- 1:43This is show number 13, and it is
- 1:45episode number seven.
- 1:47Again, ending the master topic that we talked
- 1:49about.
- 1:50See it right, live it strong.
- 1:52Series five means that we are actually in
- 1:55the fifth year.
- 1:56We are not completing our fifth year.
- 1:58We completed our fourth year, so we're four
- 1:59years and a few more days, three months.
- 2:02That's what our master topic was this week
- 2:04and still is today for show 13, See
- 2:07It Right, Live It Strong.
- 2:08Hey, guys.
- 2:09If you don't know who I am, welcome.
- 2:10I'm John Seymour, a serial entrepreneur, engineer, marketing
- 2:14specialist, video producer, podcast host, coach, keynote speaker,
- 2:18graduate student, and guys, a passionate lifelong learner.
- 2:22I have one more thing to add to
- 2:24my repertoire, and that is I'm going to
- 2:26be a published author in less than 30
- 2:30days.
- 2:30I am so excited.
- 2:32Really.
- 2:33I'll tell you more about the book when
- 2:35we do the dedication, which will be on
- 2:36the 17th to my parents of April.
- 2:39That's coming up.
- 2:40This episode of Inspirations for Your Life, it
- 2:44dives into building real momentum, how consistent action,
- 2:48small wins, and deliberate momentum create unstoppable growth.
- 2:52Tonight, I'm exploring 30 powerful strategies that can
- 2:56show you how to act decisively, reinforce confidence,
- 3:00and turn your daily efforts into long-term
- 3:03successes.
- 3:04Whether for your personal life, business, or growth
- 3:08habits, these points will give clarity, focus, and
- 3:12energy to make your choices count.
- 3:15I think that's the most important thing.
- 3:17As I said, today is Friday.
- 3:21Today's granular topic, by the way, is how
- 3:23to build real momentum.
- 3:25Series five, show 13, episode number seven.
- 3:29Let's get right into that first point, because
- 3:31I know you guys are wondering what it
- 3:32is.
- 3:34A little swig of water there.
- 3:36Momentum changes everything, folks.
- 3:38Small actions spark big transformations.
- 3:41You don't have to move a giant mountain
- 3:44to start getting major transformations.
- 3:46I think that's an important thing to realize.
- 3:49Number two, guys, progress builds power.
- 3:52Consistent wins amplify your influence.
- 3:55And number three, keep moving forward.
- 3:58Even tiny steps accumulate over time, right?
- 4:03Number four, small wins matter.
- 4:06They compound into major results, so let's keep
- 4:10doing them.
- 4:12Number five, momentum builds confidence.
- 4:17Say it with me.
- 4:18Momentum builds confidence.
- 4:20Momentum builds confidence.
- 4:22Action reinforces belief in yourself.
- 4:25Action reinforces belief in yourself.
- 4:29See, if I tell you to do something,
- 4:32it's one thing.
- 4:33But when you've actually done it and you
- 4:34feel that euphoric feeling, your body like, oh,
- 4:38wow, this is a natural high.
- 4:39I want to keep doing this, that's what's
- 4:42going to do it.
- 4:48You guys get that?
- 4:49Hopefully you do.
- 4:50Number six, progress compounds.
- 4:53Daily effort multiplies long-term impact.
- 4:56It really does.
- 4:58So don't be discouraged because you're not where
- 5:01you want to be today.
- 5:02That is completely, guys, A-OK.
- 5:06Yeah, it is A-OK to know that.
- 5:10And I think if you realize that whole
- 5:13concept, I think it'll make a very big
- 5:19difference for you guys.
- 5:21And I say difference because a lot of
- 5:24people don't realize what difference means or why
- 5:29there is a difference.
- 5:30I think that's a very hard thing for
- 5:33a lot of people to understand.
- 5:35When I say the word difference, they're just
- 5:37saying, well, gee, what does it mean to
- 5:39me?
- 5:39How does that affect me?
- 5:41And I think that's an important piece that
- 5:44a lot of people, they get stuck on
- 5:46that, I mean, to be quite honest with
- 5:48you.
- 5:49And then they don't want to move forward
- 5:50anymore.
- 5:51Number seven, stay consistent.
