  Speaker 1: How great to start our day with the confidence that

  Speaker 1: God is walking with us through our day. Did you

  Speaker 1: know that there can be a reality in your life?

  Speaker 1: If you've never had the experience of God walking with
• 0:23
  Speaker 1: you in your day, of God being a part of
• 0:26
  Speaker 1: your life, if you've never turned to God and said,
• 0:32
  Speaker 1: I want to be in relationship with you.
• 0:35
  Speaker 1: Do you know that you can do that right now?
• 0:37
  Speaker 1: It simply comes from a realisation that there is one
• 0:41
  Speaker 1: thing standing between you and a healthy relationship with God,
• 0:46
  Speaker 1: and that is your sin and guilt before God, that
• 0:49
  Speaker 1: you've broken His moral laws, and that is an obstacle
• 0:53
  Speaker 1: that keeps you from fellowship with Him.
• 0:57
  Speaker 1: But in spite of the fact that you can do
• 0:59
  Speaker 1: nothing about that, God has done what needed to be done.

  Speaker 1: Jesus Christ, God the Son, became a man, lived on
• 1:08
  Speaker 1: this earth, and He took our sin and guilt on
• 1:12
  Speaker 1: Himself and paid the penalty for sin when He died
• 1:16
  Speaker 1: on the cross, was separated in his relationship from God
• 1:20
  Speaker 1: the Father.
• 1:21
  Speaker 1: And then rose from the dead and offers you a
• 1:24
  Speaker 1: relationship with him today.
• 1:26
  Speaker 1: You need to just come to God and acknowledge I
• 1:29
  Speaker 1: know I've broken your moral laws.
• 1:32
  Speaker 1: But thank you for what you've done for me. I
• 1:35
  Speaker 1: receive your forgiveness through what Jesus Christ did at the cross.

  Speaker 1: Please forgive me. Enter into my life and make me
• 1:44
  Speaker 1: the person you want me to be and start a
• 1:47
  Speaker 1: daily personal relationship with me.
• 1:52
  Speaker 1: When God is in your life, then you can walk
• 1:55
  Speaker 1: through each day in fellowship with Him, not just trying
• 1:59
  Speaker 1: to do what you know God wants you to do,
• 2:01
  Speaker 1: but allowing God to work in you and through you
• 2:06
  Speaker 1: in every circumstance of your life. We're talking this week
• 2:09
  Speaker 1: about why we should obey God.
• 2:12
  Speaker 1: And today I just want to read one little verse
• 2:15
  Speaker 1: that is only 5 words. 1 Thessalonians 5:19 in the
• 2:19
  Speaker 1: Bible says, do not quench the spirit.
• 2:26
  Speaker 1: What God's saying to us in that little line is
• 2:29
  Speaker 1: that our obedience to Him makes us a person that
• 2:36
  Speaker 1: God can work through powerfully. When we disobey God, we quench,
• 2:43
  Speaker 1: that is, we put water on the fire.
• 2:47
  Speaker 1: That he is trying to light in us.
• 2:50
  Speaker 1: And God is challenging you today not to put out
• 2:52
  Speaker 1: the fire of the Holy Spirit in your life when
• 2:56
  Speaker 1: God's Spirit is wanting to do something in and through you.

  Speaker 1: DL Moody, was one of the greatest men of God
• 3:05
  Speaker 1: of a past generation, and he had a very unpleasant
• 3:08
  Speaker 1: voice to listen to. He butchered the English language. It
• 3:12
  Speaker 1: was said he couldn't even put a sentence together correctly,
• 3:15
  Speaker 1: but he was so powerfully used by God as a
• 3:18
  Speaker 1: preacher in his generation.
• 3:21
  Speaker 1: What would enable someone like him to be so powerfully
• 3:25
  Speaker 1: used by God.
• 3:27
  Speaker 1: One day when Moody was in the very early days
• 3:29
  Speaker 1: of his ministry, he visited a Bible study, and during
• 3:34
  Speaker 1: that study, the leader of the Bible study made the comment,
• 3:37
  Speaker 1: The world has yet to see what God can do
• 3:42
  Speaker 1: through one man totally yielded to Him.
• 3:47
  Speaker 1: And Dal Moody went out of that Bible study with
• 3:49
  Speaker 1: those words just ringing in his heart, and he said,
• 3:53
  Speaker 1: By the grace of God, I will be that man.
• 3:58
  Speaker 1: And the results are in history.

  Speaker 1: You know, God may not want you to be a
• 4:03
  Speaker 1: preacher or a missionary or full-time in Christian ministry, but

  Speaker 1: he does want to use you powerfully in the lives
• 4:11
  Speaker 1: of the people that your life touches on.
• 4:14
  Speaker 1: He's calling you to be that person totally yielded to him.
• 4:20
  Speaker 1: Then the fire of the Holy Spirit will blaze in
• 4:23
  Speaker 1: your life.
• 4:24
  Speaker 1: And people will come to see God at work in you.
• 4:30
