- 0:06Daniel Moore: This week we're gonna do something a little different, and by different, we mean slightly risky because we're gonna hand the microphone to another married couple, and we told them not to overthink their answers.
- 0:19Daniel Moore: So, what could possibly go wrong?
- 0:22Daniel Moore: Well, this week, our friends Scottie and Vicky Albious are back with us, and this episode is all about fun, laughter, and those honest split-second reactions that reveal way more about marriage than a three-hour deep conversation ever could.
- 0:36Daniel Moore: From coffee versus dinner dates to who actually loses the keys, I mean, we already all know who does that.
- 0:42Daniel Moore: We're diving into the realities of everyday married life.
- 0:46Daniel Moore: The silly, the sweet, and the surprising spiritual.
- 0:49Daniel Moore: This week's episode is simple, fun conversations, faith woven in naturally, and encouragement that a Christ-centered marriage can be joyful, meaningful, and deeply grounding, even when one of you definitely didn't hear the other one the first time.
- 1:03Daniel Moore: Welcome to Marriage Life and More.

- 1:59Daniel Moore: Scottie and Vicki Albious are with us again.
- 2:02Daniel Moore: Hello, and we're gonna have some fun.
- 2:04Daniel Moore: So this week we're gonna do a little bit of marriage rapid fire and finish the sentence.
- 2:10Daniel Moore: We're gonna have some fun this week with our episode.
- 2:32Daniel Moore: Again, we have Scottie and Vicky Albious with us here once again.
- 2:36Daniel Moore: Hello.
- 2:36Daniel Moore: Thank you guys for hanging out for another week.
- 2:39Daniel Moore: We've had a couple awesome episodes with you guys, and this one's gonna be no exception.
- 2:44Daniel Moore: Uh, but this week we're gonna take a little bit of a different approach with our episode.
- 2:48Daniel Moore: A lot of times we're kind of serious about the stuff we talk about.
- 2:51Daniel Moore: We're gonna do a fun one this week because marriage can be fun, and we're gonna do that.
- 2:56Daniel Moore: So, what we're gonna do this week is we're gonna do some rapid fire and some finish the sentence, and we're gonna see how equally we are on what we think about some of these answers and see how different we are in different things.
- 3:10Daniel Moore: So, as we get started here, we've got a couple of icebreaker questions that we're gonna answer.
- 3:15Daniel Moore: Uh, the first one is how long have you guys been married?
- 3:18Daniel Moore: We're going on 12 years.
- 3:20Vicky Albious: We've been married six and a half in three days.
- 3:24Scottie Albious: Okay.
- 3:25Vicky Albious: No, no, eleven and a half.
- 3:26Vicky Albious: I was like, okay, she's totally lying.
- 3:28Vicky Albious: I was like, I'm out.
- 3:30Vicky Albious: No, I'm thinking six months.
- 3:32Vicky Albious: 11 and a half, yeah.
- 3:34Vicky Albious: In three days.
- 3:36Scottie Albious: She totally got me confused because I was believing.
- 3:38Scottie Albious: I was like, okay, I guess it has been six years.
- 3:39Scottie Albious: I don't know what to think right now.
- 3:41Vicky Albious: We have a 10-year-old.
- 3:43Scottie Albious: I was trying to do the math there, but it wasn't quite admitted.
- 3:45Scottie Albious: Yeah, mine wasn't working either.
- 3:47Scottie Albious: I was like, I just believe I just went with it.
- 3:48Scottie Albious: I was like, yeah, that's right.
- 3:50Michelle Moore: The confused look on your face.
- 3:52Scottie Albious: I know.
- 3:52Scottie Albious: I was like, am I wrong?
- 3:54Scottie Albious: Michelle?
- 3:55Michelle Moore: Almost 24 years.
- 3:57Daniel Moore: I think I agree with you.
- 4:00Daniel Moore: I love that.
- 4:00Daniel Moore: That's awesome.
- 4:01Daniel Moore: One word you'd use to describe your marriage right now.
- 4:06Vicky Albious: Busy.
- 4:07Vicky Albious: I feel like life is so busy.
- 4:10Vicky Albious: No.
- 4:10Vicky Albious: Yes, it is anchored, but anchored.
- 4:13Daniel Moore: That's good.
- 4:14Daniel Moore: How would you describe ours?
- 4:16Daniel Moore: Steamy.
- 4:17Daniel Moore: Oh.
- 4:19Scottie Albious: She's like Tabasco.
- 4:20Scottie Albious: So we're gonna go there, are we?
- 4:22Michelle Moore: We are.
- 4:24Scottie Albious: I say I say anchored because I think about how much we've gone through in life, and I'm not just saying us, everybody.
- 4:30Daniel Moore: Yeah.
- 4:30Scottie Albious: And I want to remember our marriage is anchored through rough there's no calm waters, expect the, you know, expect the rough waters.
- 4:38Scottie Albious: But even though through all that we're still stable.
- 4:41Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 4:41Scottie Albious: We you know, we've we've tried our best to uh influence stability, uh consistency, you know, in in those rough waters.
- 4:49Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 4:50Daniel Moore: That's really good.
- 4:51Daniel Moore: And I think, you know, Michelle and I, we can we're busy too and anchored.
- 4:56Daniel Moore: You're laughing because you're like steamy.
- 4:58Daniel Moore: We're steamy, I guess.
- 5:01Michelle Moore: I really have no word for that.
- 5:02Michelle Moore: I don't even know why.
- 5:04Daniel Moore: I mean, our shower shoots hot water, and it when I take a shower, it gets pretty steamy.
- 5:07Daniel Moore: Is that what you're talking about?
- 5:09Daniel Moore: Just make sure I clarify here where we're at.
- 5:11Daniel Moore: Uh it's definitely not steamy.
- 5:17Michelle Moore: I was just trying to get something out of you and you just sat there.
- 5:21Michelle Moore: You did the hot water heater.
- 5:22Michelle Moore: Well, whatever.
- 5:26Scottie Albious: Uh and those are differences in your guys' marriage.
- 5:28Scottie Albious: That's right.
- 5:29Michelle Moore: What one word would you describe our marriage?
- 5:32Daniel Moore: Oh.
- 5:32Daniel Moore: It's very busy.
- 5:33Daniel Moore: I will say I kind of agree with Vicky on that one.
- 5:36Daniel Moore: Uh but I like, I mean, Scottie's answer too.
- 5:38Daniel Moore: They're I think both of those definitely because I think we're in the best place we've ever been.
- 5:43Daniel Moore: Yeah.
- 5:43Daniel Moore: Yeah.
- 5:44Daniel Moore: In our marriage for sure.
- 5:45Daniel Moore: Right.
- 5:46Daniel Moore: And it just gets better every day.
- 5:47Daniel Moore: Yeah.
- 5:48Scottie Albious: So yeah.
- 5:48Scottie Albious: I think for you guys it'd be like light.
- 5:50Scottie Albious: That's how I see you guys, because you're you're such an influence on marriages because of what not one, what you're doing, but consistency, you know, in in bringing in uh resources, bringing in, you know, just people talking and things like that.
- 6:04Scottie Albious: So I definitely influenced I I look up to that.
- 6:06Scottie Albious: I admire that.
- 6:07Scottie Albious: Thank you.
- 6:08Scottie Albious: Thanks.
- 6:08Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 6:08Scottie Albious: I think it's cool.
- 6:10Scottie Albious: Uh I don't know how you guys do it all, but I think it's really cool.
- 6:12Scottie Albious: It's all God.
- 6:14Vicky Albious: Or I thought you meant like light, like No, they're a light, they're an influence.
- 6:18Vicky Albious: You know what I mean?
- 6:19Vicky Albious: And I was like, oh wait, no, he means like the light, like two other marriages.
- 6:23Scottie Albious: I think uh yeah, influence over other marriages, I think it's really cool, and I admire that.
- 6:27Scottie Albious: Well, thank you.
- 6:27Scottie Albious: Because you guys care.
- 6:28Daniel Moore: Yeah, it's uh definitely a God calling because it's not out of our own flesh that we could ever pull this off.
- 6:35Daniel Moore: I will say that, but God's blessed us.
- 6:37Daniel Moore: I will say that.
- 6:39Daniel Moore: Uh so we'll go into some rapid fire here.
- 6:42Daniel Moore: So Scottie and Vicky, coffee date or dinner date?
- 6:45Michelle Moore: Dinner date.
- 6:46Daniel Moore: Dinner date, Michelle.
- 6:48Michelle Moore: Coffee.
- 6:49Daniel Moore: You know, I'm torn because I do I like coffee dates, and but I like eating too.
- 6:55Vicky Albious: So our coffee date's always on the way to our dinner date.
- 6:58Vicky Albious: So I guess that's we gotta we can do both.
- 7:01Scottie Albious: Yeah, that's yeah, that's and when we were dating, that was our dates was coffee.
- 7:04Scottie Albious: We would just have coffee on the front porch and just sit and talk.
- 7:07Vicky Albious: Yeah.
- 7:08Daniel Moore: Yeah, that's it's a lot of fun.
