- 0:24Welcome into the Treehouse. I'm Daniel Malley along with Trey Trenholm, and because
- 0:30of a little uh casting shuffle, we are joined in the Treehouse today by
- 0:35actor, comedian and friend, longtime friend of the show and the Treehouse,
- 0:41Raj Charma. Hello, Raj, Hi, buddies, what's going on?
- 0:45Oh? You know, just three card monte with heads. Yeah, I
- 0:52see that. It is. It is. It's been too long, but
- 0:55it is uh great to see you and talk to you, Raj. Yeah.
- 1:00And um, are you guys both wearing the same color, by the
- 1:03way, or did we plan this out? It's the No, it wasn't
- 1:06a plan, but I guess Tray and I SYNCD up and it kind of
- 1:08works out because it actually is uh. Even though we don't do video on
- 1:12the show, we use it during the show to look and talk to one
- 1:17another. Maybe maybe one day we'll throw some video around. It looked like
- 1:19you guys sort of like a like a like a best Buy competitor and like
- 1:23this is the break. They're like, okay, let's get let's let's get
- 1:26a show out. Let's do this real quick before we gotta But instead of
- 1:30blue shirts, we're gonna go with purple, purple. But it actually is
- 1:36kind of fitting into our personalities because I'd say traditionally, Tray is a little
- 1:41more a little more proper and traditional. I'm a little more laid back.
- 1:45So I've got a T shirt that's purple and Trays purple. Oh that's a
- 1:49polo Oh of course, of course. But to Tray's credit, he's much
- 1:53more relaxed now. I think in what has happened is since he got out
- 1:59of the corporate world, and maybe it's also related to him being sober now
- 2:04for but six seven years, Trey, yeah, almost seven. Trey's uniform
- 2:08used to be button up shirt, jeans and his boots. Now Tray is
- 2:17so relaxed now that he doesn't drink or work in the corporate world anymore,
- 2:22which are probably somewhat related. Now he's polo U khaki shorts and some on
- 2:30running sneaks. Oh that's nice. Do you look like you could like you
- 2:35could from the waist up, you dress like you could be deposed? Uh,
- 2:42and then and then and then in your whole out it's like, hey,
- 2:45if golf breaks out, I'm ready to go. Sadly, this is
- 2:52a sad truth. It was last summer. So it's almost a year that
- 2:57I actually started wearing T shirts. Other than that, for twenty plus years,
- 3:01no one had ever seen me in anything but a college. So was
- 3:05it like so like okay, so when you would go home, like would
- 3:08you like close the blinds, like turn on some like really sexy music and
- 3:13throw a T shirt on and just like like like just stare at yourself like
- 3:15this is what this is the real meat, that exotic, it's a It's
- 3:22just it's a strange quirk I picked up from my dad. My dad out
- 3:27in public always had a collar shirt on and I and honestly, I just
- 3:31got tired during the summer it's so damn hot. I was like, I
- 3:35wanted to breatheable shirt. Finally, I was like, screw it, I'll
- 3:38just start wearing T shirts. I was like, these are comfy. So
- 3:40you've been so you've been seventy since you're a kid. I just need something
- 3:44breathable. And it's weird too, because I have now seen Trey at the
- 3:50three different stages of his fashion life. So stage one, back when he
- 3:55worked in real estate, was a really nice suit because a lot of the
- 4:00real estate that Trey did when he was in real estate in Dallas. Four
- 4:03Worth was pretty specific. It was high end real estate, and a lot
- 4:08of it was in you know, Highland Park, University Park. And you
- 4:11can't walk in there like looking like you just you know, rolled out of
- 4:15the Dart bus station. You've got to look the part. So Trey war
- 4:18suits, and even when he started in radio, he would do real estate
- 4:23some then he'd come to radio and he'd still be wearing a suit and tie.
- 4:26Then he stopped doing real estate, did radio only. That's when phase
- 4:30two of Trey's fashion life began. That was the button down shirt, the
- 4:33jeans, and the cowboy boots. Then he left radio, stopped drinking again,
- 4:39probably related and because he didn't need to anymore, and started working in
- 4:44the bar businesses like okay, well, you know, cowboy boots not the
- 4:46most comfortable service industry shoes. So now Trey's running a hugely successful not anymore
- 4:51because he quit. But then he started running a hugely successful Dallas night spot,
- 4:56and he went more relaxed. He went polo with he shorts and comfy
- 5:00running shoes. Yeah, the sad thing that really precipitated me not wearing boots
- 5:06anymore. It's just I've hit an age and for some reason, all of
- 5:11a sudden, my feet started killing me. I'm like, screw that is
- 5:14old. Are you old enough to know that Doctor Shouls doesn't do insults for
- 5:18cowboy boots? Yeah, it's like, I just need something breathable and art
- 5:23support. I'm like, good, my god, I tell you right now,
- 5:26this is how it happened. Travis probably scrolling through Instagram hoping to find
- 5:30the one ad that was a collaboration between Luke Casey and Doctor Sholes, but
- 5:34it never happened. I think we're onto a this is one perish. I'm
- 5:43gonna find them. I'm gonna find them, and I'm gonna have these shoes.
- 5:46I'm gonna have boots made for you with with art support and oddly breathable.
- 5:49I don't know, I'm gonna find a breathable like it'll be air wicking
- 5:54ostrich. I hear the EMU doesn't sweat. I don't know a truth about.
- 6:01One of the weirdest things is that, you know, in my mid
- 6:04forties, my feet grew a size and I think it was because my arch
- 6:09is kind of collapsed. And okay, easy berry bonds unless you were on
- 6:15a massive amount of the stairs, Like and my hat size, I have
- 6:19gone from a ten and a half to eleven to eleven and a half.
- 6:23Did you hear that? Ladies drend home coming on strong in middle age?
- 6:30You might want to go see a doctor about this. I think a doctor
- 6:34would want to see him about this. You know, it's weird. My
- 6:39hands and feet just keep growing, like you might want to see there might
- 6:43be a side effect from all the yeager you've no longer drink. Honestly,
- 6:48are you getting nutrients back in your body? That might actually be a part
- 6:53of it. Yeah. All of a sudden I showed looking down at my
- 6:55you know, shoes, and so glad sudden my big toe started rubbing through
- 7:01and sticking out, and I'm like, what the hell you like the Incredible
- 7:03Hulk like when he changes. Yeah, most people seem middle aged and getting
- 7:10over the hill as you know, going downhill or his trays like he's just
- 7:14coming into his own finally. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean,
- 7:16I don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of arts support, but I
- 7:21have a feeling like you you wait, like you wake up in the morning
- 7:25to yell at people about your lawn. That's what like, but you're ready
- 7:30to chase somebody down that threw something on your lawn, Like that's where the
- 7:32shoes come in. You have a breathable shirt because it's hot in the summer.
- 7:35I get it, buddy. I mean it's your fashion and whatever makes
- 7:40you, whatever makes you happy, and those are life goals. Like twenty
- 7:45years from now, then I want to sit on a porch and chase people
- 7:46off my lawn. Twenty years from now? Are you just dressing early for
- 7:50the part? I can't talk. I've got three chains on for no reason.
