Transcript
- 0:00Big nighty here point seven, it's Pike and Amanda in the morning. Gonna
- 0:02be smoky today, but still a hive about seventy one. So people online,
- 0:06we're sharing things from your childhood without saying your age. Okay, say
- 0:09something that was from your childhood that kids now would have no idea what you're
- 0:14talking about this, Okay, think about it. So for me, like
- 0:21there's a lot of phone related things, obviously, you know kids nowadays.
- 0:25Never I feel like our generation, Amanda was like kind of the last one
- 0:28to experience both, Like we grew up with, you know, your regular
- 0:30house phones. I just remember one when I was a kid, and like
- 0:33you wanted to call your friend or a girl, and you had to call
- 0:37their house and just like hope to God that their parents didn't answer, you
- 0:41know, like or their dad, Oh my God, asking for high as
- 0:44Jessica there, who's this? It's like Jesus, hang up. Never mind
- 0:49just knowing that somebody else could pick up, because you could hear the little
- 0:53if your brother or you know what I mean, somebody was going to be
- 0:55listening, or all of a sudden, you were in the middle of a
- 0:58conversation and you have somebody trying to get on the internet, logging onto AOL
- 1:03yes or I c Q chats. One of mine was writing the school bus,
- 1:08and I thought I was pretty cool. You'd have right when the CDs
- 1:12first came out, but the disc man and you'd try to get your CD
- 1:17because it would always skip. You know what I mean, like every time
- 1:19you bounced, anytime you did anything, Oh, yeahs run a rural round
- 1:23like we you know, we had a gravel road all the way to school.
- 1:26So yeah, you bet that thing with skip. And that's why when
- 1:29they came out with skip protection, although it hardly would remember that skip protection,
- 1:33oh with bass double bass boosts occasionally, I do remember the first time
- 1:38I realized that the CD cleaner was basically Windex and you were, oh,
- 1:42yeah, but you paid top dollar for yeah exactly, might as well have
- 1:45us water. That's also there were some good ones on here, like having
- 1:49to find tune the TV antenna after you selected the channel. TV's alone have
- 1:53changed so much in our lives. One, they got a lot cheaper.
- 1:56You know, it's crazy way if you just want like a forty inch TV,
- 1:59it's so cheap relative to what it used to be. Yeah, because
- 2:00I remember it was like thousands of thousands of dollars. Now they have like
- 2:04the UK TV round all that kind of stuff. That's crazy, but ultimately
- 2:07for your genera TVs that we used to get for thousands of dollars or not.
- 2:12I remember we got a big screen TV when we were in the ninety
- 2:15late nineties. Can I remember watching Austin Powers on it. It was so
- 2:17big. I mean you need a semi truck in like eleven dudes to get
- 2:22it into your basement. Another one for me was every Sunday before church,
- 2:25I would grab a cassette and put the tape on it hit record, and
- 2:30then you would sit there and listen to like the Top forty countdown, Oh
- 2:32Carson Daily in your No was before Carson Rick D's, Oh Rick D's in
- 2:38the Weekly Top four day Yeah, oh my god. Yeah. So that
- 2:42was a big one. Like if you were in the nineties and Hope in
- 2:45the DJ wouldn't be talking those annoying radio DJs. As soon as they came
- 2:47on, It's like shot up, just play the music, SEEZ. No,
- 2:53I don't think I ever felt that way. I'm just trying to drive
- 2:55to work. No. I love I love a little companionship, Oh the
- 2:59air did your friends. We'd always get together for sleepovers and we would call
- 3:02the radio stations over and over again to hear our songs that you wanted to
- 3:07hear absolutely and they never played them. And now you know, every once
- 3:10a while they give you the shout out the microphones are like, Okay,
- 3:14we're gonna flirt with them, and they'd be like, oh my gosh,
- 3:16we just love listening to you. We also were we already used to try
- 3:20to flirt with the guys on the homework help line? Did you really what
- 3:23is wrong with you? The homework help line? I figured they were bored?
- 3:30Yeah, hello, Matt, how are you today? Do you really
- 3:32want the math to ittor guy flirting with you? I mean you just never
- 3:37know, you know, being able to roam miles away from your home after
- 3:40school without your parents having a clue where you are. They just didn't care.
- 3:45Well, you know them cell phones or anything, they didn't they What
- 3:46are the apps? Do you track your kids? I supposed probably not yet,
- 3:50but they will be. Yeah, you're gonna track those kids when they
- 3:53came out. We put a chip in them. Now that's Smart's like a
- 3:58minute in the morning big nutty point seven. There are four important aspects of
- 4:03a great kiss. So if you're looking to have a great kiss, these
- 4:05are the things to you consider. One how good the kiss physically felt?
- 4:11Oh yeah, because sometimes it's just the embrace for me, like just the
- 4:15hold where it's like that really like meant something. You feel that absolutely well.