- 7:10Daniel Moore: And you know, nowadays you've got the coffee shops you can just go sit.
- 7:13Daniel Moore: Uh-huh.
- 7:14Michelle Moore: I like our own coffee shop.
- 7:15Daniel Moore: Yeah, we've got one downstairs too.
- 7:17Michelle Moore: Literally on Saturdays.
- 7:18Michelle Moore: That's the first time.
- 7:19Michelle Moore: That's probably the best, I think.
- 7:20Michelle Moore: Yeah.
- 7:20Michelle Moore: We eat our breakfast and then we get a cup of coffee and we sit down and talk.
- 7:24Daniel Moore: I love that.
- 7:24Daniel Moore: Yeah.
- 7:24Daniel Moore: That's so cool.
- 7:25Daniel Moore: Texting or talking on the phone.
- 7:27Daniel Moore: Talking about.
- 7:29Michelle Moore: Yep.
- 7:30Michelle Moore: Texting.
- 7:31Scottie Albious: Texting.
- 7:32Michelle Moore: We ain't got time to talk.
- 7:34Scottie Albious: I know what she likes is when like throughout the day at work, I'll call just randomly, just hey, how you doing?
- 7:39Scottie Albious: How you feeling?
- 7:40Scottie Albious: Are you feeling better?
- 7:41Scottie Albious: And she likes the calls and text.
- 7:42Scottie Albious: Text, I can just be like, hey, what's up?
- 7:44Scottie Albious: You know.
- 7:45Scottie Albious: But I get to, you know, talk to her just for a brief moment throughout the day.
- 7:50Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 7:50Scottie Albious: Okay.
- 7:51Scottie Albious: Planner or go with the flow?
- 7:54Vicky Albious: I think we're a little above.
- 7:56Scottie Albious: Depends.
- 7:56Scottie Albious: I think if it's like like important stuff, like, you know, this, we want to plan it because we don't want to miss it.
- 8:03Scottie Albious: Other things that just, you know, just go with the flow.
- 8:07Michelle Moore: Yeah.
- 8:08Scottie Albious: How about you, Michelle?
- 8:10Michelle Moore: I used to be a planner, but now I think it's a little it's more go with the flow, but I'm a go with the flow.
- 8:16Michelle Moore: Uh it I've gotten planning takes a lot of work.
- 8:18Daniel Moore: It does.
- 8:19Scottie Albious: It's exhausting.
- 8:19Scottie Albious: And a lot of help.
- 8:21Michelle Moore: At least know what's going on.
- 8:23Scottie Albious: Right.
- 8:23Scottie Albious: But life happens, you're like, uh, we'll just schedule.
- 8:27Daniel Moore: Every time I think of an idea, I think that's stupid.
- 8:29Daniel Moore: I don't know.
- 8:29Daniel Moore: Why do you suggest that?
- 8:31Daniel Moore: So just like leave it to her.
- 8:34Daniel Moore: Clean house or quality time?
- 8:37Daniel Moore: Quality time.
- 8:38Vicky Albious: I'm gonna need some clean house too, though.
- 8:41Vicky Albious: I love quality time.
- 8:43Vicky Albious: But I want my house clean.
- 8:44Vicky Albious: Quality time.
- 8:46Daniel Moore: Yeah, probably a little both on that one.
- 8:48Daniel Moore: Yeah.
- 8:48Scottie Albious: Early bird or night owl.
- 8:50Vicky Albious: Night owl.
- 8:51Scottie Albious: Depends.
- 8:52Scottie Albious: Like I go to work early, so I've got to, but I do love my if I didn't have to work, I do love my late nights just watching TV.
- 8:58Scottie Albious: The kids are in bed.
- 8:59Scottie Albious: Me and her.
- 8:59Scottie Albious: I can give them a computer at the same time too, so it's like, you know, multitasking, just downtime.
- 9:04Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 9:05Scottie Albious: Night owl.
- 9:06Michelle Moore: I am neither.
- 9:07Michelle Moore: I do not, I am not an early riser, and I do not like staying up.
- 9:12Scottie Albious: Oh.
- 9:12Michelle Moore: My bedtime is usually 9 30, 10 o'clock, and I sleep in till about 7 38.
- 9:17Michelle Moore: I would like to sleep in till 7.38.
- 9:20Michelle Moore: Um, but I'm forced to get up to go to work after he tries waking me up about what, three or ten times.
- 9:26Michelle Moore: I am not a morning person at all.
- 9:30Daniel Moore: Yeah, I usually I get up at 5 30 Monday through Friday.
- 9:33Daniel Moore: Yeah.
- 9:33Daniel Moore: And then I can stay up late sometimes.
- 9:37Daniel Moore: Sometimes I get pretty tired, so and I'll fall asleep doing it.
- 9:39Daniel Moore: I don't mind being a night owl if I can stay up, but I'm not that so much as I used to be.
- 9:44Daniel Moore: But I definitely I do get up early every morning.
- 9:47Daniel Moore: That's when I do a lot of my studying and all that stuff.
- 9:50Daniel Moore: That's cool.
- 9:51Daniel Moore: Romantic gestures or practical help?
- 9:54Daniel Moore: Practical help.
- 9:56Daniel Moore: You like it when I help you.
- 9:59Vicky Albious: I do.
- 9:59Vicky Albious: But I would enjoy more romantic gestures as well.
- 10:04Daniel Moore: Yeah.
- 10:04Daniel Moore: This is a revealing moment.
- 10:06Daniel Moore: I know.
- 10:07Michelle Moore: Yes.
- 10:10Michelle Moore: Dr.
- 10:11Michelle Moore: Daniel.
- 10:11Daniel Moore: Dr.
- 10:12Daniel Moore: Daniel.
- 10:12Daniel Moore: Dr.
- 10:13Michelle Moore: Daniel.
- 10:14Daniel Moore: What about you guys?
- 10:15Daniel Moore: Uh it's steamy, so I guess it's romantic gestures is what I'm getting here.
- 10:22Daniel Moore: 24-7.
- 10:25Michelle Moore: That's right.
- 10:25Michelle Moore: I would have to go practical help.
- 10:28Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 10:29Michelle Moore: I like when he helps me if he's in the kitchen or just whatever.
- 10:33Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 10:34Michelle Moore: Although I have unmet expectations when I have that practical help.
- 10:38Michelle Moore: So I have to be careful because I'm like, oh, I need you to do this.
- 10:40Michelle Moore: And he, oh, wait, wait, I'm not doing that right.
- 10:43Daniel Moore: So it's my version.
- 10:44Daniel Moore: That's right.
- 10:45Daniel Moore: Music in the car or quiet drive?
- 10:50Vicky Albious: I need quiet.
- 10:51Scottie Albious: Quiet drives.
- 10:51Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 10:52Scottie Albious: She likes to sit and think, and I like to do it.
- 10:54Vicky Albious: I know it's weird because I'm a worship leader, but like I I that's where I do a lot of thinking and praying.
- 10:58Vicky Albious: And if I am listening to something, it's like distracting.
- 11:01Vicky Albious: Jensen Franklin, um, like I'll listen to their worship set and then him preaching, but it's not very like I need quiet.
- 11:10Vicky Albious: I don't know.
- 11:10Scottie Albious: And for me, I like to drive and think of like slogans or business ideas or logos or you know, business ventures and things like that.
- 11:18Scottie Albious: Where she's like, What are you thinking of?
- 11:19Scottie Albious: I could be thinking random thing.
- 11:20Scottie Albious: I'm like, I think we should open something up like this here, you know, because no one else has just random.
- 11:24Scottie Albious: Yes, all the time.
- 11:25Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 11:26Scottie Albious: The big dreamer.
- 11:27Daniel Moore: Yeah, definitely.
- 11:28Daniel Moore: Yeah.
- 11:29Michelle Moore: I'm definitely a quiet drive.
- 11:31Daniel Moore: The sound music in the car.
- 11:33Michelle Moore: It drives him nuts.
- 11:34Daniel Moore: I've got to have a driving and it'll be quiet, and he's over there turn your radio on.
- 11:39Michelle Moore: And I'm like, I don't really need the the radio.
- 11:42Michelle Moore: Yeah.
- 11:42Michelle Moore: Like, I need quiet, but he does, and I just let him do him.
- 11:46Vicky Albious: Our boys do.
- 11:47Vicky Albious: Our boys are, Mom, can we turn on our songs?
- 11:49Vicky Albious: I'm like, so I'll like turn it to the back of the car where I can like barely hear it.
- 11:54Daniel Moore: Fingernails on the skirt, chalkboard.
- 11:56Daniel Moore: Homebody night or out on the town.
- 11:59Daniel Moore: Out on the town.
- 12:00Vicky Albious: I'm a homebody.
- 12:01Vicky Albious: Oh.
- 12:01Vicky Albious: I can see that.
- 12:02Vicky Albious: But I'll I'll do a out on town once in a while, but I'm a homebody.
- 12:05Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 12:06Vicky Albious: Homebody.
