- Mid Thought Chris: What is up everybody? Good evening. Welcome to the Mythod Crisis podcast. My name is Chris. He's Eric and you are live if you happen to tune in tonight, maybe theoretically it says live in the top of my screen. Whether or not this is actually making it out into the ether is ⁓ undetermined. We have all nine phone lines open ready for you to call into the show. Mid Thought Eric: I'm Eric. We are live. We are broadcasting to the world Please call in with your questions. Yes, this is good. This is good. I'm good. I'm good. ⁓ Yeah, good times. Mid Thought Chris: ⁓ goodness, Eric, what's up buddy? How are ya? This is fun. And ask us later, hop into the chat if you are curious how long we've been planning this specific live event. Ask how long we have been planning it. I think you'll be not surprised by the answer. I think we're not surprised. Dude, okay, does this one up there mean that there's one person in here? Is that what that means? Mid Thought Eric: Yes, please do. I think they'll be not surprised. Mid Thought Chris: Studio chat. We are indeed live. I just checked. ⁓ that was that was producer Mike. He just said that that's just producer Mike saying that they've been clamoring. They have been so. Yeah. So here we are. He just checked. He said producer Mike just checked. He said he said we are indeed live. Yeah, that was me. Mid Thought Eric: Now that's just... The people have been clamoring and knocking at the door for a live episode. So here we are. Maybe it's not actually going through. Yeah. That's me. All right. So we're good. We survived another week. We survived. Mid Thought Chris: Eric how are you bud how's your week we did yeah our first our first episode with producer Mike last week I thought that was a ton of fun I think it was it was great having him it was I'll tell you what I under I under appreciated how much I would value not having to like mess around with like putting like a story up on the screen Mid Thought Eric: I think it was a hit. Hmm. Mid Thought Chris: ⁓ I mean it does it does facilitate some pretty funny moments when one of us is trying to figure that out and the other one goes you talk and then you haven't Yeah, you have to Mid Thought Eric: Yeah. I mean, kind of like, like, I feel like at least 20 % of my energy was spent with technical difficulties or trying to share my screen or why isn't this working or hey, can you hear me or I think we lost Eric or he's very blurry. I don't know if we'll come back. ⁓ Mid Thought Chris: Right. Yep. He's very blurry and it froze with him like, yeah. Mid Thought Eric: The one, but the one funny thing was two episodes ago, you were like, oh, Eric, we lost you. And I was like, no, I'm here. And so for my end and what was on the recording, apparently, nothing happened. But the whole time you're like, oh, maybe he'll come back. Maybe we'll be all right. I don't know what happened. And I'm like, hi, I'm here. What was that? Who did that? Mid Thought Chris: Right. happened. Just kept going. Eric's sitting there. There, ⁓ And we have fart noises. Producer Mike, ⁓ Mid Thought Eric: The fancier we get, the more stuff you get. All right. Mid Thought Chris: Producer Mike, I think recorded himself farting and then put it into put it into our sound effect bank. Right. Yeah, he does have a long leash right now. Do it. I think maybe we should have Eric, what do you think about like, ⁓ hey, you get X number of sound effects per episode. Anything past that? Anything past that we're going to take away from your pay. Mid Thought Eric: Mmm. That's what it was. Well, when we give him such a long leash, that's what happens. He does. I don't know man, I don't think, I don't know. I'm on that case we better make it pretty stringent because he's already getting paid a lot because I don't know about you but this thing lit pictures just flying off the shelves last week Mid Thought Chris: Yes. There is so many people just all nine lines were ⁓ were slammed last week with people trying to get a piece of those singular pictures Mid Thought Eric: I Will say it took me a good two hours to get what I did I Didn't realize how I mean we kind of touched on it the last time but I didn't realize how long ago High school was for us It was 20 it was what 10 it was well graduated 2004 right so 20 22 years Yeah Mid Thought Chris: Yeah. Yeah, 100%. You graduated in 04? Huh. Huh. Mid Thought Eric: 22 years and but back then ⁓ if you wanted to video something Mid Thought Chris: Yeah, that was a big deal. Mid Thought Eric: You were still using pretty much you were still using VHS unless you were paying. Yeah, I mean ⁓ digital cameras, digital cameras were just starting ⁓ just coming out and they were very crappy and ⁓ you know battery all that stuff wasn't the best. So yeah, like you said bazooka. I didn't realize how long ago that was. ⁓ And I was like, ⁓ I can just pull something up. Look, thinking it was on my phone or something. Mid Thought Chris: You had it over your shoulder like a freaking bazooka. Mid Thought Eric: ⁓ But yeah, I don't even know how I got the pictures I did I guess Well, I know I remember my first cell phone. I was a junior in college or junior in high school ⁓ So it was 2002 do you remember your first cell phone? Mid Thought Chris: Yeah, it was after high school because I graduated in 2002 and then my wife and I started Much later on it was like after my wife and I started dating You know, you know, I finally broke down and got a cell phone because she's like you Mid Thought Eric: Maybe mine was more like, I thought it was in high school, but maybe it was in college. Mid Thought Chris: So it was like, yeah, was like first, it was like 03 maybe. I graduated in 02, so probably like freshman year college, something like that. Mid Thought Eric: Right. Right, but even then, think about it. I mean, what was that phone you had? Like, it was just a little... Was it like... Mid Thought Chris: Uh, that was a... first phone? I think it was like a Sony Ericsson. Mid Thought Eric: You were probably texting on the like the nine digits like you were that's how you texted right? Yeah True. I don't even know if we were texting back then Mid Thought Chris: Yeah, if I texted at all, mean, the whole, there ⁓ was like a why in the world would I bother texting? Just call me, as dumb as that sounds. Mid Thought Eric: Well, you couldn't call until 9 o'clock because that's when you got the free time. Remember that? Mid Thought Chris: Yep, other than that you're blowing through minutes and you're... Mid Thought Eric: And then and then my dad would yell at me and be like, ⁓ my sprint pill is $9,000. ⁓ Because because I made a phone call at 846 and said waiting till nine o'clock. But yeah, everything was slow, everything. I guess I mean, we did have cameras back then because I got some. ⁓ But yeah, it was tough, man. It was tough growing up back then. We were in the. No, was. Think about it like think about what we lived through. Mid Thought Chris: Yes. Yes. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, it was quite the era. Yeah. Mid Thought Eric: ⁓ I saw a picture today on the socials like it was book face and ⁓ It was it was just a like an old Casio calculator like a like a just a regular calculator and it No ⁓ And it said the first the world's first computers took up like a whole room And it and it didn't even calculate as fast as that as fast as that calculator it showed like that's how slow they were Yeah Mid Thought Chris: Hmm. Not the scientific one? Okay. Not wild. That is wild. And yet, like I was thinking about this the other day, like ⁓ for the record, not for the record, but Cether came out with a new song, I think it was today. Dude, I freaking love them. this is kind of what kind of in line with what you're talking about. Like. Mid Thought Eric: Huh. Seether's great. Do you think seathers on the live? ⁓ they're they're watching live right now Hey, ⁓ shawn shawn go ahead and ⁓ if you're there give us some tips Mid Thought Chris: I think they're on the public chat right now. think they're about to tune in and... Go ahead and opine. Go ahead and opine. No, but they released a new song today and they're still just making incredible music. went out to... Yeah, a new song is called Into the Ground. ⁓ They're kind of one of the... I've got a list of like... Mid Thought Eric: ⁓ I didn't hear that. I gotta check it out. Mid Thought Chris: There are like five bands, would say, somewhere to that effect that I've been listening to for the last, I think they started somewhere around 1999. Yeah. Like 1999. This band hasn't been making incredible music for the last 20 plus years, right? 25. Mid Thought Eric: Mm-hmm. Okay, I was gonna say 2000-ish. When a lot of them did. So are they one of those did they go away for like 10 years and come back or they've been they've been together the whole time making music Because I know like the like the last five to ten years. They've been awesome and I remember back in 2000. They were awesome I don't seem to remember much from like 2010 to 2020 and maybe maybe they still were I just don't know But see they're they're awesome Mid Thought Chris: ⁓ let me, let me check. I- Yeah. I mean, 2024, 2022, 2020 to 2017. They just 20, 2014. And so, yeah, I've got like a list of like five or so bands that I've been listening to since back then. I've got Cether. I've got a band called Anberlin. Mid Thought Eric: I feel like they're really good. Yeah, so they never stopped. