- 0:44This is the Eat More Carbs podcast.
- 0:51Hello and welcome back. This is the More Carbs podcast.
- 0:54It's Jenna here with Riley. We are both dietitians and we
- 0:56talk every Thursday about sports nutrition for the girlies.
- 0:59Specifically, we talk about period recovery, especially if
- 1:01you've lost it due to hypothalamic amenorrhea.
- 1:04On today's episode though, we are doing our what drives us
- 1:06bananas. So sharing a little bit about
- 1:08the things that we saw online or offline this week that really
- 1:11drove us bananas. These are some of my favorite
- 1:13episodes to do. But before we get into that, we
- 1:15are going to do our high and low.
- 1:16So sharing just a little bit about our week, the good and the
- 1:18part. We wish you gone a little bit
- 1:19differently. Riley, as always, can you kick
- 1:21us off? I love a what's drives us
- 1:23bananas episode, so that could technically be my high, but I do
- 1:26actually have something related to the podcast that is a high.
- 1:29My mother-in-law robs moms who also listens to the podcast.
- 1:33She taught Charlie the word podcast.
- 1:36I have this like little sign here that says like eat your
- 1:38carbs and she was like teaching Charlie.
- 1:40She's like this. This is your mom's podcast.
- 1:42Wait that's amazing. I love that shout out to her.
- 1:45Yeah, no, I love it. I just thought it was like the
- 1:47cutest thing. But Charles vocabulary is like
- 1:50girls crazy. But yeah, her new Word is
- 1:52podcast. That's incredible.
- 1:53I love that she probably learns quite a few new words, like in a
- 1:56day, right. Obviously I don't have kids, so
- 1:58I don't. I'm not really sure, yeah.
- 1:59I try not to like look too much at the developmental milestones,
- 2:03like I have a rough idea of them, but I try not to get too
- 2:05like caught up in them just because like it's so easy to get
- 2:08caught up in all that stuff. Like I mean, just like period
- 2:09recovery, right? The numbers and all that stuff.
- 2:11I think that was something that we were really working on as her
- 2:14speech and now she's I definitely think she's like
- 2:16doing good. We're pushing her and it's it's
- 2:18really cute because she goes to her nanny care during the day
- 2:21and then she'll come home and like she'll randomly point at
- 2:23something like say the word and I'm like, I've never said that
- 2:25word to you. But like, you know, she learned
- 2:27it from like one of the other little girls or something.
- 2:29Like the other day she walked into the bathroom and pointed
- 2:31out like we have a seashell. She goes shell and I was like
- 2:35OK. Yeah, you're right.
- 2:36Good job, girl. You go, girl.
- 2:38So that was my high, my low. I'm like debating if I wanted to
- 2:42run a marathon. I feel like it just depends on
- 2:45which week you ask me. But this week I'm like, OK, I
- 2:49literally just ran 12 miles and I'm not even halfway there.
- 2:52Those weeks during training are hard, yeah.
- 2:54It's just like so hot right now and so hilly.
- 2:57Especially where you are and humid too, yeah.
- 3:00I'm like, Oh my gosh, I'm gonna have to do this.
- 3:01I just think about like, you know, I run somewhere and it's
- 3:04like 12 miles. I'm like, I could run somewhere
- 3:0712 miles and I have to run 12 miles back and I still would not
- 3:10be done. The mental side of training for
- 3:12a marathon and thinking about the mileage is like half of
- 3:15training because you like can't start to do the mental math of
- 3:19when you've run like 18 miles and you're like, Oh my gosh,
- 3:22that part gets tricky. You know, it's it's ups and
- 3:24downs, like next week it's probably gonna be my high.
- 3:26So it just caught me on a bad week.
- 3:28I'm excited for next week then. Fingers crossed.
- 3:30How's your week going? My week.
- 3:32'S going really good. My high is related to an
- 3:35athlete. I shared this already on my
- 3:36Instagram. But she has been working so hard
- 3:39and so diligent about fueling appropriately.
- 3:41She's getting ready to run collegiately and she's actually
- 3:44put on a little bit of weight. And at first, she was really
- 3:46nervous about what that meant for her running and times and
- 3:49all that. And she had a huge breakthrough
- 3:51where she was able to run in a steady state that felt so
- 3:54comfortable. And she was like, I've never
- 3:55been able to run that fast for that long and feel so good.
- 4:01And she was like previously that pace would have felt more of
- 4:03like a tempo run and now it felt like such an easy pace for her
- 4:07to maintain. And so she's so excited about
- 4:09that. And I am just so proud of her.
