Speaker 2: Charleston Humane Association with this week's Adopt Me Please Pet
• 2:41
Speaker 2: of the Week. It's Angie Gillenwater. Angie, good morning, welcome
• 2:44
  Speaker 2: to the show.
• 2:45
Speaker 4: Good morning, thank you for being here. You're doing okay today.
• 2:50
Speaker 5: I am. I'm super excited to talk about Jasmine today.
• 2:53
Speaker 2: All right, as always, we've got Jasmine. This is our
• 2:56
Speaker 2: pet of the week. Jasmine's photos posted on my social media,
• 2:59
Speaker 2: It's on Davey on Radio and also posted on at
• 3:02
Speaker 2: dave a seventy on Twitter, tell us about this lovely
• 3:05
  Speaker 2: lady named Jasmine.
• 3:08
Speaker 5: Jasmine is such as a light to be around. She's the
• 3:11
Speaker 5: perfect medium sized dog. She does great in play groups
• 3:14
Speaker 5: at the shelter, but you know, would probably do best
• 3:16
Speaker 5: in a home environment with calmer pets. She does great
• 3:20
Speaker 5: with kids, and she's just a couch potatoes dream animal.
• 3:25
Speaker 2: She's a lovely dog. And she is a little bit older,
• 3:28
Speaker 2: seven years old. She is spade and vaccinated, very kid friendly.
• 3:33
Speaker 2: As you were telling me yesterday, as you said, great
• 3:35
Speaker 2: in playgroups, a dream on a leash, and I love
• 3:39
Speaker 2: that couch potatoes dream dog. It says, if you're I
• 3:42
Speaker 2: feel targeted, I feel triggered.
• 3:43
Speaker 5: And when you say that, yeah, she would much rather
• 3:48
Speaker 5: take an evening, you know, resting rather than getting out
• 3:50
Speaker 5: in this weather. I'll for sure on that.
• 3:53
Speaker 2: Well, so would I, so would I. So what do
• 3:56
Speaker 2: we know Jasmine's backstory? I mean, like, where Jasmine came from?
• 3:59
Speaker 2: Picked up as a stray?
• 4:00
Speaker 4: Do we know anything about jaz Yeah?
• 4:02
Speaker 5: So, Jasmine was actually adopted from US a couple of
• 4:06
Speaker 5: years ago, and the humane officer from South Charleston actually
• 4:09
Speaker 5: brought her back in as astray and we've reached out
• 4:12
Speaker 5: to potential microchip info and unfortunately it's just a dead
• 4:17
Speaker 5: end with changing phone numbers. So yeah, we we know
• 4:21
Speaker 5: a little bit about Jasmine and her history, but not
• 4:25
Speaker 5: sure how she ended up back as astray.
• 4:27
Speaker 2: I know sometimes people want, you know, to get the
• 4:30
Speaker 2: younger dogs or cats for that matter. They want to
• 4:32
Speaker 2: get the younger ones. But there's something to be said, Angie,
• 4:35
Speaker 2: you know this who've done this for a while for
• 4:38
Speaker 2: adopting and it's not really a senior maybe a middle
• 4:40
Speaker 2: aged dog. I guess you would say, yeah, there's something
• 4:42
Speaker 2: to be said for that, right there is.
• 4:46
Speaker 5: So I'm a person that also has adopted several senior
• 4:50
Speaker 5: pets from our shelter, and it's there's something that you
• 4:55
Speaker 5: can't explain. It's just such a rewarding feeling to get
• 4:57
Speaker 5: an animal out of that stressful environment and give them,
• 5:00
Speaker 5: why you may not have, you know, years and years
• 5:03
Speaker 5: and years with them, you're going to have a couple
• 5:06
Speaker 5: handful of years that are going to be the greatest
• 5:08
Speaker 5: of their life and possibly the greatest of yours.
• 5:11
Speaker 2: Do we know what kind of dog I mean? Is
• 5:13
Speaker 2: the classic West Virginia brown dog that we're talking about.
• 5:15
Speaker 5: Here in that's yeah, she's giving very West Virginia brown dog.
• 5:21
Speaker 5: I will say her ears are very kind of houndy,
• 5:24
Speaker 5: beagle like. There's something about her face that reminds me
• 5:27
  Speaker 5: of a.
• 5:28
Speaker 2: Beagles, right, Yeah, I thought the same thing when you
• 5:30
Speaker 2: sent me the picture yfter, that's kind of I kind
• 5:32
Speaker 2: of thought the same thing. And you know, in the
• 5:34
Speaker 2: situation like this, this is a dog again, as you said,
• 5:37
Speaker 2: that was adopted and we don't know what the backstory is,
• 5:40
Speaker 2: but was brought back in as astray. Maybe the owner's moved,
• 5:43
Speaker 2: maybe the owners just let her out. You've had no
• 5:45
Speaker 2: success in trying to get her back with her original owners.
• 5:48
Speaker 2: I always try to imagine what must be going through
• 5:51
Speaker 2: that dog's mind. You know, they may have had a
• 5:54
Speaker 2: I mean, we don't know what the environment was. Maybe
• 5:55
Speaker 2: it wasn't a great environment, but you know, you picture them,
• 5:58
Speaker 2: you know, being with the family, being with a person
• 6:01
Speaker 2: or whatever, and then all of a sudden they find
• 6:02
Speaker 2: themselves back in that shelter again. To me, that's that's heartbreaking.
• 6:07
Speaker 2: That's why I really really want to try to get
• 6:09
  Speaker 2: this dog adopted.
• 6:11
Speaker 5: Yeah, it is. It is heartbreaking innocence and then compared
• 6:15
Speaker 5: to what Jasmine's behavior is here right now. She's very open,
• 6:19
Speaker 5: very social, very loving to all of our staff members.
• 6:22
Speaker 5: So whatever her backstory was, she's taking it with, you know,
• 6:26
Speaker 5: taking it in strife and opening up and giving us
• 6:29
Speaker 5: all the chance to love on ourselves. She's very open
• 6:31
  Speaker 5: to second chances.
• 6:32
Speaker 2: And if you're looking for a great animal for the dog,
• 6:36
Speaker 2: as you, I mean, I'm a great animal for the family,
• 6:38
Speaker 2: I should say this will be an ideal because she
• 6:40
Speaker 2: loves kids. She seems to get along well with other
• 6:43
Speaker 2: other playful dogs. But do we know anything about cats
• 6:46
Speaker 2: or at all we know anything?
• 6:48
Speaker 5: We didn't know anything about cats. But given her personality,
• 6:51
Speaker 5: she is, you know, your typical lazy senior dog. I
• 6:56
Speaker 5: would say she would be fine in a home with cats,
• 6:58
Speaker 5: but we always recommend slow entry to be sure.
• 7:01
Speaker 2: Well, you know, we've had a lot of success. We've
• 7:02
Speaker 2: done this segment. I don't know, last two three years
• 7:05
Speaker 2: or so, I guess probably more. And we've had a
• 7:08
Speaker 2: lot of success. But the one success I always point
• 7:11
Speaker 2: to my success story, and I've gotten since this dog
• 7:14
Speaker 2: got adopted, to know this family pretty well. The Shepherd
• 7:18
Speaker 2: family out of Saint Albans and the dog Crewton. If
• 7:21
Speaker 2: you remember Crewton, Creuton was an older dog. And I
• 7:25
Speaker 2: just saw a picture that the Shepherd's posted on social
• 7:29
Speaker 2: media about Crewton. You talk about a dog that was
• 7:32
Speaker 2: an older dog. Not really sure how old Creuton was,
• 7:34
Speaker 2: but Creuton was a dog that got it. We got
• 7:36
Speaker 2: adopted a couple of years ago, absolutely living his best
• 7:41
Speaker 2: life right now. He has his own hashtag called Chronicles
• 7:45
  Speaker 2: of Creuton.
• 7:46
Speaker 4: How cool is that?
• 7:47
Speaker 5: Oh? I love to hear that. Those are my favorite
• 7:49
  Speaker 5: type of stories.