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mid Thought Chris: I love them, been listening to them since like probably my... Mid Thought Eric: Are they the ones that are close to here? Mid Thought Chris: you? No, they're close to me down here. ⁓ think they're from ⁓ You might be thinking... ⁓ August Bridge Red. ⁓ No, they're a little more ⁓ modern rock ⁓ alternative. Just like absolute killer band. ⁓ Seemed like incredible dudes as well. ⁓ And then like Alter Bridge. There's not too many bands that have been just absolutely making... Mid Thought Eric: Yeah. ⁓ I'm thinking of August Burdens Red. Do they sound like them at all? Cough I what saying. Mmm. Mid Thought Chris: incredible music sense there, but I mean those three in particular I think are just like Man, you look at like their body of work and how I Mean going back to what you were talking about like what life looked like back like 20 plus years ago I mean that's and then till now and like how they just make made incredible music for the entirety of that stretch is just It's it's pretty wild Yeah, 20 years, man Mid Thought Eric: Mm-hmm. Corn has been around that long. Mid Thought Chris: They took a pretty big hiatus, didn't they? Mid Thought Eric: Not really they had left But they still kept going he went and did his own stuff, but ⁓ And i'll tell you what disturbed has been out that long too and the people don't realize that ⁓ I remember ⁓ I was at my buddy's house and disturbed played Right after the super bowl. I think it was a super bowl. ⁓ it was back. I don't think they do it anymore, but Mid Thought Chris: Right. Yep. Yeah, that's fair. Yeah, that's a good point. Mid Thought Eric: Cause they came out like 98, 99, maybe 2000. don't know. But, um, back then they, from the super bowl, they cut straight to, um, one of the night shows. forget which one. Um, and they had like, it was a big deal to open up for that show after the super bowl and it had disturbed. And I remember my buddy and I were like, Whoa, these guys are awesome. And they've just been going, they grew, they've been going nonstop. Yep. Mid Thought Chris: Yeah. Somewhere in that, yeah. Hmm. Hmm. Yeah. Right. Yeah. Yeah. Still are. I just, ⁓ almost like these bands just keep getting better, which is pretty wild to watch. Mid Thought Eric: And they change, like a lot of times they change some stuff, but they still stay true to their roots. But yeah, Courtney and I saw Cether like a year ago. A year and a half ago. Yes, they were playing with Skillet in Baltimore. Cether was really good. You know what's unique about Cether? I might have told you this. You know what's unique about seeing Cether in concert? Yes, yes. Yeah, Sean Morgan's... Mid Thought Chris: Yeah, 100%. Yeah, weren't they playing with skillet, right? You're playing with skillet. Yeah Nice. Mmm Baltimore What's that? ⁓ lead singer on the left, right? Mid Thought Eric: He's on the left and he, he sings, but he doesn't, he's not really like a, ⁓ he doesn't really have like a stage present that that's most lead singers do. and you know, I, I, I was like, that's weird because I never do that. and you know, I Googled it and looked it up and stuff. And basically that's just what he's always done. He's never been, he's never one of the spotlight. He's never been a huge, ⁓ cameraman. Mid Thought Chris: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mid Thought Eric: And he's back there playing the guitar and singing and he sounds awesome But it's really confusing because the bassist I think the guy's name is Dale ⁓ The bassist is who's in the middle and he's he's acting like a lead singer He's like, you know getting the crowd involved and he's dancing and you know bassist like they always do But there's and he has a microphone. He does background vocals and stuff But yeah that that's I've never seen anything like that. I've seen a lot of bands. I've never seen like that Mid Thought Chris: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Right. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah, I like it. I like it Hey producer Mike, can you tell if there's is there somebody watching right now? Who's that? I see it dude. I see I see a one ⁓ Next to the people is that just Ken watching our producer Mike. Dang it. What the heck am I saying? Who's Ken who's Ken? pretty and slip Ken the doll What'd he say? That was me 50 Mid Thought Eric: But hey, it works. Yeah, that's unique. But. Do we have any live audience members? next to the people. But Ken, who's Ken? Ken the doll? Mid Thought Chris: What have you done? Not me. What? No, no, it's not Ken. It's ruined! No, it's producer Mike. Sorry, producer Mike. Is that just you watching the live show or I can't tell what that number one means. If you are live or if you are watching, show yourself! Comment in the live chat! Mid Thought Eric: What have you done? The whole thing's ruined! This has been ruined! Alright. Yeah. Nobody is here. Show yourself! Who goes there? You got through the... You got through the picket line. They're like, ⁓ no! Like, what's his name in the bushes with the binoculars? Mid Thought Chris: Dude, is that just producer Mike? I can't tell. And they're gone, they left. They're onto me! That's so good. Mid Thought Eric: Alright, well our first live episode so far has not come to bear a lot of fruit, if you will. ⁓ Mid Thought Chris: You I think it's bared a ton of fruit. We're already 15 minutes in and ⁓ we're getting our recording ready to go for Wednesday and there was one person that just got scared and left and they ghosted us. No one's here? What are you talking about? They slip into the bushes? Yes. I will say... Mid Thought Eric: Getting it ready to go They were they ghosted us or no they were afraid we'd ghost them That's Homer Homer into the bushes So ⁓ anyways ⁓ Mid Thought Chris: ⁓ I mean the thing that's been overwhelmingly in my thoughts today is the legend that just... ⁓ Mid Thought Eric: Ahhhh... Remember the silence. and break. Mid Thought Chris: And break. Here's to you, He'd probably be upset that I'm having this, but yeah. He was an incredible human being. ⁓ Truly lost a legend today, but lived an incredible life, incredible dude, and he will be sorely missed. Yeah. Mid Thought Eric: He was what, like 86? Yeah. All the Chuck Norris memes, jokes. Mid Thought Chris: ⁓ I've hey that is I don't have any ⁓ Little bit of news all of the nonsense the only thing I brought today was some Chuck Norris jokes I think it's only it's only right it's only right and I'm not sure if we're too early to jump into that but I think I Think we are there ⁓ Mid Thought Eric: Ooh. No, we're there. Go ahead, man. You're there. Mid Thought Chris: Ready? Here we go. What if we just spent the next 20 minutes reading off Chuck Norris jokes? Anyway. I can't get any worse. ⁓ man, Chuck Norris doesn't wear a watch. He decides what time it is. ⁓ Chuck Norris can't turn left because he's always right. Chuck Norris doesn't read books. He stares them down until he gets the information he wants. Mid Thought Eric: I'm ready. I can't go any worse. Mmm. Mm-hmm. I what saying. Mid Thought Chris: Norris doesn't tip the waiter the waiter tips him ⁓ Chuck Norris tears cure cancer too bad. He's never cried ⁓ Chuck Norris doesn't own a stove oven or microwave because revenge is a dish best served cold Time waits for no man unless that man is Chuck Norris ⁓ Mid Thought Eric: Mm-hmm. That was good. I like that one. Yes. Mid Thought Chris: When Chuck and this is the last one that I'll read Chuck Norris. ⁓ Where'd it Left when Chuck Norris left home. He told his father you're the man of the house now. That's it. This is so good. Mid Thought Eric: ⁓ That's pretty good. The only thing I heard was that Chuck Norris actually didn't die. He just went down to kick the devil's butt. Mid Thought Chris: Yeah, and he just took a nap. He's just sleeping. ⁓ But in all seriousness, not a seriousness though. ⁓ Truly an incredible human being. Yeah. Mid Thought Eric: What do you like most about Chuck Norris? ⁓ Mid Thought Chris: ⁓ Death once had a near Chuck Norris experience. That's great. I love that. Thank you, Producer Mike, for that. Would you say Eric? Mid Thought Eric: What do you like most about, what are your fondest memories of Chuck Norris? Mid Thought Chris: Don't know about you, but when I was in high school, there was a little show called Walker, Texas Ranger ⁓ And I used Like I think he was even he even ⁓ sang on that theme song He even sang on that theme song right the eyes or I don't know he might have spoke it But the I like yeah the eyes of the Ranger or upon you. Yeah Yeah, it's just a great show a lot of fond memories as a kid. Yeah Mid Thought Eric: Yes. Yep. That was a great show. Did he really? Huh. Mid Thought Chris: Watching that yeah, how about you? What do you got? Mid Thought Eric: ⁓ Just him and Jackie Chan All day every day and more recently just the Chuck Norris jokes, of course Yeah, What else are we saying today was What else was today you said something else earlier Chester Chester's birthday Chester Bennington from Lickapark Mid Thought Chris: Yeah. Yep. Yep. Great. Yeah man. Alright brother. His birthday today. Mid Thought Eric: Do you know how old he would have been? Mid Thought Chris: I don't. ⁓ Mid Thought Eric: So, of bands, that's another one that came out in like right around that same early 2000 timeframe. And I hated them. I hated them. I hate, just, there was something about, there was something about the way like Mike Shinoda was always singing over Chester. And then like the DJ thing they were doing to me, like it just, Mid Thought Chris: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Did you really? How do you hate me, bruh? Mid Thought Eric: It sounded to me. just sounded weird. I never liked it. But but I kept an open mind like a mature person like I am. And they grew on me and I don't know. I don't know. I don't know if it was me or