- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, guys, it's Andrea and and you're listening to Inhuman Okay,
- 0:05Speaker 1: So I'm just going to dive right into this case.
- 0:07Speaker 1: Hopefully it's not a super long one, but I have, like,
- 0:10Speaker 1: I don't know, eight pages of notes double space. Don't worry.
- 0:16Speaker 1: But much like your case that we covered on Monday,
- 0:20Speaker 1: this case hits a little close to home for me because,
- 0:24Speaker 1: as some of you may know but most of you
- 0:26Speaker 1: probably don't, I lived in Northern Virginia for over ten
- 0:31Speaker 1: years and I actually remember this case in the news
- 0:35Speaker 1: because it did happen in the next town over from
- 0:39Speaker 1: where I lived at the time. Wow, But I didn't like,
- 0:43Speaker 1: I like heard about it in passing and then I
- 0:46Speaker 1: didn't really like dive into it or like do a
- 0:48Speaker 1: lot do a lot of research at that time. But
- 0:52Speaker 1: I am covering the missing person's case of Caitlin Aikins.
- 0:58Speaker 1: I can't like picture this.
- 1:01Speaker 2: I don't know if I've heard it before, so I'm
- 1:02Speaker 2: excited to get all the details.
- 1:04Speaker 1: You probably have if you've listened to all of the
- 1:06Speaker 1: Crime Junkie episodes, because they actually did cover it, I
- 1:11Speaker 1: don't know, like a couple of years ago, that's where
- 1:13Speaker 1: I heard like more of the details on it, and right,
- 1:17Speaker 1: it's like one of those cases that keeps me up
- 1:20Speaker 1: at night, Like honestly, right, you know, there's a lot
- 1:23Speaker 1: of cases that keep me up at night, but this
- 1:24Speaker 1: one is definitely like top five that I need closure on. Okay,
- 1:28Speaker 1: and it, unfortunately is still an open case.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Yeah, okay. I mean honestly, even if I've heard it
- 1:36Speaker 2: on Crime Junkie, I probably don't remember it. Yeah, So
- 1:40Speaker 2: I'm excited for refresher and to hear to hear all
- 1:43Speaker 2: about it.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Yeah, Okay. So if you are somebody know has any
- 1:47Speaker 1: details on what happened to Caitlin, please do not hesitate
- 1:51Speaker 1: to call or contact the Spotsylvania Crime Solvers. Their number
- 1:56Speaker 1: is one eight hundred nine to eight five eight to too,
- 2:01Speaker 1: or you can go to their website Spotsylvania Crime Spotsylvania
- 2:06Speaker 1: Crimesolvers dot org and I'll make sure to link all
- 2:11Speaker 1: of that in the show notes as well, so you
- 2:12Speaker 1: can find that if you decide to.
- 2:15Speaker 2: Yeah, awesome.
- 2:16Speaker 1: Yeah. Nineteen year old Caitlin Aikens was from Fredericksburg, Virginia,
- 2:21Speaker 1: which I used to live there, and she had recently
- 2:26Speaker 1: been living in Arizona with her fiance. Caitlin was set
- 2:31Speaker 1: to start cosmetology school, which was she was super excited about,
- 2:35Speaker 1: and she had flown home to visit family and also
- 2:38Speaker 1: grab her birth certificate and her diploma while she was there,
- 2:43Speaker 1: which she needed to start school. While she was there,
- 2:47Speaker 1: of course, she visited with her mom, her sister and
- 2:50Speaker 1: her sister's new baby, and her stepdad, who was no
- 2:54Speaker 1: longer married to her mom, but they were still really
- 2:57Speaker 1: close and he was the only real fo the figure
- 3:00Speaker 1: that Caitlyn had had in her life. Caitlyn had moved
- 3:05Speaker 1: to Arizona to be with her girlfriend now fiance, Amber,
- 3:08Speaker 1: and the two of them actually grew up together in
- 3:11Speaker 1: Virginia and then Amber had moved to Arizona and the
- 3:15Speaker 1: two of them kept in touch over the years and
- 3:18Speaker 1: their friendship blossomed into something more. Aw Yeah, so when
- 3:24Speaker 1: Caitlyn was eighteen, she decided to take their relationship to
- 3:27Speaker 1: the next level and she began dating Amber, eventually moving
- 3:32Speaker 1: to Arizona to be with her, which like, wow, good
- 3:35Speaker 1: for her, I guess, because that's a long move.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a big move.
- 3:40Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a huge move, especially at eighteen, Like.
- 3:45Speaker 2: Right, that's not just like moving in with someone. That's
- 3:47Speaker 2: like you're committed if you're moving across the country exactly. So,
- 3:53Speaker 2: Caitlyn had a wonderful relationship with her mom and her sister.
- 3:57Speaker 1: They were all very close. Lynn's mom recounts how Caitlyn
- 4:01Speaker 1: would often call her several times a day just to chat,
- 4:05Speaker 1: which is like funny because that's how my mom is
- 4:08Speaker 1: with me. But like I don't like to talk on
- 4:09Speaker 1: the phone, so like, can we just text?
- 4:13Speaker 2: I feel that.
- 4:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:14Speaker 2: I when I was in college, I called my mom
- 4:17Speaker 2: at least once a day and I was always talking
- 4:20Speaker 2: to her. But now like we almost never talk on
- 4:22Speaker 2: the phone and just text because like I live so close.
- 4:25Speaker 2: But it's like weird because I still don't see her every.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Day exactly same.
- 4:29Speaker 2: But I love when Yeah, I love when people have
- 4:33Speaker 2: good relationships with their parents.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Yeah, so do I. So being back in Virginia meant
- 4:39Speaker 1: a lot to Caitlin because she was able to spend
- 4:41Speaker 1: time with her family and catch up with some of
- 4:43Speaker 1: her local friends that she hadn't seen in a while.
- 4:46Speaker 1: And she actually had decided to hang out with some
- 4:48Speaker 1: of those friends her last night in Virginia before she
- 4:51Speaker 1: flew back home to Arizona, or rather her new home
- 4:55Speaker 1: in Arizona.
- 4:56Speaker 2: So on the.
- 4:56Speaker 1: Morning of December fifth, twenty fifteen, Caitlyn's mom, Lisa, dropped
- 5:02Speaker 1: Caitlyn off at her stepfather's house because she unfortunately had
- 5:06Speaker 1: to work that day and was unable to take Caitlyn
- 5:09Speaker 1: to the airport to catch her flight. Reports say that
- 5:14Speaker 1: her flight was around five thirty and I guess her
- 5:16Speaker 1: mom was, you know, working and couldn't drop her off
- 5:19Speaker 1: like earlier because you know, like two hours before or whatever.
