- 0:40Speaker 3: co host at the Great Adam Kaplan, and we are
- 0:43Speaker 3: live here from Chicki's and Petez on Roosevelt Boulevard. And
- 0:47Speaker 3: your Philadelphia Eagles improved to eight and two with a
- 0:50Speaker 3: tremendous defensive performance beating the Detroit Lions sixteen to nine.
- 0:55Speaker 3: And it may not have been esthetically pleasing, it may
- 0:59Speaker 3: have looked like game that would have taken place somewhere
- 1:02Speaker 3: in the nineteen nineties, but that was one of the
- 1:05Speaker 3: best defensive performances that I've seen, and I think that group,
- 1:09Speaker 3: led by Vic Fangio deserves a lot of credit, and
- 1:11Speaker 3: we'll get to the offense later on in the program,
- 1:13Speaker 3: but I want to focus right now on the defense
- 1:16Speaker 3: and the performance that they were able to have against
- 1:19Speaker 3: a high power Detroit Lions offense that entered Lincoln Financial
- 1:22Speaker 3: Field averaging thirty one point four points per game. For perspective,
- 1:28Speaker 3: the Eagles held quarterback Jared Goff to an average of
- 1:32Speaker 3: thirty He completed an average of thirty seven point eight
- 1:35Speaker 3: percent of his passes. Now, Jay when Hurts completed just
- 1:38Speaker 3: fifty percent, But I think you have to look at
- 1:41Speaker 3: from the early stages of that game, he never looked comfortable.
- 1:45Speaker 3: And my biggest takeaway from this game was the transition,
- 1:50Speaker 3: the transformation, if you will, of this Eagles defense and
- 1:54Speaker 3: the pressure that they're that they've been able to put
- 1:56Speaker 3: on Jordan Love in Green Bay and pressure they put
- 2:00Speaker 3: on Jared Goff. It's no mistake that it happened to
- 2:03Speaker 3: coincide with the arrival of newly acquired pass rusher Jalen Phillips,
- 2:07Speaker 3: who picked up his first sack as an Eagle on
- 2:11Speaker 3: Sunday night, but also the insertion of Nakobe Dean in
- 2:15Speaker 3: this defense have sort of injected some life and physicality
- 2:19Speaker 3: and tenacity into this group. And I've talked a lot
- 2:22Speaker 3: about Nikobe Dean for those of you who have followed
- 2:24Speaker 3: my work, and for good reason, because I viewed him,
- 2:28Speaker 3: even dating back to last season, as the heartbeat of
- 2:31Speaker 3: the Eagles defense, and it seems like many are starting
- 2:33Speaker 3: to see it in the same way. And he's sort
- 2:37Speaker 3: of the quarterback out there. He's often the smartest player
- 2:40Speaker 3: on the field because he sees the game almost like
- 2:43Speaker 3: a coach does, and he processes and reads and diagnoses
- 2:47Speaker 3: so quickly. And he made some nice plays against the run,
- 2:51Speaker 3: but also in pass coverage where he had to attract
- 2:54Speaker 3: Jamiir Gibbs, who was one of the most explosive running
- 2:56Speaker 3: backs in the NFL, or Jamison Williams wide receiver, and
- 3:00Speaker 3: mon Ross Saint Brown. Jalen Phillips provides a lot of
- 3:05Speaker 3: pressure and there wasn't only jaywhen Phillips. They've now gotten
- 3:09Speaker 3: back Nolan Smith off injury reserve. That was his second
- 3:11Speaker 3: game back. He's starting to ramp up his snaps and
- 3:14Speaker 3: j Loox Hunt maybe put together his best game as
- 3:17Speaker 3: a pro all over the field.
- 3:19Speaker 2: Three quarterback hits in.
- 3:20Speaker 3: That game, and it also when you have a pass
- 3:23Speaker 3: rush like that, you ideally you want to marry your
- 3:26Speaker 3: rush and your cover and your coverage on the back end.
- 3:29Speaker 2: And the Eagles have.
- 3:30Speaker 3: Found the perfect balance and the perfect remedy in adding
- 3:33Speaker 3: someone like a Jaylen Phillips, because now you're allowing your
- 3:37Speaker 3: secondary to play a little bit more fast and free.
- 3:40Speaker 3: And you don't hear the name of an Adri Jackson
- 3:42Speaker 3: who settled into this second quarterback role. And I think
- 3:46Speaker 3: that's important to note here because Vic Vangiel earlier in
- 3:48Speaker 3: the week referred to Adri Jackson as a survivor. And
- 3:53Speaker 3: for someone who's lasted nine years in the league, I
- 3:55Speaker 3: know that he was scrutinized after Week one, and I
- 3:58Speaker 3: think a lot of that was unfair. You have to
- 4:00Speaker 3: allow players who are new to a team, or if
- 4:03Speaker 3: they're a rookie. He got to allowed time for things
- 4:05Speaker 3: to play out, and all of a sudden, when you
- 4:07Speaker 3: have the pass rush that the Eagles have, you're able
- 4:09Speaker 3: to mask some of those maybe sore spots if you will,
- 4:13Speaker 3: whether it's a Dori Jackson or a rookie safety. And
- 4:15Speaker 3: Drew mccuba and I think a Dori Jackson played really
- 4:19Speaker 3: well in that game.
- 4:21Speaker 2: He had the fourth down.
- 4:22Speaker 3: Stop where he blanketed a mom Ross Saint Brown in
- 4:24Speaker 3: the end zone on that fourth and three. It was
- 4:26Speaker 3: a savvy veteran move and I actually mentioned this to
- 4:28Speaker 3: a Dory after the game. I said, that was a
- 4:31Speaker 3: savvy move because you use the sideline as an extra
- 4:33Speaker 3: defender and you squeeze them, and he chuckled at that.
- 4:37Speaker 3: But he also made some nice tackles in that game.
- 4:39Speaker 3: And right now, what you're seeing is a defense that's
- 4:42Speaker 3: starting to hit it stride after the past two weeks,
- 4:45Speaker 3: and you can look at it and say, is this sustainable?
- 4:48Speaker 3: Can they continue to lean on this defense to propel
- 4:51Speaker 3: them forward without having the offensive performance to be able
- 4:55Speaker 3: to play complementary football and uplift them? And I would say, yes,
- 4:59Speaker 3: it is the state. But you can't always expect the
- 5:01Speaker 3: defense to pick up the tab for the offense. It's
- 5:04Speaker 3: too high powered. There's too many prolific players and standouts,
- 5:09Speaker 3: and we've seen it glimpses of what the offense can be,
- 5:11Speaker 3: but it hasn't been consistent enough. They haven't been able
- 5:14Speaker 3: to put together four consecutive quarters of Eagles football. Now,
- 5:18Speaker 3: the defense holding the Green Bay Packers to seven points
- 5:22Speaker 3: holding the Detroit Lions to nine points. I mean, that's
- 5:26Speaker 3: gonna win you most every game, but it's not realistic
- 5:28Speaker 3: and it's not fair to expect them to be able
- 5:30Speaker 3: to do that each and every week. But what you're
- 5:32Speaker 3: seeing right now, and I don't think it's hyperbole, is
- 5:35Speaker 3: a defense that is among the NFL's elite and quite
- 5:39Speaker 3: possibly the best defense in the NFL. And I don't
- 5:41Speaker 3: see them slowing down anytime soon. You can sort of
- 5:44Speaker 3: see the symbiotic relationship that they all have and they're
- 5:49Speaker 3: playing cohesively as a unit now.
- 5:52Speaker 2: From an offensive.
- 5:53Speaker 3: Standpoint, I look at it, and I don't I'm never
- 5:57Speaker 3: one to make excuse forward or look to pinpoint certain
- 6:03Speaker 3: things they have to play better, But I mean I
- 6:06Speaker 3: would be remiss if I didn't mention the wind that
- 6:08Speaker 3: impacted both quarterbacks. Jared Goff entered that game second in
- 6:12Speaker 3: the NFL in touchdown passes with twenty. I mentioned the
- 6:16Speaker 3: Lions averaging thirty one point four points going into that game.
- 6:20Speaker 3: He wasn't able to get anything going, nor was Jaywen Hurts,
- 6:23Speaker 3: at least in the passing game. AJ Brown was heavily
- 6:26Speaker 3: featured in this one, seven targets forty nine yards. I
- 6:31Speaker 3: didn't think that aj had a particularly good game, nor
- 6:33Speaker 3: do I think that Jay One Hurts had a particularly
- 6:34Speaker 3: good game. They weren't able to sustain anything in terms
- 6:37Speaker 3: of the ground attack with Saquon Barkley. And you have
- 6:41Speaker 3: to look at it. If you're the offense right now,
- 6:43Speaker 3: what can you hang your hat on. There isn't one
- 6:46Speaker 3: area that you that you can definitively say they're a
- 6:49Speaker 3: run first team, or they're a pass team, or they're
- 6:51Speaker 3: a team that knows how to grind out tough yards
- 6:53Speaker 3: in short yarded situations. They don't have an identity, but
- 6:57Speaker 3: it hasn't seemed to matter. They find ways to win
- 7:00Speaker 3: football games. And I understand that it isn't always esthetically pleasing,
- 7:04Speaker 3: but I think when you look going back to Nick
- 7:07Speaker 3: Sirianni's philosophy, what they want to do is play clean football,
- 7:11Speaker 3: meaning take care of the football, protect it, be risk averse,
- 7:14Speaker 3: and take your deep shots when you can when the
- 7:16Speaker 3: opportunity presents itself.
- 7:18Speaker 2: And they've done that.
- 7:19Speaker 3: They've had a remarkable track record of success dating back
- 7:22Speaker 3: to really Week six of last season. In fact, I
- 7:25Speaker 3: believe it's been five hundred and eighty eight Jalen Hurts
- 7:30Speaker 3: past attempts his last five hundred and eighty eight throws.