they got more into like. Mid Thought Chris: That you are, yep. Mid Thought Eric: It's funny because when he first started off, at least in my impression of them, I could be wrong, but my impression of them was they were more alternative and more like ⁓ red hot chili peppers. ⁓ And then they ended up more, they ended up more hard and they ended up doing some ballads and like some slower stuff. And that's, that's when they really grew on me. And then of course, when he died, ⁓ I realized all the newer stuff they had and it was like one more light is an awesome song. ⁓ That song is just like one of my favorites. You know what talking about? You know what saying? Mid Thought Chris: I do know what you're saying. ⁓ Producer Mike just said he would have been 50, which is wild. ⁓ Yeah. I don't know about today. Did you say today was his birthday? Mid Thought Eric: Ah, he would have been 50 today. Hmm. I think you said that. Mid-Thought Chris, said... Chris... Mid Thought Chris: I do not say that. I did not say it was Chester's birthday today. ⁓ Producer Mike said that. ⁓ So yeah, you can thank Producer Mike for that. I did not say that. Mid Thought Eric: No, you said it before he even came online when we were there earlier. You're like, you know who else is it is? Mid Thought Chris: producer Mike said that he said that to you, mid-thought Eric. Mid Thought Eric: That was Mike. Yes. Too many people in the chat. I'm getting confused. Yeah, I was like, somebody told me something about Chester. ⁓ So Chris, that might explain a little bit of why you were looking at me like, what are you talking about? ⁓ Yeah. Mid Thought Chris: It was like too many people in the chat. ⁓ All nine lines are filled. The heck was that, did we just get hacked? Yeah, I had no idea. Mid Thought Eric: Yes, ⁓ just so you know, today would have been Chester Bainton's 50th birthday, Mid Thought Chris: today would have been Chester's birthday. Let's, Producer Mike, do know how old he would have been? Mid Thought Eric: This is how well we recover on the show. Mid Thought Chris: This is great, I love it. ⁓ Yeah, Chester. Yeah man, sweet. You, 50 dollar. Producer Mike. Mid Thought Eric: ⁓ so anyways, ⁓ funny story Already where'd that come from? ⁓ so here's a funny story, ⁓ so I don't know i'm kind of telling them myself Yes real life. ⁓ So here's how far I I tend to like keep things too long, you know i'm saying ⁓ Mid Thought Chris: ⁓ what do you got? Funny story? Is this, is this from real life? Real life funny story. I'm here for it. Uh, are you like a hoarder? I wouldn't call you a hoarder. I don't think you're a hoarder. Not a hoarder! Mid Thought Eric: Not there yet. No, I'm not a hoarder. No, ⁓ but Not not not look look ⁓ My wife McCourtney she used to so right now she drives a sexy minivan ⁓ Yes, but before that she used to drive a Jeep Patriot number those Mid Thought Chris: There's this stuff! It's all throughout your house! Hmm the harder Odyssey I do. I don't remember... Was this before we met? Was this BC? Was this before Chris? Heh. Heh. That was dumb. Okay. Okay. Mid Thought Eric: Yes. ⁓ Yes, yes it was. So she had, ⁓ yeah, cause we got the Odyssey in 19, 2019, no 18, 2018 and you and I fell in the, I mean, got together in 2019. ⁓ yes. So anyways, so she had this GP trip, which she got in, I want to say 2000. If she were here on the live studio, she could correct me, but I think. Mid Thought Chris: Okay. Okay. We started hanging out. We fell in love. Mm. Mid Thought Eric: She got it around like circa 2006. Mid Thought Chris: Circa 2006, okay? Mid Thought Eric: Yeah. then, so back then, what was the big thing in cars to listen to? Mid Thought Chris: CDs. Mid Thought Eric: Yes, and what did everybody have in their car for the CDs? Mid Thought Chris: the little thing on the visor. Mid Thought Eric: Yes, thank you. ⁓ Yes, so we had a little, it's a little, for all of you out there, younger than what, 30, 25, 20. ⁓ Mid Thought Chris: I too am old. 35 I doubt producer Mike had any of those cuz he's like He's like 25 isn't he producer Mike. How old are you? Producer Mike, aren't you like 25? He's not 30 Just kidding, but I know you're ⁓ 36 ⁓ Mid Thought Eric: 25 He's at least 30 36 right Producer Mike did you ever have the visor full of CDs I? I deaf did he's being so shy he can you can talk produce a mic deaf did ⁓ Okay But that was those I mean the first I remember back in like 2000 ish The really cool thing to do you had a big giant binder of them or whatever that was Mid Thought Chris: He ⁓ he definitely did apparently. He he he deaf did he deaf did. I like how he he types in shorthand. No. 100%. Like the book, it was like this big. Yeah, 100%. Mid Thought Eric: Yeah, those things were like 80 bucks back then. And you could fit like 130 CDs in there. Mid Thought Chris: and each CD would have been $17. And that was like, yeah, not today's money. hey, producer Mike, can you do some quick math for us? in today's money, what would $17 have been in 2000? Can you do some math for us? Can you figure that out for us? That'd be great. Continue, keep going, ⁓ Mitt.Eric. So the big thing was a book. Mid Thought Eric: Yes, I'm back in that money not today's money Yeah. ⁓ So anyways, alright, so yeah, the book was the best, but the visor was in Courtney's Jeep Patriot. Mid Thought Chris: That was like, ⁓ hey, need this, I need to be agile and I need to grab this real quick, you know? Mid Thought Eric: Yes, because the G-Patriot, that had state of the art technology, it still had a five disc CD changer in it. Five discs, yeah. Nope. No, straight up in the dash. Mid Thought Chris: State of the art five days. Was that was that the one that you grabbed from the trunk and you put the five? In the dash that would have that's that's a huge deal Mid Thought Eric: He says 32 producer Mike says $32. All right, so in yeah. Mid Thought Chris: Dovers. So today's money that did he just pull that number out of his free render? Do think he actually did some research that seems like that seems like it's pretty researched? That seems like it's pretty well researched. I yeah, I think so. All right, continue G Patriot. The story you keep trying to get to like 10 times. Mid Thought Eric: No, he definitely did. We pay him to be accurate. Yeah, we pay him to be accurate So what well there you go everybody who went to F? Everybody who went to FYE in the mall back in 2000. What did we say for? and paid 2004 was early 2000s Was that our first fight Mid Thought Chris: Mmm. No, we said early 2000s. Huh? Okay, okay, okay. FYE! I know what you're saying. Mid Thought Eric: their first disagreement. Anyways, all right. So you paid set. Look, look, there's a store. It was called FYE. It meant for your entertainment. OK, we talked about malls in the early episodes. So you went there and you bought a $17 CD. Well, now, if you were if you were to do that same act, it would be $32. Mid Thought Chris: We did. Go back and listen. $32 today's money. Daurus. Mid Thought Eric: for one CD that had like 10 tracks on it. Mid Thought Chris: One CD. Oh, you were so pissed if it had anything less than like 14 songs. Mid Thought Eric: But think about it. about that. So today, if you pay $32 just say for like an Amazon ⁓ premium music membership, you're like, well, that's so expensive, right? Mid Thought Chris: $32. Yeah. unlimited music anybody you want to listen to Mid Thought Eric: You can get whatever in heck you want at the like you could search for and boom it's there. You don't have to get a CD or anything. So I think we're spoiled now. They blame inflation but we're just we've just gotten ahead of the game. Mid Thought Chris: Yeah. We are spoiled and I will save. I will say the artists are truly kind of getting hosed. ⁓ you think they're okay? ⁓ Mid Thought Eric: I think they're OK. The original artist that got hosed was Metallica when we were ripping all their stuff off Napster. Mid Thought Chris: ⁓ Napster and Limewire. I mean, I got 47 viruses on my family computer, but, do you remember? Yes. I mean, do you remember the kind of crap that would be on your computer at that point after you downloaded that stuff? Like your computer was never the same. Mid Thought Eric: Remember in Apsher it was like that alien thing with the headphones? ⁓ man. Yeah, but half the time you didn't even realize it though because it was always slow. So it was just slower than usual. Now you get a virus like, wait, Eric looks blurry. Hey, hey, guess what? I have defeated. I've defeated the limitations of my Xfinity. I have. Mid Thought Chris: Yeah, 100%. And you had like, you had like pop-ups. Oh wait, that's because he spends $1,000 on Xfinity and what? Dude, you are insanely clear. I can hear you. I can understand you. Absolutely not. I think producer much. Mid Thought Eric: The bunker is top notch. Did somebody join? that what that is? Ching. Is that supposed to be a money thing? Or is somebody waiting for service? It's like the old hotel. Chris, control yourself. Did you have Taco Bell again? Mid Thought Chris: That's... Yes! jeez! Did you have time? No, I had chicken tenders. Get it right! Mid Thought Eric: Oh, chicken tenders. So anyways, yes, I still haven't finished my story, it. Mid Thought Chris: So look, there's this cheap Cherokee. Sorry, I was way off. So crappy. Mid Thought Eric: It was a patriot. It was so crappy they don't make them anymore. But we had a state of the art 5 CD changer at the tip of your fingertips in the dashboard. Mid Thought Chris: Tip of your fingertips. Not the mid part of your fingertips, the tip. Mid Thought Eric: Yeah, and ⁓ so the moral of the story is, or I guess the whole point of this story, no, just the tip. So there was, look, there was this