- 1:00Hey, y'all, welcome today's show. Today we're going to try to split
- 1:04the difference. Will be a little a little political and cultural, but we're
- 1:11also going to get theological and very much into Catholic tradition and doctrine. But
- 1:21I wanted to start with but what I wanted to start with is just reading
- 1:26you a little bit from the book Radio Replies, written in nineteen thirty eight.
- 1:32As I mentioned a couple of shows back, this is one of the
- 1:36best books on apologetics. It the three volumes. First one was published in
- 1:41nineteen thirty eight, and I think they ran through the sixties. Actually it
- 1:47was two priests in Australia, and I think they began by taking letters.
- 1:53Anyone could write in a question and they would answer it on the show.
- 1:57And they openly invited anti Catholics, Protestants, atheists, communists, three Masons,
- 2:04etc. To challenge them on any issue. Excellent, excellent. By
- 2:08the end of the show, I believe they were taking phone calls. Ten
- 2:12books published, all three volumes of this, and I think it's really great.
- 2:16The very first one has an introduction by let's see what was his title
- 2:22at this time, right, Reverend Monsenor Fulton J. Sheen DD. So
- 2:29anything that is endorsed by the Venerable and God willing soon to be should have
- 2:36been already Saint Fulton Sheen is well worth reading the Venerable Fulton Sheen. I'm
- 2:47sorely attempted to go ahead and call him Saint Fulton Sheen, but we have
- 2:53to wait until the Church officially says he's what beatified. And you know,
- 3:01the only reason he hasn't been, in my opinion, is because he was
- 3:05so vocally anti communist and opposed to liberalism. And our church established right now
- 3:10is so, you know, fairly socialist at the very least. But that's
- 3:15this show for another day. We've already talked about a lot about that,
- 3:17and we will surely talk about it again. I wish Pope said John Paul
- 3:23a Second or Pope Benedict had gone ahead and done that while they still had
- 3:30competent reins in their hands to govern and steer the church. But anyway,
- 3:38this is a great book, and I hope you'll pick it up. Now.
- 3:42What I don't want to do at all, it's just sit here and
- 3:46read, you know, pages or chapters from this book. I mean one
- 3:49I'm not trying to do an audio book. Two it would get pretty boring.
- 3:53And three, I mean that wouldn't be my show. I'd just be
- 3:55ripping someone else off. So but what I would like to do is maybe
- 4:00begin each show with two or three of their questions and answers, and it
- 4:06can spur some thought and some ideas. Maybe I'll talk on it a little
- 4:10bit. Maybe you want to send me an email and ask a question,
- 4:15maybe we'll spur something for you, or leave a comment on my show and
- 4:20I can answer. So, speaking of which, a great place to comment
- 4:28is the organization I've just recently become involved with in the past week. It's
- 4:31called Catholicism Rocks dot org. Originally they got in touch and said, basically,
- 4:39can you know can we post your podcast? We would be good for
- 4:42apologetics and I should sure, And they said, well, let's talk about
- 4:45things. And after the conversation, they said, would you consider being the
- 4:50moderator of our forums and taking on a few other responsibilities. And you know,
- 4:56I'm off. I'm stretched off with than honestly. Right now, I
- 5:00am writing two books simultaneously, I am doing articles from magazine that pays me.
- 5:05I'm doing weekly articles from busy o day plus renovating a house, trying
- 5:14to go fishing and be outside and gardening as much as I can and keep
- 5:17the yard cleaned up, and you know, just to pay the bills,
- 5:21which is difficult in these this day and time with Biden nomics as he calls
- 5:27it, which is like, what is that the world's biggest train wreck,
- 5:32the worst thing that's happened to us since Jimmy Carter. But I said,
- 5:36you know what, if God opens the door, I'm going to do it.
- 5:40So I am now moderating the forums, and I would like to invite
- 5:44you to come to Catholicism rocks dot org and participate. You can ask questions
- 5:48here, and by no means am I the only one that would be answering
- 5:53your questions. There's some great writers, there's priests that contribute something almost every
- 6:00day. They actually have a section called ask Father a Question. And these
- 6:05are really orthodox, devout traditional Catholics. Let me just kind of brag a
- 6:14little bit that so far, every one of them that I've met has an
- 6:17Irish last name, So hey, you know I have to endorse it.