- 4:11Like she has been working so hard and she has a great support
- 4:14system behind her with her family.
- 4:16But overall, just like huge shout out to her for kind of
- 4:19like really just taking on all of the feeling changes to make
- 4:22sure that she is adequately fueled and healthy and ready for
- 4:24her season as a collegiate runner.
- 4:27And just like want to give another shout out to her because
- 4:29it's definitely been hard work and she's doing so amazing.
- 4:33So that's my high is just celebrating that with her.
- 4:35Milo, this is so ridiculous. I spent like a good amount of
- 4:40time doing some yard work, doing some gardening, and it was like
- 4:44on a Sunday morning and the next day I woke up and I was so sore.
- 4:50Was it your back? It was my back and like my
- 4:52hamstrings a lot. And I think that's because I was
- 4:54like kind of been neglecting hamstring work because I've been
- 4:57recovering from a hamstring kind of strain previously.
- 5:00So I haven't been doing a lot of that like focused work on
- 5:03hamstring. So I think that probably
- 5:04contributed, but I definitely wasn't using proper form as far
- 5:08as like bending down to pick up with like my legs versus bending
- 5:11over and picking up like with my back.
- 5:13Don't. Don't do what I did.
- 5:15Do you regret buying a house at this point?
- 5:17At this point, yeah, for sure. I'm like, we do this to
- 5:20ourselves. I'm like yes I love having a
- 5:22house but then I'm like I literally pulled weeds for 8
- 5:25hours today. Yep, and I still am.
- 5:27Like how are there more? How are there still more we?
- 5:30Always grow back. So fast too.
- 5:32On today's episode though, we are talking about what drives us
- 5:35bananas. So sharing just a little bit
- 5:37about the things that we saw online or maybe offline that
- 5:40absolutely drove us bananas. We'd love to hear from you
- 5:43though, in the comments section what you saw this week that
- 5:45drove you bananas. Jenna I feel like since we
- 5:48started doing these episodes, there's just more more things
- 5:50that drive me bananas. It's just an ever growing list.
- 5:53I could do this episode every single week if I wanted to.
- 5:55I know, I know we talk all the time offline about a lot of
- 5:58these things, but it's 2025 like why are we seeing some of the
- 6:02stuff that we're seeing online? I.
- 6:03Don't know, but my gosh it drives me bananas.
- 6:06What? Of you bananas, what have you
- 6:08been seeing this week? OK, I think that because we talk
- 6:12quite a bit about like the what I eat in a day videos and things
- 6:15like that, my phone that listens into the conversation has been
- 6:19like showing me a lot more of that content on social media
- 6:22recently and it's always driven us bananas.
- 6:24We've talked multiple times about why those things are just
- 6:28for us. But specifically something has
- 6:31kind of changed with some of the ones that I have seen and maybe
- 6:34this trend has been going on for longer.
- 6:35But because typically I don't see these types of things or I
- 6:37try not to see these types of things, I haven't been aware
- 6:40that this change has occurred. But there's a trend for what I
- 6:43eat in a day as a girly who eats high protein, no processed foods
- 6:48or low processed foods, foods, gluten free, dairy free, refined
- 6:51sugar free. And then the individual will be
- 6:53like, I start every day with my colostrum and I am immediately
- 6:58like, OK, well why is that not processed food?
- 7:02Because that is a processed food.
- 7:04And then that's dairy. And for some reason that's OK to
- 7:07take. And you're going to have a ton
- 7:09of supplements that come in little packages that look like
- 7:12running goo that are supposedly going to help with some
- 7:16arbitrary thing. And for some reason, you have
- 7:18deemed those things appropriate for all of these rules that
- 7:22you've set up for why you eat the weight that you do.
- 7:25But those things are OK because you're getting a kickback from a
- 7:27supplement company for showing them in your video or for when
- 7:30people use your discount code. I'm not really sure.
- 7:33But why are those things OK in your What I Eat in a Day video
- 7:36at the very beginning when you just said you don't eat
- 7:38processed foods, you don't eat dairy, and then you immediately
- 7:41do those things. That's how you're starting your
- 7:43day. And then once you get through
- 7:44the bajillion intense supplements that you take that
- 7:46are supposedly not processed foods, you eat less than what a
- 7:49baby needs for the remainder of the day.
