Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: It has just gone twenty seven after five. So ever
- 0:03Speaker 1: wondered what the funniest joke in the world is, Well,
- 0:06Speaker 1: I can tell you because the Edinburgh Fringe Festival has
- 0:08Speaker 1: declared the funniest joke. It's a ship gag, a gag
- 0:12Speaker 1: about a ship, as in like a vessel that goes
- 0:14Speaker 1: a boat that goes in the ocean. And to be honest,
- 0:18Speaker 1: it's not that funny. And maybe I'm just getting older
- 0:21Speaker 1: and minjia about life. I don't know, maybe I don't
- 0:23Speaker 1: find things as funny anymore. Movies. Have you ever tried
- 0:27Speaker 1: to find a funny movie lately? Have you managed to
- 0:29Speaker 1: find one? No, because they don't make them anymore. They
- 0:33Speaker 1: certainly don't make jokes that are actually funny at the
- 0:36Speaker 1: Edinburgh Fringe Festival. And I should preface this by saying that, look,
- 0:40Speaker 1: I'm not funny, so you know it is a hard
- 0:42Speaker 1: thing to do. I get it. But I just wonder
- 0:44Speaker 1: whether we're not being a little too safe with our comedy,
- 0:47Speaker 1: something Jerry Seinfeld spoke about when he was in New
- 0:49Speaker 1: Zealand recently. People can't push the boundaries anymore. Let me
- 0:52Speaker 1: just read you. There's a few in the top ten
- 0:55Speaker 1: funniest jokes at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. And actually you
- 1:00Speaker 1: can try and guess is this a joke, you know,
- 1:02Speaker 1: is this a comedy festival or is this from a
- 1:04Speaker 1: Christmas Cracker? Number one I was going to sail around
- 1:07Speaker 1: the globe in the world's smallest ship, but I bottled it.
- 1:12Speaker 1: That was literally the funniest joke at the end of
- 1:14Speaker 1: Fringe Festival. And maybe because I'm reading these from a story,
- 1:17Speaker 1: maybe it's the delivery that's funny. Maybe that's what's missing.
- 1:20Speaker 1: But I've been taking souls lessons for months, but I
- 1:24Speaker 1: just don't feel like I'm progressing. It's just one step forward,
- 1:27Speaker 1: two steps back. That was the second funniest joke. Number three.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Eight horse at a restaurant once wasn't great. Starter was
- 1:35Speaker 1: all right, but the main was dreadful. Do you want
- 1:40Speaker 1: to keep going? I sailed through my driving test, That's
- 1:43Speaker 1: why I failed. That's number four.
- 1:46Speaker 2: These are not Christmas Cracker jokes. These are from the
- 1:50Speaker 2: Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Whatever happened to the really good ones do?
- 1:54Speaker 2: My favorite comedian was Joan Rivers. She was rude and
- 1:58Speaker 2: shocking and outrageous, hilarious and actually a real pioneer and
- 2:04Speaker 2: a trailblazer for women in her field as well. But
- 2:07Speaker 2: you know, while she's dead and so good jokes, it seems.
