- 1:55you know what it is. That's Young and rubacam and I know ad agency.
- 2:00Okay, well that's what it is. I mean, listen, I
- 2:02come from an advertising background back way back in my day. I used to
- 2:07work at J Walter Thompson. I used to know all of the ad Yeah
- 2:12it's big no in Detroit, in Detroit, oh my god. But also
- 2:16with voiceover. You know, my commercial voiceover career is just I've worked with
- 2:20so many of the big ad agencies and Y and R was such a big
- 2:23one, and so my god, my mother was the head of human resources
- 2:30North America for Ogilvy and Maither for years. Really whoa, oh my gosh,
- 2:36head of h R. That's intense because the ship goes down in advertising,
- 2:40like talk about just I mean, you know you've all seen oh my
- 2:46god, why can't I think of the big the big show of John Hannon.
- 2:49Thank you, Jantham, Mead met Uh can you imagine being I mean,
- 2:53age and R did not exist, I'm sure back then, but like
- 2:57you know, things were still a little tawdry up through like the sixties,
- 3:00seventies, eighties, nineties. I mean, and things probably still are on
- 3:05some level, but I mean not like they were. I remember like good
- 3:08old days. No oh, I remember. I know the good old days,
- 3:12people just smoking in the hall, drinking martini lunches. Anyway, I'm
- 3:19so happy to see you. This is very exciting, so happy. I'm
- 3:22loving your podcast. You are killing it. I don't miss an episode.

- 4:05so there'll be a great episode you guys will listen to and hear the news.
- 4:11Now, before we get into our New York recap, I have to
- 4:15tell you about the collagen that I take. I did not realize that there's
- 4:20a difference between collagens. I thought every collagen was made the same. But
- 4:25just so you know, that is not true. The collagen I take has
- 4:29made a huge difference in my hair, skin, and nails. It's the
- 4:32only bioidentical collagen on the market, which means that it mimics what we make
- 4:40naturally and it triggers collagen production. So the absorption rate you're going to get
- 4:45with this collagen is over ninety percent. That's why people usually see lots of
- 4:49difference so quickly, and that's why I noticed my skin. Are you looking
- 4:54at it? If you're watching this, it looks incredible and you need to
- 4:57touch me whatever it is immediately because I I'm going to change a mama needs
- 5:00some collagen. I'm telling you, and I know that collagen is like kind
- 5:04of a trendy thing, but there's a reason for it. And again this
- 5:10is you're gonna get unmatched results from this one across the board. I have
- 5:14my own discount link if you'd like to try it. There's also a thirty
- 5:16day money back guarantee. That's how much they believe in their products. So
- 5:20you can go to my podcast notes and click on that link, or you
- 5:24can go to modare dot com m O D E r E dot com and
- 5:28my corporate code is attached to that, which is three three six five one
- 5:31eighty three, and you'll get a ten dollars off discount. Okay, only
- 5:35medical grade collegen on the market, honey, all right, I'm literally putting
- 5:41collagen in my calendar right now. I'm just okay, I'll text you the
- 5:44link. I mean, obsessed. Your skin is frickin' perfect. I can
- 5:48see every pore. I don't know what camera we got going here, but
- 5:51wow, it is inted. So I'm like, someone needs Also, Eliza
- 5:57is not even being paid to promote this, but no, I really,
- 6:01I really believe in it. I don't talk about things that I don't use
- 6:03and I believe in, and that is hands down the ultimate truth. So
- 6:09all right, let's get into our New York recap. I'm so happy to
- 6:12finally be talking to you about New York. You and I have been on
- 6:14a journey about this for a long time, and I want to know,
- 6:17like you getting into this, were you like broad Strokes, you know,
- 6:23were you ready to embrace this new cast? Were you hesitant? Were your
- 6:27thoughts because you're not You're not just going to watch anything, Eliza. I
- 6:30tried. I've tried to get you to watch some things and you straight up
- 6:32told me no. Right. It took me, Listen, you know long
- 6:35it took me to watch vanderpupp and I regret every moment I wasn't watching it,
- 6:40right, that's right, ridiculous anyway, So it's an interesting question about
- 6:45New York because I'm going to be completely honest, which was I didn't want
- 6:47to see it. I just was not excited to dig in. But I
- 6:50thought, eh, everyone's gonna watch it. I got to be part of
- 6:54the zeitgeist, Okay, And I'm really happy I did. I am enjoying
- 6:58it. Listen, I don't think it's amazing. Yet I'm not like flipping
- 7:01out over it, right, some people are, Yeah, I'm flipping pleasantly
- 7:05Surprised by the first episode. I was like, I really enjoyed that episode.
- 7:09Then I thought, like they went too quick to the Hampton's What I
- 7:14what I really appreciate. Here's what I like. That's a really good point.
- 7:16Actually, yeah, wait, why are you guys already in the Hampton's
- 7:19pleasant? It's freezing where they just like, oh, the season's almost over,
- 7:24we have to and it was already off since it was way over.
- 7:26I remember. So right, here's what I like about this iteration. I
- 7:30think part of it it's so hard because it has nothing to do with Ronie
- 7:35So, I mean starting other that it's in New York like it's so I
- 7:39think it should almost be called something else, like like ladies in the City.
- 7:43It's like hot ladies, like they're all gorgeous. It's much more glamorous
- 7:47and chic. It's so chic. It is we have a Jory Kemsley drop.
- 7:53It's like so chic Jade Lee. It's like every restaurant did you notice
- 8:01that last night? Like our Sunday night, Like every restaurant because we had
- 8:03like the Upper east Side krusty our girls like you. There was like Bethany
- 8:09who was downtown, and Carol, but they were a bit of a different
- 8:11vibe. But overall it was like an older Upper east Side and that was
- 8:15like a specific New York. It should be called the Carrols because they're but
- 8:18just like a bunch of Carrols kind of, except she's so laid back.
- 8:22You're so right lazy. These women are so chic. They've got you know,
- 8:28fabulous apartments, fabulous wardrobes. They go to like the chicest coffee shops.
- 8:33So I'm really appreciating the money, the glamour and the very drop downtown.