- 5:23Speaker 1: Caitlyn's stepfather, James Branton, also had work that day, but
- 5:28Speaker 1: he worked later in the day, like closer to the
- 5:31Speaker 1: afternoon when Caitlyn's flight time was, so it just made
- 5:35Speaker 1: the most sense for him to drop Caitlyn off at
- 5:38Speaker 1: the airport. James had been in Caitlyn's life since she
- 5:41Speaker 1: was seven years old, and like I mentioned before, he
- 5:44Speaker 1: was the only real father figure she had had in
- 5:47Speaker 1: her life. Her biological father had walked out on their
- 5:50Speaker 1: family when she was a baby, and despite the fact
- 5:54Speaker 1: that he was no longer married to her mom Lisa,
- 5:57Speaker 1: like they also had a pretty good relationship with one another.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Lisa claims James was happy to see Caitlin, and the
- 6:05Speaker 1: two of them began to excitedly talk about Caitlyn's plans
- 6:08Speaker 1: for school as Lisa left to go to work. Later
- 6:11Speaker 1: that day, Amber, Caitlyn's fiance, got a strange text from Caitlin.
- 6:17Speaker 1: It stated that something had come up and she wouldn't
- 6:20Speaker 1: be able to fly home that day, and that she
- 6:22Speaker 1: would be able to respond or that she wouldn't be
- 6:26Speaker 1: able to respond for a little bit. That's weird, yeah,
- 6:30Speaker 1: very like what is the word cryptive, encryptive, encryptive, cryptic, cryptic,
- 6:37Speaker 1: that's the word.
- 6:38Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Amber was alarmed, but she assumed that Caitlyn had more
- 6:44Speaker 1: than likely just missed her flight. I didn't really gather
- 6:48Speaker 1: that that was like her personality or not, but maybe
- 6:51Speaker 1: she was kind of known to be late and things like.
- 6:53Speaker 2: That, right, Yeah, definitely weird though, like I can't I
- 6:57Speaker 2: won't be able to respond. That's like that's really weird.
- 7:01Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that would be alarming to me too.
- 7:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:06Speaker 1: So later that day, Lisa and James had also swapped
- 7:10Speaker 1: texts about how the airport drop off went, and Lisa
- 7:14Speaker 1: asked about how traffic was, because if you do not know,
- 7:17Speaker 1: Northern Virginia has the worst traffic in the whole time
- 7:20Speaker 1: I've driven in like New York and Florida, Like Northern
- 7:24Speaker 1: Virginia has the shittiest traffic. Like it's terrible. Like, if
- 7:28Speaker 1: you need to go somewhere that's thirty miles away, you
- 7:30Speaker 1: might as well leave two hours before you need to
- 7:33Speaker 1: be there. It's ridiculous.
- 7:35Speaker 2: Yeah, that's that's about how like La is.
- 7:37Speaker 1: Yeah, I was gonna say, it's probably similar to LA,
- 7:39Speaker 1: except for La has like six lanes of traffic and
- 7:42Speaker 1: Virginia has like fever so right, it's ridiculous.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Okay, so bad traffic, Yeah.
- 7:49Speaker 1: Really bad traffic. And he stated that it was fine
- 7:52Speaker 1: and that he dropped had dropped her off successfully. So
- 7:56Speaker 1: in Lisa's eyes, all was well, no reason to worry.
- 7:59Speaker 1: Everything sounded like it was going as planned. However, a
- 8:02Speaker 1: short while later, Lisa had received a text message from
- 8:06Speaker 1: Caitlin stating that she was at the airport but her
- 8:09Speaker 1: phone was about to die. She had never mentioned she
- 8:12Speaker 1: wasn't flying home that day like she had to Amber,
- 8:14Speaker 1: so Lisa had no idea about the exchange between the
- 8:17Speaker 1: two of them. Okay, but you know, being a mom,
- 8:23Speaker 1: she was concerned, and she really began to grow concern
- 8:27Speaker 1: when she hadn't heard from Caitlin for a while, knowing
- 8:29Speaker 1: that her phone was supposedly dying, so she decided to
- 8:32Speaker 1: reach out to Amber herself to see if she had
- 8:34Speaker 1: heard from Caitlin.
- 8:36Speaker 2: Okay, so she's like kind of doing her due diligence,
- 8:39Speaker 2: trying to figure out what's going on.
- 8:41Speaker 1: Right, So Amber told her what Caitlyn had said, but
- 8:46Speaker 1: Lisa was confused because Caitlyn had literally just told her
- 8:50Speaker 1: that she was at the airport right, So Lisa immediately
- 8:55Speaker 1: felt in her good that something was not right. Oh no,
- 8:59Speaker 1: So so soon after Lisa actually received two like really
- 9:04Speaker 1: uncharacteristic texts from Caitlyn. They both Amber and Lisa both
- 9:09Speaker 1: said that when Caitlyn would text them, she would like
- 9:12Speaker 1: use a lot of emojis and like she was very
- 9:15Speaker 1: like like use like exclamation points, which I am guilty of.
- 9:19Speaker 1: I feel like, you know how people text, like you
- 9:22Speaker 1: know your friends, you know how they text?
- 9:24Speaker 2: Oh yeah, and you can tell when like they're off
- 9:27Speaker 2: and something like normal.
- 9:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:30Speaker 1: So one of the text message said I'm staying with
- 9:34Speaker 1: a friend and the other one said I need some time,
- 9:38Speaker 1: So I did alarming, Yeah, Lisa tried to call Caitlyn
- 9:42Speaker 1: after that, but her phone was already off. And I
- 9:45Speaker 1: cannot imagine the panic that Lisa must have been feeling
- 9:47Speaker 1: at that time, Like, you know, her daughter was leaving
- 9:50Speaker 1: all these weird text messages, like nothing is adding up
- 9:53Speaker 1: to like her personality, and she's being very vague and
- 9:57Speaker 1: not giving anyone any idea, like any details us to
- 10:01Speaker 1: what's going on with her. And like I mentioned, she
- 10:03Speaker 1: was really close with her mom, and like normally she
- 10:05Speaker 1: would be very forthcoming with like something not being right
- 10:09Speaker 1: and her not feeling well or you know, something you know,
- 10:12Speaker 1: being off. So this was all like really really like
- 10:17Speaker 1: uncharacteristic for Caitlin. So earlier that day, you know, she
- 10:22Speaker 1: dropped Kitlyn off. Everything seemed fine, like Caitlyn was her
- 10:25Speaker 1: normal self, and now all of this like craziness is
- 10:29Speaker 1: transpiring and she can't get in touch with her daughter.