- 5:55Repeat actions create unstoppable rhythm.
- 5:58It's like you get into that groove, right?
- 6:02You don't want to stop singing.
- 6:03You can't get the words and the melody
- 6:05out of your head.
- 6:06But this is a positive thing, right?
- 6:09Maybe you're exercising, and I can't wait to
- 6:11do it again because it feels so good
- 6:13to lift those weights.
- 6:14I know some people will say I'm crazy,
- 6:16but when you get into a habit and
- 6:19you enjoy it, your body keeps craving it,
- 6:22even if it is challenging.
- 6:23Number eight, guys, momentum creates results.
- 6:29Effort without delay converts to achievement.
- 6:33Effort without delay creates achievement.
- 6:36Effort without delay creates achievement.
- 6:38I think some people, they get a little
- 6:41bit upset because they're not seeing the achievement
- 6:44immediately.
- 6:45And that doesn't mean you should stop, guys.
- 6:48It means that you should think about what
- 6:50you're doing and keep pushing forward.
- 6:54Number nine, keep stacking wins.
- 6:59Layer successes to accelerate the growth in your
- 7:02life.
- 7:03Keep stacking them.
- 7:04I don't care if they're small stacks, if
- 7:07they're big stacks, just keep stacking them.
- 7:10That action alone is going to give you
- 7:13a natural euphoric feeling, okay?
- 7:16Raising the dopamine, the serotonin in our bodies
- 7:18to make us feel really good.
- 7:21So keep that stack going, right?
- 7:23Because it will accelerate your growth.
- 7:25Number 10, movement builds energy, okay?
- 7:30If you take your hands and you rub
- 7:33them together, guys can hear me doing this
- 7:35in front of the microphone, okay?
- 7:36For those of you not seeing me.
- 7:37And I do that really fast for a
- 7:39little while.
- 7:40Can you hear the rubbing of my hands?
- 7:42I do that for a while.
- 7:43Some of you are seeing me.
- 7:44Other people are like, what are you doing?
- 7:45I'm taking my two hands and I'm going
- 7:46up and down really fast.
- 7:48And I'm getting energy.
- 7:49I'm getting heat energy in my hands.
- 7:53Movement creates energy.
- 7:54That's a perfect example of that.
- 7:57So this same energy generates motivation and it
- 8:01creates more drive.
- 8:02This creates more heat, which makes me want
- 8:04to keep doing it.
- 8:05So it's a very positive cycle that keeps
- 8:10going around.
- 8:11And that's good when the cycle feeds and
- 8:14does something that's beneficial for us and others.
- 8:17All right, number 11, guys.
- 8:21Progress fuels growth.
- 8:23Consistent improvement creates exponential returns.
- 8:28So being consistent, showing up day in and
- 8:31day out, even if there's no return on
- 8:33day one, day two, day three, day four,
- 8:35day 30, you keep doing it, the consistency
- 8:38is going to guarantee you will get improvement.
- 8:42And it will be exponential because you're going
- 8:44to be so overwhelmed, like, oh my gosh,
- 8:47like this really changed.
- 8:49And that's the whole thing we're going for.
- 8:52It's just that it doesn't come in right
- 8:55away.
- 8:56But when it hits us, like, oh, wow,
- 8:59like where'd that come from?
- 9:01It came from you rubbing your hands, like
- 9:03I'm going to build up, right?
- 9:04We don't get heat in two seconds.
- 9:06It takes some time to build up that
- 9:07friction, that heat.
- 9:10Number 12, guys.
- 9:12Momentum builds belief.
- 9:14Forward motion strengthens commitment.
- 9:17Forward motion strengthens commitment.
- 9:21Number 13, guys.
- 9:23Keep going daily.
- 9:26Persistence will always outperform intermittent effort.
- 9:31You know, you might say, gee, you know,
- 9:32I only want to do this when I
- 9:35feel like it.
- 9:37And that might be once a month.
- 9:39That might be twice a year.
- 9:41But progress doesn't keep growing when you stop,
- 9:46right?
- 9:47If I take my hands and I stop
- 9:49after rubbing, well, the hands stop becoming warm.
- 9:53There's no more energy.
- 9:55Same thing happens with your motivation.
