- 2:35I, I was really going to, I went to two different parties on
- 2:38Sunday after driving home from Mohican Sagas.
- 2:42So we went to Salem on Saturday afternoon.
- 2:45We took a boat. We drove 2 1/2 hours up to
- 2:47Salem. You know, it only takes 3 hours
- 2:50to look around because we've been there a million times.
- 2:54So and she loves it. She loves the, the costumes.
- 2:57She, she loves that Halloween feeling.
- 3:00I am not a Halloween fan. You'll never see me dress up for
- 3:03Halloween. I think I've done it once.
- 3:05I was Maverick and my friend was Goose.
- 3:08I think that was the only time I dressed up for a Halloween.
- 3:11For a Halloween party that was actually pretty funny.
- 3:13I did one of these crazy dances. It was one of the fun.
- 3:15Do you do you like scary movies though?
- 3:17Love them, love them, love. Them.
- 3:21You can call me whatever you want.
- 3:22I'll be the first person to admit it.
- 3:24I'll own it. I don't do scary movies.
- 3:26I don't do haunted houses. I don't don't do none of that.
- 3:29Really. You don't like the scary movies?
- 3:32I no, no, I you know what? Like I'll own it.
- 3:37I but I just I've never been been a scary movie person.
- 3:42I I don't. Know I got a movie for all you
- 3:44people, all the fans out there. If you want to see a scary movie
- 3:47or a really good story and weird ending, go check out Weapons.
- 3:53That movie is crazy. That is a crazy movie.
- 3:57It's on HBO right now, HBO Max. It's called Weapons.
- 4:01The storyline is crazy. The whole thing it kids
- 4:04disappear off the face of the earth.
- 4:07This class disappears and everybody was blaming the
- 4:09teacher on the reasons why the kids disappeared.
- 4:13But it's not it has nothing to do with that.
- 4:15So it it's got so many twist to the story.
- 4:19Go check it out. It's called weapons.
- 4:21It really is good. My friend Ray told me about it.
- 4:23I checked it out. It was creepy.
- 4:25I actually was driving home and listen to it.
- 4:28Yes. I wasn't watching it.
- 4:30I was listening to it all the way home from Atlantic City when
- 4:33I went to see Khalid. It it, it actually is a really,
- 4:37really crazy movie. So Britney at the tip of her
- 4:40toes, she couldn't even watch anymore.
- 4:42She fell asleep because she got so creeped out from the movie.
- 4:45It is a really good movie. So go check it out.
- 4:48It's called weapons. On Thursday, the FBI charged and
- 4:51arrested 34 NBA players and coaches that were part of a wide
- 4:56range gambling investigation. Many have connections to the
- 5:01Mafia. He point guard Terry Rozier was
- 5:05the most notable player involved in the investigation.
- 5:09His involvement has been discussed since a game in 2023
- 5:14where he pulled himself from a game after just 9 minutes with
- 5:18an ankle injury to ensure his partners would win a prop bet of
- 5:24betting the under on the point total.
- 5:28ESP NS Brian Windhorst accused the NBA of being involved in
- 5:33pulling Rozier from the game to cover up the betting scandal,
- 5:38which Adam Silver has denied. However, the NBA did clear
- 5:43Rozier to play after their own investigation.
- 5:47Last season, former NBA All Star and Trailblazer head coach and
- 5:51Hall of Famer Chauncey Phillips was arrested after being
- 5:54involved with big poker games tied to the Italian Mafia.
- 5:58The FBI claims that Phillips was involved in cheating people out
- 6:04of their money with rigged card shuffling and X-ray glasses that
- 6:09could read the marked cars on the poker table.
- 6:12Former NBA guard and assistant Damon Jones was arrested after
- 6:18being involved in selling information about players injury
- 6:21reports including LeBron James. The first case February nineth
- 6:25in 2023 when he told his partner to place a big bet on the under
- 6:31of a prop with Lakers Player 3 because the player would be out.
- 6:37The player turned out to be Le Bron James, who was sitting out
- 6:42for that game the game after he broke a cream Abdul Jabbar's all
- 6:45time scoring record and Jones was also caught manipulating
- 6:50Anthony Davis's injury report on many occasions as well.
- 6:54Adam Silver says that the NBA is taking immediate action to the
- 6:59betting scandal to maintain the credibility of the league.
- 7:03There's a lot to get into this with the credibility of the
- 7:05league, and we all know about the the thing that happened
- 7:09years and years ago with the referee and Speedy uniform.
- 7:13I asked Speedy to reach out to him and we're going to probably
- 7:16get him on the show in the very near future.
- 7:19There's a lot to get into. There's a lot of layers to this
- 7:21story and there's still layers to be told to this story.
- 7:25Adam Silver to me is the guy that I'm going to point my
- 7:28fingers at. He is running the organization.
- 7:31He is the league commissioner. And this is a guy that's been
- 7:35behind of the growth of the league and and really
- 7:38understanding sports betting. He was the guy behind the sports
- 7:42betting when it was being legalized here in New York,
- 7:44legalized being brought to practically 40 or 50 different
- 7:49states in the country. And he's the one that has
- 7:52brought up that the league is going to make money and the
- 7:55players are going to make money. The crazy story here and, and
- 7:58the person that has been brought into the story and it's really
- 8:01been growing legs is Chauncey Billups.
- 8:03Chauncey Billups is a very successful head coach, very
- 8:06successful player, made a lot of money as a player.
- 8:08He's an all time great point guard.
- 8:10He's won championship with the Detroit Pistons.
- 8:13I remember when he was traded to the Nuggets to play with Carmelo
- 8:16Anthony and Allen. Well, he was traded for Allen
- 8:18Iverson, I think. And Allen Iverson was traded to
- 8:20Detroit. Chauncey Phillips is is the
- 8:25interesting story here. The X-ray glasses and, and
- 8:28working with the mafia. That's something that you, you
- 8:30don't understand. This is a guy that's making tons
- 8:32and tons of money as an NBA. Hey coach, get a chance to to be
- 8:36the face of an organization and, and being the lead guy for an
- 8:39organization, something that Chauncey Phillips always wanted
- 8:42to be. I remember as a point guard, I,
- 8:45I couldn't stand you on T Phillips because he always beat
- 8:48the Knicks. He always beat the teams that I
- 8:50rooted for and he he was always the guy that always showed up to
- 8:54games and it was the big part. He was the point guard of those
- 8:58great Detroit Piston teams. I remember Rick Hamilton, I
- 9:02remember Prince, I remember all those great players, Rasheed
- 9:05Wallace, who Rasheed Wallace came out and said some
- 9:07interesting things about the NBA as well about the referees.
- 9:11And he believes that it's the referees have been part of, you
- 9:15know, shaving points for years. And he came out recently and he
- 9:18said that on a podcast. But the, the one that's going to
- 9:23get into a lot of trouble is Damian Jones.
- 9:25And I think he's the one behind all these stories.
- 9:29He's been working with the Mafia.
- 9:30He was the one shedding points and, and, and, and telling,
- 9:34telling certain people and partners and mafia guys to bet
- 9:38on certain players and not a play, not playing in games like
- 9:41LeBron James. And a lot of people think that
- 9:43LeBron James was a part of it. The nothing says that LeBron
- 9:46James was a part of any of these accusations.
- 9:49He has not been, his name has not been brought up in any of
- 9:52these accusations except that he was one of the players that that
- 9:56was bet on after sitting out for these specific games.
- 10:01So, and, and Anthony Davis is another one that was brought up
- 10:04as well. But I, I think when you look at
- 10:05Terry Rozier, Terry Rozier is a player that is making a ton of
- 10:09money. He's making $26 million.
- 10:12He's made a lot of money as an NBA player.
- 10:14I remember when he was drafted. I remember when he was playing
- 10:16for Boston. He's been in a league for over
- 10:1810 years. The fact that Terry Rozier is
- 10:21betting and and shaving off points and games that he is
- 10:24sitting out or hurt or any of that for 50,000 or $100,000.