- 6:21Aaron Gobra, right, and the guy that runs it is actually Irish he's,
- 6:27uh, what's his name, Sean Murphy? I believe, really interesting
- 6:30guy North Ireland. I think he said he was, you know. And
- 6:34so he's been debating and arguing with Protestants and really putting up with the the
- 6:42English bigotry against Catholicism his entire life. So he's he's he's good, good,
- 6:48good solid apologists. So quite an honor to be asked to contribute by
- 6:53someone like that. But let's get into that, and then we're going to
- 6:56get into something completely different. Where would you aren't with a book on Catholic
- 7:00apologetic as well? Let's start with question number one, right, someone wrote
- 7:06in please give me evidence that God exists. I have never had any such
- 7:11evidence, for I do not accept the Bible. Let me answer, what
- 7:15do you mean by evidence? Some people think that evidence must be seen and
- 7:18touched, as an animal sees a patch of grass and eats it. But
- 7:21men are not mere animals. They have reason and can appreciate intellectual evidence.
- 7:28For example, the evidence of beauty and music or in painting is perceived by
- 7:31a man's mind, not by his senses. An animal could hear the same
- 7:35sounds or see the same colors without being impressed by their harmony and proportion.
- 7:41Apart from the Bible, together reason can detect sufficient evidence to guarantee the existence
- 7:46of God. I'm going to start with this because it actually is going to
- 7:48tie into what we're gonna talk about next, sort of man God in nature.
- 7:54But let's continue it. Just there's one more question and then we'll get
- 7:57to the thrust of the show. What evidence for God's existence apart from the
- 8:03Bible, or what is this evidence for God's existence apart from the Bible?
- 8:07I miss the word it is I do that. Sometimes There are many indications,
- 8:11the chief of which I shall give you very briefly. The verse is
- 8:13from causality. The universe, limited in all its details, could not be
- 8:20its own cause it could no more come together with all its regulating laws than
- 8:24San Francisco Harbor Bridge could just happen, or a clock could assemble itself and
- 8:30keep perfect time without a clockmaker. On the same principle, if there were
- 8:33no God, there would be no you to dispute his existence. A second
- 8:37indication is drawn from the universal reasoning, or if you wish intuition of men,
- 8:43the universal judgment of mankind can no more be wrong in this vital point
- 8:46than the intuition of the infant that food must be conveyed to the mouth.
- 8:52They probably could say it more simply. Every single tribe of man, in
- 8:56every corner of the globe has had a religion. Atheism is very recent,
- 9:03very new. It comes through the Freemasons actually, as a as an ideology.
- 9:11Now, there have certainly been individuals that would have questioned the existence of
- 9:16God, but you cannot find a people that has ever exists, from the
- 9:20very first man to this day that did not acknowledge a deity. And whereas
- 9:26he says, as the infant craves food, there's a very strong theological concept.
- 9:35I guess you would say, I think there's a better word for that.
- 9:35But it's not coming to me that every lock necessitates a key. Right,
- 9:43if you have a lock, there's going to be a key to open
- 9:45that lock or to close that lock. Every universal need of man, whether
- 9:52it be food or water or shelter, necessitates that those things are exist.
- 10:01You cannot have hunger without the food to satisfy hunger without the existence of food.
- 10:05Anyway, you may not have food, but food exists, whether you
- 10:09have it or not. You cannot be thirsty without the existence of water.
- 10:16You every single human being, for you know, ten million years, every
- 10:22organized group of people, maybe not every individual, but every group of people.
- 10:28That said, we have an honor, we have an ethos we have
- 10:35an idea, we have a philosophy, we have an identity, has believed
- 10:41in and worshiped a deity. Therefore, as that universal need was put into
- 10:46the heart of all men, there must therefore exist the thing the object of
- 10:54you would say that would satisfy that need, which would be got. I
- 11:00think there are more convincing arguments. I'll get into that later, but that
- 11:03is one that is very valid. You know, every single person needs to
- 11:09be loved. How can you need to be loved if there was no such
- 11:13thing as love? Every single person wants to be accepted. How can you
- 11:18be accepted if there was no such thing as acceptance? You know, there
- 11:24couldn't be plants without that need, the sun without the sun to support the
- 11:30plants. You can put it into any context you wish. Every lock has
- 11:35a key. The stamp of God's handiwork is so clearly impressed upon creation and
- 11:41above all upon man, that all nations extinctively believe that there is a God.
