- 1:01Speaker 2: Juicy Scoop.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Hello and welcome to Juicy Scoop. Lots of fun, juicy
- 1:06Speaker 1: things to talk about with Sarah Colonna, one of our
- 1:08Speaker 1: favorites and a good friend of mine. But first, I
- 1:10Speaker 1: just want to address what happened this weekend. For those
- 1:15Speaker 1: of you that are not part of Patreon, I did
- 1:17Speaker 1: drop a Patreon on Sunday evening because of what transpired
- 1:22Speaker 1: in my personal life on Saturday night. And On Saturday,
- 1:29Speaker 1: this is not a great photo, so I don't even
- 1:31Speaker 1: know if I want to put this up. I didn't
- 1:32Speaker 1: post it, but my sister and I were in Palm
- 1:34Speaker 1: Desert and we met up with Kelly Dodd and Megan Weaver,
- 1:39Speaker 1: who is best known for being on Jeff Lewis's TV show,
- 1:43Speaker 1: Hollywood House Lift, as well as a regular on his
- 1:45Speaker 1: radio show. And I have known her for years. She's
- 1:50Speaker 1: been on this show as an individual guest a few
- 1:53Speaker 1: years ago. She's been to my house for a couple
- 1:55Speaker 1: dinner parties as well as an all-girl birthday party. We've
- 1:59Speaker 1: gone out several times with Just Girls. We've been very
- 2:01Speaker 1: friendly for a long time. And I was thrilled to
- 2:04Speaker 1: have a fun day with them. We had a fun
- 2:06Speaker 1: day and met up at Kelly Dodd's house that night
- 2:10Speaker 1: in which we were having a great conversation. And then
- 2:14Speaker 1: she turned to me and said the most cruel things
- 2:17Speaker 1: that anyone has ever said to me to my face
- 2:21Speaker 1: in my life. She did it in front of several
- 2:24Speaker 1: people and including my sister, the attorney. And it was
- 2:30Speaker 1: it was horrible. And I, you know, I left in
- 2:33Speaker 1: tears and I went back to my sister's house and
- 2:37Speaker 1: I recorded a Patreon from my phone, not knowing if
- 2:40Speaker 1: I would share it. I kept checking my phone thinking
- 2:43Speaker 1: she's obviously going to realize how unfair and cruel this was.
- 2:48Speaker 1: you know, and text me. Nothing, nothing in the morning
- 2:51Speaker 1: from her, still have yet to hear, and I'm recording
- 2:53Speaker 1: this Monday at 11. So, yeah, I did share it,
- 2:57Speaker 1: and I share things on Patreon because that's where I
- 3:01Speaker 1: share my personal stuff, and I really love just getting
- 3:04Speaker 1: the support and feedback, and sometimes it's like, I don't
- 3:06Speaker 1: agree with you, Heather. In this one, it was 99.9%
- 3:10Speaker 1: incredible support, and that's why I do it. The only
- 3:14Speaker 1: other people that would support me that much are my
- 3:16Speaker 1: parents and their dad. So, So that's why I do it.
- 3:23Speaker 1: And I want to thank everybody for being so nice.
- 3:28Speaker 1: No one should have to ever experience something like this,
- 3:32Speaker 1: whether you're 12 or 52. It was awful. And I
- 3:39Speaker 1: have spoken to Jeff. I shared my story. We've been
- 3:42Speaker 1: friends for so long, for over 15 years. We've never
- 3:46Speaker 1: gone six months without seeing each other in person. You know,
- 3:50Speaker 1: I've been on his show from the very beginning. I've
- 3:52Speaker 1: known Kelly Dodd since 2014.
- 3:56Speaker 2: It was so bizarre.
- 3:58Speaker 1: And I was made to feel that these people that
- 4:01Speaker 1: are on his show don't like me. There's been a
- 4:04Speaker 1: lot of talking about me behind my back. And it
- 4:07Speaker 1: was an awful feeling because every time I would do
- 4:09Speaker 1: that show, I would be thrilled to go and left
- 4:13Speaker 1: there on a high and feeling like the people in
- 4:16Speaker 1: that room enjoyed me. She made it very clear that
- 4:20Speaker 1: they do not. Um, I have not heard from anybody
- 4:23Speaker 1: except for Jeff. Um, so I, I'm confident that Jeff
- 4:28Speaker 1: and I can remain friends. Um, I will never do
- 4:31Speaker 1: his show again. That's how I feel. He hopes that
- 4:34Speaker 1: I changed my mind at this point. I don't think so.
- 4:37Speaker 1: And what's kind of beautiful about that is when I
- 4:40Speaker 1: had times where I felt like this in my previous
- 4:44Speaker 1: job on TV for seven and a half years, I,
- 4:47Speaker 1: I didn't have the option to leave. I didn't have
- 4:50Speaker 1: another way to be creative and have a platform or
- 4:54Speaker 1: make money. And now I do. Thanks to Juicy Scoop.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Thanks to the empire that I built. That feels like
- 5:00Speaker 1: an empire, even though it's a small one. I don't
- 5:03Speaker 1: ever have to be in the presence of anybody that
- 5:06Speaker 1: doesn't find me wonderful. One of the things I said
- 5:08Speaker 1: on the Patreon episode was, at this age, I don't
- 5:10Speaker 1: fuck with anyone who doesn't find me wonderful. Annie's going
- 5:14Speaker 1: to make merch. It's going to compete with Send It
- 5:17Speaker 1: to Daryl. And no, I really feel like that. And
- 5:22Speaker 1: if and when I do get any kind of apology
- 5:27Speaker 1: from her, Megan Weaver, to me, I will be confident
- 5:31Speaker 1: that she's really only sorry that I shared the story.
- 5:35Speaker 1: And I shared the story because I don't think, I've
- 5:38Speaker 1: never been in the position to protect people that treat
- 5:42Speaker 1: me horribly and neither should you. And she had all
- 5:45Speaker 1: day to reach out and say, I think you're feeling bad.
- 5:50Speaker 1: She did not care that I was feeling bad all night,
- 5:53Speaker 1: all morning, while she was having fun at tennis, while
- 5:55Speaker 1: she was posting. I still wish her success. I don't
- 6:00Speaker 1: want to see her lose her position or anything in life.
- 6:05Speaker 1: I don't know what she's going to say, why she
- 6:07Speaker 1: chose to say those awful things. 100%, I think she
- 6:10Speaker 1: felt all those things. And she has a right to
- 6:13Speaker 1: feel it, but I don't have, there's no need for
- 6:15Speaker 1: me to have ever had to receive that information in
- 6:18Speaker 1: that way ever. And, um, and I've never done anything
- 6:24Speaker 1: outwardly cruel to say to her or exclude her or anything.
- 6:28Speaker 1: So it was just, it was just like really unbelievable.
- 6:32Speaker 1: And I don't wish that on anybody. I also want
- 6:34Speaker 1: to clarify that one of the players in the story
- 6:38Speaker 1: was Chef Stu, who is on and off again boyfriends
- 6:42Speaker 1: with Jeff Lewis. And when I told the story, I
- 6:46Speaker 1: said he was agreeing with the first part of the
- 6:48Speaker 1: conversation of the stuff she had said. That's why I
- 6:50Speaker 1: know there's been a lot of conversation behind my back,
- 6:52Speaker 1: which makes me very uncomfortable to enter that space again.
- 6:55Speaker 1: But as the conversation went on and as she kept
- 6:58Speaker 1: saying more and more like weird and mean things to me,
- 7:02Speaker 1: really attacking my character and morals. Stu did defend me.
- 7:08Speaker 1: He did say this has gone on too far. He
- 7:10Speaker 1: did text me that night. He did call me the
- 7:12Speaker 1: next day. And he was very nice. So I don't
- 7:15Speaker 1: know if I made that clear in the Patreon, but
- 7:17Speaker 1: I wanted to say that. And also during this conversation,
- 7:21Speaker 1: I want to say that Kelly and Rick were not
- 7:23Speaker 1: present to hear it. She said it in front of
- 7:25Speaker 1: my sister and her boyfriend and Stuart. And I'm excited
- 7:32Speaker 1: to do the show with my friend. I'm wearing this shirt,
- 7:34Speaker 1: Jesus Loves Me the Most, which is a Juicy Scoop
- 7:37Speaker 1: merch item, which I have kind of felt a little,
- 7:39Speaker 1: it's a little controversial, but I feel like I really
- 7:41Speaker 1: needed it today. So there you go. You can get
- 7:45Speaker 1: the scoop from there or not. And, you know, don't
- 7:49Speaker 1: be going after anybody. I don't need it. I just
- 7:52Speaker 1: wanted to share it with you guys. Of course, you know,
- 7:54Speaker 1: just like anything, people leave comments on people's pages and
- 7:58Speaker 1: And that doesn't bring me any joy. I just needed
- 8:02Speaker 1: to tell my story because it was just so weird
- 8:06Speaker 1: and devastating and made me feel like I was the
- 8:08Speaker 1: Catholic school girl who got invited to the cool public
- 8:11Speaker 1: school party. No, nothing against public school kids, but this
- 8:14Speaker 1: happened to me when I was eight. And I really
- 8:16Speaker 1: thought they were excited to have me. And the whole
- 8:18Speaker 1: reason they invited me was to ambush me that night
- 8:22Speaker 1: and be cruel to me to the point where I
- 8:25Speaker 1: wanted to call my mom and have her pick me up,
- 8:27Speaker 1: but I knew that she probably wouldn't. So thank God
- 8:30Speaker 1: for Uber and my sister, because I did not have
- 8:32Speaker 1: to stay in that environment any longer than I wanted to.
- 8:34Speaker 1: And I left. And that's what it felt like. And
- 8:36Speaker 1: it was awful. So there you guys go. And so
- 8:41Speaker 1: I want to just really quickly before Sarah gets her,
- 8:43Speaker 1: just give you the latest on the Vanderpump. We are
- 8:45Speaker 1: not going to do a whole day of Vanderpump, but
- 8:46Speaker 1: there was one thing that has transpired that I thought
- 8:49Speaker 1: you'd find interesting. Katie Maloney, who was married to Tom Schwartz.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Tom Schwartz and Tom Sandoval are all the best friends, right?
- 8:56Speaker 1: Tom Schwartz had this roommate. after he moved out, a
- 8:59Speaker 1: platonic roommate named Joe, who happened to be Kristen Doty,
- 9:03Speaker 1: who is a former person on the show, friends with everybody,
- 9:07Speaker 1: and was also the ex-girlfriend of Tom Sandoval. This was
- 9:11Speaker 1: her former best friend. They were best friends. This girl
- 9:14Speaker 1: was always around. From November on, or even prior to that,
- 9:22Speaker 1: Schwartz and Joe and Raquel and Tom Sandoval would go
- 9:26Speaker 1: out and they didn't, to Ariana's knowledge, I don't believe
- 9:30Speaker 1: she thought it was a double date. I think she
- 9:31Speaker 1: thought it was all platonic friends hanging out, but the
- 9:33Speaker 1: four of them would go out a lot and spend
- 9:35Speaker 1: a lot of time together. We now know that Schwartz
- 9:38Speaker 1: and Joe are a couple. And so the question, which
- 9:43Speaker 1: was all wondering, just like how much did Erica Girardi know?
- 9:47Speaker 1: How much did Tom Schwartz know? And when did he
- 9:49Speaker 1: find out? Because if they were all hanging out like
- 9:51Speaker 1: this and Joe and Schwartz were This girl, Joan Schwartz,
- 9:56Speaker 1: were intimate or whatever. And they're hanging out with two
- 9:58Speaker 1: other people who we know have been intimate. since August,
- 10:01Speaker 1: and this is in November, it's also just very telling.
- 10:05Speaker 1: So over the weekend, Katie Maloney posted, Joe is spooky.
- 10:10Speaker 1: I mean, none of us could stand to be around her.
- 10:12Speaker 1: Her energy is on par with a crackhead. But when
- 10:15Speaker 1: Tom and I announced our divorce almost a year ago,
- 10:17Speaker 1: the last thing she texted me was, quote, Bieber loves you.
- 10:20Speaker 1: I love you. And I'm so supporting of your inner
- 10:23Speaker 1: thoughts and visions. Live in the moment. You're a gem.
- 10:27Speaker 1: And I've always respected you. I love you. XO Joe.
- 10:30Speaker 1: She continues to write, Joe is a psycho. And I
- 10:33Speaker 1: will also light her on fire with Rachel, aka Raquel,
- 10:38Speaker 1: aka Rachel. So this is an interesting development, as I said. Also,
- 10:45Speaker 1: the Vanderpump trailer for the next episodes just dropped yesterday.
- 10:49Speaker 1: And some of it is from before the scandal. And
- 10:51Speaker 1: a lot of it is since the scandal. And it
- 10:54Speaker 1: is so raw. And it's this creepy music. And I
- 10:57Speaker 1: have chills just thinking about it. But we see Ariana
- 11:01Speaker 1: and Tom talking. And he goes, do you want anything?
- 11:04Speaker 1: Like he's being in the kitchen, like trying to get
- 11:06Speaker 1: her a cup of something. And she goes, for you
- 11:08Speaker 1: to die. That's the way it ends. We also see
- 11:12Speaker 1: Raquel saying, I don't regret this relationship.
- 11:15Speaker 5: We.
- 11:17Speaker 1: It looks so good. I have chills and this is
- 11:21Speaker 1: just going to be the juiciest show ever. So you
- 11:25Speaker 1: have to watch that. Super juicy and exciting. So here
- 11:28Speaker 1: we go. Here we go with Sarah. Let's bring her on. Hello.
- 11:31Speaker 1: And I have the Juicy Skipper with the best hair.
- 11:35Speaker 1: I've got Sarah Colonna, funny, great skin, just a good time.
- 11:41Speaker 1: My friend, welcome back to Juicy Scoop, girl.
- 11:44Speaker 2: Thanks, girl. Thanks for the compliments. My hair is feeling
- 11:47Speaker 2: a little big this morning.
- 11:48Speaker 3: Really?
- 11:48Speaker 1: I think it looks great. Now, you shared with me
- 11:51Speaker 1: this picture, and I would like you to explain what
- 11:53Speaker 1: is this sad situation of you. This is you on
- 11:57Speaker 1: the road. As a traveling comedian.
- 11:59Speaker 2: Well, no.
- 11:59Speaker 1: As a traveling funny lady?
- 12:01Speaker 2: No.
- 12:01Speaker 1: What is this?
- 12:01Speaker 2: It was actually not a comedian job. Okay. It was
- 12:05Speaker 2: I was visiting a friend of mine from college. Now,
- 12:08Speaker 2: it's a bit of an involved story, but I have
- 12:11Speaker 2: not seen him in years and years. And we were
- 12:14Speaker 2: like him and another friend. There was like four of
- 12:17Speaker 2: us that were really close in college.
- 12:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:18Speaker 2: And he reached out to us in December and said,
- 12:21Speaker 2: I have some health issues. We should all get together.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Nice.
- 12:25Speaker 2: He has prostate cancer, but he is in treatment. So
- 12:29Speaker 2: we're not quite sure, but it was kind of like,
- 12:32Speaker 2: it was kind of cool. It was one of those
- 12:33Speaker 2: things where everyone was like, yeah, great. We're going to Danville, Illinois.
- 12:37Speaker 1: Nice.
- 12:38Speaker 2: To see him, even though we all haven't been together
- 12:39Speaker 2: in years. Well, he said, I have plenty of room
- 12:42Speaker 2: for you guys. He has like an apartment, a two
- 12:46Speaker 2: bedroom apartment, but it was going to be three girls.
- 12:48Speaker 2: And so I thought, Let's get a hotel. Yeah, let's
- 12:51Speaker 2: just do a hotel. He said, they're not great around here,
- 12:53Speaker 2: but get one close to me.
- 12:55Speaker 1: Sure.
- 12:56Speaker 2: He said, there's one that's fine.
- 12:57Speaker 1: Okay.
