- 0:00Speaker 1: Woo!
- 0:01Speaker 2: Still gots.
- 0:01Speaker 3: Woo!
- 0:02Speaker 4: I gotta be honest with you, Bruce, there's a good
- 0:03Speaker 4: chance I'd be high anyway.
- 0:05Speaker 5: Woo!
- 0:05Speaker 2: And I'm wondering how the football weekend was. Were you
- 0:07Speaker 2: able to watch it? Wow, what happened? Oh, I'm tired
- 0:12Speaker 2: of him. I'm serious. How about that? In company.
- 0:15Speaker 5: We are mother shuckers, baby.
- 0:17Speaker 4: Woo!
- 0:17Speaker 1: Bruce, does Faison Brandon's name sound like it's on backwards?
- 0:20Speaker 2: No doubt.
- 0:21Speaker 1: It's time to get your.
- 0:23Speaker 1: It's time to get your financial. To get the all boat.
- 0:28Speaker 2: You got nothing right there.
- 0:29Speaker 1: This is not going well.
- 0:31Speaker 2: This is Stu Gotts and company. Stu, back to you. Taylor,
- 0:36Speaker 2: put it on the poll, please.
- 0:37Speaker 4: At Stu Gotts 790 on X is Sam Darnold.
- 0:40Speaker 2: Good.
- 0:41Speaker 4: Also put this on the poll is Bo Nix even average.
- 0:47Speaker 4: What a dreadful game last night. Mikey, just a terrible game.
- 0:51Speaker 4: The Broncos get the victory 17-14 in overtime over Seattle.
- 0:56Speaker 4: The uniforms were way better than the actual football being.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Played on that field.
- 1:02Speaker 5: Best part of the game.
- 1:03Speaker 2: No question about it, yes.
- 1:04Speaker 1: So I am getting dangerously close to opting out of
- 1:08Speaker 1: Broncos football where... Bo Nix is borderline unwatchable. I don't
- 1:14Speaker 1: know if it's pain in the ankle, a lack of
- 1:17Speaker 1: confidence in his ankle. The play before the game-winning field goal,
- 1:21Speaker 1: Sean Payton calls a design run for Nix.
- 1:23Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:24Speaker 1: And Nix basically just quits on the play from the
- 1:27Speaker 1: snap where you have Ryan Fitzpatrick after the game. We
- 1:29Speaker 1: have that sound that we could go to in a bit.
- 1:33Speaker 1: everybody is just ripping Bo Nix today. And it feels
- 1:36Speaker 1: like part of the Broncos fan base just throws their
- 1:38Speaker 1: hands up and goes, well, we're winning anyways. And then
- 1:41Speaker 1: the other part is like, yeah, but imagine how much
- 1:43Speaker 1: we'd be winning if Bo Nix wasn't our quarterback.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Bo quits. It was so close.
- 1:50Speaker 4: It was close. It was close. I mean, Mikey, give
- 1:53Speaker 4: me credit. It was close. It wasn't close.
- 1:56Speaker 2: I'm sorry. Anyway, go ahead.
- 1:57Speaker 5: Um, I owe you guys an apology. Really? Because I
- 2:04Speaker 5: have been behind this Bo Nix thing for a while.
- 2:08Speaker 5: I've been and I tried to make excuses and I
- 2:12Speaker 5: tried to do that. But everything that he has done
- 2:16Speaker 5: this year is not. I tried to chalk it up to, oh,
- 2:20Speaker 5: new offensive coordinator. He'll be better when Sean Payton comes back.
- 2:23Speaker 5: He's not better. He's not better. His average pass in
- 2:29Speaker 5: the second half yesterday was thrown behind the line of scrimmage.
- 2:33Speaker 5: It was for negative yards. He was throwing the ball
- 2:36Speaker 5: in the air for negative yards in the second half.
- 2:39Speaker 2: Yes.
- 2:41Speaker 5: The Broncos offense is worse than the Chargers by almost
- 2:44Speaker 5: every metric. Yes. He has a worse QBR than Malik Willis.
- 2:51Speaker 5: His yards per game is worse than Drew Locke. And
- 2:54Speaker 5: his completion percentage is worse than Cam Ward. I'm out
- 3:00Speaker 5: on Bo Nix. I apologize. I tried to defend him. Taylor,
- 3:04Speaker 5: I've learned from you. Sometimes you just got to be
- 3:06Speaker 5: a big enough man to say when you're wrong.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Right. I was wrong. All right. I was wrong.
