- 0:00Speaker 1: This is 710WOR, where the Mark Simone Show starts now.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Oh, God, I can't believe it's Monday. Hey, it's Monday.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Welcome to the show.
- 0:13Speaker 3: We got a great show for you today.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Lots to get to today. Now, this coming weekend, there's
- 0:22Speaker 2: a lot going on this weekend. Now, it's Halloween, Saturday night.
- 0:27Speaker 2: Sunday morning, it's the New York Marathon that's going to
- 0:30Speaker 2: screw up all the traffic all over New York. And
- 0:33Speaker 2: then Sunday night. Oh, no, wait a minute. It's Saturday night.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Saturday night, Sunday morning is when we go off daylight
- 0:41Speaker 2: saving time. So Sunday is going to be bad. It's
- 0:45Speaker 2: going to be dark out like at 430, 445, 5
- 0:51Speaker 2: o'clock maybe. So it's a big weekend. You got Halloween.
- 0:54Speaker 2: As soon as you get home. You'll get an extra
- 0:57Speaker 2: hour because you set your clock back. And then you'll
- 1:00Speaker 2: wake up Sunday morning. New York City Marathon will be
- 1:02Speaker 2: all over the place in all five boroughs. So don't
- 1:07Speaker 2: think of driving into New York on Sunday. But a
- 1:10Speaker 2: lot happening in between now and the weekend. You got
- 1:13Speaker 2: elections in Israel tomorrow. Too close to call. Netanyahu, who
- 1:20Speaker 2: knows what could happen. He's up for reelection tomorrow. And
- 1:24Speaker 2: then our election, midterm election, the gubernatorial election, eight days
- 1:29Speaker 2: from now, eight days from now, it's very close. Blakeman, Hochul,
- 1:34Speaker 2: it's deadlocked. It's tied. This will all be about turnout.
- 1:38Speaker 2: If Republicans turn out, if you like Blakeman, and everybody
- 1:41Speaker 2: here does, you got to turn out. You got to vote.
- 1:44Speaker 2: And you know what? Do it today or tomorrow. Do
- 1:47Speaker 2: early voting. One thing about Democrats, they're great at early voting.
- 1:52Speaker 2: Democrats come out in Huge numbers to early vote. For
- 1:56Speaker 2: whatever reason, Republicans are still in the habit of waiting
- 1:59Speaker 2: until Election Day. Early vote. It's much easier. If you
- 2:03Speaker 2: do the early voting, when you get there, there won't
- 2:05Speaker 2: be a line. It'll be much. You'll just sail right through.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Early voting. A lot of people did it Saturday. You
- 2:10Speaker 2: can do it all week long. Any day this week,
- 2:13Speaker 2: do the early voting. Again, it's all about turnout. You know,
- 2:16Speaker 2: when you say, well, a Republican can't win. Yeah, a
- 2:18Speaker 2: Republican can win easily if you turn out. If there's turnout.
- 2:23Speaker 2: The final week. Of the election, there's going to be
- 2:27Speaker 2: a lot of things going on. Bruce Blakeman now spending
- 2:30Speaker 2: $ 400, 000 a day. Campaign getting very serious. Hochul running around
- 2:37Speaker 2: all over the place to rally with Mamdani. Blakeman pointing out,
- 2:42Speaker 2: I would love to, she just appeared with Mamdani every day.
- 2:47Speaker 2: Just link yourself more and more to Mamdani. Blakeman will be,
- 2:50Speaker 2: Bruce Blakeman will be with us later in the show.
- 2:53Speaker 2: But go vote for him. Do it now. Do it
- 2:55Speaker 2: in the early voting. Don't wait till Election Day. And
- 2:59Speaker 2: don't forget this Attorney General's race. You've got this crazy,
- 3:02Speaker 2: awful Attorney General, Letitia James, who Hochul assigns her to
- 3:07Speaker 2: the Cornell case, which makes no sense at all. Letitia
- 3:11Speaker 2: James has no experience as a prosecutor. She's never handled
- 3:16Speaker 2: a criminal case. She did go to law school, but
- 3:20Speaker 2: her whole career before attorney general was cheap politics. She
- 3:23Speaker 2: was on the city council. She was the public advocate
- 3:26Speaker 2: in New York City. That's basically a no-show job. So
- 3:28Speaker 2: she's got no experience prosecuting anything. And she has finally
- 3:34Speaker 2: realized she can't handle a case like this. So she's
- 3:37Speaker 2: looking for a prosecutor. She can't do it. She knows
- 3:40Speaker 2: she's not qualified or competent. So they've narrowed it down
- 3:44Speaker 2: to a couple of choices. They'll hire a professional prosecutor.
- 3:47Speaker 2: prosecutor to run the Cornell case for the state of
- 3:51Speaker 2: New York. So a lot of stuff going on campaign-wise
- 3:56Speaker 2: all weekend. President Trump out there campaigning, working a brutal schedule.
- 4:02Speaker 2: Every day he flies to another state. Every afternoon he
- 4:07Speaker 2: gets on an airplane and flies to another state. I'm
- 4:11Speaker 2: looking for today's schedule. I forget where he's going. I
- 4:14Speaker 2: can't even keep track of it. I can't even remember
- 4:16Speaker 2: where he's going. Let's see later today. Mississippi. He's going
- 4:21Speaker 2: to Mississippi later today. The weekend, he was in Florida.
- 4:25Speaker 2: He was in Georgia. He was in three or four states.
- 4:29Speaker 2: I can't even remember them all, but it's a brutal schedule. Michigan, Al-Sayed, Ohio.
- 4:35Speaker 2: You've got to remember something. These fake polls, the media polls,
- 4:40Speaker 2: the college polls, they're all fake polls. And they have
- 4:43Speaker 2: one mission, and that's to keep Republicans home. Make sure
- 4:46Speaker 2: they don't go out. Discourage them. Make them feel like
- 4:49Speaker 2: the election's over. There's no point in voting. They're called
- 4:52Speaker 2: suppression polls. That's why they do it. So when you
- 4:58Speaker 2: keep hearing, Blakeman has no chance. He's 20 points behind.
- 5:02Speaker 2: It's supposed to make you stay home. The fact is,
- 5:05Speaker 2: in the real polls, Blakeman and Hochul are deadlocked. They're tied.
- 5:09Speaker 2: So get out there and vote. You can make the difference.
- 5:12Speaker 2: And these college polls are absolutely ridiculous. Quinnipiac, that last
- 5:16Speaker 2: poll they put out last week on Blakeman and Hochul
- 5:18Speaker 2: was so ridiculous. They had Republicans at 20% of the sample.
- 5:24Speaker 2: It was just a sample of Democrats. And they didn't
- 5:26Speaker 2: use voter rolls. Nobody knows who the hell they surveyed.
- 5:31Speaker 2: And Quinnipiac, as our friend Larry Kudlow points out, Go
- 5:35Speaker 2: study the whole history of Quinnipiac. They've never had a
- 5:37Speaker 2: Republican in the lead anywhere for anything ever at Quinnipiac.
- 5:40Speaker 2: It's the most biased, slanted, ridiculous suppression poll ever. So
- 5:46Speaker 2: ignore the polls. They don't mean anything. Get out and vote.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Michigan is a tough thing for Al-Sayed. He is not
- 5:54Speaker 2: too successful with the black voters. Black voters are a
- 5:57Speaker 2: huge part of the electorate in Michigan. So if you
- 6:00Speaker 2: happen to I don't need traction with them. And you're
- 6:03Speaker 2: a Democrat. You're in real trouble. Ohio, they had everybody.
- 6:09Speaker 2: Obama was in Ohio trying to rescue Sherrod Brown and
- 6:12Speaker 2: the other Democrat candidates. Now, Ramaswami is running against Amy Acton.
- 6:19Speaker 2: Ramaswami is the one that got Amy Acton's mother to
- 6:23Speaker 2: do a commercial denouncing her own daughter, saying she's a liar.
- 6:27Speaker 2: She's always lied. You can't trust her. She can't even
- 6:29Speaker 2: help herself. How is she going to help you? So
- 6:32Speaker 2: Democrats went crazy. This crossed a line. This is out
- 6:35Speaker 2: of bounds. This is inappropriate. Even these fake Sunday shows
- 6:39Speaker 2: yesterday on the networks, the fake Sunday shows, the totally
- 6:44Speaker 2: corrupt Meet the Press, Kirsten Welker. I'm just so happy
- 6:48Speaker 2: my old friend Tim Russert isn't alive to see what
- 6:51Speaker 2: they did to his show. So she does a whole
- 6:53Speaker 2: segment on how having a candidate's relative, using them as
- 6:58Speaker 2: a political pawn to denounce the candidate. is so inappropriate.
- 7:03Speaker 2: It crosses a line. She forgets. They did it on
- 7:06Speaker 2: Meet the Press. You remember Trump had that crazy cousin, niece,
- 7:09Speaker 2: what are the nieces, Mary Trump? They had her on everywhere.
- 7:13Speaker 2: On Meet the Press, they had her on every NBC, everything.
- 7:17Speaker 2: MSNBC had her on 24-7. They had her on to
- 7:20Speaker 2: denounce Trump. Remember when RFK Jr. was running? They had
- 7:26Speaker 2: everybody in his family, the whole Kennedy family, would record
- 7:28Speaker 2: commercials denouncing him. So this is a Democrat tactic. They've
- 7:32Speaker 2: used it constantly. But this is the double standard Democrats
- 7:39Speaker 2: are famous for. So Ramaswamy had to respond to all this.
- 7:42Speaker 4: These people are lying to you, but I trust you
- 7:45Speaker 4: to see through it. We ran an ad about Trump.
- 7:49Speaker 5: Lying.
- 7:50Speaker 4: Amy Acton is lying. She has been lying this entire
- 7:53Speaker 4: campaign about me, about her record, about her history in
- 7:57Speaker 4: this state. The irony is they're lying about an ad
- 8:01Speaker 4: that is about lying. That is the truth of the matter.
- 8:05Speaker 4: It had nothing to do with childhood abuse, which I
- 8:08Speaker 4: will be the number one governor to prosecute when I
- 8:10Speaker 4: am the governor of this state because it is wrong,
- 8:12Speaker 4: and we together will fight against that.
- 8:15Speaker 2: Yeah, his whole campaign is that Amy Acton is lying,
- 8:17Speaker 2: that she's lying about this, lying about that. She's always lying.
- 8:19Speaker 2: So if you can get her mother, and they didn't
- 8:24Speaker 2: know about the mother until the mother started doing public
- 8:27Speaker 2: appearances speaking about how much her daughter is a liar.
- 8:30Speaker 2: So that's when they asked her to do the commercial.
- 8:32Speaker 2: But it's a tactic that Democrats have used many, many, many,
- 8:36Speaker 2: many times. In fact, when Trump had a relative denouncing him,
- 8:40Speaker 2: they put her all over television. They put her in ads.
- 8:42Speaker 2: They put her on interviews. They put her on every show.
- 8:45Speaker 2: Rachel Maddow would do a whole hour with her. So
- 8:48Speaker 2: it's their tactic, and all of a sudden it's wrong.
- 8:52Speaker 2: Obama was all over the place campaigning like crazy. You
- 8:56Speaker 2: could see he's a great speaker. He's a great orator,
- 9:00Speaker 2: one of the best in America. So you could see
- 9:03Speaker 2: he felt cooped up. You know, a guy that's that
- 9:05Speaker 2: good at that wants to get out there. It's like
- 9:08Speaker 2: a racehorse. He can't just sit in the stable. He's
- 9:10Speaker 2: got to go out there and run, and that's Obama.
- 9:12Speaker 2: You could see he was dying to get back out
- 9:13Speaker 2: on the, campaign trail that's what you.
- 9:15Speaker 5: Get a chance to do in 10 days.
- 9:19Speaker 6: After two years of chaos and cruelty and corruption.
- 9:28Speaker 2: By the way you notice uh when obama normally speaks
- 9:31Speaker 2: he's a highly educated ivy league guy normally sounds like
- 9:33Speaker 2: demosthenes but uh when he's speaking in the Midwest, all
- 9:37Speaker 2: of a sudden he's got this Midwest Southern kind of accent.
- 9:41Speaker 2: All of a sudden he loses the Ivy League sound.
- 9:43Speaker 7: Confidence, the likes of which we have not seen in
- 9:49Speaker 7: modern times.
- 9:50Speaker 5: You get a chance to say enough's enough.
- 9:53Speaker 8: Yeah. All right.
- 9:54Speaker 2: Now he had some good moments. He had some good moments.
- 9:58Speaker 2: This wasn't bad. Take a listen to this. What's up
- 10:01Speaker 2: with the gold? Oh, we're missing the first part. This
- 10:08Speaker 2: was pretty good. Whoever wrote this for me said, you're
- 10:11Speaker 2: going through a litany of what President Trump is wrong
- 10:13Speaker 2: about on the issues. And then he said, I don't
- 10:15Speaker 2: think he's focused. He seems to spend all his time
- 10:18Speaker 2: on home renovations. He should be on Home and Garden television.
- 10:23Speaker 2: All right, that wasn't bad. He's building a ballroom. He's
- 10:26Speaker 2: building a rose garden. He's building now a helipad. He
- 10:31Speaker 2: forgot to mention the ballroom is badly needed. Many presidents
- 10:35Speaker 2: have talked about that. They don't have a room where
- 10:36Speaker 2: they can throw a big event at the White House.
- 10:39Speaker 2: In the past, they've had to set up a tent
- 10:42Speaker 2: out on the lawn. So world leaders who are, their
- 10:47Speaker 2: events are in, palaces. World leaders would come here for
- 10:49Speaker 2: a major event at the White House, and they'd be
- 10:52Speaker 2: sitting on the grass in a tent like it was
- 10:55Speaker 2: a bar mitzvah out in Long Island. And the helipad
- 11:00Speaker 2: was badly needed. You know, Trump's a great builder. So
- 11:03Speaker 2: as he's in the White House, he's watching all the
- 11:06Speaker 2: crap that goes on there. Do you know when that
- 11:08Speaker 2: helicopter would land? It's not a regular helicopter. It's an enormous,
- 11:13Speaker 2: extremely heavy military helicopter with these military engines that produce
- 11:17Speaker 2: a tremendous amount of heat. They would just burn the
- 11:20Speaker 2: grass right up and crush the grass when it landed.
- 11:24Speaker 2: So what they would do is, uh, you ever noticed
- 11:27Speaker 2: when the, that Marine one comes down, it doesn't come
- 11:29Speaker 2: right down smoothly. It jerks around a little. Well, that
- 11:33Speaker 2: was because what they had to do is put these
- 11:35Speaker 2: big steel plates out on the lawn, four of them,
- 11:38Speaker 2: one for each wheel. And then the, uh, So it
- 11:42Speaker 2: wouldn't tear up the grass and destroy the grass. So
- 11:44Speaker 2: the helicopter had to aim carefully and move around, jerk
- 11:47Speaker 2: around a little to hit those plates. And Trump looked
- 11:49Speaker 2: at this as crazy. Build a helipad. So he built
- 11:53Speaker 2: a big, huge granite helipad. And the Rose Garden, the
- 11:58Speaker 2: same thing. It was on grass. They'd have these events
- 12:02Speaker 2: all the time in the Rose Garden. Sometimes it rained.
- 12:04Speaker 2: Sometimes it was muddy. And then Every time after the event,
- 12:09Speaker 2: 200 people trampled on the grass, it was a mess afterwards.
- 12:13Speaker 2: So he put a beautiful, beautiful stone out there. It's
- 12:17Speaker 2: a beautiful deck. So it was all great. Obama's totally wrong.
- 12:24Speaker 2: On this part coming up, he might not be wrong
- 12:26Speaker 2: about this. The way he redecorated the Oval Office, it
- 12:30Speaker 2: is a little crazy. It's nice to put a few
- 12:34Speaker 2: more paintings up, but not 250 paintings on the walls.
- 12:38Speaker 2: And the gold trim was a very good idea, but
- 12:41Speaker 2: not every inch of every wall. It's a little Liberace-ish.
- 12:44Speaker 2: So Obama may have been right here. What's up with
- 12:48Speaker 2: the gold?
- 12:52Speaker 6: I mean, he's got the White House looking like Saddam
- 12:56Speaker 6: Hussein opened a cheesecake factory.
- 12:58Speaker 9: It's just gold everywhere.
- 13:03Speaker 2: Okay, that was good, except it caused him two problems.
- 13:06Speaker 2: Obama now has two problems. One, Everybody pointing out online
- 13:10Speaker 2: that he is no position to talk about Trump's decorating
- 13:13Speaker 2: skill because he, Obama, is the guy that just built
- 13:18Speaker 2: the single ugliest building in the history of America, Obama's
- 13:23Speaker 2: presidential library, considered literally the ugliest building ever built. There
- 13:29Speaker 2: are neighbors who live near that park who are suing
- 13:32Speaker 2: because it's such an eyesore. So that's problem number one.
- 13:38Speaker 2: Problem number two, when he said it looks like Saddam
- 13:42Speaker 2: Hussein built a cheesecake factory, a lot of people, especially
- 13:47Speaker 2: in the Midwest, they took that the wrong way. He's
- 13:53Speaker 2: demeaning the cheesecake factory like it's some junky little place.
- 13:56Speaker 2: It's a tacky place. Well, to people outside of the
- 14:00Speaker 2: elite D.C., Manhattan circles, Cheesecake Factory is a wonderful place.
