- 0:01Speaker 1: For all you mad bastards loving the Big Show podcast,
- 0:05Speaker 1: get up even closer on Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok. Or
- 0:10Speaker 1: raw doggies. Four to seven every weekday. On Radio Hood Accused. Oh,
- 0:15Speaker 1: g'day fellas. Now listen, let's get straight to it. Oh,
- 0:22Speaker 1: Keezy was in a massive food coma.
- 0:25Speaker 2: He's a bit tired today.
- 0:27Speaker 1: He's so droopy-eyed.
- 0:29Speaker 2: He's had a shug. He's, oh, I'm tired today. I
- 0:31Speaker 2: don't know why. I do.
- 0:32Speaker 1: Yeah, same.
- 0:33Speaker 3: Yeah, we just went to Reburger and may have overordered.
- 0:38Speaker 2: Yeah, you did. It was free, and so you're a
- 0:40Speaker 2: pig about it.
- 0:42Speaker 3: 100%.
- 0:42Speaker 1: It's the thing that people– it's like a buffet. And
- 0:46Speaker 1: people always just load up. And it's like, you're not
- 0:51Speaker 1: going to eat all that. He got a massive burger,
- 0:56Speaker 1: loaded fries, and two tenders.
- 0:59Speaker 2: And finished it off with a sundae.
- 1:00Speaker 1: And had a sundae at the end of it.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Mad bastard.
- 1:04Speaker 3: The part that you added there, which you do at
- 1:06Speaker 3: every yarn, was the loaded fries. I didn't have loaded fries.
- 1:09Speaker 3: But the burger, that guy intentionally made our burgers bigger
- 1:11Speaker 3: than normal.
- 1:12Speaker 2: Did you get an easy 2.0? What did you get?
- 1:16Speaker 4: Because it was a chicken number and it was double-breasted,
- 1:19Speaker 4: wasn't it? No, it was a chicken one with pineapple
- 1:20Speaker 4: on it. But didn't it have a two-breasted? It felt
- 1:24Speaker 4: like I had about fucking five of them on there.
- 1:26Speaker 5: I have no idea.
- 1:27Speaker 2: I thought I had two. Oh, yeah, maybe I had two.
- 1:29Speaker 2: I'm not sure. What's this bastard here? Here we go,
- 1:32Speaker 2: Mogi's going to be like Keezy. Yeah, I do. I
- 1:34Speaker 2: just want to know.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Can I just tell you what I had while you're
- 1:37Speaker 1: finding that, Mogi?
- 1:38Speaker 2: Here we go. Two chips and a glass of water.
- 1:40Speaker 1: And a little cheeseburger.
- 1:42Speaker 5: You did have a little cheeseburger.
- 1:43Speaker 2: It was very cute. A little chicken burger. Nine bucks.
- 1:46Speaker 1: Nine bucks. Yeah, man, but even your chicken burger, your
- 1:49Speaker 1: little chicken burger was huge. Yeah. You know, I look
- 1:52Speaker 1: at your burger and go, that's huge.
- 1:54Speaker 2: He's always looking at my burger.
- 1:56Speaker 1: I always order off the kiddies. You know how they
- 2:00Speaker 1: have kiddies orders? Yeah, yeah. You know, every little restaurant
- 2:04Speaker 1: like that?
- 2:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:05Speaker 1: So I just go for the kiddie ones.
- 2:07Speaker 5: Do you do it in your high-pitched voice?
- 2:09Speaker 2: Please, sir.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Can I have some more?
- 2:11Speaker 2: Can I have a cheeseburger? Or did you have a
- 2:14Speaker 2: Hawaii Five-0?
- 2:15Speaker 5: Maybe it was that.
- 2:16Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah. It was a classic Keezy.
- 2:19Speaker 2: What the?
- 2:20Speaker 1: It was like free food and therefore I am going hard.
- 2:26Speaker 3: I guarantee you, people listening to this right now, you
- 2:30Speaker 3: go to Reburger, the company's paying, this company, not Reburger,
- 2:34Speaker 3: Pugs has a credit card, and they go, order what
- 2:36Speaker 3: you want. I got a chicken burger and a couple
- 2:38Speaker 3: of tenders. That's what I got, and a Coke. But people,
- 2:42Speaker 3: when you're getting free food, you fucking hoe in, Jase, man.
- 2:45Speaker 1: Well, I don't.
- 2:45Speaker 2: I don't either. Shocking. But you guys aren't into food.
- 2:49Speaker 3: My food is your guys' durries.
- 2:53Speaker 2: That's true.
- 2:54Speaker 5: You know what I mean?
