- 0:17Speaker 1: Great, great, great team effort today.
- 0:19Speaker 2: I'm so proud of you guys for the way.
- 0:21Speaker 1: For listen, these are not.
- 0:23Speaker 3: Easy ten days, not easy ten days being away all
- 0:26Speaker 3: that kind of stuff. But you handle these these ten days,
- 0:29Speaker 3: these two ball games.
- 0:29Speaker 1: With class number one.
- 0:31Speaker 3: And we came over here and we said we wanted
- 0:33Speaker 3: to be not only one and oh, but two and oh.
- 0:35Speaker 1: And we're two and oh going back to the US
- 0:37Speaker 1: right out, right out.
- 0:44Speaker 3: I mean a lot of things we could talk about defense, obviously,
- 0:46Speaker 3: that first half was tremendous offense, the way to go
- 0:48Speaker 3: down ninety three or two yard drive ten whatever.
- 0:51Speaker 1: You get my stob right there, I tell you what
- 0:54Speaker 1: I'm telling you. I'm telling you.
- 0:56Speaker 3: I'm telling you that's the straight you strengthen numbers. Man
- 0:59Speaker 3: strengthen numbers. Right when someone is not feeling their best,
- 1:02Speaker 3: somebody else rallies and the team rallies around them. That's
- 1:05Speaker 3: what you did today. And that's what you did, all right.
- 1:08Speaker 3: My hat is off to you, guys.
- 1:09Speaker 1: I'm so proud.
- 1:10Speaker 2: Congratulations.
- 1:11Speaker 1: This ride's gonna be sweet.
- 1:20Speaker 3: There we go one, two, three, and that's only two though,
- 1:26Speaker 3: that's only two.
- 1:26Speaker 2: We gotta do this every week, every week. Great John fellows,
- 1:29Speaker 2: let's enjoy this flice Jackson three one two three.
- 1:35Speaker 4: Welcome to jag Zam this Wednesday, presented by Jet Home Loans,
- 1:38Speaker 4: Kai Nannie Stevens, Ryan Sexton.
- 1:40Speaker 1: John Ozier.
- 1:41Speaker 4: We are back in studio. We're all happy to be
- 1:43Speaker 4: back home after a couple of weeks in England and
- 1:45Speaker 4: coming back to and l feels pretty good.
- 1:47Speaker 1: Brian. Yeah, I'll tell you what.
- 1:48Speaker 5: Uh, the mood on the plane, the mood of the
- 1:51Speaker 5: franchise at one and two, coming off that really bad
- 1:55Speaker 5: loss to the Texans. You know, I won't to say
- 1:58Speaker 5: Cloud went within London, but they didn't feel really good.
- 2:01Speaker 5: And to have the absolute reverse come back with them,
- 2:05Speaker 5: the sunshine, even though it was dark weight, came back.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Uh.
- 2:07Speaker 5: It's It's a good way to get ready for an
- 2:09Speaker 5: important game on Sunday against the Colts.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:11Speaker 6: Doug was asked after the game about uh pumping his
- 2:14Speaker 6: fists to the crowd and he said, I if we
- 2:16Speaker 6: win like that, I always pump my fist. He should
- 2:19Speaker 6: to me, it's the best win he's had here.
- 2:21Speaker 1: It was a good one.
- 2:22Speaker 4: I know we would have been excited to split that
- 2:23Speaker 4: series one and one, but we come back to and O.
- 2:25Speaker 4: So things are good here, so right for our big
- 2:27Speaker 4: things this week, and big thing number one is cheers,
- 2:30Speaker 4: because it was a pretty good trip over the pond,
- 2:32Speaker 4: obviously coming back with two wins. Now they're three and two.
- 2:35Speaker 4: Josh Allen talked about what the team was able to
- 2:36Speaker 4: get done and what they're looking like now.
- 2:40Speaker 6: This was a complete win.
- 2:42Speaker 7: You know, the offensively, defensively, special teams. You know, NFL
- 2:47Speaker 7: is a week the week basis, you know, you n
- 2:49Speaker 7: you never know what to expect. Heck, we didn't expect
- 2:52Speaker 7: to lose to the Texans, but we didn't prepare the
- 2:55Speaker 7: right way, and those are the out comes up what happened.
- 2:58Speaker 7: When you prepare the right way, when you have the mindset,
- 3:01Speaker 7: when you have the confidence going into each game that
- 3:03Speaker 7: you can dominate each matchup, you play with a cent
- 3:06Speaker 7: of slagger, and today we had that slag offensively, defensive,
- 3:09Speaker 7: special teams. And kudos to everybody, the coaching staff as
- 3:12Speaker 7: well for not losing their cool. Everybody keeping sane and
- 3:16Speaker 7: just knowing that we're gonna win this game.
- 3:18Speaker 2: But we all got to stay in it.
- 3:20Speaker 1: John.
- 3:21Speaker 4: It was a big win because of the opponent they beat,
- 3:23Speaker 4: but also because of the way they did it, because
- 3:25Speaker 4: it was a full team effort and we saw everybody
- 3:26Speaker 4: kind of doing what they needed to do well.
- 3:29Speaker 6: I thought, I haven't asked Doug this, but that felt
- 3:35Speaker 6: like sort of an old NFC East type game, if
- 3:39Speaker 6: you will. They had to fight for it, they had
- 3:42Speaker 6: to scrap for it. I've said multiple times since that game.