- 14:06Speaker 2: It's not just even a regular place. It's like a
- 14:09Speaker 2: special place. A lot of people, it's like something you
- 14:12Speaker 2: save up for. It's like a big event to go
- 14:13Speaker 2: to the Cheesecake Factory. Obama, the elitist, Ivy League elitist,
- 14:18Speaker 2: wouldn't know that. So that has cost him a little
- 14:22Speaker 2: in the Midwest. But he went on and on about
- 14:24Speaker 2: the crowd. People are so ready for something new.
- 14:28Speaker 3: So hungry for something better.
- 14:32Speaker 2: So sick and tired of being sick and.
- 14:34Speaker 10: Tired that everywhere you go, it feels like change is
- 14:38Speaker 10: in the air.
- 14:40Speaker 2: And Michigan, that's what I'm feeling right now.
- 14:44Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 14:44Speaker 8: I see.
- 14:44Speaker 3: Does that fake voice that I'm feeling y'all I'm feeling, uh,
- 14:49Speaker 3: you know, he thinks that, yeah, you got to talk
- 14:51Speaker 3: to these people. Then, uh, he gets back on the
- 14:54Speaker 3: plane and says to the guys, what a bunch of
- 14:56Speaker 3: rubes down there. So, uh, we'll see if it helped.
- 14:59Speaker 3: We'll see if it helped.
- 15:00Speaker 2: Uh, again, uh, You need the black vote in Michigan.
- 15:03Speaker 2: It's a huge part of the population. And Al-Sayed is
- 15:07Speaker 2: not successful with the black vote. So that's one reason
- 15:10Speaker 2: Obama was there to see. But he didn't, I don't
- 15:14Speaker 2: know if he really helped because he just ran down
- 15:16Speaker 2: everything he hates about Trump instead of promoting Al-Sayed. He
- 15:20Speaker 2: was very careful not to promote Al-Sayed. And he was
- 15:23Speaker 2: very careful not to directly address black voters, which is
- 15:26Speaker 2: the whole reason he's there, to get them out. So
- 15:29Speaker 2: I don't know how much good he did. You can
- 15:31Speaker 2: see he was enjoying himself. President Trump just put out
- 15:35Speaker 2: a truth social. I think the longest one he's ever
- 15:37Speaker 2: put out. It's 1,300 words. It's not a tweet. It's
- 15:42Speaker 2: like a magazine article. It's all denouncing Bill Maher. Now,
- 15:47Speaker 2: I don't know exactly why Bill Maher had his second
- 15:51Speaker 2: dinner at the White House and then on his Friday
- 15:53Speaker 2: night show, he said some nice things about Trump. He said,
- 15:56Speaker 2: you know, when When you get into the White House,
- 15:58Speaker 2: he's a really nice, gracious guy. You can say whatever
- 16:02Speaker 2: you want to him. He doesn't pull rank on you.
- 16:04Speaker 2: He listens. And they said it went on for a
- 16:06Speaker 2: couple of hours. You remember there was this old myth,
- 16:09Speaker 2: Democrats kept pushing this myth. He said, no, he doesn't listen.
- 16:12Speaker 2: He never listens to anybody. Well, you listen to Maher
- 16:14Speaker 2: and Stephen A. Smith. They said they talked to him
- 16:16Speaker 2: for two, three hours and he listened very intently. But
- 16:20Speaker 2: I don't know, something, Trump didn't like some of the
- 16:22Speaker 2: things Maher said on Friday night. So I can't even
- 16:25Speaker 2: read you this thing. It's like way too long. It
- 16:27Speaker 2: goes on It's like pages, this Truth Social, about how
- 16:31Speaker 2: Maher's a loser, an idiot, a loser with a very
- 16:34Speaker 2: low-rated show. Well, that's true. On a very low-rated network. Okay, well,
- 16:38Speaker 2: that's true. HBO, once great. Okay, that's true. There's a
- 16:44Speaker 2: guy who's like one of the showrunners who runs the
- 16:47Speaker 2: Bill Maher show behind the scenes. He had been on
- 16:50Speaker 2: The Apprentice. In fact, his work on The Apprentice, and
- 16:53Speaker 2: Trump points out, The Apprentice became a big number one show,
- 16:56Speaker 2: so everybody on the show went on to big careers.
- 16:59Speaker 2: That's how this guy got to be with Bill Maher.
- 17:02Speaker 2: So he has a relationship with Trump. Trump says, this
- 17:06Speaker 2: is the guy that kept calling and calling and calling,
- 17:08Speaker 2: begging Trump to have Bill Maher back, that Bill Maher
- 17:11Speaker 2: wanted another dinner. He was begging and begging. Now, this
- 17:14Speaker 2: is Trump's version. Who knows if it's really true? But
- 17:17Speaker 2: then he said, this part may not be wrong. He said,
- 17:21Speaker 2: Maher's got a lot of problems. He's a mess. He
- 17:23Speaker 2: wanted a drink. As soon as he got there, he
- 17:25Speaker 2: walked around with a drink the whole time. He looked
- 17:28Speaker 2: a little drunk. He's a pothead. He's not entirely wrong
- 17:35Speaker 2: about this, but he said, I learned nothing from him.
- 17:37Speaker 2: It was a total waste of time. It's just basically
- 17:39Speaker 2: a long denouncement of Bill Maher. I don't know what
- 17:42Speaker 2: set this off. Bill Maher had Caroline Leavitt, the press secretary,
- 17:46Speaker 2: on Friday night who defended Trump. I guess Trump Didn't
- 17:51Speaker 2: like the fact that Maher kept attacking him with her.
- 17:53Speaker 2: And he kept pushing all the Democratic myths. There was
- 17:57Speaker 2: this Democratic rumor that he was going to tear out
- 18:01Speaker 2: the press room and bring the White House pool back.
- 18:04Speaker 2: And he said that was never, ever, ever, ever thought of, discussed.
- 18:08Speaker 2: There was never any thought of that. It's just a
- 18:09Speaker 2: Democratic lie. Why was he repeating it? Which makes sense.
- 18:13Speaker 2: He does want to move the press out of the
- 18:15Speaker 2: main building to another building, but He's not a big swimmer.
- 18:19Speaker 2: In fact, the number of times he's been swimming in
- 18:21Speaker 2: his life is zero, zero. So he's not a guy
- 18:27Speaker 2: that's going to put a pool in the middle of
- 18:29Speaker 2: the White House. And nobody really uses it there. If
- 18:32Speaker 2: you had young kids, maybe, but they don't. We got
- 18:35Speaker 2: a lot to get to. So don't move. We'll get
- 18:38Speaker 2: to a whole lot more. We'll get to Sean Hannity.
- 18:40Speaker 2: That guy got married over the weekend. In fact, as
- 18:44Speaker 2: a result, I got to do his show today. He's
- 18:46Speaker 2: on a honeymoon. So We'll get to that and more
- 18:49Speaker 2: coming up. Mark Simone, three hours every day, nine to noon,
- 18:53Speaker 2: nine to noon every day on 710WOR.
- 18:57Speaker 1: Mark Simone, live from the WOR LifeVac studios.
- 19:04Speaker 2: Well, hey, we forgot to get to Europe. France, the
- 19:08Speaker 2: protests going crazy this weekend. And they're spreading out throughout Europe.
- 19:14Speaker 2: It happened in Spain, in Portugal, Albania. Italy, protesters stormed
- 19:20Speaker 2: the Colosseum in Rome, waving Palestinian flags, by the way.
- 19:28Speaker 2: They were all over the streets of Milan, Turin, and
- 19:32Speaker 2: other cities to protest, supposedly, the current cost of living.
- 19:36Speaker 2: That was the students originally. Now it's the war in Gaza.
- 19:39Speaker 2: And if you look through the protests and they're seeing,
- 19:41Speaker 2: there's professional protest agitator groups in there. There's all kinds
- 19:45Speaker 2: of Muslim extremist groups in there. These are all people
- 19:49Speaker 2: that want to just destroy the culture and the government
- 19:51Speaker 2: and the uh the it's basically all of they don't
- 19:55Speaker 2: like france they don't like italy they don't like italy's
- 19:57Speaker 2: culture its monuments all they want to tear it all
- 20:00Speaker 2: down uh everybody's been warning europe for years stop letting
- 20:04Speaker 2: these people in the country there they want to destroy
- 20:07Speaker 2: your country Luckily, the Colosseum had upped their security ahead
- 20:11Speaker 2: of the protest, had a lot of security there. They
- 20:14Speaker 2: were able to hold them back. In Milan, protesters dumped
- 20:19Speaker 2: manure outside the country's energy regulator and burned an oversized
- 20:26Speaker 2: electricity bill. Now, Milan is the fashion capital.
- 20:31Speaker 8: Of the world.
- 20:31Speaker 2: It's a city that's basically fashion, manufacturing clothes, And stores.
- 20:36Speaker 2: It's the greatest shopping city in the world, Milan, for clothing.
- 20:41Speaker 2: So many stores had boarded up their windows, had guards everywhere,
- 20:47Speaker 2: but it's all boarded up. I mean, it's just terrible
- 20:50Speaker 2: what happened in Milan. Also Milan, they've got the beautiful Duomo,
- 20:53Speaker 2: the church that went after that. Italian Prime Minister Maloney
- 20:56Speaker 2: sent about 500 soldiers to Milan to assist 5,000 officers
- 21:01Speaker 2: already deployed. An absolute mess in Europe. Hey, by the way,
- 21:06Speaker 2: Elon Musk was accused of throttling down the Starlink so
- 21:13Speaker 2: that Ukraine couldn't use its drones. And then the fake
- 21:17Speaker 2: news went crazy, spreading all kinds of nonsense. One was
- 21:20Speaker 2: that President Trump shut down the Starlink, throttled it down,
- 21:23Speaker 2: took down the speed. And then he said, absolutely not.
- 21:28Speaker 2: And Musk said, we have nothing to do with, there's
- 21:31Speaker 2: a military version of it, a military version. called Space
- 21:36Speaker 2: Shield or something like that. So Musk tweeted out, it's
- 21:39Speaker 2: totally under the control of the military and President Trump.
- 21:42Speaker 2: I had nothing to do with it. Well, it turns
- 21:44Speaker 2: out Ukraine wasn't using the military version. They were using
- 21:47Speaker 2: the regular Starlink to guide their drones and control their drones.
- 21:53Speaker 2: And that was throttled down. It slowed down. So Musk
- 21:56Speaker 2: then saying he didn't do it. Fake news, of course,
- 21:58Speaker 2: declaring he did it. Trump did it. It was a
- 22:00Speaker 2: massive conspiracy. So it looks like what happened, Musk is
- 22:04Speaker 2: now confirming it did slow down. It did throttle itself down. But,
- 22:10Speaker 2: and software engineers were saying this all along, but Musk
- 22:12Speaker 2: now confirming it. What happened was, if you're going to
- 22:16Speaker 2: do something crazy like bomb places with drones and have
- 22:19Speaker 2: them going 150 miles an hour, Starlink does not allow that.
- 22:24Speaker 2: They do sell a military version. You have to buy
- 22:28Speaker 2: the military version and do it there. But Ukraine was
- 22:31Speaker 2: using the regular Starlink. And apparently, and of course software
- 22:36Speaker 2: engineers have confirmed this, built into the Starlink system is
- 22:40Speaker 2: certain software to watch out for bugs. So if it
- 22:46Speaker 2: sees anybody using Starlink for any odd purpose, like controlling
- 22:51Speaker 2: drones at 150 miles an hour, it'll throttle down their
- 22:55Speaker 2: account so they can't do it. So apparently what Ukraine
- 22:58Speaker 2: was doing totally violates Starlink's terms of service. And nobody
- 23:03Speaker 2: ordered it slowed down. The software has protections in it
- 23:07Speaker 2: that will automatically throttle you down if you're doing something
- 23:10Speaker 2: violating terms of service. You see that everywhere. You know,
- 23:14Speaker 2: if you do something against what you're supposed to do
- 23:17Speaker 2: on Twitter, they will throttle down your account. So it
- 23:20Speaker 2: suddenly goes to nobody. Or Facebook, if you do something wrong,
- 23:23Speaker 2: you're getting violations automatically. your account suddenly will not go anywhere.
- 23:27Speaker 2: They'll just throttle it down. SpaceX, when they found out,
- 23:31Speaker 2: when they were told, sped it back up, but told Ukraine,
- 23:34Speaker 2: stop using the civilian version for that purpose. That's not
- 23:37Speaker 2: what it's for. So we got a lot to get to.
- 23:40Speaker 2: We'll take some calls coming up. And it's Monday. Lots
- 23:43Speaker 2: of stuff to talk about today. Mark Simone here. Three
- 23:46Speaker 2: hours every day. 9 to noon, three hours every day
- 23:50Speaker 2: on 710WOR.
- 23:52Speaker 8: Mr.
- 23:52Speaker 1: New York.
- 23:54Speaker 2: Mark Simone.
- 23:55Speaker 1: Now three hours every weekday from 9 till noon on 710WOR.
- 24:02Speaker 3: Hey, if like me, you're all stuffed up and a
- 24:05Speaker 3: little drowsy, it's allergies.
- 24:08Speaker 2: It's really bad. This is a bad allergy time, believe
- 24:11Speaker 2: it or not. This week, I'm looking at the... Let
- 24:13Speaker 2: me see. Ragweed pollen is way up. Grass pollen is
- 24:16Speaker 2: way up. Air quality is poor, extremely poor right now.
- 24:21Speaker 2: So just bear that in mind. Sunset tonight, 6 p.m.
- 24:24Speaker 2: 6 p.m. But we're going on daylight saving time. We're
- 24:29Speaker 2: going off daylight saving time Saturday, so it'll be 5 p.m. Actually,
- 24:34Speaker 2: by next week, it'll be like 445. It'll be dark
- 24:37Speaker 2: out starting Sunday. That's going to be horrible. Elon Omar,
- 24:41Speaker 2: it looks more and more like they got her on
- 24:45Speaker 2: marrying her brother. There's an old tweet where she talks
- 24:48Speaker 2: about her father or his father, and it turns out
- 24:52Speaker 2: he has the same exact last name as her father.
- 24:55Speaker 2: It's the same guy. So this is an old tweet
- 24:58Speaker 2: which she deleted a long time ago when this controversy
- 25:02Speaker 2: arose about her marrying her brother. She took down that tweet,
- 25:06Speaker 2: not realizing, you know, being a bubblehead, Omar not that smart.
- 25:09Speaker 2: Not realizing you can delete it off your Twitter account,
- 25:12Speaker 2: but it's still there on servers. Justice Department has recovered it.
- 25:17Speaker 2: So people don't realize you can delete the emails all
- 25:19Speaker 2: you want. You can delete everything. You can delete your
- 25:21Speaker 2: whole computer, but it's still on a server. It can
- 25:25Speaker 2: be recovered. And it was. So I'm watching those Sunday shows.
- 25:33Speaker 2: Whenever Mike Rogers, he was on all the Sunday shows.
- 25:35Speaker 2: He was great, by the way. Whenever he'd talk about Al-Sayed,
- 25:39Speaker 2: his ties to Muslim Brotherhood, the anchors would jump in
- 25:44Speaker 2: and start yelling, you have no evidence, without evidence. He
- 25:46Speaker 2: claimed without evidence. What evidence? There's no evidence of that. Well,
- 25:51Speaker 2: there's no evidence anywhere of any of these claims they
- 25:53Speaker 2: make about President Trump. If you watch the Sunday shows,
- 25:56Speaker 2: everything they tell you about, he's going to get rid
- 25:59Speaker 2: of the press room, bring the White House pool back.
- 26:01Speaker 2: Susie Wiles is getting fired. There's never any evidence of
- 26:05Speaker 2: anything they say, which is why They're always wrong in
- 26:08Speaker 2: the end. Let's take some calls. Let's go to Max
- 26:11Speaker 2: in Manhattan. Max, how you doing?
- 26:14Speaker 11: Mark, thank you for taking my call. Let's not forget
- 26:17Speaker 11: about Morrissey, the former president of Egypt, who was a
- 26:20Speaker 11: Muslim Brotherhood participant. He wanted to get rid of some
- 26:24Speaker 11: big members of the police force, and he asked Syed
- 26:28Speaker 11: to sign this bill.
- 26:30Speaker 2: That's a good point. Syed, back then, signed this thing,
- 26:33Speaker 2: and he urged Morrissey to get rid of the press
- 26:36Speaker 2: and the police, and then there was a vicious wipeout
- 26:40Speaker 2: of both, and Al-Sayed was behind that. You know, he's
- 26:43Speaker 2: got a history of this. His family's got a history
- 26:45Speaker 2: of Muslim Brotherhood, which is officially a terrorist organization in
- 26:49Speaker 2: many countries. But if you're watching the Sunday shows, you
- 26:53Speaker 2: wouldn't know any of this because they kept covering it up,
- 26:55Speaker 2: and every time Rogers tried to bring it up, they'd
- 26:58Speaker 2: start talking over him, yelling at him, screaming at him.
- 27:00Speaker 2: Let's go to Mike in Florida. Mike, how you doing?
- 27:04Speaker 8: Good morning, Mark.
- 27:06Speaker 2: Yes, Mike.
- 27:08Speaker 12: The Al-Sayed story with Rogers and the Vivek Ramaswamy story
- 27:13Speaker 12: are very closely related because it shows a couple of
- 27:16Speaker 12: the different cards that Democrats like to play that they
- 27:18Speaker 12: hold in their hands when they have to. One is
- 27:20Speaker 12: the moral outrage card that they played against Vivek Ramaswamy.
- 27:25Speaker 12: How dare he run such an unseemly act. By the way,
- 27:28Speaker 12: this is the same party that Harry Reid accused Mitt
- 27:31Speaker 12: Romney of not paying his taxes and when he was
- 27:33Speaker 12: asked about it, he smugly said, it worked, didn't it?