• 7:51
Speaker 2: So how are the numbers looking at the sheltered right now?
• 7:54
Speaker 2: I know I asked this every week, and every week
• 7:55
Speaker 2: it's the same answer. You're fulled up? But are we
• 7:57
Speaker 2: doing any better right now? As far as as far
• 8:00
Speaker 2: as room at the shelter?
• 8:03
Speaker 5: So there is a slight amount of wiggle room we
• 8:06
Speaker 5: can at least breathe in our cats and adult dog.
• 8:09
Speaker 5: Area where we are really struggling is puppies. For some reason,
• 8:13
Speaker 5: puppies are just not moving out of there the way
• 8:15
Speaker 5: they should be. So that is an area that we
• 8:19
Speaker 5: can really use help with either adoptions, fosters, or volunteers
• 8:23
Speaker 5: and help us take care.
• 8:25
Speaker 2: But Dave violand Chewing five any line brought to you

• 8:32
Speaker 2: Valley dot e du What do you need of as
• 8:36
Speaker 2: far as supplies and donations at the shelter right now?
• 8:38
Speaker 5: Angie, the biggest need right now is puppy chow to
• 8:42
Speaker 5: feed all of the puffies that we are taking care of.
• 8:45
Speaker 5: So puppy chow is our biggest need at this current moment.
• 8:49
Speaker 2: And somebody text me after the segment last week Angie
• 8:52
Speaker 2: and said, why do you guys never have cats on here?
• 8:56
Speaker 2: So I'm going to go ahead, I'll remind you, you
• 8:58
Speaker 2: remind me. Let's try to get a cat week.
• 9:00
  Speaker 4: Okay.
• 9:01
Speaker 5: You know what is so funny is I almost picked
• 9:03
Speaker 5: a cat this week, but I spent some time with
• 9:05
Speaker 5: jazz and yesterday and that's what made excuse her. So
• 9:08
Speaker 5: I will definitely get a cat next.
• 9:09
Speaker 2: We'll definitely do a cat for you next week. Hey, Angie,
• 9:13
Speaker 2: I appreciate as always you. Oh, by the way, tickets
• 9:15
Speaker 2: for tucks and Tails are on sale now right.
• 9:19
Speaker 5: Yes, you should be able to visit the Facebook event
• 9:21
Speaker 5: page with the link that'll take you right to the
• 9:23
  Speaker 5: ticket seal page.
• 9:24
Speaker 2: All right, Angie will talk soon. I appreciate you being here.
• 9:27
Speaker 5: Thanks a lot, no problem, you have a good one
• 9:30
  Speaker 5: you as well.
• 9:31
Speaker 2: It's Angie Gillawater from the Kennal Charleston You, Maine Association
• 9:34
Speaker 2: with this week's Adopt Me Please Pet of the Week.
• 9:36
Speaker 2: Jasmine is our dog. She is seven years old. She's
• 9:40
Speaker 2: spade and vaccinated. She's kid friendly, great in playgroups, walks.
• 9:45
Speaker 2: Angie's words like a dream on a leash, just an
• 9:48
Speaker 2: overall delight to be around, and a couch potatoes dream dog.
• 9:53
Speaker 2: Can we please try to get this dog adopted? I
• 9:55
Speaker 2: mean she talked about the puppies that she has there,
• 9:57
Speaker 2: and everybody wants the puppies. I get that, but man,
• 10:00
Speaker 2: what a fantastic dog this would be for someone Jasmine.
• 10:05
Speaker 2: I have her picture posted as I always do on
• 10:07
Speaker 2: Dave Allen Radio, on Facebook and at Dave A seventy
• 10:11
Speaker 2: on X So, if all possible, please please please let's
• 10:14
Speaker 2: try to get Jasmine adopted. I'd like to have another
• 10:16
Speaker 2: Cruton like success story. Tex says, will anyone from the
• 10:21
Speaker 2: shelter along would maybe some rescuers, vets, et cetera be
• 10:23
Speaker 2: willing to testify it the legislature to strengthen abuse and
• 10:27
Speaker 2: neglect times. Okay, I don't know what that says. The
• 10:31
Speaker 2: legislature make animal abuse and neglect laws more severe and
• 10:33
Speaker 2: make them first offense felonies with at least one year
• 10:36
Speaker 2: mandatory prison sentences. And just like their rabies, vaccines include
• 10:39
Speaker 2: mandatory spae and neuter as well.
• 10:41
  Speaker 4: And for the.
• 10:41
Speaker 2: County and city municipalities actually enforce the laws after investigations
• 10:46
Speaker 2: arrest the evil pieces of crap that do these things
• 10:49
Speaker 2: when identified that maybe then the stuff will finally stop. Well,
• 10:51
Speaker 2: it just happened to have a legislature legislator who's going
• 10:54
Speaker 2: to be coming up a little bit later on the show,
• 10:55
Speaker 2: so I'll talk to That'll get Mike Pushkin about that.

Speaker 2: pressure on it because he stepped into the studio here
• 13:50
Speaker 2: to listen to my interview there with Angie, and then
• 13:53
Speaker 2: he stepped out. But he's coming back a little bit

Speaker 2: later on. He said, let me see a picture of

• 14:26
Speaker 2: Of course you hear him talking about Mountain stage. But uh,
• 14:29
Speaker 2: hey man, how you doing.
• 14:30
Speaker 11: Hey, I'm good. Thank you for those kind words.
• 14:32
Speaker 4: That's the last one you get.
• 14:33
  Speaker 11: Yeah, that's it.
• 14:34
  Speaker 6: I know.
• 14:34
Speaker 12: That's why I wanted to make sure to thank you.
• 14:36
Speaker 12: You know how rare those are.
• 14:37
Speaker 2: Look, I'm at the Capitol yesterday.
• 14:39
Speaker 4: Okay, I was at the cap I was at the
• 14:42
Speaker 4: all right, we'll get in that.
• 14:43
Speaker 11: I was there tuesday for Tourism Day.
• 14:45
Speaker 2: All right, I was there at the Capitol yesterday. And
• 14:47
Speaker 2: who do hell and behold? Who do I see? Our
• 14:49
Speaker 2: good friend from the Good One administration, Matt Sutton, who
• 14:53
Speaker 2: comes up to me and he says, did you really
• 14:55
Speaker 2: refer to Adam Harris as one of the most sought
• 14:57
Speaker 2: after wrestling ring announcers in the country. In the country,
• 15:01
  Speaker 2: I said.
• 15:01
  Speaker 10: Yes, I mean, I mean it's not a deep pool,
• 15:04
  Speaker 10: is it.
• 15:06
  Speaker 4: Oh?
• 15:06
Speaker 2: No, I trained him I trained I taught him everything
• 15:09
Speaker 2: on credentials. The only one that can say they were
• 15:12
Speaker 2: trained by me. He taught him everything, you know, I
• 15:14
Speaker 2: told him. That didn't take long. Yeah, it was on
• 15:16
Speaker 2: about a forty five minute road trip. Once I said
• 15:20
Speaker 2: here's what you need to know, and so what you.
• 15:22
Speaker 10: Talk about for the other forty three and a half minutes.
• 15:24
Speaker 2: Hey, man, don't be crap it on my business. Man,
• 15:27
Speaker 2: my business I'm now retired from. But anyway, uh so,
• 15:30
Speaker 2: tomorrow's the Green Chili Shootout. Rob is going to be
• 15:33
Speaker 2: there from KWS. Logan will be there from V one hundred,
• 15:35
Speaker 2: Steve Animal, and myself will be there from the Mountain.
• 15:38
Speaker 2: There going to be a whole lot ofs that are
• 15:40
Speaker 2: going to be there tomorrow looking forward to Are you
• 15:42
  Speaker 2: judging this year?
• 15:43
  Speaker 4: I think so.