- 12:58Speaker 2: And this is the one that he thought was fine.
- 13:01Speaker 2: But he didn't know. In his defense, he had no idea.
- 13:04Speaker 1: I don't even.
- 13:06Speaker 2: First of all, it looks like a bloody shirt in
- 13:08Speaker 2: the corner.
- 13:09Speaker 1: Oh, there's construction happening. Well.
- 13:11Speaker 2: I guess that's construction. It doesn't look like construction that
- 13:14Speaker 2: anyone knew what they were doing. You know, it looks
- 13:17Speaker 2: like someone just went and knocked the wall out and
- 13:19Speaker 2: then was like, that looks good, and left. I don't know.
- 13:21Speaker 2: I mean, I like that there's the TVs.
- 13:23Speaker 1: So you walked in.
- 13:24Speaker 2: Well, I didn't. I'll be honest. I hadn't turned around
- 13:27Speaker 2: yet when I walked in. It was, like, late at night,
- 13:30Speaker 2: and I walked. Oh, late at night on top of it. Yeah,
- 13:32Speaker 2: and I walked straight up to the desk, and the lady,
- 13:35Speaker 2: she was kind of asleep in the back.
- 13:36Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 13:37Speaker 2: And so I said, oh, miss, you know, hey. So
- 13:42Speaker 2: she woke up and came over and I checked in
- 13:46Speaker 2: and then I turned around and saw what was happening.
- 13:50Speaker 2: First of all, I asked her for some water because
- 13:52Speaker 2: I had just driven from like 45 minutes away after
- 13:56Speaker 2: two flights, you know. So I asked her for some
- 13:58Speaker 2: water and she said, oh, we don't have any water yet.
- 14:01Speaker 1: And I.
- 14:04Speaker 2: Thought, well, I don't know what that means. You know,
- 14:06Speaker 2: does that mean the whole hotel? Does that mean.
- 14:07Speaker 1: So there's no, like no bottles of water anywhere.
- 14:10Speaker 2: She said, I think we have some pop in the corner.
- 14:13Speaker 1: And I. The word pop is.
- 14:15Speaker 3: I know.
- 14:15Speaker 2: And I also didn't know what, like what corner. I
- 14:17Speaker 2: didn't know what any of that meant. So I was like,
- 14:18Speaker 2: I'm good.
- 14:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:20Speaker 2: So then I turned around and then I saw that. Okay.
- 14:23Speaker 2: And I thought this doesn't, this doesn't look right to me.
- 14:27Speaker 2: But I trekked on over to the elevator and that
- 14:31Speaker 2: elevator opened and there was like, Some hand smears and
- 14:36Speaker 2: some graffiti.
- 14:37Speaker 1: Like someone was trying to escape from the elevator?
- 14:39Speaker 2: It kind of looked like someone had tried to get out.
- 14:41Speaker 2: And maybe they tried to write. There was names. Maybe
- 14:43Speaker 2: that was the last thing they ever wrote. You know
- 14:45Speaker 2: what I mean? I don't know.
- 14:46Speaker 1: Or they're just tagging that elevator as their gang space.
- 14:50Speaker 1: So no one else could go in it.
- 14:51Speaker 2: Sure. I don't know that there's a big gang problem
- 14:54Speaker 2: in Danville, Illinois. I think it was just.
- 14:57Speaker 1: No one got around to cleaning it.
- 14:59Speaker 2: So I turned back around and I, cause I thought, well,
- 15:02Speaker 2: I'm just going to go stay at my friends. Cause
- 15:03Speaker 2: now it was only two of us. One of the
- 15:04Speaker 2: girls couldn't end up coming. And he said he had
- 15:07Speaker 2: a trundle bed. So I was like, I'm just going
- 15:09Speaker 2: to go back.
- 15:10Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:10Speaker 2: So I went up to the lady and I said,
- 15:12Speaker 2: I'm sorry, this just isn't what I was expecting. Can
- 15:15Speaker 2: I uncheck in? And she said, she was, she was
- 15:19Speaker 2: so confused. I felt bad because she was like, I
- 15:23Speaker 2: guess she was offended. She said, nobody's ever, she said,
- 15:26Speaker 2: what's wrong with our hotel? First she said that.
- 15:28Speaker 1: And I thought, So was it not a name brand?
- 15:33Speaker 1: It was a Wyndham.
- 15:34Speaker 2: Okay. Owned by Wyndham. It was like a Days, I believe,
- 15:38Speaker 2: that Wyndham had purchased.
- 15:39Speaker 1: Okay.
- 15:40Speaker 2: And their reviews online were fine. Like, it said there
- 15:43Speaker 2: was a restaurant.
- 15:43Speaker 1: Do you feel like you did your homework?
- 15:45Speaker 2: I did my homework.
- 15:46Speaker 1: Because I definitely don't do my homework about stuff like this.
- 15:48Speaker 1: I did. I do now, but there was a long
- 15:51Speaker 1: time where I didn't.
- 15:52Speaker 2: No, I do. Okay. And I'm not, I mean.
- 15:55Speaker 2: Yes, I'm picky, but I've stayed in some, as you know,
- 15:59Speaker 2: some real shit as comedians. Sometimes there's just no option.
- 16:03Speaker 1: Right.
- 16:05Speaker 2: So I said, well, I got to go. And she said,
- 16:08Speaker 2: just nobody's ever done this before. I don't know what
- 16:11Speaker 2: to do. And I said, it's fine.
- 16:12Speaker 1: Was there any part of you that being a nice
- 16:15Speaker 1: female from our generation that never wants to hurt anyone's
- 16:18Speaker 1: feelings that you thought, maybe I'll act like I checked in,
- 16:22Speaker 1: pay for it, and then just run away? Yes. To
- 16:25Speaker 1: not hurt this woman's feelings?
- 16:27Speaker 2: Well, I didn't realize that her feelings would be hurt.
- 16:29Speaker 2: I thought she'd be like, yeah, no, I know we're
- 16:31Speaker 2: missing a wall, and I told you there's no water,
- 16:33Speaker 2: and I get it. Of course you're not going to
- 16:35Speaker 2: stay here. I kind of thought that was going to
- 16:37Speaker 2: be her response, but she seemed deeply offended. So then
- 16:40Speaker 2: that's how I said, it's cool. I'll figure it out.
- 16:44Speaker 2: She goes, well, where did you book it? And I
- 16:45Speaker 2: was like, on your website, on the Wyndham website. She's like,
- 16:49Speaker 2: I mean, it was all.
- 16:50Speaker 1: Also, whenever you book something that's not on theirs, they're like,
- 16:52Speaker 1: that's why it sucks. That's why you got charged. That's
- 16:55Speaker 1: why your room isn't here. Did you do it on
- 16:57Speaker 1: this other website? We can't help you.
- 16:59Speaker 2: Haven't you ever had that happen?
- 17:00Speaker 1: When you get like a deal, like an Expedia or something,
- 17:03Speaker 1: they're always like, whoops. Yeah. That's why you don't... That's
- 17:06Speaker 1: why you got to do it on ours.
- 17:07Speaker 2: And you're like, what? Well, I did do it on theirs,
- 17:09Speaker 2: but what if I did it on Expedia... I think, yeah.
- 17:13Speaker 2: Is that why the wall got knocked down? Yeah, that's
- 17:14Speaker 2: why I think.
- 17:15Speaker 1: They always want you to say, oh, I did on this.
- 17:17Speaker 1: And they're like, we don't fuck with third parties. So
- 17:20Speaker 1: that's why you're screwed.
- 17:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:21Speaker 1: That's why you don't get cleaning service. That's why we
- 17:25Speaker 1: don't know who you are.
- 17:26Speaker 2: I don't know what happened. But the next morning when
- 17:28Speaker 2: I woke up and I was on my American Express app,
- 17:31Speaker 2: it was already refunded. And I didn't even make a
- 17:33Speaker 2: phone call.
- 17:34Speaker 1: All right.
- 17:34Speaker 2: But I did walk in to meet my friends. I
- 17:38Speaker 2: texted him. I said, I can't. I said, trundle bed
- 17:40Speaker 2: still open, right? He was like, yeah. I said, cool.
- 17:43Speaker 2: I can't stay here. And then I walked in and
- 17:45Speaker 2: it was like this little dive bar. And he was
- 17:48Speaker 2: with a couple of friends and they kind of made
- 17:50Speaker 2: a couple of quick comments like, oh, you know, California,
- 17:54Speaker 2: you know, you're not in California about the hotel. And
- 17:55Speaker 2: I go, no, no, no, no.
- 17:57Speaker 1: I'm from Farmington, Arkansas.
- 17:59Speaker 2: Here's the photo. And they went, oh, Jesus Christ.
- 18:03Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 18:03Speaker 2: They were like, we don't know what happened.
- 18:04Speaker 1: Ooh, city ladies.
- 18:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:05Speaker 1: California blown. You're like, no, no, no.
- 18:08Speaker 2: No, this is just not. I like that there's a TV, though,
- 18:11Speaker 2: just in case you want to stand in the middle
- 18:12Speaker 2: of that. There's nowhere to sit, so you can just
- 18:16Speaker 2: stand there and stare at the TV.
- 18:18Speaker 5: Planning on rewarding your staff this year struggling to choose
- 18:21Speaker 5: between a shop gift card or a pay anywhere card

- 18:28Speaker 5: can spend with ireland's favorite retailers or choose a card

- 18:43Speaker 5: rewarding visit optionscard.ie today.
- 18:48Speaker 3: I'm Darman, and this is What Happens Next. Each week
- 18:51Speaker 3: on the show, I sit down with extraordinary people who
- 18:54Speaker 3: have faced tremendous setbacks and yet somehow have found a
- 18:58Speaker 3: way to turn them into their greatest strengths.
- 19:01Speaker 1: Life is one long lesson of chaos.
- 19:04Speaker 2: I'm heading to the Emmys, and I have police complaints
- 19:07Speaker 2: filed against me. When your free will was about to
- 19:09Speaker 2: be taken from you, what would you do if it
- 19:11Speaker 2: was given back?
- 19:12Speaker 3: Where did that need come from where you thought that
- 19:15Speaker 3: you had to succeed in order to feel loved?
- 19:17Speaker 2: He said, I have a work dad.
- 19:19Speaker 1: I need a home dad. What happens next? When I
- 19:21Speaker 1: came in, he started crying. Everybody in life encounters hardships.
- 19:25Speaker 3: What defines them is not those hard moments that they
- 19:28Speaker 3: go through. It's about what happens next.
- 19:31Speaker 1: I decided to risk it all. I realized how valuable
- 19:33Speaker 1: every day was.
- 19:34Speaker 2: You're worth the work.
- 19:35Speaker 1: Listen, Dara, I'm not going to pull punches. You can
- 19:38Speaker 1: use your voice even if it's shaped.
- 19:39Speaker 3: The stories are different, but the impact is the same.
- 19:43Speaker 3: Only one question matters. What happens next?
- 19:54Speaker 1: You know, there's been a debate going on for many
- 19:56Speaker 1: years with the influx of the RBO, you know, which
- 20:01Speaker 1: is where you rent the houses from people. Is that
- 20:04Speaker 1: a better thing? That seemed a lot of people like that.
- 20:06Speaker 1: Then there were people I saw a big Some people
- 20:10Speaker 1: being like, no, hotels are the way to go. The
- 20:12Speaker 1: whole joy of going to a hotel is that you
- 20:13Speaker 1: can go to a hotel and be at a hotel
- 20:15Speaker 1: bar and leave it messy and all this other stuff.
- 20:18Speaker 2: Apparently this one had a bar, by the way.
- 20:21Speaker 1: One of the stories that is Chris's favorite story of
- 20:23Speaker 1: mine is that I was staying at a hotel once
- 20:27Speaker 1: and I was like, okay, I'm going to go to
- 20:29Speaker 1: the restaurant. I don't want to eat in the room
- 20:31Speaker 1: because I'm by myself all weekend. I'm going to go
- 20:33Speaker 1: to the restaurant and eat there. And when I got
- 20:36Speaker 1: to the restaurant, it was literally just like, It looked
- 20:40Speaker 1: like this, this room with like five tables in it,
- 20:44Speaker 1: like no windows, no atmosphere, just like, and then one
- 20:47Speaker 1: guy came out and I was like, this is just
- 20:50Speaker 1: too depressing. I don't want to order the food here.
- 20:52Speaker 1: And I go, oh, sorry, I have to go.
- 20:53Speaker 3: Okay.
- 20:55Speaker 1: So I didn't order any food and I went back
- 20:56Speaker 1: to my room, but I was hungry. So then I
- 20:59Speaker 1: ordered the room service and I made a whole backstory.
- 21:03Speaker 1: Like I have to go, you know, like this long story.
- 21:06Speaker 1: Cause I think I might've ordered like a water and whatever.
- 21:10Speaker 1: And then when I ordered the food, he came to
- 21:11Speaker 1: deliver it. And I felt like it was so rude. Like,
- 21:16Speaker 1: I wanted to eat this food. And it was the
- 21:17Speaker 1: same thing that I had ordered with him. And then
- 21:19Speaker 1: I took out the order. And then I went to
- 21:21Speaker 1: my room and ordered the room service from the place.
- 21:23Speaker 1: And it was like, I did want this tuna melt.
- 21:26Speaker 1: I just didn't want it with you.
- 21:27Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:28Speaker 1: And I just felt terrible about it. And so I
- 21:32Speaker 1: was like.
- 21:35Speaker 2: Listen, it's not, you know, this is not the fault
- 21:37Speaker 2: of the nice lady that I checked in with. And
- 21:39Speaker 2: that is not the fault of the Ruth. Sometimes we
- 21:42Speaker 2: just want to be alone.
- 21:44Speaker 1: So I wanted to share this story that happened. I
- 21:47Speaker 1: think we discovered it on Thursday. And I said, I
- 21:50Speaker 1: have to talk about it with Sarah because... She knows
- 21:55Speaker 1: Peter very well, my husband. So Peter and Drake were
- 21:58Speaker 1: going to go skiing. And originally they were going to
- 22:01Speaker 1: get a house with these other people. And they're going
- 22:03Speaker 1: to a place that is really just like for like
- 22:05Speaker 1: the hardcore skier. So I like to go to like
- 22:07Speaker 1: Deer Valley, which is like very she, she and Park
- 22:09Speaker 1: City and easy runs. But since I wasn't going and
- 22:12Speaker 1: then all these people flaked. So he got Peter goes,
- 22:14Speaker 1: I just got a VRBO just for Drake and I.
- 22:18Speaker 1: It's like a two bedroom, whatever.
- 22:20Speaker 2: And I go, OK, fine.
- 22:22Speaker 5: So.
- 22:23Speaker 1: He gets there and they say they have... The skiing
- 22:26Speaker 1: is good. Drake's like, well... I go, how's the place?
- 22:30Speaker 1: I call him and he goes, well, it's like we're...
- 22:34Speaker 1: We're like in someone's basement. Like the people are upstairs.
- 22:37Speaker 1: But dad and I each have our own rooms. And so,
- 22:40Speaker 1: I mean, I guess it's fine. He goes, they're nice.
- 22:42Speaker 1: They're like, they left us these donuts and stuff. I go,
- 22:44Speaker 1: what do you mean they left you these donuts? They said,
- 22:46Speaker 1: if you want these donuts, you can have these donuts.
- 22:49Speaker 1: And I go, okay, fine.
- 22:51Speaker 5: So.
- 22:53Speaker 1: They don't tell me anything about it. They just said
- 22:54Speaker 1: they had a good time skiing. So Peter comes back
- 23:01Speaker 1: and he's like, whoa, they gave me a one-star review.
- 23:07Speaker 1: You know, they can review the guest. And he's like,
- 23:11Speaker 1: and I gave them a five-star because they asked me
- 23:14Speaker 1: to review them. I was going to be the first review.
- 23:16Speaker 1: And he's like, I didn't think it was that great,
- 23:17Speaker 1: but I gave him a five-star. And I'm like, whoa, whoa, whoa.