- 7:32Speaker 3: I think there's always been two interceptions, So that has
- 7:35Speaker 3: been a successful recipe for success for the Philadelphia Eagles. Now,
- 7:39Speaker 3: when you have that many resources invested in the offense,
- 7:42Speaker 3: I understand where the frustration sets it, believe me. But
- 7:46Speaker 3: I look at it through a different lens because I
- 7:49Speaker 3: cover the team. I'm there every day, and you can't
- 7:53Speaker 3: pinpoint it solely on Kevin Patula, the Eagles offensive coordinator.
- 7:55Speaker 3: I know he's the popular target right now, but I
- 7:58Speaker 3: think that that's a little short sight. Yes, the play
- 8:01Speaker 3: calling and sequencing needs to be better, and he's very
- 8:04Speaker 3: much learning on the job, but I also look at
- 8:07Speaker 3: the health status of the offensive line, which we're going
- 8:09Speaker 3: to get to in a moment. I also look at
- 8:12Speaker 3: their inability to run the football with any sort of success,
- 8:17Speaker 3: and foundationally, we all know that that's how the Eagles
- 8:19Speaker 3: are built, that's what they want to do, and what's
- 8:21Speaker 3: what they strive to do each and every week. So
- 8:23Speaker 3: when you can't do that, you're now reliant on the
- 8:26Speaker 3: passing game, which in the Saquon barque Era. There's been
- 8:29Speaker 3: no evidence to support the fact that support the notion
- 8:32Speaker 3: that they're supposed to be this dynamic, high flying passing attack.
- 8:35Speaker 3: So you look at the offensive line and the health
- 8:39Speaker 3: status there. Cam Jurgens, the center, left the game early,
- 8:42Speaker 3: so we're gonna have to wait on injury status for
- 8:44Speaker 3: him and Lane Johnson, which we're going to talk a
- 8:47Speaker 3: little bit more about.
- 8:48Speaker 2: In a moment here.
- 8:50Speaker 3: I mean, they're not able to generate any sort of
- 8:53Speaker 3: traction in the ground game. I mentioned the play calling
- 8:56Speaker 3: that needs to be better, and there are plays to
- 8:58Speaker 3: be made in the passing game that either Jalen Hurts
- 9:01Speaker 3: isn't getting rid of the football, he's not seeing it.
- 9:04Speaker 3: But I look at all those things and that is
- 9:08Speaker 3: the sort of the what's all baked into the offense
- 9:11Speaker 3: not playing to the standard in which they set for themselves.
- 9:15Speaker 3: So Cam Durgens, he got hurt later in that game.
- 9:19Speaker 3: He went into the game with a hefty brace on
- 9:23Speaker 3: his right knee. He missed the Giants game and he
- 9:26Speaker 3: missed the Packers game. Brett Toath started both of those games,
- 9:29Speaker 3: performed admirably. He had to play eleven snaps later in
- 9:32Speaker 3: the Detroit Lions game. His first snap with against that
- 9:36Speaker 3: it was in that push play. But you worry about
- 9:39Speaker 3: Cam Jurgens. I think you also have to look at
- 9:43Speaker 3: the Lane Johnson situation, and it's not as simple as
- 9:47Speaker 3: next man up, not when you're talking about someone like
- 9:50Speaker 3: Lane Johnson, because I believe the Eagles are fifteen and
- 9:53Speaker 3: twenty three without him.
- 9:54Speaker 2: And you can look at.
- 9:55Speaker 3: What Fred Johnson has been able to do stepping in,
- 9:58Speaker 3: and he's done a yeoman's job whenever he's been pressed
- 10:00Speaker 3: into service. But I look at Lane Johnson and what
- 10:04Speaker 3: he means to the photo of Eagles, what he's meant
- 10:06Speaker 3: to them since he was drafted back in twenty thirteen,
- 10:08Speaker 3: the best in the business of what he does, and
- 10:11Speaker 3: the team plays differently when he's in the lineup and
- 10:15Speaker 3: when he's not in the lineup.
- 10:16Speaker 2: So it looks like I know.
- 10:18Speaker 3: The immediate the initial timetable is four to six weeks
- 10:21Speaker 3: with the List franc injury that he sustained four weeks
- 10:24Speaker 3: is on the optimistic side, that is a very significant injury.
- 10:27Speaker 3: Now a lot needs to be determined as to a
- 10:31Speaker 3: full extent of it, but to not have him in there,
- 10:34Speaker 3: regardless of how efficient Fred Johnson has played when his
- 10:38Speaker 3: number has been called. It is something that we need
- 10:41Speaker 3: to be mindful of. And I look at the situation
- 10:46Speaker 3: right there and Fred Johnson in spot duty. I think
- 10:49Speaker 3: the Eagles were five to one last season in games
- 10:51Speaker 3: in which he had to start. This would be for
- 10:53Speaker 3: an extended period, and going against a team like, let's
- 10:56Speaker 3: say this week, like the Dallas Cowboys in a noisy,
- 10:58Speaker 3: raucous environment, that's something that could manifest early. You could
- 11:03Speaker 3: see some issues with protection up front early in that one,
- 11:07Speaker 3: but we'll have to wait and see what that all
- 11:09Speaker 3: means for Lane Johnson and for Cam Jurgens. He didn't
- 11:12Speaker 3: look quite right in that game. He wasn't making the
- 11:14Speaker 3: typical blocks and getting out in space and things that
- 11:16Speaker 3: he usually does. So I think if you're the Eagles
- 11:20Speaker 3: and you're really keeping an eye towards the stretch run,
- 11:23Speaker 3: I think it behooves them almost to sit Cam Jurgens
- 11:26Speaker 3: for a little bit.
- 11:27Speaker 2: And allow him to get healthy.
- 11:29Speaker 3: And it makes it a little bit easier when someone
- 11:31Speaker 3: like Brett Toath has performed well when he's had to
- 11:34Speaker 3: step in and just roll Brett Toth out there and
- 11:38Speaker 3: just sort of allow the key players like Cam Jurgens
- 11:42Speaker 3: and we'll see about Lane Johnson to get healthy. But
- 11:45Speaker 3: circling back to the defensive side of the ball, I
- 11:48Speaker 3: mentioned him the start and I'm going to continue to,
- 11:51Speaker 3: you know, to sort of champion this player, and that
- 11:54Speaker 3: is the Kobe Dean. I was out front of his
- 11:57Speaker 3: locker for about fifteen minutes when he spoke, for all
- 12:00Speaker 3: fifteen minutes that he spoke, and it's not hyperbole for
- 12:04Speaker 3: me to say that he is sort of the stick
- 12:08Speaker 3: of TNT that that defense needed to rep things up
- 12:11Speaker 3: and get it going, and him being that quarterback on
- 12:14Speaker 3: the field is totally invaluable. And Vic Vangil has a
- 12:19Speaker 3: lot of trust and confidence in Nakobe Dean. But one
- 12:22Speaker 3: thing that you talk to to Kobe Dean for about
- 12:25Speaker 3: five minutes, and you're gonna hear the word physical, physicality
- 12:28Speaker 3: and playing on their terms at least three times. At
- 12:32Speaker 3: least three times. That's something that he believes in. But
- 12:34Speaker 3: he isn't just say it.
- 12:35Speaker 2: He lives it.
- 12:36Speaker 3: And when he's out there on the field, I think
- 12:39Speaker 3: he sort of to kind of summarize how his mindset
- 12:42Speaker 3: is defensively when in doubt strikes somebody is what he says,
- 12:46Speaker 3: and I'll never forget what he said. As a linebacker,
- 12:49Speaker 3: you set the tone and he said, we run with
- 12:52Speaker 3: four to three and we bang with three fifty. So
- 12:56Speaker 3: that there's not a whole lot that needs to be
- 12:59Speaker 3: said about how he approaches that role, but it's more
- 13:03Speaker 3: so the how he plays opposite Zach Bonn, the mindset
- 13:06Speaker 3: that he brings and instills, the belief and the confidence
- 13:09Speaker 3: within that unit.
- 13:10Speaker 2: He can play the run.
- 13:11Speaker 3: He's very effective attacking downhill, that's what he really thrives
- 13:15Speaker 3: at doing. But he's also a good blitzer and we
- 13:18Speaker 3: saw that he can really thrive and coverage when given
- 13:21Speaker 3: the opportunity. And I guess the question that we're all
- 13:25Speaker 3: going to have moving forward, and Vic Fangio talked a
- 13:27Speaker 3: little bit about that today when he met with us
- 13:31Speaker 3: about the rotation at linebacker with which first round pick jahat Campbell.
- 13:35Speaker 3: That's something that you can expect to continue throughout the season,
- 13:38Speaker 3: and he said as much today. There's going to be
- 13:42Speaker 3: a role for Campbell and I believe he played twenty snaps,
- 13:44Speaker 3: which was a season low for him. The Kobe Dean
- 13:46Speaker 3: has really taken the mantle as that second off ball
- 13:49Speaker 3: linebacker opposite Zach Bonn.
- 13:51Speaker 2: And for jahat Campbell.