• 15:44
Speaker 10: I did last year. I would love to do it
• 15:46
Speaker 10: again this year. It's one of my favorite things of
• 15:48
Speaker 10: the year. And not only is it a legit chili competition,
• 15:54
Speaker 10: you know, I mean, they're pros coming in from all
• 15:56
Speaker 10: over the region, all over the world, and then there
• 15:58
Speaker 10: is also the people's choice. So you get pros, you
• 16:03
Speaker 10: get amateurs, you get lots of different tastes, But the
• 16:05
Speaker 10: thing I like about this it is a green chili
• 16:08
Speaker 10: cookoff for the pros, which means all green chilies. You
• 16:12
Speaker 10: do so many of the text mechs, you kind of
• 16:14
Speaker 10: get used to the Texas Red, the Bowl of Red, and.
• 16:18
Speaker 4: So it's a nice change of pace. It's a good time.
• 16:21
Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, and after the wrestling show. And by
• 16:24
Speaker 2: the way, I do want to mention this is a
• 16:25
Speaker 2: good point that Rob said. This is going to be
• 16:27
Speaker 2: a professional, you know, nationally sanctioned event. However, there are
• 16:31
Speaker 2: amateurs that are going to be there too, and the
• 16:33
Speaker 2: pros are going to be the green chili from what
• 16:35
Speaker 2: I understand for Yes.
• 16:36
Speaker 13: And some of the people's choice folks will do green
• 16:39
Speaker 13: chilies as well. Yeah, but you'll also get if you
• 16:41
Speaker 13: are a traditional bowl of red, that's the kind of
• 16:44
Speaker 13: chili I want. You can use all your tasting tickets
• 16:46
Speaker 13: on that if you prefer. But I think this is
• 16:50
Speaker 13: a great experience to try something new. Yeah, if very
• 16:53
Speaker 13: low stakes, risk ten dollars in advance for your tasting tickets.
• 16:57
Speaker 10: I know it's going to be fifteen when you get there,
• 16:59
Speaker 10: so maybe you're get today, but you get a taste
• 17:02
Speaker 10: of some green chili Ooh, I like that.
• 17:03
  Speaker 4: Ooh, I don't.
• 17:04
Speaker 10: That's not for me. So a great opportunity. And speaking
• 17:08
Speaker 10: of opportunities, the up close opportunity with the market Mayan.
• 17:12
Speaker 11: Yeah, it's going to be.
• 17:12
Speaker 2: Fair market ma'am. Adam Harris will be announcing this thing.
• 17:15
  Speaker 4: Is that right?
• 17:16
  Speaker 11: Yeah, that's right.
• 17:17
Speaker 2: This was something that that mean because Green Chili Shoot
• 17:19
Speaker 2: Shootout I think's gone on for a couple of years,
• 17:21
Speaker 2: but they added their wrestling event last year. And I
• 17:24
Speaker 2: was getting ready, some of us getting ready to leave,
• 17:26
Speaker 2: and I said, well, you know, I did this for
• 17:28
Speaker 2: thirty years. I'm gonna have to stick around watch this
• 17:30
Speaker 2: a little bit, my god. And the wrestling part's free.
• 17:33
  Speaker 4: Yeah.
• 17:33
Speaker 2: I mean, if you want to come to the wrestling show,
• 17:36
Speaker 2: do they provide the chairs or do you need to.
• 17:37
Speaker 4: Bring your own chair?
• 17:38
Speaker 12: You should bring a chair if you want a chair
• 17:39
Speaker 12: bad enough. There are a few chairs that they'll set
• 17:42
Speaker 12: up here at the Capitol Market, but lots of people
• 17:44
Speaker 12: are used to bring in their camp chairs or their
• 17:46
Speaker 12: folding chairs to the to the wrestling event. And that's
• 17:49
Speaker 12: what we're kind of telling people is bring your own
• 17:51
Speaker 12: chair if you want a chair. A lot of people
• 17:52
Speaker 12: just stood around the ring last year and enjoyed it.
• 17:55
Speaker 12: I think they did bang up numbers on the beer
• 17:58
Speaker 12: sales with our extra hours there, and so I'm pretty
• 18:02
Speaker 12: sure that the beer vendors are looking forward to that
• 18:03
Speaker 12: as well. And as Rob mentioned, man, it's a cheap
• 18:06
Speaker 12: ticket to get in. You can taste up to fifteen
• 18:08
Speaker 12: chilis or something like something like that and then but
• 18:12
Speaker 12: the wrestling is free, and so for a really low cost,
• 18:15
Speaker 12: it's going to be a beautiful day. You can take
• 18:16
Speaker 12: the family, stick around and maybe see what this pro
• 18:19
Speaker 12: wrestling thing is all about.
• 18:20
Speaker 2: And by the way, I did see the documentary grap
• 18:22
Speaker 2: Alacha nice not long goo. Rob, you haven't had a
• 18:24
Speaker 2: chance to see that.
• 18:25
Speaker 4: You need to do. You need to see that.
• 18:27
Speaker 2: Troy rankin general did that. Saw a lot of faces
• 18:32
Speaker 2: that I knew, including yours. But it's a great documentary,
• 18:36
  Speaker 2: and I know it's available.
• 18:37
Speaker 4: I think it's on YouTube. You can get a various places.
• 18:39
Speaker 2: I actually saw it on the local PBS station. Yeah,
• 18:41
Speaker 2: that's right, it's a documentary about that. So who old
• 18:43
Speaker 2: do we have competing?
• 18:44
  Speaker 5: Well?
• 18:45
Speaker 12: And so you're going to see a lot of the
• 18:46
Speaker 12: faces from that documentary. It's called Grapple Latcha and it
• 18:49
Speaker 12: was produced by West Virginia Public Broadcasting late last year,
• 18:51
Speaker 12: but it's out there, as Dave mentioned, on the streaming
• 18:54
Speaker 12: service through PBS and also on our YouTube. So just
• 18:56
Speaker 12: look up grapp A Latcha and they're going to see
• 18:59
Speaker 12: a lot of familiar face, including Troy Parker, who was
• 19:01
Speaker 12: actually the first ever Regatta Pro champion the first year
• 19:04
Speaker 12: we did Regatta Pro Wrestling. During the regatta, Troy Parker
• 19:08
Speaker 12: came out the winner of the first ever title, but
• 19:11
Speaker 12: then Bishop Baylor exercised a unique contract clause, got a
• 19:16
Speaker 12: rematch that same day and took the title and has
• 19:20
Speaker 12: been the longest reigning Regatta Pro champion since then. Although
• 19:23
Speaker 12: Bishop Baylor has had a little bit of a change
• 19:25
Speaker 12: of a heart, the fans are really backing him now
• 19:27
Speaker 12: and so he's one of our most popular stars and
• 19:29
Speaker 12: he's going to be defending the title on Saturday against
• 19:32
Speaker 12: his former tag team partner Shane Krazak. Troy Parker, who
• 19:36
Speaker 12: is all over that documentary. Grappaalacha is a wonderful huge
• 19:39
Speaker 12: He calls himself the heavyweight Striker, and he's stepping into
• 19:42
Speaker 12: a fatal five way match, and so five guys are.
• 19:45
Speaker 11: Going to be competing.
• 19:46
Speaker 12: First fall or first submission gets the win, and we've
• 19:48
Speaker 12: got a very special stipulation. Let's just say, Dave, there
• 19:52
Speaker 12: are some ramifications for this Summer's Sternwell Slamboree at State ramifications.
• 19:57
Speaker 10: Rob I was just wondering how Bishop Baylor manages to
• 20:01
Speaker 10: do all that wrestling can only move diagonally.
• 20:04
  Speaker 4: That's a that's a chest joke, Bishop.
• 20:06
Speaker 11: Oh Bishop, right, right right, Okay.
• 20:08
Speaker 10: Seriously, though, my favorite thing about this event is that
• 20:12
  Speaker 10: if you've got a young and who's who's into the
• 20:15
Speaker 10: getting into the wrestling.
• 20:16
Speaker 11: Like curious, yeah, eightling, curious, eight.
• 20:19
Speaker 10: Nine ten pin curious, you will never get an opportunity
• 20:25
Speaker 10: to see how it works up close.
