- 0:55Speaker 2: I've been dying to tell you this.
- 0:56Speaker 1: Please go for it. One more word.
- 0:58Speaker 2: The gun run was on the weekend.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Yes, Archeron's gun run. Yes.
- 1:01Speaker 4: And?
- 1:01Speaker 2: My puppy ran. She got a medal.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Your puppy ran the pet walk, the five kilometer. Congratulations.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Papa did her first race. She is one years old.
- 1:11Speaker 2: She ran five kilometers in 44 minutes.
- 1:15Speaker 1: That is a record, if you ask me.
- 1:17Speaker 2: She's got a medal and everything.
- 1:18Speaker 1: Usually for pets, especially dogs, running can be rough. But
- 1:23Speaker 1: for that lovely dog, it was chilled. Yeah. Congratulations.
- 1:26Speaker 2: She's got a medal and everything. This is so cute.
- 1:28Speaker 2: I was very proud.
- 1:30Speaker 1: Aww. See, that makes me smile. I like that. Thank
- 1:34Speaker 1: you very much. I appreciate that. So over the weekend,
- 1:37Speaker 1: I went to a certain friend's birthday party.
- 1:40Speaker 4: Yes.
- 1:40Speaker 1: And it was in the south. And then Cassidy says
- 1:44Speaker 1: to me, hey, you know what? I want to send,
- 1:45Speaker 1: because it's a mutual friend, I want to send over
- 1:48Speaker 1: a crystal. I'm like, why do I want to send
- 1:49Speaker 1: a crystal? No, because the person from the south. I'm like,
- 1:51Speaker 1: come on. This person's different from anyone from the south.
- 1:54Speaker 1: So I go to this person's party and I'm sitting
- 1:57Speaker 1: on the couch and I turn around. And there are
- 1:59Speaker 1: like six to nine crystals.
- 2:01Speaker 2: Carl, I know my people.
- 2:03Speaker 1: All set up. And I was like, does everybody in
- 2:05Speaker 1: the South collect crystals? Like deep, deep South, right? It's
- 2:08Speaker 1: deep South.
- 2:10Speaker 5: I've got one of those like gorgeous bowls next to
- 2:12Speaker 5: my bed and it's just got crystals in it.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Okay, I got you. So hold on. Hold on. So
- 2:19Speaker 1: the thing is, is it so this deep South collects crystals? Yeah.
- 2:22Speaker 1: We in the North collect firewood.
- 2:25Speaker 2: It's the same thing.
- 2:26Speaker 1: Is it the same thing?
- 2:26Speaker 2: It's for a rainy day in case.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Like rooikrans, kamildoering, blue gum, red gum, the works.
- 2:34Speaker 5: Bad vibes, friend comes to your house and tells you
- 2:36Speaker 5: too much information and now you need to get rid
- 2:38Speaker 5: of that. You know, just also to lift your spirits
- 2:41Speaker 5: for protection, for good luck.
- 2:42Speaker 2: You get it.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Blue gum, geersvier, kamildoering, lekkerpoeikie. You've got rooikrans, good for
- 2:47Speaker 1: nice braais, grapevine that you can use for fish.
- 2:51Speaker 5: Yeah, we have to stay creative.
- 2:53Speaker 2: All these different things, right? And that's what the crystal does.
- 2:56Speaker 2: It could, but it also could not.
- 2:57Speaker 1: I like this. All right, so the South collects crystals,
- 3:00Speaker 1: we collect firewood. It's very nice to get to know
- 3:02Speaker 1: all of these places. But welcome to a show that's
- 3:04Speaker 1: absolutely stacked this week. There are chances to win. with
- 3:08Speaker 1: clicks a two and a half thousand rand cash back
- 3:09Speaker 1: if you've been shopping for greek yogurt you're gonna win
- 3:12Speaker 1: later there's also a brand new competition you have to
- 3:15Speaker 1: unmask the track i'm gonna play you a montage of
- 3:17Speaker 1: five different songs identify them all and win the maximum
- 3:20Speaker 1: five thousand rand that's with andalex i'm gonna call your
- 3:23Speaker 1: boss later to get you a day off we're gonna
- 3:24Speaker 1: do psychology we're gonna do the one up and then
- 3:26Speaker 1: the concept this week has been moved to 22 seven
- 3:29Speaker 1: tell friends and family who know what the answer is
- 3:32Speaker 1: You could be winning a very big prize from us,
- 3:34Speaker 1: a donated one at flash.kfm.co.za. Welcome to your show. Let's
- 3:38Speaker 1: do this thing. Pitbull, Kesha, starting you off. Tay-Tay, Elizabeth Taylor,
- 3:46Speaker 1: it's on your show, The Flash Drive on KFM 94.5.
- 3:49Speaker 1: It's been a lovely weekend, hopefully for you. If it hasn't,
- 3:53Speaker 1: let us make it better, man. Psychology is coming up
- 3:55Speaker 1: later and there's many chances to win. However, while you
- 3:57Speaker 1: were working, I was working for you. I'm going to
- 3:59Speaker 1: go off the bat, straight off the bat. Okay, let's
- 4:00Speaker 1: hear it. Right. Did you hear about, there's a, it's
- 4:06Speaker 1: been spoken about on radio many times, but then I
- 4:07Speaker 1: saw that it's been spotlighted in the news now. It
- 4:11Speaker 1: is about what we wear as Capetonians because of a
- 4:13Speaker 1: certain Reddit thread. around the apparel that we choose to wear.
- 4:17Speaker 1: People are heading out into public areas, and this has been,
- 4:20Speaker 1: I feel, almost a cultural thing. I mean, we're edging
- 4:23Speaker 1: toward Heritage Day. Pajamas, bonnets, and slippers in public places
- 4:29Speaker 1: and spaces. One Reddit user on this particular thread questioned
- 4:33Speaker 1: when sleepwear became acceptable outside the house, saying it gives
- 4:36Speaker 1: the impression that someone has simply jumped off bed and
- 4:39Speaker 1: headed straight into shops. Judging by the discussion, this is
- 4:42Speaker 1: clearly a topic people have feelings about. Some see it
- 4:44Speaker 1: as comfort and convenience. Others seem to think there are
- 4:47Speaker 1: still occasions when putting on actual clothes is worth the effort.
- 4:54Speaker 1: So here's the thing.
- 4:55Speaker 6: Yep.
- 4:57Speaker 1: Tell me how you really feel, Cassidy, because you had
- 4:58Speaker 1: a little bit of a look. I did. So what
- 5:00Speaker 1: is the look on your face about?
- 5:03Speaker 2: I think, first of all, you don't know what someone's
- 5:05Speaker 2: going through. Leave people alone.
- 5:07Speaker 5: And the next thing, is just like focus on yourself.
- 5:10Speaker 5: I would never leave the house in inside clothes. That's
- 5:13Speaker 5: just how I feel.
- 5:14Speaker 2: I like being put together. It makes me feel good.
- 5:17Speaker 5: But I mean, if someone just needs to go and
- 5:20Speaker 5: get something from the shop or whatever it is, then fine.
- 5:23Speaker 5: But if you're going to the waterfront and you're just
- 5:26Speaker 5: going to go and like bloom at the waterfront for
- 5:28Speaker 5: the day, have something to eat, chill there by the amphitheater,
- 5:32Speaker 5: then I think you need to have a little bit
- 5:34Speaker 5: of decorum for the space.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Do you know what I'm saying?
- 5:37Speaker 5: But if someone's just going down to the little corner
- 5:39Speaker 5: shop and they're in their little bonnets and their pajamas
- 5:42Speaker 5: or whatever, and they have all intention of going.
- 5:44Speaker 2: Back home, whatever.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Do you know that it was us that created these
- 5:50Speaker 1: boundaries between spaces and created this thing called Of where
- 5:55Speaker 1: to wear things and where not to wear things.
- 5:56Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 5:57Speaker 1: You understand what I'm saying? So if there's nothing sort of,
- 5:59Speaker 1: I'm going to say, inappropriately exposed with regard to that
- 6:02Speaker 1: that could have some sort of offense on individuals around,
- 6:05Speaker 1: then if you have sturdy pajamas, like I've got a
- 6:08Speaker 1: pajamas that looks like a tracksuit. I'm going to wear
- 6:11Speaker 1: my pajamas and I'll probably wear my Crocs or my
- 6:14Speaker 1: slippers and I'll go to the clicks down the road.
- 6:17Speaker 1: That's fine. And I'll be very fine with that. I'll
- 6:19Speaker 1: be okay with it. You understand what I'm saying?
- 6:20Speaker 2: That's fine.
- 6:22Speaker 1: I know that there's some 90s. that look like dresses.
- 6:25Speaker 5: I've got a nightie that's like a long silk nightie
- 6:27Speaker 5: that could look like a summer dress. But again, I'm
- 6:30Speaker 5: not going to go to the theater in my pajamas
- 6:32Speaker 5: and I'm not going to go to like a Michelin
- 6:35Speaker 5: star restaurant in pajamas.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Oh, those spaces, I think it's quite exciting, the dress
- 6:39Speaker 1: up theater and restaurant. Decorum, right? I think that's exciting.
- 6:42Speaker 1: I feel like even beyond decorum, I think it's exciting
- 6:45Speaker 1: to do a little bit of a dress up. All right.
- 6:47Speaker 1: But it's been a big thing and the thread has
- 6:50Speaker 1: got a spotlight at the moment and whatever your stance is,
- 6:53Speaker 1: I am of the opinion that, you know, you said it.
- 6:58Speaker 1: You said you don't know what someone's going through. And
- 7:01Speaker 1: they wanted to run out quickly and do their thing.
- 7:03Speaker 1: And they want to grab something very quickly in the shops.
- 7:05Speaker 1: And that's what they want to do. And, you know,
- 7:07Speaker 1: you go do you. I think it's like saying the
- 7:12Speaker 1: jeans that I'm wearing. Oh, terrible jeans. Terrible jersey you're wearing, Carl.
- 7:17Speaker 1: Terrible cap. Like you're being very judgmental on what I'm wearing.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 7:20Speaker 1: You understand what I'm saying?
- 7:21Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 7:21Speaker 2: And if I would never wear it, you shouldn't wear
- 7:23Speaker 2: it either.
- 7:23Speaker 1: Like, excuse me. But I would say still wear a
- 7:26Speaker 1: hard hat on a construction site because that's, you know,
- 7:29Speaker 1: that's important. Still wear those things. And gloves if you're
- 7:32Speaker 1: a doctor. That's it. So, yeah, exactly. So it's causing
- 7:37Speaker 1: a bit of a stir once again. Oh, gosh. But
- 7:40Speaker 1: I do believe that people are living their lives. And,
- 7:43Speaker 1: you know, the thing is, I think some people like
- 7:46Speaker 1: to take offense. They live for it. They live for
- 7:49Speaker 1: the negative commentary online and they wait for it. They
- 7:52Speaker 1: wait for a post. That's why most posts that you see,
- 7:55Speaker 1: someone will be telling you about a recipe and then
- 7:56Speaker 1: they'll be commenting about someone's forehead. That's the type of
- 7:59Speaker 1: world we live in right now. And we are all
- 8:02Speaker 1: responsible for that if we don't change it somewhere. Someone says,
- 8:06Speaker 1: oh gosh, but I.