- 2:54Speaker 2: I can't wait to see you in five years. He's
- 2:56Speaker 2: going to be massive.
- 2:57Speaker 1: Isn't he? I was going to say the same thing.
- 3:01Speaker 5: You bet your ass I am. It's going to be
- 3:03Speaker 5: just fucking dumplings.
- 3:05Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 3:06Speaker 1: You're going to come into work with like mayo on
- 3:09Speaker 1: your sagging mo.
- 3:10Speaker 2: You know what's funny, Jase, is you've got sauce on
- 3:13Speaker 2: your shit.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Where?
- 3:14Speaker 2: On the logo.
- 3:16Speaker 1: Oh, no, that's not sauce, Keezy.
- 3:17Speaker 2: Oh, isn't it? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 3:19Speaker 1: It may look like aioli.
- 3:21Speaker 3: He's literally making a joke about me having mayo on me,
- 3:23Speaker 3: and he's got mayo on his shirt.
- 3:25Speaker 1: It's not mayo, man.
- 3:28Speaker 5: Is it jizz?
- 3:30Speaker 1: It's none of your business, Keezy.
- 3:32Speaker 2: So you jizzed on a Reburger shirt, then put it on,
- 3:35Speaker 2: then came to work.
- 3:37Speaker 5: That's a new low, even for you, man.
- 3:39Speaker 2: What did you find out? I think it's a mung rag,
- 3:42Speaker 2: isn't it? About 1,100 calories there, Keezy. Man of your size,
- 3:47Speaker 2: I'd say your daily maintenance would be about 2,500 to
- 3:50Speaker 2: 2,700 calories. Fucking sweet. As you're walking around, wait. So
- 3:54Speaker 2: with your tenders and your drink, be looking at about 1,700,
- 3:57Speaker 2: 1,800 calories in the one meal.
- 4:00Speaker 3: Now, how about this? Try this on for size, all right?
- 4:03Speaker 5: Get a load of this. Fucking suck on this. All right,
- 4:04Speaker 5: here you go.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Can I just paint a picture?
- 4:06Speaker 5: Hang on, hang on. I haven't had breakfast today.
- 4:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:09Speaker 5: And I rang my wife on the way home and said,
- 4:11Speaker 5: I don't think I'll need dinner.
- 4:13Speaker 2: There you go. It doesn't matter how you get your calories, Keezy.
- 4:15Speaker 2: It's just excess or deficit.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Well.
- 4:18Speaker 3: So I'm actually, by doing what I just did, I'm
- 4:21Speaker 3: fucking losing weight.
- 4:22Speaker 2: Except you've got no energy. What are you talking about?
- 4:24Speaker 2: Your body is just like shattered down. Keezy's done it again.
- 4:27Speaker 1: That's not the story your T-shirt is telling.
- 4:30Speaker 5: My lower 90% of my body is off.
- 4:32Speaker 1: What?
- 4:32Speaker 2: Come on, Jase. Talk about my T-shirt.
- 4:34Speaker 1: It's very cool, man. What is it, like a douche
- 4:36Speaker 1: douche one? A gaming kind of?
- 4:38Speaker 5: Just the drag racing one I've won.
- 4:39Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, drag racing.
- 4:40Speaker 5: Once a week for the last five fucking years.
- 4:42Speaker 1: This is the thing. This is the thing I was
- 4:51Speaker 1: talking about.
- 4:51Speaker 2: Oh, Keezy's tired.
- 4:53Speaker 3: Let's start being dicks about it.
- 4:56Speaker 1: The Horaki Big Show, weekdays from 4 on Radio Horaki.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Now that's good listening. And it's live.
- 5:05Speaker 2: What are you listening to there?
- 5:08Speaker 1: Oh, me? Oh, sorry.
- 5:10Speaker 2: I was listening to the Radio Hauraki Big Show.
- 5:14Speaker 1: Right. Four to seven weekdays.
- 5:17Speaker 2: Yeah, that's quite specific. And I heart radio.
- 5:21Speaker 1: What? Cheers.
- 5:24Speaker 5: The Hauraki Big Show podcast.
- 5:26Speaker 2: You know, the other thing that could be tiring you
- 5:28Speaker 2: out is you having to carry around those two new
- 5:30Speaker 2: clompers on your face.
- 5:31Speaker 5: Oh, my new Doc Martens. Fucking hell, they are not comfortable.
- 5:34Speaker 1: My wife did that the other day, got some new boots,
- 5:37Speaker 1: which she was looking for for ages.
- 5:39Speaker 5: Was she new boot goofing?
- 5:41Speaker 1: And she was, you know, doing her normal walk around town.