- 3:45Speaker 6: I thought the most impressive thing was that I didn't
- 3:49Speaker 6: think they played great in spots. They gave away a
- 3:52Speaker 6: lot of points. The defense I thought played great, I
- 3:57Speaker 6: mean wrong, but offensively you had four to seventy four
- 3:59Speaker 6: of it, you know, mistakes, fumbles and yet leaving things
- 4:06Speaker 6: on the field, they still won. And then in crunch time,
- 4:09Speaker 6: the last seventeen minutes of that game, or so, a
- 4:12Speaker 6: seventeen yard I mean a seventeen play driver you get nothing,
- 4:15Speaker 6: and then two drives where you stick it down their throat.
- 4:18Speaker 1: And if you had.
- 4:19Speaker 6: Told me last Wednesday they were going to stick it
- 4:21Speaker 6: down the Bill's throat in the fourth quarter, I told
- 4:23Speaker 6: you were nuts.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Well that was the most that they could do it.
- 4:25Speaker 6: And so I thought it was a game where they
- 4:28Speaker 6: enforced their will and they won a street fight against
- 4:33Speaker 6: a really good team. And again I think it's whatever
- 4:38Speaker 6: the comebacks were late last season.
- 4:40Speaker 1: To me, it was the best win Dougs had here.
- 4:41Speaker 5: Well, they had an answer, right, I mean, and previous
- 4:43Speaker 5: Jaguars teams would not have had an answer in the
- 4:46Speaker 5: fourth quarter. And yet every time second half starting forward,
- 4:49Speaker 5: as the Bills seemed to be getting momentum, kai the
- 4:52Speaker 5: Jaguars were able to take it off their seven eight
- 4:55Speaker 5: They're seven.
- 4:55Speaker 1: They never got pin deep.
- 4:57Speaker 5: There wasn't a turnover deep in their own territory that
- 5:00Speaker 5: lipped the field. And then as we saw the two
- 5:02Speaker 5: touchdown drives with Travy Ctn topping it off, you mentioned
- 5:06Speaker 5: an old AFC or part of the NFC East type feel.
- 5:10Speaker 5: I didn't think the Jaguars offensive line played that well. Now,
- 5:13Speaker 5: part of it was they had to shuffle things when
- 5:14Speaker 5: Walker Little went down, and part of it is the
- 5:16Speaker 5: fact that the Bills defensive line is really good. Oliver
- 5:20Speaker 5: is a hugely disruptive force and gave everybody problems, and
- 5:24Speaker 5: yet he didn't win the game.
- 5:27Speaker 6: I guess what I meant. I certainly didn't mean the
- 5:30Speaker 6: defensive line dominated. But again, the answer part the fact
- 5:36Speaker 6: that it felt like a fight. Then no matter what happened.
- 5:39Speaker 6: They were going to figure out a way. It felt
- 5:41Speaker 6: like a postseason game in that sense where somebody's the postseason.
- 5:44Speaker 6: He got injuries, he got things going nuts, and you
- 5:47Speaker 6: just figure out a way to make a play to win.
- 5:50Speaker 6: They won big games last year, but that's the best
- 5:53Speaker 6: opponent they've eaten since I been here, and the way
- 5:55Speaker 6: they did it, to me was super impressive.
- 5:57Speaker 1: I think he's really proud of that one.
- 5:58Speaker 2: He should be.
- 5:59Speaker 5: Look what I was was is that they didn't play
- 6:01Speaker 5: all that well against a really good defensive front, and
- 6:03Speaker 5: yet they still found a way to get things done.
- 6:06Speaker 5: Same thing we just heard from Josh Allen. They didn't
- 6:09Speaker 5: get that quarterback on the ground yet both Allen and
- 6:11Speaker 5: Walker drew a holding penalty, and anytime he dropped back
- 6:14Speaker 5: five or seven steps, he had someone in his face.
- 6:16Speaker 5: You don't look at the stats and you don't look
- 6:18Speaker 5: at the highlights and say, well they really made his
- 6:20Speaker 5: day long.
- 6:20Speaker 2: They did.
- 6:21Speaker 5: They harassed him consistently, except with the short drops when
- 6:24Speaker 5: he got.
- 6:24Speaker 2: Rid of the ball quickly.
- 6:25Speaker 4: Because this is a team that's scoring thirty plus every week,
- 6:27Speaker 4: we have to remember, yeah, they let them score, but
- 6:29Speaker 4: this is a team that can score a lot more
- 6:31Speaker 4: than that. And also for me, I think some of
- 6:33Speaker 4: the big stuff was the resiliency we saw out there,
- 6:35Speaker 4: whether it's Terius Williams getting picked on the entire game
- 6:37Speaker 4: but then coming up with two of the biggest plays
- 6:39Speaker 4: in the game, or even on offense, Traves Ytn having
- 6:42Speaker 4: a hard time finding his way in the middle, but
- 6:44Speaker 4: he bounces outside later and gets two touchdowns. So I
- 6:46Speaker 4: think for me it was nice to see that resiliency
- 6:48Speaker 4: because we hadn't seen that earlier in the season when
- 6:50Speaker 4: we were getting down and then everybody was mentally down
- 6:53Speaker 4: and they weren't coming back. So for me, that was
- 6:55Speaker 4: one of the things I was very excited to see.
- 6:57Speaker 4: Our second big thing today is going to be feel
- 6:59Speaker 4: later by. This is something we've talked about before, but
- 7:01Speaker 4: I wanted to bring up again because I know people
- 7:03Speaker 4: have questions about it. We go away for two weeks
- 7:05Speaker 4: to England and we do not have a buy. This
- 7:07Speaker 4: week we're going to be facing off against the Colts.