- 10:34Speaker 1: So Lisa decided that all of this was suspicious, so
- 10:38Speaker 1: she was going to reach back out to James, her
- 10:40Speaker 1: you know, stepfather, and he confesses that he actually dropped
- 10:47Speaker 1: Caitlyn off at the Springfield Mall, which is in Springfield, Virginia,
- 10:51Speaker 1: which is still I want to say it's still about
- 10:54Speaker 1: thirty miles from the airport, okay, but that he had
- 10:58Speaker 1: given her twenty dollars and that she planned to take
- 11:01Speaker 1: the Metro to the airport, which Lisa said right away
- 11:06Speaker 1: this was not right because Caitlin had never taken the Metro,
- 11:09Speaker 1: she would not have the first clue on what to do,
- 11:13Speaker 1: how to and if you've never ridden the Metro before,
- 11:15Speaker 1: like it is very like, yeah, there's colors and you know,
- 11:21Speaker 1: different routes and different metros you have to get on
- 11:24Speaker 1: and it's just a lot, right And when you're yeah,
- 11:27Speaker 1: and when you're like, if you're trying to get to
- 11:29Speaker 1: the airport, like that's already like a little bit stressful.
- 11:33Speaker 2: Yeah, and yeah, I don't. I would never expect somebody
- 11:39Speaker 2: to be like, yeah, I'm gonna ride the Metro for
- 11:40Speaker 2: the first time when I'm trying to go to the airport.
- 11:42Speaker 1: Like no, exactly. So, you know, Lisa, knowing her daughter,
- 11:47Speaker 1: she was like, this is not right. Like she was
- 11:49Speaker 1: furious with James and she couldn't, for the life of
- 11:52Speaker 1: her understand why he would allow her to do that,
- 11:55Speaker 1: Knowing she needed to catch a flight and couldn't risk
- 11:59Speaker 1: being or getting lost on the Metro, but he seemed
- 12:04Speaker 1: to have, you know, faith in her and that she
- 12:06Speaker 1: could do it and claim that's what he did, all right. So,
- 12:10Speaker 1: while all of this was transpiring between Lisa and James Amber,
- 12:15Speaker 1: the fiance had also began receiving Facebook messages from Caitlin. So,
- 12:22Speaker 1: you know, according to Lisa, her phone's off, she can't
- 12:25Speaker 1: get in touch with Caitlin. But now Caitlin is Facebook
- 12:28Speaker 1: messaging Amber, which is right, strange, that's weird. Yeah, So
- 12:34Speaker 1: the message stated that Caitlyn had cheated on Amber and
- 12:37Speaker 1: that she couldn't come home okay, So much like Lisa,
- 12:42Speaker 1: Amber thought that the way the messages were written didn't
- 12:44Speaker 1: sound like Caitlyn. Plus she knew Caitlin very well, like
- 12:48Speaker 1: they had been childhood friends. Amber knew that if this
- 12:51Speaker 1: was true, that Caitlyn would have called her and they
- 12:54Speaker 1: would have discussed it over the phone, because that's just
- 12:56Speaker 1: the type of relationship that they had. They were very
- 12:58Speaker 1: open and honest and up from with each other. That
- 13:01Speaker 1: Caitlyn wouldn't have just like bailed.
- 13:03Speaker 2: Right, Like you know, you know somebody, especially somebody you've
- 13:07Speaker 2: been with that long and like are that close with you,
- 13:11Speaker 2: like they're not just going to bail.
- 13:13Speaker 1: Right, And they had been friends for so much, you know,
- 13:15Speaker 1: so many years prior to their relationship, like you know them,
- 13:19Speaker 1: like you know that they're not going to just like
- 13:22Speaker 1: avoid the situation and like freak out.
- 13:24Speaker 2: And leave like especially because I mean maybe if she
- 13:29Speaker 2: hadn't like talked to her all that day, but she
- 13:32Speaker 2: literally was like I'm coming home, like right, Yeah, no,
- 13:36Speaker 2: that's that's weird.
- 13:38Speaker 1: Now. It did come out later that the friends that
- 13:41Speaker 1: Caitlyn had hung out with her last night in Virginia
- 13:43Speaker 1: had gotten drunk with Caitlin and evidently they did have
- 13:46Speaker 1: a threesome. So technically, I guess, you know, according to
- 13:51Speaker 1: their details of that night, you know, Caitlyn did cheat
- 13:56Speaker 1: on Amber. But even still, Amber knows that Caitlyn would
- 14:00Speaker 1: have like called her and told her that she wouldn't
- 14:02Speaker 1: have just been like I'm gonna not catch my flight.
- 14:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:06Speaker 1: So, two hours after you know, Lisa realized that Caitlyn
- 14:11Speaker 1: was missing, she called the police to follow missing person's report,
- 14:16Speaker 1: but unfortunately they told her that it was too early
- 14:19Speaker 1: to file, you know, because she's an adult and blah
- 14:23Speaker 1: blah blah blah, blah.
- 14:24Speaker 2: Fucking typical. Oh my God, if a mom is saying
- 14:28Speaker 2: her child is missing, listen to her exactly.
- 14:32Speaker 1: I literally put here we go with this shit again.
- 14:37Speaker 2: Oh that makes me so mad. I mean I get like,
- 14:41Speaker 2: maybe once in a blue moon the mom is like
- 14:44Speaker 2: crazy and trying to find the daughter, but like, at
- 14:47Speaker 2: least look into it.
- 14:48Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree, And especially because, like, you know, her
- 14:52Speaker 1: sister even said like this is you know, all these
- 14:55Speaker 1: people Amber Lisa, her sister, they're all saying like this
- 14:58Speaker 1: is out of character for her. If that many people
- 15:00Speaker 1: are coming forward and saying that, like, at least just
- 15:03Speaker 1: file the report. Like yeah, maybe don't exhaust every single
- 15:07Speaker 1: last stitch effort that you have, but at least have
- 15:09Speaker 1: like one person out there like investigating, you know.
- 15:12Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree.
- 15:14Speaker 1: So finally, after two days of Caitlin being missing missing,
- 15:19Speaker 1: Lisa was allowed to file the missing person's report and yeah,
- 15:25Speaker 1: exactly two days. You know, everyone says the first forty
- 15:28Speaker 1: eight hours are the most important, but when you're not
- 15:30Speaker 1: allowed to file for the after, you know, until forty
- 15:34Speaker 1: eight hours, like so fu yeah exactly. And while Lisa
- 15:40Speaker 1: was at the police department, the police received a call
- 15:43Speaker 1: that a sanitation worker had recovered Caitlin's luggage and a
- 15:49Speaker 1: drainage ditch on the side of the road on River Road,
- 15:54Speaker 1: which I literally used to live five minutes from. Oh
- 15:58Speaker 1: my god, exactly, So that's kind of crazy. When I
- 16:01Speaker 1: read that, I was like, what, I like right up
- 16:03Speaker 1: the road from that. And it appeared to the police
- 16:07Speaker 1: that the suitcase had been thrown from a moving vehicle.