- 12:07Scottie Albious: Early in our marriage, I had to learn to stay home because that's where she gets a lot of rest.
- 12:11Scottie Albious: I love being homebody.
- 12:13Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 12:15Vicky Albious: And I was like, I can't do this.
- 12:16Vicky Albious: Yeah, she likes to bring this down.
- 12:20Daniel Moore: Yeah, we're both homebody.
- 12:21Daniel Moore: I mean, we like to go out occasionally and do stuff and we go out with friends and stuff like that.
- 12:25Daniel Moore: But if there's none of that going on, we're just perfectly fine hanging out at the end.
- 12:29Daniel Moore: Yeah.
- 12:31Daniel Moore: So who's most likely to lose their keys?
- 12:34Vicky Albious: That's me.
- 12:35Vicky Albious: He always puts them on the hook.
- 12:37Vicky Albious: Agreement there.
- 12:38Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 12:38Scottie Albious: Because I'll say stuff like, Maybe where are the keys?
- 12:42Scottie Albious: She's like, Oh, they're my purse.
- 12:43Scottie Albious: I'm like, Oh, I couldn't find it because they're not on the hook.
- 12:45Scottie Albious: You know, things like that.
- 12:47Vicky Albious: But once in a while he'll have them in his pocket, but they're usually on the hook when he has them.
- 12:52Scottie Albious: What about you?
- 12:53Scottie Albious: He's like, Where are they now?
- 12:57Michelle Moore: I am horrible with my keys in my phone.
- 13:00Michelle Moore: Oh, really?
- 13:00Michelle Moore: I lose my phone, what, every day?
- 13:02Daniel Moore: Yeah.
- 13:03Michelle Moore: Do you not at least have your I do, but I don't I use it a multiple times.
- 13:06Michelle Moore: I take my watch off when I get home.
- 13:08Michelle Moore: Yeah.
- 13:09Michelle Moore: But I'll lose my phone.
- 13:12Daniel Moore: I've got her unfind my phone so that way I'm located every once in a while.
- 13:16Michelle Moore: I don't want to, I'm not.
- 13:17Michelle Moore: I mean, I'll be glued to my phone occasionally, but not I after I come home from work, I want nothing to do with it.
- 13:23Michelle Moore: And it's so funny because I literally, if my keys weren't stuck in my purse all the time, I'd lose my keys all the time.
- 13:30Michelle Moore: I literally would.
- 13:32Daniel Moore: Yeah.
- 13:32Daniel Moore: Yep.
- 13:34Daniel Moore: So let me make sure they stay in her purse.
- 13:36Michelle Moore: Yeah.
- 13:36Daniel Moore: Pretty much.
- 13:37Daniel Moore: Who's more emotional?
- 13:38Vicky Albious: Oh, you know, that's probably me.
- 13:41Scottie Albious: Yes, definitely her.
- 13:42Scottie Albious: I'm trying to be better at it because I want to, you know, learn how to resist.
- 13:47Daniel Moore: You know what's funny though is I see emotion in both of you.
- 13:49Michelle Moore: Yeah, oh yeah.
- 13:50Michelle Moore: Actually, that's what I was gonna read.
- 13:51Daniel Moore: You're you're way more emotional than I am, and I think it's pretty awesome because I I it's not that's not a trait that I mean I yeah, it's not a trait that I have necessarily.
- 14:02Daniel Moore: I can't even say that I have a little bit of it because I don't.
- 14:05Daniel Moore: I mean it it takes quite a bit for me to get real emotional.
- 14:08Daniel Moore: I mean I I uh I feel very deeply about things.
- 14:14Daniel Moore: Yeah but to show I guess to show the uh the emotions inside, but to show it, yeah, um, that's not usually a personality trait for me.
- 14:22Michelle Moore: He's Scottie's grown in that.
- 14:23Michelle Moore: Oh my god.
- 14:23Michelle Moore: I would definitely say that.
- 14:24Michelle Moore: I just want to do it.
- 14:27Scottie Albious: It was used to be like, no, that's dumb.
- 14:29Scottie Albious: That's you know, yeah, you know, but now it's like I don't care, you know.
- 14:33Scottie Albious: I'll show my emotions.
- 14:34Scottie Albious: She loves it.
- 14:35Vicky Albious: I do.
- 14:36Scottie Albious: So it shows vulnerability.
- 14:37Scottie Albious: It shows how it really means something to you, you know.
- 14:40Scottie Albious: Right.
- 14:41Scottie Albious: I can see that side of it.
- 14:42Scottie Albious: And that's why I said, you know, when it comes to vulnerability, it's not weakness, it's wisdom.
- 14:45Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 14:46Scottie Albious: You know, she wants to see that, she wants to hear it.
- 14:48Scottie Albious: So anyway.
- 14:48Scottie Albious: Michelle.
- 14:50Scottie Albious: Very emotional.
- 14:52Michelle Moore: Who's more emotional?
- 14:53Michelle Moore: I probably I don't think I'm as emotional as what I used to be.
- 15:00Michelle Moore: And I would say that you do have some emotional parts to you because I've watched you cry at church.
- 15:07Scottie Albious: Yeah, that's a good one.
- 15:09Michelle Moore: Because we'll be praise and worshiping, and I'll see tears.
- 15:13Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 15:14Michelle Moore: And when people are talking about testimonies and stuff like that, I see tears.
- 15:19Daniel Moore: That stuff gets me.
- 15:20Daniel Moore: That's good.
- 15:20Daniel Moore: That's awesome.
- 15:21Michelle Moore: I know there's emotion in there.
- 15:23Michelle Moore: Yeah.
- 15:24Daniel Moore: That's awesome.
- 15:25Daniel Moore: Because our church, they'll do videos of testimonies and stuff.
- 15:29Daniel Moore: Oh, they talk to them and they man, some of them things just but even a church we used to go to that you know, you guys that we went to before, uh Teen Challenge guys, they would come over there.
- 15:40Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 15:41Daniel Moore: Man, listen to some of them guys with their testimonies and stuff.
- 15:43Daniel Moore: It just breaks you.
- 15:44Daniel Moore: I mean, it's like, man, they went through a lot, you know.
- 15:47Daniel Moore: Right.
- 15:48Daniel Moore: And some of them just they do, they really get to you.
- 15:51Michelle Moore: And you cried when our granddaughter was born, Sarah.
- 15:53Michelle Moore: Oh yeah.
- 15:54Daniel Moore: That's awesome.
- 15:55Daniel Moore: Yeah.
- 15:56Daniel Moore: That's cool, man.
- 15:57Daniel Moore: Motions.
- 15:58Daniel Moore: I do have one little emotional bone in my body.
- 16:00Michelle Moore: You do?
- 16:01Daniel Moore: Nice.
- 16:02Vicky Albious: You do.
- 16:03Daniel Moore: Who apologizes first?
- 16:04Daniel Moore: Me.
- 16:05Vicky Albious: Uh no.
- 16:06Vicky Albious: She's like, nope.
- 16:09Vicky Albious: Not happening.
- 16:11Scottie Albious: It takes me a minute because I want to process and I want to I want when I used to used to be me.
- 16:16Scottie Albious: I'm sorry.
- 16:17Scottie Albious: Okay, let's move on.
- 16:18Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 16:18Scottie Albious: When I say I'm sorry now, I want to mean it and I want to process it.
- 16:21Scottie Albious: And this is why I meant I'm sorry.
- 16:23Vicky Albious: Yeah.
- 16:23Vicky Albious: It's harder for me to say sorry now first, because he this is where he throws in the joking stuff, and he'll be like, it's okay, I'm used to it.
- 16:31Vicky Albious: And I'm like, shut up.
- 16:33Vicky Albious: Like, never mind, I'm not sorry.
- 16:37Scottie Albious: I forgot about it because I'm way past that.
- 16:39Scottie Albious: So she's like, that happened the other day.
- 16:43Scottie Albious: Oh my god.
- 16:45Scottie Albious: That's funny.
- 16:47Daniel Moore: About uh I would say both of us.
- 16:49Michelle Moore: Yeah.
- 16:50Michelle Moore: I mean, in all reality, I mean, we don't neither one of us really when we apologize, we just, oh, we're sorry and move on.
- 16:58Michelle Moore: Yeah.
- 16:58Michelle Moore: Yeah, we do much I would say we're equal in that part.
- 17:01Daniel Moore: Yeah, we do much better at taking ownership of stuff that we do.
- 17:05Daniel Moore: That's it's very that's a very good trait to have in a marriage to be able to apologize.
- 17:09Daniel Moore: That that makes uh the the marriage go a little smoother.
- 17:12Daniel Moore: Yeah, you know.
- 17:13Daniel Moore: Right.
- 17:14Daniel Moore: So uh let's see here.
- 17:16Daniel Moore: Who's more who's more spontaneous?
- 17:19Daniel Moore: Me.
- 17:20Daniel Moore: You?
- 17:20Daniel Moore: I always want to do crazy things.
- 17:22Vicky Albious: Yeah, for sure.
- 17:24Daniel Moore: Just random.
- 17:25Daniel Moore: Oh yeah.
