Latest / Be It Till You See It / 689. Practical Action Steps to Outgrow a Version of Yourself
Transcript
- 0:00[SPEAKER_01]: Listen to how versions of ourselves start, we get a new interest, and then we kind of go into that thing, and then we learn something, and then we grow into that, and then all of a sudden, we don't necessarily need some of the things that we had, whether they're coping mechanisms or jobs or relationships.
- 0:16[SPEAKER_01]: You know, we can outgrow ourselves in so many different ways, and I think we always will.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to the Beat Till You See at Podcast, where we talk about taking messy action, knowing that perfect is boring.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_01]: I'm also Logan, Ply's instructor, and fit this business coach.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_01]: I've trained thousands of people around the world, and the number one thing I see stopping people from achieving anything is self-doubt.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_01]: My friends, action brings clarity.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_01]: And it's the antidote to fear.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_01]: Each week my guests will bring bold, executable, intrinsic, and targeted steps that you can use to put yourself first and be it till you see it.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_01]: It's a practice, not a perfect, let's get started.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_01]: How low will be it be, how are you?
- 1:06[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, we're back with part two.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_01]: So if you're new to the BeatPod, we have some weeks where we do an interview in every KEP episode, and we have some weeks where we do a series, and we talk about a topic that you guys have written in and said I wanna have more information.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_01]: I wanna hear more about this, or like, this is how I'm feeling.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_01]: What do you think?
- 1:24[SPEAKER_01]: And so hopefully, the personal stories and experiences and anecdotes help you feel not so alone in the topic,
- 1:33[SPEAKER_01]: Well, a version of yourself.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_01]: And so you haven't listened to the first episode.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_01]: I would do that.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_01]: Because I actually want to reference some stories from that.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm not going to tell them again.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_01]: So, and such great.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_01]: So, anyways, let's get into it, right?
- 1:46[SPEAKER_01]: Here we go.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_01]: So, okay.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_01]: Last episode, we talked about outgoing old version of yourselves.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_01]: And I highlighted like with grace and compassion, like not the shame and blame, because it can be really easy to do that.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_01]: And so this week,
- 2:00[SPEAKER_01]: the actual action of letting go, and then the action steps of being in your new version, right?
- 2:05[SPEAKER_01]: So the stories that I brought up were inspired because I actually was looking at old photos of myself starting out as a applies instructor.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_01]: And then I share these two instances of like, when I outgrow the retail version of the need to be the applies instructor, and then I outgrow being the applies studio manager, teacher, trainer, all the things to working myself as a applies business coach and applies instructor.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_01]: And I really will say, like, there wasn't this like green sign, like, green, like, hello, Wesley, this is the door, right?
- 2:33[SPEAKER_01]: Like, no, I kind of realized that grew those roles.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_01]: And that version of me kind of kicking and screaming, getting so frustrated and exhausted because I had, I had taken on so much trying to start this new thing that I was into as opposed to a hobby.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_01]: And now it's a full-time job, but I also have a full-time job.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_01]: And then, wow, now I can take on Pilates full time and this job has health insurance and a salary and room to grow and expand and I've learned so much there and I was challenged and I got to be a big fish and a small pond and to the day that I, with what have a panic attack, because I was overworking myself trying to fulfill the agreements that I had made as an employee while trying to explore.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_01]: these new interests I have and isn't that how versions of ourselves start we get and we get a new interest and then we kind of go into that thing and then we learn something and then we grow into that and then all of a sudden we don't.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_01]: necessarily need some of the things that we had, whether they're coping mechanisms or jobs or relationships.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_01]: You know, we can outgrow ourselves in so many different ways.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_01]: And I think we always will.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_01]: Now, I will say I don't feel very confident that either the changes that I made I did gracefully.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_01]: Like I look back and see like,
- 3:55[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe if I know what I know now about how I could land on my own two feet and be as resourceful as I am.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_01]: If I had that evidence, I could have had the guts to just quit the first time and not try to have one foot on an island and one foot on a canoe and stand there and still and not lose my balance.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_01]: And I also will say the second time I grew that version of me, you know, I didn't, this is, I thought I could do it all and I didn't really want to let go of some of the things because I
- 4:24[SPEAKER_01]: I like the people I worked with.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_01]: I like the people I worked for.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_01]: I like, there was something as I hated and that made the job really annoying, but like, those were detailed oriented things, of course, I didn't like them.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_01]: But like, I really thought I could, I could do both for a long time, but what happened along the way in there and doing both for a long time is that there was this part of me that was like, I want it, I'm really interested in this impact over here, and I can't do it as long as I'm doing this.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_01]: you know, I, I also will say like part of the way that I tend to, I tend it, I will say, I'll put it in the past tense.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_01]: I tended to become this new version of me is that the last touch was some of those relationships.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_01]: In fact, when I posted that picture, one of the people who commented is one of the people that I, I lost touch with probably within the first year of putting retail and I really liked her.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_01]: And
- 5:17[SPEAKER_01]: I still, you know, every couple of years, I'll be in Palm Springs like connect with her because that's where she moved and so she reminded me that I taught her in her house and her apartment.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god, this person helped me out and I kind of like lost touch but because we do that right when your schedule changes because you, your, the new version of you needs this schedule.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_01]: Right?
