- 0:00Some disturbing news tonight, and F thirty five fighter jet crashed in South Carolina
- 0:07after pilot was ejected. The pilot, thank god, was taken to a
- 0:14hospital after parachuting the safety into a North Charleston neighborhood about two pm on Sunday.
- 0:22But for the Air Force that's celebrating seventy six years of existence as one
- 0:30a military of the military's branches, what's even more disturbing about this is not
- 0:36just that had happened to what eighty to one hundred million dollars jet and then
- 0:40it just kept flying and missing after this pilot was ejected, only to find
- 0:49out they found debris today. It's the third event. It's the third event
- 0:57documented as a Class A mishap over the past two weeks. Do you know
- 1:00a kind of mishapp that means it's an instant when damages reach two point five
- 1:08million dollars or more, a Department of Defense aircraft is destroyed, or someone
- 1:15dies or is permanently disabled. It looks like all three of these things definitely
- 1:22happened to an eighty to one hundred million dollars jet, and the memes are
- 1:30going around and ha ha, But this is a serious thing because I jumped
- 1:36over to CNN, Yes, CNN, and I read this headline written by
- 1:45Zachary be Wolf of CNN. He said that jet the Marines lost, taxpayers
- 1:52will pay one point seven trillion dollars for the F thirty five program. So
- 1:57here's the thing. We talk about accessibility, accountability, and adaptability on this
- 2:02podcast. Well, now we have to adapt to paying for three Class A
- 2:08mishaps involving the F thirty five program. They even asked the public to help.
- 2:21Okay, that's how bad it was. They said, f F thirty
- 2:29five is gone missing, gidding up fight. I saw it on a tree
- 2:31that a friend of mine texting me, are you kidding me? Our military
- 2:40lost and F thirty five a self fighter jet. The exact money is around
- 2:53one hundred million dollars. Wolf says the entire program for that thirty five is
- 2:58on track to cost one point seven trillion dollars over the lifetime of the plane.
- 3:02He adds trillion with a T joint based. Charleston then posted a social
- 3:13media mean immediately for information. I guess the biggest question here is not so
- 3:23much that went missing, but why did the pilot eject himself? Was he
- 3:28self ejected? Did the plane eject him? What that'll happened to the pilot
- 3:31here? That's my big question. We can ask how we lost it,
- 3:38but I wonder how we got ejected from the plane? Is it this thing
- 3:46AI generated? I mean, I know everything else they want to do as
- 3:47AI generated, like electric vehicle. Is this an electric vehicle? And we
- 3:51don't know. Did it just self eject the pilot in the middle of North
- 3:57Carolina? Like? What the flip? It's a self fighter jet by the
- 4:14way, and this has been a program for a long time, by the
- 4:26way, but I really, I really gotta figure out who got the contract
- 4:39for us. We've been talking a little bit about defense contract contracts. Were
- 4:44they Was it vetted properly to give them the contract for this program? And
- 4:51by the way, lockeed Marky Martin is the defense contract uh M reward ee
- 5:00if you will, And Zach Wolf went on to say, guess what.
- 5:05Here's the statement that Lockee Martin said. The global F thirty five fleet has
- 5:10surpassed more than seven hundred twenty one thousand cumulative flight hours spans seventeen nations and
- 5:16three US military services since thirty fives began flying seventeen years ago. There's been
- 5:23one pilot fatality, less than ten come from destroyed aircraft. More than nine
- 5:28hundred sixty five thirty fives have been delivered and more than four hundred and thirty
- 5:31thousand sorties completed. But I think this has to due with red tape.
- 5:45There's a reason why. Apparently the Accountability of the Government Accountability Office is saying
- 5:53this program is more than a decade behind scheduled and one hundred eighty three billion
- 5:57dollars over original costs. You know, if you tapped Elon Musk instead of
- 6:01investigating him to do something like this, he would have got his team,
- 6:05his group together to do something even better. But no, let's go after
- 6:16Elon Musk because he's the bad guy in this whole situation. Meanwhile, he
- 6:19probably might have created better f thirty fives for you. And maybe if you
- 6:24ordered him a defense contract, we'd be in a different place. A pilot
- 6:29wouldn't not be ejected from its plane. Just thinking outside the box here,
- 6:34Department of Defense, just thinking out of the box here, DJ, Even
- 6:38though you want to go after Musk, right right, But I and I
- 6:47know there's a music thing. I know ambas music. But I'm fired up
- 6:51because when you want to hold when you feel like we when we feel like
- 6:58we should hold the govern accountable. And thank God, this pilot is okay.
