Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: With Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Okay, here we go.
- 0:04Speaker 1: Where the plays get broken down and science gets denied.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Dude, they said I gotta come off the bench.
- 0:08Speaker 1: Hour two of Off the Bench, live from the Raising
- 0:11Speaker 1: Cane Studio.
- 0:39Speaker 2: All right, welcome back in. Hour number two of OTV.
- 0:44Speaker 2: Here live from the Raising Cane Studio. Jake, Flynn, Alondra,
- 0:50Speaker 2: Tay-Tay all here with you. Last night, I had a
- 0:56Speaker 2: full slate of NBA action, real action, regular season action.
- 1:01Speaker 3: Can I say something before you start this? Yeah.
- 1:04Speaker 4: You want me to tell you how you know I
- 1:06Speaker 4: was sick without me telling you I was sick?
- 1:07Speaker 2: You watched the NBA?
- 1:08Speaker 3: I watched the Pelicans. Yeah.
- 1:11Speaker 2: It was really good.
- 1:12Speaker 3: You had to put some on.
- 1:13Speaker 5: That's actually sick.
- 1:14Speaker 6: It was really good. I bet that made you feel better.
- 1:16Speaker 2: Until it wasn't. And they got outscored by 13 in
- 1:19Speaker 2: the second half. They got outscored by nine in the
- 1:21Speaker 2: fourth quarter. They lose late to the Pacers, 123 to 120.
- 1:25Speaker 3: If you think about it, though, pick and roll is
- 1:28Speaker 3: hard to defend.
- 1:30Speaker 6: It's a newer concept, for sure.
- 1:31Speaker 3: A new concept. They started running the fourth. Wow. Shocking.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Siakam had 30 points for the Pacers. Terry's Halliburton's back.
- 1:43Speaker 2: He had 23 for the Pacers.
- 1:45Speaker 3: He's so good.
- 1:48Speaker 2: Zion, though, 22 points. Hit all his free throws. Two
- 1:52Speaker 2: of four from beyond the arc. Had a chance. He
- 1:54Speaker 2: actually shot the last ball for the Pelicans with a
- 1:57Speaker 2: chance to try to tie it up.
- 1:58Speaker 3: Here we go.
- 2:02Speaker 2: Murray had a big night. Derrick Queen had a big night,
- 2:08Speaker 2: 18 minutes, 10 points, 10 boards.
- 2:09Speaker 6: Derrick Queen's good.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:11Speaker 4: He got a little jawing match with Halliburton. Whatever his
- 2:16Speaker 4: name is.
- 2:17Speaker 6: I think I'd take a queen in that matchup.
- 2:19Speaker 2: You probably have a card of Tyrese Halliburton.
- 2:20Speaker 3: Halliburton.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Yeah. So the rotation looked pretty good. You played 10 guys.
- 2:31Speaker 2: The roster looks deeper. But surprise, surprise, you still can't
- 2:35Speaker 2: close out games. I just hope that's not going to
- 2:39Speaker 2: be the common theme. Because, again, there was a lot
- 2:41Speaker 2: of good there for the Pelicans.
- 2:44Speaker 6: Let's just hope the roster stays deep.
- 2:46Speaker 3: I know.
- 2:47Speaker 6: That's my biggest concern, as it should be for everybody.
- 2:50Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:51Speaker 4: Look, I didn't watch any last year. I know people
- 2:54Speaker 4: kept saying they can't finish, they can't finish. I did
- 2:57Speaker 4: watch a team last night, probably the first time I've
- 3:01Speaker 4: ever locked into a Pelicans game. I did see a
- 3:03Speaker 4: team that didn't just poo down their leg, though. Pacers
- 3:06Speaker 4: played really well at the end. They couldn't miss a shot.
- 3:09Speaker 6: I mean, last year, DeJounte Murray was hurt most of
- 3:12Speaker 6: the season, so fears probably had to play a little
- 3:15Speaker 6: bit more than you wanted him to. He's still a
- 3:17Speaker 6: young guy. If he could stay healthy, that's a good backcourt.
- 3:24Speaker 6: At least it felt like it was loud in the
- 3:26Speaker 6: blender last night.
- 3:27Speaker 3: Yeah, it was rocking.
- 3:30Speaker 2: Meecy was awesome last night. He had 13 points, 14 boards,
- 3:35Speaker 2: five assists, three blocks. You got a new coach, and
- 3:42Speaker 2: he's definitely going to be your five on this team.
- 3:46Speaker 2: And I think Derek Queen is going to come in
- 3:47Speaker 2: in different roles. Again, he only played 18 minutes. Meecy
- 3:50Speaker 2: played 30 minutes. And now Fierce, he's in the starting lineup.
- 3:55Speaker 2: He played 21 minutes. That's going to be one of
- 3:57Speaker 2: your young players. But, I don't know, interesting to see
- 4:01Speaker 2: how it works out. First game of the year. I'm like, Matt,
- 4:04Speaker 2: I was dialed in. I was watching. I was enjoying it.
- 4:07Speaker 2: Found myself enjoying it until I didn't.
- 4:11Speaker 6: I mean, at least it's something you really kind of expected,
- 4:16Speaker 6: you know, in the back of your mind, you're like, Hey,
- 4:18Speaker 6: this is going really good. Something new Orleans is going
- 4:20Speaker 6: to do is going to backfire here down the stretch.
- 4:22Speaker 4: Yeah. And you saw like how different of a human
- 4:29Speaker 4: Halliburton was in the fourth quarter.
- 4:31Speaker 3: Like, that's why he's... I mean, he's... That's why he's
- 4:33Speaker 3: an all-star right there.
- 4:34Speaker 4: And you could tell, like, if you had to pick
- 4:36Speaker 4: at one person and be like, oh, that's the guy.
- 4:37Speaker 4: Maybe he didn't have the best... I don't know if
- 4:39Speaker 4: he had the best stats on the court.
- 4:41Speaker 2: I have no idea.
- 4:43Speaker 4: But he's one of those guys you can just tell
- 4:45Speaker 4: when it's in his hand.
- 4:46Speaker 3: You're like, you probably feel really good.
- 4:49Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 4:49Speaker 3: Your Pacers fan, you didn't feel very good.
- 4:51Speaker 6: When the game's on the line and he's got the ball.
- 4:53Speaker 3: That's what I'm saying.
- 4:53Speaker 6: You look at him, you're like, we don't got a
- 4:55Speaker 6: guy like that.
- 4:56Speaker 4: Right.
- 4:56Speaker 3: Like, in the third, I started watching the third.
- 4:58Speaker 2: And one he got at the very end.
- 4:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:00Speaker 4: When I started watching the third... I didn't really notice him,
- 5:03Speaker 4: but I did in the fourth. And that's kind of
- 5:05Speaker 4: the difference.
- 5:07Speaker 6: I mean, dude, he took that Pacers team to the
- 5:10Speaker 6: NBA Finals two years ago. People forget about that because,
- 5:13Speaker 6: you know, he tears the Achilles and that ultimately wound
- 5:16Speaker 6: up being a short series. But Halliburton in the playoffs
- 5:19Speaker 6: and in crunch time, like, he's one of the best
- 5:21Speaker 6: in the league.
- 5:21Speaker 4: The only thing that I noticed that I thought that
- 5:23Speaker 4: they poo-pooed down their leg on was they got into
- 5:26Speaker 4: foul trouble with 845 left in the fourth.
- 5:29Speaker 3: Like, they were in the bonus. Is that what you
- 5:33Speaker 3: call it?
- 5:33Speaker 1: Yes.
- 5:33Speaker 3: Did I know it? That would be it.
- 5:35Speaker 6: What's after the bonus, Mike?
- 5:36Speaker 3: I'm like over myself watching myself on the radio right now.