- 16:11Speaker 1: It was beat up pretty bad, and one of the
- 16:13Speaker 1: wheels was missing.
- 16:15Speaker 2: So like, clearly something happened.
- 16:17Speaker 1: Yeah, something went awry, Like we don't know what or why,
- 16:21Speaker 1: but something is Yeah, that's not good. That's not a
- 16:24Speaker 1: good sign. So upon further inspection of the contents of
- 16:28Speaker 1: the suitcase, they realized that Caitlyn's close, her phone, and
- 16:34Speaker 1: her high school diploma were missing from her belongings.
- 16:39Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, that's not that's not Yeah, that's weird.
- 16:43Speaker 1: That is very weird. So this location was over fifty
- 16:47Speaker 1: miles from where Caitlyn was supposed to be the day
- 16:50Speaker 1: she went missing.
- 16:51Speaker 2: So her suitcases ditched fifty miles. She didn't have a car,
- 16:57Speaker 2: she didn't have yeah, no, and even if she was
- 17:02Speaker 2: going to just go, if she was going to ghost
- 17:06Speaker 2: her fiance and like because she felt bad about cheating
- 17:10Speaker 2: take your suitcase. Yeah, you wouldn't just ditch all of
- 17:14Speaker 2: your stuff and it be like beat up and that
- 17:18Speaker 2: far away from where you were. Like, no, that's.
- 17:22Speaker 1: Exactly, And the Metro doesn't run that far. So even
- 17:25Speaker 1: if she was like I'm going to the airport and
- 17:28Speaker 1: then last night it decided to like go back to Fredericksburgh,
- 17:32Speaker 1: like the Metro, especially at that time, did not run
- 17:35Speaker 1: that far, Like you couldn't.
- 17:37Speaker 2: Like, yeah, there's no way she could have gotten.
- 17:39Speaker 1: There exactly unless someone drove her or or she never
- 17:44Speaker 1: got there to begin with.
- 17:46Speaker 2: Right.
- 17:47Speaker 1: So this location, however, was right up the way from
- 17:51Speaker 1: where James lived.
- 17:53Speaker 2: Oh yeah, what a coincidence.
- 17:56Speaker 1: So James has been sticking to a story that he
- 18:00Speaker 1: dropped off Caitlyn at the mall and then he went
- 18:05Speaker 1: to work, but police would later find out that James
- 18:08Speaker 1: never went to work that day. In fact, according to
- 18:11Speaker 1: his phone records, he never even left the house that day.
- 18:16Speaker 2: Yeah, not suspicious at.
- 18:17Speaker 1: All, exactly, So why lie? Like, what's it? Why do
- 18:21Speaker 1: you need to lie? By all accounts, James loved Caitlyn
- 18:24Speaker 1: like his own child. They weren't having any issues, and
- 18:28Speaker 1: the day that Lisa dropped Caitlyn off. James and Caitlyn
- 18:32Speaker 1: both were seemingly happy and excited to see one another. Okay, So,
- 18:36Speaker 1: like I just mentioned, police did end up subpoena subpoena
- 18:41Speaker 1: ying James's phone records, and they discovered that his phone
- 18:45Speaker 1: pinged at home for all of the text messages between
- 18:50Speaker 1: him and Lisa.
- 18:51Speaker 2: Okay, so he was really at home, yeah.
- 18:54Speaker 1: Though he claimed he was thirty plus miles away dropping
- 18:56Speaker 1: Caitlyn off at the mall or at the airport like
- 19:00Speaker 1: had originally assumed. Right, They also obtained Caitlyn's phone records
- 19:06Speaker 1: and her phone pinned near James's house and also about
- 19:09Speaker 1: fifteen miles from where her luggage was found in Fredericksburg,
- 19:14Speaker 1: never ever at all in Springfield or near the airport
- 19:17Speaker 1: in DC. That's not looking good, James. No, of course, Naturally,
- 19:22Speaker 1: the police began to question James, and he claimed still
- 19:25Speaker 1: he dropped Kaitlyn off at the mall, buy the Jcpenny,
- 19:29Speaker 1: He gave her twenty dollars to take the Metro, and
- 19:31Speaker 1: then he left for work. So the cops then asked, James,
- 19:36Speaker 1: so you're telling us if we pulled the surveillance footage
- 19:39Speaker 1: from the mall and the JC Pennies. We'll see you
- 19:41Speaker 1: in your car dropping Kitlyn off at the location, and
- 19:45Speaker 1: James replied, yes, confident. Yeah, So the cops did just that. Yep,
- 19:51Speaker 1: no sign of either of them. So not only did
- 19:56Speaker 1: they pull the footage at the entrance of the jcpenny,
- 19:58Speaker 1: they pulled all of the footage around the mall. And
- 20:01Speaker 1: it's a pretty big mall and there's a lot of
- 20:03Speaker 1: traffic in that area, so they pulled like you know,
- 20:06Speaker 1: parking lot footage, footage, all the entrances, you know, all
- 20:11Speaker 1: of the things.
- 20:12Speaker 2: Like they did their do due diligence to make sure
- 20:16Speaker 2: that like there's no way he could be like, oh
- 20:18Speaker 2: well I was on the other side or something like that.
- 20:21Speaker 1: Right, Oh I thought I was at Jason Pennies, but
- 20:23Speaker 1: I was at Macy's or North Strum or whatever exactly.
- 20:26Speaker 1: So he's claiming that they're there and there was absolutely
- 20:30Speaker 1: no sign of James, his car or Caitlin. So the
- 20:34Speaker 1: police brought James back in, told them what they had discovered,
- 20:37Speaker 1: and James went silent. He stopped cooperating, He refused to
- 20:43Speaker 1: answer any more questions. So unfortunately, you know, they had
- 20:48Speaker 1: to let him go because they didn't have any evidence.
- 20:50Speaker 1: They had nothing. Initially he did offer to take a polygraph,
- 20:53Speaker 1: but then later backed out, which like we all know,
- 20:56Speaker 1: like polygraphs are not the most reliable, you know, evidence worse,
- 21:00Speaker 1: but sometimes they can be telling.
- 21:02Speaker 2: I think I agree.
- 21:03Speaker 1: The police also got search warrants of like for James's
- 21:07Speaker 1: house and his car, and they found no damnatory evidence,
- 21:12Speaker 1: which is crazy. Like, yeah, and there was a property
- 21:17Speaker 1: that James owned where his mother resided, but at that
- 21:21Speaker 1: time and they even still to this day, they have
- 21:25Speaker 1: been unable to.
- 21:26Speaker 2: Search just because they don't have any like reason to.
