- 0:09Speaker 1: Inside the Birds is back. What's going on everybody? Jeff Mosher,
- 0:15Speaker 1: Adam Kaplan, And we're gonna talk a little Eagles because
- 0:19Speaker 1: it's been It was a very big weekend in sports,
- 0:22Speaker 1: just not NFL wise, Adam. I mean, you had Opening Day,
- 0:25Speaker 1: Phillies home opener and all that, you had the NCAA
- 0:28Speaker 1: tournament going on, But we can't forget that. We got
- 0:30Speaker 1: the NFL Draft right around the corner, and we're like,
- 0:34Speaker 1: at this point, knee deep in free agency. As we've
- 0:36Speaker 1: said a lot, there's not a ton of game changing
- 0:39Speaker 1: free agents left during that you know, one year, proven
- 0:42Speaker 1: deal bargain basement, which we expect the Eagles will still
- 0:44Speaker 1: continue to be active in. But thought this would be
- 0:48Speaker 1: a good time right now to look at where the
- 0:51Speaker 1: Eagles are at from a depth chart perspective, and this
- 0:54Speaker 1: will help us. We'll do a two part podcast series.
- 0:57Speaker 1: This will help us kind of put the additions into
- 1:00Speaker 1: perspective where they fall in the chart. But then also, Adam,
- 1:02Speaker 1: and this is a big thing. It's gonna help us
- 1:04Speaker 1: realize where they're deep, where they're not, and where there
- 1:07Speaker 1: are moves still need that need to be made.
- 1:09Speaker 2: Yeah, when we do this particular show.
- 1:10Speaker 3: Sometimes I look at a little like you learn something
- 1:12Speaker 3: and go, Okay, you know what I forgot?
- 1:14Speaker 2: This guy could play this position.
- 1:16Speaker 3: So maybe they don't have to address it in free
- 1:18Speaker 3: agency because the draft is always about the future.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Right, But yeah, they look these they they've.
- 1:23Speaker 3: Signed ten unrestricted free agents to one year deals who
- 1:26Speaker 3: were not Eagles previously, and this has been them really
- 1:31Speaker 3: the last three years, particularly the last two. We obviously
- 1:34Speaker 3: Saquon deal was a massive one a few years ago,
- 1:37Speaker 3: but it's this is just this is just.
- 1:41Speaker 2: What they're doing now.
- 1:41Speaker 3: They're kind of how he's he actually said this very
- 1:44Speaker 3: clearly and best he's probably said it.
- 1:47Speaker 2: We're gonna build through the draft.
- 1:48Speaker 3: We're gonna sporadically get involved in free agency, and that
- 1:50Speaker 3: was it used to be the opposite man, to be
- 1:52Speaker 3: honest with twenty twenty ten, and once he got control,
- 1:56Speaker 3: he wasn't.
- 1:56Speaker 2: It was kind of mix and matching.
- 1:58Speaker 3: He's very good at free agency, we know that, but
- 2:01Speaker 3: he's got to do better with these one year deals.
- 2:03Speaker 2: They got to get more out.
- 2:04Speaker 3: Of them, for sure, production and it would be nice
- 2:08Speaker 3: if they would like resign one of these guys.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Great point, who's other than Zach Bond, who was sort
- 2:16Speaker 1: of an accidental overnight amazing story. I'm trying to think
- 2:20Speaker 1: of a one year guy, because we call those prove
- 2:23Speaker 1: it deals. Who's a one year prove it deal guy
- 2:26Speaker 1: that actually proved it and hung around over the last
- 2:29Speaker 1: few years. Most of them have been on defense, right.
- 2:33Speaker 1: You think of Mike Mackai Becton proved it, but they
- 2:36Speaker 1: didn't resign him. Yes, I'm trying to think here. You know,
- 2:40Speaker 1: none of the wide receivers. We're gonna talk about this
- 2:42Speaker 1: when we get to wide receiver. They've really struggled on
- 2:44Speaker 1: the veteran wide receiver market. They've had, you know, guys
- 2:47Speaker 1: try to come and revive their careers over the last
- 2:49Speaker 1: few years. Hasn't worked. Trying to think, Yeah, I guess,
- 2:53Speaker 1: I guess if you want to count the addition, Well,
- 2:56Speaker 1: this is weird of CJ. Gardner Johnson who was a
- 2:59Speaker 1: trade but was on the last year of his deal.
- 3:01Speaker 1: He didn't get for whatever reason he and the Saints
- 3:03Speaker 1: weren't and you know, we talked about that. He did
- 3:06Speaker 1: prove it, but the Eagles didn't resign him. He wound
- 3:09Speaker 1: up going to Detroit. Then he got hurt and the yeah,
- 3:13Speaker 1: they did.
- 3:13Speaker 2: They did get together Brad Burr, Yeah, yeah, he did.
- 3:18Speaker 2: Isaiah Rodgers did.
- 3:19Speaker 3: That was a real good one and nobody knew what
- 3:21Speaker 3: to expect because he They didn't resign him suspended. Yeah,
- 3:25Speaker 3: they they They actually tried, but Minnesota gave him a
- 3:28Speaker 3: second year with some guaranteed money. But not They're not
- 3:31Speaker 3: a lot of them that that have worked out.
- 3:35Speaker 2: I look at two years ago.
- 3:37Speaker 3: Just during their Super Bowl run, c j Uzama didn't
- 3:41Speaker 3: work out. They tried, The Gates was on the roster,
- 3:44Speaker 3: he didn't have to play Paris Campbell. You know, you
- 3:47Speaker 3: know it worked out and he's back again. Fred Johnson,
- 3:51Speaker 3: to be honest with you, I remember when we talked
- 3:53Speaker 3: about this a couple of years ago. Well, he's sort
- 3:55Speaker 3: of a young journeyman. It hasn't worked out. And then
- 3:58Speaker 3: Stout in This is something we talked about. When Stout
- 4:02Speaker 3: decides to step away, we'll wait a little bit. We'll
- 4:05Speaker 3: learn more about Chris Cooper as you go along. But
- 4:08Speaker 3: that's just something like that you mentioned. You mentioned Mackai Beckton. Yeah,
- 4:13Speaker 3: I mean that's like an all time coaching job to
- 4:16Speaker 3: put a guy he didn't play at a pro bow level.
- 4:18Speaker 3: We played an acceptable level, in fact, a good enough
- 4:20Speaker 3: level that he got a big deal, although only had
- 4:22Speaker 3: a one year structure. The Chargers cut him after one year,
- 4:24Speaker 3: which I kind of expected at the beginning unless he played,
- 4:27Speaker 3: Grady wouldn't see the second year with all the cash.
- 4:30Speaker 2: But what a story. That's a great one year deal
- 4:33Speaker 2: for sure.