- 10:29I don't know what the numbers are.
- 10:31I don't know what the total numbers are.
- 10:32When you're a multi millionaire, it makes no sense.
- 10:35The NBA for years has had these problems.
- 10:38And I'm, I'm talking about whenever legalized betting
- 10:41wasn't here, Mafia was a part of legalized betting or betting in
- 10:46the NCAAI, remember. Has anybody seen the movie
- 10:49Goodfellas? Goodfellas was a part of, you
- 10:54know, when you, when you look at all that Ray Ray Liotta and
- 10:57Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci and everybody was talking about the
- 11:00killing and all the different things and the stealing of
- 11:02money. You know how those guys got
- 11:04caught? They got caught on sports
- 11:06betting. They got caught when it came to
- 11:08college basketball. That's how they got caught.
- 11:11And you talk about the NBA and professional sports, this isn't
- 11:14going to be the first and it's not going to be the last time
- 11:16this happens. Adam Silver is a guy that should
- 11:21absolutely be reprimanded and I don't know who can reprimand
- 11:24him. I guess the owners could
- 11:26reprimand him. He is the guy that let Terry
- 11:28Rozier and walked let Terry Rozier walk away from this
- 11:32Porter. This is a guy that was banned
- 11:35from the league for for the rest of his life.
- 11:37This guy, Terry Rozier has been caught not once but twice.
- 11:40The NBA investigated and pretty much waved it off and pretty
- 11:44much shrugged it off like it didn't exist.
- 11:46Now all of a sudden he gets, he gets caught by the FBI, the FBI
- 11:50investigates it and now he's going, he could go to jail for a
- 11:54go to jail for a significant amount of time.
- 11:56You wonder what the NBA is trying to hide, what the NBA has
- 12:00been hiding over the last couple of years trying to protect the
- 12:02players. And and again, going back to the
- 12:05understanding of what the way the NBA works, the NBA is run by
- 12:09the players. I call the NBA the LGA, LeBron
- 12:12James Association. I do it for a reason, because
- 12:14LeBron James has been running the league really since he's
- 12:17come into the league in 2003, 2004.
- 12:20And you look at the league now, it's different when Michael
- 12:23Jordan played. It's different when Charles
- 12:24Barkley. Charles Barkley came out on ESPN
- 12:28and he spoke his piece and he took shots at Kenny and you know
- 12:32Kenny Smith and he took shots at Shaquille O'Neal.
- 12:35He didn't like their takes on on the actual thought on the NBA
- 12:40and the NBA has nothing to be blamed for.
- 12:42The NBA has everything to be blamed for.
- 12:44These players should be controlled.
- 12:46These players should be put in their place if they're getting
- 12:50caught once they should have been.
- 12:51He should have been suspended for 50 games, 60 games.
- 12:54Look at baseball. If you're caught with steroids
- 12:57one time, you're out for a significant amount of time.
- 13:00I don't know what the number is, Speedy.
- 13:01You know what the number is. It changes every year.
- 13:03I think the first offense was 30 games.
- 13:04I think the next one was 80. 80 OK. 80 The next offense is 80.
- 13:08And then after that you're suspended for life.
- 13:11Now this is sports betting. This is completely different
- 13:14from steroids. And remember when Bud Selig was,
- 13:17you know, he had his hand dipped into this.
- 13:19He was trying to save baseball. That's why he he shrugged it.
- 13:22You know, he kind of looked over his shoulder at Mark McGuire and
- 13:25Sammy Sosa when they were on that home run race for Roger
- 13:28Maris's record. Remember that?
- 13:29And then the Barry Bonds thing. So baseball was being attacked
- 13:33because of steroids. Nothing is as bad as betting on
- 13:37sports. Think about it.
- 13:39Why is, and I, I'll say this again, there's a player that
- 13:42played for Cincinnati, the Cincinnati Reds and Speedy.
- 13:45You know what I'm speaking about, right?
- 13:47Pete Rose. Pete Rose was one of the
- 13:50greatest baseball players of all time, one of the greatest
- 13:52hitters of all time. Pete Rose has never been ducted
- 13:56into the Hall of Fame. Pete Rose has never gone to any
- 13:59baseball games. He wasn't allowed to go to
- 14:02baseball, All Star games, any of those things.
- 14:05After betting on baseball. Now he didn't even bet as far as
- 14:09what he has said. He didn't even bet against his
- 14:10own team. He bet for his team to win those
- 14:13games. You think about Rozier, he was
- 14:16betting against himself. He was betting him for himself
- 14:18to be hurt. He's betting for his, the amount
- 14:20of minutes that he was playing and shedding points that that to
- 14:23me is the ultimate cheating scandal.
- 14:27And then you talk about the the fact that Damon, Damon Jones,
- 14:31who I know him very, very well. I remember when he played with
- 14:34LeBron James with the the Heat, He played with the Cavaliers.
- 14:38He's coached everywhere. LeBron James has been the
- 14:41Lakers. He's been all over there as an
- 14:43assistant coach. This is a guy that has been a
- 14:46part of LeBron James career since he's come into the league
- 14:49as a player and now as a coach. And to think about what this guy
- 14:53I was a part of and he was taught he was a part of this as
- 14:57far as you know, shedding points and, and, and, and, and the
- 15:00ultimate no, no with the NBA is and Charles Barkley said it best
- 15:04is you do not if you know a player is not playing in a game
- 15:10or you know, a guy is not probably going to play in a, you
- 15:13know, a certain amount of games. You are not to tell the press,
- 15:16you're not to tell the meteor, you're not to tell anybody what
- 15:19you know. That could happen.
- 15:21It could affect the game and affect sports betting.
- 15:24Well, this guy has been doing it and I, and I'm sure this is not
- 15:28the first or second time. I'm sure he's done it multiple
- 15:31Times Now. They're investigating.
- 15:33There's still an ongoing, ongoing investigation.
- 15:37There are other players that are not mentioned in this story that
- 15:42could be superstars that could come out and it could be they
- 15:46could be thrown to the wolves. And you know, the FBI doesn't
- 15:48care. The FBI named all four mafia
- 15:52organization families that were part of this.
- 15:55Think about that. There were four, four of them,
- 15:58the Gambino, the all of them. It's I know Gambino is one of
- 16:03them because I'm actually related to the family.
- 16:06But nevertheless, this is going to get even worse.
- 16:11And Brian Wynn Horse said it best.
- 16:13He said it best the other day and he said it best today on
- 16:16ESPN. He said that the NBA is going to
- 16:20do everything they can to brush this under the rug.
- 16:23The problem here is the story is becoming even bigger for the NBA
- 16:29to control. And what is it going to take?
- 16:31Does Adam Silver have to step down now because it's happening,
- 16:36All this stuff is happening when he is the commissioner of the
- 16:39league. David Stern When, when, when
- 16:42this saw all the stuff that was going on with the referees with,
- 16:45what's his name, Tim Donaghy, David Stern, he pretty much
- 16:50threw Tim Donaghy to the wolves. He said, you know what, You're
- 16:53never refereeing in college basketball.
- 16:57You're never refereeing in the NBA, You're never refereeing
- 16:59again. He put it all on Donaghy when
- 17:02there were other guys and Donaghy was on a show today and
- 17:05he even said there were other guys involved with it, other
- 17:07referees, other players that were involved in the scandal.
- 17:11And what did David Stern do? He blamed it all on me.
- 17:14He threw me to the wolves. He made me take the brunt and
- 17:17and take the fall for it. Adam Silver hasn't done that.
- 17:21Adam Silver saved and protected Terry Rozier.
- 17:24He threw Porter and if I was Porter and I was Michael Porters
- 17:27brother and I and I, I knew about this and I knew that Terry
- 17:31Rozier has been caught by the FBI and knew that I took the
- 17:34fall on this and I can never play NBA basketball again.
- 17:37I'm writing. I'm writing to the NBA.
