Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: You're listening to Hawk Talk with former Seahawks wide receiver
- 0:04Speaker 1: Michael Bumpus. Play fake, go to roll.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Right, dumps it off into the right flass to Michael Bumpers,
- 0:09Speaker 2: who bounces off a one tackler cats inside the forty
- 0:12Speaker 2: down of the thirty five yard line.
- 0:13Speaker 1: Powered by Seahawks dot Com.
- 0:15Speaker 3: Matt pumpfake's looking at the gold line.
- 0:17Speaker 4: He throws it into the m zone.
- 0:18Speaker 1: Touchdown, Say Hawks.
- 0:20Speaker 2: It's Michael Bumps with a diving catching the end zone,
- 0:23Speaker 2: a ten yard touchdown reception for Bumpers, and a kid
- 0:27Speaker 2: out of Washington State has found himself a place.
- 0:30Speaker 3: On this team.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Now here's your host, Nasa Chobee.
- 0:35Speaker 4: Welcome into another edition of Hawk Talk.
- 0:37Speaker 5: The Seahawks taking down the Commanders twenty nine to twenty
- 0:40Speaker 5: six in a thrilling victory at Luminfield, Jason Myers getting
- 0:43Speaker 5: the game winning field goal, Seahawks back on the right track,
- 0:46Speaker 5: and it's it's crazy bump because we got people around
- 0:48Speaker 5: here thinking that win wasn't good enough, that Gino didn't
- 0:52Speaker 5: play well enough when the man was outstanding. But well
- 0:55Speaker 5: we'll get into all that in a second life. We
- 0:57Speaker 5: do every week. Let's holt our guy Ray Roberts in
- 1:00Speaker 5: the trenches.
- 1:03Speaker 1: It's time to go inside the trenches with former Seahawk
- 1:06Speaker 1: Ray Roberts.
- 1:09Speaker 4: Big Ray Man.
- 1:10Speaker 5: Seahawk get a huge win over the Commanders, led by
- 1:12Speaker 5: an offense that really just won the game. Late in
- 1:15Speaker 5: that game Gino Smith I mentioned it here in the
- 1:18Speaker 5: open I thought he played outstanding through for over three
- 1:21Speaker 5: hundred and sixty yards, two touchdowns, no turnovers, came through
- 1:24Speaker 5: in the clutch.
- 1:25Speaker 4: What did you see from Gino yesterday?
- 1:29Speaker 3: Well, what I saw was probably a little bit more
- 1:32Speaker 3: command of the offense like we saw him early in
- 1:36Speaker 3: the season last year, like the first half of the season.
- 1:38Speaker 3: You know, we just talked about how much command of
- 1:40Speaker 3: the offense he had, getting him in the right situation,
- 1:42Speaker 3: in the right play call at the beginning, getting the
- 1:44Speaker 3: ball off fast, getting JSN going, and then and then
- 1:48Speaker 3: in the running game, getting Knine going. But like I
- 1:51Speaker 3: said in the postgame, the most impressive thing about I
- 1:58Speaker 3: forgot the quarterback saying Gino is that his ability to
- 2:03Speaker 3: you know, there was a couple of throws that he missed,
- 2:04Speaker 3: and there's a couple of miscommunications and you can hear
- 2:07Speaker 3: it in the crowd a little bit, but none of
- 2:09Speaker 3: that stuff ever impacts Geno, So he's able to come back,
- 2:12Speaker 3: you know, with a drive to take the league where
- 2:14Speaker 3: he's five or five or fifty yards, and then the
- 2:16Speaker 3: drive to go for the game winning pick. He was
- 2:19Speaker 3: four or five for like a probably not the fifty yards.
- 2:21Speaker 3: So the dude is able to lock in and get
- 2:24Speaker 3: things done when he needs to lock in and get
- 2:26Speaker 3: it done.
- 2:28Speaker 6: Big Ray.
- 2:29Speaker 7: I really looked at the run game, and I like
- 2:32Speaker 7: what they're doing right. And when I think of the
- 2:33Speaker 7: Hawks run game, I think of lots of zone and
- 2:36Speaker 7: I think we might have touched on this a little
- 2:37Speaker 7: bit yesterday, but they were trapping and pulling with power
- 2:42Speaker 7: and all that stuff, and I think they should lean
- 2:44Speaker 7: into that a bit more, especially with Zach Sharp and
- 2:46Speaker 7: he has a really good feel when it comes to
- 2:48Speaker 7: time and that thing up and letting those linemen.
- 2:50Speaker 6: Work for him.