- 27:37Speaker 12: And then in the same thing, you know, with the
- 27:39Speaker 12: Mike Rogers story, you know, they keep calling him an
- 27:42Speaker 12: Islamophobe and they call Trump a racist. And it's a
- 27:45Speaker 12: couple of cards they love to play. And it's all,
- 27:48Speaker 12: like you point out, it just, it highlights how hypocritical
- 27:53Speaker 12: they are because they're all phonies about it.
- 27:55Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 27:56Speaker 2: Good point, Mike. Thanks for calling. Go watch, you can
- 27:59Speaker 2: find it online, yesterday's Meet the Press, Mike Rogers, on
- 28:02Speaker 2: with Kristen Welker, where she is going nuts with her
- 28:06Speaker 2: slanted biased nonsense. And he sometimes just looked at her
- 28:10Speaker 2: right on camera. He goes, what's wrong with you? What
- 28:12Speaker 2: the hell happened to you? What happened to you? What
- 28:16Speaker 2: is wrong with you? But she just kept talking over him.
- 28:18Speaker 2: If you don't believe she's totally biased, Watch the segment
- 28:22Speaker 2: with Mike Rogers where she's yelling and screaming at him.
- 28:26Speaker 2: I mean, he really brought out her prejudice. It just
- 28:28Speaker 2: came out as she's yelling all over him. Let's go
- 28:30Speaker 2: to Dan in Oak Ridge. Dan, how you doing?
- 28:34Speaker 5: Hey, Mark.
- 28:35Speaker 7: How you doing?
- 28:36Speaker 2: Where's Oak Ridge?
- 28:38Speaker 14: It's in north New Jersey, Morris County by Florida.
- 28:42Speaker 2: Sounds like you're calling from Deliverance or something. I'm in
- 28:44Speaker 2: Oak Ridge.
- 28:45Speaker 15: That's funny.
- 28:47Speaker 14: Yeah, I just read the Truth Social that the president
- 28:51Speaker 14: put out on Bill Maher. I don't even really understand
- 28:55Speaker 14: why he even bothers even having a.
- 28:57Speaker 2: Dialogue with this guy.
- 28:58Speaker 14: I watched the show on Friday. He was so disrespectful
- 29:03Speaker 14: to the president and to Steve Hilton, who was on
- 29:05Speaker 14: the show, was really disrespectful to them. And I just
- 29:09Speaker 14: wish that I guess he's going to. not speak to
- 29:12Speaker 14: this guy anymore.
- 29:13Speaker 2: No, he will. I guarantee you, Mar will be back
- 29:15Speaker 2: for dinner in two, three months. No, he will. That's
- 29:18Speaker 2: one thing he does. He'll talk to everybody. You know,
- 29:20Speaker 2: you could be the lowest lowlife in the world. You
- 29:24Speaker 2: could be Kirsten Welker. You could be that. Who's the
- 29:26Speaker 2: one on CNN, that scowling, awful woman? Blank Anna. They're
- 29:30Speaker 2: all terrible.
- 29:31Speaker 3: Yeah, but he'll take their calls. They call him. He'll
- 29:34Speaker 3: take the call. That's just the way he is. He'll
- 29:36Speaker 3: talk to anybody and everybody. Who's that other Maureen Dow?
- 29:40Speaker 3: that always lying New York Times reporter, gets everything wrong,
- 29:44Speaker 3: doesn't know Trump, always claims she does.
- 29:46Speaker 2: She calls him all the time. He'll take the call,
- 29:48Speaker 2: talk to her for five minutes. And that's just the
- 29:51Speaker 2: way he is. He loves the fight. He enjoys it.
- 29:55Speaker 2: Let's go to Joe in Brooklyn. Joe, how are you doing?
- 29:59Speaker 11: Good morning, Mark.
- 30:00Speaker 16: I'm waiting for the mainstream media to start saying how
- 30:03Speaker 16: common it is for Somalians to marry their brothers.
- 30:06Speaker 12: In their country.
- 30:08Speaker 2: Is it common there? I don't know.
- 30:10Speaker 14: No, I'm just saying that's what they're going to start saying.
- 30:13Speaker 2: Oh, you mean they'll use that as a defense.
- 30:16Speaker 8: Yes.
- 30:17Speaker 2: It looks like they got her. It looks like she's
- 30:19Speaker 2: going to get at least deported, definitely removed from Congress.
- 30:23Speaker 2: There's a chance she could end up in prison. I
- 30:26Speaker 2: don't think they would do that. Who wants her around?
- 30:28Speaker 2: Just deport her. Get her the hell out of the country.
- 30:31Speaker 2: And it's looking bad for her. By the way, she's
- 30:34Speaker 2: got a couple of high-powered Washington attorneys. I'm looking for
- 30:40Speaker 2: their names. But one was, she's got an Obama lawyer.
- 30:43Speaker 2: She's got one of the Clinton lawyers. And she's going
- 30:47Speaker 2: to end up spending probably a million dollars trying to
- 30:51Speaker 2: defend herself. So she's got a defense fund. trying to
- 30:55Speaker 2: raise money to get her out of this. She's got
- 30:58Speaker 2: a real, real serious legal battle coming up. Hey, we've
- 31:03Speaker 2: got a lot to get to. We'll get to Sean
- 31:05Speaker 2: Hannity getting married. There's terrible news about JFK Jr. and
- 31:10Speaker 2: what happened with his body. We'll get to all of
- 31:12Speaker 2: that just ahead. Actually, we've got time. Let's take another call.
- 31:15Speaker 2: Let's go to Marco in New Jersey. Marco, how are
- 31:19Speaker 2: you doing?
- 31:21Speaker 10: Hey, how you doing?
- 31:22Speaker 11: So you know how they're going after Ilyan.
- 31:25Speaker 15: Omar about her immigration? Any way we could find out
- 31:28Speaker 15: if Melania had lied on her documentation, maybe on her sex?
- 31:33Speaker 2: Well, Marco, you're not too familiar with the subject. That
- 31:38Speaker 2: is the most investigated thing in the history of immigration.
- 31:42Speaker 2: Every fake news organization, every major network, New York Times, everybody,
- 31:47Speaker 2: has gone through every inch of her immigration papers, everything,
- 31:51Speaker 2: and they can't find anything wrong.
- 31:53Speaker 8: Nothing.
- 31:54Speaker 2: Not any. They've been on that for, again, this is
- 31:58Speaker 2: something you wouldn't be familiar with, but they've been on
- 32:00Speaker 2: that for 10 years. 10 years. That was the first
- 32:03Speaker 2: thing they went after, trying to get her on that.
- 32:06Speaker 2: But this is what I tell you, don't ever argue
- 32:08Speaker 2: with the Democrats. There's nothing you can tell them. Because
- 32:12Speaker 2: it's not, they're not doing anything based on knowledge. It's
- 32:16Speaker 2: just like a religious fanatic. It's like a Muslim fanatic.
- 32:21Speaker 2: There's nothing. You can't talk them out of it. You
- 32:23Speaker 2: can't tell them anything. It's like crazy nuts with pitchforks.
- 32:27Speaker 2: There's nothing you can tell them, so don't even argue
- 32:29Speaker 2: with them. Let's go to Rob in Franklin Square. Rob,
- 32:33Speaker 2: how are you doing? Good, Mark.
- 32:35Speaker 17: Thanks for taking the call. Listen, you know, you're right
- 32:38Speaker 17: about these ads, the dirty pool. But that ad in
- 32:41Speaker 17: Ohio with that Atkins woman, that's really, you know, I mean,
- 32:46Speaker 17: she was raped by her stepdad.
- 32:52Speaker 2: We don't know for sure what happened. There's one person
- 32:54Speaker 2: claiming this.
- 32:55Speaker 8: Well, he was.
- 32:55Speaker 17: Indicted and he took off. And the mother.
- 32:59Speaker 17: It was epitome of trailer trash. Hasn't seen her in
- 33:02Speaker 17: 50 years. The kids, her and her brother were taken
- 33:04Speaker 17: away from them.
- 33:05Speaker 2: Well, yeah, no, no. It's all terrible. But what I'm
- 33:07Speaker 2: saying is it's a Democrat tactic. They did it to Trump.
- 33:10Speaker 2: They had this crazy niece who, by the way, never
- 33:13Speaker 2: met Donald Trump in her life. And they had her
- 33:16Speaker 2: as the expert commentator telling you what he's really like.
- 33:18Speaker 2: She never met him once in her entire life. One
- 33:21Speaker 2: time she was in the same room with him. But
- 33:23Speaker 2: that was it. She didn't meet him.
- 33:25Speaker 17: I just think there's going to be a backlash in Ohio, Michigan,
- 33:28Speaker 17: and Indiana with this. Some of the Republicans that are
- 33:31Speaker 17: running there are already backtracked.
- 33:32Speaker 2: You can think anything, but that doesn't mean there is.
- 33:35Speaker 2: You're not there. You've got to remember, Ramaswamy is a
- 33:37Speaker 2: very smart guy. He's on the ground right there in Ohio.
- 33:41Speaker 2: They've got people focus grouping, testing, talking to everybody. So
- 33:45Speaker 2: they keep pretty good track of that. But, again, fake
- 33:48Speaker 2: news when they had that crazy Trump niece. They had
- 33:52Speaker 2: her on the air 24-7 denouncing him. And they never once,
- 33:57Speaker 2: ever once said to her, by the way, have you
- 34:00Speaker 2: ever actually met Donald Trump? Because she would have had
- 34:02Speaker 2: to say.
- 34:04Speaker 18: No.
- 34:05Speaker 2: She got invited to, or she didn't get invited, but
- 34:07Speaker 2: one time Trump's sister was invited to an event where
- 34:10Speaker 2: he was going to be. There were about 500 people
- 34:12Speaker 2: in the room. The sister brought her, but she never
- 34:15Speaker 2: got near Trump. Never met him in her entire life.
- 34:19Speaker 2: A lot to get to, so don't go anywhere. We're
- 34:22Speaker 2: here three hours every day, nine to noon, nine to
- 34:24Speaker 2: noon every day. And then coming up at noon, Buck
- 34:28Speaker 2: and Clay. That's one of the great shows in America.
- 34:31Speaker 2: And then at three o'clock, the most listened to radio
- 34:34Speaker 2: show in America, Sean Hannity. Although today I'll be filling
- 34:39Speaker 2: in for Sean. He's on a honeymoon. Can you believe it?
- 34:43Speaker 2: So I'll be doing the show today, three to six.
- 34:44Speaker 2: And then you got Jesse Kelly at six. You got
- 34:47Speaker 2: the very funny Jimmy Fallon. at 9 every night here
- 34:51Speaker 2: on 710WOR. Much more Mark. Mark Simone.
- 34:56Speaker 1: Now 9 till noon weekdays.
- 34:59Speaker 19: On 710WOR.
- 34:59Speaker 17: 9 till.
- 35:03Speaker 10: Noon.
- 35:04Speaker 2: Oh, my God, that's three hours. And then I'll be
- 35:07Speaker 2: back here later for Sean Hannity, 3 to 6. Wait
- 35:09Speaker 2: a minute, that's six hours. That's a hell of a
- 35:12Speaker 2: lot of talking in one day. Don't forget, follow me
- 35:15Speaker 2: on Instagram. If you're not following me on Instagram, sign
- 35:19Speaker 2: up for my Instagram. It's MarkSimoneNYC at Instagram. MarkSimoneNYC at Instagram.
- 35:28Speaker 2: Let me see. It's going to be a beautiful day today.
- 35:29Speaker 2: Weather looks great. 70 degrees and sunny today. 70 degrees
- 35:35Speaker 2: and sunny. Now, the rest of the next couple of days,
- 35:38Speaker 2: it's going to be really nice. No rain in the
- 35:40Speaker 2: forecast for 10 days. But it'll go back down around
- 35:42Speaker 2: 60 for the next few days. And then, oh, look
- 35:45Speaker 2: at this, Friday, 73 and sunny. Weekend weather looks pretty good.
- 35:50Speaker 2: Beautiful autumn weather in New York City. Back after the news,
- 35:54Speaker 2: two more hours to go. Mark Simone here. 9 to noon,
- 35:59Speaker 2: 710 WOR.
- 36:01Speaker 1: Insight from the inside.
- 36:07Speaker 3: Hey, it's Monday. It's going to be a beautiful day today,
- 36:12Speaker 3: 70 and sunny. It's going to be really nice weather
- 36:15Speaker 3: all week. Lots to get to this morning. This just breaking.
- 36:21Speaker 3: As rumored, there is going to be an anthropic IPO. Anthropic,
- 36:27Speaker 3: let's just file the papers for an IPO. They want
- 36:29Speaker 3: to raise, well, If they get what they want, they'll
- 36:33Speaker 3: be worth $ 2 trillion. It'll be a $ 2 trillion company.
- 36:37Speaker 3: Ticker symbol will be ANT, A-N-T, A-N-T. They just filed
- 36:42Speaker 3: the papers moments ago, so there's no word on what
- 36:47Speaker 3: the price will be. But there will be an anthropic IPO.
- 36:50Speaker 3: That's one of the big AI companies. Of course, it's
- 36:53Speaker 3: Claude and a lot of other stuff that they do.
- 36:56Speaker 3: Speaking of tech, the Apple folding phone called the Duo
- 37:02Speaker 3: was released on Friday. There were lines all over the place,
- 37:07Speaker 3: lines up and down the block. The CEO of Apple,
- 37:11Speaker 3: what's his name? The new CEO, Tunis, whatever his name is,
- 37:15Speaker 3: showed up there for the press. He was greeting people
- 37:17Speaker 3: as he came in. Hey, by the way, he was
- 37:20Speaker 3: quite blunt. I mean, when asked stuff, he would say
- 37:24Speaker 3: something about, The other folding phones, they were just crappy.
- 37:29Speaker 2: He was pretty blunt with his language. A lot of
- 37:33Speaker 2: people liked that because it was Steve Jobs-like. I mean,
- 37:37Speaker 2: Steve Jobs told it like it was. Tim Cook, a
- 37:40Speaker 2: very low-key guy who stayed under the radar, very quiet, dignified.
- 37:45Speaker 2: But we like the Steve Jobs type of CEO, so
- 37:47Speaker 2: I think we got a new one. But the Duo,
- 37:50Speaker 2: it's a folding iPhone. It unfolds into a big screen.
- 37:55Speaker 2: Sold out immediately. Lines everywhere. You never saw lines like
- 38:00Speaker 2: this in the main Apple store, 59th Street. Who knows?
- 38:04Speaker 2: Apple could easily arrange for those lines. But who knows?
- 38:07Speaker 2: Some complaints about the phone. Android has had a folding
- 38:14Speaker 2: phone for a couple of years now. The problem is
- 38:16Speaker 2: when you unfold it, You can see the seam down
- 38:19Speaker 2: the middle. So Apple had this thing about not doing
- 38:23Speaker 2: a folding phone. I think it absolutely eliminates the seam,
- 38:27Speaker 2: which they did. But some people are saying when you
- 38:30Speaker 2: open it, you hear a little crunching, clicking in there.
- 38:32Speaker 2: Some people are complaining that the layout of the apps
- 38:37Speaker 2: on it, the way you look at it, it's not
- 38:39Speaker 2: the same. You know, when you unfold it, it's basically
- 38:42Speaker 2: the size of a mini iPad. So just get a
- 38:47Speaker 2: mini iPad. It's the same exact thing. You don't have
- 38:49Speaker 2: to worry about the folding, unfolding. It's not that big.
- 38:52Speaker 2: You can carry it around. Hey, the truth is the
- 38:56Speaker 2: current iPhone, this one, the 18, it's big enough. I
- 39:01Speaker 2: have a mini iPad. I've had it for a year.
- 39:04Speaker 2: I don't think I've ever looked at it because the
- 39:06Speaker 2: phone is fine. You can use the phone. So don't
- 39:08Speaker 2: worry about the duo. People are yelling and screaming, it's $ 2, 000. Well,
- 39:13Speaker 2: check the record. All those Android foldable phones were at
- 39:16Speaker 2: least $ 2, 000. That's the normal price, so don't complain about it.
- 39:21Speaker 2: The Israeli elections are tomorrow. Everybody, I guess, would want
- 39:26Speaker 2: Netanyahu to win, but.
- 39:30Speaker 2: The president and others saying quietly, if he doesn't win,
- 39:33Speaker 2: don't worry. It'll be fine. They'll get somebody they can
- 39:36Speaker 2: work with. They still want to go ahead right after
- 39:38Speaker 2: the election and finish off Iran with Israel. Israel will
- 39:42Speaker 2: be a big part of that. Israel's got the best
- 39:45Speaker 2: intelligence on Iran. best target information. And if the ground
- 39:51Speaker 2: troops are needed, it'll be Israeli troops. So the elections
- 39:54Speaker 2: are tomorrow. We'll know probably 24 hours from now what's
- 39:58Speaker 2: going to happen there. We'll be able to see. Hey,
- 40:00Speaker 2: I mentioned before that President Trump this morning put out
- 40:05Speaker 2: the longest truth social he's ever put out. 1,300 words
- 40:10Speaker 2: denouncing Bill Maher, calling Bill Maher every name you ever heard,
- 40:15Speaker 2: trashing him, calling Now, why would he have such a
- 40:17Speaker 2: nice dinner and then do that? A lot of people
- 40:23Speaker 2: think that Bill Maher, when he came back from the dinner,
- 40:26Speaker 2: a Friday night show, and he said some great things
- 40:29Speaker 2: about Trump. He said some bad things, but he said
- 40:30Speaker 2: a lot of great things. And the audience at a
- 40:34Speaker 2: couple of points booed Bill Maher. And a lot of
- 40:38Speaker 2: people think Bill Maher has been getting so much flack
- 40:41Speaker 2: from the left, from the Democrats, from his audience, so
- 40:45Speaker 2: much flack Some people think he asked President Trump to
- 40:50Speaker 2: do that truth social. He was getting too much flack
- 40:53Speaker 2: from Democrats, so he asked President Trump to denounce him
- 40:56Speaker 2: like crazy. Because even for Trump, it went overboard. I mean,
- 41:00Speaker 2: there was nothing at that dinner that night. There were
- 41:03Speaker 2: a couple of people who were there, watched the whole thing.