- 23:20Speaker 2: They asked him to review, and then they went and
- 23:22Speaker 2: gave him a one star? One star.
- 23:24Speaker 1: And I go, whoa, whoa, whoa. I don't think you
- 23:27Speaker 1: guys are telling me the whole story. I immediately call Drake,
- 23:29Speaker 1: and I go, Drake, do you really think those donuts
- 23:31Speaker 1: were left for you? Because I'm like, how did someone
- 23:35Speaker 1: get so upset? So Peter then sends me all the
- 23:39Speaker 1: exchange between them throughout the visit. And so as I
- 23:44Speaker 1: was reading it, I'm going to tell you what I
- 23:45Speaker 1: was first thinking, and then there's a follow-up that happens.
- 23:48Speaker 2: Okay.
- 23:48Speaker 1: So the first exchange starts with Peter saying, okay, we
- 23:52Speaker 1: are on our way 30 minutes out. The owner says, great.
- 23:55Speaker 1: See you soon.
- 23:56Speaker 5: Hi.
- 23:57Speaker 1: Then on later in the day, hi, are there trash liners?
- 23:59Speaker 1: We need some and a few eggs for tomorrow. Thanks, Peter.
- 24:03Speaker 1: And I go, wait a minute, Peter, why are you
- 24:05Speaker 1: asking for them to get you groceries? That's what I'm
- 24:07Speaker 1: trying to be like pushing the limit.
- 24:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:09Speaker 1: And he goes, no, they said that they would get
- 24:12Speaker 1: that for us or something. So I'm like, All right.
- 24:15Speaker 2: Did you see any proof of that? Did you see
- 24:18Speaker 2: a text from anyone that said, can.
- 24:20Speaker 1: We get you groceries? It comes a little bit later.
- 24:22Speaker 1: I don't know why. So then he goes, we're skiing now.
- 24:24Speaker 1: I go, now this isn't a bed and breakfast. This
- 24:27Speaker 1: was a VRBO. So I'm confused. So this is them
- 24:30Speaker 1: having a great time. They're snowmobiling. They're skiing.
- 24:33Speaker 2: Thinking that they're coming home to some eggs.
- 24:35Speaker 1: Yeah. And then you got it. We have those for you.
- 24:38Speaker 1: He said about the eggs, the owner. Then Peter says, hi,
- 24:42Speaker 1: I'm looking for the thermostat. I'm like, see, Peter, you're
- 24:45Speaker 1: You're pushing it. He goes, I was freezing. We're in
- 24:47Speaker 1: a basement. He goes, we'd like it a couple degrees
- 24:50Speaker 1: in the bedroom. A couple degrees higher in the bedrooms.
- 24:53Speaker 1: The guy goes, hi there. We can control the thermostat remotely.
- 24:57Speaker 1: It's currently at 70 degrees. I'm like, I already feel
- 24:59Speaker 1: like this guy's getting irritated. 70 is appropriate. I like
- 25:03Speaker 1: a 72. Who are these pussies from California in Utah? Right,
- 25:07Speaker 1: 70 is, yeah. So we can adjust it to any
- 25:11Speaker 1: temp you need. I'm bumping it up to 72. Please
- 25:16Speaker 1: let us know if you need it adjusted further. Like
- 25:19Speaker 1: I can feel it. Yeah. But I was like having it.
- 25:22Speaker 1: And I go, well, who are these people? And he said,
- 25:25Speaker 1: they're like 30, a husband and a wife. And the
- 25:29Speaker 1: husband was like a bartender. So he would come home
- 25:31Speaker 1: at like midnight and he would take a shower. And
- 25:34Speaker 1: where Drake's room was, he could hear the water running
- 25:36Speaker 1: and stuff. So Drake had like a less desirable room
- 25:38Speaker 1: than Peter. But they were like in the basement and
- 25:40Speaker 1: they thought it was fine. Peter also told me.
- 25:43Speaker 2: So the people were upstairs.
- 25:44Speaker 3: Yes.
- 25:44Speaker 2: The whole time. Got it.
- 25:45Speaker 1: Okay. Peter also told me there was another thing where
- 25:48Speaker 1: he said, you know, we'll meet you and go through
- 25:52Speaker 1: the house rules, like when they were first checking in.
- 25:55Speaker 1: And I'm like, what were the rules? And he goes, well,
- 25:57Speaker 1: I mean, they didn't want us to bring any of
- 26:01Speaker 1: our ski equipment inside and not wear any shoes inside.
- 26:06Speaker 1: But I go, but you did? And he goes, I
- 26:08Speaker 1: don't know. I mean, like, you know, maybe. And I go, oh, God.
- 26:11Speaker 1: And I go, and also, they... And then I find
- 26:14Speaker 1: out this is the first time these people have done
- 26:16Speaker 1: their VRBO.
- 26:18Speaker 2: Okay.
- 26:19Speaker 1: So I'm imagining this young couple. I'm thinking she never
- 26:22Speaker 1: wants to do this shit. Right. The bartender husband pushed
- 26:26Speaker 1: her to do it.
- 26:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 26:28Speaker 1: He says, hey, it's just two people. It's actually sleep six.
- 26:31Speaker 1: It says for six. He's like, I don't have six people.
- 26:34Speaker 1: So he's like, honey, it's just two. It's just a man.
- 26:38Speaker 1: And his little son. And his little son. Yeah. And
- 26:40Speaker 1: then here comes 6'4 Drake and giant Peter with all
- 26:43Speaker 1: their freaking ski equipment and heavy shoes. And they even said, oh,
- 26:48Speaker 1: you're coming here to ski? I don't know if they
- 26:50Speaker 1: thought they were making snowman or what. So, like, so
- 26:53Speaker 1: I don't think they liked that. Okay. So then it
- 26:55Speaker 1: continues on.
- 26:58Speaker 2: Hey, guys.
- 26:59Speaker 1: The owner. Hope you're enjoying your time so far. We're
- 27:02Speaker 1: running errands before the snowstorm tonight. Is there anything we
- 27:06Speaker 1: can pick up to restock you for the morning? Would
- 27:09Speaker 1: you like a unit refresh tomorrow? Restock beds, kitchen cleanup.
- 27:14Speaker 1: They're saying they're going to do all this. Peter pushing it.
- 27:17Speaker 1: Milk would be nice and a fresh up. Always pushing
- 27:23Speaker 1: the limit.
- 27:23Speaker 2: Okay.
- 27:24Speaker 1: He goes, the guy goes, hi. Oh, then Peter goes, hi,
- 27:29Speaker 1: we had a wonderful stay. We wanted to ski in
- 27:31Speaker 1: the morning and come back at 12 to shower and
- 27:33Speaker 1: head out at 1230. Could we do that? Usually with VRBOs,
- 27:37Speaker 1: they want you out by like 1030.
- 27:39Speaker 2: Oh, that's okay. I was wondering why he's giving him time.
- 27:42Speaker 1: Pushing the limit.
- 27:44Speaker 2: Okay.
- 27:44Speaker 1: The guy says, absolutely. We don't have a check-in tomorrow,
- 27:47Speaker 1: so we can do that. Is there anything else we
- 27:49Speaker 1: can do for you for the remainder of your stay?
- 27:51Speaker 1: Peter says, everything is five star. We still have breakfast here.
- 27:56Speaker 1: For tomorrow morning, we had fun time, meaning we have
- 27:58Speaker 1: enough of those eggs and that milk and we can
- 28:01Speaker 1: make our own breakfast. Yeah.
- 28:03Speaker 2: Self-sufficient that way.
- 28:04Speaker 1: And he goes, we're happy to hear that. And we
- 28:07Speaker 1: are glad you get to squeeze in a bit more
- 28:09Speaker 1: skiing tomorrow. We would love it if you left us
- 28:11Speaker 1: our first review. Peter says, and then he goes, we'll
- 28:15Speaker 1: meet you at the unit for the walkthrough and check out. Now,
- 28:19Speaker 1: Peter says, running a bit late. Can we head out
- 28:22Speaker 1: at 1245? This is where the wife is like, I
- 28:28Speaker 1: never wanted to do this. Okay? These giants....
- 28:34Speaker 2: Stomping around in their snow gear.
- 28:35Speaker 1: With their milk and eggs. Yeah.
- 28:37Speaker 2: Asking us for groceries. Is it a VRBO normally? The
- 28:41Speaker 2: point is you get your own groceries and stuff.
- 28:44Speaker 1: I don't understand why this became an Airbnb. This is
- 28:47Speaker 1: what I think happened. I think they offered it. And again...
- 28:53Speaker 1: Maybe she didn't want him to offer it. Maybe they
- 28:55Speaker 1: didn't know they offered it. And now they're resentful. They're
- 28:58Speaker 1: feeling like they're running an air, like a bed and breakfast. Right.
- 29:02Speaker 1: And you can't offer Peter eggs and milk and.
- 29:08Speaker 2: Cause he's going to say yes.
- 29:09Speaker 1: He's going to say yes. Yeah. Peter's not the person
- 29:11Speaker 1: that's like, whoa, whoa, whoa. Don't want to inconvenience you.
- 29:14Speaker 1: That's not Peter.
- 29:15Speaker 2: Okay.
- 29:16Speaker 1: Right.
- 29:16Speaker 2: I mean, it is their fault for offering it because I've,
- 29:19Speaker 2: any Airbnb, whatever I've stayed at, it's always been like,
- 29:21Speaker 2: you bring your own, stuff. Okay.
- 29:23Speaker 1: So then he says, we hope you had a great stay.
- 29:26Speaker 1: We'd appreciate a good review for you in the unit.
- 29:29Speaker 1: And so then Peter then writes, yes, I gave you
- 29:32Speaker 1: a five-star or whatever. And then not only gets the
- 29:38Speaker 1: one-star review, they then wrote and said, we want $ 500 back,
- 29:44Speaker 1: an extra $ 500.
- 29:46Speaker 2: The people. Wait, what? For what?
- 29:49Speaker 1: They took a photo of a little piece of scrambled
- 29:52Speaker 1: egg on one of the chairs at the kitchen. So
- 29:55Speaker 1: while they were eating, I guess a piece of scrambled
- 29:57Speaker 1: egg fell on a chair. I'm not kidding. There was
- 30:00Speaker 1: a rug with like, there was a white part of
- 30:03Speaker 1: the rug that looked like there was a small yellow marking. Okay.
- 30:09Speaker 1: And therefore they want $ 500 extra.
- 30:13Speaker 2: To pick up a piece of egg? Uh-huh. Okay. These people,
- 30:18Speaker 2: I do see where Peter pushed it.
- 30:21Speaker 1: Okay.
- 30:23Speaker 2: You got to be like, no, no, no.
- 30:25Speaker 1: But he did repay by giving him a five-star review.
- 30:27Speaker 2: He gave him a five-star review. Also, like you said,
- 30:29Speaker 2: they did offer the groceries. So if someone offers it,
- 30:31Speaker 2: you know, I mean, if I was like, oh, cool.
- 30:32Speaker 1: He's like, we're going out. We know where the grocery
- 30:34Speaker 1: store is. Whatever.
- 30:35Speaker 2: Yeah, it sounds like that. Maybe if he was stomping
- 30:38Speaker 2: around in the ski gear, they got irritated about that.
- 30:41Speaker 2: I could see. He wasn't.
- 30:42Speaker 1: The ski gear, I guess he didn't leave outside. He
- 30:46Speaker 1: put it inside. And also, he wore shoes, not ski boots.
- 30:50Speaker 1: But he wore shoes and they didn't want shoes. But
- 30:52Speaker 1: he said none of that stuff was written in the
- 30:55Speaker 1: initial thing to order it. So when you do it,
- 30:59Speaker 1: normally they should say, hey, there's no elevator. So we
- 31:03Speaker 1: can't have like a handicapped person here. Right. They need
- 31:05Speaker 1: to say all that stuff. So you don't get there
- 31:08Speaker 1: and then are on the fourth floor. Like one time
- 31:10Speaker 1: we rented a place and we were skiing in Aspen
- 31:13Speaker 1: and it was four stories high with no elevator. And
- 31:17Speaker 1: we had to bring up all of our ski gear
- 31:18Speaker 1: and stuff.
- 31:19Speaker 2: Oh, no, that's not fun.
- 31:20Speaker 1: And when we got there, there was a burrito, half-eaten
- 31:22Speaker 1: burrito left in the microwave. And then while we were there,
- 31:27Speaker 1: a glass happened to break and we cleaned it up
- 31:30Speaker 1: best we thought. And they gave us a one-star review
- 31:33Speaker 1: and said, you know, a glass was broken and all
- 31:37Speaker 1: the stuff. And we're like, oh, you had no elevator.
- 31:40Speaker 1: And there was a half-eaten burrito when we got there.
- 31:42Speaker 1: And you didn't hear from us. Like, this is where
- 31:45Speaker 1: I'm like, I don't even know what people should do.
- 31:47Speaker 1: Because you either have your sad situation on a... It's
- 31:51Speaker 1: a risk. You never know. You can get lucky.
- 31:53Speaker 2: That's true.
- 31:53Speaker 1: And you can get not lucky.
- 31:55Speaker 2: And you do... I mean, the thing is, you usually
- 31:57Speaker 2: can do a lot of, like, reading first, right? I
- 32:01Speaker 2: swear I read enough to think that... I mean, obviously
- 32:04Speaker 2: nobody had said, oh, no, the hotel has since turned
- 32:06Speaker 2: into a murder hotel since last time. But you didn't
- 32:09Speaker 2: have any reviews to go off for these people, right? So,
- 32:12Speaker 2: and now... Peter should go change his probably and be like,
- 32:15Speaker 2: they should, because if he wore shoes inside and if
- 32:19Speaker 2: he like tracked a bunch of stuff around, that's one thing,
- 32:21Speaker 2: but they were just mad about a piece of egg
- 32:23Speaker 2: that didn't come off his shoe. You know what I mean?
- 32:25Speaker 2: So that's not $ 500.
- 32:26Speaker 1: Well, I think the fight between the two of them
- 32:29Speaker 1: was probably like, we were never supposed to get them eggs.
- 32:33Speaker 1: Now there's eggs and I have to clean it. This
- 32:35Speaker 1: is what the wife's saying.
- 32:36Speaker 2: Right.
- 32:37Speaker 1: And he's like, you know, I thought this was a
- 32:39Speaker 1: great way we could make more income. And she's like,
- 32:42Speaker 1: I thought it was a man and his little boy.
- 32:43Speaker 1: I didn't think it was two, one, six, three, and one, six,
- 32:47Speaker 1: five giant at my house eating eggs and, and demanding
- 32:52Speaker 1: that we, you know, but you could just.
- 32:54Speaker 2: Pick the egg up.
- 32:55Speaker 1: I mean, it's not, it's not, that's a little extreme.
- 32:58Speaker 1: So then I go back to Drake and I go,
- 33:00Speaker 1: I think it goes down to the donuts. I think
- 33:03Speaker 1: that's weird that they offered you. Are you sure? I go,
- 33:05Speaker 1: was it like a whole box and then you guys
- 33:08Speaker 1: had several and they didn't get any? And he goes, no, mom.
- 33:11Speaker 1: They had two donuts left under like a glass dome
- 33:15Speaker 1: thing and said, we left you some donuts. And I'm like,
- 33:18Speaker 1: all right.
- 33:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:19Speaker 2: I mean, I don't think that Drake would lie to you.
- 33:22Speaker 1: No. I mean, and I just thought maybe he misunderstood
- 33:25Speaker 1: and ate an entire thing of donuts. And then she
- 33:28Speaker 1: came home. from getting the eggs and was like, all
- 33:30Speaker 1: I wanted was that one donut and that giant little
- 33:33Speaker 1: shit ate it. So I was trying to figure out
- 33:36Speaker 1: what happened.
- 33:37Speaker 2: Something's missing here. Something's missing, but I could be, you
- 33:42Speaker 2: might have to do a juicy scoop investigation.
