- 0:50Speaker 3: And we got a hurry, but it is don't want
- 0:53Speaker 3: to hurry.
- 0:54Speaker 1: Thursday here at Jillette Stadium and our last show of
- 0:57Speaker 1: the week before we get into the weeknd. It's a
- 1:00Speaker 1: big weekend here to Let's dad him. By the way,
- 1:03Speaker 1: Mike Vrabel being inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame
- 1:06Speaker 1: on Saturday as along with Dante Scarnekia as a contributor.
- 1:10Speaker 1: So that will be at noon on Saturday. We'll have
- 1:15Speaker 1: it live on Patriots dot Com in case you can't
- 1:18Speaker 1: be here. I hope it doesn't. I think they're going
- 1:21Speaker 1: inside though, but I'm not sure. I think it sounds
- 1:23Speaker 1: like rain, so if it does go inside, it won't
- 1:25Speaker 1: be open to the public, but you will be able
- 1:28Speaker 1: to watch the entire ceremony on Patriots dot Com. So
- 1:33Speaker 1: excited about that. To get them into the Hall. Then,
- 1:35Speaker 1: of course the game on Sunday with a halftime ceremony
- 1:40Speaker 1: with Mike Rabel again.
- 1:43Speaker 4: Will be back in time.
- 1:45Speaker 5: You can pass from the past part twelve with him.
- 1:49Speaker 3: No, but we are going to do a couple of
- 1:52Speaker 3: podcasts while we have the chance over the weekend. You're
- 1:54Speaker 3: going to do a quick one with Mike because he's
- 1:56Speaker 3: a little short on time, but we're also going.
- 1:58Speaker 4: To do one with Romeo Cornell.
- 2:00Speaker 1: What are you gonna'll be good? Yeah?
- 2:01Speaker 5: What are you going to tee up? For rapes? And
- 2:02Speaker 5: you got a short time? What do you what do
- 2:03Speaker 5: you jump into?
- 2:04Speaker 6: Like?
- 2:04Speaker 5: Where do you go?
- 2:05Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 2:05Speaker 5: I think Tennessee.
- 2:08Speaker 4: He can't show you how the sage just made.
- 2:10Speaker 1: You know, everybody that gets inducted into the Patriots Hall
- 2:13Speaker 1: of Fame does a speech, and you know, not to
- 2:16Speaker 1: be disrespectful, but usually they're boring. I gotta feeling Rabel
- 2:20Speaker 1: will have a couple of zingers in there. That'll be good.
- 2:22Speaker 7: I hope so I thought Vince's was good and the
- 2:25Speaker 7: Rabel kind of feels like the same kind of Yeah
- 2:27Speaker 7: is Dante is he doing this?
- 2:29Speaker 1: Yeah, he'll say something, yeah, was good to you had
- 2:31Speaker 1: ties were good? Was good?
- 2:32Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know.
- 2:35Speaker 5: But you're talking about the induction speech or the halftimes.
- 2:37Speaker 1: Speed either one?
- 2:38Speaker 5: Oh yeah, either one.
- 2:39Speaker 3: The inductions the halftime is too cool, Like that's just
- 2:42Speaker 3: like thank you everybody, you know. But he's not looking
- 2:45Speaker 3: for But you never know with him, he's kind of tighten.
- 2:47Speaker 1: He's kind of a loose cannon tight.
- 2:50Speaker 5: I'm just turious.
- 2:51Speaker 8: No, I bet that'd be Vrabel right, Like I mean,
- 2:53Speaker 8: like they'll be like I feel like I need a
- 2:55Speaker 8: little shot from him about something.
- 2:57Speaker 7: You know, like I don't remember that game in nineteen.
- 3:00Speaker 5: I know, And sorry for ending Tom Brady's career.
- 3:02Speaker 9: Yea.
- 3:03Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:04Speaker 1: So so it's a big weekend.
- 3:06Speaker 7: We have some dot com stuff for for this weekend
- 3:09Speaker 7: to Mike Rabel piece and my Dante Scarnekia piece from
- 3:14Speaker 7: the Game Day magazine. We're going to publish that on
- 3:16Speaker 7: on dot com tomorrow, which is like probably the you know,
- 3:20Speaker 7: the thing that I love the most that I've ever written.
- 3:23Speaker 5: So read it. What about the film breakdown? You did
- 3:25Speaker 5: a Chicago Bears game last year?
- 3:28Speaker 7: No, like like getting to talk to to Scar and
- 3:32Speaker 7: like talk football with him. Is that was like the pinnacle?
- 3:35Speaker 7: I was like, this is to read that?
- 3:38Speaker 5: Yeah, it was fun. It was fun.
- 3:40Speaker 7: Some Ivan fears, great Ivan Fears quotes in there too.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Good stuff. And then you're gonna talk put that on.
- 3:47Speaker 5: Dot com maybe?
- 3:50Speaker 1: Oh god, I forgot about that.
- 3:55Speaker 5: Before you k Yeah.
- 4:00Speaker 1: We're still tweaking a little bit.
- 4:02Speaker 7: Yeah, we still haven't never posted it. I mean, he's
- 4:05Speaker 7: still here. I saw him walking into the building again
- 4:08Speaker 7: yesterday and I was like, I haven't, like you can retire,
- 4:11Speaker 7: Like it's okay.
- 4:12Speaker 8: Because we have a piece written by Ericscalavino who's been
- 4:14Speaker 8: gone two years.
- 4:15Speaker 3: It was a retirement piece and it's really good. But
- 4:18Speaker 3: I mean we just never really felt like it was
- 4:20Speaker 3: the appropriate eternal time because he's never really officially stepped away.
- 4:25Speaker 1: First all the time, Paul on your podcast with Rack,
- 4:28Speaker 1: what do you think you're gonna ask him?
- 4:29Speaker 3: You know, I was just talking to Mad about that
- 4:31Speaker 3: a little bit. And I do not have a lot
- 4:35Speaker 3: of interaction with Romeo Cornell. I mean, I've obviously been
- 4:38Speaker 3: involved in a lot of press conferences with him, as
- 4:40Speaker 3: as I like to say with fifty of my closest friends.
- 4:43Speaker 3: But you know, with guys like Rabel and Rodney and
- 4:47Speaker 3: you know, Devin mccordy, you know, I felt like I
- 4:49Speaker 3: had I'm not pretending that I was friends with them,
- 4:52Speaker 3: because I wasn't, but I.
- 4:53Speaker 4: Felt like they knew me.
- 4:55Speaker 3: I knew who they are and we had some interaction.
- 4:58Speaker 3: I don't really feel like that with with Rome Cornell.
- 5:01Speaker 3: So we're going to try, I think, to sort of
- 5:04Speaker 3: step into just some of the stories behind the scenes
- 5:07Speaker 3: that maybe we were of interest. But when he came
- 5:10Speaker 3: here and you know, being part of those three you know,
- 5:13Speaker 3: those first three titles.
- 5:15Speaker 1: Yeah, so like i'd want to know, like, you know,
- 5:17Speaker 1: like he came right away with Bill, Yeah, and so
- 5:21Speaker 1: what was that like? Like what did Bill tell you
- 5:24Speaker 1: were getting into and what was it like building this
- 5:27Speaker 1: team because two thousand it wasn't a good roster, you know, like,
- 5:33Speaker 1: did you have any idea that you were going to
- 5:36Speaker 1: be able to do what you ended up doing? And
- 5:38Speaker 1: what was that building process like? And without getting in
- 5:42Speaker 1: without saying it, Paul, like, maybe there's some differences that
- 5:47Speaker 1: will come out about how that was done compared to
- 5:50Speaker 1: what's being done now, Like don't you know we don't
- 5:52Speaker 1: need no no, but like without asking, like what do
- 5:55Speaker 1: you think of what's happening now? Don't get into that.
- 5:58Speaker 1: But like if he if he talks about like, you know,
- 6:02Speaker 1: the types of players that they wanted on defense, you know,
- 6:05Speaker 1: because he was the defensive coordinator, you know.
- 6:07Speaker 5: I'd be curious, like what when you came in like that?
- 6:10Speaker 8: Obviously right out the bat, you knew like all right,
- 6:12Speaker 8: this guy, this guy, no, like they're not for us,
- 6:15Speaker 8: maybe not schematically whatever, But then you get into the season,
- 6:19Speaker 8: then how do you figure out?
- 6:20Speaker 1: Well, but but there were guy, you know, the guys
- 6:24Speaker 1: they brought in, Bobby Hamilton and Roman Piffer they allowed
- 6:29Speaker 1: to go home on the weekends and not come back
- 6:31Speaker 1: until Wednesday because he was living in LA and that
- 6:34Speaker 1: was his condition to come here, you know. But they
- 6:37Speaker 1: they so wanted Roman Piffer because they knew he would
- 6:40Speaker 1: be one of the circle the Wagon guys that they
- 6:42Speaker 1: allowed him to do that, you know, Like so they
- 6:45Speaker 1: they immediately brought in, particularly on defense, guys that they
- 6:48Speaker 1: knew were going to carry the message.
- 6:50Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, that's what Scar I asked.
- 6:52Speaker 7: I talked to Scar about it a little bit, and
- 6:53Speaker 7: this was before we knew this team was going to
- 6:55Speaker 7: go one and five and everything like that, and you know,
- 6:57Speaker 7: I was kind of like, When's when was like the
- 7:00Speaker 7: turning because he was here for a long time, even
- 7:02Speaker 7: before the dynasty and everything, and I was like, when
- 7:05Speaker 7: was like the turning point? When did you start to
- 7:07Speaker 7: feel it kind of swing the pendulum? And he said
- 7:10Speaker 7: that when there when there was like a feeling in
- 7:15Speaker 7: the locker room started policing itself, Like the locker room
- 7:19Speaker 7: like started to just kind of they didn't need to
- 7:23Speaker 7: tell people to you know, stay extra time or work harder,
- 7:26Speaker 7: or you know, like the compete level on Sundays. They
- 7:29Speaker 7: didn't have to worry about all of that, so the
- 7:31Speaker 7: coaching staff could just worry all about game plan x's
- 7:35Speaker 7: and o's, you know, teaching fundamentals things like that.
- 7:38Speaker 5: That's good.
- 7:39Speaker 1: I mean, the next question for Bill should be does
- 7:41Speaker 1: this locker room police itself? And he'll know exactly what
- 7:45Speaker 1: you're talking about. He might give you an answer yeah, yeah,
- 7:47Speaker 1: And obviously he's not going to say, oh no, it
- 7:49Speaker 1: doesn't it requires But I think that'll put a light bulb,
- 7:53Speaker 1: light up, a light bulb over his head, and you know, it's.
- 7:56Speaker 4: Interesting shining a light on Bill Belichick.
- 7:59Speaker 1: I know.
- 7:59Speaker 7: But like, but the contrast, like, yeah, you know, well
- 8:03Speaker 7: with Frable going in, you know, he was one of
- 8:05Speaker 7: the guys that was one of those types of guys
- 8:07Speaker 7: like and no nonsense. I know Willie gets a lot
- 8:09Speaker 7: of credit for that too. And when he came here, yeah,
- 8:12Speaker 7: and those guys and obviously scar then said, well and
- 8:16Speaker 7: then we got Tom Brady right like that, and that
- 8:18Speaker 7: was when he.
- 8:19Speaker 5: Really changed emple.
- 8:21Speaker 7: Yeah, but I think that Scarnekia felt that it even
- 8:25Speaker 7: started to change, like even in the nineties a little
- 8:28Speaker 7: bit where the compete level and the the sort of
- 8:32Speaker 7: you know, just drive to be great and all that
- 8:35Speaker 7: kind of stuff came into play. And then Bill comes in,
- 8:38Speaker 7: then Brady comes in, and then all of a sudden,
- 8:40Speaker 7: you know, the rest is history.
- 8:41Speaker 1: Cool.
- 8:42Speaker 5: Yeah, it's a good look.
- 8:43Speaker 3: Just to correct. Cornell came in in a one Okay,
- 8:48Speaker 3: he didn't actually come with Bill in two thousand. He
- 8:52Speaker 3: was still the defensive coordinator in Cleveland in two thousands, so.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Well, so that's even more so like.
- 8:57Speaker 4: He came in and it was like boom, super overnight.
- 9:00Speaker 1: Yeah, Bill must have said I need I need Romeo.
- 9:03Speaker 5: Who was the two thousand defensive course.
- 9:05Speaker 3: I think Bill did it themselves.
- 9:07Speaker 1: So what was that conversation like when Bill said, hey,
- 9:09Speaker 1: can you come here and be our D d C?
- 9:12Speaker 1: You know, did he tell you what the situation was, like,
- 9:15Speaker 1: what you were stepping into, what needed to be done,
- 9:18Speaker 1: players that you wanted to get, you know, like what
- 9:21Speaker 1: was that all about?
- 9:21Speaker 8: I think the obvious question, which I'm sure Paul already
- 9:24Speaker 8: has teed up, is just that stable of linebackers, Like
- 9:26Speaker 8: you know, he brings it up all the time that
- 9:28Speaker 8: what do you say yet six.
- 9:29Speaker 3: For four was that they had three for two spots
- 9:31Speaker 3: inside and outside. Yeah, you know like Ted Johnson, Teddy Bruski,
- 9:36Speaker 3: you know, outside it was always six.
- 9:38Speaker 4: It was McGuinness five for.
- 9:42Speaker 3: Colvin you know when he was here, and Rabel, so
- 9:45Speaker 3: they always It was amazing to me how they had
- 9:49Speaker 3: three top notch players for two spots at both spots.
- 9:54Speaker 4: At all at all times, like and they changed.
- 9:57Speaker 3: Like I said, it was you know McGinnis and Vrabel
- 9:59Speaker 3: and then Colvin comes in and you know, Feiffer was
- 10:02Speaker 3: there early and then he left and Ted Johnson was
- 10:04Speaker 3: there early and then he left, but they always had
- 10:07Speaker 3: that layer of depth, and now it's I mean it's
- 10:09Speaker 3: a totally different scheme. Now they basically play with two linebackers.
- 10:13Speaker 1: Now, yeah, they were they with true four.
- 10:16Speaker 5: Oh yeah, that's what I was just going to say.
- 10:17Speaker 8: And this wouldn't be a question for this, but something
- 10:20Speaker 8: I've always been curious about is when you go back
- 10:22Speaker 8: and look at like six oh seven those defenses, it's
- 10:24Speaker 8: basically the three four or a nickel you know, like
- 10:27Speaker 8: you swap out the big linebacker and you put in
- 10:29Speaker 8: a nickel back and you know, now it's it's all
- 10:31Speaker 8: I mean, they play called dime now. You know, I'd
- 10:33Speaker 8: just be curious Romeo Cornell's perspective on that evolution with
- 10:37Speaker 8: the league, which happened after he left here. Really it
- 10:39Speaker 8: was you know in the twenty tens that it really
- 10:40Speaker 8: you know, people started saying Nichol is the new bass,
- 10:42Speaker 8: Nichol is the new base, and.
- 10:44Speaker 5: You know, just be interested how he feels.
- 10:46Speaker 7: Yeah, bas is coming back, Yeah, that's true toa is
- 10:50Speaker 7: making it come, pecially with the Patriots.
- 10:52Speaker 5: Yeah, they've put a lot of basis.
- 10:53Speaker 8: But I wonder you know, is it the running quarterbacks?
- 10:56Speaker 8: Is it, you know, the lack of depth up front?
- 10:58Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 10:59Speaker 7: Yeah, I don't know either. But bass is making a comeback. Okay,
- 11:02Speaker 7: not like Nickels still base in the NFL, but where
- 11:06Speaker 7: the percentages are starting to get back into traditional base.
- 11:09Speaker 8: It's weird anominally too about the Patriots, which I just
- 11:12Speaker 8: am pulling up. I got the numbers right here that
- 11:15Speaker 8: the Patriots are thirty second in Nickels, So like they
- 11:17Speaker 8: go base to dime.
- 11:18Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, they don't. They don't really mess around
- 11:20Speaker 5: in the middle. Just interesting, a little.
- 11:21Speaker 1: Bit interesting, all right? So we moved back to present day,
- 11:25Speaker 1: or move up to present day, and I think the
- 11:28Speaker 1: big story this week at least what's better story, but
- 11:31Speaker 1: it's getting worse is the injury report. The list of
- 11:35Speaker 1: people on this report.
- 11:36Speaker 5: How high can it go?
- 11:37Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 11:38Speaker 1: Before you unable to feel the team?
- 11:41Speaker 8: Yeah, I mean Truent Brown, I think is the interesting
- 11:43Speaker 8: one today. If he is he going to be out there?
- 11:45Speaker 3: Is that? You know?
- 11:45Speaker 5: Do you get a day off? Last couple of days?
- 11:47Speaker 7: It was absent Tuesday, right, Yeah, it was absent Tuesday.
- 11:49Speaker 7: I saw him in the locker room yesterday.
- 11:52Speaker 1: No Tuesday moving.
- 11:54Speaker 7: I asked him, like, you know, how you doing? And
- 11:57Speaker 7: he was just like, what do you mean? I was like,
- 11:59Speaker 7: what do you what do you mean?
- 11:59Speaker 3: What you said, how are you doing? And he said,
- 12:01Speaker 3: what do you mean?
- 12:02Speaker 1: Trent?
- 12:03Speaker 7: I probably should how are you doing? But yeah, yeah, no,
- 12:06Speaker 7: I just you know, say.
- 12:07Speaker 1: You know, in a holistic way, right, I mean how
- 12:10Speaker 1: are you mentally? How is your life work balance?
- 12:12Speaker 10: Yeah?
- 12:13Speaker 4: Are you getting enough rest?
- 12:14Speaker 5: Getting enough pto?
- 12:16Speaker 1: Trent? Yeah?
- 12:16Speaker 5: So practice today is when one one, so we'll get
- 12:21Speaker 5: it in the move locker room up too.
- 12:23Speaker 3: I saw that read the email.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Yeah good, Paul.
- 12:29Speaker 3: Heard that inside joke. But twenty guys on that injury
- 12:34Speaker 3: report and it's I have some different thoughts and theories.
- 12:40Speaker 3: I don't know if they're necessarily appropriate for the radio,
- 12:42Speaker 3: but just it's it's the Fred Paul thing, like when
- 12:47Speaker 3: you start losing, that injury report tends to grow.
- 12:49Speaker 1: Yeah that that hand that kind of hurt really hurts now, right,
- 12:53Speaker 1: you know.
- 12:53Speaker 8: I mean there's a handful of guys Trump, Brown, Jonathan Jones.
- 12:57Speaker 8: I just I'm not optimistic he's gonna play. I hope
- 13:00Speaker 8: they could give me get Jack Jones back, just for
- 13:02Speaker 8: some death because it's getting ridiculous. But I just I
- 13:04Speaker 8: feel like j Jones probably needs a break. He probably
- 13:07Speaker 8: needs to be, you know, shut down maybe for a
- 13:09Speaker 8: little bit. And then Hunter Henry too, like you know,
- 13:12Speaker 8: is that.
- 13:12Speaker 1: He was hurt kind of twice in that last game.
- 13:16Speaker 1: He looked a little like he pulled something when he
- 13:19Speaker 1: was reaching for that interception pass. He stayed down on
- 13:22Speaker 1: one knee. At first, I thought he was just so
- 13:24Speaker 1: bewildered of the play that he just stayed on one knee.
- 13:27Speaker 1: But somebody said that he they skied to ponder it
- 13:30Speaker 1: for a sea.
- 13:31Speaker 7: I did see him pull up a little bit, yeah, now,
- 13:33Speaker 7: but I think it might have been a little.
- 13:34Speaker 1: Bit of both, Okay, Yeah, and then later on he
- 13:36Speaker 1: was down on his back.
- 13:38Speaker 5: Yeah, he got he got rolled up on. Yeah, but
- 13:42Speaker 5: then he came back. Yeah, it was funny getting rolled up.
- 13:44Speaker 1: He listed with uh ankle.
- 13:49Speaker 3: It looked like it could have been like a high angle.
- 13:50Speaker 5: That's a rolled up on kind of injury.
- 13:52Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 13:53Speaker 1: So it's it's it's getting to be like a mass
- 13:55Speaker 1: unit here.
- 13:56Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 13:57Speaker 8: I mean, hopefully Jack Jones could go, that would if
- 13:59Speaker 8: Jonathan can't. But I mean you just kind of have
- 14:02Speaker 8: to hold on against.
- 14:03Speaker 7: Jack Jones, on ja Z Jackson Well, Trent Brown with
- 14:06Speaker 7: the chest, Hunter Henry ankle, Jonathan Jones knee, Riley Reef knee,
- 14:11Speaker 7: Josh Jay knee and ankle, and uh ke On White
- 14:15Speaker 7: obviously with the concussion. Those are the guys that didn't
- 14:17Speaker 7: probare at all.
- 14:18Speaker 8: Yeah yeah, yeah, ke On White's a bummer. I mean,
- 14:21Speaker 8: I assume he's just in concussion protocol, but.
- 14:23Speaker 7: Not that it makes it like that much better. But
- 14:26Speaker 7: having the three guys on the reserve lists being included
- 14:29Speaker 7: on the injury it's a little this evening. Yeah, so
- 14:33Speaker 7: like it's not like that much better, but you know,
- 14:35Speaker 7: guys like Cody Davis and Trey Flowers and Jack Jones
- 14:38Speaker 7: are also on here.
- 14:39Speaker 5: I going to Cody and they got next week.
- 14:41Speaker 7: Right, I think October twenty sixth, I believe is the that's.
- 14:45Speaker 4: Next week, right, yeah?
- 14:45Speaker 5: Yeah, week from from two.
- 14:49Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, that's the twenty one days.
- 14:51Speaker 8: You think maybe with Keon White going out that it
- 14:53Speaker 8: might be Trey Flowers time perhaps, I mean, just based
- 14:56Speaker 8: on simply not having the bodies, like I know, Paul,
- 15:00Speaker 8: sorry Paul to bring it up.
- 15:01Speaker 5: It's so mad about trade.
- 15:02Speaker 8: Flowers, but young people to be playing.
- 15:07Speaker 3: You know, just to be completely clear, this has my
- 15:10Speaker 3: disdain has nothing at all to do with Trey Flowers,
- 15:12Speaker 3: who is a rock solid football player. I like, nothing
- 15:16Speaker 3: bad to say about Trey Flowers, the person or the player.
- 15:19Speaker 3: I just would like to see.
- 15:21Speaker 5: Sort of a more of a you know, pushful.
- 15:25Speaker 3: I would rather see Jeremiah Farms play on the defensive
- 15:29Speaker 3: line just because I don't, you know, I have a
- 15:31Speaker 3: feeling I know what he is. But like, if Keon
- 15:35Speaker 3: White can't play, then I just think plugging Tray Flowers in,
- 15:41Speaker 3: I don't know. I don't know what you get out
- 15:42Speaker 3: of it.
- 15:43Speaker 1: Yeah, but I don't know what you don't have many
- 15:45Speaker 1: alternatives at this point.