- 5:35[SPEAKER_01]: The new version of you needs to be doing these things or studying these things or just being time in these areas.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it means that we tend to lose people in our lives.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_01]: And it doesn't have to be personal.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_01]: Not personal at all.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_01]: There was a couple people I definitely was a great one to see that person.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_01]: But like the people that I worked with in both of those arenas,
- 5:55[SPEAKER_01]: the ones I lost touch with, I will say most of the time it just happened because life happens because we get busy and well back then it wasn't as easy as it is now, but even now, where even busier, right?
- 6:06[SPEAKER_01]: I can proudly say that I'm still dear friends with several the people that I worked with at the second place and in-out growing the version myself, they didn't get mad or turn their backs on me.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_01]: In fact, they celebrated it because they could say
- 6:21[SPEAKER_01]: feel this need to grow and you're out growing what you once were you have different worries and different schedules and different relationships get added in and because of all these different changes that you're making because it's in alignment with where you want to grow.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you might lose some things.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_01]: You might lose some people.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_01]: You know, there's like there's a coffee shop that I used to go to when we live in a light every single day.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_01]: I do wonder where those people are now.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_01]: I hope they're not there anymore.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_01]: But I do wonder, you know, because we you lose touch.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_01]: you don't ever have to apologize for the growth that you're making, forgetting to know yourself more and or for changing your mind.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_01]: We definitely should be as graceful as we can when we make our exits.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_01]: And I can say that I think I did a great as good a job as I could given the circumstances on those exits.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_01]: But the today version of me would have made those exits completely differently.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_01]: And might have been able to have find a way to stay in touch with some
- 7:20[SPEAKER_01]: So I will just say like we usually do do the best we can with what we have and when we know better we do better and so just be have some kindness at yourself of yourself because depending on how many times you've got grown a version of yourself it might be the first time you're making these changes and making mistakes and learning new things and so be thoughtful, right?
- 7:38[SPEAKER_01]: Be thoughtful of yourself but not just of others because I think it's easy to do that.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so
- 7:44[SPEAKER_01]: When we look back and I hope for you did, if you watched, listen to Tuesday episode, I asked you like, look back and look at the signs that we're showing up that you are ready to outgrow and make changes and let go up, right?
- 7:54[SPEAKER_01]: When we do that, we tend to look back at them as simpler times and like, oh, I should have just been happy.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I think about like, when we look at pictures of ourselves when we were, you know, five, 10 years ago, we went, oh my god, why did I think I looked good?
- 8:05[SPEAKER_01]: Why did I think I looked heavy or whatever?
- 8:07[SPEAKER_01]: Like, oh my god, I looked so good there.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_01]: So we tend to do that with these rows, colored glasses
- 8:12[SPEAKER_01]: I will just say, life was not simpler back when that was because that version of you didn't have the skillsets you have today.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_01]: So when you look back at life and you're like, oh my god, I should have just been happy about that.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_01]: No, you have new skillsets, you have new abilities to handle things.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_01]: And so when you look back at the life, it seems like it was simple, it wasn't simple, but didn't have the tools that you have now.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_01]: And when you were that person, there was needs and desires that we're not being met, that is why you got to where you are today, why you have your be it till you see it goals, who you want to become because
- 8:45[SPEAKER_01]: the life that you have wasn't satisfying for some reason.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_01]: There was something with this missing that you went searching for.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_01]: And you grew and you out grew and it doesn't mean that who you were with silly stupid wrong or dumb is just an old version.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I look back and I'm like, wow.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, like I was like so anti-sonic, like transparent.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_01]: And now I still put sunscreen on, but my goodness, a little bit.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_01]: A little bit of sun, a little bit freckles, not bad things.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_01]: I think of another example of growing a version of yourself is like, my first iPhone to today's iPhone.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_01]: Like, when the first iPhone came out, we were like, oh my god, what an incredible phone, like how lucky am I that I could tap this phone?