- 41:05Speaker 2: They said it was very nice. There was nothing bad.
- 41:09Speaker 2: Why would he put out this over-the-top attack? They think
- 41:13Speaker 2: Bill Maher asked him, please attack me because I'm getting...
- 41:17Speaker 2: Too much flack for hanging out with you, so that
- 41:21Speaker 2: could have been it. Oh, you know who was out
- 41:24Speaker 2: on the campaign trail? Kamala Harris taking a break from
- 41:28Speaker 2: happy hour to go out there and babble about nothing.
- 41:33Speaker 20: We've gone through the last year and a half where
- 41:36Speaker 20: many of us, whether we admit it or not, have
- 41:39Speaker 20: been saying things to the television that we would not
- 41:42Speaker 20: say where we pray.
- 41:44Speaker 2: Well, when you're very drunk, you do talk to the
- 41:47Speaker 2: television a lot. Drunks are always yelling at the television.
- 41:51Speaker 1: The people get to speak.
- 41:54Speaker 21: And the people show their power.
- 41:57Speaker 2: All right, now, if you had no idea who this was,
- 42:02Speaker 2: if you had no idea, and I just played you
- 42:04Speaker 2: this audio, I said, who do you think this person is?
- 42:06Speaker 20: The people get to speak. And the people show their power.
- 42:11Speaker 20: And they make clear, we're never going to let anyone
- 42:14Speaker 20: take our.
- 42:15Speaker 7: Power from us.
- 42:16Speaker 2: If you didn't know, and I played that, you'd say, well,
- 42:18Speaker 2: that's obviously a teenager. That's obviously a not-too-bright teenager. It's
- 42:22Speaker 2: obviously a teenager's little stone. If I told you that
- 42:24Speaker 2: was a former vice president of the United States, you'd
- 42:27Speaker 2: never believe it. Just a goofy, goofy person. Hey, another
- 42:32Speaker 2: controversy in this election is Alaska. The Republican candidates, Dan Sullivan...
- 42:39Speaker 2: So Democrats, who love these dirty tricks, found a guy
- 42:43Speaker 2: named Dan Sullivan, another Dan Sullivan, and got him on
- 42:47Speaker 2: the ballot. So there's two Dan Sullivans. And the idea
- 42:53Speaker 2: is that the real Dan Sullivan might get more votes
- 42:56Speaker 2: than the Democrat and win. So by having two Dan Sullivans,
- 43:00Speaker 2: it splits up the vote. People will get confused. And
- 43:03Speaker 2: that way, the real one won't win. It's a dirty trick.
- 43:05Speaker 2: Believe it or not, it's legal. uh, Republicans could do that.
- 43:10Speaker 2: Although it's tough for Republicans to do it because in Michigan,
- 43:13Speaker 2: where the hell are you going to find another guy
- 43:15Speaker 2: named Abdul Mohammed El Sayyad? Go, go try to find
- 43:18Speaker 2: somebody else named that. It's not easy, but, uh, so
- 43:20Speaker 2: this Dan Sullivan thing, uh, it's a very dirty trick
- 43:24Speaker 2: and it's confusing the voters. So the justice department said
- 43:29Speaker 2: they may put a hold on certifying the election until
- 43:33Speaker 2: this is sorted out. The dirty trick. Now, uh, Elections
- 43:38Speaker 2: are certified within the state. I don't know how the
- 43:40Speaker 2: Justice Department is going to, it's the state that can certify.
- 43:44Speaker 2: But President Trump talking about that.
- 43:46Speaker 13: We have a man named Dan Sullivan. So the Democrats,
- 43:49Speaker 13: maybe here they're not so dumb. They put another man
- 43:52Speaker 13: also with the name of Dan Sullivan. So we have
- 43:54Speaker 13: two Dan Sullivans.
- 43:55Speaker 2: How about that? Yeah, it's a really, really dirty trick.
- 43:59Speaker 2: But Justice Department threatening to hold it up if it
- 44:04Speaker 2: It looks like the public got confused. Ilhan Omar.
- 44:08Speaker 13: So Ilhan, Nur Sayyed Elmi, her real name is openly
- 44:13Speaker 13: admitted to fraud and she.
- 44:15Speaker 9: Will not be legally allowed to be.
- 44:17Speaker 13: A member of that august body that sits in Washington
- 44:21Speaker 13: so beautifully.
- 44:22Speaker 2: Yeah, it turns out her real name is Nur Al-Sad, whatever.
- 44:29Speaker 2: Who knows? Maybe her real name will turn out to
- 44:30Speaker 2: also be Dan Sullivan. You never know. But it looks
- 44:33Speaker 2: like she's got a real problem. She has lawyered up
- 44:36Speaker 2: with some very high-powered Washington, D.C. lawyers, lawyers who worked
- 44:39Speaker 2: for the Clintons, lawyers who worked for the Obamas, that
- 44:42Speaker 2: sort of stuff. Going to cost her at least a million,
- 44:45Speaker 2: maybe a couple of million, trying to raise money like
- 44:47Speaker 2: crazy for that. We'll see if she's successful with that. Now, A, again,
- 44:53Speaker 2: it's early voting time. You can vote early. Do it
- 44:57Speaker 2: this week. Don't wait for Election Day. First of all,
- 45:00Speaker 2: you do it early. You walk right in. There's no lines.
- 45:03Speaker 2: It's much easier. And who knows? We could get busy
- 45:06Speaker 2: on Election Day. Do it early. It's one thing about Democrats.
- 45:08Speaker 2: They do the early voting. People are turning out in
- 45:12Speaker 2: huge numbers for early voting. I think it's up to
- 45:14Speaker 2: 24 million now have early voting. But it tends to
- 45:18Speaker 2: be more Democrats. For some reason, Republicans wait till Election Day.
- 45:22Speaker 2: Early vote. Go do it this week. You can do
- 45:24Speaker 2: it any day this week. Early vote. It's easier. Lines are...
- 45:30Speaker 2: You won't even see a line. You'll walk right in,
- 45:33Speaker 2: be able to vote. Hey, our colleague Sean Hannity married
- 45:39Speaker 2: Ainsley Earhart over the weekend. Small wedding, very small wedding
- 45:45Speaker 2: at the Church of Bethesda by the Sea. That's a
- 45:48Speaker 2: beautiful old little church in Palm Beach. That's where he
- 45:51Speaker 2: actually proposed to her, in that church. It's the church
- 45:54Speaker 2: he goes to. President Trump goes there when he's in
- 45:57Speaker 2: Palm Beach. And they had a little party the night before, Mar-a-Lago,
- 46:02Speaker 2: with his family and all that. Small wedding, small group.
- 46:06Speaker 2: And President Trump showed up. He was at Mar-a-Lago, came
- 46:09Speaker 2: to the Friday night party. The wedding was Saturday, beautiful ceremony.
- 46:13Speaker 2: And then Saturday night, they had a little gathering afterwards
- 46:18Speaker 2: for the wedding party at the Everglades Club, which is
- 46:23Speaker 2: the old, old, old, very waspy, very posh club. Now,
- 46:29Speaker 2: when you go into Mar-a-Lago, people will say to you,
- 46:32Speaker 2: how are you? You're never going to hear that in
- 46:35Speaker 2: the Everglades Club. You will hear nothing like that in
- 46:38Speaker 2: the Everglades Club. If they heard that in the Everglades Club,
- 46:41Speaker 2: they would call the police immediately. It's a nice club.
- 46:46Speaker 2: It's a little club. Very waspy, very old, old, old
- 46:51Speaker 2: private club. And it's beautiful. Now, the difference is if
- 46:54Speaker 2: you want something to eat, Old waspy country clubs, old
- 46:59Speaker 2: waspy Everglades clubs. Everything is blank. You're not going to
- 47:02Speaker 2: have anything good to eat. You want to have some
- 47:04Speaker 2: good food, you better go to Mar-a-Lago. You're going to
- 47:06Speaker 2: eat much better there. But Sean, actually, he won't be
- 47:10Speaker 2: here today. I'll be filling in for him later today
- 47:12Speaker 2: because he's on his honeymoon. And then he'll be back
- 47:17Speaker 2: to tell you all about it. Speaking of Florida, they're
- 47:22Speaker 2: doing better and better when it comes to billionaires. This
- 47:24Speaker 2: is like a new thing. Who has the most billionaires?
- 47:27Speaker 2: Florida is picking up billionaires at a fast pace and
- 47:31Speaker 2: is now only 15 billionaires away from tying New York State.
- 47:37Speaker 2: But guess who has the most billionaires? Guess which state?
- 47:40Speaker 2: It's not New York, the financial capital of the world.
- 47:43Speaker 2: It's actually California. California has the most billionaires, 255 of them. Now,
- 47:50Speaker 2: the reason for that, California is where the tech industry is.
- 47:53Speaker 2: So you've got Silicon Valley. which just has tons of billionaires.
- 47:57Speaker 2: So that's the reason. So California has 255 billionaires. New
- 48:00Speaker 2: York has 153. It's pretty impressive. California beats us by
- 48:01Speaker 2: 100 billionaires. New York has 153 billionaires. Florida has 138.
- 48:05Speaker 2: So that's not bad. They're slowly but surely catching up. Texas, well,
- 48:25Speaker 2: now Texas has 88 billionaires. Texas has 88 billionaires. That's
- 48:29Speaker 2: still a lot for a state. But Texas has the
- 48:32Speaker 2: wealthiest guy in history. Texas has Elon Musk. That's where
- 48:36Speaker 2: he lives. He's at $ 925 billion. He will be the
- 48:43Speaker 2: first trillionaire in the history of the world. He'll be
- 48:46Speaker 2: the first trillionaire pretty soon. Uh, do you know who
- 48:51Speaker 2: the richest guy in New York is? We've got a
- 48:53Speaker 2: lot of billionaires. We've got 153 billionaires. Who's the richest
- 48:57Speaker 2: guy in New York? No, no, it's Michael Bloomberg. Believe
- 49:02Speaker 2: it or not. Michael Bloomberg at 95 billion, the richest
- 49:06Speaker 2: guy in New York. Who's the richest guy in Florida
- 49:11Speaker 2: out of all those billionaires? You got a lot of
- 49:12Speaker 2: billionaires there. No, This should be easy. It's Jeff Bezos.
- 49:19Speaker 2: He's officially a Florida resident. Bezos is worth $ 380 billion.
- 49:24Speaker 2: Richest guy in Florida. Not bad. Not bad. Connecticut? You
- 49:30Speaker 2: got a few billionaires. Who's the richest guy in Connecticut?
- 49:34Speaker 2: That's right. Steve Cohen. Richest guy in Connecticut. Billionaire. So,
- 49:41Speaker 2: let's see, what else? President Trump, over the weekend, a
- 49:45Speaker 2: lot of rallies. He's going to do that all this week.
- 49:47Speaker 2: He's going to be traveling nonstop. And it's a brutal schedule,
- 49:53Speaker 2: but he's going to do it. He was going after
- 49:55Speaker 2: the Wall Street Journal. You know, a lot of people
- 49:57Speaker 2: don't understand what the hell happened to the Wall Street Journal.
- 50:00Speaker 2: It used to be a reliable, prestigious newspaper. Now, nobody
- 50:05Speaker 2: knows what the hell it is. Scott Besson saying he
- 50:08Speaker 2: can't read it anymore. They ought to call it the
- 50:10Speaker 2: Main Street Journal. It can be very anti-Trump. Okay, if
- 50:17Speaker 2: you want to be that. But it's become very unreliable,
- 50:20Speaker 2: totally unreliable with the Starlink Musk stuff. And Trump going
- 50:26Speaker 2: after them now because apparently they totally ignored the Democrats'
- 50:31Speaker 2: ties to Jeffrey Epstein. Once the Epstein files were released...
- 50:36Speaker 2: It was pretty obvious that there were more Democrats tangled
- 50:39Speaker 2: up with this guy than any other group. Lots of Democrats.
- 50:43Speaker 2: Very few Republicans. And Trump, if you read the Epstein files,
- 50:46Speaker 2: had nothing to do with Epstein. In fact, throughout the files,
- 50:49Speaker 2: you see that Epstein is the biggest Trump hater on earth.
- 50:52Speaker 2: You see him plotting with that sleazeball Michael Wolff on
- 50:55Speaker 2: how to bring Trump down. But go through the Epstein files.
- 51:01Speaker 2: You'll see he was very close to a lot of Democrats.
- 51:05Speaker 2: But Of course, Wall Street Journal ignoring that. Lots to
- 51:09Speaker 2: get to. We'll take some calls next. 800-321-0710 is the number.
- 51:12Speaker 2: Give me a call.
- 51:13Speaker 8: 800-321-0710.
- 51:13Speaker 2: Hey, let's take some calls. Let's go to Walt in Westchester. Walt,
- 51:15Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 51:36Speaker 22: Hey, Mark, pretty good. You just mentioned Fraser Crane. His
- 51:40Speaker 22: wife on screen, Lilith, was perhaps the most reprehensible character
- 51:45Speaker 22: that I've ever noticed, and I suspect that Baby Newworth
- 51:48Speaker 22: should have received many an award for her expert portrayal.
- 51:52Speaker 22: What say you?
- 51:53Speaker 2: No, I liked, what was her name? Lilith. Lilith Crane.
- 51:57Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 51:58Speaker 2: No, I liked Baby Newworth. Very nice woman, very nice actress.
- 52:01Speaker 2: She was a pretty good character. I mean, he was
- 52:03Speaker 2: kind of reprehensible, too, Fraser Crane. Well, that shut him up.
- 52:10Speaker 7: Well, yeah.
- 52:10Speaker 2: He's a snotty, elitist snob.
- 52:15Speaker 22: She comes across as a characteristic liberal. I wonder if
- 52:18Speaker 22: she is so in real life.
- 52:22Speaker 2: Well, I've talked to her a million times. She's been
- 52:24Speaker 2: on the show a bunch of times. But to be
- 52:25Speaker 2: honest with you, I don't think I've ever heard her
- 52:27Speaker 2: say anything political. Although I think you might be right.
- 52:29Speaker 2: I think she was involved in one of those crazy campaigns.
- 52:33Speaker 2: You may be right. Let's go to Bob in Florida. Bob,
- 52:37Speaker 2: how are you doing?
- 52:39Speaker 8: Happy Monday, Mark Simone, Mr. New York. I hope I
- 52:42Speaker 8: got your title right.
- 52:43Speaker 2: Where are you in Florida?
- 52:45Speaker 8: I'm in Boquilla, Florida. Where the hell is that?
- 52:48Speaker 12: Where?
- 52:48Speaker 18: It's on Pine Island. It's in southwest Florida. It's west
- 52:52Speaker 18: of Cape Coral. You know, Fort Myers, Cape Coral metropolitan area.
- 52:58Speaker 8: Pardon?
- 52:59Speaker 2: What are you, the fugitive? Find a place in Florida.
- 53:01Speaker 18: Yeah, I'm running from the law.
- 53:03Speaker 8: I can't, I really, I shouldn't comment on that.
- 53:05Speaker 18: No, I grew up in Chicago. I lived in Arizona
- 53:07Speaker 18: for years with the post office. I was a mailman
- 53:09Speaker 18: in Los Angeles for 15, 16 years. My body was
- 53:13Speaker 18: breaking down. My mind couldn't take the BS.
- 53:15Speaker 2: What do you mean your body was breaking down? So
- 53:18Speaker 2: you mean very tough on your body?
- 53:20Speaker 8: Carrying mail up and down.
- 53:23Speaker 18: People would tell me, hey, nice day for a walk.
- 53:25Speaker 18: And I would say, yeah, too bad I've got to
- 53:27Speaker 18: carry this heavy sack of mail on my back.
- 53:29Speaker 2: Well, don't you have one of those carts with the
- 53:31Speaker 2: wheels that you push?
- 53:33Speaker 8: I was in hills.
- 53:34Speaker 18: A lot of people opted for the carts.
- 53:36Speaker 8: I never liked the cart. It was too much of
- 53:38Speaker 8: a hindrance.
- 53:39Speaker 2: And when you're a postman in Arizona, isn't it like
- 53:42Speaker 2: 110 degrees some days? You got to be out there?
- 53:44Speaker 18: No, actually, I worked on the inside in Arizona for
- 53:47Speaker 18: a year. I started in Chicago on the inside. One
- 53:50Speaker 18: day they put up a notice.
- 53:51Speaker 8: That reassignment opportunities exist in the Phoenix district. I said, hell,
- 53:56Speaker 8: sign me up.
- 53:57Speaker 18: But then I get out there and it was like, well,
- 53:59Speaker 18: Keely of Florida. It was like nothing around there at all.
- 54:02Speaker 7: Oh.
- 54:02Speaker 2: You know, this would be a hell of a series,
- 54:04Speaker 2: a TV series, a dramatic series. Mailman.
