- 0:05SPEAKER_01: They're spoiled, but it's not their fault they smell that way.
- 0:09SPEAKER_06: Is that Wet Goat?
- 0:12SPEAKER_01: It's another episode of The General's Wake Up Call.
- 0:16SPEAKER_01: And now, Wren and David.
- 0:27SPEAKER_04: I know, I you know I've got to quit doing that.
- 0:30SPEAKER_05: Oh, I do it too, though, every single time.
- 0:32SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I but you know.
- 0:33SPEAKER_04: I feel like it connects me very good.
- 0:36SPEAKER_04: Really?
- 0:37SPEAKER_04: I'm pissed off today.
- 0:42SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 0:43SPEAKER_04: I I don't know.
- 0:44SPEAKER_04: Just all all the stuff happening one time.
- 0:46SPEAKER_04: I know that you're uh you've got a couple of personal struggles that you're working on as well.
- 0:51SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 0:52SPEAKER_04: So, um so really I think it kind of sets the mood of what we want to do today.
- 0:57SPEAKER_05: I agree.
- 0:58SPEAKER_04: Don't you think?
- 0:59SPEAKER_04: I mean because I can remember feeling this pissed off.
- 1:04SPEAKER_04: Maybe I should ref rephrase that.
- 1:06SPEAKER_04: This mad, this upset, when um when I was in high school and the Vietnam War was in the had broken out.
- 1:15SPEAKER_10: Oh yeah.
- 1:16SPEAKER_04: I mean, you know, I was ready to I was ready to scramble.
- 1:22SPEAKER_05: You were ready to move to Canada.
- 1:25SPEAKER_05: Rebel.
- 1:26SPEAKER_04: That's right.
- 1:26SPEAKER_04: Gonna go to Canada.
- 1:27SPEAKER_04: Not that I won't support my country.
- 1:29SPEAKER_04: Because I I I'll support my country.
- 1:32SPEAKER_04: Um but that was a useless war.
- 1:35SPEAKER_10: Oh yeah.
- 1:35SPEAKER_04: And I think what's going on right now in Russia, I don't know the politics.
- 1:40SPEAKER_04: I don't know, but golly, aren't we to the point?
- 1:44SPEAKER_04: Aren't we civilized yet?
- 1:46SPEAKER_04: That we don't have to be such big bullies.
- 1:50SPEAKER_04: Putin is a freaking bully.
- 1:52SPEAKER_05: Oh, it is.
- 1:53SPEAKER_05: I hope you're listening, Putin.
- 1:55SPEAKER_04: We have a couple of downloads in Russia, so I'm Putin, you assholes.
- 1:59SPEAKER_05: We won't we won't have any downloads after that.
- 2:03SPEAKER_04: Well, the people of Russia might be.
- 2:05SPEAKER_04: It's it's the leadership.
- 2:07SPEAKER_05: Oh, yeah, because we'll with the issue is really there's there's no real politics to it, Dave.
- 2:12SPEAKER_05: From everything, I've been following this on the BBC.
- 2:14SPEAKER_05: You know, because British, they're the closest to it.
- 2:17SPEAKER_05: You're up to it, yeah.
- 2:21SPEAKER_05: Headline or whatever.
- 2:23SPEAKER_05: But I've been listening to the BBC.
- 2:24SPEAKER_05: There's really no reason that Putin wants to invade Ukraine other than he wants their land, he wants their resources.
- 2:31SPEAKER_05: He's been tricking the people into thinking there's a genocide happening, that there's a resurgence of Nazism in Ukraine.
- 2:38SPEAKER_05: Dave, let me tell you this.
- 2:40SPEAKER_05: Ukraine's president, Zelensky, is Jewish.
- 2:43SPEAKER_05: Okay?
- 2:44SPEAKER_05: So there's no re-rising of Nazism in Ukraine.
- 2:47SPEAKER_05: Um and the people of Russia, as far as I know, they are only getting propaganda.
- 2:52SPEAKER_05: So they're just Oh, I'm sure, yeah.
- 2:54SPEAKER_05: Yeah, they're just trying to support what they think is a is a few.
- 2:57SPEAKER_04: And they don't understand why the rest of the world is pissed off.
- 2:59SPEAKER_04: They have no clue.
- 3:02SPEAKER_04: The reports that I've been reading and seeing is that the the actual Russian people, not the army, not Putin, not the administration.
- 3:11SPEAKER_04: The everyday people are like, why is everybody pissed off as us?
- 3:14SPEAKER_05: Yeah, and and you know what, uh, that's when your empathy has to kick in and you have to be like, if you were just regular Joe Schmoe caught up in the middle of this, and literally every piece of information that you're allowed to see says, this is a good thing, we're helping people.
- 3:27SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 3:27SPEAKER_05: You'd probably agree with it.
- 3:28SPEAKER_05: But it's the younger folks who have more of a connection to the outside world who are protesting it.
- 3:35SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 3:35SPEAKER_04: Well, let's protest today.
- 3:36SPEAKER_04: I want to do some anti-s, I want to take it's it's kind of a take-me back show for me for sure.
- 3:41SPEAKER_05: Absolutely.
- 3:41SPEAKER_04: But yeah, I want to do let's do some anti-war songs, and I know you've been doing research on some.
- 3:46SPEAKER_05: Yes, I have.
- 3:47SPEAKER_05: And uh what I found is well, I mean, it should take you back.
- 3:49SPEAKER_05: Some of the best uh anti-war songs ever written are from the Vietnam War.
- 3:53SPEAKER_04: Absolutely.
- 3:54SPEAKER_05: Great time for music and a great time for anti-war sentiment.
- 3:58SPEAKER_04: It's when marijuana became really popular.
- 4:00SPEAKER_04: Yeah, and drugs and um acid, you know.
- 4:04SPEAKER_05: Open up your mind.
- 4:05SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 4:05SPEAKER_05: Realize maybe we should chill out.
- 4:08SPEAKER_04: Mushrooms.
- 4:08SPEAKER_04: Mushrooms became so.
- 4:10SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 4:10SPEAKER_05: So I decided to start it off with an anti-Vietnam War protest song, probably the most famous famous anti-war song.
- 4:17SPEAKER_05: Um, originally written for the temptations, but performed by our beloved Edwin Starr.
- 4:22SPEAKER_04: Oh, I love this song.
- 4:24SPEAKER_04: Good God, y'all!
- 4:25SPEAKER_05: Good god, y'all, what is it good for?
- 4:38SPEAKER_10: Absolutely, I'm not sure.
- 8:09SPEAKER_05: If you didn't know before, Dave, what is war good for?
- 8:13SPEAKER_04: Absolutely, and I want to say the F word, but I'm not gonna.
- 8:17SPEAKER_04: Because we are on radio these days.
- 8:19SPEAKER_05: Yes.
- 8:20SPEAKER_04: But yeah, that's how I feel.
- 8:21SPEAKER_04: I mean, I felt that way about the Vietnam thing too.