- 33:44Speaker 1: I've interviewed both of them extensively, Peter and Drake.
- 33:48Speaker 2: Can we interview the owners of the VRBO? Cause I
- 33:51Speaker 2: want to talk to them and find out what happened
- 33:53Speaker 2: because this is, And for them to ask for five,
- 33:55Speaker 2: now is Peter giving them the $ 500? I don't, that
- 33:57Speaker 2: doesn't seem right. Unless he actually ruined something.
- 34:01Speaker 1: No, I don't think so. Or those donuts have gold
- 34:04Speaker 1: in the middle of them. I think this is going
- 34:05Speaker 1: to go be disputed or something. There's no way Peter
- 34:10Speaker 1: is agreeing to this. For a piece of egg being
- 34:13Speaker 1: in his chair? Yeah. Yeah. No. So that's the story.
- 34:18Speaker 2: Can he go back and change his review? I almost
- 34:20Speaker 2: feel like he should. Unless we get to the bottom
- 34:22Speaker 2: of it and something else happens. Can you change a
- 34:25Speaker 2: review after you leave a review? You kind of shouldn't
- 34:27Speaker 2: be allowed to.
- 34:27Speaker 1: Probably not.
- 34:27Speaker 2: I guess you shouldn't be allowed to.
- 34:28Speaker 1: I don't think you should be allowed to because then
- 34:30Speaker 1: that makes it sound like a retaliation thing. Right, right.
- 34:32Speaker 2: And that's what I'm trying to do is retaliate for you.
- 34:34Speaker 1: And that's not right. I just think leaving the review,
- 34:36Speaker 1: whether it's like you get reviewed on Uber or Lyft
- 34:39Speaker 1: and stuff, it is interesting. It reminds me of that,
- 34:43Speaker 1: what was Black Magic? No, what's it called? That show
- 34:47Speaker 1: on Netflix that was- Black Mirror. Did you ever see
- 34:50Speaker 1: that Black Mirror?
- 34:51Speaker 2: I never saw it.
- 34:52Speaker 1: Oh my gosh. There was an episode in Black Mirror.
- 34:55Speaker 1: It's so good if you guys have never seen Black Mirror.
- 34:57Speaker 1: It's like a modern day Twilight Zone kind of a thing.
- 34:59Speaker 1: And a lot of things are like in the future,
- 35:01Speaker 1: just like the Twilight Zone was, the episodes. And it's
- 35:05Speaker 1: the world is you get evaluated on everything. The way
- 35:09Speaker 1: you ordered a drink, whatever. People review you and your personality,
- 35:14Speaker 1: your behavior, how nice of a person you are, whatever.
- 35:19Speaker 1: And this one girl's score, like, keeps going down. And
- 35:22Speaker 1: then it gets to a point where, like, she can't,
- 35:25Speaker 1: her friend is like, I can't have you be in
- 35:27Speaker 1: the wedding. Like, it's all public knowledge that you're, like,
- 35:30Speaker 1: a 3-3. And the only bridesmaids I want are, like,
- 35:35Speaker 1: five and above. And, like, you can't get housing. You can't, like,
- 35:38Speaker 1: it's society, but it's all about, like, you know.
- 35:42Speaker 2: Rating you by your person.
- 35:44Speaker 1: Like this. And I'm sure the person got the idea from, like, wow,
- 35:47Speaker 1: people get rated for, their behavior on Lyft and Uber
- 35:50Speaker 1: and this and that, which I mean, makes sense, you know,
- 35:53Speaker 1: it's like, but you know, but, uh, you know, people
- 35:56Speaker 1: get thrown off airplanes now and none of that stuff
- 35:59Speaker 1: like existed 10 years ago where like your behavior could
- 36:03Speaker 1: be so examined, like really seeking out assholes.
- 36:07Speaker 2: Have you ever seen like your rating on Uber a
- 36:10Speaker 2: bit and kind of been confused? Cause they don't, they
- 36:12Speaker 2: don't do it by ride or anything, but I think
- 36:14Speaker 2: I get like a four, eight or something. And I'm like,
- 36:16Speaker 2: why am I not a five? I don't know what
- 36:17Speaker 2: I've ever done. I always tip 20%. I never make
- 36:20Speaker 2: anyone wait. Can't figure out.
- 36:22Speaker 1: I think it's almost like my, our, my, um, podcast
- 36:26Speaker 1: iTunes podcast rating. Like it's always that like a four,
- 36:30Speaker 1: eight or something because there's enough people that whatever reason
- 36:33Speaker 1: hated me and brought it down to a one. So
- 36:36Speaker 1: I think last I checked, it was like a four,
- 36:38Speaker 1: eight and I don't know why it could have just
- 36:39Speaker 1: been that like, I know because I'm always like, I
- 36:43Speaker 1: always leave a tip. I'm always like, so nice. Yeah.
- 36:46Speaker 1: And I've never like thrown up in a car. I
- 36:48Speaker 1: understand if you puke in a car or something, I've
- 36:50Speaker 1: never done that.
- 36:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 36:52Speaker 1: And I always feel like I, I go above and beyond,
- 36:56Speaker 1: especially if I'm with someone to give an incredible juicy
- 37:00Speaker 1: scoop story. We are talking name dropping Hollywood stories. I'm
- 37:04Speaker 1: like this guy, I'm like, this guy wants to send
- 37:06Speaker 1: this to Des Moines. No problem. Like, I just want
- 37:09Speaker 1: this to be fun for this person. Right. And I
- 37:12Speaker 1: almost like amp it up with like how good the
- 37:15Speaker 1: info is. And so it really.
- 37:18Speaker 2: I want to be your Uber driver. That sounds fun.
- 37:20Speaker 1: It really is. So this is kind of an interesting story.
- 37:24Speaker 1: The author of the book that was the inspiration for
- 37:28Speaker 1: Mean Girls, the movie, now a play. Isn't it a
- 37:31Speaker 1: play too? Yeah. So her name is Rosalind Wiseman and
- 37:36Speaker 1: she is out. slamming Tina Fey and Paramount. She's planning
- 37:40Speaker 1: to take legal action against Paramount Studios for allegedly what
- 37:44Speaker 1: she believes they are withholding revenue. So the book was
- 37:48Speaker 1: Queen Bees and Wannabes, and she sold the movie rights,
- 37:51Speaker 1: the film rights, for $ 400, 000. But she's pissed because she's
- 37:55Speaker 1: not gotten one ounce of compensation beyond the $ 400, 000 and
- 37:59Speaker 1: thinks it's unfair, considering how successful the movie was And
- 38:04Speaker 1: how it has changed society. And she's also mad that
- 38:07Speaker 1: Tina Fey hasn't showed her any support, being that she's
- 38:10Speaker 1: such a supporter of women. And she also said she
- 38:13Speaker 1: was supposed to receive net costs once the movie hit
- 38:15Speaker 1: the theaters. But apparently the studio told her the film
- 38:18Speaker 1: gained extra costs. So there was no net costs extra.
- 38:23Speaker 1: So they didn't have any ability to pay her anymore.
- 38:25Speaker 1: So now she's coming out now and she's pissed.
- 38:28Speaker 2: I mean... I get being pissed that you sold it
- 38:31Speaker 2: for 400,000 and then it went way probably has, but
- 38:34Speaker 2: it's kind of, I mean, it's the deal was made, right?
- 38:38Speaker 2: Like that's what sucks about the whole situation. It's like
- 38:41Speaker 2: you want, you, you know, hopefully your agent puts in like,
- 38:44Speaker 2: if it becomes this, then this, if this happens, if
- 38:47Speaker 2: it becomes a Broadway play, if it.
- 38:48Speaker 1: Makes, um, you know, $ 10 million in residuals. You get
- 38:53Speaker 1: a version of the residuals or if it goes, or
- 38:56Speaker 1: also in 2004, they didn't know how to also say,
- 38:59Speaker 1: and when it's streaming on Netflix, you know, because that
- 39:02Speaker 1: didn't exist. So probably the deal happening as an author,
- 39:06Speaker 1: there's when you write a book and you've written to,
- 39:08Speaker 1: and I've written to, you know, you always think, oh gosh,
- 39:11Speaker 1: you know, won't it be great if someone makes this
- 39:13Speaker 1: a movie?
- 39:13Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 39:14Speaker 1: So when you get that offer to buy the movie
- 39:16Speaker 1: rights or whatever. And $ 400, 000, especially almost 20 years ago,
- 39:21Speaker 1: she was probably totally thrilled and didn't think that it
- 39:24Speaker 1: would be like such a classic. Yeah. And and they
- 39:28Speaker 1: always are going to say there's more costs and it's
- 39:30Speaker 1: impossible to find out really the truth. You need a
- 39:32Speaker 1: forensic accountant back in 2004 to really figure out if
- 39:36Speaker 1: they were telling the truth or not.
- 39:38Speaker 2: I mean, it sucks. Like I totally get where she's
- 39:40Speaker 2: coming from. Cause I even remember when I sold my
- 39:42Speaker 2: book to be a TV show, there was things that
- 39:44Speaker 2: it of, okay, and if it gets made, then this
- 39:47Speaker 2: per episode, or if a story comes directly from the book,
- 39:50Speaker 2: like there's little things, but I mean, it didn't get made,
- 39:53Speaker 2: so I don't have anyone to be mad at except
- 39:56Speaker 2: for- But you.
- 39:57Speaker 1: Know what's great about a book, which is why I
- 39:59Speaker 1: tell people when someone says, I want to write a
- 40:02Speaker 1: movie or I want to write a series, I always say,
- 40:04Speaker 1: you know, try to write a book first because a
- 40:06Speaker 1: book is like a business card. It's a calling card.
- 40:09Speaker 1: And like your book or whatever, it could be made
- 40:13Speaker 1: into a TV show 10 years from now. And when
- 40:16Speaker 1: that deal happens, then you can do a whole nother
- 40:18Speaker 1: deal that would involve streaming or it's cut into little
- 40:22Speaker 1: things or whatever, you know, but like whatever was made
- 40:26Speaker 1: in 2004 is, is a completely different world as it
- 40:29Speaker 1: is today. And I guess, again, you don't know the success.
- 40:32Speaker 2: TV shows, you know, from the seventies that, you know,
- 40:35Speaker 2: are still on. Right.
- 40:36Speaker 1: Yeah. I don't think they're better.
- 40:38Speaker 2: Thing or like streaming service too. It's crazy. Like you said,
- 40:41Speaker 2: because that, Like Netflix, until recently, they didn't pay residuals
- 40:45Speaker 2: at all.
- 40:46Speaker 1: Right.
- 40:46Speaker 2: And so think about, I don't know, Orange is the
- 40:49Speaker 2: New Black and how many, how like it went international.
- 40:52Speaker 2: I mean, I have no idea what their deal was
- 40:53Speaker 2: or what they got paid, but usually you would end
- 40:56Speaker 2: up getting residuals from how often it was played.
- 40:59Speaker 1: If that was on ABC and it was repeating as
- 41:02Speaker 1: much as like, you know, the Cosby show, that would
- 41:05Speaker 1: be a different situation. Yeah. You know, then. I mean,
- 41:09Speaker 1: there was no, there was no contract in. the actors
- 41:12Speaker 1: of the Cosby show. And if dad Cosby gets, you know,
- 41:16Speaker 1: convicted of rape and goes to prison, then the show
- 41:19Speaker 1: won't be airing anymore. They didn't have that in their
- 41:21Speaker 1: contract either. No, nobody knows.
- 41:24Speaker 2: Well, and also, I mean, I get what she's saying
- 41:27Speaker 2: about Tina Fey being, but what is, I don't know
- 41:30Speaker 2: what Tina Fey is supposed to do. She can't go,
- 41:32Speaker 2: you know, just go send her. I don't know.
- 41:34Speaker 1: Like, what do you, there's nothing for Tina Fey to do.
- 41:37Speaker 1: And then somebody wrote like, I want to say someone
- 41:39Speaker 1: DM me or sent it to me and was like,
- 41:42Speaker 1: I worked on this movie and she, and the writer
- 41:45Speaker 1: was a pain in the ass, allegedly.
- 41:47Speaker 2: Oh, really?
- 41:49Speaker 1: But who knows? Right. You know, if this person's not
- 41:51Speaker 1: a movie maker and they're like, this is so overwhelming
- 41:54Speaker 1: to see these big stars and Lindsay Lohan is playing,
- 41:57Speaker 1: you know, the lead character and all that kind of stuff. So.
- 42:00Speaker 2: I mean, there's nothing that I don't understand. I mean, there's,
- 42:02Speaker 2: I totally understand her being bitter about it.
- 42:05Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 42:06Speaker 2: Making other people more money than her, you know.
- 42:09Speaker 1: And especially if, 20 years ago, you know, she may
- 42:12Speaker 1: have gone on to write other things, but this is
- 42:14Speaker 1: the pinnacle of her career. This is the thing that
- 42:17Speaker 1: became really popular. She might, and I don't know, might
- 42:19Speaker 1: have had three other books that just did okay. But
- 42:22Speaker 1: sometimes you have that one hit and it's so big
- 42:25Speaker 1: and you're like, I should be able to be living
- 42:27Speaker 1: off this for the rest of my life, but I'm not.
- 42:29Speaker 2: Right. But I don't know that if you, yeah. And
- 42:31Speaker 2: because you can't really go back and change what you
- 42:35Speaker 2: made as a contract, right? So then you have to.
- 42:37Speaker 1: Either- But I mean, what's really interesting is like Reese
- 42:40Speaker 1: Witherspoon and especially Reese Witherspoon, she went and bought the
- 42:48Speaker 1: rights to all these books. And that's her production company.
- 42:52Speaker 1: And I'm sure those people are getting compensated fine. But still,
- 42:57Speaker 1: who's to say that one of those books is not
- 42:59Speaker 1: going to be Breakfast at Tiffany's or Mean Girls? We
- 43:02Speaker 1: don't know. And then, you know, but what was smart
- 43:05Speaker 1: is that that's how she built this big company that
- 43:08Speaker 1: I think sold for like a billion dollars because there's
- 43:10Speaker 1: so much content. And I remember when, you know, that's
- 43:15Speaker 1: why there's like original screenplay and there's adaptations for a
- 43:19Speaker 1: screenplay from a book or whatever. Yeah. It's a whole
- 43:21Speaker 1: different category for writing. And when it was completely your
- 43:26Speaker 1: idea from scratch versus like you got it from an
- 43:28Speaker 1: article or you got it from a book.
- 43:31Speaker 2: I wonder what, um, I was thinking about this the
- 43:33Speaker 2: other day because I wonder what it's like for the
- 43:35Speaker 2: woman that wrote You, right? Because that's based off of
- 43:40Speaker 2: her first book that I think was called You, Caroline.
- 43:43Speaker 1: The series, which is on Netflix. Yeah.
- 43:45Speaker 2: Caroline Kepnes, I want to say is her name. I
- 43:47Speaker 2: might totally have that wrong. I remember reading the book,
- 43:50Speaker 2: but now it's gone on to however many seasons and
- 43:53Speaker 2: they're way past what she wrote, but they're still using
- 43:56Speaker 2: the same characters. And I know she's still accredited as
- 43:59Speaker 2: like based on her, but I just wonder, does it go, okay,
- 44:01Speaker 2: do they now say, If it goes into season two,
- 44:04Speaker 2: you're still getting... If it goes into... You know, who knows?
- 44:07Speaker 2: I mean, they're probably doing that more now than they were, obviously,
- 44:10Speaker 2: when this woman.
- 44:11Speaker 1: Right. Well, speaking of you, I ran... I was at
- 44:16Speaker 1: Lala Kent's daughter's party, Ocean's party. And Amber, who was
- 44:22Speaker 1: the lead in the first series, the first season of You,
- 44:26Speaker 1: the first girl he gets obsessed with. Yeah.
- 44:29Speaker 2: And.