- 2:51Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, Mike, I think that because of the
- 2:55Speaker 3: lack of the running game, or you know, maybe the
- 2:57Speaker 3: game the game's previously this kind of took you out
- 3:00Speaker 3: of the situation where they only carried the ball to
- 3:02Speaker 3: running bas combined thirteen times a piece and the two
- 3:05Speaker 3: games prior. But I do think that they need to
- 3:07Speaker 3: get into a rhythm where they're using Canon and they're
- 3:11Speaker 3: using Charbonne and the thing with Canaan. So I think
- 3:15Speaker 3: Kanon needs to want with more power to start the
- 3:17Speaker 3: game off, like get the yardish just there, allow the
- 3:20Speaker 3: offensive linemen to get into like this physical nature of
- 3:23Speaker 3: the game, allow the defenders that have to come up,
- 3:26Speaker 3: get off blocks, lean in and make a tackle, and
- 3:29Speaker 3: then you can start doing the bounce to the outside
- 3:32Speaker 3: and making people miss and reverse and field and all
- 3:34Speaker 3: those kinds of things. And then with sharbonnay Man, sharbonay
- 3:37Speaker 3: is built for all that power stuff. He's built to
- 3:39Speaker 3: run behind, pulling tackles and guards and pulling tight ends
- 3:42Speaker 3: and all those types of things. He had the time
- 3:44Speaker 3: and it's perfect and the power that he plays with
- 3:47Speaker 3: is perfectly for it, you know. And so I thought
- 3:50Speaker 3: yesterday they probably should have attacked the edges a little
- 3:52Speaker 3: bit more, because even though they got rid of, you know,
- 3:55Speaker 3: the two defensive ends and Sweat and Young, the two
- 4:01Speaker 3: inside tackles were still former first round draft picks that
- 4:05Speaker 3: are really good football players. And so I thought they
- 4:07Speaker 3: were trying to get up the middle a little too
- 4:09Speaker 3: much and probably should have attacked the edges a little more.
- 4:13Speaker 5: Ray The guys blocking for sharbon A and ken Walker
- 4:16Speaker 5: had a really good day, really good day. They allowed
- 4:18Speaker 5: pressure on a season low twenty one percent of Gino's
- 4:22Speaker 5: dropbacks on Sunday. Entering the game, he'd be taking pressure
- 4:25Speaker 5: at the third highest rate in the NFL thirty nine percent.
- 4:28Speaker 5: So how well did those guys play up front? Jason Peters,
- 4:31Speaker 5: I think only allowed one pressure maybe potentially on thirty
- 4:33Speaker 5: five snaps. What'd you see from those guys and why
- 4:36Speaker 5: do you think that was their best game?
- 4:38Speaker 3: Well, you know, like I said, you know, the Commanders
- 4:41Speaker 3: gave up eleven and a half sacks and the two
- 4:43Speaker 3: guys they'd let go so and those dudes were edge defenders,
- 4:46Speaker 3: and so the guys that they were replaced with were
- 4:48Speaker 3: more like hustle guys. They're going to probably get a
- 4:50Speaker 3: sack off of quarterback having to hold the ball, or
- 4:52Speaker 3: they're sacking to third move, or there's a quick pressure
- 4:55Speaker 3: up the middle on the end of the quarterback has
- 4:56Speaker 3: to rush to the outside. So I felt going into
- 4:59Speaker 3: this game sh be a whole lot of pressure because
- 5:02Speaker 3: of the two studs were gone. Not saying that these
- 5:05Speaker 3: other guys can't play football, but they were the backups
- 5:07Speaker 3: for a reason, and so I thought the office the
- 5:09Speaker 3: line showed up pretty well. I still think they could
- 5:11Speaker 3: have run the ball more. I think K nine maybe
- 5:14Speaker 3: had nineteen rushes and the one catch for sixty four yards,
- 5:17Speaker 3: and I think Charbone had four or five catches, and
- 5:20Speaker 3: so they both averaged over four yards, so a clip
- 5:23Speaker 3: running the ball. I thought they could have run the
- 5:24Speaker 3: ball a little more.
- 5:26Speaker 7: Hey, big Ray, what do you what do you think
- 5:28Speaker 7: of Gino's performance? Man, There's been a lot of you know,
- 5:32Speaker 7: back and forth so far today. Yeah, It's what I've
- 5:35Speaker 7: experienced on Twitter and on the radio and whatnot. And
- 5:38Speaker 7: some people wanted more, some people saying what he's doing
- 5:41Speaker 7: is fine. Me personally, I say, look five or five
- 5:44Speaker 7: game winning drive, seventy five percent and the second half completion.
