- 1:09Sean McAllister: Vegas Revealed presented by Level Up Law starts now.
- 1:14Sean McAllister: Welcome to Vegas Revealed, episode 234.
- 1:17Sean McAllister: Sean McAllister here along with Dana Roselli.
- 1:21Sean McAllister: And Dana, it's good to see you.
- 1:22Dayna Roselli: I know, good to see you.
- 1:23Dayna Roselli: Both of us have been off for a week in different locations.
- 1:27Dayna Roselli: And then whenever we get back together, we're like, I can't decide if that felt really long and I haven't seen you in a long time, or I feel like I was just here yesterday.
- 1:36Dayna Roselli: But here we are again.
- 1:37Dayna Roselli: It's nice to see your face.
- 1:39Sean McAllister: Here we are again.
- 1:40Sean McAllister: And we each have some things to share from our travels.
- 1:45Sean McAllister: That's going to be coming up in just a little bit.
- 1:48Sean McAllister: But we have uh Vegas news to start out with.
- 1:52Sean McAllister: And the talk of not only Vegas and the country, uh, but the world over the past few weeks has been the Olympics.
- 2:00Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 2:01Dayna Roselli: So many people have been watching it.
- 2:02Dayna Roselli: I know my dad was planted on his recliner half the time I was home in New York watching the Olympics.
- 2:07Dayna Roselli: And friends and some people are really into it.
- 2:10Dayna Roselli: I will say I did not watch a lot of it.
- 2:13Dayna Roselli: I watched some uh when the TV was in front of me or whatever.
- 2:16Dayna Roselli: But I know it people just love it.
- 2:18Sean McAllister: I mean, it it is nice to see the entire world uniting around something that's that's positive and exciting.
- 2:28Sean McAllister: So uh that's what I love about the Olympics.
- 2:31Sean McAllister: I also love that we have so many Nevadans who brought home medals.
- 2:36Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 2:37Sean McAllister: Katie Grimes got a silver medal in swimming, uh Claire Weinstein, silver medal in swimming, Luke Hobson won a silver and bronze in events, uh Paris Benegas, a silver in BMX, uh Stephanie Rivetti, a bronze in rugby, and then we have Kelsey Plum, Asia Wilson, Jackie Young, and Chelsea Gray from the Las Vegas Aces, who are on the U.S.
- 3:04Sean McAllister: women's basketball team, and they brought home gold.
- 3:07Dayna Roselli: I know, and that is actually w one thing that I did watch.
- 3:11Dayna Roselli: It happened to be on while we were up in my parents' family room, and I was like, oh, I know them.
- 3:16Dayna Roselli: That was fun to watch.
- 3:17Sean McAllister: And so, in in addition to their WNBA championships, they now have gold medals.
- 3:23Dayna Roselli: It's crazy too, and I'm sure that you uh uh probably did this as as well.
- 3:28Dayna Roselli: But when Asia Wilson, or well, when we first got basically, you know, the Las Vegas Aces were created, Asia Wilson was on the team from the beginning.
- 3:36Dayna Roselli: And I remember interviewing her twice, like she'd come in the studio when I was and I and now like look at her now, like it's amazing.
- 3:43Sean McAllister: I know, and she's so cool and down to earth, and just a great, just a great person, right, too.
- 3:50Dayna Roselli: Here's my Olympic comment though, okay.
- 3:52Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 3:52Dayna Roselli: I was getting my nails done and I was watching like volleyball or something, it was men's volleyball.
- 3:57Dayna Roselli: And um, they kept like showing the crowd, and I don't know why this annoyed me, but every time someone is in a crowd shot, they make the heart hands.
- 4:08Dayna Roselli: And I'm like, you all need to come up with a different shtick.
- 4:11Dayna Roselli: Like, I'm over it.
- 4:12Dayna Roselli: Like, okay, we get it.
- 4:13Dayna Roselli: Hard hands, hard hands, and I was like, all right.
- 4:17Dayna Roselli: Well, I think that's overdone, and we need to find a new thing to do when the camera comes on you.
- 4:23Sean McAllister: How about just a little wink?
- 4:24Dayna Roselli: A wink and a nod.
- 4:26Dayna Roselli: A wave, something.
- 4:28Dayna Roselli: I don't know.
- 4:29Dayna Roselli: I was over that.
- 4:30Dayna Roselli: No heart hands, hard hands, every shot.
- 4:32Dayna Roselli: Hard hands, hard hands, hard hands.
- 4:34Dayna Roselli: I was like, all right, enough of the hard hands.
- 4:35Sean McAllister: Are heart hands so 2023?
- 4:38Dayna Roselli: That's what I think, uh, personally.
- 4:39Dayna Roselli: But anyway, yeah, was watching um men's bet uh men's volleyball, and it was so interesting because it's like, you know, volleyball when you think of it as like back, forth, back, forth, and then oh, but like they're so good that every time they made a shot, it was like literally like out.
- 4:55Sean McAllister: Right.
- 4:55Dayna Roselli: Start over, out, start over.
- 4:57Dayna Roselli: And I was like, wow, I mean, it it wasn't actually that entertaining to watch, to be honest, because it wasn't like the back and forth, back and forth, someone get you know hits it, misses it, and blah, blah.
- 5:08Dayna Roselli: So anyway, that that was that was me watching volleyball.
- 5:11Dayna Roselli: That's about it.
- 5:11Dayna Roselli: But um, listen, love that all these Nevadans um have done so well and people, you know, really across the United States.
- 5:18Sean McAllister: And now looking ahead to uh 2028.
- 5:23Dayna Roselli: Yeah, 28.
- 5:24Sean McAllister: Uh, Los Angeles is going to host the summer games.
- 5:28Sean McAllister: Yep.
- 5:29Sean McAllister: And we saw, I thought of you when I saw Tom Cruise jumping from the roof of the stadium there during closing ceremonies to kind of kick off the handoff to LA.