- 7:51It's 3 extraordinarily small meals that I don't even know how
- 7:55you could have the energy to function to make this video off
- 7:58of. The absurdity that these videos
- 8:00have become. Like I feel like they started
- 8:02and it was already like showing off like very low intake,
- 8:05showing ABS beforehand, things like that.
- 8:08But the amount that we have reduced fueling to in these
- 8:12videos is concerning to the point of like, are we doing it
- 8:15as a little bit of a jump scare of like this is how little I can
- 8:18actually function off of in a day?
- 8:19It's bananas. And I hate the wording of I
- 8:23don't eat any processed foods. I don't need any dairy.
- 8:25And then immediately we're doing colostrum.
- 8:27I know we've talked about colostrum before and that being
- 8:29one thing that drives us bananas.
- 8:30So I guess it's like the pairing together of the what I eat in
- 8:32the day, all of these food rules I set for myself that I don't
- 8:35actually follow, and then immediately doing colostrum like
- 8:38This is why. People are so confused about
- 8:40nutrition though, because what we've done is we just made it
- 8:43complicated because we have rules, but then we like break
- 8:45the rules for certain exceptions.
- 8:47And then you're like, I'm confused because we're not
- 8:49supposed to eat processed foods, but like, here's a supplement,
- 8:52here's a protein powder. And then you're like, I'm I'm
- 8:54confused on this. I also think too that these like
- 8:57what I eat in a day videos, they're like humble bragging,
- 8:59like look how much discipline I have.
- 9:01This is how little I eat and therefore this is what I look
- 9:04like. And like eating a little amount
- 9:06or like eating as little as possible is like not a flex.
- 9:09Like that's not something that I feel like we need to welcome or
- 9:13celebrate, I guess you could say in our society.
- 9:15And that's what we do. Like we never celebrate people
- 9:17for like getting their period back.
- 9:18I mean, we do, right? We're always jumping up and
- 9:20down. Like we're not like we're not
- 9:21celebrating like eating more or feeling our body properly.
- 9:24We're celebrating like small meals.
- 9:26Lack of intake. Yeah, how can we eat as little
- 9:29as possible? Like, come on.
- 9:32Guys, right. But really, it's so unusual that
- 9:34that's something that we almost look at and like praise and
- 9:37reward versus when you actually actually fuel your body
- 9:40appropriately. Why aren't we talking about and
- 9:42celebrating and encouraging females and female athletes to
- 9:46fuel appropriately? Why instead are we continuously
- 9:50showing and encouraging under fueling?
- 9:53I think This is why a lot of athletes really struggle when
- 9:56they compare their plates to others because a lot of the
- 9:59times they need more energy, they need more fuel, they need
- 10:01more food and society have glorified like minimal intake so
- 10:05they feel self-conscious because they are feeling properly or
- 10:09they have a plate full of food and those around them do not
- 10:12have the same intake because they also have different needs.
- 10:14They also might not have a great relationship with food and this
- 10:16becomes like really overwhelming and can be very triggering for
- 10:20an athlete, especially if you are on a period recovery
- 10:22journey. Oh, there are so many things
- 10:24that I think and feel about this for sure.
- 10:26One of the biggest ones is definitely that when you are on
- 10:29a period recovery journey, if you are comparing yourself or
- 10:32looking at the What I Eat in a Day videos and it makes you feel
- 10:35some type of way because you consume more energy than that
- 10:38person. The biggest thing is that we
- 10:40don't know what's going on in that person's life and we
- 10:42definitely cannot believe them when they show the What I Eat in
- 10:45a Day video as being truthful is that's the only things they ate
- 10:48that day or that's actually what was all that day.
- 10:50I mean, those could be 3 meals from three different days for
- 10:53all we know. It's just not what we need to do
- 10:54in order to promote our own recovery journey by watching
- 10:58someone else under fuel. A lot of the times too, these
- 11:01influencers and people who are sharing these videos, they
- 11:04themselves might not have a period.
- 11:06And I think that we often assume just by the way some looks how
- 11:10healthy they are. That's just not true because
- 11:12like, health doesn't have a look and we need to get over that.
- 11:15We've talked about this before, but if you're listening to this
- 11:18podcast, there's a chance that you don't have a period, you're
- 11:20working through period recovery or you know someone who's
- 11:22working through period recovery. And the unfortunate thing is
- 11:25that the symptom of under fueling that you might be
- 11:27experiencing is the loss of a period.
