- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I almost famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:05Speaker 2: It's time for Bachelor headlines.
- 0:07Speaker 3: We are here breaking down everything relevant in Bachelor Nation.
- 0:10Speaker 3: The first one's a big announcement, one that we didn't
- 0:13Speaker 3: know would be coming, one that we honestly didn't expect
- 0:18Speaker 3: to happen at least this soon. But the Bachelor's in there,
- 0:22Speaker 3: kind of like second part of Golden Years, and well,
- 0:27Speaker 3: that throws me into the headline. They've announced that the
- 0:30Speaker 3: Golden Bachelorette will happen by the end of this year.
- 0:32Speaker 3: Ashley tell us everything.
- 0:35Speaker 4: It's happening in the fall. The leading lady will be
- 0:39Speaker 4: in her sixties or beyond. We don't know who it
- 0:43Speaker 4: is going to be.
- 0:43Speaker 2: Yes, isn't that what it's always been? Is that what
- 0:47Speaker 2: the show?
- 0:48Speaker 4: I guess what they're saying is that they're going to
- 0:50Speaker 4: continue with the theme of eighties and a sixties and older,
- 0:53Speaker 4: not eighties. That would be a whole different show, to
- 0:56Speaker 4: be honest, bring that one off.
- 1:00Speaker 2: I like them all, but it's always been sixties and older.
- 1:04Speaker 2: I think.
- 1:05Speaker 4: Yeah. The new cast will be announced at a later date.
- 1:10Speaker 4: This was one of their biggest successes as of late
- 1:14Speaker 4: the show, The Golden Bachelor, reached forty three point four
- 1:19Speaker 4: million total viewers after just thirty five days of it
- 1:23Speaker 4: on ABC and streaming platforms, and it ranks as the
- 1:26Speaker 4: number one new unscripted series this season amongst adults. So
- 1:31Speaker 4: of course they were going to do this again. We
- 1:33Speaker 4: were just waiting for the announcement, which Ben said, like,
- 1:35Speaker 4: we didn't know when it was going to be announced.
- 1:38Speaker 4: The unfortunate news that I do believe follows this is
- 1:41Speaker 4: that I don't think there will be a Bachelor in
- 1:44Speaker 4: Paradise this year. I think this is going to take
- 1:47Speaker 4: its place in the fall.
- 1:48Speaker 2: I think it's a fair assumption.
- 1:52Speaker 3: I think I think we've had enough rumors upon rumors
- 1:55Speaker 3: about what's going to happen to Paradise. And I do
- 1:58Speaker 3: agree with those that are experts that say it's never
- 2:02Speaker 3: a good idea to take a year off of a
- 2:03Speaker 3: show because we very rarely see it come back. So
- 2:07Speaker 3: I am concerned that maybe Paradise is uh is no longer.
- 2:12Speaker 4: Do they announce that, like, do they come out with
- 2:14Speaker 4: the announcement or they just like let it ghost out.
- 2:17Speaker 3: I feel like they're just gonna let the kind of
- 2:19Speaker 3: ghost out until it's the summertime and they go, yeah, yeah,
- 2:23Speaker 3: by the way, it's not happening.
- 2:25Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 2:26Speaker 3: I mean I think at this point we can probably
- 2:28Speaker 3: assume it's not happening.
- 2:29Speaker 4: Which is this like really sad for me? Okay, it's
- 2:32Speaker 4: like really sad.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Yeah, it's sad. I mean it's sad for me too.
- 2:37Speaker 3: I don't know how they're going to get people to
- 2:39Speaker 3: keep coming on this show if there's not a Paradise.
- 2:41Speaker 4: It's so weird. Jade and I were talking about that.
- 2:44Speaker 4: Could you just imagine, like could you I don't know.
- 2:47Speaker 4: I can't imagine signing up for the show and then
- 2:49Speaker 4: knowing that like, once my time there is done, it
- 2:51Speaker 4: is done for me. It was maybe that's like signing
- 2:55Speaker 4: up for the show, you're like, Okay, that's fine, of course,
- 2:58Speaker 4: that's you know, the way it used to be. But
- 3:00Speaker 4: it's when you make all the friends in production and
- 3:03Speaker 4: you have this amazing experience and you just want to
- 3:06Speaker 4: do it all over again. I was so happy to
- 3:09Speaker 4: know that Paradise was going to be an option for
- 3:12Speaker 4: me to just like kind of hang out with everyone again.