- 9:26[SPEAKER_01]: And now if we were to use that iPhone, like my dad's an old iPhone, and I'm like, oh, that's shit.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_01]: Like, so outdated.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_01]: And,
- 9:34[SPEAKER_01]: and we wouldn't do that then.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_01]: You can't do that to yourself.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_01]: You can't take an old version of yourself going, oh my god, what an idiot, because like back in the day it was pretty unique who you were and what you were doing and you were this amazing invention and a slice of time that we'll never have back.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_01]: So
- 9:56[SPEAKER_01]: We have to be thoughtful and kind and know that like, because our standards have changed, that doesn't mean that who we were before wasn't good enough.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_01]: They just had different standards.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_01]: And we know more, we know better.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_01]: We know more.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_01]: We want.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_01]: We have new standards.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_01]: We have new needs example.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_01]: When it comes to you outgrowing.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_01]: So.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_01]: You've outgrown a version of yourself.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_01]: You're stepping into your new thing.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_01]: You're being at tell you see it.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_01]: And you're feeling a little exhausted frustrated.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_01]: You mean still getting resentful, like things feel like they're not moving along.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_01]: We'll get more into stuckness later.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_01]: But we're holding your trying, you're doing what I was doing in the last episode.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_01]: We're eyes like I'm gonna hold on to this job and do this job.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_01]: And the reality is it's like,
- 10:39[SPEAKER_01]: Once you start growing into this new version, it's really hard to go back.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_01]: Like once you learn that the wizard of Oz is just a person behind the curtain and it's not the wizard, it's kind of hard to like put the toothpaste back in the tube as they say.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_01]: So hopefully this thing example works.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_01]: Brad had this weird thing about like he keeps our old iPhones and then every time we get a new iPhone, he gets rid of our oldest iPhones, but we always have,
- 11:05[SPEAKER_01]: older ones lying around and sometimes even uses them.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_01]: And part of it is like, he's worried like, oh my gosh, what if I don't have all that I need that's on that phone?
- 11:13[SPEAKER_01]: But if I forgot something's there?
- 11:15[SPEAKER_01]: Like, that's a great, that's a great phone to me.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_01]: I really like how it felt.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_01]: You know, like, that's like, that's kind of like us trying to hold on to people who no longer fit where we're growing or schedules.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_01]: It maybe you are trying to do your own thing, but you're holding onto your old life schedules, right?
- 11:37[SPEAKER_01]: Like when we moved to Vegas, I was trying so hard to do the schedule that I had in LA because I loved that schedule, but not only was I no longer an angelino, I was a lost vegan.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_01]: It was COVID.
- 11:50[SPEAKER_01]: There was no schedule to keep.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_01]: I had to change.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_01]: I had to outgrow that.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_01]: I had to let it go, right?
- 11:55[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm not saying like you have to get rid of anyone in your life or the schedule or the cars or the clothes when you outgrow yourself, but what I am saying is that.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_01]: to fully step into the new version of yourself, we do have to evaluate what has to change so that I can fully be this person.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_01]: Is this schedule, the cadence of when I see people in my life that has a change is, do I need more sleep to be this person?
- 12:22[SPEAKER_01]: My God, the younger me could just do a lot on no sleep, my goodness.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_01]: Like, is the life in the version I am right now, someone who cannot handle complain about things from 20 years ago in our life?
- 12:34[SPEAKER_01]: So, I do think to fully outgrow a version of yourself besides space and grace and compassion for who you were and who you're becoming, it is important to evaluate like what are you taking with you and what are you letting go.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_01]: And that's the action step that we have to take as we outgrow the version of yourself.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_01]: Like what is no longer surfering us?
- 12:56[SPEAKER_01]: What is taking up space and by the way, some of the stuff will just change naturally, you know, like when I change from being in retail to working Pilates, like the clothing was pretty easy to change like the job is to wear leggings, you know, but I'm, but not all of it is easy it just takes some time and that but the actions that you can take is to make sure that the steps you're taking each day are towards the version you want to be.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_01]: and not the version that you once were, because you're just gonna get frustrated.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's kinda like, I made this example earlier when I'm gonna say it again because I want you to have a visual.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_01]: You know, when I was trying to keep the old stuff and the new stuff, it is like having one photo and island one foot on a canoe, we moved to Vegas, we're like, oh, we'll go back to LA every month, every four weeks.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_01]: We'll have our same hairdressers and our same flash technicians and our same,
- 13:46[SPEAKER_01]: blah blah blah and see our friends y'all.