- 13:54Speaker 3: You always want to keep him involved because he has
- 13:56Speaker 3: made tangible strides as a rookie every single week. But
- 14:01Speaker 3: and you don't want to deprive him up snaps to
- 14:03Speaker 3: stunt his growth. But you have to look at when
- 14:05Speaker 3: Nakobe Dean has brought to the defense, and when you
- 14:08Speaker 3: look at it through that lens, it's almost impossible to
- 14:11Speaker 3: take him off the field. He's been an instrumental piece
- 14:14Speaker 3: as to why the defense over the past couple of
- 14:16Speaker 3: weeks has really start to hit their stride. And another
- 14:20Speaker 3: facet of this game that I found to be totally
- 14:22Speaker 3: fascinating was the batted passes at the line of scrimmage,
- 14:26Speaker 3: because Jordan Davis had three, Jayalen Carter had two, And
- 14:32Speaker 3: when Vic Fango was asked about that today, he said, well,
- 14:36Speaker 3: it wasn't implemented by me. That was Clint, meaning Clint Hurt,
- 14:38Speaker 3: the Eagles defensive line coach. They saw that opportunity that
- 14:42Speaker 3: Jared Goff was susceptible to some batted passes and the
- 14:45Speaker 3: Eagles pounced on that. That was one of those facets
- 14:49Speaker 3: in that game that I thought really hindered what the
- 14:52Speaker 3: Lions were able to do because there were times where
- 14:55Speaker 3: there were plays to be made and they weren't able
- 14:57Speaker 3: to do it because of those batted passes. And yes,
- 15:01Speaker 3: Dan Campbell and the Lions, they you got to give
- 15:04Speaker 3: them credit. There were a lot of questionable fourth down
- 15:07Speaker 3: decisions in there, but the Eagles held them to zero
- 15:09Speaker 3: for five on fourth down situations. I don't have the
- 15:12Speaker 3: numbers in front of me, but I have to imagine
- 15:14Speaker 3: that doesn't happen all that often. But I do give
- 15:17Speaker 3: credit to Dan Campbell because that's who he is, That's
- 15:20Speaker 3: who he's always been.
- 15:21Speaker 2: He is not risk averse.
- 15:23Speaker 3: He's aggressive sometimes that border is on reckless, but they
- 15:27Speaker 3: leaned into their ideologies and their philosophies.
- 15:30Speaker 2: So I give them a lout of credit there.
- 15:31Speaker 3: But you also have to tip your hat to the
- 15:33Speaker 3: Eagles defense for making plays. Now, there were times where
- 15:37Speaker 3: Jared Goff misfired or threw short. Whether it was a
- 15:40Speaker 3: Mom Ross, Saint Brown or Jamison Williams. Players were open,
- 15:44Speaker 3: or at least it didn't look as egregious because they
- 15:47Speaker 3: had an opportunity to be a successful play.
- 15:49Speaker 2: But the Eagles were all over it, and.
- 15:51Speaker 3: They almost seem to take that game personally, and I
- 15:54Speaker 3: look forward to talking to a lot of the guys
- 15:56Speaker 3: tomorrow when they have open locker room. But I was
- 15:58Speaker 3: thoroughly impressed with what they've been able to do, coming
- 16:01Speaker 3: together and all buying into the collective message of somebody
- 16:05Speaker 3: go out there and make a play and the rush
- 16:07Speaker 3: and the cover. They're able to marry that and that's
- 16:10Speaker 3: the ingredients that makes a good defense.
- 16:13Speaker 2: But we're gonna take a quick break.
- 16:15Speaker 3: We're gonna get into the injury report brought to you

- 18:16Speaker 1: We now returned to Chicky's and Peats for the Pro
- 18:20Speaker 1: Football Report presented by bc WSA.
- 18:23Speaker 2: Once again.
- 18:24Speaker 1: Here are your hosts from Inside the Birds, Adam Kaplan
- 18:28Speaker 1: and Andrew did check O.
- 18:31Speaker 2: Welcome back in everybody.
- 18:32Speaker 3: Andrew did Checko here as you just heard, Eagles beat
- 18:35Speaker 3: reporter for Inside the Birds dot Com. I will soon
- 18:37Speaker 3: be joined by Adam Kaplan, who's dealing with some traffic
- 18:41Speaker 3: at the moment. But we are live here from Chicki's
- 18:45Speaker 3: and Pizza on Roosevelt Boulevard. I had a lobster cheese steak,
- 18:48Speaker 3: which I highly recommend, and of course the Kraft Fries
- 18:51Speaker 3: come on out.
- 18:52Speaker 2: It's great, great crowd, and we're.
- 18:54Speaker 3: Here talking some Eagles football, as we do each each
- 18:57Speaker 3: and every Tuesday. And so I look at that game
- 19:00Speaker 3: against the Lions, and I understand that there's a lot
- 19:03Speaker 3: of a lot of questions, a lot of deliberation. At
- 19:06Speaker 3: least that's what I've observed in the days after that
- 19:09Speaker 3: game as to whether or not this is sustainable, And
- 19:13Speaker 3: what I will say is it is fair to expect
- 19:15Speaker 3: more and demand more from the offense. I don't think
- 19:18Speaker 3: asking for twenty or twenty four points, given the high
- 19:21Speaker 3: powered nature of their offense and what we've seen in
- 19:24Speaker 3: the past, is too much to ask. But it's kind
- 19:29Speaker 3: of hard to argue against what the Eagles have been
- 19:31Speaker 3: able to do. And again, I think it's awfully presumptuous
- 19:36Speaker 3: to expect the defense to be able to do what
- 19:38Speaker 3: they're doing week in and week out. But they've gotten
- 19:41Speaker 3: really spirited efforts from the defense and special teams while
- 19:45Speaker 3: the offense continues to.
- 19:47Speaker 2: Navigate and do what they can.
- 19:50Speaker 3: But the running game, to me, from an Eagles perspective,
- 19:54Speaker 3: is something that is a little bit confounding to me
- 19:58Speaker 3: because sa Quon Barkley is the same guy.
- 20:00Speaker 2: He hasn't lost a step.
- 20:02Speaker 3: He's hitting the whole hard, he's explosive, and I think
- 20:06Speaker 3: if you're if there is one area that you might
- 20:08Speaker 3: want to pinpoint, it's that sometimes it seems like he's pressing,
- 20:11Speaker 3: maybe that he's not taking what defenses are giving him,
- 20:15Speaker 3: but rather trying to hit the home run, and I
- 20:16Speaker 3: think that's fair. But I also look at the health
- 20:19Speaker 3: of the offensive line. There are things that the Eagles
- 20:22Speaker 3: can do to free some things up. I would like
- 20:26Speaker 3: to see some more outside runs where Saquon Barkley or
- 20:28Speaker 3: Tank Bixby have been really efficient hitting the perimeter. If
- 20:33Speaker 3: you're gonna look at it from a personnel standpoint, and
- 20:35Speaker 3: the Eagles win heavy twelve personnel in this game, which
- 20:37Speaker 3: means two tight ends and not as much eleven personnel,
- 20:41Speaker 3: which is an extra wide receiver, which which would be
- 20:43Speaker 3: Johan Dotson. I think you have to find ways to
- 20:47Speaker 3: shake things up if you're not going to if the
- 20:49Speaker 3: offense is what it is and they're not going to
- 20:51Speaker 3: be a whole lot of variation, I think you need
- 20:53Speaker 3: to find ways to incorporate someone like a Camlotu if
- 20:57Speaker 3: you're gonna go twelve personnel, who is a tight end
- 21:00Speaker 3: by trade, but a convert. He converted to fullback this season. Now,
- 21:04Speaker 3: Latu and I talked to Cam every week. That's my guy.
- 21:07Speaker 3: He's done a tremendous job on special teams, extremely physical,
- 21:11Speaker 3: but he's the Eagle's second best blocker at the tight
- 21:13Speaker 3: end position. But behind Dallas Goddor and it's not even close.
- 21:16Speaker 3: So he played one snap on offense against the Lions,
- 21:20Speaker 3: and it was the play where it looked like Saquon
- 21:22Speaker 3: bark We scored the touchdown. He laid a really nice
- 21:25Speaker 3: block on Aiden Hutchinson, but it ended up not being
- 21:28Speaker 3: a touchdown. But it underscores the importance of getting him
- 21:32Speaker 3: involved in the offense because when he is there, you
- 21:34Speaker 3: can see the impact that he can have, and so
- 21:38Speaker 3: I look at it. Grant kal Katara played thirty four
- 21:40Speaker 3: snaps in that game. Kylon Grantson played a bunch of
- 21:43Speaker 3: snaps in that game as well. But if you're gonna
- 21:45Speaker 3: go twelve personnel and you're going to commit to that,
- 21:48Speaker 3: I think it would serve the Eagles well to incorporate
- 21:52Speaker 3: a little bit more Cam Latu.
- 21:53Speaker 2: And we're joined by the great Adams jam Man. I
- 21:55Speaker 2: frobably got him, brother. It's been a long drive. How
- 21:58Speaker 2: you doing it? Do it? I couldn't see, boy, I
- 22:01Speaker 2: could use those are list crap price for the best,
- 22:03Speaker 2: but yeah, I couldn't see. Yeah. So and we'll we'll
- 22:07Speaker 2: we'll get into the press conference today, which I thought
- 22:09Speaker 2: were interesting. Vic Fantro is awesome. I mean he is.
- 22:12Speaker 2: He's funny. I mean he's entertaining, but he's informational. That's
- 22:15Speaker 2: the key to me. But uh yeah, So Andrew, one
- 22:19Speaker 2: thing I do want to ask you because I was
- 22:20Speaker 2: thinking about, Okay, what what do you want to get
- 22:22Speaker 2: into tonight with you? Because you could be you and
- 22:24Speaker 2: I tonight. So when you're in the locker room, right
- 22:28Speaker 2: and you see players come in, you know you for
- 22:30Speaker 2: the first time, what do you think of Jalen Phillips
- 22:33Speaker 2: size and funny question? Yeah, but I figured it enormous
- 22:36Speaker 2: and I want people to understand what you say, Larger
- 22:38Speaker 2: than advertised, but also stronger.