- 8:07Speaker 2: Don't like that. Then scroll on and live your life, right?
- 8:09Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 8:10Speaker 1: And when you're studying, it's also very comfy, man, because,
- 8:13Speaker 1: you know, we're edging toward matric final season. More than
- 8:15Speaker 1: 71,000 Western Cape matriculants are officially entering the final stretch
- 8:19Speaker 1: just 30 days before the NSC exams begin. We need
- 8:23Speaker 1: to do some solidarity papers with Beatrice. Remember that? That
- 8:25Speaker 1: was fun, especially mathematics. Very cool. And if you're wondering
- 8:31Speaker 1: about what to study after matric... South Africa is apparently
- 8:35Speaker 1: struggling to find these skills. SA employees are struggling to
- 8:37Speaker 1: fill critical skills with engineers topping this list. Not sure
- 8:41Speaker 1: if you saw this, but a survey of 381 employers
- 8:44Speaker 1: found that 84% had difficulty recruiting critically skilled professionals locally.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Engineers were the biggest, followed by artisans. Yes, people who
- 8:53Speaker 1: work with their hands. ICT specialists... Senior finance managers and executives,
- 8:58Speaker 1: foreign language speakers, media and marketing professionals are in demand. Sorry, what?
- 9:07Speaker 1: Excuse me, what? I also saw this really cool video.
- 9:10Speaker 1: There was a guy. He was saying that in a
- 9:12Speaker 1: world of AI, people are going to need experiences. And
- 9:17Speaker 1: people will need hosts for those experiences that could combine
- 9:20Speaker 1: things and make people feel like they're part of a
- 9:22Speaker 1: connected event. And it made me very happy. It gave
- 9:24Speaker 1: me a little wink of longevity in my current career.
- 9:27Speaker 1: Thank you very much for that. I appreciate it.
- 9:29Speaker 2: I did see you post about that.
- 9:31Speaker 1: I did because I was so enthused by it. It
- 9:33Speaker 1: was the best. But I thought I'd share those stories
- 9:35Speaker 1: with you. If you're currently in your PJs, then you
- 9:38Speaker 1: can win in your PJs in the next couple of
- 9:40Speaker 1: minutes because I have an opportunity for you to win
- 9:42Speaker 1: with our good friends at Clicks. If you are in traffic...
- 9:46Speaker 1: Turn around. Fats and Small. It's on your show. Fats
- 9:51Speaker 1: and Small. This is not an indication of the show.
- 9:53Speaker 1: If that was the case, then I'd be Fats. And
- 9:56Speaker 1: Cassidy can be Smalls. Just like that. Is that okay?
- 9:58Speaker 1: There we go. just in case you thought there was
- 10:00Speaker 1: an indication it's turn around now there's a chance for
- 10:03Speaker 1: you to win with clicks here is how you can
- 10:05Speaker 1: win it's different because we're building up to heritage day
- 10:09Speaker 1: and i know that there are certain items that have
- 10:11Speaker 1: been passed down in a click store through your generations,
- 10:16Speaker 1: like the items that I think would be part of
- 10:18Speaker 1: your heritage. What are these items from Clix and why
- 10:22Speaker 1: are they part of your heritage? Is there a story
- 10:24Speaker 1: attached to when you first use the item or does
- 10:26Speaker 1: it first applied to you by a parent? I want
- 10:29Speaker 1: to hear about the heritage that is connected to Clix
- 10:33Speaker 1: products and Clix value products at that. A heritage product
- 10:37Speaker 1: for you, Cassidious Maximus.
- 10:39Speaker 2: He's so serious. It's VIX.
- 10:41Speaker 1: Is it VIX?
- 10:41Speaker 2: It's VIX. VIX on everything. Vicks on everything all of
- 10:46Speaker 2: the time.
- 10:47Speaker 1: Vicks. So, did you get smeared out? Obviously, you had
- 10:50Speaker 1: a cold. Yes. Smeared out. Yes. On your chest.
- 10:53Speaker 5: That and they drop a dollop of Vicks into hot
- 10:56Speaker 5: water and then you put the towel over your head.
- 10:59Speaker 1: Are you still using Vicks today?
- 11:00Speaker 8: Yes.
- 11:01Speaker 9: Okay.
- 11:02Speaker 1: This is good. You see heritage products like that.
- 11:05Speaker 8: Totally.
- 11:05Speaker 1: Like camphor as well. That's also good to have around
- 11:09Speaker 1: the house. For some reason, like I don't know how
- 11:12Speaker 1: to let go of my Lennon. traditional remedies. So there's
- 11:16Speaker 1: been a lot, this Roy LaFentel and Leovins Essence and
- 11:19Speaker 1: all of those. And I think that's like, that's probably
- 11:21Speaker 1: like the most iconic that you can think of. But
- 11:24Speaker 1: I know there were, there were a lot more, like
- 11:25Speaker 1: some of the, some of these brands have survived the
- 11:29Speaker 1: test of time and now they've like completely rebranded. And
- 11:31Speaker 1: maybe you can remember you, you and your mom using them.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Like I just, I've always looked for, and I think
- 11:38Speaker 1: they still have it. Hold on. Let me just check
- 11:40Speaker 1: from clicks quickly. I just had a thought about this.
- 11:43Speaker 1: It's got to be And I'm hoping that they still
- 11:46Speaker 1: have this in stock because then it'll be like the
- 11:48Speaker 1: perfect one for me. And it's got to be there.
- 11:52Speaker 1: It's got to be there. Is it there? Yes, it's there. So,
- 12:00Speaker 1: do you remember the Colgate Shampoo Man? All right. I
- 12:03Speaker 1: told you about this before and I always tell you
- 12:05Speaker 1: about it. The Colgate shampoo that's got the finger.
- 12:08Speaker 2: The fingernail on top.
- 12:09Speaker 4: Yes.
- 12:09Speaker 2: The white fingernail.
- 12:10Speaker 1: That's correct. It's not even a fingernail. I don't even
- 12:13Speaker 1: think it is. But for me, it was an index finger.
- 12:15Speaker 1: Of course. And it was hoeing. And I think that
- 12:17Speaker 1: was like one of the things that I think will
- 12:19Speaker 1: forever be iconic to me in terms of my family
- 12:22Speaker 1: and the heritage and just getting a good shampoo out
- 12:25Speaker 1: with that. Very good.
- 12:26Speaker 5: I would also remember whenever I was at my ma's
- 12:29Speaker 5: house and I'd have like a tummy ache, she'd make
- 12:32Speaker 5: me colic remedies.
- 12:33Speaker 1: So that's the Lenin remedies. Yes, yes, yes, yes. And
- 12:36Speaker 1: she will give you those. And you know what?
- 12:39Speaker 2: And you must drink it hot.
- 12:40Speaker 1: It tastes like death. It does.
- 12:42Speaker 2: You don't want to drink it.
- 12:43Speaker 1: But I've always said this and I'll stand by it.
- 12:45Speaker 1: Those remedies actually didn't work. It was the fear of
- 12:50Speaker 1: those remedies that made you, I'm fine. I'm okay.
- 12:52Speaker 10: I'm okay.
- 12:52Speaker 1: I'm okay. Like you could be ducking to flu and
- 12:55Speaker 1: that cup of hot petrol looking stuff comes your way.
- 13:00Speaker 1: And you look at it, I'm fine. I'm fine. I'm
- 13:02Speaker 1: feeling fine. I'm feeling fine. That's what I'm talking about.
- 13:05Speaker 1: So if you have a heritage clicks product, something that's
- 13:09Speaker 1: connected to your past, and that stood this test of time,
- 13:12Speaker 1: and it still stands at a three foot two and clicks,
- 13:14Speaker 1: please tell me what that is. clicks is your keyword
- 13:17Speaker 1: 082 945 0940 and add it to the list maybe
- 13:21Speaker 1: there's a certain tradition around the product you want to
- 13:24Speaker 1: add to please feel free uh clicks feel good pay
- 13:27Speaker 1: less on kf94. 5 remember that t's and c's apply call
- 13:30Speaker 1: you now.
- 13:32Speaker 11: It's all about that winning feeling because you could be
- 13:37Speaker 11: winning 2500 rand 2500 rand in clicks club card cashback
- 13:43Speaker 11: so you can feel good and pay less on kfm
- 13:47Speaker 11: 94.5 hello rashad hey carl how are you fantastic i'm
- 13:53Speaker 11: just i'm throwing it back here we're looking at heritage
- 13:55Speaker 11: clicks products which one throws it all the way back
- 13:59Speaker 11: for you and you believe as part of your family's
- 14:01Speaker 11: heritage I.
- 14:03Speaker 4: Think my mother got it from her mother and I
- 14:05Speaker 4: got it from her, the Luxe white soap bar.
- 14:08Speaker 1: The Luxe? Specifically the white one. But it's got to
- 14:10Speaker 1: be the white soap bar. It has to be the
- 14:13Speaker 1: white one. Okay, okay. Why is this so connected? What
- 14:16Speaker 1: is the feeling that you get when you see a
- 14:18Speaker 1: white Luxe bar?
- 14:20Speaker 4: Well, if we went to the shop and we didn't
- 14:21Speaker 4: get it, we got a hiding. So that's the connection.
- 14:27Speaker 4: So we were only ever allowed to buy that particular
- 14:30Speaker 4: bar because... if we wore our school shirt, the white
- 14:34Speaker 4: one was really good at cleaning the cuffs and the collars.
- 14:37Speaker 1: Yo, it was actually. There was something about that. There
- 14:39Speaker 1: was a little bit of, from the white, I think,
- 14:42Speaker 1: it kind of scraped off on the shirt. It helped
- 14:45Speaker 1: a lot. Yo, I got you, my brother. You see,
- 14:48Speaker 1: that's the whole thing. You know what? I actually forgot
- 14:50Speaker 1: to mention another thing, Rashad, is that Clixil sells snackwiches.
- 14:56Speaker 1: You know those snackwich makers?
- 14:58Speaker 7: Yes, yes, yes.
- 14:59Speaker 1: Yes. And I was like, oh my.
- 15:00Speaker 4: The diamond ones.
- 15:01Speaker 1: Yes. Oh my word. I was like, they still sell that. Yes,
- 15:06Speaker 1: it looks a little different from back in the day
- 15:07Speaker 1: when mine was cream and brown. But they still sell
- 15:10Speaker 1: these things. And I think that is key. A snack
- 15:12Speaker 1: which is also part of our heritage, man.

- 20:21Speaker 1: is unpopular, and just I'll let you cook. You just
- 20:24Speaker 1: do your thing on the WhatsApp line 0829450940. It is
- 20:26Speaker 1: an open platform to share anything. Even if it's a
- 20:28Speaker 1: question you have, And you're worried like, oh my word,
- 20:36Speaker 1: is it a dumb question? There's no such thing here.