- 13:50[SPEAKER_01]: We haven't been back any in eight months, right?
- 13:52[SPEAKER_01]: Because while that story felt really good.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_01]: the version that we are becoming by living here made it really hard to go back there.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_01]: Because those people, by the way, something they want to see us, is not what we don't want to see them, but they were in their version of their lives.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_01]: And we're coming in every four weeks going, hey, hang out with us.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_01]: And it's like, they're like, well, at this time, just don't work.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_01]: I got things to do.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_01]: So sometimes I think we are trying to cobble and hold everything together from all parts of our lives.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_01]: And the truth is we just have to take a moment to go, okay, hold on.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_01]: Who do I want to be?
- 14:25[SPEAKER_01]: What does she do?
- 14:26[SPEAKER_01]: What does she eat?
- 14:28[SPEAKER_01]: Where does she go to work?
- 14:29[SPEAKER_01]: Where does all this different stuff?
- 14:31[SPEAKER_01]: So that you can step into that power and then some things will naturally just go away and some things.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_01]: Some people will step up so they can stay in.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_01]: You know, or you might still keep the old car.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_01]: even though you've changed.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_01]: Because that's practical, right?
- 14:45[SPEAKER_01]: Not saying go out by a new card to the because that's what she would drive.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_01]: We have to take some actions and making sure that the life that we want to live is actually in alignment with who we're growing in to be and not who we used to be.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_01]: It's important you're also not playing the hindsight game.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_01]: I talked a little about this in the last episode, but
- 15:03[SPEAKER_01]: I think like, like, when I go back to like going to LA, I would drive around and I could go, oh, I lived here.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_01]: And you think about who you were in the mistakes you made and like, you know, that I lived here.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_01]: And oh, my God, I remember I did this.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_01]: You know, more now.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_01]: So we can't, we can't go into hindsight and go, I would have done this better, or I should have done that sooner, or I should have quit that sooner.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_01]: I should have let that relationship end that time.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_01]: You know,
- 15:30[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my gosh, I'm going to tell you a story about first of my clothes that send us off with like any type of judgment like that is shame and it's not helpful.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_01]: In fact, when you are judging yourself for who you used to be, it is actually a sign you have to have a gratitude practice.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_01]: And this is my work with my therapist about as I was evolving into the space that I am now in 2020.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_01]: She was like, if you are judging yourself, that means you are not in gratitude.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_01]: And so if you get in gratitude, judgment can't be there.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_01]: can't live in the same space at the same time, can't hold space for both.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_01]: And so I would just say, like, if you find yourself getting frustrated or judgmental, like take a moment to be like, I'm grateful that I made this change.
- 16:09[SPEAKER_01]: I'm grateful that I learned this thing.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_01]: I'm grateful that I said yes to that thing, because it will help you realize, like, you did the best you could back then, with what you knew.
- 16:18[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, so the story I wanted to share before I got those things out is like, I remember, this is a hindsight game.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_01]: I remember it's one day a year before I broke with my ex.
- 16:29[SPEAKER_01]: I remember driving on the freeway and going, oh my god, I wish he would just break up with me because I don't know how to break up with him.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_01]: And then staying for another year, only to finally have the capacity to blow it all up.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_01]: And that's really what I did.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_01]: That version of me had not spent enough time to really fully fully figure out who she was going to be, but I did that on my summer couch tour sometimes you have to do that right sometimes you have to that but I remember thinking oh my god if I just done this a year ago.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_01]: I just saw this a year ago and it's like, yeah, yeah, it would have been great.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_01]: And I also would not have had the friends that I had, whose catches I slept on, for sure, would not have had that.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_01]: I would not have had the things that happened in that summer that gave me time and space and a schedule that allowed me to really grow into myself, the single version of myself, the woman that, like, I really think because I did that,
- 17:22[SPEAKER_01]: is why I'm here today and it's definitely why I have the friendships that I have in the business that I have for sure like the things that happened during that time.
- 17:28[SPEAKER_01]: So I just share that with you because yes it would have been nice if you made changes sooner or I said yes to things sooner but also you didn't have those tool sets yet.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_01]: And so now that you are taking action, having compassion for who you were and gratitude is going to take you a long way and it's going to make
- 17:51[SPEAKER_01]: fun and a little more possible.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_01]: Look, part of letting go and shifting is, is where be it, tell you, see it, it works the best.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_01]: You know, if you are kind of in that in between, you have the one foot on the island and one foot on the boat, it is time to sit down and just talk about like, okay, it's a year from now, who are you?