- 15:46Speaker 7: If they if they plug a guy like Trey Flowers,
- 15:48Speaker 7: and it tells me that the coach is worried about
- 15:52Speaker 7: keeping his job, you know, Like it's not because if
- 15:54Speaker 7: a coach is not worried about job security, he's playing
- 15:57Speaker 7: Jeremiah Farms. He's playing some of the younger guys and
- 16:00Speaker 7: playing Kaishawan Booty, right.
- 16:02Speaker 3: Like Sam Roberts and Jeremiah Farms. Like to me, like,
- 16:06Speaker 3: I have no idea if those guys are any part
- 16:08Speaker 3: of the future or not. Whatever. But Trey Flowers won't
- 16:12Speaker 3: be on your team when you're good again.
- 16:15Speaker 7: I might not even be on the team next year.
- 16:16Speaker 3: Right, Oh no, no, you know, to Mike's point, if
- 16:19Speaker 3: he doesn't get activated, you might not be in the
- 16:20Speaker 3: team the rest of this year.
- 16:22Speaker 1: Right, What else have we got?
- 16:25Speaker 3: What else we got?
- 16:26Speaker 1: No bill today, Thursday? He'll go tomorrow.
- 16:29Speaker 3: Tomorrow, Freddy, I was told that I beat you on
- 16:35Speaker 3: the roundtable.
- 16:36Speaker 1: To the fred Oh god, I haven't even done it.
- 16:38Speaker 5: Oh, I haven't put a buffaloe?
- 16:40Speaker 3: Did I know?
- 16:41Speaker 5: It was a blowout?
- 16:42Speaker 1: What's the deadline on that tomorrow morning? Do you want
- 16:44Speaker 1: me to say it? You can transcribe it. I'll just
- 16:47Speaker 1: read it now.
- 16:48Speaker 3: And he thoughts with Fred Kirsh.
- 16:50Speaker 4: The question was.
- 16:51Speaker 5: About Buffalo Wings, though, so I thought that would intrigue.
- 16:53Speaker 1: Oh, I'll nail that one.
- 16:55Speaker 5: I already got some some votes coming in for.
- 16:57Speaker 1: Well, it's the best buffalo place in Buffalo.
- 17:00Speaker 5: In local, local, local, think about it.
- 17:03Speaker 1: Yeah, Buffs Pub is up there.
- 17:06Speaker 7: I think has already got two votes. I mean, I said, Jim,
- 17:10Speaker 7: I've never been to Wendell's. People keep talking about we've
- 17:15Speaker 7: got to go there.
- 17:15Speaker 1: Where we go, it's Norton.
- 17:18Speaker 7: Everyone everybody keeps talking about that.
- 17:20Speaker 4: I've ever heard of that.
- 17:21Speaker 1: The lineman love it.
- 17:24Speaker 4: I like to eat the places that the linemen like
- 17:26Speaker 4: to go.
- 17:26Speaker 5: Yeah, maybe sometimes instead of keeping.
- 17:29Speaker 3: Place, have delivered and I thought was awful.
- 17:32Speaker 8: We'll get a big thing of buffalo wings right in
- 17:33Speaker 8: the middle and we'll just all dig in during the show.
- 17:35Speaker 3: It'll be that.
- 17:36Speaker 7: Maybe maybe they'll send them in for free if we
- 17:38Speaker 7: give him and I shut out, like my haircut.
- 17:40Speaker 3: I don't know if my place my original thought. I
- 17:43Speaker 3: don't even know if they're still open.
- 17:45Speaker 1: And back in the day, back in the day, the
- 17:48Speaker 1: e commerce department used to be down here. It was
- 17:52Speaker 1: where the optim Club is now. That was like the
- 17:54Speaker 1: whole warehouse for e commerce. And there were two guys
- 17:58Speaker 1: that worked there that challenged each other to a buffalo
- 18:01Speaker 1: wing eating contests and they had it right. So I
- 18:03Speaker 1: walk into the radio and there's a whole bunch of
- 18:06Speaker 1: people surrounding these two people with buffalo sauce all over
- 18:09Speaker 1: their face and they're just like plowing through buffalo wings.
- 18:13Speaker 1: It was the funniest thing you ever saw.
- 18:14Speaker 8: Somebody too much meat left on the bone, Like does
- 18:17Speaker 8: it like a certain amount of.
- 18:19Speaker 5: Yeah, you have to contest, they do. Yeah, oh yeah,
- 18:22Speaker 5: leave any any extra.
- 18:23Speaker 1: You can't just like take a bite and say, oh, that's.
- 18:25Speaker 5: One but gristle and fat. Let you.
- 18:28Speaker 3: You never see the guys eat the flats and they
- 18:29Speaker 3: just just oh, I do that, right, you do?
- 18:32Speaker 1: Yeah. I like the flats better than the wing part,
- 18:34Speaker 1: I really do. I like.
- 18:35Speaker 4: I like them both, but I I can't do that.
- 18:39Speaker 3: I don't know how you do it.
- 18:39Speaker 5: I don't know how.
- 18:40Speaker 1: How are you gotta hold you gotta get away. You
- 18:43Speaker 1: gotta split, you gotta you know how it has two bones,
- 18:47Speaker 1: you gotta split it so that the meat comes off
- 18:49Speaker 1: both bones at the same time.
- 18:50Speaker 5: Whether you're like with your tongue, you gotta kind.
- 18:52Speaker 7: I don't get people who are flats people.
- 18:53Speaker 5: I'm not gonna.
- 18:54Speaker 1: Really you pep. The flats is white meat. The wing
- 18:58Speaker 1: part is dark.
- 19:00Speaker 11: I know.
- 19:00Speaker 7: But they're just weird to eat. Like it's just it's
- 19:02Speaker 7: just hard to eat.
- 19:03Speaker 3: I know.
- 19:04Speaker 1: I think it's much more tasty.
- 19:05Speaker 7: Yeah, just like it's a little and I like the
- 19:07Speaker 7: wings union it's a little bit more fat on different
- 19:11Speaker 7: part of the bagel. Tasty at my top or bottom.
- 19:18Speaker 5: There's the top of the bagel and there's the bottom.
- 19:21Speaker 5: I'm just kidding, it's not real. That's good top of.
- 19:25Speaker 7: The flats and wings are real though, because she says
- 19:29Speaker 7: that the wing is like too meaty for her, like
- 19:32Speaker 7: she doesn't like she feels like a barbarian.
- 19:33Speaker 5: I agree, Yeah, I'm with her. Yeah, I like the flats.
- 19:37Speaker 5: There you go.
- 19:38Speaker 1: Yeah, I will gladly trade you your flats.
- 19:43Speaker 7: For my I mean, this is this is how, this
- 19:46Speaker 7: is why wings are popular in our house.
- 19:49Speaker 1: But there's there's a lot of good places, but you know,
- 19:52Speaker 1: Buffalo obviously is the capital of it. That's where they
- 19:54Speaker 1: were invented at the Anchor Bar. A little overrated, but
- 19:58Speaker 1: you know you have to to see it.
- 20:00Speaker 5: Do you guys still go there? You guys still go
- 20:01Speaker 5: there when you're in Buffalo. Yeah, there's.
- 20:06Speaker 7: I like Duffs, Like I know that that's like also
- 20:09Speaker 7: like a tourist trap, but I yeah, we went right.
- 20:13Speaker 1: Yeah, I've been to both, but pretty much in Buffalo,
- 20:19Speaker 1: like everywhere everywhere is good. If you if you don't
- 20:21Speaker 1: know how to do wings in Buffalo, then get out.
- 20:23Speaker 4: Otherwise, I mean it's just so depressing. What else are
- 20:25Speaker 4: you gonna do it?
- 20:27Speaker 1: It's like lobster roll, and if you have lobster roll
- 20:31Speaker 1: on your menu, it better be good, you know.
- 20:33Speaker 5: But like, what really makes a great buffalo wing? Like
- 20:36Speaker 5: what sets one above? Like great?
- 20:38Speaker 1: Well, what's great to me? It's a little crispyer, you know,
- 20:42Speaker 1: you don't want it soggy not. The wings can't be
- 20:45Speaker 1: too big. They have to be kind of in the middle.
- 20:48Speaker 1: They're not too small, not too big. And then the
- 20:51Speaker 1: sauce has to be covered. It has to be like
- 20:53Speaker 1: the real sauce where you fry the wing first and
- 20:57Speaker 1: then you put it in the bowl with the sauce
- 20:59Speaker 1: and you it up. Some places like the sauce is
- 21:02Speaker 1: like embedded in it. It's almost like baked in. That's
- 21:05Speaker 1: not good.
- 21:06Speaker 3: Dry rub. Yeah, it's a different kind of wing.
- 21:08Speaker 1: But they they some people try to get away and
- 21:10Speaker 1: calling those buffalo. That's not buffalo buffalo. It's it's mixed
- 21:14Speaker 1: in after it's cooked. Yeah.
- 21:17Speaker 7: So this place that we like, like Jess grew up
- 21:20Speaker 7: in Connecticut, they they bake them twice, so they bake
- 21:24Speaker 7: them once, put the wings sauce on, and then they
- 21:26Speaker 7: throw them back in and it's they call them dirt wings,
- 21:29Speaker 7: and that like gets it to be that like extra crispy,
- 21:32Speaker 7: and like, yeah, okay, that's that's how you make a wing.
- 21:35Speaker 1: I like extra crispy. Yeah, And then of course you
- 21:38Speaker 1: have to have blue cheese.
- 21:40Speaker 7: You know.
- 21:40Speaker 3: I agree.
- 21:41Speaker 1: Some people have ranch. You know that's crazy. Brian Morey
- 21:45Speaker 1: has sour cream with his wings. He's like, don't knock
- 21:49Speaker 1: it until you try it to embarrass.
- 21:50Speaker 8: I mean, to be honest, sour cream's good on everything. Like,
- 21:53Speaker 8: I mean, I've had to like we've had whole like
- 21:55Speaker 8: taco night where we just don't have sour cream, and
- 21:57Speaker 8: I'm like, I gotta go get so you gotta get
- 21:59Speaker 8: a gotta get a dollar.
- 22:00Speaker 5: But you know it can't happen that when it can't
- 22:03Speaker 5: happen without all.
- 22:04Speaker 1: You gotta have fun.
- 22:05Speaker 7: Yeah, but Mexican white white people.
- 22:12Speaker 1: Yeah, you have your tacos, then you go to the
- 22:14Speaker 1: gap gap girls.
- 22:18Speaker 3: I like, yeah, I don't really use either one. But
- 22:21Speaker 3: Freddy gets really mad with the whole ranch blue cheese thing.
- 22:23Speaker 3: Oh yeah, Like if you're not doing it right, it's like.
- 22:26Speaker 1: A steak well done, then don't have a steak.
- 22:29Speaker 7: Yeah. I couldn't agree more with that one. We disagree
- 22:33Speaker 7: on flats versus wings.
- 22:34Speaker 5: But with steak.
- 22:35Speaker 3: That's nice that you guys could come together.
- 22:37Speaker 7: When I go out to dinner with like my extended
- 22:41Speaker 7: family for like a big birthday or something like that,
- 22:43Speaker 7: my mom's side of the family, well done. I me
- 22:46Speaker 7: and my dad want to walk out like we're embarrassed
- 22:48Speaker 7: to be with.
- 22:48Speaker 4: These people the same stuff.
- 22:51Speaker 7: Yeah, and they're like, oh, it's yours is so raw,
- 22:53Speaker 7: like no, mine has flavor, like mine is cooked properly
- 22:56Speaker 7: right right.
- 22:57Speaker 3: He's right.
- 22:59Speaker 5: I cannot get with them today.
- 23:01Speaker 1: Buffalo Yeah, back to Football Wings.
- 23:06Speaker 3: The one edition of Thursday PU Buffalo Wings.
- 23:10Speaker 8: I could do a quick, a quick aside quick. So
- 23:13Speaker 8: I was kind of bored last night watching baseball practice
- 23:17Speaker 8: and I watched my boy jt O Solomon did it
- 23:19Speaker 8: to just because the guy who called in yesterday kind
- 23:21Speaker 8: of ragging on two.
- 23:22Speaker 5: And I was like, all right, I'm just sitting here
- 23:23Speaker 5: and watching too. It's a good one. But it just
- 23:25Speaker 5: was interesting to watch.
- 23:27Speaker 8: I mean, it almost felt like this is like becoming
- 23:28Speaker 8: my Bob Ross, like just listening to him kind of
- 23:30Speaker 8: like talk about like NBC over there.
- 23:32Speaker 5: He's the anticipation, you know.
- 23:35Speaker 8: But Too was like, I'm sorry, like you can't just
- 23:38Speaker 8: take the quarterback out of the equation.
- 23:40Speaker 5: And be like, well, if any quarterback had good weapons,
- 23:42Speaker 5: they'd be really good.
- 23:43Speaker 8: Like like, there's a certain amount of skill that goes
- 23:45Speaker 8: into quarterbacking, and I just think it just reinforced for
- 23:48Speaker 8: me that two is on another level that we've never
- 23:50Speaker 8: seen Mac Jones ever even get close to. So I
- 23:53Speaker 8: know he's got a couple of weapons and blah blah blah,
- 23:56Speaker 8: but and he's playing in like the height of offensive
- 23:59Speaker 8: football and for that team right now. But he's he's
- 24:01Speaker 8: an excellent, excellent player that has a unique skill set
- 24:05Speaker 8: and is ideal fit for what they're doing.
- 24:07Speaker 5: So I just I don't buy these like cars.
- 24:09Speaker 3: I heard someone call in yesterday on my show Freda
- 24:14Speaker 3: and actually discredit to A because McDaniel runs an offense
- 24:20Speaker 3: that's completely catered to his skills.
- 24:23Speaker 1: Right, you know, most coaches don't do that, you know.
- 24:26Speaker 3: And I said that, I said, so, you said, you're
- 24:30Speaker 3: saying that he has skills like right, But whatever the
- 24:34Speaker 3: whole if you want to tell me that Mac could
- 24:36Speaker 3: do that, I can't argue that. I mean, I disagree,
- 24:40Speaker 3: but I can't really argue it right with any empirical
- 24:44Speaker 3: facts because he's never been in that system. He's never
- 24:46Speaker 3: worked with those players at the pro level. You might
- 24:50Speaker 3: be right, maybe if Mac was the quarterback of Miami,
- 24:53Speaker 3: they'd be four and two in scoring, you know, a
- 24:56Speaker 3: mill a five and one whatever they are, and scoring
- 24:58Speaker 3: a million points just like they are. I can't argue
- 25:00Speaker 3: with you. Yeah, I disagree with you. But what I
- 25:04Speaker 3: what I can argue is that tour is at least
- 25:07Speaker 3: partly responsible for how good they are.
- 25:09Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, I mean you've seen and you've seen it
- 25:11Speaker 8: with your own eyes, Like it's like, sure, Mac might
- 25:13Speaker 8: be Joe Montana for all we know.
- 25:15Speaker 1: He might be.
- 25:16Speaker 5: Yeah, you can't.
- 25:16Speaker 3: But I also watched a five or six game stretch
- 25:19Speaker 3: last year when Teddy Bridgewater, who was not as stiff.
- 25:23Speaker 3: He's like, maybe he's a little past his prime or
- 25:26Speaker 3: whatever you want to say.
- 25:27Speaker 4: It didn't look anything like that.
- 25:28Speaker 1: And when he played, and we were talking before the show,
- 25:31Speaker 1: Mac put up numbers at Alabama and he had great weapons.
- 25:34Speaker 1: Is see, he could do, but it's nothing like what
- 25:37Speaker 1: Too is doing in terms of the speed of the game,
- 25:40Speaker 1: the pressure he has to avoid. You know, a lot
- 25:42Speaker 1: of times Mack was thrown from a clean pocket to
- 25:45Speaker 1: guys that were wide open downfield. This it's different. It's different. Yes,
- 25:50Speaker 1: Mac did succeed it and he won a national championship
- 25:52Speaker 1: put up.
- 25:53Speaker 5: He was great.
- 25:53Speaker 1: Mac was great, but it wasn't the same as what
- 25:57Speaker 1: two is doing.
- 25:58Speaker 7: I think, you know with Max, you I don't know
- 26:02Speaker 7: ifs like Tua is I think the best anticipatory thrower
- 26:05Speaker 7: in the NFL right now. He makes throws like third window,
- 26:09Speaker 7: like the receiver still hasn't cleared like two defenders and
- 26:12Speaker 7: he's already throwing the ball now.
- 26:14Speaker 5: Granted, part of it.
- 26:15Speaker 7: Is because Tyreek is so fast that you know, he
- 26:17Speaker 7: can just tart through that, like he knows that he's
- 26:19Speaker 7: gonna get there in times, but like it's still the
- 26:24Speaker 7: he can see it like before it happens, right, And
- 26:27Speaker 7: like the anticipation that he throws the ball with is uncanny.
- 26:30Speaker 7: Like there's some throws and I think that that's what
- 26:32Speaker 7: makes up for the fact that he doesn't have the
- 26:34Speaker 7: biggest arm is because he's so early to everything.
- 26:37Speaker 8: That's why I com that was a good and and
- 26:41Speaker 8: you know the JT video, he's drawn like giant ace.
- 26:43Speaker 8: He's like anticipation, anticipation. However, you want to cut it.
- 26:46Speaker 8: Everything that Evan is saying was was exactly. But he
- 26:49Speaker 8: also said, and I thought that this was kind of interesting.
- 26:51Speaker 8: He said, when you throw it that much anticipation, sometimes
- 26:54Speaker 8: there's gonna be throws that look awful.
- 26:57Speaker 5: Because he's a little off.
- 26:58Speaker 8: You know, it's a little he's thrown to a spot
- 27:00Speaker 8: and it's like it just hits the dirt and you're like,
- 27:02Speaker 8: oh my god, what was that.
- 27:03Speaker 5: But you know, he just he missed someone. But that
- 27:05Speaker 5: happens when you have a player like that.
- 27:07Speaker 8: But it was just kind of and I'd recommend anybody go,
- 27:10Speaker 8: you know, go go check it out. We've just been
- 27:11Speaker 8: watching so much of the Patriots offense and how clunky
- 27:14Speaker 8: it's been, and you know, to really see just a
- 27:16Speaker 8: breakdown of an elite offense right now that is at
- 27:19Speaker 8: the pinnacle of production and execution, and to see how
- 27:23Speaker 8: on the same page the whole thing is and how
- 27:25Speaker 8: well they scheme it up to get defenses in a blender.
- 27:29Speaker 5: It's it was just.
- 27:30Speaker 8: You know, cool to watch and a reminder that you know,
- 27:32Speaker 8: there is very good football being played out there.
- 27:34Speaker 5: And it was also a little scary thinking on it, like,
- 27:37Speaker 5: oh boy, but I think we've gotten.
- 27:40Speaker 7: We've gotten some people that have said, you know, we've
- 27:42Speaker 7: been too harsh on Mac, and you know, it's Baille's fault.
- 27:45Speaker 7: And I think that could be true, I think, but
- 27:48Speaker 7: I think that there's two it's two separate arguments. Like
- 27:50Speaker 7: we all recognize that the setup that Mac Jones has
- 27:54Speaker 7: had the last two years has not been good enough
- 27:57Speaker 7: for him to succeed. We all can recognize that. But
- 27:59Speaker 7: compare him to Tua and like talking about you know,
- 28:04Speaker 7: are they the same player if they're in different situations
- 28:06Speaker 7: in each other's situations, Like that's a different argument than
- 28:10Speaker 7: saying that Bill has failed Mac as a GM and
- 28:14Speaker 7: as you know, the head coach of the football team,
- 28:16Speaker 7: to put you know, a serviceable offensive line in front
- 28:19Speaker 7: of him, to add weapons to the offense that he
- 28:22Speaker 7: can throw to, to not mess with his offensive coordinator
- 28:25Speaker 7: every single year, Like it's legit to say that Mac
- 28:28Speaker 7: he's under his third offensive coordinator in three years. That's
- 28:31Speaker 7: that's the playbook of how to ruin a quarterback. Like
- 28:33Speaker 7: that's whether maybe you can you know it promote from
- 28:37Speaker 7: within like the Bills did, and maybe it's a little
- 28:39Speaker 7: bit more seamless, but the Patriots didn't even do that.
- 28:42Speaker 7: They just have completely gone all over the place with it.
- 28:45Speaker 7: So those are all fair criticisms, but it's separate from
- 28:48Speaker 7: the fact of not giving two a credit for for
- 28:50Speaker 7: how good he's playing right now and how he was
- 28:53Speaker 7: playing last year too, before he got hurt.
- 28:55Speaker 1: Before he got hurt, he was he was lighting it up.
- 28:58Speaker 3: And that's where I sort of I looked at how
- 29:00Speaker 3: he was playing and I sort of wondered, But then
- 29:02Speaker 3: I watched how Miami played in his absence, and that's
- 29:05Speaker 3: when I said, I think he deserves more credit for
- 29:08Speaker 3: what they're doing than he gets.
- 29:10Speaker 8: And I mean, and maybe this is unfair, but I
- 29:12Speaker 8: just feel like, no matter what the situation is, you
- 29:14Speaker 8: need to see something from a quarterback, even if he's
- 29:17Speaker 8: in the worst situation in the league, Like there has
- 29:19Speaker 8: to be something to like say yeah.
- 29:22Speaker 1: But so like if you take two and you put
- 29:23Speaker 1: him in this situation with the Patriots, other than getting
- 29:27Speaker 1: a concussion, if you could avoid that, that anticipation is
- 29:31Speaker 1: exactly what a quarterback of this situation needs. He needs
- 29:35Speaker 1: to throw guys open, he needs to see the field.
- 29:37Speaker 1: It's not gonna look like Miami, but I think you
- 29:40Speaker 1: would have a little bit more production because that quarterback
- 29:43Speaker 1: is anticipating guys. You know, so, but I don't know,
- 29:47Speaker 1: maybe he could look just as bad. Like Paul said,
- 29:50Speaker 1: it's hard to argue either way because until you see it,
- 29:53Speaker 1: you can't prove it.
- 29:54Speaker 7: And you can make a really compelling argument that, you know,
- 29:57Speaker 7: the caller yesterday was right, because we make believe like
- 30:01Speaker 7: you're you're just you know, no one can actually definitively
- 30:04Speaker 7: say you're wrong. But I think with you know, with Tua,
- 30:07Speaker 7: his concussions have been an NFL problem for him, but
- 30:10Speaker 7: the real problem was his hip. Right, So he gets
- 30:13Speaker 7: hurt in college, he blows out his hip in college,
- 30:15Speaker 7: and I'd never thought that from that point on that
- 30:18Speaker 7: his arm strength was.
- 30:19Speaker 5: Ever the same.
- 30:20Speaker 7: If you go watch pre hip injury to at Alabama,
- 30:23Speaker 7: he is throwing the ball like a rocket all over
- 30:26Speaker 7: the field, you know, like he's got amazing arm talent
- 30:30Speaker 7: early on and out like.
- 30:31Speaker 3: Chad pen Yeah, so the Chad had a good arm, yeah,
- 30:35Speaker 3: coming out of Marshall and yeah, all those shoulder problems.