- 20:38Speaker 1: I want you to be as open as you need
- 20:40Speaker 1: to be and just share what you want to share.
- 20:42Speaker 1: That's why the WhatsApp line is open to you. And
- 20:44Speaker 1: that's why you have a platform like the flash drive.
- 20:47Speaker 1: Like we did last week. We listen.
- 20:49Speaker 8: And we don't judge.
- 20:51Speaker 5: When someone calls me and they have to cough, they
- 20:54Speaker 5: have the choice to take.
- 20:55Speaker 2: Their mouth away from the phone when they cough. Don't
- 20:58Speaker 2: cough in my ear.
- 20:59Speaker 1: Why do people do that? I had a phone call
- 21:00Speaker 1: with someone and I know the flu is going around.
- 21:02Speaker 1: And they were like, Carl, we just have an event
- 21:04Speaker 1: coming up and we're just looking for you to be
- 21:06Speaker 1: the MC of the event. Go to a doctor?
- 21:12Speaker 6: How?

- 21:15Speaker 8: don't have to announce your departure. This is not an airport.
- 21:18Speaker 8: Just feel free to leave whenever.
- 21:20Speaker 13: You want to.
- 21:21Speaker 1: This is not an airport.
- 21:27Speaker 8: Is not the place to ask for emergency details. Google
- 21:31Speaker 8: is faster, people.
- 21:33Speaker 1: Okay, that goes for any social media platform and I
- 21:36Speaker 1: know what you're talking about right now.
- 21:37Speaker 8: This person posted that their dog is choking on something.
- 21:41Speaker 8: Where's the closest emergency vet? Okay, now your dog's choking.
- 21:45Speaker 8: You are unlocking your phone, typing a Facebook message and
- 21:49Speaker 8: asking for the closest... emergency vet or if it was
- 21:53Speaker 8: your child you were probably asking for a doctor okay
- 21:55Speaker 8: could you not google emergency.
- 21:58Speaker 1: Vet i'm not laughing no you're not nobody is do

- 22:21Speaker 1: fine hairs. No, it's really stuff that I need to
- 22:24Speaker 1: get out. So, Cassidy.
- 22:27Speaker 5: Everything I find out about you is against my will.
- 22:31Speaker 1: Well, you wanted to work here. Oh, my gosh. You
- 22:34Speaker 1: have to get to know me.
- 22:35Speaker 2: Now I know you got fine hair on your chest.
- 22:37Speaker 1: That's it.
- 22:38Speaker 2: We listen and we don't judge.

- 22:51Speaker 1: know that? For two million rand life cover, there is
- 22:53Speaker 1: an individual, 29-year-old Mandisa, who pays only 270 rand a month.
- 22:57Speaker 1: Same as your favorite soccer experience. So get a quote
- 22:59Speaker 1: today and see why over one million South Africans trust
- 23:01Speaker 1: Outsurance Life Insurance with their lives. Protect your loved ones
- 23:04Speaker 1: with affordable and trusted life insurance cover. Impossible. Impossible. James Arthur,
- 23:26Speaker 1: it's impossible. It's on your show, your flash drive in
- 23:29Speaker 1: KFM 94.5. In the next couple of seconds, you'll get
- 23:33Speaker 1: the unique opportunity to be a part of a We
- 23:36Speaker 1: Listen and We Don't Judge session. This session has been
- 23:38Speaker 1: designed for you so that you can get everything that
- 23:42Speaker 1: you need to off your chest to start a fresh week.
- 23:44Speaker 1: I have my two accomplices with me in studio, producer Beatrice,
- 23:48Speaker 1: as well as Cassidy Jade Nicholson. And it's time to
- 23:52Speaker 1: allow people to just share their But remember, we have
- 23:55Speaker 1: one rule. We listen and we don't judge. That's it.
- 24:00Speaker 1: First up, I want to start off on the floor
- 24:03Speaker 1: before we get to ours. This one came through. Take
- 24:05Speaker 1: a listen.
- 24:07Speaker 8: Hi, Carl.
- 24:08Speaker 12: Hi, Cassidy.
- 24:10Speaker 8: I would like to vent. Just a quick question. Am
- 24:14Speaker 8: I being selfish when somebody asks you, do you want
- 24:17Speaker 8: a chippy? And they put the packet in front of you.
- 24:20Speaker 14: What must I do with one chippy?
- 24:22Speaker 9: Can you give me a.
- 24:22Speaker 8: Packet on my own? It's the same like asking you like,
- 24:24Speaker 8: you've got peanuts and raisins. Would you like a peanut?
- 24:27Speaker 14: What must I do with one peanut?
- 24:28Speaker 8: Please, please.
- 24:29Speaker 9: Is it a teaser?
- 24:30Speaker 7: Sure.
- 24:33Speaker 1: Sometimes we just stumble on such profound topics, man. We do.
- 24:38Speaker 1: We really do. Because I think traditionally, if you want one,
- 24:42Speaker 1: I'd say it would be a gum.
- 24:44Speaker 7: Right?
- 24:44Speaker 1: But if you have one of those... multi-faceted snacks and
- 24:49Speaker 1: you want to share it, it's best that you give
- 24:52Speaker 1: them like a pour-in. A handful, yes. If it's peanuts
- 24:57Speaker 1: and raisins, there's got to be a pour. Chips, give
- 24:59Speaker 1: them a pour. But not like, take one.
- 25:03Speaker 2: It feels very childish.
- 25:06Speaker 5: Because remember at school, when your friends would offer you something,
- 25:10Speaker 5: they would even put their own hand in the bag.
- 25:13Speaker 2: Take one out and give you one.
- 25:16Speaker 5: And that's what it feels like if someone's like, do
- 25:17Speaker 5: you want one?
- 25:19Speaker 2: No, I want more nothing.
- 25:21Speaker 1: But yeah, so it's also very difficult because now I also,
- 25:24Speaker 1: when someone offers me and then puts the packet in
- 25:26Speaker 1: front of you, I'm not going to exactly like claw
- 25:29Speaker 1: my hand in there. I'm also going to, I'm going
- 25:31Speaker 1: to take one. So I think we've been conditioned that
- 25:35Speaker 1: way to just take one so we don't offend anybody.
- 25:37Speaker 1: And then you wait for them to say, why are
- 25:39Speaker 1: you only taking one? No, man, have a bit more, man.
- 25:41Speaker 1: And then you're like, oh, thank goodness. Then you take,
- 25:43Speaker 1: then you do the claw.
- 25:45Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 25:46Speaker 13: Right?
- 25:46Speaker 1: And you take half of the packet into your hand.
- 25:48Speaker 7: Oh, say less.
- 25:48Speaker 1: Yeah, that's fine. Thank you very much.
- 25:50Speaker 8: I just think, you know, if it's a small packet
- 25:52Speaker 8: of chips, don't offer other people chips.
- 25:55Speaker 1: That's valid.
- 25:56Speaker 2: It's a small packet of chips. You know what?
- 25:58Speaker 8: I mean, if it's the small packet of peanuts and raisins,
- 26:01Speaker 8: that thing you chug once down your throat. So don't
- 26:05Speaker 8: offer if it's the small packets. But if it's the
- 26:08Speaker 8: big ones, go, do you want a handful of chips?
- 26:11Speaker 2: No, do you want some?
- 26:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 26:13Speaker 8: Do you want some?
- 26:14Speaker 1: Or like with... Cassidy and I, we share love for
- 26:17Speaker 1: peanuts and raisins. And we actually get them from this
- 26:19Speaker 1: vending machine. Yes. Where they're actually very reasonably priced. No,
- 26:23Speaker 1: they're not. Small packets. No, they're not at all. So
- 26:25Speaker 1: I would rather just get her own packet than walking
- 26:28Speaker 1: here alone with my own packet. Because I do the
- 26:30Speaker 1: poor thing with that peanuts and raisins. So I would
- 26:33Speaker 1: never offer someone something that I've used with my own
- 26:36Speaker 1: mouth when I poured it in. I would never do that.
- 26:39Speaker 1: But yeah, so thank you for bringing that to our attention.
- 26:41Speaker 1: That's actually really profound. Another one from you.
- 26:45Speaker 9: So I was a student teacher for my.
- 26:50Speaker 1: Practicum. Yeah.
- 26:52Speaker 9: And I was at the school and they were doing
- 26:54Speaker 9: school projects. And they were told that they can use AI.
- 26:59Speaker 9: And I said to them, no, they shouldn't use AI. Meanwhile,
- 27:05Speaker 9: when they had asked me a question in class that
- 27:08Speaker 9: I didn't know, I would use AI to quickly help me.
- 27:13Speaker 1: So that I could sound smart to these 12-year-olds. No judge.
- 27:19Speaker 1: No judges there at all. Not a single judgment. Anybody
- 27:22Speaker 1: with a judge in the face? Nothing? No judges? No.
- 27:25Speaker 8: I can't judge anyway.
- 27:28Speaker 1: Well, you know what? Now would be a good time
- 27:29Speaker 1: to do a quick round of what is the last
- 27:31Speaker 1: thing that you used AI for? So, shall we begin? Cassidy?
- 27:36Speaker 2: I asked her to build me a meal plan.
- 27:41Speaker 1: Did it work?
- 27:42Speaker 2: Well, I've been tracking macros, and it did help me
- 27:45Speaker 2: with the meal plan.
- 27:46Speaker 1: I told you there's one near Cape Gate and one
- 27:49Speaker 1: near the refinery.
- 27:51Speaker 2: We can't keep getting into this.
- 27:53Speaker 1: If you want to track it, just use Google Maps.
- 27:55Speaker 1: What's wrong with you? Hello. Beatrice?
- 27:59Speaker 8: Okay, I hope I used this English word correctly, but
- 28:01Speaker 8: I used it to be facetious.
- 28:04Speaker 1: There we go Yes Thank you for the word There
- 28:07Speaker 1: we go Did you ask like How do you say
- 28:09Speaker 1: something With a passive aggressive tone Or whatever What was
- 28:11Speaker 1: your thing No Okay cool.
- 28:13Speaker 8: So I got one too many Of those AI generated
- 28:16Speaker 8: Good night messages So I took A picture of my
- 28:22Speaker 8: two dogs And I created my own one And sent
- 28:27Speaker 8: it back to the person.
- 28:32Speaker 1: This guy You know you don't have to respond. Joe,
- 28:37Speaker 1: but I'm just saying, if you use it in the
- 28:40Speaker 1: right way, the robots will get you lost. So don't worry.
- 28:43Speaker 8: No, but I always say please and thank you.
- 28:45Speaker 1: You must. They'll remember that. Another one that came through.
- 28:49Speaker 1: This is on the back of just last week when
- 28:50Speaker 1: Pietro said, why do people look for emergency help by
- 28:53Speaker 1: a Facebook post as opposed to actually using Google and
- 28:55Speaker 1: finding the emergency numbers required? This is what someone found
- 28:59Speaker 1: recently on FB. Hey, Cole.