- 3:14Speaker 4: I didn't care about the TV element as much as
- 3:17Speaker 4: I did like just this community that you build well.
- 3:19Speaker 3: And I think there is still that thing that we've
- 3:22Speaker 3: really enjoyed over the years. I mean, Sidney's a great
- 3:23Speaker 3: example of this is it's usually a place for a
- 3:26Speaker 3: redemption story. It's a different environment, it's more comfortable, it
- 3:30Speaker 3: is kind of more laid back, and we usually see
- 3:34Speaker 3: people who feel misunderstood or just don't feel like the
- 3:38Speaker 3: Bachelor works for them. They get themselves twisted up into
- 3:41Speaker 3: a bad experience. Paradise is that redemption story, and that's
- 3:44Speaker 3: something it's been enjoyable to see over the years, and
- 3:47Speaker 3: we will see that right now. So who knows if
- 3:49Speaker 3: it comes back, who knows if it's still airing this year.
- 3:51Speaker 3: We don't know, But it's with them filming Golden Bachelorette
- 3:54Speaker 3: in the fall, it feels harder and harder for them
- 3:58Speaker 3: to turn a Paradise as well.
- 4:00Speaker 4: So, Ben, who's it going to be? Is it going
- 4:02Speaker 4: to be one of the ladies from Gary season?
- 4:04Speaker 2: I hope?
- 4:05Speaker 1: So?
- 4:06Speaker 2: I hope, So, I hope.
- 4:08Speaker 3: I mean, honestly, there's so many of them, I choose
- 4:11Speaker 3: any of them, honestly, from the Sanders to the Kathy's,
- 4:14Speaker 3: the Susans, to the Jones to I mean all of them.
- 4:19Speaker 2: I mean, honestly, I.
- 4:20Speaker 3: Can't think of one of those women that we watched
- 4:23Speaker 3: on television this year that wouldn't deserve or be really
- 4:26Speaker 3: incredible in this experience. Yeah, I agree, Yeah, that's that's
- 4:31Speaker 3: kind of my thought. Well, next headline is this. This
- 4:34Speaker 3: one got a lot of traction this week.
- 4:35Speaker 4: I don't find that it's all over my Instagram feed.
- 4:39Speaker 3: Yeah, people really care still, And it feels like Caitlin
- 4:43Speaker 3: Bristow makes our headlines every week, and it's usually about
- 4:47Speaker 3: stuff that I don't really understand why she's making a
- 4:49Speaker 3: headline about it, And this is one of those. It
- 4:51Speaker 3: says Bachelor Nations Kaitlin Bristow thought she was asexual after
- 4:57Speaker 3: end of a relationship. This according to E News Ashley,
- 5:03Speaker 3: I've listened to the interview.
- 5:05Speaker 2: Huh.
- 5:05Speaker 3: I'm still confused on why it's such a big deal,
- 5:10Speaker 3: But maybe you can help me.
- 5:11Speaker 4: And sex always makes headlines, sex sells. They're getting good
- 5:16Speaker 4: clicks on this, I'm sure now. I think the only
- 5:19Speaker 4: problem problem is like I think we have Sean and
- 5:23Speaker 4: Jason out there being like it wasn't me.
- 5:30Speaker 3: Right, I mean, at fair I'd buy that, dude.
- 5:35Speaker 4: Yeah, Well, here's a thing though, she because she doesn't
- 5:39Speaker 4: say what relationship it was, is it.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Be a secret decade ago?
- 5:42Speaker 1: Well?
- 5:42Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 5:42Speaker 3: And is it a secret that in relationships there's secrets
- 5:45Speaker 3: to keep the fire burning, meaning that five six, seven, ten, fifteen,
- 5:51Speaker 3: twenty forty years into relationship you have to work at
- 5:55Speaker 3: keeping things alive. That yeah, you know, when you first
- 5:59Speaker 3: start dating or you first get married, you know, your
- 6:03Speaker 3: uh like drive towards each other is a little bit
- 6:07Speaker 3: different than maybe what it looks like twenty years from
- 6:09Speaker 3: then or five years from then. So for me, I'm like, oh, yes,
- 6:14Speaker 3: like okay, you're in a relationship for a long time
- 6:16Speaker 3: and at the end of it you feel like I mean,
- 6:19Speaker 3: if anything, I'd ask Kaitlin, like, what are you doing
- 6:21Speaker 3: to keep that flame alive?