- 11:46The truth is in possession. Men do not have to persuade themselves that
- 11:50there is a God. They have to try to persuade themselves that there is
- 11:54no God. And no one yet who has attained to such temporary persuasion has
- 12:00been able to find a valid reason for it. Men do not grow into
- 12:03the idea of God. They endeavor to grow out of it. The sense
- 12:07of moral obligation confirms to these reasons, and every man there's a sense of
- 12:11right and wrong. A man knows interiorly when he is doing wrong. Perhaps
- 12:16not the sociopath, But then again, maybe the sociopath does know he's doing
- 12:22wrong and he delights in it. I've known some sociopaths. They're that's something
- 12:33to think about. Do they actually have no concept of right or wrong?
- 12:35Or do they have the concept of right or wrong but see themselves as so
- 12:39superior to those around them, or so uncaring toward those around them that they
- 12:46actually enjoy doing wrong and hurting others. I don't know. I don't know.
- 12:54I have to think. I have to ponder on that. I am
- 12:56not a psychologist. Thank god. The school psychology and psychiatry and sociology have
- 13:03been one of the greatest forces for evil this world has ever known. They
- 13:07can They try to codify immorality in medical terms, so that no one can
- 13:13say it's right or wrong anyway. And I say that as someone whose mother
- 13:18is a psychologist who told me that she came to that same understanding. And
- 13:24we you know, she has no faith or confidence in anyone that hangs out
- 13:28a shingle with you know, psychology, psy psychiatry or sociology, etc.
- 13:35Attached to its anyway, something rebukes his conduct. He knows that he is
- 13:43going against the inward voice. It is the voice of conscience, dictating to
- 13:48us a law that we did not make, and which no man could have
- 13:52made. For this voice protests whether other men know our contact conduct or not.
- 13:56This voice is often quite against what we wish to do, warning us
- 14:00beforehand, condemning us after its violation. The law dictated by this voice of
- 14:05conscience suppose as a lawgiver who has written his law on our hearts, and
- 14:11as God alone could do this, it is certain that he exists. Finally,
- 14:16justice demands that there is a God. The very sense of justice among
- 14:20men resulting in law courts supposes a just God. We did not give selves
- 14:26a sense of justice. He comes from whoever made us, and no one
- 14:30can give what he does not possess himself. Yet justice cannot always be done
- 14:35by men in this world. Here the good often suffer and the wicked prosper.
- 14:39And even the human justice does not always succeed in balancing the scales.
- 14:46And even though human justice does not always succeed in balancing the skills, they
- 14:50will be balanced someday by a just God who certainly must exist. Those are
- 14:56all persuasive arguments, and the very you all in good arguments. I had
- 15:03a dear friend, actually a girlfriend some years ago who was Jewish, beautiful
- 15:09redhead from California, actually a psychiatrist, come to think of it, and
- 15:13she didn't have much faith in the system either. She thought it was a
- 15:16load of crap actually basically just medicating people and excusing people's problems away. Yeah.
- 15:24She was a really great person, very conservative. She was actually an
- 15:28iron Rand style libertarian. Her parents were atheists and she had been raised atheists,
- 15:33so the culturally Jewish. But a friend of hers in high school was
- 15:39Catholic and invited her to work on a paper on our Lady of Fatima,
- 15:46and in so doing, she became to believe. She came to believe very
- 15:52strongly that what she had been taught was wrong. There actually is a God,
- 15:56and that miracles actually take place, and she read the Bible and she
- 16:00became vaguely Christian. She said, one of our first conversations, she said,
- 16:08I believe in God. I believe in the God of Abraham. I
- 16:12believe that Jesus Christ is the Messiah. But I cannot believe any church that
- 16:21hasn't existed since the time of Christ. And I said, well, yeah,
- 16:26that's pretty valid. You know, this is why I converted Catholicism.
- 16:29She said, that's you know, that's really what I'm thinking too. But
- 16:32this is why it's difficult for me. You know, in my profession,
- 16:37if I would remain an atheist, I would be accepted. If I become
- 16:40a Christian, I'm going to have trouble in my family. If I were
- 16:45to become a religious Jew, I would be accepted. If I become a
- 16:48Christian, I'm going to be rejected. And among my friends and peers.
- 16:55She was later on, you know, she was maybe your thirties at this
- 16:57point, late twenties, and she said, among my friends and peers.
