- 0:00Speaker 2: Like, I'm gonna be an in foototball player.
- 0:02Speaker 3: Second my second game in college. Literally, I end up
- 0:05Speaker 3: playing the rest of the second quarter, the third quarter,
- 0:08Speaker 3: and half of the fourth. In that time, I'd rushed
- 0:11Speaker 3: for three hundred and eighty nine yards and seven touchdowns.
- 0:16Speaker 4: Stupid Goden games language movie, No simple.
- 0:42Speaker 1: Welcome to another episode of Busting with the Boys. I
- 0:44Speaker 1: am your host. We'll come to my co host, Tyl Lwan.

- 1:00Speaker 1: So if you're watching right now, Number one, thank you
- 1:02Speaker 1: guys for your support, always watching, always listening. If you're
- 1:06Speaker 1: watching on YouTube or Rumble, please make sure you are
- 1:08Speaker 1: subscribed leave comments throughout the episode, and if you're listening
- 1:12Speaker 1: on audio, make sure you're following and subscribe to those
- 1:14Speaker 1: channels as well. And if you're subscribed to all of them,
- 1:17Speaker 1: congratulations you are a Tier one and officially one of
- 1:20Speaker 1: the boys. In this episode, again, Mitchie does a phenomenal
- 1:23Speaker 1: job of putting the chapters. By the way, people in
- 1:26Speaker 1: the comments section are like, hey, the chapters aren't showing up.
- 1:28Speaker 5: Thank you for that accountability. For Mitch Carsley, I had
- 1:30Speaker 5: to hit him up.
- 1:31Speaker 1: He had to reach out to somebody barstool it because
- 1:33Speaker 1: he's like, I filled them out, I wonder why they're
- 1:35Speaker 1: not happening, and then all of a sudden they come
- 1:36Speaker 1: out of nowhere.
- 1:37Speaker 5: But that is thanks to you, guys. But he does
- 1:39Speaker 5: a great job with the chapters.
- 1:40Speaker 1: So if you're here for the martiall Fuck interview, we
- 1:42Speaker 1: talk about the greatest show on turf. His time at
- 1:45Speaker 1: San Diego State hold Nebraska fumbled the bag and didn't
- 1:48Speaker 1: offer them and they wanted him as a cornerback and
- 1:49Speaker 1: not a running back. His time in Indianapolis playing with
- 1:53Speaker 1: Peyton Manning, getting traded to the Rams, the business stuff
- 1:56Speaker 1: in between the kind of pissed them off and rubbed
- 1:57Speaker 1: them the wrong way, the climb with the Saint Louis Rams,
- 2:00Speaker 1: and getting inducted into the Hall of Fame. Also in
- 2:03Speaker 1: the episode, in this intro, we're gonna be talking updating
- 2:06Speaker 1: you guys with the Spring tour stuff. We're gonna be
- 2:08Speaker 1: talking about April Fools jokes. The best April Fools jokes
- 2:11Speaker 1: are tear talk for April Fools jokes and also the
- 2:14Speaker 1: little girl Cerulean bell she turns to this week. So
- 2:17Speaker 1: your boy's got a little list of dad tips that
- 2:18Speaker 1: I've journaled the last couple of years on to help
- 2:21Speaker 1: any new dads coming or the dads that have been
- 2:23Speaker 1: in the trenches thus far.
- 2:24Speaker 5: We'll have those dad tips for you.
- 2:26Speaker 1: Before we get into the intro, we bring you our
- 2:29Speaker 1: presenting sponsor, the one, the only, the Chevy Silverado. Busting
- 2:32Speaker 1: with the Boys is presented by Chevy and this is
- 2:35Speaker 1: a Chevy Truck podcast. Chevy trucks are the greatest trucks
- 2:39Speaker 1: ever built, and our good friends at Chevrolet have been
- 2:42Speaker 1: a big part of the bust and family and even in.
- 2:44Speaker 5: Our personal lives.
- 2:45Speaker 1: Your boy he rocks the ZR two and the thing
- 2:47Speaker 1: is a monster Chevy Silverado, longtime awesome partner of the show,
- 2:51Speaker 1: a truck with commanding and unstoppable grit, legendary capability and
- 2:55Speaker 1: dependability to so find out for yourself. Like so many
- 2:58Speaker 1: of the boys out there, head to Chevy check out
- 3:00Speaker 1: the Chevy Truck Grit, build your own Silverado and check
- 3:03Speaker 1: out what current offers are out there and available during
- 3:05Speaker 1: the Chevy Truck season for do it yourself projects to
- 3:08Speaker 1: off road trips, off road adventures, to tailgates, whatever your
- 3:12Speaker 1: thing is, it all starts with a Chevy Truck. Enjoy
- 3:15Speaker 1: the episode, but welcome to the episode. Right before we
- 3:19Speaker 1: got on this episode, I was talking to Mitch. Apparently
- 3:21Speaker 1: he's been he's been celebrating. He lost his Innermurals playoff game.
- 3:27Speaker 1: Is it flag football or two an touch? It's flagging
- 3:30Speaker 1: flag football. He lost the playoff game, and literally not
- 3:32Speaker 1: even twelve hours later, the next morning, he's drinking espresso
- 3:36Speaker 1: Martiniz celebrating.
- 3:37Speaker 5: I guess failure.
- 3:39Speaker 6: I wouldn't say we were celebrating.
- 3:41Speaker 7: I mean I got my buddy Dave in town, so
- 3:42Speaker 7: we got to show him a good time we had.
- 3:45Speaker 1: You don't think I have homies that come in down
- 3:46Speaker 1: to watch the game. When I would play and then
- 3:49Speaker 1: we'd lose, my boys would be right there next to me. Hey,
- 3:51Speaker 1: brod they would be drinking. You know, they could do
- 3:54Speaker 1: their thing. But I knew that we had to focus
- 3:55Speaker 1: on the next week. You apparently don't have that.
- 3:57Speaker 7: Well that was the end of the season, and at
- 4:02Speaker 7: the end of the end of the season, it's kind
- 4:03Speaker 7: of like, all right, we had a good season, we
- 4:05Speaker 7: had a good run.
- 4:06Speaker 1: Lick your wounds for about two weeks, and then get back,
- 4:09Speaker 1: get back in the gym.
- 4:10Speaker 6: Yep, and then we'll we start another league next week.
- 4:13Speaker 5: Dave, did you play it? Did you participate in this league?
- 4:15Speaker 1: I did?
- 4:16Speaker 6: I did.
- 4:16Speaker 1: I participated in the loss. It was my first game
- 4:19Speaker 1: in a while.
- 4:20Speaker 8: It was good to be back out there, you know,
- 4:21Speaker 8: get the good energy going, be with the boys playing ball.
- 4:24Speaker 1: What positions? I was playing center and linebacker.
- 4:26Speaker 5: Center and linebacker and linebacker.
- 4:28Speaker 1: I was just the guy.
- 4:29Speaker 5: Did nothing of valued off for offensively other than just
- 4:31Speaker 5: tossing the ball.
- 4:32Speaker 6: It was it was like a good uh.
- 4:35Speaker 8: I was a checkdown guy. You know, I'm not gonna
- 4:37Speaker 8: do well. I'm not going to burn a safety. But
- 4:39Speaker 8: you hit me in the flat, I'll put my shoulder
- 4:41Speaker 8: in your chin and we'll keep it moving.
- 4:42Speaker 1: Okay.
- 4:44Speaker 5: See you rock with some good with some cool friends.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Mitch. It is surprising.
- 4:49Speaker 6: Why is that surprising?
- 4:50Speaker 1: I'm teasing you, bro. You're a guys guy. You know
- 4:52Speaker 1: that you're wearing our spring game championship shirts. Battle the Boys.
- 4:58Speaker 1: What's up?
- 4:58Speaker 9: Oh?
- 4:59Speaker 5: The live show? Live show this week in Nebraska.
- 5:01Speaker 1: We will be in linked Nebraska at what is the
- 5:04Speaker 1: what's the theater called? Our producer does not know, and
- 5:07Speaker 1: neither dude does myself. It's somewhere downtown. You know, I will.
- 5:11Speaker 10: I would like to get ahead of something. Give you
- 5:14Speaker 10: all week in advance. I will not be at the
- 5:16Speaker 10: live show. For those of you pressures purchasing tickets, I
- 5:20Speaker 10: will not be there. I have my engagement party back
- 5:22Speaker 10: in Greenville, so I will not be there.
- 5:25Speaker 11: Continue And for.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Everybody wondering we did not get the invite to that
- 5:27Speaker 1: engagement party, JP's like, hey, I don't think I could
- 5:31Speaker 1: make this trip to the spring toward my engagement party
- 5:33Speaker 1: is happening. It's like you kind of know where you
- 5:35Speaker 1: fall as a friend. I guess it is just business
- 5:38Speaker 1: with this man. That's a lie. I know. I do
- 5:44Speaker 1: hate that you're not going Nebraska's like, clearly I'm biased,
- 5:48Speaker 1: but I do I enjoy. It's so much fun. I
- 5:50Speaker 1: love going back to Nebraska. And on on Friday, there's
- 5:53Speaker 1: gonna be a coaches clinic. Bill Belichick will be in attendance.
- 5:56Speaker 1: He'll be doing a He'll be speaking at the end
- 5:58Speaker 1: of the coaches clinic, but I'm kind of getting like
- 6:01Speaker 1: I kind of want to be at the clinic so
- 6:02Speaker 1: I can just listen to everybody kind of talk ball
- 6:04Speaker 1: and everything else. I feel like there's a void that's
- 6:06Speaker 1: starting to fester up a little bit more personally about
- 6:09Speaker 1: being outside the ball and being removed. And I'm kind
- 6:13Speaker 1: of getting the itch of like, you know, wanting to
- 6:17Speaker 1: like I'm asking coach Rule, what's your meeting schedule with
- 6:19Speaker 1: the players, because I would love to like sit in
- 6:21Speaker 1: on the meetings and listen to some coaching and try
- 6:24Speaker 1: to get some tit like just like be in it,
- 6:26Speaker 1: you know what I mean, I kind of like miss it.
- 6:28Speaker 1: In another like off of that too, a new pod
- 6:31Speaker 1: that's I've enjoyed that I know nothing about it. I
- 6:34Speaker 1: know nothing about the game of basketball, but I'm a
- 6:36Speaker 1: big fan of JJ Reddick in his new podcast Mind
- 6:38Speaker 1: the Game of Lebron James. I've listened to those couple
- 6:41Speaker 1: episodes and really have just listened to the front end
- 6:43Speaker 1: of the episodes where he goes over the terminology and
- 6:46Speaker 1: kind of the excell and o's of playing the game
- 6:48Speaker 1: and everything else. It's just giving me a little uh,
- 6:51Speaker 1: give me that itch to like want to be in
- 6:52Speaker 1: it a little bit more.
- 6:53Speaker 5: And honestly to the point.
- 6:55Speaker 1: And I would love to know your guys' take on
- 6:57Speaker 1: this as well, who people watching leaving a comment to
- 7:01Speaker 1: let me know your advice, but how people would feel
- 7:04Speaker 1: like if I kind of did like a terminology, did
- 7:06Speaker 1: some whiteboard stuff, because the problem I've always had with
- 7:09Speaker 1: like doing the x's and o's of football for everybody
- 7:12Speaker 1: else is like JJ Lebron, they get the copyright stuff,
- 7:15Speaker 1: they get to use the footage, Like I don't think
- 7:17Speaker 1: we're able to use the footage of the NFL in
- 7:19Speaker 1: any capacity or you kind of get next on YouTube,
- 7:22Speaker 1: But if we're able to use the way JJ does
- 7:25Speaker 1: such a good job like presenting and opening up and
- 7:29Speaker 1: transitioning and just the production level. He's somebody I've always
- 7:32Speaker 1: kind of followed the you know, to get tips on.
- 7:35Speaker 1: He does such a good job communicating with everybody and
- 7:37Speaker 1: like teaching the game. I feel like it'd be really
- 7:39Speaker 1: cool just from a perspective of whether it's defense or
- 7:44Speaker 1: he sits with Lebron and basketball too, you're able to
- 7:47Speaker 1: kind of know every position one through five. Somebody like JJ.
- 7:51Speaker 1: But if I were to whether it's sit with a safety,
- 7:55Speaker 1: a corner, an offensive lineman, a tight end to kind
- 7:58Speaker 1: of give all the different angles, say like beginner, fundamental,
- 8:02Speaker 1: X and o's. I just think it'd be cool. What
- 8:04Speaker 1: would you guys think about that? I would say, in
- 8:08Speaker 1: your yeah, in your in your expert not an opinion.
- 8:12Speaker 10: I think it's cool and I think that we definitely should.
- 8:16Speaker 10: Like to me, watching JJ Redick and Lebron James do
- 8:19Speaker 10: it together is awesome because Lebron James is a top
- 8:24Speaker 10: at least a top three player of all time. Doing
- 8:28Speaker 10: this piece of content with JJ Redick, who I mean
- 8:31Speaker 10: obviously had a great career, but at the end of
- 8:33Speaker 10: the day, he's just another guy that played in the NBA.
- 8:36Speaker 1: But he still he's so well known because of his
- 8:39Speaker 1: college years and he did he played like what twelve
- 8:41Speaker 1: years in the NBA.
- 8:42Speaker 10: For sure, But in the history of the NBA, JJ
- 8:44Speaker 10: Redick's not a name that's going to be It's not
- 8:47Speaker 10: like some crazy name. So I would say, as you're
- 8:50Speaker 10: thinking about it, and I know, I'm like, if I'm
- 8:53Speaker 10: JJ Redick when he's coming up with this idea, it's
- 8:56Speaker 10: probably crazy in his head. Like, man, it would be
- 8:59Speaker 10: sick if I could get bron to do it, So
- 9:01Speaker 10: I would say, sit in your seat. You think of
- 9:04Speaker 10: a guy that's retired right now, it'd be like, it'd
- 9:07Speaker 10: be sick. If Tom Brady would do it.
- 9:10Speaker 1: That would be sick. And I think it's achievable. Yeah, Well,
- 9:15Speaker 1: what I think JJ said done so well at is
- 9:18Speaker 1: as he's grown, he's obviously I'm gonna say better, but
- 9:22Speaker 1: not as like a disrespectful thing. I think he's he's
- 9:24Speaker 1: in the one percent of like two professions, right or three.
- 9:27Speaker 1: I guess you got the podcasting world where he has
- 9:29Speaker 1: his own business there. He's got the media world where
- 9:31Speaker 1: he's on ESPN, the basketball world where he's in the
- 9:33Speaker 1: top one percent of that. But he's done so well
- 9:36Speaker 1: in his post basketball career to where he stayed in
- 9:39Speaker 1: such an exces and O's part of the game because
- 9:41Speaker 1: he goes viral from being on ESPN and being like
- 9:43Speaker 1: upset over fans some on by this like do we.
- 9:45Speaker 5: Care about basketball?
- 9:47Speaker 1: And you know all the intricate details of basketball because
- 9:50Speaker 1: he's obsessed with that kind of stuff. And I feel
- 9:53Speaker 1: like he's done a great job of establishing himself there
- 9:56Speaker 1: to where he has that credibility and I guess that's
- 9:59Speaker 1: just maybe not maybe like knocking myself down, but I
- 10:03Speaker 1: feel like Lebron's known who he is.
- 10:06Speaker 5: Like me, I feel like, yeah this Tom Brady found
- 10:08Speaker 5: me on Twitter.
- 10:09Speaker 1: Yes, but to sit there and to to to get
- 10:13Speaker 1: in something like that, I agree with you. I think
- 10:15Speaker 1: that would be incredible because I think what's happening for
- 10:17Speaker 1: JJ or what's happened with him. Now you get Lebron
- 10:20Speaker 1: because you know you're gonna get millions of views and
- 10:23Speaker 1: everybody's gonna tune in because Lebron doesn't just do anything.
- 10:26Speaker 1: And so he's sitting one on one with JJ talking
- 10:28Speaker 1: through stuff. That's where they kind of have the footage
- 10:30Speaker 1: and everything else. Maybe the Tom would be a play
- 10:33Speaker 1: because he's.
- 10:34Speaker 11: I would encourage you to go big.
- 10:37Speaker 1: I love that and that fires me up. Yeah, because
- 10:41Speaker 1: you are you are right. It's I'm thinking of like
- 10:43Speaker 1: different different avenues because a quarterback would be the right move.