- 8:24SPEAKER_04: What were we saying before?
- 8:25SPEAKER_05: This song was you were mentioning, I wonder if there's any protest songs from the Korean War.
- 8:30SPEAKER_04: Yeah, the Korean War.
- 8:32SPEAKER_05: But uh I said, well, maybe there was such a rise of anti-war sentiment with the Vietnam War, because that was, as far as I know, the first televised war.
- 8:43SPEAKER_04: So that I think is the big thing.
- 8:45SPEAKER_05: Yeah, that was the first time people back at home were like, oh, this isn't like noble.
- 8:50SPEAKER_05: This is horrible.
- 8:51SPEAKER_05: We're just killing young people.
- 8:54SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 8:55SPEAKER_04: Yeah, Korea was rough too.
- 8:56SPEAKER_04: I think Korea had more casualties than actually Vietnam did.
- 8:59SPEAKER_04: And and they were both just called police action.
- 9:04SPEAKER_09: Police action.
- 9:05SPEAKER_04: We didn't until recently into the last decade.
- 9:08SPEAKER_04: We're not called a war.
- 9:11SPEAKER_04: It was a war.
- 9:13SPEAKER_04: Man against man uh combat combat uh man against combat.
- 9:18SPEAKER_05: I don't know what I'm trying to say, but yeah, you know combat situations where people are fighting and killing.
- 9:24SPEAKER_05: This wasn't just you over there to get back.
- 9:28SPEAKER_05: It's complicated too because you know you think of um Is there any is there any justifiable cause to start a war?
- 9:36SPEAKER_05: No, I don't think so.
- 9:37SPEAKER_05: At the end of the day, there's always gonna be some crazy force that wants to inflict terror.
- 10:24SPEAKER_04: I I I will say yeah, I think we should I think we should declare war on Putin as well.
- 10:31SPEAKER_04: I think not the country.
- 10:33SPEAKER_04: Not the man.
- 10:35SPEAKER_04: I mean the politics and I don't know.
- 10:38SPEAKER_04: And and maybe the Russian people are extremely happy.
- 10:40SPEAKER_04: I I don't know.
- 10:41SPEAKER_04: Uh because I I'm not there, but I do know that there there should have been all he's trying to do is take their stuff.
- 10:49SPEAKER_04: Pretty much it's a bully trying to take their stuff and go home.
- 10:52SPEAKER_05: Yeah, and and subjugate these people who are their own sovereign nation.
- 10:56SPEAKER_05: You know, Ukraine has been fighting battle after battle over their own sovereignty for decades now.
- 11:03SPEAKER_05: Decades now.
- 11:03SPEAKER_04: So it's I didn't know their leader was Jewish, though.
- 11:06SPEAKER_05: Yeah, cool, dude.
- 11:08SPEAKER_05: Have you ever watched he's a he's younger, he used to be an actor, would you believe it?
- 11:13SPEAKER_04: I do, like Ronald Reagan.
- 11:15SPEAKER_04: Yeah, like Ronald Reagan.
- 11:17SPEAKER_05: Um and uh he's just totally there for the people.
- 11:21SPEAKER_05: So many different countries have have offered uh asylum for him, and he's like, nope, this is my home.
- 11:26SPEAKER_05: This is not staying.
- 11:27SPEAKER_04: That's what impressed me and his wife, too, because they offered it to his wife, and she goes, No, my place is with my husband and my country.
- 11:34SPEAKER_04: Period.
- 11:34SPEAKER_05: That's what's really surprised a lot of the Russian troops who have been coming into Ukraine.
- 11:39SPEAKER_05: It's not only they thought they were coming in to basically save the Ukrainian people from genocide or whatever.
- 11:45SPEAKER_04: Yeah, terrorism.
- 11:46SPEAKER_05: Yeah, and when they come in there and people are like, get out of our home, they're like, What?
- 11:50SPEAKER_05: Yeah, so it's not surprisingly, there's been a lot of videos of uh Russian defectors who are good.
- 11:56SPEAKER_04: God bless them.
- 11:57SPEAKER_04: Godspeed to them, do what you do what's in your heart.
- 12:00SPEAKER_05: Which actually gives me perfect segue into my next song.
- 12:05SPEAKER_04: See, that's that's the kind of guy I am.
- 12:07SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
- 12:07SPEAKER_05: Thank you, Dave.
- 12:08SPEAKER_04: You throw them out and I'll catch them every time.
- 12:11SPEAKER_05: One and done, baby.
- 12:12SPEAKER_05: This is this next song is called Defector, and it is by Muse.
- 12:16SPEAKER_05: And I don't think it's even specifically an anti-war song, but it is a pro stand up for what you believe in and fight against the powers that be for what you think is right.
- 12:26SPEAKER_04: I'm gonna love it.
- 12:27SPEAKER_05: So this one's for all those Russian defectors out there.
- 12:29SPEAKER_04: Go for it.
- 12:30SPEAKER_00: It's dissent is a silence, not praying.
- 13:31SPEAKER_09: But your empire I was just looking to my eyes, and you know, and you bang, and so yeah, you both have to be a little bit.
- 17:01SPEAKER_00: Free and independent.
- 17:05SPEAKER_04: Yes!
- 17:06SPEAKER_10: Yes!
- 17:06SPEAKER_04: I like that.
- 17:07SPEAKER_04: Listen, I want to share this, Ren.
- 17:08SPEAKER_04: I posted this a few days ago on my Facebook page, but I this is how I feel.
- 17:13SPEAKER_04: This is the and I know this is This is why you and I have the connection that we have.
- 17:19SPEAKER_04: I'm almost sure.
- 17:20SPEAKER_04: You can correct me if I'm wrong, but I posted this.
- 17:22SPEAKER_04: Some mornings I wake up with heavy anxiety, tormented about the current state of affairs, wondering what I can do to ease tension and relieve the pain of those sufferings.
- 17:32SPEAKER_04: I know I've got delusions of grandeur.
- 17:35SPEAKER_04: Can't help it.
- 17:36SPEAKER_04: It's the way I wanted it.
- 17:37SPEAKER_04: My father put undue pressure on me uh when I was growing up, some of which I hold against his spirit to this day.
- 17:45SPEAKER_04: He did have some great traits.
- 17:48SPEAKER_04: One of which, uh spot here when I did that.
- 17:55SPEAKER_04: He did have some great traits, one of which, as a community leader, he did his best to make our little corner of the world a little bit better place to reside.
- 18:04SPEAKER_04: But you know, that's why I am what I am.
- 18:08SPEAKER_04: Right now, though, I'm gonna take a step back.
- 18:10SPEAKER_04: I'm letting go of what really ails me and holds me back.
- 18:14SPEAKER_04: I count my blessings, and then the words of Carrion Wood, Jesus take the wheel.
- 18:20SPEAKER_04: Use me, Lord, to your benefit.
- 18:23SPEAKER_04: I will continue to make my little corner of the world a little bit better and use the proper and set the proper example for my kids and grandkids.
