The Mountain Man: 22 Years, One Hammer
In a poor village in Bihar, India, a rocky ridge stood between the people of Gehlaur and the nearest doctor. After his wife Falguni Devi was badly injured crossing it, labourer Dashrath Manjhi picked up a hammer and a chisel. For 22 years, from 1960 to 1982, he cut a passage through the rock: about 110 metres long and 9 metres wide. This is the documented story of the man India calls the Mountain Man.