- 44:30Speaker 1: Lala's like, do you know Amber? And I go, no,
- 44:32Speaker 1: we've never met, but I loved you in you. And
- 44:35Speaker 1: I go, to be honest, I'm not into the season.
- 44:38Speaker 1: Have you, are you watching it? Season four? Yeah.
- 44:40Speaker 2: I like it.
- 44:41Speaker 1: You do like it. Should I give it another chance?
- 44:43Speaker 1: Because when I started to watch it now they're in
- 44:45Speaker 1: England and it's like all these other people might be murderers.
- 44:49Speaker 1: And I'm like, I felt like it was so different
- 44:50Speaker 1: than the first, Two or three seasons. Like, it feels
- 44:54Speaker 1: like a whole different thing. It is different, but I
- 44:57Speaker 1: kind of like that about it, I think. I just
- 44:58Speaker 1: like that it sort of branched out because I feel
- 45:00Speaker 1: like it probably would have gotten maybe too repetitive otherwise.
- 45:03Speaker 2: So I was, I mean, I don't know. I mean,
- 45:06Speaker 2: that's what I was kind of saying about her deviating
- 45:09Speaker 2: so far probably from, I mean, I don't know if
- 45:11Speaker 2: she's written a book that they're now basing these off
- 45:13Speaker 2: of or what. But yeah, I do like it. I
- 45:17Speaker 2: think it's good.
- 45:18Speaker 1: Or it's like, you know, it's also like The Conners.
- 45:22Speaker 1: It was called Roseanne. It was based on Roseanne's life,
- 45:25Speaker 1: Roseanne's character as a comedian, her whole thing. The show
- 45:30Speaker 1: goes forever. It comes back as Roseanne. And then when
- 45:36Speaker 1: she got canceled for her tweets and got kicked off,
- 45:40Speaker 1: they're like, we're just going to call it The Conners now.
- 45:42Speaker 1: But it's all those characters. The girls playing her daughters
- 45:47Speaker 1: were based on the way she talked about her daughters
- 45:50Speaker 1: on stage.
- 45:52Speaker 2: That's true. So I wonder if she still, but she
- 45:54Speaker 2: must still have some kind of name on that.
- 45:57Speaker 4: Right.
- 45:57Speaker 2: As far as.
- 45:58Speaker 1: I don't know the legal thing, but there was, I
- 46:01Speaker 1: remember reading that there is some kind of interesting gray
- 46:04Speaker 1: area in that, that they, that they must've had something
- 46:08Speaker 1: in there that they could get rid of her. And
- 46:09Speaker 1: it's not like the show has to stop. Right. And
- 46:11Speaker 1: I think they just like, never, I don't, I don't
- 46:13Speaker 1: watch it now. So I don't know if they like,
- 46:15Speaker 1: just never talk about her or like, Her character or
- 46:18Speaker 1: ever say her name or what?
- 46:21Speaker 2: I don't know either, but it'd be weird to have
- 46:23Speaker 2: something you created, then you get knocked out of it.
- 46:27Speaker 1: Giselle is riding horses with this hot guy. There's some
- 46:33Speaker 1: dating rumors. Okay, the reason she felt she had to
- 46:38Speaker 1: do this is because Daily Mail got photos of her
- 46:40Speaker 1: on a horse ride, which... It looks, in the photo,
- 46:44Speaker 1: it looks like he's on a very small horse.
- 46:46Speaker 2: It does look like he's got the short horse.
- 46:48Speaker 1: The short horse is like a pony ride where it's
- 46:50Speaker 1: got a string where you go around and around for
- 46:52Speaker 1: a kid's party. And he doesn't look very happy, but whatever.
- 46:54Speaker 1: He's on a horse. And she looks like she's more
- 46:58Speaker 1: active in this still shot. She knows how to ride
- 47:01Speaker 1: a horse for many reasons. But anyway. So he is
- 47:06Speaker 1: a hotel magnate. He's a billionaire. He looks pretty young.
- 47:10Speaker 1: He looks pretty cute.
- 47:12Speaker 2: And.
- 47:13Speaker 1: And he was the ex-husband of Elle MacPherson, who is
- 47:17Speaker 1: a supermodel. Right. So he went from one supermodel to another,
- 47:21Speaker 1: and she went from Tom Brady, who I don't think
- 47:24Speaker 1: he's a billionaire, but he has a lot of money,
- 47:26Speaker 1: to him. Which is what I always say, where I
- 47:29Speaker 1: feel like kind of these elite people will date each
- 47:34Speaker 1: other's exes. They kind of want the ex-billionaire, ex-supermodel.
- 47:38Speaker 2: Yeah, because what are you going to do if you're Giselle?
- 47:40Speaker 2: Date the guy at the deli? You know what I mean? Like,
- 47:42Speaker 2: it's going to.
- 47:43Speaker 1: Right.
- 47:44Speaker 2: I mean, you could, but it's going to be... Well,
- 47:46Speaker 2: she was.
- 47:47Speaker 1: Originally, people thought she was dating the karate guy. Right.
- 47:51Speaker 1: Who were her kids' karate instructor. Oh, right. But I
- 47:53Speaker 1: don't think so. I think she just brought the karate
- 47:56Speaker 1: instructor because she can and she wanted the kids to, like,
- 47:58Speaker 1: have something to do.
- 47:59Speaker 2: I mean, I actually would suggest her just dates, like,
- 48:02Speaker 2: the guy from the deli. I don't know who this
- 48:03Speaker 2: person is that I keep making up, the guy from
- 48:05Speaker 2: the deli. But it's like, Because she has enough money
- 48:08Speaker 2: that it's like you want someone at your level, but
- 48:11Speaker 2: she has enough money. She can be like, I don't
- 48:12Speaker 2: need you at my level. I can pay for everything.
- 48:14Speaker 2: Let's just hang out. Like you don't necessarily have to
- 48:16Speaker 2: get it messy with another billionaire and a MacPherson ex.
- 48:20Speaker 2: And then you got to run into each other at
- 48:21Speaker 2: the runway shows or whatever it is models do.
- 48:24Speaker 1: But it's so much better if your ex is Tom
- 48:27Speaker 1: Brady and you're like, oh, here's my billionaire ex. That
- 48:32Speaker 1: also dated, like, a hot, gorgeous woman or was married
- 48:36Speaker 1: to a hot, gorgeous woman. Right. Like, let me shove
- 48:38Speaker 1: it in your face as we go on this horseback
- 48:41Speaker 1: riding trip.
- 48:42Speaker 2: That's true.
- 48:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 48:45Speaker 2: I mean. He's not.
- 48:46Speaker 1: We haven't seen him dating anyone.
- 48:47Speaker 2: No, not yet.
- 48:48Speaker 1: He did the thirst trap photo that was, like, pretty disturbing.
- 48:50Speaker 2: He did. He did do it. And I guess it
- 48:53Speaker 2: was some kind of bet, but yeah.
- 48:54Speaker 1: Oh, it was a bet now? Oh, you have some
- 48:56Speaker 1: inside football scoop for me?
- 48:58Speaker 2: No, I just read it somewhere because I was like,
- 48:59Speaker 2: I've never seen him do anything like this. It's so weird.
- 49:02Speaker 2: And then I saw that he tagged maybe a company
- 49:07Speaker 2: that he either owns, I forget what it is, but
- 49:10Speaker 2: I remember going to that page and then kind of
- 49:12Speaker 2: being like, okay, you know, I did it like I
- 49:14Speaker 2: said I would. Some kind of bet that he lost.
- 49:17Speaker 2: We all lost a bet that day, I feel like,
- 49:19Speaker 2: we had to see that. I mean, obviously the man,
- 49:22Speaker 2: handsome man, nice body, but it was just a, seems
- 49:25Speaker 2: so out of character for him.
- 49:26Speaker 1: Right. And it's what I always say. It's just like, oh,
- 49:29Speaker 1: you too. You have to stoop to our level. Like
- 49:32Speaker 1: leave it for the, leave it for the thirsty. Yeah.
- 49:35Speaker 1: Like we don't, you don't need to. Yeah. we know
- 49:39Speaker 1: it's not like he had to show his new, like
- 49:41Speaker 1: worked out body. Like, whoa, Tom Brady must've joined 24
- 49:46Speaker 1: hour fitness. Like we know you have a good body. Yeah.
- 49:49Speaker 2: Like play football.
- 49:50Speaker 1: Yeah. You've been like the quarterback. Oh, poor, poor JLo
- 49:55Speaker 1: and Ben. They cannot find a $ 64 million house to
- 50:00Speaker 1: save their life. Boy, that's rough. They had to drop
- 50:04Speaker 1: out of escrow once again. This is the third home.
- 50:09Speaker 1: My God. Just a young couple.
- 50:12Speaker 2: Trying to buy a house in California. Trying to get
- 50:14Speaker 2: their first home together.
- 50:15Speaker 1: Got any mortgage brokers, juicy scoopers that can help this
- 50:19Speaker 1: couple out? They have fallen out of escrow three times.
- 50:23Speaker 1: This is the third one in the last year. So
- 50:25Speaker 1: now- They couldn't find, first they had a really gorgeous, modern,
- 50:29Speaker 1: brand new kind of farmhouse, modern house in Palisades. That
- 50:33Speaker 1: was gone. Now there's this one is gone. Now they're
- 50:35Speaker 1: looking at Homely Hills, which is like a very fancy
- 50:39Speaker 1: part of LA.
- 50:40Speaker 2: Oh, it's in California. Okay, it is California.
- 50:43Speaker 1: Isn't it kind of like Hancock Park area?
- 50:45Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe.
- 50:46Speaker 1: I don't know. Anyway, I would have done the Palisades.
- 50:49Speaker 1: I would have stuck with the Palisades. But you know what?
- 50:51Speaker 1: They didn't ask me.
- 50:52Speaker 2: That's right. They didn't. And you do have, you know,
- 50:54Speaker 2: you have real estate history.
- 50:55Speaker 1: I do. And he did recently respond about that Grammy
- 51:01Speaker 1: moment where they were caught on camera where she was like, stop.
- 51:06Speaker 1: You know?
- 51:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 51:07Speaker 1: And he said what happened was he said he thought
- 51:12Speaker 1: it would like be fun. And Trevor Noah was approaching.
- 51:15Speaker 1: So he was like, oh, God, they're framing us in
- 51:18Speaker 1: the shot. And but he didn't really know they were rolling.
- 51:20Speaker 1: So he leaned in and was like, as soon as
- 51:22Speaker 1: they start rolling, I'm going to slide away from you.
- 51:25Speaker 1: And leave you sitting here next to Trevor and I
- 51:28Speaker 1: can like go to the bathroom and I think have
- 51:29Speaker 1: a cigarette.
- 51:30Speaker 2: Okay.
- 51:30Speaker 3: Right.
- 51:32Speaker 1: And then she goes, you better fucking not leave. And
- 51:35Speaker 1: that's what we saw.
- 51:37Speaker 2: Oh, I believe that.
- 51:39Speaker 1: I remember thinking, you know, he says he's gone to
- 51:43Speaker 1: events in the past and been drunk and bored and pissed,
- 51:45Speaker 1: but this was not the case. So he's like, yes,
- 51:49Speaker 1: I can see why people thought that because I've been
- 51:51Speaker 1: a grumpy, drunk, you know. He was like, I was
- 51:54Speaker 1: just trying to do a funny thing. He just was like, oh,
- 51:55Speaker 1: this is perfect. Like, he's going to come in and
- 51:57Speaker 1: then I'm going to, like, he's going to come in.
- 51:59Speaker 1: I see they're framing us for something. He's going to
- 52:01Speaker 1: probably give, like, a one-on-one interview with you. So let
- 52:04Speaker 1: me leave so you can do that because I don't care. Right.
- 52:06Speaker 2: And she's like, no, don't leave my side.
- 52:09Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. But what I remember seeing and thinking.
- 52:11Speaker 2: It didn't look like she was that. It looked more like, no, no, no,
- 52:14Speaker 2: you don't do that.
- 52:15Speaker 1: It's like. Or like I thought he was saying something
- 52:18Speaker 1: like obnoxious. The people doing memes that he like farted
- 52:22Speaker 1: or was like, I'm going to fart. And she was like,
- 52:25Speaker 1: you know, just like you would with your husband. So
- 52:28Speaker 1: I'm glad that he addressed it. Yeah. Yeah.
- 52:30Speaker 2: Well, he probably got sick of reading about how grumpy
- 52:32Speaker 2: he seems. He's probably like, all right, guys, you know,
- 52:35Speaker 2: just leave me alone. Let me let me be grumpy.
- 52:37Speaker 1: What he should have said is like, I was grumpy
- 52:41Speaker 1: because the next day we had to go get into
- 52:43Speaker 1: a realtor's car again.
- 52:45Speaker 2: And fall out of $ 64 million escrow.
- 52:47Speaker 1: And just find a house that, you know, had what
- 52:50Speaker 1: we needed.
- 52:50Speaker 2: Now, why do they drop out of escrow? Can you
- 52:53Speaker 2: tell me how that works?
- 52:55Speaker 1: They did not explain, but normally, you know, you put
- 53:00Speaker 1: down your money and you have a contingency period where
- 53:04Speaker 1: you can, you know, make sure that the house is okay.
- 53:08Speaker 1: And then, and if you're getting a loan, whatever the hell.
- 53:12Speaker 1: But there isn't a lot of window. And if you
- 53:15Speaker 1: wait too long, then you lose your deposit. And, you know,
- 53:19Speaker 1: if it's in a competitive market, when you watch like real,
- 53:23Speaker 1: you know, million dollar listing and stuff, it's always like
- 53:26Speaker 1: no contingencies, all cash, close in seven days. Those people
- 53:30Speaker 1: can't drop out. But in a $ 64 million house situation,
- 53:34Speaker 1: which I'm sure there's not a lot of buyers, there
- 53:35Speaker 1: must have been a little bit of a leeway in
- 53:37Speaker 1: which then they changed their mind for whatever reason.
- 53:39Speaker 2: So that's them dropping out. It's not like their credit
- 53:43Speaker 2: check didn't go through.
- 53:45Speaker 1: It wasn't like, wow, Jen and Ben, we found out
- 53:48Speaker 1: that you don't have an 800. And what is this
- 53:51Speaker 1: Macy's bill? There's a $ 35. I didn't even know I
- 53:56Speaker 1: had a Macy's card. Motherfucker, Jen. Yeah. No, I don't
- 54:00Speaker 1: think that was the case. So good luck to them.
- 54:04Speaker 1: This is sad. This guy is a model. And he
- 54:09Speaker 1: fell out of his Skyrise building.
- 54:11Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 54:12Speaker 1: Where? But they think it was because she was taking
- 54:15Speaker 1: a selfie. And I think so, too.
- 54:18Speaker 2: Yeah, I was going to say it looks like it's
- 54:19Speaker 2: in Florida.
- 54:20Speaker 1: Based on his body and everything. So his agent says
- 54:25Speaker 1: he thinks it was accidental because they were texting just
- 54:28Speaker 1: 24 hours before and he sounded happy. And they were
- 54:30Speaker 1: joking about an upcoming audition. And he was in his
- 54:33Speaker 1: own apartment tower in Miami. He was only 35. They
- 54:36Speaker 1: had scheduled to chat and check up on Friday. And
- 54:40Speaker 1: he was so proud of him for his move to Miami.
- 54:42Speaker 1: Couldn't wait to tell her all about it. And then
- 54:45Speaker 1: his brother posted on Facebook that this was a suicide
- 54:48Speaker 1: due to his battle with mental illness. So we don't know.
- 54:50Speaker 1: And they're working on it. Whether he took his own
- 54:54Speaker 1: life or not.
- 54:55Speaker 2: So crazy. He fell out a window, so obviously, initially,
- 54:59Speaker 2: they thought he jumped, and the agent is saying... Well,
- 55:02Speaker 2: I'll be honest. Which one? Do you want your agent
- 55:05Speaker 2: stepping in and saying, no, I think he was taking
- 55:07Speaker 2: a selfie?