- 4:20There's you know, things to consider like how they moved their tongue,
- 4:24lips, and head to how their breath smelled. Of course. Another,
- 4:28would you ever pull out if you're kissing somebody and you're like, oh yes,
- 4:31and would you say something or would you just pretend like you had something
- 4:34to do? No? I mean at this point it's just husband and wife's
- 4:38situation and you're just kind of like, okay, all right, hang on.
- 4:42Oh yeah, but I feel like I know too going into it,
- 4:44like right now, three cups of coffee deep. If Nick were to come
- 4:46in here, I'm not gonna be like that's scross. But what about right
- 4:49when you wake up? You know, because a lot of people say,
- 4:53ye, right when you wake up, that's an excellent time for yes,
- 4:59my horse zone. But morning breath is a thing, and oh my god,
- 5:02isn't it Where it's like you just kind of kiss over to the side
- 5:05of the cheek, or you like close mouth kiss a little. Yeah,
- 5:09he's not like right, Yeah. Another important aspect of a great kiss is
- 5:15your kissing partner. That's integral fifty percent of the equation. Sure you know
- 5:20who you kissed and whether you had a romantic or intimate connection with them.
- 5:25Was it a stranger, a crush or a long time partner? Ever do
- 5:30like redo kisses? No, I don't. You can feel free to elaborate,
- 5:33but I'm gonna guess no. So sometimes like Nickel come in and he'll
- 5:38be like, I'm like what was that? Like why why did you come
- 5:43on? Or you know, in the morning and I'll try to go in
- 5:45and he thinks, I'm just I can't see in the morning because I've just
- 5:47gotten ready in the bathroom, shot the light off. And this is me
- 5:50trying to find him in the middle of the morning, like and I'll kiss
- 5:55him like on the ear, and then it's like I'm making my way over.
- 5:58I'm like, I don't know, I'm just trying to give me a
- 6:00kiss this morning. Yeah, you're feeling for character, like where are Okay,
- 6:03here's an eyeball, so it's got to be south about six inches.
- 6:06So sometimes they started to speak just like rub all the way, like okay,
- 6:10there's your face, good morning, honey, have a good day.
- 6:14Make any pit stops. When and where the kiss happened another important aspect of
- 6:21a great kiss, right, the context of circumstances around it, Like was
- 6:25it a spontaneous in the bar, just met this person? You're wasted make
- 6:30out? Oh the days of that. I think we got kicked out of
- 6:32the pickled Parrot once you were Lauren, and I was gonna say, I
- 6:35remember when you and low got together. You and Lauren had this so much
- 6:41passion for one another, especially after a few cocktails. Yeah, it's weirdo.
- 6:44That worked and we still do a man it don't act like you don't
- 6:46think we're at home making out in the kitchen all of the time. And
- 6:51then also your emotional experience another important factor. At how you felt emotionally during
- 6:56the kiss. Did you feel excited? You fork in love or repost I
- 7:00hope you're not repulsed, because if you're agreeing to a kiss, have you
- 7:04ever had a really bad kiss? Oh? Sure? What would really?
- 7:08I mean? Were they're like doing the tongue dart thing. I don't know.
- 7:11Yeah, some people are really weird about that and stuff. I feel
- 7:15like you're a biter. No, I'm not a bird. I know what
- 7:17you're talking about, though, because yes, where it's like they'll take your
- 7:21like they like suck your lip, and it's like, yeah, yeah,
- 7:25hey, this is passionate, yell take Ali. That hurt him. Did
- 7:30not turn me on one bit. No, but I do. I remember,
- 7:32and it's not just because he's my husband, but I remember when Nick
- 7:35and I kind of first kissed. Just it wasn't like a tongue dart.
- 7:40It wasn't. It was just like nice, passionate, like a little tongue
- 7:43just like a trying to I'm trying to explain it the best I can with
- 7:48that. I feel like I'm kissing Nick the way you're describing its weird.
- 7:51Do you remember your first kiss? I thought it was Urgle, but the
- 7:56one I remember was, yeah, Urgle Clubs. I don't think it was
- 8:00him though, I can't remember if it was Jason, Ryan or Earl and
- 8:03there was I've been Jason and how old are you talking here? Like sixth
- 8:09grade? And I remember having really tiny lips, really tiny legs. Oh
- 8:13poor guy. Yeah, and due probably not much. Remember I had I
- 8:18had big lips, and that they were telling me they were trying to talk
- 8:20me into play in the tuba and they were too big, said of the
- 8:24trumpet. Right, God, that's too bad. I remember I had a
- 8:26very second grade I was smooching already. It was this girl who I was
- 8:31like, Yeah, I was, I was in love and second grade and
- 8:33this girl moved from so I was going to Glyndon Elementary and she was moving
- 8:37to West Fargo, so basically might as well have been on the other side
- 8:41of the planet. Oh for sure, you know I'm never gonna see it
- 8:43ever. Well, then I got an invite to her birthday party that summer
- 8:46and we were on a little horse character. I don't know where we were
- 8:48scared are you making this up? And it was like the notebook? But
- 8:52in second grade? Okay, so I don't know. We were in a
- 8:54park and far it could have been an island park. Where did they do
- 8:58horse character? Yes, I don't know. Your palms were sweaty palms,
- 9:00sweaty knees, wheat balms were heavy. How were your lips though? That
- 9:05smoot what did you like him before? She just went in and listen.
