- 0:00You know, I've gone on record Amanda saying I love the Internet, big
- 0:03Internet guy, and for reasons like this. This is so cool. This
- 0:06woman had a family heirloom that she was in charge of after her mom passed
- 0:10away. Now, her mom loved this heirloom, kay, And what it
- 0:13was you're probably curious like a cat, I'm sure I am. It was
- 0:17a leopard carving made by her uncle back in nineteen eighty. The guy I
- 0:23told you told me a million things. I am trying. I'm trying to
- 0:26figure out a leopard carve. Leopard now, not a leopard like somebody with
- 0:31leprosyed. No, I'm thinking of a leopard because you know me, big
- 0:33leopard, prink girl you are. Yeah. So it's like a cat.
- 0:37So it's a carving of a like a wood carving, bar of soap.
- 0:41Actually, no, I don't know what it was. Probably it's probably would
- 0:45but they lost it. So when her grandmother, Now enter grandma. So
- 0:52I know I'm adding a new player here, but the grandmother died also.
- 0:57It's not funny at all, but they sold. You know you've ever done
- 1:00this where you got to create clean out grandma's house? Yeah, I know
- 1:03a lot of stuff in there, an unbelievable amount of stuff. And you
- 1:07know, for my grandma's house, for example, chest of drawers in every
- 1:11room. It was the worst day of my life, having to move out
- 1:17the day that your grandma died, had to clean out her house. Okay,
- 1:22correct. The sheer amount of chests of drawers and that alone annoyed me
- 1:26because why is she calling them chests of drawers? And she kept saying,
- 1:30can you grab that chest of drawers? And it was just one after the
- 1:34other you'd have to carry out, you know, probably five bedrooms. I
- 1:38did, there might have been probably eight or nine chest of drawers. Anyway,
- 1:42they lose this carving, and so it's a family heirloom. It's sad,
- 1:47right, So after this woman's mom passed away, she had to find
- 1:53it. So she goes to Facebook. That's I mean, what else can
- 1:55you do? So she pos you post a photo of the heirloom. Thank
- 2:02god she had a photo. That is shocking. He says, Hey,
- 2:08I don't know what else to do. I'm desperate. I lost the family
- 2:12heirloom that we all have loved in Cherish Gosh. I'm so glad though,
- 2:15because do you think she had like a still photo of it, or do
- 2:17you think it was from her phone? It was a snapchat story and so
- 2:23here we are looking for this heirloom. And what do you think happened next?
- 2:27You think was it on Facebook? Then Marketplace? Probably anywhere? A
- 2:31couple not even not even remotely close to where they're living, said, hey,
- 2:36wait a minute, I've seen that before, honey, don't we have
- 2:43a carving just like this, this leopard carving? You mean this went viral?
- 2:46It went viral viral enough anyway, Like I didn't see it, but
- 2:51this couple, thank god they did, because they realized that they had purchased
- 2:54a similar carving years before, and it was the same harving that this family
- 3:01had been cherished, cherishing going back to nineteen eighty and so guess what they
- 3:07reached out and this woman has now been reunited with the leopard carving. God
- 3:12bless the Internet. Yeah, absolutely like it a minute in the morning,
- 3:15Big ninety eight point seven. You know, millennials, people born let's say
- 3:19in the eighties, early nineties, they're very set in their ways. There's
- 3:23things they do that they just can't quite break. Isn't everybody, No,
- 3:25only millennials, Only people born between nineteen eighty. I don't want to find
- 3:30any holes in your story. For example, like millennials, they're the type
- 3:32that on a voicemail, they're gonna leave a voicemail first of all, and
- 3:36leave their phone number despite everybody having caller ID at this point, I don't
- 3:39think that's true, but it's okay. I'm reading it here, so it's
- 3:43true. Got it? But it is. You know what also gets me
- 3:46the people who still like have a voice message. It's like, Hi,
- 3:50you've reached so and so I can't come to the phone right now, but
- 3:53leave a mess. It's like, that's so unnecessary. You can't come to
- 3:58the phone right now. Why don't where what mine is? Why do I
- 4:00need to know that? I can't remember the last time I changed it?
- 4:03Can we call me quick? And because I made a voicemail? This is
- 4:06funny because I don't even know what Okay, this is good stuff. Here
- 4:11I go dialing Amanda, what's your number again? I got it? You
- 4:15keep telling your story, so that's interesting. And then there's another thing millennials
- 4:19do that I never had thought about this, but it is so true.
- 4:24Millennials cannot make big purchases on their phones. In, so think about that.
- 4:32Okay, I'm really intrigued. Oh boy, this is awesome. Millennials
- 4:36can't dial their own number. Okay, here's Amanda dialing her own phone number.