- 8:39Yeah, exactly. And even the titles the main cars, Yes,
- 8:45those are like very cool, very chic, very wind shime chic, very
- 8:50wind chime. Look at that dog collar, So I really like that.
- 8:54And that are you talking about Jenna's strap? Is that what you mean?
- 9:00I think from Jamie about like like the opening credits with Jenna Lyons and she
- 9:07does have like some sort of leather strap in between. But I love it.
- 9:11Okay, So let me just talk about Jenni for a seconds. So,
- 9:13okay, I didn't ask, but can I talk about Jennifer. Let's
- 9:16let's talk about her all episode. Jenna is the shekst. She really is.
- 9:22Like, if I could have anyone's style in the entire world, I
- 9:26want it to be Jenna's. Like oh her, Yeah, Like I feel
- 9:30like my inner lesbian is ready to come out, like I didn't. I
- 9:33didn't know I had one. But I want her wardrobe. I don't know
- 9:37if it's but I don't even know if it's lesbian war. Okay, it's
- 9:39not. I mean as hell, I don't know. I don't know because
- 9:43like, yeah, probably not. It's just incredible, so spending time in
- 9:46her closet. She's definitely in her own show. I actually am not as
- 9:50like into her as a housewife as everybody else seems to be. She's a
- 9:56little too quirky for me, Like she doesn't fit in and she's not friends
- 10:00with any of these women. I feel like she's the round peg in a
- 10:03square hole. I didn't watch her a little bit of her HBO show You
- 10:07Know Where. She was kind of uncomfortable in that show too, even though
- 10:11that was more in her elements, right, right, she is a weird,
- 10:13uncomfortable. But if I could just like if the show was Jenna's closet,
- 10:18Yeah, I could just spend time in that closet and her pulling looks.
- 10:22I'm in as far as we're on the show, I'm not sold.
- 10:26And then did you see the scenes from next week where she's like, I'm
- 10:28single again? Because the whole thing was that. Did you see it or
- 10:31know? No? I don't remember. Well I thought I saw scenes from
- 10:35next week, but I do not remember that. It just washed over me
- 10:37like a shower. Yeah, she's like they're at that event with the anniversary
- 10:43party and she was like, I'm single again. They're like, oh my
- 10:45god, how many weeks? She was like a few weeks. But we've
- 10:48never seen that met her serious girlfriend that allegedly they're together still, I don't
- 10:52even know. So they have gone in Instagram official, so she has put
- 10:54her out there. That annoys me. It annoys me that she's left this
- 11:00massive chunk of her life and that she's been allowed to do that like it's
- 11:03one thing for kids, which I understand, you know, especially in these
- 11:07were like stuff. It just goes to show how much Bravo wanted Jenna Lyons
- 11:13that they would allow her to leave that out. They wouldn't have they wouldn't
- 11:16have agreed to that with any any housewife. It was because she was such
- 11:20a catch, because I mean, if it wasn't for her, she's really
- 11:24one of the she's the kingpin I think of the show. She's the most
- 11:28recognizable, she has, the most notoriety. She has. She's really the
- 11:33first full time housewife that is a lesbian, you know. I mean Julia
- 11:39from Miami also is. But you know, that's also one of those things
- 11:43that she's not on what they weren't on Bravo when they started, they were
- 11:46just on Peacock, so technically, you know, and she's such a staple
- 11:50of New York that I think they were like, whatever you want to do,
- 11:54whatever you want to do. But I actually think next season, I
- 11:56think that her partner will be on because she looks like it was a slow
- 12:01burn and now she's posting her on Instagram and perhaps she will be a part
- 12:05of the show. Who knows she a photographer. Yeah, she's a photographer.
- 12:09Yeah that's what I thought. Yeah, I'm into it, Like I
- 12:11would love like that whole because I want to see like power lesbian downtown New
- 12:16York. Yeah, I want that scene. I totally agree. I'm all,
- 12:22I'm like, that's what. And I just feel like we're not really
- 12:24getting much with her now. I don't know, maybe we just had to
- 12:26wait till she was you know, comfortable. I mean, as as we
- 12:28can tell, she's very uncomfortable even in her own shoes, like even in
- 12:33her own millions of pairs of shoes. But I don't want to say uncomfortable.
- 12:37Maybe just like her, she's so quirky, her her personality is just
- 12:41like I just I can't. I'm I just I don't, you know,
- 12:46it's it's and it's very endearing, but maybe it just took She's like,
- 12:52she's not gonna jump into a cold pool of water. She's the kind of
- 12:54person who's gonna go one, you know, toe to time. And Bravo
- 12:56was probably like, look, take your time when you're ready, you know,
- 13:01so hopefully we get that else. I think you make such a great
- 13:03point. And her friend that came over and they were doing this whole thing
- 13:07with her closet. I was like, this is great, you know,
- 13:11Heather or whatever. I mean, I don't know who she is, but
- 13:13these are the kinds of people that I want to see she was giving me
- 13:16and again this is a dated reference, but she was giving me such Glenn
- 13:20close face vibe. I knew you were going to say that I love you
- 13:24so much. I was like, I know her, this is she.
- 13:31She is so New York, that woman in the best way. I'm like,
- 13:33bring me that curly hair with that funky like white tucked out shirt,
- 13:39like I loved it. Did you notice how she changed blazers midway through the
- 13:41scenes. Stop it. I screenshotted ice, screenshot it, Send it to
- 13:46me immediately. I need to get eyes on that. So she switched into
- 13:50like Jenna's one of Jenna's. Well, that's the thing. First I thought
- 13:54it was to you know, they filmed on different days, but apopholder,
- 13:58No, it's okay, we're good. Closer. Look, I'm trying to
- 14:01pull up my pictures. It was she had the same shirt on. She
- 14:05just decided to switch from a black blazer to a brown blazer. She said,
- 14:11fuck it here, wait, is there a chat or no? Could
- 14:15I oh sure? Oh no, text it to me. I don't know.
- 14:22Yeah, she just midway through the scene, She's just just like,
- 14:24you know what I'm gonna wear. You think it was Jenna's blazer. That
- 14:28it has to be. It has to be because they're going through her clothes.