- 10:48Speaker 1: Say it's like a Peyton Manning or Tom Brady. Boys,
- 10:50Speaker 1: if you're listening you, I would love to talk some
- 10:52Speaker 1: ball with you. But uh yeah, go big. You're right,
- 10:59Speaker 1: you're right, You're right. What's what's the saying, shoot for
- 11:02Speaker 1: the shoot for the dune, shoot for the moon. You're
- 11:05Speaker 1: laying amongst the stars.
- 11:06Speaker 11: Yes, sir, it's our light, not our darkness that most
- 11:08Speaker 11: stuff frightens us.
- 11:09Speaker 1: Yeah, come on, I appreciate that, and it means even
- 11:13Speaker 1: more because you're in that polo coming fresh off church
- 11:16Speaker 1: for the east Man.
- 11:17Speaker 10: I'll tell you this though, what I had this shirt
- 11:20Speaker 10: on inside out all of church.
- 11:24Speaker 1: And nobody nobody noticed.
- 11:27Speaker 10: No, that's what pissed me off, and I had to go.
- 11:29Speaker 10: I went to the bathroom.
- 11:30Speaker 1: Hey, if everybody listens, jj jj JP doesn't cuss either.
- 11:34Speaker 1: He's got a little half word in there. He was
- 11:36Speaker 1: You could tell he was upset when he says that.
- 11:39Speaker 11: Well, dude.
- 11:39Speaker 10: I went to the bathroom towards the end and I
- 11:42Speaker 10: looked in the mirror. I was like, no, shot, I
- 11:44Speaker 10: couldn't see my I couldn't see my buttons. I was like, oh, no,
- 11:48Speaker 10: I can't go back in there because I know that
- 11:49Speaker 10: people behind me probably saying stuff.
- 11:51Speaker 11: Like that, you see his shirt.
- 11:52Speaker 1: So I went.
- 11:54Speaker 10: I was in the very back for the rest of
- 11:55Speaker 10: the service, and finally I walked over to my friends.
- 11:57Speaker 10: I actually saw Walker Zimmerman oh yeah, shot out boy Walker.
- 12:02Speaker 10: He was walking by with his kid and uh, he
- 12:04Speaker 10: was like, oh, what's up, man, how you doing? I
- 12:06Speaker 10: was like, good man, you won't believe what just happened
- 12:07Speaker 10: to me? Like why are you standing out here? I
- 12:09Speaker 10: was like sure it was inside out the whole time,
- 12:11Speaker 10: just now realized it because I nobody said a word
- 12:14Speaker 10: in there walking up on you.
- 12:16Speaker 5: You're just smoking a cigarette. Hey man, you go, you
- 12:18Speaker 5: don't know what just happened there.
- 12:19Speaker 10: Man, Yeah, That's why I'm in this polo never again,
- 12:24Speaker 10: never again.
- 12:26Speaker 1: But yeah, and for that last conversation, we'd love to
- 12:28Speaker 1: know what you guys would think, because I'm just kind
- 12:30Speaker 1: of like, I know, I'm almost like itching to get
- 12:32Speaker 1: into some more football content and like trying to figure
- 12:35Speaker 1: out like how to do it, especially if we'd be
- 12:37Speaker 1: able to use like footage to break stuff down. And
- 12:39Speaker 1: I don't know if it's like like remember when Orlowsky
- 12:42Speaker 1: Like Orlowski would be a lot of fun to sit
- 12:44Speaker 1: down with. He would be really good with that stuff,
- 12:48Speaker 1: but when he was kind of I was seeing his
- 12:50Speaker 1: thing last week where he was given flowers to Peter
- 12:53Speaker 1: Schreger and then and then McAfee on the McFee show,
- 12:57Speaker 1: but he would just record like his iPad. I wonder
- 13:00Speaker 1: if that's something where we get where we would get
- 13:02Speaker 1: in trouble doing that. I'm not yeah Baldy breakdowns, but
- 13:07Speaker 1: again he's somebody that works with the network, So I'm
- 13:10Speaker 1: I just get curious if that's like, uh, you kind
- 13:13Speaker 1: of like get a pass for doing something, like like
- 13:15Speaker 1: you get the copyright stuff or you're allowed to do
- 13:17Speaker 1: it because you're like on staff.
- 13:19Speaker 11: Uh.
- 13:20Speaker 1: In the medium update with the Spring tour content, just
- 13:23Speaker 1: to like let you guys know how we're gonna be
- 13:25Speaker 1: releasing this stuff because I know. We were at Florida
- 13:26Speaker 1: State last week and we had some awesome conversations with
- 13:29Speaker 1: coach Norvel. He was a lot of fun to sit
- 13:31Speaker 1: down with. We sat down with Braydon Fisk, Peyton Patrick
- 13:36Speaker 1: and also DJ Ooh younga Galley, Ooh Younga Galley, oongalay
- 13:42Speaker 1: ooh young Goole.
- 13:43Speaker 5: Yeah, maybe it's o Ungala he was. He was fun
- 13:46Speaker 5: to sit down with.
- 13:47Speaker 9: I also think it's Patrick Peyton. Yeah what I say
- 13:50Speaker 9: Peyton Patrick? Oh, my my fault, my fault, P my
- 13:54Speaker 9: fault PP. But those were fun conversations. Those interviews are
- 13:58Speaker 9: going to be released next week. So if you guys
- 14:01Speaker 9: are watching out, what we're gonna do is Coach Norvel.
- 14:03Speaker 9: He's gonna be our main bust with the Boys interview,
- 14:05Speaker 9: and then we're gonna be dropping those interviews with the
- 14:06Speaker 9: players the day before and.
- 14:08Speaker 1: Is it the day after? Is is it all gonna
- 14:10Speaker 1: be on Monday and Tuesday? Mitch Jief, do you know.
- 14:13Speaker 6: I think we still have one more episode before.
- 14:16Speaker 1: No, but we're we'll just we'll put we might push
- 14:19Speaker 1: that one, we might push that one back, okay, or
- 14:21Speaker 1: we might just do Norvel that same week because what
- 14:23Speaker 1: I don't want to do is I want all the
- 14:25Speaker 1: Florida State stuff to come out when it all happens. Yeah,
- 14:28Speaker 1: because I know next week, just to tease or just
- 14:30Speaker 1: a shout out, who we're gonna have next week, we
- 14:32Speaker 1: had Michael Bisbee in Vegas as well, and three hundred
- 14:35Speaker 1: is next weekend, so right, okay, yeah, so that'll work
- 14:42Speaker 1: out fine, Yeah, we'll do uh because we want to
- 14:45Speaker 1: do Bisbee right before UFC three hundred. He was a
- 14:47Speaker 1: fucking blast. Talk about charisma. He was a lot of
- 14:49Speaker 1: fun to sit down with. All of his storytelling, but
- 14:52Speaker 1: ultimately all of our spring tour content is going to
- 14:54Speaker 1: be coming out.
- 14:55Speaker 5: Every week starting next week.
- 14:58Speaker 1: We did Florida State last week that we'll come out
- 15:00Speaker 1: next week, and we're doing Nebraska this coming weekend. When
- 15:04Speaker 1: we're there on April fifth and six, we're gonna be
- 15:06Speaker 1: sitting down with Coach Rule. I have a quarterback sitting
- 15:11Speaker 1: down with the boys, a big interview coming up, and
- 15:15Speaker 1: those that were released the following week, so we'll get
- 15:17Speaker 1: that stuff rolling out week after week. Florida State first,
- 15:20Speaker 1: Nebraska second, Oregon third, Alabama fourth, And for those with
- 15:25Speaker 1: the live show stuff, again, everybody last week who came
- 15:28Speaker 1: to the meet and Greek had a fucking blast with
- 15:30Speaker 1: you guys. Thanks for showing up, and again apologize about
- 15:33Speaker 1: all the live show stuff. How we had to pool
- 15:35Speaker 1: the day before. That was a very bad move on
- 15:37Speaker 1: our part. We should have let you guys know sooner
- 15:40Speaker 1: as soon as we found out, because it was kind
- 15:42Speaker 1: of like a you know, we didn't know until like
- 15:44Speaker 1: that week leading up to it was kind of up
- 15:46Speaker 1: in the air about the live show, and then sponsors
- 15:49Speaker 1: that were involved with the live show, and then hey,
- 15:51Speaker 1: it'd be good if Taylor is present, and then I
- 15:54Speaker 1: was like, okay, if we can move this show, one
- 15:57Speaker 1: of these shows being the Florida State one, if we
- 16:00Speaker 1: can move that to like a Nashville one for when
- 16:01Speaker 1: that boy does get back, it'd be a lot bigger
- 16:04Speaker 1: because I feel like at times we have a big following.
- 16:07Speaker 1: I mean, people love that we came out to Florida State.
- 16:09Speaker 1: But again, like last week, whether on Twitter, in the
- 16:12Speaker 1: episode like selling like thirty tickets, we kind of shoot
- 16:15Speaker 1: ourselves in the foot because a lot of tours, if
- 16:16Speaker 1: you think about it, say a comedian or I'm ignorantly
- 16:21Speaker 1: going to say like a local band, like you plan
- 16:23Speaker 1: your tour around where your biggest audiences are at first,
- 16:27Speaker 1: we plan our spring tour around getting into new markets
- 16:31Speaker 1: with college football, So Florida State at an example. Oregon
- 16:35Speaker 1: has another example, Alabama's closer to Nashville. So I'd be
- 16:38Speaker 1: curious to see how that live show, how that turned out.
- 16:40Speaker 1: It is, But we base our stuff around the content
- 16:43Speaker 1: shooting at these colleges and where we shoot ourselves in
- 16:45Speaker 1: the foot, is we Obviously we don't. We're thinner audience
- 16:48Speaker 1: wise when we go to different corners of the country,
- 16:51Speaker 1: so we're not.
- 16:51Speaker 5: We didn't have our live show in Florida State. We
- 16:53Speaker 5: moved that to Nashville.
- 16:54Speaker 1: We're doing one in Lincoln because that's obviously your boy,
- 16:58Speaker 1: and then in Alabama.
- 17:00Speaker 5: But we'll see how that one turns out.
- 17:01Speaker 1: So we have those three live shows Nebraska this week
- 17:04Speaker 1: April fifth. We have Alabama that's going to be April
- 17:07Speaker 1: twenty third, April twenty third, April twenty fourth, one of
- 17:11Speaker 1: those dates, and then the Nashville one. We're trying to
- 17:13Speaker 1: figure out the space we're going to use and we
- 17:15Speaker 1: will be announcing when we'll be doing Nashville. So all
- 17:19Speaker 1: those live shows will still happened. Shout out to the boys.
- 17:20Speaker 1: You showed up a Florida State last week. We had
- 17:22Speaker 1: a lot of fun, drink a lot of drink, a
- 17:24Speaker 1: lot of twisted tea, and had a good time with
- 17:26Speaker 1: you guys. And so that's the update on all the
- 17:28Speaker 1: Spring tour content. What else do we have? Should we
- 17:34Speaker 1: hit a you know what I didn't do. I didn't
- 17:36Speaker 1: hit that Chevy Reid.
- 17:39Speaker 5: But we have DraftKings.
- 17:41Speaker 1: The Greens in Augusta will soon host golf's greatest players.
- 17:45Speaker 1: In DraftKings is bringing you closer to the action with
- 17:48Speaker 1: a major offer to celebrate the tournament this week, All

- 18:16Speaker 1: started placing bets now in baseball, and I followed the data.
- 18:20Speaker 5: I trust the data with Stephen Shade.
- 18:21Speaker 1: In the NBA. I'm own one there Again, everything I
- 18:24Speaker 1: touch seems to lose, and Garrett is not here. But
- 18:27Speaker 1: congrats to Alabama. I did bet the Clemson money line

- 18:51Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 18:52Speaker 5: I can JP, do you want to kick us off?
- 18:55Speaker 5: I see Mitch?
- 18:55Speaker 1: Back there oh yeah, shout out the espresso, mar teeny Mitch,
- 19:02Speaker 1: I got one.
- 19:03Speaker 10: I actually do have one, okay, because the past two
- 19:06Speaker 10: days by I usually don't have allergies. But now, for
- 19:10Speaker 10: whatever reason, my eyes have been they've been itching. You
- 19:13Speaker 10: saw how my eye was getting swollen in Florida State
- 19:16Speaker 10: for all the farting we were filling that room of
- 19:19Speaker 10: gas worth.
- 19:20Speaker 3: It, I do it again.
- 19:22Speaker 10: Yeah, but now my eyes have been Now, my eyes
- 19:25Speaker 10: have been itching a lot. And last night I just
- 19:30Speaker 10: had a good, healthy, slightly painful sneeze that just felt
- 19:35Speaker 10: so nice when once I finally completed it, and I like,
- 19:39Speaker 10: you know, had boogers kind of hanging out of my
- 19:40Speaker 10: nose after it where you gotta wipe it off a
- 19:43Speaker 10: little bit after. But yeah, just shout eno free shout
- 19:46Speaker 10: out to a good hard sneeze that clears you from
- 19:49Speaker 10: the stern them all the way up into your nose.
- 19:51Speaker 1: Bro.
- 19:51Speaker 5: And sometimes it's enjoyable when you just do three sneezes
- 19:54Speaker 5: in a row.
- 19:55Speaker 10: Yeah, but they if you hit four, it's annoying, like
- 19:58Speaker 10: to everyone else.
- 19:59Speaker 1: Right, But if you're kind of sitting chilling on your own, yeah,
- 20:02Speaker 1: you're kind of enjoying, like Okay, this will sprinkle coming
- 20:04Speaker 1: to my nose again? Like why am I sneezing so much?
- 20:06Speaker 1: And you just boom, look up at the light. Yeah.
- 20:09Speaker 10: How many sneezes do you think you get before people
- 20:12Speaker 10: can stop saying bless you?
- 20:15Speaker 1: I think you got two?
- 20:16Speaker 11: Yeah, yeah, that's how that's how I feel. How do
- 20:18Speaker 11: y'all feel?
- 20:19Speaker 7: I mean, my mom will go on like as much
- 20:21Speaker 7: she sneezes, it's not ever just once or twice, it's
- 20:24Speaker 7: like six or seven.
- 20:25Speaker 6: You just kind of let her have that. Like I said,
- 20:27Speaker 6: atension seeking sneeze sneeze attack, those.
- 20:30Speaker 5: Are the intention seeking sneezers out.
- 20:32Speaker 6: Attention sneezing, and we'll just wait until she's done sneezing.
- 20:35Speaker 6: And they're like, bless you.
- 20:37Speaker 1: So but because when she hits one and you're like, hey,
- 20:40Speaker 1: is this going to be one of those.
- 20:41Speaker 6: No, it's always one of those that we kind of
- 20:42Speaker 6: learned that.
- 20:43Speaker 1: So you just say, here we go.
- 20:45Speaker 6: Yep, I do your thing and we'll bless you when
- 20:48Speaker 6: you're done.
- 20:48Speaker 11: Stand back.
- 20:49Speaker 1: You remember that little uh. People used to say like, hey,
- 20:52Speaker 1: when you sneeze, you die for a second, like your
- 20:54Speaker 1: heart's off speeding. So that's why they say God bless
- 20:56Speaker 1: you because you're like coming back to life. No, but
- 20:59Speaker 1: I like that you like that, huh? I uh somebody.
- 21:02Speaker 1: I think I was in like middle school and somebody
- 21:04Speaker 1: told me that. They're like, hey, you know why they
- 21:05Speaker 1: say bless you right, like God, bless you. It's like, so,
- 21:07Speaker 1: where's when you sneeze your like heart skips a beat,
- 21:09Speaker 1: like you die for a second, you come back. So
- 21:11Speaker 1: I was like, hey, but so say it again, say
- 21:15Speaker 1: it again.
- 21:15Speaker 11: What do you say when I sneeze?
- 21:17Speaker 1: Bless you?
- 21:19Speaker 11: Bless you?
- 21:19Speaker 6: Right?
- 21:20Speaker 10: Yeah, like b l E s h.
- 21:24Speaker 1: I mean yeah if you're like, yeah, that's how I
- 21:27Speaker 1: bless you, bless you. But I feel like it just
- 21:30Speaker 1: runs together, bless you, bless you.
- 21:31Speaker 11: It's just I was always caught my ear. What was
- 21:34Speaker 11: I say? Bless you?
- 21:36Speaker 1: But yeah, you get people too, it's like bless you.
- 21:38Speaker 1: They see us again, bless you. You kind of say
- 21:41Speaker 1: it like you bring it down, like all right.
- 21:43Speaker 11: Move rooms if you're gonna do this again.