- 4:42I'm really intrigued. This will be great. It's going to be an
- 4:46automated one and it's gonna be stupid. No, there is no way.
- 4:48Now we got to listen to your phone ring. No, I'll hit ignore
- 4:50and I'll send you to voicemail. Here we go. How you reached to
- 4:55MEA sorry, I think it's my phone right now, leave me a message
- 4:58and I'll get back to you with and as I can't think. And it's
- 5:00funny because I see you right now and you very much could get to your
- 5:02phone. So why do we need that that little till? You're not right?
- 5:05So? What would be the right way? What's just way? Like?
- 5:09Well, first of all, you don't need anything, you know what
- 5:11I mean? You could just say hey, AND's Amanda leave a message?
- 5:14You don't even need that much. Just what hey, hans Amanda? Babe?
- 5:16I think we go right to the beep. I think we can bypass
- 5:18all that. Who wrote that script? Somewhere decades ago, somebody thought,
- 5:24hey, it's so and so can't come to the phone right now, but
- 5:26leave a message and I'll get back to you. My mom used to have
- 5:29the best voice messages. It was like, I feel like it was a
- 5:31thing of the It must have been early nineties. I remember our answering machine,
- 5:36like the old school answering machine, and be like, Hi, you've
- 5:40reached Barbanami and DA can't get to the phone right now, but please do
- 5:43leave a message after the beep and have a peachy day. Like she was
- 5:46just so over the top. And then remember she was hocking jewelry jewels by
- 5:50park Lane. Absolutely so. At the very end of her voicemail before she
- 5:55had passed, it was have a jewel of a day. I'm like,
- 5:58that's just a door marketing Bartn Andmanday. It was just a two yea in
- 6:02the early nineties before Lance Pants was in the picture. Yep, you on
- 6:09to switch get dreams. I wanted to be here we are now. That
- 6:16would have been a good ring back in the nineties. Absolutely people were calling
- 6:20us. Can I go back to the reason I brought this all up.
- 6:24It wasn't supposed to be a whole voicemail thing. It was supposed to be
- 6:26millennials refusing to buy things big. But there's a there's a point where you'll
- 6:30do something on your phone, Like I'll buy a couple Hdmi cables on my
- 6:35phone. But if we're talking like airline tickets, trips, things like that,
- 6:40you gotta have a computer. You know what I mean? I do
- 6:43everything on my phone. Okay? Did should we just not proceed with the
- 6:46story. I'm just telling you, like, I have no issue. Really,
- 6:50I'll buy tickets, plane tickets on the phone. Frontier ascomfortable. We're
- 6:56going to Iowa this weekend. I use Expedia for the hotel. Tell rooms,
- 7:00uh, I'll buy a computer. I do everything. Really, you're
- 7:03not booking direct through the hotel. No, that's stupid. No, it's
- 7:08way cheaper. It's not cheaper. It is cheaper, always the cheapest to
- 7:11book through the hotel, and then when something happens, it's way easier to
- 7:15get a refund because going through Expedy. Are any of those third party sites,
- 7:19it's a nightmare. I guess it depends on where you're staying and what
- 7:23you're doing. I guess I'm saying. The world renowned Plaza Hotel Okay in
- 7:28New York City Pike Medallas start. Yeah, that's where I'm staying. What
- 7:31else are millennials? Yeah, not doing well. They're not making big purchases
- 7:34on their phone. And think about it, like, I'm the same way.
- 7:38If it gets to be a certain dollar amount, I'm going to need
- 7:40that whole computer screen. I want to see all the different fields I got
- 7:43to fill out. You know what I'm saying. No, again, not
- 7:46relatable to me. Next, let me see if I can find another hole
- 7:49in this spot. They use physical wallets that carry wallets around. Yeah,
- 7:56when when are we going to get rid of that system? Because that seems
- 7:59like you've got the technology because you can do the stuff on your phone.