- 5:39Speaker 6: What's after the bonus?
- 5:41Speaker 3: Double bonus?
- 5:42Speaker 6: Hey, look at our guy.
- 5:43Speaker 3: Is that really? Is that it?
- 5:44Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:45Speaker 3: Hell yeah.
- 5:48Speaker 2: You nailed it.
- 5:50Speaker 6: You're already dialed in.
- 5:51Speaker 2: NBA correspondent Matt Flynn.
- 5:53Speaker 3: Not a big deal. Pick and roll, though. We need
- 5:57Speaker 3: to go back to the basics on D.
- 6:01Speaker 2: All right, so the Pelicans have the Jazz coming up
- 6:04Speaker 2: on the road, and that's going to be on Friday.
- 6:06Speaker 2: Then they've got a game at Denver. Then they host
- 6:09Speaker 2: Denver on October the 24th and the 28th. Last night
- 6:13Speaker 2: did look better. Still not good enough, and we'll see
- 6:16Speaker 2: if they can find a way to change their fortune
- 6:18Speaker 2: at the end of the game.
- 6:19Speaker 3: You know what? When at the end, they scored on
- 6:22Speaker 3: a pick and roll like three or four straight times.
- 6:24Speaker 4: Just straight possessions. They ran the same play every single time.
- 6:27Speaker 4: It made me feel like LSU versus Kentucky. and thrown
- 6:30Speaker 4: to the tight end. Three plays in a row.
- 6:33Speaker 3: I'm like, do something.
- 6:34Speaker 2: Here you go, Willie.
- 6:35Speaker 3: Come on.
- 6:35Speaker 2: Here you go, Willie Rodriguez.
- 6:38Speaker 3: Don't say they can't do it again, because they can. Yeah,
- 6:41Speaker 3: that's true. Make them not.
- 6:43Speaker 2: Every great coach that I ever played for would do
- 6:48Speaker 2: just that. If a play was working.
- 6:51Speaker 3: Every now and then, yeah.
- 6:52Speaker 2: If a play was working like that, they'd be like,
- 6:55Speaker 2: run it back. Flip it. Same play, flip it. If
- 7:00Speaker 2: we picked up, like, I don't know, seven yards on, like,
- 7:04Speaker 2: a stretch lead to the left, you could bet your
- 7:08Speaker 2: bottom dollar Norv's going to say flip it. That's all
- 7:11Speaker 2: he'd say, flip it. And we'd run it to the right. No,
- 7:14Speaker 2: he'd say flip it. Like this. Flip it.
- 7:17Speaker 6: We knew we weren't huddling because we were doing the
- 7:19Speaker 6: same play. We had NASCAR. Just get up there and
- 7:21Speaker 6: go fast. If it was the same, it was NASCAR flip.
- 7:23Speaker 3: Yeah. Go fast, turn left. Go fast, turn left.
- 7:29Speaker 2: Starting to get him back, y'all. Starting to get him
- 7:32Speaker 2: back a little bit.
- 7:33Speaker 3: Getting delusional.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Exactly. You know, now that you've given us this information,
- 7:42Speaker 2: you're going to be the basketball correspondent, right?
- 7:44Speaker 4: Well, as long as I'm sick for the next five,
- 7:47Speaker 4: six months, I got you. It's the only way I'm watching.
- 7:51Speaker 2: Not all heroes wear capes, bud. We'll take it.
- 7:57Speaker 3: Yep. Thank you.
- 8:00Speaker 2: LSU still got an exhibition, right? Against Florida State in Tallahassee.
- 8:04Speaker 2: And then you start off the season against what the
- 8:07Speaker 2: artist formerly known as UNO.
- 8:09Speaker 3: Yeah, LSU New Orleans now.
- 8:13Speaker 6: Still the privateers there.
- 8:15Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:16Speaker 6: Women's got an exhibition tonight.
- 8:18Speaker 2: We were LSU Shreveport. We were the pilots.
- 8:22Speaker 6: Didn't they set like some sort of Juco baseball record?
- 8:24Speaker 2: Yeah, they went undefeated. Whole year.
- 8:26Speaker 6: It went like, was it like 40 straight or whatever
- 8:29Speaker 6: it was?
- 8:29Speaker 2: 50 something. Setting a betting line on Flint here.
- 8:39Speaker 3: Over under.
- 8:41Speaker 2: Over under 9 a.m.
- 8:43Speaker 3: That's a good line. That's a good line.
- 8:48Speaker 2: I'm going under.
- 8:49Speaker 6: I'll take. Wait, meaning he'll lead before?
- 8:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:52Speaker 6: I'll take over.
- 8:55Speaker 2: Those eyes have gotten pretty puffy.
- 8:57Speaker 6: I think Matt actually makes a double show.
- 8:59Speaker 1: Oh.
- 9:01Speaker 3: I hope you're getting plus money.
- 9:04Speaker 6: That's what I'm saying. That's a long shot. My return
- 9:07Speaker 6: is going to be great.
- 9:08Speaker 3: Plus $ 3, 500. Yeah, I'm just.
- 9:09Speaker 6: Playing the odds at this point. All right.
- 9:12Speaker 2: So maybe this isn't his Jordan flu game.
- 9:16Speaker 3: Jordan didn't play the whole game.
- 9:17Speaker 2: He scored 38, I think.
- 9:19Speaker 3: 36, 38.
- 9:19Speaker 6: You haven't scored anything.
- 9:22Speaker 3: Are you kidding me?
- 9:22Speaker 5: I'll give you two points for this NBA.
- 9:25Speaker 3: Okay.
- 9:25Speaker 2: He hit a three. He hit a three. He did
- 9:27Speaker 2: the mellow. He hit a side of his head.
- 9:30Speaker 3: I made y'all laugh once earlier.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:33Speaker 3: That's like worth 10.
- 9:33Speaker 6: I don't remember laughing.
- 9:36Speaker 3: That was a double-double.
- 9:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't really remember laughing.
- 9:40Speaker 3: Double-double flu games. Solid.
- 9:43Speaker 2: You can go.
- 9:44Speaker 3: See ya.
- 9:44Speaker 5: Just leave now.
- 9:46Speaker 6: You got that in the first half. We'll see you, bud.
- 9:48Speaker 4: I might go see our guy, Dr. Stephen Etheridge.
- 9:56Speaker 2: You might dabble.
- 9:57Speaker 3: You might dabble.
- 9:58Speaker 2: You might dabble. I'm going to guess that the Matt
- 10:00Speaker 2: Flynn top ten quarterback rankings aren't available.
- 10:05Speaker 3: I have them ready.
- 10:06Speaker 2: You have them ready? All right. Well, let's take a break.
- 10:11Speaker 2: And when we come back, let's see if you can
- 10:14Speaker 2: get through them. It might be the last thing we
- 10:16Speaker 2: get from you today.
- 10:17Speaker 3: Okay.
- 10:18Speaker 2: So we'll see if we can get through your quarterback rankings.
- 10:21Speaker 2: When we come back here on OTP.

- 11:53Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 11:56Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 12:36Speaker 4: All righty.
- 12:44Speaker 2: Welcome back in. OTB here live from the Raising Cane Studio. Good?
- 13:01Speaker 7: Oh, yeah.
- 13:03Speaker 2: All right, we are going to get Matt Flynn's top
- 13:06Speaker 2: 10 NFL quarterback rankings before we get him out of
- 13:08Speaker 2: here today.
- 13:10Speaker 3: We did it. We prepared. Proper preparation prevents poor performance.
- 13:14Speaker 2: It does. All right, y'all ready?
