A 50-year-old time capsule unearthed in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, turned into a soggy disappointment—water had seeped in, ruining most of its contents. But amid the damp disappointment, a few treasures survived: a 2026 t-shirt, commemorative plates, community-etched metal signs, even a pair of dentures—and relics from the local Honey Bucket tavern. The Menomonee Falls Historical Society is now cleaning and cataloging the finds, with plans to display them at the Depot Museum on July 18th, exactly 50 years after the capsule was buried, honoring the community’s bicentennial snapshot.