- 21:45Speaker 1: Yeah, the attention seeking like okay, what do you what's
- 21:47Speaker 1: going on right now? They say it again. You just
- 21:49Speaker 1: got to say, hey, that's enough, what's going on at work? Okay,
- 21:55Speaker 1: bless you again. All right, come on, man, shut up.
- 22:01Speaker 1: You're around with somebody enough. You just get upset with him.
- 22:08Speaker 1: Sometimes I'm like that with Charro, She'll like hit a
- 22:10Speaker 1: third one. I'm like, all right, are you good? Watch TV?
- 22:14Speaker 5: You need me to pull the car over? Fuck, Mitch,
- 22:18Speaker 5: what do you got?
- 22:19Speaker 6: I'm gonna go with the little hanging fruit.
- 22:21Speaker 7: I don't know if you shot when your boys come
- 22:23Speaker 7: into town, you just kind of we we had a
- 22:26Speaker 7: good time. It's been a minute since I've seen Davy,
- 22:29Speaker 7: and this strip kind of happened like on a little
- 22:32Speaker 7: bit of a whim. But he stayed up with us
- 22:34Speaker 7: all week, was couch crashing, and then we were able
- 22:38Speaker 7: to hit the town pretty hard Friday night and Saturday night.
- 22:42Speaker 6: So and it's always a good time to be with him.
- 22:45Speaker 5: And how do you take care of you, Dave? Did
- 22:48Speaker 5: he feed you each night?
- 22:49Speaker 1: Like whoa, whoa, whoa whoa? We working with that?
- 22:53Speaker 8: Out of respect, I did do a grocery run because
- 22:55Speaker 8: I was there all week. So that's the least I
- 22:58Speaker 8: could do. At least I'm keeping the boys pantry stocked.
- 23:01Speaker 5: Because oh, you were stalking him.
- 23:03Speaker 1: I was stalking him, you notice, and you're like, hey,
- 23:05Speaker 1: is everything okay, Like I'm gonna go. Selection pretty much blows.
- 23:08Speaker 8: So I really had to upgrade him in like the
- 23:10Speaker 8: granola bar category for sure. Popcorn, you know, get a
- 23:14Speaker 8: little skinny pop in there, white cheddar age, white cheddar.
- 23:17Speaker 1: It's like crack that is. That's a yeah, that's a
- 23:19Speaker 1: that's a good pool.
- 23:20Speaker 11: Yeah, no doubt, no doubt about it.
- 23:22Speaker 1: Pantry suffers like that, Mitch, because you don't even eat
- 23:25Speaker 1: actual meals, right.
- 23:26Speaker 7: Like, my.
- 23:28Speaker 6: It's bad.
- 23:30Speaker 1: How old are you?
- 23:31Speaker 6: Twenty five?
- 23:32Speaker 1: I mean I guess that's to be twenty six.
- 23:35Speaker 5: Like I guess that's like I feel a little on
- 23:38Speaker 5: par but I mean.
- 23:39Speaker 7: No, I mean I just got to like take the
- 23:42Speaker 7: time to go to the store and like pick some
- 23:45Speaker 7: good shit out. I just like get the necessities, like
- 23:48Speaker 7: my peanut butter, my jelly, my granola bars for lunch.
- 23:51Speaker 1: Like you rich crackers, Yeah, my.
- 23:53Speaker 7: Rich cracker, Like I need to get like vegetables and
- 23:56Speaker 7: fruit and well I had meat kind of meet you. Yeah,
- 24:01Speaker 7: I got some of that chicken, got some ground beef.
- 24:05Speaker 7: But one thing I get a lot is Italian sausage.
- 24:08Speaker 7: So you mean, yeah, I'm staying stocked up with the meat.
- 24:12Speaker 7: I need to make a cottage by everybody knows the rules.
- 24:14Speaker 1: Yeah, that's sausage boy.
- 24:16Speaker 7: But I told you I started that oats a little oats,
- 24:20Speaker 7: a little concoction.
- 24:21Speaker 6: So I'm kind of taking a little bit more care
- 24:23Speaker 6: of myself.
- 24:24Speaker 1: Morning the morning oats. Yeah, got the morning oats coming
- 24:27Speaker 1: out of the fridge. You talking about how he takes care.
- 24:29Speaker 1: He's been taking care of better care of his body.
- 24:30Speaker 1: And then within the next twenty minutes is Panda Express arrived.
- 24:37Speaker 6: That is what happened, Dave.
- 24:38Speaker 1: You got a shout out. Hey, I've got to say,
- 24:41Speaker 1: you've been You've been crushing it on the bus. That's
- 24:43Speaker 1: far really Yeah, it's like you've just been one of
- 24:45Speaker 1: the boys. Watch. I literally I've just met this man.
- 24:48Speaker 8: I'm a listener, man, I'm a listener. I'm a huge
- 24:49Speaker 8: fan of you guys. A shout out.
- 24:50Speaker 1: No, if you shout out to the bus man, I'm
- 24:52Speaker 1: really happy to be here.
- 24:53Speaker 11: Thanks for having me.
- 24:54Speaker 1: Let's fucking go. Let's go, man.
- 24:56Speaker 5: I don't necessarily I don't have one.
- 24:58Speaker 11: That's not going to cut that.
- 25:00Speaker 1: It's not good enough. Shout out, no free shout out
- 25:03Speaker 1: April fools jokes, No, U turning two. The probably the
- 25:07Speaker 1: sack race. Yeah yeah, shout out no free shout out
- 25:10Speaker 1: to Sack Races.
- 25:12Speaker 5: Mitch Roun the clip, as you guys saw, I leave everything.
- 25:26Speaker 1: I leave everything out on the field during competition.
- 25:30Speaker 5: Honestly, my wife had to stop me.
- 25:31Speaker 1: I wanted to get in against the kids because I
- 25:33Speaker 1: saw them do the first heat and I was like,
- 25:35Speaker 1: all right, sweetheart, all my drink. It's like, babe, like
- 25:38Speaker 1: you're not like, don't go out there on the kids,
- 25:40Speaker 1: like you don't have to do everything for content. I
- 25:41Speaker 1: was like, okay, you are correct, those facts are true.
- 25:46Speaker 1: And then we get out there the adults. Tailor's like,
- 25:48Speaker 1: we're going to do an adult sack race, and I
- 25:51Speaker 1: see some of the boys get out there. I'm trying
- 25:53Speaker 1: to get Chandler out there. He of course pussy's out.
- 25:57Speaker 1: But I see Randall Cobb and his boys, his sons
- 25:59Speaker 1: were in and the kids ones. I was like, I
- 26:01Speaker 1: gotta I gotta make a stand here. We can't let
- 26:03Speaker 1: the Cobs sweep the board. Now on that race, everybody
- 26:06Speaker 1: thought Randall Cob won. That was a photo finish. I
- 26:09Speaker 1: think I give myself the nod. If you saw the clip,
- 26:13Speaker 1: I go down hard, I start off, I'm like, Okay,
- 26:16Speaker 1: how am I gonna do this? There's five of us
- 26:18Speaker 1: sitting here. I'm just gonna go quick. How am I
- 26:20Speaker 1: little back? How's my little back gonna do in this situation?
- 26:22Speaker 1: I'm kind of going out here dry, no warm up,
- 26:25Speaker 1: and so I started going. Once we get halfway through,
- 26:27Speaker 1: I realized, like, yo, I can fucking take this thing home.
- 26:29Speaker 1: And so I start picking it up and going and
- 26:31Speaker 1: I'm just lunging and reaching him. Bro, I just bro.
- 26:38Speaker 1: Whoever was filming, I think it sounded like bree bree
- 26:41Speaker 1: Chandler's like, oh my god, will oh but yeah, shout
- 26:47Speaker 1: out know if he shout out to sack racist man.
- 26:49Speaker 1: By the way, I was either because I was text
- 26:53Speaker 1: with Randall. I don't know if he commented this on
- 26:55Speaker 1: the Instagram post or text me this, but he was like, Hey,
- 26:59Speaker 1: sack race Olympics. Maybe you do a sack race at
- 27:02Speaker 1: the end of the Olympics, like do it in kind
- 27:04Speaker 1: of the final the finals? Like part of that is
- 27:08Speaker 1: he coming? Yeah? I told him to come. He needs
- 27:10Speaker 1: to come on the bus.
- 27:11Speaker 5: Yeah, He's down to come on the bus.
- 27:13Speaker 1: We were having some fun conversations about the Jets the
- 27:16Speaker 1: Packers because he's been on the Jets, the Packers, Houston, Dallas,
- 27:21Speaker 1: So yeah, I think random would be awesome.
- 27:24Speaker 6: It was really good Rogers stories.
- 27:26Speaker 5: Yeah, Zach Wilson stories, he's part of all that.
- 27:31Speaker 10: When Will was telling me about the sack race yesterday,
- 27:35Speaker 10: I asked him. I was like, kind of looked like
- 27:37Speaker 10: you wanted did you win? He was like, they're like,
- 27:40Speaker 10: I think, but they were saying random one or something.
- 27:42Speaker 11: But they were all there.
- 27:47Speaker 10: But he was mad that random won.
- 27:50Speaker 1: For some reason, I stay quiet about it, but I
- 27:52Speaker 1: did that. Straw was like, hey, you thought Random one that, like,
- 27:55Speaker 1: I could have swore I got him. He's like, yeah,
- 27:58Speaker 1: I mean it was close. Bb, it was just.
- 28:04Speaker 5: But yeah, shout out no free you shout out to that.

- 29:39Speaker 1: a couple of classics that we've done ourselves, some that
- 29:41Speaker 1: we've seen, some that we've heard about.
- 29:43Speaker 5: We will kick it off, Mitch, are you ready to
- 29:45Speaker 5: do yours? You're ready to do your list? All right,
- 29:47Speaker 5: Mitch best April Fools jokes.
- 29:49Speaker 6: All right. So I'm gonna start with an honorable mention.
- 29:53Speaker 7: This is one that like one of my teachers told
- 29:55Speaker 7: me that he did in high school or college for
- 29:58Speaker 7: like his senior prank. They got four pigs and like
- 30:02Speaker 7: let them into the school and they numbered them one, two,
- 30:05Speaker 7: and four. So when they found like the fourth pig
- 30:10Speaker 7: or the pig with the number four, they were like,
- 30:11Speaker 7: where's the third one? So kind of like a little oh,
- 30:14Speaker 7: there's actually only three pigs, but it's numbered up to four. Yeah,
- 30:17Speaker 7: kind of a little something like that. That's my that's
- 30:19Speaker 7: why it's an honorable mention. Uh, that's a.
- 30:22Speaker 1: Good little prank.
- 30:22Speaker 5: Anytime you can do something to this school man.
- 30:24Speaker 1: Like if there's any I don't know how big are
- 30:26Speaker 1: a high school audience is, but a you get a couple,
- 30:29Speaker 1: get a couple of bangers here.
- 30:31Speaker 7: Uh, and then my tier three, Well, because it's when
- 30:38Speaker 7: it doesn't. It takes a lot of effort to kind
- 30:40Speaker 7: of do this, and like you're kind of an asshole
- 30:42Speaker 7: if you do it. But like you saran wrap the toilet,
- 30:46Speaker 7: so like there's like you just the layer of saran
- 30:48Speaker 7: wrap that's clear right over like where you sit and pee.
- 30:51Speaker 11: That was one of mine.
- 30:52Speaker 7: And when you pee on it, like you're peeing on
- 30:54Speaker 7: the seran rap, it just sprays pee everywhere and you're
- 30:59Speaker 7: just immediately pissed off because you got to clean up piss's.
- 31:03Speaker 5: And you're saying, that's at the journal, are you talking?
- 31:05Speaker 6: No, that's all like the toilet, like we could do
- 31:06Speaker 6: it too, We do.
- 31:07Speaker 1: It under the seat.
- 31:08Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 31:09Speaker 1: So if you said took a ship you're just sitting
- 31:11Speaker 1: on yeah yeah, yeah, what the fuck?
- 31:15Speaker 5: Starts hitting your taint a little bit, you start smelling it.
- 31:18Speaker 1: Oh my.
- 31:19Speaker 7: So that's tier three and then tier two. I feel
- 31:23Speaker 7: like this is a classic. Uh is it start sixty
- 31:26Speaker 7: nine or start sixty seven? It's it's it's one of those.
- 31:30Speaker 7: It could have been both of them. The like no
- 31:33Speaker 7: caller id right, literally prank calling people. That one was
- 31:37Speaker 7: just just a classic.
- 31:38Speaker 5: Did you have a go to prank call?
- 31:40Speaker 7: I didn't per se because I was kind of nervous
- 31:42Speaker 7: to do it, but I just kind of we would.
- 31:45Speaker 1: We would try and like just make our own story
- 31:49Speaker 1: based off ones that Roy Mercer. I know. I've talked
- 31:52Speaker 1: about roy De Mercer before on the podcast roy D
- 31:55Speaker 1: Mercer this like incredible. He's like a radio guy who
- 31:58Speaker 1: always did like these incredible pranks. So you know how
- 32:00Speaker 1: I'm talking about roy D roy D by God Mercer.
- 32:02Speaker 6: It sounds familiar.
- 32:04Speaker 5: You gotta get you if you don't know who.
- 32:07Speaker 1: Roy D Mercer is, you are, Yeah, I gotta tap in.
- 32:10Speaker 1: You were not tapped in, bro, That's why I said
- 32:12Speaker 1: I got to Yeah.
- 32:14Speaker 7: But then, uh so my tier one, this one, it's
- 32:18Speaker 7: it's a really quick one, but when it happens to you,
- 32:20Speaker 7: your stomach immediately drops. It's like when someone texts you
- 32:24Speaker 7: or like comes up to you. It's like, Yo, did
- 32:25Speaker 7: you did you mean to post that? And you're like,
- 32:28Speaker 7: oh shit, Like what did I just post something I
- 32:30Speaker 7: shouldn't have? Like maybe you were nice, little quick one
- 32:33Speaker 7: talking to somebody like that. Maybe thanks for getting a
- 32:36Speaker 7: little bit a little freaky or something, and.
- 32:38Speaker 1: You that photos out there.
- 32:43Speaker 7: Somebody comes up to you and you're like, yo, did
- 32:45Speaker 7: you did you mean to post that on your story?
- 32:47Speaker 7: And your immediate like fuck, like what what did I
- 32:49Speaker 7: just do? And then you like go and like everything's
- 32:50Speaker 7: there and you're like you're such a that. But that
- 32:53Speaker 7: immediate anxiety that hits you is like your brain just
- 32:56Speaker 7: starts going everywhere.
- 32:58Speaker 6: So that's my Tier one and that is my.
- 33:00Speaker 1: Or something of that.
- 33:00Speaker 11: And we did that to Travis right right right.
- 33:03Speaker 5: Hey, you meant to you meant to post that last
- 33:05Speaker 5: on your story?
- 33:06Speaker 1: He was playing it off, but he was like, I
- 33:08Speaker 1: was like, Hey, I'm just fucking with you. He's like, man,
- 33:10Speaker 1: I was thinking of my Hey, like, yo, did somebody
- 33:11Speaker 1: post them? When he was out here in Nashville. Tighten you, Hey,
- 33:14Speaker 1: you meant to you mean to drop them in your story?
- 33:16Speaker 1: I saw you kind of got it off there late
- 33:18Speaker 1: this morning. He's like ah, you know. He like he
- 33:21Speaker 1: was just trying to play it cool. And I was like,
- 33:23Speaker 1: I'm just fucking with you, Dave. You got something you
- 33:26Speaker 1: want to get in the mix, I'll get Yeah, I'll
- 33:27Speaker 1: get in the mix here.
- 33:29Speaker 8: Tier three is kind of a classic one, like you
- 33:32Speaker 8: cover your buddy's car or something and post it notes
- 33:35Speaker 8: and they got to go through and they blow all
- 33:37Speaker 8: over the place. Then they can get banged for littering
- 33:39Speaker 8: if they don't pick it up. So it's a total
- 33:42Speaker 8: it's a total inconvenience for him for her, and uh
- 33:46Speaker 8: my Tier two just would be like me and my boys.
- 33:49Speaker 1: You got to do it to the.
- 33:50Speaker 8: Very irritable teacher, but you hide like important items that
- 33:54Speaker 8: they need in the classroom for the class period to
- 33:58Speaker 8: lay it all.
- 33:59Speaker 1: I don't want to have to watch this power point.