- 13:16Speaker 4: Well, week six, NFL quarterback power rankings. A little shake
- 13:19Speaker 4: up here in the back end of this. A couple
- 13:23Speaker 4: people towards the back end of this top 10 could
- 13:25Speaker 4: have been swapped out, but everybody, a little curveball. Let's
- 13:28Speaker 4: start with number 10, Mr. Kirk Cousins. He remains up
- 13:33Speaker 4: there because he remains Mr.
- 13:34Speaker 3: Consistent.
- 13:35Speaker 4: The more he can play well and the more Fernando
- 13:38Speaker 4: Mendoza cannot have to play this season, the better it
- 13:42Speaker 4: is for the longevity of the Las Vegas Raiders and
- 13:45Speaker 4: Fernando Mendoza's career. If Kirk would have played bad, I'm
- 13:49Speaker 4: sure he would have gotten thrown in there and got
- 13:50Speaker 4: some good experience, but we've all seen it happen.
- 13:53Speaker 3: A.K.
- 13:53Speaker 4: Patrick Mahomes, when you sit for a while and then
- 13:56Speaker 4: you get to play, a lot better things happen. He's
- 13:58Speaker 4: learning how to be a professional from Kirk. thuggins right
- 14:01Speaker 4: there so we're going to keep him up there he's
- 14:02Speaker 4: got 14 touchdowns five interceptions 98 qb rating this year
- 14:06Speaker 4: and yes they started out hot they've lost a little
- 14:09Speaker 4: bit but they were at three um they lost by
- 14:11Speaker 4: three points on the road against a 501 buffalo but
- 14:14Speaker 4: they played a hell of a game so i'm going
- 14:16Speaker 4: to give kirk a little more credit and we get
- 14:18Speaker 4: a little bit more runway here on the top 10
- 14:20Speaker 4: but they got to win a game here pretty soon
- 14:21Speaker 4: number nine boom drake may We're going to see him
- 14:27Speaker 4: play tonight against Caleb Williams. A couple of 2024 draft
- 14:33Speaker 4: class first rounders going head-to-head tonight.
- 14:35Speaker 3: Looking forward.
- 14:36Speaker 4: He's a guy that I think the first week of
- 14:38Speaker 4: the season maybe had the Sam Darnold scene ghost effect,
- 14:41Speaker 4: but has played his ass off as of late. Over 1,463
- 14:45Speaker 4: yards this season. 11 touchdowns, 7 interceptions, but recently it's
- 14:50Speaker 4: been a lot more. Now, he's got the most interceptions ever.
- 14:55Speaker 4: than anybody on this board at seven. But I do
- 14:59Speaker 4: got to give him a lot of credit. A lot
- 15:00Speaker 4: of those came early in the season. And he has
- 15:02Speaker 4: turned his play around, which, in fact, has turned the
- 15:06Speaker 4: whole Patriots season around. And last week, he was my
- 15:08Speaker 4: Flynn-credible performance of the week. So give him a lot
- 15:11Speaker 4: of credit. All right, this next one's going to shock y'all.
- 15:14Speaker 4: It shocked even me when I put it on there.
- 15:16Speaker 4: My pencil was trembling when I did it. I didn't
- 15:20Speaker 4: feel good. I still don't feel great about it, but
- 15:21Speaker 4: I did it. I'm going to stick behind. I'm going
- 15:22Speaker 4: to say it with my chest up. Ooh, CJ Straub, Texans.
- 15:28Speaker 4: I picked them to go to the Super Bowl this year.
- 15:30Speaker 4: So I'm putting a lot of positive vibes towards CJ
- 15:32Speaker 4: right now. I'm putting positive. No one talked worse about
- 15:34Speaker 4: him than I did last season in the offseason. But
- 15:38Speaker 4: as of late, I watched that game because I was curious.
- 15:40Speaker 4: They'll be like, I watched the game last week because
- 15:42Speaker 4: I was curious, why aren't they winning games? They are
- 15:45Speaker 4: so good. Their defense, we saw it last year, incredible.
- 15:48Speaker 4: CJ has had like, he hasn't looked like a shadow
- 15:51Speaker 4: of himself in years.
- 15:52Speaker 3: What?
- 15:53Speaker 4: Kind of feels like he's found that love and feeling
- 15:55Speaker 4: a little bit. He's playing really well, not making a
- 15:58Speaker 4: whole lot of mistakes. He's got nine touchdowns, one interception,
- 16:02Speaker 4: triple-digit passer rating on the season. He's also got nearly
- 16:06Speaker 4: 100 yards rushing as well. So, yes, their record isn't great,
- 16:10Speaker 4: but he is taking care of the ball. Last year,
- 16:12Speaker 4: they lost because of him. This year, it's a whole
- 16:15Speaker 4: different story. Yeah, they can't run the football.
- 16:18Speaker 2: A lot of this. They can't. He's doing everything.
- 16:20Speaker 3: Yeah, they can't. He's having to do a whole heck
- 16:22Speaker 3: of a lot. But you know what?
- 16:24Speaker 4: Look, I picked him to go to the Super Bowl,
- 16:25Speaker 4: so I'm still hoping that my pick comes true. So selfishly,
- 16:28Speaker 4: I'm putting him on the top ten. All right, let's
- 16:29Speaker 4: go to number seven.
- 16:33Speaker 3: Mr.
- 16:34Speaker 4: Joe Burrow moving up one to my number seven spot. 1,361
- 16:40Speaker 4: yards passed at 11 touchdowns, three interceptions, touting a 104.4 QBR.
- 16:47Speaker 3: Got a Russian touchdown as well. 3-2 as a starter.
- 16:52Speaker 3: Let's see.
- 16:52Speaker 4: They had a bye week, but they're 3-2 leading up
- 16:55Speaker 4: to that point. So, you know, he pulls a Lamar
- 16:57Speaker 4: and gets to move up.
- 16:58Speaker 2: Do you have Ravens this week? I believe so.
- 17:02Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 17:05Speaker 4: He's got the fourth best rating among regular starters this season.
- 17:10Speaker 4: His rating only behind Purdy, Goff, and Trevor Lawrence. He's
- 17:14Speaker 4: also the most accurate passer on the board at 71.4% completion.
- 17:17Speaker 4: All right, go to number six.
- 17:20Speaker 1: Mr.
- 17:20Speaker 3: Bryce Young. Look, pretty sure he had a bye week, right?
- 17:25Speaker 2: No, they beat Philadelphia on the road.
- 17:26Speaker 3: Oh, they did. Oh, yeah.
- 17:28Speaker 4: He did have a really good game. I moved him
- 17:30Speaker 4: up just because somebody else had to move in. I
- 17:32Speaker 4: could not ignore it. But, you know, 1,549 yards passed,
- 17:36Speaker 4: 11 touchdowns, two interceptions on the season. My guy, just
- 17:40Speaker 4: keep playing well. He is playing well. I hope you
- 17:42Speaker 4: don't against the Saints, but, like, look, Panthers are for real.
- 17:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:46Speaker 3: They ain't playing around. They made the playoffs last year.
- 17:48Speaker 3: We kind of laughed it off. We were like, that
- 17:50Speaker 3: was cute. That was fun. Good. Great job.
- 17:52Speaker 2: Good tries.
- 17:53Speaker 4: Getting into the playoffs in a bad division. Well, it
- 17:55Speaker 4: turns out they might have been on to something. So
- 17:57Speaker 4: they're pretty good. Do you wish you still had that card?
- 18:00Speaker 3: I do. I do wish I still had the card.
- 18:02Speaker 3: I'm still holding out hope that I got it.
- 18:04Speaker 2: And Huck's lying to you?
- 18:05Speaker 4: I think I made a cash deal. Can't confirm that.
- 18:08Speaker 4: I should have taken a picture or wrote down a note.