- 7:09Speaker 4: Doug talked about it after the game on Sunday.
- 7:12Speaker 8: You know, we're still so early in the season after
- 7:15Speaker 8: five games to take the buy this early, and it's
- 7:20Speaker 8: a long season. A lot of football left, and so
- 7:22Speaker 8: I feel like, if you know, if you can push,
- 7:25Speaker 8: if you can push your buy towards the middle of
- 7:27Speaker 8: the year, you know, it might benefit you. But I'll
- 7:31Speaker 8: do my part, you know, to help our team recover
- 7:34Speaker 8: this week coming up, but yet still making sure that
- 7:36Speaker 8: they're prepared mentally for the Colts next weekend.
- 7:41Speaker 4: Ryan, We'll see if it works out for them, but
- 7:42Speaker 4: it seems like it's the way that Doug lakes to
- 7:45Speaker 4: see it, at least halfway through the season.
- 7:46Speaker 2: Yeah, that's something that they'll be really appreciative of.
- 7:49Speaker 5: If you know, it's funny that if you go back
- 7:50Speaker 5: to Sunday and count forward to eleven days, they will
- 7:52Speaker 5: have had three games in eleven days with the Colts
- 7:55Speaker 5: and the Saints.
- 7:56Speaker 2: It's a really big challenge.
- 7:57Speaker 5: Then the flip side is is that over the next
- 7:59Speaker 5: twenty four day's following the Saints game, they only have
- 8:02Speaker 5: one game because of the bye week. So they're gonna
- 8:04Speaker 5: put their head down and grind through this thing. And
- 8:07Speaker 5: I'm interested, John to see how they feel when they
- 8:10Speaker 5: get back.
- 8:10Speaker 2: Out on the practice field. Today.
- 8:12Speaker 5: They came home, you know, they had Monday and Tuesday
- 8:14Speaker 5: without practice.
- 8:15Speaker 2: They went really light.
- 8:16Speaker 5: Do you treat this like a Thursday night schedule right
- 8:19Speaker 5: where you basically have a walk through all week long
- 8:22Speaker 5: to get ready for the Colts, to ensure that your
- 8:24Speaker 5: guys aren't just ready for this Sunday but next Thursday.
- 8:26Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know.
- 8:27Speaker 6: If you go walk through, it'd be interesting because Doug
- 8:30Speaker 6: hadn't given that away as a Sunday night. And my
- 8:34Speaker 6: guess is he has a plan, but that he put
- 8:36Speaker 6: a lot of thought into it in the off season
- 8:39Speaker 6: because it is a challenge. I'm sure his message today
- 8:43Speaker 6: it's Wednesday, and I'm sure he's saying, guys, give me
- 8:46Speaker 6: eight days and we'll get.
- 8:49Speaker 1: You through New Orleans and then you can rest.
- 8:51Speaker 6: But you got to get through this little segment because
- 8:54Speaker 6: it's really important, and think about how you would feel
- 8:56Speaker 6: if they would win the next two be five and
- 8:58Speaker 6: two come out of ani and that's far head. But
- 9:00Speaker 6: all of a sudden, now you're through that, you would
- 9:04Speaker 6: I after.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Houston, no way out a particular that they've had a
- 9:09Speaker 1: shot at that. So it's right there for well, let.
- 9:12Speaker 5: Me ask you guys, and we obviously didn't play, so
- 9:14Speaker 5: it's not an apples to apples comparison.
- 9:16Speaker 2: How do you feel right?
- 9:17Speaker 5: It's Wednesday. We've been back for two days. I mean,
- 9:21Speaker 5: are you back to normal? Are you back into your
- 9:23Speaker 5: normal circadian rhythm?
- 9:24Speaker 4: To be fair, I'm on like a Brian Sexton scheduler. Well,
- 9:26Speaker 4: could be like five forty five this morning, so it
- 9:28Speaker 4: was very productive in the morning, which maybe I won't
- 9:30Speaker 4: fully switch back because that seems to be.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Working for I like that morning schedule.
- 9:34Speaker 1: You don't want to know what my normal is.
- 9:36Speaker 2: Yeah, you're normals probably what.
- 9:40Speaker 1: I mean.
- 9:41Speaker 6: No, I'm not quite back yet, and it will be
- 9:46Speaker 6: a challenge because the one thing I'm not sure people
- 9:49Speaker 6: fully realize.
- 9:50Speaker 1: And I hadn't really thought about it time for this
- 9:51Speaker 1: game on Sunday.
- 9:53Speaker 6: No team's ever got acclimated fully and then come back
- 9:57Speaker 6: and tried to do it right. And I would say, well,
- 10:00Speaker 6: they'veen playing in London for years and years and years,
- 10:01Speaker 6: what are you talking about? But the body clock does
- 10:04Speaker 6: get used.
- 10:06Speaker 1: To it, so this is a new thing that they're
- 10:11Speaker 1: trying to do. So I've had people ask me how
- 10:14Speaker 1: will they do I don't know.
- 10:15Speaker 2: Yeah, we're gonna find out. It is a major storyline we.
- 10:18Speaker 4: Touched on our final big thing now and then which
- 10:20Speaker 4: is a little bit of that stretch. We are currently
- 10:22Speaker 4: in that eleven day stretch where they're gonna play. They
- 10:24Speaker 4: played last Sunday, they play this Sunday, and then they'll
- 10:25Speaker 4: play on Thursday, and then after that, we only have
- 10:27Speaker 4: that one game against the Steelers in twenty four days
- 10:30Speaker 4: because the bye week comes after that, so that'll be
- 10:32Speaker 4: a bit of a rest.