- 17:39I'm suing the NBA right now because the NBA let Terry Rozier
- 17:44go back and play basketball. He let, they let and I'm sure
- 17:47the NBA knew something about Damian Jones and I absolutely
- 17:51knew. I don't know about Chauncey
- 17:52Billups, because Chauncey Billups, as far as what I know
- 17:56is, is not in the bad. He's they're saying that it's
- 18:01not as bad as Terry Rozier and Damian Jones.
- 18:04So the, the story is going to get worse and, and I think we're
- 18:09going to hear in the next, I would say in the next year, year
- 18:12and a half, that they're going to be more NBA players being
- 18:16arrested and fined and maybe seen jail time in the very, very
- 18:21near future. Yeah, you're right.
- 18:22Because you also look at the links that can be involved too.
- 18:24You're talking about Damon Jones being the obvious one link to
- 18:26LeBron James. And I agree with, I don't think
- 18:28LeBron like was directly saying, oh, I'm not going to play
- 18:30tonight to him because again, he hasn't coached.
- 18:32I think he was an assistant coach with the Cavs in 2018 was
- 18:35the last time he was directly connected.
- 18:36He's not directly connected with the Lakers organization.
- 18:38That being said. He's connected to LeBron James,
- 18:40but he's. Connected to LeBron James and
- 18:42LeBron James you know he likes he likes to cherry pick yeah he
- 18:45likes to cherry pick his own coaches so there might be a
- 18:47mutual between who was on the Cavs and who was on the Lakers
- 18:50now or who was on the Cavs and who was on Miami when he was a
- 18:52player stuff like that that still can get information like
- 18:55that and we talked about that with other betting scandals in
- 18:57the past with the with the NFL players and some of our guests
- 18:59have mentioned oh these NFL players could know coaches who
- 19:02know what the game plan is going to be this week so bet this guy
- 19:05to be under and receiving yard so that's where I think Damon
- 19:08Jones and maybe there's other players that could be connected
- 19:10with that kind of thing too just based on.
- 19:12Maybe what I'm really what I'm reading is Damon Jones is the
- 19:16most he's he's the one that's getting thrown to the wolves.
- 19:19He is the most, he's getting the most trouble.
- 19:22He is, you know, he's in the hole right now and he could be
- 19:25buried. They're saying there's just so
- 19:27much more Intel, more Intel on him and what he did than any one
- 19:32of these guys. And then there's Terry Rozier
- 19:34and then Chauncey Phillips. They're saying that Chauncey
- 19:36Phillips can actually go into court and and pretty much say he
- 19:41doesn't know anything about this and they don't.
- 19:44They can't really pin anything on him except the guard games.
- 19:47And to me, he's not going to see any jail time.
- 19:50He might lose his job, but he's not going to see any jail.
- 19:52Yeah, because he wasn't the real mastermind, I think as he was,
- 19:54he was doing it with the mafia. Let the Italian mafia forget the
- 19:57actual name of it. But whatever, whatever cartel he
- 20:01was a part of, he wasn't the main mastermind.
- 20:03Like Rozier obviously manipulated his own stat line.
- 20:06Jante Porter manipulated his own stat line.
- 20:08So like you actually can control that in basketball more than any
- 20:11other sport. I think we talked about this at
- 20:13the time of the Jante Porter and said you can control your own
- 20:15outcome a lot more than any other sport because in baseball
- 20:19you could. All right, I have an over bet
- 20:20for my walks. I'm not going to swing on a
- 20:22pitch. That doesn't mean that all the
- 20:23pitches are going to be out of the strike zone.
- 20:24In hockey, same kind of thing. You could have a shot on goal
- 20:27that is just clear in the puck. You're not going to be able to
- 20:29control that. That kind of thing.
- 20:30But at basketball, you're the one holding the ball.
- 20:32Especially Rosier as a guard, you could hold the ball out of
- 20:35the time. Just imagine if they're
- 20:37investigating, the FBI is still going to dig.
- 20:40If the FBI finds out that I'm not mentioning, I'm not going to
- 20:44say for sure LeBron James was involved with this.
- 20:47Just think about that because a lot of people believe LeBron
- 20:50James was involved with the Diddy thing and that he was.
- 20:53He was going to the Diddy parties.
- 20:54He was a part of those parties. Imagine if LeBron James or Kyrie
- 20:58Irving or one of these other guys, some of these big stars,
- 21:02because think about it, Terry Rozier is not a big star.
- 21:05Chauncey Billups is. This guy is very well respected
- 21:09around the league. You, you heard from Smith and
- 21:12you heard from Barclay and you heard from Shaq that innocent
- 21:16until proven guilty as as Jabba uses that line all the time with
- 21:19Ohtani. So until proven guilty, they're
- 21:23going to say, well, until that is proven in a court of law,
- 21:26that doesn't mean anything. But again, why would the FBI
- 21:30mention his name and arrest him if they didn't have a lot on
- 21:33him? That's what I'm saying.
- 21:35The same thing to go with all the other guys, the 4034 players
- 21:39that are involved with this, which were not named.
- 21:41Now, I, I again, they're still digging and I think they're
- 21:44going to dig even further and I think they're going to be other
- 21:47big names involved in this scandal.
- 21:50And again, there's no way the NBA is going to brush this under
- 21:53the rug. And I've heard a lot of
- 21:55different broadcasters and analysts say, well, it's not as
- 21:58bad as people think it is. What are you talking about?
- 22:00Sports betting has become as big around the world than anything
- 22:06in anything. It's sports, and sports betting
- 22:09is sports now. They're betting on everything.
- 22:11They're betting on parlays, they're betting on games.
- 22:13They're betting on if their toenail falls off their toe in a
- 22:16game. I mean, serious, you could bet
- 22:18on anything now. You could bet in the Super Bowl,
- 22:22what song these guys are playing in the halftime, the color of
- 22:26the Gatorade. I mean, there's betting all the
- 22:29time now when it comes to FanDuel and DraftKings.
- 22:32You're going to tell me right now this isn't a big deal.
- 22:34This is a huge deal. Think about it.
- 22:37And the NBA is wrapped again around it because the NBA does
- 22:42not know how to control the players.
- 22:44They don't know how to control the coaches.
- 22:46It's run by the players. That's the problem right now.
- 22:49And I said this about all the sports in football, the coaches
- 22:53are the most important position in all of, you know, all sports,
- 22:57especially in football, because the coaches have a big part of
- 23:00the players and what the players do on the field and off the
- 23:03field. Bill Belichick, you talk about
- 23:05all these guys, Aaron Glenn, these guys are part of these
- 23:08guys everyday lives in the NBA after practices.
- 23:12Are these NBA coaches have anything to do with these guys
- 23:15in their lives? The answer is no.
- 23:17That's why every single NBA player has their own podcast
- 23:21Think. About it and one of them got
- 23:22hired because LeBron is his best friend of his.
- 23:25Podcast exactly exactly think about it.
- 23:28The the LA Lakers coach right now is is no other than the guy
- 23:33that was his partner on his podcast.
- 23:36So it it to me it's there's nothing new to this and I'm
- 23:40telling you this is not good for the NBA and the NBA is behind it
- 23:44again. They're they're in this scandal.
- 23:46When is it going? When is somebody going to drop
- 23:48the hammer on Adam Silver? Adam Silver is running this
- 23:52league. He's letting the players run
- 23:55this league. When are they going to do
- 23:57something about? It and again, there's other
- 23:59links like I think Chauncey Billups, though I don't know if
- 24:02they have enough evidence on it yet, but there was a belief that
- 24:04Tyronn Lue knew something too. And obviously they're two
- 24:07different teams. So I don't know how connected
- 24:08they are with the the information that Billups
- 24:10obviously was coaching the Blazers and obviously Luke
- 24:12Ocean, the Clippers. I don't know how much
- 24:13information that they had to be able to directly impact the
- 24:17results. But there's the belief that
- 24:18Tyron Luke could be involved in, like we're saying with LeBron,
- 24:20there could be belief in another that.