- 5:43Speaker 1: She was like, oh, fuck, these aren't very comfortable.
- 5:46Speaker 2: No.
- 5:46Speaker 1: And I said, just break them in, darling. And she
- 5:49Speaker 1: persevered for a couple of days and then went, no,
- 5:51Speaker 1: this isn't happening.
- 5:53Speaker 2: Not it.
- 5:53Speaker 1: It's not happening. Nah.
- 5:55Speaker 3: So Beck Sandys out there was like, you've got to
- 5:57Speaker 3: put Ziploc bags of water inside your Doc Martens and
- 6:00Speaker 3: then put them in the freezer and the water freezes
- 6:02Speaker 3: and expands and it stretches your Doc Martens. And then
- 6:05Speaker 3: she said, and to stop blisters, put a Libra pad
- 6:08Speaker 3: down the back of your heel there.
- 6:09Speaker 2: Yeah, sanitary pad.
- 6:11Speaker 1: What about if you've got blisters on your toes?
- 6:14Speaker 5: Put your foot in a Connie.
- 6:20Speaker 2: So it's pretty cool, isn't it, that you've got boots
- 6:23Speaker 2: that you have to do that for? It's annoying. Jandals
- 6:25Speaker 2: used to be like that.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:26Speaker 2: Heavy owners have solved that problem.
- 6:28Speaker 1: My boots here that I got, my– Bloodstones.
- 6:31Speaker 2: Your bloodstones.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Like a glove. Yeah. From the moment I put them on.
- 6:36Speaker 5: That's what their whole thing is, though.
- 6:38Speaker 1: It was like they were made for a hoity-jay.
- 6:41Speaker 2: Little stinkers.
- 6:43Speaker 5: Yeah, you got little stinkers on.
- 6:44Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Where is my dress boots?
- 6:49Speaker 2: Oh, your whiteys.
- 6:50Speaker 1: My whiteys.
- 6:51Speaker 2: Your dress boots. My dress boots.
- 6:52Speaker 5: When you're wearing a dress, yeah.
- 6:55Speaker 2: What are those things called? White walkers.
- 6:57Speaker 1: They're a bit pinchy.
- 6:58Speaker 5: You love Game of Thrones, eh?
- 7:00Speaker 2: I do. I'm all about it. Pinchy. They're a bit pinchy,
- 7:03Speaker 2: are they? Yes. Is that why you stopped wearing them.
- 7:05Speaker 1: A month ago? I still wear them around the place.
- 7:08Speaker 2: No, you don't. Can you please wear them at Come
- 7:10Speaker 2: Dine with me on Sunday? Can you please? Just for
- 7:15Speaker 2: shits and gigs.
- 7:16Speaker 5: Do you want a 10 from my wife?
- 7:17Speaker 1: Yeah, sure, man.
- 7:18Speaker 2: Keezy will wear his clompers.
- 7:20Speaker 5: I'll wear my clompers.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Well, no, wait.
- 7:22Speaker 5: My wife will give you a 10.
- 7:23Speaker 1: I will make one request, clothing-wise.
- 7:28Speaker 3: No.
- 7:29Speaker 1: If you could have softer-soled shoes rather than heavy clompers.
- 7:35Speaker 5: Is that for the neighbours?
- 7:35Speaker 1: Yeah, downstairs. Because if there's eight of us clomping around for...
- 7:40Speaker 1: Six hours.
- 7:41Speaker 2: It's unreal, isn't it?
- 7:43Speaker 5: I'm going to be stamping my feet watching the wires.
- 7:44Speaker 2: Well, what I'll be doing is taking my shoes off
- 7:47Speaker 2: when I come in.
- 7:48Speaker 1: That's not the only thing you'll be taking off, trust me.
- 7:51Speaker 2: Okay.
- 7:51Speaker 5: Are you taking... Your pants are.
- 7:54Speaker 2: Monday off. Oh, Monday off. Really? Yeah. Might be taking
- 7:56Speaker 2: Monday off because we're going to get so steamed.
- 7:58Speaker 1: Yeah, nice.
- 7:59Speaker 2: Yeah, good stuff.
- 8:00Speaker 5: I'm going to be wearing boots and I'm going to
- 8:02Speaker 5: be fully washed up.
- 8:02Speaker 2: Clomping around.
- 8:03Speaker 5: Clomping.
- 8:06Speaker 3: Pugs, the theme for Hoity J's party is clomping around.
- 8:10Speaker 2: The entertainment is you, me, and Keezy tap dancing.
- 8:14Speaker 5: River dancing.
- 8:15Speaker 2: River dancing. Oh, God.
- 8:18Speaker 5: It's going to be so funny.