- 22:41Speaker 3: He was filled out physically, And I think Nikobe Dean
- 22:44Speaker 3: said it best. He lit up when he was asked
- 22:46Speaker 3: about Jalen Phillips after the game and he said, I
- 22:49Speaker 3: love edges who can set the edge.
- 22:51Speaker 2: Did he say it up?
- 22:52Speaker 3: Yeah, like he you know when you look at it,
- 22:55Speaker 3: When you look at it in terms of what that
- 22:56Speaker 3: means from overall linebacker play, when you're setting the edge
- 22:59Speaker 3: with violence and physicality, that allows whether it's Zach Bond
- 23:03Speaker 3: to Kobe Dean jahat Campbell to roam free and clean
- 23:05Speaker 3: things up and that's when they're playing at their best.
- 23:08Speaker 2: And for Jalen Phillips.
- 23:09Speaker 3: Who just has a knack for at least in the
- 23:11Speaker 3: two games that he's been here with the Eagles, sort
- 23:14Speaker 3: of surrounding quarterbacks like he smells blood in the water
- 23:17Speaker 3: like a shark. And he is physical, but he's he's
- 23:21Speaker 3: blend in. He blends in seamlessly with what the Eagles
- 23:24Speaker 3: are looking to do defensively, and that is be physical,
- 23:28Speaker 3: be tone setters, float to the football with urgency.
- 23:31Speaker 2: And he sort of embodies that.
- 23:33Speaker 3: And when I saw him for the first time, I
- 23:35Speaker 3: was like, oh, yeah, this guy's going to fit right in.
- 23:37Speaker 3: And he brings a size that was more akin to
- 23:40Speaker 3: what they had with Zadarius Smith or Josh Sweat or
- 23:43Speaker 3: Josh Sweat.
- 23:44Speaker 2: Yeah right, Sweaty was Sweaty was a good player. But
- 23:47Speaker 2: this kid, let's not forget first of all, he's a
- 23:49Speaker 2: first round pick. Right, had he not had two major injuries,
- 23:52Speaker 2: you talk of probably one of the better edtruschers in
- 23:54Speaker 2: the league. His tape has always been good, but he's
- 23:57Speaker 2: had two major injuries. But now he's healthy. I know
- 24:00Speaker 2: it's two games. People have to come down. Oh could
- 24:02Speaker 2: they extend his contract down to relax, let him play,
- 24:04Speaker 2: let him play the rest, let things play out. Yeah,
- 24:07Speaker 2: but it's a good you should feel great about him. Mean,
- 24:09Speaker 2: it's it's Eagles have a pretty good thing going. We'll
- 24:12Speaker 2: get to the offense later, but I think right now, Andrew,
- 24:15Speaker 2: based on why the defense is playing and because the
- 24:17Speaker 2: new thing is, could they be as good as last year?
- 24:19Speaker 2: Where your thoughts of that?
- 24:21Speaker 3: I think they're Honestly, I think they're better this version.
- 24:24Speaker 3: Really what I just saw from the last two weeks.
- 24:26Speaker 2: I know that's a lot.
- 24:27Speaker 3: Okay, I think they're better because I think they're right
- 24:30Speaker 3: the rush like this with just two weeks in with Jay,
- 24:33Speaker 3: when Phillips is looking this way, no one's just going
- 24:36Speaker 3: to continue to see an uptick in snaps. Yeah, and
- 24:38Speaker 3: I think Jay looks on Sunday night, played the best game,
- 24:40Speaker 3: played the best game that I've seen him play.
- 24:42Speaker 2: We're he's coming on, Andrew to the point where because
- 24:45Speaker 2: that's where I thought he could be a Josh Sweat
- 24:47Speaker 2: type length power plays the run, could rush the pass
- 24:50Speaker 2: a little bit, but his upside is so big because
- 24:54Speaker 2: it's all of a sudden, they we we went from
- 24:56Speaker 2: what we said in training cap. We've talked a lot
- 24:58Speaker 2: about it here on the Pro Football Report presented by
- 25:00Speaker 2: the Way by bcws A. We talked about it since
- 25:03Speaker 2: the summer. Oh boy, the Eagles Ed Trutch group not
- 25:06Speaker 2: very good. Nold Smith coming back from an injury. We
- 25:07Speaker 2: don't know exactly when he'll be ready. Jacks Hunter isn't
- 25:10Speaker 2: ready yet. We didn't know about Sadari Smith. Uh, there's
- 25:14Speaker 2: there's a lot we didn't know about the Ed Trutch group.
- 25:16Speaker 2: Now they have a lot of guy guys. In fact,
- 25:18Speaker 2: b G, I mean, I guess he's the fourth guy
- 25:20Speaker 2: right now.
- 25:20Speaker 3: Yeah, josh Usha for the second consecutive week played TIERO
- 25:23Speaker 3: defensive snaps. But another reason why I think it's even
- 25:27Speaker 3: better than it was last season is because teams can
- 25:29Speaker 3: no longer key on Jalen Carter and also Moro Jomo,
- 25:32Speaker 3: who leads the Eagles, I should say with four sacks,
- 25:36Speaker 3: is gives them more Jews from the interior than someone
- 25:38Speaker 3: like Milton Williams. Now, Milton Williams was a more complete player,
- 25:42Speaker 3: I think that's fair to say, but a Jomo is
- 25:44Speaker 3: very disruptive and violent from the interior, and QUINNYA.
- 25:49Speaker 2: Mitchell and Cooper dejan Or a year, you know, a
- 25:51Speaker 2: year wiser. True, and so yeah, I mean, queeny On
- 25:55Speaker 2: it's burn last year. I think I think he's better.
- 25:57Speaker 2: It's incredible, so.
- 25:58Speaker 3: That all you're proven point here, you're helping my point.
- 26:01Speaker 3: This is why I think that they're gonna they can
- 26:03Speaker 3: be better.
- 26:04Speaker 2: I know jeorig Jackson his best game as Illeagal. He
- 26:06Speaker 2: gave up some plays early, then he improved that pestros
- 26:08Speaker 2: helped him. I was thinking of this line. I was
- 26:11Speaker 2: trying to encapsulate. I think he should give the defensive
- 26:13Speaker 2: line a quarter of his pay. This past week, they dude,
- 26:16Speaker 2: they brought so much heat. It was Jared Goff hasn't
- 26:20Speaker 2: looked that bad in a long time. I know it
- 26:21Speaker 2: is windy. You were at the game. We'll get into
- 26:23Speaker 2: that as well, but holy smokes, Andrew, I was just
- 26:27Speaker 2: like this line. If they could choot into play like that,
- 26:29Speaker 2: because I know you're talking about last year and how
- 26:31Speaker 2: good it was last year, You're gonna help with George
- 26:33Speaker 2: Jackson big time.
- 26:34Speaker 3: And I think that's gonna be consistent because how many
- 26:36Speaker 3: times did you really hear his name called? Aside from
- 26:39Speaker 3: that fourth and three play that he had in the
- 26:41Speaker 3: end zone. And I know he gave up the touchdown.
- 26:43Speaker 3: He was in coverage on the Jamison Williams play. But
- 26:45Speaker 3: Jamison Williams is an explosive receiver who gets the best
- 26:48Speaker 3: out of a lot of corners. But Adam, we do
- 26:51Speaker 3: have to talk about the injuries along the offensive line.
- 26:54Speaker 2: Yes, all right, So let's get to the This week's
- 26:59Speaker 2: Injury View brought to you by the attorneys at Begley,
- 27:02Speaker 2: Carlin and Mandio. Contact them today for a free consultation.
- 27:06Speaker 2: At two one five it was six three six eight nine.
- 27:08Speaker 2: That's two one five eight was six three six eight nine.
- 27:12Speaker 2: All right, So let's get to the Eagles first year.
- 27:13Speaker 2: We'll do a little Cowboys later, all right. Slane Johnson, Right,
- 27:18Speaker 2: so he's got the sprain foot, he's got the list
- 27:20Speaker 2: franc Sprain, it's not the fracture. Now, what's interesting I
- 27:23Speaker 2: heard on the station you work for, the Fanatic this morning,
- 27:26Speaker 2: Jeff Jeff McClain did say, yes, the information is correct
- 27:31Speaker 2: in four to six weeks. That's my understanding, by the way,
- 27:33Speaker 2: but he made it. He had an interesting note. That's
- 27:36Speaker 2: without the testing coming back. Apparently the initial design examinations
- 27:41Speaker 2: to sprain. But there's so much swelling they can't at
- 27:43Speaker 2: the X ray. It's gonna take a week, I believe.
- 27:46Speaker 2: So if it's if it's a fracture, by the way
- 27:48Speaker 2: I I, it's actually called a rupture. So when we
- 27:51Speaker 2: had Mike mamol and I asked, Mike, that actually ended
- 27:54Speaker 2: his career. This is when this is before to Staley
- 27:57Speaker 2: had the list franc right, and this is the infant
- 28:00Speaker 2: have that injury and how they treat it, and and
- 28:03Speaker 2: deuces was crazy. He actually reinjured it. But this one
- 28:07Speaker 2: here is it's scary because Nikobe Dean had it two
- 28:10Speaker 2: years ago and an ended season. When you have it,
- 28:12Speaker 2: when you have a when you have it a procedure,
- 28:14Speaker 2: you're done. You're done. The only player to come back
- 28:19Speaker 2: early on this this surgery, the surgery, who is the
- 28:23Speaker 2: the because I talked to him about the Memphis receiver
- 28:26Speaker 2: who was drafting the fourth round by the Steelers a
- 28:29Speaker 2: couple years ago. Really short kid, Calvin Austin. Good call,
- 28:33Speaker 2: that was it. So I said to Calvin in training camp,
- 28:36Speaker 2: I said, Calvin, I don't know how you did. How
- 28:38Speaker 2: did you come back two months early? Because he goes, well,
- 28:41Speaker 2: they told me seven months or eight months. I said,
- 28:42Speaker 2: there's no way I'm coming. I'm gonna beat that timeline.