- 10:33Speaker 1: I want to talk to you guys a little bit.
- 10:34Speaker 4: We talked about this may be in a hard stretch
- 10:36Speaker 4: for them, but if they string in three wins together,
- 10:38Speaker 4: it's almost like they're getting that momentum and then they're
- 10:41Speaker 4: taking a week off. Do you believe in that or
- 10:42Speaker 4: do you think the buye can never be coming at
- 10:44Speaker 4: a bed.
- 10:44Speaker 2: I gotta be honest with the mid season.
- 10:46Speaker 5: If you were in that momentum surge and you had
- 10:49Speaker 5: a bye week to get ready for the best team
- 10:51Speaker 5: in football, who comes in here after that?
- 10:52Speaker 2: With San Francisco I mean talking.
- 10:54Speaker 5: I was at an event last night with Tony Dungee,
- 10:56Speaker 5: who was in San Francisco last week for that Cowboys game,
- 10:59Speaker 5: and he said, they are absolutely the real deal. They
- 11:02Speaker 5: are a downhill running team. If you have that week
- 11:04Speaker 5: off before you have to play them. I think everybody
- 11:06Speaker 5: involved would appreciate that.
- 11:08Speaker 1: It gives you a shot.
- 11:09Speaker 6: I'm not a huge believer in momentum. Jaguars had none
- 11:15Speaker 6: going to London and played great. So it's the next
- 11:18Speaker 6: day starting pitcher, right, I mean, that's usually what it is.
- 11:21Speaker 6: But if you believe in it, and if they believe
- 11:25Speaker 6: they have momentum, more power to them.
- 11:26Speaker 4: All right, they're gonna need all those two weeks for
- 11:28Speaker 4: the forty nine ers, that's for sure.
- 11:29Speaker 1: Stay with us.
- 11:30Speaker 4: We'll look around the AFC South, see what's going on
- 11:31Speaker 4: in the division. On jags am Field Auto Group Jacksonville
- 11:40Speaker 4: step up to Luxury Fieldsauto dot Com fans On Tuesday,
- 11:44Speaker 4: October twenty fourth, from five to six, you can head
- 11:46Speaker 4: the Publics located at Etown Exchange to meet Jacksonville Jaguars
- 11:50Speaker 4: players for a special appearance from five to six. Again,
- 11:52Speaker 4: that's Publics located at one one two five Etown Parkway
- 11:57Speaker 4: here in Jacksonville on Tuesday, Totober twenty fourth, from five
- 12:01Speaker 4: to six to meet members up the Jaguars. We're back
- 12:03Speaker 4: here on jag Zam on this Wednesday, we get prepared
- 12:06Speaker 4: to face off against the Colts again. The second time
- 12:08Speaker 4: this season, and we'll get into that matchup a little
- 12:10Speaker 4: more tomorrow, but we want to look around the AFC
- 12:13Speaker 4: South and see what's going on and keep you guys
- 12:15Speaker 4: abreast of the situation and what everybody's doing. And when
- 12:18Speaker 4: the Colts come to town, it's gonna be Minshew mania
- 12:22Speaker 4: again as it returns to Jacksonville this week. Also, we're
- 12:24Speaker 4: gonna talk about each of these a little bit individually.
- 12:26Speaker 4: The Titans are having some troubles right now. They fell
- 12:29Speaker 4: to the Colts last week, and it feels like every
- 12:31Speaker 4: other week we talk about them, it's either they've gotten
- 12:33Speaker 4: back together or they're, you know, back to missing something
- 12:35Speaker 4: and then c J. Stroud has not thrown an interception
- 12:38Speaker 4: still to this point. They lost last week to the Falcons,
- 12:40Speaker 4: which helps us out a little bit. But c J.
- 12:44Speaker 4: Stroud is gonna be trouble for the however long he plays,
- 12:47Speaker 4: because it's gonna be troublesome for sure. When we look
- 12:50Speaker 4: at Minchew, I were a virtue you guys, cause you
- 12:52Speaker 4: guys were here for all of it. What is he
- 12:54Speaker 4: able to bring to that team? Is able to get
- 12:56Speaker 4: them a couple more wins? And will he be able
- 12:58Speaker 4: to do that on Sunday.
- 12:59Speaker 5: Well, he seems to have this pension for the play
- 13:01Speaker 5: that you don't expect. He's not fast, but he gets
- 13:04Speaker 5: out of the pocket and he makes risky throws. But
- 13:07Speaker 5: so far he hasn't thrown an interception this year, and
- 13:09Speaker 5: his completion percentage is north of I think seventy percent
- 13:12Speaker 5: in the limited time. Really, what's interesting about this is,
- 13:16Speaker 5: I don't think it's Gardner Minshew that you worry about.
- 13:18Speaker 5: It's the fact that they have got a running game
- 13:20Speaker 5: with Zach Moss and the return of Jonathan Taylor that
- 13:22Speaker 5: will make everything easy for him if he doesn't have
- 13:26Speaker 5: to worry about guys pinning their ears back. I mean,
- 13:29Speaker 5: I think he has a chance to be very effective
- 13:31Speaker 5: because that Colt's running game. The other thing it's done
- 13:34Speaker 5: is it's rejuvenated in an offensive line that had sort
- 13:36Speaker 5: of lost its personality John I mean a few years
- 13:38Speaker 5: ago that group led by Quentin Nelson was the best
- 13:41Speaker 5: offensive line in football kind of fell off. Now with
- 13:44Speaker 5: two running backs that are capable of making the house
- 13:46Speaker 5: call from anywhere on the field, they played really well
- 13:49Speaker 5: last week against the Titans, and the Titans front is
- 13:51Speaker 5: no slouch.