- 9:58Number 14, guys.
- 9:59Progress builds strength.
- 10:01Overcoming obstacles develops resilience.
- 10:05Now, I know overcoming obstacles is something where
- 10:07you're like, oh, I don't want to overcome
- 10:08an obstacle.
- 10:10You can do it.
- 10:11It's more of the fear of what it's
- 10:14like than you actually doing it.
- 10:16I think that's probably one of the most
- 10:18important things that I can actually tell you
- 10:21is that, you know, when you get over
- 10:25it and when you realize that you're doing
- 10:27something, like, wow, I'm doing it.
- 10:29I'm swimming.
- 10:29I'm reading.
- 10:31I'm learning.
- 10:32I'm doing whatever it is.
- 10:32And you're like, oh, wow, I'm doing it.
- 10:34That really creates a positive momentum in our
- 10:37bodies and our mind.
- 10:39Number 15, guys.
- 10:42Momentum creates a very unique sense of clarity.
- 10:47Consistent effort reduces indecision.
- 10:50It means we become very precise in what
- 10:52we want.
- 10:54But the more we do consistent effort, the
- 10:59more that our blinders get taken off, the
- 11:02more that we have the opportunity to see
- 11:05a different perspective.
- 11:07And I've said before, guys, that our perspective
- 11:09creates a reality.
- 11:10Our reality doesn't happen from nowhere.
- 11:15It happens from our perceptions.
- 11:16Our perceptions create our reality.
- 11:20That's what happens, guys.
- 11:22And when we can know that and know
- 11:27that we can be so crystal clear, we
- 11:32can mitigate and minimize indecision.
- 11:36See, indecision gets people upset, gets people sad,
- 11:40gets people depressed, gets people to quit.
- 11:47Indecision is just an obstacle in life that's
- 11:50testing us.
- 11:52So we can get past that so next
- 11:54time we are more clear, we are more
- 11:56precise.
- 11:57Number 16, guys.
- 11:58Stay committed.
- 11:59Long-term focus outperforms short-term distraction.
- 12:03Simple.
- 12:04Just keep performing over and over and over
- 12:08and over again.
- 12:09You might say, but, John, I'm tired.
- 12:11I don't want to do this.
- 12:13I'm not telling you to run a million
- 12:14miles.
- 12:15I'm telling you to do something comfortable.
- 12:17But I'm telling you that being uncomfortable means
- 12:21you're going to do something that may not
- 12:23be as pleasant, but you don't have to
- 12:25burn yourself out.
- 12:27For example, I might tell you to write
- 12:30with your left hand if you're a right
- 12:32-handed or if you're left-handed, I'll tell
- 12:33you to write with your right hand.
- 12:35And it's going to feel funny at first,
- 12:37not painful, but just different, awkward.
- 12:41And then you adjust to it and you
- 12:42realize, oh, wow, this is working.
- 12:44Like I'm getting better at ambidextrous.
- 12:48Number 17, guys.
- 12:50Progress builds identity.
- 12:53Of course, it defines our character as well.
- 12:56Repeat action shapes your personal brand.
- 13:02A lot of people I know that have
- 13:03a brand get so egotistical about it that
- 13:09they're not humble.
- 13:10And I think the humbleness in a brand
- 13:12can get people craving and running towards you.
- 13:19But when you start saying, oh, I'm this,
- 13:21I'm that, and I'm the best, and you
- 13:24have this ego, a strong ego, it's going
- 13:27to get people turned off.
- 13:29They're not going to want to learn from
- 13:30you.
- 13:31They're not going to want to be around
- 13:32you or even talk to you.
- 13:35That's important, guys.
- 13:37So progress builds identity.
- 13:41Repeat action, consistency, shapes your brand, shapes your
- 13:45character, shapes your integrity.
- 13:50Yeah.
- 13:52Your integrity doesn't build in five seconds.
- 13:55Your integrity builds by what you do when
- 13:58you're not around people.
- 14:00Because that's what you do all the time.
- 14:02And then when you're in front of people,
- 14:04it just resonates because that's how you are.
- 14:08Number 18, guys.
- 14:09Momentum creates success.
- 14:13Movement turns intention into achievement.
- 14:17It does.