- 54:07Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 54:07Speaker 2: A Quinn Martin production. Go ahead. What did you want
- 54:09Speaker 2: to say?
- 54:10Speaker 18: Yeah, you know, some of the women letter carriers, they
- 54:13Speaker 18: call themselves male ladies.
- 54:14Speaker 8: And I was in Los Angeles talking, you know.
- 54:17Speaker 2: Yeah, those letter carriers.
- 54:19Speaker 12: Male ladies.
- 54:20Speaker 2: You don't see a lot of Playboy centerpieces.
- 54:23Speaker 18: Anyway, just briefly, I heard a news thing about some
- 54:27Speaker 18: religious guy that met with Trump, and Trump prayed with
- 54:31Speaker 18: him and did a video. So the religious guy complained
- 54:34Speaker 18: that El Presidente put that video out as a political maneuver.
- 54:39Speaker 18: You see, I had to wait an hour and a
- 54:40Speaker 18: half to go in this... Imagine Mark Simone having to
- 54:43Speaker 18: wait an hour and a half to go in.
- 54:45Speaker 8: to meet with the leader of the free world.
- 54:47Speaker 18: But anyway, so the guy's making it into a political
- 54:50Speaker 18: thing now, you know, two weeks before the election, you
- 54:54Speaker 18: did this. Why are you going out and talking about it?
- 54:56Speaker 18: It was such a terrible thing because you want to
- 54:58Speaker 18: rally Democrats. Yeah.
- 54:59Speaker 2: No, there's Trump haters everywhere. It's like Bill Maher goes
- 55:02Speaker 2: to dinner, admits the president was really gracious to him
- 55:06Speaker 2: and then trashes him. That's politics. Let's go to Cindy
- 55:10Speaker 2: in Connecticut. Cindy, how you doing? Hi, Mark.
- 55:14Speaker 14: First time caller.
- 55:15Speaker 9: Love your show.
- 55:16Speaker 2: Thanks.
- 55:16Speaker 9: I just caught a documentary over the weekend I'd like
- 55:20Speaker 9: to recommend to some of your listeners.
- 55:23Speaker 18: It was called White Guilt.
- 55:25Speaker 2: What is that about?
- 55:29Speaker 16: It covers the civil rights movement and the gentleman Shelby Steele.
- 55:38Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, yeah. Where are you in Connecticut?
- 55:42Speaker 16: Stratford.
- 55:44Speaker 2: Stratford is beautiful. It was a gorgeous autumn weekend. This
- 55:47Speaker 2: is what you do. You sit home and watch a
- 55:48Speaker 2: documentary called White Guilt.
- 55:50Speaker 8: Get outside.
- 55:51Speaker 2: Have some fun.
- 55:53Speaker 13: I did it last night in the evening.
- 55:56Speaker 2: It's Sunday night.
- 55:57Speaker 8: Go out.
- 55:58Speaker 2: There's a million great places. Stratford, Milford's got a lot
- 56:00Speaker 2: of action there. Go on out. Oh, yeah. We're going
- 56:04Speaker 2: out for a nice walk today.
- 56:05Speaker 7: Oh.
- 56:06Speaker 5: Going down to Milford and walk the beach.
- 56:07Speaker 2: Milford is beautiful. Got a lot of great restaurants.
- 56:10Speaker 7: Yeah, I.
- 56:12Speaker 23: Yeah, and I just wanted to say I'm feeling real
- 56:14Speaker 23: good about the election.
- 56:16Speaker 10: Hopefully we'll see some good stuff come.
- 56:20Speaker 5: Out of this.
- 56:20Speaker 8: All right.
- 56:21Speaker 2: Well, get out there and vote. Early voting. Make sure
- 56:23Speaker 2: you do that early voting. Thanks for calling, Cindy. Let's
- 56:26Speaker 2: go to Dennis in Long Island. Dennis, how are you?
- 56:31Speaker 15: I'm well.
- 56:31Speaker 8: Good morning, Mark.
- 56:32Speaker 11: You know, you mentioned earlier the Wall Street Journal turning
- 56:36Speaker 11: sour on Donald Trump.
- 56:37Speaker 2: On everything. It's become unreliable. Don't read the Wall Street
- 56:40Speaker 2: Journal anymore. You can't even.
- 56:41Speaker 5: Well, no, no, no.
- 56:41Speaker 15: It's owned by Rupert Murdoch and the Murdoch clan.
- 56:45Speaker 19: They hate Donald Trump. So that's what you say.
- 56:48Speaker 2: Well, yeah, no, no, that's fine. And that's OK, too,
- 56:50Speaker 2: if you hate Donald Trump. But it's more than that.
- 56:53Speaker 2: They've become unreliable. And again, it might be owned by
- 56:56Speaker 2: Rupert Murdoch. He's not a big tamper. I mean, once
- 56:59Speaker 2: in a while he'll say something, but he's. Not a hands-on,
- 57:01Speaker 2: day-to-day guy on those things. He basically leaves them independent.
- 57:05Speaker 2: Wall Street Journal has just become very unreliable. Let's go
- 57:09Speaker 2: to Ira in Brooklyn. Ira, how are you doing?
- 57:12Speaker 8: Good.
- 57:13Speaker 19: Thank you, Mark. Mark, you used to have a guy
- 57:15Speaker 19: call you. This was a long time ago. He wanted
- 57:20Speaker 19: to be a stand-up comic, and you used to have
- 57:23Speaker 19: so much fun with him. You used to tease him.
- 57:25Speaker 19: Do you remember who it was?
- 57:27Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, yeah. He used to be a prison guard, right?
- 57:32Speaker 19: I don't remember that, Paul.
- 57:33Speaker 2: Yeah, he was like a retired corrections officer. He lived
- 57:35Speaker 2: in Long Island. He would call in. You're talking like
- 57:39Speaker 2: 10 years ago. He was a very nice guy. I
- 57:40Speaker 2: met him once somewhere in Long Island. He came over
- 57:42Speaker 2: to me. I can't remember his name, but you're right.
- 57:46Speaker 2: He used to call all the time and try out
- 57:49Speaker 2: his stand-up. I don't know what happened to him. Sometimes
- 57:54Speaker 2: callers just disappear, and you never know ever what happened
- 57:59Speaker 2: to them. That's a good question. If anybody remembers or
- 58:02Speaker 2: knows him, tell him to call again. We haven't talked
- 58:04Speaker 2: to him in a long time. Hey, coming up, we've
- 58:09Speaker 2: got a lot of stuff to get to in the
- 58:11Speaker 2: next hour. And Bruce Blakeman will be with us later
- 58:13Speaker 2: in the program. Don't forget, I'll be filling in for
- 58:16Speaker 2: Sean Hannity today, 3 to 6. He's on his honeymoon.
- 58:21Speaker 2: I guess that's a good excuse to miss work. Yeah,
- 58:22Speaker 2: I guess that's a good excuse. And then we'll talk
- 58:25Speaker 2: to the greatest columnist in America, Michael Goodwin. Coming up
- 58:30Speaker 2: next on 710WOR. Now, nine till noon weekdays. Mark Simone.
- 58:37Speaker 8: More Mark.
- 58:38Speaker 9: On 710WOR.
- 58:41Speaker 2: Well, the best columnist in America. It's Michael Goodwin every Sunday,
- 58:46Speaker 2: every Wednesday in the New York Post. And if you
- 58:49Speaker 2: go to the New York Post website, all of his
- 58:51Speaker 2: columns are up there. And it's great to have him
- 58:53Speaker 2: back with us. Michael Goodwin, how are you doing?
- 58:56Speaker 7: Good morning, Mark.
- 58:57Speaker 8: Thank you.
- 58:58Speaker 2: Hey, I know they always say a Republican can't win
- 59:01Speaker 2: in New York. Something's different this time. Bruce Blakeman is
- 59:04Speaker 2: a much stronger candidate. Don't you just feel that he's
- 59:06Speaker 2: got a real shot this time? I.
- 59:10Speaker 7: I hope so, Mark. I'm not 100% certain. Because the
- 59:15Speaker 7: big question in my mind is Mamdani's appearance with Hochul.
- 59:23Speaker 7: Helping Hochul or hurting her?
- 59:27Speaker 2: I think.
- 59:28Speaker 7: And Bruce Blakeman, I think, is responsible for a lot
- 59:33Speaker 7: of this election is about Mamdani and his year, his
- 59:38Speaker 7: first year in office. And Blakeman, of course, thinks that
- 59:43Speaker 7: Mamdani is poison to voters around the state. He's very
- 59:49Speaker 7: unpopular upstate, for example, Mamdani is. So I think that
- 59:55Speaker 7: is shaping up as a turning point. And it's fascinating
- 59:59Speaker 7: in its own right to talk about it, Mark, because
- 1:00:02Speaker 7: Hochul invited this. Her sense of weakness and uncertainty about
- 1:00:08Speaker 7: her own campaign had her close the race by spending
- 1:00:15Speaker 7: part of almost every day with Mamdani recently. And so
- 1:00:20Speaker 7: she's really tied herself to him and his socialist brigades.
- 1:00:27Speaker 7: I think, you know, even if she were to win,
- 1:00:31Speaker 7: she's really ruined her chances of getting anything done unless
- 1:00:37Speaker 7: Mamdani approves it.
- 1:00:38Speaker 15: I mean, she's.
- 1:00:40Speaker 7: Entirely flipped the script. Normally the governor is more important
- 1:00:45Speaker 7: and powerful in this relationship. She has handed all of
- 1:00:49Speaker 7: that power to Mamdani.
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: That's an interesting point. Now, um, Normally they use oil prices,
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: gas prices. I don't know why Democrats think that's the
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: number one issue. It's never been the number one issue.
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: But as far as New York City, you've got to
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: carry 35% of it to win the governorship. New York City,
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: gas is definitely not an issue because probably 95% of
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: New Yorkers don't drive or buy any gas. That's right.
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: That'll help Blakeman. You think he'll get the 35% he
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: needs of New York City?
- 1:01:20Speaker 7: Well, it's interesting, you know, that number. I spoke to
- 1:01:24Speaker 7: him about this when we talked, and he said he
- 1:01:30Speaker 7: knows the history of all this, that Lee Zeldin and
- 1:01:36Speaker 7: Donald Trump both got 30% in them. Lee Zeldin 40
- 1:01:39Speaker 7: years ago and Trump in 24. Both got 30% in
- 1:01:42Speaker 7: the city and lost the state. by about six points.
- 1:01:52Speaker 7: So that's why, uh, Blateman says he's going to do
- 1:01:57Speaker 7: better than 30%. And you have to do better than 30%. Uh,
- 1:02:01Speaker 7: Lee Selden once said to me, if you get to 35%
- 1:02:08Speaker 7: as a Republican, it's hard to lose the race. If
- 1:02:13Speaker 7: you cop out under 35%, it's.
- 1:02:15Speaker 8: Hard to win.
- 1:02:16Speaker 7: Um, And so I think the city, of course, having
- 1:02:22Speaker 7: so many more votes, so much a disproportionate effect on
- 1:02:27Speaker 7: the whole state. So if he can get in that 33,
- 1:02:31Speaker 7: the 36, the 38 that he talked about with me,
- 1:02:36Speaker 7: he's got a real shot at winning. And I think
- 1:02:41Speaker 7: that would be a real pushback against Mamdani if more
- 1:02:45Speaker 7: and more New Yorkers vote against his candidate and vote
- 1:02:49Speaker 7: for the opponent. So there's a lot riding on the
- 1:02:53Speaker 7: city outcome. Yeah.
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: Well, listen, Mamdani's got his younger, crazy, socialist-loving supporters. But
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: don't you think in New York City since the election
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: last year that there's a lot of other people, just
- 1:03:06Speaker 2: normal Democrats voted for him, kind of sorry they did,
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: and would like to have Blakeman as just a counter
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: of Mamdani? Well, not to be too.
- 1:03:17Speaker 7: numbers heavy here Mark but Blakeman and I talked about
- 1:03:22Speaker 7: the fact that Mamdani won the mayoral race with 50.4%
- 1:03:28Speaker 7: now obviously it was a big field Andrew Cuomo for
- 1:03:34Speaker 7: example but the point being that he got over a
- 1:03:40Speaker 7: million votes and a million people voted against him so
- 1:03:47Speaker 7: that If Blakeman can tap into those anti-Mamdani voters, he
- 1:03:56Speaker 7: would easily get the required minimum to win the state.
- 1:04:01Speaker 7: But he would really have to harvest a lot of
- 1:04:04Speaker 7: the anti-Mamdani voters to come back and vote for him.
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: Do you think Andrew Cuomo has noticed that Kathy Hochul
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: hasn't called and asked him to come campaign for her?
- 1:04:23Speaker 7: I guess that she would be certifiably crazy if she
- 1:04:27Speaker 7: did that, right? Don't lock her up.
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: Yeah. She hasn't asked Alvin Bragg to come campaign with her.
- 1:04:36Speaker 7: Yeah. It's interesting about Cuomo, though, right? He was kind
- 1:04:41Speaker 7: of king of the hill for most of the three terms.
- 1:04:44Speaker 7: He was attorney general before that, right? And now, having
- 1:04:49Speaker 7: lost Mamdani, he's not even a second thought. I mean,
- 1:04:54Speaker 7: he's really disappeared from the public eye. And apparently he's
- 1:05:00Speaker 7: making a lot of money.
- 1:05:01Speaker 8: Good for him.
- 1:05:02Speaker 7: But there's no hunger anywhere for Andrew Cuomo to endorse
- 1:05:09Speaker 7: or to campaign with a candidate. So it does look
- 1:05:13Speaker 7: like his time has come and gone.
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: Yeah, well, actually, I think it's more a case of
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: there's a real despising of Andrew Cuomo by everybody and
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: anybody in New York. Remember, he did flee Albany with
- 1:05:25Speaker 2: the police chasing him out of there.
- 1:05:27Speaker 7: Yeah, but he almost, he came tantamizingly close to beating Mamdani.
- 1:05:36Speaker 7: So for me, that's something in his favor. And he
- 1:05:42Speaker 7: ran a lousy campaign, and he's still got about, what, 70%
- 1:05:49Speaker 7: of the anti-Mamdani vote. He got over 750,000 votes, I think,
- 1:05:54Speaker 7: in the five boroughs.
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: Yeah, but you've got to put a giant asterisk on that.
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: That was with every Republican everywhere, including the president, telling
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: you to vote for him, and he still couldn't get
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: it done.
- 1:06:06Speaker 7: Right, right. Curtis Sliwa was part of the problem, but
- 1:06:10Speaker 7: the real problem is Mamdani turned out. Uh, so many
- 1:06:15Speaker 7: voters who had not voted before. I mean, the, the
- 1:06:19Speaker 7: PI Piper row socialism.
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: Yeah. Uh, what do you think about the rest of
- 1:06:23Speaker 2: the country? It looks pretty good. If you ignore the
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: fake polls, it looks pretty good for Republicans with the Senate. Well,
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: what do you think about the house? Well, it's interesting.
- 1:06:33Speaker 7: You know, of course you hear all those stock of
- 1:06:36Speaker 7: a blue wave and then, well, maybe it won't be
- 1:06:39Speaker 7: a wave. Um, we've heard this before. And my friend
- 1:06:43Speaker 7: Ed Rollins always reminds me that there will be a
- 1:06:47Speaker 7: lot of people making up their minds in the last
- 1:06:51Speaker 7: few days, and the polls will never pick that up.
- 1:06:55Speaker 7: Nobody polls over the last weekend. And that's when a
- 1:07:00Speaker 7: lot of people make their decisions. So almost by definition,
- 1:07:04Speaker 7: the polls are going to get it wrong to the
- 1:07:07Speaker 7: extent that those people, maybe some of them changing their minds.
- 1:07:12Speaker 7: So I don't believe the polls are a given in
- 1:07:18Speaker 7: the sense that I think there's a blue wave coming.
- 1:07:21Speaker 8: I think it's going to be close.
- 1:07:23Speaker 7: But I'm not convinced that this election has been decided.
- 1:07:29Speaker 7: I think it's still a wide-open race for a lot
- 1:07:32Speaker 7: of the seats in that House and the Senate.
- 1:07:34Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: Hey, I never asked you this. The horse and carriages. Now,
- 1:07:38Speaker 2: this Julie Menon flip-flops on that. and says, well, it's
- 1:07:41Speaker 2: about safety. Well, only one person died from a horse
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: and carriage, whereas 133 have died from the e-bikes. Why
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: isn't there a push to get the e-bikes out of
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: Central Park?
- 1:07:52Speaker 19: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:07:54Speaker 7: You know, Mark, you say flip-flop, talking about the horses,
- 1:07:57Speaker 7: I can hear a clip going. But the, yeah, I
- 1:08:03Speaker 7: think Julian, and it's kind of hard to read. He
- 1:08:08Speaker 7: always says, She kind of talks a tough game, but
- 1:08:11Speaker 7: in the end, there's no real impact. There's very much
- 1:08:16Speaker 7: a finger in the air about which way the wind
- 1:08:18Speaker 7: is blowing. So I can't figure her out. I don't
- 1:08:21Speaker 7: know that she's a counterweight to Mamdani or just pretending
- 1:08:26Speaker 7: to be before she folds. So it's very hard to
- 1:08:30Speaker 7: read whether the council in any way can stand up
- 1:08:34Speaker 7: to the mayor.
- 1:08:35Speaker 2: Yeah, very good point. Well, Michael Goodwin, great as always.
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: You can read his columns every Sunday, every Wednesday in
- 1:08:42Speaker 2: the New York Post. And if you go to the
- 1:08:44Speaker 2: New York Post website, all of his columns are posted
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: up there. You should read them. Michael Goodwin, thanks for
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: being with us.
