- 0:25Speaker 1: Hi, welcome back.
- 0:57Speaker 1: You are listening to episode 56.
- 1:00Speaker 1: I'm so excited to be here today.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Just recently I had a client who asked me have you ever wondered if God knew what you were going through?
- 1:09Speaker 1: I just looked at her with tears in my eyes and said let me tell you a story.
- 1:14Speaker 1: That week of May 10 years ago brought a mixed bag of emotions.
- 1:19Speaker 1: You see, I'd been divorced for one year and I was looking forward to attending a women's conference that week just for some encouragement.
- 1:27Speaker 1: But it turned out to be a week I wouldn't forget.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Looking back, it has to be the single moment when I knew God was intimately involved in my life.
- 1:39Speaker 1: That week started awful, painful, sad memories attached to a date I hoped would soon be just a day like any other, not a reminder of that my divorce, just as I was gaining my footing in life and had gotten off the bench and re-entered my life, my new life, I received some news concerning finances.
- 2:01Speaker 1: This challenged me to stop relying on someone I had no business relying on anymore.
- 2:07Speaker 1: God had seemed to be hammering this point out in my life.
- 2:11Speaker 1: I'd felt it coming and I had even begun, a few months before, taking steps not to be reliant anymore.
- 2:19Speaker 1: But now I had two weeks until rent was due, four months left in my lease and no way to pay it.
- 2:28Speaker 1: I didn't know what I was going to do.
- 2:32Speaker 1: As an Enneagram 6 with a high need for security, this was a devastating blow.
- 2:37Speaker 1: I felt hopeless.
- 2:38Speaker 1: I would wake up wide-eyed with my heart racing.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Fear and panic took over.
- 2:44Speaker 1: The overwhelmness of it all almost shut me down Almost.
- 2:49Speaker 1: There's just enough fight left inside of me that I couldn't give up.
- 2:54Speaker 1: Giving up isn't in me.
- 2:56Speaker 1: That Thursday night I talked to God about what was going on.
- 3:00Speaker 1: As I headed to bed, I told God I just need to know that you know what's going on down here.
- 3:08Speaker 1: I had no more answers.
- 3:11Speaker 1: I was emotionally drained and empty.
- 3:14Speaker 1: After all, we problem solve all the time.
- 3:18Speaker 1: You see, I didn't ask God to fix it, I just needed to know that he knew.
- 3:25Speaker 1: I woke up on Friday morning looking forward to the conference.
- 3:28Speaker 1: That night A friend texted asking hey, how can I pray for you today?
- 3:35Speaker 1: I responded pray that I continually hear, I know from the Lord.
- 3:42Speaker 1: Then I went to work.
- 3:44Speaker 1: I showed up for the women's conference where Bianca Oltoff was speaking.
- 3:48Speaker 1: If you know me at all very well, you know that I take notes, lots of notes, but on this night I wasn't me at all very well.
- 3:54Speaker 1: You know that I take notes, lots of notes, but on this night I wasn't writing at all.
- 3:58Speaker 1: I was stuck in my head overthinking, trying to problem solve the dilemma in front of me.
- 4:05Speaker 1: I was in shock and could not think.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Clearly, this was definitely a transition I didn't see coming with.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Maybe, maybe 15 minutes left, bianca started spelling out the word no, k-n-o-w.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Stunned, I sat forward in my seat hanging on her next words he knows.
- 4:32Speaker 1: She says you need to hear this from him.
- 4:35Speaker 1: He says I know.
- 4:39Speaker 1: Okay, one more time, just for good measure.
- 4:43Speaker 1: It was like God was yelling hey, tony, are you listening Again?
- 4:48Speaker 1: Bianca says he knows.
- 4:50Speaker 1: I'm positive.
- 4:51Speaker 1: There were more statements in between the I knows, but that's all I heard over and over, specifically for me.
- 4:59Speaker 1: Later I had the chance to share a table with Bianca and I told her my story, thanking her for delivering this personal message.
- 5:07Speaker 1: She graciously listened as big tears brimmed my eyes and she said I spelled it out for you.
- 5:16Speaker 1: Now let's fast forward a week.
- 5:18Speaker 1: There was a package left for me in the office of my apartment building.
- 5:22Speaker 1: I wasn't expecting any packages.
- 5:25Speaker 1: I hadn't ordered any Amazon and I'm a big Amazon fan, as the rest of us and it was a gift with tissue paper and everything.
- 5:34Speaker 1: I was like what is going on?
- 5:36Speaker 1: So when I got back to my apartment, I opened it up and found a note and a rock that says he knows.
- 5:45Speaker 1: The note said that my rent was paid through the end of my lease.
- 5:50Speaker 1: I was stunned.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Through the end of my lease, I was stunned, dumbfounded, at a loss for words.
- 5:57Speaker 1: I only asked him to let me know that he knew what was going on and he provided more than I could ever have imagined or hoped for.
- 6:04Speaker 1: Now I'm not sure what you need to know, but I'm certain to my core that he knows.
- 6:10Speaker 1: When you don't have the answer, he knows.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Maybe you are in limbo and a decision needs to be made.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Maybe there have been some rumors that have haunted you that need to be put to rest, or maybe you need restoration with a spouse, child or parent.
- 6:29Speaker 1: Don't ever count God out, or parent.
- 6:30Speaker 1: Don't ever count God out In the middle of your shock, when you are surviving, asking questions and wondering what is next.
- 6:46Speaker 1: I promise he knows.
- 6:47Speaker 1: Maybe I need to spell it out for you.
- 6:48Speaker 1: He K-N-O-T, o-w-s.
- 6:50Speaker 1: He knows.
- 6:52Speaker 1: He knows it all, even when you think he doesn't Just ask him to show you.
- 6:57Speaker 1: I spelled it out for you.
- 7:01Speaker 1: Listen, I've been there.
- 7:02Speaker 1: I've been afraid to ask for help, but what I've learned in 10 years of singleness is to ask.
- 7:07Speaker 1: It's not easy, but I do it anyway.
- 7:10Speaker 1: In fact, just this past week on my birthday no less I asked a friend to help me sort through some thoughts and directions I was trying to wade through.
- 7:19Speaker 1: We spent a couple of hours together and she gave some sage advice.
- 7:24Speaker 1: Now it's up to me to decide between two really good things.
- 7:30Speaker 1: You may be in a similar place.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Maybe your spouse has left you with two kids and no explanation and you have no idea what to do or what is next.
- 7:40Speaker 1: Maybe your boss called you in on Friday afternoon and said we are letting you go.
- 7:45Speaker 1: Whatever the situation is.
- 7:48Speaker 1: I promise he knows.
- 7:49Speaker 1: You'll find my contact information in the show notes.