- 4:33Speaker 1: Yep. It's also should be mentioned the Eagles, and I
- 4:36Speaker 1: think we talked about this in a recent pod. Howie
- 4:39Speaker 1: even brought it up, where their day one and day
- 4:42Speaker 1: two picks have been very successful over the last three years.
- 4:45Speaker 1: I believe it was like fourteen of fifteen to become
- 4:47Speaker 1: the starters, the only one with Sidney Brown. He's now gone.
- 4:49Speaker 1: So even if you do come to the Eagles and
- 4:51Speaker 1: play well for a year, it is hard to then
- 4:54Speaker 1: turn that into something longer in a starting position because
- 4:57Speaker 1: most of the Eagles starting positions on offense defense are
- 5:00Speaker 1: filled by guys that they've drafted and they've done a
- 5:03Speaker 1: good job with. So there is a part of that
- 5:05Speaker 1: that is a good thing. So let's get this two
- 5:07Speaker 1: part series started right. This is gonna be part one.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Here is the offense. We're gonna look at the offensive
- 5:11Speaker 1: depth chart and the first position we're gonna look at
- 5:14Speaker 1: is quarterback. And like you mentioned, whenever we do this
- 5:16Speaker 1: show each year, there's something that sticks out that makes
- 5:21Speaker 1: us think deeper about the position. And when you look
- 5:24Speaker 1: at quarterback right now, the depth chart itself is very obvious.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Your starters, Joan Hurts, your backup for as long as
- 5:30Speaker 1: he's here, is Tanner McKee, and they trade to bring
- 5:33Speaker 1: in Andy Dalton, so that gives you three. But the weird,
- 5:36Speaker 1: the interesting thing right at him is that Andy Dalton
- 5:39Speaker 1: has been a good quarterback in this league for a while.
- 5:41Speaker 1: He's made a lot of money, he's started a lot
- 5:43Speaker 1: of games. It is backed up for a while. It's
- 5:46Speaker 1: you have the contract numbers in front of you. He's
- 5:48Speaker 1: making kind of a weird salary for a number three quarterback,
- 5:52Speaker 1: and that's kind of strange. That's when you look at
- 5:54Speaker 1: the depth chart.
- 5:56Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean he's he'll make two million of his
- 5:59Speaker 3: four million, four guaranteed. He's three point nine million salary
- 6:03Speaker 3: and one hundred thousand dollars workout bonus. So the question
- 6:06Speaker 3: will be will they approach him to take a pay cut.
- 6:09Speaker 3: But if he's the backup, I would accept it. I mean,
- 6:13Speaker 3: if they wind up trading McKay. That's why they that
- 6:15Speaker 3: he would be advised to wait, and they're not. They're
- 6:17Speaker 3: not playing games until September. I'm trying to camp till
- 6:20Speaker 3: late July, so they don't have to do anything right now.
- 6:23Speaker 3: But yeah, it's it's it's Dalton last year was deal.
- 6:28Speaker 3: Mcke last year's deal, and Hurts to sign for a
- 6:29Speaker 3: while longer. Now, let me throw this at it, because
- 6:32Speaker 3: the part of this why they're doing is it gives
- 6:33Speaker 3: you an idea of what they're looking at for the
- 6:36Speaker 3: future in the draft. Yes, hurts to sign for a
- 6:38Speaker 3: while longer. Would it surprise you if they drafted a quarterback.
- 6:42Speaker 1: No, not at all, Not at all, And that factors
- 6:44Speaker 1: into this equation. It wouldn't surprise me. I think people think, well, yeah,
- 6:48Speaker 1: if you trade Tenner McKee, it would make sense to
- 6:51Speaker 1: draft a quarterback. I think that it would just make
- 6:53Speaker 1: sense for what you just said two minutes ago, which
- 6:55Speaker 1: is the only quarterback they have under contract in two
- 6:59Speaker 1: thousand and twenty seven would be Jalen Hurts McKee no
- 7:02Speaker 1: matter what happens, is the last year of his deal.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Same thing with Dalton. The Eagles love to have developmental
- 7:07Speaker 1: quarterbacks right, and they need one because they tried to
- 7:11Speaker 1: get one last year in Colin McCord. It didn't work out,
- 7:13Speaker 1: didn't make the team. He's with the Packers now, so
- 7:16Speaker 1: they have nothing in that cupboard. And this is a
- 7:18Speaker 1: team that will tell you and beat you over the
- 7:20Speaker 1: head with it about how important it is to have
- 7:22Speaker 1: those young developmental quarterbacks like Tanner McKee once was in
- 7:26Speaker 1: the chain. So McKee, no McKee. They're going to draft
- 7:30Speaker 1: the quarterback. I truly believe that it could be as
- 7:32Speaker 1: high as round two, like a shocker like they did
- 7:34Speaker 1: with Hurts. It could be something Day three. Yeah, I
- 7:37Speaker 1: don't know.
- 7:37Speaker 3: I'm just you know what, you know what, it would
- 7:41Speaker 3: not be because Hurts is coming off two subpar years. Yes,
- 7:44Speaker 3: they did win a Super Bowl with him and he
- 7:45Speaker 3: was certainly part of that, but he's been on the
- 7:48Speaker 3: downward trajectory.
- 7:49Speaker 2: So it would not surprise me.
- 7:50Speaker 3: Actually, maybe I'm in the minority, but I would not
- 7:52Speaker 3: surprise me if they drafted a quarterback as high as
- 7:55Speaker 3: the second round.
- 7:56Speaker 1: Yes, wouldn't surprise me at all. But as we uh
- 7:59Speaker 1: and I should have tease this at the start of
- 8:01Speaker 1: the show. You know, we started our shows with Greg
- 8:03Speaker 1: cosel our NFL Draft breakdown shows. I believe we've already
- 8:06Speaker 1: put the quarterbacks out, the running backs out, So the
- 8:09Speaker 1: next two will be starting tomorrow Tuesday wide receiver and
- 8:13Speaker 1: then Thursday tight end. Right, as we discussed in the
- 8:16Speaker 1: Quarterback show, this is a really good quarterback class to
- 8:20Speaker 1: get a developmental guy because there's not a lot of
- 8:23Speaker 1: pro ready guy. There's already questions enough about Fernando Mendoza,
- 8:27Speaker 1: but so and then obviously the number two guy, Ty Simpson.
- 8:30Speaker 1: We have no idea. He could be mid to bottom
- 8:32Speaker 1: first round, he could go out of the first round altogether.