- 18:30SPEAKER_04: I know my in my heart, they accept me for who I am as I am.
- 18:35SPEAKER_04: And that in itself is a blessing.
- 18:37SPEAKER_05: Beautifully said.
- 18:39SPEAKER_04: You think you feel the same way?
- 18:40SPEAKER_05: Yeah, oh, truly.
- 18:41SPEAKER_04: I mean, I I I realize I realize you're kind of on the fence with the whole religion thing, organized religion thing, but I I I overall I it's the feeling of believing in something bigger than yourself.
- 18:52SPEAKER_05: And also believing in hope and being kind to.
- 18:55SPEAKER_04: Exactly, exactly.
- 18:56SPEAKER_05: I I believe in a lot of the teachings of organized religion, even though I don't subscribe to any one, but no, the sentiment is all there.
- 19:04SPEAKER_05: It really speaks to that feeling of how much we're exposed to these days and how exhausting it is and how run down we feel, and how the most important is just to focus on what we have and what we can't control and who we love.
- 19:18SPEAKER_04: Well, I know for a fact that you that stuff really rests heavy on you.
- 19:23SPEAKER_04: Not just whether because I know you're having issues at home right now or uh different things.
- 19:29SPEAKER_04: Um not bad issues, just just stuff that's just frustrating life things.
- 19:35SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that you gotta go through.
- 19:36SPEAKER_04: But I know that you're like that with everything as far as you want to make you're trying to make the world a little bit better place as well.
- 19:44SPEAKER_05: Yeah, and how and how frustrating it is.
- 19:46SPEAKER_05: How frustrating it is, and now I have to remind myself it's like it's it's out of your hands.
- 19:50SPEAKER_05: Jesus take the wheel.
- 19:51SPEAKER_05: Thank you for that song, carrying it in the wood.
- 19:53SPEAKER_04: Exactly.
- 19:54SPEAKER_04: Jesus Somebody take the wheel.
- 19:57SPEAKER_05: That's the next song I'm playing, actually.
- 19:58SPEAKER_04: Some spirit, great spirit, take the wheel.
- 20:03SPEAKER_05: Oh yeah, fate, whatever destiny, usually.
- 20:06SPEAKER_04: Whatever you whatever you worship, whatever you believe, let that that's greater than you, let that take the wheel.
- 20:11SPEAKER_05: Yeah, because at the end of the day, we if we were made to be able to fix everything, we'd have a thousand arms and we would have gigantic brains that can lift things with it.
- 20:20SPEAKER_05: Like, no.
- 20:20SPEAKER_05: We're you know like fish are made to swim, so they have gills.
- 20:26SPEAKER_05: We're not made to breathe underwater, so we don't have gills.
- 20:29SPEAKER_04: Yeah, but you can go on Harry, you can get that stuff that Harry Potter took and Oh yeah, true.
- 20:34SPEAKER_04: I would love to have that.
- 20:36SPEAKER_05: Oh, we're gonna swand.
- 20:38SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I yeah, I digress.
- 20:41SPEAKER_04: All right, well, let's have another tune.
- 20:42SPEAKER_04: Why not?
- 20:43SPEAKER_05: Yeah, this is a pretty straightforward one.
- 20:44SPEAKER_05: This is John Lennon and Yoko Onix, the classic Ono band.
- 20:48SPEAKER_05: Give peace a chance.
- 20:50SPEAKER_04: This is a great tune.
- 20:59unknown: Everybody talk about bags, bags, bags, pack, bag, and
- 25:36SPEAKER_04: Oh, we are sane.
- 25:40SPEAKER_04: Love that.
- 25:40SPEAKER_04: So you were telling me that uh every time Mark David Chapman chose up for parole, what does Yoko do?
- 25:46SPEAKER_05: Oh yeah.
- 25:47SPEAKER_05: So of course we all know Mark David Chapman is the fiend who took John Lennon out of the world.
- 25:52SPEAKER_05: Um but anytime he's up for parole, Yoko Ono will show up to court and say, I don't feel safe with him in the world.
- 25:59SPEAKER_05: I don't feel safe with my kids and him in the world together.
- 26:02SPEAKER_05: They send him right back to prison.
- 26:04SPEAKER_05: And it whatever you think about Yoko Ono, whether you think that's petty or not, I'm sorry, but I love her for it.
- 26:09SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I agree.
- 26:10SPEAKER_05: Screw that guy.
- 26:11SPEAKER_04: You know what?
- 26:11SPEAKER_04: And I would, if it was my spouse, I'd do the same thing.
- 26:14SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 26:14SPEAKER_04: I'd be there every year or every time there's a parole, I'd be there.
- 26:17SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 26:18SPEAKER_05: And she very well probably doesn't feel safe.
- 26:20SPEAKER_04: Yeah, and you know, I would probably say something like, Well, if you let the sun out, I'm gonna kill you.
- 26:25SPEAKER_04: Oh, was that my outside voice now?
- 26:27SPEAKER_05: Oh, was that did I actually say that?
- 26:29SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I'd like to welcome Encore Coffee.
- 26:32SPEAKER_05: Encore.
- 26:32SPEAKER_04: Encore coffee.
- 26:33SPEAKER_04: And she has got such a great story and why it's called Encore.
- 26:38SPEAKER_04: And you're gonna love it.
- 26:39SPEAKER_04: I'm gonna have her own as a guest as well.
- 26:40SPEAKER_04: Oh, cool.
- 26:41SPEAKER_04: Tammy, she's such a sweet Tammy Riser.
- 26:43SPEAKER_04: Encore coffee, Farmington, New Mexico.
- 26:45SPEAKER_04: Check them out.
- 26:46SPEAKER_04: Be looking for we're gonna talk about a blend of coffee.
- 26:49SPEAKER_05: Oh, yeah.
- 26:50SPEAKER_04: Okay, you and I are gonna come up with our own blend.
- 26:53SPEAKER_04: And then we're gonna give it away on air.
- 26:55SPEAKER_04: I'll have a chance.
- 26:56SPEAKER_05: I like that.
- 26:57SPEAKER_05: Encore coffee.
- 26:58SPEAKER_05: I also love the location it's at.
- 26:59SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 27:00SPEAKER_05: Very chill.
- 27:01SPEAKER_04: Yeah, very chill.
- 27:01SPEAKER_04: It's very cool over there.
- 27:03SPEAKER_04: The whole atmosphere inside there.
- 27:04SPEAKER_04: And they've had, I've I've booked some guests there.
- 27:06SPEAKER_04: Gabriel Sario has been there, uh Joel Ratcheff, who's gonna be our guest next week, which you're out of town.
- 27:12SPEAKER_04: I'm sorry to hear, but Joel Ratcheff is gonna be on.
- 27:15SPEAKER_05: Joel has some big shoes to fill.
- 27:17SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 27:18SPEAKER_04: Uh and then uh uh of course Ryan Woodard's been there several times.