- 28:45Speaker 2: He beat it by two months. That's hard to do.
- 28:47Speaker 2: And I know he's a smaller player. He's not putting
- 28:49Speaker 2: the kind of weight on that someone like Lang would have.
- 28:51Speaker 2: But let's hope that it's not surgery. It's just, uh,
- 28:56Speaker 2: this the sprain of the midfoot. The liszt franc injury
- 29:00Speaker 2: is a mid foot spring A doctor told me years
- 29:02Speaker 2: ago when I first started covering the league in early
- 29:04Speaker 2: two thousands. It's an awkward injury. It separates into two
- 29:09Speaker 2: when you fracture it. It's awful when you do that.
- 29:13Speaker 2: So let's hope it's not. So that's Lane. Now, what
- 29:16Speaker 2: do you know about Cam Jergens had the knee injury,
- 29:17Speaker 2: then he left an in come back. Don't anything about
- 29:19Speaker 2: this thing.
- 29:19Speaker 3: Yeah, So another note on Lane Johnson. He's all for
- 29:22Speaker 3: Calvin Austin. He was also considerably younger.
- 29:25Speaker 2: Good way on the back. But it's still the same injury.
- 29:27Speaker 2: It could be for Lane. We'll see, Yeah, we'll wait
- 29:29Speaker 2: and see. And then for Cam Jurgens, they didn't.
- 29:32Speaker 3: They did never see him close because it was towards
- 29:35Speaker 3: the end of the game, correct, and I we'll learn
- 29:37Speaker 3: more tomorrow when the Eagles are back on the practice fields,
- 29:40Speaker 3: right and they have their first official report of the week.
- 29:42Speaker 3: But Brett Toth came in for the final eleven snaps
- 29:44Speaker 3: of that game. In fact, the first play that he
- 29:46Speaker 3: came in or was the push play, and I think,
- 29:49Speaker 3: if you're the Eagles.
- 29:50Speaker 2: I didn't agree with that, but go ahead up When
- 29:52Speaker 2: they did it, I was like, why would you do
- 29:53Speaker 2: this with a backup centers just coming to cold? But
- 29:55Speaker 2: what did you think about that?
- 29:57Speaker 3: This is just the way that I'm reading it right now,
- 29:59Speaker 3: and they have bigger goals than right now, and I
- 30:02Speaker 3: think knowing that Brett Toath can capably play center and
- 30:05Speaker 3: he's healthy, it might serve them well to shelve cam
- 30:10Speaker 3: for a little bit of time.
- 30:11Speaker 2: I was just at the fourth and one. What did
- 30:12Speaker 2: you think of that? Oh? I was still on the injuries. Uh, yeah, no,
- 30:15Speaker 2: I didn't. I didn't like it.
- 30:16Speaker 3: I mean, just don't don't give a team that has
- 30:18Speaker 3: nothing potential life and the way your defense is playing,
- 30:22Speaker 3: there's no knee to.
- 30:23Speaker 2: With Toast coming off the bench. I thought it was called.
- 30:24Speaker 2: But let's get back to Brett Toath. And we just
- 30:26Speaker 2: talked about jargons in the knee and we will find
- 30:29Speaker 2: out tomorrow, like you said after practice, what it is.
- 30:31Speaker 2: But so so, Brette, if you've you've gotten to know him,
- 30:33Speaker 2: you've covered him, that can you get head against the Giants?
- 30:36Speaker 2: I almost I almost passed out. I was blown away
- 30:39Speaker 2: by how well he played. But if he's got to
- 30:41Speaker 2: start this week at Dallas with Quinn Williams on the
- 30:45Speaker 2: other side, what are your thoughts? Yeah, well, first, I'm
- 30:48Speaker 2: a big Brett Toath guy.
- 30:49Speaker 3: You're not gonna find a smarter guy who's a nuclear
- 30:51Speaker 3: engineering major at an army and just talking to a
- 30:54Speaker 3: number of different teammates, he's just highly intelligent. But yeah,
- 30:58Speaker 3: that's gonna be an interesting matchup because the Cowboys are
- 31:00Speaker 3: playing a lot more physical with quinnin Williams. Then they're
- 31:02Speaker 3: doing some different things, so it's not the same defense
- 31:05Speaker 3: that they've rolled out back in Week one.
- 31:06Speaker 2: Yeah, the way more competitive on that side of the football. Now,
- 31:11Speaker 2: Cowboys Miles Sanders is out for the season. Yes, that
- 31:13Speaker 2: Miles Sanders, former Eagle second round pick, being an ancho
- 31:16Speaker 2: injury and there's no way he'll be back there next year.
- 31:18Speaker 2: He hadn't played well in a number of years really
- 31:20Speaker 2: since he left Philly and Trayvon Diggs. This odd. It's
- 31:25Speaker 2: not related to the nee. While he went on ir
- 31:27Speaker 2: he had a concussion supposedly at home. Very strange. That's odd. Yeah, yeah,
- 31:31Speaker 2: that was an odd one. Seavon Ravel you know well
- 31:34Speaker 2: about him.
- 31:35Speaker 3: Oh yeah, East Carolina tell us about him. He was
- 31:39Speaker 3: one of my favorite corners in this draft class. He's physical,
- 31:41Speaker 3: he's lengthy. Sometimes he can be a little too handsy,
- 31:44Speaker 3: but I really liked the way that he moves in
- 31:46Speaker 3: and out of his breaks, and he can match up
- 31:48Speaker 3: with all different types of receivers, and he's a really
- 31:50Speaker 3: smart football player.
- 31:52Speaker 2: They just got him back, I believe they did. He
- 31:54Speaker 2: played in the game. He played nineteen snaps against the Raiders.
- 32:00Speaker 2: You see, you have good size for vell. I can't remember.
- 32:02Speaker 2: I think he's six four. That's real. That's long, right,
- 32:05Speaker 2: uh to Marvin Overshown, This poor guy has had three
- 32:08Speaker 2: major knee injuries. But you know what a tremendous football player.
- 32:11Speaker 2: He played last night thirty one snaps against the Raiders.
- 32:14Speaker 2: Both played for the first time this season. They also
- 32:17Speaker 2: got one of their safeties off ir So The good
- 32:20Speaker 2: thing is, Andrew, Uh, the good thing is for the
- 32:23Speaker 2: Cowboys are getting healthy. And we'll talk more about the
- 32:26Speaker 2: matchup and the keys of the game on our next segment.

- 34:50Speaker 2: But one of the things that we love that you do.
- 34:52Speaker 2: You do this postgame pod. Tell people about that, Yeah,
- 34:56Speaker 2: immediately after the game.
- 34:57Speaker 3: I usually, if it's a home game, after lock room,
- 35:00Speaker 3: and it's just some of my immediate takeaways and observations
- 35:03Speaker 3: from the game, and it adds a little bit more
- 35:06Speaker 3: context after I'm able to talk to players sure afterwards
- 35:09Speaker 3: and get some of their explanations based off key things
- 35:12Speaker 3: that we that were in my observations. And I enjoy
- 35:15Speaker 3: doing it. It's always really good and I've gotten a
- 35:17Speaker 3: lot of really good feedback.
- 35:18Speaker 2: So keep it going, my friend. All right, So it's
- 35:20Speaker 2: time now for this week's Penworth Financial Keys to the Game.
- 35:24Speaker 2: The Key to your financial future is Penworth Financial. Call
- 35:27Speaker 2: them today at two sixty seven nine ninety seven four
- 35:29Speaker 2: five oh three, or visit them at Penworth dot com. So, Andrew,
- 35:33Speaker 2: keys of the game from our friends at Penworth Financial.
- 35:37Speaker 2: Let's start Eagles to win this game. Andrew, what do
- 35:39Speaker 2: Egles have to do on offense?
- 35:41Speaker 3: They have to protect upfront with Fred Johnson, they're at
- 35:43Speaker 3: right tackle. If you can't protect, you can't play offense.
- 35:46Speaker 3: And that's gonna be a big test for life without
- 35:49Speaker 3: Lane Johnson, at least in the immediate future.
- 35:51Speaker 2: That that's to me, is going to be a big key.
- 35:54Speaker 3: And you'd like to see them be able to sustain
- 35:56Speaker 3: some semblance of a running game that's been absent off season.
- 35:59Speaker 2: Yeah, and they're playing the right team.
- 36:01Speaker 3: They're playing the right team for it. So this is
- 36:04Speaker 3: this is an ideal situation for this offense. You're playing indoors,
- 36:07Speaker 3: you're playing against the poorest Dallas defense, that you should
- 36:11Speaker 3: have opportunities to be able to sustain some sort of production.
- 36:15Speaker 2: So to me, Andrew, I would love to see them
- 36:20Speaker 2: And I hate to say establish the run. It's so
- 36:24Speaker 2: old fashioned. I get that, but man, they've other than
- 36:27Speaker 2: to get This last game was okay, and the Giants
- 36:29Speaker 2: game is phenomenal. Not they've been awful running football. But
- 36:32Speaker 2: the thing is, if Brett Toath is starting, and you've
- 36:34Speaker 2: got Fred Johnson a right tackle. I know Took did
- 36:36Speaker 2: play great against the Giants, You're still playing with two
- 36:39Speaker 2: backup linemen on the road, hostile atmosphere to be doing
- 36:44Speaker 2: some silent count. Maybe hard to hear that. I've been
- 36:46Speaker 2: to that stadium, loud, it's I hate that stadium. It's
- 36:50Speaker 2: too big, it's too high. I was at the super
- 36:52Speaker 2: Bowl when the Packers played the Steelers. Oh okay, Oh,
- 36:56Speaker 2: you keep looking up. It doesn't end. It's like a
- 36:58Speaker 2: stateium that doesn't end. Andrew, But yeah, I look, this
- 37:02Speaker 2: is a team you could get Barkley off on. You
- 37:06Speaker 2: got to get him off to a good start. And
- 37:08Speaker 2: then and Petullo come. Petula talked about it today. Play action,
- 37:11Speaker 2: which they've been running a little bit more. Get that going.