- 29:04Speaker 10: Cassidy, this just completely blew me away. Somebody posted on
- 29:10Speaker 10: one of those medical naturopathic things on Facebook that their
- 29:17Speaker 10: one foot was going completely black.
- 29:21Speaker 3: And they wanted to know what ointment or what natural
- 29:25Speaker 3: remedies people would consider telling them to use. I was like,
- 29:34Speaker 3: the best thing to do, I think, is get to
- 29:36Speaker 3: an emergency room.
- 29:37Speaker 12: Because your foot is just about to fall. off literally
- 29:41Speaker 12: fall off and if your foot is black it's dead
- 29:46Speaker 12: so get to a doctor it blows me away it
- 29:49Speaker 12: blows me away that people ask things like that about
- 29:53Speaker 12: things like health.
- 29:54Speaker 1: Problems it happens man hey no wait wait wait i
- 30:01Speaker 1: heard that just remember we're not judging here i'm not
- 30:03Speaker 1: judging yeah.
- 30:04Speaker 8: That's all first of all yeah she's my spirit animal
- 30:06Speaker 8: yeah the woman okay yes she definitely is secondly please
- 30:10Speaker 8: send me the link i want to go read the
- 30:11Speaker 8: comments because i am betting i am betting there's a
- 30:16Speaker 8: comment in there that goes shame what happened.
- 30:19Speaker 5: Yeah why are people like that Well, for the same.
- 30:24Speaker 1: Like, here's what happened. Give me your help. Whoa, what happened?
- 30:27Speaker 5: But this is what I'm saying, right? The post is performative.
- 30:31Speaker 5: But also, if you're going to perform, I want to understand.
- 30:34Speaker 2: Give me context.
- 30:35Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 30:36Speaker 2: So if you are going to post your foot.
- 30:38Speaker 5: I'm going to go through the comments because I want
- 30:40Speaker 5: to know what happened because I'm just as bad. But
- 30:42Speaker 5: I'm going to see if someone else asked what happened
- 30:44Speaker 5: first before I comment, hey, what happened?
- 30:47Speaker 1: And I just hope that people are getting the help
- 30:49Speaker 1: that they need. But just aside from that, I wish
- 30:52Speaker 1: that Facebook allowed you to comment in songs because I'd
- 30:55Speaker 1: totally post this. But as long as they got the
- 31:09Speaker 1: medical attention that they need first Then I would do
- 31:11Speaker 1: that afterwards Because that's important to me Wow So it's
- 31:20Speaker 1: just okay.
- 31:21Speaker 5: No scar, Michael No scar No, no, no, it's fine.
- 31:27Speaker 1: It's okay Right, we're good, we're good What else do
- 31:33Speaker 1: we have? Oh, Jodie just messaged me now He says
- 31:39Speaker 1: I must play this one rather. This is fancy footwork
- 31:46Speaker 1: for the person.
- 31:49Speaker 14: Okay, cool.
- 31:50Speaker 1: Thank you, Jodie. See, Jodie still wants to be involved.
- 31:53Speaker 1: He does.
- 31:54Speaker 8: I'm telling you.
- 31:54Speaker 1: He may not talk much, but he plays a lot.
- 31:56Speaker 1: Stop playing.
- 31:57Speaker 2: We are very close to getting him to speak on
- 31:59Speaker 2: air again.
- 31:59Speaker 1: It's going to happen very soon. Trust me. He will
- 32:02Speaker 1: definitely speak eventually. Sure, we couldn't even... We've run out
- 32:05Speaker 1: of time. Economist... Speak to ours.
- 32:08Speaker 8: But you had one.
- 32:09Speaker 1: I did have one. It was very, very quick.
- 32:11Speaker 2: Get it off your chest then.
- 32:12Speaker 1: I wrote it down. I thought about it over the weekend.
- 32:16Speaker 1: I just remember what I said.
- 32:18Speaker 2: He verbalized a breathing.
- 32:19Speaker 1: So you know it's intense. No, man. No, no, no, no.
- 32:22Speaker 1: So some people who have festivals, right? I had two.
- 32:26Speaker 1: Some people who have festivals, they don't... It's like they're
- 32:30Speaker 1: doing like an old school festival. So on the flyer,
- 32:34Speaker 1: they don't put the people that are playing there. They're putting...
- 32:37Speaker 1: the songs of what they will play at the old
- 32:40Speaker 1: school festival. So I just think that that's not cool.
- 32:43Speaker 1: So I saw an old school festival recently on my timeline,
- 32:46Speaker 1: and they were like Robin S., Cece Penniston, and a
- 32:50Speaker 1: bunch of different artists. But there was a small print
- 32:54Speaker 1: in that AI poster, by the way, and the small
- 32:57Speaker 1: print was music from.
- 32:59Speaker 4: Yes.
- 33:00Speaker 1: But I'm like, This looks like Robin S and CeCe
- 33:03Speaker 1: Penison is going to be there, but they are going
- 33:05Speaker 1: to play music from those people. So I just think
- 33:08Speaker 1: that that's a bit of a false advertising. I just
- 33:11Speaker 1: want to say that. And then the second thing I
- 33:13Speaker 1: wanted to say is based on the whole pajamas in
- 33:16Speaker 1: public thing, right? Is that if you're worried about people
- 33:20Speaker 1: wearing those things, okay, people are allowed to wear onesies
- 33:23Speaker 1: in public, okay, which can form pajamas. And think about
- 33:27Speaker 1: this very quickly, that a jumpsuit is a fashionable onesie.
- 33:35Speaker 1: And now I'm done.
- 33:36Speaker 2: And Dub did a whole TV show in a red onesie.
- 33:39Speaker 7: Yep.
- 33:40Speaker 1: So before you judge people walking around in their pajamas,
- 33:43Speaker 1: which includes onesies. Yes. Your jumpsuit. Even your play suit.
- 33:47Speaker 2: Is pajamas.
- 33:48Speaker 1: If you have only one zip access, I'm sorry. That's
- 33:53Speaker 1: a onesie. So don't judge.
- 33:55Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 33:56Speaker 1: Thank you very much. Do you want to drop yours
- 33:58Speaker 1: very quickly? You want to do it? How quick can
- 33:59Speaker 1: you do it? We can do it quick. I'll give
- 34:01Speaker 1: you 25 seconds. Go.
- 34:03Speaker 5: Myself and Beatrice would just like to mark ourselves safe.
- 34:06Speaker 5: from the 80s chat GPT trend. And on that, we
- 34:13Speaker 5: both agree that you don't have to do every chat
- 34:16Speaker 5: GPT trend.
- 34:17Speaker 1: I'm going to play the song again. That was appropriate
- 34:23Speaker 1: for the 80s as well.
- 34:25Speaker 4: Okay.
- 34:26Speaker 1: So that's all you want to say?
- 34:27Speaker 8: Yeah, like, leave us who were born in the 80s
- 34:32Speaker 8: We've seen the pictures. You don't... Yes, no. You were
- 34:35Speaker 8: born in 2000, man.
- 34:38Speaker 5: Also, if you are from the 80s, you don't need
- 34:41Speaker 5: to chat GPT Generate. Just go to your closet and
- 34:44Speaker 5: put on the clothes from the time.
- 34:45Speaker 2: There's photos.
- 34:46Speaker 8: Take the picture out of the photo album and post
- 34:49Speaker 8: it on Facebook.
- 34:50Speaker 2: Be so serious.
- 34:52Speaker 1: Wow. You too? Do you know how my entire timeline
- 34:56Speaker 1: is filled with like, oh, I had to jump into
- 34:58Speaker 1: this trend. Had to do it. Had to jump into
- 35:01Speaker 1: the trend. And it's all these. Yeah, I get it.
- 35:03Speaker 1: A lot of close people to me have done it
- 35:05Speaker 1: who listen to this show.
- 35:06Speaker 2: It's time to unfriend them on Facebook, Carl.
- 35:10Speaker 1: No, no, no. They're on Instagram and on TikTok as well.
- 35:12Speaker 2: Well, unfriend them.
- 35:14Speaker 1: And LinkedIn.
- 35:14Speaker 2: There needs to be a consequence.
- 35:17Speaker 1: I saw one of those things on LinkedIn. People are
- 35:19Speaker 1: doing stuff on LinkedIn as well. You think LinkedIn is
- 35:21Speaker 1: only for dating and occasionally getting a job?
- 35:22Speaker 5: No. No.
- 35:26Speaker 1: They're posting those things on there as well. Wow. Anyway,
- 35:30Speaker 1: we listen and we don't judge.
- 35:33Speaker 14: Never.
- 35:34Speaker 1: Anyway, if you want to get to that party I
- 35:35Speaker 1: was speaking about, they're going to play music from CC40, please.
- 35:38Speaker 1: It's so good. Bushley was in the chat to us
- 35:40Speaker 1: and he's just, he's such a soul man. He's a
- 35:43Speaker 1: very soft, beautiful soul. That's what he is. Love Bushley G. Miracle,
- 35:47Speaker 1: his brand new song. It's the beginning, the start. This week,
- 35:51Speaker 1: how good are you at just figuring out What songs
- 35:56Speaker 1: are just based on a couple of snippets, but they're
- 35:57Speaker 1: all going to be scrambled into one. That is the
- 36:00Speaker 1: key to this competition. It's Unmask the Hits with Andalex.
- 36:05Speaker 1: The beginning. It begins now. Your chance to win up
- 36:08Speaker 1: to 5,000 Rand. So there are going to be five songs.
- 36:12Speaker 1: They are going to be scrambled and jumbled, and it's
- 36:14Speaker 1: going to be a proper mashup of them. You just
- 36:16Speaker 1: have to identify all of them, artist and song title, please.
- 36:21Speaker 1: And once you've done that, I want you to make
- 36:24Speaker 1: sure you enter. And now how do you enter, you
- 36:26Speaker 1: may ask. I'm glad you did. I need the keyword Andolex, A-N-D-O-L-E-X.
- 36:33Speaker 1: I need your name and I need your ID number
- 36:39Speaker 1: to 082-945-0940. And I could be calling you to play,
- 36:42Speaker 1: all right? But I will give you the clip now
- 36:46Speaker 1: and I'll play it for you again if you are
- 36:48Speaker 1: indeed one of the randomly selected individuals to get this opportunity.
- 36:52Speaker 1: So here's the first play. I want you to listen
- 36:55Speaker 1: to this. It's going to give you a massive advantage
- 36:58Speaker 1: in figuring out which songs and in fact, identifying each
- 37:02Speaker 1: one of them. Five tracks. It's a mashup by DJ
- 37:06Speaker 1: Jody West.
- 37:06Speaker 14: Okay.