- 8:03Now, that is one thing I like, I have no but think about
- 8:05what there's one thing that you need in that wallet that you can't put on
- 8:07your phone. Huh. One thing in your wallet that you need to have
- 8:11physically. Oh, your driver's license. You go. So that's the next
- 8:16thing we got to figure out. But can't you just I mean, wouldn't
- 8:18you say you just take a picture of it and you just added to a
- 8:22folder. And if you were to get pulled over and you were like,
- 8:24here's my driver's license, don't you think they'd go Okay, I guess I
- 8:28don't know. That's basically saying, you know, trust me, bro,
- 8:31Like I got a license, I'm able to drive. I mean, I
- 8:35wasn't even speeding. Trending. Now here's what you need to know. Last
- 8:41night, Fargo police officers attended the candlelight vigil at the National Mall and DC
- 8:45to honor officers who lost their lives in the line of duty in twenty twenty
- 8:48three. The name of Officer will Lean is among the two hundred and eighty
- 8:52two names added to the memorial. The Fargo Police Department did really sustainment,
- 8:56saying this night was truly breathtaking and powerful. Officer Jake Memory will never be
- 9:01forgotten. Absolutely not see Wolves last Game five last night to the Nuggets one
- 9:05twelve to ninety seven. Denver now leads to Zeries th Rita too as they
- 9:09head back to Minneapolis for Game six tomorrow night. At seven thirty, I
- 9:13was just looking and I totally forgot. Last night, Caitlyn Clark had her
- 9:16debut with uh the Indiana Fever. She did yep, and the Wolves lost.
- 9:24You see that. I just said that. I said the whole story
- 9:26Pike. You didn't pay attention. Oh you so quickly moved on to the
- 9:31WNBA, did you literally everything I said? Now, the Wolves lie and
- 9:35I stayed up. My god, I stayed up till midnight on a school
- 9:39night just to watch him lose. And it was the same. The last
- 9:41three games have been identical, not competitive. Denver's the better team. I'm
- 9:46just it's it's it's over, it's doine, Caitlyn Clark. This is the
- 9:50first headline struggles in WNBA debut as Connecticut's son dominates the Indiana fever. I
- 9:56think we're kind of moving on from that, right, I don't think so.
- 10:00I think you you can move on all you want. They were kind
- 10:03of off that, but okay, no, that's that's great. Good luck
- 10:09to the t Wolve Zoe taking on the Nugs. Yeah, when it's tomorrow
- 10:13seven thirty again, already said all of that. It's a must win,
- 10:16obviously, to win or go home. Yesterday, Gail King, who is
- 10:22sixty nine, was surprised she was on her morning show when Kate Upton and
- 10:26Hunter McGary they showed up to chat about this year's special sixtieth anniversary issue of
- 10:31Sports Illustrated Gail, of course, knew she was going to be a part
- 10:35of the issue, but thought it was more of like an Instagram post.
- 10:37They didn't like sneak photos of her in a swimsuit, because that wouldn't be
- 10:41Okay, what would you do if you opened them Sports Trade magazine and there's
- 10:46a photo of you in a swimsuit. Oprah invited her over and was like,
- 10:50Gail, just just frolic in the pool, do me a favorite,
- 10:54try this one piece on. I'm dying to see it on you. Yeah,
- 10:58okay, but nyway, they did surprise her. But Nate burleson right,
- 11:03is that the guy or not? I believe he was on my fantasy
- 11:05football team? Ones here? Yes, So Kate and Hunter aren't the only
- 11:11cover stars in the room right now trying to find this next cover star.
- 11:16She is right here. Okay, So they're surprising Gail, and just prepare
- 11:22yourself for the worst sound you've ever heard, Gail swim soup. Yeah,
- 11:35they put her on the cover and Gail for her part, looking great,
- 11:39so fantastic one piece, I know, yeap, real good. And is
- 11:43she famous because she's Oprah Oprah's friend or is she Oprah's friend because she's famous.
- 11:48I think she became famous because she was Oprah's friend. And now everybody
- 11:52you get an issue, you get an issue, you get an issue of
- 11:54Sports Illustrated. You just find any way to I love Oprah to put that
- 11:58in. This always makes me get going Amanda in the morning on SIG seven.
- 12:05Man, this is what I won't say. Gross, I want you
- 12:07to tell me what you think. Women went online to complain about her neighbors.
- 12:11Not an uncommon thing to do. It happens. Neighbors can be very
- 12:13annoying. However, these particular neighbors an elderly couple retired. They are enjoying
- 12:20the sun. They love soaking up the sun. YEA made it through a
- 12:24long winter time to sit down in your yard. When I think of retirement,
- 12:28I think of that coffee in the morning, enjoying, you know,
- 12:31the sunrise, absolutely outside all day, maybe margarita at noon, and then
- 12:37you know, wind down with the sunset. The only problem, though,
- 12:41is this particular elderly couple likes to enjoy the sun naked. Oh boy,
- 12:46and so the neighbor that's great, A little bothered by that, like there's
- 12:52no fence situation. I mean, you're just falling out in their garden naked.
- 13:00Oh they're gardening naked. No. No, they're just enjoying the sun.
- 13:03Oh, got it, my sun bathing bathing in the sun. I
- 13:07don't know if it's a sight for sore eyes or not, but probably probably.