- 3:11Speaker 5: Bo Nix isn't the guy.
- 3:12Speaker 3: All right.
- 3:12Speaker 2: Apology accepted.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Mikey, there's this stat from Doug Clausen on Twitter.
- 3:17Speaker 5: I wanted to leave it to you. I wanted to
- 3:19Speaker 5: leave this one for you. I gave you all the
- 3:20Speaker 5: other ones. I wanted you to have this one.
- 3:23Speaker 1: This stat from Doug Clausen on Twitter. There are 701
- 3:27Speaker 1: qualified quarterback seasons through six games in the past 20 years.
- 3:31Speaker 2: 2026 Bo Nix ranks number.
- 3:34Speaker 1: 701st out of 701 in average pass length.
- 3:39Speaker 2: And somehow he's 4-2. But that's why you.
- 3:42Speaker 1: Have all the former quarterbacks on the networks ripping Bo
- 3:46Speaker 1: Nix and saying that what Bo Nix is doing to
- 3:49Speaker 1: the quarterback position is disgraceful. This was Ryan Fitzpatrick on
- 3:52Speaker 1: the Thursday night broadcast after the game.
- 3:55Speaker 3: I mean, I'm glad they scored the two touchdowns in
- 3:58Speaker 3: the first half, but they were in four-minute mode when
- 4:00Speaker 3: the second half started.
- 4:01Speaker 1: It was really frustrating to watch.
- 4:03Speaker 3: And part of it for me is Bo Nix is
- 4:06Speaker 3: not playing competitively. It's almost disrespectful to the quarterback position
- 4:10Speaker 3: how he's playing football.
- 4:11Speaker 5: What do you mean?
- 4:12Speaker 2: What do you mean when you see? How is he playing?
- 4:14Speaker 3: I mean, first of all, the guy doesn't want to
- 4:16Speaker 3: throw the ball.
- 4:17Speaker 2: That's fine. He's throwing to the flats. He's throwing behind.
- 4:19Speaker 3: But he has no trust from his coach. He calls
- 4:22Speaker 3: a screen play on third and eight. Just run up
- 4:24Speaker 3: and let the clock keep going.
- 4:26Speaker 2: What does he do? He throws it away. Seattle gets
- 4:28Speaker 2: the ball. They have a timeout.
- 4:29Speaker 3: And then in overtime, he's got two chances to be competitive.
- 4:33Speaker 3: The last one being a designed run for him.
- 4:36Speaker 2: To run, make somebody miss, and.
- 4:38Speaker 3: Get a first down for your football team.
- 4:40Speaker 1: Now, they're in the locker room right now.
- 4:42Speaker 2: They're excited.
- 4:43Speaker 1: They won.
- 4:44Speaker 2: He's not playing competitive football right now. You are playing
- 4:47Speaker 2: competitive broadcasting.
- 4:48Speaker 4: I love it.
- 4:49Speaker 3: You're fired up.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Look, I love your passion about this because if you're
- 4:54Speaker 2: this fired up and you're not on this team or
- 4:56Speaker 2: you're not one of these fans, I can only imagine
- 4:58Speaker 2: how they feel.
- 4:58Speaker 3: I can only imagine how Sean Payton feels. I mean,
- 5:01Speaker 3: Sean Payton, Davis Webb, everybody that blocks.
- 5:04Speaker 5: For him, he's not competing right now.
- 5:06Speaker 3: And that's something that he's hung his hat on for
- 5:08Speaker 3: the last two years.
- 5:09Speaker 1: I don't know if he's still injured.
- 5:11Speaker 3: I don't know what's going on, but it's not good enough.
- 5:13Speaker 2: It's effort.
- 5:15Speaker 4: Sean Payton, I can tell you how he feels. He
- 5:17Speaker 4: feels like he's four and two with a bad quarterback
- 5:19Speaker 4: and can point to what a great coach he is.
- 5:22Speaker 2: I'm serious, right?
- 5:25Speaker 1: You could put almost any other quarterback on this Broncos team.
- 5:28Speaker 2: Right.
- 5:29Speaker 1: Except for the one that they were playing against last night.
- 5:32Speaker 3: Yes.
- 5:32Speaker 1: And you're going to have a chance to win.
- 5:34Speaker 5: That's not fair.