- 9:09Oh yeah, an aggressive one. I never saw her again, literally never
- 9:13saw her again. So and she very well could be listening right now.
- 9:16We looked her up on Facebook. I don't know. I'm sure I did
- 9:18at one point, but no, you know what she's thinking, My gosh,
- 9:20I should have stuck it out with that guy. He could be talking
- 9:24about me on the radio in the morning. Dogs out. Imagine I mean,
- 9:33the horror of having it just a young puppy, Your family's just getting
- 9:35to know it. You got maybe a young child who's falling in love with
- 9:37this pet, and then one day a gate gets left open. No,
- 9:43the dog goes missing. Just crush. I can't imagine not finding the dog
- 9:46like that, because then your mind is going, did it pass? Did
- 9:50somebody take it? Like there's no closure? Well, they happened to this
- 9:54family twelve years ago. They had a little pup named Minion. Minion got
- 10:00out of the gate when a maintenance worker came to the home to do some
- 10:03work. Well, he was careless and left the gate open, which is
- 10:07a whole other, very annoying detail. But Minion got away and they couldn't
- 10:11find Minion. So years have gone by year, literally eleven years since Minion
- 10:16went missing. Well, the family got a very unexpected surprise this past week.
- 10:22For twelve long years, or sixty four in dog time, Minion has
- 10:26been on quite the adventure. It was really cute when we lost him.
- 10:31So I'm sure someone someone took him. That's what the dad of the dogs
- 10:33suspected. Well, you know, if it was an ugly dog, they
- 10:37wouldn't have bothered they. Yeah, you hope that it goes to a great
- 10:41home or somebody finds somebody. Again, it's that closure, you have no
- 10:43idea. Well, Minion showed up at a dog pound twelve years later,
- 10:48Amanda, and thank god Minion was micro chip because they were able to find
- 10:54the original owners. I mean, obviously a little sensitive because we lost our
- 10:58dog recently, but a lot of dogs don't make it to twelve. Like
- 11:01this is crazy, that's amazing, right, So where do you think Minian
- 11:05was just running aimlessly through the woods or do we think that somebody just maybe
- 11:09took Minion in and now they've lost their dog they've had for eleven years.
- 11:13See, I never even thought about it that way, because now can you
- 11:16really go, oh, this is my dog. I mean, yes,
- 11:18technically originally it was, but I would like to think you probably moved on
- 11:22from the dog after twelve years. Well, here's how it went down.
- 11:24On Friday, Minnion was picked up here near forty eighth Avenue and Glendale,
- 11:30just about ten miles away from where the Crandell family lives. No way,
- 11:35it was right there the whole time. It's like, you know, you
- 11:37hear about the kids getting a kidnapped in like they were living down the road
- 11:39the whole time. Does that happen? Did that happen? Ever? Once?
- 11:43Did that happen? Who's that one? Lady Elizabeth Smart? Is she
- 11:46the one that got kidnapped? Yeah? The road? Maybe? I don't
- 11:50know, aren't you our true crime plot twist? Jeez, this is sorry
- 11:56dog. Back to the dog Pike's like, yeah, they could have been
- 11:58at the dog park together this whole time and didn't even know what their damn
- 12:01dog used to look like because it was so long a dog. Well the
- 12:05Dogtown, for their part, they said, you know, getting reunited with
- 12:07a dog after this long does it happened? Very often? It doesn't happen
- 12:09as often as we would like. Just so you know it doesn't It doesn't.
- 12:15No, it's not like a daily occurrence by any means. But now
- 12:18for the family who's now been reunited with their sweet little pump Minion, who's
- 12:22uh in there's I don't know if it's a boy or a girl, does
- 12:24meany It sounds like a boy or a girl. Minion sounds like a little
- 12:26boy, a little boy. Yeah, Well, they're they're very excited to
- 12:30spend what time they have left with Minion. It's fine, he has a
- 12:31few good years left at him. So we haven't trained to use the dog
- 12:35door already, and and I think just fine here with us for a few
- 12:41years. I don't know it trained to use the dog door. Previous owners
- 12:45already did that because you know the old saying. I don't need to remind
- 12:50you about old dogs and new tricks. This is a heartwarming. Sorry here,
- 12:56I'm trying to like work. You've brought up chilled being kidnapped. To
- 13:01listen, I get a lot of feedback on the show being too silly.
- 13:03I never never take anything seriously. You're on trying to give you a heartwarming,
- 13:07uplifting story. I apologize. Heget management did have a talk with us
- 13:11that we're too silly. So I'm just glad that Minion's home with the original
- 13:16rightful owners and knows how to use a doctor and there. It seems like
- 13:18he's got a lot of years left in him. But at least three,
- 13:22that's what we're thinking. I mean, I've never seen a fifteen year old
- 13:26dog, but I hope minions the exception in the morning. You're ready,
- 13:35ready, that's he is typing hot today. No, Amanda steals the sea.
