Kenyan court convicts Paul Mackenzie and about 30 others of murder

A Kenyan court has convicted Paul Mackenzie, head of a starvation cult, along with approximately 30 others of murder over the deaths of 190 children and one adult. Prosecutors said Mackenzie and his Good News International Church organized an apocalyptic group that ordered followers to starve themselves and their children to death. Mackenzie denied the murder charges, saying he did not force the victims to starve, but the court rejected his argument. Justice Diana Kavedza Mochache said some children were kept apart and denied food while their parents watched.