- 17:02I could be any of the above, or a Protestant, but they're never
- 17:06going to accept me as a Catholic. How can I kind of convince people
- 17:11that I'm not insane? And well, that's quite a question, isn't it,
- 17:17you know? And we started, We went through various things. We
- 17:22talked a lot about such things, and she said, well, first of
- 17:25all, I need to convince my parents that there is a God, her
- 17:29Jewish parents, very logical, intelligent people, that there is a God.
- 17:33And we talked about all kinds of different things, and when we came to
- 17:37really agree on was the concept concept of the reflective nature of the universe.
- 17:48Nothing exists on its own. When we think about this, from it,
- 17:52you're only here because your parents gave birth to you. They're only here because
- 17:56their grandparents gave birth to them. It's going back every generation. No life
- 18:04can exist on Earth without the sun. The Sun is composed of burning gases,
- 18:10none of which could have made themselves. When you get down to the
- 18:18very foundation of existence. In terms of physics, everything is energy. Energy
- 18:27essentially vibrating at different frequencies, comprises all matter, all elements, all gases,
- 18:33all the light and the heat, and the you know you name it
- 18:38is energy. Energy can neither be created nor destroyed, but nearly merely changes
- 18:45forms. All that is was created by something before it through the same energy,
- 18:53which can neither be created nor destroyed. Yet nothing can come into existence
- 19:00through its own volition. I mean, if you think about letup, it
- 19:04simply nothing. If there is something that we could call nothing, cannot create
- 19:10something. Therefore, there it has to be a force outside of the known
- 19:17laws that we know, space and time and all that that has no beginning
- 19:25and no end, that is the creator of all things. Otherwise, the
- 19:32energy that comprises all things could not have been created because it is so different
- 19:38in nature from anything that could create it. It cannot create itself. Therefore
- 19:47is incredibly different from whatever created it. Okay, then we know there's something
- 19:52very different than anything. Science can tell us that nothing, whatever that is,
- 19:57cannot be defined by the laws of science as we know it. Depending
- 20:03no matter what field do you look into something without a beginning in an end,
- 20:10something that's a creative force. Now, why would this something be a
- 20:12creative force? Obviously it needs nothing within itself because it has the fullness of
- 20:19everything. Another concept for another day. But that creative force is lacking in
- 20:26nothing. Therefore to create do not benefited anything, so it can only be
- 20:33done out of its own benevolence. That creator is the creator of order,
- 20:38order and harmony, because only order and harmony can create disorder. Disharmony turns
- 20:47into destruction and decay. Whatever that is has to therefore be benevolent and good
- 20:57all wise, because all knowledge comes from it, and essentially you've just defied
- 21:03God. It then remains to attribute to this God. It's nature to understand
- 21:17it, and you can see what the Creator is through his works. Any
- 21:22artists or sculptor can only create the image that's in his mind. Therefore,
- 21:29you can look at the work of an artists or sculpture, etc. And
- 21:33know a great deal about that person. The words that come out of your
- 21:37mouth tell another person who you are. Therefore, we can look at the
- 21:44creation and begin to understand the Creator vaguely, you know, as the saints
- 21:51would say, through a glass darkly. But then it comes down to how
- 21:59do we The Christian God is God, and that's through revelation. So that's
- 22:06where will pick up soon, because that revelation is what differentiates why one would
- 22:11be a Christian rather than a Jew, a Muslim, a Hindu, etc.
- 22:18But as Saint Paul said when he went to the Pagans, he said,
- 22:21you already have an altar through the unknown God. I am representative of
- 22:26that unknown God which you already perceive and do not yet understand. So moving
- 22:32on from that, and so it's wearing some very natural concepts here, which
- 22:36is where I'm very comfortable as a professional herbalist and a woodsman. Just the
- 22:41gospel I happened to be reading today, Jesus said in Matthew ten, no
- 22:48disciples above his teacher, No slave is above his master. It is enough
- 22:52for the disciple that he become like his teacher, for the slave that he
- 22:56become like his master. If they have called the master of the house be
- 23:00elsible, how much more those of his household. Therefore, do not be
- 23:06afraid of them. Nothing is concealed that will not be revealed, nor secret
- 23:10that will not be known. What I say to you in darkness, speak
- 23:12in the light what you hear, and whisper on the housetops. Will you
- 23:18hear whispered proclaim of the housetops. And do not be afraid of those who
- 23:21can kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather be afraid of the
- 23:25one who can destroy both body and soul. Soul in body in Gehenna,
- 23:30are not two sparrows sold for a small coin. Yet not one of them
- 23:33falls to the ground without your Father's knowledge. Even all the hairs of your
- 23:37head are counted. So do not be afraid. You are worth more than
- 23:41many sparrows. Everyone who acknowledges me before others, I will acknowledge before my
- 23:47heavenly Father. But whoever denies me before others, I would deny before my
- 23:51heavenly Father. Now there are many today who take offense of this gospel.