• 20:28
Speaker 2: Everybody, as close as you can be.
• 20:29
Speaker 12: That's true, and that's what people love about indie wrestling,
• 20:31
Speaker 12: Like you can go to WWE or AW and get
• 20:34
Speaker 12: a stadium seed and experience the television and the lights
• 20:37
Speaker 12: and all that. This is like seeing your favorite band
• 20:40
Speaker 12: at the empty glass. This is like the guys who
• 20:43
Speaker 12: are working their way up, they all of course hope
• 20:45
Speaker 12: to be on television someday, but where they really thrive
• 20:48
Speaker 12: is in front of these audiences. This personal connection with
• 20:51
Speaker 12: the audiences and you can make icon to a contact
• 20:54
  Speaker 12: with the guys.
• 20:54
Speaker 11: They're going to stick around after.
• 20:56
Speaker 12: You can say hello to just about any of the
• 20:58
Speaker 12: wrestlers afterwards and get that up close experience that you
• 21:01
Speaker 12: just are not going to get at a WWE.
• 21:02
Speaker 10: And if you've got somebody who uses that f word fake,
• 21:06
Speaker 10: this is a great opportunity to show them how how
• 21:08
Speaker 10: much it is not true, how how incredible these acts?
• 21:12
Speaker 10: You know, how many r do you know how many
• 21:14
Speaker 10: trips I have taken to the er, not for myself
• 21:17
Speaker 10: but but but for other people that I have driven
• 21:19
Speaker 10: to the er and to get stitched up and one
• 21:22
Speaker 10: we left there on one particular show because that's how
• 21:25
  Speaker 10: fake it was.
• 21:26
Speaker 4: Is that? Yeah, I've spent a lot of nights in
• 21:28
  Speaker 4: the er.
• 21:29
  Speaker 10: Well.
• 21:29
Speaker 12: Our friend, our friend Candas Nelson from the Capitol Market
• 21:32
Speaker 12: was a huge help last year, huge help this year.
• 21:34
Speaker 12: But it was her first real exposure to wrestling, and
• 21:36
Speaker 12: of course in the opening match, Troy Parker had his
• 21:38
Speaker 12: nose broke and it was blood all over the place,
• 21:40
Speaker 12: and she was like, did that gentleman just break his nose?
• 21:43
Speaker 12: And I said, well yes, So she was kind of like,
• 21:46
Speaker 12: is that fake. I was like, I promise you that
• 21:48
Speaker 12: is Candace with all due respect. His nose is now
• 21:51
  Speaker 12: near his ear.
• 21:52
Speaker 4: This this is not fake.
• 21:54
Speaker 12: You can't really fake that. No, and she asked me
• 21:56
Speaker 12: again this week, is he going to be back? I'm like, yeah,
• 21:58
Speaker 12: his nose has been put back in place, seeking revenge.
• 22:00
Speaker 10: His nasal relocation has been has been reversed at a
• 22:04
Speaker 10: text here that said, slam Burrey is one of the
• 22:06
Speaker 10: best things about the regatta.
• 22:07
Speaker 12: Man, thank you, And we're coming back live and in
• 22:09
Speaker 12: color this summer. During I think it's Saturday, July fifth,
• 22:13
Speaker 12: we're gonna have some big news. We've already got a
• 22:15
Speaker 12: couple of special guests lined up. I might even announce
• 22:17
Speaker 12: our special guests this Saturday at Market Mayhem. So we're
• 22:20
Speaker 12: gonna hear a lot more about this summer on Saturday.
• 22:22
Speaker 2: All right, So getting back to the shootout, I think
• 22:24
Speaker 2: we're supposed to be there around.
• 22:25
  Speaker 4: Twelve or so.
• 22:26
Speaker 10: Noon to four is the official time on the shootout.
• 22:29
Speaker 10: I think noon is our call. Time to eat up
• 22:32
Speaker 10: the victuals and make our judgments. It's tough work, it is,
• 22:36
Speaker 10: I mean support that there's the food and the girls
• 22:39
Speaker 10: or the whole reason it got into this radio thing
• 22:41
  Speaker 10: forty years ago.
• 22:41
Speaker 4: Now, and now at our age, it's just the food.
• 22:43
Speaker 2: It's just the food, and I clearly do well with that.
• 22:47
Speaker 11: You don't even get free music anymore.
• 22:48
Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly right. So again we'll all be over there.
• 22:52
Speaker 2: There's gonna be a whole lot of people it's going
• 22:54
Speaker 2: to and the web. Everybody's been concerned about the weather.
• 22:57
Speaker 2: It looks right now, Well it looks like that though
• 23:00
Speaker 2: from what folks like Brian Hughes and Spencer Addingkins are
• 23:02
Speaker 2: telling me that any bad weather concerns would be much
• 23:06
Speaker 2: later at night. I mean, because originally it was may be,
• 23:09
Speaker 2: you know, a little rain, but anything that's severe, which
• 23:11
Speaker 2: we're kind of keeping an eye on, would be well
• 23:14
Speaker 2: into the evening hours or perhaps like one or two
• 23:16
Speaker 2: o'clock the next morning.
• 23:17
Speaker 4: The show will show will be over by that.
• 23:19
Speaker 12: I grew up on the farm day and my dad
• 23:21
Speaker 12: had to mo hay every summer. I know, you know
• 23:22
Speaker 12: a little bit about that. Well maybe not, but there's
• 23:24
Speaker 12: some people down in Logan that were farmers.
• 23:26
Speaker 2: But man, well they weren't farming. Hey, I can tell
• 23:28
Speaker 2: you that something else.
• 23:29
Speaker 12: The forecast was so important to mowing hay but my
• 23:32
Speaker 12: dad would have mowed Hay in thirty five percent chance
• 23:34
Speaker 12: of rain. Okay, I don't know if he would have
• 23:36
Speaker 12: built the wrestling ring, but he would have. He would
• 23:37
Speaker 12: have been he would have mowed Hay. I don't think
• 23:39
Speaker 12: there's anything for you.
• 23:40
Speaker 2: And again, if you want to come out to the
• 23:41
Speaker 2: wrestling show, the wrestling event is free, that's right, and come.
• 23:44
Speaker 11: Out to that four pm bell time, Ding ding Ding.
• 23:46
Speaker 12: We've got five sighting matches, three championship matches and that's
• 23:50
Speaker 12: all at noon. The tasting starts at noon. Pro Wrestling
• 23:53
Speaker 12: kicks off at four. What a great day to be
• 23:55
  Speaker 12: in Charleston.
• 23:56
Speaker 1: And it's going to be a great day.
• 23:57
Speaker 2: Rob, You and I and Animal and Logan will all
• 23:59
Speaker 2: be over it respective stations tomorrow. So we're looking forward
• 24:03
Speaker 2: to it. Not wearing white shirts like I am today.
• 24:05
Speaker 2: I'll have the black T shirt on tomorrow. He's going
• 24:07
Speaker 2: to be covered and chill and maybe somebody's broken nose
• 24:10
  Speaker 2: blood there.
• 24:10
  Speaker 11: You never know.
• 24:11
Speaker 10: You might want to go with green, Yeah, because green
• 24:14
Speaker 10: chili and just a sgit I'm gonna work.
• 24:17
Speaker 4: Well, yeah, you've been wearing green.

Speaker 4: just been a long time since I've seen you day.
• 28:24
Speaker 4: So are you going to adopt this dog or what
• 28:26
Speaker 4: Jazz sounds like? My kind of dog? Dog just chills.
• 28:29
Speaker 4: It's a couch potato. Does my dogs have no chill?
• 28:33
Speaker 2: That's way you need Jasmine? Can I trade two dogs
• 28:35
Speaker 2: for Jasmine and g If you're listening, I'm going to trade.
• 28:38
Speaker 2: I would never do that, now, I understand. I know
• 28:40
Speaker 2: you probably adopt one. And just speaking of which.