- 18:10Speaker 4: But Bryce Young, playin'. The best football by far in
- 18:14Speaker 4: his career.
- 18:15Speaker 3: All right, top five, Trevor Lawrence. 120 of 184 on
- 18:20Speaker 3: the season.
- 18:21Speaker 4: 1,480 yards, 14 touchdowns, four interceptions, 106.2 QBR on the season.
- 18:27Speaker 4: Four and two, the Jacksonville Jaguars. Look, they are one
- 18:30Speaker 4: of the best teams in the NFL. I'm not going
- 18:32Speaker 4: to say top three best team in the NFL, but
- 18:35Speaker 4: they continue to get better.
- 18:37Speaker 3: They continue.
- 18:38Speaker 4: That arrow is pointing up for the Jaguars, and they're
- 18:41Speaker 4: just the team. That's well coached. They got a lot
- 18:44Speaker 4: of talent. And they are going to be a tough
- 18:48Speaker 4: out for anybody. Anybody's going to have a tough out
- 18:51Speaker 4: with these guys. So, why is he here? Jaguars loss,
- 18:56Speaker 4: but it's not because of him. Four touchdowns and 306
- 18:58Speaker 4: yards on the last game.
- 19:00Speaker 3: In a loss, in a losing effort.
- 19:02Speaker 2: Jaguars.
- 19:03Speaker 3: All right, number four.
- 19:05Speaker 2: Jared Goff. Yeah.
- 19:07Speaker 3: All right. Falls to number four, but I'm keeping him
- 19:09Speaker 3: in that top five.
- 19:10Speaker 4: He's just sitting there. I mean, it's just unsexy, but
- 19:13Speaker 4: he's just so good. He's got, let's see, he's got
- 19:18Speaker 4: 191 attempts without a pick right now.
- 19:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:21Speaker 3: Not bad.
- 19:22Speaker 4: Elite efficiency, no turnovers through the air. He's in a
- 19:29Speaker 4: bye week, so he slips. Didn't have an opportunity to
- 19:31Speaker 4: jump to number one.
- 19:32Speaker 2: Yeah, big game this week.
- 19:33Speaker 4: I mean, I'll tell you, these top three, they better
- 19:38Speaker 4: not half-step in any week because Jared Goff's coming for you.
- 19:41Speaker 2: It's a big week for Jared Goff. You know who
- 19:42Speaker 2: they got coming to town?
- 19:43Speaker 3: Nope.
- 19:44Speaker 2: Your team.
- 19:45Speaker 3: Packers. Yeah.
- 19:46Speaker 2: It's a big week.
- 19:47Speaker 3: It was a big week. Again.
- 19:49Speaker 2: Four and two versus three. and two in Detroit.
- 19:53Speaker 3: That is going to be a big game.
- 19:54Speaker 2: Packers defense playing good.
- 19:55Speaker 3: We get flexed?
- 19:56Speaker 2: 330 games. You got to assume, yeah.
- 19:58Speaker 3: Fox.
- 19:59Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 19:59Speaker 2: I think it's Fox the game of the week.
- 20:01Speaker 4: What's really impressive is 128 of 191, 1,485 yards, 12 touchdowns,
- 20:08Speaker 4: Zero interceptions.
- 20:10Speaker 3: That's right.
- 20:10Speaker 4: Zero interceptions. He takes care of the football. He reads
- 20:13Speaker 4: the defense. He is an absolute weapon. Let's go to
- 20:16Speaker 4: number three. Patrick Mahomes falling to number three. Why did
- 20:22Speaker 4: he fall? Well, didn't have any touchdown passes Sunday against
- 20:26Speaker 4: the winless Chargers.
- 20:28Speaker 3: Allen. Maybe Josh Allen's still on the sport. I don't know.
- 20:33Speaker 4: Maybe that was a bad tease by me. But he
- 20:36Speaker 4: got outplayed by a quarterback this past week. But, look,
- 20:40Speaker 4: they're a good team. The Chiefs are just– they just
- 20:43Speaker 4: do what they have to do to win games. Like,
- 20:45Speaker 4: when they're good, when they're at their best, they just
- 20:47Speaker 4: do what they– if Mahomes has to throw for five touchdowns,
- 20:49Speaker 4: he'll do it.
- 20:50Speaker 3: If he's got to throw for zero touchdowns, he'll do it.
- 20:52Speaker 4: They're not afraid. They don't have egos on that team.
- 20:55Speaker 4: The Chiefs are a force this year. I expect– are
- 20:59Speaker 4: we going to get one of them famous AFC championships
- 21:01Speaker 4: between Mahomes and the number.
- 21:03Speaker 3: Two person on this list, Joshua? God, that'd be awesome.
- 21:09Speaker 3: We all should hope and pray for that. That would
- 21:10Speaker 3: be so sick.
- 21:11Speaker 4: AFC Championship, Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, and Arrowhead. I'd like
- 21:16Speaker 4: it to be Arrowhead.
- 21:17Speaker 2: Really?
- 21:17Speaker 3: I don't know. What do you think?
- 21:19Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 21:20Speaker 3: Are you a Chiefs hater?
- 21:20Speaker 2: I don't really care either way.
- 21:22Speaker 4: There's a lot of Chiefs haters. And I get that
- 21:25Speaker 4: because dominance kind of stinks. But, oh, man, Patrick Mahomes.
- 21:28Speaker 3: Watching him play. Just enjoy watching him play. Why he plays.
- 21:32Speaker 2: Going to their training camp and seeing their process gave
- 21:35Speaker 2: me a newfound respect for them.
- 21:37Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 21:37Speaker 3: And you know they've had it.
- 21:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:39Speaker 4: He threw no touchdowns last, but he probably could have.
- 21:42Speaker 4: Probably could have. They just did what they had to
- 21:44Speaker 4: do to get a win. Josh Allen, he continues to
- 21:47Speaker 4: be Superman every single week. I know he's fluctuated on
- 21:51Speaker 4: my list because we know who Josh Allen is.
- 21:53Speaker 2: We know it.
- 21:54Speaker 4: He's not going to really change. My opinion of him
- 21:57Speaker 4: will never change, probably. I think he's one of the
- 21:59Speaker 4: best to ever do it. I think he's Superman. I
- 22:01Speaker 4: think he might be the best player.
- 22:02Speaker 3: In the NFL.
- 22:04Speaker 4: Where he falls in the list just depends on how
- 22:06Speaker 4: everybody else is playing, in my opinion, at that time.
- 22:09Speaker 4: But I could not ignore what he did this past week. Again,
- 22:13Speaker 4: putting Superman's cape on and willing a team.
- 22:17Speaker 2: Well, if he's number two on your list, you only
- 22:21Speaker 2: have one spot left on your list. It's got to
- 22:24Speaker 2: be J.J. McCarthy, who just got named the starter for
- 22:26Speaker 2: the Giants, right?
- 22:27Speaker 4: If he's not, he's got to be at least feeling frisky.
- 22:30Speaker 4: He did throw for a nearly NFL record in the
- 22:32Speaker 4: fourth quarter. Against the Saints.
- 22:34Speaker 2: Well, Justin Herbert, Cam Ward, and Malik Willis don't have
- 22:37Speaker 2: a total that high in a game yet this season.
- 22:40Speaker 2: But he threw in the fourth quarter.
- 22:41Speaker 3: The one quarter?
- 22:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:42Speaker 4: So he might throw for 1,000 this week.
- 22:44Speaker 2: Good.
- 22:45Speaker 3: If he plays the whole game, he'd average it out.
- 22:48Speaker 2: So he's number one?
- 22:48Speaker 4: Dumber thing's been said on the show. I think JJ's
- 22:50Speaker 4: going to throw for 1,000 this week.