- 5:35Speaker 2: That's not fair. He won a Super Bowl, Taylor.
- 5:38Speaker 5: That's not fair. Sam Darnold stinks.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Sam Darnold.
- 5:42Speaker 2: So you're voting no on the polls.
- 5:44Speaker 5: Yes.
- 5:45Speaker 1: We are getting dangerously close to having the conversation if
- 5:49Speaker 1: the Seahawks should turn to Drew Locke because of how
- 5:52Speaker 1: unwatchable that Seahawks offense is. If you told me, Game
- 5:56Speaker 1: for my life, Bo Nix or Sam Darnold, I'm assuming
- 5:59Speaker 1: I'm dying either way.
- 6:01Speaker 2: You take Sean Payton.
- 6:03Speaker 5: Sam Darnold did not get a half second to throw
- 6:07Speaker 5: the ball behind that offensive line and that blitzing by
- 6:11Speaker 5: the Denver Broncos. That was bad. Now, at some point,
- 6:15Speaker 5: somebody needs to make an adjustment. At some point, some
- 6:18Speaker 5: coach needs to say, hey, let's not try and throw
- 6:21Speaker 5: the ball down the field to JSN. Let's try and
- 6:23Speaker 5: do a few other things to help our quarterback out.
- 6:27Speaker 5: Because Sam Darnold was getting the ball and getting hit
- 6:31Speaker 5: almost immediately. It was hard to watch. Now, Sam Darnold
- 6:36Speaker 5: tends to... get a little happy feet once he's been
- 6:39Speaker 5: hit a lot early. And I will give you, later
- 6:42Speaker 5: in the game, he was seeing ghosts. He'll, as you've heard,
- 6:46Speaker 5: he'll be the first to admit, he'll be the first
- 6:48Speaker 5: to admit, I see ghosts.
- 6:50Speaker 2: Yes.
- 6:51Speaker 5: But early in that game, he didn't have a second
- 6:53Speaker 5: to throw the ball.
- 6:54Speaker 4: You would figure the ghosts would go away after he
- 6:56Speaker 4: wins a Super Bowl, but they're still there.
- 6:57Speaker 2: You're right, Mikey.
- 6:58Speaker 5: The ghosts don't go away. That's why they're ghosts.
- 7:01Speaker 1: My problem with Sam Darnold, Mikey, and where I disagree
- 7:04Speaker 1: with you is like, I think you could have given
- 7:06Speaker 1: Sam Darnold all the time in the pocket last night
- 7:09Speaker 1: and Sam Darnold was still going to Sam Darnold where
- 7:11Speaker 1: he has 43 giveaways since 2024, the most in the NFL.
- 7:15Speaker 1: And where I'm at with Sam Darnold, I think Sam
- 7:17Speaker 1: Darnold is this generation's Trent Dilfer, where we look back
- 7:21Speaker 1: 20 years from now and marvel at how he was
- 7:24Speaker 1: able to win a Super Bowl, how the most turnover-prone
- 7:27Speaker 1: quarterback played three playoff games and didn't turn the ball
- 7:31Speaker 1: over a single time, where you look at the Super
- 7:33Speaker 1: Bowl with the way Mike McDonald's defense was getting after
- 7:36Speaker 1: Drake May— Seattle could have won that game with just
- 7:38Speaker 1: about anybody at the quarterback position, but you do have
- 7:41Speaker 1: to give Sam Darnold credit where in the biggest game
- 7:44Speaker 1: of his career, that NFC Championship game against the Rams,
- 7:47Speaker 1: he was flawless. And when Seattle needed him the most,
- 7:50Speaker 1: he played his best football The problem is asking him
- 7:54Speaker 1: to do that for a season feels like an impossible task.
- 7:57Speaker 4: He is banged up. That's disrespectful. That's where I draw
- 8:00Speaker 4: the line when you call him Trent Dilfer.
- 8:02Speaker 1: He knows he's Trent Dilfer.
- 8:03Speaker 2: No, no, no.
- 8:04Speaker 4: Taylor, I'm telling you, the only reason... No, he does
- 8:06Speaker 4: not put it on the poll. Does Sam Darnold know...
- 8:09Speaker 4: That he's Trent Dilfer.
- 8:10Speaker 1: How about it's Sam Darnold's this generation's Trent Dilfer?
- 8:13Speaker 2: Put them both on the poll.