- 13:52Speaker 6: Yeah, Gardner does scare me in this game, not because
- 13:54Speaker 6: of a revenge thing or whatever. But over the course
- 13:58Speaker 6: of ten games, I believe Gardner is probably a five
- 14:01Speaker 6: hundred quarterback. But for one game he's really dangerous because
- 14:07Speaker 6: he gets outside the pocket. He'll make weird decisions, but
- 14:12Speaker 6: good decisions. He'll go off script, and he's really accurate,
- 14:18Speaker 6: really all over the field, is really accurate. What he
- 14:20Speaker 6: doesn't have is the arm strength to make the huge
- 14:24Speaker 6: chunk throw twenty five yards downfield.
- 14:26Speaker 2: And they don't have the receiver to do it. Yea,
- 14:27Speaker 2: if it's.
- 14:28Speaker 6: Third and eleven, you've got to get him in situations
- 14:31Speaker 6: that he's making throws he doesn't like to make.
- 14:34Speaker 1: Then you can get him a little bit. But on
- 14:37Speaker 1: one drive, if you're up by.
- 14:39Speaker 6: Four on this guy with two minutes left, he's gonna
- 14:42Speaker 6: have three weird plays and all of a sudden he's
- 14:45Speaker 6: gonna be on your twenty with a chance to win
- 14:46Speaker 6: the game. So to me, Brian, they didn't. I don't
- 14:49Speaker 6: think they trailed in London. The Jaguars, if I recall, well,
- 14:53Speaker 6: that's first time they've done that Doug Peter Snare are
- 14:55Speaker 6: two straight games they need to get up on this team.
- 14:59Speaker 1: Play as well, tackle as well. They tackled really well
- 15:01Speaker 1: on Sunday. Tackle the Colts as well.
- 15:04Speaker 6: Get a lead, and then you've got a chance to
- 15:07Speaker 6: put this team in situations they don't want to be.
- 15:08Speaker 6: But don't let the Colts be even with you in
- 15:11Speaker 6: the second half because then they're playing their own game.
- 15:13Speaker 5: Maybe I'm wrong, but I mean Minshew in his rookie
- 15:17Speaker 5: season in twenty nineteen he was unpredictable. But when we
- 15:21Speaker 5: last saw him here, what was he one to seven
- 15:23Speaker 5: as a starting quarterback.
- 15:25Speaker 1: I mean, it's good team.
- 15:26Speaker 5: He was hon Well, no, I'm not taking that away,
- 15:28Speaker 5: but he didn't do anything to take the team over
- 15:30Speaker 5: the top. Now, he didn't do anything over the course
- 15:32Speaker 5: of those games. And the Minshew many was really about
- 15:34Speaker 5: twenty nineteen and the cult of personality that goes with him.
- 15:37Speaker 5: I mean, he's that fun guy that people like. If
- 15:41Speaker 5: the Colts are going to win on Sunday, they're going
- 15:43Speaker 5: to do it because the Jaguars will be unable to
- 15:45Speaker 5: stop their running game. They don't have a down the field,
- 15:48Speaker 5: you know, field stretching kind of threat. This should not
- 15:51Speaker 5: be a game where Gardner Minshew wins it should be
- 15:53Speaker 5: the kind of game where if the Jaguars stopped the run,
- 15:55Speaker 5: they win.
- 15:57Speaker 4: Elsewhere in the division, we want to talk a little bit,
- 15:59Speaker 4: we'll talk a little bit about that and this or that.
- 16:00Speaker 4: But the Titans are just like week by week we
- 16:02Speaker 4: don't really know what we're getting out of them, and
- 16:04Speaker 4: they're always scary, of course, But are they gonna come
- 16:07Speaker 4: back and kind of find their personality? Do we think
- 16:10Speaker 4: john at this point or is.
- 16:11Speaker 6: It pretty theorizing? Because I have not had a chance
- 16:13Speaker 6: to really dig into the Titans, but I talked to
- 16:17Speaker 6: one person up there, to people who've seen them a
- 16:21Speaker 6: little bit, they feel like a team. I think they're
- 16:25Speaker 6: really disciplined and really well coached. They know how Rabel
- 16:27Speaker 6: likes to play. It feels like that has gotten them
- 16:31Speaker 6: some good wins this year. It has kept them close.
- 16:33Speaker 6: I wonder how they're gonna be week six, week seven.
- 16:37Speaker 6: Once teams get film on all teams, sometimes teams.
- 16:41Speaker 1: Slide at that point.
- 16:42Speaker 6: I wonder if the Titans have enough left to sort
- 16:45Speaker 6: of get through that mid season time when teams figure
- 16:49Speaker 6: you out and then you adapt. I don't know the
- 16:54Speaker 6: answer to that, but sometimes teams that are older, hanging
- 16:57Speaker 6: on will start with, well, the Jaguars, remember, and Tom's
- 17:00Speaker 6: last season had a really good start and then it
- 17:03Speaker 6: just sort of fell apart.
- 17:05Speaker 1: Is that what the Titans are now?
- 17:06Speaker 6: I don't know, but I think it's a possibility. But again,
- 17:11Speaker 6: Bryan been around this Titans team, Well, you still have
- 17:15Speaker 6: a lot of respect for what they.
- 17:16Speaker 1: Get to do.