- 6:22Speaker 2: Maybe that's the way this is missing.
- 6:24Speaker 4: Let's say this. I feel like so many people out
- 6:28Speaker 4: there would think this about themselves, but Caitlin's the one
- 6:33Speaker 4: that says it out loud. After you've been in a relationship,
- 6:36Speaker 4: especially if it's not going well.
- 6:38Speaker 3: Well, I just think her word asexual might have been
- 6:41Speaker 3: the kind of the point here that people are like.
- 6:44Speaker 5: That's actually I mean, like okay, fine, that she said, Hey,
- 6:46Speaker 5: my sex drive has driveway decreased as I've been longer,
- 6:50Speaker 5: and as I've been longer in relationships, we'd all go yeah, okay, yeah.
- 6:54Speaker 4: But you know that's just like Caitlyn and like she
- 6:57Speaker 4: worded that the way that I would like word. It's
- 6:59Speaker 4: kind of just like you're chatting with your girlfriend. She's like,
- 7:02Speaker 4: I was like feeling asexual.
- 7:03Speaker 3: Sure, I'm saying she did an'ything wrong here. I'm just
- 7:06Speaker 3: confused on why it was all over my Instagram this week,
- 7:08Speaker 3: Like why were people so shocked that.
- 7:11Speaker 4: It's because she said the word asexual and it's sex Okay.
- 7:15Speaker 4: So anyway, she said she thought.
- 7:16Speaker 2: She was she was asexual.
- 7:19Speaker 4: After this relationship was like coming to an end. She
- 7:23Speaker 4: said at this point that she was at I couldn't
- 7:26Speaker 4: have seen myself more with a woman. I actually thought
- 7:28Speaker 4: that than a man, because I get it. I think
- 7:31Speaker 4: women are hot and I could do that, and I
- 7:34Speaker 4: was like, I guess this is it, and then I
- 7:37Speaker 4: was fine with it. She also said that she felt
- 7:41Speaker 4: the urge to explore a romance with a man again
- 7:45Speaker 4: after going on a few dates. She was like, oh,
- 7:47Speaker 4: I'd like to hook up, and she was like oh,
- 7:49Speaker 4: I would like to hook up like p and the
- 7:51Speaker 4: V And that made her realize that she wasn't a
- 7:54Speaker 4: desert down there. This was all in a podcast that
- 7:57Speaker 4: she did with Stoss Schredder.
- 7:59Speaker 3: Caitlin is very seasoned in media, right. She's been a
- 8:05Speaker 3: part of the show for a long time. She's been
- 8:07Speaker 3: a part of a lot of shows. She's a star
- 8:09Speaker 3: from the show. She knew, there's no question in my mind,
- 8:13Speaker 3: she knew that when she said I could see myself
- 8:15Speaker 3: with a woman, that this wasn't going to cause a headline.
- 8:18Speaker 3: Oh yeah, She's not sitting there being like nobody's ever
- 8:21Speaker 3: going to talk about this. Yeah, so this feels like okay, great,
- 8:25Speaker 3: like totally good. Understand what she's saying. She's not saying
- 8:30Speaker 3: anything that crazy, and she knew exactly that this was
- 8:34Speaker 3: going to be a story, and look we're talking about
- 8:39Speaker 3: it now. Well, speaking of stories, another big one this
- 8:51Speaker 3: week in Bachelor Nation. It's from The Golden Bachelor, Kathy Schwartz,
- 8:56Speaker 3: friend of the podcast, been a part of this podcast
- 8:58Speaker 3: multiple times. No Hour is just what this in Monterey.
- 9:03Speaker 3: She dodges questions about askn Drama blameskin, Well, yeah, so.
- 9:10Speaker 4: That's their acronym for their friend group.
- 9:12Speaker 3: Sure, that's great. Blame's natural selection. This, according to US Weekly,
- 9:18Speaker 3: doesn't really feel like she dodged the question. It feels
- 9:20Speaker 3: like she answered it.
- 9:21Speaker 4: She sure did so. Askin is the friend group that
- 9:27Speaker 4: she has with Nancy and Susan and April together. Their
- 9:32Speaker 4: first initial comes up with askin and they were like
- 9:35Speaker 4: their own little like friend click and something happened. There's
- 9:39Speaker 4: a falling out with April. So she said this. These
- 9:43Speaker 4: are the quotes. We were a group of fearless women
- 9:47Speaker 4: who took this on. And the fact remains, we're all women.