- 11:29But other people might still be under fueling and they just have
- 11:32other symptoms of under fueling. They just might not have the
- 11:35symptom of loss of a period. And it feels unfair that your
- 11:38symptom is losing your period, but that's a good way to look at
- 11:42it and say OK, even though my teammate might still have a
- 11:44period, they might still be under fueling, they just might
- 11:47not have the same symptom. We talked about this a lot in
- 11:49our episode about signs and symptoms that your period is
- 11:52coming back and just like again sign the symptoms of low energy
- 11:55availability. You just bring up such a good
- 11:56point down up because a loss of a period is not the only sign or
- 12:01symptom of under fueling. It is just one of the signs and
- 12:04symptoms of under fueling. It is sometimes the most obvious
- 12:07sign of under fueling. And we've talked about this in
- 12:10that same episode where unfortunately, maybe
- 12:12fortunately, it is a very obvious sign of under fueling.
- 12:15So you know that something needs to change in order to address
- 12:18under fueling. But for someone else who's still
- 12:20having a period, they might not be even realizing that that's
- 12:22impacting their bone health. And wouldn't you rather know
- 12:24that something is going on that's going to impact the
- 12:26health of your body for the long term and then be unaware of that
- 12:31for the entire time? So yes, it is hard.
- 12:33It is difficult for sure, but it's almost a sign that we can
- 12:37use as a very easy way to tell whether or not we are under
- 12:40fueling or not. Yeah, it's.
- 12:41Kind of like a blessing in disguise because it's something
- 12:43that shows us, like you said that we're under fueling and
- 12:47other symptoms might not be as. Obvious, and we never know what
- 12:50the other people might be experiencing for as far as
- 12:52symptoms or the relationship with food or their own struggles
- 12:55with food and food history. On the topic of kind of
- 12:58promoting this like lifestyle, right, that we look at online
- 13:01where we look at somebody else and we think, oh, if they're in
- 13:03a certain, you know, body or if they're eating a certain way,
- 13:06like they're happy. I think this is something that's
- 13:08like a common misconception because a lot of people, I think
- 13:11maybe it's not conscious. It could even be subconscious as
- 13:14you look at people online and think like, oh, if I had a body
- 13:16like her, then I would be happy. And I think it's really easy to
- 13:19put ourselves in other people's shoes and be like, oh, if I just
- 13:22did this like then I'd be happy. Then I'd be a better athlete,
- 13:25then I would be healthier. But again, like, we just really
- 13:28don't know what other people are going through.
- 13:29Oh, I'm glad you brought this up.
- 13:31I actually worked recently with an athlete and we've talked a
- 13:34lot about this, how she reduced her intake, her body changed and
- 13:38lost her period. Now she has regained a little
- 13:41bit of that lost mass. She has gotten her period back.
- 13:44She is feeling better. She is feeling better.
- 13:46And we've had so many conversations about how even
- 13:49though she received maybe more positive feedback or more
- 13:51attention for the way that her body looked when it was smaller,
- 13:54she wasn't any happier. In fact, she was way more
- 13:58unhappy at that point in time because she was missing out on
- 14:00social things, she was feeling underfueled all the time, she
- 14:04was Moody, she was unhappy like all of these things that were
- 14:07happening and she was like, it wasn't worth it.
- 14:08There was number point in time in which I felt like having a
- 14:12smaller body for that period of time made me happier, made me a
- 14:16better friend, made me a better sister, made me a better
- 14:18daughter or any of those things. I was just constantly unhappy
- 14:22and constantly worried about the way that I looked.
- 14:25And I think that all plays back into this kind of idea of it's
- 14:29not going to impact your happiness or how you feel or
- 14:32experience life. Isn't it crazy like how much
- 14:35happier you are when you feel your body?
- 14:36Like I've had some other conversations like this past
- 14:38month as well. It's something that I don't
- 14:40know, like if we advertised like if you get your period back,
- 14:43like you'd be happier. Like I don't think anybody would
- 14:45actually, like listen to us. But it really is crazy how like
- 14:49healing your relationship with food, being in a positive or
- 14:52maintenance energy balance can improve so many areas of your
- 14:55life. Like not just athletic
- 14:57performance. Right.
- 14:58And that's not to say that if you experience body changes
- 15:01during your period recovery journey that those aren't still
- 15:03really difficult as far as navigating like body changes are
- 15:06hard. Change is hard for sure.
- 15:08So definitely not to say that. But the end result getting to
- 15:10that other side of like feeling so much better, feeling like you
- 15:13have fueled your body and then performance improvements and all
- 15:16the things that come along with it.
- 15:17It's kind of the other side of it.