- 17:16Speaker 6: Count them out until they're out, but I wonder how
- 17:19Speaker 6: they're gonna get through the next two months.
- 17:21Speaker 5: It's a good front in Indianapolis. But Derrick Henry on
- 17:24Speaker 5: fourth and one, you're betting on Derrick Henry, right, he
- 17:27Speaker 5: couldn't get fourth and one.
- 17:28Speaker 1: And that's kind of what I mean.
- 17:29Speaker 6: Yeah, he had at figured out where the stuff they
- 17:33Speaker 6: count on works anymore.
- 17:34Speaker 5: Part of it is their offensive line, right They've got
- 17:37Speaker 5: four new starters on the offensive line. But Ryan Tannehill,
- 17:39Speaker 5: we know was an effective quarterback when Derrick Henry was
- 17:43Speaker 5: that incredible threat. You had to account for Henry with
- 17:47Speaker 5: an extra man near the line of scrimmage, and the
- 17:49Speaker 5: Tannehill was willing to go downfield. Right now, the whole
- 17:51Speaker 5: thing looks off because Dereck Henry isn't Dereck Henry and
- 17:54Speaker 5: Ryan Tannehill hasn't changed. He's still Ryan Tannehill. Their defense
- 17:57Speaker 5: is good. They will have games where Derek Henry gets going.
- 18:01Speaker 5: But I've heard whispers that, you know, perhaps they'll try
- 18:04Speaker 5: to move Derrick Henry before the season's over to a contender.
- 18:07Speaker 2: So you never know.
- 18:09Speaker 5: They've got a young running back they like, maybe, you know,
- 18:12Speaker 5: Derrick Henry just doesn't. He didn't look like Derrick Henry
- 18:15Speaker 5: last year. He doesn't look like Derrick Henry now. And
- 18:18Speaker 5: he said, what ten thousand carries in the last five
- 18:20Speaker 5: or six years. I mean, at some point, those big backs,
- 18:23Speaker 5: they were it out as far.
- 18:25Speaker 4: As the Texans go. We talk about CJ. Stroud when
- 18:27Speaker 4: he was here, he showed out for sure. He still
- 18:30Speaker 4: hasn't throw an interception. Is he gonna have one of
- 18:31Speaker 4: those days? Or do we think he's just going to
- 18:33Speaker 4: continue this until he's already at a record pace at
- 18:35Speaker 4: this point.
- 18:36Speaker 2: Yeah, yes, yeah, he's a rookie.
- 18:39Speaker 5: At some point, at some point he's going to try
- 18:41Speaker 5: to force it and make a play. He's another guy
- 18:43Speaker 5: that has one threat down the field, Collins, and that's it.
- 18:46Speaker 5: So at some point he'll try they'll be behind and
- 18:48Speaker 5: he'll try to force it in somewhere where it doesn't belong.
- 18:51Speaker 5: I mean, at some point he'll get frustrated, but he's
- 18:53Speaker 5: a really mature kid.
- 18:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:55Speaker 6: I think what's obvious with the Texans is right now
- 18:58Speaker 6: he's playing really well Stroud.
- 18:59Speaker 1: It's got an to.
- 19:00Speaker 6: Two and three, but they're not a mature roster around him.
- 19:06Speaker 6: So even when he's playing well, they're gonna have games
- 19:08Speaker 6: like last week where they lose to the Falcons in
- 19:10Speaker 6: a game they could have won. Once they get mature
- 19:13Speaker 6: another year, it may happen this year. You know, the
- 19:17Speaker 6: Jags last year came out of sort of nowhere. The
- 19:19Speaker 6: Texans feel like this team did early last year. I
- 19:23Speaker 6: don't think it's their year yet, but once they add
- 19:25Speaker 6: a couple of pieces around him, they're dangerous.
- 19:27Speaker 5: I'd like to see them win enough games to not
- 19:28Speaker 5: being the running for Marvin Harrison junior.
- 19:30Speaker 2: That would be nice as Ohio State.
- 19:34Speaker 5: Yeah, let's win enough Texans so that you don't give
- 19:36Speaker 5: him because if that happens, watch.
- 19:37Speaker 4: Out all right, say with us, we're gonna go over
- 19:39Speaker 4: this or that for what we got going on this week?
- 19:42Speaker 4: Coming up next on Jack's I Am For ten years,
- 19:53Speaker 4: dream Finders' homes have been proud to call themselves the
- 19:56Speaker 4: official home builder of the Jacksonville jaguarssit visit dream Finders
- 19:59Speaker 4: Homes for all of the available inventory and go Jags.
- 20:03Speaker 4: Price dot Com also the easiest way to save money

- 20:09Speaker 4: Try price dot Com. Today's this or this or that day?
- 20:16Speaker 4: So we're gonna go over are this or that's for
- 20:18Speaker 4: this week? Bryan? What are you looking at them?
- 20:19Speaker 2: Colts are Titans?
- 20:20Speaker 5: Who is the Jaguars biggest threat to win the division?
- 20:24Speaker 5: I don't think the Texans are. I don't think this
- 20:26Speaker 5: is their year. They didn't go all in on free agency.
- 20:29Speaker 2: Like the Jaguars did last year. I don't think they have
- 20:31Speaker 2: their pieces. I'm not sure the Colts have the quarterback situation.
- 20:36Speaker 5: I mean, they have the running game and they're gonna
- 20:37Speaker 5: win some games and they're gonna you know, And I don't.
- 20:40Speaker 2: Believe in the Titans.