- 8:14Speaker 4: I am telling you right now, if you look up
- 8:16Speaker 4: Sam Darnold's stats, he's already.
- 8:20Speaker 2: Exceeded Trent Dilfer's entire career.
- 8:22Speaker 1: Different era.
- 8:25Speaker 2: Just look him up.
- 8:26Speaker 4: Just so we can laugh at it. The problem with
- 8:29Speaker 4: the Broncos, Mikey, is that's a good football team. That's
- 8:32Speaker 4: a team that went to the AFC Championship game a
- 8:34Speaker 4: year ago. That's a team that a lot of people
- 8:37Speaker 4: feel like could go deep again and perhaps find themselves
- 8:40Speaker 4: in the Super Bowl. And I will just take you
- 8:42Speaker 4: through here what's frustrating about Bo Nix. They lost to
- 8:45Speaker 4: the Chiefs 5-31-10. They got blown out. This team with
- 8:49Speaker 4: a bad quarterback.
- 8:50Speaker 2: Okay.
- 8:51Speaker 4: Has beaten the Jacksonville Jaguars. They've beaten the LA Rams.
- 8:56Speaker 4: They were close against the Rams. They beat the chargers.
- 8:59Speaker 4: They beat the Seahawks. Think about that with a bad quarterback, Mikey.
- 9:02Speaker 4: And that's, what's frustrating about Bo Nix.
- 9:05Speaker 5: You're right.
- 9:06Speaker 2: Yes.
- 9:06Speaker 5: It's their defense makes up for a lot of holes.
- 9:11Speaker 5: If you can stop the run game and make Bo
- 9:13Speaker 5: Nix beat you, you're going to hold them to very
- 9:15Speaker 5: little points. Yeah.
- 9:16Speaker 1: So Sam Darnold has thrown for 4,000 yards in back-to-back seasons.
- 9:21Speaker 2: Yes.
- 9:21Speaker 1: Trent Dilfer never threw for 3,000 yards.
- 9:23Speaker 2: There you go. Different time though. Different time.
- 9:27Speaker 5: I think, I think Sam Darnold in his worst game
- 9:31Speaker 5: out through what, uh, Trent Dilfer did in his entire
- 9:35Speaker 5: 2000 season when he won the Super Bowl.
- 9:36Speaker 4: Well, I'm just saying he pointed out the NFC Championship
- 9:38Speaker 4: game and how flawless he was.
- 9:39Speaker 2: Trent Dilfer never had that game. He didn't have to
- 9:41Speaker 2: have that game.
- 9:42Speaker 4: It was Jamal Lewis, Ray Lewis, and Ed Reed. I mean,
- 9:46Speaker 4: that was essentially the team.
- 9:47Speaker 2: Am I wrong, Mikey?
- 9:49Speaker 5: You're not. It was Jamal Lewis and Ray Lewis and
- 9:52Speaker 5: Ed Reed.
- 9:52Speaker 2: That's it. I'm not certain they ever scored.
- 9:56Speaker 4: Jonathan Ogden, but not blocking for Trent Dilfer.
- 10:00Speaker 5: No blocking for Jamal Lewis.
- 10:01Speaker 2: Thank you. Yes. So I don't know what to do
- 10:06Speaker 2: this all day. I know. I don't know what to
- 10:08Speaker 2: do with the Broncos team, man.
- 10:09Speaker 4: I don't know because again, they had beaten Jacksonville, the
- 10:13Speaker 4: Rams and Seattle. Seattle won the Superbowl. The Rams were
- 10:19Speaker 4: in the NFC championship game. And a lot of people
- 10:21Speaker 4: feel like Jacksonville is the best team in the NFL.
- 10:25Speaker 2: Who's the backup there. Is it still Stidham?
- 10:27Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 10:28Speaker 2: Would he be a better option?
- 10:30Speaker 5: No, we saw, we saw no.
- 10:32Speaker 1: At some point you have to consider like they play
- 10:37Speaker 1: in so many one score games and they're winning one
- 10:40Speaker 1: score games where the past two years now they're 15
- 10:44Speaker 1: and two in one score games. Eventually, the numbers say
- 10:49Speaker 1: that that has to even out, that you're not that
- 10:52Speaker 1: good at winning one-score games.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Right.
- 10:54Speaker 4: I mean, they held Seattle's offense in those wins to
- 10:56Speaker 4: 14 points.