- 17:26Daniel Moore: Yeah.
- 17:27Vicky Albious: It'd be me.
- 17:28Daniel Moore: Yeah, Michelle's more spontaneous.
- 17:30Vicky Albious: Well, like he'll he'll do it with restaurants too.
- 17:32Vicky Albious: And I'm like, okay.
- 17:34Vicky Albious: And then I get there, I'm like, what do I order?
- 17:36Vicky Albious: You know.
- 17:37Vicky Albious: Oh, that's true.
- 17:38Scottie Albious: Because like when we go to a restaurant, any restaurant, she's like, What are you getting?
- 17:41Scottie Albious: I was like, I don't know.
- 17:42Scottie Albious: I've never down a three.
- 17:43Scottie Albious: When they get here, I'll pick last second.
- 17:44Vicky Albious: He does it every time.
- 17:46Vicky Albious: Whereas I'm like, this is what I'm getting.
- 17:48Vicky Albious: Same.
- 17:49Vicky Albious: Yep.
- 17:50Scottie Albious: And she's like, uh, we've never had that before.
- 17:52Scottie Albious: I was like, that's the whole fun part.
- 17:54Scottie Albious: We're never we don't know what we're getting.
- 17:56Vicky Albious: I'm I'm like searching the menu on our way there.
- 17:58Vicky Albious: Because I'm like, okay, what does it have in it?
- 18:01Scottie Albious: I like to ask, what's good here?
- 18:02Scottie Albious: You know, surprise me.
- 18:03Scottie Albious: Do you want this?
- 18:04Scottie Albious: I don't know.
- 18:05Michelle Moore: Who was it that Jake said about that?
- 18:06Michelle Moore: He goes, Do you really think they're gonna be honest with you?
- 18:09Michelle Moore: Yeah, because they work there, they don't like any of their food.
- 18:11Michelle Moore: He's like, they're gonna tell you what they don't like.
- 18:14Michelle Moore: And I'm like, I never really thought of it about that before.
- 18:17Michelle Moore: I'm like, because I do.
- 18:18Michelle Moore: I'll ask them, what do you like?
- 18:20Michelle Moore: And you know, some of them will be like, Well, I've never tried this, and it's like, is it because it's horrible or is it, you know?
- 18:27Scottie Albious: Well, if I if I narrow down a two, I'd be like, So if you had to pick between these two, which one and why?
- 18:32Scottie Albious: And they'll they'll tell me why or something.
- 18:34Scottie Albious: I was like, okay, let's roll with it, you know.
- 18:36Daniel Moore: Let's try it.
- 18:36Daniel Moore: Yeah, and I'm I'm spontaneous with trying new things because we'll go to new uh like at restaurants.
- 18:44Daniel Moore: Yeah, um, I like to go to out of the ordinary restaurants that we typically don't get to go to and try something on the menu I've never had.
- 18:52Daniel Moore: Yeah, I I do like enjoy doing that because you never know if you ever get that opportunity again.
- 18:57Michelle Moore: Hey, I tried to I tried to get on a bike trail with my bike.
- 19:00Daniel Moore: And look what happened.
- 19:01Daniel Moore: Oh that I was spontaneous.
- 19:04Michelle Moore: I'm like, let's go for the off-road on the side.
- 19:06Scottie Albious: I had to call 911.
- 19:07Scottie Albious: It was very bad.
- 19:10Scottie Albious: That's a funny story though.
- 19:12Michelle Moore: Yeah.
- 19:12Michelle Moore: Who takes longer to get ready?
- 19:15Michelle Moore: Oh, that'd be me.
- 19:16Michelle Moore: Hey, I have longer hair.
- 19:18Vicky Albious: I have like four times the hair you know is just getting there.
- 19:21Scottie Albious: No, I don't know.
- 19:22Scottie Albious: That's a little much.
- 19:24Scottie Albious: It's easy just to put a hat on.
- 19:27Vicky Albious: Well, uh all for for church, you just like throw stuff in there and it goes all curly cute.
- 19:31Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 19:32Scottie Albious: Curly cute.
- 19:33Scottie Albious: Curly many cute.
- 19:37Daniel Moore: Yeah.
- 19:37Daniel Moore: Oh, this is natural.
- 19:40Daniel Moore: Oh, that's funny.
- 19:42Daniel Moore: How about you, Michelle?
- 19:45Michelle Moore: Oh, we know who takes longer to get ready because I always make you late.
- 19:50Daniel Moore: So that answers that question.
- 19:52Michelle Moore: There's no bitterness than that.
- 19:56Daniel Moore: Uh worship music or sermon podcast.
- 20:00Scottie Albious: 100% podcast for me.
- 20:01Scottie Albious: Think about it.
- 20:02Scottie Albious: I love to hear different perspectives, to learn podcasts, even if it's I'm not a big podcaster.
- 20:11Vicky Albious: I love worship, but like I love sermons more than pod.
- 20:14Vicky Albious: You know what I mean?
- 20:15Vicky Albious: Like they're a difference there a little bit.
- 20:17Daniel Moore: Yeah.
- 20:17Vicky Albious: Like Jensen Franklin all day.
- 20:19Vicky Albious: Give it to me.
- 20:20Daniel Moore: Yeah.
- 20:20Michelle Moore: I'm worship music all the way.
- 20:22Daniel Moore: And I'm okay.
- 20:22Daniel Moore: And I'm definitely sermon podcast.
- 20:24Daniel Moore: For sure.
- 20:26Michelle Moore: Yep.
- 20:26Daniel Moore: My my phone's literally connected to my radio, and every time I get in it, it's going right on my podcast right to the next one.
- 20:32Scottie Albious: It's all week long.
- 20:33Daniel Moore: And then I do the repeat all the way around again of all the new episodes.
- 20:38Daniel Moore: Uh, what about encouragement or accountability?
- 20:42Daniel Moore: I think for me, encouragement.
- 20:47Scottie Albious: Because I like to encourage He's the encourager.
- 20:50Vicky Albious: And I'm what was the other one?
- 20:51Scottie Albious: Accountability.
- 20:52Scottie Albious: Yeah, you're the accountability.
- 20:53Vicky Albious: I am.
- 20:54Scottie Albious: You didn't do this like you said you would.
- 20:55Scottie Albious: No, I'm kidding.
- 20:57Scottie Albious: She's yeah, she's no, I'm like, she was like, honor what you said, or you're a man of your word.
- 21:03Scottie Albious: So and I appreciate that, you know.
- 21:05Scottie Albious: It's not like she's you know lording over me, but she's keeping me accountable.
- 21:09Scottie Albious: I'm like, okay, yeah, you're right.
- 21:10Scottie Albious: If I said I'm gonna do it, I'm gonna do it.
- 21:11Daniel Moore: Yeah, that's good.
- 21:12Daniel Moore: What about you, Michelle?
- 21:14Michelle Moore: Encouragement.
- 21:14Scottie Albious: Yeah, yeah.
- 21:15Scottie Albious: You're good at encouragement.
- 21:16Scottie Albious: I see you encourage Dan, myself, even Vicky, and you do a really good job.
- 21:20Scottie Albious: Vicki's always in tears.
- 21:21Scottie Albious: I'm like, okay, Michelle, you did your job.
- 21:23Scottie Albious: You did a great job.
- 21:25Daniel Moore: I think I'm probably encouragement.
- 21:27Daniel Moore: Yeah.
- 21:27Daniel Moore: Probably.
- 21:28Daniel Moore: Don't you think?
- 21:29Michelle Moore: Yeah.
- 21:30Daniel Moore: Yeah.
- 21:30Michelle Moore: I would agree a hundred percent.
- 21:31Michelle Moore: Yeah.
- 21:32Scottie Albious: I think you're a little both, both though.
- 21:33Scottie Albious: Could be.
- 21:34Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 21:34Scottie Albious: I've seen you hold people accountable.
- 21:36Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 21:36Scottie Albious: We used to teach young adults.
- 21:38Scottie Albious: I remember you.
- 21:38Scottie Albious: Done that a time or two.
- 21:40Scottie Albious: And you had sons back in the day, so you know, yeah.
- 21:42Scottie Albious: Young kids under the roof.
- 21:43Scottie Albious: So the memories are coming back.
- 21:45Scottie Albious: Yeah, I remember that.
- 21:47Michelle Moore: His eyes are twitching over because he has no more he's rubbing his head with no hair up there.
- 21:53Daniel Moore: The stress level's rising under my chair here.
- 21:57Daniel Moore: Oh, that's awesome.
- 21:58Scottie Albious: Uh Bible stuff.
- 21:59Scottie Albious: I love Bible study.
- 22:02Scottie Albious: Because I love to study with like-minded believers and get perspective.
- 22:06Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 22:06Scottie Albious: And get to understand someone's idea.
- 22:09Scottie Albious: A little both.
- 22:10Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 22:11Daniel Moore: About you, Michelle.
- 22:12Scottie Albious: I love my devotional time.
- 22:13Scottie Albious: Devotional.
- 22:15Daniel Moore: I'm a Bible study guy.