- 22:53Speaker 3: Number one. JJ.
- 22:57Speaker 1: Ah.
- 22:57Speaker 2: Ah. Oh, man. Okay.
- 22:59Speaker 3: It must be a typo.
- 23:00Speaker 2: Must be.
- 23:01Speaker 3: Brock Purdy remains at the top of the list.
- 23:02Speaker 4: Why? Because he's the best quarterback. Playing the quarterback position
- 23:05Speaker 4: the best in the NFL right now. There's nobody playing better.
- 23:08Speaker 4: There's nobody commanding what they are trying to accomplish on
- 23:11Speaker 4: offense better than him. Nobody placing the ball in a
- 23:14Speaker 4: better spot than him. Nobody has got more confidence. There's
- 23:19Speaker 4: no team out there that's got more confidence in their quarterback.
- 23:22Speaker 3: Now, I get it.
- 23:22Speaker 4: There might be some that have as much confidence in
- 23:24Speaker 4: their quarterback. But they know that Brock Purdy is going
- 23:27Speaker 4: to do the right thing with the ball at the
- 23:28Speaker 4: right time. They know they're going to give him a friendly,
- 23:30Speaker 4: easy to catch ball. And he just looks like this quiet,
- 23:34Speaker 4: humble dude that everybody kind of rallies around. It's kind
- 23:37Speaker 4: of like the quarterback for Georgia. Gunner Stockton. His whole
- 23:43Speaker 4: team loves him. Doesn't say a whole heck of a lot.
- 23:46Speaker 4: And you're like, man, they just gravitate towards that man.
- 23:49Speaker 4: I think the same thing is with Brock Purdy. I
- 23:52Speaker 4: think people just gravitate towards him, but It's not everybody
- 23:55Speaker 4: else that's making him play good. It's not the system.
- 23:57Speaker 4: I know Shanahan is one of the best, but it
- 24:00Speaker 4: ain't just him. Brock Purdy playing his ass off.
- 24:03Speaker 2: How good is Kyle Shanahan?
- 24:05Speaker 3: Really good.
- 24:06Speaker 2: No matter who's out there, no matter what the cards
- 24:08Speaker 2: look like, the hand he's dealt.
- 24:10Speaker 4: Mack Jones started for a handful of games last year,
- 24:13Speaker 4: and he was playing better than anybody in the league.
- 24:16Speaker 6: They went 12-4 last year with all those injuries.
- 24:19Speaker 3: 12-4.
- 24:20Speaker 2: We were talking about this yesterday on my NFL show.
- 24:23Speaker 2: How many teams... would not flip their coach right now,
- 24:28Speaker 2: throw him to the curb for Kyle Shanahan?
- 24:30Speaker 3: It should be 31.
- 24:32Speaker 2: I think probably. I quickly said 27 teams wouldn't even
- 24:39Speaker 2: think about it.
- 24:40Speaker 3: Ben Johnson.
- 24:42Speaker 2: I said Ben Johnson, McVay, Andy Reid. And then I
- 24:47Speaker 2: was kind of like.
- 24:48Speaker 3: I mean, McDonald's a reigning.
- 24:50Speaker 2: That's what I said. He was a coach. And then
- 24:52Speaker 2: Sean Page. I didn't know how Denver feels about him.
- 24:57Speaker 2: It feels like he's got a lot of power there.
- 24:59Speaker 3: It does. It feels like he's got a lot of power.
- 25:02Speaker 3: I'm taking Shanahan.
- 25:04Speaker 2: I'm taking Shanahan over almost everybody but Andy Reid. I
- 25:10Speaker 2: might take him over everybody but Andy Reid.
- 25:12Speaker 3: I think Ben Johnson's good.
- 25:13Speaker 6: If I need somebody to win a game.
- 25:17Speaker 2: Ben Johnson's really good. Kyle Shanahan can do it with
- 25:20Speaker 2: duct tape and super glue.
- 25:21Speaker 4: Like, if I'm choosing between Shanahan and Ben Johnson, I'm
- 25:23Speaker 4: choosing Shanahan. But if I'm going to have to, like,
- 25:25Speaker 4: go through the steps of firing and all that stuff,
- 25:27Speaker 4: I'm probably just going to stick with it. Now, there's
- 25:30Speaker 4: a lot of– that is not disparaging towards everybody else.
- 25:33Speaker 2: No, that's just trying to highlight Kyle Shanahan.
- 25:35Speaker 3: I mean, he's really damn good.
- 25:37Speaker 4: So he's got Brock Brady, highest passer rating among full-time
- 25:40Speaker 4: starters at 118.1. Pretty solid. All right, let's go to
- 25:45Speaker 4: the superlatives. Kicked out of the top 10.
- 25:47Speaker 3: Lamar Jackson. Superlatives. Not a big deal. Matthew Stafford, you're
- 25:52Speaker 3: out of there, pal. I love you. I tried. I've
- 25:55Speaker 3: been trying. I've been out here just taking bullets for you.
- 25:58Speaker 5: Yeah, you really have.
- 25:59Speaker 2: Yeah, you have.
- 26:00Speaker 3: And I did it, but you're out, bud. You're out.
- 26:02Speaker 3: Prove me wrong.
- 26:03Speaker 4: I hope you do, and I'm pretty sure you will.
- 26:05Speaker 4: Feeling frisky. Hello, Jordan Love, Caleb Williams, Aaron Rodgers. Starting
- 26:11Speaker 4: to feel frisky. Look for J.J.
- 26:13Speaker 3: McCarthy next week.
- 26:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 26:15Speaker 3: Holy moly. And my friend, Flynn Credible, and performance of
- 26:18Speaker 3: the week, Mr. C.J. Straub.
- 26:20Speaker 4: Why? Because it's like a comeback player of the year
- 26:24Speaker 4: type deal. He was so bad, and now he's playing good.
- 26:28Speaker 4: I've never looked at CJ and been like, man, that
- 26:32Speaker 4: guy's got mental fortitude. That guy's mentally tough. I had
- 26:35Speaker 4: never said that once. I said he's got a baby brain,
- 26:38Speaker 4: and he's weak.
- 26:39Speaker 2: I mean, Chris Pratt would say there's only one better
- 26:41Speaker 2: comeback than what he's done this year.
- 26:42Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely. I get it.
- 26:44Speaker 2: Good.
- 26:45Speaker 4: But what he was able to do to put the bad,
- 26:48Speaker 4: to put everything aside and play, maybe it's lucky.
- 26:50Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 26:50Speaker 4: It doesn't seem to be. We've seen him do it before.
- 26:53Speaker 4: We just hadn't seen it in years. So I gave
- 26:54Speaker 4: him an incredible performance of the week. It wasn't the
- 26:57Speaker 4: best performance of.
- 26:58Speaker 3: The week, no.
- 26:59Speaker 4: But what he was able to do after where he's been,
- 27:03Speaker 4: they got to get rolling. And they got to get
- 27:05Speaker 4: rolling now. A lot of it's that defense has got
- 27:07Speaker 4: to pick it up. And I still think they're going
- 27:10Speaker 4: to end up being one of the best defenses in
- 27:12Speaker 4: the league.
- 27:13Speaker 3: They're going to need him to get to the Super Bowl.
- 27:15Speaker 7: So you don't have to– you can be ranked and
- 27:18Speaker 7: still be a superlative?
- 27:20Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah.
- 27:21Speaker 3: Okay. Look, I got sick.
- 27:23Speaker 2: Okay.
- 27:24Speaker 6: I mean, it's not like.
- 27:26Speaker 5: Your list ever had any parameters anyway.
- 27:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:29Speaker 5: But I was just curious.
- 27:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 27:31Speaker 3: It's like that game in Big Daddy. It's called I Win.