- 21:30Speaker 1: Yeah, I guess, I mean to me, if they think
- 21:33Speaker 1: he's a suspect and he kind of like the case
- 21:36Speaker 1: of Kristen Smart, yeah, like you know that was his
- 21:41Speaker 1: parents property whatever, Like he owns this property, so therefore,
- 21:46Speaker 1: like that's enough cause in my opinion, I agree. But yeah,
- 21:51Speaker 1: but they found no DNA at all whatsoever of Caitlin's
- 21:55Speaker 1: in his vehicle, which means he she was never in
- 22:00Speaker 1: in the car at all like he claimed. Okay, of
- 22:03Speaker 1: course her DNA was in his home, but it wasn't
- 22:06Speaker 1: anything like crucial. There was no blood DNA or anything like.
- 22:10Speaker 2: That right, nothing damning or like out of the like
- 22:13Speaker 2: ordinary exactly.
- 22:15Speaker 1: So another odd detail that we learned about James is
- 22:18Speaker 1: that not only did he never go back to his
- 22:21Speaker 1: job that day, he never went back to his job
- 22:26Speaker 1: for six months. He was jobless for six months, yes, which.
- 22:32Speaker 2: Like what but not because he got fired?
- 22:35Speaker 1: I think. So there's like differing information. Like some people
- 22:39Speaker 1: say that he got fired because he didn't go to
- 22:40Speaker 1: work that day, like no call, no show, boom, you're fired.
- 22:43Speaker 1: And then other people claim that like he didn't go
- 22:46Speaker 1: back to work because people at his job like knew
- 22:49Speaker 1: what he knew what he did, and like we're giving
- 22:52Speaker 1: him like crap about it or like you know, whispering
- 22:55Speaker 1: and stuff. But like how would he even know that
- 22:57Speaker 1: if he never even went back. But either way, it's
- 23:00Speaker 1: super suspect.
- 23:02Speaker 2: Yeah, that's sketchy, Like you need a job to make
- 23:06Speaker 2: money to live, so like why would you just randomly
- 23:10Speaker 2: not go back exactly.
- 23:12Speaker 1: So right around the same time, I think it was
- 23:15Speaker 1: like a couple months later after Caitlin went missing, a
- 23:19Speaker 1: body of a young woman was found in Spotsylvania, and
- 23:23Speaker 1: of course, rumors began to fly that it was Caitlin.
- 23:27Speaker 1: But come to find out it was actually the body
- 23:30Speaker 1: of Heather Scone. And I remember this vividly too, because again,
- 23:35Speaker 1: not only did it happen like in the neighboring town,
- 23:38Speaker 1: but people that I actually personally knew knew her.
- 23:42Speaker 2: Oh my god.
- 23:44Speaker 1: So you know, people on Facebook, they were like shocked
- 23:46Speaker 1: and devastated because she had actually been shot in the
- 23:49Speaker 1: head in her car, in her driveway and left for dead.
- 23:52Speaker 2: Oh my god.
- 23:54Speaker 1: Yeah. Luckily her perpetrator was captured and convicted of her murder,
- 23:59Speaker 1: so it was pretty open and shut. But there was
- 24:01Speaker 1: like actually rumors at that time before he was arrested
- 24:04Speaker 1: that like there could be a serial killer, like all
- 24:07Speaker 1: this crazy stuff, because you know, Caitlyn had just went
- 24:10Speaker 1: missing and then this woman was murdered. So according to
- 24:13Speaker 1: the Facebook group that Caitlyn's mother Lisa started, which has
- 24:18Speaker 1: helped find Kaitlin Aikens, Caitlyn was a white female. She
- 24:22Speaker 1: had blonde hair and blue eyes. She was about five
- 24:26Speaker 1: four and one hundred and forty five pounds. She had
- 24:29Speaker 1: piercings in both her ears, her left nostril, her right
- 24:34Speaker 1: lower lip, and her tongue. She had two tattoos, one
- 24:38Speaker 1: was on her right foot that was a cluster of stars,
- 24:42Speaker 1: and one was on the inside of her forearm that
- 24:44Speaker 1: was a cluster of butterflies. And she also occasionally wears
- 24:49Speaker 1: prescription glasses. The most recent news I could find on
- 24:55Speaker 1: the case was that Lisa took a tactic straight out
- 24:58Speaker 1: of the movie Three bill bill Boards, Which this is
- 25:01Speaker 1: the second time that I've heard this movie reference in
- 25:04Speaker 1: a case, and I really want to watch it because
- 25:06Speaker 1: it sounds like a very good fucking movie.
- 25:09Speaker 2: Is it The Three Billboards outside of Adding, Missouri? Okay, Yeah,
- 25:13Speaker 2: I want to watch that too. Yeah.
- 25:15Speaker 1: I think I'm going to try to find it and
- 25:16Speaker 1: watch it this weekend. But basically, like a child goes missing,
- 25:21Speaker 1: the mom like does everything because like police are not
- 25:25Speaker 1: like willing to help, you know, because I guess, I
- 25:28Speaker 1: guess it's an older child, teenaged adult child whatever. So
- 25:31Speaker 1: she like blatantly just puts all these billboards up, like
- 25:34Speaker 1: police don't care, police are not helping, blah blah blah.
- 25:37Speaker 1: So she took the tactic straight out of the movie
- 25:40Speaker 1: Three Billboards and worked with the Aware Foundation and placed
- 25:45Speaker 1: a billboard on James's route to work. I guess he
- 25:48Speaker 1: got a new job that has Caitlin's face pictured on
- 25:52Speaker 1: it and has like all her you know, identifying, you know,
- 25:57Speaker 1: markings and you know when she was like scene and
- 26:00Speaker 1: all that. And Lisa did this in hopes to either
- 26:04Speaker 1: guilt or embarrass James into cooperating with police to figure
- 26:07Speaker 1: out what happened to Caitlin for once and for all. Yeah,
- 26:11Speaker 1: Lisa said that even if they find her body at
- 26:15Speaker 1: this point, it will offer her a small amount of comfort.
- 26:20Speaker 1: And she said, quote, at least I know she's dead
- 26:25Speaker 1: I wouldn't have to worry about it anymore. It's gonna
- 26:27Speaker 1: make me cry. Where is she? Not knowing is the worst.
- 26:34Speaker 2: That's so heartbreaking.
- 26:36Speaker 1: I know that you would rather your child be dead
- 26:38Speaker 1: just to know where they are. Yeah. So investigators are
- 26:42Speaker 1: still supposedly working diligently on Caitlin's case, but there have
- 26:46Speaker 1: been no new leads at all whatsoever.
- 26:51Speaker 2: It's like I feel like it's so I mean, I
- 26:55Speaker 2: don't know, but I feel like when you it's unsolved
- 26:58Speaker 2: but you know who did it, it's almost worse because
- 27:03Speaker 2: it's like so frustrating that they can't get caught.
- 27:07Speaker 1: Yeah, especially if.
- 27:08Speaker 2: They're right there in front of you.