- 8:35Speaker 1: And then after that there's a lot of guys that
- 8:37Speaker 1: Greg liked but felt he'd liked them as you know,
- 8:40Speaker 1: starting off their careers with a little seasoning, you know,
- 8:43Speaker 1: as a backup and then getting you know, two or
- 8:46Speaker 1: three years down the road, getting in Taylor Green. It's
- 8:48Speaker 1: an interesting one. Everybody's got to check out that. But
- 8:51Speaker 1: so my point is you're right, Adam, it could be
- 8:53Speaker 1: anywhere in as high as to it could be later,
- 8:57Speaker 1: but it is a good draft to try to find
- 8:58Speaker 1: the developmental guy.
- 8:59Speaker 3: It's a lot of good trade honestly, So we haven't
- 9:02Speaker 3: talked about this in wow, almost six years. When they
- 9:05Speaker 3: drafted Hurts, their thought process was, Okay, Wentz is our guy.
- 9:08Speaker 3: We just extended his contract in June of twenty nineteen.
- 9:13Speaker 3: They would never think it would go south. We know
- 9:15Speaker 3: Wins didn't haile it well, but the point is that
- 9:19Speaker 3: they thought that if Hurts would play a little bit,
- 9:22Speaker 3: they could want to flipping him for who knows what
- 9:25Speaker 3: if whatever tape you put together preseason, a regular season
- 9:28Speaker 3: fillading for Wentz would be good. We know it went
- 9:31Speaker 3: south for Wentz, but that how.
- 9:33Speaker 2: He's thicking ahead.
- 9:34Speaker 3: It was certainly in our this is our ninth year,
- 9:37Speaker 3: this is the bigger That was the biggest shock of
- 9:41Speaker 3: our of us doing it. The show is at that.
- 9:43Speaker 3: I mean, I would love to go back and see you.
- 9:45Speaker 3: I have no idea what we said. We'd have to
- 9:47Speaker 3: we had to have something to say after that.
- 9:49Speaker 2: That to me was like hair raising.
- 9:52Speaker 3: Yeah, that's why you don't now the difference. Yes, Hurts
- 9:56Speaker 3: is signed for a bunch of years, but Wentz, he's
- 10:00Speaker 3: downward spirals he ironic. It was the Sun's extension in
- 10:04Speaker 3: June of twenty nineteen, twenty nineteen, he started to regress
- 10:09Speaker 3: in twenty twenty, he was really bad and then he
- 10:10Speaker 3: went it out and the rest is history.
- 10:12Speaker 1: Yeah, even twenty eighteen, the second half of it was
- 10:15Speaker 1: a little I know, he he led them. Yeah, you
- 10:19Speaker 1: were starting to see twenty eighteen some struggles as well.
- 10:21Speaker 2: And you know, as you know, it's funny. I remember
- 10:24Speaker 2: asking Greg, I said, why is he throwing?
- 10:26Speaker 3: Because his accuracy went way up, but his yards pass
- 10:30Speaker 3: attempt I believe without looking at it went down because
- 10:33Speaker 3: the back fractory became more accurate. He certainly didn't look
- 10:36Speaker 3: like himself because major knee surgery then a back fracture. Okay,
- 10:41Speaker 3: he's not the same guy. But when it comes to
- 10:45Speaker 3: the quarterback position, this football team, you brought it up
- 10:47Speaker 3: at the start here nothing.
- 10:48Speaker 2: With surprise me.
- 10:49Speaker 3: We've learned our lesson in twenty twenty that gave us
- 10:51Speaker 3: the roadmap for this.
- 10:52Speaker 1: There you go. So regardless of what happens that though
- 10:55Speaker 1: the depth chart set, you know who you're number one is,
- 10:58Speaker 1: you know who your backup is at running back? Pretty
- 11:01Speaker 1: similar here, oh bit. I do want to make one
- 11:03Speaker 1: more point in quarterback. If they did keep McKee and
- 11:07Speaker 1: draft a quarterback, that would give them four they have
- 11:09Speaker 1: not had four quarterbacks on the fifty three uh in
- 11:14Speaker 1: quite a bit. And if they draft the guy to
- 11:16Speaker 1: your point, second round, third round, even fourth round, that
- 11:18Speaker 1: guy's making a fit. It's not gonna be a a
- 11:20Speaker 1: sort a cord where you can cut a sixth round pick, right,
- 11:23Speaker 1: that guy's gonna make it.
- 11:24Speaker 3: So well, I'll say this, if they draft a second
- 11:27Speaker 3: third round, you would have We're not big percentage of people,
- 11:30Speaker 3: but the percentage of their trading. McKee would have to
- 11:32Speaker 3: go up because McKay's death. Not that any would come
- 11:37Speaker 3: back anyway because he wants.
- 11:38Speaker 2: To start, but he walks.
- 11:40Speaker 3: Maybe they get if he gets, if there's a team
- 11:42Speaker 3: or two out there that loves him, they could want
- 11:47Speaker 3: to get a.
- 11:47Speaker 2: Third run compensatory pick for him.
- 11:48Speaker 3: If he signed a big deal and Dalton again is
- 11:51Speaker 3: not signed after the season, you just you'd rather not
- 11:54Speaker 3: keep four quarterbacks.
- 11:55Speaker 2: But if they have to, they have.
- 11:56Speaker 1: To, right, and there is always a quarterback market. People
- 11:59Speaker 1: think you have to do it by the draft. Now,
- 12:00Speaker 1: we've seen in training camp and preseason games quarterbacks get
- 12:03Speaker 1: hurt all the time. And you know that's how we
- 12:06Speaker 1: went from Carson Wentz not Carson Wentz Sam Bradford straight
- 12:10Speaker 1: to Carson Wentz with no Chase Daniel in between, because
- 12:13Speaker 1: they had drafted Wentz, they still had Bradford. The Vikings
- 12:16Speaker 1: was a Bridgewater who got hurt and then they wound
- 12:18Speaker 1: up training for.
- 12:20Speaker 3: Sam Bradford. Yeah happens. Yeah, Yeah, that's it. That's the leverage.
- 12:25Speaker 3: Play by Howie with Rix Spielman's the Vikings had a
- 12:31Speaker 3: playoff ready team. It's just funny how things work out sometimes.
- 12:34Speaker 3: And the twenty sixteen right, it was twenty sixteen, yes, sixteen,
- 12:40Speaker 3: right before the season started. That's the leverage because they're like,
- 12:42Speaker 3: all right, you need someone who could start. Bradford for
- 12:47Speaker 3: the name went totally south. He did have some good
- 12:49Speaker 3: games there.
- 12:50Speaker 1: Yeah. By the way that I have a great flat.