- 24:22And that's the go to the point of what you were saying before
- 24:24the selective treatment that Jonte Porter got banned for
- 24:28life. But Terry Rozier said, oh, well,
- 24:30you could go back in the game and we'll shut you down for the
- 24:32rest of the year, but you can still play next year and we
- 24:34won't say anything about it. Like why does that get why does
- 24:37Terry Rozier get a pass for that kind of thing?
- 24:39Why? Because he's a better he was a
- 24:40better player like it. That should not to happen in the
- 24:42NBA whatsoever or in any sport, just being selective treatments.
- 24:48Well, you know, that's I mean that's going to happen.
- 24:50Obviously, we've we've seen it with every sport.
- 24:53What I don't I didn't it's we we've said it before and a lot
- 24:56of things. Is this going to be like tip of
- 24:58the iceberg? We're only seeing like this much
- 25:00of it and then is more going to come out and what are they going
- 25:03to like? Where do they draw the line with
- 25:06with that selective of, you know, do you punish everybody
- 25:09the same? Do you kind of play, I mean,
- 25:13because you can't really do it on an individual basis, can you?
- 25:16Because if there is this many, how are you going to be able to
- 25:19like distinguish which one is worse or which one isn't?
- 25:22I, it's, it's not good for anybody in, in any sport when it
- 25:27comes to this, because it leaves a bad taste in your mouth.
- 25:29And, you know, I'll bring up the Otani thing.
- 25:31It's like, you know, it's still talked about.
- 25:33And are you ever going to really know the final answer?
- 25:37I you don't know. And with this is stuff still
- 25:42going to keep coming out? Are they going to find out more
- 25:43stuff? I it's, it's weird and how it
- 25:47all kind of transgressed into one big thing and how other
- 25:50names have popped up. There's like there's been a
- 25:52bunch of gambling ones where I saw like Antonio Gates's name
- 25:55and a bunch of other stuff. And it's just like it feels like
- 25:58it's cross pollinating in other sports too, which can never be
- 26:01good. Kevin Garnett.
- 26:03I've heard his name being brought up in the conversation.
- 26:06A conversation Rasheed Wallace coming out and saying that he
- 26:09believes that referees throughout his career were
- 26:12shaving points in games and he says that the NBA has been a
- 26:16hoax. And and he says that as a player
- 26:18and as a champion, I I didn't like playing in the NBA because
- 26:22of these situations, because he felt like the game wasn't being
- 26:25treated in a professional kind of way.
- 26:28And I think the the NBA needs to look himself.
- 26:31I think the the commissioner needs to look himself in the
- 26:34Mirror Now. They need to figure out like,
- 26:37where is this league going now, now that sports betting is a big
- 26:40part of the growth and the money that we're going to be bringing
- 26:43in the future. How does this work when you have
- 26:46players shaving points, players using those capabilities when it
- 26:52comes to social media and different ways of getting it out
- 26:55on, on different platforms to tell it, hey, all it takes, and
- 27:00it's crazy to say this. If there's somebody, a janitor
- 27:03working at a stadium and he sees somebody or he hears somebody
- 27:08saying that this guy is not playing and then sends it to a
- 27:11friend and a friend puts a prop bet on it on a game or something
- 27:15of that magnitude. And it could affect the game.
- 27:17It anything is possible now. And it's, it's free to, you
- 27:20know, it's free because you can't blame the janitor if he's
- 27:23getting information not to make a bet.
- 27:26Well, and we talked about that too.
- 27:28What's stopping all you guys that you can see it and guys
- 27:31that are actively involved in their sport endorsing it.
- 27:34And then Lebron's obviously won. But what's to say the guy that,
- 27:38you know, we, we look at all these bets like, you know, Super
- 27:41Bowl, you can go look up every bet before the game starts.
- 27:45And like, what's to say exactly? The janitor, your cousin, your
- 27:49cousin's best friend, where it's like, hey, split this 100 grand,
- 27:52200 grand, 10 different ways and go put it in different spots.
- 27:57What's stopping them from doing it?
- 27:58Because it's so readily available to be able to do it
- 28:02that if, if you have a little bit of sense about it, you, you
- 28:06would never get caught, No. And I don't think people are.
- 28:09I think a lot of players are going to get away with it,
- 28:11superstar players, just like I believe Shay Otani got away
- 28:14with. I know Jabba, you're going to
- 28:16stand up and you got to believe whatever you want to believe.
- 28:18But the FBI was involved with that.
- 28:20And then all of a sudden, after two weeks, the FBI disappears.
- 28:23Nobody speaking about it. Shay Otani is pretty much
- 28:26everything was pushed under the rug.
- 28:28Nobody knows. And there were so many offshore
- 28:30accounts. There were so many years that it
- 28:32was, there were so many years that this been, this has been
- 28:35going on in a two weeks time. You're investigated.
- 28:38Look how long it took the FBI to investigate this.
- 28:41You're talking about 5-6 years. And now there's still more that
- 28:45they're investigating on it and they still don't have the whole
- 28:48story. You can honestly tell me that
- 28:51it's seven years or six years that Sheryl Attani was doing
- 28:53that or well, whatever is his interpreter was doing it.
- 28:57He knew nothing about it and and no money was going to him.
- 29:00I, I, I just can't believe that now again, he's off.
- 29:05He's he's not in trouble. He's not getting in trouble for
- 29:07it. And, and, and again, innocent
- 29:09until proven guilty, like you say, Jabba.
- 29:11So I guess that's the way we're going to play this game.
- 29:13But I, I just feel like the NBA has more in the knows more about
- 29:21this story more than what do they say?
- 29:23What is that transformer saying more than more than meets the
- 29:27eye? OK, that's what that's what I
- 29:29would say that the NBA knows. They know a lot more in depth
- 29:33about this story than the FBII think knows and I think.
- 29:38But I feel like what you guys said, though, one of the biggest
- 29:40crooks is the one leading the brigade.
- 29:42And Adam Silver, like he said he didn't know when when they were
- 29:47talking about. Which is a lie.
- 29:50Joby Joby. He went on the Pat Joby, he went
- 29:53on the Pat McAfee show before this announcement even came out.
- 29:58He was on the Pat McAfee show trying to clean this up before
- 30:02this story came out and the FBIFBI made it.
- 30:05Made an announcement about Terry Rozier and Chauncey Billups and
- 30:10Damon Jones. He came out, he was on the ESPN
- 30:15Pat McAfee trying to clean this crap up before it even happened.
- 30:18So you're going to tell me that he didn't know anything about
- 30:20it? Of course he knew about it.
- 30:23He was just trying to clean it up, throw the dirt on it, bury
- 30:27it. And I don't think it's going to
- 30:29get buried. I think it's going to get worse
- 30:31and, and somebody needs to be blamed for this and it's going
- 30:34to be the commissioner. The commissioner needs to step
- 30:37up to the plate and, and try to find something and, and try to
- 30:40speak to the media and, and, and try to stand up for this story
- 30:45and, and try to clean up some of the story which which we it
- 30:48doesn't make the NBA look good. It doesn't make the Chauncey
- 30:51Phillips look good. Chauncey Phillips is very well
- 30:54respected around the league. I feel bad for Chauncey because
- 30:57Chauncey is behind all of this. So I even though Chauncey out of
- 31:00all three of the guys that were mentioned, is the least in
- 31:03trouble out of both guys, but he's going to see jail time
- 31:07100%, especially if he's working with the mafia.
- 31:10And you know, it's illegal when you hear the mafia's name being
- 31:12brought up. And it wasn't just one family,
- 31:15it was four families being brought up in these
- 31:17conversations. So it's a, it's a horrible
- 31:20story, he told. Me jerk, why'd you take your
- 31:22pants off? My balls were fine.
- 31:28It's. Time this is.