- 14:31She just threw on a brown blazer. I just texted it. She
- 14:35brought a brown blazer with her. Oh yeah, right out of Jenna's class.
- 14:39I was like, wait, wait, wait what I know. I
- 14:41so wanted her to like go have sex with Michael Douglas and the Tribeca left
- 14:46and like on the kitchen sink, I you are. I was right there
- 14:50in my mind. And also just the way that you know, she was
- 14:54talking. She was like, we sell this, we sell, we keep,
- 14:58we sell, we love. That is New York. My piano player
- 15:01for my CABARETI is totally like that. Like I'll text him and I'll be
- 15:07like, okay, I'm working on the tickets. He's like, we love,
- 15:09and then I and that, you know, I know, it's everything
- 15:16is like we hate this, we love this. This is so stupid.
- 15:20You're so stupid, that's what he'll say. I'll like fit, I'll do
- 15:22like a you know, I'll do a new number or whatever, and then
- 15:26he hasn't hear. He's like, you're so stupid. We love I love
- 15:31listen. I just kind of thought but I don't think you're watching just like
- 15:33that, are you? No? I'm not interested. This show is everything
- 15:39just like that wishes because one of my biggest my biggest problems was just like
- 15:43that, which is the most upsetting part of all, is that I don't
- 15:46feel like we're in New York. They bear like sex and the city New
- 15:50York was the fifth character. Like everything New York literally mean they filmed it
- 15:54in New York. This is filmed in New York, and I feel like
- 15:58it's a sound set, a sound stage with Warner Brothers lot. This show
- 16:02is New York is the seventh character, Like it is front and center.
- 16:06It's making me, and it's like not the New York it is now,
- 16:08which is kind of it's like New York from fifteen years ago that I miss,
- 16:14And so I am into that vibe that you know it like even like
- 16:19size Brooklyn townhouse. Yeah, salivate, salivating. I agree, the salivation
- 16:25level is high for New York. And that's the thing about where when they
- 16:30were like we're gonna recast, how's this gonna go, How's this gonna go?
- 16:33I was never really that worried, because, to be honest with you,
- 16:37New York will never fail because of the backdrop of the city. You
- 16:44cannot go wrong. You just can't. I mean, hotly, You're always
- 16:48gonna find, you know, chic women in New York no matter what,
- 16:51whether they know each other or they don't. And from the luks of the
- 16:53way that this show is even going, sometimes you're like, do they even
- 16:57know each other? The way that they keep playing me stupid ass games like
- 17:00let's play you know who did that? I do, Let's play I didn't
- 17:04say this, I said that? Which one did I say? It's just
- 17:07like those are the tropes that I don't necessarily need when you guys know each
- 17:11other. The sex talk a little annoying because it's so forced. I certainly
- 17:18didn't like leaving on that last note over at Jessel's place about like this long
- 17:22have you gotten on? You got? You're on your knees? Oh if
- 17:25you have you broken the celiet? Can we stop with the sex shaming?
- 17:29Well? And also like that was the end of the episode, like maybe
- 17:33a little nervous, like this is oh we got guys. Yeah, I
- 17:36gotta say, maybe it's controversial, maybe it's not, but I think Jessel's
- 17:38holding the whole show together right now, like without her, no one will
- 17:42we even have You are so right because they are having to lean into her
- 17:48drama, her lack of a sex life and and no shame in that game
- 17:52by the way, her being a bit and weird, like, I love
- 17:56it, I love it. I love the scene with her and Aaron.
- 17:57Yeah, yeah, we're talking. She just gets up and Aaron just goes
- 18:02she's a lunatic. So that was my favorite part of the episode because I
- 18:04would so do that. I love Erin. Aaron and Jessel are my favorites.
- 18:08They're great because they are They're getting that friction that we kind of need,
- 18:12and I think it's thanks to Aaron. Aaron seems like she knows what
- 18:17she's doing when it comes to house wiffery, like but in a natural way.
- 18:21She's not trying too hard. Like my issue with Ci is she's trying
- 18:25way too hard. Oh cis trying too hard? You're right. Erin isn't
- 18:29doesn't appear to be trying too hard, but she and she's Sia. She's
- 18:33low key trying too hard because there's no reason for her to be like to
- 18:37say things like, well, we're very different people, and the way you
- 18:41are sometimes this makes me uncomfortable. I mean, those are some pretty harsh
- 18:45words. But Jessel, you know, fortunately for her, is on the
- 18:49defense and can act, you know, react organically, which is great.
- 18:56I mean I have to say an iconic moment, yeah, and I hope
- 19:00it becomes bigger, but it probably won't. Is Jessel saying Tribeca is up
- 19:03and coming like Amy has in New Yorker. That is legitimately the fucking most
- 19:08hilarious thing I've ever heard. For Aaron to say that is the most ridiculous
- 19:12comment ever. It's not an understatement, no, I mean, Flushing Queens
- 19:18is up and coming, like, yes, Tribeca even the John John days,
- 19:22it was already cool, like I mean when Robert de Niro moved there,
- 19:26like right that, which was like coming like fifty years ago. I
- 19:30mean fifty years ago. It's truly fifty fifty fifty. I did not know
- 19:37where they were in that coffee shop because I didn't put it together that they
- 19:41were in Tribeca. So did you know when when they were did you know
- 19:45what area they were talking about when they were in that coffee shop? Because
- 19:48I didn't know they were in Tribeca because that was like my area. Are
- 19:49they talking about it? I assumed. I can't remember why because maybe Aaron
- 19:52said She's like, oh, it's your neighborhood. I can't remember. But
- 19:56oh, that question what area of town does Jessel living because she's seems to
- 20:00have a loft, which was okay, downtown usually right, damn it because
- 20:04I I erased my notes from his first episode. But like, I'm still
- 20:08not tracked on where they all live. Oh, so we now know that
- 20:11Aaron lives in Tribeca. We know that Si lives in Brooklyn. Yeah,
- 20:17don't live about Uba. We know nothing about Uba nothing. Oh oh,
- 20:21Uba lives in Lincoln Wait, she lives in Square Washington Square, Lincoln Square.