- 37:08Speaker 1: AKA DJ J-Dubs. So that's what I named him. Now
- 37:11Speaker 1: he enjoys it. I know he did. I can get
- 37:13Speaker 1: his response. Listen to this very carefully. Lock in as
- 37:17Speaker 1: many as you can, and then stand by for my
- 37:19Speaker 1: call to play live for a chance to win up
- 37:21Speaker 1: to 5,000 Rand. This is the first of only two
- 37:26Speaker 1: occasions where I'll play you this. Take a listen.
- 37:30Speaker 7: In the meantime....
- 37:38Speaker 1: That was five songs, believe it or not. Identify and enter. Andalex, name, surname,
- 37:43Speaker 1: ID number, to my number, 082-945-0940. Can you unmask the hits?
- 37:52Speaker 1: Noah Kahan, one of my favorite tracks. Right now, it's
- 37:55Speaker 1: called The Great Divide. It is your chance to win. Remember,
- 38:00Speaker 1: we are going to unmask the hits. Because as you know, Andalex,
- 38:04Speaker 1: they are phenomenal. You know, they... They actually bring you
- 38:08Speaker 1: some really other great masked experiences on your TV. And
- 38:12Speaker 1: for now, I am looking for you to make something happen. Okay.
- 38:16Speaker 1: Listen to a certain montage. And if you know you
- 38:19Speaker 1: have all of it, if you know you've got everything
- 38:21Speaker 1: in place and you're ready to rumble. then I want
- 38:24Speaker 1: to give you a call to give you a shot
- 38:26Speaker 1: live to win up to 5,000 Rand with Andalex.
- 38:30Speaker 2: You know the songs.
- 38:32Speaker 8: You know the songs.
- 38:33Speaker 1: Now prove it. Unmask the hits with Andalex and stand
- 38:37Speaker 1: to win up to 5,000 Rand on KFM 94.5. Lynn,
- 38:43Speaker 1: so tell me, how are the ears there? Hey, are
- 38:46Speaker 1: they good?
- 38:46Speaker 14: Oh, they're so-so.
- 38:50Speaker 1: So-so. Okay, cool. Where are you at the moment? I
- 38:52Speaker 1: want to make sure you are focused and ready.
- 38:55Speaker 14: I'm on my M3 heading home.
- 38:57Speaker 1: Okay. Please be focused on those roads. I want to
- 38:59Speaker 1: make sure you're okay. Are you okay? Is it safe
- 39:01Speaker 1: to talk?
- 39:03Speaker 14: It's safe to talk. Are you okay being on loudspeaker?
- 39:07Speaker 1: What loudspeaker? Who's in the car?
- 39:11Speaker 8: Okay.
- 39:12Speaker 1: So it's a group effort. This is interesting. You have
- 39:15Speaker 1: one shot at this to list all five of these songs.
- 39:17Speaker 1: I'm going to give it to you one more time
- 39:19Speaker 1: and then it's over to the team to give me
- 39:21Speaker 1: the correct answer. Is everybody ready?
- 39:26Speaker 14: We are.
- 39:26Speaker 1: Okay, good. Take a listen to this, everybody. And let's
- 39:30Speaker 1: make it happen. Here is your montage. Listen carefully. All right.
- 39:45Speaker 1: Unmask the hits. Lynn, go.
- 39:49Speaker 14: So I'm looking for artist and song title here. So
- 39:53Speaker 14: give me that Ladies Amour song title again. Let me crash?
- 40:11Speaker 1: When you crash with somebody, what are you doing when
- 40:13Speaker 1: you crash? There's another word. It's a bit of a
- 40:16Speaker 1: single word. When you crash into somebody, you.
- 40:19Speaker 4: Let me drive?
- 40:21Speaker 1: No, no. When you crash, there's a word there. There's
- 40:23Speaker 1: a word where you just knock into each other. It's
- 40:26Speaker 1: like a... It's a word with a C. That's the
- 40:29Speaker 1: song title there. Just a... Not crash? No. The other word.
- 40:35Speaker 1: There's another word.
- 40:35Speaker 11: Collide.
- 40:36Speaker 1: There we go. That's the name. How did you know
- 40:38Speaker 1: the name of the song? Well done.
- 40:39Speaker 4: Yes.
- 40:39Speaker 1: So now that's another point. Okay. So ladies and gentlemen, Collide.
- 40:43Speaker 1: You said Ariana Grande one last time. And then the
- 40:44Speaker 1: last one, Sister Bettina, do you know the artist there?
- 40:48Speaker 14: Marimba?
- 40:49Speaker 5: Sure.
- 40:50Speaker 14: And if I'm pronouncing it correctly.
- 40:52Speaker 1: Like as in Marimba spelled M-G-A-R-I-M-B-E. You want to try
- 40:56Speaker 1: it another way? Like a.
- 41:01Speaker 1: M-G-A-R-I-M-B-E. That's all. Okay. Don't A-I-O Google, eh? Because that's unfair.
- 41:07Speaker 1: You must use your own brain, everybody. That's for the
- 41:10Speaker 1: kid in the back.
- 41:11Speaker 14: It's not spelled... It's got R-I-M-B-E at the end, but
- 41:15Speaker 14: it's spelled quite differently.
- 41:18Speaker 1: Yes. Just say M-G-A-R-I-M-B-E. Just like that. M-G-A-R-I-M-B-E. Yes, there
- 41:23Speaker 1: we go. Perfect. All right. You got three. Well done.
- 41:26Speaker 1: That is 3,000 Rand. From Andalex. Family, you've unmasked the hits. Congratulations.
- 41:36Speaker 1: Take it off.
- 41:37Speaker 4: Take it off.
- 41:40Speaker 1: Well done, everybody. And I have no idea how you
- 41:42Speaker 1: knew the Ladies of Mars song or the Mkhareembe song,
- 41:44Speaker 1: but well done. That was excellent.
- 41:46Speaker 14: Listen, my husband knew I was listening to music when
- 41:49Speaker 14: I was there, and so when we heard it, he
- 41:52Speaker 14: gave me most of the answers.
- 41:53Speaker 4: Everybody.
- 41:57Speaker 1: I love you people. I love all of you. Please
- 41:59Speaker 1: drive safely on that M3. We'll chat to you soon.
- 42:02Speaker 1: 3,000 Rand. Not the maximum today, but at least you
- 42:05Speaker 1: got most of it. 3,000 Rand from our friends at Andalex.
- 42:09Speaker 1: Sore throat? Just Andalex it. At the first signs of
- 42:12Speaker 1: an itchy, scratchy throat, use Andalex lozenges. For dual-action soothing relief.
- 42:16Speaker 1: For a painful, inflamed, sore throat, use Andalex C lozenges.
- 42:20Speaker 1: For triple-action pain relief. For targeted relief from one minute
- 42:23Speaker 1: that lasts for up to four hours, use Andalex C
- 42:26Speaker 1: oral rinse and spray, reducing pain and inflammation while numbing
- 42:29Speaker 1: affected areas. South Africa's number one choice for a sore
- 42:32Speaker 1: mouth and throat. Sore throat, sorted, just Andalex it. And
- 42:36Speaker 1: here are the conclusive songs in that they only got
- 42:39Speaker 1: three out of this one here. Ladies of Markalide. Snoop Dogg,
- 42:45Speaker 1: drop a little song. There was I'm Every Woman in
- 42:49Speaker 1: there from Shaka Khan. That was a bit of a
- 42:51Speaker 1: twisty one over there. And of course, you got the
- 42:54Speaker 1: grande one last time, Kharimbe's sister Bettina. So they just
- 42:57Speaker 1: missed out on I'm Every Woman from Shaka Khan. That
- 43:00Speaker 1: was the curveball in there. And Snoop Dogg's Drop It
- 43:03Speaker 1: Like It's Hot. You heard that. Snoo! There we go. So,
- 43:07Speaker 1: if you want to try this tomorrow, it sounds really fun.
- 43:09Speaker 1: I know you can do this. You know my number.
- 43:11Speaker 1: Same time, same space. And you can win with Andalex.
- 43:15Speaker 1: Make sure you unmask the hits. Never get an usher
- 43:22Speaker 1: without you ushering you into an opportunity to win your
- 43:25Speaker 1: very own dishwasher.
- 43:27Speaker 8: Think you've got what it takes to be the next
- 43:29Speaker 8: FlashWord champ?
- 43:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 43:31Speaker 2: Prove it on the FlashWord. Powered by Finnish and DeFi.
- 43:34Speaker 1: On KFM 94.5. FlashWord champion, automatic entry into a competition.
- 43:40Speaker 1: How lucky are you?
- 43:42Speaker 4: Oh yes, I'm so excited. I hope I lost this
- 43:45Speaker 4: week too.
- 43:45Speaker 1: I hope so too. Do you have a dishwasher?
- 43:49Speaker 4: No, no, no, no, no. Hello.
- 43:51Speaker 1: It's time. It's about time. You know, you could be
- 43:54Speaker 1: saving water and saving time so you can spend more
- 43:57Speaker 1: time with your guests. You know, the thing about this
- 43:59Speaker 1: week that's very special is that we're about to enter
- 44:02Speaker 1: entertaining season. And what, you know, what everybody does when
- 44:05Speaker 1: they come over, the first thing they do is they
- 44:07Speaker 1: want to go to the back and wash dishes. And
- 44:10Speaker 1: you don't need to do that anymore. You can continue
- 44:12Speaker 1: playing 30 seconds or hitster or whatever in the back.
- 44:14Speaker 1: You don't have to go, I need to wash the
- 44:16Speaker 1: cup so long.
- 44:17Speaker 14: No.
- 44:18Speaker 1: Drop it in the DeFi dishwasher, add a Finnish bloki,
- 44:21Speaker 1: and then leave it there. Done. You know what I'm saying?
- 44:25Speaker 1: I know. But you have to win first. And you
- 44:27Speaker 1: have to take on someone for Albertina. JLJ. What's up? Hey, Cole.
- 44:36Speaker 1: JLJ is your nickname now. Yeah, it's your nickname. Jamie
- 44:39Speaker 1: Lee Joseph, a financial advisor's assistant from Albertina. Welcome to
- 44:44Speaker 1: the flash drive. Are you ready to play the flash word? Yes,
- 44:47Speaker 1: I am. Thank you. It's going to be so good. Lynn,
- 44:51Speaker 1: here's the thing. Are you going to go first? Are
- 44:55Speaker 1: you sure?
- 44:55Speaker 9: Yes, I am.
- 44:56Speaker 1: You're certain? Okay, it's been a lucky charm for you.
- 44:58Speaker 1: As you know, with this game, we have... 30 seconds
- 45:03Speaker 1: for you and one little word. The word is D.
- 45:06Speaker 1: So remember, it could be D-E, D-E-E, D-A-E, D-I-E, D-Y.
- 45:12Speaker 1: I have to be very specific about D. So those
- 45:16Speaker 1: are the answers that we'll have, well, I need from you. Okay?
- 45:19Speaker 8: Okay.
- 45:20Speaker 1: All right. 30 seconds on the clock. Good luck. Are
- 45:22Speaker 1: you ready?
- 45:22Speaker 4: Yep.
