Transcript
- 0:22Hey kids, welcome to Jesus and Me Clubhouse.
- 0:25I'm Casey. I'm so glad you could join us
- 0:28today. Let's say our motto.
- 0:30Repeat after me. I will tell my friends.
- 0:33I will. Tell my.
- 0:34Friends so they can know God so. They can know.
- 0:38God, even Jesus, wanted to know God.
- 0:41He went to church to learn the Bible.
- 0:43He was hiding God's word in his heart.
- 0:47I heard that. What are you and the kids hiding
- 0:50now? Casey?
- 0:52We're hiding God's Word. The Bible.
- 0:56What did you do, steal a bunch of Bibles?
- 0:59No, we didn't steal anything. We want to learn God's Word so
- 1:04we can get inside our heart like the Bible says.
- 1:07I have hidden God's word in my heart.
- 1:10Why do you want a Bible in your heart?
- 1:13We don't want a Bible in our heart.
- 1:15We want to keep what it says in our heart so we can remember it
- 1:19and obey it. Have you ever told someone you
- 1:21had something to give them and they forgot about it?
- 1:24Kind of. It was a long time ago.
- 1:27I was going to take my little brother fishing with me and I
- 1:31waited all day for him, but he never showed up.
- 1:35He said he forgot. Well, God has a lot of good
- 1:38promises for us in His Word, like healing and peace, but some
- 1:43people forget them and so when they have problems, they don't
- 1:46remember that God wants to bless them.
- 1:48So we by God's word and a heart, so we don't ever forget that God
- 1:52has good things for us. So you're not stealing anything
- 1:56or attacking anybody? No, it's OK.
- 2:00Matilda tell the police it was a false alarm.
- 2:14Up in a tree hanging down from above a beehive busily buzzing
- 2:19God's love. Papa Bee, Mama, Bee, Chubby and
- 2:23Bree buzzing God's way. Take a look and you'll see why
- 2:33Bree asks. Mama.
- 2:34Tell me why do we pray and why do we always do things God's
- 2:38way? And why do we buzz off to church
- 2:41each weekend? Please Mama, tell me why is
- 2:45Jesus my friend and why do we sing songs to God up above?
- 2:50And why does the Bible tell us God is love?
- 2:54These are the questions I'm having today.
- 2:56Please, Mama, please tell me why.
- 2:59Bree did say Chubby buzzed up. Bree, leave Mama alone.
- 3:04Quit asking her questions. She just got home.
- 3:07She's tired from buzzing and just needs to rest.
- 3:10Your questions are dumb. You're being a past.
- 3:14Chubby. Scolded Mama.
- 3:15That just isn't true. I like Aubrey's questions.
- 3:20I like all yours too. We must keep learning.
- 3:23Be teachable. I say.
- 3:25Keep asking questions. Ask questions each day.
- 3:29But Mama. Said Chubby then let out a sigh.
- 3:33All she keeps asking is why, why why why?
- 3:37I'm tired of her asking these questions at rhyme.
- 3:40It makes my B brain flip out all the time.
- 3:44Mama just smiled as she went on to say.
- 3:47Chubby, be teachable. It's always God's way.
- 3:51Breeze asking questions because she wants to know.
- 3:54Learning is what helps our little minds grow.
- 3:59When Jesus was little, he wanted to know all about God so his
- 4:04spirit could grow. And as he grew older, he learned
- 4:08from above that he was the Savior, God's gift of love.
- 4:13If he wasn't teachable, he'd never had known that He came to
- 4:18die for our sins all alone, high on a cross, so that we could
- 4:23become children of God by accepting God's Son.
- 4:28Chubby buzzed in. Hey, I just had a thought, if I
- 4:32never learned about God, I could not have ever asked Jesus in my
- 4:37heart to stay and I wouldn't know how to do things God's way.
- 4:42I'm sorry, Bree. Chubby started to cry.
- 4:46I won't complain the next time you ask why.
- 4:49I just remembered how I used to be, so if you have a question
- 4:54you can ask me. You can hear and see more
- 4:57stories about Chubby and Bree on your favorite podcast or video
- 5:01platform. Just search for the B Attitudes.
- 5:08Stacy, what are you doing? Did you?
- 5:10See it? See what the?
- 5:12Bible I have hidden in my coat. Why are you hiding the Bible in
- 5:16your coat? And why are you wearing
- 5:18sunglasses? And that goofy.
- 5:19Hat. I was hiding it in my coat
- 5:22because I can't figure out how to get it inside my heart, which
- 5:26is a really good hiding place I might add.
- 5:28Was that your idea? The Bible tells us to hide God's
- 5:32Word in our heart. I didn't think you were clever
- 5:35enough to come up with that, but how do you get God's Word into
- 5:39your heart? When you learn what the Bible
- 5:41teaches, God's Word gets into your heart.