- 30:38Speaker 7: Yeah, I remember, you know, those like detailed things on
- 30:41Speaker 7: ESPN that they have that you know, coaches like Peyton
- 30:44Speaker 7: Manning does one does it a lot with quarterbacks, and
- 30:47Speaker 7: Nick Saban did one on Tua and he was like,
- 30:50Speaker 7: you know, breaking down like a double post concept and
- 30:52Speaker 7: he was like, you know, going through the reeds and
- 30:54Speaker 7: stuff like that, and he just said, like, we've never
- 30:57Speaker 7: had a quarterback until Tua that could make this this
- 31:01Speaker 7: deep post throw. Like this is this throw here he
- 31:03Speaker 7: comes off the left side and comes to the deep
- 31:06Speaker 7: post and rips a deep post like sixty yards down
- 31:09Speaker 7: the field. He's like, we you know, nobody else at
- 31:11Speaker 7: Alabama could do that, and that was pre hip injury.
- 31:14Speaker 7: Then he gets his hip, you know, hip gets thrown
- 31:16Speaker 7: out and his arm talent wasn't the same. I think
- 31:20Speaker 7: that this year his arm talent is as close to
- 31:23Speaker 7: back as to what it was pre hip injury as
- 31:26Speaker 7: I've ever seen. And so I think that that's part
- 31:29Speaker 7: of the thing that's going on is that he has
- 31:32Speaker 7: really basically retrained himself to throw with a different throwing
- 31:35Speaker 7: motion to put less stress on his hips, and it's
- 31:39Speaker 7: enabled him to regain some of that arm strength.
- 31:41Speaker 1: So well in his faith. When we're done with the show,
- 31:43Speaker 1: why don't you package it up and send it down
- 31:45Speaker 1: to Miami. They might want to put this show on there.
- 31:48Speaker 5: Well, all right, well we're gonna keep it going.
- 31:49Speaker 8: I got to just say this real quick, because just
- 31:51Speaker 8: as I went to look at Twitter, Mike McDaniel was
- 31:53Speaker 8: asked yesterday if he thought any QB could succeed in
- 31:57Speaker 8: this situation, and Mike McDaniel said, I'm about to push
- 31:59Speaker 8: this pot him over. My answer to that will be
- 32:01Speaker 8: who the f cares. I've coached a long time and
- 32:03Speaker 8: I haven't seen people do what our guys.
- 32:05Speaker 4: Do, so well to see I liked that answer.
- 32:08Speaker 3: I saw that earlier, and I just I liked it,
- 32:12Speaker 3: you know, like the the correct answers who cares? Like
- 32:15Speaker 3: I like the way my guy is operating in the system,
- 32:18Speaker 3: and that's all I have to worry about right now.
- 32:19Speaker 8: There's also just this thing that continues to happen where
- 32:22Speaker 8: it's like I said, like, it's, well, if you just
- 32:24Speaker 8: put any quarterback in the world with the best offensive line,
- 32:26Speaker 8: the best weapons, and oh, he'll be amazing.
- 32:29Speaker 3: Well, I think I think you're telling me that Tom
- 32:31Speaker 3: Brady wasn't special.
- 32:32Speaker 1: Yeah, but because I think I think there's some truth
- 32:36Speaker 1: to if you're if you're an NFL, if you're enough
- 32:39Speaker 1: to get drafted in the NFL. You're a good quarterback,
- 32:43Speaker 1: and I think if you have all the perfect stuff
- 32:45Speaker 1: you'll look you'll look good, but you won't look good
- 32:47Speaker 1: as Tom Brady or Joe you know, but of course
- 32:51Speaker 1: you'll look better if everything around you is perfect.
- 32:54Speaker 7: You know, I think the better comparison for Patriots fans
- 32:58Speaker 7: is more like brock Purdy, Like you know, like what
- 33:01Speaker 7: brock Purty is doing in San Francisco right now is
- 33:04Speaker 7: probably more reflective of what your argument is.
- 33:08Speaker 1: And this is with him.
- 33:10Speaker 5: Yeah, that could be true too.
- 33:11Speaker 7: Yeah, you know, Alex and I have have used the
- 33:14Speaker 7: Niners as like the pinnacle before the Dolphins, because the
- 33:17Speaker 7: Dolphins really just started breaking out this year, and like
- 33:20Speaker 7: that's the team that is quarterback proof, Like you can
- 33:24Speaker 7: put pretty much Jimmy Garoppolo, brock Purty, whatever, and because
- 33:29Speaker 7: of their weapons and their scheme and their offensive line,
- 33:32Speaker 7: it is at least productive with whoever is back there.
- 33:34Speaker 1: But if you're not a good quarterback, you know you're
- 33:37Speaker 1: gonna make mistakes and party up until just I think
- 33:39Speaker 1: he just threw his first interception. Maybe he wasn't making
- 33:42Speaker 1: mistakes either, but.
- 33:43Speaker 8: It's ridiculous that they're mentioning him as an MVP candidate
- 33:46Speaker 8: for those exact reasons.
- 33:47Speaker 1: You just, yeah that I wouldn't go this far.
- 33:50Speaker 3: I wouldn't.
- 33:51Speaker 4: I'm not sure that Tua is an MVP candidate.
- 33:53Speaker 3: I mean I if I had to vote now, I
- 33:55Speaker 3: know it's kind of a wasted vote, but I would
- 33:57Speaker 3: vote Tyreek Hill over to even right now. But that's
- 34:01Speaker 3: you know, like Cooper Kump had that year like with
- 34:03Speaker 3: winning a triple Crown and didn't really get serious consideration.
- 34:07Speaker 7: So offensive Player of the Earth.
- 34:09Speaker 3: So it's kind of like a wasted vote. But yeah,
- 34:11Speaker 3: I mean, Perdy's not at that level. But I am
- 34:14Speaker 3: curious to see how he continues to do this moving forward,
- 34:18Speaker 3: because they do. I mean, I did the numbers on
- 34:20Speaker 3: the Jimmy comparison, like the I did the previous twenty
- 34:24Speaker 3: games for Jimmy Garoppolo, and they scored on average like
- 34:29Speaker 3: six and a half more points per game in the
- 34:32Speaker 3: games that Perdy played, even over Jimmy. That's not even
- 34:34Speaker 3: taken to consideration that Nick Mullens and CJ. Bether with
- 34:37Speaker 3: the same talent was Yeah, Stiff's you know, Jimmy is
- 34:41Speaker 3: a good NFL quarterback, so obviously to Evan's point, it's
- 34:45Speaker 3: quarterback proof as long as long as you have an
- 34:48Speaker 3: NFL quarterback, Like I'm not sure that C. J. Bether
- 34:52Speaker 3: and Nick Mullens were good.
- 34:53Speaker 5: Enough sideline Jimmy, Yeah, yeah.
- 34:57Speaker 1: Mitch and Auban. He says, I think if Mack wants
- 34:59Speaker 1: to make big jump next season, he needs to follow
- 35:01Speaker 1: into his footsteps, go out in the off season, get
- 35:04Speaker 1: a full arm sleeve tattoo. Mac for sure will play
- 35:07Speaker 1: better next year if he does that. Okay, okay, I
- 35:11Speaker 1: like it.
- 35:11Speaker 3: The hip thing with him real quick too. I'd never
- 35:14Speaker 3: really even thought about it in terms of his arm strength.
- 35:17Speaker 3: I think that's a really different way to analyze it.
- 35:20Speaker 3: I always looked at because I thought he was another
- 35:22Speaker 3: one of these guys coming out, well, not coming out,
- 35:25Speaker 3: but at Alabama, it's gonna be another one of these
- 35:28Speaker 3: guys that runs around and can make plays and throws
- 35:30Speaker 3: it all over the place. And he never would be
- 35:33Speaker 3: the same without the mobility. He moves well in the pocket,
- 35:36Speaker 3: but he doesn't run anymore. At Alabama he was. He
- 35:39Speaker 3: was kind of a dual threat guy, and I just
- 35:42Speaker 3: figured that the the hip problem plus his size, I
- 35:45Speaker 3: don't think you would have held up if tried.
- 35:47Speaker 1: To Andrew in La. Wow, the Patriots is so bad.
- 35:50Speaker 1: We're onto off season wing talk after the six game Yeah,
- 35:55Speaker 1: chatting Atlanta. I understand the criticisms of the last coaching
- 35:58Speaker 1: staff and how they broke Mac. But one thing that
- 36:01Speaker 1: I observed that hasn't been safe since twenty twenty one,
- 36:05Speaker 1: it's max pre snap adjustments, audibles. What happened in twenty one.
- 36:08Speaker 1: It was amazing to watch Mac as a rookie make
- 36:11Speaker 1: checks and audibles that were successful. A lot of the time.
- 36:13Speaker 1: It seems like, and I could be wrong, none of
- 36:16Speaker 1: the checks I've seen him make as of late work
- 36:18Speaker 1: at all, and the play gets busted more often than not.
- 36:21Speaker 7: That's because the check said he like, it's different personnel,
- 36:24Speaker 7: right like he's made Last year, they didn't make any
- 36:27Speaker 7: checks because they didn't know how right like they just
- 36:28Speaker 7: that wasn't in the offense, right like, that just didn't exist.
- 36:32Speaker 7: They just want they called the play, they walked up
- 36:34Speaker 7: to the line of scrimmage and they snapped the ball
- 36:36Speaker 7: like that.
- 36:36Speaker 5: That was pretty much it last.
- 36:38Speaker 3: Year what we do.
- 36:38Speaker 7: But he does make a ton of checks now like that.
- 36:41Speaker 7: It's all on his plate now pre snap it just
- 36:43Speaker 7: hasn't worked.
- 36:44Speaker 3: That's where I read it. But someone was actually criticizing it,
- 36:47Speaker 3: like can they just get up and run the play?
- 36:48Speaker 7: Like I think that was jt o'sullivant, wasn't it.
- 36:50Speaker 3: Yeah, it wasn't because I don't I don't, Yeah, I don't.
- 36:53Speaker 3: I mean his stuff other than the fact that Mike
- 36:55Speaker 3: recites it to me, I do, I do? I do?
- 36:57Speaker 5: And I also saw brul Pepper's jt oh oh oh,
- 37:00Speaker 5: I got I got something on Peppers.
- 37:03Speaker 4: Oh no, I saw the tweet of you staring long.
- 37:07Speaker 5: Oh yeah, that was good.
- 37:08Speaker 8: But I also should tease on tonight's PU Very Special,
- 37:12Speaker 8: the first edition of Dissault and Pepper's Coming.
- 37:14Speaker 5: I got to interview Jabiril for the show. Yes, Workshop.
- 37:21Speaker 1: Peppers, I like it.
- 37:22Speaker 3: That was well done, right there, Michael.
- 37:25Speaker 5: To be honest, I tried.
- 37:27Speaker 8: I tried to, but I was dared to use that
- 37:30Speaker 8: in like the opening and I check it out.
- 37:31Speaker 5: I didn't.
- 37:31Speaker 8: I didn't actually say it in front of you, Berril,
- 37:33Speaker 8: because I was a little bit you know, I don't
- 37:34Speaker 8: want to come off to.
- 37:35Speaker 1: So you're not going to make this a series where
- 37:37Speaker 1: the two of you.
- 37:37Speaker 8: We'll see but check it out on. It'll be on
- 37:43Speaker 8: pictures dot Com too. Everybody knows how much I loved Peppers,
- 37:45Speaker 8: so you know, it was it was funny.
- 37:46Speaker 5: He's a good guy, he was.
- 37:47Speaker 4: Did you let him know how much you loved him?
- 37:50Speaker 5: I did.
- 37:50Speaker 8: I well, I was kind of trying to play it cool,
- 37:52Speaker 8: and I was like, I really enjoy watching.
- 37:54Speaker 5: You play, but that's subtle enough.
- 37:57Speaker 4: I went, he went all John Candy.
- 37:59Speaker 8: I was like, remember remember the time when you've not
- 38:02Speaker 8: hit on? Because Adams, what's the question? Although Paul I
- 38:06Speaker 8: didn't have you know, usually we get don or a
- 38:09Speaker 8: producer holding out the one minute, two minutes, let you
- 38:12Speaker 8: know how you go, and I'm like, I'm hoping I
- 38:15Speaker 8: went long enough because it felt pretty quick, you know,
- 38:17Speaker 8: like you don't you lose track of time when you're
- 38:18Speaker 8: doing interviews.
- 38:19Speaker 3: And I used to hate, you know, Andy and I
- 38:22Speaker 3: used to rotate all the time. And I think it
- 38:25Speaker 3: was four minutes?
- 38:25Speaker 2: Was that?
- 38:26Speaker 3: What were they looking for?
- 38:27Speaker 5: Two and a half? I still felt like, I'm like,
- 38:30Speaker 5: so we.
- 38:30Speaker 3: Used to do it and I'd be like and I'd have,
- 38:33Speaker 3: you know, all the questions in my head beforehand, and
- 38:37Speaker 3: it's a little bit different when you do it like
- 38:39Speaker 3: that because you have to listen to what he says,
- 38:41Speaker 3: and you're not necessarily preparing the next question, and then
- 38:44Speaker 3: you'd always inevitably forget something that you wanted to. And I
- 38:47Speaker 3: was like, you know, plus, you're trying to get them
- 38:49Speaker 3: in and out. You don't want to take up too
- 38:50Speaker 3: much time, and every time you're like, is that long enough?
- 38:53Speaker 1: Long enough?
- 38:54Speaker 5: I texted Don and the producer and I just said,
- 38:56Speaker 5: I hope I got you enough. I think it went well,
- 38:58Speaker 5: but we'll see. I'm sure, I'm sure Donald works the
- 38:59Speaker 5: man two and a half.
- 39:01Speaker 3: Maybe just down a little bit.
- 39:05Speaker 1: All right? Eight five five pass five hundred. Is the
- 39:07Speaker 1: A Stick and Hotline? Anything before we get to the
- 39:10Speaker 1: callers emailers? No, No, I think the picks today. Catch
- 39:15Speaker 1: twenty two follows that big day locker room. Yeah, okay, I.
- 39:21Speaker 5: Guess you won't be in there today. We're going to
- 39:22Speaker 5: come for a little bit like you won't.
- 39:24Speaker 3: I guess you won't.
- 39:26Speaker 1: Let's go to Mike in Connecticut on the A Stick
- 39:28Speaker 1: and Hotline. What's up? Mike?
- 39:30Speaker 12: Hey, you guys doing I think I was talked about
- 39:34Speaker 12: earlier in the week, but just going off to that
- 39:36Speaker 12: last email, I think that was red. You know, I
- 39:40Speaker 12: think a simple question but hard to answer. What does
- 39:42Speaker 12: Adrian Clem.
- 39:43Speaker 11: Even do here?
- 39:45Speaker 5: Coaches the offensive line?
- 39:48Speaker 11: But does he?
- 39:51Speaker 7: I mean, you asked what he did and I just
- 39:53Speaker 7: you know, I'm just being I'm being a I'm sorry,
- 39:56Speaker 7: but it just, uh, it's just crazy, you know. I've
- 40:00Speaker 7: I've written about this and talked about about Adrian Clem
- 40:02Speaker 7: and his job so far with this offensive line. I
- 40:07Speaker 7: definitely think the context of all the injuries and the
- 40:09Speaker 7: guys that have been in and out, you have to
- 40:11Speaker 7: throw that in there and give him that. But what
- 40:13Speaker 7: I am most disappointed about with Clem is that some
- 40:17Speaker 7: of the guys that have been playing pretty regularly, mainly
- 40:20Speaker 7: wan Antonio Maffi, like he's not getting any better. You know,
- 40:23Speaker 7: there's no there's really no development. And yeah, it's the
- 40:26Speaker 7: same mistakes on the stunts and things like that over
- 40:28Speaker 7: and over again, and eventually, you have you would like
- 40:31Speaker 7: to see some guys improve, Like I think a guy
- 40:34Speaker 7: like Mafi has some tools, like has some ability to
- 40:37Speaker 7: play guard in this league, and it's just been kind
- 40:39Speaker 7: of the same, especially in past protection and at some
- 40:42Speaker 7: point I would look at that, you know, Citisow is
- 40:44Speaker 7: another guy that I think, you know, you drafted him
- 40:46Speaker 7: in the fourth round, and he's got some tools, some
- 40:49Speaker 7: athletic ability. He was a good tester at the combine.
- 40:52Speaker 7: You know, why why hasn't he been on a more
- 40:56Speaker 7: upward trajectory. So I look at some of the younger
- 40:58Speaker 7: guys and would say that, But in terms of like
- 41:01Speaker 7: the overall play of the offensive line, I do think
- 41:03Speaker 7: you need to give Adrian Climb a little bit of
- 41:05Speaker 7: a of a caveat with all the injuries and stuff.
- 41:08Speaker 8: Yeah, do you feel like we're gonna see it makes
- 41:10Speaker 8: my cold strange anytime soon. Like I just I'm still
- 41:12Speaker 8: like perplexed by that whole situation. And I know he's
- 41:15Speaker 8: just hurt and that's really and he tried to come
- 41:17Speaker 8: back and it wasn't happening and maybe got rehurt.
- 41:19Speaker 5: But he's just one they feel like you gotta get
- 41:22Speaker 5: out there. This is year two. Like I just I
- 41:25Speaker 5: could use him.
- 41:26Speaker 1: You know, from the day that he got hurt in
- 41:28Speaker 1: training camp, you know, I thought, okay, you know, he's running,
- 41:31Speaker 1: he's jogging right, and it's just turned into this lingering thing.
- 41:34Speaker 5: Seemed like no, I think I'm okay.
- 41:36Speaker 8: I think I'm okay, Like that was what was going
- 41:37Speaker 8: through my head when I'm watching him like kind of
- 41:39Speaker 8: do his little kicksteps afterwards and stuff like you know
- 41:41Speaker 8: if you just like torn your moniscus, like you wouldn't
- 41:43Speaker 8: immediately walk back out onto the field and start trying
- 41:46Speaker 8: to like, you know, kick step.
- 41:47Speaker 1: Because if you recall that day Paul I was giving
- 41:49Speaker 1: people blow by blow of what was going on with Cole.
- 41:52Speaker 1: He's now in the training room, He's sitting on the table,
- 41:55Speaker 1: He's got his pants on, his ankle.
- 41:57Speaker 5: Thrilling radio.
- 41:58Speaker 3: Oh I do remember that day.
- 41:59Speaker 5: Who what are they checking that out for?
- 42:01Speaker 7: I just yeah, I cold strange. I mean, we don't
- 42:03Speaker 7: have to keep beating the dead horse on that draft pick.
- 42:05Speaker 7: But good job, Bill.
- 42:07Speaker 3: Well can I I just wonder if maybe, you know,
- 42:09Speaker 3: he's a little undersized in terms of you know, his
- 42:12Speaker 3: bulk and strength, and I just wonder, you know, if
- 42:15Speaker 3: he's one of those guys not being one hundred percent
- 42:19Speaker 3: is really exacerbates his limitations.
- 42:21Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, Todd and Garner or Gardner is a gardener
- 42:26Speaker 1: North Carolina. I know it's Todd. Oh, it's it's that
- 42:29Speaker 1: tot Hey Tod, Hey man, I don't.
- 42:33Speaker 13: Even want to talk about past, but I love one
- 42:36Speaker 13: thing right now and that's you guys. You guys keep
- 42:37Speaker 13: us going. You give us the tidbits. You're talking about
- 42:40Speaker 13: the whole NFL. We don't have much speak side about here,
- 42:42Speaker 13: but you guys give us to You give us buffalo.
- 42:45Speaker 13: You discuss stuff that's going on. And man, it's hard.
- 42:48Speaker 13: It's really hard to go through this and listen to
- 42:50Speaker 13: all this. And did you guys make it bearable?
- 42:53Speaker 1: All right?
- 42:53Speaker 5: Yeah, sure you make You're making me blussed, thank you.
- 42:58Speaker 1: I mean, listen, you know, what do we have to
- 43:01Speaker 1: be mad about? You know, like you can be mad
- 43:03Speaker 1: because they're not winning, but at the end of the day,
- 43:05Speaker 1: like we still have a job to do.
- 43:08Speaker 3: You know, in a lot of ways, our job doesn't
- 43:10Speaker 3: change now it obviously it's it can be challenging to
- 43:13Speaker 3: come up with different things to sort of accentuate and.
- 43:16Speaker 5: It's not as fun.
- 43:17Speaker 1: It's not as fun going to Super Bowls and that,
- 43:20Speaker 1: but you still got to bring your a game.
- 43:21Speaker 8: I just like, I honestly kind of feel bad for
- 43:23Speaker 8: Evan just because I know how much you love studying
- 43:26Speaker 8: the film and you, I mean, that's just what you're
- 43:27Speaker 8: passionate about and you're not breaking down good film that.
- 43:30Speaker 3: If he wants to go back and preview the twenty
- 43:34Speaker 3: eighteen AHC Championship game in Kansas City and break it down,
- 43:38Speaker 3: you should.
- 43:38Speaker 1: You should have been here in seven when we're in
- 43:41Speaker 1: the midst of it and all of a sudden you realize, wow,
- 43:44Speaker 1: this this team's a wagon and we're watching, you know,
- 43:48Speaker 1: because on the TVs you got ESPN on it, all
- 43:50Speaker 1: of a sudden on their crawl there's a section Patriots
- 43:54Speaker 1: or what I forget what they called it. It was
- 43:56Speaker 1: like a permanent section on their feet and.
- 43:59Speaker 3: Watch or something.
- 44:00Speaker 1: Yeah, something like that. It's like, whoa, we know you
- 44:02Speaker 1: made it. When even ESPN is on the Perfection one
- 44:06Speaker 1: Path to Perfection.
- 44:06Speaker 3: Well that was the shows that I used to do
- 44:08Speaker 3: on Comcast at the time, NBC Sports Boston, Like I
- 44:12Speaker 3: would go in and they had the regular night shows
- 44:14Speaker 3: that they have now even but they had a separate
- 44:17Speaker 3: one called Path to Perfection and they had like a
- 44:20Speaker 3: whole different group of guys. Like it was unreal.
- 44:22Speaker 5: Was that just one show or was that a weekly
- 44:24Speaker 5: kind of it was on all the time. It was
- 44:25Speaker 5: one every week because there.
- 44:27Speaker 8: Was also like a special they did Path to Perfection,
- 44:30Speaker 8: and I like bought a bootleg off of eBay because
- 44:32Speaker 8: I wanted.
- 44:32Speaker 5: You could have.
- 44:35Speaker 1: You know, but it was I mean you would have
- 44:37Speaker 1: you would have been going crazy with that.
- 44:40Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 44:40Speaker 7: It just you know, I think that there's a lot
- 44:43Speaker 7: of value in people that try to do what I
- 44:46Speaker 7: I do. Like, I try to do what I'm saying
- 44:48Speaker 7: because like, what is going wrong is some people do
- 44:52Speaker 7: want to know that sort of stuff. But when I think,
- 44:55Speaker 7: what makes it so challenging when you watch their film
- 44:57Speaker 7: right now is that there's so much going wrong. So
- 44:59Speaker 7: it's like what do you focus on? You know, when
- 45:02Speaker 7: you start to talk about the offense, it's like, you know,
- 45:04Speaker 7: you could point to pretty much, you know, ten guys
- 45:06Speaker 7: on some plays and be like you all were wrong
- 45:08Speaker 7: on this play, So like, how where do you even
- 45:10Speaker 7: begin to start? It gets a little bit overwhelming. When
- 45:13Speaker 7: things are going well, it's easy, like it's just you know,
- 45:16Speaker 7: here's a touchdown pass and here's why it happened. But
- 45:18Speaker 7: when things are going poorly, that's just Yeah, That's what I.