- 37:15Speaker 2: If the Cowboys start playing, loading up that box, start
- 37:19Speaker 2: going to the receivers. Look, remember again, Trey, we just
- 37:22Speaker 2: did in our injury review, Trey von Dixson is not playing.
- 37:24Speaker 2: You've got revel back. We'll see if he plays more
- 37:26Speaker 2: this week. They're not very good at corner at.
- 37:29Speaker 3: Kaylin Carson's and other players at all. But I liked
- 37:32Speaker 3: him coming out of Wake Forest. He has a lot
- 37:34Speaker 3: of he has the attitude, and I think they took
- 37:37Speaker 3: him in the second round. He hasn't really performed particularly well.
- 37:41Speaker 3: He's just you know, a middle of the road corner
- 37:43Speaker 3: right now. But yes, this should be a game, a
- 37:46Speaker 3: situation that's right for the picking in terms of the
- 37:48Speaker 3: passing game. So if they can't get it right this
- 37:50Speaker 3: week at him, I don't know when they're gonna get
- 37:51Speaker 3: it right.
- 37:52Speaker 2: Point. Yeah, you're right, And if they got by the
- 37:55Speaker 2: way the Cowboys gotten leak Hooker back last week actually
- 37:58Speaker 2: last night technically against the Raiders. But look at this
- 38:02Speaker 2: situation on offense. On your point, that's the best point
- 38:05Speaker 2: is protect think protection first. If you can protect up front,
- 38:10Speaker 2: they're gonna be plays. Goddard has had some good games
- 38:13Speaker 2: against the Cowboys, don't forget about him. He had two
- 38:15Speaker 2: nice catches, but they didn't go to him. I want
- 38:18Speaker 2: to ask you this question about the game. Yeah, the
- 38:19Speaker 2: game against the this this given if they just won,
- 38:23Speaker 2: which was really tight, what was the win? Like the
- 38:26Speaker 2: Packers game was bad, but this game against the Lion
- 38:28Speaker 2: seem worse. And you were at that game.
- 38:30Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean it took a herculean effort from the
- 38:34Speaker 3: defense to be able to pry it out sixteen to nine.
- 38:37Speaker 3: What I will say is, and I opened the show
- 38:39Speaker 3: with this, I'm not ever one to make excuses or
- 38:42Speaker 3: pardon anything, but the win was definitely a factor for
- 38:45Speaker 3: both quarterbacks. Jared Goff completed thirty seven point eight percent
- 38:48Speaker 3: of his passes Jay when hurts fifty percent. I look
- 38:51Speaker 3: at the post route I think it was to DeVante.
- 38:53Speaker 3: You can see the ball almost alter its trajectory over
- 38:57Speaker 3: his head. Same thing to Dallas Godd one instance where
- 39:00Speaker 3: he was looking it in and the ball sort of
- 39:02Speaker 3: tailed downward. It was just really challenging conditions. Now there
- 39:06Speaker 3: were plays to be made. That wheel route to Saquon
- 39:09Speaker 3: Bark where you have to connect. He got to connect
- 39:11Speaker 3: on that.
- 39:12Speaker 2: He also threw a nice one that Johan Dotson, who
- 39:14Speaker 2: absorbed a huge hit from Brian Bryant, right, that was
- 39:17Speaker 2: a big time throwing, big time over the defender over
- 39:20Speaker 2: his hand. And then of course there are two drops.
- 39:22Speaker 2: They two drops on the first court which were bad.
- 39:24Speaker 2: DeVante had two and I think Dallas did well. He
- 39:27Speaker 2: had one bad one really early in the game. But yeah,
- 39:31Speaker 2: so those are the offensive keys of the game. Let's
- 39:34Speaker 2: get to defense, and Dallas has a line that's kind
- 39:37Speaker 2: of been revamped for the last couple years with retirements
- 39:39Speaker 2: and injury. What are your thoughts in Eagles defense versus
- 39:41Speaker 2: the Cowboys offensive line.
- 39:43Speaker 3: Look, the Cowboys offensive line is healthy and they're among
- 39:48Speaker 3: the league's best. And I mean, this is going to
- 39:51Speaker 3: be a really good test as to the pass rush
- 39:53Speaker 3: that we just saw and maybe if they're able to
- 39:56Speaker 3: build off of that.
- 39:57Speaker 2: But I'm looking at it.
- 39:58Speaker 3: Particularly from an interior defense of line perspective, because I
- 40:02Speaker 3: believe that Jalen Carter and Moro Jomo and Jordan Davis
- 40:05Speaker 3: are going to dictate this game from a defensive standpoint.
- 40:08Speaker 3: Now you have Cooper b b there, you have Tyler
- 40:13Speaker 3: Booker right that they have players, But the Eagles defensive
- 40:17Speaker 3: line from the interior I think can really rekav it
- 40:19Speaker 3: and all of a sudden, now your edge rushers are
- 40:21Speaker 3: able to clean up and be able to take advantage
- 40:24Speaker 3: of some of those matchups. That's gonna be the key
- 40:26Speaker 3: in my estimation.
- 40:28Speaker 2: Now, Dak Prescott with George Pickens and.
- 40:30Speaker 3: CD Lamb, Wow, this is gonna be another big week
- 40:33Speaker 3: for a dory, because I have to imagine that they're
- 40:35Speaker 3: going to have him highlighted as a player they're going
- 40:37Speaker 3: to look to go after in this game, which makes
- 40:39Speaker 3: it all the more important that the Eagles are able
- 40:41Speaker 3: to get home from a pass rush standpoint right.
- 40:43Speaker 2: And remember there's folks, there's no weather. It's indoors and
- 40:47Speaker 2: I do you don't have to worry about that. And
- 40:49Speaker 2: George Pickens is so explosive. He tacks the football Ceedee Lamb.
- 40:53Speaker 2: One of the best zone runners. He sits and zones,
- 40:56Speaker 2: Andrew and he follows it. You know if Jake Ferguson's
- 41:02Speaker 2: a good tight end, yeah he is.
- 41:03Speaker 3: He doesn't get talked about enough, but he clearly has
- 41:05Speaker 3: a good rapport with Dak Prescott. He's effective in the
- 41:07Speaker 3: red zone, and he's also good after the catch, as
- 41:10Speaker 3: the Eagles know.
- 41:12Speaker 2: The key to me, to me is the depth of
- 41:14Speaker 2: the Eagles defensive line now, which they've not had since
- 41:17Speaker 2: last season. BG. I, by the way, here that one
- 41:20Speaker 2: quality rush where he got up field. Yeah, so I
- 41:23Speaker 2: was pretty impressed with that, so to me, Andrew, the
- 41:26Speaker 2: matchups right now to me, and we'll see what the
- 41:28Speaker 2: injury reports for both teams. Remember, now Dallas is on
- 41:32Speaker 2: a short week, Eagles not a short week, but they're
- 41:34Speaker 2: obviously they played late Sunday night, So we'll see how
- 41:38Speaker 2: the Eagles handle that. And don't forget next week he
- 41:42Speaker 2: goes going to really short week because they play on
- 41:44Speaker 2: Black Friday at home against Gogo Bearts. Yeah, three pm.
- 41:47Speaker 2: What kind of time is that? I don't know, it's weird.
- 41:49Speaker 2: I'm all for it. I'm just going to race it. Yeah, yeah,
- 41:53Speaker 2: I agree with you there. So how do you see
- 41:56Speaker 2: this game playing out? Early? Word? Again, I know they
- 41:57Speaker 2: haven't practiced. You don't know these reports? You see? This
- 41:59Speaker 2: is a game should control?
- 42:01Speaker 3: Yeah, I do, But I also think that Dallas is
- 42:03Speaker 3: gonna score some points. That's that's just if we talk
- 42:06Speaker 3: about the perfect conditions and things like that. Dak Prescott's playing,
- 42:09Speaker 3: I mean the game last night, he was playing very well.
- 42:11Speaker 3: They're an inconsistent football team, but they have enough pieces
- 42:14Speaker 3: there offensively that I think they are gonna be able
- 42:16Speaker 3: to move the football. But this is going to be
- 42:18Speaker 3: a game where the Eagles offense is gonna kind of look,
- 42:20Speaker 3: I'm not gonna say reminiscent to the Giants game, but
- 42:23Speaker 3: it's gonna They're gonna be able to tap into some thing,
- 42:26Speaker 3: especially in the run game.
- 42:27Speaker 2: Right, That was your key if Penworth Financial Keys to
- 42:30Speaker 2: the game, Andrew, and I just gave you those keys
- 42:33Speaker 2: of the game. I see, I see the Eagles getting it.
- 42:34Speaker 2: I see Eagles getting this win. Syriana Great on the road.

- 44:38Speaker 2: did what you got coming Wednesday Thursday Friday, over the
- 44:43Speaker 2: weekend Sunday afterget give everyone an idea? What you got
- 44:45Speaker 2: for us? Yeah.