sleeve and the visor, okay, when we got rid of that car and we got the Honda Odyssey. What did we do? What did, what did Eric do? I moved everything that was in that car into the Honda Odyssey that we didn't need. Okay. We cleaned it out. Look, we threw all the stuff away. We didn't need, but the CDs, you know, in 2018, still a CD player and DVD player, know? Um, so, so that visor, I've been known to me, I'm saying by the, what is it? This, the sleeve CD thing, um, unbeknownst to me, Mid Thought Chris: Over. Mm. Yeah, it's right up on the visor. Mid Thought Eric: was kept for all those years and it was in the ⁓ it was in the back the like the passenger side sliding door like inside the little compartment thing and ⁓ my 10 year old Brody last week happened to find he found it and he he did he was like what are these things and he had no idea what it was Mid Thought Chris: Wow. Yeah, yeah. What are these things, Dad? No idea. Never seen it before in its life. Mid Thought Eric: So I felt very old and I well first I was confused because I forgot about the whole I was confused. Well first I felt old old old back to our first episode Mid Thought Chris: You felt very what? Ode. First episode. I want him to say it. What he no she she heard somebody familiar because that's how she talks. Mid Thought Eric: Hailey's like, what? I felt oohed. She's like, he's from my homeland. I felt old. Old? Odd. Odd. And I was a bit confused because I forgot it was even in there. And then I had to explain to him, hey, that's how we listen to music. Mid Thought Chris: It's the homeland. That's better. Code. Code. What is happening? This is like a 20 minute story. I love this so much. He's like, wait, don't you just hit the Spotify app? Mid Thought Eric: At the tip at the tip of the fingertips ⁓ But yeah, so that's so yes, she still has like 30 CDs right around the Odyssey for all these years Mid Thought Chris: Just the tip. Mid Thought Eric: And then I checked guess what I did next I Checked I checked my car My expedition I had my own sleeve from my previous car Because my so my my expeditions are 2014 so it still has CD like it so as a c player So yeah, I was using it Mid Thought Chris: What'd you do next? Your car, your expedition, did you have it in there too? Uh-uh. So... Right. So can I can I guess what CDs were in your sleeve. Yeah. Yours. Can I guess. Do you remember. Do you remember what was in your sleeve. I'm going to guess Ricky Martin. ⁓ I'm going to guess a little bit of in sync probably. Right. Yeah definitely. Mid Thought Eric: In my sleeve or Courtney's sleeve? Mm-hmm. Yeah...ish. Nailed it! Livin' a vida loca! Definitely. Yep. Mid Thought Chris: Nah, just playing. Yeah. Sweet. Hey, producer Mike, who do you think would have been in his Spice Girls? Yep, exactly. Exactly. Exactly. See, he knows it just right off the right off the tip of his tongue. It's just right there. Ready to go. It's it's like he's been listening to them for years. Mid Thought Eric: Yeah, so anyways. Spice Girls. If you want to be my lover, you gotta get with my friends. Right off the tip. in the backstreet boys fo' show Mid Thought Chris: never, yeah. Mid Thought Eric: ⁓ Yeah, so let's keep let's keep this train rolling ⁓ So I had ⁓ I had one I already touched on actually two of our memories our show memories ⁓ We did Haley with the no or old old it was old It was old What was the other thing I already forget I was like we talked about this earlier, but anyways Mid Thought Chris: Let's go. Show memories, okay? Yeah, I want him to say it. Yeah, so great. Old code. Hmm, producer Mike, what was it? Producer Mike, think was, he might've been our only listener and we hired him. So now we don't have any listeners left. For a high price. Mid Thought Eric: We did hire him for a high price. ⁓ His resume was the best out of all the qualified candidates. Mid Thought Chris: out of all the qualified candidates. Mid Thought Eric: ⁓ Shoot I circled back to something Anyways, it doesn't matter. It's neither here or there look ⁓ I have another ⁓ Listen the chicken. just can't get enough chicken, okay? Fried chicken, I can't get enough everything. I look everything. I see there's something more Mid Thought Chris: You circle back. Neither here nor there. Look! Can't get enough chicken. It's a reoccurring theme. I see it everywhere. There's fried chicken everywhere. And chicken tenders or chicken sandwiches, right? Mid Thought Eric: there's something more fried chicken. So let's pull up. What? Mid Thought Chris: Is that what you're saying? Or just like... Mid Thought Eric: all of it. So I found another my little bit of news. Mid Thought Chris: All of it. All right. And a whole lot of nonsense. Mid Thought Eric: Was ⁓ it just kept leading me down memory lane ⁓ So, ⁓ let's see producer mike if you could pull up there it is look at that So this this article combines two of our last Our last things fried chicken. Yeah fried chicken and lottery winnings Mid Thought Chris: Hmm. Two of our last things. Mid Thought Eric: Okay, so a Maryland man, it's always Maryland. I don't know why that is, but I guess that's because where I'm close to there. But, ⁓ there was a Maryland man that had, he said, I want some fried chicken. And he went to, royal farms, overrated, royal farms in, tastes like crap. ⁓ he wanted, ⁓ royal first too much grease. me. Mid Thought Chris: haha What was it you just said? You got something in your throat there bud? Mid Thought Eric: Yes, ⁓ it was ⁓ a chicken bone from my boneless chicken that's stuck in my... No, because it doesn't work. I'm not even going to try. Look, the chicken companies have... the chicken groups have the judges in their back pocket. Yes, because all the lawsuits don't lead anywhere. Big chicken! Mid Thought Chris: Are you about to sue somebody? It doesn't work. People keep striking out. The chicken lobby have the judges in their back pockets. Big Chicken has this world by the shortened curlies. I don't think I could say that. Curly fries. Mid Thought Eric: But this is this is okay ⁓ curly fries yes ⁓ But this has nothing to do about a lawsuit yet. I don't know But a guy is a Maryland. He's like hey, I really want some of that Royal Farms fried chicken ⁓ So he went there AC and T is the best chicken by far Yeah, like like ⁓ Mid Thought Chris: Yeah. Who would you prefer to Royal Farms? We're just talking standard fried chicken. Your standard fried chicken, you're going to go to a gas station. Mid Thought Eric: ⁓ Hold on first of all you didn't you didn't qualify the question I thought we were talking about gas stations because it's comparing it to royal farms ⁓ Mid Thought Chris: holding on. Okay, I Swear that I think that's one of the more interesting aspects about the Northeast that I just you don't see other countries in the country where there's like there's like ⁓ There's like a massive attachment to gas stations to where like gas stations are regarded as like like kind of significant sources of food and you know food options Mid Thought Eric: I Yeah, well, they've evolved. mean, my sheets is my jam. I'm a true Pennsylvanian. I have sheets. Mid Thought Chris: I I understand. mean, I've been, you know, I've been, I've been hungry. I've been. Mid Thought Eric: But they've really, mean, to call them a gas station, used to be, it used to be that Sheetz was a gas station with food. Now they're, now they're food with a gas station, really. I mean, Mid Thought Chris: Yeah. I mean, I've been hungry at two in the morning too and been absolutely desperate and like nothing else has been out there. Mid Thought Eric: Not just two in the morning sheets has some good stuff Hey Steve sheets if you're listening ⁓ You can be our sixth non sponsor sponsor and first live chat participant ⁓ Please join the show He's up there in Altoona Altoona PA ⁓ Anyways this guy goes to royal farms because he wants chicken Mid Thought Chris: These sheets. 6-1 El tuna Continue, sorry, so a CNT is better though, Mid Thought Eric: Oh yeah, for fried chicken, gas station, they're the best. But they're a lot smaller. mean, rural farms is, they're probably like 400 of those, 300 of those, and AC &T has like 30. Mid Thought Chris: And they're prim- are they primarily in like Baltimore area? I mean this is from where Maryland- Mid Thought Eric: Rural farms, ⁓ they're in Delaware. They're all over Delaware. Mid Thought Chris: Are they in Pennsylvania at all? Is there many in Pennsylvania? Okay, a little bit, a little bit. Southern VA. Mid Thought Eric: A little bit, not much. Just southern PA. ⁓ But yeah, world farms is all over like Delaware, ⁓ Maryland, Northern Virginia. Whoa, look at all these ads are everywhere. ⁓ Anyways, yeah, get some Adobe. There you go. Adobe Acrobat is a non-sponsor sponsor. Mid Thought Chris: Yeah. Okay. Yeah. All over. Mid Thought Eric: They're all over our stuff. Anyways, look, there's this guy. He goes to get chicken and he buys a lottery ticket and he wins, what is that, $10,000? Mid Thought Chris: Touch the sky. $50? What? Mid Thought Eric: ⁓ no, he won a million. He won a million dollar prize. So I just wanted to... this article really isn't that important other than it touches on some of our previous stories of ⁓ lottery winnings and fried chicken. Mid Thought Chris: ⁓ man. Mmm. So go back up. Mid Thought Eric: So there you go. Mid Thought Chris: go all the way back up producer Mike if you don't mind what is that title holy crap yeah Maryland man's fried chicken craving least chip that is too funny so he goes in there for fried chicken he's like what the heck I'll get a lottery ticket comes out with a million dollars and he's already spent it on fried chicken from bro farms Mid Thought Eric: ⁓ Adobe