- 45:21Speaker 8: Was thinking when I watched because I watched the two one,
- 45:22Speaker 8: I also watched Josh Allenan and I was just you know,
- 45:24Speaker 8: I was thinking of you being like, you know, because
- 45:26Speaker 8: Jjo's Albm's going crazy about how well this is executed
- 45:28Speaker 8: and drawn up and everything, and I'm like, you know,
- 45:30Speaker 8: thinking like this is what Evan wants to be doing.
- 45:32Speaker 8: He wants to be watching offenses that are on the
- 45:34Speaker 8: cutting edge and doing these kind of crazy things.
- 45:37Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, from top to bottom.
- 45:39Speaker 1: SPIE's and Fresno.
- 45:40Speaker 5: Thanks for your sympathy at this time.
- 45:42Speaker 11: Hey touch on the wings thing first second question, Okay,
- 45:50Speaker 11: thank you. So I'm more I'm more of a drum
- 45:54Speaker 11: with person. But the other day some friends kind of
- 45:58Speaker 11: convinced me and I tried, Fred, try your approach with
- 46:00Speaker 11: a flat like sucking it off.
- 46:03Speaker 3: Excuse me, I'm sorry what.
- 46:07Speaker 1: Faith cover your ears.
- 46:11Speaker 11: Technique problems though, So I think when you when you
- 46:15Speaker 11: put in your mouth, you like bite it like at
- 46:17Speaker 11: the very like which end in which side? How do
- 46:19Speaker 11: you flip it if you have the flat side under
- 46:21Speaker 11: your top road?
- 46:21Speaker 1: Yeah, if you look, if you look at the flat
- 46:24Speaker 1: there's one side, one end that comes apart easier. That's
- 46:28Speaker 1: the end that goes in first. You pinch, you pinch
- 46:31Speaker 1: at the other end. And Mike mentioned the tongue. Don't laugh,
- 46:34Speaker 1: But the tongue is involved. You have to get the
- 46:37Speaker 1: tongue in between to get it.
- 46:40Speaker 3: We do it.
- 46:41Speaker 1: Well, this is this is the technique, man, this is it.
- 46:44Speaker 5: You know, and you're finished with the squirrel.
- 46:46Speaker 1: Yeah, I also have that's the move. I also have
- 46:49Speaker 1: a technique for steamers if you're interested. But you know
- 46:52Speaker 1: we're on wings, so you know.
- 46:56Speaker 11: But you know, you don't up what cardial is in
- 46:58Speaker 11: your mouth.
- 46:58Speaker 1: If you do cardlis, you could. It depends on the quality,
- 47:03Speaker 1: depends on the quality of the chicken.
- 47:05Speaker 3: But you know, I might not want to put this
- 47:08Speaker 3: one up for a podcast.
- 47:12Speaker 11: Well I'll tell you what. The show is great regardless
- 47:15Speaker 11: of the chicken. But hey, I I wanted to ask
- 47:19Speaker 11: about with the trade deadline coming up, isn't it like halloweens?
- 47:22Speaker 5: Not when it is correct?
- 47:24Speaker 11: Okay, So I I think a thing I'd like to
- 47:28Speaker 11: see would be, you know, you have some some guys
- 47:31Speaker 11: like Henry Mills, dougg Er, like it's just maybe born.
- 47:37Speaker 11: Maybe you'd like to see some of those guys, a
- 47:40Speaker 11: couple of them go for some draft picks, maybe mid
- 47:44Speaker 11: round draft picks. That'd be that'd be great. And I
- 47:47Speaker 11: just don't. I don't know. I'm just I think that
- 47:49Speaker 11: Bill would rather just lurch forward with things as they
- 47:52Speaker 11: are and kind of do nothing. And I'm wondering what
- 47:54Speaker 11: you realistically.
- 47:55Speaker 5: Expect him to do nothing? Realistically be surprised.
- 48:00Speaker 3: I think there's a chance you might see a guy go,
- 48:02Speaker 3: but I wouldn't can I wouldn't think like an overhaul
- 48:06Speaker 3: or I agree with him.
- 48:07Speaker 1: So by the time drafted, like comes, what's the worst record?
- 48:10Speaker 3: The Patriots could have one and seven one?
- 48:12Speaker 1: So it's it's three after three games away or two
- 48:15Speaker 1: games Miami in Miami. So if you are one and seven,
- 48:19Speaker 1: there's no hope, right, So I mean they could.
- 48:24Speaker 5: I just don't know if I really like.
- 48:27Speaker 4: Ten and seven would still be in play.
- 48:28Speaker 1: But it's true, that's true.
- 48:30Speaker 7: With the way that the team is going and the
- 48:32Speaker 7: way that impossible this is all going with Bill. I
- 48:36Speaker 7: just if if I'm craft like I'm saying to him,
- 48:39Speaker 7: like just do nothing, like don't like don't touch anything,
- 48:42Speaker 7: you know, because like you start you start trading guys,
- 48:46Speaker 7: and like do we know we know of Bill's history?
- 48:49Speaker 7: Would trade sometimes? Like is that really the best compensation
- 48:52Speaker 7: you could have gotten for josh U j or are
- 48:54Speaker 7: you just like trading him to one of your buddies
- 48:57Speaker 7: like he did with Jimmy Garoppolo right Like it just
- 48:59Speaker 7: I don't don't know if I really necessarily trust Bill
- 49:03Speaker 7: to get the best return on all of these guys
- 49:05Speaker 7: right now, and I would be wary of giving him
- 49:08Speaker 7: any sort of GM power to go out and move guys. Now,
- 49:11Speaker 7: if you're telling me that Macro is the personnel guy
- 49:14Speaker 7: after Bill, and you've given the power to mac Row
- 49:17Speaker 7: to go and shop those players, and like, maybe that's
- 49:20Speaker 7: a different story. But if Bill's the one that's pulling
- 49:22Speaker 7: the trigger on the trade and the return, I am
- 49:25Speaker 7: skeptical about that.
- 49:27Speaker 10: Ye.
- 49:28Speaker 11: Yeah, But news is that we can get you stuff
- 49:33Speaker 11: for the just game Week seventeen. That's gonna be a
- 49:35Speaker 11: big one.
- 49:35Speaker 1: Guy absolutely toilet bowl. All right, thanks to be excited.
- 49:39Speaker 3: I thought the Kendrick Borne comments yesterday were interesting. Yeah,
- 49:43Speaker 3: him talking about the trade deadline and it is on
- 49:45Speaker 3: his mind and so it's not just stuff that we
- 49:48Speaker 3: throw out there. Obviously the players are thinking about it too,
- 49:50Speaker 3: more some of them.
- 49:51Speaker 7: Anyway, He's the one guy and maybe Ooch, but I
- 49:54Speaker 7: Kendrick Bourne's the one receivers always go for a ton
- 49:57Speaker 7: at the deadline for teams that are you know, real
- 50:00Speaker 7: teams that have Super Bowl aspirations that I think that
- 50:03Speaker 7: we're just one piece away on offense from having enough.
- 50:06Speaker 7: Like I feel like a team like Kansas City calling
- 50:08Speaker 7: the Patriots and offering something for Kendrick Bourne wouldn't be
- 50:11Speaker 7: crazy at all.
- 50:12Speaker 5: Oh Miicole Hartman, right, they had to get him back.
- 50:14Speaker 8: It would just be funny to me though, if like
- 50:16Speaker 8: Kendrick Bourney had what like nine catches last week and
- 50:18Speaker 8: maybe like you know, has like nine catches this week
- 50:20Speaker 8: and you know, productive against Miami finally like and then
- 50:23Speaker 8: they just then that and then that's what he goes like,
- 50:25Speaker 8: he finally produces a little bit and then then he's gone.
- 50:27Speaker 1: By the way, speed was online three sounded okay? Yeah?
- 50:30Speaker 5: Ok.
- 50:32Speaker 1: Chris with a T I A N says it was
- 50:34Speaker 1: Pursuit of perfection on ESPN. Pat's chasing the seventy two dollars.
- 50:39Speaker 5: That is path pursuit.
- 50:41Speaker 4: No, but the path to perfection was the Comcast show.
- 50:43Speaker 5: Oh okay, I told you I was on it. You
- 50:45Speaker 5: were buying bootleg I'm going to bring in my bootlegs.
- 50:47Speaker 3: You were buying bootlegs to watch meleg which is very flattering,
- 50:51Speaker 3: thank you very much. But it was the Christian path
- 50:54Speaker 3: to perfection, Pursuit of perfection. I was on like literally
- 51:01Speaker 3: on the scroll on the cross, and you know it
- 51:03Speaker 3: would be like MLB, NBA, NHL Pursuit of perfection.
- 51:09Speaker 4: That was like one of the tabs that went around.
- 51:12Speaker 1: So like, if you're not a Patriots fans, you're like,
- 51:14Speaker 1: what do I.
- 51:14Speaker 3: Care about this?
- 51:15Speaker 1: What are they doing? You know?
- 51:17Speaker 3: But we were loving it, like like halfway through the year.
- 51:20Speaker 3: It was like eight, eight or nine, and oh.
- 51:22Speaker 1: What game did you guys? Finally someone's paying attention to us?
- 51:25Speaker 8: What game that season did you guys? Just realize, like
- 51:27Speaker 8: this is like video game? This is ridiculous. Week two
- 51:30Speaker 8: is that of San Diego? After that we won well,
- 51:34Speaker 8: Week one bombs away to Moss against the Chest.
- 51:36Speaker 4: That was that was one game when they did exactly
- 51:38Speaker 4: the same thing in Week two.
- 51:39Speaker 3: The three of us after this could be different. This
- 51:43Speaker 3: they like, this offense is ridiculous.
- 51:46Speaker 1: Remember Gil, So we're so we get to the Super
- 51:49Speaker 1: Bowl and it's in Arizona, right and we're doing Patriots
- 51:53Speaker 1: back then it was PFW in progress. But we're doing
- 51:55Speaker 1: the live show and Gil Santos is kind of hanging
- 51:59Speaker 1: out and just watching us, and said, Gil, come on over,
- 52:02Speaker 1: here goes Fellows. When I saw them in training camp
- 52:05Speaker 1: on the first day, I knew this team would never
- 52:08Speaker 1: lose a game.
- 52:08Speaker 3: No, it was the third preseason game, third quarter. Yeah,
- 52:15Speaker 3: the offense stayed out because back then the third preseason
- 52:18Speaker 3: game was the little dress so they have They had
- 52:22Speaker 3: the offense come back out after the half and they
- 52:25Speaker 3: just ran the ball and they ran it right down
- 52:27Speaker 3: the field. They had this great drive with almost all runs.
- 52:31Speaker 3: I knew then this team could go undefeated.
- 52:35Speaker 8: Didn't even see We're like, okay, what do you say
- 52:39Speaker 8: after they Fred's rolling?
- 52:44Speaker 1: But yeah, but and that's the thing, you know, like
- 52:47Speaker 1: some people said, oh when they got Moss, I knew.
- 52:50Speaker 1: Nobody knew. Nobody said it at that time. Nobody knew
- 52:54Speaker 1: they were going to be that great.
- 52:55Speaker 3: He didn't even play in the preseason, right, nobody knew that.
- 52:57Speaker 1: All these people that It's like the people all the
- 53:00Speaker 1: people that were at Ted Williams last at bat, you know,
- 53:03Speaker 1: everybody was there and all these people I was saying it,
- 53:06Speaker 1: you know, back in the stuff, they were gonna be good.
- 53:08Speaker 1: Nobody said that back then, nobody knew.
- 53:11Speaker 3: I gotta give Andy credit. I think Andy was the
- 53:13Speaker 3: first of the three of us that said this team
- 53:15Speaker 3: can go undefeated. Yeah, and he said it pretty quick.
- 53:19Speaker 1: I remember being just excited, not betore of the season.
- 53:22Speaker 4: No, this was like the San Diego.
- 53:24Speaker 8: Yeah, I remember just being excited when they signed Dante Stalwarth.
- 53:27Speaker 5: I think he might have been even maybe.
- 53:30Speaker 8: Finally, you know, like no idea what Welker and Moss
- 53:33Speaker 8: would even end up being.
- 53:35Speaker 1: Uh, let's go to Mike and Arizona.
- 53:37Speaker 4: You know what's that my clips of Welker for me
- 53:39Speaker 4: that those don't those don't do it all?
- 53:42Speaker 5: Right?
- 53:45Speaker 14: At what point do you think Bill will finally make
- 53:47Speaker 14: the decision to Ben Mack and have dam Beat or
- 53:52Speaker 14: Cunningham take the rein the way the season is going,
- 53:55Speaker 14: I watched all the games.
- 53:57Speaker 11: Mac has struggled so much time.
- 53:59Speaker 15: Moving the ball.
- 54:00Speaker 13: At what point in time do you think that will happen?
- 54:03Speaker 5: I might be wrong. I don't think I don't think
- 54:05Speaker 5: it's gonna happen.
- 54:05Speaker 7: I just don't know what difference it makes. Yeah, Like
- 54:08Speaker 7: they're not gonna miraculously put Bailey Zappi in this in
- 54:10Speaker 7: the game and he's going to rattle off seven straight
- 54:12Speaker 7: wins and they're going to be in the playoffs.
- 54:14Speaker 1: So like I just, I mean, it's end as long
- 54:17Speaker 1: as Mac is running the plays, and he's going to
- 54:20Speaker 1: stay in there.
- 54:21Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, I think I think I think he
- 54:23Speaker 3: can make a change, Yeah, to Zappi or probably not
- 54:26Speaker 3: to cunning him, to Greer, to Will Greer. Yeah, at
- 54:30Speaker 3: some point, at some point if he thinks that Will
- 54:32Speaker 3: Greer is sufficiently prepared.
- 54:34Speaker 4: I can't see it being cunning him because he just
- 54:36Speaker 4: hasn't played.
- 54:37Speaker 3: Any quarterback and I clearly don't think they have any
- 54:40Speaker 3: use for Zappy.
- 54:41Speaker 5: So is it just because he's an unknown quantity?
- 54:43Speaker 1: Yeah, let's see what the kid do. Yeah, he's actually
- 54:46Speaker 1: he's older than Mac, isn't he will?
- 54:48Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 54:49Speaker 4: Same, Yeah, he's older years older.
- 54:52Speaker 5: Yeah, class now nineteen draft.
- 54:55Speaker 1: But you know, to to Paul's point or to Eva's point,
- 54:59Speaker 1: to what end? Okay, so you bench Mack.
- 55:01Speaker 3: That's not just gonna say, but it's not about like
- 55:04Speaker 3: I think everybody looks at it that way, like, well,
- 55:05Speaker 3: they're not gonna win get well, they're not winning games anyway,
- 55:08Speaker 3: I know, So why not see if you have something
- 55:11Speaker 3: like this is my argument from twenty twenty, Like maybe
- 55:14Speaker 3: Stidham could have been something.
- 55:16Speaker 4: I don't know. Maybe he was a stiff, but I
- 55:19Speaker 4: don't know.
- 55:20Speaker 3: He played a couple of games for the Raiders last
- 55:21Speaker 3: year and looked alright, maybe if you got that in
- 55:23Speaker 3: twenty twenty, I just by twenty two, you know, he
- 55:27Speaker 3: would he could have been a serviceable starting quarterback.
- 55:30Speaker 7: Why not if you're gonna switch quarterbacks, I just like,
- 55:32Speaker 7: why not have done it already? Like I guess maybe
- 55:34Speaker 7: the argument is that Will Greer wasn't ready, but like, yeah,
- 55:37Speaker 7: switching quarterbacks for a one in seven team like just
- 55:40Speaker 7: doesn't do anything for me. Like, if that's what you
- 55:42Speaker 7: want to do, then fine, But if you didn't bench
- 55:44Speaker 7: Mack after how he played in Dallas and then and
- 55:48Speaker 7: then compounded by how he played against New Orleans, like
- 55:51Speaker 7: at this point, it's just kind of like, all right,
- 55:53Speaker 7: you clearly don't think anything of the other guys on
- 55:56Speaker 7: the team.
- 55:56Speaker 3: If that he clearly didn't feel like he had an option,
- 55:58Speaker 3: then But I'm saying, like, you know, three weeks from now,
- 56:01Speaker 3: maybe he would feel like Greer is an option.
- 56:03Speaker 4: Maybe probably not. You guys are right, probably.
- 56:05Speaker 7: But no, it's not that I don't think that Will
- 56:07Speaker 7: Greer could possibly be better. I just don't at that point,
- 56:11Speaker 7: I just don't really care like it just you know
- 56:13Speaker 7: What's I Will Greer is not the future quarterback of
- 56:16Speaker 7: the Patriots.
- 56:17Speaker 5: Like he's not.
- 56:17Speaker 7: He's not going to be the quarterback in twenty twenty
- 56:19Speaker 7: four of the Patriots.
- 56:20Speaker 3: I know that.
- 56:21Speaker 1: So what, Maybe Bill O'Brien says, I just want to
- 56:25Speaker 1: see how this offense would look with somebody else.
- 56:30Speaker 3: I think what Evan just said his probably has a
- 56:33Speaker 3: ninety nine point ninety nine percent chance of being accurate.
- 56:35Speaker 3: But let's just say, you know me, I love to
- 56:39Speaker 3: be that.
- 56:39Speaker 8: At that point, Oh oh oh why I love to
- 56:42Speaker 8: be the turn the poser is the quarterback in twenty
- 56:44Speaker 8: twenty four.
- 56:44Speaker 5: We're in trouble.
- 56:45Speaker 3: No what if Will Greer, let's just say, for arguments,
- 56:48Speaker 3: say plays the last eight games of the season and
- 56:52Speaker 3: plays exceptionally well in his brock Purty. Now I'm not
- 56:56Speaker 3: saying you go eight, No, maybe you go three and
- 56:59Speaker 3: five because I just don't think the team is all
- 57:01Speaker 3: that good.
- 57:02Speaker 5: But he plays really well.
- 57:05Speaker 3: The still no interest?
- 57:06Speaker 7: No why because I'm going I'm taking Drake May, like
- 57:10Speaker 7: I like just because no, like maybe like Will Greer,
- 57:16Speaker 7: if you want to convince me that he's going to
- 57:18Speaker 7: be here next year, as like you know, case Drake
- 57:22Speaker 7: May isn't ready and you need to start another guy
- 57:25Speaker 7: for three or four weeks, like I guess I could
- 57:27Speaker 7: convince my I think I you know, some people have said, well,
- 57:30Speaker 7: why can't Mac be that that bridge?
- 57:32Speaker 3: Right?
- 57:32Speaker 5: I don't want Mackett being that.
- 57:34Speaker 1: But what if what if you know, what if Will
- 57:36Speaker 1: Gret comes in and wins four or five games and
- 57:38Speaker 1: now you're out of the Drake May.
- 57:40Speaker 7: Running even even worse, like even worse like.
- 57:44Speaker 3: What I agree with you, It will be a worse scenario,
- 57:49Speaker 3: does it? What if he did win games?
- 57:51Speaker 5: But do you were three and five? But we don't
- 57:54Speaker 5: need Drake May, now I do?
- 57:56Speaker 1: I do.
- 57:56Speaker 3: Look at the whole Will thing is the is the
- 57:58Speaker 3: it's the the epitome of that thing that we've never
- 58:01Speaker 3: seen and don't know.
- 58:02Speaker 5: It's the mystery bot, correct, right, and everybody's convinced.
- 58:05Speaker 3: I mean it is his fourth team? Yeah, in three years, right,
- 58:09Speaker 3: he went to Carolina, ended up in Dallas, went to Cincinnati.
- 58:14Speaker 4: Now he's on the Patriots.
- 58:15Speaker 1: Will get him. We'll get him.
- 58:16Speaker 5: If Will Grear magic.
- 58:18Speaker 7: If Will Grear is starting for this team in week
- 58:21Speaker 7: one and next year, I am out, like big capital
- 58:25Speaker 7: letters out out. I would rather mac Jones start next
- 58:30Speaker 7: year week one, then will Greer in, assuming that they
- 58:34Speaker 7: actually do something on offense in the offseason.
- 58:37Speaker 3: What do you think the chances are that mac Jones
- 58:39Speaker 3: is the week one starter in twenty four? Fifty to fifty?
- 58:43Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, yeah, who do you think ready?
- 58:47Speaker 1: I'd say fifty to fifty because even if you get
- 58:49Speaker 1: a young guy, maybe he don't start him right away.
- 58:51Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 58:52Speaker 8: Yeah, I just think he's on the team. I mean,
- 58:53Speaker 8: I don't know it's the head coach unless you really.
- 58:55Speaker 5: Like that's that's a good question. I think that's a debate.
- 58:58Speaker 8: If a new coach were to come in, would they say,
- 59:00Speaker 8: let's just get rid of him, we got to start over,
- 59:02Speaker 8: or would they say, we.
- 59:03Speaker 5: Have, you know, a former first round pick.
- 59:05Speaker 8: He's not terrible, and he's on a manageable contract, and
- 59:08Speaker 8: we need depth, and maybe he doesn't win and maybe
- 59:10Speaker 8: he ends up a backup, or you know, we cut
- 59:12Speaker 8: him in the summer, but let's at least keep him
- 59:14Speaker 8: around for training camp and see.
- 59:17Speaker 1: No, I think he'd be a great backup. I don't
- 59:20Speaker 1: because of his personality. You wouldn't want to be a backup.
- 59:24Speaker 5: Yes, he's an alpha dog.
- 59:25Speaker 7: I wouldn't call him an alpha dog, but I think.
- 59:27Speaker 3: He's got You gotta refer to yourself as mac.
- 59:30Speaker 5: I think he's wired.
- 59:31Speaker 7: I just got to be like a starter. And I
- 59:33Speaker 7: think that if you tried to make him the backup,
- 59:35Speaker 7: he would be miserable.
- 59:37Speaker 1: Yeah, could be. Let's go to Matt in Virginia Beach.
- 59:42Speaker 1: What's up, Matty?
- 59:45Speaker 16: Can you hear me?
- 59:45Speaker 1: Yep? Have you been to Pocahontas at Virginia Beach? No,
- 59:52Speaker 1: it's a little uh like kind of breakfast joint. They
- 59:55Speaker 1: have lunch too, but they're known for breakfast right on
- 59:57Speaker 1: the strip there.
- 59:57Speaker 4: They have no Did they have flats?
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: I think they have flasks that you can It's good.
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: It's a good place anyway.
- 1:00:04Speaker 15: All right, all right, but yeah, first time a caller,
- 1:00:08Speaker 15: long time listener.
- 1:00:09Speaker 17: Nice.
- 1:00:09Speaker 15: It might get loud because I work on a jet
- 1:00:11Speaker 15: base on a sailor station here.
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: Okay, thank you for your service, Oh, thank you.
- 1:00:16Speaker 15: But I was gonna tell you guys, ask you guys
- 1:00:19Speaker 15: this now, let's say we are a top five pick.