- 34:01Speaker 8: Let's screw with their clicker, like just totally inconvenience her
- 34:05Speaker 8: in her day. And then a Tier one is actually
- 34:08Speaker 8: something I.
- 34:09Speaker 1: Did to a roommate.
- 34:11Speaker 8: My roommate loads arcauric before the night before just so
- 34:16Speaker 8: he could pop the button whatever, have his coffee made.
- 34:19Speaker 1: Well. I replaced it with a Papa.
- 34:22Speaker 8: John's garlic pod one time and he wasn't paying attention,
- 34:27Speaker 8: you know, he sets his coffee, lets it go. So
- 34:29Speaker 8: the boy had a sip of just straight garlic water
- 34:32Speaker 8: and said it was horrible.
- 34:33Speaker 1: So that starts to today. Yeah, yeah, I know. It
- 34:37Speaker 1: was definitely got to be.
- 34:38Speaker 5: A little distracted to where he's not looking.
- 34:40Speaker 1: It's premeditated, you know.
- 34:42Speaker 8: I had to be down there and made sure I
- 34:43Speaker 8: was having a conversation with him so he didn't see
- 34:45Speaker 8: it or any of that, and it worked out.
- 34:47Speaker 1: It worked out. In my favorite nice list, it's a
- 34:49Speaker 1: good list.
- 34:50Speaker 5: JP, What do you got, I'll do.
- 34:53Speaker 10: My honorable mention will be just anytime your friend falls
- 34:57Speaker 10: asleep and you just start stacking stuff them.
- 35:00Speaker 1: I don't know why. I think it's hilarious.
- 35:03Speaker 11: They fall as leaven and you just put like ten
- 35:05Speaker 11: pillows on him.
- 35:06Speaker 10: And one time in college, one of our friends fell
- 35:08Speaker 10: asleep and he fell asleep face down, and we spread
- 35:11Speaker 10: peanut butter on the back of his leg and we're
- 35:13Speaker 10: like putting crumbs.
- 35:15Speaker 11: That were on the ground.
- 35:16Speaker 10: And oh, and this guy is he was He was
- 35:18Speaker 10: nasty man. He went to the gym and he didn't
- 35:21Speaker 10: notice the peanut butter until he got to the gym.
- 35:25Speaker 5: Like until he had to change.
- 35:26Speaker 10: No, no, no, he didn't even change. He woke up,
- 35:31Speaker 10: went to the gym, and.
- 35:32Speaker 1: Then he text us, did you guys put peanut butter
- 35:34Speaker 1: on my leg?
- 35:35Speaker 5: Dang, you're just now finding out right, or.
- 35:38Speaker 1: Like when you take a marker and just you know,
- 35:40Speaker 1: obviously draw dicks on your boy's face. Yeah, I love cock.
- 35:44Speaker 1: That's like, I actually have a photo my phone, Mitch.
- 35:49Speaker 1: I'll give it to you so people can see a reference.
- 35:52Speaker 10: Sorry logan, Yeah, the middle school sleepover pranks for brutal.
- 35:58Speaker 10: My Tier three was I think, uh whatever Mitch was saying,
- 36:05Speaker 10: sarane rap, So you can you can serand wrap the toilet,
- 36:08Speaker 10: or you can saranne wrap the doorway. The person's like
- 36:12Speaker 10: a head legs and they're walking and they just smack
- 36:15Speaker 10: the saran wrap, which is a fun one. And then
- 36:20Speaker 10: there is Tier two autocorrect. You can change like say,
- 36:25Speaker 10: whenever you type the word the you can change somebody's
- 36:29Speaker 10: phone to where it could say like.
- 36:33Speaker 1: Oh yeah yea yeah, like something that you know, you know,
- 36:37Speaker 1: like is part of their language and texting, you go
- 36:40Speaker 1: on their phone and change the word to.
- 36:42Speaker 10: So say, if you're doing it to your parents, who's
- 36:44Speaker 10: super conservative, you'd be like that. Anytime they say the
- 36:48Speaker 10: it'll say I love Joe Biden and so so they'll
- 36:52Speaker 10: be like, hey, you know what's done?
- 36:54Speaker 1: Is I Why does this.
- 36:55Speaker 5: Keep changing to this happy transgender day?
- 37:00Speaker 6: Right?
- 37:01Speaker 1: Oh? Yeah?
- 37:01Speaker 11: That is today When we're recording.
- 37:05Speaker 10: A prank we did on my mom, I think I
- 37:08Speaker 10: mixed these up.
- 37:08Speaker 11: This is actually too too.
- 37:10Speaker 10: My brother he's super savvy with phones, and so he
- 37:14Speaker 10: was able to text my mom from an unfamiliar number
- 37:18Speaker 10: and he was texting her as if he was somewhere
- 37:21Speaker 10: in our neighborhood and was dialed in on my mom
- 37:25Speaker 10: and he's texting it and it's like, why is there
- 37:28Speaker 10: like a white truck in front of your house right now?
- 37:31Speaker 10: And we're all in the room with my mom knowing
- 37:32Speaker 10: my brother Sam's doing this, and she's not saying anything
- 37:35Speaker 10: at first because she doesn't want anybody to panic.
- 37:38Speaker 11: He just sits on the chair.
- 37:40Speaker 10: She gets up, goes to check.
- 37:43Speaker 1: She's like, this is so weird.
- 37:45Speaker 11: We're like, what's going on?
- 37:45Speaker 10: She's like nothing, and then the next text is like
- 37:48Speaker 10: you should sit back down. She's like, okay, guys, this
- 37:52Speaker 10: is really freaking me out. She's like, here, look at this,
- 37:56Speaker 10: and then she's showing us the text messages.
- 37:58Speaker 1: Are you guys playing it up?
- 38:00Speaker 11: Oh?
- 38:00Speaker 1: Are you guys still? Like?
- 38:01Speaker 10: We're like, oh, We're like it's probably Alex, my oldest brother,
- 38:04Speaker 10: Like it's probably nothing, like he's probably here because it's
- 38:06Speaker 10: around Christmas time.
- 38:07Speaker 1: Yeh.
- 38:08Speaker 11: She's like, ah, this is.
- 38:09Speaker 1: Just really weird.
- 38:10Speaker 10: And she we just got her an Apple Watch, so
- 38:14Speaker 10: she was setting up her Apple Watch during this time.
- 38:17Speaker 10: So she's thinking it has something to do with that.
- 38:19Speaker 10: And so my brother Sam, who's orchestrating this whole thing.
- 38:23Speaker 10: Every now and then, he's texting her it's all connected,
- 38:26Speaker 10: like your watch is all good. Yeah, and so she's like,
- 38:30Speaker 10: they keep saying it's all connected. And then she's like,
- 38:33Speaker 10: you know, the message will say, you know, like you
- 38:37Speaker 10: need to put your dog inside before something bad happens.
- 38:40Speaker 1: It's all connected. She's like, what's connected?
- 38:43Speaker 5: Are you guys a break? Are you guys laughing at
- 38:46Speaker 5: this point?
- 38:46Speaker 1: No? But were you guys kind of spas and maybe
- 38:48Speaker 1: looking out windows being like trying to figure it out
- 38:51Speaker 1: with her.
- 38:51Speaker 10: We're like, mom, you gotta stop texting this person like
- 38:55Speaker 10: they're just messing with you. And then where we couldn't
- 38:58Speaker 10: hold on any longer was I literally I got my
- 39:01Speaker 10: brother's phone that he was texting it with, and I
- 39:03Speaker 10: was like, mom, let me like, let me see what's
- 39:05Speaker 10: going on on your phone. I'll walk over there and
- 39:07Speaker 10: I take a photo of my mom like this angle
- 39:10Speaker 10: me to you, and then I give the phone back
- 39:14Speaker 10: to my brother.
- 39:14Speaker 1: He sends her that photo. She said, no, no, this
- 39:18Speaker 1: is too far. How did they have a photo of me?
- 39:21Speaker 11: And we start dying, La, God.
- 39:23Speaker 1: Damn it, Mom, Like I just took that photo. You
- 39:24Speaker 1: should know it's us. So now it's a good one.
- 39:27Speaker 10: Now we consistently just hit her with the it's all connected.
- 39:31Speaker 1: Just the just the lifetime of callbacks to ya connected,
- 39:35Speaker 1: And then honestly, yeah, I'll just I'll leave it at that.
- 39:38Speaker 1: You said that one, that one, that last one is
- 39:40Speaker 1: your tier one. Yeah, tier one, And that's that's a
- 39:42Speaker 1: that's a good fucking mine. It's like you were singing
- 39:46Speaker 1: before we did the tear talk, but you got the
- 39:48Speaker 1: classic rubber band around the around the what do they
- 39:51Speaker 1: call it, a little foscet gun.
- 39:52Speaker 5: Yeah, a little hose, a little foscet hose.
- 39:54Speaker 1: That's that's an all time one. My honorable mention is
- 39:58Speaker 1: be like, you know, you know, like when you find
- 40:00Speaker 1: when you get one of your boys and you just
- 40:03Speaker 1: like we were at school and you guys probably done this, smisch,
- 40:06Speaker 1: I'm sure you did it. You just kind of find
- 40:08Speaker 1: the weakest one and you grab him, you like undress
- 40:10Speaker 1: him naked, like throw him in the shower. Yeah, I
- 40:16Speaker 1: just wanted that for a potential clip.
- 40:19Speaker 5: I just run that out there.
- 40:21Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean we did do that, but but it
- 40:26Speaker 1: wasn't top. He wasn't naked, he wasn't naked, he wasn't
- 40:28Speaker 1: nag he said his boxer's kid.
- 40:30Speaker 5: Oh man, I can't wait to send this one with
- 40:31Speaker 5: the kid because we did.
- 40:32Speaker 11: Like his name was kid.
- 40:34Speaker 1: Yeah, his name was kid, Kids Fields. I love basketball
- 40:37Speaker 1: from Jason Kidd.
- 40:38Speaker 7: Oh yeah, did you did you ever do the one
- 40:40Speaker 7: in uh, like the locker room where you get like
- 40:43Speaker 7: a cup of water or the guy just got out
- 40:45Speaker 7: of the shower and you just throw a baby powder
- 40:46Speaker 7: on him and they got a reshower.
- 40:48Speaker 5: No, but that's solid. That's a nice one. We would
- 40:50Speaker 5: do that locker room prank.
- 40:51Speaker 7: That was like a that happened to me as a
- 40:53Speaker 7: freshman in high school. Like the guys would just like
- 40:56Speaker 7: you would get out of the shower and then just
- 40:58Speaker 7: they would throw a baby patter on you and then
- 40:59Speaker 7: you had a reshower.
- 41:00Speaker 6: This is just a major inconvenience and you're covered in
- 41:02Speaker 6: baby potter.
- 41:03Speaker 1: My Tier three, I got a couple of good internet ones.
- 41:05Speaker 1: We can run you guys these videos. But the first
- 41:07Speaker 1: one is when there's this like airport prank tour on
- 41:11Speaker 1: April Fools. This airport would take somebody that came in
- 41:15Speaker 1: the airport and would have them printed on a newspaper.
- 41:20Speaker 1: So if they came in there at security, they're getting
- 41:22Speaker 1: this newspaper printed out and they're doing a green screen
- 41:25Speaker 1: of like an interview, say like breaking news. So and
- 41:28Speaker 1: so they're dangerous and armed, stay away from report them
- 41:31Speaker 1: if you see them. And so the person would come
- 41:34Speaker 1: through security and they would sit and the guy who
- 41:37Speaker 1: would have the newspaper would try to intentionally find a
- 41:39Speaker 1: seat and put up the newspaper in front of him.
- 41:41Speaker 1: They would like kind of glance and look at it.
- 41:43Speaker 1: I'll let Mitch run the clip.
- 42:00Speaker 6: M hm h.
- 42:07Speaker 4: M hm.
- 42:11Speaker 1: Hm hm hm down.
- 42:21Speaker 8: Hell depends do you learn.
- 42:24Speaker 12: To the person finds as child, thank you?
- 42:32Speaker 6: This iss out.
- 42:32Speaker 7: The questioning is that the.
- 42:34Speaker 12: All dust look out.
- 42:41Speaker 13: A better more money a Montannic pigrozzy. So then Amphian
- 42:45Speaker 13: Spantage breaking news, the pull it tide bitter to me
- 42:48Speaker 13: remitted Dringingo for decil House. The deffinities that Guess and
- 42:51Speaker 13: Formatta often looked. I think Soka I made a humanists
- 42:56Speaker 13: had doogal blondess knocking his arm, won't trip and a
- 42:58Speaker 13: hell yacker you freshly get good a spoon, but I
- 43:01Speaker 13: can bark.
- 43:03Speaker 5: But the person initially.
- 43:04Speaker 13: Peasant, pestified, darns puvis it to a I won't there
- 43:08Speaker 13: for that even beains a bitter depot and I can.
- 43:10Speaker 1: Lend it the rumor we maybe want you.
- 43:12Speaker 13: That's gonna help my rects fortune and the stime of
- 43:14Speaker 13: mine turing time.
- 43:24Speaker 11: M m m.
- 43:31Speaker 12: M m m m m nsizing.
- 43:46Speaker 13: Or bringing the desiw The defindity is that guests and
- 43:57Speaker 13: form attack off the float. You presily get get ill,
- 44:00Speaker 13: but with boys ask a fields.
- 44:13Speaker 6: That most physio.
- 44:35Speaker 1: That's my tier three. I felt like that's like a
- 44:37Speaker 1: that was like an all time video of a of
- 44:40Speaker 1: an incredible prank. My tier two is uh the teacher
- 44:45Speaker 1: one I was looking at before we started this. There's
- 44:47Speaker 1: this one where they preface it again. We'll show the video,
- 44:51Speaker 1: but they say that the teacher. There's a classroom policy.
- 44:54Speaker 1: If your phone rings out loud, you have to answer
- 44:56Speaker 1: in its own speaker. Hello, yes, okay, you might you.
- 45:20Speaker 12: Might want to do okay, okay, thank you, thank you,
- 45:37Speaker 12: I'll call back leader, thank.
- 45:41Speaker 1: Hey, I want to publish.
- 45:46Speaker 12: That's Okay, I've been accepting this and I already know
- 45:51Speaker 12: what I'm gonna name the baby. The first name will
- 45:53Speaker 12: be April in the middle name.
- 46:01Speaker 1: And my tier one. The best sprink that I've pulled
- 46:05Speaker 1: off is my April Fool's joke two years ago with
- 46:09Speaker 1: Rue being born. She was due on April twenty or
- 46:13Speaker 1: on March twenty seventh. Her DWO day was March twenty seventh,
- 46:16Speaker 1: so she was like a week late because she was
- 46:17Speaker 1: born on April third. April first rolls around and like
- 46:22Speaker 1: my wife, she's she's having trouble sleeping and everything else.
- 46:24Speaker 1: I'm kind of sitting up early in the morning and
- 46:28Speaker 1: I'm just like, yo, it's April Fool. It's like I
- 46:30Speaker 1: should just do this fucking baby prank, like because everybody
- 46:33Speaker 1: knows what I'm about to have a kid and everything else,
- 46:35Speaker 1: and we're all hyped up about it. And so I
- 46:37Speaker 1: put out a tweet and they're like seven in the morning.
- 46:40Speaker 1: After laboring all night, she's finally here. I can't believe
- 46:43Speaker 1: this perfect little one is ours with the white baby emoji.
- 46:47Speaker 1: Willa Arlene Compton born at six thirty two am four
- 46:50Speaker 1: to one, twenty twenty two. You are my world.
- 46:53Speaker 5: It's a photo of this black baby, and what's crazy?
- 46:57Speaker 1: Stephen Hay Stephen Chay. Of course he like he like responds, congratulations, buddy,
- 47:02Speaker 1: hope every hope, everybody is doing good.
- 47:05Speaker 5: I said, we are all good. She's a daddy's girl
- 47:07Speaker 5: for sure.
- 47:08Speaker 1: And h Taylor even hits me up like, hey, congratulations
- 47:12Speaker 1: blah blah. I was like, bro, I'm fucking around, like
- 47:16Speaker 1: what makes you think I will make that post and
- 47:17Speaker 1: put it on social media and not like already have
- 47:19Speaker 1: let you know that. Ru has came in and he
- 47:23Speaker 1: was like, dog, I'm so like thankful. I'm like thinking
- 47:26Speaker 1: to myself, like dude, will really just post a photo
- 47:28Speaker 1: and like he hasn't told me yet, like you know,
- 47:30Speaker 1: on some on some friends stuff and uh, but that's
- 47:33Speaker 1: my tier one, the the black baby prank, because it
- 47:37Speaker 1: was going so nuts, like it gets into the all
- 47:40Speaker 1: your racist crowd not crowd, but it's just like the
- 47:43Speaker 1: audience that doesn't know you or know your humor or
- 47:44Speaker 1: anything else, and I, you know, want to make everything
- 47:46Speaker 1: about race. But even though the joke was about like damn,
- 47:50Speaker 1: you better get a double look at that. That's not
- 47:52Speaker 1: his kid, uh, but that is my that is my
- 47:56Speaker 1: uh uh a tier list for for April Fool's jokes.