• 28:43
Speaker 4: Let me get dogs. We're both rescue dogs. I know
• 28:46
Speaker 4: that very well about you.
• 28:47
Speaker 2: Also, someone who texted earlier about the legislature in their words,
• 28:51
Speaker 2: I think you know, kind of getting serious about animal cruelty.
• 28:54
Speaker 2: I don't know whether you saw this story or not.
• 28:56
Speaker 2: We're not gonna spend a lot of time on this,
• 28:57
Speaker 2: but I actually saw this on social media as well,
• 28:59
Speaker 2: from the Utnam County Shelter. There was a dog that
• 29:02
Speaker 2: was found tied to a pole in Valley Park and
• 29:07
Speaker 2: you can go to the Putnam you can go to
• 29:09
Speaker 2: the Putnam County Animal Shelter page and tend to see that.
• 29:14
Speaker 2: So the texture said, this is why I ask about
• 29:16
  Speaker 2: testifying the legislature.
• 29:17
Speaker 4: This evil's got to stop. It makes me sick.
• 29:20
  Speaker 5: You know.
• 29:21
Speaker 4: Actually I used to have a one of the best
• 29:23
Speaker 4: dogs I ever had. By the way, her name was Ruth.
• 29:27
Speaker 4: I remember that, just like my wife. And Ruth was
• 29:30
Speaker 4: found tied to a guardrail near the Morton Trap, you
• 29:34
Speaker 4: know rest stop down on the Turnpike. That's where Ruth
• 29:37
Speaker 4: was found. And then I got her through the shelter,
• 29:40
Speaker 4: but that's where somebody had found her tied to a guardrail.
• 29:43
Speaker 4: It makes me sick. She was and she was the
• 29:45
Speaker 4: best dog, one of the best dogs that she was
• 29:48
Speaker 4: such a good dog. And she was such a good
• 29:49
Speaker 4: dog that after she passed away, they when they put
• 29:52
Speaker 4: the dog statue in down there at at City Center
• 29:56
Speaker 4: at Slack Plaza. If you look closely on the on
• 29:59
Speaker 4: the collar, it says Ruth.
• 30:00
Speaker 2: Yeah, I know, I remember you told me about that.
• 30:04
Speaker 2: So let me get into this first. And yesterday there
• 30:08
Speaker 2: was a ruling out of the Supreme Court about a
• 30:11
Speaker 2: vacant spot in the legislature.
• 30:14
Speaker 4: Do you want to weigh in on that? Sure? Well,
• 30:17
Speaker 4: what we got was a first of all, we filed
• 30:20
Speaker 4: this before session. Obviously after the you know, the initiative
• 30:23
Speaker 4: ceremonial first day when the legislature passed this resolution to
• 30:27
Speaker 4: create a vacancy, which is unprecedented and it's not legal
• 30:31
Speaker 4: in my opinion, it should be the opinion of the
• 30:33
Speaker 4: court as well. You can't the legislature can't just pass
• 30:36
  Speaker 4: a resolution declaring a vacancy. That's it's a really bad precedent.
• 30:39
Speaker 4: If they don't like the outcome of an election, they
• 30:41
Speaker 4: could just get the majority of their members the pass
• 30:43
Speaker 4: the resolution declaring a vacancy. And that's what they did
• 30:48
Speaker 4: over this incident with Delegate elect DeSoto. So they declared
• 30:53
Speaker 4: the vacancy. But also what what the governor did and
• 30:55
Speaker 4: the legislature did in their resolution, they ignored a law
• 30:59
Speaker 4: that says that a vacancy must be filled by the
• 31:02
Speaker 4: party that the subject of the vacancy, the party they
• 31:07
Speaker 4: were in immediately prior to the vacancy being created. Right, So,
• 31:13
Speaker 4: and that law is the law that I voted against.
• 31:16
Speaker 4: It was in response that was immediate. Originally, that law
• 31:19
Speaker 4: was passed after a Supreme Court decision. I believe it
• 31:22
Speaker 4: was B four v. Tomlin, which was over Daniel Hall,
• 31:25
Speaker 4: who was a former state senator who was a former Democrat.
• 31:29
Speaker 4: And then when back in twenty fourteen when the legislature
• 31:33
Speaker 4: or so when the Senate was tied fourteen fourteen, he
• 31:38
Speaker 4: switched parties to give the Republicans the majority. That was
• 31:41
Speaker 4: the first time that Republicans got the majority. Was over
• 31:43
Speaker 4: him switching party, switching parties.
• 31:46
Speaker 2: Before it was cool.
• 31:46
Speaker 4: He was yeah, yeah, he was a country when country
• 31:48
Speaker 4: wasn't cool. So he switched parties. And then there was
• 31:51
Speaker 4: a lawsuit over that, and the Supreme Court ruled in air.
• 31:54
Speaker 4: I believe that it should go to the party before
• 31:57
Speaker 4: he said that, and we brought this scenario up. Somebody
• 32:00
Speaker 4: could just switch parties and then resign. Well, delegate Electorsoto
• 32:05
Speaker 4: switched parties before the vacancy was created, and it was
• 32:08
Speaker 4: a bad law, but it's the law, and the legislature.
• 32:11
Speaker 4: Now that it doesn't work in their favor, they ignored
• 32:14
Speaker 4: that law and what we got yesterday. We filed a
• 32:16
Speaker 4: lawsuit over it, and we were expecting an expedient response
• 32:21
Speaker 4: from the Supreme Court. Instead they held it coincidentally for
• 32:25
Speaker 4: thirty days and on day thirty thirty is a magic
• 32:30
Speaker 4: number here, on day thirty of the legislature, they said,
• 32:33
Speaker 4: because we didn't file a thirty day notice that they
• 32:36
Speaker 4: were dismissing that case. There's still another case against the
• 32:39
Speaker 4: legislature over their illegal resolution to create a vacancy, and
• 32:43
Speaker 4: hopefully we got our day in court soon over that
• 32:46
Speaker 4: after the session. But they issued this statement late on
• 32:51
Speaker 4: day thirty And coincidentally, Dave, if you believe in coincidences. Coincidentally,
• 32:55
Speaker 4: there are two bills running exact same builders. One in
• 32:57
Speaker 4: the Senate, won in the House, which over took turns
• 33:01
Speaker 4: be a four v. Tomlin, the law that they refused
• 33:04
Speaker 4: to follow about filling these vacancies with the party at
• 33:08
Speaker 4: the at the time of the vacancy. They have two bills,
• 33:11
Speaker 4: one in the House, one in the Senate. They're both
• 33:13
Speaker 4: on first reading. Coincidentally, today, if I'm required to vote,
• 33:18
Speaker 4: which I feel like I might be exempt from voting
• 33:20
Speaker 4: since I am the planeff in the lawsuit over it,
• 33:22
Speaker 4: I would vote for it. In fact, I introduced a
• 33:24
Speaker 4: version of this bill because I think it should. I
• 33:27
Speaker 4: think the vacant the vacancies should reflect the will of
• 33:30
Speaker 4: the voters. You know, they got it wrong back when
• 33:33
Speaker 4: they you know, and be a four v. Tomlin. The
• 33:35
Speaker 4: legislature doubled down on it. I voted against it. When
• 33:37
Speaker 4: they did, would they codified that that bad ruling and
• 33:41
Speaker 4: now they want to overturn it when it doesn't work
• 33:43
Speaker 4: for their benefit. It's it's such a coincidence day.
• 33:48
Speaker 2: So are you a legend something nefarious has happened here, Michael,
• 33:50
Speaker 2: I would never, It's just a coincidence, coincidence.
• 33:54
Speaker 4: Coincidentally, they waited thirty days to say that we didn't
• 33:57
Speaker 4: file the correct thirty day notice, and then the legislature
• 34:00
Speaker 4: will be done in thirty days, which would mean that
• 34:02
Speaker 4: we could not get back in court in time before
• 34:04
Speaker 4: they before they pass a law to overturn the law
• 34:07
Speaker 4: that is in court. Fairly complicated, but a lot of
• 34:10
  Speaker 4: coincidences happening.