- 5:41Sean McAllister: Yep.
- 5:41Sean McAllister: Um, I mean, were you freaking out?
- 5:44Dayna Roselli: Uh no, because I knew about it because they were teasing it uh on Instagram, so I knew it was gonna happen.
- 5:49Dayna Roselli: Oh, okay.
- 5:50Dayna Roselli: So I was like, and then which I thought was kind of like they really spoiled it.
- 5:53Dayna Roselli: I didn't like that.
- 5:54Dayna Roselli: Rumors have it that Tom Cruise is gonna jump off whatever and deliver the flag to you know Los Angeles and the Hollywood sign.
- 6:01Dayna Roselli: And I was like, why are you telling us?
- 6:03Dayna Roselli: Sometimes I don't like when people break news like that.
- 6:06Dayna Roselli: Like if it's supposed to be a surprise, keep it a surprise.
- 6:08Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 6:09Dayna Roselli: So I knew it was coming, but it was fun to watch.
- 6:10Dayna Roselli: I'm a huge Tom Cruise fan.
- 6:12Dayna Roselli: I love that he took part in that whole thing.
- 6:14Dayna Roselli: Um, we saw that he was there earlier in the week.
- 6:16Dayna Roselli: He had a picture with Hoda.
- 6:18Dayna Roselli: Oh, yeah.
- 6:19Sean McAllister: I mean, he was there from the get-go.
- 6:20Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 6:21Sean McAllister: He was there throughout the whole the whole games.
- 6:23Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 6:24Dayna Roselli: So um, I love that.
- 6:25Dayna Roselli: There were a lot of people, you know, obviously Snoop and what was the whole Snoop thing?
- 6:30Dayna Roselli: Was he like the United States?
- 6:31Dayna Roselli: Like, why was Snoop there every day?
- 6:33Dayna Roselli: I still never really figured that out.
- 6:35Sean McAllister: I think Snoop might have been doing some commentary on like the peacock.
- 6:40Dayna Roselli: Oh, okay.
- 6:42Dayna Roselli: I was wondering.
- 6:43Sean McAllister: I think he had something to do with it.
- 6:44Dayna Roselli: He had something to do with it.
- 6:46Sean McAllister: Martha Stewart was over there.
- 6:47Dayna Roselli: Yep, Cookie Monster.
- 6:49Dayna Roselli: Join them on set.
- 6:50Dayna Roselli: I saw that for one.
- 6:53Sean McAllister: You can't have an Olympics without Cookie Monster.
- 6:55Dayna Roselli: You can't.
- 6:56Dayna Roselli: Anyone who's the Who's Who we're at the Eiffel Tower.
- 7:00Dayna Roselli: All right.
- 7:00Dayna Roselli: Well, moving on to some Las Vegas news now.
- 7:04Dayna Roselli: Um, while we were off, it was announced that Jason Aldean is opening a restaurant and bar here in Las Vegas on the strip.
- 7:11Dayna Roselli: We kind of heard some chatter about this.
- 7:12Dayna Roselli: I think we mentioned it a while ago, actually, months ago.
- 7:16Sean McAllister: Yeah, several episodes ago.
- 7:18Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 7:18Dayna Roselli: So I guess it's gonna open um this fall.
- 7:20Dayna Roselli: So that's exciting.
- 7:22Dayna Roselli: It is gonna be run by TC Restaurant Group, and they own and operate a bunch of entertainment and dining destinations.
- 7:29Dayna Roselli: So they're teaming up with Jason, and it'll be called Jason Al Dean's Kitchen and Bar.
- 7:34Dayna Roselli: And it's gonna be right there.
- 7:36Dayna Roselli: What's like near Ocean Prime, right?
- 7:38Dayna Roselli: On that corner.
- 7:39Sean McAllister: It's 63 City Center, right on the corner there of Las Vegas Boulevard and Harmon.
- 7:45Sean McAllister: Um, this is gonna be more than 22,000 square feet, a two-story venue, of course, with Jason Aldean's name attached to it.
- 7:55Sean McAllister: You can expect music to be there.
- 7:57Sean McAllister: They'll have two music stages with regular live performances, um, but not only country.
- 8:04Sean McAllister: They say that there are also going to be other uh top 40 genres represented in the music that's played um at the venue as well.
- 8:12Sean McAllister: Uh 250 seat plus uh capacity, um great views.
- 8:18Sean McAllister: So it's gonna be a hit.
- 8:21Sean McAllister: It will be it's a good location with Jason's name attached to it.
- 8:25Sean McAllister: Uh there's also gonna be a radio studio in there.
- 8:29Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and and that's kind of cool.
- 8:31Dayna Roselli: So it's an iHeart radio studio, and they're gonna be doing like interviews, some performances in there.
- 8:38Dayna Roselli: Various musicians and celebrities will stop by.
- 8:40Dayna Roselli: So that's kind of cool.
- 8:41Dayna Roselli: A lot of impromptu stuff.
- 8:44Dayna Roselli: I love that idea.
- 8:46Sean McAllister: Yeah, so we can expect Jason Aldean's kitchen and bar to open here on the Las Vegas strip this fall, not too far away.
- 8:54Dayna Roselli: No, it's right around the corner.
- 8:56Dayna Roselli: You know what else is around the corner?
- 8:58Sean McAllister: What's that?
- 8:59Dayna Roselli: Blake Shelton's Old Red.
- 9:01Sean McAllister: That's right.
- 9:01Dayna Roselli: Honky Tonk restaurant, bar, and live performance venue.
- 9:06Dayna Roselli: So this will be interesting.
- 9:09Dayna Roselli: Little competition, never hurt anyone, right?
- 9:11Dayna Roselli: Um, but Blake Shelton also announcing a new residency at the Coliseum at Caesars Palace.
- 9:16Dayna Roselli: It's February 5th to the 15th.
- 9:18Dayna Roselli: So it's a bunch of shows.