- 13:11So what a thing to say? How do you know that? Well,
- 13:15you did mention they were elderly, and it could be a couple of
- 13:18Gail Kings. I'm not elderly, but after a couple of kids, you
- 13:22know, sometimes you're just like, you know, things are just different and
- 13:26being just naked, just hanging around. Maybe he's rock solid. I don't
- 13:31know. They're confident. They're confident though about themselves. But isn't that the
- 13:37case? So you know, have you ever been to like a nude beach.
- 13:39It's wild, yeah, because you would expect like ten out of ten
- 13:45out of ten, and usually it's like one out of two, maybe threes
- 13:48going yeah, one tchoosing threes yeah, yeah, yeah. It seems liberating
- 13:52to get to that age because it's a lot of older people, right,
- 13:54nude beaches. Don't you also have to you should then move to a community
- 14:00like a Newdiest colony, because don't they have a few of those. Well,
- 14:03I'm sure you shouldn't have to, though, it shouldn't be law that
- 14:07you have to move to a colony. Well, I mean, if you're
- 14:09out in the backyard with your kids, it's like, oh, there's a
- 14:13Jeane and Joy just enjoying the garden naked. Like that's not cool, right,
- 14:18Just get a YMCA membership and hang out in the locker room like some
- 14:22other old guys. It seems to be the place to do it. It's
- 14:26like, oh yeah, it's like, hey, guys, are you working
- 14:30out? Are you just come down here to get naked and walk around the
- 14:33locker room and put your foot up on the bench and ben a while since
- 14:35I've been in a locker room situation, but that's classic. You know that
- 14:39the towel around your neck could also go around your waist doing the big stretches
- 14:46like ooh, just get out of the sowna. Hey, good to see
- 14:50you again, back back again. I felt like getting naked, huh,
- 14:56it's good to see you boys. What a visual in the morning on a
- 15:03big nuddy eight point seven. Well, finally there's been a ruling from the
- 15:07Supreme Court amandon, so it's official Okay, okay, maybe not the Supreme
- 15:11Court, but the Indiana Superior Court. Okay, it's close enough. Okay.
- 15:16It's long been debated as to whether things like hot dogs, tacos,
- 15:20burritos, are they sandwiches. Oh, I've heard this debate. Do they
- 15:26qualify as a sandwich? Taco is not a sandwich. That's interesting you say
- 15:31that, Amanda, because that very subject was the matter of an Indiana Supreme
- 15:35Court case. That's so I'm so glad that they went to court over this.
- 15:39What life were we in? Here's why it got all the way to
- 15:41the Superior Court of Indiana. A conflict arose when a Mexican Mexican restaurant tour
- 15:48Martin Quintana, attempted to open a strip mall, and he faced opposition.
- 15:54Now here's the problem. The strip mall only allowed for quote made to order
- 16:00or subway style sandwiches. That was the rule for the strip mall. Got
- 16:03it. Well, somebody wanted to open a Mexican restaurant, and so they
- 16:08went all the way to the Supreme Court arguing that You keep saying Supreme Court,
- 16:11but it was the Indiana just like Superior court, Yeah, just like
- 16:17Okay, do you want to get into a Civis discussion. Is what the
- 16:19difference is CLI. I don't want people to be like, really the Supreme
- 16:22courts handling this with our tax dollars. Oh you're you're a big fan of
- 16:26Supreme Court. I named three judges, lots of them. Go just go
- 16:33go on this story. You don't want to embarrass yourself because you can't even
- 16:36name one anyway, So it goes Judge Judy. So goes all the way
- 16:44to the Court. They're saying, hey, we can open a Mexican restaurant
- 16:45because tacos are sandwiches, they're Mexican style sandwiches. So it goes to the
- 16:49court, and the Holy Reverend of the Supreme Court, Judge Bobe, determined
- 16:57that tacos and burritos do in fact qualify as Mexican style sandwiches. Reading the
- 17:04restaurant was able to open in the Strip mall. And now, if anybody
- 17:07ever asks you, because this is now a precedent, can you turn down
- 17:11the Yeas Now there's a precedent that's been set, and that's how the legal
- 17:18system works. Once the Supreme Court rules, now that's that's how it goes.
- 17:22That is really interesting though, because there are a lot of strip malls
- 17:26and stuff like that where it's like, you wouldn't have two nail salons to
- 17:27this whatever. So that would be kind of a conflict because I would think,
- 17:32yeah, a taco shop and a sandwich shop could be right next to
- 17:33each other. They're two totally different entities, and yeah they're both food.