- 20:41Speaker 5: I've said that since since we started this show. So
- 20:44Speaker 5: I'm gonna say it's the Colts because I think with
- 20:47Speaker 5: those two running backs and that offensive line, Gardner Minshew
- 20:50Speaker 5: can be an efficient quarterback until Anthony Richardson comes back,
- 20:53Speaker 5: and Richardson was averaging five point seven per carry. And
- 20:57Speaker 5: I mean they can make it dangerous on you. If
- 20:59Speaker 5: you have a screw up like they did against Houston,
- 21:02Speaker 5: the Colts can catch you.
- 21:03Speaker 2: So I think it's the Colts.
- 21:05Speaker 1: Yeah, I sort of agree.
- 21:08Speaker 6: I think it's a real opportunity for this team, meaning
- 21:10Speaker 6: the Jaguars. They haven't been in this situation. I was
- 21:15Speaker 6: trying to remember the last time they had been a
- 21:17Speaker 6: home favored in the division this early with a chance
- 21:21Speaker 6: to sort of take control of the division. They were
- 21:24Speaker 6: a home favor against the Titans last year and won
- 21:27Speaker 6: the division a tight game. But this is one of
- 21:29Speaker 6: those games that division champions. If you're going to be
- 21:33Speaker 6: the team that goes, you beat the Colts and put
- 21:37Speaker 6: the division in the rear view right now. So it's
- 21:40Speaker 6: a real chance to be obviously up on the Colts
- 21:42Speaker 6: by a sweep and then have the lead. I think
- 21:47Speaker 6: if you had told anybody that, hey, after you beat Houston,
- 21:50Speaker 6: you'll have a chance to be alone in first place
- 21:53Speaker 6: in the division after six games, Wow, you'll take it.
- 21:55Speaker 6: So this is their opportunity to you win this, Brian,
- 21:58Speaker 6: And it feels like the first six weeks were okay. Yeah,
- 22:02Speaker 6: no matter what happened against Houston, you feel like, okay,
- 22:04Speaker 6: we got it done.
- 22:05Speaker 1: We're fourign two clear first place.
- 22:09Speaker 5: I ain't a big one or you've equaled things out
- 22:11Speaker 5: right because you lost one you weren't supposed to and
- 22:13Speaker 5: you won one you weren't supposed to because people didn't
- 22:15Speaker 5: see the Jaguars beating the Bills in London. So if
- 22:18Speaker 5: you get through this one, you're in great check.
- 22:21Speaker 4: I think I'm with you, John in the sense that
- 22:22Speaker 4: if they lose on Sunday to the Cults, that would
- 22:24Speaker 4: give me much more concern. I think going forward where
- 22:27Speaker 4: you don't have the tiebreaker on your side, and that
- 22:29Speaker 4: would be a little more concerning to me.
- 22:31Speaker 1: You'd still be okay because you're even.
- 22:33Speaker 6: I mean, it's a disaster to lose this game because
- 22:35Speaker 6: you've already beaten them.
- 22:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm saying you want to lose it, but it's
- 22:38Speaker 1: not like oh okuess, we got swept, now we're behind.
- 22:41Speaker 1: It just means you're.
- 22:43Speaker 6: You're probably even with most of the division at that point,
- 22:46Speaker 6: but it's a chance to go in and have a
- 22:49Speaker 6: leg up.
- 22:49Speaker 1: You want that.
- 22:51Speaker 4: Mike Verbel always scares me. So I'm never going to
- 22:52Speaker 4: entirely be cool with the Titans. But that's a concern. Well,
- 22:55Speaker 4: guess we'll end up seeing where things end up at
- 22:57Speaker 4: the end of the year. John, what's your this or
- 22:59Speaker 4: that for us this week?
- 23:00Speaker 6: Well, the Jaguars have beating the Colts eight straight times
- 23:03Speaker 6: at home. I think everybody knows that one of those
- 23:06Speaker 6: games was in London seven here is that good or bad?
- 23:10Speaker 2: And I kind of.
- 23:11Speaker 1: Laughed at myself doing this question because I don't really care.
- 23:15Speaker 1: I'm not a big doesn't care guys.
- 23:17Speaker 6: I mean, I don't really think that this kind of
- 23:20Speaker 6: thing usually plays into very much.
- 23:22Speaker 5: Eight years ago was a completely different team. They aren't
- 23:24Speaker 5: the same players.
- 23:25Speaker 6: Right, It's tough to compare, But there is something to
- 23:28Speaker 6: the way the Jaguars, even when they were bad, they
- 23:32Speaker 6: beat the Colts bad a couple of times when the
- 23:34Speaker 6: Colts were pretty good.
- 23:37Speaker 1: I do think that.
- 23:41Speaker 6: Those streaks if the other team gets up, meaning if
- 23:45Speaker 6: the Colts get up on Sunday and are ahead in
- 23:49Speaker 6: the first quarter, I think street goes out the window.
- 23:52Speaker 1: If the Jaguars get up by ten, then all of
- 23:54Speaker 1: a sudden, the Colts in the sidelines. You've heard it
- 23:56Speaker 1: all week.
- 23:57Speaker 6: Then maybe there is something where they say, well, maybe
- 24:00Speaker 6: we just can't win here. I don't think it'll be
- 24:05Speaker 6: I think it's better for the Tags to have won
- 24:07Speaker 6: eighth straight, but I think.
- 24:08Speaker 1: It's a bad thing.