- 13:41Let's see rounds you by Valley service mechanical. So much drama surrounding Bernice
- 13:48Bears, I mean, it is one thing after another. We'll dive into
- 13:50her instagram here in a second. But there are new reports saying that Sam
- 13:56was scheming the entire time with her dad to provide him personal details, saying
- 14:00basically that he wanted to keep her in this conservatorship. In exchange, Sam
- 14:03would give some sort of access to information and then he would get some sort
- 14:09of money in return. I feel like we would be able to follow along
- 14:13with that somehow in the court system, because her dad was supposed to sit
- 14:15down for a deposition last summer and still hasn't. Yeah, if he was
- 14:18a mole the whole time. I mean that that'd be hard to believe in
- 14:22at what cost. I mean, if you're getting money out of the deal,
- 14:24I get it, But to put up with what seemingly was a pretty
- 14:28insufferable situation, I mean, how much money would that take for you to
- 14:31do that? Yeah? I don't know. He did, By the way,
- 14:33unfollow her on social media and is avoiding questions in the media when asking
- 14:37about the split. He's basically just simply saying, I'm not talking about my
- 14:39personal life. I had pointed it out to you earlier. She posted over
- 14:45the week in a picture of a guy in a bedsheet kind of like a
- 14:48toga yeah, or a diaper diaper Yeah. However, you want to look
- 14:52at that and just put in the caption, M what is that? What
- 14:56is it like? Look? Would I just not like? That's what girlfriends
- 15:00and I were talking about? Who is this guy? What's going on?
- 15:01Especially when there's been rumors about you cheating on your man with some sort of
- 15:07security officer or a guy that was on in your house. I don't know
- 15:11it. It feels nasty, Yeah, it was a good word for it.
- 15:15Nasty, nasty, being nasty girl, nasty and it happened yesterday and
- 15:20Joe Jonas officially by for divorce with Sophie Turner. Just really sad because they
- 15:24do have two little girls, three and one. They just released a statement
- 15:28moments ago, after four wonderful years of marriage, we have decided this is
- 15:33gonna shock you, Pike, to mutually and amicably end our marriage. There
- 15:37are no speculative narratives as to why, but truly this is a united decision,
- 15:43and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us
- 15:48and our children. And you know what, it sounds great, that's what
- 15:50they all say. I thought that was actually you very well could have been.
- 15:56No, that was a yawn sound effect, because I'm just tired of
- 16:00these stupid joint statements. Give us the details, give us the juice,
- 16:03or don't say anything. It was a divorce, it's not you make it.
- 16:06They're like glamorizing divorce, like we had a great run and you know
- 16:08it's just our the contract came up. But man, we enjoyed every second
- 16:11of it and we're done perfect. Yeah, well you were pointing out too.
- 16:15Just a couple of weeks ago, they had on her Instagram they looked
- 16:18like they were lovey dovey up on the Graham. How could they possibly be
- 16:22a gone rob in just weeks time? What could have happened? Well?
- 16:26Some are saying that she liked to party, he liked to stay home.
- 16:29They just had different lifestyles. He is out on tour right now with the
- 16:32kids, and she's supposed to be in Hollywood working on something, but last
- 16:36we heard there's a writer strike going on, so it sounds like she's just
- 16:37a party girl. Yeah, we liked to party on what you said?
- 16:41You do you girl? And did you see this video of Tom Brady?
- 16:48He was doing a promo video for the NFL, and I don't think anybody
- 16:52even knows what it's about because all you could do is look at his face
- 16:55and go, it's not really moving. His eyebrowser stuck up. You can
- 16:59tell he's had a little work done. Which whatever again, you do you?
- 17:03Tom? You're retired too, Just get out of here. I thought
- 17:07I wouldn't have to see you again for a while. No. Some are
- 17:08calling him Botox Brady, bois City, Botox City, Jesus. Some are
- 17:14saying he's a knockoff Giselle. Botox City, Jesus. Now, that's a
- 17:18cool nickname. I don't even care if it makes you feel bad. You
- 17:22got it's a cool nickname. Do you have any nicknames growing up that hurt
- 17:26your feelings? Stinky? Well, yeah, your friends still call you stinky.
- 17:30I've never known you to be very stinky. I'm not stinky at all.
- 17:33I mean we're all a little stinky if you sniff close enough, like
- 17:41a mina in the morning on Big Nutty eight point seven. First, can
- 17:44we reminisce online people are talking about without saying your age? Okay, don't
- 17:52tell us how old you are, but say something from your childhood that kids
- 17:56now would just have no idea what you're talking about. You know, we
- 17:57were talking about the phone stuff, you know, whether it's like, you
- 18:02know, having to share the phone or calling a friend and hoping to God
- 18:04their parents didn't answer, if you want to like talk to a boy or
- 18:07a girl or something. I feel like electronics are kind of that test of
- 18:10time, whatever you device you ended up having, whether you were the late
- 18:15nineties early two thousand generation with the Nokia, you know what I mean.