- 24:00The reason why make you surprise you in this gospel, and it's one I'm
- 24:07telling you that the pedo folks and the radical vegans and vegetarians have actually demanded
- 24:14to be stripped from the Bible. Yeah, I believe it or not.
- 24:18This is a matter of controversy in some circles. Not in my world,
- 24:22thank God, but in some circles. Jesus said that God values the lives
- 24:26of men more than sparrows. Wow, right, I mean it should be
- 24:30kind of obvious. But many in our era worship the creation over the Creator.
- 24:37They consider man a scourge upon the earth and nature, something that is
- 24:41wholly impure. They insist that we should not eat meat and should value animal
- 24:47life even over human life. Seriously, the pedo folks say that babies are
- 24:55not as valuable as puppies, much less sparrows or beatles. They see all
- 25:03humanity as a force of evil and destruction. They tell you you shouldn't eat
- 25:10meat in any way or any animal products. But Jesus actually warned that the
- 25:15commandment to abstain from meat would be the sign of false prophets. Those that
- 25:22are not Christian and those who are doing the work of the devil would be
- 25:26the ones who would tell people they shouldn't eat meat. Now, I don't
- 25:33think it's was being taught in our Catholic colleges these days, because they've talked
- 25:37with many Catholics who said they were taught in college that the most responsible thing
- 25:40they can do environmental and social justice and all that is to be a vegan.
- 25:45And I give them that passage and they get really angry. Well,
- 25:49they get really angry because if you don't eat enough animal fat and protein,
- 25:53your brain doesn't work properly. Look, the Bible teaches them the Church which
- 26:00is held and should I mean the Catechism still says that nature was made for
- 26:07man, and that man is the crown of creation, made in the image
- 26:11of God. Moreover, the redemption of nature of all creation can only come
- 26:18through the salvation of man through our Lord Jesus Christ, through the fall of
- 26:25Adam and Eve, sin and death in the world. Before then everything lived
- 26:29forever into that perfectly running clock. A dent was put in one of the
- 26:36gears, and sin brought death and sickness into the world. And since then
- 26:41animals have died, and men have died, and plants have died, and
- 26:44all that only through Jesus saving mankind and bringing us back to our originals state
- 26:53of well actually divinity. Probably need to explain that it probably sounds weird to
- 27:02say a human can be divined, but remember, when we receive the Eukraus,
- 27:07God comes to live within us. It is the divinizing power of the
- 27:11Euchurus that makes us holy. Only through the return to our original state of
- 27:18holiness in adoption through Jesus Christ to be the family of God and to be
- 27:23the body of Christ, can all of creation, every planet in the galaxy,
- 27:32in the universe. I should say every form of life go back to
- 27:36its original state before the fall, and that can only happen through man.
- 27:47You know, really, I mean this who vegan is worshiping nature thing.
- 27:51Yeah, it's pagan, it's neopagan, but it's also very modern. It's
- 27:56modernism, and it's directly in opposition to the Word of God and the teachings
- 28:00of the Church. Along with abortion, divorced homosexuality, pornography, greed,
- 28:06adultery, communism, of sexualism, etc. The world is in direct opposition
- 28:11to Christianity. Should that surprise us, No, absolutely not. Jesus said,
- 28:18no disciples, abos teacher, no slave of both of his master.
- 28:22They accused him of being possessed by demons, and he said, if they
- 28:27have called the master of the house beelsible, how much more of those of
- 28:30his household. Those who hold fast to the teaching of the Catholic Church and
- 28:36are not ashamed to identify as Christians will always be in opposition of this world.
- 28:40We'll lose friends, will be a strange from family, will lose jobs
- 28:44or be passed over for promotion, will be defamed, and we'll be hated.
- 28:47Jesus promised us that and as the Venerable Fulton Sheen said, soon God
- 28:53willing to be saint. If you want to find the true church, look
- 28:57for the one the world hates. But you know what we have of the
- 29:02promise is so much more he an eternal life, eternal joy, eternal truth.