- 17:37But when I'm hungry for a taco, that doesn't mean I want to go
- 17:41have a Jersey Mike sandwich. Those are two totally different things. Well they
- 17:44are, but these are Mexican style sandwiches. Will that Does this change your
- 17:49opinions of tacos? I feel like I need to eat it different, Like
- 17:53I feel like I need to eat the taco now two hands, Yeah,
- 17:56two hands, Like I'm eating it as a like a mex and pizza or
- 18:00testata. That's another thing. They have different versions of things like that.
- 18:03Yeah, they have a lot of different things, but then at the same
- 18:07time, it's like all the same, you know what I mean, It's
- 18:08just a different arrangement of tortilla. I would put a hot dog closer to
- 18:14a sandwich than a taco. Yeah, would you rather have ten hot dogs
- 18:17or ten tacos ten tacos, and I would house them. It would be
- 18:21easy. It would be an easy task. What's your favorite taco? I
- 18:25just like a crunchy I'm like a crunchy taco guy. Love just a hard
- 18:29shell. And I'll say Taco Bell. It's got pretty good hard shells.
- 18:32I think. I always go a yeah, there's one, A deal?
- 18:37Is there? Oh, like forty five miles away? Perfect, there's one
- 18:40in the later and I think they're locally. I'm talking they're all gone,
- 18:44right. I don't want to offend any Johns. No, but their their
- 18:48burrito game was better, I thought than Taco Bell. But Taco Bells crunchy
- 18:51tacos superior. Much like the court in Indiana that ruled that tacos are Mexican
- 18:56style sandwiches, we brought it around. Do you have anything more to add
- 19:02about tacos? No, what's your favorite taco? I disagree. I'm going
- 19:04to file an appeal. Not for me, nada in Jolada. What did
- 19:11I tell you about taco pints? I said we would have none. That
- 19:15was an in Jlada pun. It wasn't even a pun to be fair,
- 19:18like get Amanda in the morning. No, Amanda Stills, Let's See,
- 19:22Let's See, and it's brought to you my part company, Real Tours.
- 19:26Well, I love Tom Brady even more after he sat down for an interview
- 19:30post roast and was talking about how the jokes landed and how it really made
- 19:34his kids feel his kids were off limits. If you have not watched it
- 19:38yet, they do not make any jokes about the kids, but it's still
- 19:41the moms and just people around him that I could I could see because they
- 19:47are young where it's like, but they're old enough to know and get the
- 19:49jokes too, so it's just kind of icky. Listen to what he had
- 19:52to say that the Bill Ny Beams song, Sorry Here he Is. I
- 19:57heard that, you know. Like I said, I loved when the jokes
- 20:00were about me. I thought they were so fun. I didn't like the
- 20:04way that affected my kids. So it's the hardest part about like the bittersweet
- 20:08aspect of when you do something that you think is one way and then all
- 20:11of a sudden you realize I wouldn't do that again because of the way that
- 20:17affected actually the people that I care about the most in the world. Well,
- 20:19let's not act like he didn't sort of see it coming. But you
- 20:22know that's a price you pay for twenty five million dollars. Your kids are
- 20:26going to be affected a little. Allegedly, that hasn't been completely confirmed yet.
- 20:30Some people are saying it was actually more than twenty five million, which
- 20:33again is hard to even wrap your head around that kind of money just to
- 20:36sit there. Yeah, I know, even for him who's made hundreds of
- 20:38millions of dollars, that's still a incredible amount of money for something that's just
- 20:44a pretty good time. Yeah, exactly. Joan evesos she is going to
- 20:48get another shot at love. You're thinking, who's Joan? Well, she
- 20:52is a sixty one year old school administrator who has been cast as the first
- 20:55Golden Bachelorette. It is going to air Wednesdays in the fall on ABC.
- 21:00She you'll probably remember, this was a front runner on gear Bear season.
- 21:03Fortunately, she had to leave in week three because there was a family emergency.
- 21:07Yeah, right. During the Women Tell, although she admitted that's what
- 21:11I say too, and I need to get out of something. Nobody can
- 21:14ask any questions that way, she did say that she felt that there was
- 21:18some unfinished business between her and Turner. I'm like, oh, really turn
- 21:22he shows up, Gary Turner shows up and uh, you know, Joan,
- 21:30can I get another shot? That would be interesting, little plot twist.
- 21:36No, that would be interesting. There's all sorts of things I'm imagining
- 21:40that would be interesting. Yeah, I'm excited, excited for the season.
- 21:42We'll see see who else they get. As far as the Fellas go,
- 21:45I know, I think we can do better in Gary for Joan, don't
- 21:48you gonna take? It's gonna take somebody who. She was very active as
- 21:53well. I felt like they actually kind of hit it off right away.
- 21:56So who knows. I don't know. Yeah, you still want to throw
- 21:59your steps down in the ring, you know. I thought about that.