- 27:10Speaker 1: But how is there no evidence. Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
- 27:13Speaker 1: Like it it makes me have like a small amount
- 27:17Speaker 1: of not denial, but like you know, questioning that like
- 27:21Speaker 1: is he responsible? Like right, did he do anything? Because
- 27:25Speaker 1: like there has he can't. I don't know. It just
- 27:28Speaker 1: it doesn't add up.
- 27:29Speaker 2: How can they not prove like where the Facebook messages
- 27:33Speaker 2: came from? Like I wonder if they like an IP
- 27:36Speaker 2: address or something like that.
- 27:38Speaker 1: They definitely should be able to do that. But would
- 27:42Speaker 1: they have to have her device to be able to
- 27:44Speaker 1: do that or no?
- 27:45Speaker 2: Could they Just don't know.
- 27:47Speaker 1: I don't know either. So before I close, I did
- 27:50Speaker 1: want to go over some of the theories that people
- 27:52Speaker 1: have concluded as to what happened to Caitlin.
- 27:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:56Speaker 1: I kind of went down this like rabbit hole on it,
- 28:00Speaker 1: which like rip read, it's like too crazy, some interesting
- 28:05Speaker 1: things on there, but it can it can get really
- 28:07Speaker 1: crazy really fast. Yeah. So some sources believe that Caitlyn
- 28:11Speaker 1: wanted to start a new life and that her stepfather
- 28:14Speaker 1: actually assisted her in doing so. Okay, so since her money,
- 28:18Speaker 1: her clothes, her birth certificate, her diploma were missing, those
- 28:22Speaker 1: are all things that she would technically need to start
- 28:24Speaker 1: over your life. But at the same time, like why
- 28:27Speaker 1: would James not just tell her mother that and like
- 28:30Speaker 1: give her peace if that was the case, you know, right, Yeah,
- 28:33Speaker 1: So like I could see that because like they haven't
- 28:36Speaker 1: found a body, they haven't found any DNA linking to
- 28:39Speaker 1: something you know, malicious happening to her. So it's like
- 28:42Speaker 1: maybe she did start over, but like why not just
- 28:46Speaker 1: come forward, like you'd rather risk your whole reputation.
- 28:49Speaker 2: Right, I don't know, Yeah I could. I could see
- 28:53Speaker 2: that being something that happened. But also the fact that
- 28:57Speaker 2: it was so like the only thing that I would
- 29:01Speaker 2: think that would lead to her wanting to do that
- 29:03Speaker 2: is that she cheated on AM and like felt so
- 29:09Speaker 2: bad and was just like Okay, I want to start over.
- 29:13Speaker 2: But then you literally the next day have it all
- 29:16Speaker 2: figured out like that. H that doesn't sound right to me.
- 29:21Speaker 1: No, it doesn't add up. And based on her personality,
- 29:24Speaker 1: like she you know, she needs her family, she needs
- 29:26Speaker 1: her friends, she needs her loved ones.
- 29:28Speaker 2: So you don't just like disappear, especially like having that
- 29:32Speaker 2: that close of a relationship, like regardless of your fiance,
- 29:36Speaker 2: like with your family, Like you don't just have a
- 29:40Speaker 2: good relationship with your family and then be like, Okay,
- 29:42Speaker 2: I'm gonna start over because this terrible thing happened and
- 29:45Speaker 2: I'm never going to talk to my family again. Like
- 29:48Speaker 2: something pretty damn terrible would have to happen for you
- 29:50Speaker 2: to want to do that. And I do not think
- 29:52Speaker 2: that cheating on your fiance would lead to that.
- 29:55Speaker 1: Yeah, that doesn't. That doesn't warrant such an extreme response,
- 30:00Speaker 1: not at all. So another theory and there's literally zero
- 30:04Speaker 1: proof to this, but this is just another theory that's
- 30:06Speaker 1: out there, is that James tried to make a sexual
- 30:10Speaker 1: advance towards Caitlin and she declined, and that in the
- 30:13Speaker 1: heat of the moment he accidentally killed her. But like
- 30:17Speaker 1: where though, Like where would he have killed her if
- 30:19Speaker 1: there was no blood evidence? Like right, unless he's a
- 30:22Speaker 1: you know, a CSI investigator, Like how would he be
- 30:25Speaker 1: able to cover up something so profound?
- 30:29Speaker 2: You know? How closely did they search his house?
- 30:35Speaker 1: Like did they do they did a thorough I mean,
- 30:37Speaker 1: they got a warrant, did a thorough search of his
- 30:40Speaker 1: property and his vehicle.
- 30:42Speaker 2: Yeah, they would have found something if there was something
- 30:46Speaker 2: like especially something that brutal.
- 30:49Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, okay, and they did, I mean they did
- 30:51Speaker 1: found like find DNA like hair, I guess, or like
- 30:54Speaker 1: you know, clothing particles or whatever. But like you know,
- 30:57Speaker 1: like you said, there was nothing leading to them leading
- 31:01Speaker 1: them to think that there was something brutal that took
- 31:03Speaker 1: place there like no blood, no, you know, brain matter whatever.
- 31:08Speaker 2: So yeah, I don't think that it would be like
- 31:11Speaker 2: a spur of the moment, you know, killing and then
- 31:15Speaker 2: have like absolutely zero evidence even if he cleaned up,
- 31:19Speaker 2: like there's gonna be something. Yeah.
- 31:22Speaker 1: So while I one, James knows exactly where Caitlyn is
- 31:27Speaker 1: and what happened to her, I'm not entirely convinced that
- 31:30Speaker 1: something malicious happened because, like you have to be incredibly
- 31:37Speaker 1: smart and know what you're doing to clean up a
- 31:39Speaker 1: crime scene. Period.
- 31:42Speaker 2: Yeah that's unless he killed her like somewhere else, somewhere else,
- 31:47Speaker 2: like in a field or something like that.
- 31:49Speaker 1: Yeah, But then like I don't know, I just feel like,
- 31:54Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know if they ever did like
- 31:56Speaker 1: you know, searches of like the area around these places.
- 32:01Speaker 1: I mean, I don't think that they did based on
- 32:02Speaker 1: the research that I did. But like even so, I'm
- 32:06Speaker 1: thinking like that area right there are like farmland, there
- 32:11Speaker 1: is but a lot of that stuff is like private property,
- 32:14Speaker 1: so you would have to like know somebody to be
- 32:16Speaker 1: able to like just leave because if he left her body,
- 32:19Speaker 1: left the clothes that he was wearing there, somebody would
- 32:22Speaker 1: stumble across it eventually, you know what I mean. Right,
- 32:25Speaker 1: So yeah, I just find it like really hard. There's
- 32:29Speaker 1: not more evidence pointing towards him being.