- 12:52Speaker 1: I was working at the Fanatic at the time, doing
- 12:54Speaker 1: a shift on that day and I happened to get
- 12:59Speaker 1: a message from a good source of mind, and it
- 13:02Speaker 1: was just that eyeballs, you know, like to watch the
- 13:05Speaker 1: like eyeballs, something happened. You never say that on exit Twitter, right,
- 13:09Speaker 1: And it was a smart enough smoke signal to me
- 13:13Speaker 1: because I you know, you knew what was going on
- 13:14Speaker 1: at the time, you knew the Vikings needed a quarterback,
- 13:17Speaker 1: and then I started saying, all right, listen, we gotta
- 13:20Speaker 1: be ready. There might be something about to go down
- 13:22Speaker 1: here with h you know, with with the Eagles, with
- 13:25Speaker 1: Viking and something like that. And then it was like
- 13:27Speaker 1: five minutes later it happened.
- 13:29Speaker 2: So I was, well, it's interesting, is the two sides
- 13:31Speaker 2: to talk to in the week.
- 13:33Speaker 3: But there was no resolution. And then the the urgency
- 13:37Speaker 3: comes that Spilman had to do something. They're not throwing
- 13:39Speaker 3: their season away, as much as it might have hurt them.
- 13:41Speaker 3: Everyone that with Tady's injury which was almost almost career ending,
- 13:46Speaker 3: and he went back to the lines this year, which
- 13:49Speaker 3: is interesting.
- 13:49Speaker 2: But yeah, the.
- 13:50Speaker 3: Quarterback position, man, it's just it's a wild thing. Man
- 13:54Speaker 3: and Vegles are in a very interesting position going forward.
- 13:57Speaker 2: Here.
- 13:58Speaker 1: There you go, all right. The running also pretty set
- 14:01Speaker 1: in stone. Sakuon Barkley is gonna come back. He's your
- 14:03Speaker 1: bell cow. I think you and I both went into
- 14:06Speaker 1: last year, even before they acquired Tank bigsby, thinking that
- 14:10Speaker 1: after the year he had in twenty twenty four, they
- 14:13Speaker 1: were probably gonna try to lighten his workload. Well we
- 14:16Speaker 1: were wrong on that. Lightened his workload at all. I
- 14:18Speaker 1: mean he had. He was still top five in the
- 14:20Speaker 1: NFL and in touches and carries, so he is their
- 14:23Speaker 1: their bell cow. Now I'd like to see Bigsby get involved.
- 14:27Speaker 1: I think there he is a nice change up runner.
- 14:29Speaker 1: He gives them a little extra dimension. It'll be interesting
- 14:33Speaker 1: to see if Shipley at him in year three, can
- 14:37Speaker 1: you know, compete with Bigsby to maybe see a different role,
- 14:40Speaker 1: a pass catching role in this offense. But those are
- 14:42Speaker 1: your top three.
- 14:43Speaker 2: All right, here's what happened last year.
- 14:45Speaker 3: So they make the tray for Tank Bigsby, right yep,
- 14:47Speaker 3: Well they use him as a kickoff returner.
- 14:51Speaker 2: Didn't work.
- 14:52Speaker 3: We kept saying, like every week, we kid folks that'd
- 14:54Speaker 3: intra him just to be a kickoff returner. They're not
- 14:56Speaker 3: giving up what they did just for kick reck turning.
- 14:57Speaker 3: He's going to eventually carrey to the football. But it
- 14:59Speaker 3: took so long and to the point where once he
- 15:02Speaker 3: got in he looked great. We're like, okay, why did
- 15:04Speaker 3: you do this five weeks ago? But it is what
- 15:06Speaker 3: it is.
- 15:07Speaker 2: So that is why Barkley had way too much work.
- 15:10Speaker 2: That's part of it. Shipley. He's got some juice. They
- 15:13Speaker 2: didn't throw him a lot in the pass game.
- 15:16Speaker 3: Yes he's a kickoff returner, but he did not have
- 15:18Speaker 3: the role that they probably thought he would have, so
- 15:21Speaker 3: he didn't get on the field.
- 15:22Speaker 2: And that's it. That's why Barkley got all that work.
- 15:24Speaker 3: They just didn't. It's a confetive thing. The coaches tell
- 15:26Speaker 3: you what they think when they don't play these guys, right,
- 15:29Speaker 3: didn't have any concert at that.
- 15:30Speaker 1: Point, and the Eagles have been pretty I would say
- 15:33Speaker 1: fortunate in that Barkley has always had an injury history,
- 15:37Speaker 1: but since coming to the Eagles, despite the big workload,
- 15:40Speaker 1: he has stayed healthy for two straight years, which, you know,
- 15:42Speaker 1: you knock on wood, but that was certainly I wouldn't
- 15:45Speaker 1: have predicted that, you know, I would have thought he
- 15:46Speaker 1: would have missed a few games here and there.
- 15:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I Biggsby to me.
- 15:55Speaker 3: I would absolutely look to bring him back if he
- 15:58Speaker 3: continues to play at this level. And do you remember
- 16:00Speaker 3: the game with McKee, I think it was against Washington
- 16:02Speaker 3: that that that checkdown?
- 16:05Speaker 2: Yeah, oh yeah, incredible.
- 16:07Speaker 3: How he his explosion is in. He is a really
- 16:12Speaker 3: good backup running back.
- 16:13Speaker 2: He saw it.
- 16:13Speaker 3: He was terrific that that trade was interesting to give
- 16:15Speaker 3: up a lot for him, but to me, I would
- 16:17Speaker 3: love to bring him back from Howie.
- 16:20Speaker 1: All right, So also I agree at this this is
- 16:22Speaker 1: a weird position for the Eagles because we just mentioned
- 16:25Speaker 1: their top three that really should be enough, but for
- 16:27Speaker 1: whatever reason, a couple of times over the last few
- 16:29Speaker 1: years that Heals have kept the fourth running back and
- 16:31Speaker 1: basically let that guy collect dust. We saw that happen
- 16:35Speaker 1: were shot Petty in twenty three, and then we saw
- 16:37Speaker 1: it happened last year with a J Yeah, AJ Dillon.
- 16:41Speaker 1: I mean, they're taking up a roster spot, but they're
- 16:43Speaker 1: they're not being used at all. And there were so
- 16:46Speaker 1: many transactions Eagles had to make last year we would say, well,
- 16:51Speaker 1: what's the corresponding move?
- 16:52Speaker 2: Is it?
- 16:52Speaker 1: AJ Dillon? Because you could probably bring him back a yeah,
- 16:55Speaker 1: and then he never would cut him. It was very odd,
- 16:58Speaker 1: and so that's why I look at the these two
- 17:00Speaker 1: guys that they bring in in the off season. Here
- 17:02Speaker 1: Carson Steele, who you know, whether it's running back or
- 17:05Speaker 1: fullback or not sure yet, and then Damian Pierce because
- 17:08Speaker 1: you know, Ali has to have a guy from Florida.