- 7:58I don't know. Yeah, I'm not sure why that is. I
- 8:01don't know if it's just I don't know why that is. What you just
- 8:05you just need the jewelry you need. You need to bling someone to be
- 8:07like are you worried about being lost in the dark. Yeah, well it's
- 8:13a superstition, so it's good luck charms. And but like Dan's always been
- 8:18like I think your wedding I think was the most dressed up I ever saw
- 8:22you. M yeah, that sounds by right. And outside of that,
- 8:26outside of that, like your T shirt collection must rival most people like I.
- 8:30If you if you ever want to, if you ever feel like you
- 8:33know, t shirting it there, Trey, talk to that guy right there.
- 8:37No, no, no, Raj is correct, Tray, I know
- 8:39the right brands. I know the right brands and softness and hug you in
- 8:43all the right places. He's not giving you like the low quality Gilden my
- 8:48friend. No, no, no, that's a Haynes with the tag less
- 8:52thing on the bat. That's what we're brushed cotton. That's a he's a
- 8:56brush cotton kind of guy. Uh poll tribelend. Oh okay, well now
- 9:03you're getting sexy. I didn't know what kind of show this was. Apparently
- 9:07it's about fashion all of a sudden ironic because the guy that just left would
- 9:13have loved the fashion discussion. Hi, Elfie should have stuck around the thing
- 9:24with Trey. I think what happened with your feet is maybe it was your
- 9:26boots or the wrong size, Like maybe you were your boots were too tight
- 9:31because you were wearing boots. There were ten and a half. You stopped
- 9:33wearing boots and then your feet got to relax to a normal size. Maybe
- 9:37that was it. Oh, but that could be it actually, because I
- 9:39mean that's a different fit, right, and depending on the width of your
- 9:41flight. For some people I know that. I like, i'd for Tony
- 9:45brothers that couldn't wear boots because they're too wide. Yeah, there's big guys,
- 9:50so they couldn't. So it could actually be that you were just hobbling
- 9:54yourself for like an ancient Chinese woman, except with col bindings binding your feet
- 10:01and that's that. But that's for a very specific, very specific look here
- 10:07in in Dallas and and Trey actually with with the boots that he wore.
- 10:11They were the tapered toe, so they were kind of sharp at the end,
- 10:16as opposed to like that squared off toe that got popular for a little
- 10:18while. Yeah, I had I still have the areas that are the square
- 10:22toes because they can't do that. Like that just looks painful. It's yeah,
- 10:30good. A good pair of boots are one of the most comfortable things
- 10:33you can wear. I just I've got to an age I just couldn't be
- 10:39on. You know, when you're on your feet twelve hours a day.
- 10:41I have you come to tiresome? Have you wound your pocket watch today?
- 10:46I don't know what is that? Like? I'm just waiting for you to
- 10:50spit into a spatoon at some point, like you know what a good pair
- 10:54of boots. Puh, I could dip in years ago? You were really,
- 11:00Oh, yeah, I quit. I have. Actually I quit dipping
- 11:03about six months before I quit drinking. And it was the harder of the
- 11:07two. Really, Yeah, because I haven't had a I haven't had a
- 11:11cigarette in a year. Good for you, that's awesome, congratulations. Yeah.
- 11:16The I got I got sick in July, and that's so that's where
- 11:18a lot of the so like the feather is that I have there, that's
- 11:22the yeah. So that's the the feather is the uh like, the spiritual
- 11:28like it's supposed to represent in Native American culture is the great one, the
- 11:31all knowing, and it's it's connection to us. Okay, that makes more
- 11:35sense because from what I remember, you didn't smoke American spirits. I did.
- 11:39That was what I smoked at the end, was it really? Okay?
- 11:43American spirit yellows man, That's what I was going with. And then
- 11:45I had the evil eye thing. And then I have the doorg of the
- 11:48Goddess the Protector because I got sick in July and uh I had to go.
- 11:52It was in the hospital, so technically, uh I was dead what
- 11:58yeah, Uh, technically, I mean I was still talking, but uh
- 12:01they couldn't like I broke the record for the lowest blood pH uh at that
- 12:07hospital or I'm probably ever I went to the hospital was on July third.
- 12:11I was going to Kaboomtown and uh getting things ready, getting you know,
- 12:16uh launch hairs and coolers filled, and had a hot dog and I had
- 12:22a bud light and I was like, man, that bud light's not sitting
- 12:26that hot dog. I'm not. It was just feeling nauseous. Did the
- 12:31bud light make you feel funny? Like not quite? You like maybe need
- 12:35to be somebody else I was. I was drinking with kid Rock and uh,
- 12:41we're getting as ak loaded and uh but no, I just wasn't feeling
- 12:46well and I was like, I think I'm gonna throw this up and it
- 12:50did and it was like all like it was a couple and a half of
- 12:52blood. Oh yeah, So I went to the paramedics take me to because
- 12:58I couldn't. I couldn't walk, Like within the hour, I couldn't,
- 13:01like couldn't didn't have any energy to walk. Is that because you were going
- 13:05you know, full fourth of July and you were wearing like Tray's cowboy boots
- 13:09and khaki shorts. I know boots and shorts. I was a hot bitch
- 13:13that day. Uh No went to the hospital and they're like, um,
- 13:18they was wild. They so things have changed. So things are changed now.
- 13:24So I get into the r and this, uh, this young man
- 13:26comes to the door. I'm forty seven now and this kid comes to the
- 13:30door and he looks nine, but he's got He's got the uniform on right,
- 13:35he's got and I can see I can see where it says MD at
- 13:39the end of his name. And he goes, swear, do you this
- 13:41is noble? Uh? He goes, so bro, I went, oh,
- 13:45we're gonna start this Ah no, no, no, no, no,
- 13:48no, he goes. He goes, I'm Jake, And I'm like,
- 13:50did you run my card? Did anybody my insurance car? Did anybody
- 13:54run this? And he's like uh. And he gets all the blood work
- 13:58and they're taking a lot of blood. And this is the weird part is
- 14:00in their chaos because there's so much happening. They were taking a lot of
- 14:03blood, but they weren't putting any back. So I started to hyperventilate.
- 14:09So in my room, Uh comes three very sweet short Filipino ladies. Do
- 14:13you need anything? Can I get you into them? I'm like, blood
- 14:16would be great, because like my blood, my blood pressures going through the
- 14:20roof, my heart rate is through the roof. And uh. They finally
- 14:24get me on some some stuff for nausea, and they gave me some anxiety.
- 14:28They thought I was having a panic attack, and I'm like, nope,
- 14:30just you're taking all of my blood. You're not. You're not You're
- 14:33not giving me any back, or even if you were having a panic attack,
- 14:37that was as a result of them taking all of your blood. And
- 14:39night gets I mean like it was like it was like tubes this long and
- 14:43like that. That's like the kind of stuff that they would they would draw
- 14:45blood out of a cow exactly, and they do like eight of them all
- 14:48at once, and I was like, and I mean I was poured it
- 14:52up like that. I had eight total uh ports um for IVS and stuff.