- 29:06So I mean, the next time you're faced with a demand that you
- 29:07must deny God's teachings or his church and the name of tolerance and inclusion that's
- 29:14actually excludes the truth and is intolerant, ask yourself, you know, is
- 29:19this temporal acceptance really worth more than eternal life? I don't think so,
- 29:26absolutely not. But as far as this vegan Peter whatever lunacy, you know,
- 29:38if you want to eat meat or not, that's up to you.
- 29:41There is nothing in the Bible says you have to eat meat, and there's
- 29:45no Catholic Church teaching that says you have to eat meat. In fact,
- 29:48we abstain from meat on Fridays and during Lent. Well most of us don't
- 29:56abstain from meat for all of Lent, but just Friday's used to be all
- 30:00of land anyway, as a penance, we give up meat because our Lord
- 30:07gave up his flesh on Friday when he was crucified. You can give up
- 30:11meat for longer periods of time as a personal penance or a penance for another
- 30:18person, or you know, if I mean, I've heard people who have
- 30:22a very sick family member will do that as just to enhance their prayers,
- 30:27just to you know, encourage God to grant them a miracle. Essentially,
- 30:32Remember, it is a sin against the Holy Spirit to presume a miracle.
- 30:37But we can always hope for a miracle. A miracle is something beyond human
- 30:44ability and understanding. So we can hope. And you know, hope is
- 30:51what we're called to do, not presumption. But for someone to say that
- 30:56it is immoral to eat meat is in direct opposition to the word of God.
- 31:02God made creation for man, not man for creation, just as He
- 31:04made the Sabbath for man and not man for the Sabbath. And moreover,
- 31:10let me tell you, as a permaculture gardener, radical farmer, someone who's
- 31:15a total plant horticulture geek, veganism is a myth. It's a myth.
- 31:25They think they're not eating meat, they're not killing animals, and they consider
- 31:27themselves more and moral than the saints, more and moral than the hope more
- 31:33moral than the Catholic Church, or Jesus himself who ate Lamb at the Passover,
- 31:37who ate fish as his first action when he was resurrected, appeared to
- 31:41the apostles. Their morality is superior to that of God, that is idle
- 31:47worship in itself. But they're also completely mistaken. Vegans live on a lot
- 31:52of vegetables, less soy, a lot of corn, you know, having
- 31:55grown up a farm, having been there at harvest time and been there at
- 31:59planning. Okay, when you go in and you disc complole field, you
- 32:04kill everything on it. I mean billions just an acre. You're talking hundreds
- 32:07of billions of worms and insects and mice and all that. Okay, Then
- 32:13you plan it well in commercial agriculture, then things are sprayed down with insecticides,
- 32:17chemical fertilizers, fungusides. Again, you're killing billions of insects and rhodents
- 32:23and birds and even larger animals at this point, and then when harvest time
- 32:29comes through, it's an absolute bloodbath. Dead rabbits, dead birds, dead,
- 32:32I mean anything up to the size of raccoons. They're just going to
- 32:35get ground to a pulp to have that tofu on their plate has actually cost
- 32:44probably I'm going to say, ten thousand insect to mammal lives and birds and
- 32:51everything in between, not even mention like all the bacterial life forms, and
- 32:58I mean things they wouldn't even see or under stand, you know. Anyway,
- 33:02the microscopic life of the soil is is incredibly vast, and the farming
- 33:08practices from disking and tilling to chemicals and such just kills it off. I
- 33:14mean, so that little like you know, two ounce portion of tofu or
- 33:19tofurkey or not dogs has actually killed thousands of critters, thousands, tens of
- 33:25thousands. Meanwhile, you go get a steak and one cow died, one
- 33:31cow that's going to feed one hundred people, Okay, I mean think about
- 33:36it in proportion then, I mean there's the well after harvesting, the processing
- 33:42of the food, the trucking of the food, the package of the food,
- 33:45the processing of the food. Processing enough plant based food for one person
- 33:52to survive on is actually far more taxing to the environment and polluting than just
- 33:59killing a cow and cutting it into meat. A cow that can be raised
- 34:02on pasture and actually done a natural way, if someone cares to do it.