- 5:47Speaker 6: It was a good game. What do you say?
- 5:49Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, I think you know, Pete and Gino
- 5:52Speaker 3: probably hinted on it both the same a little bit
- 5:55Speaker 3: lead into the game about really not pressing to make plays,
- 5:59Speaker 3: you know, really been the point guard out there. You
- 6:01Speaker 3: have so many dudes that can make the plays to
- 6:03Speaker 3: just get the ball into their hands and you don't
- 6:05Speaker 3: have to take these chances with the ball. And I
- 6:07Speaker 3: think you heard Pete sand that a little bit, and
- 6:09Speaker 3: I heard Geno saying that a little bit. Coming into
- 6:11Speaker 3: this game. You know, to me, there's quarterbacks out there
- 6:16Speaker 3: on other teams that you wish you had, but you
- 6:18Speaker 3: can't have them because they're on other teams. And there's
- 6:21Speaker 3: other quarterbacks on the team that you're glad you don't have,
- 6:23Speaker 3: and they're on other teams. And we have freaking Gino.
- 6:26Speaker 3: And Gino is as good as as all the other
- 6:29Speaker 3: quarterbacks out there. He can make all the throws. He
- 6:31Speaker 3: has the confidence that he has the weapons around himself.
- 6:34Speaker 3: If he can just stay in that lane, then Geno's
- 6:37Speaker 3: gonna be fine. You know, like this this every day,
- 6:40Speaker 3: week to week, day to day. Uh players good players,
- 6:43Speaker 3: bad want them, don't want them? Teams good teams bad.
- 6:46Speaker 3: Is a little bit training. You got to kind of
- 6:48Speaker 3: someone has to keep their eye on the big picture,
- 6:50Speaker 3: and on the big picture, you're still winning, still in
- 6:53Speaker 3: the first place in NFC West. Gino had a much
- 6:56Speaker 3: better game than he's had in a long time. Off
- 6:58Speaker 3: the offense is still kind of coming into his own
- 7:00Speaker 3: halfway through the season, and there's still a lot of
- 7:03Speaker 3: room to grow. So I'll feel pretty good with.
- 7:05Speaker 5: Gino jumping off that ray. The Seahawks are now entering
- 7:09Speaker 5: the second half of the season. Technically, the second half
- 7:12Speaker 5: of the season started at halftime this last game because
- 7:14Speaker 5: the dang seventeen games, but that nonetheless, we're going in
- 7:17Speaker 5: the second half of the season.
- 7:19Speaker 4: Where do you think the team is at.
- 7:20Speaker 5: Right now and are they ahead of your expectations going
- 7:24Speaker 5: into the season.
- 7:26Speaker 3: You know what, I think they're kind of right where
- 7:28Speaker 3: I expected them to be. Then they've they've lost some
- 7:31Speaker 3: games that I thought they would win, and then they've
- 7:32Speaker 3: won some games I thought they would that they would lose.
- 7:35Speaker 3: But this record that they have, it's pretty much kind
- 7:38Speaker 3: of where I saw them at this point. And then
- 7:40Speaker 3: for me, it's just a matter of how are they
- 7:45Speaker 3: going to put their foot on the gas on offense
- 7:48Speaker 3: moving forward? Because you have all the pieces to be
- 7:50Speaker 3: an explosive offense. It'd be nice. It's great to win
- 7:53Speaker 3: the games in the fourth quarter and the last drive
- 7:55Speaker 3: and all that kind of stuff, but man, it's kind
- 7:57Speaker 3: of good to have the win pretty secured in like
- 7:59Speaker 3: halftime too, you know what I'm saying. So like it'd
- 8:01Speaker 3: be good to see like that type of explosive offense
- 8:04Speaker 3: with the type of shutdown defense that that that they're
- 8:07Speaker 3: capable of playing, so that it'd be good to see
- 8:09Speaker 3: that piece of it too. So but I think they're
- 8:12Speaker 3: in a good place. I don't know if they were
- 8:13Speaker 3: even expected to being, you know, todd for in first
- 8:15Speaker 3: place at NFC West, the way the forty nine ers
- 8:17Speaker 3: came out. Uh, but that's what we are. That's what
- 8:20Speaker 3: we are, and that's where you know. I think it's
- 8:22Speaker 3: Mike Holman, you said you are who your record says
- 8:24Speaker 3: you are. And so they're in first place at NFC West.
- 8:27Speaker 3: They're probably somewhere in the top tier of teams in NFL. Uh.