- 27:33Speaker 4: Yeah, it's fine.
- 27:34Speaker 3: It's rules.
- 27:34Speaker 4: I win.
- 27:35Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 27:35Speaker 3: I don't know. Just do what I want.
- 27:37Speaker 5: That's fine.
- 27:39Speaker 2: Just asking a question.
- 27:40Speaker 3: I kind of like that it's a good question because
- 27:42Speaker 3: I thought about it too.
- 27:43Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 27:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:44Speaker 3: No, I've got to make the rules up. No, I know.
- 27:46Speaker 3: It's kind of like when you're introducing somebody.
- 27:48Speaker 2: You know how you work.
- 27:49Speaker 3: Like when you teach somebody at your house the rules
- 27:52Speaker 3: of Boo Ray. Oh, yeah.
- 27:54Speaker 4: Every couple hours, there's a new rule that you introduce
- 27:57Speaker 4: because that situation didn't happen yet. You're like, well, yeah,
- 28:00Speaker 4: that's how we played at this house.
- 28:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 28:01Speaker 3: It's house rules.
- 28:02Speaker 5: I get that.
- 28:03Speaker 3: So this is a work in progress. We'll have it
- 28:05Speaker 3: ironed out by 2030.
- 28:07Speaker 6: Might be my favorite top 10 you've had. Really?
- 28:10Speaker 3: You get to choose one, two, and four teams.
- 28:13Speaker 2: To make a run, Texans or Rams?
- 28:18Speaker 3: Texans. Yeah.
- 28:19Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 28:20Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm taking the Texans.
- 28:21Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 28:22Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 28:23Speaker 7: I haven't watched a lot of the Rams, so I
- 28:25Speaker 7: guess I'll go off of what y'all are saying and.
- 28:27Speaker 2: Say the Texans.
- 28:28Speaker 3: There's something wrong with them.
- 28:29Speaker 6: Well, Devontae Adams is out.
- 28:30Speaker 3: I don't know what it is.
- 28:31Speaker 6: Looks like a pretty extended period of time. Garrett still hasn't.
- 28:36Speaker 6: We don't know what's going on there. Their special teams
- 28:39Speaker 6: is terrible. I think they were, what, 31st or 32nd
- 28:42Speaker 6: in the league in special teams. You can't win like that.
- 28:44Speaker 5: MVP curse.
- 28:45Speaker 2: Yeah, Texans need to go get a running back. Montgomery's out.
- 28:49Speaker 2: Woody Marks ain't going to be enough. Their offense line,
- 28:52Speaker 2: run blocking-wise, is not good. We had a guy call
- 28:55Speaker 2: in from Houston yesterday. He's like, well, they're not good
- 28:58Speaker 2: at run blocking. Why don't they just throw it all
- 29:00Speaker 2: the time? I was like, because you can't go Big
- 29:02Speaker 2: 12 air raid in the NFL. You can't do it.
- 29:05Speaker 2: You can have some stats. You're not going to win
- 29:07Speaker 2: games if you try to go air raid in the NFL.
- 29:09Speaker 2: They got to get better at running the football.
- 29:11Speaker 5: I mean, the Saints will tell you that.
- 29:13Speaker 3: Anybody have any additions or omissions on him?
- 29:17Speaker 6: My only thing is, man, I'd probably drop Stroud and
- 29:22Speaker 6: Burrow a spot and put Drake May at seven. Drake
- 29:24Speaker 6: May's playing damn good. Okay, you can look at the 11-7.
- 29:28Speaker 2: First three weeks, one touchdown. He didn't start out great
- 29:30Speaker 2: last week. He finished strong.
- 29:32Speaker 6: He finished strong, but like one touchdown, six picks through
- 29:35Speaker 6: the first three weeks. Ten and one the last three weeks.
- 29:39Speaker 2: I'm still trusting Joe Burrow over Kirk Cousins right now.
- 29:43Speaker 2: And C.J.
- 29:43Speaker 3: Stroud. Well, and also, I did this.
- 29:45Speaker 2: Sorry, then Drake.
- 29:46Speaker 6: I did this last week, and so I got to
- 29:48Speaker 6: stick to it. I don't like a guy rising off
- 29:50Speaker 6: of a bye week. Like, he shouldn't drop.
- 29:51Speaker 7: Which one?
- 29:52Speaker 3: Who was on the bye?
- 29:53Speaker 2: Burrow.
- 29:53Speaker 3: I wasn't going to throw C.J. in front of him.
- 29:56Speaker 3: I could have done. I could have put Drake in there.
- 30:00Speaker 3: I could have put him ahead of Joe.
- 30:03Speaker 6: And again, that's minor.
- 30:04Speaker 4: Of all the feeling frisky people, I know this guy
- 30:08Speaker 4: probably is going to be in here. Look out for
- 30:10Speaker 4: this guy. Look out for Jordan Love. The guy's playing
- 30:14Speaker 4: with nothing. Good receivers.
- 30:17Speaker 2: No run game. They're 32nd and rushing by 20 yards.
- 30:23Speaker 6: And I know, look, take your feelings out of it
- 30:25Speaker 6: and everything.
- 30:27Speaker 3: Josh Jacobs. He could be back this week, potentially.
- 30:31Speaker 2: No, he probably will be. They're offense line. Right.
- 30:33Speaker 6: I mean, how much is it going to make a difference?
- 30:34Speaker 6: But maybe it'll help a little.
- 30:35Speaker 2: It'll help a little, for sure. He's by far the
- 30:37Speaker 2: best back in that room. I would say, I kind
- 30:43Speaker 2: of mean.
- 30:44Speaker 4: CJ was a tough one. CJ was a, that was,
- 30:48Speaker 4: I put him up there because that's how I felt
- 30:50Speaker 4: when I wrote it.
- 30:51Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 30:51Speaker 3: I mean, I don't hate it. But then I was like,
- 30:52Speaker 3: I was arguing with myself.
- 30:53Speaker 2: Then, you know.
- 30:56Speaker 6: Drake's maybe been a little bit hotter, but C.J. 's
- 30:58Speaker 6: probably actually been more consistent. So, I mean, I think
- 31:00Speaker 6: you're splitting that. Tonight's going to be big.
- 31:01Speaker 2: You know somebody that I know why he's not on here,
- 31:05Speaker 2: and I completely understand it, but it's really not him.
- 31:08Speaker 2: It's more those around him. It's Dak Prescott.
- 31:10Speaker 3: Yeah, that's true. He just– it's something about his face
- 31:13Speaker 3: this year.
- 31:15Speaker 2: Yeah, he's got like C.D. Lamb just like falling down
- 31:18Speaker 2: when he's throwing. He's throwing an in-round. C.D. Lamb's just
- 31:22Speaker 2: falling down.
- 31:23Speaker 7: I have Jake Ferguson on one of my– Fantasy teams, like,
- 31:27Speaker 7: what is he doing?
- 31:29Speaker 4: He's not doing anything. It's something about Dak's body language.
- 31:33Speaker 6: I was about to say, he's got a little bit
- 31:35Speaker 6: of that Jay Coddler, right?
- 31:37Speaker 4: A baby poo face.
- 31:39Speaker 5: I mean, the dude's frustrated, I guess.
- 31:40Speaker 4: He's frustrated. I am knocking him on that, but I
- 31:45Speaker 4: understand it. It's probably real. It seems like the same
- 31:48Speaker 4: thing's happening to them every single year. He keeps playing
- 31:52Speaker 4: some of the best ball of his career. But because
- 31:55Speaker 4: of his baby poo face and bad.
- 31:56Speaker 3: Body language, he's out.