- 34:07Chickens can be raised humanely. Pigs can be raised humanely. Check out
- 34:10Joel Salatin. If you don't know about this stuff, jol s al Ati
- 34:15n He's great. I've written extensively on the subject. Just look into anything
- 34:20like that. Chicken tractors, you name it. Look at Springer Mountain Farms
- 34:23Chicken. They raise chickens in a humane way. Someone criticized me the other
- 34:27day because I was talking about cooking pork on one of my podcasts, and
- 34:31they would saying, oh, you know, pigs are not raised humanely and
- 34:34it's so bad. Actually, it's not bad for you at all. And
- 34:36you can certainly raise pigs humanely. My great grandfather did. The pigs lived
- 34:39in the woods and they ate mostly a natural diet. They lived a long,
- 34:44healthy life, and they ended up being artisanally crafted hams, and he
- 34:47lived to be almost one hundred years old. My great grandmother lived to be
- 34:51almost one hundred years old. Pork is actually quite healthy for you, more
- 34:55than likely, and this is kind of ironic. A lot of times vegans
- 35:00will point to Jewish dietary laws saying that you shouldn't eat pork or shellfish.
- 35:06They don't want to eat lobster. According to the Epistle of Barnabas, which
- 35:12is one of the earliest writings of the early Church, those were parables allegories,
- 35:17just the same as Jesus spoken parables, and the people didn't understand well.
- 35:22Barnabas at least believed that the meaning of that passage was not that a
- 35:27person shouldn't eat pork, but that they shouldn't associate with men who acted like
- 35:32pigs, and shouldn't act like pigs themselves. Put's a whole different spin on
- 35:38the way you might understand things and whether that's true or not. When Saint
- 35:43Peter was told by Jesus and given the vision that all foods were now clean,
- 35:50and there was all peoples were clean, there was no difference between Jews
- 35:52and gentiles. There was no difference between pork and beef. Okay, also
- 35:57quite nutritious if you get good heritage pork. We have a lot of wild
- 36:01pigs in North Carolina doing the opportunity. I would much rather wild pork.
- 36:07They're actually feral. They're brought here by the Spanish. They has got out
- 36:09anyway, long story, Absolutely no reason why shoot if you raise your own
- 36:16lobs, livestock you keep a few chickens in the backyard, you keep a
- 36:20couple of raise up a couple of piglets into you know, full grown sALS,
- 36:25and and take them butcher them yourself if you can, if not,
- 36:29hire somebody, far less environment mental impact, far less killing of animals,
- 36:35and a far healthier diet than anything of vegans going to eat, because it
- 36:39literally takes per season about one hundred acres of vegetable food to feed a couple
- 36:49of vegans, and that land is just soaked with chemicals, and I mean,
- 36:55honestly, on that many acres, millions of creatures are dyeing. I
- 36:59mean, vegan vegetarian so called food is absolutely soaked in blood and in humanity.
- 37:06If you want to think about a cruelty, whereas the diet that you
- 37:09know, God gave us, be stewards of the earth, raise up livestock,
- 37:15you know, be a shepherd. I mean he was a shepherd.
- 37:17That's the whole image. What do you think those sheep are being used for
- 37:21wool and meat and milk? Actually, yeah, if you think because you're
- 37:28a vegan or a vegetarian, you are more moral than someone who isn't,
- 37:32you're actually saying you're more moral than Jesus Christ, who ate lamb and mutton
- 37:38and fish, etc. And if you think you're more moral than God,
- 37:44well then you've just violated the commandment against worshiping faults gods. Thou shalt have
- 37:51no other gods before me. Anyway, y'all, I guess that about wraps
- 37:55it up. We've gone to from where the Steve Man always says, from
- 38:00the sublime to the less sublime. We've gone from discussing how will improves the
- 38:05existence of God to why one should eat meat. And trust me, the
- 38:13other thing about all those wells soy products have phyto estrogens in them, plant
- 38:19based estrogen like chemicals. So just most of the packaging on vegetable foods,
- 38:25corn syrups increased estrogen. We could go down the list. There's a reason
- 38:30we call a soy boy a soy boy. He's like a girly man.
- 38:34We could use a whole lot more John Wayne's in this world. And John
- 38:38Wayne liked his steak and his whiskey and his cigars. And there's nothing immoral
- 38:45about any of those, so long as they're not done to excess. Gluttony
- 38:49is always a sin anyway, y'all have a wonderful evening. I'll talk to
- 38:54you next time. Remember the words of Saint Padre Pio, pray, hope
- 38:59and don't worry.