- 55:08Speaker 1: I don't know which one's worse.
- 55:09Speaker 2: I know. I mean, I'm not trying to... It's awful, but, like,
- 55:14Speaker 2: do you... No, it's... Do you want your legacy to be...
- 55:19Speaker 2: I mean, never mind. I should say, it's all terrible,
- 55:23Speaker 2: but it just seems, like, Well, listen.
- 55:26Speaker 1: The amount of video and awful things out there of people, kids,
- 55:33Speaker 1: trying to just take TikTok's photos on like risky things.
- 55:36Speaker 2: Yes, it does freak me out.
- 55:38Speaker 1: When I went to the Grand Canyon many, many years ago,
- 55:42Speaker 1: I bought a book on like Grand Canyon deaths. And
- 55:48Speaker 1: the amount of people that like went an extra step
- 55:53Speaker 1: like over the thing. To take a photo or how
- 55:57Speaker 1: people's wives accidentally wanted to walk around the edge at night. Yeah.
- 56:04Speaker 1: Because once you go off of there, there's no, no
- 56:07Speaker 1: one's ever going to find you to get your body.
- 56:09Speaker 1: Like there's no way to even get it. So, yeah,
- 56:14Speaker 1: I mean, but people do that. They want that perfect shot.
- 56:17Speaker 1: They want that.
- 56:18Speaker 2: Yeah, I see it. You see it too often. I mean,
- 56:21Speaker 2: it's kind of. You can be entertained when it's like
- 56:23Speaker 2: influencers in the wild and it's just someone doing something
- 56:25Speaker 2: really stupid. We were in Mexico and we saw these girls.
- 56:31Speaker 2: They kept going on. It was like a washed out,
- 56:33Speaker 2: half of a washed out like boardwalk thing, right? So
- 56:36Speaker 2: it had caution tape around it, but it's like this
- 56:39Speaker 2: really pretty view right in the middle of the water.
- 56:42Speaker 2: So everyone wants to get on there to take a photo.
- 56:44Speaker 2: But it's clearly saying don't do it. It's half broken.
- 56:48Speaker 2: You're going to fall, whatever. It's caution tape, whatever. This
- 56:52Speaker 2: poor guy working at this hotel all day had to
- 56:54Speaker 2: keep going and telling people to get off of there
- 56:56Speaker 2: because they just wanted a fucking Instagram shot.
- 56:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 57:00Speaker 2: And then we saw it happen. This one guy was
- 57:02Speaker 2: just like just the guy working the beach. He was
- 57:05Speaker 2: just like, just forget it. I'm just going to let
- 57:07Speaker 2: these assholes do what they want because they're clearly it
- 57:09Speaker 2: was like a mom and her and her daughter. I mean,
- 57:12Speaker 2: it was like, I don't know, probably like 60 years
- 57:15Speaker 2: old or something. And like her 20 something year old daughter.
- 57:17Speaker 2: And they kept defying him. He'd walk away, and then
- 57:21Speaker 2: they'd run up and try to get over the Kasha tapes. Well,
- 57:23Speaker 2: and then they get up there. What happens? They go
- 57:25Speaker 2: flying into the ocean. It collapsed underneath. I mean, it
- 57:28Speaker 2: was shallow, and they didn't get hurt. But, I mean,
- 57:31Speaker 2: I laughed my ass off.
- 57:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 57:32Speaker 2: Because he's told you 16 times.
- 57:34Speaker 1: And then you were like, gone. I'm going to go
- 57:37Speaker 1: over it. Just real quick. I mean, much quicker than them.
- 57:40Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 57:41Speaker 2: I did try to get photos of it for you.
- 57:44Speaker 2: influencers in the wild, but I was too fast. I
- 57:46Speaker 2: was too slow.
- 57:47Speaker 1: You're too. Speaking of influencers, Blac Chyna has removed some
- 57:52Speaker 1: of the filler from her face. Everyone thinks she looks great.
- 57:57Speaker 1: And she already removed her butt filler.
- 57:59Speaker 2: How do you get that removed? She looks younger, doesn't she? Yeah.
- 58:03Speaker 2: Is that from removing the filler, you think? I didn't
- 58:06Speaker 2: even know you could remove filler, to be honest.
- 58:09Speaker 1: Oh, really? No, I guess you can. I don't know
- 58:12Speaker 1: how they can find it, but whatever they do. Then
- 58:14Speaker 1: this guy got buckle fat removed. You know what buckle
- 58:16Speaker 1: fat is?
- 58:17Speaker 2: No.
- 58:18Speaker 1: That's when people want to have cheekbones. They just take
- 58:21Speaker 1: this part out.
- 58:22Speaker 2: Okay.
- 58:22Speaker 1: But then the problem is, if you do that as
- 58:25Speaker 1: like a young, you know, 25-year-old, you might look real
- 58:28Speaker 1: chic and model-y, but then at 35, you're going to
- 58:31Speaker 1: want that buckle fat back. Right.
- 58:34Speaker 2: I think that's what people forget, like when they try
- 58:36Speaker 2: things too young. As I'm all, do whatever you want.
- 58:39Speaker 2: I'm all for it.
- 58:39Speaker 1: Right, yeah.
- 58:40Speaker 2: But- But just remember, you're probably going to want to
- 58:44Speaker 2: tweak stuff when you're older, not so much when you're younger.
- 58:46Speaker 1: So, wait, what is this cat's name? Liam Payne, and
- 58:51Speaker 1: he's from One Direction.
- 58:52Speaker 2: Did you say, what is this cat's name?
- 58:53Speaker 1: Yeah. He's from One Direction. And now, I guess they
- 58:59Speaker 1: think the bottom of his face has changed. Whatever he's done,
- 59:02Speaker 1: it looks good.
- 59:03Speaker 2: I was going to say, I like it. I think
- 59:04Speaker 2: it looks good. I think it looks good. That's a
- 59:05Speaker 2: very good chiseling.
- 59:06Speaker 1: Some people need to get their buccal fat removed.
- 59:08Speaker 2: Yeah, whatever it is. is, it's a nice chiseling situation.
- 59:14Speaker 1: Amy Robach finalized her divorce with Andrew Hsu. It only
- 59:17Speaker 1: took a few months. And she and... TJ Holmes.
- 59:22Speaker 2: Forbidden lover.
- 59:22Speaker 1: They did run the marathon. You remember that? And part
- 59:25Speaker 1: of the reason that is alleged like that they broke up,
- 59:28Speaker 1: that she and Andrew Hsu broke up and that she
- 59:30Speaker 1: fell in love with TJ Holmes is that Andrew Hsu
- 59:33Speaker 1: was not as supportive of her running endeavors. And TJ
- 59:37Speaker 1: also ran. So they run together and they did the
- 59:39Speaker 1: marathon together. Now, the other part of this divorce is.
- 59:45Speaker 1: That's interesting. And supposedly they're getting a show and doing
- 59:47Speaker 1: a deal together, whatever. They're in love. They got kicked
- 59:50Speaker 1: off Good Morning America. But, you know, they did.
- 59:52Speaker 2: They got fired.
- 59:53Speaker 1: Right. I know they they settled out and they were
- 59:56Speaker 1: like she did like the jump in his arm. So
- 59:59Speaker 1: whatever money they got, they were happy with. And I
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: guess she got more than he because I think she
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: was on longer and because she'd only had one affair
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: and he had multiples.
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: So they've just bought them out because they were like,
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: this is too much for us.
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: It was a closed-door mediation.
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: To me, I'm like, wouldn't you just keep them on,
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: people tuning in every day to see how they're doing
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: kind of thing? Or maybe they want it out. Who knows?
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: I just think that it was such a mess morally
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: when they found out that he'd had two other affairs
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: with girls that had worked there prior to her, one
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: being a married producer and one being a 23-year-old intern
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: or whatever.
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: Oh, didn't know that.
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: Then it was like, ugh. We just need to get
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: these people gone.
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: Got it. Yeah.
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: But anyway, one of the things about their now breakup,
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: she and Andrew Shue, now they have, they don't have any,
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: can you see if they have kids together? I believe
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: he brought two boys and she brought two girls into
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: the marriage. Right. And now they're divorced. But one thing
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: I know for sure they have is a dog. Oh.
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: And they are going to share custody of the dog.
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: And we were talking about this because in the breakup
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: of the Vanderpump kids, they don't have, okay, they don't
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: have any biological kids together and the kids are kind
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: of older. So that's a clean break.
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: But the dog, they're supposedly going to share Castillo. And
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: Annie and I were talking about how the Vanderpump breakup,
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: there's been couples that have broken up and gotten divorced.
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: And there's been issues of, can I see the dog?
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: Or we are going to set a schedule for the dog.
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: And I just want, I'm sure this is more of
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: an LA thing than anywhere else because people are insane
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: about their dog. But why would you want to do this?
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: Why you got to let the baby go to somebody else?
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: Like you be the bigger person and let your, whoever
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: was initially, whoever the main person is. Now you have
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: a cat. Two. Okay.
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: Why so aggressive? We've got two cats.
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: If something was to happen to you and John. OK,
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: God forbid. Did you have to so that you would
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: each take your favorite or are you going to be
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: full blown cat mom or is he going to full
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: blown cat dad and you're going to move on clean
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: slate and never visit those cats again?
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: I mean, this one, this is this is why I
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: can see why this is a problem for them, because
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: I don't know. I would normally have thought that it
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: would just say I would just keep the cats and
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: he wouldn't care. But now he's like obsessed with the cats.
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: So I don't know. I mean, if I cheated, I
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: guess maybe I'd let him take one cat because I'd
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: feel guilty. And then I'd take the newer one because
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: she's not as lovey-dovey. And he's obsessed with Ralphie. So
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: maybe if he cheated, I'm taking both cats.
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: Yeah, let him be alone.
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: Yeah, let him just be alone and sad. And if
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: we just get a divorce just because, then I guess...
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: Each take one. Just each take one. It just seems
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: like a lot of work to have to like stay
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: in touch with that person. If you don't have children
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: and then you have to then like see them every
- 1:03:06Speaker 2: day and be like, hey, I want to take, you know,
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: Pippi for a walk.
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: And then imagine like your new partner being like, really, dude,
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: like you really have to go meet Sarah at the vet. Like,
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: come on, like enough. Like, I just think like a
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: divorce is like so bad or a breakup is so
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: bad that like, I do kind of think of, remember
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: that story from the Bible where this woman, her baby
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: was stolen by this other woman and she kept saying,
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: it's my baby. And the other lady goes, it's my baby.
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: And so, um, the whatever, the elder in the town
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: holds up the baby and he goes, okay, well I'll
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: cut it in half. Then you can each have part
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: of it. And then the woman who jumps up and says, then,
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: then forget it. Let her have it. And he goes,
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: now that's the real mother. So the more selfless person.
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: So I do feel even with these pets, like just
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: be as long as.
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: I feel like nobody would have let them cut the
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: baby in half. I do feel like just because the
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: one woman spoke up first doesn't mean the other woman
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: wasn't going to say the same thing.
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: Yeah. We'll never know.
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: But no, but yeah, you got it.
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: You got it. I, yeah, I think it's just a lot.
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: And I just think, Like, you know, in my relationship,
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: Raven is just completely weirdly obsessed. I think it's weird,
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: but I mean, I'm not a dog.
- 1:04:34Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: They have lots of dogs have like a primary human.
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: And if, if he's not around, she's cool. She'll go
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: for a walk. If she sees me in a pair
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: of tennis shoes, like she gets excited for that. But
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: if he's around, she has to follow him. She has
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: to wait outside the door when he takes the shower.
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: She has to, you know? Okay.
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: So she's, so if, so of course he.
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: Can have her. Yeah. I would never, you know, even
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: if he cheated, I would never, cause that's how selfless
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: I am about Raven. I would not torture Raven just
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: because if Peter cheated, I wouldn't go, I'm keeping the
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: dog to torture Peter because I would also be torturing Raven.
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: And yourself, because you would be like, this dog doesn't
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: even really like me. And I know that she misses Peter. Yeah.
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: Why would I do that? That's just like cruel. So
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: I think, As much as it is, you have to
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: be the bigger person. There's one person that either is
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: more into the dog or the dog is more into
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: them or they have a better situation for raising it.
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: Like maybe one has the house and one goes off
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: to an apartment. Yeah. Like let the person with the
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: house and the yard keep the dog.
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: It's like I do get it because it would be
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: so hard for me to give up one of my animals.
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: But I just think at the end of the day,
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: it becomes more stressful.
- 1:05:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:05:47Speaker 2: For you guys to have to see each other. Like
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: there's no way that Andrew's shoe is like excited to
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: have to see her all the time. Cause he probably
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: hates her because she cheated on him publicly and right.
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: And humiliated.
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: And she's like, um, can you bring the dog with
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: some flowers at the finish line of the New York marathon?
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: When TJ and I cross, can you imagine if he
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: did do that? I like that scene from, um, that
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: scene from flash dance at the end of the movie,
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: when she tries out to audition for the ballet. And
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: then she comes out, and the guy, who, by the way,
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: was like 38, and she was only 18 in the
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: movie Flashdance. Remember, she was a welder dancer. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: And she comes running out, and he's there, and the
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: dog's got a bow around his neck and flowers. Oh, right.
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: And it was her dog.
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: Well. He could have done that.
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: I sure could have.
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: This is really juicy. I've talked a lot about this
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: Teen Vogue article. about influencer parents and the kids who
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: had their childhood made into content. So there is this
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: girl who's remaining anonymous who does this interview where her
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: parents started to do a YouTube when she was very young.
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: And so now she's almost 18. And she says, once
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: I turned 18, I am cutting off all ties with
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: my parents. This has been awful. Every single thing in
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: my life has been documented. And put out there when
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: I didn't want it. And when we became successful as
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: a YouTuber family, both the parents quit their jobs and
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: bought a nicer house. And so when there's been times
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: where she said, please, I don't want to do the videos.
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: I don't want to be exposed. At one time, this
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: is like before TikTok and stuff, somebody... you know, saw
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: her riding her bike and that, that man knew that
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: she was the kid from YouTube and like, it was
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: scary and everything. And then the parents would say, well,
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: if you do that, then we are, you're going to
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: have to leave your school and your siblings won't get
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: to do these activities. And we're going to have to
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: sell this house and mom and I are going to
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: have to go back and do, get jobs. So, you know,
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: you don't have a choice. Like this is our, this
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: is our life now.
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: All based off of you.
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: Like, we've created this thing without your consent.
- 1:08:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: Because it's like, I think it's really different than a
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: child actor. Because a child actor, even if they got
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: pushed into it by the mom or dad, they're still
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: playing a role. They're not being themselves in their own home.
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: They still can leave the Disney set and go home
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: and be their own name and do their own thing.
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: And then there's the Coogan laws, which protect them with money. They,
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: and how many hours they can work and all of that.
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: But this is nothing. So there's different rules now, I
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: think in a few different States that are not rules,
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: but initiatives laws that are coming out where people are
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: saying like, these kids have to have, there has to
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: be some laws in place about how much they, the
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: consent and the money and the income from like this stuff.
- 1:08:53Speaker 2: Okay. So actually this makes me think of something. So
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: do you know who Jamie Otis is?
- 1:08:57Speaker 4: Mm-mm.
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: Well, I'm a Married at First Sight expert, as you know.
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: Okay, yes, you are.
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: As I have a podcast on it. And she... So she's, like,
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: the OG, like, when it... I think from the first season.
- 1:09:08Speaker 2: So she was kind of famous for... Not famous, but
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: in Married at First Sight world for being... Like when
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: her husband walked down the aisle, she was like horrified.
- 1:09:16Speaker 2: She hated him. She wasn't attracted to him. Because it's
- 1:09:18Speaker 2: love at first sight. So she didn't like what the
- 1:09:20Speaker 2: sight was. But then it turned out that she fell
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: in love with him. And they're still together all these
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: years later. And they have kids. So she's very much
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: like a very big oversharer, in my opinion, on Instagram.