- 9:52Speaker 4: This is what she said on our podcast, by the way,
- 9:55Speaker 4: and she goes, as time goes on, you know people better,
- 9:58Speaker 4: and I think that it's just an natural part of life.
- 10:01Speaker 4: And I can honestly say that I'm friends with everyone
- 10:03Speaker 4: from the show. If there's someone particularly you're asking me
- 10:06Speaker 4: about Ben what.
- 10:08Speaker 2: This is like from our show, I know this was
- 10:10Speaker 2: me last week with her.
- 10:12Speaker 4: So wise, So can you explain this? Had she said
- 10:18Speaker 4: anything further from this?
- 10:20Speaker 3: No, Again, she's really good at media too. I tried
- 10:24Speaker 3: to get it out of her. But at the same time,
- 10:27Speaker 3: there is this, Uh, it wasn't a secret. I guess
- 10:30Speaker 3: to anybody there that there was drama going on on
- 10:34Speaker 3: social media with April. She had April definitely said things
- 10:39Speaker 3: or posted something. Hannah can speak to a little bit
- 10:42Speaker 3: more because Hanna and I had talked about it before
- 10:45Speaker 3: I sat down with Kathy. Hannah, what was happening on
- 10:48Speaker 3: social media?
- 10:49Speaker 4: Produce Hannah, and can I just butt into here for
- 10:52Speaker 4: a second. I thought we were trying to get Kathy
- 10:55Speaker 4: back on the podcast to talk about this, but you
- 10:57Speaker 4: guys aren't already talked about the drama again.
- 10:59Speaker 2: I'll explain it everything here in a sucse.
- 11:00Speaker 4: Okay, thank you, I'll not get on here.
- 11:03Speaker 3: Yeah, what was the drama with April and the asking
- 11:08Speaker 3: ladies that we never fully got an answer to? But
- 11:12Speaker 3: it was one of the prep things that you and
- 11:14Speaker 3: I had talked about before I sat out there.
- 11:16Speaker 4: Okay, right, Yeah, there was drama about the whole trip
- 11:20Speaker 4: that they show to Saint Martin. Somebody, for some reason,
- 11:23Speaker 4: April didn't go to Saint Martin, right, And she is
- 11:27Speaker 4: like saying on social media that, like, sorry, I have
- 11:29Speaker 4: a life, I have a job, I have to make money,
- 11:31Speaker 4: I have to like make my grandchildren a priority. And
- 11:35Speaker 4: then and then she also kind of added it and like,
- 11:40Speaker 4: maybe I don't want to hang out with it everyone
- 11:43Speaker 4: I don't know everyone.
- 11:45Speaker 3: It was like it was kind of undertoned. It was undertoned,
- 11:49Speaker 3: kind of jabs at these women for going on this trip,
- 11:53Speaker 3: even though April was invited. And so when Kathy was
- 11:56Speaker 3: in Monterey and we sat down for the interview, it
- 11:59Speaker 3: was something I wanted to talk about, but it's also
- 12:02Speaker 3: one of those issues that I don't want to talk
- 12:06Speaker 3: about if Kathy isn't comfortable talking about it, meaning I'm
- 12:09Speaker 3: not gonna.
- 12:10Speaker 4: Show Kathy's timfortable talking about all of it.
- 12:13Speaker 2: It didn't feel like it.
- 12:14Speaker 3: So I laid the question out there as you read
- 12:16Speaker 3: in this you know, kind of break down, and she
- 12:19Speaker 3: kind of dodged around it, and it wasn't worth me
- 12:22Speaker 3: digging into being like, yeah, but tell me. Honestly, because
- 12:25Speaker 3: Kathy's a friend of the show, I want to respect
- 12:28Speaker 3: her for giving us the time to even sit down
- 12:30Speaker 3: with her. And I think she said enough, right, she
- 12:32Speaker 3: said enough to make it make sense. Hey, natural selection
- 12:35Speaker 3: or hey, you know what, we hang out with the
- 12:37Speaker 3: people we want to hang out with, things happen, So
- 12:40Speaker 3: I think we can pretty much tie those two things together,
- 12:43Speaker 3: where April is upset and the ladies are saying, you know,
- 12:48Speaker 3: sorry about.
- 12:49Speaker 2: You, and they'll all move on just fine.