- 31:58Speaker 7: I thought he was going to have like a MVP
- 32:01Speaker 7: type season because, you know, like he just called off
- 32:04Speaker 7: the wedding. I was like, oh, it's revenge season for
- 32:07Speaker 7: Dak Prescott.
- 32:07Speaker 3: He probably wants it to be.
- 32:09Speaker 5: He wants it to be so bad, but nobody else
- 32:11Speaker 5: on his team does.
- 32:12Speaker 3: And CD did follow. CD's playing pretty good.
- 32:14Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 32:18Speaker 2: He's one week Superman, then next week Clark Kent.
- 32:21Speaker 4: Right.
- 32:21Speaker 6: Like, he was Clark Kent last week, and then, like,
- 32:23Speaker 6: two weeks ago, he had, like, what, 17 catches?
- 32:25Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 32:25Speaker 4: Yeah, I thought they were going to have a big one, too.
- 32:28Speaker 4: You got Pickett, who was like, when was he ever
- 32:31Speaker 4: content and happy with the– he, like, took that franchise tag.
- 32:34Speaker 2: I was like, yeah.
- 32:35Speaker 3: Absolutely. It's fine.
- 32:35Speaker 6: I'll be the number two.
- 32:36Speaker 3: Absolutely. I was like, okay, they got something there.
- 32:39Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 32:40Speaker 3: Players only meeting last week.
- 32:42Speaker 6: Oh, Quinn and Williams called that meeting, by the way.
- 32:45Speaker 3: Oh, defensive line. Mm-hmm.
- 32:47Speaker 2: Can't be a D lineman.

- 36:01Speaker 2: All right, so we were in the middle of the
- 36:02Speaker 2: flu game. MJ stayed for four quarters. Matt stayed for half.
- 36:12Speaker 2: We got those quarterback rankings, and he said, you know what, guys?
- 36:14Speaker 2: I'm going to have to Christian Bale on you.
- 36:18Speaker 6: He did his part, though.
- 36:20Speaker 3: He knocked them out.
- 36:24Speaker 2: If he plays golf today.
- 36:26Speaker 5: You know he's going to.
- 36:27Speaker 6: Yeah, he's 100% playing golf.
- 36:28Speaker 2: That's why he left. Then we have to call him out.
- 36:32Speaker 2: If you're sick and you can't be here for the Wolfpack,
- 36:34Speaker 2: you can't be out there on the links either.
- 36:37Speaker 6: I think he left for golf because he gave kind
- 36:39Speaker 6: of a sketchy answer earlier. I said, Matt, when's your
- 36:41Speaker 6: tee time? He's like, I'm not sure. I was like,
- 36:45Speaker 6: that seems important.
- 36:50Speaker 4: Hmm.
- 36:54Speaker 2: QB1 Energy. All right. Saints are in Paris getting ready
- 36:59Speaker 2: to take on the Steelers. And they've been there all
- 37:01Speaker 2: week because it makes all the sense in the world
- 37:03Speaker 2: because the Saints and their ties to the country. And
- 37:07Speaker 2: we talked about it. The Florida League and every NFL
- 37:10Speaker 2: team is assigned to different countries. And obviously France is
- 37:12Speaker 2: going to be assigned to the Saints. So they had
- 37:14Speaker 2: a lot of festivities there. And I do think for
- 37:17Speaker 2: me in that situation, I always am going to favor
- 37:20Speaker 2: the team that has been over there acclimated to the
- 37:22Speaker 2: time change. And I think that is a big advantage
- 37:25Speaker 2: for that team. These teams, and we saw it in
- 37:27Speaker 2: the opener, the team going to Australia at the last
- 37:30Speaker 2: minute looked like they flew to Australia in the last minute.
- 37:35Speaker 2: So a couple of things to point out for this game.
- 37:38Speaker 2: So five things, and we'll get to them over the
- 37:41Speaker 2: next two segments. And I'd love to hear from Alondra
- 37:44Speaker 2: and Tay-Tay here as well. But five things that I'm
- 37:46Speaker 2: looking forward to in this matchup that I think are
- 37:49Speaker 2: going to decide this matchup. The first thing, first bullet point,
- 37:54Speaker 2: Can the Saints turn one win into momentum? And I
- 37:58Speaker 2: feel like Lou Brown from Major League. Like, if we
- 38:01Speaker 2: win another one, that's called a winning streak. It has
- 38:04Speaker 2: been done before. Because that's what it feels like. It
- 38:07Speaker 2: feels like you've got to let everybody know that you
- 38:10Speaker 2: can't have a winning streak. You can't string a group
- 38:13Speaker 2: of games together and not just one. We know New
- 38:16Speaker 2: Orleans beat the Giants last week 34-27. They got hairy
- 38:19Speaker 2: at the end, but like I've said all week, I
- 38:21Speaker 2: do not care. You don't have the luxury right now
- 38:23Speaker 2: of caring about style points. So you're 2-4. Beating Pittsburgh
- 38:29Speaker 2: would send you into your bye week at 3-4 with
- 38:32Speaker 2: a chance to change the season's direction. All right? So
- 38:38Speaker 2: I'm going to be looking at was last week a
- 38:40Speaker 2: turning point or was it just a Band-Aid on a
- 38:42Speaker 2: bullet hole? I think it can be a turning point.
- 38:45Speaker 2: And if you get to your bye at three and four,
- 38:47Speaker 2: it's not where you want it to be. But it
- 38:50Speaker 2: can be a place where you can live, get better,
- 38:54Speaker 2: figure some things out. And remember, at the back end
- 38:57Speaker 2: of your season, your schedule, that's where all of your
- 39:00Speaker 2: division games are. So if you want to have a
- 39:04Speaker 2: place where you have it figured out for the Saints,
- 39:06Speaker 2: it'd be at the back end, not the front end.
- 39:09Speaker 2: I know Matt is not a huge fan of the
- 39:11Speaker 2: way they won last week. Matt's used to being on
- 39:14Speaker 2: really good teams. I don't think the Saints can afford
- 39:18Speaker 2: to care how they win, right? You had to win.
- 39:22Speaker 2: You've been bad. You lost three straight home games. Yeah.
- 39:30Speaker 7: And as someone who's kind of on the same boat
- 39:32Speaker 7: with Matt, a win is a win, but you won
- 39:35Speaker 7: so ugly that you have to win this next game
- 39:38Speaker 7: in order for me to feel any sort of way
- 39:41Speaker 7: about it. Because you also beat a team that didn't
- 39:43Speaker 7: have Jackson Dart, their starting quarterback. Cam Scadaboo wasn't in either.
- 39:48Speaker 7: And So I'm not– I'm glad the Saints won.
- 39:54Speaker 5: You needed it.
- 39:56Speaker 7: But I don't feel as positive about it as a
- 39:59Speaker 7: lot of other people do because you still have a
- 40:01Speaker 7: lot of very glaring issues on this entire team. And
- 40:06Speaker 7: I don't know, you're– I get it's technically a home
- 40:10Speaker 7: game for the Saints, but you're in Paris. The Steelers
- 40:14Speaker 7: are starting to look a little like they're gelling.
- 40:16Speaker 2: Four and two.
- 40:17Speaker 5: DK Metcalf. is a problem.
- 40:21Speaker 7: And I don't know, like I just, I don't feel
- 40:24Speaker 7: great about this game.
- 40:27Speaker 6: One thing I'm watching on each side of the ball
- 40:29Speaker 6: that I think is going to be critical to this.
- 40:32Speaker 6: One's your pass rush. Like it was actually Russell Jackson
- 40:35Speaker 6: put out these stats the other day and I found
- 40:37Speaker 6: it interesting. Chase Young and Carl Granderson are both top
- 40:40Speaker 6: 10 in the NFL and sacks.
- 40:41Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 40:42Speaker 6: They have nine and a half between the two of them.