- 20:26She lives near a park, Lincoln Park. Is it? No?
- 20:30Wait, Washington Square Parkquare Park. I think she lives there. Yeah,
- 20:34okay, so a lot of them live downtown, most of them, but
- 20:37Josill lives where where does? I don't know because she has a loft,
- 20:41so it's got to be Brooklyn. I think it's probably no, because she
- 20:45had to go over the Brooklyn Bridge in order to get to size. Remember
- 20:48she was in the car where they're twins and you're also by the way,
- 20:52you're not getting that many important people in fashion trekking to Brooklyn for an event.
- 20:55So she does. She definitely lives in Manhattan, Yeah she does.
- 20:57She lives in Brooklyn. Yeah, she just got that all white. Oh
- 21:00that that I was like, I can't that kind of decor is not like
- 21:08my thing at all, but I love to look at it. Yeah,
- 21:12I'm into her whole thing, like with her husband, like I love watching
- 21:15a train wreck about to happen or like like that. Everything about them is
- 21:19weird. Like I'm telling you, she is. Ye, she is what
- 21:23we need right now for that show to keep propelling for you are sorry she's
- 21:26the dark horse because it's like you know, when we were in the Hampton's
- 21:30and she's the little villain. Yeah, there were certain certain things that she
- 21:34was saying where I was like, Jessel needs to pop it up a notch
- 21:38because she's saying things that literally Ramona would say, but you would laugh when
- 21:45Ramona would say it, and you would also be like, you know,
- 21:48it would be blood curdling, but it would also be uh, it would
- 21:52be funny. So but when Jessel says it, You're like, eh,
- 21:56well, yeah, like if imagine Ramona getting that Christmas Tree not Neglige.
- 22:02She'd be like, this is the ugliest thing I've ever worn. Like it
- 22:04might be hilaria, but Jesse'll be like, I'll consund it. You're like,
- 22:08yeah, yes, it doesn't roll like it doesn't roll into comedy very
- 22:14well, but it's still giving something and we need that for sure. Like
- 22:18it's almost like she's got no self awareness, but she's also trying to be
- 22:22a good housewife at the same time, if that makes sense, Like she's
- 22:26not not aware of what she's doing, but she also is not aware at
- 22:30all. I can't explain it, Like I think her saying things like you're
- 22:34calling me a princess, you're calling me spoiled. I think she's doing she
- 22:37thinks she's doing something with that, Like, yes, she just said those
- 22:41lines, but that's not what's making her a good housewife. But she thinks
- 22:45it is. What's making her a good housewife is her freaking out about the
- 22:48neglig day not realizing it's fucking rude as hell and yang and why that's crazy?
- 22:57That is crazy. I also loved My favorite part was when she said
- 23:02to her husband Pavet, I love his name, by the way, and
- 23:03I love his like his whole demeanor is funny to the champagne with the carrot
- 23:07carot you that is, And she's like, what can you please stop embarrassed?
- 23:12Like you're embarrassing mate. Also that is so weird though, I mean
- 23:17weird. I just did this thing like a friend of mine over the summer.
- 23:21There she was like, oh I saw this thing on like Pinterest or
- 23:23Instagram and you put popsicles like fruit popsicles and a champagne glass. I was
- 23:27like, oh my god, that's amazing. And it was a so Santa
- 23:30Clarita day. So me and the Santa Clarita Bonitas were hanging out and we
- 23:37had we put these popsicles in our champagne and it was so delicious. So
- 23:41it makes it like a fruity flavor. It's slowly melting, but a carrot
- 23:47stick was are you really getting the carrot flavors? Are you just going to
- 23:51eat the can with a shamas? It was so funny, it was okay,
- 23:56So was stick it all right? That's fine. I didn't she had
- 24:00humor from it. I mean I thought, I think he's a goofball,
- 24:03okay, and I think he's it likes the cameras and I love it.
- 24:07I love it. I might pavet be a seventh past wife. Yes,
- 24:11okay, well let's talk about how it's all news to Aaron that Jessel has
- 24:18started working again, because this is what's funny to me. I was trying
- 24:22to pull back the curtain. I think the bigger issue was that this,
- 24:27like this party that Jessel was going to have at her house, the you
- 24:33know, for her her friend, who has the purses, who has the
- 24:37handbags. She wants to like see Asia, you know, she wants to
- 24:41get her name out there and stuff like that, and all of the proceeds
- 24:45will go towards impoverished children in India. Well, I think that she's now
- 24:51begun working again quote unquote for the show to get this event going at her
- 24:56house. But never said anything to Aerin or any buddy. So that was
- 25:00news to Erin. But Aaron being so offended by not knowing that she's working
- 25:04again was hilarious to me. And oh, I didn't know you working.
- 25:08I thought you were on a break. It's like, is did she do
- 25:11something wrong? It's like she was trying to get away with something. What
- 25:15did you read into that? I think I think it's Brian Moylan or somebody
- 25:18said that, like ninety nine percent of the fights on Housewives shows are about
- 25:22the show, and we are always confused because we don't understand that's what it's
- 25:26really about, is something yeah the show. Yeah, like the whole thing
- 25:30with not the deva from New York, but like with OC and that whole
- 25:33fight with Shannon was really about you're making more money than all of us and
- 25:37yet you're not telling the truth about what's happening with John and we're putting our
- 25:41lives out there and making half your salary, like you know, that's what's
- 25:45really about. And they can't say, yeah, I feel like with this,
- 25:47there's something else going on, like that has to do with the show,
- 25:51And I don't know enough about any of these women yet or the show
- 25:53to know what it is. But you're right because it didn't really make sense
- 25:56on his face, like who cares if someone's working again or not. I
- 26:00don't know, It's just it did seem like it was. Yeah, it
- 26:03seemed like, oh, oh, you're working again. How convenient that we
- 26:07just started filming a show, you know, like yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 26:10that's what it seemed like to me, And then Aaron being like,
- 26:11well, mazzle on starting your own business, but don't ever say that I
- 26:17don't build women up. And I thought, oh my gosh, we're because
- 26:21Jessel accused her of like not embracing women. She's like, well, I
- 26:26embrace women. I'm like, oh my god, this is the new you
- 26:29know, women supporting women. I thought, this is this is really meta,
- 26:33that this is how we're starting. Like one of the biggest you know,
- 26:37divisive tropes of all time is you don't support women? By the way,
- 26:44Yeah, she was so right. Oh oh, Ramona, Like I
- 26:51remember at the time being so offended on Bethany's behalf and it turns out like,
- 26:56no, he doesn't support anyone but Bethany. Sorry, sorry, you
- 27:00know, but I am so Bethany is so unhinged right now. I can't
- 27:04like, I literally cannot. Well, you don't agree with the act,
- 27:08but do you agree with the movement of trying to get well I'm not Oh
- 27:12sorry, sorry, yes, I agree with the movement, not the messenger.