- 8:30Speaker 3: Do you know who's doing this thing? The defense is
- 8:32Speaker 3: doing their thing. Let's keep it rolling.
- 8:34Speaker 4: That's what I like to hear.
- 8:35Speaker 3: Ray.
- 8:36Speaker 5: You are what your record is, and that's a first
- 8:37Speaker 5: place team in the NFCUS.
- 8:39Speaker 4: Appreciate job, Ron, Ray. We'll talk to you later this week.
- 8:43Speaker 3: You guys have a good one.
- 8:44Speaker 5: All right, all right, thanks Ray for joining us. Let's
- 8:47Speaker 5: get back into this game. What it happened, See.
- 8:49Speaker 8: What happened at first, ed was what had happened was
- 8:54Speaker 8: unhoarked talk, never dull moment, bump, never do a moment
- 9:00Speaker 8: with the Seahawks, Sunday was one hell of a football
- 9:03Speaker 8: game in Loomenfield, and you know, things didn't really start,
- 9:06Speaker 8: of course, you know the way the Seahawks wanted.
- 9:07Speaker 4: On that opening drive.
- 9:08Speaker 5: Seahawks bring pressure with Jamal Adams, who looked like he
- 9:11Speaker 5: was gonna have a clear sack. Sam Howell steps up
- 9:14Speaker 5: just enough in the pocket, finds Brian Robinson Junior up
- 9:17Speaker 5: the sideline for a fifty one yard touchdown that made
- 9:19Speaker 5: the score seven to zero. And it's a tough play.
- 9:22Speaker 5: That's a play that you'd hope you'd make. Jamal said
- 9:24Speaker 5: it postgame, he wish you would have had that sack.
- 9:26Speaker 5: Boy kind of gets his eyes in the backfield. Once
- 9:28Speaker 5: it looks like how is gonna rush, he drops coverage.
- 9:31Speaker 5: Seahawks are down seven to nothing, but the Hawks would
- 9:33Speaker 5: answer in the next drive with a nine play forty
- 9:35Speaker 5: nine yard drive ending with a Jason Myers field goal.
- 9:39Speaker 5: The next two drives, both teams would punt, and then
- 9:41Speaker 5: both teams would kick some more field goals that made
- 9:44Speaker 5: the score nine to six.
- 9:47Speaker 7: Alright, and then you know After three more punts, the
- 9:50Speaker 7: Hawks would tie the score at nine. The goal ten
- 9:52Speaker 7: plays fifty four yard drive and Myers doing his thing,
- 9:56Speaker 7: saw a lot of him this game. Now, the Seahawks
- 9:58Speaker 7: had a fourth and one from the Commanders ten yard line,
- 10:01Speaker 7: but a false start pushed them back, so I had
- 10:03Speaker 7: to put it on the foot. And then right before
- 10:05Speaker 7: halftime the Shocks fumbl a way a good opportunity to
- 10:07Speaker 7: kick another field goal. Gina was called for intentional grounding
- 10:10Speaker 7: that led to a ten second runof they got a
- 10:12Speaker 7: run in the tunnels.
- 10:13Speaker 6: We'll try this again.
- 10:14Speaker 7: The Commanders will kick a field goal on their opening
- 10:15Speaker 7: possession of the third quarter, and the Seahawks will respond
- 10:18Speaker 7: in a big way to go two plays seventy five
- 10:21Speaker 7: yards and with a sixty four yard pass to Ken
- 10:24Speaker 7: Walker out the flap that made the score sixteen to twelve.
- 10:28Speaker 6: But then it got real interesting in showby.
- 10:32Speaker 4: Yeah, never a doubt, right.
- 10:33Speaker 5: The Hawks would extend their lead again after eleven play
- 10:36Speaker 5: fifty five yard drive, ending will yet another Jason myersfield
- 10:39Speaker 5: goal that made the score nineteen to twelve. Then Sam
- 10:42Speaker 5: Howell and the Commanders kind of get hot a little bit,
- 10:45Speaker 5: going eight plays seventy three yards, ending with a nineteen
- 10:48Speaker 5: yard touchdown to Antonio Gibson that tied the score at nineteen.
- 10:52Speaker 5: Then our guy Gino, like I said, he's been taking
- 10:54Speaker 5: a lot of heat this year. But then Gino does
- 10:56Speaker 5: what Gino does, takes the Hawks on a ten play
- 10:59Speaker 5: seventy five yards, ending with a nice touchdown to Tyler
- 11:02Speaker 5: Lockett in the corner of the end zone.
- 11:04Speaker 4: We'll talk about that in the film room.