- 14:56But at one point, my girlfriends says, next Philipps like, I'm
- 15:01feeling a lot better. I still can't catch my breath, but I have
- 15:03a very serious question and you cannot lie to me. He goes, Okay,
- 15:07what's going on? I was like, you have to tell me the
- 15:09one hundred percent truth. And I was like yeah, and I just look
- 15:11over at the Filipino ladies and that point I go, you can see them
- 15:13too, right, because my fear was like that's who is coming to get
- 15:18me? And like my fear was like being taken to heaven by three angry
- 15:22Filipino ladies. Like does the whole time do you have your charger? Do
- 15:26you have your charger? They have it. I'm like, ah, yes,
- 15:31I have my charger. Please leave me alone. But then Jake comes
- 15:35back in and he you know the rolling stool with the no bat. Yes,
- 15:39he gets on it and he rolls up and he grabs me by.
- 15:43Well, hang on what he says he gets on it? Did he do
- 15:45it like I imagine a doctor of his age doing it, like with both
- 15:48feet on the stool like surfing in or did he actually butt on? He
- 15:54walked? It was seamless. He walked and as he walked he sat and
- 16:00roll Wait, don't don't get ahead of yourself. Their new balance. So
- 16:08uh, he grabs me by like mafia style, like grabs my hands and
- 16:14he goes bro and I go, hmm. He goes you are a hot
- 16:21mess, and I go all right, and he goes but it's nothing Jake
- 16:25can't fixed, and then used me, I swear to you, used me
- 16:29to push off and then spun in the stool and then walked out. And
- 16:33I was like, that is that's Jake. Everybody, I'm gonna I'm definitely
- 16:38going to die. Jake will kill me today. But yeah, we get
- 16:45up to I was in the ICU and uh, I had I've been taking
- 16:49some medication and some of it was over the counter, UH for acid reflux,
- 16:53and apparently do not take prilosec if you have acid reflux because it is
- 17:00very dangerous. If you look on the back of the thing, it says
- 17:03can mask the symptoms of a heart attack. But I was getting because I
- 17:08was taking it. I was also getting and also my diet was garbage and
- 17:11smoking and fast food and drinking and all of that stuff led to me like
- 17:18really really tiny ulcers about that big, but about one hundred of them.
- 17:21We're lining my stomach and it caused this thing called h pylori, which then
- 17:25turned into pancrea titus. But when they they walked in and again it's like
- 17:30vegas. So there's no clocks, so you don't know how long you've been
- 17:34there, and that way they can really run up your bill. I just
- 17:38got doubling down. Uh but uh, this this very sweet nurse came in
- 17:42and she looks at my girlfriend. She goes, okay, how's he doing?
- 17:45And she's like fine, Like okay, how are you? I was
- 17:49like, Hi, can tell me your name? I was like, yeah,
- 17:52gave her my name, David Bird social Security. So do you know
- 17:55where you are? It was like hospital because do you know which one?
- 17:59Presbyterian plane? She goes, okay, and how long have you been in
- 18:03a coma? And I just look at my girlfriend and go how long have
- 18:07we been here? And apparently the guy who was next to me was in
- 18:12a coma and intubated and his pH was was higher than mine, and so
- 18:19they couldn't imagine how I was still coherent. And so the name of my
- 18:25the new special that I'm working on for stand up is called not Compatible for
- 18:27Life because on my chart it said pH of six point nine or below not
- 18:34compatible for life, and your boy was a five. Oh man. Yeah,
- 18:41So they're like, we don't know how you're alive. And I was
- 18:44like, cool, let's get to fix in me. Let let's let the
- 18:48wonderment wear off and let's let the medicine start going. But at the end
- 18:51of it, they were like, you know you're you're if you're ready to
- 18:52go. And I didn't realize just being in bad for almost five days,
- 18:59I didn't realize how much weight I'd lost. I went in at one seventy
- 19:02four and I came out at one thirty four. Jesus j Yeah. So
- 19:07I I go to this big six foot eight uh black nurse came in and
- 19:12he's like, uh, you might want to get some might want to tell
- 19:15your girl to bring you some clothes. And I was like I'm good.
- 19:17He goes all right say it was like all right, and then I was
- 19:22like all right. He's like going to help you to the wheelchair. I
- 19:25was like, no, I got He goes okay, and I stand up
- 19:26and my pants fall off, and he goes, you want me to call
- 19:30her. I was like, yeah, that'd be it would be good,
- 19:33and I just kind of helped, like he pulled up my pants and just
- 19:37kind of held onto him. He's like, try to tell you. I
- 19:38was like, yeah, you did. He's like, you need some help
- 19:41to the wheelchair and I go nope. I took two steps and I looked
- 19:44at him and goes, I got you basically picked me up and put me
- 19:48in the wheelchairs, like uh anything else. I was like, I think
- 19:52I can make my way to the to the car, and he goes,
- 19:53really, you're right, You're right, You're good. So I was sweatpants
- 20:00for for two and a half weeks. But now, so I say,
- 20:04quit drinking for seven eight months. I had to go do a low fat,
- 20:10low sugar diet, no smoking, um, and I just kind of
- 20:14kept it up. I mean, I put the I put weight back on,
- 20:18so I'm back at the one seventy one mark, but in the gym
- 20:22and uh and and doing all the all the stuff. But I told the
- 20:26doctors what do I need to do to never see you again? It's like,
- 20:30can you quit drinking for the next three months? So I was like,
- 20:32you got it? He goes, can you quit smoking forever? And
- 20:33I was like yes, And I'm like in my head, I'm like,
- 20:36Okay, that's kind of a tough one. But eight nurse walks in and
- 20:40goes, really you know you're gonna quit. I'm like you, I'll do
- 20:44anything you tell me to do Sir picked me up, but no, I
- 20:48was so that I know that he said he quit dipping, and that's that
- 20:51was harder than so. I don't know what was in the i VS.
- 20:55But like I had no like issue, like like with the drinking, though
- 20:57I didn't want to smoke. The only thing that changed was sweets, like
- 21:03I and everybody's like, well, it's because you quite drinking. I'm like
- 21:07in the hospital, I was like, can I before, like just when
- 21:11I got in, I'm like, can I just have something sweet? And
- 21:12I don't know if it was whatever was in the i VS or whatever it
- 21:17was. Uh yeah, listen, first first day, everyone warned me,
- 21:23and I never I never liked sweets. First day and everyone it said,
- 21:27you know you're gonna just crave sweets. I'm like, no, there's no
- 21:32way. First day I quit drinking, I would have gutted somebody for a
- 21:36snickerdoodle. Uh yeah, that'll see that. I've had friends that that quit
- 21:40drinking there like that, but be careful. I'm like, okay, Like
- 21:42the only thing like I still liked like Dan and I will have the affinity
- 21:48for peanut butter, Like I still like peanut butter and I like chocolate,
- 21:51but I was never My thing was sweet, like a sweet So like,
- 21:56uh, I did sprite zero with a little a little great what is the
- 22:02stuff that you can pour in water, A little squeezeable stuff you know what
- 22:04I mean that it's like a hot to flavor your water. Yeah, the
- 22:08MEO stuff. Yeah that, so I would do that in like a sprite
- 22:12zero. Like to me, that was like, oh, this is greater
- 22:15than anything ever to have existed on this planet. Like that's kind of what
- 22:18I wanted. I don't know because based on the description, I'm going to
- 22:22try one to trace Nick or Doodles if he's willing to, you know.