- 45:25Speaker 1: Let's go. And your time... Begins in three, two, one.
- 45:30Speaker 1: Let's roll. In Marvel movies, the actor who played Venom.
- 45:37Speaker 1: A golfer's assistant. A type of spider. A home cleaning brand.
- 45:51Speaker 1: When a train comes off its tracks.
- 45:54Speaker 4: Do you know?
- 45:55Speaker 1: In Marvel movies, the actor played Venom.
- 45:59Speaker 5: No?
- 46:00Speaker 1: And then? Time is up. Well done. That's three out
- 46:03Speaker 1: of five. You only missed out on a little spider-chee there,
- 46:07Speaker 1: which is a daddy. Oh, spider. Yeah, what did you hear?
- 46:11Speaker 1: Did you hear a cider? No, no. Come on now.
- 46:14Speaker 1: The weekend's over. Hello. What did you hear?
- 46:17Speaker 2: I don't know what I heard.
- 46:19Speaker 4: Spider for daddy long legs.
- 46:21Speaker 1: There we go. You would have got it anyway. And
- 46:22Speaker 1: then Tom Hardy was the actor who played Venom in
- 46:26Speaker 1: the Marvel movies. Okay, cool. This is fun. Three out
- 46:30Speaker 1: of five. Let's go to Albertina. JLJ, are you ready
- 46:34Speaker 1: for your chance to shine? Yes, I am. D, your
- 46:38Speaker 1: time begins in three, two, one. Let's roll. The lead
- 46:42Speaker 1: singer of Queen. Pause. A positive gesture of kindness. Another
- 46:54Speaker 1: name for a father. Daddy. The head of a university faculty.
- 47:00Speaker 3: Dean.
- 47:02Speaker 1: Strongly built.
- 47:06Speaker 4: Sturdy.
- 47:07Speaker 1: Perfect. And then a positive gesture of... No, it's fine.
- 47:13Speaker 1: Don't worry about it. Okay. Lead singer of Queen, Freddie Mercury.
- 47:17Speaker 1: Positive gesture of kindness, Deed. Another name for a father, Daddy.
- 47:20Speaker 1: Head of a university faculty, Dean. Strongly built. Very impressed
- 47:23Speaker 1: with you with regard to sturdy. Nice one. All right. Ladies,
- 47:31Speaker 1: three out of five, which means I have to move
- 47:33Speaker 1: you to a tiebreaker. This is how it works, ladies.
- 47:38Speaker 1: Just so that you know, Lynn, name first, then answer.
- 47:42Speaker 1: You got it? You focused on that, remember? Okay, and
- 47:44Speaker 1: remember when you say your name, I'll activate you and say, Lynn,
- 47:47Speaker 1: you first. Give me the answer immediately. No stalling, no Googling,
- 47:51Speaker 1: no AI, just brain. Okay? And then Jamie Lee Joseph,
- 47:56Speaker 1: same applies to you. Good luck, ladies. So D is
- 48:00Speaker 1: going to stay your flash word and your tiebreaker is this.
- 48:08Speaker 1: The process of removing salt out of salt water. Lint. Lint. Answer. Incorrect.
- 48:16Speaker 1: What's your answer, ma'am?
- 48:19Speaker 4: Oxidation. Incorrect.
- 48:21Speaker 1: Both incorrect, ladies. I apologize. That's okay. Now, because it's
- 48:27Speaker 1: a competition week, guess what? You get another tiebreaker because
- 48:31Speaker 1: I have to separate you two. D is going to
- 48:33Speaker 1: stay your flash word. So I just want to make
- 48:35Speaker 1: sure that you... So desalination. Very easy.
- 48:38Speaker 4: Desalination.
- 48:39Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 48:40Speaker 7: Okay.
- 48:41Speaker 1: All right, ladies, here it goes. Remember name first, eh, please?
- 48:46Speaker 1: Thank you so much. Love you, long time. I am
- 48:51Speaker 1: looking for... Looking for another word for sweets. Jamie. Stand by. Jamie.
- 49:04Speaker 1: All right. All right, Lynn, I heard you first. What's
- 49:07Speaker 1: your answer? Candy. Candy is the correct answer. Well done, Lynn.
- 49:12Speaker 1: You are the flash for champion once again. And a
- 49:14Speaker 1: step closer to getting your very own dishwasher. finished products.
- 49:18Speaker 1: The finish line is in sight. And remember, here's the
- 49:24Speaker 1: great thing. Just hold on. Jamie Lee Joseph. you are
- 49:28Speaker 1: still in line to win because even if you didn't
- 49:32Speaker 1: win today, you are still going to be part of
- 49:35Speaker 1: this week's lucky draw. So you could also win a
- 49:38Speaker 1: dishwasher by the end of the week.
- 49:41Speaker 3: Awesome.

- 50:57Speaker 1: Janine Lucas, welcome to the Flash Drive and thank you
- 51:00Speaker 1: for your letter.
- 51:02Speaker 7: Good afternoon, Carl. Wow, what an honour to finally be
- 51:06Speaker 7: on your show.
- 51:07Speaker 6: I've been entering college.
- 51:09Speaker 4: Really?
- 51:09Speaker 7: Competition after competition and I was like, wow, okay, wow.
- 51:13Speaker 7: I'm so excited to be on your show.
- 51:14Speaker 1: I mean, you don't have to be on my show
- 51:16Speaker 1: only for competitions. I mean, you can also chat to
- 51:18Speaker 1: me when I ask you stuff. Like the last week,
- 51:21Speaker 1: I asked you things like, how did you find your
- 51:23Speaker 1: partner cheating? You know, you could have contributed to that
- 51:25Speaker 1: if you wanted. I mean, that would have been fun.
- 51:27Speaker 1: I ask a lot of random things on this show
- 51:29Speaker 1: and it's fun. So whenever you want to message, you
- 51:31Speaker 1: go ahead and we'll call you so we can chat again.
- 51:34Speaker 7: I'll definitely do that.
- 51:36Speaker 1: You better. Now, I know that you're a super mom
- 51:38Speaker 1: of energetic boys. I know that you love to, you know,
- 51:43Speaker 1: do a little 4 a.m. running, you know, and then
- 51:45Speaker 1: there's school runs and work and then there's homework and
- 51:47Speaker 1: there's activities. And I think that maybe you just want
- 51:50Speaker 1: one weekend, according to you and your letter, where you
- 51:53Speaker 1: don't have to run around. The only running you want
- 51:55Speaker 1: to do is to water pool, to lump. to chill,
- 51:58Speaker 1: to relax.
- 51:59Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 52:00Speaker 1: Okay.
- 52:00Speaker 9: Yeah, exactly.
- 52:01Speaker 1: You work in real estate, is that correct? That's correct, yeah. Okay.
- 52:06Speaker 1: Let's get you a spring break. Let's get you a
- 52:08Speaker 1: day off. Now, I need some information about your boss, please. So,
- 52:11Speaker 1: David is your boss. Tell me what are some of
- 52:14Speaker 1: the things I need to know about David.
- 52:18Speaker 7: I can't give you all the secrets away now.
- 52:22Speaker 1: Oh, no, no. Okay, so let me ask you some
- 52:24Speaker 1: questions about David. Does David like sport?
- 52:28Speaker 7: Yes, he also runs and he likes golf. Yeah, and
- 52:32Speaker 7: he goes to gym. So yeah, he's very sporty.
- 52:37Speaker 1: And is David also like a real estate person? You know,
- 52:40Speaker 1: one of those top property people?
- 52:43Speaker 4: Yeah, so we.
- 52:44Speaker 7: Work in real estate, but we work in accounts. So
- 52:47Speaker 7: I'm an accountant and David is my financial manager.
- 52:50Speaker 1: Okay, that's fine. Financial manager, fitness... Uh, do you think
- 52:54Speaker 1: David watched the game at 11 o'clock on Saturday, the
- 52:57Speaker 1: Springbok game? Do you think that was part of it
- 52:58Speaker 1: so I can have a little rapport? Okay, cool. That's fine. Uh,
- 53:02Speaker 1: do you know what your boss's birth date is?
- 53:06Speaker 7: Um, in January, um, I think the 8th, if I'm
- 53:10Speaker 7: not mistaken.
- 53:11Speaker 1: Don't worry, January. Okay, cool. I just want to get
- 53:13Speaker 1: star sign. Okay. So Capricorn. Okay, cool. Uh, what else? Uh,
- 53:17Speaker 1: favorite snacks for David? Anything that you want to tell me?
- 53:19Speaker 1: Like what's the favorite snack?
- 53:21Speaker 7: Uh, Definitely those out spas.
- 53:27Speaker 4: What is it called?
- 53:28Speaker 1: The jungle out spas.
- 53:30Speaker 7: The jungle out spas, yes.
- 53:31Speaker 1: Got you. All right. Let me just type this into my... Okay, cool.
- 53:38Speaker 2: Right.
- 53:38Speaker 1: 25 September is a good day to take off. Don't
- 53:43Speaker 1: you agree? Because 24 is the holiday, then there's the weekend,
- 53:47Speaker 1: and then people have to go back to work on
- 53:48Speaker 1: the Friday. Should I pitch the 25th?
- 53:52Speaker 7: Definitely call, definitely. Make it a proper long weekend.
- 53:57Speaker 1: Janine Lucas. Let me cook. Let's call the boss. Hello? Hello? David,
- 54:22Speaker 1: it's Carl Wastey from KFM 94.5. How are you doing, sir? Carl,
- 54:26Speaker 1: I'm good. How are you? Lekker, David. I'm sorry to
- 54:30Speaker 1: bother you, man. I know you're on your way home, hopefully.
- 54:33Speaker 1: Are you on your way?
- 54:35Speaker 8: I'm on my way. Almost there, almost there.
- 54:38Speaker 1: You caught me just in time. Okay, perfect. Because I
- 54:41Speaker 1: know that you are on the brink of getting home.
- 54:43Speaker 1: I get you. That's your surname, right? Brink. Oh, is it? Oh, lovely.
- 54:48Speaker 1: What do you mean? Do you know the energy that
- 54:51Speaker 1: I had about you? I feel like you were born
- 54:52Speaker 1: in Jan, like the first month. You're like the first,
- 54:54Speaker 1: the go-getter. Is that true?
- 54:57Speaker 4: Oh, Carl, stop it.
- 54:58Speaker 1: Stop it. I'm just asking. I'm doing nothing, my friend. Honestly,
- 55:02Speaker 1: you remind me of the Springboks beating the All Blacks.
- 55:05Speaker 1: You're a man of victory. You're a man that always
- 55:06Speaker 1: knows how to succeed. And I know that you have
- 55:08Speaker 1: the team around you that also supports you. The reason
- 55:11Speaker 1: why I'm calling out of nowhere is because I know
- 55:14Speaker 1: a certain Janine Lucas who works with you and you're
- 55:16Speaker 1: the financial manager. Janine has worked her butt off for
- 55:19Speaker 1: those energetic boys of hers and You know, she's even
- 55:23Speaker 1: sacrificed some of her running early in the morning, you know,
- 55:26Speaker 1: just to kind of make sure that she is available
- 55:28Speaker 1: to the company. And what she's done is she's asked
- 55:32Speaker 1: me very nicely to ask you, David, if there's any
- 55:35Speaker 1: way that she can have the 25th of September off.