- 22:16Daniel Moore: Yeah.
- 22:17Scottie Albious: I love my devotional time.
- 22:18Daniel Moore: Yeah.
- 22:19Daniel Moore: That's good.
- 22:19Daniel Moore: I've I tried try devotionals and stuff, but I just never really seem to stick with them.
- 22:24Daniel Moore: For some reason, I just I don't know.
- 22:26Daniel Moore: I did it for a little bit, and then it seems like all of a sudden like, well, I didn't do that for the whole last week.
- 22:30Scottie Albious: Well, I feel like devotionals are awesome, but it's like, okay, I learned that.
- 22:33Scottie Albious: Now I need to share that.
- 22:34Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 22:35Scottie Albious: You know what I mean?
- 22:35Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 22:36Vicky Albious: To me, I've gotten more into like reading books.
- 22:39Vicky Albious: You know, like um I did a lot of that fasting book and then our holy spirit by drama fear.
- 22:45Vicky Albious: And like, I don't know.
- 22:46Vicky Albious: And so it's kind of a mix of like, because you get into the word, but yet it's a I don't know.
- 22:51Scottie Albious: She also teaches really good from the books, too.
- 22:53Scottie Albious: So thanks.
- 22:55Scottie Albious: Aww.
- 22:57Daniel Moore: Yeah, that's I I'm kind of more of a Bible study and book reader, that kind of thing at this point in my life.
- 23:03Daniel Moore: What about quiet prayer or out loud prayer?
- 23:06Vicky Albious: I'm an out loud prayer.
- 23:08Scottie Albious: I like quiet.
- 23:10Scottie Albious: I I think because I think of a lot of my long times, and I'll give you an example.
- 23:14Scottie Albious: There is a friend of mine that when he comes home from work and he's stressed, he doesn't want to give the family the leftovers.
- 23:22Scottie Albious: So on the way from home work, he spends time with the Lord.
- 23:26Scottie Albious: So same thing.
- 23:27Scottie Albious: On the way from home from work, it's me and him, and I'm like, help me, Lord, help me, Holy Spirit, guide me.
- 23:32Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 23:32Scottie Albious: And I try my best, you know, to not show the leftovers that my kids are getting, my wife's getting, but try to bring, you know, a husband as a father.
- 23:41Daniel Moore: Yeah.
- 23:42Scottie Albious: Michelle?
- 23:43Scottie Albious: Michelle?
- 23:44Michelle Moore: I'm a quiet prayer.
- 23:45Michelle Moore: Yeah.
- 23:46Daniel Moore: I'm probably more that also.
- 23:49Daniel Moore: I do some out loud prayer also.
- 23:51Daniel Moore: I think out loud's needed.
- 23:53Daniel Moore: A little mixture.
- 23:54Daniel Moore: Oh, I would agree.
- 23:55Daniel Moore: I do, but during the day, you know, I pray a lot throughout the day, and you know, a lot of that's quiet prayer.
- 24:01Scottie Albious: And I think I like the quiet because you get to hear back.
- 24:03Scottie Albious: Mm-hmm.
- 24:04Scottie Albious: When, you know, but if I'm praying out loud, I hear, you know, it's more of like declarations.
- 24:10Scottie Albious: God, I'm praying over my family, my wife, my marriage, our finances.
- 24:13Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 24:13Scottie Albious: You know, and I'm I'm thinking all these in my head and just praying over or with praying with somebody over their life.
- 24:18Scottie Albious: But when I'm that quiet one-on-one, like, God, I want to hear you.
- 24:21Scottie Albious: Help me.
- 24:21Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 24:22Scottie Albious: That's good.
- 24:36Daniel Moore: So we'll skip to finish the sentence here.
- 24:39Daniel Moore: So marriage taught me that love is finish that sentence.
- 24:46Scottie Albious: Christ-like.
- 24:47Scottie Albious: Christ-like.
- 24:48Scottie Albious: That's good.
- 24:49Scottie Albious: I have to be because I fall have to follow him.
- 24:51Scottie Albious: Show me, teach me.
- 24:53Scottie Albious: Holy Spirit, help me.
- 24:54Scottie Albious: That's good.
- 24:55Scottie Albious: Thanks.
- 24:57Vicky Albious: Can it be more than one word?
- 24:59Vicky Albious: I know.
- 24:59Vicky Albious: I'm like trying to think of one word.
- 25:01Vicky Albious: Marriage has taught me that love is awesome.
- 25:05Vicky Albious: A little tough.
- 25:07Vicky Albious: And definitely needs Jesus at the center to make it work.
- 25:11Scottie Albious: And I say Christ-like too because of what I've received.
- 25:13Scottie Albious: She showed me a lot of compassion over the times I've been me, you know?
- 25:17Scottie Albious: I'm like, wow, thanks, dear.
- 25:19Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 25:20Scottie Albious: And grace.
- 25:21Scottie Albious: What about you, Michelle?
- 25:23Michelle Moore: Actually, he just said mine.
- 25:24Michelle Moore: Mary just taught me that love is a lot of, I mean, you have to be have a lot of grace.
- 25:29Michelle Moore: And you do have to be Christ-like.
- 25:31Michelle Moore: Oh, and we apologize.
- 25:33Michelle Moore: That was my dog yawning.
- 25:34Michelle Moore: That was Jose.
- 25:37Michelle Moore: Yeah.
- 25:37Michelle Moore: The one that snores.
- 25:41Daniel Moore: What about you?
- 25:42Daniel Moore: Mary just taught me that love is unconditional too.
- 25:48Daniel Moore: I think.
- 25:48Daniel Moore: Yeah.
- 25:50Michelle Moore: That's very unconditional.
- 25:52Daniel Moore: Looking at Michelle through Christ's eyes and you know, letting God just showing me her through him.
- 25:58Daniel Moore: Uh, I think I look at our our marriage and the love that we have because of everything that we've been through.
- 26:04Daniel Moore: Right.
- 26:04Daniel Moore: I look at it as a testimony.
- 26:06Daniel Moore: Oh yeah.
- 26:07Daniel Moore: Uh because you know, we're where we are because God brought us to this point.
- 26:11Daniel Moore: It was not by our own power, but some of the stuff that we've been through.
- 26:15Daniel Moore: And so I, you know, I've learned some tough lessons for sure.
- 26:21Daniel Moore: And I'm thankful that God's brought me down that path.
- 26:24Scottie Albious: It's so cool though, because you guys use those testimonies as key to help heal others, you know.
- 26:30Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 26:31Daniel Moore: Well, God doesn't waste our our pain and I don't think we should either.
- 26:36Daniel Moore: I just I kinda I really look at it that way.
- 26:39Daniel Moore: What's the hardest thing that you guys have learned together?
- 26:47Scottie Albious: Go ahead.
- 26:48Vicky Albious: No, go ahead.
- 26:49Scottie Albious: Listen.
- 26:50Vicky Albious: To listen.
- 26:52Scottie Albious: And to be vulnerable.
- 26:53Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 26:54Scottie Albious: To share my heart and feelings when I don't want to.
- 26:57Scottie Albious: That's probably my hardest struggles.
- 26:59Daniel Moore: Yeah.
- 27:00Vicky Albious: I'd say kind of to give the grace and you know, with some of the tough things.
- 27:06Vicky Albious: Especially I'd say earlier in, you know, oh, just stop being so quick to you meant this or you did that, you know, and be like, okay, there's a reason.
- 27:17Vicky Albious: Like, let's chill out on that.
- 27:18Vicky Albious: Like, you know.
- 27:19Daniel Moore: Yeah.
- 27:20Daniel Moore: That's a big one.
- 27:23Michelle Moore: Um the hardest thing that we've learned together is um I would have to say communication.
- 27:33Daniel Moore: Yeah.
- 27:34Michelle Moore: And um forgiveness.
- 27:38Daniel Moore: Yeah.
- 27:38Daniel Moore: Yeah.
- 27:39Michelle Moore: That it requires ahead of one all the time.
- 27:41Daniel Moore: That's huge.
- 27:42Daniel Moore: Yeah.
- 27:42Daniel Moore: I think one of mine is forgiveness as well, but another one is to my pride.
- 27:48Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 27:48Daniel Moore: Getting rid of the the pride that I have because when I came into our marriage, there was definitely a lot of pride there.
- 27:56Daniel Moore: And because I was not willing to humble myself like I should have, uh, it drug us to a spot where we didn't really need to be.
- 28:04Daniel Moore: And so God's shown me throughout our marriage with the different things that's happened in the restoration process that we've gone through, how important it is to make sure that that pride does not become an idol in my life.
- 28:16Scottie Albious: Well, I think even for us, as we're walking with you guys and watching you and watching you guys forgive each other, I was like, that is powerful.
- 28:23Scottie Albious: Wow.
- 28:24Scottie Albious: You know?
- 28:24Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 28:25Scottie Albious: Really cool.
- 28:26Daniel Moore: That's why, you know, a lot of times when we work with our couples that we work with and stuff, and the ones that we, you know, that come up to us to talk to us about things, it's like there's really not a whole lot that you can do to each other that would cause you not to ever want to forgive.