- 47:59Speaker 1: Speaking of that, she does she turns two on April third,
- 48:02Speaker 1: and I was I was thinking, like, yo, for any
- 48:05Speaker 1: any expecting dads out there with daughters, I've yo, great
- 48:10Speaker 1: call Mitch, producer, Mitch, I should read an ad before
- 48:13Speaker 1: we go into this not twisted questions.

- 48:39Speaker 1: b u s s I n ZipRecruiter the smartest way
- 48:44Speaker 1: to hire. But on my way over here, I was thinking, like, cause,
- 48:49Speaker 1: your boy, as you're listening to this episode, we're doing
- 48:53Speaker 1: a little family vacation in the Bahamas for a few
- 48:55Speaker 1: days before we go to Lincoln, before we go to Nebraska.
- 48:58Speaker 1: I know, right flex, And I was thinking, I have
- 49:02Speaker 1: a list of dad tips, of dad tips for all
- 49:06Speaker 1: the expecting fathers out there or young dads who might
- 49:08Speaker 1: be in the mix. Here are some tips that I've
- 49:11Speaker 1: written down since Rue has probably turned like one years old,
- 49:17Speaker 1: when she can start understanding a little bit more so,
- 49:19Speaker 1: probably around that twelve to fourteen month range. All right,
- 49:22Speaker 1: here we go, the power of the secret. This is
- 49:26Speaker 1: a great tip for fathers out. They're really parents in general.
- 49:29Speaker 1: I'm trying to help my wife out. I'm perfecting this craft.
- 49:32Speaker 1: But the many you could teach them about telling them
- 49:35Speaker 1: a secret, like whispering to them, and they're kind of
- 49:37Speaker 1: like caught off guard, like why his dad whispering to me?
- 49:39Speaker 1: And I beg, Rue, do you want that to tell
- 49:41Speaker 1: you a secret?
- 49:42Speaker 5: And she was like come over, she beck yeah, I
- 49:44Speaker 5: beg no, no, no, you.
- 49:44Speaker 1: Got a whisper. You gotta whisper? And she beg okay.
- 49:47Speaker 1: And then whatever you want them, whatever you want to
- 49:50Speaker 1: get them to do. They're all ears. So she might
- 49:53Speaker 1: be starting to cry or panic a little bit. This
- 49:57Speaker 1: is real life experience, boys, and she spazing out. You
- 50:00Speaker 1: want her to take off her clothes to get her
- 50:02Speaker 1: to get her in her jamies, but she's pissed and
- 50:04Speaker 1: run around.
- 50:05Speaker 5: She wants to jump, she's got to ZOOMI, she wants
- 50:07Speaker 5: to have fun. You immediately just go to hey, hey, hey,
- 50:10Speaker 5: do you want me to tell you a secret?
- 50:12Speaker 1: Come on mine, Hey do you want me to tell
- 50:14Speaker 1: you secret? You'll be like, all right, come here, come here,
- 50:15Speaker 1: you gotta whisper, you gotta stay quiet, and then they
- 50:17Speaker 1: lean in and you're like, You're like, hey, go over
- 50:20Speaker 1: to mommy and take off your clothes for so we
- 50:22Speaker 1: can get you in your Jammis it feels weird that
- 50:24Speaker 1: I'm whispering right now on the podcast. But immediately they'll
- 50:28Speaker 1: go from freaking out to they are all in on
- 50:31Speaker 1: executing the secret.
- 50:32Speaker 5: So that is the power of the secret. No matter
- 50:34Speaker 5: what you have to you have to whisper.
- 50:37Speaker 1: You have to get them down to your level, and
- 50:39Speaker 1: I promise you they will go from one hundred to
- 50:41Speaker 1: fully focused and ready to execute whatever whatever that secret
- 50:45Speaker 1: may be. That is one in the toolbox for you guys.
- 50:48Speaker 1: This is for dads. This is for dads as well.
- 50:52Speaker 1: If you're home, do bedtime routine together and ultimately take turns.
- 50:55Speaker 1: Who does story time? Like my wife and I we
- 50:57Speaker 1: do a good job of doing We do our morning
- 50:59Speaker 1: routine together, and we do the bedtime routine together. So
- 51:01Speaker 1: if I'm somebody who's reading the stories at nighttime, this
- 51:03Speaker 1: is gonna. This is not only good for being a dad,
- 51:05Speaker 1: this is also good for being a partner, being a husband.
- 51:09Speaker 1: Is you do the routines together and then you alternate
- 51:11Speaker 1: who does story times, so that way me around my
- 51:14Speaker 1: daughter she's used to seeing. She's used to see your
- 51:17Speaker 1: old man. Because you never want to get behind the change.
- 51:19Speaker 1: You never want to get behind the sticks to where
- 51:20Speaker 1: it's like they're all mom everything, they're all you know,
- 51:23Speaker 1: Mom feels like she's just always in the trenches because
- 51:25Speaker 1: she's the only one who can handle any type of chaos,
- 51:28Speaker 1: like the baby always wants mom and never dad.
- 51:30Speaker 5: This helps you be around at all.
- 51:32Speaker 1: The moments of the day, whether it's the morning routine,
- 51:34Speaker 1: the nighttime routine, all of in between. Also going off
- 51:37Speaker 1: that eating dinner as a family, Charles, she's done an
- 51:40Speaker 1: incredible job of holding as accountable to do dinner as
- 51:43Speaker 1: a family.
- 51:44Speaker 5: I myself like to would like to have been lazy at.
- 51:47Speaker 1: Times, and then I'll just hey, rue if I might
- 51:50Speaker 1: want her to in my head because I'm lazier, will
- 51:53Speaker 1: allow her to watch, say Miss Rachel, and then I'll
- 51:57Speaker 1: go put or I would want to go put the
- 51:59Speaker 1: food in front of her and allow her to eat
- 52:01Speaker 1: and watch TV. That is a massive note that Charles
- 52:04Speaker 1: never wanted to do. She always wants her to Hey,
- 52:07Speaker 1: no screen like limit screen time. She gets like around
- 52:09Speaker 1: an hour a day of like watching Miss Rachel or
- 52:12Speaker 1: watching something or whether we do movie night on Fridays.
- 52:15Speaker 1: And Charles's done a great job of making us our
- 52:17Speaker 1: setting the expectation that we that we do dinner time
- 52:20Speaker 1: like as a family. So we make her plate whatever
- 52:23Speaker 1: the wife cooks, maybe your boys on one of them
- 52:24Speaker 1: factor meals, whatever it is. We're always sitting at the
- 52:27Speaker 1: dinner table eating together and on the dining room table.
- 52:30Speaker 1: I would highly recommend Ryan Holiday's Daily Dad each time
- 52:34Speaker 1: while we're eating rue Now she even tells, she even
- 52:37Speaker 1: tells Dad, she'd be a dead dad. Read dead Dad,
- 52:39Speaker 1: read and I'll read whatever the daily the daily word
- 52:42Speaker 1: is from the Daily Dad. I highly recommend the Daily
- 52:44Speaker 1: Dad from Ryan Holiday. Pizza Friday and movie night. You
- 52:48Speaker 1: have your yearly, your annual traditions for holidays and everything else.
- 52:53Speaker 1: Your boy, your your boy. We love to do pizza
- 52:55Speaker 1: Friday and movie Night. I've obviously been a big proponent
- 52:58Speaker 1: of Pizza Friday. Last week my shot I don't no
- 53:00Speaker 1: free shot out was home Team Pizza that got your
- 53:02Speaker 1: boy hooked up with a free pizza and a free
- 53:04Speaker 1: six piece of those buck guys and garlic bites. Pizza
- 53:08Speaker 1: Friday and movie Night. Rue every Friday now would be hey,
- 53:12Speaker 1: you Rue, you know what day it is, and she's
- 53:13Speaker 1: like Pizza Friday and doing like a weekly, weekly little
- 53:17Speaker 1: family tradition that gets them fired up. Give them chores
- 53:20Speaker 1: you get there, you make them a part of your tribe.
- 53:22Speaker 1: This was something I wrote down that I feel like
- 53:23Speaker 1: it is very good. So after dinner, it'd be like,
- 53:25Speaker 1: let Waffle out of the pantry because we'll make Waffle
- 53:27Speaker 1: eat in the pantry so that way she's not you know,
- 53:30Speaker 1: she loves the eat anything that's dropped on the floor,
- 53:32Speaker 1: and sometimes she's gotten some bad shit in her mouth
- 53:34Speaker 1: to where she's like drooling or vomiting, so we have
- 53:37Speaker 1: to make her eat in the pantry. But one of
- 53:38Speaker 1: Ru's chores will be back let waffle out of the
- 53:40Speaker 1: pantry after dinner time, or any mess room makes with
- 53:44Speaker 1: her toys.
- 53:45Speaker 5: She knows she has to clean it up.
- 53:46Speaker 1: Or if you have trash as a parent, Dad's great
- 53:49Speaker 1: tip you have trash, he's back once you teach them
- 53:51Speaker 1: how to go throw the trash away. Your trash is
- 53:54Speaker 1: now there. Trash a great joy for them to do. Umm,
- 53:58Speaker 1: interrupt them until you love them. That's a sweet lie gesture.
- 54:00Speaker 1: That's just a nice little breakup. I learned that one
- 54:02Speaker 1: on Instagram. Exercise before everyone wakes up so you can
- 54:06Speaker 1: be a part of the morning routine. I know myself,
- 54:09Speaker 1: I've honestly, I've had a bad week of working out,
- 54:11Speaker 1: meaning it's been non existing. I haven't worked out this week.
- 54:13Speaker 1: But anytime, I feel myself in a much better mood,
- 54:16Speaker 1: a much better way when I do working out first
- 54:18Speaker 1: thing in the morning.
- 54:18Speaker 5: So I'll try and work out before rue wakes up.
- 54:21Speaker 5: So that way you're able to be a part of
- 54:22Speaker 5: the morning routine.
- 54:23Speaker 1: So if you're able to be part of that morning routines,
- 54:26Speaker 1: fit and you gotta you know if you're if you're
- 54:30Speaker 1: if you don't have.
- 54:30Speaker 5: To leave for work too early.
- 54:32Speaker 1: You I base it around all that stuff, workout morning routine,
- 54:36Speaker 1: then I'll come hang with the boys at the bus. Uh,
- 54:39Speaker 1: what else do I have another little queasy one. I
- 54:43Speaker 1: feel actually weird saying this in front of you. Guys
- 54:45Speaker 1: love on their mother in front of them, I feel
- 54:46Speaker 1: like that's really good, especially for the girl that's out there.
- 54:48Speaker 1: You get to like set a standard and kind of
- 54:50Speaker 1: should be the role model in front of them for
- 54:53Speaker 1: hopefully what they look for one day in a spouse
- 54:55Speaker 1: and not some deadbeat, dysfunctional ass clowns out there. That's it,
- 55:02Speaker 1: That's what I got. Another one that I'm just now
- 55:05Speaker 1: thinking of that I was using today is going off
- 55:07Speaker 1: the power of secret, the power of being like, hey,
- 55:09Speaker 1: can I ask you a question? Because sometimes like say
- 55:12Speaker 1: I'll go home. Is right now, it's Sunday afternoon, I'll
- 55:15Speaker 1: go home. If mom puts her down for her nap,
- 55:18Speaker 1: she's like she almost expects mom to be there when
- 55:20Speaker 1: she wakes up, or if she's not wanting dad for
- 55:22Speaker 1: some reason to wake up, I'll like.
- 55:24Speaker 5: Come inn and sher bag.
- 55:25Speaker 1: For whatever reason, they'll just be weirdly fussy that you
- 55:28Speaker 1: might be there, or they're just upset when they wake up.
- 55:30Speaker 1: You quickly just immediately hey hey, rue rue, can I
- 55:33Speaker 1: ask you two questions? And you immediately get their attention
- 55:36Speaker 1: boom first one, the one that I always default to you,
- 55:38Speaker 1: how is your nap? Was it good? Did you have
- 55:40Speaker 1: a dream or who did you dream about? And they
- 55:42Speaker 1: tell you a story, but Dad gets them, that gets
- 55:44Speaker 1: their levels. If they're fucking weirdly, having an episode or
- 55:48Speaker 1: just spazzing out for no reason, you simply interject and say, hey,
- 55:52Speaker 1: can I ask you two questions? And for whatever reason,
- 55:55Speaker 1: that makes them feel like, oh Dad needs me for
- 55:57Speaker 1: some oh mom needs me for something. So those are
- 56:00Speaker 1: my dad tips on my first two years of parenting.
- 56:03Speaker 1: Hopefully there's dads out there. If you're listening and you're like, oh,
- 56:06Speaker 1: he's on some game or you have another dad tip,
- 56:09Speaker 1: drop him in the comments. We'd love to know. We'd
- 56:11Speaker 1: love to build this dad club together. But those are
- 56:14Speaker 1: my dad tips. Boys. Any any that you guys might
- 56:17Speaker 1: know about from your old man or something that you
- 56:20Speaker 1: might have had as a kid that you're like, hey,
- 56:21Speaker 1: this would be a good any any type of advice.
- 56:25Speaker 1: Student of the game, I'm always down GP. I feel
- 56:29Speaker 1: like you usually have something. You usually just have something
- 56:31Speaker 1: for me. Just sometimes just out of the blue and
- 56:33Speaker 1: I'm like, oh that boy JP hit me that one
- 56:36Speaker 1: video I said Oh my gosh, that's a great one.
- 56:39Speaker 1: We're It was basically like you're here to be memories
- 56:42Speaker 1: for your kids. Yeah, that was a banger, which is incredible.
- 56:46Speaker 1: Run the video, Mitch. Yeah.
- 56:48Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 56:49Speaker 10: I mean I think I'm better with like ages five
- 56:54Speaker 10: through kind of like probably eighteen, but I think with
- 56:59Speaker 10: the young kids because my fiance she has some young nieces,
- 57:05Speaker 10: I don't know. I have a pretty easy time getting
- 57:07Speaker 10: into like the mind of a little kid. So I
- 57:08Speaker 10: can play the games with them, and it's like if
- 57:11Speaker 10: you're playing like Freeze Tag or you know, like if
- 57:14Speaker 10: they touch you, then like you can't move your arm,
- 57:18Speaker 10: but then the only way you can move your arm
- 57:20Speaker 10: again is if they touch it. So then it comes
- 57:22Speaker 10: back to life and there they start freaking out. But
- 57:26Speaker 10: I think something probably good for because I feel like
- 57:29Speaker 10: dads maybe sometimes have a harder time.
- 57:31Speaker 11: Connecting with their kids.
- 57:33Speaker 10: It's just like getting you just get on the floor
- 57:35Speaker 10: with your kid and like that's where you play because
- 57:38Speaker 10: that's where they're at. And anytime you get the level, yeah,
- 57:40Speaker 10: you go to their level, and it just I feel
- 57:42Speaker 10: like it makes everything easier.
- 57:44Speaker 11: I don't have kids, but yeah, no, you're.
- 57:46Speaker 1: Gonna cry you'll crush it. You'll crush it too, Dave.
- 57:48Speaker 1: I barely know you, but I feel like you'll crush it.
- 57:51Speaker 1: But no, for sure, we got all your boy, we'll
- 57:54Speaker 1: get your act on it. Between that two and five,
- 57:58Speaker 1: JP came over yesterday, had to shoot this, uh, we
- 58:01Speaker 1: had to shoot this stuff for shell gas station shadow
- 58:03Speaker 1: no free Shadow.
- 58:05Speaker 5: And this morning when RU woke up and we're like,
- 58:07Speaker 5: you know what you dream about?
- 58:08Speaker 1: And she honest like she'll just rattle off everything from
- 58:11Speaker 1: her memory like her grandparents, Like she you should just start.
- 58:15Speaker 1: She names everything and she beg, jetpe JETP, you're you're jappie.