- 22:00Yeah, he's a little bit older than her, but hey, you wouldn't
- 22:04know it though. No, he's got young absolutely. Wow. Just throwing
- 22:10his age out there, Pike. Wow. Oh was that right? Is
- 22:12he seventy five or something like that? Yeah? All right. Kevin Costner,
- 22:15finally addressing the drama surrounding his pending exit from Yellowstone, He said,
- 22:19basically, everything that we've heard about him with the contract agreements, everything about
- 22:26him not wanting to finish it all out, he said, it's not truthful
- 22:29it's bs and he says, I've taken a beating from those bleeping guys.
- 22:33I made Yellowstone the first priority, and for them to insinuate anything else would
- 22:37be wrong because he's doing a different Western, is he really? Yeah?
- 22:40So like the Horizon something? What are you doing? Why are you ruining
- 22:45a Yellowstone Stone? Right? I'm talking about Kevin Costner and he's doing a
- 22:48different Western? What? What? Yes? What's it called? I told
- 22:53you get a rid of Bill Nye, the science guy, the Horizon that.
- 22:59You know. I'm just if any thing. Just glad westerns are back.
- 23:02But what's what was the like Clint Eastwood? Of course? But who
- 23:04is the other Western? Are you talking about? Like Tombstone? I'm thinking
- 23:08of the guy John Wayne? Is that who is? Yeah? John Wayne's
- 23:12thinking, geez, wish I was still alive. You know. You think
- 23:18that's what he's saying. Because they're back, baby, you know what I
- 23:21mean? Did you ever watch Yellowstone? Uh? Uh, you gotta get
- 23:23it. I don't think I've seen a single Western anything. See, And
- 23:27that's kind of where I was at when Yellowstone first debut, And I'm like,
- 23:30that's not gonna be for me. It's gonna get your pike. It'll
- 23:33be one of your favorites. That's what people say. It's like, well,
- 23:36I don't like Western so I'm not gonna watch it. Just like how
- 23:38you say you're not into like Fantasy dragons, so you don't watch Game of
- 23:42Thrones. Meanwhile, you're missing out. I'm possibly the greatest TV series ever
- 23:47crafted. I have an idea what I'm I'm just getting wild here. Okay,
- 23:52you watch Yellowstone, I'll watch Game of Thrones, and then deal will
- 23:56be. Can I borrow your login for yahoop plus or whatever it's on Paramount
- 24:00Plus? Oh yeah, no, you're gonna have to come over. I've
- 24:03got it on the DVR. All episode. You can send a basement at
- 24:06your house a minute in the morning. Big ninety eight points seven, Amanda,
- 24:11we've been, you know, going back over a decade now doing the
- 24:14show together, you know, give or take a couple of years. And
- 24:17there was somebody we met a long, long time ago, a listener,
- 24:19a very good listener that became a good friend. And her name is Michelle.
- 24:23Michelle is a really lovely lady. And today is a kind of a
- 24:27crazy day, isn't it. It's absolutely wild that I made it to age
- 24:32fifty. Who would at birthday? Yes? Sofety. The other day I
- 24:36jump on social media and I get an invite a fifty selfies on my fiftieth
- 24:41birthday from Michelle Jennison, and I'm like, are you kidding me? The
- 24:45selfie queen is going to be fifty. You've probably seen her around town.
- 24:49You're pretty much everywhere. Like I look at you. Are you omnipresent like
- 24:53Jesus and Santa Claus? Because I will be somewhere and I'm like, oh,
- 24:56she's here. Then she's there, and every day or somewhere in the
- 25:00FM area doing something fun. It feels like a live life. Man.
- 25:03What's your favorite place in Fargo? Oh, I'm sorry to hit you with
- 25:07a holy such a hard question question more head, you know, just kind
- 25:14of a woman about the town. You know, I'm gonna say that it's
- 25:18here and radio station keen up for anything, Like every time in here,
- 25:21I have a good time. It's very nice. I don't know that.
- 25:23I just love Fargo. I really do. There's always something going on and
- 25:27I have so many friends and family here that I I do stuff and like
- 25:33life is all about living and I am a big fan of choose happy and
- 25:37absolutely yeah. Well, not to get emotional, but you know, we
- 25:40knew your husband. You lost your husband some years back now Jay almost ten.
- 25:45He's a great man, way too soon, but you know since and
- 25:48it's been a pleasure to see you living your life, having fun, like
- 25:52you said, living every day, you know, and it's it's awesome.
- 25:53So and you're talking about how time is just a wild thing because you have
- 25:57a daughter, Brooke, who is how old now Brooke is nineteen? Mind
- 26:02blown because when I first met her, we were at Applebee's doing a Sesame
- 26:06Street giveaway stacking cookies and she was my daughter Sydney's age, which is just
- 26:10crazy. But I do have to do a little reminiscing speaking of that.