- 32:31Speaker 2: To blame, right, But there's also not evidence pointing towards
- 32:35Speaker 2: anybody else exactly.
- 32:37Speaker 1: So he's he's like the key person right now.
- 32:40Speaker 2: Right, so he's clearly involved whether or not she was
- 32:45Speaker 2: murdered or something else happened exactly. But now I understand
- 32:51Speaker 2: why her mom is like, I just want to know anything, anything.
- 32:57Speaker 1: Just anything, Yeah, because when you've done.
- 33:00Speaker 2: Yeah, when you first said that, I was like, well,
- 33:01Speaker 2: isn't isn't it like pretty much understood that she's dead.
- 33:06Speaker 2: But now I'm like, wait, maybe maybe she's not. I mean,
- 33:10Speaker 2: that lack of evidence just I can't wrap my head
- 33:13Speaker 2: around that because it's, like you said that, it takes
- 33:17Speaker 2: a lot to cover up something like that, to get
- 33:19Speaker 2: rid of everything. Yeah, and you know, killing somebody isn't clean, No, And.
- 33:28Speaker 1: There was no sign of struggle or anything like.
- 33:31Speaker 2: Right, and even if like he poisoned her or did
- 33:34Speaker 2: something where there was no blood, like, there's still a
- 33:38Speaker 2: body and all her stuff that was.
- 33:40Speaker 1: Missing, like and then you would think there would be
- 33:42Speaker 1: evidence linking like like a cup with poison or like
- 33:47Speaker 1: you know, something, just something, but there's nothing. And that
- 33:50Speaker 1: is why this case like like keep stamp at night.
- 33:54Speaker 1: So that as of right now, like I said, it's
- 33:58Speaker 1: still an open case. There's no really any new developing information.
- 34:04Speaker 1: But that is the mysterious missing person's case of Caitlin Aikins.
- 34:08Speaker 2: And sorry, when did you say this happened.
- 34:10Speaker 1: In twenty fifteen, So December not long ago. Yeah, so
- 34:15Speaker 1: it's been like almost six years that she went missing
- 34:19Speaker 1: December fifth, twenty fifteen.
- 34:22Speaker 2: So like it's not like it was years and years
- 34:25Speaker 2: and years ago. Like it's definitely still possible that something
- 34:28Speaker 2: can be found. If she was murdered, her body is somewhere,
- 34:32Speaker 2: yea it is, And I mean, yes, there's ways to
- 34:35Speaker 2: get rid of a body where it's like completely gone,
- 34:39Speaker 2: but then there's other evidence like he.
- 34:41Speaker 1: Would go to the store to buy the bucket and
- 34:43Speaker 1: the lie and the gloves and the funt whatever it
- 34:46Speaker 1: is exactly, so like someone disappears.
- 34:49Speaker 2: Yeah, so it's not her body is somewhere, and wow.
- 34:56Speaker 1: I hope it's she's just somewhere. I hope that she
- 34:59Speaker 1: just decided to like start a new life.
- 35:01Speaker 2: And yeah, I mean I don't.
- 35:03Speaker 1: Know why what what happened? Maybe and maybe I don't know,
- 35:07Speaker 1: maybe that situation with those people, like maybe it was
- 35:10Speaker 1: deeper and darker than just a threesome, you know, like
- 35:13Speaker 1: maybe she just felt like she couldn't live with people
- 35:19Speaker 1: knowing what happened to her and just thought it would
- 35:20Speaker 1: be better if she just disappeared. I don't know.
- 35:23Speaker 2: I mean maybe and maybe she I mean, maybe she
- 35:27Speaker 2: was thinking about it beforehand. And I've had issues, like
- 35:33Speaker 2: maybe she as much as she did love Amber, maybe
- 35:36Speaker 2: she didn't see herself being with her or just even
- 35:42Speaker 2: like something else was going, like through some sort of
- 35:44Speaker 2: internal crisis and she was embarrassed and didn't want to
- 35:49Speaker 2: just move on.
- 35:50Speaker 1: Yeah, but if she came home to say goodbye, Like
- 35:53Speaker 1: what if that was the reason she really came home.
- 35:56Speaker 1: I know, I've thought all kinds of crazy.
- 35:57Speaker 2: Stuff, and like, I mean I could see that being true,
- 36:00Speaker 2: and she didn't want to tell it, Like she didn't
- 36:03Speaker 2: want anything to seem off beforehand, so she you know,
- 36:08Speaker 2: nothing changed. How close was she with James.
- 36:11Speaker 1: They were pretty close. I don't think they talked every
- 36:14Speaker 1: day like she did with her mom, but he was
- 36:16Speaker 1: definitely an important person in her life and he was
- 36:20Speaker 1: like a father, a father figure to her. For sure.
- 36:23Speaker 2: He could she could have asked him for his help,
- 36:26Speaker 2: and since he's not her biological father, like, maybe she
- 36:30Speaker 2: thought that he would help her without saying anything to anybody.
- 36:34Speaker 2: And yeah, so you know, maybe maybe she did ask
- 36:39Speaker 2: him to help her, and maybe it was planned more
- 36:42Speaker 2: than you know, just the night before. Maybe it wasn't
- 36:46Speaker 2: just the threesome, it was other stuff. Yeah, and it
- 36:50Speaker 2: had been planned.
- 36:51Speaker 1: And that's what I mean that, even though that sounds crazy, like,
- 36:55Speaker 1: that's what I'm leaning more towards because I just find
- 36:58Speaker 1: it so hard to believe. I mean, definitely, people go
- 37:01Speaker 1: missing and you know, or never seen or heard from again,
- 37:05Speaker 1: and then you know, twenty five years down the road,
- 37:07Speaker 1: they find a body or find a blood stained you know,
- 37:11Speaker 1: shirt or whatever, and then it comes to find out, yes,
- 37:13Speaker 1: they were murdered unfortunately. But like, I don't know, there's
- 37:17Speaker 1: just something about this case that makes me think that
- 37:19Speaker 1: she's still alive.
- 37:20Speaker 2: I don't know why, but yeah.
- 37:22Speaker 1: It keeps me up at night. Yeah, well it really does.
- 37:26Speaker 2: It's weird too that the suitcase was discarded, but other
- 37:31Speaker 2: stuff wasn't there.
- 37:32Speaker 1: Certain important things.
- 37:34Speaker 2: Yeah, like if he if he killed her and just
- 37:38Speaker 2: discarded the suitcase, Like why would all of her stuff
- 37:43Speaker 2: not be in there? I mean maybe he was smart
- 37:45Speaker 2: enough to like take things, but like the birth certificate, Like.
- 37:49Speaker 1: And why would you be stupid enough to do it
- 37:51Speaker 1: right up the road from your house?
- 37:53Speaker 2: Yeah, that's true. You know.