- 17:11Speaker 1: So those guys are competing for a fourth running back.
- 17:13Speaker 1: I think you and I would say there's no need
- 17:15Speaker 1: for either of these guys to make the team unless
- 17:17Speaker 1: they're amazing, and you can't, you know, for whatever reason
- 17:19Speaker 1: you feel like you can't. But I can't rule it out.
- 17:22Speaker 1: For the Eagles, they keep four running backs sometimes.
- 17:25Speaker 3: Well, it is amazing to me they never cut Dylan.
- 17:29Speaker 3: They just would have him an active He's now with
- 17:30Speaker 3: a Panthers on a one year deal. Yeah, but when
- 17:34Speaker 3: you look at it again past the season, as we
- 17:36Speaker 3: finish this off, it's kind of barren. So yeah, I
- 17:41Speaker 3: wouldn't be surprised if they took a running back as
- 17:42Speaker 3: high as a third round. I've got a lot of picks,
- 17:45Speaker 3: and you know how he's he just generally doesn't stay
- 17:47Speaker 3: pat but Bigsby, as we move on here, he's a
- 17:51Speaker 3: guy that he's really intriguing as a number two running back.
- 17:55Speaker 1: Yep, yep. And so the only guys would be under
- 17:58Speaker 1: contract going forward after this year Barkley and Shipley.
- 18:02Speaker 2: Yeah, third year yes, yeah.
- 18:05Speaker 1: All right, wide receiver, we kind of have to have
- 18:07Speaker 1: two separate conversations about the depth chart. It's the with
- 18:10Speaker 1: AJ Brown depth chart and then without AJ Brown depth chart.
- 18:13Speaker 1: So let's start off with AJ Brown I think the
- 18:18Speaker 1: Eagles are and this is probably the one position where
- 18:21Speaker 1: you say the Eagles are better now than when they
- 18:25Speaker 1: ended the year. There's not a lot of positions you
- 18:27Speaker 1: can say that about. They're either the same or a
- 18:30Speaker 1: little bit worse. Again, it's early. You know, we're not
- 18:33Speaker 1: not making any value judgements on that. But receiver, I
- 18:36Speaker 1: think you could say you lose Johan Dotson as your
- 18:39Speaker 1: number three, but you do pick up Marquise Brown. You
- 18:43Speaker 1: know you're taking a flyer here on Elijah Moore. So
- 18:47Speaker 1: your your top three guys are aj Brown, DeVante Smith,
- 18:51Speaker 1: Marquise Brown, and then you got some some battles over
- 18:54Speaker 1: the Cooper.
- 18:55Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean Cooper's in the mix now.
- 18:57Speaker 3: The key for as we talked about at the of
- 19:02Speaker 3: Elijah Moore, nobody has any idea of Elijah Moore, though
- 19:05Speaker 3: he's still young at twenty six, is anything left right.
- 19:08Speaker 3: He's been in such a downward truck since he left
- 19:09Speaker 3: the Browns, where he played his best ball in terms
- 19:11Speaker 3: of target rate and total production. I mean, it's been
- 19:17Speaker 3: a disaster since then. He just is not He just
- 19:19Speaker 3: can't stick anywhere, true, So we don't know if he
- 19:22Speaker 3: could play anymore. It just you know, he wented out
- 19:24Speaker 3: that the Jets didn't want to play with Zach Wilson.
- 19:27Speaker 3: M believe let he put some numbers up, didn't bring
- 19:30Speaker 3: them back. Son elsewhere hasn't been able to stick. So
- 19:33Speaker 3: that that's concerning.
- 19:34Speaker 1: I'll tell you this. Andrew Dicheco made a great point
- 19:36Speaker 1: on one of his Dicheco Daily podcasts. Right when you
- 19:39Speaker 1: look at your fourth and fifth and maybe sixth receiver,
- 19:41Speaker 1: you always look at special teams. That's not an area
- 19:44Speaker 1: Eli Moore has a whole lot of impact or even
- 19:47Speaker 1: experience with. So if a J. Brown is on this
- 19:49Speaker 1: team and you have a J. Brown, DeVante Smith, Marquise Brown,
- 19:54Speaker 1: then now you're talking about who you're four and five,
- 19:56Speaker 1: and special teams has to factor in. I believe Cooper
- 19:59Speaker 1: did play special team for the Eagles last year. Johnny Wilson,
- 20:01Speaker 1: we know because of that big body can play it
- 20:04Speaker 1: he has. He'll be trying to come back from the
- 20:06Speaker 1: injury that he had last year. I think it makes
- 20:07Speaker 1: it tougher for Eli Moore to make this team. I know,
- 20:10Speaker 1: I know there's this thought process that you and I
- 20:12Speaker 1: have already debunked that they brought in Eli Moore because
- 20:15Speaker 1: he's friends with AJ Brown and he's gonna no, no, no.
- 20:19Speaker 1: And in fact, if AJ Brown's here, it is going
- 20:21Speaker 1: to be more difficult for Elijah Moore to make the
- 20:23Speaker 1: team because of that lack of assuming everybody's healthy and
- 20:27Speaker 1: what they are supposed to be, because of his lack
- 20:28Speaker 1: of them.
- 20:29Speaker 3: So before we move on to toight end, if Brown's here,
- 20:31Speaker 3: it's Brown, Smith, Hollywood, Brown three, more could be five,
- 20:36Speaker 3: Cooper gild be six, Wilson seven.
- 20:37Speaker 2: So you got they've kept six before. I believe at
- 20:40Speaker 2: some point, Yeah, fifty three. It's not ideal.
- 20:44Speaker 3: It's not ideal, right, but I'm telling you Elijah Moore
- 20:48Speaker 3: as an inside receiver, it's very intriguing. If he's even
- 20:51Speaker 3: close to what he was with the Jets of the Browns,
- 20:54Speaker 3: we just don't know. Nobody knows, you know. No, he
- 20:57Speaker 3: just has not been able to get a foothold back
- 20:58Speaker 3: on his career. But yeah, Cooper deserves to be on
- 21:02Speaker 3: this football team. He's Scott. You saw last year they
- 21:06Speaker 3: he picked up some of the slack for Johnny Wilson
- 21:08Speaker 3: in the red zone to block or overall on the block.
- 21:10Speaker 3: He was a great story of development out of coming
- 21:12Speaker 3: out of training camps. An untracted free agent certainly not
- 21:15Speaker 3: a lock to make the team, but he's got a
- 21:17Speaker 3: good shot. So a lot of this comes down, as
- 21:20Speaker 3: you said, whether aj Brown is on the team or not.
