  [SPEAKER_00]: So obviously, tough blow for him, a player, the Jaguar sign from the Falcons practice squad like the day before Christmas.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They liked what they had in Key Taylor so much that they pretty swiftly signed Key Taylor to a one-year deal following the 2025 season to keep him around for 2026.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Now, unfortunately, he had to injured reserve not sure what the injury is there, but I'm sure we'll be able to find out some more information on that in the coming days.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Keith Taylor, not a player that I had making the 53 man roster, and we were going to do a 53 man roster prediction this afternoon, and I have that on deck, but wanted to talk about this news first.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So I didn't have Keith Taylor in the Jaguars top six cornerbacks.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I had the Jaguars keeping six cornerbacks.

  [SPEAKER_00]: didn't think Taylor would end up in the top six.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I thought he would be right on the border, right on the edge of making the roster, the 53-man roster or not.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Now, unfortunately, he had standard reserve.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So he's, again, don't know this severity of the injury.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Don't know exactly what's gonna happen there, but I believe if you're placed on a standard reserve this early, I'm not sure that you can come back.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Stanks, because somebody who obviously made some headway with the coaching staff, they liked him, they brought him back after not having much time with him at all, and now injured reserve.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But I, that's the break sometimes in the NFL, unfortunately.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Now, the Jack Wars in order to replace Keith Taylor, signed Cornerback, Dame Jackson, who, I honestly didn't realize last year he really barely played.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not sure if he had injuries or what it was, but spent the first four years of his career in Buffalo and played a lot of football for them.

  [SPEAKER_00]: As a rookie, only at 193 snaps, but then 2021 as a second year player, six, 20, the next year, 2022, eight hundred, eight, hundred, eight, five, defensive snaps.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The next year, 578 defensive snaps, played with Carolina in 2024 as a part-time player and then last year didn't really play much at all, former seventh round pick by the bills,

  [SPEAKER_00]: A player who, I mean, I think early on in his career was considered someone that was like a key part of the bill's secondary.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He wasn't like one of their stars, but a guy who you were certainly aware of throughout his career and Buffalo, he played mostly outside corner and Carolina, they asked him to play more slot corner.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So to me, this feels like somebody they're bringing in to compete as bottom of the roster depth for right now at outside corner.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They've got guys that can play nickel, maybe he'll rotate and do some of that during, you know.

  [SPEAKER_00]: during OTAs in many camp, and if he makes it to training camp all that stuff, I wouldn't consider Dame Jackson, even though he is like a known name, someone who would be a lock by any stretch of the imagination for the roster, but somebody who has a lot of experience in the NFL playing outside corner in meaningful games.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And so, yeah, I think the Jaguars wanted to bring him, see what they could give him, or what he could give them.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, I think that there's some familiarity with the Jaguar's coaching staff and and Dan Jackson here with so many connections with Buffalo, Heath Farwell, etc.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And maybe this is somebody that Jaguar's field can contribute on special teams if he does make their roster.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, I mean, he has 327 special team Snapsor as career looks like he can be a potential like core for special teams type of guy.

  [SPEAKER_00]: If he does make their roster, which I would honestly probably list as a bit of a long shot at this point.

  [SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot of competition for the back end of the roster at the corner back spot.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Like I think you have five guys pretty well locked in right now with Travis Hunter.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Buster Brown, Jarian Jones, Jordan Lewis, Christian Braswell, and then competition for that six spot if there is a six spot, et cetera.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You don't know how the roster kind of churn and the roster make up will look year to year necessarily.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be based on, you know, what the Jaguars want to do from a personnel standpoint in 2026, how they feel the talent stacks up on the roster.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Dan Jackson coming in to compete as a you know experienced veteran player will be 30 in November and then you look at the other move south warmly the jackwars waved south warmly on May 7th they then brought him back claimed him on May 11th and now he has been waived again by the team

  [SPEAKER_00]: a little bit of a topsy-turvy whirlwind for him and replaced on the 90-man roster with Tristan Colone who I'm not going to talk a lot of y'all.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know every player in the NFL.

  [SPEAKER_00]: started his career in Baltimore in 2020, spent three seasons there, played with Arizona for a couple years, 2023, 2024.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The connection here is Jaguar's quarterback's coach, Spencer Whipple, was in Arizona with Kalon.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So I think that that's where you can clearly see like a link to this Jaguar's coaching staff,

  [SPEAKER_00]: Wipple wasn't like his direct position coach, but certainly would have worked with him at times and known him and yeah, I think that Wipple yes, still the quarterback's coach here.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He was I think the assistant quarterback's coach in Arizona.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He had six seasons with the Cardinals, past game specialist, 2023 to 2024.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And statistically, efficiency wise, pretty strong he has 1200 career reps,

  [SPEAKER_00]: at right guard, left guard, center, played all of them almost equally throughout his career as like a role player, a guy who would come in off the bench for you.

  [SPEAKER_00]: 96.9 past pro efficiency, numbers look pretty good overall in the run game as well.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's just somebody who has a lot more experience and, you know, seemingly,

  [SPEAKER_00]: decent tape compared to Sal Wormley with the Jaguars brought in as an undrafted free agent last year out of Penn State.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars are very deep on their offensive line.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They have Wyatt Milum, they have Emmanuel Pregnant, Jonah Monheim, Walker

  [SPEAKER_00]: there's a lot of competition for the Jaguars offensive line and I do think it's nice to see Tristan Colone coming in somebody who has a wealth of experience in the league and his worked with the Jaguars quarterbacks coach at least to some extent.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, probably not going to change a whole lot but you never know when injuries happen.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You could have something that ends up being more permanent, but as of right now, I think he's just competing for the bottom of the roster and I think it's probably a long shot.

  [SPEAKER_00]: When you talk about all the guys that Jaguar's have on their offensive line, but Stinks were Keith Taylor, hopefully he can recover as quickly as possible from whatever is yelling him against, still don't know what that injury is.