- 37:54Speaker 1: That's the thing that got me too. I was just like,
- 37:57Speaker 1: I mean, he's seen I don't know. I guess he
- 37:59Speaker 1: sees he worked for like some government job. I get
- 38:04Speaker 1: the one that I guess he like never went back to,
- 38:06Speaker 1: like right, you know, he seems like a smart guy,
- 38:09Speaker 1: so like, why would you do that if you knew that,
- 38:11Speaker 1: Like it could lead back to you being suspect.
- 38:15Speaker 2: But maybe he cared about her enough. And although it
- 38:20Speaker 2: hurt his reputation, he's clearly doing okay because he's there's
- 38:24Speaker 2: no evidence against him, and he's not in jail, and
- 38:27Speaker 2: he has a new job and whatever, and he just
- 38:31Speaker 2: was willing to take that hit for her.
- 38:33Speaker 1: Yeah, And I tried to think of it like that,
- 38:34Speaker 1: like as a parent, if my son came to me
- 38:37Speaker 1: and was like I need to disappear, like I need
- 38:41Speaker 1: to Like, you're damn right, I would do everything in
- 38:43Speaker 1: my power to keep safe and you know whatever it took, Like, yeah,
- 38:48Speaker 1: that's true, so even reputation. Yeah, but I just feel
- 38:53Speaker 1: like he would at least tell her mother, like and
- 38:55Speaker 1: give her that piece like why you know, maybe she
- 39:00Speaker 1: I don't know, maybe she doesn't have that ability to
- 39:04Speaker 1: keep it in like he does.
- 39:06Speaker 2: I don't know, and maybe maybe that was Caitlyn's wish
- 39:09Speaker 2: and just said please don't tell her because that'll hurt
- 39:13Speaker 2: her more, knowing that I'm out there and don't want
- 39:15Speaker 2: to see her.
- 39:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I hope she I hope she finds peace. And
- 39:20Speaker 1: definitely if you want to know more like occurring details
- 39:24Speaker 1: like recent things like follow the Facebook group the Help
- 39:28Speaker 1: Find Kaitlin Aikins. Her mother runs it and she posts
- 39:30Speaker 1: stuff all the time. Okay, I'm gonna go follow that
- 39:34Speaker 1: new things and I will be posting you know, pictures
- 39:38Speaker 1: and you know whatever I can find on the case
- 39:41Speaker 1: on our Instagram at Inhuman Underscore podcast and and on
- 39:47Speaker 1: Twitter and on Twitter. I need to do that. I'm
- 39:50Speaker 1: like Twitterugh, I hate Twitter, but I need to download
- 39:54Speaker 1: it so I can like keep up with what's going
- 39:55Speaker 1: on on our Twitter.
- 39:57Speaker 2: I know, I don't. I know nothing about Twitter. I've
- 40:00Speaker 2: ever had Twitter myself. Like I had it once and
- 40:03Speaker 2: I followed like a couple random celebrities, but I never
- 40:06Speaker 2: posted anything. And then I literally one day we had
- 40:10Speaker 2: talked about starting a Twitter for the podcast, but one day,
- 40:13Speaker 2: I think it was when the Miami building collapsed, I
- 40:15Speaker 2: was trying to get like updated news and I found
- 40:18Speaker 2: like an article that led to a tweet, but then
- 40:20Speaker 2: it wouldn't let me see it without signing in, and
- 40:22Speaker 2: I couldn't remember my old password. So I just created
- 40:26Speaker 2: an account for our for our podcast. So now, like
- 40:29Speaker 2: I follow a couple of other podcasters, and I think
- 40:31Speaker 2: we have like six followers. Like I don't post on
- 40:34Speaker 2: there a ton, but I want to start trying to
- 40:36Speaker 2: post like about our cases and stuff on there. Yeah,
- 40:41Speaker 2: just because I feel like Twitter, like it's so in
- 40:44Speaker 2: the moment. Yeah yeah, and I feel like there's a
- 40:47Speaker 2: lot more people that look on like or we'll see
- 40:51Speaker 2: stuff on Twitter that on like Instagram, unless they're like
- 40:54Speaker 2: specifically looking all right from trying. So if you are
- 40:57Speaker 2: on Twitter, go follow us there because we will. We'll
- 41:02Speaker 2: post photos and we'll probably follow you back because I
- 41:04Speaker 2: pretty much follow everybody that follows the six people that
- 41:08Speaker 2: follow us. So it's Inhuman Underscore Podcast on Twitter as well. Yes,
- 41:15Speaker 2: I did post a funny tweet the other day. I
- 41:17Speaker 2: got into Robert's car. He like picked me up after
- 41:19Speaker 2: work after he got home from work because I had
- 41:21Speaker 2: to we had to go run an errand and he
- 41:24Speaker 2: had he was listening to a podcast that was like
- 41:26Speaker 2: a like how to better your life type of podcast
- 41:30Speaker 2: we post on Twitter like my fiance listens to this
- 41:33Speaker 2: during his long commute and me just like true crime murder,
- 41:38Speaker 2: murder murder. Yeah, I thought I was funny, but maybe
- 41:40Speaker 2: I'm not.
- 41:41Speaker 1: But no on Twitter like your slaying and slaying one
- 41:44Speaker 1: the Christmas.
- 41:45Speaker 2: And right, I think I didn't come up with that.
- 41:48Speaker 2: I saw it somewhere, but.
- 41:49Speaker 1: Okay, it's still funny, yeah pre tweet. Yeah, so yeah,
- 41:55Speaker 1: follow us on Instagram and follow us on Twitter. You
- 42:01Speaker 1: can send us what an email for case suggestions in
- 42:06Speaker 1: Humanmonsterpod at gmail dot com.
- 42:09Speaker 2: Or thoughts on this case, like I would love to
- 42:13Speaker 2: like talk more about this case and like thoughts on it,
- 42:16Speaker 2: because you're invested now, right, I am, like, I, as
- 42:20Speaker 2: you were talking about it, I remembered like certain things
- 42:22Speaker 2: about it, but I did not remember that it was
- 42:24Speaker 2: I thought it was just that he killed her and there.
- 42:29Speaker 1: Was no proof.
- 42:30Speaker 2: But now I'm not so sure. Like now I'm like,
- 42:33Speaker 2: maybe he didn't, or if he did, how the hell
- 42:36Speaker 2: was there no evidence? Like this is just blowing my
- 42:39Speaker 2: mind right now. So yeah, if you guys have like,
- 42:41Speaker 2: we'd love to hear your thoughts on it, either on
- 42:43Speaker 2: Instagram or in like, send us an email because I

- 43:04Speaker 1: That was really hard for me last night. I was
- 43:05Speaker 1: like should I don't know how.
- 43:09Speaker 2: Many times I redid the Christians spot one to try
- 43:11Speaker 2: to fit it into sixty seconds.