- 14:18It turns intention into achievement.
- 14:23Number 19, keep pushing forward.
- 14:30Why?
- 14:32Persistence turns struggle into opportunity.
- 14:36Keep pushing forward.
- 14:38In all the challenges I've had in my
- 14:41life, I said, well, gee, this square peg
- 14:45isn't going through the round hole, but how
- 14:48can I make it go through the hole?
- 14:49What other thing could I do, right?
- 14:53If we can't get it through that hole,
- 14:55do I make the hole bigger?
- 14:57Do I shave off some of the block?
- 15:01What options do I have to get to
- 15:05my solution?
- 15:06What options?
- 15:09And life is a bunch of games where
- 15:11we have to play and be creative, but
- 15:14not get stressed because we didn't win.
- 15:17It's not like going to a basketball game
- 15:19or going to a football game like, oh,
- 15:21I didn't win and using all kinds of
- 15:23four-letter words.
- 15:24That's not what winning is.
- 15:26Winning is you deriving the strength to make
- 15:33the necessary adaptations so you can score that
- 15:39goal, so you can pass that soccer ball
- 15:41or that basketball or what have you.
- 15:46Most people say, well, gee, look at that
- 15:48person.
- 15:48He's doing it.
- 15:48Yeah, but what you don't know about that
- 15:50person is he was in the same boat
- 15:53you were five, ten, however many years ago.
- 15:56So you got to learn, too.
- 15:58So keep pushing forward.
- 16:02Persistence turns struggle into opportunity.
- 16:06And, again, that's one of those moments where
- 16:08it's not always pleasant.
- 16:11I didn't say painful.
- 16:13Just uncomfortable, just different, right?
- 16:16If I asked you tonight to brush your
- 16:21teeth with your opposite hand, if you're right
- 16:23-handed, use your left.
- 16:25If you're left-handed, use your right.
- 16:27And you could do it.
- 16:28It's not painful, but it's uncomfortable.
- 16:32You might learn something.
- 16:33You might realize that, gee, when I'm using
- 16:35this, I'm really not getting that back tooth,
- 16:39right?
- 16:40You're going to become more aware because you're
- 16:44going to get a different perception from the
- 16:46sense that you're now being part of.
- 16:51Number 20, guys.
- 16:54Number 20 is this.
- 16:56Progress builds confidence.
- 16:59Results will reinforce self-assurance.
- 17:06It's like a pat on the back.
- 17:08Good job.
- 17:09Good job.
- 17:10We don't need pats on the back from
- 17:11other people.
- 17:12We can create our own pats from getting
- 17:17that reinforcement of doing the task right.
- 17:22Now, that's not going to happen to you
- 17:24the very first time you do it.
- 17:25In fact, you're going to want to quit.
- 17:26You're going to want to give up.
- 17:31But that's when most people do give up.
- 17:36You need to hang on.
- 17:37I learned this from a wise scholar many
- 17:40years ago.
- 17:40John, the only difference between success and true
- 17:44failure is that the successful people just are
- 17:49able to hang on just a few seconds
- 17:51longer.
- 17:52That's it.
- 17:55And the ones that are not successful, they
- 17:58just drop immediately.
- 18:00Just a few seconds longer.
- 18:02That could be the difference of success.
- 18:06Number 21, guys.
- 18:11Momentum builds future.
- 18:15What you do today will shape your tomorrow.
- 18:18I'm going to say this two more times.
- 18:20What you do today shapes tomorrow.
- 18:23What you do today shapes tomorrow.
- 18:25Now, you might say, well, John, I didn't
- 18:26really want to do that.
- 18:27It doesn't matter if you want to do
- 18:28it or didn't want to do that.
- 18:31But if you keep doing it, that action
- 18:35is going to shape who you are and
- 18:37shape your behaviors and shape your outcomes in
- 18:40the future.
- 18:41So you are right now where the outcomes
- 18:44you are.
- 18:46I started learning something a long time ago.
- 18:48And it was about how to show up
- 18:51in this world.
- 18:52It's in my book.
- 18:53And so most people think the way to
- 18:57show up is to be loud, to be
- 18:58boisterous, to say I'm the best.
- 19:00I'm like the top.