- 58:18Speaker 1: Let's go and then she'll be back. When we went
- 58:20Speaker 1: downstairs and I pushed in the car and we played
- 58:23Speaker 1: like Chase or something like that, and she's like, jetpe
- 58:25Speaker 1: jet P. I was like, yeah, you played with JETP
- 58:28Speaker 1: yesterday and I was like, oh, he's not he's not
- 58:30Speaker 1: coming today. He's not coming today.
- 58:32Speaker 5: You'll crush that. We'll get you acting made between two
- 58:34Speaker 5: and five. But you're you're spot on.
- 58:36Speaker 1: Honestly, I feel like when you say like, uh, dads,
- 58:39Speaker 1: they can't connect with their kids as well. I just
- 58:42Speaker 1: to me, in my opinion, I feel like it's like
- 58:44Speaker 1: just one of those ingrained societal things that's kind of like,
- 58:48Speaker 1: you know, dads aren't necessarily in the mix for all
- 58:53Speaker 1: the little things that mom does all the time. Like
- 58:56Speaker 1: I know, like talking to my dad, it seemed like
- 58:58Speaker 1: he didn't really change many diapers. Yeah, so I knew
- 59:01Speaker 1: my mom was always like she did everything right or
- 59:05Speaker 1: if something's going on, by oh tell your mom or
- 59:07Speaker 1: something like that, versus like my wife, she does a
- 59:09Speaker 1: great job holding the line on like, hey, I'm in
- 59:11Speaker 1: this thing for a partnership, not a I do all
- 59:13Speaker 1: the motherly roles. In her opinion, it's like bullshit that
- 59:19Speaker 1: like mothers are better nurtures than men. I think like
- 59:21Speaker 1: mothers are better nurtures. But I also think the truth
- 59:24Speaker 1: to that is like, yeah, I don't think there's always
- 59:26Speaker 1: that effort put in from the male side of like
- 59:30Speaker 1: being on their level and being intentional with doing stuff
- 59:33Speaker 1: and making sure you're around in all of those moments
- 59:36Speaker 1: so that way, you know, you're just part of their life.
- 59:39Speaker 10: Yeah, it's like kids are I forget what the exact
- 59:41Speaker 10: quote is, but it's like kids are the only people
- 59:44Speaker 10: on this earth that like strive to have a relationship
- 59:49Speaker 10: with you.
- 59:49Speaker 1: Yeah, Like, of the.
- 59:50Speaker 10: Seven billion people in the world, only your kids are
- 59:54Speaker 10: ones that are like all in on wanting to be
- 59:56Speaker 10: a part of your life.
- 59:57Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I feel like it might. Like Jordan Peterson,
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: I have a clip like if you're their number one relationship,
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: Like all they want is a relationship with it, which
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: is true, I say. And going off the video that
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: you said, like we're here for their memories, there's another
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: video I saw that's like they say that kids can't
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: remember anything before four.
- 1:00:16Speaker 5: So they were talking about the gift. Of the gift
- 1:00:19Speaker 5: is them.
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: Being there for you and your own memories up until
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: then and embracing it. But all the dad ship, bro,
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: it is the greatest thing in the fucking world. It
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: does get harder times, it very much does, but it's
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: been so fun. I can't you know, like on what
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: trying to get more.
- 1:00:37Speaker 6: How do you feel about like technology and stuff when
- 1:00:38Speaker 6: it comes to kids, Huh.
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:00:42Speaker 5: You're saying like allowing them to do screen time or
- 1:00:44Speaker 5: allowing them to use it.
- 1:00:45Speaker 7: Well, like one thing that I see a lot, and
- 1:00:47Speaker 7: it kind of pisses me off because I remember like
- 1:00:51Speaker 7: growing up and stuff like the parents will like they'll
- 1:00:54Speaker 7: be out, for example, when you go out to dinner
- 1:00:57Speaker 7: and they just give their kid like an iPad or
- 1:01:00Speaker 7: their phone or like a little play pad or whatever,
- 1:01:04Speaker 7: and they're just locked in on this and like you're
- 1:01:07Speaker 7: just essentially like on a date.
- 1:01:08Speaker 6: With your wife or whatever.
- 1:01:10Speaker 7: Like when I would grow up, like when we would
- 1:01:12Speaker 7: go out to dinner, we would play Hangman, or like
- 1:01:16Speaker 7: we would get the coloring sheets and my dad and
- 1:01:17Speaker 7: I or my parents and I would like we would
- 1:01:19Speaker 7: color when we would play play paper football and like
- 1:01:22Speaker 7: flicking stuff. Like I hate, say, I hate when I'm
- 1:01:25Speaker 7: when you go out to dinner, you just seed little
- 1:01:26Speaker 7: kids locked in on a device. Yeah, and like not
- 1:01:29Speaker 7: having that like conversation and stuff like with your like
- 1:01:32Speaker 7: hanging out with your parents and stuff.
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: No, no, I agree, I mean rue, she can't play
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: Hangman right now? Well no, I'm playing flick football. But yeah,
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: getting the coloring sheet we like obviously, like when you're
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: whether you're around friends and sometimes you just learn things
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: like you don't want to do like as your partnership,
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: like some parents they do the We've we've known friends
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: where they have their iPad, they have headphones, they're locked
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: in and they're just obsessed with the screen or like
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: playing the game where they get fussy, so they just
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: give them an iPad. Uh, we don't have her and
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: any like dude. For Rue, it's literally like Blue or
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: Miss Rachel. It'll be like a little before dinner and
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: then maybe after dinner, depending on like how she is,
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: because usually we try to get her to go outside,
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: so that's when we can like throw the ball with Waffle.
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: But I mean, uh, like Charlet does a great job,
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: like when we're out and doing stuff like Charlo has
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: been somebody from after doing the like maternity leave stuff
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: like not wanting to being like intentional with like hey
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: if I still want to go do these things out
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: and about, Like I'm just gonna bring Rue versus basing
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: everything around roof schedule. It's like we have the structure
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: around Rue, but bringing her all that stuff like when
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: we brought her to Italy and everything else, like getting
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: her in activities like for socializing, like she does gymnastics. Uh,
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: she does ballet, obviously I dropped that sickhilight tape on ballet.
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: What else does she do? She does swimming swimming lessons,
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: so she'll be busy like three out of the you know,
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: three out of the five days of the week, and
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: then on weekends it's like in the morning times we'll
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: always go out to eat or we always do something,
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: whether it's make breakfast and make her a part of it.
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: But as far as like screen time and everything else,
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: it's kind of like it's one of those things that
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: I feel like you figure out in your partnership with
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: like how you want to raise them, because I do
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: feel like Tarl and I are trying to be very
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: intentional about the things that we do with rue to
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: where when we say we take her out the like, yeah,
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: she's not really the only time we would have her
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: look at a video on the phone, and she likes
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: to watch herself, whether it's when she did trick or
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: treating that video was hot for a while, or I
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: put the highlights of her ballet so that way we
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: can do her hair, mom can do her hair braided
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: or whatever. You just play that in front of her.
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: But yeah, as far as iPads, phones and stuff like that,
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: we don't.
- 1:03:35Speaker 11: We don't.
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: We don't, like, I guess allow that. Or if we're
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: on the plane and she's sitting in the middle seat,
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: we have like a backpack with like whether it's stickers,
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: putting on, the putting on the books and some interactive
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: playthings that she does. So it's not like it's not
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: like I have like a strong stance, like I think
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: that's all. That's ridiculous. What do you got? JP? Is
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: it my shorts?
- 1:03:53Speaker 11: No, I'm just taking a photo.
- 1:03:57Speaker 5: Usually you got like a real tweets from this spot.
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: Anytime that one goes up in JP's behind the phone,
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: I'm like, oh fuck, what's about that?
- 1:04:03Speaker 5: But it's not like I sit there. You know, different
- 1:04:06Speaker 5: strokes for different folks.
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: Like I know every parent's trying doing their best, but
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: I know like we do try and think about screen time.
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: Like we're around Baktyari and they have their little win
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: They're like, oh, we don't do any screen time, and
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: so it makes me think in my head like, oh,
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: should we go from whatever screen time we do to zero?
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: And you know, I wonder why this? And you get
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: caught up in comparing, which I think sucks. But no,
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: the stuff that we do, yeah, yeah, it's not like
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: again they answer your question. Yeah, we're not big proponents
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: in all the screen time stuff. And if she does
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: do it we hope it's like like BLUEI has their
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: like ten minute episodes. Miss Rachel's like very interactive like
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: learning education. It'll be way tougher when they're older.
- 1:04:49Speaker 11: I think that's the trickiest screen time.
- 1:04:51Speaker 5: Yeah, which it's kind of like I don't necessarily know.
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: I think it's just as you go, you try and
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: learn and make the best decisions you can, because we
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: grew up differently than everybody else, right, But at the
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: same time, the world's ever evolving, and so is technology.
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: So technology is going to be a part of their life,
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: and so I feel like it's just like trying to
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: be intentional about what styles of technologies they're using, how
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: they're using it, making sure you're, you know, they're not
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: getting in things that they shouldn't be, Like you see
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: this stuff quiet on set coming out and about how
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: you know, and just the predators out there and everything
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: else going on, like being in their lives to where
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: you're keeping them or trying to guard them or keep
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: them from making bad decisions. But ultimately I think it's
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: like you're trying to instill in like your core values
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: and doing all this routine stuff like really being intentionally
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: in their lives and if they tell you something, being
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: like oh, I'm really glad you're talking to me about this,
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: or encouraging conversations so that way they feel like they
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: can you'll pick your brain. And I feel like they
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: have to height stuff or I have to do different things.
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: It'll be interesting and that makes me nervous. But I
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: don't know.
- 1:05:53Speaker 10: Florida is trying to sign a bill and maybe De
- 1:05:56Speaker 10: Santis states sign it, but and it would be so
- 1:05:58Speaker 10: hard to But I like the sentiment of it. But
- 1:06:03Speaker 10: no social media for kids age like under fifteen, it's
- 1:06:08Speaker 10: like illegal, which I think would be super beneficial.
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, there are a lot of like pros of that,
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: and I would be interested to hearing like the arguments
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: against it, because I'm sure there's like fair points. But
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: with in mind, no, we know how we know how
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: we were when we were young, and we just if
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: we had all this access and everything else, we would
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: love it and be obsessed with it.
- 1:06:28Speaker 5: But there'd be a lot of things that just wouldn't
- 1:06:30Speaker 5: be good for us, you know.
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: I feel like I'm thinking about how I was back
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: in the day, like just who knows what I would
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: have been up to on social media? That could have
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: played against the places we are now. I have no clue,
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: but yeah, that's it's all fascinating with that technology stuff. Man.
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: But let's get into Marshall Faulk. How long we've been going, Mitch,
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: there we go our fifteen. This would be uh, this
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: was longer than anticipate. I thought I was gonna have
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: to just come up with different things. But we you know,
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: we still need twisted, still need twists. Oh yeah, what's
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: their twisted question? Our twisted question? Brought to us by
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: Twisted Tea. Twisted Tea is a refreshing, hard eyed team
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: made with a real brewe tee and five percent alcohol.
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: Full of flavor and very refreshing. Twisted Tea feels fun
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: and celebrates extreme fandom on game day. It is the
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: perfect alcohol beverage for game day, whether tail getting in
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: the parking lot, watching at a bar, or watching with
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: friends at home. Twisted Tea is there to turn up
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: your game day. Keep it twisted with the boys and
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: grab a refreshing twisted tea today. This question comes to
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: us from Mitch Carsley, which comes to us from Dylan
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: Guy forty four on Twitter.
- 1:07:37Speaker 5: Dylan Guy forty four on Twitter who.
- 1:07:39Speaker 7: Would you rather try and survive two hours in a
- 1:07:43Speaker 7: gladiator style ring with twenty Stephen Hawkings but their chairs
- 1:07:47Speaker 7: go thirty miles an hour or ten Helen Kellers with pistols.
- 1:07:54Speaker 5: And just just educating hell and Kellers blind in death.
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: Yeah, yep with pistol yep.
- 1:08:02Speaker 11: Wait, what does Stephen Hawking have?
- 1:08:04Speaker 5: I think Stephen Hawking.
- 1:08:06Speaker 6: I think it's twenty Stephen Hawkings with their chairs go
- 1:08:08Speaker 6: thirty miles an hour. So they came off hit you.
- 1:08:11Speaker 11: Oh right, I'm dumbying him.
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: Yeah, because to me, it's like you got to take
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: one blow and right when he's about to approach you,
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: because all thirty of those chairs are coming at you.
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: You just you jump the fuckers and shoal you putty
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: of them. Yeah, but you jump on the first one
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: and put his shoulder right into his chin. All those
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: other chairs are gonna come in and they're I mean
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: fucking these Wheelchairsy're gonna have to figure out how to
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: back up and turn around. I'll be sleeping them while
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: they're trying to figure out how to maneuver.
- 1:08:36Speaker 11: Hey, you knock one wheelchair over there, they're out.
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: Yeah. Literally just oh they all ran in each other
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: start picking them up and flipping them on their back.
- 1:08:43Speaker 6: I mean, thirty miles an hour is pretty fast.
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: But once again, they're all going to try and collide.
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: It's not like they're gonna unless they're trying to scheme.
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: I'm still gonna sleep all the Stephen Hawkings, Bro, it's
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: only eight miles per hour faster than Tyreek Hill.
- 1:08:58Speaker 6: I think Helen Kellers.
- 1:09:01Speaker 5: Yeah, but you they got pistols like they can't hear.
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: Maybe they're shooting themselves, they spraying, but maybe they'd be
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: shooting each other though, Jpeah.
- 1:09:09Speaker 11: Yeah, y'all never been in a shootout.
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: Yeah, Stephen Hawking like, yeah, we'll be dropping well yeah, yeah,
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: I think I drop twenty Stephen Hawkings before they can
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: get typed out whatever their strategy is when they communicate
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: with each other, because.
- 1:09:23Speaker 11: Even if once they hit you, I can take the hit.
- 1:09:27Speaker 5: Yeah, you're talking about what twenty mile an hour?
- 1:09:30Speaker 6: Thirty thirty Yeah, thirty miles an hour is pretty fast.
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: Yeah, but again you don't you don't believe in yourself
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: against twenty Stephen Hawkings. I'm just saying I like I
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: you like your chances with twenty pistols being fired.
- 1:09:44Speaker 6: Ten there's tens twenty Stephen Hawkings are ten Helen Kellers.
- 1:09:48Speaker 5: Yeah, but all it takes is one to hit you, bro,
- 1:09:50Speaker 5: and you're down.
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: You could get hit by a chair and you could.
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: You're gonna be down, not gonna be dead.
- 1:09:55Speaker 5: Yeah, You're not gonna be dead. It's like once they hit.
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: You, then what like, what are they You're just gonna
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: keep running you over.
- 1:10:00Speaker 11: It's not like that.
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: It's not like they're at thirty miles an hours immediately.
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: They're gonna have to build and have some acceleration. They're
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: gonna have to maneuver out of their little short space.
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: And I do well in tight spaces. I thought I
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: played ten years.
- 1:10:11Speaker 6: I fell off a car going twenty miles an hour.
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: And same fell or jumped.
- 1:10:18Speaker 7: I was my girlfriend at the time was forgot like
- 1:10:21Speaker 7: started driving and I like just playing a joke, and
- 1:10:25Speaker 7: I like hopped on the back of her car. She
- 1:10:27Speaker 7: forgot I was there for a second and then like
- 1:10:29Speaker 7: sped up and I started sliding and hit the pavement.
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: Course.
- 1:10:35Speaker 5: Yeah, but that you hanging on to a car.
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: Imagine you're he They're taking off thirty and you fucking
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: got Stephen Hawking, You're behind him choking his bitch ass out.
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: I would hit the little swear and then I'm on
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: the wheelchair.
- 1:10:49Speaker 5: Yes, bro, you sleep one of them, pull them off
- 1:10:51Speaker 5: the wheelchair.
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: You got the chair. Yeah, yeah, I'm doing the Give
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: me Stephen Hawking.
- 1:10:58Speaker 5: Give me Stephen Hawking in a mass octagon.
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: In the afterlife, Mitch all right on too. If you
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: if you've held on this long, thank you guys for
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: supporting the boys and watching along. Make sure you're subscribe.
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: Commenting during the episode, here's Marshall Falk. He's an incredible interview.
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: As a young Missouri boy growing up, obviously I was
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: I was pulled in a lot of different directions.
- 1:11:20Speaker 5: Whoever was winning was usually was usually who I was
- 1:11:22Speaker 5: rooting for.