- 18:11[SPEAKER_01]: Where do you live?
- 18:11[SPEAKER_01]: What do you do?
- 18:12[SPEAKER_01]: What's your schedule like?
- 18:13[SPEAKER_01]: When do you get up, when do you go to sleep?
- 18:15[SPEAKER_01]: When do you have time with your partner?
- 18:16[SPEAKER_01]: When do you have time with your friends?
- 18:17[SPEAKER_01]: When do you have time to do this?
- 18:19[SPEAKER_01]: What are the hobbies that you have?
- 18:21[SPEAKER_01]: And then you can like just like just dream so big and then you go, okay, so based on this, how do I work backwards to be this woman?
- 18:29[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I'm someone who, I don't know how to knit.
- 18:31[SPEAKER_01]: I guess I'm going to a knitting class, right?
- 18:32[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I know I made that really simple, but like, truly, that is how you become the version of yourself that you wanna be.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_01]: I wanted to have a Pilis Business Coach and a studio, like I wanted to be a Pilis Business Coach and have a studio.
- 18:48[SPEAKER_01]: And so I would tell people before I left the other gig, and I was still just renting space and doing some coaching and just helping people, what do you do?
- 18:56[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I coach Pilis Business is on how to be more profitable and have the impact they want to make, and I teach private on the side.
- 19:03[SPEAKER_01]: I started telling people that, even though majority of my time with teaching polite, I would tell people that because in time people that I was telling them who I was going into, who I wanted to become.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_01]: And then the hours that I wish I was coaching, I would actually be marketing my coaching services.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_01]: Because then I spent time being the person I wanted to be.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_01]: So when you are in this outgrow stage, growing in stage, the best thing you can do is dream about like you're on the other side, who are you and then work backwards and be a taste in that way.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_01]: It's also important to remember you don't become someone new overnight.
- 19:39[SPEAKER_01]: You do become her in moments and I love looking back at those moments and seeing, oh, that's when I was like, oh, that moment and that moment and that moment compounded to,
- 19:50[SPEAKER_01]: those moments often happening before you're even aware that it's time to make a change.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_01]: but they will keep adding up and adding up and it's important to keep taking steps, the messy action and continue to do what you can with what you have.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_01]: We have a great episode, I think it's episode three, where you talked about our guest talk about how, like, you're never gonna see the top of the stairs, but you can see the first step.
- 20:19[SPEAKER_01]: And so you take that first step.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_01]: I guess what happens when you take the first step, the next step reveals itself.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_01]: If you listen to the intro of this podcast,
- 20:26[SPEAKER_01]: Right?
- 20:27[SPEAKER_01]: We talk about all the time.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_01]: Action Plains Clarity.
- 20:30[SPEAKER_01]: It's antidote to fear.
- 20:32[SPEAKER_01]: And be it, be it most of the time we're not stepping into our, we want to be, we're keeping the old version of yourself because we can't see the top of the stairs yet.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_01]: But you can dream about it, and you can take the messy action, and you can have kindness and gratitude for yourself, and others along the way, you do the best you can.
- 20:49[SPEAKER_01]: And what happens is,
- 20:52[SPEAKER_01]: When they hear the person you want to meet you're in the new version of yourself and look here's the if you are doing these things but you're stuck that's going to be our next series so if you're feeling stuck if you've been waiting for motivation if you feel like you know what you want but you're not doing it and you didn't know it's not because you're lazy you can go into some like old version of yourself things become lazy.
- 21:17[SPEAKER_01]: It's probably because you're still operating the new version of you on the old system, you know, like when we use old computers or old phones, how slow they are, right, this spending wheel of death comes up, yeah, that's that's just because you're trying to do the new you on the old system.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_01]: So we're going to dive in deeper to that in our next series.
- 21:37[SPEAKER_01]: But until then, take messy action, be it tell you see it.
- 21:43[SPEAKER_01]: It's a pretty great thing to shed something that no longer serves you and step into something that does.
- 21:50[SPEAKER_01]: So thanks so much, love.
- 21:51[SPEAKER_01]: I hope this series was fun for you.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_01]: Let me know what your takeaways are, your favorite parts or topics you want to touch.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_01]: Share those with a friend who is maybe outgrowing themselves and needs to know that they're not alone and they didn't do anything wrong and this is really great thing.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_01]: And until next time, be it till you see it.