- 27:22SPEAKER_04: Um I didn't book him, but uh I've got her a couple of acts, and so I'm excited for her.
- 27:27SPEAKER_04: I'm excited for her the business and I'm excited about her story.
- 27:31SPEAKER_04: It's one of those uh survivor stories.
- 27:34SPEAKER_05: Oh gosh, I'm excited to hear it.
- 27:35SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that's a tickler.
- 27:36SPEAKER_04: That's what uh that's called Encore.
- 27:38SPEAKER_05: That's what in the business we call a teaser.
- 27:41SPEAKER_05: A tickler.
- 27:42SPEAKER_04: A tickler teaser.
- 27:43SPEAKER_04: Come here, let me tickle you.
- 27:44unknown: Oh, a little early.
- 27:46SPEAKER_04: Well, see, you I don't do it like you do.
- 27:49SPEAKER_04: I mean, you're like in my face with you, like, oh, charge at me.
- 27:53SPEAKER_04: Like you're gonna bite me or something.
- 27:55SPEAKER_04: Headbutt me.
- 27:56SPEAKER_05: It's not my fault.
- 27:57SPEAKER_05: The microphone's right in front of you, but I can see from your angle you go, oh, it would be extra terrifying.
- 28:04SPEAKER_04: Listen, I want to thank this lady that came by, and you know knew her April uh dresses as Wonder Woman, and I've seen many a picture of her on Facebook.
- 28:11SPEAKER_05: She's cosplayer extraordinaire.
- 28:13SPEAKER_04: Yeah, she brought us these rice cake somethons.
- 28:16SPEAKER_05: They're called um, oh god, why can't I remember it?
- 28:20SPEAKER_05: All of my Japanese training has flew from my head.
- 28:23SPEAKER_05: Um, well, all I can say right now, before I remember the name of what those are called, uh, she has a company called Ichigo Cosplay.
- 28:30SPEAKER_05: I-C-H-I-G-O cosplay.
- 28:33SPEAKER_04: Ichigo.
- 28:34SPEAKER_05: Yes, and her and her fellow uh dress-up masters will dress up as different characters for any kind of event you can think of.
- 28:41SPEAKER_04: Oh, yeah, we and you know what?
- 28:43SPEAKER_04: They're doing this thing too.
- 28:44SPEAKER_04: Uh it's called What the Junk Presents, Doll and Toy Show that's gonna be April 2nd.
- 28:50SPEAKER_05: I know some board game.
- 28:53SPEAKER_05: Oh, well, I've gotta get back.
- 28:55SPEAKER_05: What the junk presents, doll and toy style.
- 28:57SPEAKER_05: Oh, cool, so they're gonna dress up and be there.
- 28:59SPEAKER_04: Yeah, and they're always looking for fundraisers and people to help.
- 29:01SPEAKER_04: They've got some exhibitor space available.
- 29:04SPEAKER_04: Okay, back to anti-war piss-off stuff.
- 29:06SPEAKER_05: And if I can't remember the name of the rice balls, the Japanese name for those rice balls that Rachel, so Rachel, April, so graciously gave us.
- 29:13SPEAKER_04: Well, they're triangle, they're not balls.
- 29:14SPEAKER_04: There's a triangle.
- 29:16SPEAKER_05: But that's what I mean.
- 29:16SPEAKER_04: I know the difference.
- 29:17SPEAKER_04: Now that guy had if he had balls like that, he'd be sick.
- 29:20SPEAKER_05: But they're they're a whole like way to make food in Japan.
- 29:22SPEAKER_05: They have a whole name.
- 29:23SPEAKER_05: I can't remember them.
- 29:23SPEAKER_05: Anyway, we'll remember them later.
- 29:25SPEAKER_04: Ichigo.
- 29:27SPEAKER_05: Ichigo means strawberry.
- 29:28SPEAKER_04: Oh, okay.
- 29:29SPEAKER_04: Well, no.
- 29:30SPEAKER_04: She had Ichigo earrings on.
- 29:31SPEAKER_05: Yeah, Ichigo.
- 29:32SPEAKER_05: Strawberries are her favorite, so then she named her whole company after it.
- 29:35SPEAKER_05: I think that's pretty dang smart.
- 29:37SPEAKER_04: It is cute.
- 29:37SPEAKER_05: You know what's also cute?
- 29:39SPEAKER_04: All right.
- 29:40SPEAKER_04: We're doing anti-war.
- 29:41SPEAKER_05: Yes, that's pretty cute.
- 29:42SPEAKER_04: We're pissed at Putin.
- 29:43SPEAKER_05: Screw that guy.
- 29:45SPEAKER_04: And we want to uh send our love out to the people in both in Ukraine and the Russians that don't agree with what's going on.
- 29:52SPEAKER_10: Yes.
- 29:52SPEAKER_04: Uh our heart, thoughts, love, good vibes, prayers, whatever it is that you do, all sent to those folks over there having to go through a war.
- 30:04SPEAKER_05: A war.
- 30:05SPEAKER_05: Well, and just a blatant invasion and and and affront to their democracy.
- 30:09SPEAKER_05: I'm like surprised.
- 30:10SPEAKER_05: I'm surprised that anyone wouldn't, any American wouldn't be angry about this.
- 30:15SPEAKER_05: Like, that's the one thing we all stand for.
- 30:18SPEAKER_04: Where's all my hippie friends?
- 30:20SPEAKER_05: Let's join hands in the street.
- 30:22SPEAKER_04: Sing Kumbaya.
- 30:23unknown: Come on, guys.
- 30:24SPEAKER_05: Well, you do know there's like uh armed milit anti-milit anti, not anti, but former military people from all over the world who are flying to Ukraine to help on the I know, I've seen that.
- 30:34SPEAKER_04: I've read about it.
- 30:35SPEAKER_04: Uh I I will tell you that the best place to catch some of the news is on our station, KSJE, because they have uh they do a bright, uh Britain feed from Britain who has more of the non biased biased news uh in the mornings on KSJE here in the pharmacist.
- 30:54SPEAKER_04: And you get them online at ksj.com and you can hear what Britain uh what's going on.
- 30:59SPEAKER_04: It's a little bit it's a little bit better than what we're getting talking about.
- 31:02SPEAKER_05: Yeah, and I would say it's it's not biased from either angle.
- 31:04SPEAKER_05: You know, yeah, exactly.
- 31:05SPEAKER_05: Exactly.
- 31:06SPEAKER_05: Whatever your opinion of American politics is, BBC really just puts it out there straight and forward.
- 31:11SPEAKER_04: Take it like it's like the old Walter Cronkite and Tom Brookhoff.
- 31:16SPEAKER_05: That's the way it is.
- 31:17SPEAKER_04: That's the way it is.
- 31:19SPEAKER_05: That's the way the cookie covered.
- 31:21SPEAKER_05: The way it was okay, there you go.
- 31:23SPEAKER_04: I might pull that sound bite from Walter too.
- 31:26SPEAKER_04: He was one of my all-time favorites.