- 12:52Speaker 3: I just didn't want to dig in and ask, you know,
- 12:55Speaker 3: more pointed direct questions. If Kathy wasn't willing to share stuff,
- 13:02Speaker 3: she had the opportunity. She easily could have been like,
- 13:04Speaker 3: you know what, yeah, this is what's happening, and these
- 13:07Speaker 3: girls are mean.
- 13:07Speaker 2: She didn't want to talk about it.
- 13:08Speaker 3: She didn't even tell me she didn't want to talk
- 13:09Speaker 3: about it, but we got enough to say, hey, you
- 13:13Speaker 3: know what, these other girls are fine, they're doing great.
- 13:16Speaker 2: Whatever is happening with April.
- 13:17Speaker 3: April is kind of sharing about it on her social media,
- 13:21Speaker 3: so there is a rift in the asking group. It's
- 13:24Speaker 3: now just skin and I think all of them will
- 13:27Speaker 3: move on, probably in any given direction. It is unfortunate
- 13:32Speaker 3: because you would love to see these golden ladies just
- 13:34Speaker 3: be really close friends forever. But life is life, and
- 13:37Speaker 3: no matter how old you are, things happen, and I
- 13:41Speaker 3: don't love that things are being shared. Like again, it
- 13:45Speaker 3: feels a little bit like the lay conversation this week,
- 13:48Speaker 3: where it's like I want to make my grandkids a priority,
- 13:51Speaker 3: and it's like, so you're assuming that these other women don't, well,
- 13:54Speaker 3: how do you know that? Are they not allowed to
- 13:56Speaker 3: take a trip for a week away or like, so, yeah,
- 14:01Speaker 3: it's very passive aggressive.
- 14:03Speaker 4: Well here's the passive aggressive line here. So she said
- 14:07Speaker 4: on Instagram before she did the whole thing where I like,
- 14:11Speaker 4: I just said, like I have to pay for a
- 14:12Speaker 4: leak in my roof, I have to visit my grandkid.
- 14:14Speaker 4: I have to go, you know, go to work. She
- 14:17Speaker 4: introed all that by saying, for all the folks from
- 14:21Speaker 4: Texas and Pennsylvania that are daunting me about why I'm
- 14:26Speaker 4: not going to Saint Martin, although it's none of your business,
- 14:30Speaker 4: there are only three people who I knew I canceled,
- 14:35Speaker 4: who knew I canceled. But karma never sleeps. That's the
- 14:39Speaker 4: shady part.
- 14:40Speaker 3: It just it feels again, it feels like so many
- 14:43Speaker 3: storylines that we're covering right now in Vachination.
- 14:45Speaker 2: It feels like something said that you have no context
- 14:48Speaker 2: for it. It doesn't really need to be a thing.
- 14:49Speaker 3: But I'm assuming we will get Kathy back on here
- 14:53Speaker 3: to maybe talk about it further. Once this, you know,
- 14:56Speaker 3: kind of smoke settles and everybody's moving on. But right now,
- 15:00Speaker 3: well almost Samos does have the exclusive interview with Kathy.
- 15:03Speaker 3: You can go back and listen to it. Actually, it's
- 15:04Speaker 3: a great interview. This is just a small piece of it.
- 15:07Speaker 3: And Kathy says, what as much as she wanted to
- 15:10Speaker 3: share without making this a bigger story, and there's wisdom
- 15:13Speaker 3: in that, right, can't we I mean, from this Bachelor
- 15:17Speaker 3: season alone, can't we all agree that there's wisdom and
- 15:21Speaker 3: sharing just enough to not make it a bigger issue
- 15:23Speaker 3: than it needs to be. Yes, Okay, Hey, that's all
- 15:28Speaker 3: the headlines we have for you today. Again, it's a
- 15:31Speaker 3: two part week with the Bachelor. We will be breaking
- 15:34Speaker 3: down both episodes. Bachelor episode four is out, episode five
- 15:38Speaker 3: will be out. Obviously, we have headlines. So much happening
- 15:41Speaker 3: in Bachelor Nation, and the headlines won't ever stop. I
- 15:45Speaker 3: have a feeling, you know, it's wintertime. People start acting
- 15:48Speaker 3: crazy in the winter. We'll get more headlines next week.
- 15:50Speaker 3: We'll be talking about all of this good stuff. Anyways, Hey,
- 15:54Speaker 3: until next time, I've been Ben, I've been Ashley.
- 15:56Speaker 2: See ya.