- 24:09Speaker 5: This is where I think that Gardner Minshew is a
- 24:12Speaker 5: positive for the Colts because he ain't care. He was
- 24:14Speaker 5: the quarterback in twenty twenty when the Jaguars beat the
- 24:17Speaker 5: Colts led by Philip Rivers. They were a playoff team
- 24:19Speaker 5: that year. He beat them. He was nineteen of twenty
- 24:22Speaker 5: that day and through two touchdown passes, he was highly
- 24:25Speaker 5: efficient at.
- 24:25Speaker 2: A very good game.
- 24:26Speaker 5: He is going to come in here with the hair
- 24:28Speaker 5: flowing and the swagger. H't to worry about how many
- 24:31Speaker 5: games those Colts lost because he was in Philly or
- 24:34Speaker 5: he was here. He didn't care at all. I don't
- 24:37Speaker 5: know whether it's good or bad. I just know that
- 24:39Speaker 5: it exists for me. I enjoy the fact that it
- 24:42Speaker 5: bothers Ersa Jim Ersey so much that you know, he
- 24:44Speaker 5: stands in front of his plane with that silly had
- 24:46Speaker 5: on and talks about you know, Colts fans and Colts
- 24:50Speaker 5: Nation and all. I love that. I love how mad
- 24:52Speaker 5: he was. They came in here at the end of
- 24:54Speaker 5: the twenty two season needing to win to go to
- 24:57Speaker 5: the playoffs. That's all they do was beat a team
- 24:59Speaker 5: on a pack coach right with a rookie quarterback that
- 25:02Speaker 5: was going nowhere, and these guys just punked them like
- 25:06Speaker 5: they had Peyton Manning at quarterback, and maybe they did.
- 25:08Speaker 5: Maybe they had their version of Peyton Manning in Trevor Lawrence.
- 25:11Speaker 5: And I like a good rivalry. I like the little
- 25:14Speaker 5: hatred's too strong of but we're better like a little dislike.
- 25:16Speaker 5: And I like the fact that these two teams don't
- 25:19Speaker 5: like each other and that they have lost here in
- 25:21Speaker 5: perpetuity and that we can tweak them. That makes it fun.
- 25:24Speaker 6: A great stat Reggie Wayne was still playing last time
- 25:27Speaker 6: they won, and he's in a second.
- 25:28Speaker 2: Years, which is amazing.
- 25:30Speaker 1: So a good times.
- 25:31Speaker 4: Let's hope that streak continues this or that this week
- 25:34Speaker 4: is going to be about the Colts game and the
- 25:36Speaker 4: Saints game. We always know those short weeks for Thursday
- 25:38Speaker 4: night football are tough, but this is the first week
- 25:40Speaker 4: back from London after we spent over ten days there,
- 25:42Speaker 4: So which one of those do you think is a
- 25:45Speaker 4: tougher game. For me, normally I go Thursday night football,
- 25:47Speaker 4: but I think this week is going to be a
- 25:49Speaker 4: little bit weird. No one stayed over there that long
- 25:51Speaker 4: in London and played two games before. This will be
- 25:53Speaker 4: the first week back. I don't think they will lose
- 25:55Speaker 4: either of them, but I think this one might be
- 25:57Speaker 4: a little tighter than we expect, just because it is
- 26:00Speaker 4: division opponent and kind of getting your sea legs back
- 26:02Speaker 4: now that we're back in Florida.
- 26:03Speaker 2: Jacks, you've never won in New Orleans never. Never.
- 26:06Speaker 6: Yeah, it's tough to go on the road on a Thursday.
- 26:08Speaker 6: I mean, I'm not looking ahead guy and all that.
- 26:11Speaker 6: If I had to pick one that's more concerning, I
- 26:14Speaker 6: would say it's going on the road in a short week.
- 26:17Speaker 6: It gets team with a really good defense, the Saints.
- 26:20Speaker 6: That said, I think the Colts game is gonna be
- 26:21Speaker 6: a fourth quarter game. So I think I'm both concerned.
- 26:24Speaker 4: All Right, I guess we'll have to see.

- 27:02Speaker 4: guys looking at this week or what are you trying
- 27:04Speaker 4: to focus on other than getting your sleep schedule back together?
- 27:06Speaker 1: John?
- 27:08Speaker 6: You know, I think the uh A, I've got Darius
- 27:13Speaker 6: Wwims and the ozone podcast, which will be interesting.
- 27:16Speaker 1: Local kid who has really made a much bigger impact
- 27:20Speaker 1: this year than he did last year.
- 27:21Speaker 6: I mean, he's made two big plays in London. Uh
- 27:24Speaker 6: maybe he wants to play with there all the time.
- 27:27Speaker 5: I'm really interested in this Colts team, you know, I mean,
- 27:29Speaker 5: just tweak the owner because it's fun. But the reality
- 27:32Speaker 5: of it is is that they found a way to
- 27:33Speaker 5: get Jonathan Taylor unto contract and early on, you know,
- 27:36Speaker 5: and then he was very you know vocal in saying,
- 27:39Speaker 5: you know, talking about not doing a deal, and yet
- 27:43Speaker 5: he found a way to strengthen his football team and
- 27:45Speaker 5: Jonathan Taylor certainly does that. That'll keep that defense fresh.
- 27:48Speaker 5: I mean, they come in as a real threat on Sunday.
- 27:51Speaker 4: Should be interesting because the Jags run defense has been
- 27:53Speaker 4: one of the best in the league so far this season,
- 27:55Speaker 4: so that will certainly be a tough matchup for them.
- 27:57Speaker 4: That game against the Colts this week is brought to
- 27:59Speaker 4: you by Hundai. There's still tickets available. There's never been