- 31:27SPEAKER_04: That's the way it was.
- 31:29SPEAKER_05: Yeah, you should.
- 31:29SPEAKER_05: We could put it in the closing trail.
- 31:31SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 31:32SPEAKER_05: I like that.
- 31:32SPEAKER_04: Yeah, me too.
- 31:33SPEAKER_04: All right, what do you got, Rand?
- 31:34SPEAKER_04: What I got.
- 31:35SPEAKER_04: We're rambling.
- 31:35SPEAKER_05: Now, this is we are rambling.
- 31:37SPEAKER_05: This is very much a lot because this next song is a little bit more of a serious one.
- 31:43SPEAKER_05: This is the cranberries, who you know are an Irish band.
- 31:46SPEAKER_05: Love the crane.
- 31:48SPEAKER_05: We're very um actively against the uh the troubles in Ireland at the time, the conflict.
- 31:53SPEAKER_04: There was a war in itself.
- 31:54SPEAKER_04: That was major.
- 31:55SPEAKER_05: Oh, yeah, and a civil one too.
- 31:57SPEAKER_05: How painful would that be?
- 31:58SPEAKER_04: Knowing brethren, your brethren and your sister and yeah, against like our civil war was.
- 32:04SPEAKER_05: So our last couple of songs were a little bit more hopeful.
- 32:07SPEAKER_05: This one's definitely channeling the pain of unnecessary.
- 32:11SPEAKER_04: Pain me up.
- 32:12SPEAKER_04: Hurt me, hurt me, Ren.
- 33:23SPEAKER_11: You see, it's not me, it's not my family.
- 33:34SPEAKER_11: With their tice, and there bons, and there bons, and there bons, in the head, in your head, and then we're gonna be a very good idea.
- 34:45SPEAKER_11: The violence causes silence.
- 34:50SPEAKER_11: We must be missed together.
- 34:55SPEAKER_11: It's the same OT six nine, team sixteen, in the I There's the fighter with their days, and there once, and there once, and there once, in our hey, in our head, there are a lot of the same.
- 37:19SPEAKER_04: That's what we call in the biz, Ren.
- 37:22SPEAKER_05: A cold ending.
- 37:23SPEAKER_04: That's a cold ending.
- 37:24SPEAKER_04: That was kind of like my last relationship.
- 37:27SPEAKER_04: Done over.
- 37:29SPEAKER_04: Thank God it wasn't just one and done.
- 37:31SPEAKER_05: Yeah, Dave got ghosted.
- 37:33SPEAKER_04: Thank God it wasn't just one and done.
- 37:35SPEAKER_05: Yeah, Dave got ghosted.
- 37:37SPEAKER_05: Do you know what that term means?
- 37:38SPEAKER_04: I do.
- 37:39SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 37:39SPEAKER_05: At least you didn't get zombied.
- 37:41SPEAKER_04: What's zombied?
- 37:42SPEAKER_05: The last song that we just listened to.
- 37:45SPEAKER_05: Zombie?
- 37:48SPEAKER_05: Because I had some background info on it, and I wanted to talk about how it was Oh, lay it on me.
- 37:53SPEAKER_05: It was specifically inspired by a bombing that happened in the UK during the Troubles.
- 37:59SPEAKER_04: Ireland it was yeah, either was it Great Britain trying to think of where Ireland.
- 38:02SPEAKER_04: It had to be the one.
- 38:03SPEAKER_05: It was well, the UK was slowly um um enforcing more and more control over Ireland.
- 38:10SPEAKER_05: Um there's now Northern Ireland and then just Ireland, which is like one's an independent country and and one's still part of the UK.
- 38:17SPEAKER_04: But Northern Ireland is probably the independent one.
- 38:22SPEAKER_05: Yeah, no, Northern Ireland is the one that's part of the UK, and then I think the rest of Ireland is just their own republic.
- 38:29SPEAKER_05: But the Irish Republican Army, um, the IRA, uh, was an Irish Republican paramilitary organization that sought to end British rule in Northern Ireland.
- 38:39SPEAKER_05: No, you're right, Northern Ireland is the thought.
- 38:42SPEAKER_05: Okay, my bad.
- 38:43SPEAKER_05: But uh they they took to a lot of terrorist tactics, a lot of bombings and killing innocent people, which is never right.
- 38:53SPEAKER_05: No, and that's what Zombie was inspired by, the song we just listened to.
- 38:57SPEAKER_05: There was a bombing in uh the UK that ended up killing two little boys.
- 39:01SPEAKER_05: One was twelve and one was only um, I want to say, two years old.
- 39:05SPEAKER_05: Oh my gosh.
- 39:06SPEAKER_05: Yeah, and uh the lead singer of the cranberries, uh Dolores Or Reardon, was very kind of she was in Liverpool at the time, so she was physically pretty close to the attack, and it just haunted her.
- 39:19SPEAKER_05: So she wrote a song basically decrying the the evils and unnecessary perils of war.
- 39:24SPEAKER_04: Let me guess.
- 39:25SPEAKER_04: I bet she's got a personality like you.
- 39:27SPEAKER_05: Some might say.
- 39:29SPEAKER_04: So here's the deal we gotta get her a song written so you can get some of that out of your get that some of that out of your heart and out where everybody can hear it.
- 39:36SPEAKER_05: Out into the world.
- 39:37SPEAKER_04: That's right.
- 39:38SPEAKER_05: And that's why I write that's why I do like her singing too.
- 39:41SPEAKER_05: She's technically yodeling, but there's when I cry, I almost sound like that.
- 39:45SPEAKER_05: The I can so see, I've never seen you cry like that.
- 39:51SPEAKER_04: I've seen tears in your eyes.
- 39:53SPEAKER_05: Very few people have ever seen me cry that that hard.
- 39:57SPEAKER_04: Mama?
- 39:58SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 39:58SPEAKER_05: My mama and my boyfriend and my best friend.
- 40:01SPEAKER_05: I'm sure we all have moments like that.
- 40:03SPEAKER_04: Oh gosh, now I feel I feel I don't I feel bad now that I haven't got to see you cry.
- 40:08SPEAKER_04: I'm gonna I'm gonna hit you really hard during the next one.
- 40:12SPEAKER_05: No, it's good because one of the reasons I don't cry that hard is it's just like for everyone involved, super awkward.
- 40:17SPEAKER_05: Because there's nothing you can do to comfort me, and I'm just screaming and I'm looking at you like it's really okay.
- 40:23SPEAKER_05: You're not it's it's for your own good.
- 40:27SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 40:29SPEAKER_04: I get it.
- 40:30SPEAKER_04: Get it.
- 40:30SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I think.
- 40:31SPEAKER_04: Well, listen, I am.
- 40:31SPEAKER_04: I mean, maybe I'm having too much fun with this anti-war stuff, but I do I I I hope we can get the message out.
- 40:37SPEAKER_04: I mean, you know, I I I love the the what was that first song we played by war?