- 9:20Dayna Roselli: We already know they're gonna sell and they'll probably add more.
- 9:24Dayna Roselli: That's just how it works.
- 9:26Dayna Roselli: Because it is hard to say, like a residency, you know, it's 10 days.
- 9:30Dayna Roselli: Um, but I think it's gonna be a full-blown residency, as in, you know, there'll be additions.
- 9:35Sean McAllister: Oh, without a doubt.
- 9:36Dayna Roselli: Just how it works, right?
- 9:38Sean McAllister: Well, and uh Blake was actually honored at the Keep Memory Alive gala, which is a big fundraising gala for the uh Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health.
- 9:50Sean McAllister: Uh, and on the on the carpet there as he was arriving, um, he was asked about doing a Las Vegas residency, and we were right there to hear his answer.
- 10:02Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and he had said it, you know, I think it's time.
- 10:04Dayna Roselli: So we knew he's been in discussions and talking about it, and he told us, you know, he was ready, he thinks it's time to do it.
- 10:12Dayna Roselli: He's been talking about it for a long time.
- 10:14Dayna Roselli: So, anyway, for those of you who want to see Blake Shelton, uh, tickets on sale.
- 10:19Dayna Roselli: He's doing six performances.
- 10:21Dayna Roselli: They're scheduled February 5th to the 15th of 2025 over at the Coliseum at Caesars Palace.
- 10:28Sean McAllister: Also, over at the Coliseum, um, I feel like Rod Stewart gave us a little bit of whiplash.
- 10:34Dayna Roselli: That was weird.
- 10:34Dayna Roselli: What happened?
- 10:35Sean McAllister: I don't know.
- 10:36Sean McAllister: We got notice that Rod Stewart's residency was ending, and then he came back and said, No, I got more shows coming up.
- 10:44Dayna Roselli: He's a new share.
- 10:46Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 10:47Dayna Roselli: The farewell tour, and then there was another.
- 10:50Dayna Roselli: Um, but so yeah, Rod's coming back and doing more shows at the Coliseum at Caesar's Palace.
- 10:54Dayna Roselli: We thought his run was was done, and I think there was even like a little goodbye celebration.
- 10:58Dayna Roselli: But anyway, um, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer is back for his slew of shows, and this is called the Encore Shows.
- 11:08Sean McAllister: Appropriate.
- 11:09Dayna Roselli: There are 12 new concerts on sale uh March.
- 11:13Dayna Roselli: He's doing a bunch of shows May and then June of 2025.
- 11:19Sean McAllister: All right.
- 11:20Dayna Roselli: So if you think Rod sexy, and you did then go see him.
- 11:25Sean McAllister: Yeah, go see him.
- 11:26Sean McAllister: Go see the encore shows.
- 11:27Dayna Roselli: But you know, it's interesting because you know, all these announcements and people are doing, you know, limited shows, they're in for a few shows, they're gone.
- 11:34Dayna Roselli: They're and I was just thinking, like, we do have a lot of showrooms on the strip now, and I don't think we need any more because you know, some of these theaters and showrooms are really I don't see like and and I'm not being negative, but they're empty for a long period of time before someone comes back to fill it.
- 11:51Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 11:51Dayna Roselli: Because they're coming and going and like kind of like okay, you know, uh we're good.
- 11:57Sean McAllister: And especially compared to, I don't know, what, five, seven years ago, ten years ago, yeah, here when there were very few dark days in the theaters on the strip.
- 12:11Dayna Roselli: I mean, that was the point, right?
- 12:12Dayna Roselli: They were like continuous residencies.
- 12:14Dayna Roselli: If you had a residency, it meant you were here five or six days a week, or at least four every single week, not just for six performances.
- 12:24Sean McAllister: And obviously we still had touring artists coming through, but that was in addition to the the stacked lineup of of resident uh entertainers.
- 12:36Sean McAllister: And it seems like that's fallen off quite a bit lately.
- 12:40Dayna Roselli: It's kind of gone to this, and it's cool because we get really great people and they get to work on a show and do a bunch, leave for a little bit, come back, and it's highly produced and things like that.
- 12:50Dayna Roselli: So we're getting like a cool Vegas y show, but uh it's just so limited, right?
- 12:58Dayna Roselli: You know, and it's not consistent, and it was kind of like this is the new way, and now it just seems like you know, it's just gone in that direction almost full stop.
- 13:08Sean McAllister: Yeah, it has.
- 13:09Sean McAllister: So, no, I agree with you.
- 13:10Sean McAllister: I think let's fill the theaters we have before any others are built and deal with that.
- 13:17Dayna Roselli: Well, I am excited about this one.
- 13:19Dayna Roselli: Rumor has it, Janet Jackson is possibly gonna sign a residency deal over at Resorts World.
- 13:24Dayna Roselli: They have an amazing theater and they need some more shows in there, and I'm excited to hear that Janet could possibly be one of the performers that they sign.
- 13:36Dayna Roselli: This is all according to TMZ, and usually TMZ is right.
- 13:39Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 13:40Dayna Roselli: So, um, but apparently she's gonna maybe do a performance on New Year's Eve, too.
- 13:44Dayna Roselli: So that could be cool.
- 13:45Dayna Roselli: I love Janet.
- 13:46Dayna Roselli: Listen, I went to see Janet Park MGM.
- 13:48Dayna Roselli: We talked about this before, right?
- 13:50Dayna Roselli: Knew I'd like it, but didn't realize how much I'd love it.
- 13:53Sean McAllister: Yep.
- 13:54Dayna Roselli: Like I loved that show, it just was such high energy.
- 13:58Dayna Roselli: Janet's got some hits.
- 14:00Sean McAllister: Oh, she's got great hits.
- 14:02Dayna Roselli: Her hair was blowing in the wind.
- 14:03Sean McAllister: It sure was.