- 18:18And how many phone covers did you have? Did you have so many?
- 18:22Oh? Yeah, phone covers. When the motor Razor came out and had
- 18:25a video, you could take video on your phone, Mike. I mean
- 18:27it was the grainiest video you've ever seen. Yeah, I do love sometimes
- 18:30when it shows up and even time hoop that dates me and I still say
- 18:33that. But Facebook, mems or any of that shows up, Like who
- 18:37took that picture? Was I underwater at the bar or in that picture?
- 18:40Other people were saying, you know, being able to roam miles from your
- 18:42home after school without your parents having any clue who you were. One person
- 18:45said Germany was two countries, remember those times? Amandam no? I just
- 18:51going back to the Roman around Deer Creek where we were. Roman used to
- 18:56have it, and I think they still do have the town bell that would
- 18:59ring it new in six. Don't those bells still ring if they have them.
- 19:02I'm pretty sure they do. So at six o'clock, you knew you
- 19:04had to get home because that was supper time. Yep seven to one two
- 19:07eight one ninety eight seven. If you got one, somebody else had six
- 19:11to eight weeks for delivery. Remember that. I remember ordering the VHS set
- 19:15of like WrestleMania WWF. You know you could I ordered it from a WDF
- 19:18magazine. I remember for weeks on end just asking my mom to call ups
- 19:23or whatever and like see where the package was. There was no tracking number.
- 19:26Yeah. No, I'm trying to remember how long BMG and Columbia House.
- 19:30I felt like you were. I felt like they were Johnny on the
- 19:33Spot. I don't know if it was any Amazon Prime Next day delivery,
- 19:36No, but I don't remember weeks on end seven, one, two,
- 19:38eight, one ninety eight seven. Good morning, Hi. I was just
- 19:41listening it. And then you guys remember the waterbed watery One of them had
- 19:45a water bed and that was just the coolest I know. And I'd have
- 19:51the sleepover. We'd all sleep on it, and I thought, gosh,
- 19:53And then now you can't even have them an apartment. I don't they sell
- 19:56me, but they were so fun. I think those are all the people
- 19:59you hear about with back problems. Now, those are the people who would
- 20:02waters that might not be good for the old spine. Gosh, I got
- 20:06a belt those To imagine, a bedroom of the nineties is like a water
- 20:08bed and then a lava that's where you had your Did you guys have those
- 20:15phones that you could see through like they're the purple or blue. And then
- 20:21when I got are awesome, I used to go and get everything at Fashion
- 20:25Bug in their little section bug. I totally forgot about that. A good
- 20:30times, appreciate it, have a good day. You doub why was it
- 20:33that, Like there was such concern about lava lamps. I remember wanting them,
- 20:37so I was obsessed with lava lamps. But I think my parents said
- 20:40they would start a fire or something. I think it kind of happened,
- 20:42just like nowadays, trying to relate it. Where you keep yourself phone on
- 20:47your bed. Some people say it could start a fire if it's by your
- 20:49pillow. Would it happened one time and it ruined for everybody else? Usually
- 20:52that's how it works, Pike. That's how it works America. Like a
- 20:57minute in the morning, get up seven man? Is it nearly in tears
- 21:03this morning? All morning? You know, you think it'd be a happy
- 21:07day. You got a three year old in the house now, I know,
- 21:11but it's my baby and it's already been three years. It's crazy to
- 21:14me. Everybody tells you the days are long, but the years fly by,
- 21:18and that is so true, true, so true. You know,
- 21:21if you want to have another baby, you can just you start the timeline
- 21:22over. What do you think of that? I think we're good. We're
- 21:26in a really good place. Well, we have a special guest on the
- 21:29show, because on the phone right now is said three year old Amanda's son
- 21:33Briggs. Good morning, true? Are you three years old? Briggs?
- 21:38Yep? What are you doing? Yes? Nice? What are you gonna
- 21:47do for your birthday? Briggs? Dinner? I love that Sid is chiming.
- 21:53So what the birthday plans are? Because it's her birthday too, you
- 21:56know? Yeah, now this one's for Briggs. What do you want for
- 22:00your birthday? Oh? Poop poop? One? A little maybe? Chapter?
- 22:08I mean, who knows, who knows? They could be a wild
- 22:11day, Briggs. Are you excited for mommy to get home? No?
- 22:15No? No? Hey hey, hey, hey, mommy wishes she was
- 22:18there. What is daddy doing for your birthday this morning? Is he taking
- 22:22you to get donuts? Yeah? Well he is now if he wasn't,
- 22:27hey, got me right there? As for stopping for donuts, now my
- 22:33way out of this one. Well, happy birthday, Briggs. Have a
- 22:36good day. Baba. I love you somebody, I love you more?