- 40:45SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 40:45SPEAKER_04: No, no, no, you won by uh John and uh Oh, give peace a chance.
- 40:49SPEAKER_04: Give peace a chance.
- 40:50SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I just that's all that I would say to people.
- 40:52SPEAKER_04: Let's see if we can't quit being bullies.
- 40:55SPEAKER_04: And and parents, don't raise your child up to be a bully.
- 41:00SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 41:00SPEAKER_04: Period.
- 41:01SPEAKER_04: It's simple.
- 41:02SPEAKER_05: Alan, we're in a modern day age.
- 41:03SPEAKER_05: Is that really the way we solve things now?
- 41:06SPEAKER_04: Just just, but it shouldn't be.
- 41:08SPEAKER_05: Exactly.
- 41:09SPEAKER_05: That's my big belief is that as a species, as a as a humanity, as a race, however you want to look at it, if we're God's children or if we're just came from the earth like everything else, we have advanced too far for this.
- 41:22SPEAKER_05: We have too much technology, too much empathy, too much like skills to talk to one another to do this anymore.
- 41:28SPEAKER_04: That's right.
- 41:29SPEAKER_05: We need to change.
- 41:29SPEAKER_04: That's why I've always had a hard time with the F-word.
- 41:32SPEAKER_04: Because I've always thought that I should have a vocabulary big enough that I can come up with a different word than that F-word.
- 41:38SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 41:39SPEAKER_04: That's the way I feel but see, times have changed.
- 41:41SPEAKER_04: Nobody cares for that anymore.
- 41:43SPEAKER_05: I that's one of the biggest things I can't stand about TV shows these days is their overuse of the F-word.
- 41:48SPEAKER_05: Oh my gosh! Not even because I don't like the vulgarity, it's like, can you please think of something more creative?
- 41:54SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 41:55SPEAKER_05: Like if you watch a any Stephen King movie or read any of his books.
- 41:58SPEAKER_04: Good point.
- 41:59SPEAKER_05: He's got such creative insults.
- 42:01SPEAKER_04: He does.
- 42:01SPEAKER_04: And not a lot of F words.
- 42:03SPEAKER_05: Not a lot of F words.
- 42:04SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 42:04SPEAKER_04: I don't think there's any that I've any Stephen King that I've seen.
- 42:07SPEAKER_05: I mean, there's some in there, but it's like they're used very precisely.
- 42:10SPEAKER_05: It's not overused.
- 42:12SPEAKER_04: Right at the right opportune time.
- 42:14SPEAKER_05: The right opportune time.
- 42:15SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 42:16SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I understand.
- 42:17SPEAKER_05: We got some we got some people coming back into the building.
- 42:20SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 42:21SPEAKER_04: Our hostess slipping back in.
- 42:24SPEAKER_04: And Felicia's feeling some buttling on today.
- 42:26SPEAKER_04: Wait, hold on, turn around, Felicia.
- 42:27SPEAKER_04: Let me see your butt.
- 42:29SPEAKER_04: She doesn't.
- 42:30SPEAKER_05: She doesn't have any buttling, but she but she's got that wiggle.
- 42:33SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 42:35SPEAKER_04: We love you, Felicia.
- 42:36SPEAKER_04: Bye, Felicia.
- 42:37SPEAKER_05: Bye.
- 42:38SPEAKER_04: Bye, Miss Julie.
- 42:42SPEAKER_05: Always good to see them.
- 42:43SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 42:45SPEAKER_05: But bling.
- 42:47SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I can't get my mind off the buttling.
- 42:49SPEAKER_05: You're just gonna have to buy her jeans every year now.
- 42:51SPEAKER_05: Really nice, expensive butling jeans.
- 42:53SPEAKER_04: But I can get some real nice jeans and bedazzle them.
- 42:56SPEAKER_04: That too.
- 42:57SPEAKER_04: A bedazzled butt is just as good as a butling.
- 43:00SPEAKER_05: Too bad it's not quarantine anymore.
- 43:01SPEAKER_05: That could have been your quarantine, Jack.
- 43:03SPEAKER_04: Oh, yeah, that'd be nice.
- 43:04SPEAKER_05: Bedazzling thing.
- 43:05SPEAKER_04: I could have made a fortune.
- 43:06SPEAKER_05: Dave's buttling.
- 43:07SPEAKER_05: Get yours today.
- 43:09SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I've changed my name to Ben.
- 43:11SPEAKER_05: Ben?
- 43:11SPEAKER_04: Ben's butling.
- 43:14SPEAKER_05: Say it on Etsy, but.
- 43:15SPEAKER_04: I said my last name would be Over.
- 43:17SPEAKER_05: Over.
- 43:18SPEAKER_04: Ben's Ben Over Butling.
- 43:21SPEAKER_05: Ben but this is really happening because that's too perfect.
- 43:28SPEAKER_04: It's magic.
- 43:30SPEAKER_04: I are a marketer.
- 43:32SPEAKER_04: Bend over butling.
- 43:33SPEAKER_05: Ben's over butling.
- 43:35SPEAKER_04: I'm gonna start a new fad.
- 43:36SPEAKER_04: Okay, I got us totally off subject.
- 43:38SPEAKER_04: I'm so sorry.
- 43:39SPEAKER_04: But I am upset.
- 43:40SPEAKER_05: I mean, I I guess we've been fighting for, right?
- 43:44SPEAKER_05: The freedom to have fun.
- 43:45SPEAKER_04: Have you ever been to a play that was so serious?
- 43:47SPEAKER_04: Because I remember directing a play one time.
- 43:50SPEAKER_04: Well, I was I was uh assistant director, and I was directing, and it was called for Curly Girls.
- 43:54SPEAKER_10: Oh, yeah.
- 43:55SPEAKER_04: And it was so tense.
- 43:56SPEAKER_04: I mean, it was so tense, and the audience started laughing.
- 43:59SPEAKER_04: Oh I got so pissed off.
- 44:01SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 44:02SPEAKER_04: And my and the guy that was I was directing it with, his name, a guy by the name of Paul Hardy.
- 44:06SPEAKER_04: Paul Hardy.
- 44:07SPEAKER_04: Paul Hart Yeah, Paul No, Pat, Pat Hardy.
- 44:10SPEAKER_04: Pat Hardy.
- 44:12SPEAKER_04: Um he said they couldn't, the audience couldn't had to break the tension, they couldn't handle it.
- 44:16SPEAKER_05: Yep.
- 44:17SPEAKER_04: So I know you've done plays.
- 44:18SPEAKER_04: Have you ever been in a play that was like that?
- 44:20SPEAKER_04: When it got so tense the audience got a lot of time.
- 44:22SPEAKER_05: They had to laugh.
- 44:23SPEAKER_05: I'm sure there has been.
- 44:24SPEAKER_05: I can't think of any off the top of my head.
- 44:27SPEAKER_05: The first I've been to some tense plays where it was so tense, but also so well done that like by the end no one laughed, but also everyone was depressed.