- 11:06Speaker 5: That made the score twenty six to nineteen with three
- 11:08Speaker 5: forty seven left in the game. Bomb that kind of
- 11:11Speaker 5: felt like that was the game winning drive.
- 11:14Speaker 6: Yeah, it did feel like.
- 11:15Speaker 7: And then Sam Howell goes, now, actually, I'm second in
- 11:17Speaker 7: the league when it comes to passing yards.
- 11:20Speaker 6: Let's go ahead and do this thing, all right.
- 11:21Speaker 7: They go seventy one yard drive and he put a
- 11:24Speaker 7: thirty five yard touchdown of Brown on third and ten,
- 11:26Speaker 7: going across the middle their defenders there. Brown goes up
- 11:30Speaker 7: and grabs it and then he runs that thing game
- 11:32Speaker 7: that ties it at twenty six, and Gino would get
- 11:34Speaker 7: the ball back, connects with DK metcalf on two receptions,
- 11:38Speaker 7: lines it up for Myers.
- 11:40Speaker 6: To do what he does.
- 11:41Speaker 7: His fifth field of the game, right down the middle
- 11:45Speaker 7: twenty nine, twenty six. The only thing that's scared means
- 11:47Speaker 7: that he was kicking towards the north end zone. We've
- 11:50Speaker 7: seen some weird things happen over there. I was crossing
- 11:52Speaker 7: my fingers and I come on, let's get it down, man.
- 11:55Speaker 7: But the hockzy the thing. Four hundred and eighty nine
- 11:57Speaker 7: yards of total offense compared to the three fifty six.
- 12:01Speaker 4: Yeah, great day, great win.
- 12:03Speaker 5: Seahawks ran for one hundred and twenty yards, the Commander's
- 12:05Speaker 5: just sixty eight. The Hawks at twenty seven first downs,
- 12:08Speaker 5: the Commander sixteen. Pete Carroll tied Mike Shanahan and Jeff
- 12:12Speaker 5: Fisher for thirteenth place on the NFL's all time winningest
- 12:15Speaker 5: coach list at one seventy eight.
- 12:17Speaker 4: So again, man, it's the NFL. Wins are wins.
- 12:21Speaker 5: Do not apologize for wins six and three, first place
- 12:24Speaker 5: in the division.
- 12:24Speaker 4: Are there things the Seahawks and clean up?
- 12:26Speaker 5: Yes, obviously, But again, another hard fought victory against a
- 12:29Speaker 5: good team that you know, a lot of people don't realize.
- 12:32Speaker 5: The Commanders almost beat Philly twice. They're they're a good
- 12:35Speaker 5: football team. So that's a good win at home Seahawks
- 12:37Speaker 5: improved four and one at home. But let's flip it
- 12:40Speaker 5: over and figure out who made some plays.
- 12:43Speaker 1: Touch playmakers, sot down what.
- 12:49Speaker 7: Time it is, right, alright, these playmakers be starting with
- 12:52Speaker 7: QB one Geno Smith thirty one to forty seven, three
- 12:55Speaker 7: sixty nine and two touchdowns. He had his third game
- 12:58Speaker 7: winning drive of the season. That's his thirteenth game winning
- 13:01Speaker 7: drive in the fourth quarter or overtime in just sixty starts.
- 13:05Speaker 7: And then he moved into sixth place on the Seahawks
- 13:06Speaker 7: all time completion list with six hundred and sixty three,
- 13:10Speaker 7: passing John kiitting it. That don't even sound right. Sixth
- 13:13Speaker 7: place already. My man has been a starter for what
- 13:16Speaker 7: a season and a half man.
- 13:18Speaker 6: Good for Gino. He's making moves.
- 13:19Speaker 5: Yeah, Gene, I mean, look at it, you just said it.
- 13:21Speaker 5: Three sixty nine, two touts. I mean he he played
- 13:26Speaker 5: how you expect a starting quarterback in this league to play,
- 13:29Speaker 5: who you have comference in, comes down and wins the
- 13:31Speaker 5: game in the clutch. That's what those guys get paid
- 13:33Speaker 5: to do, and that's exactly what Gino did. So love
- 13:35Speaker 5: to see what Gino's doing there. Despite the narrative that
- 13:38Speaker 5: he might not have played as well according to Bump
- 13:40Speaker 5: and I you great out really high in our grade,
- 13:42Speaker 5: Chi Gino, so we got you. Man ken Walker, another
- 13:46Speaker 5: guy made some plays. He had one hundred and twenty
- 13:48Speaker 5: seven total yards that sixty four yard receiving touchdown. Also
- 13:51Speaker 5: had nineteen carries for sixty three yards. And good to
- 13:54Speaker 5: see ken Walker hit a home run. Man, we saw
- 13:56Speaker 5: that a lot last year. He's someone anytime he gets
- 13:59Speaker 5: a ball in his hands, you know know what could happen.
