- 0:01SPEAKER_00: What's up?
- 0:04SPEAKER_00: Well, I've got some sort of a leak in the wall at my restaurant.
- 0:10SPEAKER_00: And so today was the day I thought, oh, we'll have the plumber over, we'll pull the wall out, we'll fix that by lunch.
- 0:18SPEAKER_00: But it's one thing turning to another.
- 0:20SPEAKER_00: Takes the wooden wall out, and then it doesn't seem to be there.
- 0:23SPEAKER_00: And then he's like, maybe it's over here in the bathroom.
- 0:25SPEAKER_00: And then he's taking out tile.
- 0:28SPEAKER_00: And then it wasn't there.
- 0:29SPEAKER_00: And he said maybe it's this uh condensation, AC condensation, and he busted out some wall there, and it didn't seem to be there.
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's just hard to take down a leak sometimes.
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: So now we're back 20-30 feet at the ice machine, and we're thinking it might be the ice machine is um when it's running and dumping water, it's got a leak in that pipe, and then that's running down the wall, and then turning the corner and going to the lowest spot where we see it, where it looks like it's right behind the dish sink in the kitchen, but it's not, it's coming from a whole nother area.
- 1:07SPEAKER_00: And you know, this guy's smart, he's gonna figure it out, but uh it's not fun because the restaurant just keep keeps getting further and further pulled apart.
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: I'm leaving town tomorrow.
- 1:18SPEAKER_00: I gotta get it all put back together.
- 1:20SPEAKER_01: I mean, I I I got a spoiler alert here.
- 1:23SPEAKER_01: Anyone can figure out where the leak is from if you just continue taking down walls.
- 1:28SPEAKER_01: I could do that.
- 1:29SPEAKER_01: I could just keep busting down walls and go, oh, there it is.
- 1:33SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:35SPEAKER_01: Don't you have like tools?
- 1:36SPEAKER_01: Aren't there tools to go like, oh, I hear you you can people can find like water underground.
- 1:43SPEAKER_01: I've I've I've seen it.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: I wish it was that simple.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: So it's not a if it's a supply leak, like a under pressure leak, it would be different than what we're seeing.
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: What we're seeing is not like water pooling and pooling and pooling, it's like a really, really slow leak over time.
- 2:01SPEAKER_00: And so it's probably more of a drain, a drainage leak.
- 2:04SPEAKER_00: And when you're looking for, I mean, it just makes it harder to find because but it doesn't drip, but it doesn't leak as much, it leaks really slowly.
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: But when we get into these walls, we're like, oh, this has been leaking for years.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: Like this is like the smallest little leak you've ever seen for the last five years.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: And so, but then we we had the wall off right behind the kitchen on the behind the kitchen, uh, the dishwasher, the dish uh sink and the dishwasher.
- 2:33SPEAKER_00: And uh it was on the other side of the dishwasher, which is the ladies' room.
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: So we have the wall off, and then I see a couple little roaches in there.
- 2:41SPEAKER_00: I'm like, what the hell?
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: We never see roaches.
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: I mean, you don't get any roaches, we got our pest control and everything else, but inside that wall, there's some roaches.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: So I call the pest control, I say, Hey, I want, you know, can you get the guy to come by today?
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: Because we got this wall open.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: I want to get sprayed inside this wall a little bit.
- 2:57SPEAKER_00: Then I sit down, then like, yeah, yeah, he'll be there in about an hour.
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: Then the plumber goes to get something, and then I sit down in the office for a minute to just try to cancel ATT for my daughter's house who's moving.
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: And while I'm sitting in there, for the five minutes I'm sitting in there, the um the guy who I'm sure I would see, or he'd come find me, the Jason, who does the the pest control, he comes in, sprays the hell out of everything, and leaves.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: And then I get up and then and then and then the plumber comes back and goes, Did you spray poison in here?
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: And then I walk in there, and yeah, the whole area where we're working that we're trying to dry out with fans and see if we can see where the water is coming from.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: The whole area now smells poison.
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: He's just sprayed up the whole thing and left.
- 3:42SPEAKER_00: He didn't come in and say, Where do you want me to?
- 3:43SPEAKER_00: Because I was gonna spray, I want you to spray over here and over there and over here.
- 3:48SPEAKER_00: He just sprayed the whole area we were working in with poison.
- 3:53SPEAKER_00: But and you know, that's what happens, stuff happens, stuff happens.
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: No, so anyway, it's and I'm like, you know, tomorrow I'm kind of uh, you know, it things are I'm changing gears here, going out of town.
- 4:06SPEAKER_00: So I'm just like, oh boy.
- 4:08SPEAKER_00: Um, well, uh, you know, I guess I'll just one thing at a time, one thing at a time.
- 4:14SPEAKER_00: So I'm gonna stop, go get some lunch, come back and tackle it again.
- 4:17SPEAKER_00: Start, I'm gonna try to start putting some things back together where I know the leak isn't.
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: And then we're gonna start looking towards the ice machine.
- 4:24SPEAKER_00: What's going on in uh sunny California, sunny Southern California?
- 4:29SPEAKER_01: Well, not that.
- 4:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah, not not what you got going on.
- 4:33SPEAKER_00: I mean, yeah, restaurant business, man.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: It's so great.
- 4:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I have um well, my morning was, you know, we've got we've got a dog circling the drain that that is has dementia and just walks around in circles and doesn't understand much of anything anymore, and uh, I just follow him around.
- 4:55SPEAKER_01: Um my wife, of course, is recovering from her surgery, and um that's that's you know uh she's recovered?
- 5:04SPEAKER_01: She's recovering.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: Recovering, okay.
- 5:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah, she had like a little um wasn't it like um a pinched nerve or something?
- 5:12SPEAKER_01: No, she was she had a fusion done with a fusion?
- 5:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 5:17SPEAKER_01: Um and then my my father-in-law had had an had an issue this morning where he got stuck at the gym because he's got an ear problem that that doesn't allow him to drive, so we had to go get him.
- 5:30SPEAKER_01: It's been for you and me this morning, it's been pretty pretty uh hectic.
- 5:37SPEAKER_01: Eventful?
- 5:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