- 22:25Yeah. But then but then it was like then somebody was like, hey,
- 22:26do you want to scoop ice cream with that? I'm like yeah,
- 22:29I'm not a big ice cream guy, but sure, And then how it
- 22:30took a bite. I'm like, I'm an ice cream guy. Like do
- 22:34you want to brownie with that? I'm like, of course I do.
- 22:37And then that was like I'm like okay, but like the weird thing is
- 22:41like drinking and the gym and the work like that stuff was like I haven't
- 22:45had a cigarette since but that was never like it never even crossed my mind
- 22:51that I had quit smoking. It was like months later I was like,
- 22:53oh, yeah, I haven't had one of those. So when you were
- 22:56talking about like it being hard, like I don't know what, Like,
- 22:59just find out what they were giving me, and for anybody that's having a
- 23:02hard time quitting smunk, whatever they were giving me outside of some weird lady
- 23:06trying to get me all ghacked out on fent and all, I'm like,
- 23:10just don't just find out what it is in that IV because it was like
- 23:15everybody says, that's the hardest thing to do, and I was like,
- 23:17yeah, just it smells good sometimes, but that's about it. But I
- 23:22the dipping thing, I don't I know guys that still like we'll quit drinking.
- 23:27I've quit drinking a dozen years. They still Openhagen still got to get
- 23:32that that fix. So good on you for doing that. But now you
- 23:37but now you got the vape. Yeah. Visit us online at Treehouse on
- 23:49Air dot com. Time not a welcome in our friend and sponsor Rodney Anderson
- 24:04here into the Treehouse his phone number nine seven fifty two hundred. Website Rodney
- 24:11Anderson dot com so let's start with this today, Rodney. We talk a
- 24:15lot and have over the years about how important the preapproval process is for someone
- 24:18getting into the home market. But what are let's say, what are five
- 24:22major reasons people need to get pre approved right now? Well, Number one,
- 24:26you have a clear understanding of what your budget is. Preapprovals is the
- 24:32preapproval process DAN can provide a clear picture of what's your payment look like,
- 24:37how much money am I going to need? And does this home fit into
- 24:41my budget? Number two, it gives you increased negotiating power when you're preapproved
- 24:45and you've got and you're competing against other offers. Realtors want pre approval letters.
- 24:52They're even calling us day in and day out asking how strong is your
- 24:56customer, how strong is the preapproval letter? And so we see that as
- 25:00well. Number three streamline homebuying process, meaning preapproval streamlines the homebuying process by
- 25:07reducing the time between binding your dream home and closing on your dream home.
- 25:11Number four, identify. It gives you identification of potential issues, meaning is
- 25:18your credit and good inline or do you need to pay off a debt?
- 25:22Do you have a medical bill, something that's hurting your credit. And last
- 25:26and fifth, confidence and peace of mind. Preapproval. You know, you
- 25:30know who we are as a lender. You know that you have the negotiation
- 25:33power and you're able to go out and find a home and close in as
- 25:37a little as ten to fifteen days. So it gives you just a purchasing
- 25:40power and it gives you peace of mind. Yeah, and I can actually
- 25:42speak to this from both ends of that spectrum. One, as a homeowner
- 25:47trying to sell a property, I didn't entertain anyone really looking at their property,
- 25:52let alone entertaining any serious offers unless they were actually preapproved and gone through
- 25:56the entire process. And then as a buyer, I knew I had a
- 26:00leg up on other potential buyers because you had already prep preapproved me through the
- 26:06entire thing. So from whether you're selling a property or you're looking to buy
- 26:10one, the preapproval process is absolutely major. So give Rodney and his team

- 27:10here along with Terrey Trenholm, used to be on the radio, used to
- 27:15be a funny radio show now occasionally funny podcast along with our actor friend comedian
- 27:21Raj Sharma, who we just learned thankfully did not die last year. Well
- 27:26what if I was? And you're having a podcast. It's like the weirdest
- 27:27podcast ever. All the people that are watching, like, who are they
- 27:30talking to? He's an angel? Very very m Night Shamalani. It really
- 27:37is, except I hope this is not. I hope this is not the
- 27:40m Night Shamalan movie where you call it the happening where nothing actually happens.
- 27:45Yeah, he's the guy's brilliant. I mean he's really good at going,
- 27:48Hey, look at the remember that one movie I made? Yeah, what's
- 27:52by this one? Yeah? Yeah, by this one? What happens?
- 27:56Nothing? Thanks? And then he run he runs away from half a decade.
- 28:00They're like they forget about him. And then he sells you The Lady
- 28:02in the Water. You're like, what didn't we just buy? Like it's
- 28:06he sold Lady in the Water. He sold the script to Sony for sixty
- 28:08million dollars. Jesus, the script, Oh my god, the script and
- 28:15the producing writes and yeah, the whole package. Okay, yeah, like
- 28:18sixty million dollars. I'm like, well done, good for him, Good
- 28:22for him, good job. I'm all about someone getting their bag when when
- 28:26they can. Yeah. My whole thing is is I like people to have
- 28:32earned what they've what they've attained. You know, I was supposed to would
- 28:34yeah like nah, here you go. You know, you kind of suck,
- 28:37but we're gonna give you a bunch of but that. But that's the
- 28:38thing about Hollywood, Like if you stick around long enough, they're like,
- 28:41oh, you're still here. Here's money. They'll just at some point like
- 28:45they do that, They're like, here's just makes something and then if they
- 28:49if it's good, they'll the other networks and other studios will will buy that
- 28:53idea. There was something I'm trying to remember the name of the actor.
- 28:57It's on the tip of my tongue. I look it up real quick,
- 29:00so bear with me. Is it Chris Cooper? Yeah, it is.
- 29:04It's Chris Cooper. So this, I think, is what you're talking about.
- 29:07Roger is a good example of this. Chris Cooper's super generic name,
- 29:11right, and you probably don't know who he is based on his name,
- 29:15but he's now sort of this high end character actor in Hollywood. But he's
- 29:22been in Hollywood forever. He's been in tons of stuff. I guess.
- 29:27One of the first times I really recognized huh. So you just looked him
- 29:33up, didn't you, tree h So when I first really started noticing him
- 29:37setting outside of a random role was when he was in The Born, one
- 29:41of the Born movies, the first Born movie, I think, and he
- 29:45was sort of the bad guy. He was supposed to be Jason Bourne's handler.
- 29:48He was it was the Bourne identity, and he was the bad guy
- 29:51in that. Ever since then, he's been in all these amazing roles.
- 29:55He was in American Beauties and Sea Biscuits, all these Yeah, yeah you
- 30:00see him. You like, I've had that guy. But for like twenty
- 30:02years he was just there. And now all of a sudden, because he's
- 30:06been around for so long, everyone's like, oh, let's get that role.