- 8:20Speaker 2: Oh, it will be funny.
- 8:21Speaker 3: Should I do a review of your hot pot on
- 8:23Speaker 3: the show or on the podcast here?
- 8:26Speaker 2: Do it now. Do it now. Yeah.
- 8:28Speaker 5: Yeah, sure.
- 8:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:30Speaker 3: So I went to Horty J's hot pot last night.
- 8:32Speaker 3: My mate ended up meeting me there.
- 8:34Speaker 5: I did.
- 8:34Speaker 2: Oh, he did? I thought he abandoned me.
- 8:36Speaker 5: He was.
- 8:37Speaker 3: He was like, it's not looking good. And he was like,
- 8:38Speaker 3: I'm out, I'm out. And so I was like, I'm
- 8:40Speaker 3: already at the hot pot. So he came and met
- 8:41Speaker 3: me and had one as well. So you walk into
- 8:43Speaker 3: this joint, get a big glass bowl and some tongs.
- 8:46Speaker 3: It was like a fridge plastic. There's a fridge full
- 8:49Speaker 3: of all these different ingredients.
- 8:50Speaker 5: Really overwhelming.
- 8:51Speaker 3: So I panicked and just grabbed meatballs, quite a lot
- 8:53Speaker 3: of them, like seven of them. And then some mushrooms
- 8:57Speaker 3: and some bok choy.
- 8:58Speaker 2: What's the hygiene rate in? Yeah, good. It's a chain.
- 9:02Speaker 5: It's an international chain.
- 9:03Speaker 2: Oh, God.
- 9:05Speaker 3: No, but a fucking great one. Beef, and they went
- 9:09Speaker 3: up there, put a thing of noodles in there, went up,
- 9:10Speaker 3: and she weighed it. And what's your usual price?
- 9:12Speaker 1: My usual price is I'm usually about $ 20.
- 9:15Speaker 2: Is that right? Weighed it.
- 9:17Speaker 1: And my wife is about $ 15. So we usually pay
- 9:19Speaker 1: about $ 30, $ 35 for two.
- 9:21Speaker 3: $ 24.
- 9:21Speaker 4: $ 24?
- 9:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:21Speaker 1: Mine was $ 30. Yeah, you see, I knew he'd load up.
- 9:31Speaker 2: Isn't it disgusting?
- 9:33Speaker 1: But just to your point, though, initially.
- 9:35Speaker 2: That's how much a steak costs at a good restaurant.
- 9:39Speaker 1: Initially, it is very overwhelming. And you're like, what the fuck?
- 9:43Speaker 1: There's so much stuff here.
- 9:45Speaker 3: Yeah, and then I forgot to take a buzzer. And
- 9:47Speaker 3: then another lady took my buzzer and put it in
- 9:49Speaker 3: her jersey and forgot about it. And so there was
- 9:51Speaker 3: all this beeping going on. The lady didn't know what
- 9:53Speaker 3: was mine. And the lady, she's like, where's that beeping
- 9:55Speaker 3: coming from? And I was like, I'm so sorry. and
- 9:58Speaker 3: it was fuck it was overwhelming and then my mate
- 10:00Speaker 3: showed up Guy and was just like what do I do.
- 10:04Speaker 2: And so I was like oh here's what you do
- 10:06Speaker 2: I got.
- 10:06Speaker 5: A couple of the wontons you're talking about the chicken ones.
- 10:10Speaker 1: Dumplings. Dumplings, yeah. Yeah, fuck.
- 10:12Speaker 2: Honestly.
- 10:12Speaker 1: The key, what did you go with for your soup?
- 10:16Speaker 5: The house spicy medium.
- 10:18Speaker 1: Yeah, nice.
- 10:18Speaker 3: The house spicy medium, and it is the nicest thing
- 10:22Speaker 3: I've eaten, one of the nicest things I've eaten this year.
- 10:24Speaker 2: Yeah. Wow. Fuck, it's good. That's pretty good.
- 10:26Speaker 5: It reminded me of.
- 10:27Speaker 3: Yours, but slightly more edible, but also you knew that they-
- 10:32Speaker 3: They'd made this a lot and they'd perfected it.
- 10:33Speaker 2: This is what they do.
- 10:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:35Speaker 2: Fuck it was good.
- 10:36Speaker 1: And the addictive nature of it, Kesey, is you get
- 10:38Speaker 1: to refine your bowl. Yes. You know what I mean?
- 10:41Speaker 1: You don't get more overwhelmed again and you're going to go, okay,
- 10:44Speaker 1: I'll have a bit of this and a bit of that. 100%.