- 1:08:51Speaker 7: My pleasure.
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: Thank you, Mike. All right. Take care. Hey, we've got
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: a lot coming up in the next hour. In fact,
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: Bruce Blakeman will be with us in the next hour,
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: so we'll get all the latest from him. And then
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: at noon, Buck Sexton, Clay Travis. That is a great
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: show every day, 12 noon. Then at 3 o'clock, the
- 1:09:10Speaker 2: most listened to radio show in America, Sean Hannity. Although today,
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: it will be me filling in for Sean Hannity because
- 1:09:18Speaker 2: he's on his honeymoon. That's right. He got married over
- 1:09:22Speaker 2: the weekend. He'll be on his honeymoon, so I'll be
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: doing the show today. Then at 6, you got Jesse Kelly.
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: Then 9 o'clock, the funniest show on radio, Jimmy Fallon,
- 1:09:31Speaker 2: tonight at 9 on 710WOR.
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: The Mark Simone Show, now 9 till noon weekdays.
- 1:09:39Speaker 23: On 710WOR.
- 1:09:44Speaker 3: Hey, don't forget to get out there and do that
- 1:09:46Speaker 3: early voting this week. Don't wait till Election Day. You know,
- 1:09:49Speaker 3: Democrats are great at early voting. They do it in
- 1:09:51Speaker 3: huge numbers. And there's been huge turnout in the midterms.
- 1:09:55Speaker 3: It's already up to about 24 million people in America.
- 1:09:58Speaker 3: So for some reason, Republicans still wait till Election Day.
- 1:10:02Speaker 2: Do it early. Do it early. All week you can
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: do early voting. And if you go do it early,
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: there'll be no line. You'll just breeze right through. Early voting.
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: Do it this week. In the next hour, we'll talk
- 1:10:14Speaker 2: to Bruce Blakeman. He looks like he's on track to win.
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: But we'll talk to him. We'll get all the latest
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: from Bruce Blakeman. He's got the most brutal schedule. You
- 1:10:25Speaker 2: should see this guy. He's running around all over New
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: York State day and night, besides his day job running
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: Nassau County. Campaigning like crazy. The campaign is about to spend, well,
- 1:10:37Speaker 2: is spending, is spending $ 400, 000 a day It's going to
- 1:10:43Speaker 2: be a lot going on this final week of the campaign.
- 1:10:47Speaker 2: So we'll get to it in the next hour. Don't forget,
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: I'll be filling in for Sean Hannity today, 3 to 6.
- 1:10:53Speaker 2: It's going to be a beautiful day. Sunny, 70 degrees,
- 1:10:58Speaker 2: no rain in the forecast for like nine days. That's
- 1:11:01Speaker 2: great news. It's going to be a beautiful week, autumn week.
- 1:11:04Speaker 2: So we got another hour to go. I'm here 9
- 1:11:06Speaker 2: to noon every day. Back right after the news on 710WOR.
- 1:11:11Speaker 8: The Mark Simone Show. On WOR.
- 1:11:18Speaker 3: Hey, welcome to hour number three.
- 1:11:20Speaker 8: Oh, God.
- 1:11:21Speaker 2: That's right. Hour number three. It's 9 to noon every day.
- 1:11:25Speaker 2: 9 to noon every day. So Bruce Blakeman will be
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: with us later this hour. I think he's got an
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: excellent shot. I think he's going to do it. You know,
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: the last Republican governor was George Pataki. Blakeman, kind of
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: similar to Pataki in many ways. Just a, you know,
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: not a big partisan sort of a guy. Just a
- 1:11:44Speaker 2: very common sense guy. Real common sense, good leadership. Very
- 1:11:50Speaker 2: likable guy with no baggage at all. You know, the
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: Democrats in Hochul, they have been investigating Blakeman around the clock.
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: I mean, they've been doing opposition research on him. And
- 1:12:03Speaker 2: guess what they found? Nothing. Not a damn thing. That's
- 1:12:07Speaker 2: why they're trying to do attack ads on him. The
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: only thing that can attack him on is friends with
- 1:12:11Speaker 2: Donald Trump. That's the attack. They couldn't find anything to
- 1:12:14Speaker 2: get this guy on. And give Blakeman credit. He could
- 1:12:20Speaker 2: go after Hochul for a lot of things. That very
- 1:12:22Speaker 2: shady stadium deal. He could go after her for that
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: very sleazy contract she handed out for the virus testing.
- 1:12:31Speaker 2: She took it away from the normal company that does
- 1:12:33Speaker 2: it and gave it to a big donor company that
- 1:12:36Speaker 2: had no experience in testing. And it raised the price
- 1:12:39Speaker 2: for everybody. But there's a lot, a lot that he
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: could have done. But he's a very gracious guy, wants
- 1:12:46Speaker 2: to win on the issues. You know, they keep trying
- 1:12:51Speaker 2: to convince everybody. It's a couple of things. One, the
- 1:12:55Speaker 2: polls are as fake and as rigged as ever. That
- 1:12:58Speaker 2: Quinnipiac poll that came out last week, ridiculous if you
- 1:13:01Speaker 2: look in the metrics, preposterous. They had the sample was 80% Democrats, 80%
- 1:13:08Speaker 2: Democrats in the sample. It was ridiculous. They didn't use
- 1:13:13Speaker 2: voter rolls. It was crazy. So you see that all
- 1:13:16Speaker 2: the time with these media polls, these college polls. The
- 1:13:19Speaker 2: idea is to call them suppression polls. They're to convince
- 1:13:22Speaker 2: you the Republican has no chance. Don't even go to vote.
- 1:13:25Speaker 2: Don't just stay home. Now, this is not the case.
- 1:13:27Speaker 2: It's neck and neck right now. The race is all
- 1:13:30Speaker 2: about turnout. So if you turn out, Republicans turn out,
- 1:13:34Speaker 2: they'll win. If Democrats turn out, they'll win. And again,
- 1:13:39Speaker 2: early voting all this week. It's real easy. Just go
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: vote this week. Early voting means no line. Easy to do.
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: Breeze right through. Pick whatever day you want this week,
- 1:13:47Speaker 2: whatever is convenient. As I said, we'll talk to Blakeman
- 1:13:51Speaker 2: later this hour. Um, let's see. Zelensky says he has agreed.
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: Russia's agreed. There will be trilateral talks in November. It
- 1:14:05Speaker 2: sounds very impressive. Trilateral talks means three, means three people
- 1:14:10Speaker 2: are talking. So if you're talking to your friend about
- 1:14:14Speaker 2: something and somebody else comes over and joins the conversation,
- 1:14:18Speaker 2: now you're in trilateral talks. Sounds very impressive. It just
- 1:14:22Speaker 2: means three, Zelensky, he looks very difficult to deal with,
- 1:14:28Speaker 2: doesn't he? I mean, if you went to meet your
- 1:14:31Speaker 2: landlord and it was Zelensky, wouldn't you go, it's going
- 1:14:34Speaker 2: to be trouble. But Zelensky has agreed he will be
- 1:14:37Speaker 2: in these talks.
- 1:14:38Speaker 7: Grateful at the moments when we really feel this.
- 1:14:45Speaker 10: Than to be grateful.
- 1:14:46Speaker 2: I don't know. He just sounds like... I mean, would
- 1:14:50Speaker 2: you really trust this guy?
- 1:14:52Speaker 4: Except that the territory which is temporarily bonded will be
- 1:14:55Speaker 4: Russian territory.
- 1:14:56Speaker 10: We can't do it because.
- 1:14:59Speaker 2: I don't know. If you were getting your car fixed
- 1:15:00Speaker 2: and this guy came in, you know you need this
- 1:15:04Speaker 2: replaced and you need to replace it. Would you really
- 1:15:07Speaker 2: trust him? I don't know. President Trump going to a
- 1:15:12Speaker 2: different state ever. day he'll be in seven states in
- 1:15:18Speaker 2: the next week eight states actually there's eight days till
- 1:15:21Speaker 2: the election Trump out on the campaign trail going after
- 1:15:26Speaker 2: Elon Omar you know.
- 1:15:27Speaker 9: What that is that's a legal answer the lawyer said.
- 1:15:31Speaker 3: Answer it that way here's what he's talking about so
- 1:15:35Speaker 3: did she marry her brother well she went on MS
- 1:15:39Speaker 3: now MSNBC And they asked her directly, did you marry,
- 1:15:43Speaker 3: listen to the answer.
- 1:15:44Speaker 8: Who was this man that was your husband?
- 1:15:46Speaker 15: When did they start saying that he was your brother?
- 1:15:48Speaker 6: Why?
- 1:15:49Speaker 4: You were not related to him at all. Not to
- 1:15:55Speaker 4: my knowledge.
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: See, now normally if somebody said, did you marry your brother?
- 1:15:59Speaker 2: You'd say, no, what are you talking about? But she said,
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: not to my knowledge. Very bizarre. So this is President Trump.
- 1:16:08Speaker 9: You know what that is? That's a legal answer. The
- 1:16:11Speaker 9: lawyer said, answer it that way.
- 1:16:13Speaker 13: If they ask you that question, say, to the best
- 1:16:17Speaker 13: of my knowledge, and then give any answer you want.
- 1:16:22Speaker 9: When she says that, that was the end of that.
- 1:16:24Speaker 9: Pretty crazy.
- 1:16:26Speaker 13: Therefore, because she used a fake name to be sworn in,
- 1:16:29Speaker 13: I am assuming that we must immediately, she has to
- 1:16:33Speaker 13: resign from Congress.
- 1:16:37Speaker 2: Yeah, there's a lot of evidence. Looks like they'll get her.
- 1:16:39Speaker 13: I was saddened to hear that Ilhan Omar is not
- 1:16:43Speaker 13: her name, but because Ilhan used a fake name to
- 1:16:47Speaker 13: be sworn in, I assume that she must immediately resign
- 1:16:51Speaker 13: from Congress.
- 1:16:52Speaker 2: Yeah, so she's lawyered up with some heavyweight D.C. lawyers,
- 1:16:56Speaker 2: and she will try to fight this. But who knows?
- 1:16:59Speaker 2: Who knows? If they start piling up a lot of evidence,
- 1:17:03Speaker 2: who knows? She might just leave the country. You never know.
- 1:17:06Speaker 2: She's one flight risk you'd be happy about.
- 1:17:10Speaker 8: Good.
- 1:17:10Speaker 2: Let her leave. Let her go. uh iran they say
- 1:17:13Speaker 2: is in the advanced stages of planning attacks against americans
- 1:17:18Speaker 2: not here not here in the mid-east jay clayton director
- 1:17:21Speaker 2: of national intelligence said agencies received intelligence that iran is
- 1:17:25Speaker 2: increasing efforts to target u.s personnel that we'd be talking
- 1:17:29Speaker 2: about in qatar saudi arabia in the middle east and
- 1:17:32Speaker 2: uh oh they say potential targets in europe and u.s
- 1:17:36Speaker 2: but They also believe Iran does not have the capability
- 1:17:40Speaker 2: to carry out anything in the U.S. right now. But
- 1:17:44Speaker 2: we are telling our personnel in embassies, other places, to
- 1:17:48Speaker 2: get out of there in the Middle East, to leave.
- 1:17:51Speaker 2: You know, with the gas prices, all that, it raised
- 1:17:54Speaker 2: the price of airline tickets. But we're hearing from within
- 1:17:59Speaker 2: the airline industry that this spike in ticket prices is
- 1:18:03Speaker 2: not going to go away. Fuel prices will drop dramatically
- 1:18:07Speaker 2: once they settle things in Iran, which will probably be
- 1:18:09Speaker 2: two weeks from now after the election. But once they
- 1:18:14Speaker 2: do that, gas prices will plunge. They'll drop in half
- 1:18:19Speaker 2: just like that. But people in the airline industry saying
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: the ticket prices will not come down. They'll keep them
- 1:18:25Speaker 2: where they are. They're making excuses already. The chief of
- 1:18:30Speaker 2: United Airlines said, He's saying it's very expensive for us
- 1:18:33Speaker 2: to operate. It's not just the gas. Everything else is
- 1:18:35Speaker 2: costing a fortune. He says, I think the tide has
- 1:18:38Speaker 2: to rise for everyone flying on airlines. Well, he's saying
- 1:18:43Speaker 2: they're going to keep the prices up there. Airlines are 22%
- 1:18:45Speaker 2: more expensive than a year earlier. Round trip for Thanksgiving
- 1:18:53Speaker 2: is going to be up 39%. But it's not about
- 1:18:56Speaker 2: the oil. They're saying they have to do this because
- 1:18:59Speaker 2: they're paying more for everything. Landing fees are more. Airport
- 1:19:03Speaker 2: rents are more. They've jumped up. Airlines are paying employees
- 1:19:07Speaker 2: more than ever because the employees got labor contracts that
- 1:19:10Speaker 2: were well-negotiated. Pilots are getting more. Flight attendants are getting more.
- 1:19:15Speaker 2: So they're saying they're going to keep the prices up
- 1:19:17Speaker 2: where they are. So don't let anybody tell you it's
- 1:19:19Speaker 2: fuel prices with the airlines. Here's the saddest story of
- 1:19:23Speaker 2: the week. This is a very pathetic, sad story. Who's
- 1:19:26Speaker 2: the anchor of the CBS Evening News? Nobody knows. If
- 1:19:33Speaker 2: I said, who had the anchorman of the CBS Evening
- 1:19:35Speaker 2: News back in the 70s? Walter Cronkite. Who was the
- 1:19:39Speaker 2: anchor of the CBS Evening News in the 90s? Dan Rather.
- 1:19:43Speaker 2: You say now, go stop people in the street. Who's
- 1:19:45Speaker 2: the anchor of the CBS Evening News? Nobody knows. It's
- 1:19:52Speaker 2: Tony DeCouple. DeCouple? DeCouple. I don't even know how to
- 1:19:57Speaker 2: pronounce the guy's name. Can you imagine DeCouple? You ever
- 1:20:00Speaker 2: think you see a day where you can be the
- 1:20:01Speaker 2: anchor of the CBS Evening News, nobody's ever heard of you,
- 1:20:03Speaker 2: and nobody knows how to say your name? Tony DiCoppo,
- 1:20:08Speaker 2: he looks like David Muir. I guess that's why they
- 1:20:11Speaker 2: hired him. David Muir is the ABC Evening News. He
- 1:20:14Speaker 2: is very successful. That's the most watched show on television
- 1:20:17Speaker 2: in many weeks. So Tony DiCoppo, the CBS Evening News,
- 1:20:21Speaker 2: is always in last place, gets wiped out by ABC
- 1:20:25Speaker 2: and NBC. So what are they doing about it? Well,
- 1:20:30Speaker 2: listen to this. This is pretty exciting news. Tony DeCouple
- 1:20:34Speaker 2: is now launching his new podcast. Well, there's a novel idea. Gee,
- 1:20:39Speaker 2: I never heard anybody having a podcast. What an idea.
- 1:20:42Speaker 2: A podcast. He'll be joining literally 2.5 million other people
- 1:20:48Speaker 2: that now do a podcast. The podcast will be called
- 1:20:53Speaker 2: The Great Question with Tony DeCouple. It'll be twice per week,
- 1:21:01Speaker 2: Mondays and Wednesdays. Listen to this. This is pretty exciting.
- 1:21:06Speaker 2: DeCouple will focus on one great question. Looking to journalists
- 1:21:12Speaker 2: or experts to help answer it. Who comes up with
- 1:21:17Speaker 2: this stuff? First of all, it's a podcast, which means
- 1:21:23Speaker 2: it's probably an hour, 40 minutes. It's one question.
- 1:21:27Speaker 5: Who the hell would.
- 1:21:28Speaker 2: You're doing a podcast. You better have 50 questions in
- 1:21:31Speaker 2: an hour. One question for the whole hour? With Tony DeCouple.
- 1:21:35Speaker 2: You think the guy's boring reading the teleprompter for a
- 1:21:38Speaker 2: minute and a half on CBS Evening News? Watch him
- 1:21:41Speaker 2: try to fill an hour with that personality. This is
- 1:21:44Speaker 2: going to be pathetic. First guest is the author Malcolm Gladwell. Well,
- 1:21:50Speaker 2: he's pretty good. I like him a lot. He'll be good.
- 1:21:53Speaker 2: DeCouple hopes it'll give viewers a little slice of who
- 1:21:58Speaker 2: he is. Outside of the evening news. Well, I've met
- 1:22:02Speaker 2: the guy a few times. I think you're going to
- 1:22:04Speaker 2: see who he is. He's a very nice, extremely dull guy.
- 1:22:08Speaker 2: He's the dullest guy in the world. So this is
- 1:22:13Speaker 2: what everybody thinks. Well, if I did a podcast, well,
- 1:22:15Speaker 2: that would help. Every author, I don't mean real authors.
- 1:22:20Speaker 2: I mean somebody with a self-published fake book. Every author.
- 1:22:23Speaker 2: I'll do a podcast to promote the book. Nobody's reading
- 1:22:26Speaker 2: your book. Who's going to watch your podcast, huh? But
- 1:22:29Speaker 2: this is what they do. You can't stop and you
- 1:22:32Speaker 2: can't explain it to them. How many people do you
- 1:22:34Speaker 2: think watch network television every week? It's 25 million. That's it.
- 1:22:41Speaker 2: It used to be like 150 million. Now it's 25 million.
- 1:22:45Speaker 2: Network TV. How many people do you think read newspapers
- 1:22:48Speaker 2: in America? 22 million. That's it. How many people do
- 1:22:55Speaker 2: you think listen to the radio every week? 159 million.