- 15:19So if you are in the middle or in the thick of period recovery
- 15:21and you're like, I do not feel any happier right now.
- 15:24It's valid to feel that way. We've seen it.
- 15:26We've been there with people. You've got you.
- 15:28Do got this. Oh, I love that.
- 15:30What about you? What is driving you bananas this
- 15:33week? I feel like we just ended on
- 15:34such a happy and positive note. I want to bring it back down
- 15:37with things that are driving me bananas because who, Jenna?
- 15:41I am furious. There's this company called
- 15:44Willow Health. I don't know if you've heard of
- 15:46it. I'm calling them out like.
- 15:48I actually think I've gotten maybe like a few ads on social
- 15:51media for this. So tell us a little bit more
- 15:54because I think I know what you're talking about, but I'm
- 15:55not sure. OK.
- 15:56I have not really clicked on the company because I've already
- 16:00seen the ads and I continued to get more and more of them
- 16:02because I commented on a couple of them because like.
- 16:04Oh, she was mad. I was so spicy.
- 16:07I was like, this is like the straw right now ago.
- 16:09Like, I was so spicy. Like, I never really comment on
- 16:12stuff. Like there's just like too many
- 16:13things out there to like, you just gotta, you know, focus on
- 16:15what you can't focus on, control what you can control.
- 16:18But some of these ads that I'm seeing from this company called
- 16:20Willow are not OK. They are not OK.
- 16:24And I know that there's a lot of other people in the space.
- 16:26There's a lot of other dietitians out there who are
- 16:28commenting on some of these and kind of bringing them up.
- 16:31The ads are these GOP one ads, which again, it goes back to the
- 16:35Y with GOP ones, right? They are appropriate for certain
- 16:38individuals. It's a discussion that you make
- 16:40with your physician. But Willow is coming for the
- 16:43girlies and I'm not OK with that.
- 16:45We talked about sports nutrition for the girlies here.
- 16:47You know, our stance on stuff. They aren't trying to go after
- 16:52insecurities that the girlies have and it's not OK.
- 16:55It is not OK. They're putting out ads.
- 16:58Makes me so mad. They're like on little cakes,
- 17:00like they're trying to be cute. And they're like, hey, girlies,
- 17:02Like you don't have to be obese to like, get on a GOP one.
- 17:05And they go, hey, girlies, the reason you got ghosted dot dot
- 17:09dot sign up for a GOP one. Are you kidding me?
- 17:13No, that's unreal. And the problem is, is now I
- 17:16keep getting all of them because I commented on them and it just
- 17:20makes me so mad. Like every time I go onto the
- 17:23Internet because they're trying to go after weight and how we
- 17:27look as females and saying that it's not good enough and not the
- 17:31reason that we're not happy. Kind of like what we just talked
- 17:33about or like that's why we're saying.
- 17:35That that's the reason why you would be desirable as a partner
- 17:38the way that you currently look that Oh, that.
- 17:40No, no, you're right. We did just go from a high high
- 17:43to a low low with that one. I cannot believe that that's the
- 17:45way that they would. I understand that it's a
- 17:47business at the same time, that is just so wrong in my opinion.
- 17:53What makes me even more upset, I think is there's a group of
- 17:57people sitting around a table and we talk about this all the
- 17:59time, especially with like a business boot camp clients and
- 18:02dietitians. But like you have to market to a
- 18:04certain population. They are sitting around a table
- 18:08and being like what are. Girls. 25 to 35.
- 18:12What are they insecure about and how can we mark it off of this?
- 18:16I cannot. Riley, I have so many thoughts
- 18:18on this. Immediately though, I think
- 18:20about how many times I have said on this podcast with a client
- 18:23like the way that you look is the least interesting thing
- 18:25about you. And now this company is saying
- 18:28the exact opposite thing, that the reason why someone would be
- 18:31interested in being your partner or being your friend or anything
- 18:34like that has everything to do with what your body looks like.
- 18:37And that if we just like look on it at a very, very like surface
- 18:41level is so false. And that's not just me saying
- 18:44that like no one is friends with you because of the way that you
- 18:46look. That is absolutely bananas.
- 18:49It is so understandable that anybody would see that and feel
- 18:52like that would be the reason why, especially if you are in a
- 18:55struggling place with like food and body, yeah.
- 18:58I know my daughter is only 18 month old and like she's not
- 19:01reading this stuff. I cannot imagine if she ever
- 19:03came across some of this content.
- 19:06Oh my gosh, Yeah. What have you commented back?