- 22:40Hey, listen. If you guys are stopping to get donuts, you mind
- 22:42grabbing a couple of extras swinging them on by the radio station. Really appreciate
- 22:48it. Who we'll all celebrate Briggs's birthday a little out of my way.
- 22:52You got time, come on see what I can do? Thanks Nick,
- 22:56You guys get a minute in the morning, Big eight point seven. We
- 23:00can all the green gender reveals have gone too far, but in this case
- 23:04it went far too far because they got an airplane involved, you know,
- 23:10a small airplane. Right, So the gender reveal for this couple like not
- 23:14like a Blippy thing where they just put like the what the birth of it?
- 23:18Or the blippy thing you're talking about? Blimp's he watched too much kids
- 23:22TV Blippy. They have Blippy flying in the air like that. If Blippy
- 23:26did the gender reveal would be like, hey, hey it's a bully Blippy.
- 23:33Oh my gosh, you kind of nailed that. Trust me. I've
- 23:37seen a lot of Blippy side note didn't you gulf with him? Oh I
- 23:42didn't meet Blippy? Yeah. For example, if you know who Blippy is,
- 23:45he's like this basic when he's started on YouTube, but he's just like
- 23:48a modern day blues clues, Steve, I guess basically, yes, really
- 23:52cheesy stuff. I don't know how he sleeps at night personally, but he's
- 23:56probably making a lot of money, so I guess it's not like a blimp
- 24:00in the small little plane. All right, So they had the plane fly
- 24:03over and smoke came out of it, and it was pink smoke. Girl,
- 24:07that is aggressive. Holy cow. Okay, well, here's where the
- 24:11story turns grim because shortly after the plane flew over and released the pink dust,
- 24:18the airplane crashed, killing thirty two year old pilot. Yeah what Yeah,
- 24:27So okay, here's where I feel like we can draw the line when
- 24:33it comes to gender reveals. I mean, if started that wildfire in California
- 24:36too at one point, right, which is so, I mean, this
- 24:37is just sad, Like, listen, the guy losing his life horrible.
- 24:41Yes, the wildfire thing was the most annoying thing, the single most annoying
- 24:45thing I've ever heard, and I've seen blippy Okay, yeah, it's up
- 24:48there that in Peppa Pig. But but really, when he gets the bloine
- 24:52worth anybody not even death, but just risking injury, you know, things
- 24:56exploding, Yeah, there's there's definitely a line. I don't know. I
- 25:02remember my gender reveal with Sidney lu Anne and you had how many relic string
- 25:06involved? How many did we did we lose that day? A pair of
- 25:10Nick's pants? I know that. Yeah, good, your husband Nick was
- 25:12in here and I remember I spraying them right for some reason, just right
- 25:17in the Crotchell region with pink silly string. Ridiculous. Now you got yourself
- 25:22a whole little lady and that crazy how it works time? Sure? Does
- 25:26I know? We were just talking about it. Briggsy turns three to day
- 25:29got a four year old. But even just in general, after the first
- 25:32gender reveal, not saying it loses its luster, but like when we had
- 25:34Briggs that he was like the doctor called and said, hey, we know
- 25:38what you're gonna have, and we're like, speak your phone? Cool,
- 25:41what is it? And the third one? If you have a third one,
- 25:45which I don't think you are, but if you did, I wouldn't
- 25:48want to know. You wouldn't want to know. Yeah, just at that
- 25:51point, like make it fun, be a surprise, you know, and
- 25:53you got the perfect little setup of you had the girl and then now you
- 25:57got the boy. Now you're good, right, yeah, yeah, and
- 26:00too healthy little a little too healthy bundles of joy joy. Okay. I
- 26:08was talking to a friend though. I have a friend who's he's not pregnant,
- 26:11but his wife is, and you know, he's not going to do
- 26:14a gender reveal. In fact, I you know, I think they found
- 26:15out, but you know they're not going to tell anybody really, okay,
- 26:18because it's I kind of like the does anybody care? You know, is
- 26:22it just this big show of like, hey look at me. No.
- 26:25I think it really depends on your personality. I was very type and wanted
- 26:29to have everything said and done. Now they're making everything even after having kids
- 26:33four years ago, three years ago, everything is more gender neutral too.
- 26:36I know you could do that. Before it was like green, you know.
- 26:38Now everything's kind of like that tan brown creamware. I would be more
- 26:42apt to go, Okay, this is a vibe that I can do the
- 26:45whole nursery and do all this stuff and cream yeah, like ivory. Oh
- 26:53yeah, this is interesting clothing on just yeah. Now when a baby comes
- 26:56out, they just put whipped cream all over there. You go, gotcha
- 27:02minute in the morning. Seven. You guys know this one well, I'm
- 27:11anna, shall we try to get somebody out of the friend zone kindl like
- 27:14we've been on not a good it's just been real, so we can do.
- 27:17We have Derek on the phone, who's going through it right now.