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: But whatever. It's not my business what she wants to post.
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: But I saw this yesterday. So because one time she
- 1:09:36Speaker 2: had posted this thing about her husband, Doug. And she
- 1:09:39Speaker 2: was like, she's one of those people that her every
- 1:09:41Speaker 2: post is like, paragraph after paragraph, right? So she had
- 1:09:45Speaker 2: written this thing one time that I thought, not my business.
- 1:09:48Speaker 2: Maybe her husband said it's fine, but she was like,
- 1:09:50Speaker 2: you know, nobody knows this. But when we first got together,
- 1:09:53Speaker 2: Doug had all this debt and we weren't able to
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: buy a house and my life was ruined, like kind
- 1:09:57Speaker 2: of like humiliating him in my opinion.
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: But whatever. And, but then, so she posts her kids
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: a lot. And yesterday or two to a couple of
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: days ago, the kids, Uh, they're, I mean, small. One
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: of them's like not potty trained. Okay. Like three maybe
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: or something. She said, I think she said there were
- 1:10:14Speaker 2: potty training issues. I don't know. Again, she, whatever.
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: Now that kid's going to grow up and everyone's going
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: to know that you, you, you know, you were in
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: a diaper at three and a half.
- 1:10:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: And wait till you hear. So then they're at like
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: a hot tub at an apartment complex that look like,
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: and she's, she basically posted her, her kid shit in
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: the hot tub. And she wanted to get him out
- 1:10:35Speaker 2: of there fast so he wasn't embarrassed. And then she
- 1:10:40Speaker 2: posts him crying. She posts caution tape. She posts like
- 1:10:43Speaker 2: a shot of his poopy diaper. Like she posted. And
- 1:10:49Speaker 2: I actually, I've never commented on something like this. And
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: I was like, you don't want him to be embarrassed.
- 1:10:52Speaker 2: You have to like, the internet's forever. He's not a
- 1:10:56Speaker 2: kid forever. When he grows up in a few years,
- 1:10:58Speaker 2: he's going to be like, do you have to really?
- 1:11:00Speaker 2: And then other people are like, oh, it's just a kid.
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: What kids poop? And Who cares? But it's like, he
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: didn't get to decide that you post a video of
- 1:11:08Speaker 2: him bawling red face, caution tape up. Like, I think
- 1:11:12Speaker 2: that's a little, in my opinion, it was, I don't
- 1:11:15Speaker 2: think that's appropriate, but it's also not my business what
- 1:11:17Speaker 2: she wants to post. I get that. But I just,
- 1:11:19Speaker 2: that kind of stuff, I feel like.
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: I think it's really interesting because it's like, like a
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: long time ago, my mom loved this writer named Irma Bomback.
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: And she was this mom from the, From the East
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: Coast and she had five kids and she would write
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: the funniest stories about her life and her teenagers. And like,
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: I remember reading this funny thing that she got like
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: a pornographic call and she was so excited just to
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: talk to someone other than her kids. And it was
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: like these really funny comedic essays, you know? And I
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: was like, oh my God, I remember that book. So
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: when I was writing my books and stuff about being
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: a mom, I was like, you know, this was kind
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: of the pioneer of this. And then, of course, we
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: talk about our lives on stage and you could tell
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: a story like about it on stage. And I do
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: think that's really different than actually video documenting the subject
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: at that age. Yeah.
- 1:12:12Speaker 2: I just think like it is.
- 1:12:13Speaker 3: It's.
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:12:15Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: Because it's like also as a standup or a writer,
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: we're taking creative control. It doesn't mean this happened exactly
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: this way. Or my kid said this exact same words
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: because we're writers and performers.
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: And people know that. And you're, and, and I, I
- 1:12:30Speaker 2: do think there's a difference, but they're, Yeah. When it's
- 1:12:32Speaker 2: like to actually video like his butt and poop and like,
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: you know, him crying, like I just felt bad for
- 1:12:37Speaker 2: the cat. I was like, that doesn't again, she's his mom.
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: It's up to her. It's not.
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: But I just I know. But I mean, I guess
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: it's up to her. But then it's also up. It's
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: also up to us as a society to say, you know, no,
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: this isn't OK. And maybe as a parent, you haven't
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: really thought it all the way through because we everybody's
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: doing it and it's become your income. And you're reliant
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: on things happening that you think, oh, won't this be relatable?
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: But in the way of you sharing it, I mean,
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: had she gone in her car and been like, I
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: don't know why I'm going to say it with a
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: Southern accent, but I'm just going to say it like this.
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: And she was like, girl, we just left the Wolf Lodge.
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: If that wasn't a shit show, let me tell you why. Yeah.
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: And just said it. I think that would be totally different.
- 1:13:23Speaker 2: Than filming him in the aftermath.
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: And even said, like, my child and didn't even say
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: his name or whatever. I think that would be completely
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: different than, like, the aftermath of this. And also, like,
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: you know, sick people are following moms with young kids
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: just so that they can see young kids in the
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: wild and have access to their life in the home
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: and in the bed and as they're getting a diaper
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: changed and all that kind of stuff. And it's just, like,
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: really weird.
- 1:13:46Speaker 2: And it's also, like, I mean, you know, when something happens,
- 1:13:48Speaker 2: you're like, oh, it's going to be great content with Peter, whatever, right?
- 1:13:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: And.
- 1:13:52Speaker 2: but I think a lot of people on this particular
- 1:13:54Speaker 2: thing were like, well, you're saying you don't want him
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: to be embarrassed. You're saying you remain calm. You're saying
- 1:13:59Speaker 2: how humiliating it was. And then, but you, but immediately
- 1:14:02Speaker 2: you were filming it. Like she's filming it while he, like,
- 1:14:04Speaker 2: like it obviously just happened. It's not as if, like
- 1:14:07Speaker 2: you said later, she talks about it. So it's just
- 1:14:09Speaker 2: kind of like, where's the line for. Right. Deciding what,
- 1:14:14Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: Well, in, in this article, a couple very popular influencer
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: moms have, change their ways. And it's like, you know what?
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: I'm not going to feature my kids anymore. If I'm
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: doing something with them, they're going to be off camera
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: or I can still talk about my life, but they're
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: not going to be making the cake with me or whatever.
- 1:14:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: You know? But there's this guy that somehow started popping
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: up in my like reels and for you page. And
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: I recognized him because he was this SC football player
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: who then became like a professional player and he's good looking.
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: And he lives in Manhattan beach and, And all of
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: a sudden, someone sent it to me because he was
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: doing that, like, thing that that girl Tinks used to do.
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: She started it during the, like, Palo Alto mom starter kit,
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: you know, and talks. You wear this kind of shoe.
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: Your kid goes to this school. So he kind of
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: copied that, and he was doing it about a Manhattan
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: Beach dad. This is a car you drive. This is
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: a whatever. And because he's sort of famous, and now
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: he's a Manhattan Beach dad, it kind of went wild.
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: So somehow he pops up again, and I'm like, again,
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: who is this? Like, why is he? Why? And it's
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: so weird when all of a sudden somebody, if you've
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: noticed this, that like had a career before or whatever,
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: and they're like clearly over 40. And you're like, what
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: assistant did you hire that was like, I'm going to
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: make you a social media star. They're doing trends. They're
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: doing vows. And you're like, what is going on? They're dancing.
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: You're like, what is this? This doesn't even go with
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: like what your business is.
- 1:15:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: Or what? And I'm like, so you're just trying to
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: like make, get a million followers and be this funny person. Yeah.
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: So he does this video and he's like, you know,
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: wife's gone for three hours and this is what I'm
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: dealing with. And there's like a three-year-old on a couch
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: having a full meltdown crying, got the camera on him,
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: then goes around and he goes, and then I've got
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: this one over here who's like in the kitchen, who's
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: like taking glad bags out and whatever playing. And he's like,
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: how are you doing, buddy? Having fun. And I immediately thought,
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: oh my God, this guy just is like doing anything
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: to like become a new star. I don't know if
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: he's like run out of money. I don't know what
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: is going on with this, but like, and then the comments,
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: We're like, you know, why are you, why don't you
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: put the phone down and consult your three-year-old? He is
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: probably needs a nap and you need to like get
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: him in a place where he can go to sleep.
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: And like, you just said your wife is gone and
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: you're watching him. And the way you're watching them is
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: filming them and posting while one kid is having a
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: breakdown and then, and then rewarding the other one who's
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: not having a breakdown, which is already going to start
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: weirdness between your kids. And anyway, I went back and
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: he did remove the video.
- 1:16:49Speaker 2: Oh, he did.
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:16:51Speaker 2: I think sometimes I try not to comment on stuff
- 1:16:54Speaker 2: like that because I'm like, it's not, again, my business
- 1:16:57Speaker 2: or my place to tell someone. But sometimes I think
- 1:16:59Speaker 2: if you do comment, someone might actually go, oh, I didn't,
- 1:17:03Speaker 2: you know, like a little bit of a wake up call. Like, okay, that's,
- 1:17:07Speaker 2: that was too far.
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:17:08Speaker 2: Or, you know, I wasn't, you know, I thought it
- 1:17:10Speaker 2: was going to be funny, but I see where people
- 1:17:13Speaker 2: thought that it was kind of not the right thing to,
- 1:17:14Speaker 2: you know, like every once in a while. without being
- 1:17:18Speaker 2: an asshole, you can kind of make a suggestion maybe.
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: Because I mean, think about, think about it. If when
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: you just are having like your worst day or breakdown or,
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: you know, you're crying and you're just, you're in a
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: vulnerable moment and the person you feel most vulnerable with
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: is your husband, John. And as you're crying and everything,
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: he's like, what? You don't like the way your jeans fit.
- 1:17:40Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: Sarah feels fat today. Sarah, what's going on?
- 1:17:46Speaker 2: There'll be a wellness check at our house after that
- 1:17:48Speaker 2: from the local police department.
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: But that is when your kid is crying in its
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: home and having a meltdown. They're having that meltdown at
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: their home and hopefully not school because that's where they
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: feel the most comfortable. Right. And it's like, why are
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: you crying, buddy?
- 1:18:03Speaker 5: Why?
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: You know, I just think people like, that's why I've
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: been talking a lot about this because I just think
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: There's really good parents out there that have found themselves
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: in this position to be doing this. And there's a
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: way that maybe you could still be an influencer and
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: make money online and not like completely exploit your kid. Yeah.
- 1:18:25Speaker 2: I agree with that.
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:18:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:18:26Speaker 2: There's a balance. I'm not saying you have to take
- 1:18:28Speaker 2: them away completely. Throw away your iPhone. Yeah.
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:18:32Speaker 2: There's a balance. Yeah.
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: There is this new thing coming out that there's such,
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: it's a, You wear this ring that's like somehow like
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: a little like I watch, but it's a ring. And
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: so when you're out in the wild in public. You will.
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: get a signal that there is a single person within
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: you know whatever some yards of you right did i
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: basically explain that right yeah um because you know they're
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: saying people need to and i thought it was a
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: good uh topic and so did annie because i'm like
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: You know, more and more people like don't leave their
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: homes and need to go out. Everyone complains about the
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: dating apps. And so this would be a way that
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: you could go out. But but still, I guess not
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: make not hit on people who are married or you
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: really hit on people that like are down to be single.
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: But then now I'm thinking about I think it could
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: be a nightmare.
- 1:19:28Speaker 2: I'm trying to decide because at first I thought, well,
- 1:19:30Speaker 2: then you just have someone, people, more people bothering you.
- 1:19:33Speaker 2: But at the same time, like if you're wearing it,
- 1:19:34Speaker 2: I guess it's because you're wanting that, right? Like you're
- 1:19:37Speaker 2: wanting to like make connections and meet strangers. Whereas like
- 1:19:40Speaker 2: that's my, you know, if I'm sitting at a bar,
- 1:19:42Speaker 2: I'm like, please don't anyone talk to me. I'm sitting
- 1:19:43Speaker 2: alone for a reason, right? Where as if you're wearing
- 1:19:46Speaker 2: this ring, it's because you're like, hey, I'm approachable.
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: Right. And you could always leave the ring at home. Right.
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: If you just are like, I'm not feeling it right now.
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: But if you're like, you know what? I got all cute.
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: I'm going out with my girlfriends and I want to
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: be approached by as many people as possible. And if
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: nobody knows what this ring is, it's fine. It just
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: looks like a little ring. Right.
- 1:20:09Speaker 2: But if someone else.
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: I mean, some people say wearing a wedding ring is
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: what gets you approached more. Yeah. Because they're like, are
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: you happily married or not married at all or whatever.
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: There's some like... I'm like, I'm married. Or like, I'm
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: married and they go, happily?
- 1:20:22Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:20:24Speaker 5: Well.
- 1:20:26Speaker 2: I can't decide how I feel about this yet. I
- 1:20:28Speaker 2: feel like it seems that, I mean, I guess it's
- 1:20:33Speaker 2: one way to make it. I mean, it does suck
- 1:20:35Speaker 2: that people feel that they can't meet people at bars
- 1:20:37Speaker 2: and everyone's on their phones and apps. So if this
- 1:20:40Speaker 2: is a new way to sort of make it easier
- 1:20:42Speaker 2: to where you actually know who's single, but it's also,
- 1:20:44Speaker 2: I don't know, it feels weird.
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: Yeah, it does kind of feel.
- 1:20:48Speaker 2: Like a little ping ring, like, hey, everybody.
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:20:50Speaker 2: Looking for some.
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: Oh, you know what's also bad is that then you can't. Oh,
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: you know what's really bad is that you can't lie.
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: Then say you're you're you're taken. So now you go
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: out to the bar.
- 1:21:00Speaker 2: You're wearing.
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: You're doing some cleavage. You're writing it. You have some drinks.
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: You're ready to meet somebody. But then somebody comes up
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: to you and you're not into it. And then you're like, oh,
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: I have a boyfriend or I live with someone. But
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: thank you so much for the cocktail. And you're a sweetheart.
- 1:21:14Speaker 2: They're like, but you're wearing the ring.
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:21:17Speaker 2: And so it's just me you don't like. Yeah, that's the.
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: Oh, and then they get real angry.
- 1:21:21Speaker 2: Yeah, that's going to be the problem. Yeah.
- 1:21:24Speaker 3: Some of the.
- 1:21:25Speaker 2: Well, yeah, take off your ring then, you bitch. Well,
- 1:21:28Speaker 2: what about... Oh, can you imagine though if you're like,
- 1:21:32Speaker 2: your husband goes out next and like he puts on
- 1:21:34Speaker 2: the wrong ring and he comes home and you're like,
- 1:21:36Speaker 2: but you have the ping ring instead of... That's not
- 1:21:38Speaker 2: your wedding ring.
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. What are you doing with that ping ring?
- 1:21:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: Are you buying it in your husband's car? Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: Because it's like, yeah, this seems like an episode of
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: the Black Mirror, Twilight Zone.
- 1:21:47Speaker 2: It does, kind of, yeah.
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: It feels like it could go awry. So it's called
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: the world's biggest social experiment. I don't think it's the
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: world's biggest, but I mean, I think love at first
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: sight might be the biggest. Yeah. Well, if you're looking
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: for somebody, sometimes you can find it at work, okay?
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: In the UK, they have a very cushy jail, and
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: 18 guards were fired over affairs. And these are women
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: guards- that are working at a male prison, 18 of
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: them were boning prisoners. And they all look pretty, like, attractive.
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: And the prison looks like a nice, clean dorm that
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: you'd pay, like, you know, $ 70, 000 a year to, like,
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: live in, you know, at some school in America. Like, look,
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: look at the gym and stuff. Believe in yourself.
- 1:22:35Speaker 2: Believe in yourself.
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: It says believe in yourself in the gym.
- 1:22:39Speaker 2: Is that, like, is it a prison for, you know.
- 1:22:44Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: Like the way, I'm sure it's not murder or rape. Yeah.
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: Like I'm sure it's anything but. Yeah.
- 1:22:50Speaker 2: Whatever kind of thing.