- 28:40Daniel Moore: Like Michelle and I've been through some things that, you know, both of us had every right in the world to never forgive each other.
- 28:47Daniel Moore: Right.
- 28:47Daniel Moore: But God grew that forgiveness inside of us.
- 28:51Scottie Albious: So thankful for the world.
- 28:52Daniel Moore: Yeah, and we were able to do that.
- 28:53Daniel Moore: So we can you can forgive anybody uh with the help of God.
- 28:57Daniel Moore: You can forgive anybody for anything.
- 28:59Scottie Albious: But it's so powerful because people watching you guys are like, ow, you know, the Lord.
- 29:04Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 29:05Daniel Moore: It's only God, that's for sure.
- 29:08Vicky Albious: I feel most loved when you sit down and communicate when we just sit and talk about stuff, anything.
- 29:20Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 29:20Scottie Albious: Oh, I was gonna say scratch my feet, but that was a video.
- 29:25Vicky Albious: Hey, it's okay.
- 29:26Scottie Albious: No, I feel most loved when we're one-on-one and we get to watch like l recently, like I've been trying to watch whatever she wants to watch, murder mysteries.
- 29:37Scottie Albious: And I feel loved because she wants to share that with me.
- 29:40Scottie Albious: Yeah, you know what I mean?
- 29:42Scottie Albious: And it could be Sports Center, it could be a football game, but it's not.
- 29:45Scottie Albious: And I know she would give that up any minute just to watch a game with me.
- 29:48Scottie Albious: But because you know, we're just two by ourselves watching a show late at night, yeah.
- 29:53Scottie Albious: Just us two.
- 29:54Scottie Albious: So it's good.
- 29:56Scottie Albious: Michelle.
- 29:57Michelle Moore: I feel most loved when you give me intentional time.
- 30:01Michelle Moore: I love our intentional time that we get.
- 30:04Daniel Moore: Yeah.
- 30:05Daniel Moore: And I think for my side of it, the fact that you want to spend time with me, uh, because I think that the biggest betrayal in a marriage is when a spouse tries to do anything they can to not be at home or to not be around their spouse, to not do things together.
- 30:23Daniel Moore: Michelle and I literally, with our relationship that we have, there's not anything that we ever do that we would want to do apart.
- 30:30Daniel Moore: That's good.
- 30:31Daniel Moore: Now we we have things we do with our friends occasionally, just separate, you know, but it doesn't happen very often.
- 30:37Daniel Moore: Uh we would actually just prefer to anything we do, whether if it's going out with another couple or going somewhere, sitting in the living room, whatever it is, we want to do that together.
- 30:46Daniel Moore: Right.
- 30:46Daniel Moore: And I know her having that interest, I think uh that really lets me know how she feels about me.
- 30:53Daniel Moore: I love that.
- 30:54Daniel Moore: So uh one habit of yours that I've learned to love.
- 31:00Vicky Albious: Ooh, his rice habit.
- 31:03Vicky Albious: He eats rice with everything.
- 31:05Vicky Albious: No, it used to when we first got married, I was like, oh my gosh, why so much rice all the time?
- 31:10Vicky Albious: Rice.
- 31:11Vicky Albious: That's all I can think of.
- 31:15Scottie Albious: One thing that I've loved about you, um almost like what you said, like um, I love it when she like I've learned to love like it was weird for me because like she would dote on me, like, you know, rub my my back or my arms or you know, and things like that.
- 31:32Scottie Albious: I thought it was weird.
- 31:32Scottie Albious: Remember that?
- 31:33Scottie Albious: And you're like, you're not used to having anybody dote on you.
- 31:35Scottie Albious: I was like, no, not really.
- 31:36Scottie Albious: And and like now it's like, you know, because at first when we were dating, she's like, I'm gonna rub your hand.
- 31:41Scottie Albious: I was like, what?
- 31:41Scottie Albious: That's so weird.
- 31:42Scottie Albious: And I'd pass out in like five minutes.
- 31:44Vicky Albious: No, it wouldn't ru oh yeah.
- 31:45Vicky Albious: Like, so now it's like because I used to do that in hair school.
- 31:48Scottie Albious: Well, I like did hand massage, yeah.
- 31:51Vicky Albious: Yeah.
- 31:51Scottie Albious: But yeah, that's one thing I've loved about her is that she just she's always willing to dote and willing to serve.
- 31:58Vicky Albious: Is that a habit though?
- 31:59Vicky Albious: Well, I guess.
- 32:00Vicky Albious: Oh yeah.
- 32:02Daniel Moore: I mean, yeah, one one yeah.
- 32:05Daniel Moore: I mean it could be.
- 32:06Michelle Moore: Yeah.
- 32:08Daniel Moore: Uh what about you, Michelle?
- 32:11Michelle Moore: Um don't laugh at this one.
- 32:14Michelle Moore: One habit of yours I learned to love is you're always right.
- 32:18Daniel Moore: Oh like literally or think of him.
- 32:30Michelle Moore: No, seriously, most of the time he is a very deep thinker.
- 32:35Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 32:35Michelle Moore: And so literally most of the time, he's a it and it's a habit, like he literally he'll say something, and I'm like, hmm.
- 32:43Michelle Moore: And then it's like comes to fruition or something.
- 32:46Michelle Moore: And or I just it's a habit that I'm like, you're not always right.
- 32:52Michelle Moore: You know, at the beginning I was just like, no.
- 32:54Scottie Albious: But now it's like he comes in and he'll say stuff, and it's like, oh well, you know, that white personality, you guys are full of wisdom, you know.
- 33:05Scottie Albious: And I've seen that with other white personality people too.
- 33:07Scottie Albious: Her dad was one of them.
- 33:08Scottie Albious: But it's like when you guys say stuff, it's like steep and it means something.
- 33:12Scottie Albious: You know what I mean?
- 33:13Scottie Albious: It's like, okay, hold on, shh, you know, they're saying something.
- 33:15Scottie Albious: You've always done that, even like when we all used to teach young adults together, it's always been really cool.
- 33:20Scottie Albious: I'm like, man, how'd you see that?
- 33:22Scottie Albious: That's awesome.
- 33:23Daniel Moore: Yeah.
- 33:23Daniel Moore: It and I I don't think I'm doing that when I'm, you know, doing it.
- 33:28Daniel Moore: Oh, right, right.
- 33:28Daniel Moore: But whenever I I do have to, I do process things, and I've always been that way.
- 33:36Daniel Moore: And I it I think whenever I'm able to do, I can't make just real quick decisions as well.
- 33:42Daniel Moore: I can do it if I have to and I'm put on the spot, but I would prefer to have some time to think about it so that I can think through the whole thing and then okay, this is really the way this needs to go and come back with that answer.
- 33:55Michelle Moore: But I will say your habit, you know when you meet someone else just like you that you have to take a step back and let them be right.
- 34:06Daniel Moore: Okay.
- 34:07Michelle Moore: Am I right?
- 34:08Daniel Moore: Yeah.
- 34:08Daniel Moore: I agree.
- 34:10Michelle Moore: Because you know there's not gonna be you want the final say, and if it's just gonna get into a so your habit is you do recognize that you're always right until you meet someone with the same personality.
- 34:26Daniel Moore: Because I have an escalating personality, if we get in a conflict, I know that if I'm gonna get into conflict, if that person's like me, yeah, I know better than to get into that conflict in the first place because it's not gonna end well.
- 34:38Scottie Albious: See, that's where he's he's wise, you know what I mean?
- 34:40Michelle Moore: Yeah, I no, he's he's learned it.
- 34:42Michelle Moore: I know.
- 34:42Daniel Moore: Yeah, I'm I'm very well aware of yeah.
- 34:45Scottie Albious: What about your habit for Michelle?
- 34:47Daniel Moore: Uh probably just her getting up late.
- 34:51Daniel Moore: You know, it's about the only habit I can think of.
- 34:58Scottie Albious: Oh, geez.
- 35:00Michelle Moore: It really is bad.
- 35:01Michelle Moore: I I and you know, I didn't used to be that way until I had all my surgeries.
- 35:05Michelle Moore: And it's like literally.
- 35:07Daniel Moore: You know, I saw a movie one time where a prince went in and kissed the princess and she woke up.
- 35:12Daniel Moore: And I try that, but it doesn't work.
- 35:16Daniel Moore: You know, three or four times, and it's like she'll roll over and say something, and I'll go back in the bathroom to finish getting ready, and she'll go back, she's and they're down to sleep again.
- 35:25Daniel Moore: I'm like, it worked in the movies.
- 35:27Daniel Moore: Like, what's the deal?
- 35:31Scottie Albious: Uh gives me a little bit more time to love on her again.
- 35:33Scottie Albious: I love it because Mickey's such a light sleeper.
- 35:35Scottie Albious: Like before I leave to work, I'll like grab her arm or her feet or something.
- 35:38Scottie Albious: I'm like, you'll she'll jump up like I'm attacking her.