- 30:10That's got to be Chris Cooper because he's fantastic. Well you didn't think
- 30:12it's fantastic thirty years ago. But also like it is that thing where you're
- 30:18like, he's been there long enough, he knows like he knows people that
- 30:22are that have moved up the ranks. So it is like the but like
- 30:26when people are like, Hollywood is not a meritocracy. Correct, Uh,
- 30:30it's when people go, hey, that's my buddy. He's been around forever
- 30:33and I'm here now let me let me, let me give him this part.
- 30:37Yeah, this is this is for him because you know, we stuck
- 30:40around long enough, or we did this, or we did ad like like
- 30:42a wild because you'll Jason Priestley for the longest time. This is a great
- 30:48story. But he was the he had two roommates and he was the working
- 30:51actor. He was the It was a guy that the one roommate had a
- 30:55car, and that guy would be the one that Jason would be like,
- 30:57hey, listen, I'll introduce you to the casting directors or the producers,
- 31:02but you have to drive me to the audition, and that roommates like,
- 31:04cool man. I just appreciate all the help and thank you so much.
- 31:07And they went to casting went to an audition for him, and he brought
- 31:11this guy along because again that guy had the car. Jason does not get
- 31:17the part. This guy does. And now you know, Brad Pitt.
- 31:22It's amazing how that stuff works. It is amazing. Also like with the
- 31:26like with the Chris Cooper guy, he's an older guy and the age thing
- 31:30got me thinking, when you're old enough, you start sticking around long enough,
- 31:33you have a history built up, you know people, you know certain
- 31:36things, you can relate to certain things. And it actually, strangely enough,
- 31:40this reminded me of something Trey posted recently on Trey was on your Instagram
- 31:45story, so I don't know if it's still up. It was this lady
- 31:48talking about being Oh I think I remember now. It was how gen x
- 31:56with those because I think all of us are gen X right, we were
- 32:00put We were really as a generation put through the ringer as far as various
- 32:04things, especially things that weren't necessarily dangerous for us, but we still had
- 32:10to go through it. Like and this is one of the things Trade posted,
- 32:15was this lady talking about this sort of unfounded fear instilled in us as
- 32:19children about scoliosis, because all three of ushre of an aged where at one
- 32:27point in elementary school, it was they did the test when you have to
- 32:30go into the nurse and you lined up outside the nurse's office your entire class,
- 32:35and you you walk and then one at a time you go in.
- 32:38You pull up your shirt or take it off, and then you bend over,
- 32:44which just that description right there would get you on like a cancel list
- 32:52immediately just right then. Yeah, but then the nurse would then touch you,
- 32:58but they were looking to see if you had scoliosis, and most of
- 33:00us really didn't understand what it was. And then they try to tell you,
- 33:04oh, it's a curvature of the spine, and I'm like, why
- 33:07am I bending over? And why do you have to do your finger?
- 33:08It's like you would think as soon as you Honestly, you would think if
- 33:13you have scoliosis, it's pretty obvious when you walk into the nurse's office,
- 33:15if you're already been over or or you look like a question mark. I
- 33:22had completely thank you so much for doing that, tray. I completely forgot
- 33:27about that we had to do that. That's can. I never knew anybody
- 33:30with scoliosis, have you? Yeah, I do know a couple of people
- 33:35that have the spine curvature, but that's so with chiropractic and with traction,
- 33:38Like there's a whole million there's a million things inversion chairs and all that stuff
- 33:43that you can fix that curvature of your spine. But I forgot about that
- 33:46test. That's hilarious because that doesn't even sound legal, Like no today,
- 33:53Like there's no way that's a test Nowadays, you're gonna have to not only
- 33:57send a permission slip home to be signed, but the teacher, I'm sorry,
- 34:00your parent may also have to be present and bring an attorney. Yeah.
- 34:05I two questions in my head, like what day of nursing school is
- 34:10that They're like, all right, and now we teach about scolios. Everybody
- 34:15index fingers up, let's get you got to get your vertebrate tracers warmed up.
- 34:22Did you feel anything weird? Kick that kid out, he's a weird
- 34:27one, just mart. Was there a gap in the bumps like that was?
- 34:35It's like that was the that was the test? Like that was you
- 34:38need to go see something, You need to see a specialist. What did
- 34:40you do that? And the weird thing is, Roj you mentioned this and
- 34:46going to a chiropractor. I've gone to chiropractors for years, worked in an
- 34:50office, you know, before I started in radio, and they've all been
- 34:52pretty consistent in saying, pretty much, everybody's got some degree of curvature or
- 34:58the spine. It's just a matter of what degree. That doesn't necessarily mean
- 35:00everybody has scoliosis, but you kind of do. It's just a matter of
- 35:06how severe is it and does it actually need you know, aggressive treatment?
- 35:10How bad of was there? Like my now that I'm thinking about it,
- 35:15because that's the comic, I had forgotten about that test, so thank you.
- 35:17Now I'm I'm also thinking about like the bomb drills, all that stuff,
- 35:22but bomb drills, tornado drills. I mean, now there's school shooting
- 35:27drills on top of it. It's almost like there's so many drills, how
- 35:29do they have any time to be indoctrinated by one of My thing is like
- 35:35what, like what was there an outbreak at some point of the scoliosis?
- 35:42Like was there a lot of just scoliosis people walking around? They're like we
- 35:45gotta we gotta test or they're gonna be everywhere like this fear Like like,
- 35:51well, yeah, I'm just trying to think, like what's the fear of
- 35:53that? Like you know your kid could be next? Like I tea.
- 35:59I remember, and I had a doctor I was in college tell me I
- 36:01had scoliosis and I was highly offended. I'm like I was checked for that
- 36:05every year. And that's the problem with the scoliosis. They never really told
- 36:09you in depth what it was, so we didn't really know. We're just
- 36:14trusting this adult to put their hands on our bare body and like, okay,
- 36:16well to test. Yeah. I think they just had to have something
- 36:20for that school nurse to do, like at some point like hey man,
- 36:23nobody knows what you really do here because it's like it was always the solution.
- 36:28I remember there's like a couple of times I went in I was like
- 36:30I'm not feeling take a nap. I'm like, all right that I don't
- 36:35know if you have. Is there anything in the first aid kit except for
- 36:37like a blow up pillow, like I don't know what, like like a
- 36:42blankie and a pillow like that in your first aid kid, because that's all
- 36:45she ever told us to do is take a nap. In addition to that
- 36:47first Aid kid having the blankie and the pillow, there was also a card
- 36:52with very specific instructions on how to administer an immediate scoliosis test because maybe the
- 36:59source of you're not feeling well was your curvature of the spine. But you're
- 37:04right. When when Trey It boasted this, it got my wheels turning.
- 37:07It's just like yeah, like I had forgotten about that too. It was
- 37:09it was something that we just did all the time. You did it every
- 37:14year. I think it was at the beginning of the school year. It
- 37:16was like, okay, you get your class schedule and then and you find
- 37:20your classes, you meet your teachers, and then you go to the nurse
- 37:22you get your scoliosis test. Um. But it also go ahead Russian.