- 31:31Cajun MMA. All right, so the UFC 321
- 31:36Heavyweight championship match Saturday afternoon at 2:00,
- 31:41which most people were not watching between Tom Espinal and
- 31:46C Roll Gone ended with a no contest as Gone poked Espinal in
- 31:51the eye twice at the end of the first round.
- 31:54Espinal was not able to continue the fight and had to be rushed
- 31:59to the hospital after he was completely unable to see out of
- 32:04the right eye. Espinal also said he
- 32:07contemplated a retirement after losing his vision in his right
- 32:12eye. Espinal also reference Michael
- 32:15Bisping being still being able to fight at a high level after
- 32:20going blind in his eye. I remember that but says he
- 32:24would never be able to fight at that level.
- 32:27Former MMA champion Demetrius Johnson as they called Mighty
- 32:32Mouse stuck up for gone saying he doesn't think he poked
- 32:37Espinol in the eye deliberately. Former UFC champion Jim Miller
- 32:42fought the opposite, claiming that the eye poking was was not
- 32:47an accident and posted a screenshot on the Instagram of
- 32:52all the MMA rules that gone violated.
- 32:56Alex Perez said he is willing to move to heavyweight to make the
- 33:00heavyweight division great again and wants to fight at the White
- 33:05House for the Super fight between him and John Jones, who
- 33:08said he would come out of retirement for that fight.
- 33:12Jones responded to Pereira saying he wants to bring the
- 33:16highest level of skill to the White House, and Jones also
- 33:21trolled Espinal on Twitter, changing his profile picture to
- 33:25a duck with an eye patch holding the UFC championship belt.
- 33:30Nobody cared about the other fights.
- 33:32The fights were horrible. It was really, really just not
- 33:36put the way I thought that the UFC should have put the, the,
- 33:40the undercard fights. I, I just thought that the UFC
- 33:44and Dana White was reaching in the other fights.
- 33:48Everybody was looking at, if you look at Mackenzie Dern and, and
- 33:51that fight and even, you know, Khabib's younger cousin Omar,
- 33:58whatever his name is, defeated Mario Batista.
- 34:01The, the, all these fights were to me, they weren't top end
- 34:07fights. The UFC was reaching on this
- 34:09card last fight and we were talking about this, Jake, last
- 34:13time you were on that. The last fight was sensational.
- 34:16I thought Dana White put it very well together and I thought it
- 34:20was great the way he was putting it together and and I thought he
- 34:23was going to continue that way moving forward with UFC2321 and
- 34:283:22 and 3:23. This card was horrible.
- 34:31It really was. There was nothing that really
- 34:33stood out to me. There's no future champion, I
- 34:36honestly or top end champion part of this.
- 34:40And I know you're going to see the strawweight championship.
- 34:42Nobody cares about the strawweight championship.
- 34:44No, nobody cares about that. You know, so I, I, I just
- 34:48thought that you, the UFC and Dana White was reaching the
- 34:50Espinal fight and, and the God fight was the fight that
- 34:54everybody wanted to see. Tom Espinal, who hasn't fought
- 34:56in over a year, he's supposed to fight Jon Jones and, and, and
- 35:00Jon Jones decided to retire and walk away from the heavyweight
- 35:04division because he didn't want to fight Tom Espinal.
- 35:07And, and Espinal actually came out and, and gave a shout out to
- 35:12Jones, Jon Jones, when he decided to retire and say,
- 35:14listen, everybody has an opportunity to retire.
- 35:17I, I, I don't hate him for, for deciding to step away from
- 35:20fighting and taking care of his family.
- 35:22And, and by the way, Jon Jones just lost the brother too.
- 35:25So you know, he's taking care of his family and all that other
- 35:28stuff. So I, Jon Jones has had his own
- 35:31demons over the years as well. So walking away from mixed
- 35:34martial arts and UFC, a lot of people thought he was ducking
- 35:37and weaving Tom Espinal. And maybe he was.
- 35:39Maybe he was, maybe it was a mismatch for a guy like Jon
- 35:42Jones to fight Espinal. But to watch a fight like this
- 35:45and the way it did it, it was very Mike Tyson esque.
- 35:49And I, I, I'll tell you why. It kind of reminds me of the
- 35:52Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield fight.
- 35:54Now everybody couldn't wait for that fight.
- 35:57Mike Tyson got out of jail, won his first fight, you know, first
- 36:01fight back. And and this, this was like the
- 36:03Super fight. Everybody couldn't wait for
- 36:05Holyfield Tyson and they were building it up.
- 36:08It was such a build up. And Holyfield, who is the
- 36:11champion and and one of the greatest fighters of all time,
- 36:14and Mike Tyson, one of the greatest heavyweights of all
- 36:16time. And that fight was an absolute
- 36:20joke. Why?
- 36:21Because Mike Tyson decide to not only bite Evander Holyfield deer
- 36:26once, he bit it twice and then they called the fight, if you
- 36:30remember, and Mike Tyson will always be remembered as the air
- 36:34biter. And as a matter of fact, he has
- 36:36his own his own weed, you know, his weed.
- 36:41What do they call that? Edibles, which is Evander
- 36:43Holyfield deer. So it brings up this fight and
- 36:47you talk about Espinal and, and and and you, you can't, you
- 36:50can't compare this to Michael Bisping because Michael Bisping
- 36:54fought blind for years. It wasn't, it wasn't one fight.
- 36:59It was years that nobody knew he was blind and and he won a
- 37:04championship. He won the middle weight.
- 37:06I think it was the middle weight championship of the world or was
- 37:08it a welterweight championship of the world.
- 37:11He won, he won a champion, one of the biggest titles in UFC
- 37:14history and he was he was blind in his right eye.
- 37:17This is not the same. You're fighting in heavyweight
- 37:20division and you even consider yourself fighting against some
- 37:23of the the biggest and the baddest fighters and the
- 37:26heaviest fighters in in all of mixed martial arts in the
- 37:29hardest, you know, hardest in competition in the UFC.
- 37:34You you would say that if Espinal is, is blind in that
- 37:37eye, I don't know if he ever fights again.
- 37:40And the fact that Jon Jones now is taking shots at Espinal on
- 37:45social media and and calling him a DACA, whatever the hell he's
- 37:49doing on social media is pretty pathetic.
- 37:52Because when he decided to retire, not fight Tom Espinal,
- 37:56as everybody remembers, Espinal didn't attack him.
- 38:00It didn't call him a pussy, didn't call him a weenie.
- 38:02He didn't do any of those things.
- 38:04He just said, you know, enjoy your retirement, enjoy your
- 38:07family. You can't hate on somebody that
- 38:09wants to spend time with his family.
- 38:11So it it's just pathetic that Jon Jones is is striking a guy
- 38:15that's down and that goes to Demarius Johnson.
- 38:20Now, I respect Mighty Mouse. I respect him.
- 38:24He's one of the greatest fighters the UFC has ever seen,
- 38:29but he didn't fight anybody. He didn't beat anybody.
- 38:32And the fact that Demarius Johnson came out and say that he
- 38:35doesn't blame gone. It wasn't deliberate.
- 38:38How is it not deliberate when you were poked in the eye not
- 38:41once but twice in the first round?
- 38:45And that's why you see guys like Jim Miller come out and say, are
- 38:49you kidding me? If you read the instructions and
- 38:52you read the rule book of mixed martial arts, you would know if
- 38:56you do it once, you're, you're automatically, you're
- 38:58automatically what? What's the word?
- 39:03What's the word disqualified? That's the, that's the best
- 39:06word. You're automatically
- 39:08disqualified in the UFC rules if you poke a man in the eye when
- 39:12he's down. He did it twice.
- 39:15So in the rule book, as Jim Miller came out and said he
- 39:18should have been disqualified and it shouldn't have been a
- 39:21draw. But the UFC decided to give it a
- 39:24draw even though Espinal should have automatically won the
- 39:27fight. So I didn't get that.