- 14:05Sean McAllister: I mean, Janet's great, and then the the dance moves on top of it, like her dancers, yeah.
- 14:11Sean McAllister: It's Janet's got a show, and she I think it's fair to say that Janet Jackson is an icon.
- 14:19Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 14:20Sean McAllister: So she is worthy of a residency, and we'd love to see that come true.
- 14:26Sean McAllister: We'd love to see that confirmed definitely.
- 14:29Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 14:30Dayna Roselli: An update now on the cosmopolitan and MGM and their rewards program.
- 14:38Dayna Roselli: Because a lot of you have asked us, like, when is everything changing over?
- 14:42Dayna Roselli: And so here's the deal the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas has officially transitioned now from its identity loyalty program over to the MGM rewards loyalty program.
- 14:53Dayna Roselli: So that is official.
- 14:55Sean McAllister: So if you're playing uh gambling over at the Cosmopolitan, uh you can now earn rewards points, slot dollars, and tier credits over there at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.
- 15:10Sean McAllister: So um, you know, if you're using the rewards programs and that's part of the reason that you come to Las Vegas and gamble, uh you can now earn those MGM rewards over there at Cosmopolitan.
- 15:25Dayna Roselli: I I still forget that MGM owns and runs Cosmopolitan.
- 15:31Sean McAllister: I know.
- 15:31Sean McAllister: Well, it's been so long that it was, I mean, forever.
- 15:34Sean McAllister: Cosmopolitan was like its own thing.
- 15:37Sean McAllister: And to now have it linked to to MGM resorts is uh you have to re- retrain the brain a little bit.
- 15:45Sean McAllister: Hey, we're also getting some news about uh Formula One.
- 15:49Sean McAllister: That race is gonna be coming up on us here uh in no time, under a hundred days away from the race, as a matter of fact.
- 15:57Sean McAllister: Believe it.
- 15:58Sean McAllister: Uh, but we just uh got word of some of the first uh music artists who are going to be performing in the stages surrounding the race.
- 16:08Sean McAllister: Uh Ludacris, Alesso, and One Republic are set to headline the T-Mobile Zone, which is over at uh Sphere Las Vegas.
- 16:18Sean McAllister: So we can expect those names to be up there, entertaining the crowds who are uh staged along that turn.
- 16:26Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 16:27Dayna Roselli: And things just keep pouring out press release-wise in our inbox of all these different experiences that are taking place at all the different hotels.
- 16:35Dayna Roselli: So we will actually dedicate some more time to that in uh as it gets closer because there's a bunch of stuff.
- 16:42Dayna Roselli: And I know they're really pushing, you know, and trying to make this more uh locally friendly.
- 16:47Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 16:47Dayna Roselli: I know there's some giveaways that are happening actually around town, one in Henderson, one up north in northern Las Vegas.
- 16:53Dayna Roselli: So really trying to connect the community this time.
- 16:56Dayna Roselli: Um, another thing we haven't heard, I saw someone say this actually on Twitter the other day.
- 17:01Dayna Roselli: Like, we nobody can complain.
- 17:03Dayna Roselli: We have not heard or had to experience any road construction issues on the strip, and we're halfway through August.
- 17:11SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 17:11Dayna Roselli: Because remember last summer?
- 17:12SPEAKER_02: You sure did.
- 17:13Dayna Roselli: It was a nightmare.
- 17:14Dayna Roselli: And now, as promised, they did say you're not gonna see what you saw last year.
- 17:19Dayna Roselli: And people were like, a lot of people were like, okay, I'll believe it when I see it.
- 17:22Dayna Roselli: Well, we're we're doing pretty good right now.
- 17:24Sean McAllister: I did see there's a uh big dirt lot uh right across the street from uh the F1 headquarters, the F1, the main F1 building.
- 17:34Sean McAllister: And I did see that there's some like construction of stands that's already happening on that lot, but of course, that's not impacting traffic or anything.
- 17:43Sean McAllister: So that's a good thing for everyone who's impacted by that uh in and around the the resort corridor there.
- 17:52Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 17:53Dayna Roselli: Um, okay, so like uh we just mentioned, we'll have more on F1 one uh coming up.
- 17:57Dayna Roselli: By the way, that Neon City Festival, is that what it's called?
- 18:00Dayna Roselli: Um, that we mentioned happening in downtown Las Vegas at the same time as F1 is taking place on the strip for a bunch of days.
- 18:08Dayna Roselli: Um they're putting out more and more information.
- 18:10Dayna Roselli: And so heads up on that.
- 18:12Dayna Roselli: I should actually give you the I think it's neoncityfestival.com.
- 18:16Dayna Roselli: But but um they haven't announced the performers yet, but it is a free music festival for all ages.
- 18:26Dayna Roselli: Yes, neoncityfestival.com.
- 18:28Sean McAllister: And and the website is one of the things that is new, so you can go there to uh get more information about what the festival is going to entail.
- 18:37Sean McAllister: You can sign up for for updates on the website so that you're first to know uh as uh more news does come out about that.
- 18:46Sean McAllister: But yeah, I think that's gonna be really interesting to see how this free downtown music festival does in conjunction with Formula One.
- 18:56Dayna Roselli: I know it'll be pretty cool, you know, music, food, art, all sorts of stuff that they plan to have in there.
- 19:01Dayna Roselli: Um, and they did say in the in the coming weeks they'll announce, you know, who's coming in for the music part of it.
- 19:07Dayna Roselli: So yeah, it will definitely be.
- 19:09Dayna Roselli: They also have an interesting, they also they do have a list of frequently asked questions on the website too.
- 19:13Dayna Roselli: So if you want to go there, like where it's located and that kind of thing.
- 19:16Dayna Roselli: Because they're gonna be, you know, a lot of sections of downtown.
- 19:19Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 19:19Sean McAllister: All right, very good.
- 19:21Sean McAllister: Uh so as we mentioned at the top of the show, uh, Dana and I are back together after taking a little bit of time off.