- 19:02And, guys, that doesn't work.
- 19:04Just like nobody wants to be sold to.
- 19:06Nobody wants to be talked down to.
- 19:08Nobody wants to be demeaned.
- 19:14They are most of the time open to
- 19:16device and advice as long as you can
- 19:20do it in a manner that's respectful.
- 19:22They often tell people when you give advice,
- 19:25don't criticize the person or the character of
- 19:30the person.
- 19:30Say, look, you're a great person, and I
- 19:32think you're doing an amazing job.
- 19:33We just need to change two behaviors that
- 19:37are happening or two actions that are happening
- 19:39when this results.
- 19:41And now that takes it away from them.
- 19:43It's just a behavior.
- 19:44It's an action.
- 19:45It's not them.
- 19:48Like, hey, you're doing a great job.
- 19:49Just whenever we get a full shipping in,
- 19:51we just need this action happening instead of
- 19:54this action.
- 19:56Right?
- 19:57We need whoever is receiving it to index
- 20:01them calmly.
- 20:02And even if the shipping person gets you
- 20:04all rustled up, they need to just chill,
- 20:08and they need to stay on track because
- 20:10what's happening is the shipping people are beating
- 20:12us, and we're not getting our full deliveries,
- 20:15and that's a problem.
- 20:20And that's costing us thousands of dollars a
- 20:23year, let's just say.
- 20:23I'm giving you an example.
- 20:24That's just one idea.
- 20:26Number 22, guys.
- 20:30Stay focused.
- 20:32Eliminating distractions multiplies your output.
- 20:36That's it.
- 20:37Eliminating distractions will multiply your output.
- 20:40Why do some people not stay focused?
- 20:43Well, they get attention.
- 20:46They hear about something.
- 20:49Something else catches their eye, and they're not
- 20:53disciplined enough to stay on track.
- 20:58I remember being in grammar school in high
- 21:01school, and I remember that after school, I
- 21:05would come home, and I would do my
- 21:07homework, and then I would go out and
- 21:09play.
- 21:11Well, there was one time I came home,
- 21:13and a friend was coming over.
- 21:16I was like, well, I have to do
- 21:17my homework first.
- 21:18My mom was like, you can do your
- 21:20homework this weekend.
- 21:21Today's Friday.
- 21:21You can do your homework this weekend.
- 21:23Now, on Fridays, I went to a Catholic
- 21:25grammar school in high school.
- 21:27They usually didn't give homework on Fridays, but
- 21:30there were a couple that did, like one
- 21:33math teacher did, and they said, you know
- 21:35why?
- 21:36Because you're going to go to college, and
- 21:38they're going to assign homework all the time.
- 21:40It doesn't matter whether it's a holiday or
- 21:41not.
- 21:42They're going to assign homework, and you're going
- 21:45to need to do it.
- 21:47Number 23, guys.
- 21:49Progress will always trump out and win long
- 21:52-term.
- 21:53It just might seem like it's getting stepped
- 21:56on because you're not seeing the immediate gratification.
- 22:00You want the short-term instead of the
- 22:02long-term.
- 22:02The long-term takes longer, has more consequences,
- 22:05but has a better result.
- 22:09Consistency beats the intensity burst.
- 22:11If you're in a race, and you have
- 22:15to keep that race going for so many
- 22:17miles, if you run at your highest level,
- 22:23you're going to burn out.
- 22:26If you want to endure that race, you've
- 22:28got to throttle back between a medium and
- 22:30a high once in a while.
- 22:31You can't stay at that high the entire
- 22:33race.
- 22:33You will burn out.
- 22:36You'd get hurt too.
- 22:39Number 24, guys.
- 22:41Momentum builds power.
- 22:43Forward motion amplifies the influence.
- 22:46And I think sometimes when we don't see
- 22:48an influence directly in front of us, we're
- 22:50like, well, wait a minute.
- 22:52I don't know what I need to do,
- 22:55right?
- 22:56I don't know what I need to do,
- 22:58and I think that's a problem for a
- 23:01lot of people.
- 23:03I don't know what I should do or
- 23:04how I'm going to do it, right?
- 23:07I think that's a very important thing, again,
- 23:10for a lot of people.