- 35:42Vicky Albious: He'll know when I'm like dead, dead, because he'll rub my feet and don't move.
- 35:47Vicky Albious: Oh, normally that'll kind of like wake me up a little bit.
- 35:50Scottie Albious: All right, she's out.
- 35:51Scottie Albious: Yep.
- 35:52Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 35:53Scottie Albious: Catch up on that later.
- 35:54Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 35:55Vicky Albious: But I'm up to like two in the morning a lot of time.
- 35:57Vicky Albious: Like, I'm such a night owl.
- 35:59Scottie Albious: Well, you've got that downtime too, because you're with the boys all day.
- 36:02Scottie Albious: All day long.
- 36:03Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 36:03Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 36:04Scottie Albious: So I would need that too.
- 36:06Daniel Moore: So one last question.
- 36:07Daniel Moore: Oh, here we go.
- 36:08Daniel Moore: One thing we'll probably always disagree on.
- 36:12Michelle Moore: Wow.
- 36:14Vicky Albious: How to build things.
- 36:15Vicky Albious: His way is always right no matter what.
- 36:20Vicky Albious: We can't like it's hard to do stuff.
- 36:22Daniel Moore: Like furniture in a box and stuff like that.
- 36:24Daniel Moore: Or just yeah.
- 36:27Vicky Albious: Anything.
- 36:28Vicky Albious: It's very that you know, it's crazy because I used to build stuff with my dad all the time or help him on the car or this or that.
- 36:34Vicky Albious: Like that is just one area that I've learned to back up and let him do his thing.
- 36:39Vicky Albious: Yeah.
- 36:40Vicky Albious: You know, and and that's something that to this day I like all get upset about sometimes.
- 36:45Vicky Albious: And I'm like, why can't we just work together in this?
- 36:48Vicky Albious: But it's just one of those things you learn, like, no, I've got a lot of how much space and you do your thing.
- 36:53Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 36:53Scottie Albious: Well, and there's that 50-50.
- 36:54Scottie Albious: I've got to learn how to work with somebody too.
- 36:57Scottie Albious: I, you know, uh I I I can't always be a control freak, you know, at work and things like that.
- 37:02Scottie Albious: Even with my family, you know, my wife, I've got to be like, okay, you know, well, I've I've got to figure out how to work.
- 37:08Scottie Albious: So I I appreciate her telling me that, you know.
- 37:10Daniel Moore: Yeah.
- 37:11Scottie Albious: Um, one thing I would always disagree with you on is uh I still think cheddar's is always overrated.
- 37:16Scottie Albious: So she's always like, let's go to cheddar.
- 37:20Scottie Albious: Broccoli cheese casserole, though.
- 37:22Scottie Albious: But there's Indian food.
- 37:25Scottie Albious: It's at the gas station.
- 37:26Scottie Albious: I'm telling you, that's always really good.
- 37:27Scottie Albious: I've heard that.
- 37:28Scottie Albious: I'm telling you.
- 37:29Scottie Albious: I haven't tried it yet.
- 37:30Michelle Moore: Yeah, the keys over here.
- 37:34Daniel Moore: Well, Michelle and I are probably gonna be 100% disag in an agreement on this one.
- 37:38Daniel Moore: Oh.
- 37:39Michelle Moore: You go first.
- 37:41Daniel Moore: The kids.
- 37:42Michelle Moore: Actually, that's what I was gonna say.
- 37:43Michelle Moore: That's the only thing we disagree on.
- 37:47Scottie Albious: Wow.
- 37:48Scottie Albious: Has that been like younger into your earlier marriage, has that always been like a thing, like a bad thing?
- 37:55Scottie Albious: You know what I mean?
- 37:56Scottie Albious: Or do you guys cope with that in a healthy way?
- 37:58Scottie Albious: Like, okay, I disagree with you.
- 38:00Scottie Albious: Let's figure out you know what I'm saying.
- 38:01Michelle Moore: Back then, we did not, yeah, it was not healthy.
- 38:04Daniel Moore: I grew up with very strict environment.
- 38:08Daniel Moore: And I've carried that into our relationship, not realizing that was not a good thing to do.
- 38:16Daniel Moore: And so I then tried to push my agenda so we would clash because her being the mother and you know, the the more emotional part of the relationship.
- 38:25Daniel Moore: Say more compassionate, compassionate, not emotional.
- 38:28Daniel Moore: I guess compassionate is a better word.
- 38:30Daniel Moore: Yeah.
- 38:30Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 38:31Daniel Moore: Uh it just didn't jive very well.
- 38:33Daniel Moore: Right, right.
- 38:34Daniel Moore: Because I'm just like, it's black or white.
- 38:37Daniel Moore: You know, you do this, you're getting this for it, and that's the end of the story, because I'm the dad and you're the kid, and that's just the way it's gonna be, because that's how I grew up.
- 38:44Scottie Albious: Right.
- 38:44Daniel Moore: And so we did, we struggled with that all through them growing up.
- 38:49Daniel Moore: And then even now, as they're older, we we do much better now because uh there are times that we still clash, but I will back off quicker than what I used to would back off.
- 39:04Michelle Moore: And that comes down from generally helping our children.
- 39:07Daniel Moore: Yeah, yeah.
- 39:08Michelle Moore: Like it's it's more um not necessarily um we're gonna disagree on if I wanna do something for them.
- 39:17Scottie Albious: Sure.
- 39:18Michelle Moore: You know, if I wanna give them money or if I wanna like, you know, just different things like that.
- 39:24Michelle Moore: Um or babysit or whatever.
- 39:26Michelle Moore: But I mean, we don't really and we do it healthy.
- 39:29Michelle Moore: I mean, I don't do anything without asking him first.
- 39:32Scottie Albious: Oh, sure.
- 39:33Scottie Albious: All right.
- 39:33Michelle Moore: And if he's like, I don't know, I wait until he is ready.
- 39:38Michelle Moore: And if he disagrees, I still am gonna do it.
- 39:41Michelle Moore: I just give him the option.
- 39:43Michelle Moore: I'm just kidding, huh?
- 39:44Daniel Moore: That's very that's very true.
- 39:47Michelle Moore: Not all the time.
- 39:48Michelle Moore: Not all time.
- 39:49Michelle Moore: My ticket is supposed to be bought and it's not bought.
- 39:51Michelle Moore: I'm not going next weekend.
- 39:53Daniel Moore: So yeah, it's that's something that I've had to grow in a lot.
- 39:59Daniel Moore: But I think we do handle it much better.
- 40:01Daniel Moore: Absolutely.
- 40:02Scottie Albious: Uh it's just that's a hard thing to break because I asked these questions because we're behind you.
- 40:08Scottie Albious: And you remember we were dealing with our blending family, and your guys' kids were teenagers, and we weren't there yet, and we're like, how are you guys doing this?
- 40:15Scottie Albious: Because, you know, we're learning, you know, we're trying to figure this out as well.
- 40:19Scottie Albious: And you know, when it comes to disagreement, are we gonna disagree on the kids?
- 40:21Scottie Albious: Is she gonna be more nurturing?
- 40:22Scottie Albious: We're all gonna be black and white, like, nope, don't help them.
- 40:24Vicky Albious: That's on that's honestly been a space that I've had to pray a lot about because we discipline a lot different.
- 40:30Vicky Albious: And I found where I would be so frustrated with the kids or one of them, you know, whatever.
- 40:37Vicky Albious: And um I got to where I wouldn't tell him the full, you know, because and we talked about this probably a good three, four years ago of like I told him I was like, I feel like I can't tell you because then you overreact and he'll just like, you know, it's too much.
- 40:56Vicky Albious: And I'm like, I need you to rein that in and like calm, you know, and um yeah, and saga.
- 41:04Scottie Albious: I think because last episode we were talking about unmet expectations in a spouse.
- 41:07Scottie Albious: Same thing with the kids.
- 41:08Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 41:09Scottie Albious: We expect them to be you're gonna be like this, you're gonna be good, you're not gonna talk, you're not gonna say crazy things, you know.
- 41:15Scottie Albious: If you do, you're gonna be in trouble.
- 41:16Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 41:17Scottie Albious: Where in my mind I'm thinking, that's the line.
- 41:19Scottie Albious: There's no, yeah, there's no second chances.
- 41:21Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 41:22Scottie Albious: That was him.
- 41:22Scottie Albious: You just blew it, that's it.
- 41:23Scottie Albious: Get out, you go to your room.
- 41:25Vicky Albious: And it's like there there has to be this balance, you know.
- 41:28Vicky Albious: And I felt I got to a place where, and I had to tell him this.
- 41:31Vicky Albious: I'm like, I feel alone parenting our kids because I'm home with them, you know, and I, you know, I discipline them, but I need your backing without overdoing it.
- 41:42Vicky Albious: And and I was like, I it's making me feel alone in this because I can't tell it's too much.
- 41:48Michelle Moore: You you go too much.
- 41:51Scottie Albious: Yeah, that'd be another episode.
- 41:53Scottie Albious: Yeah, it would.
- 41:54Michelle Moore: Well, I mean, if you really think about it, I mean, he wouldn't have known that had you not communicate.