• 34:11
Speaker 2: Mentioned earlier about the girls state basketball tournament, Mike, the
• 34:14
Speaker 2: Ladies Spartans of Greenbrier East taking on the Lady Pioneers
• 34:17
Speaker 2: of Wayne's My final Friday, the girls State term at
• 34:19
Speaker 2: the Conecuman Convention Center, and your your US Senator Jim Justice.
• 34:24
Speaker 2: Mike is on the sidelines coaching. I am presuming today. Wow,
• 34:29
  Speaker 2: Well your thoughts.
• 34:30
Speaker 4: My thoughts are, well, it's a good thing that this
• 34:32
Speaker 4: h you know, this the bill that they passed this.
• 34:36
Speaker 4: You know, the genital inspection bill about bathrooms doesn't go
• 34:39
Speaker 4: into effect yet, or coach justice would not be able
• 34:42
Speaker 4: to give a locker room speech.
• 34:44
Speaker 2: Is it going to go I mean somebody else brought
• 34:46
Speaker 2: that up. A Texter brought that up. Is it going
• 34:49
Speaker 2: to go that far?
• 34:50
Speaker 4: In your opinion, it's a poorly written bill. We had
• 34:53
Speaker 4: a poorly written amendment that was offered by the Judiciary
• 34:56
Speaker 4: chair in the House. It was a rush. How often
• 34:59
Speaker 4: have you seen a bill pass that fast and then
• 35:01
Speaker 4: the governor have a signing ceremony the day after it
• 35:04
Speaker 4: passes that. They didn't have time to vet the bill.
• 35:06
Speaker 4: It's a poorly written bill and it has some mistakes
• 35:09
Speaker 4: in it. Yeah, that that's that that would apply to
• 35:12
Speaker 4: coaches in locker rooms giving you know, halftime speeches.
• 35:16
Speaker 2: The and this has been this is kind of occupied
• 35:19
Speaker 2: a lot of the news and on this show and
• 35:21
Speaker 2: social media. I had dele get Kayla Young on the
• 35:23
Speaker 2: show yesterday. The day before that, I had Delegate Acres
• 35:25
Speaker 2: on the show. The amendment was labeled by some as
• 35:28
Speaker 2: quote dangerous. The question I have asked that was me
• 35:34
Speaker 2: that was the statement from the Okay, was it in
• 35:37
Speaker 2: the statement. I mean, was it in the democratic of
• 35:40
Speaker 2: the House? Okay, okay, okay? And I guess the question
• 35:44
Speaker 2: it begs the question that if the amendment was dangerous,
• 35:46
Speaker 2: why wasn't there more.
• 35:47
Speaker 4: Pushback from the Democrats that because it was so poorly
• 35:49
Speaker 4: written it was it was hard to figure I mean,
• 35:52
Speaker 4: it was hard to figure it out because it's what
• 35:54
Speaker 4: we call back. You know, some English majors would call
• 35:56
  Speaker 4: a disjunctive clause.
• 35:58
Speaker 2: Remember at that term, and well that you're about to
• 36:01
Speaker 2: hear it, and a lot of Look, a lot has
• 36:03
Speaker 2: been said about Chairman Acres amendment, except the actual seventy
• 36:09
Speaker 2: two words of the amendment.
• 36:10
Speaker 4: So if you bear with me, I'd like to read
• 36:12
Speaker 4: the amendment and tell you exactly what it does. Okay.
• 36:15
Speaker 4: And it's confusing. It is confusing, and that's why when
• 36:19
Speaker 4: at first glance there wasn't you know, we're still trying
• 36:21
Speaker 4: to figure out what it does. I don't think the
• 36:24
Speaker 4: sponsor of the amendment understood exactly what it did. Really,
• 36:26
Speaker 4: to give him the benefit of the doubt, I don't
• 36:28
Speaker 4: think he realized how bad this amendment was. I'll read
• 36:31
Speaker 4: it to you, provided that nothing in this article may
• 36:34
Speaker 4: be construed as authorizing any person other than any person
• 36:38
Speaker 4: other than a treating healthcare provider to visually or physically
• 36:42
Speaker 4: examine a minor child for purposes of verifying the biological
• 36:46
Speaker 4: sex of the child without the consent of the child's parent,
• 36:50
Speaker 4: guardian or custodian. That's a disjunctive clause. And what that
• 36:53
Speaker 4: would actually do legally, it would allow for healthcare provider
• 36:58
Speaker 4: like a school nurse. I would see, that's how it
• 37:00
Speaker 4: would work out if the issue was in a school
• 37:03
Speaker 4: to conduct this examination for the purpose of verifying biological
• 37:10
Speaker 4: sex of a child, which means, I hate to bring
• 37:12
Speaker 4: it up again, an examination of genitals without the consent
• 37:18
Speaker 4: of the child's parent, guardian or custodian. So that would
• 37:20
Speaker 4: allow the school nurse to conduct this examination without without
• 37:25
  Speaker 4: parental consent. That's why it's a dangerous amendment, and that's
• 37:29
Speaker 4: what that's what created the problem. And I'll tell you
• 37:31
Speaker 4: there was also absolutely no opposition in the Senate when
• 37:35
Speaker 4: they removed this dangerous amendment. The Senate voted unanimously to
• 37:38
Speaker 4: take that out intact. The Senate majority leader, Senator Martin
• 37:43
Speaker 4: agreed with Senator Garcia when he said they explained that's
• 37:46
Speaker 4: what the amendment does. Yes, that's why they took it out.
• 37:49
Speaker 4: There were no votes on that to take it out.
• 37:52
Speaker 4: When it came back from the Senate, it also unanimously
• 37:56
Speaker 4: the House agreed to take that dangerous amendment out, and
• 38:00
Speaker 4: including Chairman Acres, he voted to remove his own amendment
• 38:03
Speaker 4: because it was flawed. Like I said, I'll give him
• 38:05
Speaker 4: the benefit of the doubt and say he wrote a
• 38:08
Speaker 4: poorly written amendment and he should just own it. It's
• 38:12
Speaker 4: out of the bill. Just own it. Say he made
• 38:14
  Speaker 4: a mistake.
• 38:16
Speaker 2: And I had him on the show Wednesday, as I said,
• 38:19
Speaker 2: and he asked then he said, if anyone would like
• 38:23
Speaker 2: to come on the show on this show, and I'm
• 38:27
Speaker 2: always open anybody wants to come on this show to
• 38:29
Speaker 2: debate this with either you or or Delegate Delegate Kayla Young.
• 38:34
Speaker 2: He mentioned her by name, if you want to come up.
• 38:37
Speaker 2: But I'll be honest with you, Mike, I would like
• 38:39
Speaker 2: to put this whole thing to rest, to be honest
• 38:40
Speaker 2: with you, because I'm kind of tired of talking to
• 38:42
  Speaker 2: why children's genitals.
• 38:43
Speaker 4: I'm tired of it too, and I'm tired of wasting
• 38:45
Speaker 4: precious legislative time passing bills about it. And then taking
• 38:50
Speaker 4: a forty five minute or an hour long recess for
• 38:53
Speaker 4: the Republicans to run downstairs to pose in a photo
• 38:56
Speaker 4: op while the governor signs this flawed piece of legislation.
• 38:59
Speaker 4: I'm tired of waiting time on bathrooms. We should be
• 39:02
Speaker 4: more concerned about putting teachers in the classroom. We should
• 39:06
Speaker 4: be more worried about our six thousand children in foster care.
• 39:09
Speaker 4: We have so many issues. And what have we passed
• 39:12
Speaker 4: so far? What five bills have passed?
• 39:14
Speaker 2: And two of those were statutory, right, I mean that happened.
• 39:16
Speaker 4: And and then the most important and the one he has,
• 39:19
Speaker 4: the bill that he rushes through to have a bill
• 39:21
Speaker 4: signing ceremony over Uh, was this bill bathroom bill? And
• 39:26
Speaker 4: we've had Look, we've had public restrooms for a long
• 39:29
Speaker 4: time day and it's not been an issue. It hasn't
• 39:32
Speaker 4: happened here, there is there are no issues with this.