- 37:28Did anybody question when it stopped? Like like they don't do that anymore?
- 37:32So like yeah, I don't think they do it anymore. Yeah, how
- 37:36did that? Like? How did that? That's what I was like,
- 37:37how did that? What meeting is that? I was like, Oh,
- 37:39what about scoliosis? I've been I've been running my finger up and down backs
- 37:44for thirty five years, haven't found one. Like, I think we're good.
- 37:49We can stop with this test now. It's just getting Now I'm just
- 37:52a creepy dude in a in a cubby that just goes, thank you for
- 37:54coming back, thank you for going like that's that's all you're doing at that
- 37:59point. That also reminds me I come across this someone had posted the other
- 38:04day. Uh if if you if you did any of these things growing up,
- 38:09then you're old and and and it's not some of these things. It's
- 38:15any one of these things, right, And I'm curious. I'm curious to
- 38:20see if you check off as many as I did using a pencil to rewind
- 38:25a cassette tape. Oh yeah, yeah, Trey, I'm sure you've done
- 38:29that. Oh yeah. Hearing someone yell, get off the internet. I
- 38:32need to use the phone. Yeah. Now this is this is a much
- 38:38older one. Cars that needed two different keys, one to unlock the door
- 38:43and a different key that actually started the engine. Yeah, and the one
- 38:46that unlocked the door also unlocked the glove box. Yes, typically the door
- 38:52key was round and the ignition key. Yeah. When everyone's favorite treat was
- 38:59push up ops, but that's basically yeah, I was thinking about that day.
- 39:01A push up pop is basically just ice cream that you're eating out of
- 39:05a toilet paper roll. Yes, yeah, I was actually because uh,
- 39:09somebody I posted the thing about it's called on my Uh it's another joke that's
- 39:15gone viral on on my Instagram or the graham Is the kids call it,
- 39:20uh is I call it a chicken curry incident. It happened to me one
- 39:23husand the third grade. My mom, I would take my lunch or I
- 39:28would get lunch at school, but depending on what the lunch was that day,
- 39:30because we growing up didn't eat beef in the household. Uh, And
- 39:35so if there was like burgers that day, my mom would send me with
- 39:37lunch. And it was usually peanut butter and jelly, maybe a banana,
- 39:40some grapes or you know, apple slices or whatever in this day, normal
- 39:45stuff that that kids and mysquit would eat until this day and then Uh,
- 39:50I grabbed. I had had a dukes. I had to remember the metal
- 39:52lunch boxes that were themed, So I had had dukes of Hazard and uh,
- 39:59did you have with the General Lee on the front and then the Duke
- 40:02brothers and Daisy and then Boss Hog on the inside and the thermis that came
- 40:06with it? Yeah, yeah, I have to have themis yeah. So
- 40:08I grab it, didn't even checked it, didn't even ask my mom what's
- 40:13in it, just automatic, I know there's gonna be a sandwich. I
- 40:15get to lunch and I opened it up and there's white long grain Boss munthey
- 40:21rice and I was like, oh my god, what's in the thermish?
- 40:25And I cracked the thermis halfway open, and everybody in that cafeteria got angry
- 40:30because my mom thought that day was the perfect day for chicken curry and rice.
- 40:35Uh. But somebody was like, you know, I don't get to
- 40:39I didn't get to trade lunches. I'm like neither did. I Like,
- 40:44like, you know, everybody else had snack cakes and I was like yes,
- 40:46like twinkies pop like that came up on my feet. Somebody's like,
- 40:50remember trading for twinkies. I was like, no, because my mother was
- 40:53a nurse, so that she was trying to be as healthy as possible.
- 40:58So if it was a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, it was definitely coming
- 41:01with like two fruits and like some sort of vets. It would be broccoli,
- 41:06and then there would be either an orange or banana or grapes and some
- 41:08some form of There was nothing like there was nobody that I'm trading a little
- 41:14Debbie Star crunch that popped up on the feed too. Yeah. Yeah,
- 41:17because if if you and Trey were in the same elementary school, there's no
- 41:22way he was going to give up his snack back for your chicken curry.
- 41:25Yeah, exactly right. So, and so somebody was like, but did
- 41:29you get the quarter for milk? And I'm like, how was it?
- 41:32How was it? In third grade the milk was a quarter, And then
- 41:36in ninth grade it was too, like where was the inflation? The price
- 41:39of milk never went up? It turns out it was even back then.
- 41:43It was all about greed all along from the milk industry. Yeah, but
- 41:46then somebody's like, well, somebody was like, well I would drink from
- 41:50the water fountain, uh, and then use that quarter to get the push
- 41:53up pop and I was like, oh my god, it's the orange the
- 41:58little push up pop. Yeah, we had my elementary school, I will
- 42:01say this for Mesquite name brand still had the actual push up not the not
- 42:07the clear toilet paper roll but the plain white one. But this one had
- 42:09to light the polka dots on it and said push up pop on the side.
- 42:13And did you get the ever get the one that you push and it's
- 42:15kind of slides over and it's just for the whole day. No, I
- 42:19guess I didn't get the name brand one. Instead, I got like whatever,
- 42:22the Kirkland brand toilet paper roll version. Yeah, we had. We
- 42:25had the actual and then sometimes you'd push up on it and it just it
- 42:29would just go wonky and there was no there's no refunds. Back then you
- 42:32figured out how to you just unravel the toilet paper roll. It is kind
- 42:36of eight what was there. But yeah, that's the push up pop,
- 42:39Twinkies and star crunches, the other things that if you've done any one of
- 42:44these, let alone multiples, you're old printing out your directions for a map
- 42:47quest. Yeah, I think we're all old enough to know even before that,
- 42:52where like my grandmother actually had the old spiral map thing that she kept
- 42:57in the back of the car. It was called a map Scoll mapsco exactly.
- 43:00She had that. I remember doing that, having a notebook where he
- 43:04kept track of all your friends phone numbers. If you watched a movie,
- 43:07you had to switch to channel three. That was back before TVs had different
- 43:10input options. If you ever accidentally burned yourself with a cigarette with a car
- 43:15cigarette lighter, oh yeah, finding out which movies were at the local theater
- 43:22by checking the newspaper, or if you called movie phone. Uh, that
- 43:25guy I feel so bad for because he was he was he was he was
- 43:30the man like that guy just I mean for however long that was. He
- 43:35had his window, just his job security and the amount of was like hi
- 43:38and welcome to movie phone. That Yeah, wasn't that Shadow Stevens. No,
- 43:45that was not. You would think so he was too busy with the
- 43:47Hollywood Squares. But I'm pretty sure they had a pretty intense rivalry though.