- 1:23:01Speaker 2: AM talk radio? 63 million. All right, now here's the
- 1:23:06Speaker 2: one you probably don't know. How many people do you
- 1:23:08Speaker 2: think go to Broadway shows in a year? How many
- 1:23:11Speaker 2: people attend Broadway shows every year? 14 and a half million.
- 1:23:16Speaker 2: That's not bad. That's not bad. 14 and a half million. Remember,
- 1:23:20Speaker 2: you know, we're talking about Broadway theaters. They only have,
- 1:23:24Speaker 2: you know, a thousand seats. That's it. So, hey, also,
- 1:23:30Speaker 2: Bruce Blakeman will be with us in a little bit. Now,
- 1:23:31Speaker 2: of course, you're going to vote for him for governor.
- 1:23:33Speaker 2: But when you go to the polls and do the
- 1:23:35Speaker 2: early voting, don't forget about this attorney general's race. That's
- 1:23:39Speaker 2: very important. You can get rid of Letitia James. Next week,
- 1:23:42Speaker 2: you can get rid of her. There's a Republican candidate
- 1:23:45Speaker 2: for attorney general, brilliant woman, very good. Nobody can remember
- 1:23:49Speaker 2: her name. It's Sarita Kamataredi or something like that. But
- 1:23:54Speaker 2: if you've watched the debate, she was great. Very, very
- 1:23:57Speaker 2: impressive woman. So make sure you vote for her in
- 1:24:00Speaker 2: the early voting. And, of course, vote for Bruce Blakeman.
- 1:24:03Speaker 2: Do it this week. It's going to be a big weekend.
- 1:24:05Speaker 2: So this weekend, you got Halloween, Saturday night. Then later
- 1:24:11Speaker 2: Saturday night, we go off daylight saving time. You'll get
- 1:24:14Speaker 2: an extra hour of sleep Saturday night. But then it's
- 1:24:17Speaker 2: going to be dark out at 5 o'clock every day.
- 1:24:20Speaker 2: Soon 4.30pm. And then Sunday, you got the New York
- 1:24:24Speaker 2: City Marathon. That's all this week. Now, Halloween, Saturday night.
- 1:24:28Speaker 2: What is the number one most popular Halloween candy? It's Reese's.
- 1:24:34Speaker 2: Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. Which kind of just came along
- 1:24:39Speaker 2: late in the game. You know, Hershey candy bars are
- 1:24:42Speaker 2: 100 and something years old. Reese's is a relatively new invention.
- 1:24:46Speaker 2: But now the number one Halloween candy in America. They
- 1:24:51Speaker 2: say candy sales this year are below what they normally are.
- 1:24:56Speaker 2: I don't know why that would be. It could be
- 1:24:58Speaker 2: a couple of, well, it's more expensive this year. There's
- 1:25:01Speaker 2: chocolate prices have gone up and all of that. But
- 1:25:04Speaker 2: it could be, you know, in today's world, when you
- 1:25:06Speaker 2: were a kid, that's all you do is eat candy
- 1:25:07Speaker 2: all day. When you were a kid, it was, you know,
- 1:25:10Speaker 2: Milk Duds and Milky Way and Mounds and M & M' s.
- 1:25:14Speaker 2: It's all you ate. But in today's world, kids aren't
- 1:25:16Speaker 2: allowed to have that stuff much. Kids today, they make
- 1:25:20Speaker 2: them eat sunflower seeds and... almonds and healthy stuff. Can
- 1:25:25Speaker 2: you imagine when you were a kid having to eat that?
- 1:25:26Speaker 2: So it could be that fewer and fewer parents want
- 1:25:31Speaker 2: actual candy given out on Halloween. Hey, don't forget to
- 1:25:35Speaker 2: follow me on Instagram. It's Mark Simone, NYC at Instagram.
- 1:25:39Speaker 2: If you haven't signed up for my Instagram, a lot
- 1:25:41Speaker 2: of pictures, a lot of stuff up there. Mark Simone,
- 1:25:43Speaker 2: NYC at Instagram. We'll take some calls next. 800-321-0710 is
- 1:25:47Speaker 2: the number. And we always like to hear from new callers. 800-321-0710. Now,
- 1:25:54Speaker 2: 9 till noon weekday. Smart Simone. Only on 710WOR. Let's
- 1:25:58Speaker 2: take some calls.
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: 800-321-0710 is the number. Let's go to Dave in Chicago. Dave,
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: how are you doing?
- 1:26:02Speaker 2: Good morning, Mark.
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: I'm doing very well, thank you.
- 1:26:18Speaker 16: Mark, I conducted extensive research during the show this morning
- 1:26:23Speaker 16: from my daily reports. Al Harris was the former prison
- 1:26:27Speaker 16: guard comedian.
- 1:26:29Speaker 2: That's right.
- 1:26:29Speaker 11: Now, Mark, you're going to find this interesting.
- 1:26:32Speaker 19: He used to send you numerous gifts at the W.R. studios.
- 1:26:37Speaker 16: He was always out of breath. I'm reading this from
- 1:26:40Speaker 16: the report. And he was always begging you for more
- 1:26:43Speaker 16: time to tell one last joke.
- 1:26:46Speaker 2: Yeah, Al Harris. We don't know what happened to him.
- 1:26:49Speaker 2: He just stopped calling all of a sudden.
- 1:26:51Speaker 19: He did. Mark, he stopped calling in.
- 1:26:54Speaker 2: What does it say here?
- 1:26:55Speaker 19: He stopped calling in 2014.
- 1:26:57Speaker 2: Now, Dave is our most loyal listener. Dave keeps track
- 1:27:01Speaker 2: of every show, every minute, everything. He puts together these
- 1:27:04Speaker 2: diaries of the show. And he's the archivist of this show.
- 1:27:10Speaker 2: Very good, Dave. Excellent. Thanks for calling. Let's go to...
- 1:27:15Speaker 2: Let's go to Liz in White Plains. Liz, hang on.
- 1:27:18Speaker 8: How do we.
- 1:27:19Speaker 2: Let me see. Liz in White Plains, are you there?
- 1:27:24Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:27:24Speaker 18: Hi, Mark.
- 1:27:25Speaker 10: How are you?
- 1:27:26Speaker 2: Good. How are you doing?
- 1:27:28Speaker 23: I love Bruce Lightman and about... I live in very blue,
- 1:27:33Speaker 23: liberal White Plains, New York. It's a one-party town. Has
- 1:27:36Speaker 23: been for years.
- 1:27:37Speaker 9: Well, I don't know.
- 1:27:38Speaker 2: I know a lot of Republicans in White Plains. Rob
- 1:27:41Speaker 2: Astorino served there. He was the... Republican county executive.
- 1:27:48Speaker 23: My husband ran for county legislator with Rob Esther, you know,
- 1:27:52Speaker 23: and just barely missed it.
- 1:27:54Speaker 16: He was a Republican.
- 1:27:55Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:27:56Speaker 23: But a couple of weeks ago, I put up my
- 1:27:58Speaker 23: Bruce Blakeman sign. And then all of a sudden, they
- 1:28:02Speaker 23: started sprouting up all over my neighborhood. And this is
- 1:28:05Speaker 23: truly amazing. This never happens in White Plains. There was
- 1:28:09Speaker 23: one Kathy Hochul sign. And also regarding George Pataki, my
- 1:28:14Speaker 23: husband ran for mayor of White Plains years ago, and
- 1:28:17Speaker 23: Pataki came down to do a little press conference with him.
- 1:28:19Speaker 14: What an impressive man.
- 1:28:21Speaker 2: What are we supposed to do with this information?
- 1:28:23Speaker 23: Just talking about Pataki. We were bringing him up before.
- 1:28:27Speaker 2: Oh, okay.
- 1:28:27Speaker 23: He's such an impressive guy.
- 1:28:29Speaker 2: He's a very nice man. He's doing great work now,
- 1:28:31Speaker 2: helping out Hungary and doing all kinds of charitable work.
- 1:28:35Speaker 2: Thanks for calling, Liz. Yeah, that's interesting. White Plains, that's
- 1:28:39Speaker 2: a good barometer. If it's all Bruce Blakeman signs, very
- 1:28:43Speaker 2: good barometer. You know, you drive around the suburbs, you know,
- 1:28:46Speaker 2: we don't have this in the city, but you drive
- 1:28:47Speaker 2: out in the suburbs, they got the lawn sign for
- 1:28:51Speaker 2: the Democrat. Then next to it's for the Republican. Then
- 1:28:54Speaker 2: next to it's a sign for the Independent. Then next
- 1:28:56Speaker 2: thing you know, there's 42 signs on the corner. It's
- 1:28:59Speaker 2: just a sea of lawn signs. So totally, they all
- 1:29:02Speaker 2: neutralize each other, basically. Let's go to Mara in Nevada. Mara,
- 1:29:07Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 1:29:08Speaker 5: Good, good, good.
- 1:29:09Speaker 21: I'm going to give you an Al joke. And now
- 1:29:12Speaker 21: Al called. It was after Tim Cook took over for
- 1:29:16Speaker 21: Steve Jobs.
- 1:29:17Speaker 8: Yes.
- 1:29:17Speaker 21: And he came out as gay. Al called and said,
- 1:29:21Speaker 21: would you call that an Apple turnover?
- 1:29:24Speaker 7: Yes.
- 1:29:25Speaker 21: I do laugh when I think of that. Is he funny?
- 1:29:28Speaker 21: Whatever happened to Al?
- 1:29:30Speaker 19: I don't know.
- 1:29:30Speaker 21: And Joe from Long Island, where are they? Why don't
- 1:29:33Speaker 21: they call him?
- 1:29:33Speaker 2: Who's Joe from Long Island? I don't remember him.
- 1:29:35Speaker 21: He used to call him meh, meh, meh, meh.
- 1:29:38Speaker 7: Oh.
- 1:29:38Speaker 5: He doesn't call meh.
- 1:29:39Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:29:40Speaker 2: All right. Well, that Al Harris, that's interesting.
- 1:29:42Speaker 21: Isn't that a funny joke?
- 1:29:44Speaker 5: It's okay.
- 1:29:44Speaker 7: I love it.
- 1:29:45Speaker 2: Well, listen, let's put it this way. If you're playing
- 1:29:48Speaker 2: Madison Square Garden, don't close with that joke.
- 1:29:51Speaker 22: Anyway.
- 1:29:52Speaker 21: Okay, I will.
- 1:29:53Speaker 2: All right, thanks. Let's go to David in Hopit Kong.
- 1:29:58Speaker 2: Hopit Kong.
- 1:30:00Speaker 15: Hopit Kong. Hey, I love your show. I've been listening
- 1:30:04Speaker 15: forever on WOR. Bernard Melcher, Rambling with Gambling.
- 1:30:10Speaker 8: Love it, love it, love it.
- 1:30:12Speaker 15: Now you're on three hours though, right?
- 1:30:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:30:15Speaker 15: When you used to have Joe Bartlett to like, you know,
- 1:30:19Speaker 15: run things over with him, you'd be like, the bantering,
- 1:30:22Speaker 15: that was great. So I think you need like another,
- 1:30:26Speaker 15: like an epic man.
- 1:30:26Speaker 2: First of all, you thought Bernard Meltzer was great, so
- 1:30:28Speaker 2: we're not going to go by you.
- 1:30:30Speaker 15: Yeah, but me, I could do it. I would do
- 1:30:32Speaker 15: it for you for nothing. I could be your sidekick.
- 1:30:36Speaker 3: Well, that might be a good idea because a lot
- 1:30:38Speaker 3: of times, we want to have a guy who talks
- 1:30:40Speaker 3: like this.
- 1:30:40Speaker 2: The whole time, who's yelling on the show. You got
- 1:30:42Speaker 2: to talk softer.
- 1:30:44Speaker 15: Now, I talk a lot softer. We can meet over
- 1:30:47Speaker 15: lunch or something. I would love to have lunch with you.
- 1:30:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm busy that week, but any other time.
- 1:30:52Speaker 8: All right, well.
- 1:30:53Speaker 2: All right, thanks for slowing us up here. Anyway, well, listen,
- 1:30:58Speaker 2: Bernard Meltzer was, believe it or not, at one time,
- 1:31:01Speaker 2: the number one most listened to talk show on radio.
- 1:31:06Speaker 2: I think it was the early 80s. He was so successful.
- 1:31:12Speaker 2: Number one. He was on every night, and then they
- 1:31:16Speaker 2: put him on Saturday and Sunday. And is he gone?
- 1:31:22Speaker 2: He's dead, right? All right, now let's tell the truth.
- 1:31:24Speaker 2: This guy, he wasn't even a doctor. Every caller, hello, Dr. Meltzer? Yes,
- 1:31:30Speaker 2: my dear, what is it? He wasn't actually a doctor.
- 1:31:32Speaker 2: He got some college to give him a degree in
- 1:31:35Speaker 2: music or something, honorary degree. And he would give you
- 1:31:39Speaker 2: all this advice, and he was so nice at the
- 1:31:41Speaker 2: end of the call, he would say, You know what?
- 1:31:44Speaker 2: I'm going to send you two t-shirts. Oh, thank you, Dr.
- 1:31:47Speaker 8: Meltzer.
- 1:31:48Speaker 2: Hang on. We'll get your name and address. And then
- 1:31:50Speaker 2: whatever your problem was, a legal problem, he would sell
- 1:31:53Speaker 2: your name and address to the lawyers. If it was
- 1:31:55Speaker 2: a medical problem, he'd give it to some ambulance chasers.
- 1:32:00Speaker 2: So he was unbelievable. He was quite the disheveled guy
- 1:32:04Speaker 2: in real life, but he was big. Let's go to Christine.
- 1:32:11Speaker 2: I can't see what it says. Christine, how are you doing?
- 1:32:16Speaker 18: I'm good, thank you.
- 1:32:20Speaker 5: Am I on the radio?
- 1:32:21Speaker 2: You're on something, I can tell. No, yes, you're on
- 1:32:23Speaker 2: the radio.
- 1:32:25Speaker 7: Oh, my goodness.
- 1:32:28Speaker 11: I only have a question.
- 1:32:30Speaker 2: Go ahead.
- 1:32:30Speaker 19: Not relating.
- 1:32:32Speaker 23: It's about the contest.
- 1:32:34Speaker 2: All right, go ahead.
- 1:32:34Speaker 11: I don't want to be on the radio.
- 1:32:37Speaker 2: Oh, okay. Well, we'll take it off here. Let's go
- 1:32:39Speaker 2: to Vincent in Brooklyn. Vincent, how you doing?
- 1:32:42Speaker 10: Good morning, Mark. Mark, I'm okay. Speaking about Bernard Meltzer.
- 1:32:47Speaker 10: He was my mother's favorite radio host. This is 40
- 1:32:53Speaker 10: years ago.
- 1:32:54Speaker 2: Women went crazy for him.
- 1:32:55Speaker 10: She listened to him religiously. And heaven forbid if you
- 1:32:59Speaker 10: tried to interrupt her while she was listening to his show. Mark,
- 1:33:04Speaker 10: you speak about early voting. I would love to go
- 1:33:08Speaker 10: vote early. The problem is the nearest early voting polling
- 1:33:13Speaker 10: place in my neighborhood is fairly far away, and it's
- 1:33:17Speaker 10: down in the ghetto. I might not make it there
- 1:33:20Speaker 10: unless I.
- 1:33:21Speaker 2: My money's on you.
- 1:33:23Speaker 10: Well, yeah.
- 1:33:24Speaker 2: I think you'll be okay.
- 1:33:25Speaker 10: In the ghetto. Unless I'm packed in heat, I wouldn't
- 1:33:29Speaker 10: make it. Michael Goodwin was right on the money about
- 1:33:34Speaker 10: Julie Menem putting her finger to the wind because this
- 1:33:38Speaker 10: past Friday, the New York Post ran a whole story
- 1:33:42Speaker 10: about How the bill that Julie Manning and Sandy Nurse
- 1:33:49Speaker 10: from Brooklyn, the representative of Mondami, signed this bill into
- 1:33:54Speaker 10: law that you had to offer your properties to the
- 1:33:58Speaker 10: nonprofit first before you could put it on the market.
- 1:34:03Speaker 10: and my daughter signed it, but she then realized that
- 1:34:06Speaker 10: there were a lot of holes.
- 1:34:07Speaker 2: Yeah, she did flip-flop on that. Vincent, we've got to
- 1:34:09Speaker 2: go do the news, but good point. She is quite
- 1:34:11Speaker 2: the flip-flopper. Her finger of the wind might be which
- 1:34:14Speaker 2: way the donors are blowing. Anyway, thanks for calling. When
- 1:34:18Speaker 2: we come back, we'll talk to Bruce Blakeman. We'll get
- 1:34:20Speaker 2: the latest on the race next on 710WOR. It's the
- 1:34:24Speaker 2: Mark Simone Show.
- 1:34:26Speaker 1: Live from the WOR LifeVac studios.
- 1:34:31Speaker 2: Well, Bruce Blakeman, of course, most likely you're going to
- 1:34:34Speaker 2: be the next governor of New York, but he needs
- 1:34:36Speaker 2: your help. Two things. You can donate. Go to BlakemanForNewYork.com.
- 1:34:40Speaker 2: It'll still help. BlakemanForNewYork.com. And then make sure you vote.
- 1:34:45Speaker 2: You may be a big supporter, but turnout is the key.
- 1:34:48Speaker 2: You can do the early voting this week. Get out
- 1:34:49Speaker 2: there and vote for Bruce Blakeman. Bruce Blakeman, how you doing?
- 1:34:55Speaker 6: We're doing great, Mark. It's the final push.