- 7:03But I'll tell you what, God is a funny way of doing things.
- 7:08And maybe if we didn't know that two other mishaps happened, we wouldn't
- 7:13have cared about this third one. But because the third one made a real
- 7:16big splash crash if you will, well guess what it's time to tell you.
- 7:25There have been other mishaps like this. There are other training exercises that
- 7:29go awry and helicopters go crashing. We just don't talk about it enough.
- 7:36It becomes a headline for one second and boom, notifications done and that's it.
- 7:42But if we're putting one point seven trillion dollars into this military jet program,
- 7:46shouldn't we have a say in who gets the contract? Maybe these defense
- 7:53contracts should be voted on by we the people, since we're paying for the
- 7:58fricking program. How about that one leg up with Alex Scarrett listeners. And
- 8:03by the way, you might ask, what else to do with the culture,
- 8:05what els to do with society? Well, we as a culture are
- 8:07paying for this. This has become a cultural issue now because it's been memed,
- 8:11and it makes the government look stupid for losing a one hundred million dollars
- 8:16jet. But then I want to tie something else into it because I don't
- 8:24know for sure. I don't think it's true. I don't think this pilot
- 8:28has PTSD. But we found out here the One Leg Up with Alex Scarrett
- 8:35podcast found out that the FA FAA is suspecting nearly five thousand pilots are concealing
- 8:43medical issues to keep flying. That's right, five thousand civilian pilots maybe providing
- 8:52false information or excluding it during their medical examinations in order to continue flying.
- 8:58And you know what they're flying. You know what they're flying. They're flying,
- 9:13uh, commercial airlines, commercial airlines who fly for Part one twenty one
- 9:33cargo and Part one thirty five charter or tour operators. But yeah, we
- 9:43have commercial airline pilots, according to the FAA, who might have some kind
- 9:48of medical condition that could otherwise ground them. Because these pilots all so we're
- 10:00trying to double dip to getting VA benefits. So you want to get your
- 10:09VA benefits, and you want to be an FAA affiliated pilot, and by
- 10:20June of twenty twenty one, forty eight hundred cases of FAA database of veterans
- 10:30certified as civilian pilots also at disability benefits through the VA. How is this
- 10:43allowed that commercial airlines are being flown by a number of pilots that might be
- 10:56otherwise grounded. Doesn't that should that scare us? Or should we just be
- 11:01used to anything in society today? Should this be a norm or not?
- 11:11Should this be acceptable? Seven hundred sixty five thirty seven hundred and sixty five
- 11:24pilots reported healthcare avoidance because they feared losing their medical certification. This is two
- 11:35thirds of pilots could be obscuring information. So two thirds of our pilots could
- 11:43be in this situation, could be flying a commercial airline. And you know
- 11:50they said, maybe the guy that was flying the Malaysia Airlines flight that disappeared,
- 11:56maybe he had some pta, had some issue mental discrepancy there that led
- 12:05him to crash that flight or lead it to disappear. By the way,
- 12:18there's an investigation back to two thousand and two called Operations Safe Pilot. All
- 12:24this which I can link up in the description below from Freight Waves, which
- 12:30picked up on the story originally posted by the Washington Post, and I picked
- 12:35it up at the Star Ledger from Newark. They actually have some really good
- 12:39stories that impact us all, I think. But if this thing's going all
- 12:48the way back to nearly twenty years ago, twenty one years ago, then
- 12:56why has the problem continued? Because I believe of the red tape. There
- 13:03is government red tape that probably led these aircrafts to be allowed to fly the
- 13:09UP thirty five without any kind of advanced check up, God forbid. And
- 13:20it's probably the same kind of culture within the FAA h we just allowed it.