- 44:36SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 44:37SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I I I will say that it's a it is.
- 44:40SPEAKER_04: Is a way to break for me, because I'm so passionate about this anti-war thing, and I know you feel the same way.
- 44:46SPEAKER_04: It's just for me to get silly as kind of a way to break the tension inside uh so that I don't let it break on me so much.
- 44:53SPEAKER_05: My big leading theory is that it's uh it's um it's a survival mechanism.
- 44:57SPEAKER_05: It's a way for you to take the stress, your brain take the stress, and diffuse it and physically get it out without it like making you actually think you're in danger.
- 45:06SPEAKER_05: You want to hear my theory?
- 45:07SPEAKER_05: Tell real quick about it.
- 45:08SPEAKER_05: In World War I, the trench war, you know, when they were in the trench, it's a horrible, horrible way to live at all.
- 45:14SPEAKER_05: Um it was theorized, and this is just a theory, that the Brits ended up psychologically after the war doing better because they had the classic dry British wit to keep them sane in the trenches in the trenches, whereas the Germans afterwards had a much harder time psychologically.
- 45:32SPEAKER_05: Germans are so serious.
- 45:34SPEAKER_04: They were.
- 45:35SPEAKER_04: And you know the but see, I don't understand half the British without that that's what kept them sane.
- 45:42SPEAKER_05: They were spending so much time in the trenches going, what the what the hell did that even mean?
- 45:47SPEAKER_05: Oh well, I get it.
- 45:48SPEAKER_05: That was pretty funny, poll.
- 45:49SPEAKER_05: Anyway.
- 45:50SPEAKER_04: Pole?
- 45:51SPEAKER_05: Pole my terrible British accent.
- 45:53SPEAKER_04: Oh, that's good.
- 45:54SPEAKER_04: I like your British accent.
- 45:55SPEAKER_05: And that's something that we forget about.
- 45:56SPEAKER_05: The tragedy of war two is just all the poor, bright young people we send to just die.
- 46:00SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 46:01SPEAKER_05: And be damaged for life.
- 46:03SPEAKER_04: And you know, and in and our government made it our government was just as bad when we were doing wars.
- 46:07SPEAKER_04: It was a statistic.
- 46:09SPEAKER_04: So if we send a hundred thousand over there, we know a certain percentage of those are gonna die.
- 46:13SPEAKER_04: We should beat them.
- 46:14SPEAKER_05: That's horrible.
- 46:15SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I well, yeah, and it's war.
- 46:18SPEAKER_05: It is, and it's just to think that limiting lives, real lives, to just numbers and statistics.
- 46:25SPEAKER_05: I mean, it's just it's not a game of risk.
- 46:27SPEAKER_04: Inhumane.
- 46:28SPEAKER_05: It's not monopoly.
- 46:29SPEAKER_05: These are people's good point.
- 46:31SPEAKER_04: It is not monopoly.
- 46:33SPEAKER_04: Or the game of risk.
- 46:33SPEAKER_05: Risk is at the same time.
- 46:36SPEAKER_05: That's how we'll solve all international conflicts in analogy.
- 46:38SPEAKER_05: Just play risk.
- 46:39SPEAKER_05: Play a big game of risk at the UN.
- 46:42SPEAKER_04: I I was just thinking about getting everybody, everybody, everybody on God's green earth a box of 64 crayons with a sharpener in the back.
- 46:52SPEAKER_05: Just to keep calm.
- 46:54SPEAKER_04: Color every day, or at you know, once a week.
- 46:57SPEAKER_04: Sit down and color.
- 46:58SPEAKER_04: How can you get pissed off if you got a box of all those colors and you're coloring on your face?
- 47:03SPEAKER_05: Specifically a crayon, too.
- 47:05SPEAKER_05: A crayon is a big thing.
- 47:07SPEAKER_05: You need that like creamy feeling of when you're coloring.
- 47:09SPEAKER_05: Nothing like it.
- 47:10SPEAKER_05: I'm sure you would believe me if I told you I had a big coloring book of uh mermaids at home that I do when I was stressed.
- 47:17SPEAKER_04: I believe that.
- 47:18SPEAKER_04: I will say this real quick before we do another.
- 47:20SPEAKER_04: So my mom, because when my kids uh were little, I wanted to buy them uh coloring books, you know, that had the line.
- 47:25SPEAKER_04: My mom said, Don't get them.
- 47:26SPEAKER_04: And if and if you do, let them color outside the lines.
- 47:29SPEAKER_04: Don't make them stay in the line.
- 47:30SPEAKER_04: Whatever they do, you'd let them do.
- 47:31SPEAKER_04: But my mom would get them big notepads, blank pads, and let their imaginations flow.
- 47:36SPEAKER_05: Run wild.
- 47:37SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 47:37SPEAKER_05: I agree.
- 47:38SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 47:39SPEAKER_04: All right, well, that's my parenting tip for the day.
- 47:41SPEAKER_05: Well, that kind of fits too.
- 47:42SPEAKER_05: This next song is sort of about uh it's from the perspective of a soldier who you know is just dreaming of being anywhere else but the war.
- 47:50SPEAKER_04: Wow, that would be my thoughts exactly.
- 47:52SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 47:53SPEAKER_05: This is Dirty Harry by Gorilla.
- 47:55SPEAKER_04: Oh, yes.
- 50:16SPEAKER_06: I'm a beast level deep boy, ready for the navigation.
- 50:19SPEAKER_06: I take all the things for a five box, six hundred, five, one, one up, one of those beasts like the light, this one is the first time.
- 50:39SPEAKER_06: I don't think the wire groups, still put your own legs, just be the one from the bottom line on the game, it's like a light speed up.
- 50:59SPEAKER_06: Oh my god, speak that with a light ball.
- 51:41SPEAKER_05: Yeah, that song came out during the the war in the Middle East, I think.
- 51:44SPEAKER_05: The dirty hairy was very much an anti-Over on the air?
- 51:53SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 51:53SPEAKER_04: Oh my god, I'm sorry.
- 51:55SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I'm looking for that Jonathan too, and I don't think it we have it available to us.
- 51:59SPEAKER_04: I was hoping we did.
- 52:00SPEAKER_05: It's probably got some weird name like it was, you know, it was real simple.
- 52:08SPEAKER_04: One, two, three.
- 52:09SPEAKER_04: No, let's see.
- 52:10SPEAKER_04: Yeah, one, two, three.
- 52:11SPEAKER_04: What are we fine for?
- 52:12SPEAKER_04: Don't know, don't give it any.
- 52:14SPEAKER_04: Next stop is Vietnam.
- 52:15SPEAKER_04: Five, six, seven, eight.
- 52:18SPEAKER_04: Uh say hello to the pearl of gates.
- 52:21SPEAKER_04: Woo! We're all gonna die.
- 52:22SPEAKER_04: Something like that.
- 52:23SPEAKER_05: Oh, goodness.
- 52:24SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it was it was it was pretty in your face.