- 14:00Speaker 5: So it's good to see him hit one, make a
- 14:02Speaker 5: cut and then beat use his speed up the sideline
- 14:04Speaker 5: getting the end zone.
- 14:06Speaker 7: Yeah, man ken Walker was in his bag and that
- 14:09Speaker 7: that long receiving touch in was needed needed to play
- 14:12Speaker 7: to happen, Geno, be impatient, look for the check down,
- 14:15Speaker 7: guy ken walk of the rock.
- 14:17Speaker 6: And then DK metcalf.
- 14:18Speaker 7: You needed to see this guy have a big moment,
- 14:20Speaker 7: probably his biggest moment this year. He's made some big plays,
- 14:23Speaker 7: but this game, towards the end of the game, biggest moments.
- 14:26Speaker 3: Man.
- 14:26Speaker 7: He had seven receptions for ninety eight yards in two
- 14:29Speaker 7: really big receptions at the end of the game. And
- 14:32Speaker 7: then his buddy Tyler Lockett, mister consistent eight receptions ninety
- 14:36Speaker 7: two yards in a clutch touchdown, which we'll break down
- 14:39Speaker 7: here later.
- 14:41Speaker 5: Yeah, we've been waiting for those two to have big
- 14:43Speaker 5: games in the same game because that's something we saw
- 14:45Speaker 5: a lot last year, something quite frankly, we've seen a
- 14:47Speaker 5: lot throughout their career. So good to see both those
- 14:50Speaker 5: guys have big games help this team win. Then the
- 14:53Speaker 5: second year guy Boy Mafe crushing him five tackles for solo,
- 14:57Speaker 5: one pass defended, one QB hit on one sack, and
- 15:01Speaker 5: with that sack, he passed Michael Sinclair for the franchise
- 15:04Speaker 5: record with a sack in seven consecutive games. We are
- 15:07Speaker 5: seeing boy In Mafe graduate to a different type of
- 15:11Speaker 5: player in front of our eyes. And he's playing at
- 15:14Speaker 5: a Pro Bowl slash, you know, all pro caliber level,
- 15:17Speaker 5: and at this rate, I mean, obviously, if you're going
- 15:19Speaker 5: to sack every game, he's going to end the season
- 15:21Speaker 5: with almost twenty so level rear seeing from boy In Mafe.
- 15:25Speaker 7: Easy boy, it just you know, a sack a game,
- 15:27Speaker 7: that's all we asked. Devin Witherspoon had himself at game
- 15:31Speaker 7: five tackles, four solo, three passes defended.
- 15:34Speaker 6: He now has twelve on the season.
- 15:36Speaker 7: His three passes defendive tied a career high that he
- 15:39Speaker 7: had versus the Cincinnati Bengals. The intensity he plays within
- 15:43Speaker 7: the instincts is crazy, Like you only had, I say,
- 15:45Speaker 7: only three passes defend He had three passes defendive. But
- 15:48Speaker 7: the way he breaks on the football, the way he
- 15:50Speaker 7: diagnoses runs and all that stuff. He's just a ballplayer.
- 15:53Speaker 7: And it's evident when you watch this dude play. Yeah,
- 15:56Speaker 7: his instincts are real. His twitch, his explosive. When he
- 16:00Speaker 7: decides he's going somewhere, it's right now. There's no hesitation.
- 16:03Speaker 7: I never seen him hesitate. He's playing really good football.
- 16:06Speaker 5: And the energy he just brings to the defense is
- 16:08Speaker 5: kind of the same thing you see out of Jamal Adams,
- 16:10Speaker 5: that that fiery nest every time he makes a play.
- 16:13Speaker 5: Lets you know about it. So love to see that
- 16:15Speaker 5: from Devin. Then, of course the og himself, Bobby Wagner
- 16:18Speaker 5: doing what he does. Ten tackles, six solo, half a sack,
- 16:22Speaker 5: two passes defended, one QB hit. Just mister consistency man.
- 16:26Speaker 5: He is the rock in this defense. He's I think
- 16:29Speaker 5: a big reason why they've played better this season. So
- 16:31Speaker 5: good to see Bobby doing his staying bump. We talked
- 16:34Speaker 5: about a little bit, though. Let's get back to those
- 16:36Speaker 5: wide receivers, all right.