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: And when the Rams became the greatest show on turf,
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: everyone was a Marshall Falk fan.
- 1:11:28Speaker 5: So this was an incredible interview.
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: It was really fun to get to sit down with
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: somebody that you grew up kind of watching, who was
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: a superstar in your area at one point in time. So,
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: without further ado, Marshall Falk, big hugs, tiny kisses, Marshall Falk.
- 1:11:41Speaker 2: Let's give a ratto applause for Marshall Fulk.
- 1:11:44Speaker 3: Thank you, thank you. I appreciate that.
- 1:11:47Speaker 2: Absolutely legend.
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: Did you just flew in just now? Yeah?
- 1:11:50Speaker 3: I got in yeah, earlier today, earlier today.
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: I grew up in our south. I don't know if
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: you're familiar with Festus or Farmington, Missouri. Yeah, yeah, but
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: you're a legend, bro, thank you. You are a legend.
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: And it was it's a it's a pleasure to have
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: you on our podcast. Right on man uh you right
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: before the show we were talking and you saw the
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: Nebraska shot out the Big Red. But you mentioned that
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: Osbourne coach. Osbourne was the first coach. He said, you
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: couldn't play.
- 1:12:16Speaker 3: Running coach, first coach and he was he was honest,
- 1:12:19Speaker 3: Like first day I was there, you sit in with
- 1:12:22Speaker 3: him and and this before you go to your position meeting,
- 1:12:24Speaker 3: and he asked, he you know what, so so what
- 1:12:28Speaker 3: do you what position you think you can play here
- 1:12:30Speaker 3: on Nebraska and you know like this this the early nineties,
- 1:12:33Speaker 3: Nebraka Roland.
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:12:36Speaker 3: And the only reason I took I took a visit
- 1:12:39Speaker 3: because Mickey Joseph, who's from New Orleans as well, had
- 1:12:43Speaker 3: just became the quarterback there and I was and I thought,
- 1:12:46Speaker 3: because I'm I'm right in between Mickey and Vance advanced.
- 1:12:50Speaker 3: Joseph is Mickey Joseph's younger brother, so I'm in between
- 1:12:53Speaker 3: them two. And I was like, man, if I go,
- 1:12:55Speaker 3: I get a year to play with Mickey and then
- 1:12:57Speaker 3: I'll play with Vans because I thought Advance was coming there.
- 1:13:00Speaker 3: Fans ended up ended up going to Colorado.
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: So did did Nebraska offer? They did? They did?
- 1:13:05Speaker 3: But I had to play corner? Really yeah, I mean
- 1:13:08Speaker 3: you were like, I mean you were an athlete, listen, man,
- 1:13:10Speaker 3: Coach Osborne is a legend.
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:13:14Speaker 3: They when he was at Nebraska, they turned out so
- 1:13:16Speaker 3: many athletes, so many first rounders, So, I mean he
- 1:13:20Speaker 3: knew what he was talking about. I was a pretty
- 1:13:21Speaker 3: good corner, but I had to love I had to
- 1:13:23Speaker 3: love for playing running back. So it's a little different.
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: Was all your offers kind of split? Like your teams
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: wanting you to play corner? Teams wanted to play running back.
- 1:13:31Speaker 3: Most of them wanted me to play corner.
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: So that's when is that a probably the biggest reason?
- 1:13:36Speaker 3: Well, no, no, no, because on offense they were lazy
- 1:13:40Speaker 3: and I'm gonna tell you what happened after all. Right,
- 1:13:42Speaker 3: So so I played quarterback. Receiver, running back, but on offense,
- 1:13:45Speaker 3: I was just a corner cover corner, so they couldn't
- 1:13:49Speaker 3: tell what I played on offense. And right after that
- 1:13:51Speaker 3: happened about I'm gonna say right around maybe ninety four
- 1:13:56Speaker 3: ninety five, they created the position called athlete. So when
- 1:14:01Speaker 3: you recruit a guy, you recruit him, you just get
- 1:14:03Speaker 3: an athlete. Yeah, because they realized, damn, if we'd have
- 1:14:06Speaker 3: got him in here, found out he could play multiple positions.
- 1:14:11Speaker 3: But back then they had the recruited position. You had
- 1:14:13Speaker 3: to play a position. You couldn't just be an athlete.
- 1:14:16Speaker 2: If Tom Osborne would have came in and been like, listen,
- 1:14:18Speaker 2: you're a hell of an athlete. We see you can
- 1:14:20Speaker 2: play all over the place, utilize you in ways no
- 1:14:23Speaker 2: one's ever seen before you went to Nebraska, it.
- 1:14:26Speaker 3: Would have been easy. I mean, it would have been
- 1:14:28Speaker 3: an easy decision. I mean, Nebraska was like cream of
- 1:14:31Speaker 3: the crop early ninety reference to I mean eighty eight,
- 1:14:35Speaker 3: eighty nine, ninety they were dominating fools many.
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: That's gotta feel good to hear, dude, It does feel
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: good to hear. It sucks that we didn't, you know
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: what I mean, Like Osbourne, it happened cornerback. Yeah, it happens.
- 1:14:47Speaker 2: I was to the University of Missions. I have to
- 1:14:49Speaker 2: ask Michigan off for you, No, who's in your top?
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: Who's in your top?
- 1:14:53Speaker 3: Was Michigan wasn't recruiting and you know they weren't recruiting
- 1:14:56Speaker 3: in the South like that, Michigan, Michigan, Michigan, note your dame.
- 1:15:00Speaker 3: They had that idea of they wanted people who played
- 1:15:02Speaker 3: in cold weather. That's that's the kind of They didn't
- 1:15:05Speaker 3: understand the difference in speed in the South versus the North.
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: Who's your top three? And why did you choose San
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: Diego State?
- 1:15:12Speaker 3: San Diego State wasn't even in the runnings it was
- 1:15:15Speaker 3: it was Nebraska, Miami and Texas, A and m So.
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: Why San Diego State.
- 1:15:22Speaker 3: I took a trip out there. I was like, I
- 1:15:25Speaker 3: want to live here. This is nice. Man, at the
- 1:15:28Speaker 3: plain Land, you take the one sixty three down you're
- 1:15:31Speaker 3: you're riding. I'm like, I've never seen anything this beautiful,
- 1:15:34Speaker 3: and the only thing I could think of, Yes, I
- 1:15:37Speaker 3: get to spend maybe four or five years out of school,
- 1:15:39Speaker 3: but I get to live here the rest of my life.
- 1:15:42Speaker 3: And so I live in San Diego. In San Diego
- 1:15:47Speaker 3: lawyer Laoya.
- 1:15:48Speaker 2: So when I was training, I would be in a
- 1:15:49Speaker 2: Lucadia Carlsbata's area. Dude. It was we'd stay like on
- 1:15:53Speaker 2: the bluff, hang out, like just a way of living
- 1:15:55Speaker 2: out there. Like so California really just can't.
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: Beat it, dude.
- 1:15:58Speaker 3: Yeah, I fell in love with it my trip out there,
- 1:16:00Speaker 3: I just I fell in love with I fell in
- 1:16:02Speaker 3: love with the city. The school so open, and it's
- 1:16:05Speaker 3: just like and then it was like a melting pot,
- 1:16:08Speaker 3: like I mean, and I was I had never been
- 1:16:11Speaker 3: around any Asians, no Mexicans. I was like, there's everything
- 1:16:18Speaker 3: at this school. Like the diversity was unbelievable.
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: What was the process like going into the draft? Because
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: you were number two overall? Right, number two, number two overall?
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: Talk about that because obviously like running back, now you
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: got somebody in the top ten, it's like, oh, that's
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: a big leap. Like back when you were running back,
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: Like the running back was the premier spot that you
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: drafted at you signed guys like you built around the
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: running back.
- 1:16:41Speaker 3: Guess what we didn't do in college? The running backs
- 1:16:44Speaker 3: that got drafted early that you see going one, two, three,
- 1:16:47Speaker 3: guess what we didn't do in college? We didn't share
- 1:16:50Speaker 3: the backfield. You watch college down you got three and
- 1:16:52Speaker 3: four guys playing. I'm like, who's the guy? You can't
- 1:16:56Speaker 3: tell who the guy is. Yeah, and so if you
- 1:16:59Speaker 3: don't step up demand. Look, hey, I want to carry
- 1:17:02Speaker 3: the ball twenty twenty five times a game, and then
- 1:17:05Speaker 3: you're not gonna get it. The position and I'm saying it,
- 1:17:09Speaker 3: the position has been devalued by the guys who want
- 1:17:12Speaker 3: to share time. Even in the pros, these guys come out. Man,
- 1:17:15Speaker 3: I never wanted to come out of the game. I
- 1:17:17Speaker 3: didn't want somebody taking my spot, right, and now it's
- 1:17:21Speaker 3: like to run two carries like they'll less somebody else
- 1:17:25Speaker 3: then right, right.
- 1:17:25Speaker 2: It's got to make you appreciate a guy like Derek
- 1:17:27Speaker 2: Henry then.
- 1:17:28Speaker 3: Yeah, well, Derek Henry, Christan McCaffrey, Kristen don't come in.
- 1:17:33Speaker 7: For me, right.
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: I saw I actually read recently. I think there's just
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: an article on it about CMC talking about how he's
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: connected with you in the off seasons or you giving
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: him advice feedback. I think it was like you and
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: Ladanian Tomlinson taking care of your body, just kind of
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: being like Christians, kind of like that that style that
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: you were where you're you can do everything. You can
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: catch out of the backfield, you can line up at receiver,
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: you can run the ball, talk about talk about meeting
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: him and how you been Uh kind of I guess
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: a mentor uh and during his career.
- 1:18:04Speaker 3: I mean I wish I could say I was a mentor.
- 1:18:06Speaker 3: The kid is such astute and obviously we know his
- 1:18:10Speaker 3: father is is the pedigreed is there. But what I
- 1:18:13Speaker 3: love is in today's game, very few guys reach out.
- 1:18:17Speaker 3: They I got it, I know. And the fact that
- 1:18:20Speaker 3: you know, he'll call and he'll ask certain things and
- 1:18:23Speaker 3: he's not asking for pointers on how to hit the hole,
- 1:18:25Speaker 3: and he's like, how do I longevity? You played thirteen years?
- 1:18:29Speaker 3: How do I do this? How do I add? What
- 1:18:31Speaker 3: did you change about your workouts when you got to
- 1:18:32Speaker 3: this age? What did you you know? The things that
- 1:18:35Speaker 3: you want to know to to like next level, which
- 1:18:37Speaker 3: is how to maintain your body, how to take care
- 1:18:40Speaker 3: of yourself. And and that's that's what he's doing. It's
- 1:18:43Speaker 3: it's not about what happens on the field, is about
- 1:18:45Speaker 3: what happens off the field. And he's smart enough to
- 1:18:48Speaker 3: understand the game is going to be played. You just
- 1:18:50Speaker 3: got to be out there to be to play it
- 1:18:53Speaker 3: the best, the best, the best, the best. When you
- 1:18:57Speaker 3: have talent and you see it, the best ability is
- 1:19:00Speaker 3: your availability.
- 1:19:02Speaker 2: That's yeah, with going back to San Diego, San Diego State,
- 1:19:05Speaker 2: when you're having all these big offers and you just
- 1:19:07Speaker 2: go to a place and the location to you is like, oh,
- 1:19:10Speaker 2: this is where I want to be, Like, was there
- 1:19:12Speaker 2: any family members? I was like, listen, you have an
- 1:19:14Speaker 2: opportunity to go to the NFL. Here are you sure
- 1:19:15Speaker 2: you want to go to stand.
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: To Miami, but to Miami in the nineties.
- 1:19:19Speaker 3: But listen, and I'm gonna be like, I'll be honest
- 1:19:22Speaker 3: with you guys. On my high school football team in
- 1:19:24Speaker 3: four years, I probably won like six games. Like we
- 1:19:28Speaker 3: were we sucked, like you couldn't tell. But everybody we
- 1:19:31Speaker 3: played like you could, like I scored on when we
- 1:19:35Speaker 3: played against the really good teams, Like I wasn't on
- 1:19:38Speaker 3: a good team. So it wasn't like you saw in me,
- 1:19:41Speaker 3: Oh he could go to the NFL. It was like
- 1:19:44Speaker 3: you people didn't know, right, they didn't see it. So
- 1:19:48Speaker 3: when I got to se Diego State and all right
- 1:19:51Speaker 3: now I'm not playing running back receiver quarterback, dB kicker, punter,
- 1:19:57Speaker 3: return kicks, punts. Like when I walked on the fielding
- 1:20:00Speaker 3: in high school, I didn't come off till halftime. Yeah,
- 1:20:05Speaker 3: oh yeah, I did everything and when the and when
- 1:20:08Speaker 3: the kicker was okay, I held for him. So I
- 1:20:11Speaker 3: did everything. So they didn't really get a chance to see.
- 1:20:15Speaker 3: So I get to San Diego State now it's just
- 1:20:17Speaker 3: like that's all I do is play running back. Oh
- 1:20:21Speaker 3: my god, this is easy. Are you kidding me? I
- 1:20:24Speaker 3: get I get the rest while the defenses out there.
- 1:20:27Speaker 3: Oh man, way easier.
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: It was.
- 1:20:30Speaker 3: It was like night and day.
- 1:20:31Speaker 2: So if you didn't know in high school, like for
- 1:20:33Speaker 2: for me, I I tell a story that I got
- 1:20:35Speaker 2: offered by Utah State going into my senior year and
- 1:20:38Speaker 2: that was like, Okay, I'm gonna go to the NFL.
- 1:20:40Speaker 2: And when we're for you where you're like, okay, I'm
- 1:20:42Speaker 2: for sure maybe not going to have the success that
- 1:20:44Speaker 2: you've eventually had, but like what did you know, Like
- 1:20:46Speaker 2: I'm gonna be an NFL football player.
- 1:20:48Speaker 3: Second, my second game in college literally first game didn't
- 1:20:51Speaker 3: go well. First game, first game, I didn't I didn't
- 1:20:54Speaker 3: play much. Yeah, and I got in it was like
- 1:20:57Speaker 3: we we we played. I think it was like long
- 1:20:59Speaker 3: beach date. And I got in and I had a
- 1:21:02Speaker 3: couple of good runs and then I, you know, tried
- 1:21:05Speaker 3: to tried to do a little too much and did
- 1:21:07Speaker 3: a spin move in the ball flew in the air.
- 1:21:10Speaker 11: I was like, oh my god.
- 1:21:12Speaker 3: And then the next the next game, I don't play
- 1:21:17Speaker 3: the first quarter. First play, first play of the second quarter,
- 1:21:24Speaker 3: hour starting running back was the punt returner. He gets
- 1:21:27Speaker 3: hitting the thigh and he's out and coach grabs my
- 1:21:31Speaker 3: face mask. The only thing he says is hold on
- 1:21:32Speaker 3: to the ball, and so so from right right hold
- 1:21:37Speaker 3: on to the ball. So I ended up playing the
- 1:21:42Speaker 3: rest of the second quarter, the third quarter, and half
- 1:21:45Speaker 3: of the fourth. In that time, I'd rushed for three
- 1:21:48Speaker 3: hundred and eighty nine yards and seven touchdowns. Literally, people
- 1:21:56Speaker 3: get mad at me because they because because after that,
- 1:21:59Speaker 3: like I think after that year, they shut down the
- 1:22:01Speaker 3: football program. It was University of Pacific literally ended in time. Literally,
- 1:22:08Speaker 3: that's what they say you.
- 1:22:09Speaker 2: They don't shut down programs anymore. That is nuts me.
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: Yeah, all right. We interrupt this episode with Marshall Falk
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: to bring you David Busters. Every Monday and Thursday after
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: four pm. Throughout the tournament, Davin Busters is celebrating with
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: all you can Eat Wings and a ten dollars power
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: card starting at just twenty two dollars and ninety nine cents.
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: Terms and conditions apply again, all you can Eat wings
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: and a ten dollars power card starting at twenty two
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: to ninety nine. If you guys do that math about
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: thirteen bucks, you're getting All you can Eat Wings A
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: David Busters terms and conditions apply Back to the episode,
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: What was it like going from uh where'd you grow up? Exactly?
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: New Orleans, New Orleans, to San Diego and then to Indianapolis.
- 1:22:52Speaker 3: All culture shocks, yeah, all culture shocks, Like I'm talking
- 1:22:56Speaker 3: night and day.
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: Man, what was that?