- 55:40Speaker 1: 24th is a Heritage Day public holiday. And then the 25th,
- 55:43Speaker 1: you come back to work on the Friday. She's hoping
- 55:46Speaker 1: for a long weekend to reset. And once again, keep
- 55:49Speaker 1: on running for you and your team, David. Are you
- 55:51Speaker 1: keen to give her that chance? I think it's going
- 55:55Speaker 1: to be perfectly fine because I think that sometimes, you know,
- 55:58Speaker 1: when you put your debit orders on the 25th, you
- 56:15Speaker 1: are not giving your bank account a chance to enjoy
- 56:17Speaker 1: your salary. I think the best thing to do is
- 56:19Speaker 1: to always go the first. So if you get paid
- 56:21Speaker 1: on the 25th, I think it's a rookie move if
- 56:23Speaker 1: you do your debits on the 25th and you can choose.
- 56:26Speaker 1: I would say you always go first or at the
- 56:28Speaker 1: end of the month. So that way your bank account
- 56:30Speaker 1: looks good for at least four days before the banks hit.
- 56:33Speaker 4: At least four days.
- 56:34Speaker 1: Yes. And obviously, given the public holiday, I think people
- 56:37Speaker 1: are going to be a lot more sympathetic to the
- 56:39Speaker 1: fact that payroll will probably be on that following Monday.
- 56:41Speaker 1: I think they'll be fine with that. Alternatively, I would
- 56:44Speaker 1: say I'd push payroll to 23 because then at least
- 56:48Speaker 1: people can have a chance to have their salary for
- 56:50Speaker 1: the long weekend. So if I can as well, David,
- 56:53Speaker 1: can we chat to the team and get people paid
- 56:55Speaker 1: on the 23rd and not the 24th? That way, Janine
- 56:57Speaker 1: gets a day off and everybody is happier with you
- 57:00Speaker 1: and your entire property team. I think we can make
- 57:04Speaker 1: a plan there, Carl.
- 57:05Speaker 4: Yes.
- 57:05Speaker 1: We can make a plan for sure. Yes, we can. David,
- 57:07Speaker 1: this is why you are the guy. Okay? This is
- 57:10Speaker 1: why you're the guy. And I want to thank you
- 57:12Speaker 1: so much for taking my call. Chat to Janine and
- 57:15Speaker 1: do all of the nursery in the morning. But for
- 57:17Speaker 1: Dorpstraat Properties, it is an honor to chat to you.
- 57:21Speaker 1: And thank you so much for the great work that
- 57:22Speaker 1: you do. And thanks for being a great leader to Janine.
- 57:25Speaker 1: She speaks very highly of you.
- 57:27Speaker 8: Perfect.
- 57:27Speaker 5: Thanks so much, Carl.
- 57:28Speaker 1: Appreciate it. Anytime. That's David from Dorpstraat Properties. How did
- 57:40Speaker 1: I do?
- 57:43Speaker 7: Excellent, excellent. And I must say, I also agree with
- 57:46Speaker 7: you about salaries being paid on the 23rd.
- 57:50Speaker 1: Well, you know what? When you allow me, when you
- 57:53Speaker 1: let me, give me the microphone, okay? You've given it
- 57:56Speaker 1: to me. I'm going to run with it. I might
- 57:58Speaker 1: go off script, but if I can get an entire
- 58:01Speaker 1: company paid early and get you a day off, it's
- 58:03Speaker 1: a win for me. You understand what I'm saying? I'm
- 58:06Speaker 1: winning today.
- 58:07Speaker 10: I'm with you.
- 58:08Speaker 1: Janine.
- 58:08Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 58:10Speaker 1: Take the long weekend. Do the payroll on 23. And
- 58:13Speaker 1: talking about payroll, you've just won 5,000 Rand from Lotto Land.
- 58:20Speaker 1: That's amazing.
- 58:21Speaker 4: Thank you so much.
- 58:22Speaker 1: Just a quick one. Have you tried your luck a
- 58:24Speaker 1: little bit on Lotto Land from 3 September? Place a
- 58:27Speaker 1: little bet there.
- 58:29Speaker 8: I did.
- 58:30Speaker 7: And I won a whole 10 Rand call.
- 58:32Speaker 13: Stop.
- 58:33Speaker 1: You won 10 Rand on Lotto Land. I do.
- 58:37Speaker 8: No.
- 58:38Speaker 1: Because you may have won 10 Rand on Lotterdam, but
- 58:39Speaker 1: you just won 10,000 Rand on the flash drive. Oh,
- 58:47Speaker 1: this is a good day. Honestly, I've had the best,
- 58:50Speaker 1: most successful day. If I can get an entire company
- 58:53Speaker 1: paid early and you a day off, I'm just, I'm
- 58:55Speaker 1: having the best day. Thank you for offering this, being
- 58:58Speaker 1: a facilitator of this for me and have a wonderful one.
- 59:01Speaker 1: And thanks for all the hard work that you do.
- 59:03Speaker 1: Remember with your days off, right? That long weekend Run
- 59:07Speaker 1: towards a pool.
- 59:09Speaker 14: I'm definitely going to do that, Paul.
- 59:11Speaker 7: And thank you so much to you. And thank you
- 59:13Speaker 7: to La Sala and the whole KFM team. Thank you
- 59:16Speaker 7: so much.
- 59:17Speaker 1: We love you. Enjoy. Janine Lucas, you're off. And that
- 59:20Speaker 1: is how easy it is to get you a day off.
- 59:22Speaker 1: Just give me some details and allow me to help
- 59:25Speaker 1: you out, okay? This is what I'm here for. I'm
- 59:27Speaker 1: designed for this. Go to primediaplus.com. Justify why you need
- 59:31Speaker 1: a little extra day. Let me get you that day.
- 59:32Speaker 1: Let me call your boss live and let's do this thing. Okay,
- 59:35Speaker 1: you deserve a spring break. And if you wanna try
- 59:37Speaker 1: your luck, just like Janine did, well, the US Powerball
- 59:40Speaker 1: is rolled over again and tomorrow morning, the estimated payout
- 59:43Speaker 1: is three billion rand. The next draw, tomorrow morning, you
- 59:47Speaker 1: give it a shot. You could be a winner. Imagine
- 59:49Speaker 1: a payout like that. You could be everybody's boss with
- 59:52Speaker 1: that money. So bet now on the US Powerball, only
- 59:54Speaker 1: on LottoLand.co.za. LottoLand changes lives. It's Will Lindley. This one's
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: called Head First. It's on your show. Flash drive, KFM 94.5.
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: Psychology is on the way, and I have a different
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: treatment for today. I know it sounds weird, but I'm
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: very fascinated. What is the last thing that made you
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: really laugh? I would love to know because I could
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: match a song to that scenario for you and we
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: can have a good psychology where we can share some
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: of the lighter stories of your life where you can
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: recall the last thing that made you laugh. It's a
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: very good thing to remember those moments over any negative
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: moments like bad traffic or A petty argument with a
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: significant other or some passive aggression from a colleague or
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: your boss. Rather remember the last thing that made you laugh. Cassidy.
- 1:00:43Speaker 5: So the dog that I mentioned earlier on, my little paparuno, Pappa,
- 1:00:47Speaker 5: who did her first 5K for the gun run. I
- 1:00:50Speaker 5: just want to let you know that she is afraid
- 1:00:53Speaker 5: of the color beige.
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: Wait, how do you discover that this … Okay, so listen.
- 1:01:02Speaker 5: She's very cute and I think a lot of things
- 1:01:06Speaker 5: make her nervous. So I'm chatting to my mom and
- 1:01:09Speaker 5: my mom's whole house is 50 shades of beige. She's
- 1:01:12Speaker 5: from Cape Town, so that's how it goes. And the
- 1:01:17Speaker 5: toilets are really beige. So I'm chatting to my mom
- 1:01:21Speaker 5: the other day and she's.
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: Like, I don't know what it is about this dog.
- 1:01:23Speaker 8: Hey, she just won't go in these beige bathrooms.
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: And then I'm like, mom, what are you implying? She's
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: afraid of the color beige.
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: Your mom said that out loud, that your dog is
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: afraid of the color beige. Yes. Yes.
- 1:01:37Speaker 5: And so I, being myself, I'm like, oh my goodness,
- 1:01:41Speaker 5: you're exactly who Constantia Mom makes you out to be.
- 1:01:44Speaker 5: And so I then took my dog for a walk
- 1:01:47Speaker 5: and I went into, there's a beige cafe nearby.
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: Where I stay.
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: You have a beige cafe? The south is so cool.
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: It is. Okay, yeah?
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: It's a beige cafe.
- 1:01:55Speaker 10: And then?
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: And I tell you what, eh? The moment it came
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: into that beige room, brakes. She puts her brakes on.
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: And doesn't... Like, I know dogs are afraid of shiny tiles. Like,
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: I've heard of that.
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: Look here.
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: But beige, dude.
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: I'm showing you a photo. I know you can't see.
- 1:02:10Speaker 5: But this is a photo of her not wanting to
- 1:02:12Speaker 5: go into the beige bathroom.
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: Okay, I see. She's peering her head around. Oh, I
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: can see the beige. Yes.
- 1:02:18Speaker 12: Okay.
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: I mean, the only songs that'll match the last thing
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: that made you belly laugh would either be like... That's
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: one of them, and then there's another one. It's not beige,
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: but it's cream. It's close enough. So those are the
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: two songs I'd recommend for you in psychology if it
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: was indeed you, all right? Last thing that made me laugh, Lekha,
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: is when somebody asked me, How does it feel to
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: be a celebrity over the weekend? And nothing will prepare you, Cassidy,
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: for answering a question just like that.
- 1:02:57Speaker 4: Nothing.
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: In my head, I was kind of thinking maybe I
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: should play up to this and say, well, you know,
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: being a celebrity, it means that everything in my life
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: is free. I get a lot of boxes of different freebies,
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: which is very easy. And of course, my Mercedes Benz
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: that I replaced for my Porsche the other day. The
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: Ferrari was also in the garage at the time. It's
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: just it's difficult getting the paparazzi to really get along
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: with you as well. You know, that's how it is
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: to be a celebrity. Just give me a moment. My
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: manager's calling. Hello. Yes, one million. Tell them two. Thank you. Anyway,
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: what was that? You know, I was thinking that I
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: should do that in my head. And then I just
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: had to say to the person, like, I'm so flattered
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: that you think I'm a celebrity. But everything that I've
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: ever done in this industry has been a service. So
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: I think I'm closer to somebody who works in the
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: service industry than someone that could be seen as a celebrity.
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: Because when you pitch up here and you open a microphone,
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: it is indeed a service. People choose you. So you
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: have to choose the opportunity to serve them properly. That's it.