- 16:37Speaker 7: Man, We got hey, we got some receptions this week.
- 16:41Speaker 7: He got Dcat twelve targets, seven recepsion for ninety eight.
- 16:44Speaker 7: You got Tyle Locke and we talked about him. He
- 16:46Speaker 7: had ten targets for ninety two yards and eight receptions.
- 16:49Speaker 7: Kind of walk, real big reception. The longest touchdown of
- 16:51Speaker 7: the year, I want to say for the Seahawks, sixty
- 16:53Speaker 7: four yards and jig but got the party going. I
- 16:56Speaker 7: had a catch on a third down, A nice twenty
- 16:58Speaker 7: yard game. He ends a game with foor receptions for
- 17:00Speaker 7: fifty three. Uncle Will Dissy had the biggest game on
- 17:03Speaker 7: the screen I've seen in like four years. I feel
- 17:06Speaker 7: like Uncle Will Dissy with the tight end screen. He
- 17:08Speaker 7: hands up with two for twenty two. Charbonne had four
- 17:11Speaker 7: for eighteen, Bubble had three or excuse me two for thirteen,
- 17:14Speaker 7: Noah had two for six, and Kobe Parkson had one
- 17:17Speaker 7: for three thirty one receptions.
- 17:20Speaker 6: I love to see you.
- 17:21Speaker 4: That's a good day, man.
- 17:22Speaker 2: You.
- 17:23Speaker 4: I think it's thirty one interceptions.
- 17:24Speaker 5: I think the Seahawks ran the ball about twenty six times,
- 17:26Speaker 5: So that's what you want. That's called balance. That's gonna
- 17:29Speaker 5: win you a lot of football games. Well, we alluded
- 17:32Speaker 5: to it earlier in the podcast. One of the biggest
- 17:34Speaker 5: plays from Sunday Gino Smith finding Tyler Lockett for a
- 17:38Speaker 5: five yard touchdown.
- 17:40Speaker 6: Slot to the near side. Gino's gonna roll to the
- 17:42Speaker 6: right side to throw in the edge of the end zone.
- 17:45Speaker 2: He makes the catch. He's got a touchdown Seahawks. And
- 17:50Speaker 2: guess who number sixteen, who keeps his toenails in the
- 17:55Speaker 2: front edge of the end zone, makes the catch with
- 17:58Speaker 2: a defensive guy drape all over from five yards out.
- 18:02Speaker 2: It's Tyler Lockett. Gino with a perfect pass right on
- 18:06Speaker 2: the button. And we're three forty five to play in
- 18:08Speaker 2: the game. The Hawks retake the lead twenty five to nineteen.
- 18:14Speaker 7: Yeah, second in goal, man, you are on the six
- 18:16Speaker 7: yard line one of the few times at the commander's lineup,
- 18:19Speaker 7: and man too, I think when you're down here, you're
- 18:21Speaker 7: probably gonna get him in most of the time like
- 18:23Speaker 7: your safety roam. But you got a I believe that's
- 18:26Speaker 7: no offense in Tyler Lockett to the right side of Gino.
- 18:29Speaker 7: You also have Ken Walker in the backfield, with Gino
- 18:31Speaker 7: on the backside, you have JSN and DK metcalf. It's
- 18:35Speaker 7: a sprint right, So all Lockett is gonna do is
- 18:38Speaker 7: he gonna sell the fade and then break down to
- 18:40Speaker 7: the pieline and Gino just puts the football right where
- 18:44Speaker 7: only he can get him. Rabel said Toenails, is more
- 18:47Speaker 7: about that kneecap. That kneecap hits the ground allows him
- 18:50Speaker 7: to stay in. But this is just chemistry and ball placement.
- 18:53Speaker 7: I know that that's a good catch by Tyler Lockett,
- 18:56Speaker 7: but the throw man, it's only where Tyler Lockett can
- 18:59Speaker 7: get it. There are no other options too. You got
- 19:01Speaker 7: Noah Fan who was pretty much locked up on the backside.
- 19:04Speaker 7: You got Jason trying to get to the other side
- 19:06Speaker 7: of the field. And then DK says, I'm not involved
- 19:09Speaker 7: in this play. I'm just gonna stand here and watch.
- 19:11Speaker 7: By design, he's not being lazy. I'm not calling him lazy.
- 19:14Speaker 7: It's by design. But no, just a little sprint out,
- 19:16Speaker 7: get to the pylon, make a throw. I just love
- 19:20Speaker 7: sixteens body control man. He might have the best body
- 19:24Speaker 7: control in the National Football League.