- 39:30I feel bad for Tom Espinal because he hasn't fought in over
- 39:34a year and now he fights in a fight that didn't even go, it
- 39:37didn't really go full fully through the first round and it's
- 39:42a draw and and he might never fight in the UFC again because
- 39:45of being poked the way he was in his eyes.
- 39:47So I, I don't know, I, I think Dana White needs to investigate
- 39:51this. I think there's there's a lot
- 39:52more to this story than meets the eye as well.
- 39:55Yeah, I think there's a lot that there, Errol.
- 39:57It was really disappointing that that's the way that the fight
- 39:59ended on, you know, Saturday afternoon I was watching college
- 40:02football as well, so my my time was a little bit split.
- 40:05And the card itself, you're right, it was a little bit
- 40:07underwhelming. I do got to give a quick shout
- 40:09out though to. Quelan S kid, he had an amazing
- 40:14head kick knockout in the in the last fight of the prelims.
- 40:17It was unbelievable. The poor guy who head kick, it
- 40:19almost looked like he wasn't going to get up, but thankfully
- 40:21he was OK. But it was a crazy highlight.
- 40:23But yeah, for Tom Aspinall, I mean, it's really disappointing
- 40:26because like you said, he's been sidelined for over a year now
- 40:30because he was promised Jon Jones.
- 40:31We thought all this build up was coming.
- 40:34Then we got the steep a miocic fight, which I was like, OK, you
- 40:36know, we don't really need this, but give Jono tune up for Tom
- 40:39Aspinall. Then he said pay me 30, 30
- 40:42million and Dana said OK, and then it never happened.
- 40:44Is like he just ducked Tom Aspinall the whole time because
- 40:47Tom was promised this fight and he's been off a year long for a
- 40:50layoff. And the part that I think it's
- 40:52most disappointing about this is Tom Aspinall didn't even get to
- 40:55earn the title of being the lineal undisputed champion.
- 40:58He was given that title because John was tech.
- 41:00I mean, I in my opinion, I consider John's rain voided.
- 41:04That doesn't count. That's like aside from the sport
- 41:06because if you look at it, Tom Aspinall, he defended his
- 41:09interim championship against Curtis Blades.
- 41:11Like you don't defend an interim title.
- 41:14An interim title is for a person to be the quote UN quote
- 41:18champion while the actual champion is laid off due to
- 41:21injury, suspension, whatever. And then they come back and
- 41:25fight the undisputed champion to declare who the real champion
- 41:28is. I mean, it's it's ridiculous to
- 41:29think about it. And for Tom Aspinall, it's such
- 41:32a shame because he was training, he was he was working hard, he
- 41:35was preparing for this moment and he was bigging up Serial
- 41:38gun, unlike most people, because most people just thought that
- 41:41Tom Aspinall was going to walk right through serial gun.
- 41:43And you know, the the first round it would, it did look
- 41:45pretty competitive. I thought that Tom Aspinall was
- 41:47still going to come away with the win.
- 41:49But serial gun looked like he was overwhelmed.
- 41:51He looked like he was caught. He was comfortable, he was
- 41:53confident in there. But like you said, the eye
- 41:56pokes, they were, you know, again, and I don't think serial
- 41:59gun is a dirty fighter, but they were, they looked pretty
- 42:01intentional to me. It looked like Tom Aspinall was
- 42:03constantly pressuring him and then even though Serial Gun did
- 42:06get a nice jab off and Tom Aspinal's nose and he did bloody
- 42:08him up a little, Tom Aspinal was constantly forcing the action,
- 42:12forcing pressure. So Serial Gun and if you look at
- 42:15the one, if you go back into the fight, I believe it's like the
- 42:17the second or third minute mark, Serial Gun stuffs Tom Aspinal's
- 42:22takedown, but you can see his fingers were already in his
- 42:24face. So he was already gearing up for
- 42:26an eye poke like you said, and then go and then the second one,
- 42:29which was horrible, just getting his whole hand up in his face
- 42:32and then gouging his fingers farther into his eye.
- 42:35Like it's it's really awful to watch and slow MO.
- 42:38Like I wouldn't recommend anyone to watch it.
- 42:39It's pretty bad. And like you said, I think that
- 42:42the doctors did say that Tom Aspinald, there were no serious
- 42:46injuries to his eye. But that is a scary thing to
- 42:49think about saying. He said, I can't see, you know,
- 42:51you have to think about your life going forward.
- 42:53I mean, like your vision is more important than your your your
- 42:57professional career. I mean, that would be awful if
- 42:59he was to retire. I mean, I know he doesn't have
- 43:01many more fights left on his contract.
- 43:03I believe he only has two or three fights.
- 43:04I think he has. Two that would be a helpful.
- 43:06Way for his career to end if it was just by an unintentional
- 43:09foul. But really a really awful,
- 43:12horrible ending it would be. And then I think there's even a
- 43:15clip of it going back. Like you said, there's been a
- 43:17problem with, you know, eye pokes.
- 43:19You're supposed to get disqualified.
- 43:20It shouldn't have been a no contest.
- 43:22The Jason Herzog, who was the the referee of that match and
- 43:25isn't Tom Aspinals YouTube page, he made a clip about this.
- 43:28He told them that, hey, generally dirty, you know, dirty
- 43:31plays, they work. It's like similar with baseball.
- 43:34If you ain't cheating, you ain't trying.
- 43:35I mean, as awful as that is to say, it's like you almost are
- 43:38incentivized to cheat a little because referees don't
- 43:41officiate. They they should have taken a
- 43:43point away from serial gun had the match up continued, I'm sure
- 43:45it would have been, but you know, it should have been ruled
- 43:48A disqualification, not a no contest.
- 43:50And I mean, that's that's the problem with the sport.
- 43:52It seems that the officiating is not strongly enforced enough.
- 43:56And maybe that's on Dana White who kind of gave 1/2 assed
- 44:00answer on the, you know, the post pre fight or post fight
- 44:03press conference where he said, I don't know, you know, they're
- 44:05going to happen. But I mean, if you would force
- 44:07the rules more, then you know, maybe it wouldn't incentivize
- 44:11fighters to fight safer and not to be as loose and breaking.
- 44:15I know Jason, I know him as a referee.
- 44:17He does a lot of amateur fights out here.
- 44:19He's he's a really straightforward guy.
- 44:22So I'm not going to blame Jason as far as what maybe he's told a
- 44:27certain things from Dana White or what he sees and what and,
- 44:31and not to call the fight. This is a heavyweight fight.
- 44:33This is the best fight on the card.
- 44:35Think about it. This was a really bad card.
- 44:38We're talking about preliminary knockouts because the regular
- 44:41card was bad. It was bad.
- 44:44We were, I was praising Dana White for the last two cards.
- 44:48I'm like, wow, these two cards were sensational.
- 44:50I, I, I, I can't wait to see what Dana is going to do at USC
- 44:54321. And then I'm looking at it, I'm
- 44:56like, this is a horrible card. And then, and I hate these day
- 44:59games because everybody's watching college football on
- 45:02Saturday. It's and nobody's interested in
- 45:05watching it. So it's not very watched.
- 45:07So I I guess that's why he didn't put so many great fights
- 45:10on the card, because he knows nobody's going to watch.
- 45:12Them they are really saving up for that Paramount, that first
- 45:15January card. So that probably has something
- 45:17to do with it. But like you said, like it's
- 45:18during the middle of the day, it's hard to get viewership.
- 45:20So I guess you don't want to sell out crazy for but like you
- 45:23said, it's a heavyweight fight. It's Tom Aspinals returned and
- 45:27just the way it was, it was supposed to carry that card.
- 45:30And I mean it's, it sucks. And that's the way it went.
- 45:32Now the whole Alex Pereira thing and John Jones, I would love to
- 45:36see that. I would love to see it.
- 45:39I know for a fact Jon Jones is going to back out of this fight.
- 45:43There is no way, obviously. I'm not as high on it.