- 1:00:23Speaker 15: Are we gonna get like Kirk Cousins in the pre
- 1:00:27Speaker 15: agency or somebody like him, and try to get like
- 1:00:30Speaker 15: a left like a tackle or a wide receiver, or
- 1:00:34Speaker 15: do you guys think we're actually gonna get a quarterback?
- 1:00:36Speaker 15: Would that be make more sense? Like that's where I'm torn.
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: I think if I think, if you love either may
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: or Williams and you can get them, then you get them.
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: You know, you get the quarterback, right, I'm with you
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: on that, But I don't know what they how they
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: feel about these guys, this regime, and and again like
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: is it gonna be this regime making the pick? There's
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: so much there's so much matt unknown about this offseason
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: right now.
- 1:01:03Speaker 7: I think where that's the trouble that I have is
- 1:01:05Speaker 7: like without knowing who's in charge next year, starting to
- 1:01:09Speaker 7: answer all these i'd get people why people have the
- 1:01:12Speaker 7: draft questions and we can talk about the players just
- 1:01:15Speaker 7: separate from what the Patriots might do, But we get
- 1:01:18Speaker 7: these types of questions a lot of like would you
- 1:01:20Speaker 7: take the tackle the receiver of the quarterback, Like what
- 1:01:22Speaker 7: would you do? And it's like, well, I don't know
- 1:01:23Speaker 7: who's gonna be in charge. So I can't really give
- 1:01:26Speaker 7: like a big opinion on it because if Bill's back,
- 1:01:32Speaker 7: then I actually think that Mac will be the quarterback
- 1:01:34Speaker 7: next year.
- 1:01:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:01:36Speaker 15: So yesterday, Evan, I was worried about them. If they
- 1:01:40Speaker 15: do pick a quarterback, it'd be deja vu.
- 1:01:42Speaker 5: All over again.
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: Yeah, who does he play for?
- 1:01:46Speaker 9: Who?
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: Deja vu?
- 1:01:49Speaker 5: French?
- 1:01:49Speaker 9: Just kidding.
- 1:01:50Speaker 5: No, I'm very worried about that as well.
- 1:01:52Speaker 8: I just I wonder too, like what kind of dynamic
- 1:01:54Speaker 8: it sets up with Carolina potentially having you know, top
- 1:01:58Speaker 8: two picks throughout the right Chicago, you know, is that
- 1:02:02Speaker 8: is something in play there? You're only going to draft
- 1:02:04Speaker 8: one quarterback? I mean, I guess maybe at that point,
- 1:02:06Speaker 8: are you going to just blow it up and take Like.
- 1:02:08Speaker 4: No, I think they would take a quarterback in Harrison,
- 1:02:10Speaker 4: yeah if.
- 1:02:11Speaker 5: I mean, if it holds, can't trade. But what if
- 1:02:13Speaker 5: you're like at fifth, you know, and you want to
- 1:02:16Speaker 5: get right now?
- 1:02:17Speaker 8: So like, could you, like I just guess what I'm
- 1:02:20Speaker 8: work shopping, Like, would it make it possible with them
- 1:02:24Speaker 8: having two picks in the top five more likely to
- 1:02:26Speaker 8: get up and get one of the quarterbacks?
- 1:02:28Speaker 7: I guess is that the first pick overall pick will
- 1:02:30Speaker 7: be Caleb Williams to Chicago. If they have the second
- 1:02:34Speaker 7: overall pick too, that pick will be traded with the
- 1:02:37Speaker 7: third overall pick. The third overall pick will take a
- 1:02:40Speaker 7: quarterback there, probably Drake May, and then Chicago will take
- 1:02:42Speaker 7: Marvin Harrison Junior at number three. Like you know, so
- 1:02:45Speaker 7: I think the Flora bidding war to do that. Yeah,
- 1:02:48Speaker 7: I think they'll move off of number two to get
- 1:02:51Speaker 7: the assets for number two. But you have to take
- 1:02:54Speaker 7: the quarterback first, right, Like it's like what Houston did
- 1:02:57Speaker 7: last year. They took Stroud first and then they trade
- 1:03:00Speaker 7: up to draft will Anderson.
- 1:03:01Speaker 3: And to Evan's point, you don't. You can't get too
- 1:03:03Speaker 3: cute because like, let's just say you did trade with
- 1:03:06Speaker 3: the Patriots at six. If that held, well, now you're
- 1:03:09Speaker 3: not guaranteed to get Marvin Harrison, right, you know, so
- 1:03:11Speaker 3: you can't even if the Patriots want to give you
- 1:03:15Speaker 3: a lot, you have to keep the guy in mind
- 1:03:18Speaker 3: that you want. So, Fred, you're just preparing me now
- 1:03:21Speaker 3: for we're going to have like eight months of this
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: talk and you're gonna tell me, well, that's like if
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: they like the guy, yeah, right, Like, because we're never
- 1:03:29Speaker 3: going to assume that they didn't like the guy they took.
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: Right, I know, Okay, no, but I'm just saying, like.
- 1:03:33Speaker 3: If one of the guys they like is there, they
- 1:03:35Speaker 3: got to take him. I'm like, but do you think
- 1:03:37Speaker 3: they should take them?
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: And that's what I'm just talking particularly quarterback. Yeah, you know,
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: if you have a chance to get the quarterback you like,
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: you go get him. Same thing as a head coach.
- 1:03:45Speaker 3: I know, but I'm not trying to get into the
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: head of Bill Belichick or whoever ends up making the
- 1:03:50Speaker 3: pick to find out what he likes, to figure out, like,
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: I will not be able to know that.
- 1:03:54Speaker 8: It's just crazy to me imagining that a team could
- 1:03:58Speaker 8: literally get Caleb Williams and an elite receiver. I mean,
- 1:04:01Speaker 8: just two of the hardest pieces to find. Boom boom,
- 1:04:05Speaker 8: right right there in the top of that draft. I mean,
- 1:04:06Speaker 8: you talk about a team that should tank.
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: And then Patriots, then you gotta pay them in four years.
- 1:04:11Speaker 5: I'll enjoy the four years.
- 1:04:12Speaker 3: I'll worry imagine that there's still people that do that. Yeah,
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: and you're right, yeah, you'd hear that.
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: Oh yeah, good.
- 1:04:17Speaker 8: Luck, good good luck paying them in four years from now,
- 1:04:20Speaker 8: when there's even a league.
- 1:04:23Speaker 3: As Fogs says, let me see a cocktail map out.
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: How you do it?
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: Matthews in New Mexico? What's up, Matthew?
- 1:04:31Speaker 6: You guys are I haven't any one of those questions.
- 1:04:34Speaker 6: I know it's hard to answer, like Evan said, not
- 1:04:38Speaker 6: knowing who the regime is. But if we're in like
- 1:04:41Speaker 6: that late teams like seven, eight nine, and the quarterbacks
- 1:04:44Speaker 6: are gone, and like Morgan Harrison, would you trade assets
- 1:04:49Speaker 6: for Kyler Murray? Well, that's too much of the questions.
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: No, no, no, I think, thanks Matthew, I wouldn't.
- 1:04:56Speaker 3: I think about it?
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: You would?
- 1:04:58Speaker 3: Yeah? I mean I wouldn't broke I wouldn't break the bank.
- 1:05:01Speaker 3: Let's do this, I wouldn't break the bank for it.
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: Let's say Chicago's going for a quarterback. Would you do
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: something to get Justin Fields?
- 1:05:06Speaker 3: Sure?
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: See that I might. I kind of like him more
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: than Kyler Murray. I know Murray's done more in the league,
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: no doubt about it.
- 1:05:15Speaker 5: Now.
- 1:05:15Speaker 3: It would cost you a lot less to get Justin
- 1:05:17Speaker 3: fields than it would Murray.
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: That's part Yeah, so.
- 1:05:19Speaker 4: You know, but I'd be interested in both of those guys. Absolutely.
- 1:05:23Speaker 8: Wow, it's crazy both fields and Mac might be gone
- 1:05:25Speaker 8: from their teams.
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: Just like that.
- 1:05:26Speaker 4: Yeah, and Lance's already has already gone.
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: Yeah three years later. See, we got the best quarterback.
- 1:05:33Speaker 5: Said Jacksonville.
- 1:05:34Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, yeah, said Jacksonville. And no one else because
- 1:05:40Speaker 3: the other four probably are not happy.
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: Adam and Roswell Georgia. These shows always helped the workday
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: go quicker. I'm already looking forward to next Tuesday's open
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: with clips of Fred describing his technique of eating flats.
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: No question for me. I'm all in for Tank Nation.
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: Not sure that we'll get that that will get us,
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: but at least we'll make the draft more exciting. I'll
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: be rooting for wins from the Panthers, Giants, Broncos, Cardinals,
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: and Bears. The rest of the way Panthers, Giants, Broncos, Cardinals,
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: and Bears teams that have wonerful zero losses. Y Aaron
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: Harper writes in assuming we're picking in the top five,
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: I was hoping Caleb Williams would be our pick, but
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: with the nil contract thing, it's hard to see him
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: wanting to be here, especially at the Vikings. With Justin
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: Jefferson is picking in the top five as well. Could
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: you see him pulling an Eli Manning. I say that
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: to say this is, is there another QB or player
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: you'd look forward to picking in the top five of
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: the draft?
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: Drake May? But yes, I think that's a concern and
- 1:06:44Speaker 3: I can see him doing an Eli Manning.
- 1:06:46Speaker 8: I'm not going to really concern myself too much about
- 1:06:48Speaker 8: Caleb Williams. I mean, I think that he's going to
- 1:06:50Speaker 8: be the first thing he's got to be. I don't
- 1:06:52Speaker 8: think the Patriots are going to have the first O
- 1:06:53Speaker 8: world pick, and I think they'll just you know, like Chicago,
- 1:06:57Speaker 8: it'll probably be down. So I don't I'm not going
- 1:06:59Speaker 8: to spend too much time like thinking wondering about him.
- 1:07:01Speaker 8: I mean, May is certainly.
- 1:07:03Speaker 3: Yeah, in my concern with him is less about the
- 1:07:06Speaker 3: nil because I think that's a little bit of bluster.
- 1:07:09Speaker 3: He's going to make more money in the pros than
- 1:07:10Speaker 3: he would stay in like whatever. But I do think
- 1:07:13Speaker 3: there are the reason that he's doing all this stuff,
- 1:07:16Speaker 3: and to a lesser extent, the stuff about an ownership
- 1:07:19Speaker 3: stake is he's trying to put it out there that
- 1:07:22Speaker 3: I'm not just going to go anywhere that drafts me. Yeah,
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: like if I don't like it, I'm not going to
- 1:07:27Speaker 3: go there, And he's trying to make it known that
- 1:07:29Speaker 3: he's going to do something like that. So now when
- 1:07:32Speaker 3: push comes to shove, does he follow through with it?
- 1:07:35Speaker 3: I think he's the worm is starting to turn a
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: little on him. I think he's starting to get some
- 1:07:39Speaker 3: criticism from people now about some of these things, you know,
- 1:07:43Speaker 3: sort of in a sense of entitlement before he's really
- 1:07:45Speaker 3: done anything. But I do think that there's a chance
- 1:07:49Speaker 3: that he could do with Eli Manning or an L Way.
- 1:07:51Speaker 8: I know that that's happened before. I mean you said
- 1:07:53Speaker 8: Eli Manning in lway, which covers you know, the generations.
- 1:07:55Speaker 8: But you know, do you think that the NIL deals
- 1:07:58Speaker 8: and that is empowering players more or to say I'm good?
- 1:08:02Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: I just think even without the NIL, I think just
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: players are different. Now, guys are different.
- 1:08:07Speaker 5: You know.
- 1:08:07Speaker 3: Look, I say this all the time. These these guys
- 1:08:12Speaker 3: now grow up having attended two or three high schools,
- 1:08:15Speaker 3: two or three colleges, and then they go to the
- 1:08:17Speaker 3: pros and you're just going to say no, no, no, no,
- 1:08:19Speaker 3: like they drafted you. That's where you have to go. Well, no,
- 1:08:23Speaker 3: I mean I played for that AAU program one year,
- 1:08:25Speaker 3: and then I played for this one the next and
- 1:08:27Speaker 3: when I went to the transfer portal, and I could
- 1:08:29Speaker 3: do whatever I wanted, right.
- 1:08:31Speaker 5: Yeah, and I'm a million.
- 1:08:33Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't have to worry about money right now.
- 1:08:35Speaker 3: My I already bought my parents a home with the
- 1:08:38Speaker 3: nil money that I made, So why do I have
- 1:08:40Speaker 3: to go to the place that I don't want to go?
- 1:08:42Speaker 8: You think you would have gotten an ideal NL dealing that.
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: Oh, absolutely he would have, but they would have paid
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: him in sub food. Yeah's nothing wrong with that college.
- 1:08:52Speaker 4: Steak and cheese.
- 1:08:54Speaker 3: Absolutely.
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: Nyon Northeast Pennsylvania. As everyone becomes more critical of the
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: coaching staff, the Patriots one in five record has me
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: looking at stats I normally wouldn't care about. I happened
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: to catch a couple snaps from a few Falcons games
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: over the past few weeks A few weeks, and John
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: hus Smith caught my eye. By no means is he
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: lighting the world on fire? But I looked it up
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: and confirmed that he has more yards and touchdowns after
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: six games this season than he had the whole last
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: season with the Patriots. I know Paul always admired Smith's athleticism.
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: Where do you guys think the disconnect is with the
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: current coaching staff and their personal decisions schemes for certain players.
- 1:09:34Speaker 3: This is a great question that I don't have an
- 1:09:35Speaker 3: answer to. But John HU Smith, who I never thought
- 1:09:40Speaker 3: when they signed him was a great player, but he
- 1:09:43Speaker 3: was the player that he is now in Tennessee, and
- 1:09:47Speaker 3: something happened in the two years in New England where
- 1:09:49Speaker 3: he didn't even approach that. And I would say same
- 1:09:52Speaker 3: to a lesser extent with Nelson Agalor yep, who I
- 1:09:55Speaker 3: always thought was sort of just blah. He was fine
- 1:09:58Speaker 3: with the Eagles and with the and he came to
- 1:10:01Speaker 3: the Patriots and they were flashes. He was. I think
- 1:10:03Speaker 3: Aglo was a better Patriot than John O. Smith was
- 1:10:06Speaker 3: in my mind, but it still didn't look like it
- 1:10:10Speaker 3: did when he was with his previous teams. And now
- 1:10:13Speaker 3: he's gone again and back to being that reasonably productive
- 1:10:17Speaker 3: guy again. The email will put it perfectly. They're not
- 1:10:20Speaker 3: setting the world on fire, But I think Jon O.
- 1:10:23Speaker 3: Smith would be the leading receiver for the Patriots right
- 1:10:26Speaker 3: based on numbers.
- 1:10:27Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, and it's it's I think you're so right.
- 1:10:30Speaker 8: It is such a difficult question to tackle because he
- 1:10:32Speaker 8: never like even just watching him in the practice field,
- 1:10:35Speaker 8: and maybe.
- 1:10:35Speaker 5: That never looked right, never looked really athletic.
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: Always look you don't.
- 1:10:38Speaker 3: Remember some of those like shallow crosses that he practice.
- 1:10:43Speaker 3: Not in games.
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: Ye, well that one preseason game. You're like, wow, that's.
- 1:10:47Speaker 5: Why they brought him right like three times. But no,
- 1:10:50Speaker 5: you're right, you're right, especially during like.
- 1:10:52Speaker 4: He never looked like that during the game ever.
- 1:10:54Speaker 5: Nope, I don't know. That's a good question.
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: Ben and Brooklyn, your coverage has been excellent lately. Thank you,
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: Thank you. I wanted to add a slight wrinkle. Although
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: I agree there been issues with the roster building philosophy,
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: Has effort execution been a factor as well? Not only
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: have they lost Monty Robinson and Casario, but I wonder
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: if Bill has pulled back in recent years. There was COVID,
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: he turned seventy and maybe wants to relax a bit.
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: Is it possible he got used to scar making chicken
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: salad with wrestlers, et cetera, and thought to himself, we
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: can just send a couple of folks to the Senior
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: and Shrine Bowls. Has the organization simply spent fewer man
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: hours on personnel? No?
- 1:11:33Speaker 3: No, I don't think that's true. I do think that
- 1:11:37Speaker 3: the brain drain part of that at the beginning of that,
- 1:11:40Speaker 3: that's probably got some relevance.
- 1:11:41Speaker 8: Like bigger effect you think on the overall personnel decisions
- 1:11:44Speaker 8: or game day preparation, like you know what I mean,
- 1:11:49Speaker 8: those two.
- 1:11:49Speaker 3: Kind of no well personnel. He just rattled off three
- 1:11:51Speaker 3: guys that you know, we were part of it, you know,
- 1:11:55Speaker 3: you know, the Zieglers and the Casarios and the austin
- 1:11:58Speaker 3: Forts and the Robinson's. You know that that it maybe
- 1:12:02Speaker 3: one didn't really matter, but over the span of ten years,
- 1:12:05Speaker 3: losing four or five guys takes a toll. And I
- 1:12:09Speaker 3: think now they're sort of rebuilding that a little bit
- 1:12:11Speaker 3: with Matt grow and Elliott Wolf and you know, Cam
- 1:12:14Speaker 3: Williams and those guys. They're trying to get back to
- 1:12:19Speaker 3: sort of that comfort level with one another. But they
- 1:12:22Speaker 3: haven't been together that long this group.
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: Did. Did Albert Breer have a report recently about Belichick
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: and Robert Craft or no?
- 1:12:31Speaker 8: I thought just the one I don't know was he
- 1:12:33Speaker 8: was he the one that he's not afraid to fire
- 1:12:34Speaker 8: him was Jeff Howell?
- 1:12:36Speaker 5: Oh sorry, No, I don't know this.
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: Writer Brandon from Hickory, North Carolina. I says, what did
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: you hear about? What do you oh? Did you hear
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: the report from Breer about moving on from Belichick saying
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: it could be a flat out firing. I didn't, did not.
- 1:12:53Speaker 5: I didn't hear that.
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: No, I didn't.
- 1:12:56Speaker 3: No, And I haven't really the stuff really it from
- 1:13:00Speaker 3: from Craft and Belichick everything. I've seen everything, and I
- 1:13:03Speaker 3: didn't see that. I haven't seen really anything attributed to anybody,
- 1:13:09Speaker 3: like I call it like that, Jeff how report to
- 1:13:12Speaker 3: me was like a Seinfeld episode. It was like a
- 1:13:14Speaker 3: report about nothing.
- 1:13:16Speaker 5: Like YadA ya YadA.
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:13:17Speaker 3: I think if you think they won't do it, you
- 1:13:19Speaker 3: got another thing coming, Okay. I mean, I'm not telling
- 1:13:23Speaker 3: you what's gonna happen because I don't know. I'm not
- 1:13:25Speaker 3: making fun of anyone's report, because if I had a report,
- 1:13:28Speaker 3: I'd be putting something out there. I don't ya, that's
- 1:13:32Speaker 3: probably not truely probably wouldn't, but just saying, you know, but.
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: You get the point.
- 1:13:36Speaker 3: I don't. I have no idea what Robert Craft is
- 1:13:38Speaker 3: thinking in regards to the future of the head coach.
- 1:13:42Speaker 5: I just struggle to see.
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: Yeah, Connor and Rhode Island brings up a point that Paul,
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: you and I were talking about, and it's critical to
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: what's gonna happen. He says, I heard an interesting thought earlier.
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: No one knows how many years are left on Bill's
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: contract and how much money is guaranteed. What if he
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: has three years left with sixty million or more guarante,
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: he can Craft really fire him if he's owed all
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: that money. It's a good point.
- 1:14:03Speaker 4: Yeah, well that was our jumping off point on my
- 1:14:06Speaker 4: show yesterday.
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: Yeah, nobody knows the contract status, so we don't know
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: how much or little leverage Bill has.
- 1:14:11Speaker 8: Well, I would I would hope, I mean whenever, because
- 1:14:13Speaker 8: I mean it's you know, he's been gone five years.
- 1:14:15Speaker 8: Like I would guess that some point within that range,
- 1:14:18Speaker 8: like the contract was maybe redone or resigned or a
- 1:14:21Speaker 8: new contract was given. Like I would just I just
- 1:14:23Speaker 8: wonder if the Crafts had the foresight of we're giving
- 1:14:26Speaker 8: Bill a contract that's going to take him past Brady
- 1:14:29Speaker 8: and there's going to be major changes.
- 1:14:30Speaker 5: That he's going to have to deal with.
- 1:14:32Speaker 8: I would just I would hope that they protected themselves
- 1:14:34Speaker 8: and weren't just you know, I mean, it's got to
- 1:14:36Speaker 8: be hard to do when you're negotiating contract with somebody
- 1:14:38Speaker 8: been paying for twenty years, and every time you get
- 1:14:40Speaker 8: a contract, it's more money. But I just I wonder
- 1:14:43Speaker 8: if they left themselves some wiggle rooms, some outs, those
- 1:14:45Speaker 8: kind of things. It seems like they're pretty smart with that.
- 1:14:47Speaker 3: So I mean, just looking at it from a common
- 1:14:49Speaker 3: sense perspective, I can't imagine they looked at it and said,
- 1:14:54Speaker 3: he's going to be in his early seventies, let's extend
- 1:14:57Speaker 3: him out, you know, five years beyond that. Yeah, four
- 1:15:01Speaker 3: years beyond that. Now I have no idea what the
- 1:15:03Speaker 3: term is, and I think that is the email or
- 1:15:05Speaker 3: nails it because you can talk about how easy it
- 1:15:08Speaker 3: is to move on from Bill Belichick, but that's a
- 1:15:12Speaker 3: different thing when you're talking about having to pay him
- 1:15:14Speaker 3: that kind of money. I think he is the highest
- 1:15:15Speaker 3: paid coach in sports, so if he has three or
- 1:15:19Speaker 3: four years left, that's a lot of money. It's easy
- 1:15:22Speaker 3: for us to say, well, you got to you know,
- 1:15:24Speaker 3: you got to rip off the band aid.
- 1:15:25Speaker 5: And that probably be wiggle room.
- 1:15:26Speaker 8: And that's why I just I continue to think the
- 1:15:28Speaker 8: most likely scenario, if this word to be it, is
- 1:15:31Speaker 8: at the end of the season, they work out a deal.
- 1:15:33Speaker 8: You know if whatever the contract money is, hey, we'll
- 1:15:35Speaker 8: give you this, how about that, you know, and that
- 1:15:37Speaker 8: it'll just be all worked out. It'll all be friends,
- 1:15:39Speaker 8: and you know, he'll go as way.
- 1:15:40Speaker 3: I feel moving on.
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: Oh, it's still going to be a hit to the pocketbook.
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: Oh yeah, if he has years left.