- 27:15I think she could Okay, the worst she is and it taints everything,
- 27:22everything because it's not a lawsuit, it's a total publicity grab. It's
- 27:29completely disingenuous girl. You would not even be where you are because of Bravo.
- 27:33You pitch Bravo a show last week. You are, so she is.
- 27:37And by the way, somebody noted that for every client she brings on,
- 27:41she gets money if something goes forward. So it's just another scheme for
- 27:45Bethany. I find her to be repulsive at this point. Oh holy you
- 27:49heard it here on drama Dart. You want a drama darling, Darling,
- 27:52we got it. Okay, Well, don't come for me, Bethany.
- 27:56I don't want to hear from Mark Erragos. I absolutely agree that reality stars
- 28:02should have protections. I agree that they should unionize. I think that they
- 28:06should have done that a long time ago. I think that they should get
- 28:08residuals. I think that I think that they should try to come with it,
- 28:11come together with an agreement, and do it in a good way,
- 28:17not with threats, not with you know, in a negative light. The
- 28:19point is is that she's full of shit. I just don't buy anything she's
- 28:23selling. I think she's a complete schemer. I'm sorry, I do.
- 28:27I think she's all about the money and all about the attention, and I'm
- 28:32completely over her. But I just want to say one thing about that we
- 28:34can move on, because don't forget that I work an unscripted TV and most
- 28:40of my friends are production company owners, production company crew workers. So for
- 28:45me, I see the people working in my industry who still don't have a
- 28:49union getting you know, haven't had a pay bump in twenty years of working
- 28:53their asses off and working overtime every day and killing themselves for these shows.
- 28:57So the fact that they have no protection, and I'm not saying doesn't mean
- 29:02that the stars shouldn't have I'm just saying, we've been trying to do this
- 29:04for years and years and it still hasn't happened. So for Bethany to come
- 29:08along on our high horse and go and not even include the workers, okay,
- 29:15well, well that needs to happen as well. So look, I
- 29:18understand about the messenger thing. And so with that being said, I hope
- 29:23that that something can be done. I hope that the bright side comes out
- 29:27at some point and it's not and it doesn't ruin anything. That's that's my
- 29:32wish for this. And I agree with what you do. It's pivotal for
- 29:37people like you to have a voice in this. And so when you speak
- 29:41so strongly against it. It really makes me nervous and it really concerns me.
- 29:47But all right, well we'll discuss more because I'd like to pick your
- 29:49brain. Also, off Drama, Darling. I only do things on drama,
- 29:56Darling. I'm sorry, I only make drama on drama Darling, Rama
- 30:00Darling. All right, Well, so now Brandon, Sy and Aaron meet
- 30:03up for coffee, and now Brann is taking lessons as an adult that she
- 30:08couldn't do as a child. And I find this to be really really sweet.
- 30:12I've seen this happen with a lot of people where you know, they
- 30:15didn't have these opportunities when they were younger, and so now they're really diving
- 30:19into basically kind of not realliving their childhood, but like taking advantage of the
- 30:26opportunities that they're able to have as an adult by you know, taking music
- 30:30lessons or this chess thing that she's doing and going in part being a part
- 30:34of this chess tournament, which was adorable but very Queen's gambit, Oh my
- 30:41god, very very very so. Also in this scene, they all agree
- 30:47that Jessel doesn't own anything that she does, and size like she's got a
- 30:51lot going on something's going on with her and I just and they just all
- 30:52agree, you know, you just got to own up your own you have
- 30:55to own your stuff. And I'm like, oh god, ladies, we
- 31:00got a this is where we're really like we're grinding the gears here and I'm
- 31:03going, oh God, like I'm getting a little bit worried. But let's
- 31:08discuss also Brinn's story, because when we began with this episode, we did
- 31:14pick up with her telling her story at the Yes, that's my favorite part.
- 31:18Yeah, like what were you what were your thoughts on on her story?
- 31:23Really upsetting. I'm really glad she opened up because she seemed kind of
- 31:27like a caricature before she did, and I was like, what is Brinn?
- 31:32Like, who is she? What is she about? But now it
- 31:33makes sense. I feel excuse me, I feel like people like her that
- 31:38it was a generalization, but who come from that much trauma? They kind
- 31:42of again generalization. But I think in her case, she kind of like
- 31:47invented a character almost like a person, because who she was, you know,
- 31:52like, how do you even have a sense of self or anything when
- 31:56you come from that type of upbringing, right, you have to kind of
- 32:00create a persona of maybe who you want to be or who you think you
- 32:02should be. And a lot of people do that in New York or LA.
- 32:07It's like it's a chance to kind of reinvent yourself and be great.
- 32:10Okay, well I'm gonna be like the downtown cool woman who like loves men
- 32:15and fashion. And so I don't know, jury's out on Brinn. I
- 32:21mean, I'm glad that she shared. It really endeared me to her,
- 32:22but she's also trying too hard for my opinion. In my opinion, yeah,
- 32:28she's a lot. She's a lot. She's a lot. She's gives
- 32:32me also like sixteen candles, eighties vies and I like that very relatable.