- 21:22Speaker 1: Hey, if you're like me, you're desensitized to the dozens
- 21:25Speaker 1: of notifications on your phone every day. But if that
- 21:28Speaker 1: latest ping is from your security camera, ignoring it could
- 21:31Speaker 1: spell disaster. Picture this, someone's breaking into your home, but
- 21:35Speaker 1: you're giving a huge presentation at work, or you're at
- 21:37Speaker 1: the movies, or you're thirty thousand feet in the sky
- 21:39Speaker 1: on a flight. You'll see the footage in a couple hours,
- 21:42Speaker 1: but by then it's too late. That's why I choose

- 23:37Speaker 1: and an experience made for Philly fans twenty one and up.
- 23:40Speaker 1: All right, let's go take a look at tight end.
- 23:42Speaker 1: Before we get into it, I want to direct everybody's
- 23:45Speaker 1: attention if you haven't read it, or I'm sorry, read
- 23:47Speaker 1: it if you haven't seen it or listen to it yet.
- 23:49Speaker 1: Andrew de Checo has started doing interviews with draft prospects
- 23:53Speaker 1: and he had won recently with Eli Stowers out of Vanderbilt.
- 23:56Speaker 1: He is probably the second or third best tight end know.
- 24:00Speaker 1: We know Kenyon sadik Is is the number one prospect
- 24:02Speaker 1: in the first rounder, but Stours is a really good
- 24:06Speaker 1: prospect out of Vanderbilt, and he had an awesome discussion
- 24:08Speaker 1: with Andrew. Eli did have a formal interview at the
- 24:12Speaker 1: combine with the Eagles. He got to know Ryan Mahaffey,
- 24:15Speaker 1: so he gave some people our listeners a little insight
- 24:18Speaker 1: onto what it was like to talk to Mahafey and
- 24:20Speaker 1: there's not a lot of I don't know if any
- 24:22Speaker 1: other outlets have had, you know, anybody anything on Ryan
- 24:25Speaker 1: Mahafey because none of the coaches of new coaches have
- 24:27Speaker 1: talked to the media yet. So definitely worth checking out.
- 24:30Speaker 1: And obviously a guy Adam that's on on the egos radar,
- 24:33Speaker 1: as you should, because this tight end position is probably
- 24:37Speaker 1: the most complex one to figure out.
- 24:39Speaker 3: Well, got our one year deal, Kakuta won your deal,
- 24:42Speaker 3: mont smart lots in the final year. Jenkins, I believe
- 24:47Speaker 3: got a multi year deal because they typically.
- 24:49Speaker 2: Do this with the future deals.
- 24:50Speaker 3: Yeah, and jaheem Bell, but it's Barren passed the season.
- 24:54Speaker 3: This is this is a this is a quality year
- 24:58Speaker 3: to do it. I mean, this is the deepest inten
- 25:00Speaker 3: years at tight end. This draft a good year to
- 25:02Speaker 3: do it. It's top having terms of the best guy,
- 25:06Speaker 3: it's not it's not close, he's he's I mean, when
- 25:10Speaker 3: you look at that tight end position, it's it's one
- 25:12Speaker 3: guy from Oregon, yep, and it's everybody else. But Stours
- 25:16Speaker 3: is really good. It's Cidique. You got Stours Claire, Yeah, yep.
- 25:22Speaker 3: Trigg is interesting. Oh, by the way, that show's coming
- 25:25Speaker 3: later this week. With Cosell on tight ends for the draft.
- 25:28Speaker 1: Looking for Yeah, that'll be Thursday, I believe, Okay, cool
- 25:31Speaker 1: wide receivers Tuesday, tight ends Thursday. So yeah, we expect
- 25:34Speaker 1: the Eagles to absolutely address this position. Would be surprising
- 25:38Speaker 1: if they don't. Uh. And again listen to that Eli
- 25:40Speaker 1: Stowers interview with the Checko. As far as you know,
- 25:44Speaker 1: like we talked about why they brought in Mont because
- 25:47Speaker 1: he's played you know, he was last with Jacksonville. I
- 25:49Speaker 1: think it was a one point in Minnesota, so he's
- 25:51Speaker 1: played in these McVeigh O'Connell offenses. But he was already
- 25:55Speaker 1: cut loose by Jacksonville. So I mean he's got to
- 25:58Speaker 1: make the team still play. Yeah, So I just this
- 26:05Speaker 1: position to me is still under major, major operation. But
- 26:08Speaker 1: if you had to play a game today, obviously you're
- 26:10Speaker 1: your top two guys are Goddard, Calkatara and Mont. I
- 26:13Speaker 1: guess would have to be there because if you're in,
- 26:15Speaker 1: if you're trying to run block, you need a guy
- 26:18Speaker 1: like Mont.
- 26:19Speaker 3: They have to have somebody a lot too. Will We'll
- 26:22Speaker 3: have to see what mffey thinks of him.
- 26:24Speaker 2: And he's still here.
- 26:25Speaker 3: He count blocked. There's no question about that. A former
- 26:27Speaker 3: third round pick for the Niners. So it's smart to
- 26:29Speaker 3: move tight end. Yeah, Jackets to keep giving him a
- 26:32Speaker 3: try to keep bringing them back. Jahan Bell is an
- 26:34Speaker 3: undersized tight end, so we shall. We shall see what
- 26:38Speaker 3: happens here. It's going to be interesting.
- 26:39Speaker 1: Who originally drafted lots of the Niners, right, So, okay,
- 26:44Speaker 1: another guy at this position who has experience in a
- 26:47Speaker 1: McVeigh slash Shanahan style offense, and I think you and
- 26:51Speaker 1: I are in agreement in this. We would like him
- 26:53Speaker 1: to see him get some real good opportunity to show
- 26:56Speaker 1: what he can do in this offense as both a
- 26:59Speaker 1: blocker and even a little bit of a pass catcher
- 27:01Speaker 1: because he was able to he was an athletic guy
- 27:03Speaker 1: at Alabama.
- 27:05Speaker 3: Yeah, you're really draft in a specific if he can
- 27:09Speaker 3: only do one thing lotto in terms of blocking.
- 27:11Speaker 2: It's a little bit rich to draft a blocking tight end.
- 27:14Speaker 3: Yeah, but he's now twenty six, he's a third rounder
- 27:18Speaker 3: of twenty twenty three, and he's been with the Niners,
- 27:22Speaker 3: the Browns, and now the Eagles.
- 27:22Speaker 2: So we'll see what happens, all right.
- 27:24Speaker 1: So that's tight end. Let's get to the old line.