- 40:44Speaker 6: Also the Steelers, both tackles, they've only allowed three sacks,
- 40:48Speaker 6: but they've given up double digit pressures. Can you get
- 40:50Speaker 6: after Aaron Rogers? Look, this is a pro Aaron Rogers show,
- 40:54Speaker 6: but let's call it like it is. He's 42, right?
- 40:56Speaker 6: He's not the most mobile quarterback in the world at
- 40:58Speaker 6: this stage in his career. Can you get after him
- 41:01Speaker 6: and help out that secondary? That's been suspect on the
- 41:04Speaker 6: flip side of things. You got to find a way
- 41:06Speaker 6: to run the football. Can you manufacture some sort of
- 41:08Speaker 6: running game? Like, A screen pass, short passing game is
- 41:12Speaker 6: kind of an extension of the running game. Flynn talked
- 41:14Speaker 6: about it the other day. Can Tyler shock? He's going
- 41:15Speaker 6: to have to use his legs a little bit more
- 41:17Speaker 6: to get something going. Because if you can't run the football,
- 41:19Speaker 6: you can't stop the run. You can't win games. And
- 41:22Speaker 6: Rico Dowdle looks like he's going to be back in
- 41:25Speaker 6: the fold, at least some sort for this team. So
- 41:27Speaker 6: they got two good running backs. Got to figure something
- 41:29Speaker 6: out running. You got to get after Aaron Rodgers.
- 41:32Speaker 2: You no doubt do. And a couple of other bullet
- 41:34Speaker 2: points I have. We'll kind of finish some of these up,
- 41:36Speaker 2: but I'll get to the second one. Protecting Tyler Shuck
- 41:38Speaker 2: has to drive the game plan. How aggressive can this
- 41:42Speaker 2: Saints team be while keeping their quarterback protected? What do
- 41:45Speaker 2: you mean protected? Well, we know the reports. He's playing
- 41:47Speaker 2: through a broken bone in his non-throwing hand. That is
- 41:51Speaker 2: something that taking snaps under center, handing the football off
- 41:55Speaker 2: to your left is going to be a factor in
- 41:57Speaker 2: this game. Now he's going to face against TJ Watt,
- 41:59Speaker 2: Cam Hayward, some really good pass rushers. So are they
- 42:02Speaker 2: going to emphasize quick throws? Are they going to have more,
- 42:05Speaker 2: you know, God, I hope not, seven-man protections to try
- 42:08Speaker 2: to take a hit off of him, avoid obvious passing
- 42:12Speaker 2: downs because to Taylor's point, they haven't been able to
- 42:14Speaker 2: do that. So even though it's his non-throwing hand, that
- 42:17Speaker 2: is something to pay attention to. Again, under center. That's
- 42:19Speaker 2: still like left over right, right over left does not matter.
- 42:23Speaker 2: You're going to feel that. And then obviously when you're
- 42:25Speaker 2: handing it off to your left, how heavy can you
- 42:27Speaker 2: do if play action? If you don't have strength in
- 42:30Speaker 2: that hand to be able to hold on to the football,
- 42:32Speaker 2: all of those are things to look out for. We'll
- 42:34Speaker 2: get to some more points about this game. I've got
- 42:37Speaker 2: a couple more bullet points I want to hit. We'll
- 42:39Speaker 2: do it when we come back on OTB.
- 42:41Speaker 1: Off the bench.
- 42:44Speaker 2: All right, go to getgordon.com. Gordon McCurdy and injury attorneys

- 43:54Speaker 1: Tigers turn talkers. This is Off the Bench.
- 43:57Speaker 6: All right, welcome back in.
- 44:00Speaker 2: Before we get back to the Steelers and the Saints,
- 44:04Speaker 2: we do have a little bit of an injury update, Alondra,
- 44:07Speaker 2: I believe.
- 44:08Speaker 7: Yeah, so Aaron Rodgers starting, obviously, 42 years old.
- 44:13Speaker 2: 42 years old. That's a year older than I am. Right.
- 44:15Speaker 7: Also a year older than his backup quarterback, Matt Flynn.
- 44:19Speaker 7: Matt Flynn's sideline with the sniffles.
- 44:21Speaker 2: Oh, man.
- 44:23Speaker 5: Shout out to Nacho Man.
- 44:24Speaker 2: You're telling me Aaron Rodgers at 42 years old is
- 44:28Speaker 2: traveling across the world to take on the New Orleans Saints,
- 44:31Speaker 2: and his backup today is out with the sniffles?
- 44:34Speaker 5: Left an hour and a half into the show, yeah.
- 44:36Speaker 6: I'm sure Matt took as many hits last week as
- 44:38Speaker 6: Aaron did. It's probably around the same, huh?
- 44:40Speaker 2: Wow.
- 44:41Speaker 5: Shout out Nacho Man in the chat for that.
- 44:44Speaker 2: Nacho, appreciate the injury update there, buddy. All right.
- 44:48Speaker 5: It's brutal. It's a tough look.
- 44:50Speaker 2: Tough look.
- 44:50Speaker 5: It really is.
- 44:51Speaker 2: Tough, tough look. for QB1 here on the show that
- 44:55Speaker 2: his 42-year-old guy is out there playing against the Saints.
- 44:59Speaker 2: If he golfs today, though.
- 45:01Speaker 6: He is golfing today.
- 45:02Speaker 5: He's going to golf today.
- 45:03Speaker 6: I don't think he has another golf sick day. How
- 45:05Speaker 6: many times has he canceled this damn thing?
- 45:07Speaker 2: If he's golfing today, he's suspended without pay, and we
- 45:10Speaker 2: get to split his pay.
- 45:11Speaker 7: Do you know how many times this golf tournament has
- 45:13Speaker 7: been used as an excuse for him not being able
- 45:16Speaker 7: to do something?
- 45:16Speaker 6: He's hoping it gets canceled so that he can use
- 45:18Speaker 6: it again.
- 45:18Speaker 2: At least seven. At least seven.
- 45:21Speaker 5: It keeps happening.
- 45:22Speaker 3: I know.
- 45:23Speaker 2: It was actually the quarterfinals of the tournament. 64-team tournament.
- 45:27Speaker 5: He changes the name of it every single time. He
- 45:32Speaker 5: loses the playoffs.
- 45:33Speaker 2: All right, if you see him out there at Baton
- 45:34Speaker 2: Rouge Country Club and you see him hitting a golf ball,
- 45:36Speaker 2: please report back.
- 45:37Speaker 5: Take a picture of it.
- 45:38Speaker 2: Take a picture.
- 45:39Speaker 5: We need evidence. Send it to our text line because I.
- 45:42Speaker 2: All right, so we will dive back into.
- 45:47Speaker 5: Not a foxhole.
- 45:47Speaker 2: Not a foxhole move. We'll dive into... Some more of
- 45:50Speaker 2: the matchup. We are going to have Chef answer your
- 45:53Speaker 2: munchie questions coming up in about 15, about 20 minutes
- 45:56Speaker 2: from now. So we still have all of that coming
- 45:59Speaker 2: your way. We'll take a look at LSU versus Auburn
- 46:02Speaker 2: as well there on the Plains. Again, we'll kind of
- 46:04Speaker 2: recap some of the things we talked about in our
- 46:06Speaker 2: number one, no trade as green on the injury report.
- 46:10Speaker 2: Is that something that's actually going to happen? Is that, hey,
- 46:15Speaker 2: we'll warm him up. Maybe he plays, maybe he doesn't.
- 46:17Speaker 2: We'll see. A little gamesmanship there. Something we have to
- 46:21Speaker 2: find out because, man, oh, man, is that going to
- 46:24Speaker 2: be a difference maker if he's able to go for