- 32:37I love that you just her hair, the side pony. I'm like,
- 32:42I'm feeling like, you know, a John Hughes movie here, yes,
- 32:45right that even the wardrobe, like that jumpsuit with the pearls, and like,
- 32:50I don't know what you're doing, but I do like it. Oh
- 32:52my god, very Molly Ringwald, as you are right, that is really
- 32:55a good point. Oh wow, that was interesting to hear. God well,
- 33:04and I gonna say interesting, but will her grandmother adopt them? And
- 33:08she was in first grade and she drank a bottle of dimatap because she wanted
- 33:14to sleep forever, and that just made me well up with tears and was
- 33:19one of the most heartbreaking things I think any across all you Know franchises has
- 33:24ever said really heavy. To have that kind of awareness when you're that young,
- 33:31that you don't want to, you know, move live and just not
- 33:38face the world. I can't imagine that kind of heartbreak. I can't imagine
- 33:43that kind of brokenness. And it is truly truly a miracle that that she
- 33:50came from that situation, those circumstances, and as they all embraced her and
- 33:55celebrated who she was today, that she is some credible woman, that she's
- 34:01kind and she's warm, and look at what she's done with her life and
- 34:06her I mean, really, she's claiming that so much of it is a
- 34:09choice. You know, she's chosen happiness. She it's so much easier to
- 34:15choose happiness, and it's better to choose happiness, but to have to to
- 34:20live the journey that she had is just just simply heartbreaking. Her dad when
- 34:27she she got a call from him in high school and that he was dying
- 34:30in the hospital, of sclerosis and that he said that every day he would
- 34:37look in the mirror, what is it sterrhosis of the liver. I think
- 34:39you're right, it is not sclerosis. That would be uh, that would
- 34:45be totally wrong. I cried though. That was very very emotional, Like
- 34:52I was like that, and the fact that she was there for him like
- 34:57that, Wow, I would have been like fuck you, but like kudos
- 35:00to her, you know, like it was. It was intense. It
- 35:04was really intense, and I like those moments. I wish there were more
- 35:07of them, you know, with each individual woman too, Like I just
- 35:13want to know more. Like Uba, I just feel like what's going on
- 35:15there? Like she's adorable, but like what is she? Yeah? Uba
- 35:20hot sauce. I mean that's the size hard right right. So I had
- 35:24that moment in the Hampton's, which I liked, and she was like five
- 35:28and dime store when you grow up poor, you don't like she became like
- 35:30a different person. I was like, yeah, that's and then quickly it
- 35:32got back to like look at my Fendy, look at my Chanel, look
- 35:36at my Jimmy Cheo's. I'm like, girl, I can't stop. That
- 35:39was this influencer thing when she's just pulling out everything in the like she's like,
- 35:47I'm gonna be on real house as in New York, so make sure
- 35:50that all of these brands that are the most high end semis they were high
- 35:53end. I mean, I was pretty I was frank that that was coordinated
- 35:57for the show. It had to be. Come on, she's my way.
- 36:00You've never heard of her. I've never heard of her either. But
- 36:04the thing is she was probably one of the first, like to really make
- 36:08it big. So once you have that's that's my opinion. When she was
- 36:14like, okay, I was, you know, I started this website on
- 36:17my own. I you know, I could do coding, and then I
- 36:20did this Mommy and Me space thing like she was in on the ground floor
- 36:22BuzzFeed this article and then she's just built it from there. I mean,
- 36:29if you're in early, I think that you're pretty set. But again I
- 36:32agree with you. I was like, I don't I don't know, but
- 36:35there's a ton of I don't follow, like a bunch of fashion intruans.
- 36:38Like when I'll click on somebody because somebody will tap them or whatever, and
- 36:42I'm like, who's that? And I'll see like two hundred and fifty thousand
- 36:44fives. I'm like, yeah, never who I know. I don't even
- 36:47understand what they do. I am always blown away. That doesn't really mean
- 36:51anything necessarily, it's it doesn't it's kind of I don't know. I just
- 36:53I'm not really into her right now, so she'll have to show me to
- 36:57get me. Like, there's nothing that is in dear me to her so
- 37:00far. Sorry, no, no, except for her story when she shared
- 37:04at the fire pit. But yeah, right now, it's a little like
- 37:07it's very one dimensional. It's the versace row, which really is the ugliest
- 37:13thing I've ever seen. Do you know, God, it looked like Rocky
- 37:17Balboa. Yeah, I was like, are we going into the boxing ring?
- 37:22I mean, but like the victory toious secret like get ready thing.
- 37:25I was like, dang, this is some serious But now that you're mentioning
- 37:29it, she could have put a like they know what they're doing. They
- 37:31could have reached out and been like four real housewives, like, you know,
- 37:36let's get some big names in here. They probably did that. She's
- 37:38got a brand manager, she has an editor and attorney in an accountant.
- 37:47She's not messing around. She offers health insurance. That was cool. Oh
- 37:52my god. I had a note about that. I had a note about
- 37:55that. I said, what did I say, So I offers health insurance.
- 38:00I was like, dang, I haven't had health insurance through my last
- 38:05job at all. But that's pretty impressive. You know. I have like
- 38:08three notes on the whole episode hand jobs are back, Oh my god,
- 38:13which was good to know. I didn't know that. Yeah, close,
- 38:19JENNI friend being Glenn close. And then so I has health insurance, like
- 38:22for health insurance. And those were the things that stuck out to me.
- 38:25Uba and the short guys with tall girls that thing. I was like,
- 38:30Okay, this joke is going on very long. At this party, by
- 38:34the way, at Jessel's in the Know consultancy launch, which I'm very confused
- 38:42about, but it's fine. You had a lot of people show up,
- 38:45had some I was like, damn, shocked, damn. And Brent was
- 38:52very you know, just knocked out, knocked out by that vote. Calmness.
- 38:59Yeah, I was red tattoos. That was something else, But that
- 39:02was impressive. I was definitely excited to see that she did have a lot
- 39:07of support there. Very very surprised, and I was I was impressed too.
- 39:10She's obviously somebody. She's somebody. Lynn Jaeger, a Vogue fashion columnist.
- 39:16Yeah, that name's familiar. It is okay, Oh my god.