- 19:25Speaker 5: When you watch him anytime, whether even when it was
- 19:28Speaker 5: the ball he caught out of bounds. Every time he's
- 19:30Speaker 5: catching the football, you just watch, especially when when he's
- 19:33Speaker 5: on the edges on the corners. He has the best
- 19:35Speaker 5: body control I think in the league. And like you said,
- 19:37Speaker 5: Gino Smith, only where his guy can catch it. That's
- 19:40Speaker 5: winning football when you needed it, when you had to
- 19:43Speaker 5: have it. That also included a fourth down conversion. So
- 19:46Speaker 5: good for the Seahawks. I love it. That's exactly what
- 19:49Speaker 5: you want to see. Tyler Lockett, mister consistency. Hopefully maybe
- 19:53Speaker 5: he'll eventually get the credit he is due because of
- 19:56Speaker 5: his consistency and his excellence in Seattle.
- 19:58Speaker 4: But you know it's time. It is Seahawks win. So
- 20:01Speaker 4: it is our.
- 20:02Speaker 5: Favorite formation, victory formation.
- 20:04Speaker 2: Here comes the Seahawks offense onto the field and the
- 20:07Speaker 2: Vikings defense crutching out there knowing that one meal down
- 20:13Speaker 2: and the Seahawks are gonna wind the clock down and
- 20:15Speaker 2: win this one.
- 20:16Speaker 1: It's the victory formation on Hawk Talk.
- 20:19Speaker 5: Hawks bouncing back in a big way, getting that much
- 20:22Speaker 5: needed to win at home, improving a four to one
- 20:24Speaker 5: at Loomenfield on the season, which is really important because
- 20:27Speaker 5: the Seahawks If they're gonna win the division, they gotta
- 20:29Speaker 5: win games at home, and they did that taking care
- 20:31Speaker 5: of business and this game is all about Geno Smith
- 20:34Speaker 5: kind of been the theme of today for US. Passed with
- 20:36Speaker 5: three hundred and sixty nine yards, two touchdowns in the
- 20:39Speaker 5: second half, most importantly, zero turnovers. This was the third
- 20:43Speaker 5: game winning drive from him this season, so he is clutch.
- 20:46Speaker 5: He is getting it done. Is every single play gonna
- 20:49Speaker 5: be perfect? No, But when I walked away, and maybe
- 20:52Speaker 5: I guess I'm crazy, when I walked away from that
- 20:54Speaker 5: football game, I thought number seven played a hell of
- 20:56Speaker 5: a football game and just really well needed for him
- 21:00Speaker 5: and for this offense to kind of get back. They
- 21:02Speaker 5: still some things improve on, but Gino Smith was great yesterday. Yeah,
- 21:06Speaker 5: Ginna was balling.
- 21:06Speaker 3: Man.
- 21:07Speaker 7: No turnovers is huge for my man, Tyler Lockett in
- 21:10Speaker 7: DK Man, they did their thing as well, and they
- 21:13Speaker 7: were clutched down the stretch. Defense played well until the
- 21:16Speaker 7: fourth and they gave up a couple of touchdowns, but
- 21:18Speaker 7: it's all right. That's why you got the offensive team game.
- 21:21Speaker 7: And then boy him off and we mentioned man, he
- 21:23Speaker 7: makes history, breaking Michael Sinclair's record for consecutive games with
- 21:27Speaker 7: a sack. It is now seven less goal for eight.
- 21:30Speaker 7: Get this man to the Pro Bowl?
- 21:32Speaker 5: Oh yeah, boy is my guy? Seahawks hit the road
- 21:35Speaker 5: this week to take on the three and six Rams.
- 21:38Speaker 5: Hopefully the seahawkstin get a little revenge after that Week
- 21:41Speaker 5: one loss. Pete Carroll's not using those terms, so me
- 21:43Speaker 5: and bump can use them. They're gonna get back after
- 21:45Speaker 5: him in LA last game before they got on into
- 21:47Speaker 5: the forty nine Ers, Cowboys, forty nine Ers and Eagles.
- 21:50Speaker 5: So Seahawks need to take care of business going one
- 21:52Speaker 5: to zero. Michael Bumbaside, were back with you on Wednesday
- 21:55Speaker 5: breaking down those Rams.
- 21:57Speaker 4: A lot of things happening over there. Will Stafford be back?
- 21:59Speaker 4: Who knows? Now?
- 22:00Speaker 5: You've got Carson Wentz being signed. What's going on over there?
- 22:03Speaker 5: We'll figure it out. We'll get you all clued in. Reminder,