paid a lot of money for this. Yeah, it was just a scratch off too, so I don't know how much he paid for it. I didn't really read the whole, like, I didn't read it word for word. Mid Thought Chris: Have you ever heard about somebody who won the lottery and actually ended up like, you know, living out the rest of their life okay? Mid Thought Eric: No, in fact, they're all crap shows. Crap shoots. They all fall apart. Mid Thought Chris: So unfortunate, right? Like I've never heard of a, I've never heard a good story out on the other side of like a lottery winning. Mid Thought Eric: I think if you were to, and I'm not telling producer Mike to Google this, I think if ⁓ all the people out there were to Google this and look at like the top lottery winnings of the, what is it, Mega Millions or Powerball or whatever, ⁓ none of them ended up well. Mid Thought Chris: think you might be. Hmm. Yeah. What do you think has led to that? Mid Thought Eric: I know what led to that. Mid Thought Chris: What is it? Mid Thought Eric: I Cracked the code You're like what is it? You get you get to the point where you have so much money that you didn't earn okay, it's one thing to burn it or have it like Even like pass down to you from generations. That's kind of like 5050 right like if Well yeah, but if you have I Mean if you have a family Mid Thought Chris: He cracked the code. Why does that never go well? Mm. even trust on kids. Mid Thought Eric: business or whatever. feel like it's 50 % you're either going to be a complete lazy bum and not care or you're really going to appreciate that. Yeah, so that at least has some background. If you earn your money, you're going to do well. The people who win the lottery didn't earn that, so it just changes their whole life. Right, Mid Thought Chris: Yeah, you're gonna keep it going. Mid Thought Eric: ⁓ And a lot of things happen one of the things is all their friends and family all these people come out of the woodwork And they're like they're like yeah, and so they think they're owed something ⁓ So it changes relationships Literally at the family level. I mean, it's very very close at that point And it also makes you just have no concept of right and wrong no concept of responsibility no concept of earning anything again, and they all to a tee Mid Thought Chris: No, no, no, Yeah. Hmm. Mid Thought Eric: ⁓ tend to just lose all sense of responsibility and they either go broke or they become addicts because they want more right they're like ⁓ money is no longer an issue so what's the next thing right they want they want that next thing so yeah it's it never works Mid Thought Chris: Hmm. Yeah, yeah I mean, what does that suggest about the moral compass of an individual before that? I mean, does that just, like, you don't think it matters? So if somebody has a decent moral compass beforehand, you think they just completely lose it? Mid Thought Eric: I don't think it matters. I mean... Well, I don't I mean, yes, it does matter to an extent. I think that if you're talking about somebody who doesn't really ⁓ look at money, somebody who's not driven by money to start with, like, you know, like a missionary or somebody who's like, you know, I look at like simple people. Yeah, no, no. ⁓ But, you know, like really. Mid Thought Chris: Hmm. Yeah. Or like you. You Mid Thought Eric: Don't know like I don't know if it's a stereotype or whatever but like really devout Christians or even like Mennonites or somebody like that like people who don't They don't treasure my like their treasure is not money Whoever that may be Mid Thought Chris: Yeah, they have a they have like an attitude of service right like their their their life their life is about yeah their life and their mission their their job and life is to You know serve somebody else is less inward focused and more like hey, I have this, know, you know inner ⁓ Responsibility to serve somebody else. My life is not just about my own. Yeah Mid Thought Eric: Yeah, their compass is pointing somewhere else. Yeah, those people don't necessarily care about money, but here's the thing, those people aren't the ones playing the lottery. And if they were to win the lottery, or you were to give them a lottery ticket or whatever, if they were to win a lot of money, I think those people would be okay, because they'd end up giving a lot of it away, or they'd, you know, they'd be okay. Mid Thought Chris: Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah Or they just pay off the house and you know, just kind of like you wouldn't you'd probably never hear from him again. Yeah Mid Thought Eric: Yeah, but you're looking at you're looking at probably 10 % of population at that point. but, know, unfortunately, and I've seen, I can't speak to like research or science, but I've seen trends where people who play the lottery and are most likely to buy lottery tickets are the ones who, ⁓ don't have a, don't really value money for what it is. They're always chasing the next dollar. So they're the ones at the casino. They're ones buying larger tickets. So they're the ones that when they get the money, they don't know how to handle it. Right? And it consumes them and it ruins them. So I think I would say like probably 80 to 90 percent of people who would win that amount of money don't know to handle it. Mid Thought Chris: Interesting thoughts, Mitt.Eric. Mid Thought Eric: Look at how deep we went. Mid Thought Chris: Look at, look at, what did you say last week? I'm rolling up my pant, pant sleeves or something. Pant legs, there it is. Mid Thought Eric: Mmm. Yes, my pant legs. Yeah. Yep Rollin them up ⁓ but I will say Where I used to live in ⁓ In my previous house before this one ⁓ the guy lived across the street for me won a million dollars at the local gas station Mid Thought Chris: Rollin' ⁓ up. Mm-hmm. Uh-uh. Uh-uh. How'd that go? Mid Thought Eric: off a scratch off. He seemed fine. ⁓ Here's the thing, a million dollars isn't life changing. I mean it is, but you can't stop working because here's the thing, they're going to take, they're going to tax the crap out of that. So you're looking at, ⁓ right. And the million dollars is the one where if you win a million dollars, that's if you take it in like equal installments for 40 years. Okay. So I think Mid Thought Chris: Yeah? No, I'm Yeah, 100%. You're probably getting a half of that. You're probably getting half of that. Yep. Yep. Yep. Mid Thought Eric: I know because it's always it's so when you do that it was like seven yeah so he took it up front he took it up to 50 um he took it up front i want to say it was like 700 and then after taxes you're looking at 350 so um look you're gonna pay off your house right you're gonna do some things but you're not you can't really stop working you can't do like you can't Mid Thought Chris: You take it all up front. It's probably even less. So you're probably down to like You're probably down to like 250 Tree fiddy, tree fiddy. Hmm. Yeah. Mid Thought Eric: That's not it's life-changing. Yes, but it's not gonna like radically alter What you do on a daily basis you got it. You're not gonna last the rest of your life off of that So yes, that's a lot of money But yeah, but he lived he lived right right across the street from me So I think I'm not totally sure but I think cuz I wasn't really that close with him I didn't know him that well, but I think what they did Mid Thought Chris: Yeah, 100%. Mid Thought Eric: was they paid off their house, they paid off their cars. They were like in their 40s, maybe 50. They paid off their cars, paid off their house. ⁓ I think the rest of it they kept for medical expenses because they both smoked like dragons. ⁓ They did, they just smoked nonstop. So it doesn't matter how much money you have at that point, right? Mid Thought Chris: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah. That smells like dragons. Yeah, I know what you're saying. Mid Thought Eric: So anyways, yes, the chicken place and the lottery and then there's one other story I had that circled back. Do you remember ⁓ a few early, one of the earlier episodes I shared the story about the raccoon breaking into the liquor store? Okay, well I have another raccoon story. Here's a raccoon who got his... Mid Thought Chris: I'm here for it. Yes. I love it. I love raccoon stories. Raccoon gets head stuck in peanut butter jar climbs tree. It's so random Mid Thought Eric: You So the emergency personnel were called to this house. Apparently this raccoon went nuts and didn't know what to do. So it just like went up in a tree and hid. Right. ⁓ So, yes. So ⁓ one of our earlier episodes, there was a raccoon that broke into a liquor store, ⁓ shattered some of the bottles, consumed some of the bottles, and then passed out drunk in the bathroom. Yeah. So this one was after peanut butter. Mid Thought Chris: He climbs a tree! Got hammered. Mid Thought Eric: I could see my old dog doing this. Jackson would definitely do this. In fact, he's on so much medication right now that we have to use peanut butter as like we have to give it to him. Mid Thought Chris: You're, Jackson would 100 % do this. How many pills is he taking? Mid Thought Eric: He is on four in the morning and no he's on three in the morning and four at night Mid Thought Chris: Whoo! Mid Thought Eric: So what we do is we put it in his food and he'll he'll he'll sometimes eat all of it in his food Sometimes he'll leave like two or three and then what he leaves we give it to him with peanut butter He hasn't figured out yet that if he didn't eat any of it in his food. He'd get all of it in peanut butter ⁓ But he does like if he gets if he catches it and he's like, ⁓ that's a pill he'll spit it out ⁓ So anyways, yes, he