- 1:15:47Speaker 3: But let's just say it's like two years, twenty five million,
- 1:15:50Speaker 3: and you know, maybe you sit down and say we'll
- 1:15:52Speaker 3: give you half or we'll give you thirty fifty or
- 1:15:55Speaker 3: something like that, you know, and you don't have to
- 1:15:57Speaker 3: fire him. It's a mutual parting of the ways kind
- 1:15:59Speaker 3: of deal whatever. And then it's if he wants to
- 1:16:02Speaker 3: keep coaching, then that's offset too. You know, there's gotta
- 1:16:04Speaker 3: be some offset language. And then now it be ironic
- 1:16:07Speaker 3: if Bill ended up coaching like the Cowboys, and Cowboys
- 1:16:10Speaker 3: paid him like five million to coach as opposed to
- 1:16:13Speaker 3: the twenty five million or whatever.
- 1:16:15Speaker 8: Is there any other profession that coaching when you're in
- 1:16:17Speaker 8: your seventies and you're still just pulling in millions and
- 1:16:19Speaker 8: millions of dollars, Because like, at a certain point, I'm
- 1:16:21Speaker 8: just like, how much more money do you need? Your
- 1:16:22Speaker 8: only area around for like twenty more years. You're already
- 1:16:24Speaker 8: millions and millions you need like, well, I need more
- 1:16:26Speaker 8: money like for what?
- 1:16:28Speaker 5: Like what it would like to pass on to the
- 1:16:29Speaker 5: you know, to the foundation, Like I don't know, did.
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: Food get here yet?
- 1:16:33Speaker 9: Faith?
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: No, because we got picks.
- 1:16:35Speaker 5: Coming pizza time? Call him up.
- 1:16:36Speaker 4: Yeah, it's a funny, uh funny comment on the.
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: Phone, Screener micah in Boise Parsons says, I used to
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: be afraid of letting Belichick go because I'd be scared
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: to see him coach against us. However, that fear is fading.
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: I don't think he builds a highly talented team, and
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: now even his offensive game plans to flawed. My questions
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: are these, who would take him? And would you be
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: afraid to face Thanks for your great coverage, You were
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: by far the most honest outlet for Patriots News I
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: have ever found. Wow, now that that is probably the
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: biggest compliment we've ever received. Yeah, I mean, or among
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: the best. You're welcome, you know, it's you know, that's
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: something I.
- 1:17:17Speaker 4: Wouldn't be overly afraid to face him.
- 1:17:19Speaker 3: I gotta be honest with you.
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: I think it'd be fun as hell.
- 1:17:21Speaker 5: Oh yeah, well, I have fun with it.
- 1:17:24Speaker 3: Having fun now, Fred, I gotta be honest with you,
- 1:17:27Speaker 3: and Fred probably feels different about this. I did not
- 1:17:30Speaker 3: enjoy the Tuna Bowls in any way.
- 1:17:31Speaker 5: Shape or for Oh.
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: I mean, I was a nervous wreck.
- 1:17:34Speaker 3: I had a pit in my stomach the whole time,
- 1:17:36Speaker 3: and you know I didn't like that.
- 1:17:39Speaker 5: But at this stage, I don't really fear.
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: My mind is much.
- 1:17:43Speaker 8: My mind wouldn't go so much immediately to having to
- 1:17:45Speaker 8: face him or play him. It would just be I'm
- 1:17:47Speaker 8: excited to watch all the changes that have to occur
- 1:17:50Speaker 8: for that football team in terms of everything from top
- 1:17:53Speaker 8: to bottom, from what they're presenting on social media, and
- 1:17:56Speaker 8: you know, right on down the line of all the
- 1:17:58Speaker 8: control that they've had here, how is that gonna How
- 1:18:01Speaker 8: would that translate to another team coming in right off
- 1:18:03Speaker 8: fresh and be like, thinks you're gonna a little bit
- 1:18:05Speaker 8: different around here now, you know, how does that go?
- 1:18:07Speaker 3: And the other part of why wouldn't be overly fearful
- 1:18:10Speaker 3: is because like at the time in ninety seven, the
- 1:18:12Speaker 3: Patriots were at the top of the AFC, they were
- 1:18:14Speaker 3: the defending AFC champs. They had a really good team,
- 1:18:19Speaker 3: and they're supposed to win.
- 1:18:20Speaker 5: Yeah, right, pressure.
- 1:18:21Speaker 3: It wouldn't be like that if let's say Belichick went
- 1:18:24Speaker 3: to Dallas. You know, Dallas is a really good team,
- 1:18:28Speaker 3: and Belichick would make them better because he'd button it
- 1:18:31Speaker 3: up and you know all that stuff. Dallas would supposed
- 1:18:34Speaker 3: to be beating the Patriots. It wouldn't give me that
- 1:18:38Speaker 3: ajita that I got back in the Tunabuls.
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: Yeah, the almost that first game against Parcels here, I
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: went to overtime.
- 1:18:45Speaker 3: Yeah, the Patriots won it, but I felt like a loss.
- 1:18:47Speaker 3: Well not for me, no, I know, but I mean
- 1:18:50Speaker 3: there was no reason for that game to be an older.
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: Time for me, like we make fun of other teams
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: or they beat the Patriots like their super Bowl. For me,
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: that was like winning the super Bowl, you know, like
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: it was such a relief to have won that game.
- 1:19:02Speaker 5: You know, well at that point that was close.
- 1:19:04Speaker 3: She got so.
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: Evans going to get food. You don't have to play it.
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: Go ahead, get the food, get the She's like.
- 1:19:14Speaker 7: What's more important the food or the food?
- 1:19:18Speaker 5: The jingle? The jingle?
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: What's Evan's back going back.
- 1:19:22Speaker 7: And the rest of the yow he's trained, he can
- 1:19:26Speaker 7: do it anyways.
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: Uh.
- 1:19:28Speaker 7: Patriots practice on Thursday. Better attendance on Thursday. I'm not surprised.
- 1:19:33Speaker 7: Jonathan Jones, Trent Brown, Hunter, Henry All return to Patriots practice,
- 1:19:39Speaker 7: Josh j Riley Reef and Kean White still missing. I mean,
- 1:19:43Speaker 7: is not gonna play on Sunday. H j and Riley
- 1:19:46Speaker 7: Reef also not there. But you get three three starters back,
- 1:19:49Speaker 7: so that's good. And Jones, Trent Brown, and Hunter Henry Okay, good.
- 1:19:53Speaker 5: All right, Mood. I didn't mean to yeh, whoa, whoa.
- 1:19:58Speaker 7: Don't step on you know, and I just yeah, look,
- 1:20:01Speaker 7: Alex extracted from a charity event.
- 1:20:06Speaker 5: I would just say that.
- 1:20:07Speaker 7: With Trent Brown, it is just not at all surprising
- 1:20:12Speaker 7: that he was at practice. I knew he was going
- 1:20:14Speaker 7: to be a practice by you yesterday. Yeah, he's not missing. No,
- 1:20:17Speaker 7: I knew he was going to be there by Friday.
- 1:20:19Speaker 7: But you know, he seems to be on one of
- 1:20:21Speaker 7: those like veteran like I'm just gonna show up when
- 1:20:24Speaker 7: I need to show up type of schedules and.
- 1:20:26Speaker 5: Like you're our only tackle. Do what you want.
- 1:20:28Speaker 7: Yeah, basically we'll still give you to an extra with
- 1:20:31Speaker 7: U is rain.
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: Expected for Sunday A little bit.
- 1:20:35Speaker 5: I'm a little bit an eye on it. Yeah, it
- 1:20:36Speaker 5: seems more rare. No, the move was not affected.
- 1:20:40Speaker 7: There were some really bad sandwich takes though that I
- 1:20:43Speaker 7: do not approve of. So that was some slander for
- 1:20:48Speaker 7: the boys down the street at Jersey.
- 1:20:52Speaker 3: Barthday names barth Day, Yeah, and from Alex because I'm
- 1:20:57Speaker 3: a little you know, I'm a huge fan, maybe an
- 1:21:00Speaker 3: Evan type fan of Jersey Mikes.
- 1:21:01Speaker 4: But I do think this, I think really what happened?
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: I think I think you think they've expanded too fast,
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: because finding good help these days is not.
- 1:21:10Speaker 8: Your Fred You're right, Oh, we don't even I'm just
- 1:21:16Speaker 8: gonna say you guys are like any.
- 1:21:18Speaker 10: Fast food establishment restaurant.
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: Is just they're having trouble because of help, right, finding.
- 1:21:25Speaker 7: Good now no anyways, good job, don't try, don't anything.
- 1:21:31Speaker 7: Good job, Alex, but yeah, Alex, and and and one other.
- 1:21:36Speaker 7: In turn, Mike thinks that the Angelo's is better than
- 1:21:39Speaker 7: Jersey Mike's, which is probably the worst take I've ever heard.
- 1:21:42Speaker 3: Okay, that is utterly ridiculous.
- 1:21:46Speaker 5: It's a horrible take. I like the Angela's Turkey. I'm
- 1:21:49Speaker 5: not gonna you also like Subway too, thank you?
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: Well, listen the end the day that the the' angelo's
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: number nine pocket was to die for, but they've gone downhill.
- 1:22:00Speaker 7: It is a brutal opinion to say that d'angelo's is
- 1:22:03Speaker 7: better than Jersey Mike's.
- 1:22:04Speaker 4: If you want to like a bread sub, I mean.
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: Can I have extra bread?
- 1:22:10Speaker 7: Were speaking the same language.
- 1:22:12Speaker 5: The role is like this, yeah, sorry, go to camerass
- 1:22:16Speaker 5: my one.
- 1:22:16Speaker 3: I need one give and it's there's not a lot
- 1:22:22Speaker 3: of not a lot of substance. Now Jersey Mike's. The
- 1:22:26Speaker 3: sub is not the biggest sub that I've ever had,
- 1:22:28Speaker 3: but it is loaded.
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: It's loaded.
- 1:22:30Speaker 8: You said it though, fred I, And that's the theory
- 1:22:32Speaker 8: I've been working on that that COVID broke.
- 1:22:34Speaker 5: I would say seventy five percent of restaurants. Restaurants are
- 1:22:37Speaker 5: still going.
- 1:22:38Speaker 4: I broke back to I broke mac Mountain.
- 1:22:40Speaker 5: It's so hard.
- 1:22:41Speaker 7: Actually his best year was during the COVID.
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: So hard to.
- 1:22:44Speaker 10: My favorite restaurants did not make it out.
- 1:22:47Speaker 7: Which ones they're just like.
- 1:22:50Speaker 4: Oh that doesn't count.
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: Well, I mean those are those, but well, my one
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: of my favorites didn't make it. Arthur Is and Hopboken.
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: It hasn't opened yet.
- 1:22:58Speaker 8: No Wedge Salad, but even the one that are still going,
- 1:23:00Speaker 8: especially like I would say, like the Applebee's of the world,
- 1:23:03Speaker 8: those kind of places, Like it's just the service. They're over,
- 1:23:06Speaker 8: they're understaffed, they're stressed out, your food is usually wrong,
- 1:23:11Speaker 8: and just like you're like, I can't believe I'm.
- 1:23:14Speaker 5: Right, but that's what I mean. Like they're still open,
- 1:23:17Speaker 5: but they're just not good.
- 1:23:18Speaker 8: Pizzas are here, So you got to go to like
- 1:23:20Speaker 8: fancy places and they have real waiters and real like
- 1:23:22Speaker 8: food and everything.
- 1:23:23Speaker 7: If you're going to go to that level, then Chili's
- 1:23:26Speaker 7: number one.
- 1:23:26Speaker 3: Chili's has definitely dropped.
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: We could go on forever, but we will after the break, Paul,
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: can I have a slice?
- 1:23:33Speaker 4: Yeah, you have your pizzas in here. I already said that.
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: When we come back, we're gonna have to hurry because
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: we've got the pick.
- 1:23:40Speaker 18: So right after this, as I think back over the
- 1:23:47Speaker 18: past few seasons, I wanted to thank my most trusted
- 1:23:51Speaker 18: game day teammate, Toastedos. As I recall the last minute
- 1:23:56Speaker 18: grocery runs in late night dishwashing, the salty and spicy victories,
- 1:24:02Speaker 18: I realize it was all thanks to my teammate, Tostitos.
- 1:24:07Speaker 18: It was always you Tostitos team up with Toastitos, the
- 1:24:13Speaker 18: official Chip and Dip of the New England Patriots. As
- 1:24:16Speaker 18: I think back over the past few seasons, I wanted
- 1:24:20Speaker 18: to thank my most trusted game day teammate, Tostitos. As
- 1:24:25Speaker 18: I recall the last minute grocery runs and late night dishwashing,
- 1:24:29Speaker 18: the salty defeats and spicy victories, I realize it was
- 1:24:34Speaker 18: all thanks to my teammate, Tostitos. It was always you. Tostitos.
- 1:24:41Speaker 18: Team up with Toastitos, the official Chip and Dip of
- 1:24:45Speaker 18: the New England Patriots, and we.
- 1:24:50Speaker 19: Are back with another edition of the PU Halftime Show.
- 1:24:54Speaker 2: I am joined by Faith or All, who I think is.
- 1:24:57Speaker 19: Now time starts on the PU Halftime Show.
- 1:25:02Speaker 2: She was here from when it was show within the
- 1:25:04Speaker 2: show to the PU.
- 1:25:05Speaker 19: Halftime Show and Faith, as always, we're gonna get started
- 1:25:08Speaker 19: with some trivia for a Patriots Unfiltered T shirt. Al Right, However,
- 1:25:14Speaker 19: one of the questions is going to be a bonus
- 1:25:17Speaker 19: game pay poster. Yep, guys, As I said last show,
- 1:25:22Speaker 19: even though the team's not doing great, all these posters
- 1:25:24Speaker 19: are awesome local artists, so let's show them some love.
- 1:25:27Speaker 19: You can get them on Patriots dot Com. But let's
- 1:25:30Speaker 19: get into trivia. We're back to some Patriots content here.
- 1:25:33Speaker 19: I've cooled off a little. Question one, how many touchdown
- 1:25:38Speaker 19: passes did Tom Brady throw to a player wearing the
- 1:25:41Speaker 19: number eighty eight? All right, okay, And here's the bonus
- 1:25:47Speaker 19: question that gets you a poster?
- 1:25:49Speaker 2: Can you name the players?
- 1:25:51Speaker 10: Oh?
- 1:25:52Speaker 2: All right?
- 1:25:52Speaker 16: All right?
- 1:25:53Speaker 2: Question two?
- 1:25:54Speaker 19: How many Super Bowl catches, yards and touchdowns does Dion
- 1:25:59Speaker 19: Branch have?
- 1:26:00Speaker 2: All right? And question three?
- 1:26:03Speaker 19: Who was the first NFL player to catch an NFL
- 1:26:07Speaker 19: pass from Tom Brady? All right, not touchdown pass, just
- 1:26:12Speaker 19: as first first completion. Okay, okay, and faith, we are
- 1:26:16Speaker 19: going to get into it. It is Thursday and that
- 1:26:19Speaker 19: means nice. And we have this week the Jacksonville Jaguars
- 1:26:26Speaker 19: up against the New Orleans Saints, and this is one
- 1:26:29Speaker 19: of those interesting matchups.
- 1:26:31Speaker 17: Do you think I do?
- 1:26:32Speaker 9: I feel like on paper, I instantly am gonna go
- 1:26:35Speaker 9: with Jacksonville just because of the season that they're having.
- 1:26:38Speaker 9: I mean, they're a top the AFC South right now.
- 1:26:41Speaker 9: I just feel like they have a lot of pieces
- 1:26:43Speaker 9: working for him. But Trevor Lawrence, you know, had got
- 1:26:47Speaker 9: an injury in the last game. So I feel like
- 1:26:49Speaker 9: his status and his health. I mean, we've seen with
- 1:26:52Speaker 9: Joe Burrow and the Bengals he can come in because
- 1:26:55Speaker 9: he's fine, but you know, not playing as well.
- 1:26:57Speaker 16: Obviously the Bengals figured it out now, But I don't know.
- 1:27:00Speaker 9: I feel like this is one of those matchups that
- 1:27:02Speaker 9: if Trevor Lawrence is banged up or not fully there,
- 1:27:05Speaker 9: I don't know Saints have a chance. I mean, the
- 1:27:07Speaker 9: Saints are coming off a loss off the Texans, but
- 1:27:10Speaker 9: I don't think that necessarily there's no need to sound
- 1:27:13Speaker 9: the alarms.
- 1:27:14Speaker 16: I feel like they're they're getting things.
- 1:27:16Speaker 19: So the Jags just beat the Colts thirty seven to twenty,
- 1:27:20Speaker 19: and that scores a lot closer than it was. I
- 1:27:22Speaker 19: mean it was kind of a beat down. I mean
- 1:27:25Speaker 19: the Colts scored fourteen points in the fourth quarter.
- 1:27:28Speaker 2: Don't even know what time red zone was.
- 1:27:30Speaker 1: Off by then.
- 1:27:32Speaker 19: No, So I'm with you. I think the Jags are
- 1:27:34Speaker 19: gonna take this one. But I just there's one of
- 1:27:37Speaker 19: the Jags. They kind of remind me the Commanders. Okay,
- 1:27:40Speaker 19: the Commanders, I think it was they played the Eagles
- 1:27:43Speaker 19: very close, and then they're playing the Bears on Thursday
- 1:27:45Speaker 19: at football and you're like, this is a win and
- 1:27:47Speaker 19: then they kind of just crap the bed.
- 1:27:49Speaker 2: Yeah, and this just has that rich It could go either.
- 1:27:52Speaker 19: I don't even want to say a trap game, because
- 1:27:54Speaker 19: the Saints like they're fine, they're not great. They beat us,
- 1:27:57Speaker 19: but like that's not impressive. So I just think if
- 1:28:02Speaker 19: Trevor Lawrence.
- 1:28:03Speaker 2: Is happy, I'm sorry to happy. Don't be happy, happy
- 1:28:05Speaker 2: to a wonderful day healthy if he's healthy.
- 1:28:08Speaker 19: I mean, the super Dome gets loud, but I mean,
- 1:28:10Speaker 19: the Jaguars should win this game.
- 1:28:12Speaker 16: They should.
- 1:28:13Speaker 9: But I think that's the thing about this season so
- 1:28:15Speaker 9: far as like teams that should don't necessarily mean they're
- 1:28:18Speaker 9: going to win. I mean, we saw this past week
- 1:28:20Speaker 9: with the Eagles and the forty nine ers falling to
- 1:28:23Speaker 9: teams they probably shouldn't have, you know, I mean, anything
- 1:28:26Speaker 9: can really happen. And I mean Derek Carr is playing good.
- 1:28:29Speaker 9: He had his highest total yardage in his first six
- 1:28:32Speaker 9: contests with the New Orleans Saints, and I just feel
- 1:28:35Speaker 9: like he's he's doing good. Like he completed thirty two
- 1:28:39Speaker 9: to fifty pass attempts for three hundred and fifty three
- 1:28:42Speaker 9: yards in a touchdown last game and I feel like
- 1:28:46Speaker 9: if he if he's happy, if he's having a good
- 1:28:49Speaker 9: maybe he can pull it off for the Saints. But
- 1:28:51Speaker 9: I mean, you know, home crowd is always a good thing.
- 1:28:55Speaker 9: And I mean Jacksonville they've got a lot to lose
- 1:28:59Speaker 9: considering that, you know, now they're top of the AFC South,
- 1:29:01Speaker 9: Like they're not gonna want to fall to four and three.
- 1:29:04Speaker 16: But I don't know, it could be a toss up.
- 1:29:06Speaker 2: I'm really looking forward to.
- 1:29:07Speaker 19: And I know it's like not really a matchup. They're
- 1:29:10Speaker 19: not playing each other, but they're running back matchup. Yeah,
- 1:29:12Speaker 19: Alvin Kamara, who was doing this thing, is always solid back.
- 1:29:15Speaker 19: And then you got Travis Etn, who is pretty much
- 1:29:18Speaker 19: like what the only good thing urban Meyer did was
- 1:29:21Speaker 19: drafted him. If he's been bawling out this year, I mean,
- 1:29:24Speaker 19: you got a good I mean, it's could be there's
- 1:29:25Speaker 19: a chance this could be a shootout.
- 1:29:27Speaker 9: Honestly, Yeah, I see this being more of a high
- 1:29:29Speaker 9: scoring game. You know, I can't speak too much for
- 1:29:32Speaker 9: either of the defenses, I feel like, but I just
- 1:29:35Speaker 9: like you said, with the running backs being who they are,
- 1:29:37Speaker 9: and I mean even Travis Etn some games where he's
- 1:29:40Speaker 9: kind of shut down for the first three quarters, like
- 1:29:42Speaker 9: he just goes off in the final quarter and just
- 1:29:44Speaker 9: wins it for the Jags.
- 1:29:46Speaker 16: So I don't know.
- 1:29:47Speaker 9: I feel like between them, if they can have two
- 1:29:49Speaker 9: healthy quarterbacks, like, I see this being a high scoring.
- 1:29:52Speaker 19: Game as as somebody with no dog in the fight.
- 1:29:54Speaker 19: And at this point, I just want to watch good football.
- 1:29:57Speaker 19: I just hope it's a good game. I mean out
- 1:29:59Speaker 19: Michaels now calls it Thursday Night games. It's been a
- 1:30:02Speaker 19: year and a half and has he called one interesting
- 1:30:04Speaker 19: game yet.
- 1:30:05Speaker 2: I don't think so.
- 1:30:06Speaker 16: They've been.
- 1:30:06Speaker 9: I don't know who picked the Thursday night matchups, but
- 1:30:09Speaker 9: it's it's been tough.
- 1:30:11Speaker 2: It's just like you never know.
- 1:30:12Speaker 19: You never know because you don't want to put the
- 1:30:14Speaker 19: craziest games there and stuff. But yeah, I I just
- 1:30:18Speaker 19: something interesting about this game. It could be you know,
- 1:30:20Speaker 19: the Jags are at least are like a fun team
- 1:30:22Speaker 19: to watch. Yeah, yeah, so I think this could be
- 1:30:25Speaker 19: a shootout. I'm going to take the Jags winning thirty
- 1:30:30Speaker 19: four to thirty one.
- 1:30:31Speaker 16: Mm I like that.
- 1:30:33Speaker 9: Yeah, the last second field goal kind of thing. I
- 1:30:35Speaker 9: even know, just something make it interesting, make it interesting.
- 1:30:40Speaker 9: I'm gonna say Jacksonville I'm gonna go a little bit less,
- 1:30:47Speaker 9: but I'm gonna say twenty seven.
- 1:30:48Speaker 16: To twenty four.
- 1:30:49Speaker 2: So here's some some questions before we run out of time.
- 1:30:53Speaker 17: Here.
- 1:30:54Speaker 19: Did you see the clip of Jamis kind of pleading
- 1:30:57Speaker 19: his case to Kamara? Is that was that after Car
- 1:31:01Speaker 19: threw a pick? I just like, you know, Car got
- 1:31:04Speaker 19: banged up a couple of weeks ago.
- 1:31:06Speaker 16: He did.
- 1:31:06Speaker 9: I mean a lot of quarterbacks have him getting banged up, yeah,
- 1:31:10Speaker 9: like two weeks.
- 1:31:10Speaker 2: And also what's what's interesting.