- 44:46Speaker 3: I do a daily podcast called the check O Daily,
- 44:48Speaker 3: which is on the Inside the Birds podcasting platform. I
- 44:52Speaker 3: do daily updates, you know, I'll be I'm at the
- 44:54Speaker 3: Overcare complex Wednesday Thursday Friday. So it's updates based off
- 44:57Speaker 3: of the information that I learn and ports interesting nuggets
- 45:02Speaker 3: that maybe don't make it into a story. And then
- 45:04Speaker 3: I have my Rookie diary with Mac McWilliams. I'm enjoying
- 45:07Speaker 3: my conversations with him. We had a nice chat last
- 45:09Speaker 3: week and that usually drops Saturday morning and so, and
- 45:13Speaker 3: I have a couple of good stories that I'm working
- 45:15Speaker 3: on right now.
- 45:16Speaker 2: All right, Mac mickwilliams, how's he handling? Really? Not playing?
- 45:19Speaker 2: It's hard for rookie.
- 45:20Speaker 3: He's handling it well. He's handling it well. And I said,
- 45:23Speaker 3: where's that patience come from? And he said his mother,
- 45:25Speaker 3: his mother, you know, going through a lot, you know,
- 45:28Speaker 3: through life, working a lot of jobs. And he said
- 45:30Speaker 3: that he she instilled that in him at a young age,
- 45:33Speaker 3: and he said he's just focusing on the process, keeping
- 45:36Speaker 3: his mental right and just going to work every day.
- 45:38Speaker 2: Sir Andrew, you grew up in the Philadelphia area. Eagles Dallas?
- 45:41Speaker 2: What does this game mean to you? Just said, let's
- 45:43Speaker 2: go back to your fandom, let's get us a reporter.
- 45:46Speaker 2: But what are the Dallas Cowboys living in this area
- 45:49Speaker 2: for your whole life? What do they mean? What did
- 45:50Speaker 2: that matchup mean to you growing up? Well?
- 45:52Speaker 3: I remember, you know, being back in elementary school, and
- 45:55Speaker 3: there was like, you know, this is like, you know,
- 45:57Speaker 3: mid ninety so they were relevant then, and you'd see
- 46:00Speaker 3: a lot of kids that were wearing Cowboys hats and
- 46:03Speaker 3: I never quite understood it. My parents were that they
- 46:07Speaker 3: had a hatred for Dallas. I do remember that, and
- 46:11Speaker 3: I I personally remember like the Quincy Carters and the
- 46:14Speaker 3: Chad Hutchinson's.
- 46:16Speaker 2: And wow, you know school, Yeah, had some bad quarterbacks,
- 46:20Speaker 2: man had some really bad quarterbacks.
- 46:22Speaker 3: I remember the big Sheldon Brown hit two Sheldon Brown
- 46:25Speaker 3: hits on the same player Reggie Swinton back in O two,
- 46:28Speaker 3: and yeah, those are some of my memories from that.
- 46:31Speaker 2: All right, So Andrew, after this game, the Eagles will
- 46:36Speaker 2: host the Bears will be in a short week. The
- 46:39Speaker 2: Chicago Bears. I don't want to call them a fraultulent
- 46:42Speaker 2: seventy three. I thought they'd be eight or nine wins.
- 46:44Speaker 2: Maybe they're clearly gonna bear inet. Let's get into the
- 46:46Speaker 2: Bears a little bit before before we end the show today.
- 46:49Speaker 2: What are your thoughts on the Bears this season?
- 46:51Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean they're a team that you don't know
- 46:54Speaker 3: quite what to make of him now. Caleb Williams clearly
- 46:56Speaker 3: has skill, but I don't know he's not the risk
- 46:59Speaker 3: averse quarterback. He will turn the football over. He has
- 47:02Speaker 3: a very powerful arm, and I think that they're starting
- 47:06Speaker 3: to do some good things defensively.
- 47:07Speaker 2: Remember they added CJ. Gardner Johnson. It's safety.
- 47:09Speaker 3: I think the three sacks for them this year, and
- 47:13Speaker 3: I think they're starting to come together. But they're not
- 47:15Speaker 3: a team at least in my estimation, Adam, that's equipped
- 47:17Speaker 3: to win anything right now.
- 47:20Speaker 2: But you look at their division, the NFC North. I
- 47:22Speaker 2: think they're in the driver's seat right now. Are Lions? Yeah,
- 47:25Speaker 2: you're at that game before. Well, they have to get healthy.
- 47:28Speaker 3: I mean they're now They've now lost Sam Laporta, he's
- 47:31Speaker 3: on IR He's key to what they do offensively. They
- 47:34Speaker 3: you know, their secondary is banged up, and until they
- 47:36Speaker 3: start to get healthy, it feels like things are slipping
- 47:38Speaker 3: away from them.
- 47:39Speaker 2: At the most inopportune time. You have the Lions getting
- 47:43Speaker 2: back to the game. You talked about the win in
- 47:45Speaker 2: what was happening. Jared Goff does not have hurts his
- 47:48Speaker 2: arm strength and there were some balls that came out
- 47:51Speaker 2: funky on I know the Eagles pastors kind of collapsed
- 47:54Speaker 2: him where he didn't have he can only step into
- 47:56Speaker 2: his throat. But Jared Goff has had a really good
- 47:59Speaker 2: year prior to this game. I look at that division
- 48:02Speaker 2: right now, I mean, Minnesota's there there. They just can't
- 48:05Speaker 2: they just can't win.
- 48:06Speaker 3: And Green Bay, I mean I don't, I don't really,
- 48:09Speaker 3: I don't really view them as as a team that's
- 48:11Speaker 3: gonna make some noise that Shacops is hurt right now.
- 48:13Speaker 3: They also have to get healthy and they're running out
- 48:15Speaker 3: of time. They're running out of time. So it could
- 48:18Speaker 3: be the Chicago Bears that emerge.
- 48:20Speaker 2: All right, So let's get let let's get to the
- 48:22Speaker 2: reality of the NFC right now. To me, it's the
- 48:24Speaker 2: Eagles of the Rams. We know the Eagles have owned
- 48:26Speaker 2: the Rams now. I say that very ear on the season.
- 48:29Speaker 2: The Rams crushed the Eagles for almost three quarters and
- 48:32Speaker 2: he wasn't competitive and then all sorts of crave things happen.
- 48:36Speaker 2: I give the Eagles tremendous crowd for coming back. Hey,
- 48:38Speaker 2: mentally they were in a heart of a champion. But
- 48:40Speaker 2: the Rams are playing the best football now. I say that, Seattle.
- 48:43Speaker 2: If Sam Donald doesn't turn it over four times, he's
- 48:46Speaker 2: turned over seven times during the last two weeks.
- 48:48Speaker 3: Yeah, he made me look bad because I talked. I
- 48:50Speaker 3: spoke well about him going into that game, and.
- 48:52Speaker 2: He Sam Donald has been an amazing story because this
- 48:55Speaker 2: guy couldn't get up his own way prior to last season.
- 48:57Speaker 2: But he started turning over like crazy late last season,
- 49:00Speaker 2: as you know, with the Vikings, now with Seattle. So
- 49:03Speaker 2: as we size up the NFC, Andrew, let's get into it.
- 49:08Speaker 2: To me, it's today. I ranked them. I do my
- 49:11Speaker 2: power rings. I actually had the Rams one Eagles two.
- 49:13Speaker 2: I know the Eagles beat them so early. I don't
- 49:16Speaker 2: subscribe to oh well, if you do powerrings, if a
- 49:17Speaker 2: team beat the other team, they have to be above
- 49:19Speaker 2: them now, and I don't agree with that Eagles Rams
- 49:21Speaker 2: one two or vice versa. How do you see the
- 49:23Speaker 2: top of the keep.
- 49:25Speaker 3: I think it's fair to put the Rams at one
- 49:27Speaker 3: just because right now they're firing on all cylinders on
- 49:31Speaker 3: both sides of the football, and so they are starting
- 49:34Speaker 3: to hit their stride at the right time. Now, if
- 49:36Speaker 3: the Eagles offense was able to do a little bit
- 49:38Speaker 3: more to help pick up the tab, I might, I might,
- 49:40Speaker 3: I might like it. I might lean Eagles one in
- 49:44Speaker 3: RAMS two. But the Seahawks are a team that I've
- 49:47Speaker 3: been really impressed with this season. I probably have them
- 49:49Speaker 3: slotted at three. They are a fun defense to watch.
- 49:52Speaker 3: They fly around, they float the football. When Sam Darnold
- 49:55Speaker 3: is right, when he's you know, when he has a
- 49:57Speaker 3: clean pocket and things are optimal for him, he's able
- 50:00Speaker 3: to pick apart team surgically. And they have that addition
- 50:03Speaker 3: to Rashid Shaheed, who's a tremendous vertical threat. I think
- 50:06Speaker 3: he compliments what they have in Smith and Jigba, And yeah,
- 50:10Speaker 3: I think that's kind of the way that I'm looking
- 50:11Speaker 3: at those top three teams.
- 50:12Speaker 2: See, I liked the Bucks earlier this season, but they've
- 50:15Speaker 2: been so crushed by injury Bucky Irving. I know Sean
- 50:19Speaker 2: Tucker was phenomenal last week. Quite frankly, as much as
- 50:23Speaker 2: I like Rashid White as a back, Sean Tucker's a
- 50:25Speaker 2: better football players, more explosive. Yeah, big time, Mike Evans
- 50:28Speaker 2: on I are Godwin hasn't barely played this season. That's
- 50:32Speaker 2: crushed them, so you have to move them down. The
- 50:34Speaker 2: Niners are starting to get healthier, still worry about their
- 50:38Speaker 2: past rush injuries. Worn are out for the season. That's
- 50:40Speaker 2: a major major problem. Both out for the season. That's
- 50:42Speaker 2: a major major problem. You're just not gonna be able
- 50:45Speaker 2: to recover from that. You saw what happened to Washington,
- 50:48Speaker 2: so right now I would see it Ramsey Eagles, right.