• 39:34
Speaker 4: But this will create more problems than it than it solves,
• 39:38
Speaker 4: because it creates this this you know, this fear and
• 39:42
Speaker 4: this you know, distrust of the other and you know,
• 39:45
Speaker 4: checking people just you know, before they can use a
• 39:47
Speaker 4: public restroom. It's ridiculous and it didn't deserve to see
• 39:51
Speaker 4: the light of day. Unfortunately, we're wasting all this time
• 39:53
Speaker 4: with it. But the answer you're with a halfway time.
• 39:56
Speaker 4: I would come on and discuss this issue, but like you,
• 39:58
Speaker 4: I'm tired of talking about.
• 40:00
Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I kind of am with this, but I won't.
• 40:03
Speaker 4: I'm back down from a discussion because actually, the truth
• 40:08
Speaker 4: happens to be on my side. I just read the amendment.
• 40:10
Speaker 4: That's exactly what the amendment does. It was a poorly
• 40:13
Speaker 4: written amendment, and that's what happens when you rush through
• 40:15
Speaker 4: legislation and just push things out for the benefit of
• 40:19
Speaker 4: a photo op, you get flawed work. And the same
• 40:22
Speaker 4: could be said for a lot of the work that's
• 40:24
Speaker 4: coming out of the Judiciary Committee. Unfortunately, there was a
• 40:27
Speaker 4: bill yesterday about allowing for corporate cash directly to campaigns,
• 40:33
Speaker 4: which is illegal even on a congressional level. I mean,
• 40:35
Speaker 4: corporations can't give directly to the Trump campaign, but they
• 40:38
Speaker 4: wanted to legalize this in West Virginia for corporations to
• 40:41
Speaker 4: give directly to candidates. It was another flawed bill. There
• 40:44
Speaker 4: were some other issues with it. It came out of the
• 40:46
Speaker 4: House Judiciary and it died on the floor. A bill
• 40:49
Speaker 4: that came out of Judiciary. It died on the floor
• 40:51
Speaker 4: because it was a bad bill. So I think if
• 40:53
Speaker 4: they would spend more time in that committee and actually
• 40:56
Speaker 4: vet these bills properly instead of you know, conducting Twitter
• 41:00
Speaker 4: and Facebook battles on their phones while they're supposed to
• 41:02
Speaker 4: be concentrating on the legislative session, maybe we'd get better
• 41:06
Speaker 4: work out of the Judiciary committee.
• 41:07
Speaker 2: Texays, No, there's nothing nefarious going on. The fact is,
• 41:11
Speaker 2: elections have consequences. The GOP wants elections, and therefore they
• 41:15
Speaker 2: pass bills that will benefit the will of the people.
• 41:17
Speaker 4: The people spoke the GOP is working for them. Well,
• 41:20
Speaker 4: it is the bills entirely about elections. That's all it's
• 41:23
Speaker 4: about is about And you know, you can see, I mean,
• 41:27
Speaker 4: Delegate Long, Delegate Young spoke about it, all the negative
• 41:30
Speaker 4: mailers that she got over this issue. But I find
• 41:34
Speaker 4: it incredibly distasteful. We're just using you know, fear and
• 41:37
Speaker 4: hatred and mistrust for political expediency instead of actually doing
• 41:43
Speaker 4: things that help our constituents, you know, focusing on issues
• 41:46
Speaker 4: like fixing roads, like making health care more affordable and accessible,
• 41:50
Speaker 4: about actually things that people really want us to do.
• 41:52
Speaker 4: And I realized that there's a political expediency tied to this,
• 41:55
Speaker 4: and that's why they do it. But who does it
• 41:57
  Speaker 4: really help?
• 41:58
Speaker 2: Texas Mike, I have a daughter about to start potty
• 42:01
Speaker 2: training when she's old enough to use public restrooms. Am
• 42:03
Speaker 2: I allowed in the women's to help her use the bathroom?
• 42:06
Speaker 2: I'm presuming this is a man that's texting, Or do
• 42:08
Speaker 2: I have to take her into the men's restroom? And
• 42:10
Speaker 2: is she allowed to use the men's restrooms so I
• 42:12
  Speaker 2: can help her?
• 42:13
Speaker 4: And why should the legislature be be dictating this sort
• 42:17
Speaker 4: of thing? Really, it's like, you know, I don't bill
• 42:20
Speaker 4: was written so poorly. I'm not sure it's you know,
• 42:22
Speaker 4: it's a good question. I'm sorry that somebody even has
• 42:25
Speaker 4: to ask that question. It should be able to, you know,
• 42:28
Speaker 4: assist your child and be a good parent. It's just
• 42:32
  Speaker 4: a it's a ridiculous piece of Legiously.
• 42:34
Speaker 2: Tex says the reason we haven't had an issue with
• 42:35
Speaker 2: bathrooms in the past is because the past transgenderism was
• 42:38
Speaker 2: severely abnormal. Well guess what, it's still to abnormal. But
• 42:41
Speaker 2: the Democrats push this issue every turn. Therefore, we need
• 42:44
Speaker 2: to protect women as a texture.
• 42:46
Speaker 4: There hasn't been an issue here. We've had restrooms for
• 42:48
Speaker 4: a long time. There have not been any issues. This
• 42:51
Speaker 4: is this is entirely about elections. If you don't believe me,
• 42:55
Speaker 4: check your mailbox next next election cycle and see how
• 42:59
Speaker 4: many pieces a mail you get about this non issue.
• 43:02
Speaker 4: I mean, we know that's what it's about there. And
• 43:05
Speaker 4: this is why they have a signing ceremony over this.
• 43:09
Speaker 2: I've used I've used the term low hanging fruit on
• 43:14
Speaker 2: and try not to giggle when I said it on
• 43:17
Speaker 2: about this issue because it's easy.
• 43:18
Speaker 4: It's easy, you know, and and and again. The people,
• 43:21
Speaker 4: the people deserve a legislature that are going to do
• 43:23
Speaker 4: things that are hard. They elect us to do the
• 43:25
Speaker 4: difficult things like address real issues that that uh, that
• 43:30
Speaker 4: that need our attention. We're looking at what according to
• 43:32
Speaker 4: the governor, we're looking at a four hundred million dollar debt. Uh.
• 43:36
Speaker 4: We are, we have an overburdened foster care system. We
• 43:41
Speaker 4: have you know, young families that can't get to work
• 43:43
Speaker 4: because of childcare issues. We have so many real issues
• 43:46
Speaker 4: we need to address, but we have we take a
• 43:49
Speaker 4: forty five minute recess to get a photo op over
• 43:53
  Speaker 4: a bathroom bill.
• 43:54
Speaker 2: Let me let me switch gears before we go to
• 43:56
Speaker 2: break here, we do we and I want to get
• 43:58
Speaker 2: off this. Uh we do well, I've got a news
• 44:00
Speaker 2: break here from our friends over at thirteen that says
• 44:03
  Speaker 2: Senator Jim Justice.
• 44:04
Speaker 4: Of course we'll be coaching the game. As we talked.
• 44:06
Speaker 2: About, us Senate has until eleven fifty nine tonight to
• 44:09
Speaker 2: pass the spending bill and get it a President Trump's
• 44:11
Speaker 2: desk to fund federal agencies through September. And I mean,
• 44:15
Speaker 2: I'm assumed maybe maybe maybe Senator Justice, because it's an
• 44:18
Speaker 2: early game, maybe he's going to go back to d
• 44:20
  Speaker 2: C tonight.
• 44:20
  Speaker 4: I don't I don't know.
• 44:21
Speaker 2: Maybe he is, because if they win today, then they
• 44:24
Speaker 2: come back and play with championships tomorrows. So maybe he's
• 44:26
Speaker 2: headed back to d C. I mean, it just seems
• 44:28
Speaker 2: to me though that there's probably more important things to
• 44:31
Speaker 2: worry about, as much as I love high school sports
• 44:33
  Speaker 2: than that.