- 1:31:13Speaker 19: Is I mean both these teams, like the divisions are
- 1:31:17Speaker 19: way closer than it seems like the Saints kind of
- 1:31:19Speaker 19: got a win, like there's one of your few years
- 1:31:21Speaker 19: to do it. Yeah, if Falcons don't look great, No,
- 1:31:24Speaker 19: the Bucks are the Bucks, and the Panthers are currently
- 1:31:27Speaker 19: owed six so.
- 1:31:29Speaker 9: Yeah, no, the Panthers aren't competing with anybody, so no
- 1:31:31Speaker 9: need to worry about that, No need to worry about.
- 1:31:33Speaker 2: Them peeting with us for a top pick.
- 1:31:35Speaker 9: So oh gosh, yeah, too soon, too soon, too soon,
- 1:31:39Speaker 9: too soon. I think it should be a good game though, hopefully.
- 1:31:42Speaker 9: I mean, I love it's funny about al Michaels.
- 1:31:44Speaker 16: I love him.
- 1:31:45Speaker 9: I feel like he's a great announcer, so hopefully he
- 1:31:47Speaker 9: has something exciting to talk about on Thursday.
- 1:31:49Speaker 19: So, so you have you have the Jags winning. Yes,
- 1:31:52Speaker 19: who is your MVP of the game.
- 1:31:54Speaker 9: Oh, I hate saying ETN because I've picked him as
- 1:32:01Speaker 9: a playmaker before in other games.
- 1:32:03Speaker 16: But I don't know. I feel like I gotta go
- 1:32:06Speaker 16: et go.
- 1:32:07Speaker 2: I think Trevor Lawrence.
- 1:32:08Speaker 16: I think he can if he grinds through it.
- 1:32:10Speaker 19: I think he can be very happy and grind it
- 1:32:13Speaker 19: out and take his check.
- 1:32:14Speaker 16: If you're listening, we hope you're so happy he's.
- 1:32:16Speaker 19: Gonna take his Jags to a win to bump him
- 1:32:18Speaker 19: up to five and two.
- 1:32:20Speaker 2: I believe that would be it.
- 1:32:22Speaker 19: But guys, faith, thank you for joining the People halftime show.
- 1:32:26Speaker 19: You're always welcome. And guys, send in those answers to
- 1:32:30Speaker 19: web radio Patriots dot com.
- 1:32:32Speaker 2: And remember, if you got the bonus answer.
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: On the first thing, you get an awesome poster.
- 1:32:37Speaker 2: And you know what, those posters are probably still.
- 1:32:40Speaker 19: Available on Patriots dot com, so check them out and
- 1:32:43Speaker 19: let's get back to Patriots.
- 1:32:44Speaker 2: I'll filter and now Great Moments History.
- 1:32:52Speaker 1: I know he's a friend of the show, but the
- 1:32:54Speaker 1: pre and postgame shows have become largely about soothing or
- 1:32:57Speaker 1: feeding Hardy's ego, and he offers little actual information about
- 1:33:01Speaker 1: the team or the game. It's so frustrating.
- 1:33:04Speaker 17: Wow, oh we should bring this. That's entirely inaccurate Hardy.
- 1:33:10Speaker 1: I don't know if Hardy has I think, if anything
- 1:33:12Speaker 1: in this room, I think, if anything, he's got inferior complex.
- 1:33:15Speaker 17: Yes, already I would agree.
- 1:33:17Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, he's a very busy guy. He's got
- 1:33:21Speaker 1: ninety eight point five. Then he does series. He's got
- 1:33:23Speaker 1: the music show, you know, so he's got golf, the
- 1:33:28Speaker 1: golf show that he does. But he gets free stuff
- 1:33:31Speaker 1: for that, so I'm a little jealous.
- 1:33:33Speaker 17: He gets clubs, he took care of custom P HG clubs.
- 1:33:37Speaker 17: He gave you clubs. He got those he got free,
- 1:33:41Speaker 17: and I got his leftovers.
- 1:33:43Speaker 1: Oh did you?
- 1:33:43Speaker 17: He said, he gave me a set of irons nice?
- 1:33:46Speaker 1: What kind?
- 1:33:47Speaker 17: I don't know.
- 1:33:47Speaker 1: Don't look at him, you don't even look at him.
- 1:33:50Speaker 17: No, it was just the other night when we were leaving.
- 1:33:52Speaker 1: He put him in my trunk, so you're not even
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: curious to what they are.
- 1:33:57Speaker 17: No, I'll look at him when I get a chance.
- 1:33:59Speaker 17: I would want to know what kind of clubs I
- 1:34:01Speaker 17: got some new clubs.
- 1:34:02Speaker 1: Are you excited?
- 1:34:05Speaker 5: I've been working on the set.
- 1:34:06Speaker 2: Of Irons, just rolling around in the back of his car.
- 1:34:08Speaker 17: Right in a bag. I want to know, like the Calloway,
- 1:34:14Speaker 17: I expect that from him, not you.
- 1:34:15Speaker 1: I expect you know, like I'd be excited to get
- 1:34:19Speaker 1: a new set of irons.
- 1:34:20Speaker 16: Mike, how's your putting?
- 1:34:21Speaker 2: That's another great moment from.
- 1:34:25Speaker 1: That was like an Eric moment, like I latched onto something.
- 1:34:29Speaker 5: Do you have an update?
- 1:34:30Speaker 3: The Callaways always crushing it with Uh, I had I
- 1:34:36Speaker 3: had some good success the first time I used him.
- 1:34:38Speaker 1: That's not.
- 1:34:40Speaker 7: We had a company outing to top golf in Las Vegas.
- 1:34:44Speaker 1: Yeah, how was that?
- 1:34:45Speaker 5: It was a lot of time.
- 1:34:46Speaker 3: It was really fun.
- 1:34:48Speaker 5: Twelve of us.
- 1:34:49Speaker 7: I think when you know the kids and the kids
- 1:34:52Speaker 7: and Choke and uh and David Silverman joined us as well.
- 1:34:55Speaker 5: Now did David just walk out and get his ball
- 1:34:57Speaker 5: after every time? David didn't?
- 1:34:59Speaker 1: I yeah, he would shape. He didn't like he'd puppy.
- 1:35:02Speaker 7: Take any swings because of his back. He said that
- 1:35:05Speaker 7: his back was hurting him a shoke did though, because
- 1:35:08Speaker 7: he Max so Junior is like ridiculously good at golf.
- 1:35:15Speaker 5: So he golfs all the time.
- 1:35:16Speaker 1: He looks like a good athlete. Yeah in shape.
- 1:35:19Speaker 5: Yeah, what's that? And I was gonna say, what does
- 1:35:22Speaker 5: that means?
- 1:35:22Speaker 3: In shape?
- 1:35:23Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 1:35:23Speaker 7: And so he was really good, and of course Yanick
- 1:35:25Speaker 7: was good, which like European like not surprising, but.
- 1:35:28Speaker 5: He's on the European tour. Yeah.
- 1:35:29Speaker 1: We're leaving the Raiders Stadium and it's a long walk
- 1:35:33Speaker 1: to the buses and we're the last one, so you know,
- 1:35:35Speaker 1: all this come on. We gotta hurry, we gotta hurry.
- 1:35:38Speaker 1: And Matt and I are trying to help Juni with equipment.
- 1:35:40Speaker 1: So Max got a tripod and Junior he's got this
- 1:35:43Speaker 1: sixty pounds Pelican bag. Junior system that give me that
- 1:35:47Speaker 1: takes the tripod just starts sprinting. Matt and I are
- 1:35:51Speaker 1: like with nothing, and we're like limping behind.
- 1:35:53Speaker 9: Right.
- 1:35:54Speaker 10: Yeah, it's not like the biggest guy, but I feel
- 1:35:56Speaker 10: like he has like a really wiry.
- 1:35:57Speaker 5: Athletic Oh yeah, yeah.
- 1:35:59Speaker 7: He Friday night and we come back and then we
- 1:36:03Speaker 7: see you here the next morning. He went up for
- 1:36:05Speaker 7: like a run in Vegas like in the morning before
- 1:36:09Speaker 7: like before everybody else.
- 1:36:10Speaker 1: Was for two hours in the morning.
- 1:36:12Speaker 5: I know, I was just like what because it.
- 1:36:16Speaker 7: Oh yeah, I went running and like I saw this
- 1:36:18Speaker 7: thing over there. I was just like, you went, what, Like,
- 1:36:20Speaker 7: what's a run?
- 1:36:21Speaker 3: You know?
- 1:36:22Speaker 5: I saw it on Instagram and I was just looking
- 1:36:23Speaker 5: at he puts someone golf. I'm like, this guy can golf.
- 1:36:26Speaker 10: You could just tell note one of those just opened
- 1:36:28Speaker 10: up in Rhode Island.
- 1:36:29Speaker 5: One of them just down the street.
- 1:36:32Speaker 1: Can't really quickly. CJ's been holding on. I want to
- 1:36:37Speaker 1: get him in before we do picks. What's up, CJ?
- 1:36:41Speaker 14: Hey, what was up? Guys?
- 1:36:42Speaker 1: It was uh.
- 1:36:45Speaker 14: I wanted to call in about the topic that you
- 1:36:46Speaker 14: guys brought up about Belichick and the uncertainty around his contract.
- 1:36:51Speaker 14: Do you think there's a scenario in which he could,
- 1:36:55Speaker 14: like he wouldn't want to do this anymore, like be
- 1:36:59Speaker 14: on a one and you know, five team with the
- 1:37:02Speaker 14: projection of maybe winning three or four more games for
- 1:37:06Speaker 14: multiple years. Do you think there's a scenario in which
- 1:37:08Speaker 14: they would just come to an arrangement that he and
- 1:37:11Speaker 14: crap and just be like, yeah, you don't have to
- 1:37:13Speaker 14: pay me the sixty million guaranteed or whatever, because I
- 1:37:16Speaker 14: don't want to do this.
- 1:37:19Speaker 1: He's gonna have to pay him something.
- 1:37:20Speaker 7: Yeah, the pay part I would say hard. No, is
- 1:37:23Speaker 7: there a possibility that he says at the end of
- 1:37:25Speaker 7: the year, I don't got it anymore, it's not working
- 1:37:29Speaker 7: or something like I maybe, but.
- 1:37:32Speaker 5: Everybody just wants to go to the answer.
- 1:37:33Speaker 1: Yeah again, depending on the contract, it's gonna if there's
- 1:37:37Speaker 1: time left on it, there's gonna be something. You know,
- 1:37:40Speaker 1: I wouldn't walk away. You kidding me? All right? Anyway,
- 1:37:44Speaker 1: thanks CJ. All right, Uh, it's that time of the show.
- 1:37:47Speaker 1: We got a really hurry today.
- 1:37:49Speaker 3: We'll get through.
- 1:37:50Speaker 5: We got some buy so I don't.
- 1:37:51Speaker 1: Know if faith knows.
- 1:37:52Speaker 3: Yeah, there's only uh, there's only thirteen games this week.
- 1:37:55Speaker 1: Usually Matt plays the Monday Night Football theme at this point.
- 1:37:58Speaker 1: But that's okay, that's that, Paul. What happened last week?
- 1:38:04Speaker 4: There's been some moving and shaking.
- 1:38:07Speaker 1: The disturbance in the forest.
- 1:38:09Speaker 4: There is some would say that, you.
- 1:38:11Speaker 3: Know, market correction, because I don't. Regression to the mean
- 1:38:16Speaker 3: is taking place with the leader. Uh so we have
- 1:38:18Speaker 3: a new Alex. Look at that.
- 1:38:21Speaker 5: Oh, now I know why she came in such a fud.
- 1:38:28Speaker 1: Fraud terrible.
- 1:38:30Speaker 3: The last I'm rushing in, did I miss?
- 1:38:34Speaker 5: Okay, I'm good, I'm gonna go.
- 1:38:35Speaker 4: Now twelve and three.
- 1:38:37Speaker 3: Wow, you knew twelve and three?
- 1:38:40Speaker 10: These away games, I get to sit home.
- 1:38:42Speaker 1: You knew so?
- 1:38:43Speaker 3: Paul eleven and four, typical, Mike and Evan ten and
- 1:38:47Speaker 3: five and toughly eight in seven.
- 1:38:51Speaker 7: I'll take ten and five d Absolutely, I'll take it
- 1:38:54Speaker 7: for you guys. We need some good for you guys.
- 1:38:57Speaker 3: Posting guy with the bread Alex also took the top
- 1:39:03Speaker 3: spot nine to five and one's Mike and Paul eight
- 1:39:09Speaker 3: six and one, Evans seven seven and one, and Fred
- 1:39:14Speaker 3: five knowine.
- 1:39:15Speaker 1: Fred's been up.
- 1:39:16Speaker 5: And down like the Bills this year.
- 1:39:17Speaker 3: It's like, well, here's the thing, and this is where
- 1:39:19Speaker 3: I have to defend my buddy Freddy. If he actually
- 1:39:22Speaker 3: did it to try to win, I think his record
- 1:39:24Speaker 3: would be better. But he has so many grievances and biases.
- 1:39:30Speaker 1: Mike picks are complicated.
- 1:39:31Speaker 3: His picks are complicated, perfectly put. So there's a new
- 1:39:35Speaker 3: but I'm gonna come back the.
- 1:39:36Speaker 4: Top Alex and Paul fifty nine and thirty four, followed
- 1:39:41Speaker 4: by Fred at fifty eight and thirty five, Mike fifty
- 1:39:44Speaker 4: seven and thirty.
- 1:39:45Speaker 5: Six, and Evan oh No. Fifty five and thirty eight.
- 1:39:49Speaker 1: We're all punched in there.
- 1:39:51Speaker 3: We are all close with the spread. This is the
- 1:39:55Speaker 3: market correction. Paul forty nine, forty one in three. There
- 1:39:59Speaker 3: was another tie last week. Uh, Fred forty eight forty
- 1:40:03Speaker 3: two and three, Alex forty seven, forty three and three,
- 1:40:07Speaker 3: Mike forty six, forty four and three, and heaven, oh no,
- 1:40:12Speaker 3: forty three forty seven and three.
- 1:40:14Speaker 5: I'll take it.
- 1:40:15Speaker 1: How's your all twenty two film? Now?
- 1:40:18Speaker 7: For some reason, Well, that's not too hard to do,
- 1:40:22Speaker 7: because all I do is watch the Patriots, so.
- 1:40:26Speaker 1: Like you know a lot, that's where we stand kind
- 1:40:28Speaker 1: of right in go ahead robing.
- 1:40:31Speaker 5: Honestly, I know she's pitching, right, I don't know.
- 1:40:36Speaker 7: I know nothing about if you are the Patriots or
- 1:40:39Speaker 7: you played the Patriots.
- 1:40:40Speaker 5: Like that's that's it.
- 1:40:41Speaker 1: Right, You're such a frog. Like Alice was running in
- 1:40:45Speaker 1: with her laptop like, oh nice, Alex is joining us now,
- 1:40:48Speaker 1: I know, unbelievable.
- 1:40:50Speaker 3: Did I miss the start?
- 1:40:51Speaker 5: I really didn't think I did.
- 1:40:53Speaker 4: Oh oh okay, I just I said my picks on slack.
- 1:40:57Speaker 1: It's supposed to go after you say that, right, all right,
- 1:41:03Speaker 1: we really have to hurry.
- 1:41:05Speaker 3: We do have an abbreviated slate, so only thirteen games
- 1:41:10Speaker 3: for a.
- 1:41:11Speaker 1: Minute Prime video. Tonight eight fifteen, the four to two
- 1:41:14Speaker 1: Jaguars are at the three and three Saints.
- 1:41:17Speaker 7: Trevor Lawrence is playings by two to New Orleans at home.
- 1:41:23Speaker 8: I still think Trevor Lawrence probably a little bit banged up,
- 1:41:25Speaker 8: So I'm gonna take the Saints at home.
- 1:41:27Speaker 5: I will lay the points.
- 1:41:30Speaker 10: I'm actually gonna take Jacksonville, and I don't really know why.
- 1:41:33Speaker 10: I'm gonna pick the upset though I can't.
- 1:41:35Speaker 5: Believe I'm losing on this girl.
- 1:41:43Speaker 7: I am also taking the Jaguars. I just don't trust
- 1:41:47Speaker 7: the Saints. I don't trust the Jaguars a whole lot either,
- 1:41:49Speaker 7: but I think they're a little bit better than the Saints.
- 1:41:51Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:41:51Speaker 3: I don't really know about either one of these teams,
- 1:41:53Speaker 3: but I think Jacksonville is better and I'm gonna go
- 1:41:55Speaker 3: with the Jags.
- 1:41:57Speaker 1: Olright my gut here said Saint because of their defense,
- 1:42:01Speaker 1: and even though Lawrence is playing, I don't think he's
- 1:42:03Speaker 1: one hundred percent. So I think Saints at home with
- 1:42:07Speaker 1: their d pulls it off. Okay, Sunday at one, the
- 1:42:12Speaker 1: five and one Lions are at the four and two Ravens.
- 1:42:15Speaker 3: This could be a good game, good good, good matchup.
- 1:42:17Speaker 3: Baltimore by three.
- 1:42:19Speaker 5: Baltimore by three, Yeah, I still. I mean, I like Detroit.
- 1:42:23Speaker 5: I'm a fan.
- 1:42:24Speaker 8: I think that in favorable situations, they're a very good team.
- 1:42:26Speaker 8: I just I think Baltimore is a great test for them.
- 1:42:28Speaker 8: It's just, you know, a tough, gretty team at home.
- 1:42:31Speaker 8: That's a tough quarterback. So I'm gonna go with Baltimore
- 1:42:33Speaker 8: in this one. But I think it's a good game,
- 1:42:34Speaker 8: and I think it'll be telling about the Lions.
- 1:42:38Speaker 10: I'm gonna pick Ravens, and I'm going to also kind
- 1:42:41Speaker 10: of reluctantly give the Ravens the points too. But the
- 1:42:46Speaker 10: lines are fun.
- 1:42:47Speaker 5: I'm believing.
- 1:42:48Speaker 7: I'm taking the Lions in the upset. I just like
- 1:42:51Speaker 7: what they're doing on really both sides of the ball.
- 1:42:53Speaker 7: But that offense. Ben Johnson, we all know that, we
- 1:42:56Speaker 7: talk about him on this program. He's gonna get a
- 1:42:58Speaker 7: head coaching job next next season, for sure.
- 1:43:00Speaker 5: Not in my school district.
- 1:43:04Speaker 3: I am going to take the Lions as well. I
- 1:43:07Speaker 3: don't think the Ravens have looked great even though they're
- 1:43:10Speaker 3: four and two, they're finding a way to win.
- 1:43:12Speaker 5: I think Detroit keeps it going.
- 1:43:15Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm with Paul. I think the Lions win this game.
- 1:43:19Speaker 1: Ravens kind of looked like the Patriots a couple of
- 1:43:21Speaker 1: years ago, when you know they weren't playing. They were
- 1:43:23Speaker 1: pulling out some wins, but you could tell there was
- 1:43:27Speaker 1: something not there. So I'm looking for the Lions here
- 1:43:30Speaker 1: one o'clock three and three, Raiders at the one in
- 1:43:33Speaker 1: five Bears.
- 1:43:35Speaker 3: Raiders by three.
- 1:43:38Speaker 1: I'm either going to do really well this week or
- 1:43:40Speaker 1: really bad.
- 1:43:41Speaker 5: No, justin fields, not justin fields. Yeah, I think Chicago,
- 1:43:45Speaker 5: if they're smart, lose every game you can.
- 1:43:47Speaker 1: Its a backup quarterback.
- 1:43:49Speaker 5: Tyson Bagent Badgeant, Badgeant. He's like a D three kid
- 1:43:53Speaker 5: that played at the Singer Bowl.
- 1:43:56Speaker 3: Oh that I might have to pick where all those
- 1:44:00Speaker 3: other studs went. Anyway, Okay, Jimmy.
- 1:44:05Speaker 7: That was good.
- 1:44:07Speaker 10: I'm gonna take the Raiders.
- 1:44:09Speaker 3: Did you make a pick? Don't the Raiders?
- 1:44:13Speaker 5: It is Raiders cover two.
- 1:44:16Speaker 1: What's up with Jimmy?
- 1:44:20Speaker 5: He's okay?
- 1:44:22Speaker 1: So he went to the hospital and he could play.
- 1:44:24Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, all right, precautioner.
- 1:44:26Speaker 7: I'm going to go with the Raiders as well, gonna
- 1:44:29Speaker 7: go with them to cover. I don't really think that
- 1:44:31Speaker 7: they're a great team either, but the Bears are just
- 1:44:34Speaker 7: that's a bad team.
- 1:44:35Speaker 3: Yeah, I agree. I'm going to take the Raiders too,
- 1:44:38Speaker 3: but it's more of an indictment on Chicago.
- 1:44:39Speaker 1: Yeah, me too, Raiders. I think it feels was playing.
- 1:44:42Speaker 1: I go with the Bears.
- 1:44:43Speaker 3: I felt like Chicago had a chance to be a
- 1:44:45Speaker 3: surprise team. That was a bad pick by me preseason.
- 1:44:49Speaker 1: One o'clock three and two Browns are at the three
- 1:44:53Speaker 1: and three.
- 1:44:53Speaker 4: Colts Cleveland by two and a half.
- 1:44:57Speaker 8: Yeah, I just I think this game comes down to
- 1:44:58Speaker 8: Gardner Minshew versus Clevelan On's defense, and I like Cleveland's
- 1:45:01Speaker 8: defense in that matchup.
- 1:45:02Speaker 5: So I'm gonna take Clevelan didn't drop the points.
- 1:45:05Speaker 7: What Mike said, I'll go the same. I don't feel
- 1:45:10Speaker 7: good about it, though, I have no idea those two teams.
- 1:45:13Speaker 3: Yeah, I am worried about Cleveland's preparation after beating San
- 1:45:20Speaker 3: Francisco last week. I'm going to take the Colts for
- 1:45:22Speaker 3: an upset. I think Minshew bounces back a little bit.
- 1:45:24Speaker 3: I don't think he's as bad as he played last round.
- 1:45:26Speaker 7: But don't disrespect p J. Walker all right, Oh I
- 1:45:29Speaker 7: will PJ Walker.
- 1:45:31Speaker 5: He's the Browns quarterback here When they played. Was that
- 1:45:33Speaker 5: did he get he.
- 1:45:34Speaker 4: Played against the the Panthers.
- 1:45:37Speaker 7: Is he on somebody that play the Patriots? He was
- 1:45:40Speaker 7: on Carolina? Yeah, but I think that they started Sam
- 1:45:43Speaker 7: Darnold ultimately in the game against the Patriots.
- 1:45:46Speaker 3: That was guy. He likes Pjah Yeah.
- 1:45:48Speaker 7: J Walker is a baller.
- 1:45:50Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm gonna go with the Browns' whatevery opposite of
- 1:45:52Speaker 3: a ball what he is.
- 1:45:54Speaker 1: He's very impressed with the Browns defense.
- 1:45:56Speaker 3: Yes, the Browns defense is legit.
- 1:45:57Speaker 1: Yeah, and they at once. That's my three and three
- 1:46:01Speaker 1: Commanders are at the one in five Giants.
- 1:46:05Speaker 4: Commanders by two and a half.