- 52:26SPEAKER_05: It was short and told you exactly how he felt about it.
- 52:30SPEAKER_05: Oh, yeah, he didn't care for uh I do I do have a Vietnam War um anti-war song up next.
- 52:36SPEAKER_05: I think it should be pretty much Buffalo Springfield for what it's worth.
- 52:41SPEAKER_04: I love Buffalo Springfield, I love this song.
- 52:44SPEAKER_04: Good choice.
- 52:54SPEAKER_08: There's something happening here, but what it is ain't exactly clear.
- 53:03SPEAKER_08: There's a man with a gun over there telling me I got to beware.
- 53:16SPEAKER_08: Everybody look what's going on.
- 53:29SPEAKER_08: There's battle lines being wrong, but nobody's right if everybody's wrong.
- 53:38SPEAKER_08: The young people speak in their minds.
- 53:42SPEAKER_08: Are getting so much resistance from behind we stop.
- 53:48SPEAKER_08: Hey, what's that sound?
- 53:50SPEAKER_08: Everybody look what's going down Waterfield for the heat.
- 54:07SPEAKER_08: Thousand people in the street singing songs and they carry insights Mostly say for our sight It's time we stop.
- 54:22SPEAKER_08: Hey, what's that sound?
- 54:24SPEAKER_08: Everybody looks what's going on, or you're strikes deep into your life, it will creep.
- 54:45SPEAKER_08: It starts when you're always afraid.
- 54:50SPEAKER_08: Step out of the line, the man come and take you away.
- 54:55SPEAKER_08: We better stop.
- 54:58SPEAKER_08: Never gotta look, what's going to never stop?
- 55:01SPEAKER_07: Hear what's that sound?
- 55:03SPEAKER_07: Never gotta look, what's going never stop?
- 55:06SPEAKER_07: Now what's that sound?
- 55:07SPEAKER_07: Never gotta look what's going, we never stop.
- 55:18SPEAKER_04: Listen, you were telling me a story.
- 55:21SPEAKER_05: I was telling you a story.
- 55:22SPEAKER_04: Oh, yeah, what that sounds kind of pretty.
- 55:25SPEAKER_04: Your iPad is up for my mind meeting.
- 55:28SPEAKER_05: This is uh Dave's iPad's fault for being laggy.
- 55:31SPEAKER_05: I was pressing the pause button.
- 55:34SPEAKER_04: Hey, um this is kind of serious, and I dig this.
- 55:39SPEAKER_04: I mean I hope that the people that that this happened to, that their families are taken care of and looked after.
- 55:46SPEAKER_04: But there was what was it?
- 55:50SPEAKER_05: Snake Island 13.
- 55:52SPEAKER_05: It was a little military post outside of Ukraine.
- 55:55SPEAKER_05: It's a little island that holds a pretty good military advantage.
- 55:59SPEAKER_05: It was one of the first big attacks that Russia committed against Ukraine at the beginning of this whole invasion.
- 56:06SPEAKER_05: Thirteen people landed this island, eleven of whom were women.
- 56:18SPEAKER_05: And you will be Ukrainians and you can hear me talking for a second because then the whole thing was recorded.
- 56:27SPEAKER_05: What do we do?
- 56:27SPEAKER_05: What do we do?
- 56:32SPEAKER_05: So that was the worst part.
- 56:38SPEAKER_05: So they get on the radio and they go, Russian warship, go to hell.
- 56:43SPEAKER_05: They all they were all killed.
- 56:45SPEAKER_04: They were slaughtered.
- 56:46SPEAKER_04: They were slaughtered.
- 56:48SPEAKER_04: Let's make let's say what it is.
- 56:50SPEAKER_04: They were freaking slaughtered.
- 56:51SPEAKER_04: Now, th I'm sure those women were military.
- 56:53SPEAKER_05: They were military, they were strong ladies, they were probably communications officers.
- 56:58SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it it doesn't matter whether they were men or women.
- 57:00SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 57:01SPEAKER_04: It's the fact that they were women is kind of makes it a give me even more goosebumps.
- 57:05SPEAKER_04: I mean, they were gonna stand up against those guys.
- 57:07SPEAKER_04: Yeah, they to mother Russia they were standing up.
- 57:10SPEAKER_05: Not only that, but told them to shove it.
- 57:12SPEAKER_04: F off?
- 57:13SPEAKER_05: F off.
- 57:14SPEAKER_05: Is the is I tried to give it a more like radio appropriate censored version, but the actual version is you told the Russian warship to F off.
- 57:22SPEAKER_04: Yeah, because I got goosebumps when you told me the first time.
- 57:24SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 57:25SPEAKER_04: Uh and I'm not a big fan of the F-word.
- 57:27SPEAKER_04: So I I don't know.
- 57:28SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 57:29SPEAKER_05: I mean, that's a good time.
- 57:30SPEAKER_05: We talked about it.
- 57:30SPEAKER_05: That's a perfect place to use it.
- 57:32SPEAKER_05: You need to use it sparingly, and that is the time to use it.
- 57:35SPEAKER_04: That's right.
- 57:35SPEAKER_04: And that way it means more when you think about it.
- 57:38SPEAKER_05: Oh gosh.
- 57:38SPEAKER_05: And then the cut the comment that made me cry was uh in the comments of this article I was reading about these people.
- 57:44SPEAKER_05: Someone said, God, I just hope that there's some sort of afterlife so that these heroes are drinking mead at the halls of Valhalla with ocean hits cells.
- 57:53SPEAKER_04: Absolutely.
- 57:55SPEAKER_04: Absolutely.
- 57:56SPEAKER_05: So what'd you say to the Russian warship when they told you to surrender?
- 57:59SPEAKER_05: Well, we told them to go to hell.
- 58:02SPEAKER_05: Whoa!
- 58:03SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 58:04SPEAKER_04: I would love to be sitting in a bar with that, man.
- 58:07SPEAKER_04: I'd be I'd be I'd be buying drinks for everybody that did that.
- 58:11SPEAKER_04: If you t yeah.
- 58:13SPEAKER_05: Just gives you chills, right?
- 58:14SPEAKER_04: And and yeah, I've got goosebumps.
- 58:16SPEAKER_04: Just I mean, yeah.
- 58:17SPEAKER_05: Gives you something to fight for.
- 58:19SPEAKER_04: You you left me with a really good feeling.
- 58:21SPEAKER_04: All right, we need to do one more song.
- 58:22SPEAKER_04: We need to get the heck out of here.
- 58:24SPEAKER_04: Uh, out of Dodge.
- 58:25SPEAKER_04: We're gonna get the heck out of Dodge.
- 58:26SPEAKER_05: Let's get the heck out of Dodge.
- 58:27SPEAKER_04: Russia, get the hell out of Ukraine.
- 58:29SPEAKER_05: Yes, for real.
- 58:30SPEAKER_05: Why don't you just I hear there's a train coming into town.
- 58:33SPEAKER_04: Okay, hold on, hold that thought.