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: So I mean, of course you're working out and then
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: you're boning a person. But like this looks, this jail
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: actually looks like Drake's dorm room at ASU.
- 1:23:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: I mean, it looks nice. And that's what, it is
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: weird sometimes when I think about like dorms now. Because
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: I'm like, you're paying so much money and it literally
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: looks like what people would get in prison.
- 1:23:12Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:23:13Speaker 2: That's true.
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: I mean, and if you don't know the person before,
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: you might as well be in a cell with someone.
- 1:23:18Speaker 1: And look, these guys didn't even bother to make up
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: their beds, probably because they were boning the prison guard.
- 1:23:23Speaker 2: Yeah, the guard probably comes in and does it afterwards.
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: But look, this area looks like this is where you'd
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: go and meet someone to go over your accounting homework.
- 1:23:32Speaker 2: I mean, they're kind of setting it up for like,
- 1:23:36Speaker 2: for you to have an affair because they're making it
- 1:23:38Speaker 2: so cushy.
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: They even have like the new black framed windows that
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: are so in, in every like farmhouse in Encino. Like,
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: what is this? I don't know.
- 1:23:47Speaker 2: I need to. Go to prison in the UK? It
- 1:23:49Speaker 2: looks like a nice getaway. That prison looks way better
- 1:23:52Speaker 2: than that hotel I tried to stay in. I just
- 1:23:56Speaker 2: want to talk about this dress.
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: This is from Mugler, which is like a very expensive brand.
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: It's like the high-end designer brand if you go to
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: like Nordstrom's or Neiman's. And Kim Kardashian shared this, and
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: it said, Dear Kim, sending you love, Team Mugler. And
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: I put it on my thing. It looks just like
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: a scrunchie, black, strapless, like Spanx type of a thing,
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: but it's a dress.
- 1:24:21Speaker 2: But for your boobies to pop out.
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: But it's for your nips. There's a full nip out.
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: Do you think this is an undergarment? No. Mugler wouldn't
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: make an undergarment.
- 1:24:33Speaker 2: But why?
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: I think your nips are supposed to be out.
- 1:24:36Speaker 2: I don't, um, I don't feel like you can, I mean,
- 1:24:41Speaker 2: don't you get taken down off Instagram if you show nipples?
- 1:24:43Speaker 2: You can't just walk around with your nipples out in
- 1:24:45Speaker 2: a dress, can you? I mean, I'm all for it
- 1:24:47Speaker 2: if they want, but I feel like you're not supposed to.
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: I want someone to explain this dress to me because
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: I wonder, like, is this an undergarment and they want,
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: and you want to have hard nips? Like, under or
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: do you wear like another like sexy bra underneath?
- 1:25:01Speaker 2: But the reason I can't see it being an undergarment
- 1:25:03Speaker 2: is because it's like so what's the word ruched or whatever.
- 1:25:06Speaker 2: So it wouldn't be smooth under something unless it just
- 1:25:09Speaker 2: smooths out when you put it on.
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:25:12Speaker 2: We're going to need someone to explain.
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: Lindsay Lohan's having a baby.
- 1:25:15Speaker 3: Oh.
- 1:25:15Speaker 2: How? That's fun. She got married, right?
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: She got married. And then Paris Hilton's book is Paris
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: Hilton's book out today. Paris has been doing a lot
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: of press. Of course, Paris has a baby. And her,
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: she has a memoir coming out that I think will
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: be pretty juicy. Yeah. She seems to be, like, revealing
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: a lot. And she had, she had some, one of
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: the stories she told was she has, she had a teacher,
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: she was going to school. I want to, I think
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: it was LA, but maybe it was not. Maybe it
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: was New York. So I want to read it. And
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: I want to try to figure out, like, because I
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: looked up her school and I think she went to
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: the school called Buckley. But anyway, she had an eighth
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: grade teacher. And he like tried to make out with
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: her and then was like hanging out with her outside
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: of her home and her parents like didn't know. And
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: so I'm like telling these stories and I'm like, someone's
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: going to be able to find out who this teacher is.
- 1:26:11Speaker 2: Yeah. Put it together.
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: Figure out what year, if she was in eighth grade,
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: what school it was and how many male teachers were there. Yeah.
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: At that time. I mean, there's got to be either.
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: Even somebody, someone's got, there's someone's got to be out
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: there that's like, I was in Paris's eighth grade class.
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: It's got to be Mr. Johnson.
- 1:26:29Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:26:30Speaker 2: And then he's going to have to have an awkward
- 1:26:32Speaker 2: conversation with his wife or whoever he's married to or
- 1:26:35Speaker 2: dating or whatever.
- 1:26:36Speaker 1: Or another, or the eighth grader that he's dating. Or, yeah.
- 1:26:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:26:41Speaker 2: He's, it's going to be figured out. That's going to
- 1:26:43Speaker 2: be figured out.
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: But I mean, obviously she's like 40 something. So this,
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: you know, now this guy's like 20 years older.
- 1:26:48Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: But yeah.
- 1:26:49Speaker 5: Um.
- 1:26:50Speaker 1: This is sad. A Compton man used Grindr to target
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: and rob more than 20 gay men.
- 1:26:55Speaker 2: I'm sorry.
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: I mean, that's not funny, but it kind of is.
- 1:27:03Speaker 2: Why is it funny? No, this is the problem. This
- 1:27:08Speaker 2: is what I worry about with that ring and stuff too.
- 1:27:10Speaker 2: Like the things about.
- 1:27:11Speaker 1: I don't want anyone to get robbed as long as
- 1:27:13Speaker 1: he's not murdering them. I don't want them to get
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: robbed either. And I think it's really sad because it's
- 1:27:17Speaker 1: like the ultimate con. Like they think they're meeting this guy,
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: but he's just pretending to be gay. And they think
- 1:27:23Speaker 1: they're going to have like a hookup or maybe more.
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: And then he was robbing them. He used her profile
- 1:27:28Speaker 1: with a different person's picture to arrange meetings. Oh, that's
- 1:27:32Speaker 1: even worse.
- 1:27:32Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: So now you think you're getting a cuter gay guy
- 1:27:35Speaker 1: who is a non-robber and you're getting a less attractive,
- 1:27:39Speaker 1: possibly straight guy who is going to rob you.
- 1:27:43Speaker 2: Yeah, this is.
- 1:27:43Speaker 1: It's hard to be a gay guy in LA. This
- 1:27:45Speaker 1: is from the LA Times, by the way.
- 1:27:47Speaker 2: But all of the, like... This is the problem with
- 1:27:49Speaker 2: dating apps, too, is you never... I mean, you know,
- 1:27:52Speaker 2: I always suggest people obviously meet in... very much public.
- 1:27:56Speaker 1: Areas with a ring, with a ring. Yeah.
- 1:27:58Speaker 2: And don't let someone come over or anything like that.
- 1:28:01Speaker 2: But yeah, that's the kind of stuff that worries me
- 1:28:04Speaker 2: about the things like the ring.
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: This is one of the, this is one of these
- 1:28:07Speaker 1: photos from the LA times when I hope this is
- 1:28:10Speaker 1: not a stock photo. I hope this guy actually is
- 1:28:13Speaker 1: the guy that was doing it. Do you imagine if
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: it was just like a model and they just threw
- 1:28:16Speaker 1: in like a cute looking, put together black guy. Cause
- 1:28:20Speaker 1: I was, when fortune was on here, we're talking about like,
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: this girl, there was an article about this girl said
- 1:28:26Speaker 1: she slept with her cousin and it was a girl
- 1:28:28Speaker 1: looking down like this. And then Fortune was like, wait,
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: that's not the girl. Like, oh no, I just think
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: that's like a stock photo for modeling. And then we
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: were like, wait, that's kind of awful that like, like
- 1:28:38Speaker 1: you could be that same person. Like I got my third,
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: you know, sexual transmitted disease in a year. And that
- 1:28:45Speaker 1: could be the same person like this, but it's like,
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: You can kind of tell what the person looks like. Right.
- 1:28:49Speaker 2: Well, in this case, yeah.
- 1:28:50Speaker 1: Because this guy looks like stylish and like cute.
- 1:28:53Speaker 2: And if that's the photo that he used, now you're
- 1:28:55Speaker 2: putting out.
- 1:28:56Speaker 1: Yes. Maybe it's a photo that he used.
- 1:28:58Speaker 2: But then you're putting out that person's photo and they're
- 1:29:01Speaker 2: going to think it's the person that was scamming.
- 1:29:03Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:29:04Speaker 2: So hopefully it's actually the person that was the scammer.
- 1:29:07Speaker 2: Let's hope.
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: Anyway, he'd also use these guys, these unsuspecting gay guys.
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: He'd use their phones to send Venmo payments to himself
- 1:29:15Speaker 1: and would sometimes rob them at knife point. Well, the
- 1:29:17Speaker 1: knife point part is bad. But that, I talked about
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: why you never hand your phone to anyone.
- 1:29:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:29:23Speaker 1: Even if someone's like, can I just borrow your phone
- 1:29:26Speaker 1: really quick and just call my friend to pick me up?
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: This girl said to me when I was at the DMV. Oh, really?
- 1:29:33Speaker 2: And I heard about that and I was like, no! Oh,
- 1:29:36Speaker 2: because they want to do it.
- 1:29:38Speaker 1: First of all, they can take your phone and run
- 1:29:40Speaker 1: off to a getaway car and then have some hacker
- 1:29:43Speaker 1: go through all your shit. But also, if you have Venmo,
- 1:29:47Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:29:48Speaker 2: Or Apple Pay too, right? They can probably do it.
- 1:29:50Speaker 1: I only use Zelle. So, and Zelle, I have to
- 1:29:53Speaker 1: put in my code.
- 1:29:55Speaker 3: Oh, okay.
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: Even on my own phone. So they wouldn't be able
- 1:29:57Speaker 1: to do it. But I guess with Venmo and stuff,
- 1:29:59Speaker 1: you could immediately just take the phone and be like, $ 500,
- 1:30:00Speaker 1: send it to yourself. Oh. Yeah.
- 1:30:03Speaker 2: I never thought about that. Yeah. So that's what you
- 1:30:06Speaker 2: have to say, no, I'll call the person for you.
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:30:08Speaker 2: In case the person actually does need help.
- 1:30:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:30:10Speaker 1: Yeah. But I mean, I guess if you're, you know,
- 1:30:12Speaker 1: meeting this guy to grind with and you.
- 1:30:15Speaker 2: To grind with?
- 1:30:18Speaker 1: I mean, that's why they named it that, don't you think?
- 1:30:22Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:30:22Speaker 1: I remember Grindr was, you know.
- 1:30:24Speaker 2: I think it's just like because Tinder, they were just
- 1:30:26Speaker 2: like using the same kind of.
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: Well, Grindr was the first one ever. Oh. I remember
- 1:30:30Speaker 1: it was Guy Branum who first told us that Grindr
- 1:30:33Speaker 1: even existed.
- 1:30:34Speaker 2: Oh. It was before.
- 1:30:35Speaker 1: When we were in Australia.
- 1:30:36Speaker 2: But Tinder ripped them off.
- 1:30:38Speaker 1: Yeah. And he turned it on and it was just like,
- 1:30:40Speaker 1: I can find all the Australian gay guys within like
- 1:30:43Speaker 1: a mile radius of me. And I did think that
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: was kind of great. No, it is.
- 1:30:47Speaker 2: That's why, I mean, that's like, I guess that's why
- 1:30:49Speaker 2: they're saying with the ring, I guess it's almost the
- 1:30:51Speaker 2: same thing. Like you can just sort of have.
- 1:30:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:30:54Speaker 2: Like a bat signal.
- 1:30:56Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:30:58Speaker 2: That you're, I don't know. I worry about everybody.
- 1:31:01Speaker 1: Girl, tell everybody what are your next plans? shows, how
- 1:31:05Speaker 1: they can listen to your podcast.
- 1:31:07Speaker 2: Yeah, come this weekend to Batavia, Illinois, the Comedy Vault,
- 1:31:11Speaker 2: the 23rd, 24th, and 25th of March. I am there.
- 1:31:14Speaker 1: Do you know where you're staying?
- 1:31:15Speaker 2: I don't yet. No, hopefully I don't. Not yet.
- 1:31:18Speaker 1: Well, maybe somebody who's going to go can vet some
- 1:31:21Speaker 1: places and get a hold of Sarah and Tell them
- 1:31:24Speaker 1: where they can get a hold of you and DM
- 1:31:25Speaker 1: you and give a good suggestion.
- 1:31:27Speaker 2: Usually it's, I haven't had any bad experiences really lately
- 1:31:31Speaker 2: as of late. You just had one. I know, but
- 1:31:32Speaker 2: that wasn't a gig. That was going to see a
- 1:31:35Speaker 2: friend and I made a mistake.
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: We obviously have Juicy Scoopers that are going to go
- 1:31:40Speaker 1: see you that are listening.
- 1:31:41Speaker 2: Yes. I've already had someone write me and give me
- 1:31:43Speaker 2: some restaurant.
- 1:31:44Speaker 1: Okay. Well, we also need a hotel. Why haven't you
- 1:31:46Speaker 1: booked it yet? It's this week.
- 1:31:47Speaker 2: Because they do it for me.
- 1:31:49Speaker 1: Oh, they're doing it. Yeah. Oh, then we don't need that.
- 1:31:51Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:31:52Speaker 1: No. Okay.
- 1:31:52Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:31:53Speaker 2: So, yes, come see me there at the Comedy Vault.
- 1:31:56Speaker 2: Listen to Are You My Podcast if you're a Married
- 1:31:58Speaker 2: at First Sight fan. And my Clutch Women bags, you

- 1:32:06Speaker 1: It's Taylor Swift season.
- 1:32:07Speaker 2: Concert season.
- 1:32:07Speaker 1: It's Coachella. It's Stagecoach. This weekend at the BNP, you
- 1:32:12Speaker 1: had to have the right size of the bags. And,
- 1:32:16Speaker 1: you know, thank God, you know, we have Sarah's and
- 1:32:20Speaker 1: you can get a cute color. You can get the

- 1:32:25Speaker 1: will take it from you.
- 1:32:26Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:32:27Speaker 2: It's the right size.
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: You don't have to walk back two miles when you
- 1:32:29Speaker 1: realize that you, and put your lipstick and your cleavage
- 1:32:32Speaker 1: and your phone in your pocket.
- 1:32:33Speaker 2: You should work for me.
- 1:32:34Speaker 1: I know.
- 1:32:34Speaker 2: You want to run my Instagram for Clutch Women? Absolutely.
- 1:32:37Speaker 2: It's clutchwomen.com, by the way.
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: So just get one so that you're set and then
- 1:32:41Speaker 1: just know that that's the bag, no matter what. Even
- 1:32:43Speaker 1: if you're not 100% sure, better safe than sorry.
- 1:32:45Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:32:46Speaker 1: Because sometimes they might change their rules. Like my sister
- 1:32:48Speaker 1: said with the BNP, the tennis, it wasn't like that. Right.
- 1:32:52Speaker 1: The first weekend.
- 1:32:53Speaker 2: You always got to check before you go. It literally changed.
- 1:32:54Speaker 2: It was two weekends.
- 1:32:55Speaker 1: The first weekend it wasn't like that. The next weekend
- 1:32:56Speaker 1: it was the clear bag thing. Oh, right.
- 1:32:58Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:32:59Speaker 2: And clear bag means you can still have a four
- 1:33:01Speaker 2: by five by six by five clutch that's not clear,
- 1:33:02Speaker 2: which is what mine are. Thank you, Heather.
- 1:33:06Speaker 1: Thank you, everyone.
- 1:33:08Speaker 4: Christmas shopping has already started in our house. My daughter
- 1:33:12Speaker 4: is so organised, already planning Christmas gifts from Macaulay. Hair
- 1:33:16Speaker 4: care for her aunt and a fab fragrance for her bestie.
- 1:33:19Speaker 4: But the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. I'm