- 10:57Speaker 2: They scored 17.
- 10:59Speaker 4: They held the Rams to 26 points, I guess, but
- 11:01Speaker 4: they scored 30 offensive outbursts in that game. And they
- 11:05Speaker 4: gave up 13 points to Jacksonville. I mean, the defense
- 11:08Speaker 4: is really, really championship good. They're a quarterback away.
- 11:14Speaker 5: In that Rams game, didn't they have a defensive touchdown?
- 11:18Speaker 4: I think they did, yes. I mean, the defense is great.
- 11:20Speaker 4: And Sir Tam wasn't even playing last night, right?
- 11:22Speaker 5: No.
- 11:23Speaker 1: But nobody told Sam Darnold that.
- 11:27Speaker 2: He was seeing ghosts, though. I mean, fair to Sam.
- 11:29Speaker 2: Have you seen a ghost before, Taylor?
- 11:30Speaker 3: No.
- 11:31Speaker 2: Scary.
- 11:34Speaker 4: So, anyway, I don't know what to do with the Broncos, man.
- 11:36Speaker 4: Quarterbacks would kill to play there, right? I mean, they would, like,
- 11:40Speaker 4: Joe Flacco was thinking, get me out of here and
- 11:42Speaker 4: get me to Denver, right?
- 11:44Speaker 1: This is what we were saying a couple weeks ago. Now,
- 11:46Speaker 1: I do have to give credit to Mikey A for
- 11:47Speaker 1: being the bigger man here. I said that Sean Payton
- 11:52Speaker 1: would drive to New England and pick up Drake May
- 11:55Speaker 1: and drive back to Denver if he could have the
- 11:58Speaker 1: chance to have a franchise quarterback like Drake May. And
- 12:00Speaker 1: Mikey said, no, Sean Payton loves Bo Nix. Sean Payton
- 12:04Speaker 1: knows he can make it work with Bo Nix. That
- 12:08Speaker 1: take is aging like milk.
- 12:10Speaker 2: He's apologized.
- 12:12Speaker 5: Is he not making it work with Bo Nix? It
- 12:15Speaker 5: can be ugly as you want. They're four and two.
- 12:18Speaker 5: So I don't know how that take isn't aging. I mean,
- 12:21Speaker 5: me being on Bo Nix's train is bad.
- 12:24Speaker 2: It's insane. He's making it work.
- 12:26Speaker 4: They might have the largest amount of quality wins in
- 12:29Speaker 4: the NFL.
- 12:30Speaker 2: Those are three quality wins I just gave you. And
- 12:33Speaker 2: they beat the Chargers.
- 12:34Speaker 1: And Bo Nix is going to be eligible for a
- 12:36Speaker 1: contract extension after this season.
- 12:38Speaker 2: Over Sean Payton's dead body.
- 12:40Speaker 1: There's no way.
- 12:42Speaker 5: How does that conversation go?
- 12:44Speaker 2: Bo Nix walks in.
- 12:45Speaker 1: He goes, hey, remember my contract? And Sean Payton looks
- 12:49Speaker 1: at it and goes, and rips it in half. That
- 12:54Speaker 1: contract on the table, Sean Payton puts through a shredder.
- 12:57Speaker 2: Oh, God. Stugatz here. You guys know me.
- 12:59Speaker 4: I'm watching sports all weekend anyway. And there's nothing better

- 14:11Speaker 2: Mikey, what were you saying before we started here? You
- 14:13Speaker 2: had something on NFL primetime games. What is going on there?
- 14:17Speaker 5: So this kind of blew my mind, and I went
- 14:20Speaker 5: down a rabbit hole of trying to figure this out.
- 14:24Speaker 5: I want to go back 10 primetime games, okay?
- 14:27Speaker 2: Yep.
- 14:28Speaker 5: The Falcons are at the Packers. Do you remember what
- 14:31Speaker 5: we thought was going to happen in that game?
- 14:32Speaker 1: Packers were going to kill them.
- 14:34Speaker 5: Yep. Atlanta wins. That's Thursday night. Sunday night, Rams at Broncos.
- 14:39Speaker 2: We thought, pfft.
- 14:41Speaker 5: This Rams team, right?
- 14:42Speaker 2: Yep.
- 14:42Speaker 5: Broncos win. Next game, Eagles at Bears. Bears were going
- 14:48Speaker 5: with what? Backup quarterback, remember? Yep.