- 1:46:08Speaker 8: Giants, coming off a tough one. I am tempted in
- 1:46:13Speaker 8: this divisional game to take the Giants at home. However,
- 1:46:15Speaker 8: I'm going to take the Commanders on the road. I'll
- 1:46:19Speaker 8: lay the points as will.
- 1:46:21Speaker 10: I love the Commanders.
- 1:46:23Speaker 7: I'm going to take the Commanders as well. I think
- 1:46:25Speaker 7: they win by three, so a slight cover.
- 1:46:27Speaker 5: I suppose it's good.
- 1:46:29Speaker 7: If you want to feel better as a Patriots fan
- 1:46:31Speaker 7: about the Patriots offense, watch the Giants offense because it
- 1:46:34Speaker 7: is as much of a train wreck as yours, if
- 1:46:36Speaker 7: not worse. And they have Brian Dable, who's everybody's favorite
- 1:46:40Speaker 7: offensive mine in football, and they are. Their film on
- 1:46:43Speaker 7: offense is disgusting and.
- 1:46:44Speaker 5: A cautionary tale of just having to pay the guy,
- 1:46:47Speaker 5: you know. Yeah, maybe just don't pay the guy.
- 1:46:49Speaker 1: Yeah, talking about Daniel Jones.
- 1:46:51Speaker 3: Yeah, Paul, Yeah, I'm gonna take the Giants.
- 1:46:55Speaker 1: Wow, I'm gonna take the Commanders. So there, one o'clock
- 1:47:00Speaker 1: three and three Falcons are at the three and two Buccaneers.
- 1:47:07Speaker 5: Uh, Bucks by two and a half dead on my
- 1:47:10Speaker 5: sheet today. Uh, this is a tough one.
- 1:47:12Speaker 8: I don't have a great feel for either of these
- 1:47:14Speaker 8: teams right now. I'm gonna go with the home team,
- 1:47:16Speaker 8: the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and lay the points.
- 1:47:18Speaker 10: Yeah, coin flip for me too.
- 1:47:20Speaker 1: I will also give it to the Bucks.
- 1:47:23Speaker 7: I'm gonna go with the Falcons in this game. I
- 1:47:25Speaker 7: think the Falcons have a lot of talent on that roster.
- 1:47:27Speaker 7: I don't know if it's gonna come together quick enough
- 1:47:29Speaker 7: this season, but I like their offense.
- 1:47:32Speaker 5: And I don't love.
- 1:47:33Speaker 7: Ridder, but I love their pieces on that side of
- 1:47:35Speaker 7: the ball besides Ridder.
- 1:47:37Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm gonna go with the Buccaneers home home team.
- 1:47:41Speaker 5: You just skipped right over you yeap?
- 1:47:43Speaker 1: Oh sorry, Paul, Yeah.
- 1:47:45Speaker 3: No one cares what the guy in first place. Thanks,
- 1:47:47Speaker 3: But I'm gonna take the Bucks. But I agree with
- 1:47:50Speaker 3: what everybody said. It's a coin flip. I have no idea.
- 1:47:53Speaker 1: All right, now, we we skip over Patriots at one o'clock. Yes,
- 1:47:58Speaker 1: I got that.
- 1:47:59Speaker 3: We got that.
- 1:48:00Speaker 9: I did.
- 1:48:02Speaker 1: Four o'clock. The three and two Steelers are at the
- 1:48:05Speaker 1: three and three Rams, Rams by three.
- 1:48:09Speaker 5: Rams by three Rams at home? Can he pick it?
- 1:48:12Speaker 3: George?
- 1:48:14Speaker 5: I'm gonna take the Rams at home. I don't really
- 1:48:17Speaker 5: know why.
- 1:48:19Speaker 10: I will also take Los Angeles at home and lay
- 1:48:21Speaker 10: the points.
- 1:48:22Speaker 7: I'm gonna take the Rams big in this game. I
- 1:48:25Speaker 7: really like what I've seen out of Matthew Stafford. Stafford
- 1:48:28Speaker 7: looks like he's back a little bit, and I think
- 1:48:31Speaker 7: I like the Rams here like that speaking.
- 1:48:34Speaker 3: My language, bro, Yeah, I will take the lar as well.
- 1:48:37Speaker 3: I do think Cooper Cup has now put them back
- 1:48:40Speaker 3: into that dangerous offense category. I think they moved the
- 1:48:43Speaker 3: ball and put up some points even against Pittsburgh.
- 1:48:45Speaker 1: Yeah, we're all on the Rams four oh five. The
- 1:48:50Speaker 1: one in five Cardinals are at the three and two Seahawks.
- 1:48:54Speaker 5: Seahawks by seven and a half the Seahawks own the Cardinals. Oh,
- 1:48:58Speaker 5: thank you, right, I'm pretty sure.
- 1:49:00Speaker 7: Don't quote me on that because there I know that there.
- 1:49:05Speaker 7: The Seahawks own somebody in that division, and I know
- 1:49:08Speaker 7: it's not the think, but.
- 1:49:10Speaker 8: I'm gonna get a little wacky, little weird. I'm gonna
- 1:49:13Speaker 8: take Seattle, but I'm gonna take those points for Arizona
- 1:49:16Speaker 8: and just they've got something in that divisional game, keep
- 1:49:19Speaker 8: it close.
- 1:49:21Speaker 10: I'm just going to take Seattle outright and also lay
- 1:49:24Speaker 10: the points.
- 1:49:27Speaker 7: I'm going to take the Cardinals or excuse me, the Seahawks,
- 1:49:29Speaker 7: but I'm going to take the Cardinals. That's a big
- 1:49:31Speaker 7: spread in a division game. I'm going to take the
- 1:49:33Speaker 7: Cardinals to.
- 1:49:34Speaker 10: They own the Cardinals.
- 1:49:37Speaker 7: Yeah, I'm not one hundred percent sure about that. That
- 1:49:39Speaker 7: was like a lukewarm Okay.
- 1:49:41Speaker 5: I'm going to take Seattle too. I'm gonna do it
- 1:49:43Speaker 5: both ways.
- 1:49:45Speaker 3: I am. I don't like the hook. That the hook.
- 1:49:48Speaker 3: You took the hook. You guys took the.
- 1:49:49Speaker 5: Took the hook. Alex and I are. We're not going
- 1:49:52Speaker 5: to worry about the hook.
- 1:49:53Speaker 3: We're just taking straight up.
- 1:49:55Speaker 1: Yep, straight up Seattle. Uh four to twenty five, the
- 1:49:59Speaker 1: two and three Packers are at the one in five
- 1:50:02Speaker 1: Broncos who are playing where Paul.
- 1:50:04Speaker 3: Of course in Denver, that's right, and the Packers are
- 1:50:07Speaker 3: a one point favorite.
- 1:50:08Speaker 5: This is a this is a It's not a great game.
- 1:50:13Speaker 8: Denver's defense is Terry Blay and green Bay's got a
- 1:50:17Speaker 8: little bit of talent. So I'm gonna take green Bay
- 1:50:19Speaker 8: and I will lay the point.
- 1:50:21Speaker 10: I'm gonna take green Bay as well, playing the one
- 1:50:24Speaker 10: single point.
- 1:50:25Speaker 5: What's the number again, Paul, green Bay by no, Yes,
- 1:50:28Speaker 5: green Bay by one.
- 1:50:29Speaker 3: I'm sorry.
- 1:50:30Speaker 5: I feel like Deuce.
- 1:50:31Speaker 7: I feel like we might be biased because we saw
- 1:50:33Speaker 7: the Packers enjoying practices in person, and I keep taking
- 1:50:37Speaker 7: the Packers thinking that they're better than they actually are.
- 1:50:40Speaker 7: Maybe we should have known that. I'm gonna take the Packers,
- 1:50:45Speaker 7: though I'm sticking with it. I can't help it.
- 1:50:47Speaker 5: Short makes some throws and then he doesn't make something.
- 1:50:50Speaker 3: I think both of these stink on ice. But I'm
- 1:50:53Speaker 3: gonna take green Bay because I don't think green Bay
- 1:50:55Speaker 3: has done the things to lose that Denver is consistently done.
- 1:50:58Speaker 3: So this is more of another one of those picks.
- 1:51:00Speaker 3: I'm picking against the team green Bay.
- 1:51:03Speaker 1: We need the Broncos to lose a game. So I'm
- 1:51:06Speaker 1: going to go with the Broncos to win. I mean,
- 1:51:08Speaker 1: we need the Broncos to win a game. Oh okay, yeah,
- 1:51:11Speaker 1: I'm going to say.
- 1:51:12Speaker 7: Now we're rooting for the tank. Is what we're rooting for.
- 1:51:15Speaker 3: Freddy's embraced it.
- 1:51:16Speaker 8: It's a quiet Hey, you just went no matter what,
- 1:51:20Speaker 8: they're going to have a draft pick, and if people
- 1:51:22Speaker 8: who are worse than them lose games, it's a better
- 1:51:24Speaker 8: draft pick regardless of where it is.
- 1:51:25Speaker 5: So that's evergreen before you've embraced the tank.
- 1:51:28Speaker 1: Four twenty five, the two and three Chargers are at
- 1:51:31Speaker 1: the five and one Chiefs.
- 1:51:33Speaker 3: Chiefs by five and a half.
- 1:51:37Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean the magic of the swift man. Let's
- 1:51:39Speaker 5: go Kansas City. Lay those points.
- 1:51:42Speaker 3: Shoot.
- 1:51:43Speaker 8: I was just going to try to work in a
- 1:51:44Speaker 8: Taylor Swift quote, which is going to be on the board.
- 1:51:46Speaker 4: For paying off is a blank space.
- 1:51:48Speaker 5: You gotta get an one. It's the only song, you know.
- 1:51:51Speaker 8: I know a lot of the songs, but I got
- 1:51:53Speaker 8: bad Blood in the division here I was, I was there.
- 1:51:56Speaker 3: I was challenged. I was challenged with working a reference
- 1:51:59Speaker 3: in like spur of the moment, work a Taylor swift
- 1:52:02Speaker 3: reference into something, and Mike started talking about the offense like, oh,
- 1:52:05Speaker 3: I mean you look at the opense just like a
- 1:52:06Speaker 3: plank space.
- 1:52:08Speaker 4: And Sam gave me twenty one.
- 1:52:09Speaker 3: I left.
- 1:52:13Speaker 10: I I'm gonna go with the Chiefs. No, I was
- 1:52:19Speaker 10: gonna give the Chargers the points, but I'm not gonna
- 1:52:20Speaker 10: do that. I'm gonna give it all to the Chiefs.
- 1:52:23Speaker 8: Get it all to the Chiefs, give it away, give
- 1:52:25Speaker 8: it away.
- 1:52:28Speaker 7: I'm gonna go with the Chiefs, but I'm gonna I
- 1:52:31Speaker 7: am gonna give the Chargers the points because I feel
- 1:52:33Speaker 7: like that's so Chargers.
- 1:52:34Speaker 5: That's what they do. They play tight.
- 1:52:36Speaker 7: Games, but they always find a way to lose tight
- 1:52:39Speaker 7: games against good teams like they were in that game
- 1:52:40Speaker 7: against Dallas last week.
- 1:52:42Speaker 5: Lose. I don't get it at folks.
- 1:52:47Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:52:47Speaker 4: I'm taking the upset here.
- 1:52:49Speaker 3: I'm gonna take the lack.
- 1:52:50Speaker 1: Wow out right. Yes, I'm not gonna go quite that far,
- 1:52:54Speaker 1: but I'll take the points. You know, as the Sharps say,
- 1:52:57Speaker 1: this is one of those division games.
- 1:53:00Speaker 3: Yeah, to say that in the same division play, it's
- 1:53:04Speaker 3: one of those division games, right, the Sharps know. That's
- 1:53:07Speaker 3: why you have to listen to the shops.
- 1:53:08Speaker 1: They know when they see a division game, they know
- 1:53:11Speaker 1: it eight twenty very sure. Uh, the five and one
- 1:53:15Speaker 1: Dolphins are at the five and one Eagles. Something's gonna get.
- 1:53:19Speaker 5: Game of the week to a tingle almost.
- 1:53:25Speaker 4: Eagles, Eagles by two and a half.
- 1:53:27Speaker 5: Two and a half.
- 1:53:28Speaker 8: All right, So this is this is a theory and
- 1:53:30Speaker 8: take development and we gloat about the Dolphins as well.
- 1:53:33Speaker 5: And I think you're it was only thirteen games. You
- 1:53:35Speaker 5: got plenty of time, a right, right, Well, this is
- 1:53:37Speaker 5: I think you're on the same line too.
- 1:53:38Speaker 8: And I don't know if this is right, but I'm
- 1:53:40Speaker 8: gonna go with and it's not that cold yet, but
- 1:53:42Speaker 8: I'm gonna go with Dilly the home team. I think
- 1:53:44Speaker 8: the Dolphins, Paul said earlier this week at the Dolphins
- 1:53:47Speaker 8: get home field advantage, very hard to beat fast field.
- 1:53:50Speaker 8: I don't know what the weather's gonna be like, but
- 1:53:52Speaker 8: this is my testing out of the theory. So I'm
- 1:53:53Speaker 8: gonna go with Philadelphia to win as Miami just falls close.
- 1:53:57Speaker 8: But weather doesn't man not weather.
- 1:53:59Speaker 5: But you know, saying, if.
- 1:54:00Speaker 3: We're gonna go by every other weekend in the Northeast,
- 1:54:03Speaker 3: like for the entirety of the football season. It'll be
- 1:54:05Speaker 3: rain and right.
- 1:54:07Speaker 10: Except for that one game we've played the Saints in
- 1:54:09Speaker 10: perfect weather.
- 1:54:09Speaker 5: That's correct. I don't remember that Philly, Philly.
- 1:54:12Speaker 1: I blocked it up, Philly, Philly.
- 1:54:15Speaker 7: I'm gonna take the Eagles both ways as well. I
- 1:54:18Speaker 7: think the one kryptonite for the Dolphins is the line
- 1:54:20Speaker 7: of scrimmage. They don't have a good offensive line. I
- 1:54:24Speaker 7: hate that matchup for the Dolphins, and I think that,
- 1:54:26Speaker 7: you know, against these more physical teams, they I don't
- 1:54:30Speaker 7: know if they're going to hold up with that finesse offense.
- 1:54:32Speaker 7: So I'm going I'm going Philly.
- 1:54:35Speaker 3: Yeah, I agree in Philly. Also, coming off a bad,
- 1:54:39Speaker 3: bad loss, I think they get a little bit refocused
- 1:54:41Speaker 3: that will take the Eagles.
- 1:54:42Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:54:43Speaker 3: It should be a good game. Though.
- 1:54:44Speaker 1: Jalen Hurts looked like he was in shock after that game.
- 1:54:47Speaker 3: But loved, loved his post game.
- 1:54:50Speaker 5: I'm gonna go with Smith.
- 1:54:51Speaker 1: I'm going to go with the Dolphins. I think they
- 1:54:53Speaker 1: get up for this. It's a big test for them,
- 1:54:56Speaker 1: and I think they pulled through.
- 1:54:58Speaker 7: They did fail their last big test against Buffalo badly,
- 1:55:01Speaker 7: so maybe they do.
- 1:55:02Speaker 1: Monday night, eight fifteen on ABC, ESPN, he has been
- 1:55:06Speaker 1: to ESPN Deportes.
- 1:55:09Speaker 5: He's direct TV two TV Ola.
- 1:55:14Speaker 1: The fives are at the two and four Vikings.
- 1:55:19Speaker 3: No winers by six and a half of sixty and
- 1:55:21Speaker 3: a half.
- 1:55:22Speaker 8: So yeah, it seems like everybody's aoka after some injury
- 1:55:25Speaker 8: scares last week with the oblique injury, those comething.
- 1:55:28Speaker 5: Mcaffreyk oblique, I'm gonna go. Yeah, I'll go San Francisco a.
- 1:55:32Speaker 10: Lamb Niners and give them the points, especially that Christian McCaffrey.
- 1:55:39Speaker 1: What I know about that.
- 1:55:42Speaker 7: I'm gonna go with the Niners both ways as well.
- 1:55:44Speaker 5: They're just a lot better. Yeah.
- 1:55:46Speaker 3: If Justin Jefferson were were involved in this game, maybe
- 1:55:49Speaker 3: I would take the points, but he's not, so I'm
- 1:55:51Speaker 3: gonna lay the points San Francisco both ways.
- 1:55:54Speaker 1: I think we're all going forty nine is both ways. Okay,
- 1:55:56Speaker 1: Now we go back to one o'clock and it's the
- 1:56:00Speaker 1: four and two Bills.
- 1:56:02Speaker 8: Don't hit the mic, alse you just make it at
- 1:56:03Speaker 8: the one in five Patriots.
- 1:56:06Speaker 7: That's because we like trees.
- 1:56:08Speaker 4: I'll use my laptop Buffalo by Knowine.
- 1:56:12Speaker 8: Oh boy, Uh yeah, I'm gonna go with Buffalo on
- 1:56:15Speaker 8: this one. I'll lay the points. You know, it's just
- 1:56:18Speaker 8: hard to predict this Patriots team, as banged up as
- 1:56:21Speaker 8: they are, as many, you know, as sloppy as they played,
- 1:56:23Speaker 8: as many wrong things they've done, to make a case
- 1:56:26Speaker 8: that this is the team that breaks this four game,
- 1:56:28Speaker 8: you know, losing streak against Josh Allen, He's had their number.
- 1:56:30Speaker 8: Him and Digs are just on another level, and I
- 1:56:32Speaker 8: think the banged up secondary is going to kill the Patriots.
- 1:56:35Speaker 8: I'm gonna take Buffalo somewhere in the neighborhood of like
- 1:56:37Speaker 8: thirty one seventeen.
- 1:56:40Speaker 10: Yeah, I mean, I hate to say it. I'm scared
- 1:56:43Speaker 10: for what things will look like after this, but I'm
- 1:56:46Speaker 10: taking the Bills, obviously giving them the points thirty four.
- 1:56:51Speaker 7: So I said the other day that it is I
- 1:56:53Speaker 7: feel like this is gonna be like a take care
- 1:56:54Speaker 7: of business game for Buffalo.
- 1:56:56Speaker 5: I still feel that way.
- 1:56:57Speaker 7: I think the one difference is that if that Bill's
- 1:56:59Speaker 7: pass rush starts getting after Mac Jones, you can see
- 1:57:02Speaker 7: quite a few turnovers and that could make this score
- 1:57:05Speaker 7: look ugly. But I'm still thinking that that. You know,
- 1:57:09Speaker 7: I think the Bills have some things that they still
- 1:57:12Speaker 7: need to work on. Offensively, They're not all the way there.
- 1:57:14Speaker 3: Yet.
- 1:57:15Speaker 7: And I was talking to people in Buffalo last night
- 1:57:17Speaker 7: on a podcast, and like they want to like fire
- 1:57:19Speaker 7: the offensive coordinator like Ken Dorsey is under all sorts
- 1:57:22Speaker 7: of fire because of how inconsistent the offense has been
- 1:57:25Speaker 7: and all this type of stuff. So I don't think
- 1:57:27Speaker 7: that they're firing yet at all cylinders to like win
- 1:57:29Speaker 7: this game by like the Cowboys score or something like that.
- 1:57:33Speaker 7: So I'm gonna go Bill's twenty four Patriots thirteen Buffalo cruises.
- 1:57:39Speaker 5: But it's not like a lopsided blowout.
- 1:57:41Speaker 10: Allen's a little banged.
- 1:57:42Speaker 4: Up, yeah, shoulder, yeah, yeah.
- 1:57:47Speaker 3: I look at the game similar I think Buffalo has
- 1:57:50Speaker 3: too much offense to get shut down to the point
- 1:57:53Speaker 3: where an upset could happen barring multiple turnovers by Buffalo.
- 1:57:58Speaker 3: So they're banged up, and I think that the defense
- 1:58:03Speaker 3: in particular for Buffalo is banged up in the middle.
- 1:58:05Speaker 3: So if the Patriots can get off to a good
- 1:58:07Speaker 3: start and run the ball and shorten the game, then
- 1:58:09Speaker 3: maybe the game is closer than that, but I think
- 1:58:11Speaker 3: they'll have a hard time doing that. Twenty seven I'll
- 1:58:14Speaker 3: say twenty seven to sixteen Buffalo, so they cover yeah.
- 1:58:18Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, oh.
- 1:58:19Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, No, everybody hasn't, I mean everything. Why didn't
- 1:58:22Speaker 3: you make fun of them? You're saying that Buffalo is
- 1:58:24Speaker 3: gonna cover.
- 1:58:25Speaker 7: I think because it's you.
- 1:58:27Speaker 3: Right, No, because you actually the same spread you did
- 1:58:29Speaker 3: eleven point, but you you.
- 1:58:31Speaker 1: Went through the list of why Buffalo's not and yet
- 1:58:36Speaker 1: and then they say, and then but they're going to cover.
- 1:58:39Speaker 5: Yeah, well because because they're better.
- 1:58:40Speaker 3: You know what, I don't think the teams are close
- 1:58:42Speaker 3: for all of you, all of them.
- 1:58:45Speaker 5: He's back.
- 1:58:46Speaker 1: Patriots cover this game. So Buffalo, when you're taking the point, Yeah,
- 1:58:54Speaker 1: twenty four to seventeen.
- 1:58:55Speaker 7: That's an upset picking the Patriots.
- 1:58:59Speaker 1: Well, however, I'll be thrilled.
- 1:59:00Speaker 5: All that tails is like they get the last score
- 1:59:04Speaker 5: in Fred's.
- 1:59:04Speaker 1: The winner, twenty four to seventeen, Patriots, Buffalo. I know, listen,
- 1:59:10Speaker 1: I was picked Buffalo. The weird weird things happened. I
- 1:59:13Speaker 1: was tempted to take the Patriots this game, you know
- 1:59:16Speaker 1: I wasn't. But but no, but like we're really close
- 1:59:22Speaker 1: to it with the Patriots, and you know, we're kind
- 1:59:24Speaker 1: of all in shock about how bad the season is going.
- 1:59:27Speaker 1: But not every week, but a lot of weeks, there's
- 1:59:30Speaker 1: that one team that holy crap, they beat SO and so?
- 1:59:34Speaker 1: Why not us? Why can't we be that team now?
- 1:59:37Speaker 7: Spirit?
- 1:59:37Speaker 1: You know?
- 1:59:38Speaker 5: I mean the Giants, right.
- 1:59:40Speaker 1: They should have won last week.
- 1:59:43Speaker 5: They had the ball in their hand on the one
- 1:59:44Speaker 5: yard they did have that. I will agree with you there,
- 1:59:47Speaker 5: that's I think.
- 1:59:48Speaker 3: They should think they should have won the game.
- 1:59:50Speaker 1: Yeah, so things, crazy things can happen. Why not? But
- 1:59:56Speaker 1: you know, with all the entries we have, you know,
- 1:59:59Speaker 1: it's but we'll cover. We'll cover, We'll make it a game.
- 2:00:03Speaker 1: We'll make it again.
- 2:00:04Speaker 3: Break. Thanks, good job right over?
- 2:00:06Speaker 1: All right, So coming up next Catch twenty two with