- 27:19Good morning, Derek. How are you? Thank you so much for helping
- 27:22me? Hey, thank you for We're gonna try. We're gonna do our
- 27:26best. All right, So Derek, what's going on with Avery? All
- 27:29right? I was at my boss threw a work barbecue at his lake house
- 27:33this weekend and his daughter was there. Yeah, his daughter was there,
- 27:40Derek, Come on, now you're serious, right, Yeah, this sounds
- 27:44like daughter Avery? Alright? That is she's so hot, She's so hot
- 27:48this whole day? Is Avery? Give us like a rough estimate of age
- 27:52here, because I think we're all going to like, Okay, is she
- 27:53like fifteen sixteen? No, I'm not a creep. She's like twenty two.
- 27:59Okay, perfectly legitimate adult relationship potentially here. Now the other issue is
- 28:03your it's your boss's daughter. But we'll get to that in a second.
- 28:07All right, tell us what happened? Right? So I met her this
- 28:10weekend. She was cool, we vibe. I was I just couldn't.
- 28:14I was gonna ask her out, I just could not get the nerve up
- 28:18to do it. I completely chickened out, so like a partial creep.
- 28:22I got her phone number from my buddy of mine is so good. So
- 28:27I've been sitting on that and I was like, oh, should I text
- 28:30her? Out of the blue? Maybe calls? And I was like,
- 28:33you know, I'm gonna take a shot, and I'm gonna do it on
- 28:36the radio. All right. So now, Derek, I also do need
- 28:38to prepare you for the possibility that this blows up, goes horribly wrong,
- 28:42and now your boss is going to find out that you tried to date his
- 28:45daughter on the radio. You're prepared for that. Yeah. I've been fired
- 28:49from every job I've ever had, so I'll be fine. Oh my gosh.
- 28:52All right, Derek. Well, let's call Avery and find out what
- 28:56she's thinking. So you stay quiet, okay, all right? All right
- 28:59here? Yeah, I don't even know what to think. Is gonna.
- 29:03I don't feel great about this, but sure, Hello, Hi is this
- 29:07Avery? This is Avery. Avery's Pike and Amanda in the morning on Big
- 29:12ninety eight point seven, we do a radio show. Good we talked to
- 29:15you for a second, just real quick. Okay, what are we weird?
- 29:22I know, but we have to talk to you about something because we
- 29:25had a little Bertie tell us that somebody's got a crush on you, and
- 29:29we just thought, used to know. Does anybody come to mind when we
- 29:30say they got a crush on you? No? No, not really seems
- 29:40very confused by this, like this is legit. There is somebody who wanted
- 29:44us to reach out to you. First of all, I guess are you
- 29:47single? Yes? Okay, off to a great start. Is there anybody
- 29:51like you're interested in? Would you say at the moment, and you can
- 29:53be honest with us, is there anybody you've got a crush on At the
- 29:56moment? I am digging deep. Uh, well, no one's coming.
- 30:07No, maybe we should ask her what did you do this weekend? Long
- 30:10holiday weekend? Anything fun? Well? It was pretty low key. I
- 30:15just like lung out with my family pretty much like just like how to barbecue?
- 30:22Did you, okabecue anybody gets your eye over the weekend? Oh god,
- 30:29that would be weird. That was my family. No, that would
- 30:33be I hope not cousins cut your eye? Be God? No, didn't
- 30:41your dad have some friends over, maybe some co workers, employees whoa I'd
- 30:48like his co workers. I guess we're there. Yeah, now that you
- 30:52mentioned it, I think we just cut to the chase, Amanda. Yeah,
- 30:55I've been dancing around this for too long. One of them like you
- 30:57are so so okay? Yeah, what if we told you it was one
- 31:02of And don't tell your dad. I don't know if he's near you right
- 31:04now, but let's leave him out of this friend One of the people in
- 31:07attendance is the one that let us know that they had a little crush on
- 31:11you. Oh jeez, okay, go for it. How about Derek boy?
- 31:18Oh? Oh, I know Derek? Doing you know him right?
- 31:23Yes? Yes, he's very cute. Yeah he's cool. He's cute,
- 31:27Okay, cool cute? No, but this is yeah, sounds like the
- 31:33perfect man. What's happening? This is weird? Why am I? Okaysen?
- 31:37Avery? Let's be honest. We heard from Derek that he had a
- 31:40little crush on you and he wanted to see if we can't, you know,
- 31:42maybe get him out of the friend zone. So surprise, Derek's on
- 31:45the phone. Hello, Derek, Avery, what is up? What?
- 31:53I apologize? Can I start? I started by apologizing for this being so
- 31:59weird. I just I think you're awesome. I wanted to ask you out
- 32:05this weekend. I just could not get up the nerve and I wanted to
- 32:08get your attention in a big way. And yeah, I figured, why
- 32:13not ask you out on the radio and make it a thing and if my
- 32:15life implodes, totally worth it. Avery, What do you think? What
- 32:22are you feeling right now? Well? Yeah, you did get my attention
- 32:25for sure, mission accomplished. I mean, jeez, how can I make
- 32:30your life implode? Sure? I'll go out. Oh my gosh. Okay,
- 32:35so I have to ask are you going to tell your dad? Are
- 32:37you just gonna go and have a date and see how it goes? What's
- 32:40going to happen? Then? I don't know. My mind's a little like
- 32:43blown over, like the country right now. Let's just like go out and
- 32:47then I'll tell my dad. Let's see what happens. Now, Derek,
- 32:52are you are you? Are you prepared? I mean, what's more important
- 32:53to you this very potentially very successful and meaningful relationship with Avery or your job?