- 39:20How about when Aaron arrives erin again? This is a good like she stirs
- 39:24it up. Jessel's like, oh, I'm so sorry. You know about
- 39:27how things went at coffee, and Aaron's like, I wanted to make an
- 39:31effort even though the baby doesn't feel good, and I wanted you to know
- 39:37I support your endeavor. It's like coh, really laying it on thick.
- 39:44But what how about the temperature being at one hundred and seven? That was
- 39:49wait, I don't remember that. Aaron's son. She said, oh sorry,
- 39:52I thought you met the temperature in the room. Oh yeah, oh
- 39:57my god, I was at ten times. And I'm like I would have
- 40:00freaked out too. I know that's but also like, why do we even
- 40:05trust thermometers? That's a sign, it's a well. I agree. Those
- 40:08are so confusing because you got that the forehead ones. I gave up on
- 40:12those because when I took Maddie the urgent care, They're like, no,
- 40:15the one in the ear is really the one that's the right temperature then,
- 40:19so we have the ear one. Then the last time she had a high
- 40:22fever and we took her to urgent care, they were like, once we
- 40:25got in the room, he's like, under the tongue is really the exact
- 40:30one because the ear one can tend to be a little high. And I
- 40:31was like, well, what stopped you be accurate? I mean back in
- 40:37the day day they would do it in the old tush Oh, the old
- 40:39tissy. Oh yeah, oh yeah, the yelsers. Okay, what else,
- 40:46consultancy launch. Oh, let's talk about Jenna's tree decorating and how they're
- 40:51trying to make something out of that because she said she had an event so
- 40:54she couldn't come to the consultancy launch party. Yeah, that's what I mean.
- 40:59Like, it's just that's the best you got. You're gonna have to
- 41:01do better. Sorry, that was really rough. That was really rough,
- 41:05and I wasn't okay. I know I'm gonna get hate drama darlings, don't
- 41:08give me hate, but the whole Jenna Christmas tree, like I was just
- 41:14like bored, Like I'm like, what am I even watching? Stop?
- 41:17I'm not entertained. I don't think it's cute. Or funny or like silly
- 41:22or adorable. Like I was just like put me back in the closet,
- 41:25or like don't bring me in storage unit or nothing. Yeah, like I
- 41:30just am just not interested in Jenna decorating her tree and throwing things at the
- 41:35tree. It was just like, this is not cute to me. It
- 41:37was, you know, I liked being there, I liked being in her
- 41:42apartment. I'm happy being in her apartment. I'm okay with being in her
- 41:45apartment. I love the jumpsuits. Yeah, the tree looked amazing, and
- 41:54but yeah, you know, it's not the most compelling scene, but that
- 41:59is what it is. I don't know, but herself not in the Christmas
- 42:01spirit yet, that's probably part of it. Like it's summer here, so
- 42:05I'm just like it's it's just not hitting. It's not hitting. Like I'm
- 42:08not ready for my Hallmark movies. I'm not ready for decorating a tree.
- 42:13Like it's just I still need to I need even an early fall vibe.
- 42:16I don't know, I can't. I can never do like a Christmas in
- 42:20July vibe. I'm just not that I'm not into that at all. Speaking
- 42:23of it, shall we transition to Crappy Lake. Yes, we shall.
- 42:28Oh my gosh, thank you for that. Christmas in July. Christmas in
- 42:31July, Crappy Lake. We I mean, first of all, just to
- 42:36like begin with a leaf blowing moment between the two. It's so comical.
- 42:43It's great, it's great. I do know what they're doing. They're so
- 42:46good share they really are, and they're making it so fun. And like
- 42:52my favorite part of the whole show is that they dress to the nines to
- 42:57like literally leave the motel. And I know that's part of this, but
- 43:00I love it and it's just hilarious. Like it's it's really you know.
- 43:07I was thinking about this last night from a produce from a producorial point of
- 43:12view, Yes, what's genius about the show is that it's it has a
- 43:15loose format that allows it to be an unscripted sitcom, which is very genius
- 43:21because it's not a follow doc. The conceit of the show has dropped them,
- 43:24you know, it's simple life. However, the organized format is this
- 43:30checklist, which gives it a spine, and it allows them to do these
- 43:36comedy scenes within a format, so that every episode is going to be part
- 43:39of the checklist. I'm like home Run. I mean, from a producer
- 43:44to I mean you. For for you to articulate that that perfectly is so
- 43:49brilliant. That is why this show partly is so successful. Lessons learned producers
- 43:57out there like this is the way to do it. Hey, let's just
- 44:00drop them in this town and this crappy motel and see what happens. You're
- 44:04not gonna you have to you have to produce it, and you have to
- 44:07and the scenes themselves. That's what's so good about it. It's like the
- 44:13lines aren't rehearsed, but you get comedy gold because you have two brilliant comedians,
- 44:19yes, comedians. You know. I can't help but always think about,
- 44:25you know, Christopher Guest and his movie totally. This really is the
- 44:30actual the structure for his movies, the characters straight out of his movies.
- 44:36And I often wonder to myself, I wonder what he would think, or
- 44:40any of the cast members that are in his movies, what they would think
- 44:45of this show. Would they be like, oh, would they appreciate it?
- 44:50It's what you do? Another sorry, Another thing that why this show
- 44:53works so brilliantly is that I think what people thought or maybe what I thought
- 44:59it was good to be is, you know, the two New York Upper
- 45:02east Side ladies go to the town and like roll their eyes at all the
- 45:05bumble fucks, and instead it's the opposite, and they're like, who are
- 45:08these two lunatics that are coming in our town? And the cutaway shots that
- 45:13are like, I mean at the brilliance of it is like they're the two
- 45:16idiots. Yeah, they're the village idiots and the townspeople are the good one.
- 45:22Like it's yes, so smart, but it's all from a place of
- 45:25love, yeah, and a place of celebration and nothing fun of anybody.
- 45:30And in a way because they're doing things for the town, which is so
- 45:34nice, they're building them up and they have a great attitude about it.
- 45:38Exactly. It's so sweet, Like even I was catching up last night,
- 45:42even the playground scene when they installed the new playground, Like it's genuinely like
- 45:45a beautiful moment where everybody is moved by doing something really great for the town.