- 14:51Speaker 2: Who won? Bears. The Bears.
- 14:55Speaker 4: Yep.
- 14:55Speaker 5: Steelers at Browns. Who did we think was going to
- 14:58Speaker 5: dominate that game?
- 14:59Speaker 2: Aaron, Steelers.
- 15:01Speaker 5: Yep. Who won?
- 15:02Speaker 2: Browns.
- 15:03Speaker 5: Lions at Panthers. Who did we think was going to win?
- 15:06Speaker 2: I thought the Panthers. I thought the Panthers.
- 15:08Speaker 5: You thought the Panthers. Okay, what did Vegas think?
- 15:12Speaker 2: The Lions.
- 15:15Speaker 5: Falcons at Saints. It would be un-American to bet against
- 15:19Speaker 5: the Saints in that game, right?
- 15:20Speaker 1: That was when we were dead wrong.
- 15:22Speaker 5: Falcons win. Yes. Caden Daniels going to Dallas. What did
- 15:28Speaker 5: we think was going to happen in that game?
- 15:29Speaker 3: Dallas.
- 15:29Speaker 5: Dallas. Tampa wins.
- 15:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:33Speaker 5: Ravens at Falcons. This Falcons team is back, right? This
- 15:36Speaker 5: Falcons team is everything. And they're starting Snoop Huntley.
- 15:39Speaker 2: Yeah, but Snoop, I mean. Who was favored? Yeah, I know.
- 15:44Speaker 2: The Falcons. Who won? There's a pattern here. I get it.
- 15:50Speaker 5: Going back. Going back to Monday night. Bills at Rams.
- 15:53Speaker 5: Who was favored?
- 15:54Speaker 2: The Rams.
- 15:55Speaker 5: Who won?
- 15:56Speaker 2: The Bills. Classic.
- 15:57Speaker 5: Last night.
- 15:58Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 15:59Speaker 5: Seahawks are two and a half point favorites.
- 16:02Speaker 2: Who won? Broncos with a bad quarterback.
- 16:06Speaker 5: The last 10 primetime games have been won outright by
- 16:11Speaker 5: the underdog.
- 16:12Speaker 1: So if we look to Sunday night football, the Packers
- 16:16Speaker 1: are a one and a half point favorite against the Cowboys.
- 16:18Speaker 1: And it feels like the consensus is that this Cowboys
- 16:22Speaker 1: team is being left for dead. the green Bay Packers
- 16:25Speaker 1: figured something out against the Chicago bears. You're saying the
- 16:28Speaker 1: Cowboys are going to win or are the Packers now
- 16:30Speaker 1: do as, as the favorite.
- 16:33Speaker 5: No, I'm, I'm taking, I'm going to, I'm going to
- 16:35Speaker 5: ride this train until it bucks me. And Monday night
- 16:38Speaker 5: is when it's really going to get tested because that's
- 16:42Speaker 5: commanders 49ers. And it's going to be hard to bet
- 16:45Speaker 5: the commanders to win outright in that game.
- 16:47Speaker 2: Right? So you're going to do it. You're going to
- 16:50Speaker 2: stay with it until it, until it bucks you.
- 16:53Speaker 5: Ride it till it bucks you.
- 16:54Speaker 2: Right, or fucks.
- 16:57Speaker 5: You.
- 16:57Speaker 1: You said Monday night football is the real test. If
- 17:00Speaker 1: the test fails on Sunday, does the test carry over
- 17:03Speaker 1: to Monday?
- 17:04Speaker 2: No, no, no. You cash that out quickly.
- 17:07Speaker 5: You cash that out quickly.
- 17:14Speaker 2: Call him Izzy. So many follow-ups. But that was a
- 17:17Speaker 2: really good question. Yes, I was thinking the same thing myself, actually. Oh, God.
- 17:23Speaker 4: The Bear will be on with us for God Bless Football.
- 17:27Speaker 4: Discussion about the expansion of a 2014 playoff. We're going
- 17:30Speaker 4: to have Matt Viscursion on as well. What did you
- 17:33Speaker 4: guys make of the baseball last night? The Dodgers get
- 17:35Speaker 4: swept by the Brewers.
- 17:37Speaker 2: They had a lead in all four of the games. Yesterday.
- 17:40Speaker 1: was the hate watch of all hate watches for me yesterday.