- 41:59Scottie Albious: Well, after she said that, that's when I started praying after work.
- 42:03Scottie Albious: God, help me be the dad and the and the husband that I need to be.
- 42:06Scottie Albious: Don't let my family see the leftovers.
- 42:08Scottie Albious: I'm tired, but give me the strength.
- 42:10Michelle Moore: Yeah, yeah.
- 42:11Michelle Moore: And I mean, Dan's went back and apologized to our children.
- 42:14Michelle Moore: Yeah.
- 42:14Michelle Moore: Like, you know, because you know, he he's recognized it.
- 42:19Michelle Moore: Oh, I have too.
- 42:20Scottie Albious: We have to as parents.
- 42:21Michelle Moore: There is times when we're doing a podcast, the Holy Spirit would be like, You did that to your children.
- 42:26Michelle Moore: And it's like, oh man.
- 42:27Michelle Moore: And I'll text, I'll text Brooke, and I'm like, I'm so sorry.
- 42:30Michelle Moore: She's like, You've already apologized for that.
- 42:32Michelle Moore: And I'm like, No, I need to apologize again.
- 42:34Michelle Moore: And she's like, There's no need, that's already in the past.
- 42:37Michelle Moore: I'm like, but it's healing for me because you know, the Holy Spirit put it on me.
- 42:41Michelle Moore: But I mean, that's the way I mean to see him apologize to her adult boys and you know, Nim, it it meant so much to me.
- 42:49Michelle Moore: Right, right, you know, and I know I had to heal his heart too, because when you're not parenting in a godly way, yeah, those relationships are gonna be strained.
- 43:00Scottie Albious: Yeah, yeah, especially blended.
- 43:02Michelle Moore: Yeah.
- 43:03Michelle Moore: Because they can go to one side and do whatever they want, and then they come home and get disciplined.
- 43:09Michelle Moore: Yeah.
- 43:10Scottie Albious: Right.
- 43:11Michelle Moore: It's it's gonna be that way.
- 43:12Scottie Albious: I read a thing a while back, and this is why I gotta remember too.
- 43:15Scottie Albious: As our kids are growing, so is our parenthood.
- 43:17Scottie Albious: Yes.
- 43:18Scottie Albious: We don't know how to parent that's right, 100% perfect.
- 43:21Scottie Albious: We're figuring this out as our kids are growing too.
- 43:23Michelle Moore: Absolutely.
- 43:24Scottie Albious: Yeah, it's always a learning process.
- 43:26Michelle Moore: Well, we always say we told our kids there was no manual.
- 43:28Michelle Moore: Right.
- 43:29Michelle Moore: I mean, you do have the word of God, but it's different context, too.
- 43:33Michelle Moore: I mean, you know, you have to go to the Lord and you know, pray about some things.
- 43:38Michelle Moore: But I mean, I know there was times that he was super frustrated.
- 43:41Michelle Moore: And I mean, Jeremiah, I love him to death, but I mean, that boy kind of like Titus, you know, it's like, would you listen for the love?
- 43:50Michelle Moore: And it's like everything was like 10 times worse than what it had to be because that's the way he just did everything.
- 43:58Scottie Albious: Yeah, and I can see it.
- 44:00Vicky Albious: Frustration, but as a mother, you're more nurturing, and it's like, you know, okay, you know, and I think I've always heard like God has put these things in your child, and it's learning how to guide them instead of like break it out of them or whatever.
- 44:14Vicky Albious: You know, it's like okay, they're gonna grow up to be a really strong leader.
- 44:18Vicky Albious: How do I help this instead of be like, stop acting like that, you know, like yeah, stuff?
- 44:25Daniel Moore: Yeah, the personalities that they have God gave it to them.
- 44:28Daniel Moore: I think as parents, you know, God gives us the grace and the the tools to try to navigate that with the child to uh so that they can show those personality traits that they have to the best that they can, but in a good way.
- 44:45Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 44:45Daniel Moore: And it's up to us to try to help them navigate through all of that.
- 44:48Daniel Moore: And sometimes that's difficult.
- 44:51Vicky Albious: Yeah.
- 44:52Scottie Albious: But God's there to help us.
- 44:53Scottie Albious: That's right.
- 44:53Scottie Albious: And you know what I caught myself too when we're talking about communication with your kids?
- 44:56Scottie Albious: You know, we can talk about our spouse, but our kids Israel and I get along because we talk about sports.
- 45:01Scottie Albious: Titus wants to talk about Spider-Man and Zelda.
- 45:04Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 45:07Vicky Albious: Or just off the wall stuff for Jeremiah.
- 45:09Vicky Albious: He just goes on.
- 45:11Scottie Albious: I've had to learn what he loves.
- 45:13Scottie Albious: I'll be like, hey buddy, tell me about more about Spider-Man.
- 45:16Scottie Albious: Okay, this one time this to beat this level, and I'm like, okay, okay.
- 45:20Scottie Albious: But he enjoys that.
- 45:21Scottie Albious: Does that make sense?
- 45:21Scottie Albious: So I'd rather him learn how to communicate me with me now when he's eight for when he's in his thirties.
- 45:26Scottie Albious: That's right.
- 45:27Scottie Albious: And it'll come to me instead of be like, Dad's not gonna listen to me, he don't care.
- 45:30Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 45:31Daniel Moore: So yeah, and it is harder when they get older.
- 45:34Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 45:34Daniel Moore: Um, a lot of times, I think, because they become an adult and if they carry that stuff into adulthood, yeah.
- 45:40Daniel Moore: Uh it's a lot harder to break that at that point because that resentment and stuff has been there for so long, they have no respect for you as a parent, I think, in a lot of cases, and so we have to try to earn that back.
- 45:51Daniel Moore: Yeah.
- 45:52Daniel Moore: And it makes it very difficult.
- 45:54Scottie Albious: Yeah.
- 45:54Daniel Moore: So that's good.
- 45:55Daniel Moore: Yeah, this episode went all over the place.
- 45:57Daniel Moore: That was fun though.
- 46:03Michelle Moore: Dr.
- 46:03Michelle Moore: Dan didn't do very well.
- 46:05Michelle Moore: I tried.
- 46:07Michelle Moore: We'll see how many stars we get out of this one.
- 46:09Michelle Moore: That was that was the slowest rapid fire.
- 46:12Scottie Albious: We had conversations.
- 46:15Daniel Moore: Oh, that was fun though.
- 46:17Daniel Moore: Yeah, I think you know, the whole purpose of this episode this week was, you know, we give you all a challenge that are listening.
- 46:24Daniel Moore: Uh, if you haven't sat down in a while and just had some fun with your spouse, uh, this is a good way that you can do that.
- 46:30Daniel Moore: Just come up with some rapid fires and finish the question, uh, you know, questions, finish them and just just have fun with it.
- 46:38Daniel Moore: And uh a lot of you might even learn something about your spouse that you didn't even know.
- 46:43Michelle Moore: Like being late, making them always late.
- 46:45Daniel Moore: That's right.
- 46:46Michelle Moore: Not better.
- 46:47Michelle Moore: Uh no, no, not at all.
- 46:50Daniel Moore: Uh but yeah, this is this has been a lot of fun.
- 46:53Daniel Moore: Uh Scottie and Vicky, thank you guys so much for being here again.
- 46:58Daniel Moore: Of course, we'll we'll get we'll do it again eventually.
- 47:00Daniel Moore: Oh, yeah.
- 47:01Daniel Moore: Uh, we love having you guys on here.
- 47:03Daniel Moore: It's always a blast.
- 47:04Daniel Moore: And so uh we're gonna go ahead and call it a wrap on this one for this week.
- 47:09Daniel Moore: Uh next week, Lord willing, we will probably be starting our new series, and we're planning on going through my book, Marriage is a Mission, is what we're gonna start into.
- 47:20Daniel Moore: So we're gonna try to get that started next week.
- 47:22Daniel Moore: So we're gonna go ahead and call it for this week, though.
- 47:25Daniel Moore: Um, as we wrap up today, our hope is that this episode reminded you that marriage doesn't have to be complicated to be meaningful.
- 47:31Daniel Moore: Sometimes the simplest moments, the quick answers, the laughter, the honest words, they're the ones that strengthen our connection the most.
- 47:38Daniel Moore: Marriage is built in the everyday choices like choosing grace, choosing joy, choosing to keep learning one another.
- 47:45Daniel Moore: And when we invite God into these moments, even the fun and playful ones, he uses them to deepen our love and our unity.
- 47:53Daniel Moore: So this week, we encourage you all to take a few of these questions, maybe, that we've gone through today.
- 47:58Daniel Moore: Sit down with your spouse and just enjoy each other.
- 48:00Daniel Moore: Laugh together, listen well, and thank God for the journey that you're on right where you are.
- 48:06Daniel Moore: Well, as we go this week, we pray that your marriage is stronger and your walk with God is closer.
- 48:10Daniel Moore: After this episode, this is an extension of Connecting to Gap Ministries, and we pray that you have a blessed week.