- 26:15Twelve years ago on this day, Pike, this guy right herem head wrote
- 26:19on your wall for your birthday, Happy birthday, MJ. Because you'd filled
- 26:25in on the morning show when I was gone and you were MJ Wilde.
- 26:29He said, have a super day. You're still one of my favorite female
- 26:30co hosts. The list goes like this, Number one, MJ wild Number
- 26:37two Amy Unra, a former Newswoman yep name. Number three is Yvonne Mahn
- 26:42also a former newswoman who filled in number did a great job. Number four,
- 26:47no female at all. I have some time off Number five. Amanda
- 26:52Lee, you made the top fivees hilarious. Nine years ago. You were
- 26:56in here with your daughter and your mom for Live Audience Friday. It's just
- 26:59been on to kind of have this journey with you on your birthday. Live
- 27:02Audience Friday was fun. That's a solid walckdown memory. Later, there were
- 27:06some good times. Do you remember you guys were doing an on air contest
- 27:08and my mom got in and we were like, oh, you were from
- 27:11the studio. Yeah, yeah, that was incredible. Michelle is one contest
- 27:17or two over the years, only on our station. Of course. Of
- 27:22course, now I want to go back to what a man is said,
- 27:25because it's your birthday, fiftieth birthday, and you're doing something called fifty fifty
- 27:29birthdays, fifty selfies. Fifty selfies for my fiftieth Yeah, okay, that
- 27:33makes more sense. So what is that? I just when I was turned
- 27:37forty, it was a wild time because ten years ago, yeah, ten
- 27:40years ago, Jay was in the hospital. My first selfie of the day
- 27:42was his head on a stick. I had Jay on a stick. I
- 27:45thought, right, I thought about taking him today and that I was like,
- 27:48you know, what's it's a new chapter. I still have Jay on
- 27:51a stick. He might make an appearance some day, but I like a
- 27:55something like that. It's just like a picture blown up like eight by ten.
- 27:57It's his head life size, like if you like, take the selfie
- 28:00just right. It kind of looks like you're here, and hang on,
- 28:03I wasn't planning this, but hang on, what does she have a surprise?
- 28:07Guys, I don't know what's going on. Oh, she's grabbing a
- 28:08cardboard head my huge chapter. Do you know what I have in the studio
- 28:14right now? Is Pike? A cutout of Pike? Because a year ago
- 28:18today, Pike and I started this new chapter of our lives. Oh my
- 28:22god, what a day. If you would like to have Pike today,
- 28:23here's your first selfie with Yeah, it's a huge cardboard and now that's actual
- 28:27size. Believe it or not, it's hard to resist. I did apply
- 28:32to, uh take Pike around town and that it would have been epic.
- 28:34But one contest you didn't win. I did not win that one. See,
- 28:37everybody thinks I win everything. It is not true. So you're gonna
- 28:41go around all day today getting fifty selfies. That's the goal. I am.
- 28:45I'm anybody can apply, everybody who's listening. I'm actually sixteen minutes late,
- 28:48already behind schedule. I'm supposed to be at Denny's. You know,
- 28:52it's kind of how I wad you got a whole day plan? What's the
- 28:53lineup? Look like? We're starting at Denny's because I'm going to get my
- 28:56free gerround slam and if y'all don't think I'm in a double side of bacon,
- 29:00think again, why wouldn't you? Then I'm heading to where am I
- 29:07going next? Sandy's Donuts? Yes? Oh MANA has a schedule all lined
- 29:11up here Sandy's Donuts. There's a parody so for lunch and classic. Then
- 29:15I'm gonna ride Shields Ferris Wheel for an hour. Okay, I was curious,
- 29:18are you really going to be on it for a full hour? I'm
- 29:22throw twenty bucks whoever wants to hop on with me. Let's go really so
- 29:25good. Now, if somebody shows up, can they share it a cart
- 29:27with you? Absolutely? And then they will be in the selfie book because
- 29:30I'm making a scrap book of my fifty selfies. Then we have some dinner
- 29:34plans, obviously, gonna go hit the old Mexican Village and across the street
- 29:38is Roundup Saloon and they have Rick Adams. It's fantastic, welcome music legend.
- 29:45Rick Adams. I saw him on the golf course yesterday. Nice you
- 29:48from what I saw, he dodged your ball or he I just saw him.
- 29:52I think he's a good player. Yeah, you have to ask him,
- 29:55but he's he's a good guitar player and singer. I know that.