- 5:44And when God's word gets into your heart, you know that God
- 5:47has good things for. You actually hide the book in
- 5:51your. Heart No.
- 5:53So I don't need the secret agent costume.
- 5:58No. Good, it was starting to get
- 6:00hot. I'll just get rid of all this
- 6:02stuff then. I got something special to show
- 6:09you. Do you want to see what it is?
- 6:12It's a book, but not just any book.
- 6:15This book is not like any other book we have.
- 6:19This book is called the Bible and it's so.
- 6:23Special. I know a lot of people who have
- 6:26Bibles, but not everybody takes time to read it.
- 6:31It's important that you open it and read it because when you do,
- 6:34God speaks to you. How does He speak to you?
- 6:38Well, this is His Word, and when you read it, you're going to
- 6:42find out just how much God loves you and how good He is.
- 6:47And every time that you read it, His word gets planted in your
- 6:51heart. In fact, today's Bible verse is
- 6:55Psalm 11911. I have hidden God's word in my
- 7:00heart. Can you say that after me?
- 7:03OK, say I have hidden I. Have hidden.
- 7:07God's Word. God's Word.
- 7:08In my heart, great job. It's important that you learn
- 7:13God's Word and there's a few ways that you can do this in
- 7:16addition to reading your Bible. It's important that you go to
- 7:19church because at church your teachers actually tell you about
- 7:23Jesus. And you can also watch the Jesus
- 7:26and Me Clubhouse and we will teach you about Jesus too.
- 7:31Let's say our Bible verse one more time.
- 7:34Psalm 11911 I have hidden I have.
- 7:37Hidden. God's Word, God's Word in my
- 7:40heart in. My heart.
- 7:42Great job. I thought you might like to
- 7:47visit my friend Professor Fetzig.
- 7:49Professor Fetzig. Fetzig is a German word for
- 7:53crazy or wild. Ah, Casey, what are you doing
- 7:58here? I was right in the middle of
- 8:00learning something great. Oh, I'm sorry, I hope it wasn't
- 8:05too important. Of course it was important.
- 8:09I almost had my Oreo taken apart without breaking the cookie.
- 8:15See what I mean? Is that a Bible?
- 8:18Not just any Bible, it's a Voki talkie.
- 8:24Walkie-talkie. Yes, when you don't know how to
- 8:29walkie, open it up and listen to God talkie.
- 8:35God's Word teaches us what is right and wrong.
- 8:38Yes, if you want to know God, you simply open the book and
- 8:44read it. As you read, listen with your
- 8:48heart and God will speak to you. So God speaks to us through his
- 8:53Word, the Bible. Yes, and who doesn't want to
- 8:58hear what God has to say? It reminds me of the time when
- 9:03Jesus was 12 years old. They were in Jerusalem and marry
- 9:09on Joseph. Couldn't find him anywhere.
- 9:12They looked for three days. Three days.
- 9:18That's how long I've been working on that Oreo cookie, you
- 9:22know, but that's another story. So on the third day, Mary and
- 9:28Joseph decided to look in the temple where everybody goes to
- 9:32learn about God. And do you know what they do to
- 9:37learn about God? Read the Bible.
- 9:42That's right, they open the Bible and read it and the
- 9:46walkie-talkie goes to work. God speaks to us in our heart
- 9:53and we keep it there so we always know how to walkie.
- 9:59I have hidden God's word in my heart.
- 10:02Psalm 1/19/11. That's good to know.
- 10:07Thanks, Professor. Not just any professor,
- 10:12Professor Fadzig. Oh.
- 10:16Where did I put that Oreo? Is your heart and mind ready to
- 10:21learn today's Bible verse? I'm ready.
- 10:25Heart, you're wearing a disguise too.
- 10:28Stacy thought I should. Whatever today's Bible verse is,
- 10:33Psalm 11911, I have hidden God's word in my heart.
- 10:38Say it with me kids, I have hidden God's word.
- 10:42I have hidden God's word. In my heart.
- 10:45In my heart. I want to hide God's word too.
- 10:49I know a really good hiding place.
- 10:52We're not hiding it like that, brain.
- 10:54Well then, why is Heart wearing a disguise?
- 10:57That's not important right now. What's important is Psalm 119.
- 11:01Eleven. Say it with me, kids.
- 11:03I have hidden God's word. I have hidden God's word.
- 11:07In my heart. In my heart.
- 11:10Why does heart get to hide it and not me?
- 11:13What Psalms 11911 I have hidden God's word in my heart.
- 11:20It's because sometimes. You.
- 11:22Forget things, brain, I do not. Do too settle down you two
- 11:29brain. We're not really hiding it,
- 11:31we're learning it. That's my job, learning God's
- 11:35Word, and when you learn God's Word, it gets inside of me, the.