- 1:34:58Speaker 5: I've got eight days, and.
- 1:35:01Speaker 6: We're crisscrossing the state, and we're having a great time
- 1:35:04Speaker 6: meeting people.
- 1:35:04Speaker 5: But more importantly, people.
- 1:35:07Speaker 6: Tell me wherever I go how miserable they are under
- 1:35:09Speaker 6: Kathy Hochul. I tell them, help's on the way. Cut taxes.
- 1:35:14Speaker 6: Cut utility bills. Get back to normal. These people that
- 1:35:17Speaker 6: are running the state and the city now, they're not
- 1:35:20Speaker 6: normal people. They don't have American values. And of course,
- 1:35:24Speaker 6: Kathy Hochul is the most pro-criminal governor in the United
- 1:35:28Speaker 6: States of America. All of our policies make it easier
- 1:35:31Speaker 6: for criminals to prey on our communities. That ends when
- 1:35:34Speaker 6: I become governor. When I become governor, we're no longer
- 1:35:37Speaker 6: a sanctuary state. We're not going to spend billions of
- 1:35:39Speaker 6: dollars on illegal migrants. We're going to spend that money
- 1:35:42Speaker 6: on New Yorkers.
- 1:35:44Speaker 2: You know, some people will actually say, when it comes
- 1:35:46Speaker 2: to Mamdani, he really is pro-criminal. He really believes all
- 1:35:50Speaker 2: this crap. But even worse is Hochul, who they think
- 1:35:54Speaker 2: just does it for political purposes, which makes it even sleazier.
- 1:35:58Speaker 2: The fact that she's a weather vane, whatever way the
- 1:36:00Speaker 2: wind is blowing, you've never been like that.
- 1:36:04Speaker 6: No, listen, the most important thing as far as a
- 1:36:08Speaker 6: responsibility of an elected official is the safety of our communities.
- 1:36:13Speaker 6: So it all begins and ends with safety and public health.
- 1:36:17Speaker 6: And Kathy Hochul has been a disaster. Just think about
- 1:36:20Speaker 6: the hospitals that have been defunded around the state. She's
- 1:36:24Speaker 6: spending that money on illegal migrants when she should be
- 1:36:26Speaker 6: spending it on our hospitals. She's not spending it on
- 1:36:29Speaker 6: our schools. She's not spending it on our infrastructure. She's
- 1:36:32Speaker 6: not cutting taxes. She's not cutting utility bills. She's doing
- 1:36:35Speaker 6: the opposite. We're the highest tax state in America. Her
- 1:36:39Speaker 6: and Zoran Mondani want to increase taxes next year. God
- 1:36:42Speaker 6: forbid she should be reelected. I will stop that. We
- 1:36:45Speaker 6: will not increase taxes. We will cut taxes. Kathy Hochul
- 1:36:48Speaker 6: has approved 48 utility rate hikes, 48 in four years.
- 1:36:53Speaker 5: That's almost one a month.
- 1:36:54Speaker 6: No wonder why our utility rates are 70% higher than
- 1:36:57Speaker 6: the national average and people can't afford it. Her own
- 1:37:00Speaker 6: state energy budget research department, her department said that under
- 1:37:05Speaker 6: her policies, it's going to go up another.
- 1:37:07Speaker 5: $ 4, 000 a year.
- 1:37:09Speaker 6: And gasoline prices are going to go up $ 2.
- 1:37:12Speaker 10: 25 a gallon.
- 1:37:14Speaker 6: We've got to stop the insanity of Kathy Hoechlin, Zoran Mondami,
- 1:37:19Speaker 6: On Election Day, vote for Bruce Blakeman.
- 1:37:21Speaker 5: I'll cut taxes, cut.
- 1:37:22Speaker 6: Utility bills, and I will make safer communities, just like
- 1:37:25Speaker 6: I did in my county, where I have the safest
- 1:37:28Speaker 6: county in America, according to U.S.
- 1:37:29Speaker 5: News & World Report. I cut taxes, and I haven't
- 1:37:32Speaker 5: raised them in five years one penny.
- 1:37:35Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 1:37:35Speaker 2: Now tell people what to do, because I assume you
- 1:37:38Speaker 2: want early voting. Important to get out and vote early?
- 1:37:41Speaker 6: Yeah, because you never know what's going to happen on
- 1:37:43Speaker 6: Election Day. So if you can, get out, go vote early.
- 1:37:48Speaker 6: If not, on November 3rd, go to your normal and
- 1:37:51Speaker 6: usual polling place and go out and vote. Listen, you
- 1:37:54Speaker 6: need to make your voice heard. If good people don't vote,
- 1:37:57Speaker 6: bad people make the laws. And we know what happens
- 1:38:00Speaker 6: when that occurs. We have to make sure that we
- 1:38:03Speaker 6: save our state. We're number 50, Mark, in economic outlook.
- 1:38:06Speaker 8: 50.
- 1:38:06Speaker 5: There's only 50 states.
- 1:38:07Speaker 6: It doesn't get worse than that. People are leaving in droves.
- 1:38:10Speaker 6: Jobs are leaving in droves. People are miserable under Kathy Hochul.
- 1:38:14Speaker 6: I'm a governor that will put New Yorkers first. every
- 1:38:18Speaker 6: New Yorker, and I will make you happy again. You
- 1:38:21Speaker 6: deserve a governor that makes you happy.
- 1:38:23Speaker 5: Rather than a governor that makes you miserable.
- 1:38:26Speaker 2: Bruce Blakeman, the fact that she's suddenly campaigning everywhere with Mom.
- 1:38:30Speaker 2: that means she's in panic mode, doesn't it?
- 1:38:34Speaker 6: Well, according to one Democrat friend of mine who knows
- 1:38:37Speaker 6: what's going on in her campaign, they told me her
- 1:38:39Speaker 6: hair was on fire.
- 1:38:41Speaker 5: Their polling is very bad. She is desperate.
- 1:38:45Speaker 6: Now she's going to the absolute... left wing of the
- 1:38:49Speaker 6: Democratic Party, the lunatic left. And that's why every day
- 1:38:54Speaker 6: another Democrat walks up to me and says, Bruce, I'm
- 1:38:56Speaker 6: a lifelong Democrat, never voted for a Republican in my life.
- 1:39:00Speaker 5: I'm voting for you this year. I'm voting Republican. My
- 1:39:02Speaker 5: party has gotten insane. I'm talking about.
- 1:39:04Speaker 6: Liberal Democrats, not just, you know, moderate Democrats, liberal Democrats
- 1:39:10Speaker 6: who feel that, yeah, we're liberal, but we're not crazy.
- 1:39:13Speaker 5: We're not communists.
- 1:39:14Speaker 6: They're going to go vote for me, so I feel
- 1:39:16Speaker 6: very confident about this election if everybody gets out to vote.
- 1:39:19Speaker 2: Yeah, make sure you get out and vote. Now, you
- 1:39:22Speaker 2: and Kathy Ogle both have access to real polls from
- 1:39:25Speaker 2: serious real pollsters, but when you see these fake college
- 1:39:28Speaker 2: polls that have you 15 points behind, what do you
- 1:39:30Speaker 2: think when you see these?
- 1:39:33Speaker 6: Well, we looked at the data collection, and it's just
- 1:39:36Speaker 6: what we thought it was. They overpoll Democrats, underpoll Republicans,
- 1:39:41Speaker 6: and they overpoll New York City. And why do they
- 1:39:43Speaker 6: do that? They want to frustrate our turnout. And they
- 1:39:46Speaker 6: want to frustrate our fundraising. But people aren't buying into it. Look,
- 1:39:51Speaker 6: if Kathy Hochul was way ahead of me, why would
- 1:39:53Speaker 6: she spend $ 6 million attacking me last week?
- 1:39:57Speaker 8: Okay?
- 1:39:58Speaker 6: And raising my name ID. You never do that unless
- 1:40:02Speaker 6: it's a close race. All she would be doing is
- 1:40:04Speaker 6: positive ads. But all her ads are negative ads. She
- 1:40:08Speaker 6: can't talk about her record because her record is miserable.
- 1:40:11Speaker 6: So she attacks me constantly, not on substance, but on association,
- 1:40:17Speaker 6: you know, that I'm associated with Trump. Look, I support
- 1:40:21Speaker 6: President Trump. I agree with President Trump on most things,
- 1:40:24Speaker 6: but I have disagreements with President Trump and I'm willing
- 1:40:27Speaker 6: to stand up. I will always do what's best for
- 1:40:31Speaker 6: the people of New York. Nobody's going to tell me
- 1:40:33Speaker 6: what to do when it comes to protecting this state
- 1:40:36Speaker 6: and making sure that we make it affordable for every
- 1:40:38Speaker 6: New Yorker.
- 1:40:39Speaker 2: You know, Hochul got embarrassed that there were no positive
- 1:40:42Speaker 2: ads for her. So she's finally come out with positive ads.
- 1:40:46Speaker 2: The only positive ad she could come up with is
- 1:40:47Speaker 2: she fixed a school lunch program. Is that it? That's
- 1:40:50Speaker 2: the only thing she could say?
- 1:40:52Speaker 5: Well, that's about it.
- 1:40:54Speaker 6: And even that is a disaster because the fact is
- 1:40:58Speaker 6: that was screwed up as well. The students weren't getting
- 1:41:02Speaker 6: their proper nutrition. They got a program that is... way
- 1:41:09Speaker 6: overly expensive. There is no controls on the spending, so
- 1:41:13Speaker 6: you're not getting quality food and quality service. Kathy Hochul
- 1:41:17Speaker 6: can't run any operation. This woman can't run a pepper factory.
- 1:41:22Speaker 6: How is she going to run the state of New York?
- 1:41:24Speaker 6: She's run it into the ground. People are miserable. We're
- 1:41:28Speaker 6: in a death spiral. We're number 50 in economic outlook.
- 1:41:31Speaker 6: It's time for a change.
- 1:41:33Speaker 2: Yeah. You got to give the Democrats credit, though, just
- 1:41:36Speaker 2: for chutzpah. They've been in charge of every inch of
- 1:41:39Speaker 2: government in New York for the last 10 years, and
- 1:41:42Speaker 2: they're campaigning that there's an affordability crisis on their watch.
- 1:41:46Speaker 2: How do they have the nerve to do that?
- 1:41:48Speaker 6: Well, if it wasn't so tragic, it would be hysterical
- 1:41:52Speaker 6: because I almost fell off my chair when Kathy Hochul
- 1:41:56Speaker 6: in January gave her state of the state speech saying
- 1:42:00Speaker 6: that it's unaffordable to live in New York. Well, what
- 1:42:02Speaker 6: have you been doing for five years? You're the one
- 1:42:04Speaker 6: that created this problem. You're the one that made us
- 1:42:06Speaker 6: the highest taxed state in America. You approved 40 utility
- 1:42:10Speaker 6: rate hikes. Look in the mirror. So people, they're very smart.
- 1:42:17Speaker 6: I don't sell people short in New York State.
- 1:42:19Speaker 5: They're smart.
- 1:42:19Speaker 6: They're sophisticated. From one state to the other, they know
- 1:42:22Speaker 6: what's going on, and that's why we're going to win
- 1:42:23Speaker 6: this election.
- 1:42:25Speaker 2: Bruce Blakeman, just set the record straight. You have agreed
- 1:42:28Speaker 2: to many debates. There should be a real debate, like
- 1:42:32Speaker 2: Channel 2, Channel 4, channels. You've agreed to them and
- 1:42:36Speaker 2: she's turned them all down, right?
- 1:42:39Speaker 6: I agreed to CBS, NBC, ABC, Fox 5, Spectrum, News 12.
- 1:42:47Speaker 6: Everybody that asked me to debate Kathy Hochul, I accepted.
- 1:42:53Speaker 6: She picked the smallest media outlet in the state of
- 1:42:57Speaker 6: New York. People couldn't find it. They had to go
- 1:43:01Speaker 6: on YouTube to see it or they had to see
- 1:43:03Speaker 6: it after it was live.
- 1:43:05Speaker 5: But you know what?
- 1:43:07Speaker 6: People started paying attention after the debate. They realized that
- 1:43:11Speaker 6: she couldn't support any of her policies. And they realized
- 1:43:14Speaker 6: that I had a record of making people happy, cutting taxes,
- 1:43:17Speaker 6: making safer communities. So I got a big bump from
- 1:43:21Speaker 6: the debate, even though not enough people saw it. But
- 1:43:24Speaker 6: that just shows you Kathy Hochul has no record to
- 1:43:27Speaker 6: run on. And that's why you compare my record running
- 1:43:30Speaker 6: a county that's larger than eight states and getting reelected.
- 1:43:35Speaker 6: In a landslide in a county with 110,000 more Democrats
- 1:43:38Speaker 6: versus her record of just failed policies and making people unhappy.
- 1:43:42Speaker 2: Yeah. Now, she's actually the first governor in history to
- 1:43:45Speaker 2: refuse to do a second debate. No one else has
- 1:43:47Speaker 2: ever done that before, I believe.
- 1:43:50Speaker 6: Well, again, she's hiding and she doesn't want to appear
- 1:43:55Speaker 6: in public. It was hysterical at all of the public
- 1:44:01Speaker 6: events that she goes to. She has security standing around her,
- 1:44:05Speaker 6: so she has no interaction with the general public.
- 1:44:08Speaker 5: I wade into the public.
- 1:44:11Speaker 6: I want to meet people. I want to talk to them.
- 1:44:13Speaker 6: I'm not afraid to debate issues. I'm not afraid to
- 1:44:16Speaker 6: discuss policies. And I want to hear about common, everyday
- 1:44:19Speaker 6: people's problems, because that's what you should do as governor.
- 1:44:23Speaker 6: And she lives in this ivory tower. And look what
- 1:44:26Speaker 6: she said about black kids. She said, black kids in
- 1:44:28Speaker 6: the Bronx don't know what a computer is.
- 1:44:30Speaker 2: Well, Kathy.
- 1:44:33Speaker 6: They get computers in sixth grade. They're better at a
- 1:44:35Speaker 6: computer than you'll ever be. Or what she said about
- 1:44:38Speaker 6: upstate New Yorkers. She said upstate New Yorkers weren't sophisticated
- 1:44:42Speaker 6: enough to make important decisions. Well, I've traveled upstate many
- 1:44:47Speaker 6: times over the last 35 years, and I can tell
- 1:44:50Speaker 6: you they have something that Kathy Hochul doesn't have. They
- 1:44:52Speaker 6: have good sense, good common sense, and good judgment. So
- 1:44:57Speaker 6: she looks down on the people of this state. I
- 1:44:59Speaker 6: want to uplift the people of this state.
- 1:45:01Speaker 18: Yeah.
- 1:45:02Speaker 2: Everybody get out and vote. That's the key. Turn out.
- 1:45:05Speaker 2: I know you're supporting Bruce Blakeman, but get out and vote.
- 1:45:07Speaker 2: Do the early voting. It'll be much easier. Go to BlakemanForNewYork.com.
- 1:45:12Speaker 2: You can donate there. BlakemanForNewYork.com, but get out and vote
- 1:45:15Speaker 2: this week. Bruce Blakeman, good luck. Thank you so.
- 1:45:20Speaker 8: Much, Mark.
- 1:45:20Speaker 6: You're a good friend, and thank you for giving me
- 1:45:23Speaker 6: this opportunity to be on your show. You have so
- 1:45:26Speaker 6: many fans and supporters out there everywhere I go. They say,
- 1:45:30Speaker 6: I heard you on the Mark Simone show.
- 1:45:32Speaker 2: All right. Well, keep up the good work, and we'll
- 1:45:34Speaker 2: see you in Albany pretty soon. Thanks for being with us.
- 1:45:38Speaker 8: Thanks so much. You got it.
- 1:45:39Speaker 2: Take care. Hey, don't forget, coming up at noon, Buck
- 1:45:42Speaker 2: Sexton and Clay Travis. A big, big show every day
- 1:45:45Speaker 2: at noon. 3 o'clock, the most listened to radio show
- 1:45:48Speaker 2: in America, Sean Hannity. I'll be filling in for Sean today.
- 1:45:51Speaker 2: He's on his honeymoon. But that's today, 3 to 6,
- 1:45:55Speaker 2: on 710WOR.
- 1:45:57Speaker 1: What's better than two hours of Mark Simone?
- 1:46:01Speaker 5: Three!
- 1:46:01Speaker 1: The Mark Simone Show. Now nine till noon weekdays.
- 1:46:06Speaker 11: 710WOR.
- 1:46:06Speaker 2: Hey, well, we're just about out of time. So I'll
- 1:46:13Speaker 2: be doing Sean Hannity's show later today, 3 to 6.
- 1:46:16Speaker 2: He's taking the day off for his honeymoon. You ever
- 1:46:20Speaker 2: heard of such an excuse? Is that any reason to
- 1:46:23Speaker 2: take the day off? Well, I guess it's okay. So
- 1:46:26Speaker 2: I'll be filling in later today. He got married over
- 1:46:28Speaker 2: the weekend. And then when he comes back, he'll give
- 1:46:30Speaker 2: you all the details. It's going to be a beautiful day. See,
- 1:46:33Speaker 2: whenever I have to fill in and be inside all day,
- 1:46:36Speaker 2: that's when it's always a beautiful day. It's going to
- 1:46:38Speaker 2: be 70 and sunny today. And then actually going to
- 1:46:42Speaker 2: be nice all week. Bright sunshine. Don't forget this weekend,
- 1:46:45Speaker 2: we go off daylight saving time this weekend. I'll see
- 1:46:49Speaker 2: you tomorrow on 710WOR.