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: So that was kind of my response to that. But
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: it made me laugh, man, because how do you even
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: answer that? How does it feel to be a celebrity?
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: It's fascinating, the opinion and the impression that people get
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: when you work in media. But that was the thing
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: that made me laugh the most. And we had a
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: chuckle together, which is funny.
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: What song would you then recommend?
- 1:04:12Speaker 5: I would say 925 by Dolly Parton.
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: Do you think so?
- 1:04:16Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: Because it is a service and you've got to work hard.
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: I was thinking of another one.
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: It's a bit sadder.
- 1:04:22Speaker 12: Oh.
- 1:04:23Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: But the song, you say 9 to 5. Yeah. Working hard.
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: That's actually a very good one. I think I'll go with,
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: if I were to be forced, I'd probably go with
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: a song like this. That's why I need you to hear.
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: I found a reason. Because this is a calling To
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: change who I used to be And also it started
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: like I'm not a perfect person That's where it starts
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: Because I think some people think That there's a certain
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: perfection with celebrities And there's a line in there I'm
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: not a perfect person So it's true I'm not Far
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: from it So the last thing that made you laugh
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: Share the story I'll share a song Got it Fa
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: chorar Esta vida es tan linda Fa chorar Fa chorar
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: It's mi casa la vida Obrigado Is this Rieta?
- 1:05:20Speaker 14: Yes, it is.
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: Hello, Rieta. This is your theatre. And we are ready
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: for the concept. Are you, Rieta? Yes, I am. First
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: and foremost, thank you very much for supporting our show.
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: We really appreciate it. And when I say our, I
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: mean like, it's our show. With you included. Don't forget that, right?
- 1:05:41Speaker 4: Absolutely.
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: Sorry we had to move concept today because we're very
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: busy this week, so we just had to shift it
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: to this spot. But same, same rule applies. We've got
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: Dome Glamping South Africa. These glamping pods are amazing. They're
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: out in the Cape Winelands between Paul and Franschhoek. They
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: are beautiful on the banks of the Berg River. 5,000
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: rand is the prize from Dome Glamping SA. They're available
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: on Insta. Facebook and TikTok with the same handle and
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: you could be a winner. Rieta, we have two single
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: word clues for you. Remember that machine and a wool
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: were the incorrect guesses from Friday. Here is your chance.
- 1:06:16Speaker 8: Answer the question.
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: Did I guess?
- 1:06:19Speaker 3: You're asking me nonsense?
- 1:06:22Speaker 5: Tell me.
- 1:06:24Speaker 3: Again.
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: It will never get old. Never. Right, Rieta, you got
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: two single word clues coming at you. Then I need
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: two guesses from you. One after each. Let's go, Cassidy. Hello,
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: can I just interject here? Thanks for clicking on the
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: podcast and supporting the flash drive. You can't get the
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: concept words here. You're going to have to listen to
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: them live a little later. I still love you though. Okay,
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: good luck. But thank you very much, Riyad, for trying.
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: You're a star. But no luck just yet. A 5,000-rund
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: prize from Dome Glamping, South Africa. It could be yours.
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: Same time, same space. Only for this week, around this time.
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: For the concept, and you could be a winner. Good luck.
- 1:07:07Speaker 14: There's no going back.
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: It's Katy Perry. Juicy J. Dark Horse. You know what?
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: One of the dark horses of this show is something
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: called the one-up that we do at the end of
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: every show. And it's just a lovely, joyous thing to do,
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: especially when we can give you the musical connections with
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: certain things. So naturally, when you're at a braai, there's
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: this tendency of people trying to one-up each other. And
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: it usually happens in different spaces. Have you noticed when
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: you sit there and it's like, oh, you know, I
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: got a new car. What type of car? Oh, it's
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: a hatchback. Oh, you should have got a sedan. Okay,
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: thank you. Where do you live? I live in Tafelsa. Oh,
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: you should have got the table view. You know, that
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: sort of thing. People try to one-up each other all
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: the time. I don't know why they do that, but
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: it's just, it's ego. But we do it in a
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: fun way. Behold, one-up musical.
- 1:07:54Speaker 8: How about the best songs for you guys with animals?
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: Best songs with creatures in it? I've got a few
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: that comes to mind. Do you know why this is relevant?
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: The lion's sleeping.
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: Shh.
- 1:08:12Speaker 3: Sleeping.
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: Well, you know what?
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: That was low-hanging, I'm sorry. Go, yes?
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: Speaking of low-hanging.
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: Best songs of animals, go!
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: Who let the dogs out?
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a house lion.
- 1:08:25Speaker 2: Same thing.
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: Another low-hanging fruit.
- 1:08:29Speaker 8: My anaconda don't. My anaconda don't.
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: It's a species of snake, for those in the back. Yes,
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: thank you.
- 1:08:35Speaker 8: And a movie on E.
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: Well, no, it's E's only movie.
- 1:08:39Speaker 8: You've seen it 18 times.
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: Anaconda tonight on E.
- 1:08:44Speaker 5: This is a banger in the south where I'm from.
- 1:08:49Speaker 7: Really?
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: Yeah, okay. Best songs, the animals in them. Running around,
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: running around, running around, throwing that turtle.
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: Really, really sorry for what you're going to think of me.
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: No, no, no, no.
- 1:09:08Speaker 8: What's your next song?
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: I'm like a bird on the highway. I don't know
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: where my toe is. Stop it.
- 1:09:24Speaker 8: What?
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: So now we have to do another one, Beatrice. Yes,
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: you know what?
- 1:09:29Speaker 8: Let's keep it musical.
- 1:09:30Speaker 4: Why not?
- 1:09:30Speaker 14: Really?
- 1:09:30Speaker 4: Yes.
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: I love the one a musical.
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: I do.
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: Hold on. Are you ready with a device? Because I
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: know I got the system. Got your phone. Okay, cool. Right.
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: Give it to us, sir.
- 1:09:40Speaker 8: So, you know, we're going into silly season. And by that,
- 1:09:42Speaker 8: I mean election season.
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:09:45Speaker 8: And that gave me a thought. If you had to
- 1:09:48Speaker 8: have a political party, how about you guys create a
- 1:09:52Speaker 8: playlist that speaks to your political party's manifesto?
- 1:09:56Speaker 4: Oh, yes.
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: Are you getting a backtrack?
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: I am like cooking here already.
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: Where are you going?
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: Let's do this thing. Sorry.
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: It's okay.
- 1:10:08Speaker 8: These songs are paid for by the political party involved.
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: Something like that.
- 1:10:13Speaker 4: Yes.
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: Can I go first?
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: You may. You may go for it. Loud and proud, girl.
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm just turning my volume up.
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: Let's do this thing.
- 1:10:23Speaker 13: I'm going to make sure that all of our roads
- 1:10:36Speaker 13: are fixed.
- 1:10:37Speaker 5: Our faulty traffic lights fixed.
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: So are you singing to the other political parties? They
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: tried their best.
- 1:10:45Speaker 2: But they can't.
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: They can't.
- 1:10:47Speaker 2: So I'm going to fix. I'm going to fix the country.
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: You are. Yep. Okay. This sounds good. I like it.
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: Keep it playing. I love that. Yes. This is very good.
- 1:11:02Speaker 8: We've lost Carl.
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: I've lost in the song. Okay. If I had a manifesto,
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: I'd be simple. First and foremost, you need to identify
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: the candidate.
- 1:11:12Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: So ladies and gentlemen, who are you going to put
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: your trust in? Thank you so much. You vote for me.
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: You vote for change. What's your next song? Go for it.
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: I want to be more involved in the communities.
- 1:11:37Speaker 5: So I want you to understand that you can call
- 1:11:41Speaker 5: me Maybe. Don't call me after working hours, but you
- 1:11:45Speaker 5: can call me and just know that I will help
- 1:11:49Speaker 5: with any and all community outreach programs.
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: Love it. I'm voting for you. I have to.
- 1:11:54Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 1:11:56Speaker 2: I just had to put a boundary in there because
- 1:11:58Speaker 2: I'm also still a youth.
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: Don't forget.
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: You know?
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: Don't forget this, right? If you are going to vote
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: for me, what will you receive with voting for me, right?
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: You vote for Wastie, you get the love.
- 1:12:07Speaker 7: The Wastie love.
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: The Wastie love. Thank you very much. I appreciate you.
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: Give us another. You're going to help the electrical system
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: and walk down electric... Avenue.
- 1:12:31Speaker 2: No more power cuts.
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: Oh, thank you.
- 1:12:33Speaker 2: There is going to be so much electricity. You're not
- 1:12:37Speaker 2: going to know what to do.
- 1:12:39Speaker 5: I know that's our problem right now, but you're not
- 1:12:42Speaker 5: going to have to worry about turning lights.
- 1:12:44Speaker 2: All those habits, done. You will never be without power.
- 1:12:48Speaker 8: You get my vote on that one.
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: Okay, hold on. While we're here, electricity is not our
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: only problem. Don't forget, we're going to El Nino, which means.
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: Don't wait until the water runs dry. Go save that water.
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: If it's yellow, let it mellow.
- 1:13:13Speaker 2: And the second part?
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: If it's brown, flush it down. Unless you're doing high rocks. Anyway,
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: what else do we have here?
- 1:13:26Speaker 3: What?
- 1:13:33Speaker 2: Hold on.
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: This is an MJ song.
- 1:13:35Speaker 8: I knew it.
- 1:13:36Speaker 2: I'm going to sort out all this crime and corruption.
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: Yes, you do.
- 1:13:39Speaker 2: That's happening currently.
- 1:13:42Speaker 5: Not one corrupt politician will be in my party. We're
- 1:13:47Speaker 5: going to do checks, especially their taxes.
- 1:13:50Speaker 4: But we're going to do checks.
- 1:13:51Speaker 2: We're going to vet these people. And I tell you what, eh?
- 1:13:54Speaker 5: We won't wait until 4.30 to put their names down.
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: We'll do it at 3.30. Thank you. My last one
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: is quite simple. If I'm elected as your leader.
- 1:14:09Speaker 8: Thank you. Sounds like another president.
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: I didn't mean to trump you. What's $ 5, 000? He said, no, no, no, no, no, no.
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: I didn't mean that, but I'm just saying. Spread the wealth. Okay?
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: Spread the wealth.
- 1:14:33Speaker 8: I'll vote for both of you.
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: Thank you so much. Thank you very much. And thank
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: you for giving us your vote of confidence and listening
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: to The Flash Drive and KF94. 5. We're back tomorrow at
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: 3 o'clock with lots of giveaways, a chance to win
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: a dishwasher, two and a half thousand cashbacks. I'm going
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: to call your boss to get you a day off.
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: And plus, there are just many more things that you
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: can look out for, including just a concept prize added
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: at 5,000 bucks. Just come back tomorrow, okay?
- 1:14:56Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:14:57Speaker 4: Love you. Bye.
- 1:14:58Speaker 13: Bye.