yeah, so Mid Thought Chris: know what you're saying. Mid Thought Eric: They love peanut butter, this raccoon loved peanut butter, he got his head stuck in it, he went berserk, he climbed this tree, and I guess he was like spazzing out up there and making noises, because the people who lived there called for the fire department, and it was like, hey, there's this crazy raccoon up in this tree. And yeah, so upon arrival, the crews located the raccoon approximately 25 feet in a tree and appeared to have had a little too much luck finding this peanut butter. Mid Thought Chris: Hehehehehe He's rabid. Mid Thought Eric: but not quite enough luck removing the actual container afterwards. So they reached the raccoon's position. They were able to use a snare, a snare to pull the jar from its head, restoring the raccoon's vision and to some extent its dignity. Yeah. So the last sentence, the last sentence there says that no injuries were reported aside from a notable decrease in the raccoon's pride. Mid Thought Chris: ⁓ my gosh. Hmm. That is great. I love that Seriously. ⁓ that's great. Mid Thought Eric: So yes, ⁓ these were stories that I found within the last few days. And I said, ⁓ we're going to circle back to previous themes. Yes, previous themes from our stuff. So there it is. Mid Thought Chris: Yeah, love that. previous ones. Love that. Love it. That's awesome, man. That is awesome. Mid Thought Eric: Yeah, that's good. did we learn from this that when we went live, nobody joined us? Is that what happened? Mid Thought Chris: I think people hopped in and hopped out. mean, but tip. Mid Thought Eric: Allegedly. That's what it is. They hopped in and out. Mid Thought Chris: They hopped in and out, but here's the thing, we ⁓ put this out ⁓ like 10 minutes ago, yeah, it was like a test. It was like, hey, could this work? Yeah. Mid Thought Eric: This was just a test. This was just a test. We didn't advertise for this. We didn't put anything into it. We were just going to surprise the audience. Mid Thought Chris: Yeah, Surprised the wide swaths of people that are tuning in. And I think, I don't know, it's been fun. It's a good time, yeah. It's been real fun. All right, man. I mean, this is a little bit shorter than normal, but I'm fine. Are you good? Are you good? What else you got? Mid Thought Eric: It's been fun. It's been real fun. It's been real and it's been fun. It's been real fun. All right, that's good. No, it's just laughing at what you said, that's all. ⁓ Nothing? Mid Thought Chris: What did I say? ⁓ he's got... is that Willy Wonka? Mid Thought Eric: You said it's just a little bit shorter than normal, but I'm fine with that. Mid Thought Chris: I think it was. Mid Thought Eric: And I couldn't help but chuckle. ⁓ we got producer Mike. Main appearance. Mid Thought Chris: There it is! Producer Mike! Welcome to the show. Alright, Producer Mike, don't you dare go away. He's here. Mid Thought Eric: He's here. Nobody's seen him before. He wasn't in any previous episodes. Mid Thought Chris: Not on any previous episodes under different names whatsoever. Producer Michael, welcome to the show. How has your first week on staff at the mid thought crisis? ⁓ he stopped recording. He stopped recording. If you stopped recording, why are you still there? Mid Thought Eric: First day of the job. ⁓ I'm payroll. So good. Why still going? Mid Thought Chris: Why did it he's gone? I think we lost him. I don't know. It said producer Mike has stopped recording. It says it says they were still going. So hopefully he comes back in because I really wanted to ask him. Hey, static there, bud. You're staticky. Mid Thought Eric: Are we good? What happened? Are we still here? It's still ticking. All right, we'll just... Hey, we need to show... Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, now he's... I thought it was a special effect. I thought it was like spraying a fire hose or something. Mid Thought Chris: You are very staticky. We cannot hear you. You're gonna have to leave and then come back in. It's not Eric! Producer Mike, you gotta get out and get back in. Get out! He kicked him out. Even though... Mid Thought Eric: Who? What? It's not me for once. It's not me. I'm good. Get out! You! We kicked him out. We're not doing that! Mid Thought Chris: I think he chooses when he wants to leave or go. ⁓ leave her. It's already ruined. You can't ruin it even more. Mid Thought Eric: You can't ruin our top-notch quality here. We have an esteemed reputation. ⁓ Hey, do you want to show? We got to show the guy. We got to your little gnome. We got to give him... What is his name? We got to give him a name. ⁓ there he is. He's back. I think we should name him Ken. We should name him Ken. Mid Thought Chris: Bull NOM! Producer Mike: Is that any better? What? Can you hear me? Hey, there we go. Mid Thought Chris: Should we give him a name? Hey, he's back. Hey, producer Mike, what should his name be? Should we name this guy Ken? Producer Mike: That would be funny actually. I like that idea. Hi Ken. Hi Ken. Mid Thought Chris: That would I think his name is Ken this is Ken His name is Ken. It's the little guy his name is Ken. We got we got a little fool all the way around Where did this guy I know? ⁓ Myth of Eric I know this came from you, but where do you think his he originated from? Is he like one of a kind? Mid Thought Eric: It's Ken. It's just Ken. Producer Mike: full 360. Mid Thought Eric: Heh. So somebody at work gave it to me because, believe it or not, that was in one of our offices at work. And we had this big inspection coming up. And there was like a general or somebody coming around. And they're like, you need to check your spaces for something that's inappropriate, OK, because you need to act professional. And so he gave that to me. Mid Thought Chris: Okay. Hmm. Mid Thought Eric: And he's like, I need to get this out of here. And then he left. He went somewhere else. He said, just keep it. That's my gift to you. So that's how I ended up with it. Mid Thought Chris: Number one, there's probably a bug in it. Keep it. Producer Mike: Hahaha Mid Thought Chris: And then that's how I ended up with it. Mid Thought Eric: Yes, and you got some other things. You got a... Mid Thought Chris: I do this this over here ⁓ my youngest daughter this right here is a boat made out of like cardboard and sticks made by my ⁓ youngest daughter I know I don't want to move it because I'll break it Mid Thought Eric: We can only see half of it. You might want to bring it up front. ⁓ look at that. We're full screen now. Look how big you just got, Chris. Mid Thought Chris: What is happening? I can't see anything. It's just a black screen in the middle. It's clear to you. I'm glad it's clear to you. So I can't see where I'm pointing. Mid Thought Eric: It's clear to me. Yeah, I can see everything. Producer Mike: I can't see Chris, but if you can see him... Mid Thought Eric: I only have one problem, Chris, with your display. I don't see Tropic Thunder up there. Mid Thought Chris: What's your one problem with my display? Tropic Thunder is on the bottom. I can't reach it. Out of sight, yeah. Producer Mike, how has your first week on staff at the Mid-Thought Crisis been? Mid Thought Eric: Look, you're keeping it the bottom out of sight. Alright, I'm gonna put a big banner up here. Producer Mike: man. Yes, sir. It's pretty great. ⁓ The studios, yeah, they're excellent. I have my 401k completely maxed out. It's straight from... Full medical, dental, vision. Yeah, yeah. All paid for out of the pockets of Mid-Thought Crisis. It's been a blessing. It's been a blessing. Mid Thought Eric: The benefits are good, they? Mid Thought Chris: Yeah? Tell me more. Mid Thought Eric: Look at his studio we gave him! Mid Thought Chris: Do you like the 401k matching and all that stuff? Super generous. All paid for. Those are tea pockets. All from Singlet Pictures. Mid Thought Eric: Blue Cross Blue Shield. Yes, those are deep pockets. Producer Mike: All those singlet picklers are paying for my kids college. Mid Thought Eric: Who knew they would sell so well? Those things were like Joe Corby's fundraisers. Hey, ⁓ producer Mike, did we ask you previously what you think about Tropic Thunder? Mid Thought Chris: Who's that? ⁓ Producer Mike: I think you did on the alleged episode where somebody that looked a lot like me. Mid Thought Eric: Okay, can you refresh your memories? You said it was one of the best movies ever, Mid Thought Chris: Somebody who looked a lot like me. Producer Mike: ⁓ yeah, I love it. Mid Thought Eric: And Chris is like, no, can't take the day. For some reason, he has a, you have a kink in your armor. I find your Achilles heel. Mid Thought Chris: What did you say about me? What you say? What's my Achilles heel? Sit up to my face! I have too! Producer Mike: kill you see you. Mid Thought Eric: You want to fight? Huh? You want to go? It's our second fight. He won't watch Tropic Thunder. The only times he's tried to watch it, he's passed out. He has refused to watch it. I brought it to his house. He's refused to put it on. I don't know why. They would have loved it. Producer Mike: That's a big word. Hey, guys, separate! ⁓ that's right, I remember that. He needs to watch it. Mid Thought Chris: I didn't refuse to watch it, my family was around. I think they would have worried about me. Clyde can't hear shh- anything. Why is that guy wearing paint? Why is that guy wearing paint? Producer Mike: ⁓ yeah. Mid Thought Eric: Clyde would have liked it. He's like, well, it looks good. That's probably better off. ⁓ man. ⁓ Yeah, Bonnie would have liked it. She would have eaten it up. What is wrong with my dad? Producer Mike: Ha ha ha. What is that? Mid Thought