- 19:08Because now I'm curious. I think I.
- 19:09Just was like, this is completely inappropriate.
- 19:11I'm like, this is so inappropriate.
- 19:13Like we've seen thousands of athletes that have disordered
- 19:16eating because of comments like this.
- 19:18We have worked with athletes that have been told by coaches,
- 19:20male and female coaches that they aren't good enough because
- 19:23of the way that their body looks.
- 19:24I personally was told that I was not going to survive at the
- 19:27college locker level because of the way that I looked.
- 19:29Leave me alone. I'm going through puberty.
- 19:31Come on. I don't know if I've ever
- 19:32actually publicly shared this. I've definitely shared this with
- 19:35you off of line before, but when I first went to college, I
- 19:39didn't have the intention of studying nutrition through a lot
- 19:42of my own struggles that were going on through the time.
- 19:44Wanted to learn more about nutrition.
- 19:46But I think the tipping point for me for wanting to become a
- 19:49dietitian and learn specifically more about sports nutrition.
- 19:52I was working as a coach at the time with a field of other male
- 19:56coaches. I was one of the only many
- 19:58female coaches on the team and in front of everyone at
- 20:01practice, they were talking about the puberty changes that a
- 20:05female athlete was going through and how that was negatively
- 20:08impacting her performance in front of everyone.
- 20:11And I still to this day have a tremendous amount of guilt.
- 20:13But I didn't say anything at the time.
- 20:15Still weighs heavy on me that like I didn't speak up in that
- 20:17moment because I should have. That is why I do what I do.
- 20:20That is why we're so passionate about making sure that female
- 20:23athletes are fueled appropriately and we are not
- 20:25focusing on body image. And I feel like this just kind
- 20:27of. Into that and it just oh man,
- 20:29oh. Puberty is something that's
- 20:30going to happen. Like, see this all the time.
- 20:33It's like, oh, you know, when ghosts go through purity, they
- 20:35get slower. No.
- 20:36Why is this? A bad like why is puberty a bad
- 20:39thing? Why is it that when male
- 20:41athletes mature and they grow and they get taller, we're
- 20:44suddenly super excited, Running, swimming, where they're like,
- 20:46oh, you've got longer arms, you've got a longer reach now to
- 20:48hit the wall first. Same thing with a female
- 20:50athlete. When you go through puberty,
- 20:51you're going to grow, you're going to be taller.
- 20:53Why aren't we celebrating that? Why aren't we looking at it and
- 20:55being like this is great, Your body is progressing in a way
- 20:58that is notifying us that you're healthy.
- 21:01It's just got to stop. I'm thankful that there are
- 21:03people like you out in the world fighting the good fight and
- 21:05commenting on those things. And even if they delete your
- 21:07comment, maybe just one person saw it and realize that this is
- 21:10just marketing that's targeting the insecurities that we all
- 21:13have. It's not something that they
- 21:14need to listen to. So thanks for commenting and
- 21:17being vulnerable in that sense. Because a lot of times, like
- 21:19when, I don't know, I feel this way, but like commenting on
- 21:22things like you, you put a target on yourself sometimes
- 21:24when you comment on social media sometimes.
- 21:26So thanks for thanks for doing. I just couldn't let this one
- 21:29fly. It's not appropriate.
- 21:30None. It's not OK.
- 21:31I also don't like to call people out.
- 21:33I'm like y'all have got to stop. This is such a weird flashback
- 21:36moment, but when we were in the internship, there was a certain
- 21:39individual who still posts online misinformation about
- 21:44food. And it was something about Maple
- 21:46syrup. I can't remember the exact
- 21:48thing, but it was one of the only times that you commented
- 21:51back being like calling someone out online.
- 21:53And we were sitting in that little tiny closet at hospital
- 21:56and you're like, do I post it? Do I post this?
- 21:58And I was like, yes, you need to call them out.
- 22:00And we were like, so nervous about it.
- 22:02And this was years and years ago now.
- 22:03At this point in time, you were just sharing, like, a very kind
- 22:06opinion, but you were still, like, hesitant to even do that.
- 22:09So yeah, I can imagine that that's not something that felt
- 22:12like within your wheelhouse to call this company out.
- 22:15We're maturing, Denna, right, You're in PT.
- 22:17I tapered for my half. We're standing up for ourselves.
- 22:20Let's go. We're doing things.
- 22:22We have a lot of things that drive us bananas.
- 22:24So if there are things that drive you bananas that you have
- 22:26seen online, leave them in in the comments of this podcast.