- 13:26FA affiliate physicians telling pilots don't don't write that down that you had VA
- 13:33benefits and you might have a disability of preventing you from from flying. But
- 13:45two thirds, two thirds of the number, I want you to know,
- 13:48two thirds could be flying commercial airlines. Of these five thousand pilots concealing mesnical
- 13:56issues to keep flying that should be otherwise grounded. We don't know what happened
- 14:05today, and we damn should get some answers about that F thirty five if
- 14:11we're going to be paying into it. Millions and millions and millions, trillions
- 14:15of dollars one point seven trillion, to be honest. But until we fully
- 14:24get answers, we'll speculate, we'll make memes, but we should also know
- 14:31some real facts here. And the fact that stands out in my mind is
- 14:37that these pilots in the military or out of the military seems to easily become
- 14:45civilian pilots for commercial airlines and Torah airplanes as well. But now this is
- 14:56all brought to light, So my question is, what's the FAA gonna do
- 14:58about it, and what's the VIA gonna do about it? And if they're
- 15:09being lied to, by the way, there's six hundred thousand certified pilots by
- 15:18the FAA, they're being lied to, they's just take action. And right
- 15:26now about sixty pilots of the five thousand have been suspended temporarily to correct records
- 15:33and undergo new air medical examinations to restore their medical certificates. But of course
- 15:45it took a media outlet to figure this out because the FAA, according to
- 15:50the Washington Post and elsewhere, FA largely hidden the investigation from the public.
- 15:56Gee, don't you think we should know this? Fay. If we are
- 16:00supportsed to rely on pilots to get us to and fro in the air,
- 16:04shouldn't we know that there's a class of pilots. And thank you for your
- 16:10service to the veterans of the commercial airlines, thank you for those who fought
- 16:17the war. But I have a problem with you double dipping, because that
- 16:23double dipping could be harmful for regular passengers just trying to get to and from
- 16:30safely. And I don't know if this pilot that was ejected today we'll fly
- 16:38again. We'll be too traumatized or too physically injured to fly again. But
- 16:45it all adds up. It's like a free for all in the skies thanks
- 16:55to bureaucratic red tape. And the bureaucratic red tape is also the concealing of
- 17:02this information. So I hope that we get answers more and more from the
- 17:07FAA. I hope we get answers more and more from the Air Force on
- 17:14what happened today and the American military and the Department of Defense, and that
- 17:23the red tape can finally be removed from this administration so that we can get
- 17:27clear and honest answers. Wouldn't that be great. Wouldn't that be nice?
- 17:33Wouldn't it be great? We have to worry about pilots that might have some
- 17:37kind of neurological disorder from their time in war. I hope. I don't
- 17:47scare you to fly tonight or tomorrow, but it's something you should know and
- 17:55something we should keep track of, because that's part of the podcast Missions to
- 18:00Hold Accountable. It's talk about accountability, accessibility, and adaptability. And I
- 18:07think we should hold the FAA accountable for this. I think we should hold
- 18:11the Department Offense accountable for this, and the Air Force accountable for this,
- 18:18and especially because we're taxpayers. But I also think that we should be holding
- 18:33well asking questions, asking questions of these agencies and see where they go with
- 18:45it, see how many cases get closed where they properly discipline a pilot who's
- 18:52lied to the VA or the FAA. Really the FAA because the airwaves and
- 19:06what goes on in the sky is part of our culture too, because millions
- 19:10of people we love and no travel by plane. So yes, this is
- 19:15a cultural issue that I'm talking about, not just because the memes are made
- 19:21today, but because we have real lives in the hands of real life pilots.
- 19:29Every day there's a takeoff from any of our major airports or minor airports,
- 19:33those pilots choose to take those lives into their hands. And I think
- 19:40we should be damned if we let concealing continue without pressuring the FAY to do
- 19:48something about it. And we'll be damned if we don't get answers from the
- 19:56Department Defense about what happened today. And also the other class A mishaps that'd
- 20:00been going on in the last few weeks. Would be nice snow, wouldn't
- 20:04it links to all of this? To break it down more is going to
- 20:08be in the description below, But I just feel like you won't hear these
- 20:12stories elsewhere. That's why I want to bring into your attention. And I
- 20:17felt like Culture in the Sky was a great topic tonight because there's some shenanigry
- 20:30going on. And we'll talk to you soon on One Leg Up with Alex Garrett.