- 43:53Yeah. Fine, I just like his career in Double Craps, his lost
- 43:57movie phone in Hollywood Square, Jim J. Bullock had a better career than
- 44:04Oh God, and if you get that reference you're old. You are listening
- 44:14to the tree visit us online that Treehouse OnAir dot com. Here now with
- 44:28Daniel Cook from Cook DFW Roofing and Restoration. The phone number eight three three
- 44:31Cook DFW, the website Cook dfw dot com. Let's be very frank here,
- 44:37Daniel. It's very likely you have a roof. It's probably damaged,
- 44:40whether you know it or not. Yeah, Dan, we see this so
- 44:44often when people go to sell their home. The buyer goes and sends an
- 44:46inspector out and low, behold, you got haill damage all over your roof
- 44:51and your roof is going to need to be replaced before you sell your home.
- 44:52They're looking for problems that they can see, and that's what everybody is
- 44:55accustomed to. I want to see a visually. I want to see a
- 44:58water coming inside my house. House well, I want to see shingles land
- 45:01in my yard. You know, hell doesn't show from the ground majority of

- 46:01The phone number is two one four three six eight thirty eight thirty eight.
- 46:07The website Brooks Plumbing Texas dot com. So, Jacqueline, let's start
- 46:10with this. At one point I was entertaining the notion at a previous home
- 46:15of installing a tankless water heater. And I'm curious to know what you and
- 46:20Brooks Plumbing thinks about the tankless water heater, good or bad? Why or
- 46:24why not? Every house is different, And that's the short answer. The
- 46:28long answer is is it something that you really need? I always ask people
- 46:32how many people in the house? Are you guys running out of hot water?
- 46:35Now, if you are running out of hot water just because of the
- 46:38sheer capacity that your family uses, maybe that's the right ticket for you.
- 46:43If you're not running out of hot water, it's just time to replace the
- 46:46heater. It might not necessarily be the best financial move. There's a lot
- 46:51of companies that don't tell you out of the gate that a tankless water heater
- 46:53is indeed significantly more expensive, depending on where you get it, sometimes two
- 46:58to four, sometimes even five or six times more expensive than just a traditional
- 47:01tank heater, depending on who's selling it to you. Now that being said,
- 47:06our preference for tankless heaters is always gas. I think there's a little
- 47:10bit of room of improvement in the manufacturing department for electric tankless heaters. But
- 47:16every house is different, and I just think that if if you don't have
- 47:22to spend the money. Maybe don't do it, especially considering a lot of
- 47:25people don't tell you that you have to get those tankless heaters serviced once a
- 47:29year or they're prone to failing due to sediment build up, and that can
- 47:31be expensive. So you know, every house is different. What's right for
- 47:35your household? That's the question. And the good news is you're going to
- 47:37give your honest assessment, your honest take to someone that gives you a call
- 47:42and asks you directly, hey, I think maybe I want a tankless water
- 47:45heater. You're going to be as honest with him as you were with me
- 47:47just now. And the other cool thing is if it is right for someone's
- 47:52home and family, you've not only service those tankless water heaters, but you
- 47:54also install right. Oh absolutely yeah. Service is easy. Sometimes we can
- 47:59even walk you through it because they'll flash codes that we can look up for
- 48:01you. So this is why I recommend Brooks Plumbing. So give them a

- 49:00caught up much on what you've been up to. I saw you post the
- 49:01other day. Did you get Are you on another show that's on Amazon?
- 49:07Now? What's the deal? Oh? No? So I did a travel
- 49:09show for Amazon that was really really cool. It was probably the most fun,
- 49:15uh, I've had in a very long time. But it was on
- 49:17Amazon and you had to buy the episodes to watch them. I'm on episodes
- 49:23two and six. It's called Destination Unknown with a J. Yeah, with
- 49:28a J, like like destination but jay because all comics. Uh, And
- 49:31we're in India and it's my buddy Virdas, who is a great comic.
- 49:37He's blown up. He's all over the world now. And so is that
- 49:38the guy that I saw? I know, i've seen him in places.
- 49:40How do you spell his name? Vr uh? Last name is Das,
- 49:46whole name is six letters, got it. Yeah, he's seen him.
- 49:51He was in a handful of things. It was on the H. He
- 49:53was on the H. It was only one season, but it was a
- 49:55show called Whiskey Tango. That's that's the one where I first record NS.
- 50:00I watched that yeah with with Scott fall. It was a great show.
- 50:02I just think that the budget was like there, it was filmed in Prague.
- 50:07The I think the whole thing high tum. It was filmed in Prague,
- 50:12and so like the first episode, I know their budget was thirteen million
- 50:15dollars for the first episode. And so that's a very fast way for network
- 50:20to go and thank you, thank you. We'll be in touch, like
- 50:23like, but we have the whole we have the whole season in the camp.
- 50:25I'm like, well, we'll still be in touch. But I did
- 50:29the show with him, and it's really cool. But now it's on Amazon
- 50:31Prime or sorry on Amazon Video, so you can just go look it up.
- 50:36You don't have to pay for the per episode. You can just go
- 50:39and watch. So I'm for free even though you gotta pay like a hundred
- 50:43something. About a year now, I think it's gone up. But yeah,
- 50:45okay, so that's yeah. I was watching the trailer and I was
- 50:47like, I haven't watched this. I feel like a jerk. Yeah.
- 50:51So we did two cities. It was two opposing climates. So the first
- 50:54city was a place called Jodpoor in Rajasthan, India. So it's the desert.
- 51:00So we did like camel racing and uh, that was that was the
- 51:05most horrific thing I've ever done, because it was were saying something because because
- 51:09while you were not technically paid for for most of it, you've done radio,
- 51:15I know, Uh, very true. Uh, and uh there was
- 51:20we did camel racing when we got to the desert. Uh, at eleven
- 51:23am, it was one hundred and see if I get this right, it
- 51:28was one hundred and seventeen. It was one hundred and twelve in the shade
- 51:31when we started filming, it went up to one hundred and twenty. And
- 51:35then one of the people that was I think it was doctor. Somebody was
- 51:39like, well, flesh starts cooking at one hundred and twenty seven degrees,
- 51:44just to let you guys know. And like every now and again, somebody
- 52:00will come up like, hey man, you do a joke about football,
- 52:02and I'm like, should have told you it was him, and then they
- 52:06just walk away. So yeah, so that'll get for you. It's very
- 52:08well deserved. I mean, thanks, after twenty one years, I'm an
- 52:12overnight success. And you know what's more fitting about all that? Almost the
- 52:17entirety of what you and Trey discussed in that time, and the secret to
- 52:22going viral on Instagram is lost forever because the power flashed here and I heard
- 52:27none of it therefore recorded there. Oh my goodness, look at that.
- 52:31But now now we're gonna have to do something with scoliosis because I forgot about
- 52:37that. Thank you so much for the next when it goes viral, I'll
- 52:39credit Trey for that, because who would have remembered that the scoliosis test.