- 33:00I mean that's a that's between a rock and a hard place. But
- 33:02I imagine that as successful as I am at work, I would be as
- 33:07successful as a dating partner. I know we're gonna have a great time.
- 33:10We're already vibing, and I am complete. Now I'm up my confidence for
- 33:15fifty one percent to fifty five? Look? Is that okay? All but
- 33:21a sure thing? Oh? I feel like you haven't officially asked her out
- 33:23yet, so you better do all? Right? Right, we'll Chary said,
- 33:27yeah, So okay, if you're free, and because we already know
- 33:30your signal, if you're free next weekend or the weekend after that, can
- 33:35I take you to dinner? Yes? I would be delighted, like or
- 33:40just anytime you're available, anytime day or night. I will obviously just skip
- 33:45work because I don't care too much about it. I'm kidding Darren. So
- 33:50good you guys, Well, good luck, thank you. In the morning,
- 34:00they released yesterday that Bob Barker's cause of death as a result of Alzheimer's.
- 34:05As he is, he was thank god. Well, I mean no,
- 34:07that sounds horrible, obviously, very sad. But I just read I
- 34:10just read a tweet somebody suggested that he was gunned down in a shootout with
- 34:15the cartel. I'm seeing are you seeing this on Twitter? Somebody's trying to
- 34:20stir up rumors. But I mean, listen, and ninety nine years old,
- 34:24that's just a great life. And you know Alzheimer's like eventually things just
- 34:30happen. Right at ninety nine years old, that is a great life.
- 34:34We start this again, and I can tell you right now he didn't get
- 34:37gunned down by the cartel. Listen. I saw that tweet and I thought,
- 34:39that's right. It's very sad. Or you know, as I've told
- 34:49you many times, a man Alzheimer's runs in the family. My grandpa and
- 34:52all of his brothers all died by the time they were seventy one of Alzheimer's.
- 34:55Really, yeah, this is super sad. I started to keep bringing
- 34:59everybody down. But one of his brothers was in a nursing home in Fargo.
- 35:04Walked out one day. They never found him to this day, are
- 35:09you even me? I swear to God, Yeah, this is like probably
- 35:13in the eighties. I think, what, Yeah, walked out one day,
- 35:16never found him for sixteen years, and you've never told me the story.
- 35:22Yeah, it was on the I forget which nursing home, but it
- 35:23was along the Red River, so you know obvious speculations. Okay, holy
- 35:30smokes, Warner Brothers. Discovery expects to lose about five hundred million dollars in
- 35:35twenty twenty three because of the st the writer strike and everything that's going on.
- 35:39It's gonna start affecting people who are watching these shows that you know need
- 35:44a writer because I don't know who's filling in and what's going on. But
- 35:47I don't know. Right now, it seems like it's not a big deal
- 35:50to us because it's not affecting our daily lives. But eventually it's gonna be
- 35:53like, what is a scarbege? We're gonna have reality TV all the time,
- 35:57even that probably has a script. Well the Kardashians, Yeah, yeah,
- 36:02eating artificial intelligence is writing the shows, because that's part of the whole
- 36:07disagreement, right, they're trying to get like the actors. They don't want
- 36:12AI to be in shows. Basically, they're saying they want in the contract
- 36:15that it has to be an actual human because otherwise you're taking jobs from how
- 36:19many Yeah it could be numerous people, right, but I like that Hollywood
- 36:22though, is he ending up? There's a lot of huge celebrities that are
- 36:25backing that yeah, I don't know. I just I started this whole thing.
- 36:34You really, you're really throwing me off to Bob Barker getting gunned down.
- 36:37Yeah. Maybe there's just so many many things happening right now. I
- 36:43just want to tell you, speaking of dead, the five year plan is
- 36:45just gone. The average down by the cartel. The average American is now
- 36:52planning twelve years into the future. Seventy four percent of people say it's just
- 36:54not achievable due to the rising household expenses, inflation, school debt, all
- 37:00of it. So I'm seeking trying to think of how much money people think
- 37:04that they could even save in five years, you know, even paycheck to
- 37:06paycheck some people. Some people don't save at all yet. No, I
- 37:09mean it depends on what your five year plan is. It could be perfectly
- 37:13alive. If your plan is to, I don't know, get breakfast at
- 37:16Denny's. I mean, I think I think that's perfectly attainable. Yeah,
- 37:21No, it definitely is that Grand Slam breakfast delih Otherwise, today's smoky high
- 37:24of seventy one, and I think that's probably a rap. Daddy will shut
- 37:28it down.