- 19:29Sean McAllister: And Dana, you were back east and you ended up seeing our friend uh Debbie Gibson.
- 19:35Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 19:36Dayna Roselli: Uh Debbie lives here in Las Vegas.
- 19:38Dayna Roselli: You know, we're friends with her, and she's been doing a bunch of shows on the road.
- 19:41Dayna Roselli: She was doing a bunch in New York.
- 19:42Dayna Roselli: And when I planned to go home to see my family, I realized wait a minute, I need to fly in a day early because Debbie's performing at a local hotel casino about 35 minutes away from where my parents live.
- 19:56Dayna Roselli: It's called Del Lago.
- 19:58Dayna Roselli: So it was so much fun.
- 20:00Dayna Roselli: We had a blast.
- 20:01Dayna Roselli: Um, loved seeing Debbie went backstage, got to see her electric youth, you know, tour.
- 20:07Dayna Roselli: So she did all the songs from, you know, her her album and um the band was great.
- 20:13Dayna Roselli: Um, it was a great fun crowd.
- 20:16Dayna Roselli: Um, people were into it, and you don't realize, like, again, like Debbie has so many hits that you just, you know, the whole crowd gets into it.
- 20:24Dayna Roselli: And it was fun because she would show on the screen um like the when when she was at her peak and this album was out, she was, you know, on tour doing it, and she would show that performance.
- 20:35Sean McAllister: So it was like concert footage from when she was originally touring.
- 20:40Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 20:40Dayna Roselli: And then her and the crew, like, because some of her dancers are the same, and even some of the backup singers and stuff, and like they were doing the same exact moves in time, in like synced time.
- 20:51Dayna Roselli: So you were like watching both.
- 20:52Dayna Roselli: So it was so much fun to see them.
- 20:54Dayna Roselli: That's pretty cool.
- 20:55Dayna Roselli: 35 years later.
- 20:56Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 20:57Dayna Roselli: It's it was crazy.
- 20:58Dayna Roselli: So that was a great, a great time.
- 21:00Dayna Roselli: Uh, one thing that I did want to point out though is how spoiled we are.
- 21:03Dayna Roselli: So I fly home the next day.
- 21:05Dayna Roselli: My mom's like, okay, my mom's all excited because we were gonna go, you know, get her out and have fun.
- 21:10Dayna Roselli: And and she's like, Um, where are we going to dinner?
- 21:13Dayna Roselli: You know, there's only there's like that restaurant there.
- 21:15Dayna Roselli: I'm like, well, what do you mean that restaurant?
- 21:17Dayna Roselli: And I'm like, like, it's a hotel casino, there's gotta be like 10, right?
- 21:21Dayna Roselli: So I'm so used to that.
- 21:22Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 21:22Dayna Roselli: No, there's one like main restaurant, and then like a cafe, and then like a couple tiny bars spread around, and that was it.
- 21:32Dayna Roselli: So when I went to make a reservation, well, it was a show night because Debbie was playing, so it's a big deal, and it was full.
- 21:39Sean McAllister: They were packed and booked up, huh?
- 21:41Dayna Roselli: Booked up, and then at the Del Lago in upstate New York, I have no pole.
- 21:50Sean McAllister: You don't know anyone there.
- 21:51Dayna Roselli: I don't know anyone.
- 21:54Dayna Roselli: So I'm like, what do I do?
- 21:55Sean McAllister: So what'd you do?
- 21:56Sean McAllister: Go to the Wendy's next door.
- 21:58Dayna Roselli: Oh no, I called instead of Friends with Debbie Gibson, and then I was in for the show, and it was a last minute.
- 22:04Dayna Roselli: Well, anyway, I still didn't get in because I didn't, I don't like to pull that card.
- 22:08Dayna Roselli: I just let the lady know that, like, hey, how does this work?
- 22:12Dayna Roselli: Should I make or can I walk in?
- 22:13Dayna Roselli: I really wanted to know if I could walk in.
- 22:15Dayna Roselli: And she's like, You really can't.
- 22:16Dayna Roselli: She goes, but make the 445 reservation.
- 22:20Dayna Roselli: See if when you get there, if you could walk into the other one, but then you have the other one as a backup.
- 22:24Dayna Roselli: So she told me how to navigate it.
- 22:26Sean McAllister: But did you end up getting a table?
- 22:28Dayna Roselli: And then she was like, I just waited on Debbie today for lunch.
- 22:31Dayna Roselli: And it was so funny.
- 22:32Dayna Roselli: Um, no, we went to the cafe at 445.
- 22:35Dayna Roselli: So it still had good food at the cafe, it just wasn't like the nicer restaurant.
- 22:39Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 22:39Dayna Roselli: So then we went for espresso martinis.
- 22:41Dayna Roselli: I took mom to the nice restaurant bar.
- 22:44Sean McAllister: Oh, okay.
- 22:45Sean McAllister: Good call.
- 22:46Dayna Roselli: Yep.
- 22:46Dayna Roselli: And then we ran into some friends and it was fun.
- 22:48Sean McAllister: So, moral of the story, not all hotel casinos are created equal.
- 22:53Dayna Roselli: No.
- 22:53Sean McAllister: I just no, the hard no.
- 22:55Dayna Roselli: The hard no.
- 22:56Dayna Roselli: I was like, what?
- 22:57Dayna Roselli: I can't get a reservation.
- 22:59Dayna Roselli: But Saturday night at Del Lago, it's hopping.
- 23:02Dayna Roselli: So FYI.
- 23:04Dayna Roselli: Not every hotel casino has 10 restaurants.
- 23:08Dayna Roselli: So, okay, you're back from Alaska.
- 23:10Dayna Roselli: You were saying you had the most perfect trip ever, and I love to hear this.
- 23:14Dayna Roselli: Last week we talked about you said you were going on a whale excursion.