- 52:44Oh my god, that's so wild. I still think highly illegal. I
- 52:49don't think that was I think that was there was some deal made by some
- 52:52Oh well, but you just mentioned just now you just mentioned things that it
- 52:57might have been highly illegal that we you know, did growing up as kids
- 53:00or were done to us that were the norm at the time. Twenty first
- 53:05century playgrounds on especially like at elementary schools. You know, they have like
- 53:10soft pellets or something that's around that basically at a hamster would live on,
- 53:15but now they have children on it. Everything's you know, candy coated plastic
- 53:21and soft. There's no sharp edges. Everything's round it. There's no metal,
- 53:24there's no wood. When we grew up, I mean, it was
- 53:29rocks. So when you flew out of the swing and you landed on your
- 53:32knees, you had rocks in your knees for weeks. Yeah, that was
- 53:37their solution to come. I mean, the only way you knew if you
- 53:39truly got everything out of recess that day is if you came back dirtied and
- 53:44bloodied. Yeah. I mean, I don't know if you guys know this,
- 53:49and maybe it's still in LA thing, but it is kind of moving
- 53:52across the country. Is you can't be on so the few playgrounds that still
- 53:57have swing sets. I don't know if you know as much blow your minds.
- 54:00You have to have to be adult supervised. Now, so there's yeah,
- 54:04so in la uh they'll have the swing set and then there's like a
- 54:07little you know, they're like the little bathroom check in at Bucky's. Yeah,
- 54:12like the checklists like hey, who cleaned it? And the guy signs
- 54:15like you if like if you? And that's why I'm so glad I have
- 54:16no children. I just because I just get a kick out of scene.
- 54:20It's like if you it doesn't even have to be your kid. It just
- 54:22has to be kids swinging like a like an adult will have to go over
- 54:28and be like I'm standing here like I'm supervising this to make sure that they
- 54:30don't get hurt. See that's that to me, is is is a complete
- 54:35one eighty because you're saying, now you have to have adult supervision a Swedie,
- 54:40to have a kid on a swing, an adult has to be watching
- 54:43you today. Hi kind of And I kind of understand that one though.
- 54:46Yeah they're dude, because we were assassins as kids who look at it this
- 54:51way. So now it's it's standing up. It's a standard operating procedure.
- 54:54You have to have adult supervision to have a kid on a swing. But
- 54:58when we grew up if we were on a swing set and there was an
- 55:01adult watching you. It wasn't a teacher, like that was the weirdo and
- 55:06the bushes and you're and you're calling for the teacher's assistance because there's a weirdo
- 55:09watching you swing. But let me ask you this, how many times did
- 55:14you yell jump to your friends when they were swinging it, like when they
- 55:17got to the highest part. How many times? That's well, it was,
- 55:22it was. It was almost fifty fifty. It was either jump or
- 55:25see if you can go all the way around. Oh, that was a
- 55:29good dud. Do the loop? Do the loop? And then they fall
- 55:31out, hit their head on the crossbar and all to the ground. They
- 55:34break every bone in their body and they still got up and you know,
- 55:37and had a nap afterwards. Yeah, yeah they did. But that guy
- 55:39could have also like like prior to that, this is how my brain works,
- 55:43like prior to that, Like he's he's swinging, he's having the time
- 55:45of his life, but it's like still good will hunting, like in his
- 55:47head like he's solving, like he's figured out how to cure cancer. And
- 55:52then we're like jump and he's like sweet and then he just sees the crossbar
- 55:55and dings his head and then all the numbers get jumbled up, and now
- 55:58he doesn't know how to cure anymore. But instead he's dyslexic. He's just
- 56:02he's just a dude that you said now just stands outside of an academy sports
- 56:07and outdoors in his letter, Jack, like, we could have made it
- 56:10like that's that guy instead of being the world renowned doctor that he was going
- 56:15to be. Uh yeah, so I mean I understand that. And also
- 56:19then they can't you can't grade kids tests in red ink anymore. Yeah,
- 56:23that's too aggressive. There was that, And then I actually saw I saw
- 56:29a photo and I don't even know if this was real. So this is
- 56:31a generational thing. So we're looking at the old man thing. It's like,
- 56:36oh, kids today, they you know, they play on soft playgrounds,
- 56:38whereas you know, we had metal slides and chains and things on our
- 56:43playground equipment. Um an occasional broken glass. But then I looked someone had
- 56:49posted a photo of a I don't want to say it was like a turn
- 56:52of the century or Great Depression Arab jungle gym that kids were playing on,
- 56:58and oh my god, it looked like something that was almost like something out
- 57:01of the medieval torture playground. And even I'm looking at those kids shouldn't be
- 57:07playing on that, And that was supposedly like part of the Greatest Generation.
- 57:13That's the stuff they played on. And then when they turned eighteen they went
- 57:15and storm Normandy. That's but that's why, that's why, that's why they
- 57:21could do those things, right, is because that and I just wrote this
- 57:23the other day. Yeah, because they weren't playing, they were training.
- 57:28They were training, right, and like that's that's the reason they saw they
- 57:31signed up for war, Like there wasn't a draft. They're just like we're
- 57:37coming, right. They had to they had to take out their their version
- 57:40of the anger that they had going down the hot metal slide whatever their version
- 57:45was, like, we have to kill, like that's the only way to
- 57:47feed that anger is. It was like they had to kill like that and
- 57:52no power steering. Now, that's how they built their upper body strength to
- 57:57go hand to hand, you know, in the trenches. Yeah. Yeah,
- 58:00and that's why they like they drink like those guys drank whiskey and ate
- 58:04steak, because like you can't you can't turn two and a half ton Buick
- 58:07with sober arms, you know what I mean, Like you have to you
- 58:10just have to be like blackout drunk with a steak dangling out of your mouth
- 58:15to make a U turn into thirty five buick. And and I think that
- 58:20was part of the reason why, like after after nine to eleven, you
- 58:22start to see all these terrorists training videos come out, and really all their
- 58:27training on was stuff that we did in like you know, fourth grade.
- 58:30Yeah, these are supposedly grown adult you know, a terrorist assassins training on
- 58:36the monkey bars. I'm like, man, I was doing that when I
- 58:37was six. I was like, like the monkey bars. Every time I
- 58:42see that video, I'm like, what are you guys training? Four?
- 58:45Like, like do you think there's gonna be like every like like America is
- 58:50just all obstacle court, Like it's all American Ninia Warrior, Like there's just
- 58:53some abilities you can walk into, Like just why, I like, you
- 58:57don't have to like do pull ups to get into that makes that that to
- 59:00me is hilarious, Like it was basically the King of the Hill, Like
- 59:04what was that thing? Yeah, that was King of the Hill, Yeah
- 59:06exactly, Yeah, that was the thing that some playgrounds had that like the
- 59:09big dome and you would like climb to the top or whatever dome of death.
- 59:13Yeah yeah, and so yeah, the Merry Go Round was not I
- 59:16mean, that's not conducive to child safety. I'm still I still get motion
- 59:21sickness, and I blamed it round for it. I have to I have
- 59:25to take dram I mean anytime I get on a boat, oh you just
- 59:30see you just see the poor Like I was that kid where they like get
- 59:31him on because I was just I was the one that flies off. So
- 59:36I was I was the entertainment for everybody's like, if we spend this fast
- 59:38enough, Rod is gonna go, Like he's gonna go. We don't know
- 59:43which direction. You ever seen a brown man fly, Bobby, He's gonna
- 59:50have scoliosis. After this, be sure to download, listen, share,