- 27:27Speaker 1: Adam let's go inside out. We'll start at center, all right,
- 27:31Speaker 1: I had a chance. I don't know if you saw it,
- 27:33Speaker 1: but Cam Jurgens appeared on the Busting with the Boys
- 27:36Speaker 1: podcast Okay, and he described the injury he had at
- 27:41Speaker 1: the end of the Super Bowl season. You know, remember
- 27:43Speaker 1: he didn't start the NFC Championship game. Dickerson started because
- 27:46Speaker 1: Cam was really hurting in the back area. And he
- 27:49Speaker 1: said on the podcast that his disc had fully broken
- 27:54Speaker 1: off and wrapped around his sciatic nerve. I can't imagine.
- 27:57Speaker 1: I just can't imagine the type of paint this guy
- 28:00Speaker 1: was in. And the fact that he played in the
- 28:01Speaker 1: Super Bowl is pretty amazing. But he said, look, you
- 28:05Speaker 1: have surgery like this and you don't just snap your
- 28:08Speaker 1: fingers and come back from it and a year or so. Yeah, yeah, So,
- 28:12Speaker 1: I mean that could partially be well, it could probably
- 28:16Speaker 1: be a reason for his twenty twenty five season. Interestingly,
- 28:20Speaker 1: the Eagles gave him that contract extension in between them
- 28:24Speaker 1: after the Super Bowl season, knowing he was going to
- 28:26Speaker 1: have that surgery.
- 28:28Speaker 3: Yeah they knew it. Yeah, I mean, they knew where
- 28:30Speaker 3: he's at. But you know, you bank on your medical
- 28:32Speaker 3: team saying okay, he'll be good. It's going to take
- 28:35Speaker 3: a while, but he'll be good around this time whatever
- 28:37Speaker 3: month that they could pick. So, yeah, it's it's concerned.
- 28:40Speaker 3: I look with a Dickerson thing. At the very least though,
- 28:44Speaker 3: they they need Lane Johnson's replacements.
- 28:47Speaker 2: To rather than later.
- 28:48Speaker 3: You don't want to force anything. That's that's when you
- 28:50Speaker 3: start framing picks. You don't want to frame picks. But
- 28:52Speaker 3: it's sure like he use a developmental guy in back
- 28:56Speaker 3: of Dickerson and Stein. That to me right now, because
- 29:02Speaker 3: they tried. They tried a couple of years ago with
- 29:05Speaker 3: Trevor Keagan out of Michigan and he was cut. The
- 29:08Speaker 3: Cowboys cleon off Waivers with Matt Hennessy you might remember
- 29:11Speaker 3: a couple of years ago. Yeah, fly but Atlanta and
- 29:13Speaker 3: the Niners, and it's just they haven't been able to
- 29:16Speaker 3: find that guy.
- 29:17Speaker 1: Yeah, who's the They had another day three center that
- 29:20Speaker 1: the Rams took from him.
- 29:22Speaker 3: Uh, Dylan McMahon was way too small. Andrew and I
- 29:25Speaker 3: are a training camp. I remember two years ago.
- 29:27Speaker 2: I thought he was a fullback. Yeah, got center?
- 29:30Speaker 1: Yeah crazy?
- 29:31Speaker 3: Uh.
- 29:31Speaker 1: And then obviously, as you just said, depth behind them,
- 29:34Speaker 1: you know, we're talking about the second year for Drew Kendall,
- 29:37Speaker 1: who was able to get in in that season finale
- 29:39Speaker 1: and some decent reps. Jake Majors is a guy who
- 29:42Speaker 1: is uh, they brought in. He's not played obviously in
- 29:46Speaker 1: the NFL. He had thirty seven starts of Texas though.
- 29:48Speaker 1: I mean, he's a guy with a lot of college experience.
- 29:51Speaker 3: He does, I mean, but again, he was not drafted,
- 29:54Speaker 3: just like Willie Lampkin, who could play center, he wasn't drafted.
- 29:58Speaker 2: He was cut. It was the Eagles claim off Waivers
- 30:00Speaker 2: is way injured by the Rams.
- 30:02Speaker 1: YEP.
- 30:02Speaker 2: So there's just and and and Drew Kendall.
- 30:04Speaker 3: There's a lot of personal people we spoke with about
- 30:07Speaker 3: Kendle least over the last year, would tell us that
- 30:10Speaker 3: he's really at this level center. You could question a guard.
- 30:13Speaker 3: We know the scheme has changed, which might favor him
- 30:15Speaker 3: because he's smaller, but you got a block and it's
- 30:20Speaker 3: it's tough when you're smaller in the interior.
- 30:22Speaker 1: Yeah. So this this one is really to me. This
- 30:25Speaker 1: depth chart is incomplete from two ways. Right, Probably the draft,
- 30:28Speaker 1: like you said, a good developmental guy, but also you
- 30:32Speaker 1: need a veteran inside guy. You need a veteran center
- 30:34Speaker 1: guard here that you know, maybe they'll have one of
- 30:36Speaker 1: those post draft may signings. Doesn't count against.
- 30:39Speaker 3: Yeah, you don't do anything now. You could wait till
- 30:41Speaker 3: training cap it. It doesn't matter. The time is not
- 30:44Speaker 3: the issue. The issues about the season, right, you want
- 30:47Speaker 3: to have that guy when they brought in Nick Gates,
- 30:48Speaker 3: who that's a perfect example of just having an insurance
- 30:51Speaker 3: policy if somebody gets hurt.
- 30:52Speaker 2: You want to have that done.
- 30:54Speaker 1: There you go, let's go to guard where you'll have
- 30:57Speaker 1: Tyler Stein and right guard, and Landed Dickerson the left guard.
- 31:00Speaker 1: And Landon actually took a recent trip to the same
- 31:05Speaker 1: I forget. I think it's called Biogenesis Lab in mid Eyen,
- 31:09Speaker 1: Columbia that your center went to Jurgens went to. It's
- 31:13Speaker 1: never good when you have to have guys going to
- 31:15Speaker 1: foreign countries. I mean, it's good for them that they
- 31:17Speaker 1: get these treatments, but I'm saying it's always a little
- 31:20Speaker 1: bit concerning when you have to have two guys on
- 31:22Speaker 1: your offensive line both kind of seek that medical treatment.
- 31:26Speaker 3: Yeah, you're trying to get a better quality of life.
- 31:28Speaker 3: It's not just for now, it's about for your future.
- 31:30Speaker 1: Yep.
- 31:31Speaker 2: And yeah, it's tough man.
- 31:33Speaker 3: When you I can't remember an interior offensive lineman, maybe
- 31:37Speaker 3: you could remember that has had more work done than
- 31:40Speaker 3: Dickerson going back to his college days.
- 31:41Speaker 2: It's just remarkable.