- 23:18Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 23:19Dayna Roselli: So when I was gone, I texted you.
- 23:20Dayna Roselli: I didn't take, I didn't want to bother you on your vacation at all, but I said, I gotta find out, did he see the whales?
- 23:25Dayna Roselli: Because you said they told you it was guaranteed you were gonna see whales.
- 23:28Sean McAllister: It was guaranteed you see whales, or they would give you a hundred dollars back.
- 23:34Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 23:35Sean McAllister: If if you didn't see any whales.
- 23:37Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 23:38Dayna Roselli: And you saw the whales.
- 23:39Dayna Roselli: You sent me a video, and what a video! It's amazing.
- 23:43Sean McAllister: Not only did we see whales, but we were out on the water for no more than 10 minutes before those whales showed up, and then we just kept seeing them non-stop for the next two and a half hours.
- 23:57Sean McAllister: I mean, in every state of what whales do.
- 24:01Sean McAllister: We saw their, you know, blow spout going off.
- 24:04Sean McAllister: We saw them, you know, doing full breaches.
- 24:08Sean McAllister: And it's a rare thing, they said, for these whales to just breach and like jump up in the air once.
- 24:14Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 24:14Sean McAllister: But we saw them breaching like five times in a row.
- 24:19Sean McAllister: Right.
- 24:20Sean McAllister: And then uh they do this thing called bubble net feeding, where they're kind of in a circle underwater and they all blow bubbles up out of their spout.
- 24:31Sean McAllister: And that they do that when there's a big group of fish around, and it kind of traps the fish inside this column of bubbles.
- 24:38Sean McAllister: And as that's happening, all the whales open their mouths and surface in a big circle.
- 24:45Sean McAllister: There were like 10 to 12 of them at the same time doing this, and it happened like feet from our boat.
- 24:54Sean McAllister: The captain had had pulled the boat over, turned the engines off.
- 24:57Sean McAllister: He was like, Let's just sit here for a minute, see where they are.
- 25:00Sean McAllister: Well, all of a sudden, the captain was like, Oh my gosh, they're singing.
- 25:05Sean McAllister: I he was like, if you guys listen really close, you can hear the whales singing.
- 25:11Sean McAllister: That means they're really, really close.
- 25:14Sean McAllister: And of course, then we all got nervous.
- 25:16Sean McAllister: We were like, Oh my gosh, are they gonna like tip the boat over?
- 25:19Sean McAllister: Like, how close are we talking?
- 25:20Sean McAllister: He was like, Get your cameras out, start rolling, they're super close.
- 25:25Sean McAllister: And it gives me chills thinking about it now.
- 25:28Sean McAllister: Um, and you can hear it on the video that I have too.
- 25:30Sean McAllister: You can hear the whale songs, then all of a sudden, like their giant mouths in unison just rise up out of the out of the bay and eat all these fish.
- 25:44Sean McAllister: They swallow like 30,000 gallons of water each as they do this bubble net feeding, and then they're like just floating away, blow spouting more.
- 25:54Sean McAllister: I don't know if that's the appropriate term for it.
- 25:56Sean McAllister: That's what we're gonna call it.
- 25:57Sean McAllister: Yeah, that's what we're calling it.
- 25:58Sean McAllister: Then a little while later, they were tired, and there was this mom and a calf who were just laying there, they call it logging.
- 26:05Sean McAllister: It's essentially they're taking a nap, and they're just laying there floating, getting their nap in before it's time to go feed again.
- 26:13Sean McAllister: Yeah, but we saw whales, we saw bald eagles, we saw otters, uh, starfish, jellyfish, um a moose.
- 26:25Sean McAllister: Uh what else?
- 26:26Sean McAllister: I don't know, lots of stuff.
- 26:28Dayna Roselli: Lots of it was it was gorgeous.
- 26:29Sean McAllister: The weather was beautiful, it was like high 70s, low 80s, which was And dry or humid?
- 26:36Sean McAllister: Um it was a little bit humid, but it wasn't like crazy humid.
- 26:42Sean McAllister: There was definitely moisture in the air, and it had rained really hard for like nonstop.
- 26:48Sean McAllister: I think in July they had four days when it didn't rain.
- 26:51Sean McAllister: And then beginning of August, boom.
- 26:53Sean McAllister: It was sun and warm.
- 26:57Sean McAllister: Right.
- 26:57Sean McAllister: And everyone was like, oh my, the people who live there, they were like, This is really hot for us.
- 27:02Sean McAllister: Wow.
- 27:02Sean McAllister: Like normally we just open the windows to get you know a cool breeze coming through if the house gets warm.
- 27:08Sean McAllister: Well, none of that's happening.
- 27:10Sean McAllister: Yeah, there was no cool breeze to be had.
- 27:12Dayna Roselli: The waterfalls you saw, the bear.
- 27:14Dayna Roselli: Oh, your pictures and videos are incredible.
- 27:18Dayna Roselli: We were just saying, like, what do you do with all this?
- 27:20Dayna Roselli: Like, it's so good.
- 27:21Sean McAllister: I need to compile it all and and put something together.
- 27:24Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 27:24Sean McAllister: Uh, but it was a phenomenal trip.
- 27:27Sean McAllister: Uh, we were on the celebrity summit uh with celebrity cruise lines, obviously.
- 27:32Sean McAllister: Um, I want to give a shout out to them.
- 27:35Sean McAllister: Um, I get nothing out of it, but they were phenomenal and they made our entire group, there were eight of us, um they made it feel really special.
- 27:45Sean McAllister: And and I think that's a a testament to the um level of hospitality that that they provide.
- 27:52Sean McAllister: So we had a fantastic time.
- 27:54Sean McAllister: It was tremendous.
- 27:55Dayna Roselli: You have to post that video of that bartender making the like eight martinis at once and pouring them.
- 28:01Dayna Roselli: I don't know, I can't even explain it.
- 28:03Dayna Roselli: Like you have to post it.