- 23:11They don't realize what's happening and why things
- 23:15are happening that way, right?
- 23:18I think sometimes people get frustrated with themselves.
- 23:27They get frustrated.
- 23:30And this frustration causes a problem for everyone.
- 23:37Everyone, not just one person, guys.
- 23:46It happens for everyone.
- 23:50I think that's a very important thing to
- 23:55observe, that it happens to everyone.
- 24:01It doesn't just happen to you, right?
- 24:04That's really key.
- 24:07Number 25, guys.
- 24:09Keep building continual effort as a compound into
- 24:13mastery.
- 24:16You want to become a master at something?
- 24:18Keep practicing your craft.
- 24:20Don't ask when you're going to become a
- 24:22master.
- 24:23Keep doing it until you are a master.
- 24:26Because if you keep looking for mastery and
- 24:28it's not there, you're like, oh, I didn't
- 24:29get it yet.
- 24:30I'm going to stop.
- 24:31No, keep doing it.
- 24:33And when you become at that mastery level,
- 24:36you're like, wow, I'm good.
- 24:38I'm going to keep doing this.
- 24:39And you're going to get the pat on
- 24:41the back, even if no one else gives
- 24:42it to you.
- 24:43Number 26, guys.
- 24:45Progress creates change.
- 24:46Incremental improvements create breakthroughs.
- 24:50That's key.
- 24:52The incrementalness.
- 24:53Number 27.
- 24:56Momentum drives success.
- 24:59Action produces measurable outcomes.
- 25:01It does.
- 25:03Number 28, stay in motion.
- 25:05Even small steps prevent stagnation, guys.
- 25:08Even the small steps.
- 25:10It doesn't have to be the big ones.
- 25:12Number 29.
- 25:15Progress defines you.
- 25:18Your habits become your identity.
- 25:20It becomes your character.
- 25:21It becomes your integrity.
- 25:24Number 30, our last point.
- 25:26Momentum creates your life.
- 25:30Deliberate action is the ultimate leverage that you
- 25:33can have.
- 25:36And in closing tonight, I want to share
- 25:40something that I think is really important for
- 25:43all of you listening and all of you
- 25:45watching.
- 25:46And I encourage you to go back to
- 25:47BelieveMeAchieve.com after the show and watch this
- 25:50and other shows because there's a lot of
- 25:52nuggets in this show.
- 25:53And I don't expect you to get them
- 25:55all in just one watch or listening.
- 26:00Momentum, guys, isn't about the speed.
- 26:02It's about the consistent, deliberate action that compounds
- 26:06over time.
- 26:09Learn, guys, how to apply these 30 strategies
- 26:12that I shared with you this evening every
- 26:15single day of your life.
- 26:16You don't have to do every one of
- 26:18them, but pick one or two.
- 26:20And keep doing that consistently.
- 26:22Eventually, you'll get to all of them.
- 26:24Track your wins and see how these small,
- 26:28subtle efforts become extraordinary results.
- 26:33It's like a snowball.
- 26:35It starts really small.
- 26:36And it goes roll, roll, roll, roll, roll.
- 26:38And it becomes this 50- or 200
- 26:40-foot boulder.
- 26:44I think that's the point.
- 26:47When we see something snowballing and it's so
- 26:50quick, we're like, wow.
- 26:51But when it takes days or months for
- 26:55that to build up, a perfect example is
- 26:57sea glass.
- 27:01And a wise person once told me, John,
- 27:04we are like the sea glass.
- 27:08The earth refines us and smooths us out.
- 27:12I think that's pretty amazing.
- 27:14So the sea glass takes a long time
- 27:16to get the rough edges out.
- 27:19Well, the world takes some time to get
- 27:21the rough edges out of us, so we're
- 27:23much better people.
- 27:25And you'll get extraordinary results.
- 27:27That's important.
- 27:28You can catch every episode, guys, of Inspirations
- 27:31to Your Life at BelieveMeAchieve.com.
- 27:33And you could step into clarity.
- 27:36Take action, guys, with intention.
- 27:39And live deliberately every day.
- 27:42Momentum is yours.
- 27:45Are you willing to go get it?
- 27:50That's the choice.

- 27:53and a great evening.