- 45:46I'd rather see Aspinall versus Pereira or still Tom versus
- 45:50John. I mean, like, look, I get it
- 45:51would be a super fight, but I don't really understand what
- 45:55Pereira is talking about how he's saying, oh, Jon Jones,
- 45:57let's put on the greatest and Jon Jones as well.
- 45:59Let's put on the greatest showing of the sport in terms of
- 46:03of technique and ability. It is Pereira just like that
- 46:07confident. Like if you want to fight for
- 46:09the heavyweight title, you got to go beat Tom Aspinall first of
- 46:11all. So in fact, he thinks he's just
- 46:13going to walk through. I'm like that's a joke because
- 46:15Tom Aspinall, you know, he's AI believe he's a black belt in jiu
- 46:18jitsu and and Alex Pereira fan, fantastic kickboxer and he's
- 46:23amazing in his UFC career. Tom Esmel's not going to strike
- 46:26with Alex Breyer. He's going to take him down and
- 46:28wear him down, just like Izzy did in their first fight.
- 46:30Either is Jon Jones, Jon Jones just not going to stand up and
- 46:32fight with him. He's.
- 46:33Going to wait. You know, Pereira, I mean, as
- 46:36ballsy, I'll give him a credit to saying that he wants to take
- 46:38that challenge, but I don't think that fight's going to go
- 46:40as easy as he thinks it is. I mean, and I would still rather
- 46:42see Tom versus John, but you know, that ain't going to
- 46:45happen. But, you know, if we got Pereira
- 46:47versus Tom, I'd be interested to see that.
- 46:49Two active guys. Who are the two best guys in
- 46:51their divisions? You know why Jon Jones will
- 46:53fight somebody like Alex Pereira?
- 46:55Because he knows he can beat Pereira.
- 46:56He knows that if he takes Pereira down, he's going to
- 46:59dominate him. He knows he can't take Tom
- 47:01Aspinol down. He knows that Tom Aspinol is a
- 47:04black belt and he's strong. He's got great upper body
- 47:07strength and he can stand up and and, and and fight and box with
- 47:10you and kickbox with you. So that's why.
- 47:14A. 100% and he's and he punches heavier and he's much stronger I
- 47:19think than Alex Pereira is on the ground and and up top.
- 47:22So I think that's the problem right now.
- 47:24And you look at the factors of Alex Pereira and and Jon Jones
- 47:28and I think it's going to happen.
- 47:29I think they will fight Jon Jones unless Jon Jones backs out
- 47:33of this. He's the only reason why he
- 47:34would back out of this. You they're trying to put the
- 47:36biggest card the UFC has ever put together because it's going
- 47:40to be in front of the president. It's going to be at the White
- 47:42House. I know economy Conor, Conor
- 47:45McGregor came out and said that he would come back and he would
- 47:48fight only, only if he gets $100 million or some some ridiculous
- 47:54number. Now I'm hearing that he might
- 47:55fight Michael Chandler on that card.
- 47:57Always the plan to finish The Ultimate Fighter, but that's
- 47:59going to be a pricey card for Dana White.
- 48:01I mean, I keep hearing every single fighter pretty much say
- 48:03they want to fight on that card. And it's like, guys, first,
- 48:06we're not even there. We're not even through 2025 yet.
- 48:09I mean, like that's halfway through the year now.
- 48:11But I mean, yeah, Connor is. It's the problem though is you
- 48:14can't have two crazy big attraction fights like that
- 48:17because one of them is going to have to be the Co main event and
- 48:19their egos ain't going to be like Jon Jones.
- 48:21He ain't coming out of retirement to be a Co main event
- 48:23fight on the White House. And Conor McGregor as well.
- 48:25Like even though he's busy doing his TKO or he's like bare
- 48:31knuckle. Bare knuckle.
- 48:33He ain't going to come out to be the Co main event on the white
- 48:35like they're both going to be the main event or nothing.
- 48:38Like their egos ain't going to be able to handle that.
- 48:39So who knows from now. I mean, that's far away from
- 48:43still. It will be great, but you know,
- 48:44we'll see. All right.
- 48:45Well, so we have somebody that knows a little bit about the
- 48:49UFC. You could stay on Jake.
- 48:51We got Anthony Andriosi. Anthony, what's?
- 48:56Up buddy, what's going on buddy? No Speedy hit me up earlier and
- 49:01told me that you're going to talk about this whole high poke
- 49:03thing and all that stuff and everything like that.
- 49:05So you know I they got out of work and I'm like, you know,
- 49:08hopefully. But then you were still talking
- 49:10about, you know, Chelsea Billups betting on an eye poke in the
- 49:13main event of the fight and all that stuff and everything like
- 49:15that. So you know what I mean then.
- 49:17I figured I'd call it when I started.
- 49:18No, we're, we're speaking, we're speaking about the Tom Espinal
- 49:23eye poking and, and it reminded me of Mike Tyson, a Holyfield.
- 49:26If you think about it, it's, it's obviously Mike Tyson bit
- 49:30Holyfield's ear off twice until they called the fight and
- 49:34disqualified him. I was surprised.
- 49:36I was shocked that Tom Espinal, I mean gone, was not suspended
- 49:43or disqualified for that fight because once you poke.
- 49:49It happens. Listen, you know, the I poke
- 49:51stuff happens, everything like that.
- 49:53Do I think it was intentional? No, I don't think it was
- 49:55intentional because Don was, in my opinion, Don was looking
- 49:57better in that fight anyway. I don't think it was
- 50:01intentional. You know, things happen.
- 50:04You know, he's got a really good, I can tell you that right
- 50:05now. So if anybody wants to say, you
- 50:07know, that's why when people are booing and Aspinall and all
- 50:09that, if you see the replay, I mean, he was, you know, pretty
- 50:12much in the back of his skull with his fingers.
- 50:15So, but like I said, I don't think it was intentional or a
- 50:17thing. You know, crap happens.
- 50:19It it happens all the time, you know.
- 50:20Happens twice in the same round. It happens.
- 50:24I mean if anybody seen Jon Jones fights, it happens.
- 50:28Yeah, Jon Jones, you know, I mean, Jon Jones is, you know, is
- 50:32one of the greatest fighters of all time.
- 50:34And if he's doing it, it was. One of the biggest reasons why
- 50:36they started with that whole eye poke thing.
- 50:38Make sure you have your closed hands and all that stuff.
- 50:40You know, I mean, the unfortunate thing about this is
- 50:43now it's going to get dragged along for another six months and
- 50:46they're going to be a rematch when really probably nobody
- 50:49wanted to see a rematch anybody because nobody wanted to see
- 50:51this fight anyway. Everybody wanted to see Aspen
- 50:54Alan Jones. Nobody wanted to see Zero gone,
- 50:56you know what I mean? No, why?
- 50:58Because Zero gone got his, you know, ass handed to him by Jon
- 51:02Jones saying what, like a mini and all that stuff.
- 51:05So nobody really wanted to see this and in my opinion, 0 gone
- 51:08was not the guy to put up against Asheville anyway.
- 51:12You know, I don't really think he deserved it.
- 51:13I don't, I don't. Just like, you know, people can
- 51:16say what they want about Arsenal, people can say what
- 51:18they want about Jon Jones and all that stuff.
- 51:20I don't see Arsenal beating Jones.
- 51:22I don't. I don't because in my change,
- 51:25unfortunately, the heavyweight division in the UFC is pretty
- 51:30goddamn weak. It really is.
- 51:33That's why you see all these signings coming over from PFL
- 51:36and Legacy and all these other organizations because the
- 51:40heavyweight division is very weak.
- 51:42And unfortunately, in my opinion, Tom really has not been
- 51:47challenged. He's the champ.
- 51:49Don't get me wrong, he's the champ, but unfortunately he had
- 51:53to deal with what he was given and I don't think what he has
- 51:56given has really tested him to the levels that Jones and
- 52:01Cormier and Steep A in that division have been tested.
