- Shaun: Welcome back to The Reset, episode 47. Do you avoid the heavy feelings or do you just face them? What's happening in the world right now, there's a lot of uncertainty and this is something I've talked about in episodes before. even with my own personal life, I guess, you know, I mentioned that I wasn't able to fulfill the 40 day coffee detox that I wanted to do. And hence the 40 days of yoga that I wanted to do as well didn't go ahead. And I guess. thing is, there's always going to be some form of heaviness in terms of feeling in your life. And if there's not right now, don't worry, it'll come. Because when we're in the ebbs and flows, the ups and downs of life, this is exactly what happens. You go from feeling very good to feeling pretty crap. and you only know what good feels like in comparison to feeling like crap. And the invitation here is not so much to just ride the high all the time or avoid the lows or even get comfortable with the lows. it's... in those feelings of what's happening. There is a space where it's untouched by how you feel. It doesn't care how you feel. and in that space you actually get to choose how you are. because that is the being part of you. That is the infinite space. That is the limitless. because it's only with conditions that we feel heavy, that we feel sad, that we feel joyful actually. In many cases, when we feel happy, joyful is in the experience. And when you're being in the experience of life. It doesn't actually go on for a very long time. You the average is 80 years, give or take, with differing age between men and women. So you've only got one shot at this life. And if it was really about material possessions, you probably read in the news that the CEO or the guy who took over and made OnlyFans what it is today, he died of cancer. and I saw someone's post someone quite ⁓ quite popular and has a lot of influence saying that it's basically if you create karma, you create cancer, yeah the only thing is naturally that you actually get cancer. And I guess the point is it's not always the case. There's bad people doing bad things and there are also a lot of good people doing bad things. And if karma was literally what goes around, comes around. It's not just in the negative, it's also in the positive. And what I mean by that, karma itself is just memory. Every action has a consequence. Every action, past action, is your karma. So what you're dealing with now in how you respond to life is because of your karma, is because of the memory that you formed, some of it genetic, some of it through personality. It's happening right now. how you react to the world is because of your karma. And you can either choose to accept it or you can choose to reject it. But shall you choose to reject it, the pathway to suffering is hell. Shall you choose to accept it, the pathway of that suffering is far less because you're moving towards truth. And there's no avoiding the truth. It's only the further away you are from truth, the more intense the suffering. And if you reflect in your life, probably you can look at those times where you felt the most disconnected, you felt the most intense suffering, the most depressed, the most hurt. is because you weren't actually. present with what was happening in reality. and I'll give a really good example of this. So when a loved one, a dear loved one passes away, and I hope that your loved ones stay with you for an abundance of time. But if one of those people passes, coming to terms with their passing... There's a reason why there's five stages of grief, right? Acceptance comes pretty light. And if the acceptance of our karma, acceptance of our reality, means we actually get closer and closer to truth, where there is less and less suffering. And so if you are present with the heavy feeling, with the pain that you're experiencing. you probably find at some point the pain and the suffering start to dissipate, start to disappear. who knows how long that will last, I can't tell you. It's only through your experience because once again, it's your memory, it's what makes you you right now. all of your genetic factors and all of your personality factors and all of it as well like what it takes to be a human being the evolution of a human being all of that is playing out right now But the brilliant part of being a human being means you get to choose. If you're conscious enough, you can choose. And usually being conscious enough means you got to slow down. You gotta let your brainwave state slow down. Because when you slow down, then you can start to see what's actually going on. And with what's happening in the world, there's a lot of uncertainty. Fuel prices are surging through the roof, which is going to have a big on-flow effect to the cost and the rising cost of living. We already saw interest rates go up. You're going to see if the petrol crisis really does happen. The cost of groceries, the cost of everything will go up because simply you cannot meet the demand. Trucks fuel Australia's economy and grocery shelves. if you take trucks off the road. That's it, there's no more. Australia stops. So what is being said in the media, there is actual truth to it. But the question is, do you play into the fear? Do you let yourself feel fearful? Or do you become a little bit more proactive? because there's a few different responses when it comes to fear. is flight, fight, freeze. Those are just three of the F's. when it comes to a dump of adrenaline or cortisol. But with your breath, you can actually change your state even more. You can go from being in that sympathetic survival state to in a more relaxed parasympathetic or what could be better known as more just relaxed and essentially being able to take in new information, being able to think clearly, not reactive. Confidence and clarity are not the same thing. If you're clear about something, it's usually because the antenna is clear. You can see with clear focus based on all the information that's gathering and you can make an informed decision about what's happening. So now is not the time to panic. But now is the time. to make some decisions about how you spend your money. what is necessary and what is unnecessary. So what's luxury and what's necessary because we've lived in very good times for very long time. Very comfortable times. and it just goes to show how. interconnected our global economy is, it affects everyone. I'm saying this for you to become fearful, I'm pointing out the fact that maybe those heavy feelings, maybe those things that don't allow you to continue doing the work. are because there's deeper stories being played out in your head. There's unconscious behaviors and patterns that are coming out from being reactive, being reactive to what's happening in the world. So take a breath in through the nose. And out from the mouth letting out a sigh. Sometimes it all, sometimes just taking a little pause and focusing on your breath allows you to settle, relax and take in more and new information. So if you found this episode helpful today. Recommended to just one person. That's how we grow and thanks for tuning in. I look forward to seeing you in tomorrow's episode.