- 28:05Sean McAllister: I will.
- 28:05Dayna Roselli: Maybe we'll post it on Vegas Revealed, or you can post it just to say, hey, um, who does this in Vegas?
- 28:11Dayna Roselli: Maybe nobody.
- 28:12Sean McAllister: We need to see.
- 28:13Sean McAllister: I somebody's got to.
- 28:15Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 28:15Sean McAllister: But it was something.
- 28:17Sean McAllister: We got the final martini show of the cruise.
- 28:21Dayna Roselli: It was, I can't even explain it.
- 28:22Dayna Roselli: How this guy did, I just still can't figure it out.
- 28:24Sean McAllister: Without spilling a drop.
- 28:26Dayna Roselli: Amazing.
- 28:27Dayna Roselli: All right.
- 28:27Dayna Roselli: Well, now let's do some tips.
- 28:32Sean McAllister: To kick off tips, Dana.
- 28:34Sean McAllister: Uh, we have a hotel deal, uh staycation deal.
- 28:40Sean McAllister: Um, or if you're from out of town, just a hotel deal.
- 28:42Sean McAllister: Uh at the Plaza Hotel Casino uh in downtown Las Vegas, right there on Maine and Fremont, um, they have several different hotel deals going on, whether some are for locals, some are for everybody.
- 28:57Sean McAllister: Um, but they do have a variety of deals, and we wanted to bring it to your attention.
- 29:01Sean McAllister: If you go to uh the plazahotelcasino.com, you can click on the hotel packages tab, and they'll have uh those listed out for you.
- 29:13Sean McAllister: But they're end of summer deals.
- 29:15Sean McAllister: The weather is getting actually really nice to be outside again.
- 29:19Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 29:20Sean McAllister: So now is a good time to take advantage of it.
- 29:22Dayna Roselli: Yeah, you just got to book online for the stay before August 31st.
- 29:26Dayna Roselli: And one thing they are doing, Sean, and again, go on and look at the details because there's too many different things.
- 29:31Dayna Roselli: Some are for Nevada residents, like you mentioned.
- 29:33Dayna Roselli: Um, but they're doing this one thing.
- 29:35Dayna Roselli: Um, and it's an all-inclusive hotel package, which is pretty rare in Vegas.
- 29:39SPEAKER_02: It is.
- 29:40Dayna Roselli: And it includes like bottomless drinks at a bunch of the bars, a breakfast, a dinner, they waive resort fees and more.
- 29:47Dayna Roselli: So I thought that was kind of cool.
- 29:49Dayna Roselli: I'd love a bunch of I don't know.
- 29:52Dayna Roselli: I'd like some hotels maybe to try that out more, the all-inclusive, like getting like a package, you know.
- 29:59Sean McAllister: I think it's a brilliant idea.
- 30:01Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 30:01Sean McAllister: I would do it.
- 30:02Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 30:03Dayna Roselli: I feel like sometimes people don't want to think, you know, they just want to like, okay, we can get a drink here.
- 30:07Dayna Roselli: It's all included, you know.
- 30:08Sean McAllister: Where you don't, yes, where you don't have to plan your entire stay like piecemeal.
- 30:14Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 30:15Dayna Roselli: Exactly.
- 30:15Dayna Roselli: So yeah, end of summer deal.
- 30:17Dayna Roselli: Um, go enjoy the plaza.
- 30:19Dayna Roselli: It's right there uh at the end of Fremont Street.
- 30:22Dayna Roselli: You get to look down and go to Oscar's Steakhouse.
- 30:24Dayna Roselli: Great place.
- 30:25Dayna Roselli: I got the carousel bar, the plaza.
- 30:27Dayna Roselli: Nope, not the okay.
- 30:29Dayna Roselli: Ww plaza hotelcasino.com.
- 30:32Dayna Roselli: No the in front of it.
- 30:33Sean McAllister: And another tip um relates to Vegas dining and entertainment.
- 30:39Sean McAllister: We've uh talked about uh disco show, it's a new show from Spiegel World that's opening over at the link.
- 30:47Sean McAllister: Um, and there's a a dinner, a diner that's kind of associated with the show.
- 30:54Sean McAllister: It's called Diner Ross, and because this is a whole 70s disco themed thing, like a studio 54 type experience.
- 31:03Sean McAllister: So I think that Diner Ross obviously is a play on Diana Ross.
- 31:08SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 31:08Sean McAllister: Um, but this diner is attached to uh the disco show show, and it's now open.
- 31:15Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and it's interesting because it's uh, you know, Spiegel World's so quirky.
- 31:19Dayna Roselli: So we have to go over and check it out.
- 31:20Dayna Roselli: So Diner Ross is now open, and then disco shows and preview performances.
- 31:25Dayna Roselli: I think it officially has its grand opening like September 7th.
- 31:29Dayna Roselli: Um, but Diner Ross looks fun, and I'm sure there will be some like fun, cool, quirky things that have to do with it inside.
- 31:37Sean McAllister: I have no doubt.
- 31:38Sean McAllister: Yeah, we're looking forward to having the disco night out.
- 31:42Dayna Roselli: Yeah, but it is open, like Sean said.
- 31:43Dayna Roselli: Hey, there's a Halloween pop-up experience coming to downtown Las Vegas.
- 31:48Dayna Roselli: It's called the Black Lagoon.
- 31:50Dayna Roselli: Now, apparently they do this all over, and they have like a list of like 35 plus cocktail bars and cities across the globe that transform into this eerie, like spine-chilling haunt throughout all of October.
- 32:10Dayna Roselli: And they picked a spot in Las Vegas, and we have the spot.
- 32:14Sean McAllister: We do, it's an evil pie in downtown Las Vegas.
- 32:18Sean McAllister: A black lagoon will be popping up from October 4th through November 1st.
- 32:24Sean McAllister: So we've got the Halloween season covered there.
- 32:26Sean McAllister: Right.