- 52:05Well, we know, I know, I know you have a low fest for steep A
- 52:10so I I really know so. Hey, listen, you know what I
- 52:13mean. The guy, the guy may lose, but
- 52:15then he comes back and Avengers his belts and stuff like that.
- 52:17People say what they want about Nagano, but last time I checked,
- 52:20you know, Nagano was just avenging a loss.
- 52:22It was 1 to one. Everybody wanted to see the
- 52:25rubber match, which never happened.
- 52:27But you know, what are you going to do?
- 52:28That's just what it is. Guys get older and you know,
- 52:34that's why I like the thing with Pereira.
- 52:35Pereira wants to go heavyweight. Why?
- 52:36Because Pereira is not a young guy.
- 52:39Pereira had a whole career and glory for a very long time
- 52:43before he even went to the UFC. He's a striker first, yes.
- 52:46So people say about black belt, this black belt, that black
- 52:49belt, unfortunately, yes, it shows skill.
- 52:53But in my opinion, it's over inflated at times because just
- 52:59like a lot of people have said, you know, these guys get black
- 53:02belts, but do they get black belts while they're getting
- 53:03punched in the face? No, they're not.
- 53:06It's two totally different things.
- 53:09Like I said, it's an achievement.
- 53:11Great, wonderful. Look, there's your applause.
- 53:13Wonderful, great. But how does it translate?
- 53:16Who the hell knows? Start punching somebody in the
- 53:18face while they're getting that black belt.
- 53:19When they get promoted, that's a different story.
- 53:21That's why Cesar Gracie and all those guys like Nick Diaz and
- 53:24you know, he's one of the few guys that gives black belts
- 53:28Gracie black belts. That is for guys that basically
- 53:32compete with no Gee, a lot of these other curriculums don't.
- 53:36They don't. And if, you know, things change
- 53:40and like I said, black belts, black belts, you know, as long
- 53:43as you pay for them, you're going to get your black belt
- 53:44eventually. That's just the way it goes.
- 53:49You know, you can get your black belt.
- 53:51You know what I mean? That's why you see all that
- 53:53stuff. You know, I'm surprised that
- 53:55when you go to a lot of, unfortunately, a lot of these
- 53:57jiu jitsu studios nowadays, it's not like it used to be.
- 54:00Nowadays you go and look at them and they're almost like a
- 54:02freaking dollar menu at Burger King, you know what I mean?
- 54:04You just, you know, they'll get you this in six months.
- 54:07That'll get you that for $400.00 you'll pay.
- 54:09That's $400.00 and all that stuff, you know what I mean?
- 54:12Don't guarantee you get your black belt in this, you know,
- 54:15you get a box set with the DVD, they send you a black belt for
- 54:18now. You know, I mean, so, I mean all
- 54:21that crap. I don't even want to freaking
- 54:22hear it, you know? And just like Pereira, Why is
- 54:25Pereira want to go in a heavyweight?
- 54:26He's not stupid. He's getting older.
- 54:28He can't make 2O5 anymore. He can't do it.
- 54:31He can't do it. And if they want to really
- 54:34stretch this whole Pereira thing, they wouldn't throw him
- 54:37in a heavyweight championship fight right off the bat.
- 54:39Champion versus champion is nothing.
- 54:41That's that's it really. He's not.
- 54:43He's not the more contender of heavyweight.
- 54:46He's not. Have him go through the course,
- 54:49stretch it out. Don't start destroying your
- 54:52company with these super fights, which unfortunately waters down
- 54:56all your talent pools because on as we've said millions of times,
- 54:59we've said on on the show back in the day and all, and
- 55:02everything they the UFC does not do a good job of personalizing
- 55:08and educating the fans of who these guys are.
- 55:10It's not, you know, it's not like what The Ultimate Fighter
- 55:13used to be back in the day when he has to have the UFC all
- 55:15access. When you see behind the scenes,
- 55:17you know, now you get the countdown.
- 55:18That's great, but the fight's already happening.
- 55:20It's not before, you know, create a little fanfare, educate
- 55:24the the viewers, which they don't do now because
- 55:26everything's pay-per-view and you got to pay 18 different
- 55:29subscriptions just to get the pregame.
- 55:31It's the stupidest damn thing I've ever seen in my entire
- 55:34life, you know? But that's why now the best bet
- 55:38that they could possibly do for that whole White House fight,
- 55:42whatever the hell they're doing and stuff like that.
- 55:44Because now things are going to get pushed back and pushed back
- 55:47and then somebody's done any injury and somebody's going to
- 55:50have an ass ache and somebody's going to be pissing blood and
- 55:53who got pregnant and all that stuff.
- 55:55Now Aspinall gone. Probably the rematch is going to
- 56:00happen at the White House. If the UFC is smart, they'll
- 56:04have John Jones go against Pereira on the same fight card
- 56:06and then the winners fight each other later on down the road in
- 56:09the garden. That would be your best way of
- 56:12expanding this whole thing with the viewership.
- 56:15You know, have a mini, have something small like that.
- 56:19You know we love you. I don't know.
- 56:22If they wait, I don't know if they'd wait that long, I think.
- 56:24Sorry I took up all the time there guys, but anyway, listen,
- 56:28you and us have a good night and I can't wait to see the comments
- 56:32of everybody thinking I'm smoking crack.
- 56:33I'm just basically smoking a double but I just got out of
- 56:36work. But anyway.
- 56:37We'll talk. I'll.
- 56:38Talk to you guys soon man. Thank you.
- 56:40I'll go on. Anthony Andreosi, Go ahead,
- 56:43Jake, what were you going to? Say, yeah, I don't know if
- 56:44they'd wait that long till the White House car for the
- 56:47agreement. I think they're probably going
- 56:48to try to shoot for March or April, depending on Tom
- 56:51Aspinall's injury status. And then like I was saying, he
- 56:54say, you know, probably do. It sucks for Alexander Volkov
- 56:57because that was probably who's going to be the next challenger.
- 56:59But now you got to push him on a layoff as well.
- 57:02But you know who we'll see what the whole Jon Jones, Alex
- 57:05Pereira thing. I mean, that would be that would
- 57:06be pretty cool if you had both of those fights go on and then
- 57:09see, you know, super fight for the championship.
- 57:12But I doubt it's going to happen.
- 57:14But you know, who knows? We'll see.
- 57:15It's not going to happen. I think Alex Pereira will fight
- 57:18Jon Jones if Jon Jones wants to fight.
- 57:20I don't think Jon Jones is coming out of retirement.
- 57:23I don't believe it until until otherwise.
- 57:26And remember, Jon Jones needs to train.
- 57:28He needs time. It's right around the corner.
- 57:31I mean, the White House is what, before, you know, during the
- 57:33summertime. So I think it's.
- 57:35Yeah, it's bids in June late. June.
- 57:37Yeah, it's right there around the summertime.
- 57:38There's no way he's going to have enough time to train for
- 57:41that fight. Jon Jones is not coming back,
- 57:43guys. I just.
- 57:44I can't see it. John Jones's brother just passed
- 57:48away. He's got family situations and
- 57:50issues right now. I just can't see him coming out
- 57:52of retirement and doing that. But that it's this is a great
- 57:56take. Thank you to Anthony Andrigosi
- 57:58for joining us and you, Jake, talking UFC.
- 58:01Every time we talk UFC, I want you to come on and give us your
- 58:04take because it's great. It really is.
- 58:06And, and again, I disagree with Anthony.
- 58:10God should have been absolutely disqualified after he poked him
- 58:16the first time. Second time, absolutely
- 58:19disqualified there. There shouldn't have been a
- 58:20draw. It shouldn't have been anything.
- 58:22Yeah, it should have. It should have been DQ.
- 58:24Not in no context. Absolutely, he should have been
- 58:27absolutely disqualified for that fight.
- 58:28He cheated, and there's no doubt he cheated in that fight.
- 58:31So, Jake, thank you for joining us, Bud.
- 58:34Yep, good seeing you all. Good seeing you boys.
- 58:36Absolutely. That's Jakey boy man, one of our