- 50:52Speaker 2: I like Seattle. I actually picked them to be a
- 50:53Speaker 2: wildcard team this year. They've been a little bit better
- 50:55Speaker 2: than I expected. I'm worried about the Bucks injuries. You
- 50:59Speaker 2: and I see the Packers the same way. I think
- 51:01Speaker 2: they're fraudulent, Matt mister. Regular season, the floor never wins
- 51:04Speaker 2: in the playoffs anyway, and I love Detroit, but they're
- 51:08Speaker 2: so beat up in the secondary seat. It's the last
- 51:10Speaker 2: man standing. If you could be healthy, Andrew, in this business,
- 51:13Speaker 2: you could win and.
- 51:14Speaker 3: You mentioned the Bucks. Now they should at least that
- 51:17Speaker 3: was my that's my belief. Get Mike Evans back that
- 51:20Speaker 3: late in the season, right for the season ends. Yes,
- 51:24Speaker 3: they're a team to me that always seems like they
- 51:26Speaker 3: could be dangerous, just based off of Todd Bowles and
- 51:29Speaker 3: the unique looks and the pressure that he provides. And
- 51:32Speaker 3: Baker Mayfield he doesn't get fhazed. You look at Jared
- 51:34Speaker 3: Goff going into those conditions and he looked rattled early.
- 51:37Speaker 3: Baker Mayfield doesn't seem to get rattled. And that's a
- 51:39Speaker 3: scary combination when you enter the postseason.
- 51:42Speaker 2: Andrew the team that now they they shocked me. Last
- 51:46Speaker 2: week Bryce Young played the game of his life as
- 51:49Speaker 2: an NFL player. Yeah, it's been more down than up
- 51:51Speaker 2: as a player. But six and five this is a
- 51:53Speaker 2: playoff team. To you.
- 51:55Speaker 3: They're on the fringe. They're on the fringe. I don't
- 51:57Speaker 3: quite see them. They might be able to sneak in,
- 51:59Speaker 3: but right now I have them out. But they kind
- 52:02Speaker 3: of are a fun team to watch because some of
- 52:04Speaker 3: these games, you know, you go into it and they're like, yeah,
- 52:07Speaker 3: they have no business winning, but they get some gutsy
- 52:09Speaker 3: performances out of the quarterback. Tommy Tremble had a really
- 52:12Speaker 3: nice play, big time play late in that game their
- 52:15Speaker 3: tight end, and they seem to just.
- 52:17Speaker 2: Be rallying AFC wise at our last five minutes. Denver
- 52:22Speaker 2: is confounding at nine to two. They had a nice
- 52:25Speaker 2: win against the Eagles. They're so inconsistent offensively despite all
- 52:28Speaker 2: the talent, best defense in the National Football League. Yeah,
- 52:31Speaker 2: can this team make a run and get to the
- 52:33Speaker 2: Super Bowl? Denver?
- 52:34Speaker 3: They can make a run, but I don't think they
- 52:35Speaker 3: can make it to the super Bowl with Bo Knicks.
- 52:37Speaker 3: And that's the reason why I say that. I don't
- 52:40Speaker 3: think bow Knicks is good enough to elevate or I
- 52:42Speaker 3: don't think he's ready at this moment to elevate an
- 52:45Speaker 3: offense and do enough and play mistake free football like
- 52:49Speaker 3: the Eagles do to be able to make that leap.
- 52:52Speaker 3: Despite how good that defense is, and I love Nick Benito.
- 52:55Speaker 3: Their pass rusher Pat Sertan is a fantastic corner, the
- 52:59Speaker 3: best in the end turn. Yeah, I mean, I just
- 53:02Speaker 3: think that they have a lot on that side of
- 53:04Speaker 3: the ball. But I think what's going to be their
- 53:06Speaker 3: ultimate drawback is offensively with a young quarterback in Bnick.
- 53:10Speaker 2: The biggest stunner this season, Andrew The Chiefs are five
- 53:13Speaker 2: and five? Did they even get in the playoffs? And
- 53:16Speaker 2: he's usually great November? Not so great this year? What
- 53:19Speaker 2: has happened to the Chiefs?
- 53:20Speaker 3: You know, it's hard for me to envision the NFL
- 53:22Speaker 3: playoffs without the Chiefs in it. So something, some way, somehow,
- 53:26Speaker 3: I just i'move the belief that the Chiefs are going
- 53:28Speaker 3: to find a way to sneak in there, because whenever
- 53:31Speaker 3: you have the combination of any Reid and Patrick Mahomes,
- 53:33Speaker 3: I just feel like they're going to find a way.
- 53:36Speaker 2: I would try to pick them now to get in.
- 53:38Speaker 2: But man's the Chargers, the Broncos, but the Chargers. The Chargers. Yeah,
- 53:45Speaker 2: how do you exp thin? Get absolutely Here's what's comical.
- 53:48Speaker 2: They left LA on Friday early to get used to
- 53:51Speaker 2: the time difference, three hours, they got smoked. How do
- 53:53Speaker 2: you explain that?
- 53:54Speaker 3: As I like to say, the Chargers got charged or
- 53:56Speaker 3: they're charging, and they're a team that's always really assisted.
- 54:01Speaker 3: I love Justin Herbert, but he's in a quarterback that
- 54:04Speaker 3: can fold at the at the worst moments. He doesn't
- 54:06Speaker 3: necessarily meet the moment, like, go back to what Jyalen
- 54:09Speaker 3: Hurts and Patrick Mahomes and the great quarterbacks do in
- 54:12Speaker 3: this league, and they're just a confounding team because I
- 54:15Speaker 3: don't know that they have that winning DNA when the
- 54:17Speaker 3: lights are brightest, when the pressures turned up to one hundred.
- 54:20Speaker 3: I don't know if they're going to be that team
- 54:21Speaker 3: that can that can stand apart from the opponent.
- 54:24Speaker 2: Perhaps the biggest surprise in the National Football League this season,
- 54:28Speaker 2: and I didn't like the over eight and a half
- 54:30Speaker 2: the Patriots at ninety two. How do you explain this?
- 54:32Speaker 2: I love them. I love that team. Why do you
- 54:33Speaker 2: like this so much?
- 54:34Speaker 3: I like Drake may I was a big believer in
- 54:36Speaker 3: the quarterback coming out of college, and he plays with
- 54:38Speaker 3: a lot of moxie and he's not afraid to push
- 54:41Speaker 3: the ball down the field. He's been really receptive to coaching,
- 54:44Speaker 3: at least that's how it appears from the outside. And
- 54:47Speaker 3: I don't think it's any mistake that he's amplified his
- 54:50Speaker 3: game from year one to year two and made tangible
- 54:52Speaker 3: strides there. So I like the Patriots solely because of
- 54:56Speaker 3: the belief that I have in the development of the
- 54:59Speaker 3: quarterback Drake May.
- 55:00Speaker 2: Coaching matters, Mike Rabel's incredible.
- 55:02Speaker 3: I mean he's got everybody playing, you know, believing in
- 55:04Speaker 3: his messaging and that really shines through anytime he watched one.
- 55:07Speaker 2: Of their games. A team that everybody liked coming into
- 55:11Speaker 2: the season. But I don't know what to make of them.
- 55:13Speaker 2: It's the Buffalo Bills. Your thoughts on the Bills right now?
- 55:16Speaker 2: Not a Big Bills guy.
- 55:17Speaker 3: I so, I mean, I look at what Josh Allen
- 55:20Speaker 3: has done, and he has to be superman and sometimes
- 55:22Speaker 3: not even that's enough.
- 55:24Speaker 2: But do you have six touchdowns, three passes, three rushings. Yeah,
- 55:27Speaker 2: And I don't know, I don't think defensively they have
- 55:30Speaker 2: enough on that side of the ball. They're always seem
- 55:32Speaker 2: to be leaking oil in that area.
- 55:33Speaker 3: By the way, Ty Johnson, Yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna,
- 55:36Speaker 3: you know, I'm gonna pat myself on the back a
- 55:38Speaker 3: little bit here because going into the draft back in
- 55:40Speaker 3: twenty nineteen, I went to his pro day run about
- 55:42Speaker 3: a four two nine four three one. I mentioned that
- 55:44Speaker 3: he was going to be a late round steal. He's
- 55:47Speaker 3: drafted in the sixth round. Bounced around a little bit.
- 55:49Speaker 2: But he's established saying power and he's a key player
- 55:52Speaker 2: for a team like that. And then when you look
- 55:57Speaker 2: at the AFC, there are always teams where you go, Okay,
- 55:59Speaker 2: what this happened? The cult to eight and two coming
- 56:01Speaker 2: off there by, it's another team Daniel Jones playing well.
- 56:04Speaker 2: Do you believe in the Colts? Yeah?
- 56:05Speaker 4: I do.
- 56:06Speaker 3: I believe in the coaching for one, but they also have,
- 56:10Speaker 3: you know, sort of implemented a system that I think
- 56:12Speaker 3: is optimal for Daniel Jones. And you couple that with
- 56:15Speaker 3: Michael Pittman and Alec Pierce. So I really liked for
- 56:18Speaker 3: a while. He's starting to really emerge here. And Jonathan Taylor,
- 56:23Speaker 3: Jason Taylor is remarkable this season, and they added Sauce
- 56:27Speaker 3: Gardner as well. So I like what they're doing over
- 56:29Speaker 3: there in Indianapolis.
- 56:30Speaker 2: Very aggressive trade by Chris Ballard the GM who's been
- 56:34Speaker 2: pretty mediocre, but he's going for it this year. All right, everyone,
- 56:37Speaker 2: that's edrewd Schecko. I'm Adam Kaplan. You've been listening to