- 45:52I'm like, yes, And then the comedy comes with her extra long
- 45:54speech that is completely self centered and it's like Cat the Rabbin, all right,
- 46:00but the chemistry, I mean, it is so hard to find.
- 46:07Yeah, that genuine not just chemistry, but they really truly love and appreciate
- 46:13each other. Yeah, and can rag on each other and have a sense
- 46:15of humor about each other like this is. I don't know two other women
- 46:19in the whole Bravo universe that could necessarily pull off what they're doing. Do
- 46:22you. I don't, And I've said that I've had I've preached that from
- 46:25the pulpit that you couldn't do this again, you know, like you could
- 46:30do it again, but it's never going to be as good as this.
- 46:34There are no two others there just are. There's no two others that's to
- 46:37ever do it. The goats, you know, they people would like to
- 46:40think there could be. I mean, the Trace Amigas could give them a
- 46:44run for their money. I will say that, however, but I don't
- 46:50find them that entertaining. Sorry, well, I saw their show this past
- 46:53weekend and they did a great job. They did. I'm not saying they
- 46:59couldn't do a great job. I just I'm not that into their vibe.
- 47:04No, I understand, I understand like it's And the other thing is that
- 47:07you know they met on the show Sonya and Lou have known each other before
- 47:10the show, and there's something about that history of like real friendship, not
- 47:15like let's go. I was out trace megas whoop it up, Like I'm
- 47:20sorry, I just I can't, And I like, I love Shannon and
- 47:23I think, actually, Shannon, I don't know who she would be paired,
- 47:28but but Shannon has this quality we're talking about Shannon does. Yeah,
- 47:31she is a comedian. She is fucking hilarious. Yeah, but I don't
- 47:37think that tamram VICKI I I don't think they're funny. Huh, Okay,
- 47:42sorry, well, I I encourage you to see The Trace a Mega's show
- 47:46when they tour it, because they do this video, the Trace of Boilists,
- 47:51and they have like these video interstitials and it's a it's a longer like
- 47:54video and they are going around and there I can't. I don't want to
- 47:58give it all away because it genuinely is please don't. In fact, you're
- 48:01like, I don't want to know, and it's genuinely funny. And I
- 48:06was like this so that I could see them being in the same kind of
- 48:08structure. But Okay. One of the things that I loved about this episode
- 48:14is when when Craig sees them coming for the Christmas in July thing and he's
- 48:19like, they pulled up and they looked like the hooker's like just coming down
- 48:22there. Oh my god, they did. It was hilarious. I'm like,
- 48:27they literally looked like Halloween hookers, so funny. Your heart out is
- 48:34ten fifteen, right or is it ten? It's like ten oh five?
- 48:37Okay, great, No, that's fine, So okay, but let's just
- 48:42talk about Paula Abduel the late this. Oh my god, y'all, Oh
- 48:45my god, is showing up. My god, she is showing up and
- 48:47she is showing surprised. I was shocked. Well, I was surprised last
- 48:52week when I saw the trend. Oh no, I knew that she was
- 48:54coming, but I mean originally when I saw that she was coming, I
- 48:59was absolutely shocked, absolutely shocked. Yeah, I know, I had no,
- 49:01I hadn't seen the trailer, so I was like, I thought it
- 49:04was gonna be dernda. I really did. I mean the fact that she
- 49:07did this and she was genuinely teaching these dancers, it was like. And
- 49:10also, Paula is popping up everywhere lately. I don't know what the deal
- 49:15is, what's what's this publicity style? She can move those hips like I'm
- 49:20sorry them watching her and miming the moves with her. But wait, Amy,
- 49:25did you catch I wrote this down? This was my favorite moment,
- 49:29and this is little things that make it gold. Yes, when they're walking
- 49:34in and Paula and they're like, oh, you got to see these girls
- 49:37are so great, and Paula goes, oh, I like being around talent,
- 49:39and lou goes, don't we all like being around talent? It was
- 49:45such a classic clue, like it's just you have to know that, Yeah,
- 49:52don't we all like being around? He? I died. My favorite
- 49:55part about this whole episode was when they finally revealed the Sonya and Luanne sweets
- 50:01at the motel and and they got new gutters and new paint your carpet and
- 50:07new sinks, new closets and made it even look that much better? So
- 50:09did they really didn't? Those beds are which said before, which is the
- 50:13That's what I wept thinking too, But God love them. I mean the
- 50:15carpeting, look the carpeting and new sinks. That was great. And I
- 50:19did see the closet was different. That was great. But when Sonya was
- 50:22like when they see the new beds and it's just the frame and Sonya's like,
- 50:25I'll be one buzz again. And then she goes underneath the bed and
- 50:30she's like, I was like, honey, come gaddy, could you bring
- 50:32me a muffin and my makeup kit? Lou Luanne, nobody came to pick
- 50:37oh up. She left him flip flops and then then the guy pulls her
- 50:42out by her ankles and drags her across the floor. She doesn't miss a
- 50:45beat and she pops right up and that's a ball could never never and it's
- 50:52a standing oe all across and and then I love Then. The second favorite
- 50:57was when Luanne did the plug for Walmart and she's in her room with those
- 51:00pink baby bedspreads and she's like, and then we got this table tray from
- 51:04my new favorite store, Walmart. My favorites are the one I told you
- 51:09we're saying that to Paula, and then when when Sonia goes when Paula is
- 51:14teaching the girls and she was amazing and goes, she's really teaching these kids
- 51:19things. Oh how about when Sonya was like, I look like M and
- 51:22M and then she says rapping. I was like, is that a rap
- 51:28that was? It's incredible, It's incredible. It really is gold And they
- 51:32they barely like register the comedy like from each other because it's just so normal
- 51:38to you know what I mean, Like they know, it's just they I
- 51:43hope they both each got like two million dollars because this is this is award
- 51:47winning I mean, from one producer to the world. I think that you
- 51:52you think it. Yeah, So Alisa rosen please plug your stuff where people
- 51:58can find everything you do because you're incredible. Oh my god, you are.