• 44:34
Speaker 4: But that's just me. All Right, we got to take
• 44:36
Speaker 4: a break. But Dave Ally a shame of the government
• 44:38
Speaker 4: shut down because Justice decided to coach at basketball.
• 44:41
  Speaker 2: I don't think it's going to I don't think it's
• 44:42
Speaker 2: going to. Even Schumer said that, all right, if Dave

Speaker 8: We all on what's best for our kids, safe, healthy choices,
• 45:04
Speaker 8: but some politicians right here in West Virginia are going
• 45:08
Speaker 8: way too far. They're pushing a ban on safe ingredients
• 45:13
Speaker 8: in our grocery stores. That ban would jack up prices
• 45:16
Speaker 8: on almost everything we buy. Banning these types of ingredients
• 45:19
Speaker 8: would eliminate sixty percent of the food on grocery shelves,
• 45:23
Speaker 8: hiking prices even more when we're already struggling worse. It
• 45:27
Speaker 8: would cost thousands of jobs all across West Virginia. Governor
• 45:32
Speaker 8: Morrissey can stop this reckless ban and veto it. We
• 45:36
Speaker 8: just can't afford it. It goes way too far. There
• 45:39
Speaker 8: are more sensible solutions. It should be our choice, not
• 45:43
Speaker 8: the governments. Call Governor Morrissey at three zero four, five

• 46:33
Speaker 2: bending over backwards to appease and to kiss the rings
• 46:36
Speaker 2: of the trans community by caving into their every delusional demand,
• 46:39
Speaker 2: such as sitting back and blindly allowing boys who feel
• 46:42
Speaker 2: like girls into real girls' locker rooms and boys that
• 46:44
Speaker 2: feel like girls playing against girls in sports. Let your
• 46:47

• 46:50

• 47:00
Speaker 4: Yeah, it's illegal for men to walk into the I
• 47:03
Speaker 4: mean to go and yeah, that's our We already have
• 47:05
Speaker 4: laws on the books to prevent that from happening. That's
• 47:07
Speaker 4: why it hasn't been an issue. And I take a
• 47:09
Speaker 4: little issue with the spirit of that text there, because
• 47:12
Speaker 4: that's not we're do. The Democrats want to focus on
• 47:15
Speaker 4: kitchen table issues. If you look at the bills that
• 47:17
Speaker 4: I introduce, you look at the bills to delegate young introducers.
• 47:20
Speaker 4: She has all sorts of bills addressing the childcare shortage
• 47:22
Speaker 4: and the childcare crisis in this state. You know, I
• 47:26
Speaker 4: have bills addressing healthcare issues. We have, you know, bills
• 47:29
Speaker 4: that actually address real issues. That's what we want to
• 47:31
Speaker 4: talk about. We don't set the agenda. We're not the
• 47:33
Speaker 4: ones taking a recess for forty five minutes to pose
• 47:36
Speaker 4: for pictures while we sign a meaningless bathroom bill. We
• 47:39
  Speaker 4: want to work.

• 48:02
Speaker 4: The part that bothers me. The most real people get
• 48:04
Speaker 4: hurt where they have the runn these bills that are
• 48:06
Speaker 4: always targeting the other. It's always targeting the other. I'd
• 48:09
Speaker 4: like to see bills that unite us, things that we
• 48:11
Speaker 4: can all agree on, that actually help our constituents, help
• 48:15
Speaker 4: our friends and neighbors. That's what we're supposed to be doing,
• 48:17
Speaker 4: not putting targets on people's back. At it like a
• 48:20
Speaker 4: very small, tiny minority of people. We're gonna blame them
• 48:24
Speaker 4: for all our problems, and that way people would ignore
• 48:26
Speaker 4: the fact that Republicans don't really know how to govern.
• 48:29
Speaker 4: It's the oldest trick in the book. It's called uniting
• 48:32
Speaker 4: people against the common enemy, so they don't pay attention
• 48:35
Speaker 4: to your own flaws. And that's what really upsets me

• 48:52
Speaker 2: on the partisanship of judges? The Republicans ten years ago
• 48:56
Speaker 2: wanted to get rid of partisanship. They wanted to were
• 48:59
Speaker 2: all judges to be non partisan. Now they're coming back.
• 49:02
Speaker 2: The Republicans are coming back and saying, well, hold on
• 49:04
  Speaker 2: a second.
• 49:05
Speaker 4: First, when you asked me that question about the partisanship
• 49:07
Speaker 4: of judges, I was thinking about that ruling I just
• 49:09
Speaker 4: received yesterday. But no, I don't want to see it
• 49:12
Speaker 4: any more partisan than it is right now. No, the
• 49:14
Speaker 4: Republicans just passed this law. It seems like just a
• 49:17
Speaker 4: few short years ago where they wanted to make judicial
• 49:20
Speaker 4: races nonpartisan. There haven't been any issues. I don't know
• 49:25
Speaker 4: what the problem that they're trying to address. I think
• 49:27
Speaker 4: most people don't want to see partisan races, especially if
• 49:31
Speaker 4: they're trying to exclude independence from voting in partisan primaries.
• 49:36
Speaker 4: Then you're not even allow independence to vote on their judges,
• 49:39
Speaker 4: which is another bill that I'm very much against, as
• 49:42
Speaker 4: the one that would bar independence from voting in primaries.
• 49:45
Speaker 4: I think that's up to the parties to decide. But no,
• 49:47
Speaker 4: I think it's a big mistake to go back to
• 49:50
Speaker 4: partisan judicial races. And it wasn't that long ago that
• 49:54
Speaker 4: the Republicans were the ones that led the charge on
• 49:57
Speaker 4: this bill. So what has changed?
• 49:59
Speaker 2: Well, what I mean, one one of the delegates, one
• 50:01
Speaker 2: of the legislators, I should say, made the comment about
• 50:04
Speaker 2: liberal judges act liberal activist judges.
• 50:08
  Speaker 4: Who want if they want elections. I don't. I don't
• 50:10
Speaker 4: know of any liberal activist judges here in West Virginia.
• 50:13
Speaker 2: Day this is the supreme I mean, some would argue
• 50:16
Speaker 2: with you on that mic, some would argue with it,
• 50:19
Speaker 2: and there look, there may be some that argue on
• 50:21
Speaker 2: the other side that say that we've got issues with concern.
• 50:23
Speaker 2: I just want a judge to be a judge. And
• 50:25
Speaker 2: my thing is is the legislature doesn't need to anybody.
• 50:29
Speaker 2: You can look up anybody's party. You can you can
• 50:31
Speaker 2: literally look up anybody's party already. And I don't understand
• 50:35
Speaker 2: why this is such an issue suddenly when it wasn't
• 50:38
Speaker 2: ten years ago, and it suddenly became an issue now.
• 50:41
Speaker 2: You can look up anybody's party in West Virginia that
• 50:43
Speaker 2: you want to correct. It's very simple.
• 50:46
Speaker 4: Yeah, it's I don't understand what the problem is that
• 50:48
  Speaker 4: they're trying to address. I really don't. You know. I
• 50:52
Speaker 4: don't always like the outcome of elections, but I don't
• 50:54
Speaker 4: go back and try to change the law to uh
• 50:56
Speaker 4: to overturn them or change the outcome. I live with it.
• 51:00
Speaker 2: Texas, take unbreach all you want. But I used to
• 51:03
Speaker 2: be a Democrat and a lot of us left you
• 51:05
Speaker 2: all because of stuff like this.
• 51:06
Speaker 4: Well, I'll tell you what we're focused on, and it's
• 51:08
Speaker 4: on issues that are going to actually help you, not
• 51:11
Speaker 4: issues that seek to divide you and make you hate
• 51:15
Speaker 4: your neighbor. We want people to love their neighbor, work together.

• 51:26
Speaker 4: to work. They can earn a living wage. Right, all
• 51:29
Speaker 4: that good stuff, all right, that's what Democrats have always
