A tragic end to a desperate search: experienced hillwalker Keith Gauld, 49, vanished from Peterculter on July 7 after last being heard from by family. His van was found at Drum Castle car park, sparking an extensive search. On July 12, his body was discovered in woods near Banchory — not far from where his van was found. Police say the death is not being treated as suspicious, and his family has been notified. Authorities now focus on supporting them through this devastating loss.