- 10:46Speaker 3: So next time I'm going to get like two meatballs,
- 10:48Speaker 3: a bit of this, and I'll get more of the
- 10:49Speaker 3: fine meats like what you had.
- 10:50Speaker 2: I'm pretty keen to get along for that.
- 10:51Speaker 3: What's the name of the meat that you bought? What's
- 10:54Speaker 3: that kind of meat called? The thinly... The thinly sliced one. Well,
- 10:57Speaker 3: it was specifically on the wrapper was for hot pot.
- 11:00Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. It was hot pot. How good?
- 11:03Speaker 3: I loaded up my bowl and then realised there was
- 11:05Speaker 3: a second fridge full of ingredients. And I was like, oh,
- 11:09Speaker 3: and it had all those nice, so next time.
- 11:10Speaker 2: I'm going to go and get those. Yeah, I think after,
- 11:13Speaker 2: maybe we've talked about it already, but I think I
- 11:15Speaker 2: would make my own souse next time, the own base,
- 11:18Speaker 2: the soup base.
- 11:19Speaker 1: Sure.
- 11:20Speaker 2: And then because when you make the base, I've got
- 11:21Speaker 2: the recipe, but then you freeze it.
- 11:23Speaker 1: Right.
- 11:24Speaker 2: And so it does, I think, either four to six
- 11:26Speaker 2: separate hot pots.
- 11:28Speaker 1: Yeah, nice.
- 11:28Speaker 2: And then you can refine it.
- 11:30Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 11:30Speaker 2: You know, like, oh, that was a bit much, you know,
- 11:33Speaker 2: and then work out what your recipe is for that soup.
- 11:36Speaker 1: I will say.
- 11:37Speaker 2: How good to start doing that and then to be
- 11:38Speaker 2: able to have a cookbook full of, Like, grandmas used
- 11:41Speaker 2: to do it.
- 11:42Speaker 3: Yes.
- 11:42Speaker 2: You had a cookbook and they had all the recipes,
- 11:44Speaker 2: stuff that they'd worked on their whole fucking lives.
- 11:46Speaker 1: Yes.
- 11:47Speaker 2: And then hand it down to you.
- 11:48Speaker 1: Yes.
- 11:48Speaker 2: How good is that?
- 11:49Speaker 1: My wife's got that very kind of book from her nana.
- 11:52Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 11:53Speaker 1: No, I'm joking.
- 11:55Speaker 3: But I will say, I think all four of us
- 11:58Speaker 3: on the show could happily go to Hoity J's hot
- 12:00Speaker 3: pot spot and all of us would leave very, very happy.
- 12:04Speaker 2: Fuck, it was good. It sounds like good food.
- 12:06Speaker 5: It was really good.
- 12:07Speaker 1: And the soup is, you know what I mean, kind
- 12:10Speaker 1: of luxury.
- 12:11Speaker 2: That's the key, isn't it?
- 12:13Speaker 5: The soup was like your one, the redness of yours,
- 12:16Speaker 5: but it had like a milky texture.
- 12:17Speaker 2: Creaminess.
- 12:18Speaker 5: Creamy texture as well. It's like your thing plus something.
- 12:21Speaker 2: Because that's the other thing as well, right? They're very regional.
- 12:25Speaker 2: So all the different regions have got their own sort.
- 12:28Speaker 1: Of fun going on And the reason my wife's One
- 12:31Speaker 1: is so light Is she generally goes Just really veggie
- 12:35Speaker 1: orientated You know What's that?
- 12:39Speaker 2: What street?
- 12:42Speaker 3: It's like right by the Civic Oh yeah You go
- 12:45Speaker 3: up towards the University from the Civic And it's literally,
- 12:48Speaker 3: there's a little corner store The corner of High Street
- 12:50Speaker 3: And there's new things, it's right next to.
- 12:53Speaker 2: Eden Highly recommend How many buzzies?
- 12:57Speaker 5: Sounds like a five.
- 12:59Speaker 1: 4.7. Yeah, it's good stuff.
- 13:01Speaker 5: And only, like, a five is a perfect meal. I
- 13:03Speaker 5: fucking loved it.
- 13:04Speaker 2: And I was like, this is... Yeah, now he gets it.
- 13:06Speaker 5: Right up my alley.
- 13:07Speaker 2: This guy gets it.
- 13:08Speaker 1: Yeah, man.
- 13:08Speaker 2: This guy gets it.
- 13:09Speaker 5: Highly recommend. Hey, listen to the big show, 4-7 weekdays,
- 13:12Speaker 5: Radio Hodaki.
- 13:14Speaker 1: Hell don't. Come on, guys.