- 31:43Speaker 1: Uh good, No, No, not as much as Dickerson because you,
- 31:45Speaker 1: like you mentioned, I think he had three surgeries. I
- 31:48Speaker 1: know you have four injuries, three surgeries in college. Then
- 31:50Speaker 1: he's been banged up.
- 31:51Speaker 2: You know.
- 31:52Speaker 1: The only thing I can kind of think of is
- 31:54Speaker 1: is Seoan Andrews. They drafted him, he missed his first
- 31:58Speaker 1: year because he broke his bone. He's broke his like left,
- 32:00Speaker 1: I forget which which broke. He broke a leg, and
- 32:03Speaker 1: then he came back and the emergence are one of
- 32:05Speaker 1: the best guards in football for a couple of years.
- 32:07Speaker 1: They were going to move him to tackle and then
- 32:09Speaker 1: that's when the back injuries just stop.
- 32:14Speaker 2: Yeah. I just couldn't stop.
- 32:16Speaker 1: Yeah. So depth wise, behind Steen, behind Dickerson, you're looking again,
- 32:21Speaker 1: they've got Kendall, who your sources have said is really
- 32:24Speaker 1: more of a center than a guard.
- 32:25Speaker 3: I'd still play guard, but I question it. Basically we've
- 32:28Speaker 3: heard we'll.
- 32:29Speaker 1: See right, Uh, and then really again there when you're
- 32:33Speaker 1: looking at backup guard here there's Eagles always seem to
- 32:35Speaker 1: have a guy that they're ready to put in there,
- 32:38Speaker 1: and it might be a guy who's been a second
- 32:39Speaker 1: round or a third round pick. But right now, Barren
- 32:42Speaker 1: empty cupboard.
- 32:43Speaker 2: Don't have anyone.
- 32:44Speaker 3: No there, this is where again you you'd rather get
- 32:47Speaker 3: a center slash guard. Just have the history of getting
- 32:50Speaker 3: multiple positional interior alignement. Right, It's something I would look
- 32:54Speaker 3: for towards training camp.
- 32:57Speaker 1: There you go sign somebody all right at tackle. The
- 33:00Speaker 1: Eagles have done a better job with at least making
- 33:03Speaker 1: sure to bring back Fred Johnson for death. Yeah, that's huge.
- 33:06Speaker 1: You got Jordan myy Allot at left tackle, You got
- 33:08Speaker 1: Lane Johnson at right tackle for at least one more year.
- 33:11Speaker 1: You bring back Fred Johnson. So you feel good about
- 33:14Speaker 1: your swing, Well, you feel good about your your right
- 33:16Speaker 1: tackle situation. I know Fred did play a little bit
- 33:18Speaker 1: of left tackle last year as well. If I'm not
- 33:21Speaker 1: mistaken a couple of snaps. I think my a Lota
- 33:25Speaker 1: came out of one game and he played, or maybe
- 33:26Speaker 1: is the resting starters game at the end of the year.
- 33:30Speaker 1: I think Fred played left tackle and then somebody else
- 33:32Speaker 1: played right tackle.
- 33:33Speaker 2: Oh, Cam Williams Cameron.
- 33:34Speaker 1: Williams came in, right, Yeah, so that so so there
- 33:38Speaker 1: you go, he can be a swing tackle. But everybody,
- 33:41Speaker 1: you know, Cameron Williams is a guy who I think
- 33:45Speaker 1: what we what we said was and Greg Cosell broke
- 33:49Speaker 1: it down. He had good snaps in that game, in
- 33:52Speaker 1: that resting starter season finale, but that was because the
- 33:56Speaker 1: expectation was very low for him. It was a project
- 33:59Speaker 1: Day three pick. It wasn't a great game. It was
- 34:01Speaker 1: just that he was able to show he could handle
- 34:03Speaker 1: some snaps at that level.
- 34:05Speaker 3: Yeah, he's a project, but man, it was very intriguing,
- 34:09Speaker 3: Like he leaves you wanting to see more, Like it
- 34:12Speaker 3: was that good, Like you go, wow, okay, we can
- 34:14Speaker 3: work with this. But Stout's gone, right, so now the
- 34:18Speaker 3: techniques may change a little bit with the new offensive
- 34:20Speaker 3: line coach. Show that's that's kind of the unknown here.
- 34:23Speaker 1: Yeah, and remember, you know, we'll talk about this with
- 34:25Speaker 1: Cameron Williams, with the other guy that drafted last year,
- 34:28Speaker 1: Miles hitting a tackle with Holland Pierce, the Rutgers kids.
- 34:32Speaker 1: These guys are enormous, mauling wingspan guy Holland Pierce has
- 34:37Speaker 1: an eighty eight and like one quarter inch wingspan. I mean,
- 34:41Speaker 1: he's gigantic, but that's the formula. That's the template that
- 34:46Speaker 1: Stoutland really liked. He liked the big mauling road graders,
- 34:50Speaker 1: and he figured he would be able to get to
- 34:51Speaker 1: them in past pro if they had slow feet, he
- 34:54Speaker 1: would help them figure it out, but they would maul
- 34:56Speaker 1: in the run. You're now talking about a new type
- 34:59Speaker 1: of blocking scheme and system, and you do have to
- 35:01Speaker 1: wonder if some of these guys are going to adapt
- 35:03Speaker 1: well to a horizontal ish blocking scheme.
- 35:07Speaker 3: Cam Woyens, by the way, six five and three quarters,
- 35:10Speaker 3: he's got great length, three seventeenth the combine last er
- 35:12Speaker 3: thirty four and a half inch arms, eighty four and
- 35:14Speaker 3: a half inch wingspan, but biggest hands of any offensive
- 35:17Speaker 3: lineman eleven and three ace, which is massive. So he's
- 35:21Speaker 3: just got ideal length. I mean, really, what you what
- 35:24Speaker 3: you're looking for? You?
- 35:24Speaker 2: It's very rare.
- 35:25Speaker 3: Length is probably the term. And he did put some
- 35:28Speaker 3: intriguing STAPs out against watching. He's a guy that wait,
- 35:32Speaker 3: year two is gonna be big for him in this offseason.
- 35:34Speaker 1: Absolutely absolutely, So that's it. That's that's your depth situation.
- 35:38Speaker 1: That's your depth chart for the entire offense, and in
- 35:41Speaker 1: the next episode we'll go through defense, unless, of course,
- 35:45Speaker 1: Ego starts signing a bunch of guys and we might
- 35:47Speaker 1: do a breaking news type pod then and then get
- 35:49Speaker 1: back to us, But for now, that's gonna do it
- 35:52Speaker 1: for this edition of Inside the Birds, the leading podcast
- 35:55Speaker 1: and Eagles Intel, and as always, we thank you for
- 35:58Speaker 1: flying with us Inside the Birds,