- 11:39Heart. And when we learn it and it gets
- 11:42in our heart, the Holy Spirit can help us remember it.
- 11:46I want to be full of God's word. You're my heart and I want you
- 11:51to be full of God's Word. That's why I'm learning what it
- 11:54says. I have hidden God's word in my
- 11:57heart. Psalm 11911 I have hidden God's
- 12:02word in my heart and brain. Good job, brain.
- 12:07Thanks, Heart. Now it's time for today's Bible
- 12:11story. I can't wait to hear it and I
- 12:13can't wait to do it. It's the hearer and the doer.
- 12:18Of God's word, who's blessed? When Jesus was 12 years old, he
- 12:35walked to Jerusalem with his friends and family for the
- 12:38Passover celebration. It took five days to walk there.
- 12:42The celebration lasted for a week, and when it was over, they
- 12:46all headed back home. All except Jesus, Mary and
- 12:50Joseph thought Jesus was walking with his friends, but that night
- 12:53when they stopped to sleep, they realized he was missing.
- 12:57So Mary and Joseph walked back to Jerusalem to find him.
- 13:02Oh Joseph, where could Jesus be? It's been 3 days.
- 13:06I know, I've looked everywhere. How are we going to tell God we
- 13:10lost his only son? You don't think something bad
- 13:13happened to him, do you? He's fine.
- 13:16He's. God's Son.
- 13:17That's it. Did you look in the temple?
- 13:19The temple. Yes, the church.
- 13:22No, I haven't looked there. I've been to every playground in
- 13:25the city, but not the temple. There's just a bunch of old men
- 13:28talking about the Bible all day. Why would he be there?
- 13:32Because that is the one place he would learn about his Heavenly
- 13:35Father. He's 12.
- 13:36He's almost a man. I'll go look.
- 13:39Wait. Here.
- 13:40Of course I'll wait here. Excuse me, I'm looking for a 12
- 13:43year old boy that got left here 3 days ago.
- 13:46Have you seen anyone that looked like they were lost?
- 13:49No, no. Mama Jesus, where have you been?
- 13:54We've been looking everywhere for you for three days.
- 13:57I'm. Sorry mother, I thought you
- 13:59would know that I would be a church learning about God.
- 14:02I want to learn God's Word more than anything.
- 14:05We know that now. Next time, that will be the
- 14:07first place we look. There won't be a next time.
- 14:10The next time we come to Jerusalem, you will stay with
- 14:12us. When you want to go to the
- 14:14temple, we'll take you there ourselves.
- 14:16Yes, ma'am. Now come on, let's go home.
- 14:20Can we stop and eat first? I'm hungry.
- 14:23Me. Too, it's important to get God's
- 14:27word in our hearts. Even more important is getting
- 14:30Jesus in our heart. If you'd like to ask Jesus into
- 14:33your heart, I can pray with you right now.
- 14:36Dear God, dear God, thanks for sending Jesus.
- 14:40Thanks for sending. Jesus.
- 14:42To die for my sins To die for my sins.
- 14:47Jesus come into my heart. Jesus came into.
- 14:49My life. Be the boss of my life.
- 14:52Be. The boss of my.
- 14:54In Jesus name In Jesus name, Amen.
- 14:58Amen. Time for spiritual exercises.
- 15:02Everyone stand up on your feet. Here we go.
- 15:05You ready? Repeat after me.
- 15:08Stretch it up real high. I love the Lord.
- 15:12I love the Lord. With all my heart.
- 15:13With all my heart. Now show me your muscles.
- 15:18God is good. God is good.
- 15:21All the time. Time.
- 15:23All the. Time.
- 15:25I'm not afraid. I'm not afraid.
- 15:28God is with. Me.
- 15:29God. Is with me.
- 15:31Good, now show me your Superman pose.
- 15:35By Jesus stripes. By Jesus stripes.
- 15:37I am healed. I am healed.
- 15:40Nice work, now these are my favorite.
- 15:43Kinky. Push ups up down, up.
- 15:48I love others. I love others.
- 15:51Like Jesus loves me. Like Jesus loves me.
- 15:55That was a good workout. All right, let's cool it down.
- 15:59Let's stretch it out. I obey my parents.
- 16:04I obey my. Parents.
- 16:05For this pleases God for it. Pleases.
- 16:09God, good job kids. Now just shake it out.
- 16:11Shake it out. Turn around.
- 16:12If you want. Good job kids.
- 16:17I'm proud of. You all right now get this fish.
- 16:20When Jesus was a boy, he went to church to learn about himself.
- 16:26Why did Jesus have to learn about himself?
- 16:29Wow, fish, that's the same thing?
- 16:31I asked. God, man.
- 16:33So what's the answer? Why should I know I'm not God?