Chris: Bonnie would have been like, yeah, that's great. See, he's laughing at it. This is terrible. Producer Mike, how was your week? Yeah. Producer Mike: What's going on? I need to lick him. It was good. It's good. Yeah, we, ⁓ I put out some shorts for the first time and they got a lot of hits. So that was, that was great. I don't think I've ever had anybody look at my stuff that much. I mean. Mid Thought Chris: They did? I owe that, we owe that all to you. Mid Thought Eric: Whoa. Whoa. Wait, were you, are you talking about wearing shorts? Did you wear shorts for the first time? And nobody's... Mid Thought Chris: Producer Mike. What kind of shorts are we referring to? Oh, okay. Producer Mike: You The YouTube shorts. Okay. Alright. Mid Thought Eric: So somehow a thousand human beings, allegedly, not bots, allegedly, watch that short, but nobody joined us live tonight. On a Friday night, they had other stuff to do, apparently. Producer Mike: Yeah, I've literally Mid Thought Chris: Not bots. Of course not. Producer Mike: Yeah. They all are. We gained like three subscribers, so you know we're practically famous now. Mid Thought Eric: So the people who watch those shorts, they just watch that to make fun of us? Did they watch it to feel sorry for us? Did they watch it by accident? ⁓ Mid Thought Chris: From the thousand one? From the shorts, yeah. Producer Mike: Yeah. I don't know. That was the short where Chris was ⁓ diving his soul out onto the video. Mid Thought Chris: ⁓ pining about I was open. What's wrong with him? Why does? It was the music, it absolutely wasn't music. Mid Thought Eric: That's it. They were curious. They were like, what's wrong with him? Producer Mike: And they're like, what, is he terminally ill? Like, what's with the somber music? Is he dying? Mid Thought Eric: It was the music. So my question is ⁓ to get a view of a short, how much of it do they have to watch? Do they have to just like, ⁓ crap, it came up on my feed, skip, skip, ⁓ Producer Mike: I think that's literally it. ⁓ Mid Thought Chris: I don't think you have to be watching it very much because I think there's like ⁓ a within the analytics you can see like hey this person like this amount of people clicked away after this amount of time and I think all of our stuff people are clicking away almost immediately. ⁓ he already looked. Producer Mike already looked. They watched 65. Mid Thought Eric: It just has to show up. Producer Mike: Yeah. Yeah. Well, our shorts are at 65 % of clicking away. So 65%. So that means that 35 % watch the whole thing. That's 300 people. That's 300 people. Mid Thought Eric: No, stop it. Wow. Wait, hold on, 65 % cut away at some point or in the very beginning? Just at any point, right? Mid Thought Chris: That's a lot of math. can rewind. that one more time. Clarifying question. Producer Mike: gave us the quicksweep. Mid Thought Chris: this swipe left. Producer Mike: I thought YouTube is swipe up. to go to the next one. Mid Thought Eric: So 65 % at some point in the viewing skipped it at some point. But 35 %? Wow. So they were the ones that were like, they put their phone down and it just kept going. Or they're like, this is so crazy I can't look away. Or what is this guy talking about? Mid Thought Chris: So not Tinder, got it. I don't know what that is, I heard rumors. Producer Mike: And that's in turn. What is that? Yeah, yes. 35 % watched the whole way through. Yeah. Mid Thought Chris: Okay. Watch to the end. Producer Mike: Probably, don't know what you thought about that today. Like, I gotta set up my car to pump some gas real quick. I'm gonna leave my phone, not realizing that they just watched it 20 times. Mid Thought Eric: 350 people. Yeah. Good. Mid Thought Chris: Who's this guy? Who's this guy? ⁓ that's good. But well done. Seriously, that was great. was like, huh, this makes, I don't know how, but. Mid Thought Eric: We kept talking about you. We kept talking about you, producer Mike, our whole lives. We kept talking about you and you finally appeared. Everybody's like, you're just making this guy up. I'm like, no, there's really a producer, Mike. Mid Thought Chris: Where have you been our whole lives? Producer Mike: Yeah. in the basement. Mid Thought Chris: There's really a producer mic. Producer Mike: He showed up. Mid Thought Chris: Eric, think, yeah, I think we've been waiting for him our whole lives. ⁓ He makes us look. Producer Mike: You guys are too nice, too kind. Mid Thought Eric: We have he was he was the he was the ⁓ the blessing we never knew we had. Mid Thought Chris: Yeah, the gift that we didn't know we needed. That too. All right. Producer Mike: You Mid Thought Eric: the gift that keeps on giving the jelly of the month club Producer Mike: You The jolly of the month club? Is that real thing? Mid Thought Eric: Is that what it was? From Clark Griswold? Producer Mike: ⁓ yeah, that's true. Mid Thought Chris: Hey, producer Mike, ⁓ when did you graduate high school? Mid Thought Eric: Hmm. Alright. Producer Mike: Yes, sir. 2008 Mid Thought Chris: 2008 so do you have any of those bands that you've been listening to for the entirety of that time probably? Disciple like a new shirt, right? Mid Thought Eric: Disable. Producer Mike: No, disciple I didn't start listening to until I graduated high school. My father-in-law introduced me to them. That along with Red. Mid Thought Eric: Loser! Mid Thought Chris: ⁓ okay, okay, That's right. I think I remember you saying that. So, in red, okay. Who were you listening to in high school? Mid Thought Eric: Hmm and your life was never red Producer Mike: So I was listening to... ⁓ We did. Yeah. We gained 50 listeners in that two second clip. ⁓ I listened to... I'm trying to think back who I listened to back then. I listened to a lot of Green Day. Mid Thought Chris: Ricky Martin. Mid Thought Eric: Living the vida loca! Did we just harmonize? That was two part harmony. Great housekeeping! Mid Thought Chris: Did we just become best friends? Who? do you got? Producer Mike: I was dating a girl that was really into Green Day, so I listened to them a lot. And yeah, and ⁓ I listened to like Cutlass, like all the classic, all the classic like Christian rock bands, Cutlass, Mercy Me, Casting Crowns, they're not really rock bands. Yeah, they're not rock bands. ⁓ But I listened to Skillet, listened to Skillet, I didn't listen to Sypol at that point, but. Mid Thought Chris: Mmm. Mid Thought Eric: Hmm. Mid Thought Chris: Dookie. Holy, yeah, okay. Yeah. I wouldn't put quite put them in rock category whatsoever. Mid Thought Eric: No skillet, no skillet. Mid Thought Chris: Hmm. Producer Mike: Um, I'm trying to think of who else. Um, oh, Reliant K. Remember Reliant K? I had like four of their CDs. Love them. I never listened to Striper. Mid Thought Eric: Yes, yes, yep. Mid Thought Chris: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Mid Thought Eric: Yep, cds. How about striper or striker striper? Yeah, they they were a little hair. They're a little hair bandage Mid Thought Chris: Yeah. Ooh, striper bud, striper. Producer Mike: The first time I listened to Striper was at, I think, Uprice Fest. And they like came back to play again. And they were on... Yeah, they were like very old. I'm like, what is this? What is going on? Mid Thought Eric: Hmm. Mid Thought Chris: There are. 97 years old, 97 years old. This is this is legendary. Mid Thought Eric: They were like 65. Yeah. Yeah, that was probably like what, three, like three years ago, three to five years ago. Yeah, I remember that. Producer Mike: Yeah, yeah, yeah, something like that. Yeah, they came back like they were headlining I think they had line in one of the nights or they were they were the ⁓ I forget the terminology, but they were on before skillet Mid Thought Chris: day. Mid Thought Eric: ⁓ really? So they were apparently like really, really popular back in the day before I really tuned into all that. Producer Mike: They were. Yeah. Mid Thought Chris: They were and then I think they're kind of not reputation, they're kind of like, yeah, it's probably reputation just kind of you know, increasing as time went on because I think they were one of the first few like bands from like a Christian perspective that kind of took off. Producer Mike: Well, they took off on the secular side too, not just on the Christian side. So they had, you know, both the Christian and the secular, you know, listening to them. So it's pretty cool. Mid Thought Chris: Yeah, yeah, yeah, for sure. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, they were one of the first few. Mid Thought Eric: Yeah, that's what skillet that's what skillets been trying to do lately Producer Mike: And they're successful. They're fairly successful at it. Mid Thought Chris: Indeed. Sweet! Alright, well this has been fun. How do you guys feel about the live thing? What do think? Mid Thought Eric: Indeed. Cool. Producer Mike: Let's hit that outro. It was fun. Yeah. Yeah, we have overwhelming support. Mid Thought Eric: I think it was a hit. Look at the response we got. ⁓ All the phones are busy. ⁓ Mid Thought Chris: Look at the response. It's all the phones. How was it answering all those phone calls, producer Mike? Producer Mike: My dog had to fill in for me a couple times. Mid Thought Eric: Yeah. Mid Thought Chris: That's great. Overwhelming success. Producer Mike: We had three people show up at some point. You didn't hear this, but I had... Mid Thought Eric: Hey, we still did what we do. They're like, ⁓ crap, where am I? Cancel, cancel, cancel. Mid Thought Chris: Yeah, at some point. And that was with, uh, that was zero warning whatsoever. So get out of it. Producer Mike: That's not playing. That's not playing. I don't know why there was a, there's a, a meme of a kid from like the 50s, 60s or 50s, 70s where he's, he says, wait a minute, who are you? And that does, that's a play, but now it's well that that plays this one doesn't. Did you hear that? You didn't hear anything. Mid Thought Chris: What'd have? Mid Thought Eric: Describe it to us. Mid Thought Chris: Nice. Mid Thought Eric: Where were you? Mid Thought Chris: What else? Mid Thought Eric: What are you doing? Mid Thought Chris: No. No. Which, ⁓ what's it, which one is it? What's it called? Other thing. Producer Mike: What the heck is going on? Mid Thought Eric: Negatorial. Producer Mike: It looks like Russian. It's U-E-C-Y. I didn't rename it because I was in a hurry. But oh, that's why. That's why it's not. Hold on. Mid Thought Eric: Russia Mid Thought Chris: I don't see anything on that list. Mid Thought Eric: Should that be one of our things that we incorporate? Mid Thought Chris: That is great. I like that. Producer Mike: You If somebody comes online, on live, I'll hit the, like, minute. Who are you? It probably will. It already did, you know? Mid Thought Eric: Yeah. They're like, ⁓ who us? ⁓ Mid Thought Chris: Nice. Who is that? Mid Thought Eric: That's gonna scare them away. Let's just let them be discreet. Mid Thought Chris: Hey, there's a there's an individual in there. Yeah. I don't know. It says one up on the up on the thing on the there's a there's like a little person thing and then there's a one next to it. Producer Mike: Is it really? Where? It says one. Hi, listener. Mid Thought Eric: Identify yourself. Producer Mike: ⁓ I see it now. Say hello. Pop into the chat. Say hello. Don't be scared. No, no, don't, don't, don't. Don't tell. This is this is how we we feed our children. And the arms of the angel. Mid Thought Eric: ⁓ Mid Thought Chris: You Mid Thought Eric: Don't leave, don't do it, please don't leave us! Do you want to pay $50 to see me in a ciggler? Mid Thought Chris: Can you tell we're about to wrap up? Producer Mike: Yeah, we're about to wrap and you joined but I still I still love you Mid Thought Eric: Like, Mid Thought Chris: But seriously, thanks for thanks for tuning in hit rewind on that and watch the show whoever you are We're glad you tuned in Chris you're a freaking moron What is he doing Mid Thought Eric: Whoever you are, we will find you. I have a special set of skills. Producer Mike: You watch it's your wife, Eric, and she's like, what is he doing? He's making so much noise. Mid Thought Eric: I know you are! Mid Thought Chris: Dude, I just got the best text message. I just got the best text message. I can't. No, look at this. Look at this. I'm about to put it in the private, not the public one. This is from... ⁓ Producer Mike: I know you are, but what am I? Was that, is that your daughter? Mid Thought Eric: All right, read to the show. Producer Mike: Alright, please. ⁓ wow. Mid Thought Eric: Please shut up and come to bed. Producer Mike: ⁓ okay. Mid Thought Eric: ⁓ just for the privates. Producer Mike: The privates. Mid Thought Chris: My brother Jay, how are you bud? Sorry, I just outed you. Welcome to the show buddy. Producer Mike: Thanks for telling me. So sorry. I literally got told at 730 that we were going live. I was like, okay. Yeah. Mid Thought Eric: There's no swearing on this show. Mid Thought Chris: I'm telling mom. We did. Now we're done one. Jay left already. Producer Mike: How, how, ⁓ there's two. We got two! We got two! Dang, Navit! Mid Thought Eric: Hello, mom. That was an accident. You're going live. We told him. Surprise. He was our first. He was our first helper. Producer Mike: Dagnabbit. Mid Thought Chris: I didn't know we were going live until like 30 seconds before the show. He was. He helped... ⁓ Producer Mike: That's a tear. Hmm. Mid Thought Eric: He helped get this awesome plane off the ground ⁓ yeah, we're going at least 5,000 feet Mid Thought Chris: Eric would you really call this off the ground? Producer Mike: Hey if it all goes down at least we're bored. Mid Thought Chris: I think it all goes back to Cessnas. I don't think I've laughed that hard in like 10 years and I still haven't laughed that hard. You started talking about 50 car pileups on the interstate and you're like, what if, what if we flew Cessnas with like banners out there and said, hey, caution, there's a 50 car pileup ahead. Mid Thought Eric: The Cessnas. That episode was the best. I don't know. I don't even know what brought all that up, but it was great. Yeah. That was my best work. Producer Mike: I remember that episode, yeah. Yeah, like let's spend thousands of dollars in jet fuel to warn motorists. Mid Thought Eric: You Mid Thought Chris: Yeah Mid Thought Eric: They should. Mmm. I don't know think about the insurance costs think about the insurance cost they would save the insurance companies The insurance companies can hire their own pilots Mid Thought Chris: Producer Mike, you really think it's only in the thousands? They could hire their own pilots. It's like, hey, watch out. This message brought to you by Geico. Producer Mike: I don't think it's in millions. Mid Thought Eric: It can be a high mark blue cross plane. Please gradually slow down. Do not slam on your brakes. 15 minutes, 15 minutes of slow braking can cause you $50 on car insurance. Right? Because that's the problem. They just hit. Producer Mike: It could be sponsored. Sponsored highway infotainment. One's just trailing behind the other. Yeah Get your insurance now. Mid Thought Eric: they just hit the brakes so fast they go but if they were just gradually slow down so you got to get them ahead of time Geico that's State Farm a State Farm Producer Mike: You Mid Thought Chris: You gotta get them. Gotta get these guys. ⁓ man. That was fun. Hey, well, while we are... Producer Mike: You Mid Thought Eric: ⁓ alright. Yeah. Producer Mike: Wow wow we have been all really clear we go live and we're all that's is that what is that what they call them ⁓ no quack Mid Thought Eric: Look how clear we've all been. Something must have happened. The bunker has been upgraded. Mid Thought Chris: This is kind of wild. Somebody must have gotten this. Somebody must have gotten extended. The bunkers. ⁓ and we're losing. We're losing producer Mike. Mid Thought Eric: Uh-oh, Producer Mike's getting fuzzy. How's it feel, Producer Mike, to have the crappiest internet service? Producer Mike: It's probably because my wife's something downstairs. Hi. She's probably asleep. We're not doing that here. I think it's Outlander actually. One of two. Mid Thought Eric: Tell her to stop that. Say, we're not doing that. Hey, Mythot Chris, have to give him, we have to show him our inside secrets. Mid Thought Chris: Turn off Bridgerton! One of the two. Producer Mike: ⁓ I thought I knew I thought I got all those images already Mid Thought Chris: Show producer what inside secrets? These are different What what inside what are you talking about? I mean thought Eric Okay, okay, those ones those are great those are great Mid Thought Eric: I'm Bob Rible. Brobrible. Nope, these are different. Jirak-Jo-Brahma gave a job to me. Producer Mike: You Hahaha! Mid Thought Eric: I'm talking about the, ⁓ the, ⁓ we're not doing that stuff and, ⁓ I'm bro bribe. Producer Mike: We're not doing that. Mid Thought Chris: Hey see, did we show them the Orioles game one yet? Okay, okay. Mid Thought Eric: Yes, you did. Thank you for that. Producer Mike: Yeah, you sent me a plethora of video evidence. We are still alive. Mid Thought Eric: We're still live, by the way. Mid Thought Chris: We're still live by the way! For the record, we've been rambling for 20 minutes. WRAP IT UP! Now we don't want to Because we're blood. Producer Mike: And now that we have a viewer and now we don't want to stop, we get a taste of the future. Mid Thought Eric: If three people ever ended up watching this, like, why are we still listening to this? All right. Producer Mike: Yeah. Mid Thought Eric: We're Bled. Yes. Good talk. I'll see you out there. Mid Thought Chris: Anyway, all right. Well, hey, we'll we'll give you a little bit of a better warning the next time we're going live. ⁓ But yeah, this is fun. Producer Mike: were weighted. Mid Thought Eric: Yeah, think we could at least triple our viewership if we gave some sort of warning. Mid Thought Chris: Triple. And he's gone. It's my own brother. ⁓ Producer Mike: And by triple meaning three. He said, screw you! I'll show you! Wait, who are you? Mid Thought Eric: Who is this? Hey, we should have him as a guest! Producer Mike: That would be fun. Riverside might crash. Mid Thought Chris: Sounds great. Mid Thought Eric: Alright, I'm gonna take that for action. Mid Thought Chris: I have that for action. I did it in my crash. It's too many of them. All right, gentlemen, I think that's all the brain cells I've got. This has been fun. We'll give you a little bit more warning next time we go live. But impeccably, Eric, you are so clear. Producer Mike: We can't handle it. You can't handle the truth! Mid Thought Eric: ⁓ so good. All right. This extender has worked impeccably. Hey, should make TP-Link is a non-sponsor sponsor. Producer Mike: it has. Indeed. Mid Thought Chris: Non-sponsors are they never mind. I'll ask that question later Mid Thought Eric: Thank you. Thank you TP-Link. Yes. All for $79.99. Producer Mike: helping us get clear internet since 2026. Mid Thought Chris: clear internet extending Eric's reach. Alright, it's all the break cells we've got. So long little doves. Have a great evening. We're out. Mid Thought Eric: It's what we've always needed Thank you TP link I'm out peace out sleep well little dove Producer Mike: giving him the good old extension Mid Thought Chris: Stop!