- 17:44Speaker 1: When I'm watching the Dodgers, and I'm watching this Dodger
- 17:47Speaker 1: team getting ready to get swept, Mikey, I prayed my
- 17:52Speaker 1: hardest on the Dodgers downfall, and the big man upstairs said, Taylor,
- 17:57Speaker 1: you've been.
- 17:58Speaker 5: Great this year.
- 17:59Speaker 2: You deserve one.
- 18:01Speaker 1: I've let you down a couple of times this year.
- 18:03Speaker 1: I gave you some of the toughest battles watching your
- 18:06Speaker 1: Yankee team.
- 18:06Speaker 2: Yes.
- 18:07Speaker 1: I've got you tonight. The Dodgers, we're getting them up
- 18:10Speaker 1: and out of the playoffs.
- 18:11Speaker 2: We're not going to give them hope. We're not going
- 18:13Speaker 2: to give them another home game.
- 18:14Speaker 1: The hope was the Otani home run. That's one where
- 18:20Speaker 1: I sign up for all the time, where it's like,
- 18:22Speaker 1: Otani hits a home run, you have Joe Davis on
- 18:24Speaker 1: the call going crazy.
- 18:26Speaker 2: Otani went crazy. Yes, yes.
- 18:28Speaker 1: I don't think we've ever seen that kind of emotion
- 18:30Speaker 1: from Otani.
- 18:31Speaker 2: No.
- 18:31Speaker 1: Where in that moment, I kind of did get scared.
- 18:33Speaker 1: I was like, oh, no. If there's ever somebody who's
- 18:36Speaker 1: going to come back from down 3-0 besides... the Boston
- 18:39Speaker 1: Red Sox in 2003 or 2004, whenever they did that.
- 18:42Speaker 5: Right.
- 18:42Speaker 4: But you want someone, that's a tricky spot for you
- 18:44Speaker 4: guys because you want someone else to come back from 3-0. Yeah,
- 18:47Speaker 4: but not the Dodgers.
- 18:48Speaker 2: But not the Dodgers. Not the Dodgers. Somebody else.
- 18:52Speaker 1: But Otani hits that home run and it's like, oh,
- 18:54Speaker 1: you see the life coming back in Dodger Stadium. I
- 18:58Speaker 1: think if you ask Dodgers fans today, they would have
- 19:00Speaker 1: rather just gotten blown out from that game, from like
- 19:03Speaker 1: the start. Like, Glasnow comes out uncompetitive.
- 19:05Speaker 5: Yes.
- 19:06Speaker 1: They're out of it from the first inning. That Otani
- 19:08Speaker 1: home run gave them hope, and the hope killed them.
- 19:10Speaker 2: So you're saying Dodger fans, they could have done without
- 19:12Speaker 2: the hope last night. Yes. Just beat us 19 to nothing.
- 19:15Speaker 1: Yes, and they had the perfect amount of hope for
- 19:18Speaker 1: me as I'm sitting with my popcorn on my couch.
- 19:22Speaker 5: 4-0 early in the game with an Otani home run
- 19:27Speaker 5: that he pimps, and then all of a sudden you go, hey,
- 19:31Speaker 5: we're going to turn the pitching rotation over.
- 19:33Speaker 2: We're going to get Schuble back.
- 19:35Speaker 5: We're going to go get our aces back on the mound.
- 19:37Speaker 2: Yamamoto. We're going to be right back in this thing.
- 19:40Speaker 5: Nope.
- 19:41Speaker 2: Yeah, but didn't you guys like that? I love that.
- 19:43Speaker 2: I mean, they were provided with hope. They were excited.
- 19:45Speaker 4: They were envisioning a fifth game, a sixth game, a
- 19:49Speaker 4: seventh game, and then the Brewers swatted them over the head.
- 19:52Speaker 4: I mean, you have to like that if you're a
- 19:53Speaker 4: Yankee fan and you hate the Dodgers, right?
- 19:55Speaker 1: Yeah, I invited Dave Roberts to sit on my couch
- 19:57Speaker 1: right next to me.
- 19:58Speaker 2: And Aaron Boone.
- 20:00Speaker 5: For the record, Taylor, we're Brewers fans for the remainder
- 20:04Speaker 5: of the postseason.
- 20:05Speaker 2: I love the Brewers.
- 20:05Speaker 5: We have been.
- 20:06Speaker 2: Yes.