- 29:57I did look to see if the old band Low Standards was playing anywhere tonight
- 30:00because I decided I need some live music on my birthday. But Rick Adams
- 30:03is all I found at the round Up, So I hope to see everybody
- 30:06out there. That's so fun. Do you need any support from a local
- 30:10radio station. Would you like to broadcast at any of these events? I
- 30:14mean, if you guys got some frist following you around all day long.
- 30:18Oh god, that's such a cool thing. And you know, we just
- 30:21want to wish you a happy fiftieth birthday, Michelle. You've been a part
- 30:22of the Big family for a lot of years and we are just thankful for
- 30:26you. Thank you guys so much. Here's too many more. Who Now,
- 30:30let's get you on record. Who's your favorite morning show? Intown Big
- 30:33ninety eight point seven? And like what people? I mean, there is
- 30:37nobody better than the Amandai. Hey, do you remember the party bus Driss,
- 30:41the one asking you forget my name? Or what I mean? Page?
- 30:48I know, but it's like show wise though I could at least be
- 30:52include. Oh you wanted me to say, Pike and a man in the
- 30:55more. Sorry, guys, well I take it back. Not a happy
- 31:00birthday, and I have a terrible day. Enjoy your day, just a
- 31:03normal day now, Michelle, thank you for coming in, taking a minute
- 31:06in the morning, Stage seven, Today's Ronny Big ninety a point seven.
- 31:10Good morning, Pike and Mandy in the morning. You're gonna be rainy today,
- 31:12High a sixty one. All of this stuff about red lobster is making
- 31:15me so hungry, Pike, What is all of this stuff about reps?
- 31:18Every time I'm turning around, every saying red lobster is like going out of
- 31:22business in different places, and it just keeps popping up, and it's just
- 31:25like it's making my tummy grumble, so making me want Red Lobster now the
- 31:27one here is still open, right, Yeah, I haven't heard anything about
- 31:30the local one, right. I've had a lot of memories at Red Lobster.
- 31:33That was always a tradition in our family, Like whenever there was something
- 31:37to celebrate or whatever it is, we'd go to the one in Saint Cloud
- 31:41and the ultimate feast. I have so many pictures of me kind of like
- 31:45eat, like with the lobster tail, like geez, you know, doing
- 31:48that I was always getting as a young man, I ate a lot,
- 31:52so i'd get like the Captain's platter or whatever, what have you. Yes,
- 31:56so many good things are like when they do emlish. Yeah, I
- 32:00think that's what put them under, is it not. Wasn't it the fact
- 32:04that people were like eating the amount of shrimp so it just literally sank the
- 32:07business. I'm not sure. I didn't. You would think though, because
- 32:10they have all those lives. The live lobster thing that always threw me off.
- 32:14I was like, are you really gonna cook up that longster? It
- 32:16wasn't interesting, I'll say, you know, made him stand out as a
- 32:20child going there to see like the live lobsters. I look forward to that
- 32:23this would become a red lobster conversation like a field trip. Yeah, sorry,
- 32:28I totally diverted us. But I feel like we should talk about it
- 32:30because I was one of those places. It was that or a Chinese restaurant.
- 32:36My mom would take me to celebrate before Christmas and we'd get the poo
- 32:38poo platter for two. But I love a little poo poo, but it
- 32:42would come on fire and then you like, grill it over and don't put
- 32:45it out with your boots. Ted, I don't get that. It's a
- 32:50Billy Madison reference. Oh sorry, you're not a young boy. So here
- 32:53here's my question. Where would you rank because what do they call the cheddar
- 32:55baby biscuits? Yes, where would you rank those as far as uh things
- 33:00that come out before the meal for free at a restaurant? Because these are
- 33:02going to be up olive garden breadsticks. You got the bread that comes out
- 33:06of Texas Roadhouse with the cinnamoni butter, and then you got the chedderbay biscuits.
- 33:10I think it's top. I think it's number one for it. But
- 33:13are we taking or are we taking like chips and salsa out of this?
- 33:15We're going just build that count gosh, if they come out hot and fresh
- 33:22and back there, it's impossible to beat cheddarbaby. Yeah, and you know
- 33:27what they nailed to, which is shocking. I know. I don't know
- 33:30if you can get them at like cash Wise Hornbarkers, but I remember you
- 33:31could get the Cheddar Bay biscuits and bake them for like Costco. You could
- 33:36buy them that was like a hot item for a little bit. And to
- 33:38be honest with you, please please be you do it right, follow that
- 33:43recipe and it was easy. I feel like it was just add water,
- 33:45goo up them on there. They tasted just like it, which is rare
- 33:49because usually it's like, oh, yeah, this will taste just like it.
- 33:52It doesn't. It never does. It's impossible to describe how good they are.