- 16:36Well, going to church is a good way to learn about Jesus.
- 16:40Right. You know, Mary and Joseph took
- 16:42Jesus every year to Jerusalem to celebrate God's goodness.
- 16:45They would have a feast with lots of tamales and enchiladas
- 16:48and tacos and all. Wait, they had Mexican food at
- 16:52the Jewish feast? Well, do you think they had
- 16:54fish? Food.
- 16:55Never mind. And they had mariachis and all
- 16:59kinds of music. What's a mariachi?
- 17:03Holy the band, you know mariachis.
- 17:06Oh, sorry, continue. Anyway, everybody was singing
- 17:11and dancing and worshipping God for all the good things he had
- 17:14done for them. Sounds like church.
- 17:16I know, right? Only it's not church, because
- 17:19Jesus sneaks away from the feast and goes to the church where
- 17:22they are teaching from God's Word, the Bible.
- 17:25Whoever heard of someone sneaking to church?
- 17:28I mean, usually people sneak off to do something bad.
- 17:31OK, maybe he didn't go sneaky, but when the feast was over,
- 17:34nobody knew where Jesus was. You know what that's like,
- 17:37right? Why would I?
- 17:38I know what that's like. You Remember, Remember your
- 17:41little boy got lost that time and ended up in Australia.
- 17:45How many times do I have to tell you that wasn't me?
- 17:48That was the clown fish? I'm not a clown fish, I'm a
- 17:52goldfish. Apples, I can't tell the
- 17:54difference. All you guys look the same to
- 17:56me. Just tell us what happened to
- 17:58Jesus. Well, after three days, they
- 18:01finally found him at the church. Three days.
- 18:06Right, three days at Disneyland. OK, hey, three days at a church.
- 18:10No, it's not about where. I can't imagine not knowing
- 18:14where my kids are for three days.
- 18:17Really. I mean, Australia is a long stop
- 18:21it. Well, the point is Jesus really
- 18:24wanted to learn God's Word. So what's the word for today?
- 18:27Fish. I'm not talking to you.
- 18:30OK, well, I guess we are done. The word for today is teachable,
- 18:35Mark 425 says. Whoever has a teachable heart
- 18:38will be given more understanding.
- 18:40Teachable. OK, so the matador is standing
- 18:44in the arena with a red Cape, but hiding in the red Cape is a
- 18:48sword. So when the bull comes charging
- 18:50at the matador, the matador steps aside and bulks the bull
- 18:54with a sword. And after a couple times, well,
- 18:56the bull don't charge too good. That's how you teach a bull.
- 19:00The point is, Jesus was teachable and we should be
- 19:03teachable too. Go to church.
- 19:06Learn God's word. You don't.
- 19:09Charge too good man. Really, Paco?
- 19:12You can hear and see more of Paco and the Fish telling
- 19:16stories about Jesus on your favorite podcast or video
- 19:19platform. Just search for Paco and the
- 19:23Fish. Casey, do you know what my
- 19:30favorite part of the clubhouse was today?
- 19:33Not really. What part did you like?
- 19:37He liked it when Grandpa caught you stealing Bibles and Stacey
- 19:41came out dressed like a secret agent to arrest you.
- 19:45Fuzzy, that is not what happened.
- 19:47I didn't steal any Bibles and Stacey was trying to hide God's
- 19:51word in her heart, but she used a big coat instead.
- 19:55Why does she want to hide God's word?
- 19:57We're not supposed to hide it, we're supposed to learn it.
- 20:00Didn't you learn anything today, Fuzzy?
- 20:03I learned that squirrels will like you if you act like a nut.
- 20:08That's not what we talked about, Fuzzy.
- 20:11Don't you remember the story we told about Jesus wanting to
- 20:14learn God's word? Do you?
- 20:15Mean Jesus went to church. He did go to church, but he also
- 20:20hid God's Word in his heart. What we can hide stuff in our
- 20:24heart like toys and Cheetos? No, we learn about God by
- 20:29learning His Word, the Bible. And when we learn God's word, it
- 20:34gets hidden inside of our heart so God can remind us of what it
- 20:37says so. Where do we put our toys and
- 20:40Cheetos? You need to ask your mom that
- 20:43question, Fuzzy. Now listen, I have hidden God's
- 20:46word in my heart. Psalm 11911.
- 20:50Can you say that Fuzzy? Hidden God's word in my heart.
- 20:54Psalm 1/19/11. Very good.
- 20:58Now say goodbye, Fuzzy. Goodbye, Fuzzy.
- 21:02Goodbye kids, see you next time at the Jesus and Me Clubhouse.
- 21:14See you back again at Casey's Clubhouse.
- 21:18It's the place we learn God's word.
- 21:21Till we meet again at Casey's Clubhouse, let's be doers of
- 21:26what we've heard.