- 20:07Speaker 1: I could get behind this Guardians team.
- 20:08Speaker 2: I can't. No, the Brewers. Come on, man. No, no, no.
- 20:12Speaker 5: I've had too many ugly ALCS and DS matchups with
- 20:16Speaker 5: this Guardians, with the Cleveland baseball teams in my lifetime.
- 20:20Speaker 5: To never want to root for them.
- 20:21Speaker 2: Dave Robertson.
- 20:22Speaker 5: Get your midges out of here.
- 20:23Speaker 2: Sits next to me on the couch. I mean, the
- 20:25Speaker 2: guy's won the last two World Series.
- 20:29Speaker 5: If anything, you'd probably want to go to his place.
- 20:30Speaker 2: Probably a better couch. Probably nicer. Yeah, probably a nicer place.
- 20:34Speaker 1: We were watching Guardians raise yesterday, Mikey, during the radio show.
- 20:39Speaker 1: The Guardians get a basically a go-ahead two-run home run
- 20:44Speaker 1: from their rookie Petey Halpin. Petey Halpin sounds like a name.
- 20:48Speaker 1: taken out of like the 1920s baseball.
- 20:51Speaker 2: Oh yeah. Like Pee Wee Reese.
- 20:53Speaker 1: Like Petey Halpin makes $ 75 a week playing for the
- 20:57Speaker 1: Cleveland Guardians.
- 20:58Speaker 5: Petey Halpin has it.
- 21:00Speaker 1: And he works at the sawmill into the off season.
- 21:03Speaker 5: Petey Halpin catches the ball and covers it up tighter
- 21:07Speaker 5: than the lid on a pickle jar.
- 21:12Speaker 2: What a bad World Series Major League Baseball he's going
- 21:16Speaker 2: to have. I'm so sorry. Oh, God. But we have
- 21:21Speaker 2: to root for the Brewers. I love the Brewers. Come on.
- 21:23Speaker 2: They beat the Dodgers.
- 21:24Speaker 4: By extension, if you love the Yankees, hate the Dodgers,
- 21:27Speaker 4: you guys have to be rooting for.
- 21:28Speaker 2: The Brew crew.
- 21:29Speaker 3: I am.
- 21:30Speaker 2: Okay.
- 21:31Speaker 1: Anybody but the Rays.
- 21:36Speaker 2: It was exciting.
- 21:37Speaker 4: You know, the Dodgers had a man on third one
- 21:40Speaker 4: out the last three innings and couldn't get him home.
- 21:41Speaker 4: They did one run to tie, and they just couldn't
- 21:43Speaker 4: get it done.
- 21:44Speaker 5: You know what would have helped them?
- 21:46Speaker 2: What?
- 21:47Speaker 5: Playing a little Brewer ball.
- 21:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:50Speaker 2: Or Aaron Judge. The Dodgers don't need any more help.
- 21:58Speaker 4: Like you're saying small ball would have helped them, but
- 22:00Speaker 4: they don't need help.
- 22:01Speaker 2: I mean, they're paying more money. This is a big win.
- 22:03Speaker 2: This was apparently, but.
- 22:05Speaker 5: Yes, but anybody who has tickets to game five would
- 22:07Speaker 5: tell you they might need a little more help.
- 22:09Speaker 2: Right. But big win for, for the players. No, am
- 22:11Speaker 2: I getting this wrong?
- 22:13Speaker 4: Cause the players could say, Hey, it doesn't matter if
- 22:15Speaker 4: there's a salary cap or not right now, there's not
- 22:18Speaker 4: a cap.
- 22:18Speaker 2: The owners are going to want one.
- 22:20Speaker 4: The players could say, look, we traded for school bowl
- 22:23Speaker 4: and the Dodgers who spent more money than anyone. They
- 22:25Speaker 4: lost to the brewers who didn't trade for school bowl.
- 22:28Speaker 2: Right.
- 22:29Speaker 1: Yeah, the owners needed the Dodgers to win the World
- 22:31Speaker 1: Series to kind of strengthen their salary cap proposal.
- 22:35Speaker 2: Yeah, so the Dodgers did a good job by getting swept.
- 22:39Speaker 1: Now they'll be able to offer Tarek Skubal $ 700 million
- 22:43Speaker 1: deferred for the next three centuries.
- 22:46Speaker 2: But it guarantees nothing. That's the point.