- 32:27Sean McAllister: And if you step into a store these days, I'm sure you will be inundated with Halloween decor.
- 32:34Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 32:34Sean McAllister: I know the the PSLs are starting to come back to the pumpkin spice lattes, which we won't even get into.
- 32:42Dayna Roselli: We're still at 100 degrees.
- 32:43Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 32:44Sean McAllister: Uh we're not ready, but I I heard on the even on the Today show the other day, I heard them refer to it as Octoberfest.
- 32:53Sean McAllister: Oh.
- 32:54Sean McAllister: Because everything fall is coming out now in October.
- 32:59Sean McAllister: Or now in August.
- 33:00Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 33:01Dayna Roselli: Oh, I went to big lots when I was in upstate New York, and it was like all Halloween decorations.
- 33:06Dayna Roselli: My mom's like, oh, it's been out since like mid-July.
- 33:08Dayna Roselli: It's sickening.
- 33:09Sean McAllister: Oh my god.
- 33:09Dayna Roselli: I'm like, stop moving us along.
- 33:12Dayna Roselli: This is too much.
- 33:13Sean McAllister: Let us enjoy our seasons in peace.
- 33:15Dayna Roselli: Seriously.
- 33:16Dayna Roselli: Um but yeah, they're gonna be doing uh curated cocktail menu.
- 33:20Dayna Roselli: So that's what the pop-up is about.
- 33:22Dayna Roselli: Um, they have Halloween themed drinks.
- 33:24Dayna Roselli: I know people love that kind of thing, so this will be fun.
- 33:27Dayna Roselli: Evil Pie, Black Lagoon, October 4th through November 1st.
- 33:32Dayna Roselli: Uh, heads up if you want to head up there.
- 33:34Dayna Roselli: There's some other things happening in downtown too, centered around Halloween, which we'll talk about as it gets closer.
- 33:39Dayna Roselli: We don't want to be like big lots.
- 33:40Sean McAllister: No, we're gonna wait.
- 33:41Sean McAllister: We'll wait until it's actually fall, until the calendar says fall has begun.
- 33:47Sean McAllister: Right.
- 33:47Sean McAllister: But I like that they're doing this.
- 33:48Sean McAllister: We see uh this type of pop-up um around the Christmas season.
- 33:54Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 33:54Sean McAllister: So I think it's kind of cool that they're doing this for Halloween as well.
- 33:58Sean McAllister: That is episode 234 of Vegas Revealed.
- 34:02Sean McAllister: As always, uh, we want to thank all of you who listen.
- 34:06Sean McAllister: A huge thank you to our uh Vegas Revealed subscribers who uh help financially support the show.
- 34:13Sean McAllister: If you would like to be a subscriber, there's a link down in our show notes.
- 34:18Dayna Roselli: That's right.
- 34:19Dayna Roselli: And you can just uh donate.
- 34:20Dayna Roselli: Next week, I'm heading to a Raiders training camp in the evening.
- 34:25Dayna Roselli: It's a six o'clock training camp because they've been doing it out of Las Vegas, and they're doing actually, I think one is today the 14th when we're recording this.
- 34:33Dayna Roselli: Yeah, um, they're they're doing one tonight, and then they're doing one on August 20th.
- 34:36Dayna Roselli: I'm gonna go to that.
- 34:37Dayna Roselli: You're gonna go see company at the Smith Center, which will be great.
- 34:40Sean McAllister: Yeah, the Steven Sondheim Classic.
- 34:42Sean McAllister: They're doing a run of shows over at the Smith Center.
- 34:45Sean McAllister: Looking forward to that for sure.
- 34:47Dayna Roselli: And then this weekend, I think we have on the agenda, and so we might have this interview for you next week, that we're gonna go ahead to the palms and celebrate Rick Springfield's 75th birthday.
- 34:56Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 34:57Dayna Roselli: I can't believe Rick's turning 75.
- 35:00Sean McAllister: I know.
- 35:01Dayna Roselli: So he looks fantastic.
- 35:03Dayna Roselli: Everyone loves Rick.
- 35:04Dayna Roselli: Even when I was at at that Debbie show, people had seen Rick there at Del Lago, I don't know, that month or a few months before or whatever, and saying he puts on a fantastic show.
- 35:13Dayna Roselli: He's done a bunch of shows here.
- 35:14Dayna Roselli: I think he will again.
- 35:16Dayna Roselli: And so I interviewed him over at um, oh, that was another Keep Memory Alive Red Carpet.
- 35:20Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 35:21Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 35:21Dayna Roselli: Yeah, one of the red carpets.
- 35:22Dayna Roselli: So I look forward to to running into Rick.
- 35:24Dayna Roselli: Um, we plan to be there as long as our schedule aligns.
- 35:27Dayna Roselli: So hopefully we'll have that for you next week.
- 35:29Sean McAllister: Thank you for joining us this week.
- 35:31Sean McAllister: And thank you to our sponsors, uh Level Up Law.
- 35:36Sean McAllister: If you need legal advice, if you want to even just find out if you have a case, they'll help you explore that.
- 35:43Sean McAllister: Give them a call, 855 Level Up.
- 35:46Dayna Roselli: Yeah, because I always feel like that's the question, right?
- 35:48Dayna Roselli: You're like, I don't know, do I have a case?
- 35:49Sean McAllister: Exactly.
- 35:50Sean McAllister: And they'll walk you through it for free.
- 35:52Dayna Roselli: It's great.
- 35:52Dayna Roselli: They're great, great staff over there.
- 35:54Dayna Roselli: So give them a call for sure, or check them out online.
- 35:58Sean McAllister: Also, the Vegas Near Me app, you can find it on the Google Play Store, also in the Apple App Store.
- 36:06Sean McAllister: Um, it is your guide to all things to see and do here in Las Vegas.
- 36:13Sean McAllister: They've got some money-saving deals inside the app as well.