- 1:22:58Speaker 3: I remember before we get to that, remember going to
- 1:23:01Speaker 3: the going to the combine. So I leave, I leave
- 1:23:04Speaker 3: San Diego, I go to I fight to Indianapolis for
- 1:23:06Speaker 3: the combine. It's cold like it's it's like this time
- 1:23:10Speaker 3: of the year in Indy and it did just had
- 1:23:12Speaker 3: like one of the worst blizzards and I never been
- 1:23:15Speaker 3: in snow. I'm like, oh my god, it sucks.
- 1:23:18Speaker 1: This is awful.
- 1:23:19Speaker 3: I would never live here. With the second pick, Indianapolis
- 1:23:24Speaker 3: coach take bar fuck. I'm like, oh my.
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: God, yeah, take us to your thought process probably pumped
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: checking around or second overall, but that same time you're like, damn,
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: I gotta go to Indianapolis.
- 1:23:34Speaker 3: Man. I was just like, that's all I was thinking
- 1:23:36Speaker 3: about was the wintertime. I was just like, man, it's
- 1:23:38Speaker 3: how cold it was when I was there, So I
- 1:23:40Speaker 3: kept I was happy that we played indoors, but at
- 1:23:44Speaker 3: that point in time, they didn't have an indoor practice facility.
- 1:23:46Speaker 3: Oh yeah, my first year. My first year, we didn't
- 1:23:50Speaker 3: have an indoor practice facility. So it was, uh, it
- 1:23:54Speaker 3: wasn't It wasn't as bad as I thought. It's it's
- 1:23:56Speaker 3: so different when you like in college, how you see
- 1:24:01Speaker 3: things too in the pros, Like you grow up real
- 1:24:04Speaker 3: fast when you like you're a rookie. Halfway through the season,
- 1:24:07Speaker 3: it starts to get starts to get cold, and you're
- 1:24:09Speaker 3: you're in the locker room and you're in the huddle
- 1:24:11Speaker 3: and he's grown men. He's like grown ass men, and
- 1:24:14Speaker 3: they're like, like, my job's on the line.
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: Hold on to the ball.
- 1:24:19Speaker 3: You're like, man, this like this guy gotta feed his kids.
- 1:24:24Speaker 3: They got like like the game. For some people, it's
- 1:24:27Speaker 3: not really a game. It's like it's their livelihood and
- 1:24:30Speaker 3: they take it serious.
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: And that was that.
- 1:24:32Speaker 3: That's like a that's like a whole nother transition seeing
- 1:24:35Speaker 3: the game for what it is, but make it, but
- 1:24:37Speaker 3: trying to make sure that it's still fun for you
- 1:24:39Speaker 3: because the funk can go out of it real quick.
- 1:24:41Speaker 2: That's gotta be. Like the hardest thing though, is realizing
- 1:24:44Speaker 2: how much of a business it is, especially like high school,
- 1:24:47Speaker 2: Like all your boys, like you win in six games
- 1:24:49Speaker 2: your entire hot, but every single Friday, the boys are
- 1:24:51Speaker 2: hyped up. Yeah, after how it was for you boys,
- 1:24:53Speaker 2: but hey, it's like how we're going to find a
- 1:24:55Speaker 2: toll pack of beer after this? You know, chase a
- 1:24:57Speaker 2: couple of girls around like.
- 1:24:57Speaker 3: The same thing.
- 1:24:58Speaker 2: But you're all kind of like doing doing your thing.
- 1:25:00Speaker 2: And then you go to college and it's like a
- 1:25:01Speaker 2: little more obviously more serious, but like no one's got
- 1:25:04Speaker 2: no one's married, no one has families, Like you're still
- 1:25:06Speaker 2: like all as a community going and doing the same thing.
- 1:25:09Speaker 2: Across San Diego.
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: You're all chasing the NFL.
- 1:25:11Speaker 2: Yeah, and you're all chasing the NFL. And you get
- 1:25:12Speaker 2: the NFL and it's like now you're twenty one years
- 1:25:14Speaker 2: old and there's thirty two year old dudes, three kids growing.
- 1:25:19Speaker 2: Then they go, they do their business and they leave.
- 1:25:21Speaker 2: You're like, yo, you want to you want to hang out.
- 1:25:23Speaker 2: They're like, noah, dog, what are you talking about. I'm
- 1:25:25Speaker 2: gonna go see my family. Like how difficult was that
- 1:25:27Speaker 2: for you to kind of like realize and keep the
- 1:25:30Speaker 2: fun when it was so business.
- 1:25:31Speaker 3: Yeah, you obviously like you got to have the right
- 1:25:35Speaker 3: support system around you because a lot of the dudes
- 1:25:39Speaker 3: in the locker room they're not when it's over, You're
- 1:25:43Speaker 3: not going to play Madden like, you're not going to
- 1:25:46Speaker 3: hang out. Yeah, And your priorities start to change, and
- 1:25:50Speaker 3: you start to understand how much of a business it
- 1:25:52Speaker 3: is and you have to start. Yeah, the game is
- 1:25:54Speaker 3: fun and you're getting paid a lot of money, and
- 1:25:57Speaker 3: it's a business and they expect you to do your
- 1:25:59Speaker 3: job and if you if you don't, if you don't
- 1:26:02Speaker 3: do the things you're supposed to do, the fund can
- 1:26:04Speaker 3: go out of it really quick, really quick.
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: How do you feel like your professionalism in like, uh,
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: you know, acclimating yourself to the league as a running
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: back developed over time, especially as a younger guy like
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: you were alluding to, you know, talking with Christian about
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: like maintaining your body and everything like that, Like how
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: did you develop as a pro uh in the early
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: part of your career.
- 1:26:24Speaker 3: That what what I told him and the things that
- 1:26:27Speaker 3: I say to him, and it Spant told it to me.
- 1:26:29Speaker 3: Thurman Thomas told it to me, Ronnie Harmon, Like these
- 1:26:33Speaker 3: old heads they if you ask the veterans will tell
- 1:26:36Speaker 3: you what to do, Like they'll give you the information
- 1:26:38Speaker 3: on how to have a long a long career and
- 1:26:41Speaker 3: how to last and and and how to how to
- 1:26:43Speaker 3: community continue to be productive in your latter years. I mean,
- 1:26:48Speaker 3: it wasn't a hard thing. Actually what what what is
- 1:26:51Speaker 3: hard is early in your career, making sure that you
- 1:26:55Speaker 3: do an off season, you remain in shape, you don't
- 1:26:57Speaker 3: go party with your boys. Later in your career, making
- 1:27:00Speaker 3: sure that you value you value the time that you
- 1:27:03Speaker 3: get to train and don't oh, I got to take
- 1:27:05Speaker 3: my kids here, I got to go here with the wife,
- 1:27:08Speaker 3: the time that we get. Those thirteen years that I played,
- 1:27:11Speaker 3: it's like a blip in my life, Like it was
- 1:27:13Speaker 3: such a fun time. But when I look back at it,
- 1:27:16Speaker 3: I was like, man, that seemed like so long, But
- 1:27:19Speaker 3: it was. It went so fast, so cherishing in the
- 1:27:23Speaker 3: moments that you have and the responsibilities to making sure
- 1:27:27Speaker 3: that you are the best that you can be. It's
- 1:27:30Speaker 3: a responsibility that you got to take on because when
- 1:27:33Speaker 3: I'm in the huddle, you know what, I want you
- 1:27:34Speaker 3: to know when you're looking at me, that you can
- 1:27:36Speaker 3: come at me. I want you to know that I
- 1:27:38Speaker 3: did the things that I was supposed to do an
- 1:27:39Speaker 3: off season to be here, and I got you, and
- 1:27:41Speaker 3: I need to know you did the same thing.
- 1:27:44Speaker 2: How was it difficult for you to ask for that
- 1:27:46Speaker 2: guidance and help from those older guys?
- 1:27:47Speaker 1: No?
- 1:27:48Speaker 3: Uh huh, No, I'm so. I'm the youngest.
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: I I got.
- 1:27:51Speaker 3: I got five older brothers. I'm the youngest of six,
- 1:27:54Speaker 3: and I learned, you know, I learned by watching them
- 1:27:58Speaker 3: and asking them. And I didn't have to repeat they
- 1:28:00Speaker 3: paid the dummy tax. I didn't have to pay it.
- 1:28:04Speaker 1: Yeah. No, it's fair of being the youngest. You kind
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: of have to go by it like the humble way,
- 1:28:07Speaker 1: because if not the older, your older brothers will humble you. Yeah,
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: we're both, we're both the oldest. Goheaba, No, did you
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: have one? Yeah?
- 1:28:15Speaker 2: I was gonna say, was there ever, like somebody you
- 1:28:18Speaker 2: reached out to for help, that was like you got
- 1:28:20Speaker 2: to figure out for yourself.
- 1:28:22Speaker 3: Nah, because I was select I was always selective. What
- 1:28:24Speaker 3: I did was I made sure that I formed some
- 1:28:27Speaker 3: type of relationship with the person before I engaged and
- 1:28:32Speaker 3: asked for help. And I think that's what you do.
- 1:28:36Speaker 3: You just call somebody up and say hey. You don't
- 1:28:39Speaker 3: ask them about their life, you know, don't find out
- 1:28:41Speaker 3: about anything that motivates them. You know, you don't find
- 1:28:43Speaker 3: out if y'all have any commonalities. You just ask them.
- 1:28:46Speaker 3: I mean that's kind of cheesy. Call somebody, you get
- 1:28:49Speaker 3: to know them, and that's what christ and they say, Hey, man,
- 1:28:51Speaker 3: I'm a big fan, huge fan of yours. Always loved
- 1:28:53Speaker 3: your game, Like like we had a conversation about where
- 1:28:57Speaker 3: I was at in life and what I was doing
- 1:28:58Speaker 3: and how things are going before we got into anything
- 1:29:01Speaker 3: about ball. Yeah, And I think there's just a respectful
- 1:29:04Speaker 3: way to go about it. Who is that rival running
- 1:29:07Speaker 3: back that you always just kept your eye on that
- 1:29:09Speaker 3: all of them, every every back that I took to,
- 1:29:11Speaker 3: I didn't care where you were drafted, how good you were.
- 1:29:14Speaker 3: I wanted to be the best running back on the field. Actually,
- 1:29:16Speaker 3: I wanted to be the best football player on the
- 1:29:18Speaker 3: field period. That's what I always thought about. I never
- 1:29:20Speaker 3: looked at it as as a position, like I always
- 1:29:23Speaker 3: looked at myself as a football player like I was
- 1:29:25Speaker 3: never I wasn't a running back or receiver or slot like.
- 1:29:29Speaker 3: I didn't want labels. I was like, I can play
- 1:29:31Speaker 3: the game of I'm a football player.
- 1:29:33Speaker 1: Right, I was I gonna ask? It was so tasting
- 1:29:39Speaker 1: the business for the first time, Like you get traded
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: to Saint Louis. Before you get traded, you have some
- 1:29:44Speaker 1: turf toe that you're battling a couple of years.
- 1:29:46Speaker 3: Before you did your homework.
- 1:29:48Speaker 1: Listen, man, Marshall Fulk, you're on the man cover. You
- 1:29:53Speaker 1: seeing the jerseys transition of navy blue and gold, like
- 1:29:56Speaker 1: you're Marshall Fulk. So yes, I know a little bit
- 1:29:59Speaker 1: about but tasting the business for the first time, like
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: walk us through that, like because you know you're you're
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: drafted second overall, like you're the man, and then all
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: of a sudden you get traded for a couple of
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: picks to Saint Louis, Like talk up at that relationship
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: and kind of seeing the business for what it is
- 1:30:13Speaker 1: with Indianapolis.
- 1:30:14Speaker 3: Yeah, I was ready for change, and I think Indianapolis
- 1:30:18Speaker 3: they were as long as because my last year there
- 1:30:21Speaker 3: in ninety eight, I almost did a thousand thousand. Like
- 1:30:23Speaker 3: I was like, we sucked, but I had an amazing year.
- 1:30:28Speaker 3: I almost did a thousand thousand, yeah, you know, and
- 1:30:31Speaker 3: we only won like three or four games. So I
- 1:30:33Speaker 3: was putting in work. But what they realized was that
- 1:30:36Speaker 3: people were still following me. I was the leader, and
- 1:30:40Speaker 3: they wanted it to be Peyton's team. So moving me
- 1:30:45Speaker 3: kind of took a security blanket away from Peyton, which
- 1:30:48Speaker 3: which actually allowed him to grow up because the next
- 1:30:50Speaker 3: year they went thirteen and three and he took charge
- 1:30:52Speaker 3: of the team. How that was kind of his leadership way.
- 1:30:56Speaker 3: But for me that happened but in the move, accepting
- 1:31:01Speaker 3: the fact that it was time to go, and it's
- 1:31:05Speaker 3: kind of like like I kind of needed it in
- 1:31:07Speaker 3: a sense because when you walk into a new locker
- 1:31:09Speaker 3: room and there's guys and it's like you got traded,
- 1:31:12Speaker 3: you got this big contract. They looking at you, you
- 1:31:15Speaker 3: looking at them, and it's like it's like, who the
- 1:31:17Speaker 3: hell is this guy? Who does he think he is?
- 1:31:20Speaker 3: And and and you walk you go from a locker
- 1:31:22Speaker 3: room to where you're proven to a locker room where
- 1:31:25Speaker 3: you have to prove yourself, and it puts you back,
- 1:31:28Speaker 3: like it gives you that edge back. I got that
- 1:31:30Speaker 3: edge back, and I was like, Okay, I like this.
- 1:31:32Speaker 3: I gotta show I got to earn their respect before
- 1:31:35Speaker 3: before they believe I can lead them. And if if
- 1:31:39Speaker 3: you accept it like that, then the business is easy.
- 1:31:41Speaker 1: To deal with.
- 1:31:42Speaker 2: Gotcha, how long does it take you to earn that
- 1:31:43Speaker 2: respect in your mind? I mean, I'm extremely established. I'm
- 1:31:46Speaker 2: sure it didn't take very.
- 1:31:47Speaker 1: Long, but.
- 1:31:49Speaker 3: It actually took I'm gonna tell you, I'll be honest.
- 1:31:52Speaker 3: It took a few games. I'm gonna tell you. So
- 1:31:55Speaker 3: we were we were I think we were six and
- 1:31:58Speaker 3: oh and I barely touched the ball. And I had
- 1:32:03Speaker 3: not won games in the NFL without touching the ball
- 1:32:06Speaker 3: that much. Like I think the first game I touched
- 1:32:09Speaker 3: the ball twelve times, the next game like thirteen, maybe fifteen.
- 1:32:15Speaker 3: But we go, we're I think we were six and
- 1:32:17Speaker 3: oh five and oh six and oh, and we're in Tennessee.
- 1:32:20Speaker 3: We're playing the Titans, and they're giving us the business.
- 1:32:24Speaker 3: You know, they're giving us the business. I'm just telling you.
- 1:32:30Speaker 3: We go into the locker room. I go to Mike Mars.
- 1:32:33Speaker 3: I said, Mike, I understand you being judicious. Just come
- 1:32:37Speaker 3: to me. And so we come out. We come out
- 1:32:40Speaker 3: the first like five or six plays, the ball goes
- 1:32:43Speaker 3: to me, we score, and so I kind of took
- 1:32:45Speaker 3: over the game. We were down like twenty one, twenty one,
- 1:32:49Speaker 3: maybe three, and we ended up tying it up twenty
- 1:32:53Speaker 3: four to twenty four, and they got the ball, drove
- 1:32:56Speaker 3: down and kicked the field goal in overtime. But they
- 1:32:59Speaker 3: had not seen like I literally took over the game.
- 1:33:02Speaker 3: And that's when they were like, okay, like all right,
- 1:33:07Speaker 3: we now we see who this guy is. Right before that,
- 1:33:11Speaker 3: you know, I was just like I was coasting. I
- 1:33:13Speaker 3: hadn't really taken over a game or played up to
- 1:33:16Speaker 3: my potential because I was just a part of the
- 1:33:18Speaker 3: offense I was doing. You know, I'm five eight ten
- 1:33:21Speaker 3: yards twenty yar score a touchdown here. It didn't we
- 1:33:24Speaker 3: didn't need to dominate. But like I was like Mike, like, have.
- 1:33:32Speaker 2: You always been a guy that's like, hey, give me
- 1:33:34Speaker 2: the give me the ball, or was that like was
- 1:33:36Speaker 2: that a new thing for you to do to kind
- 1:33:38Speaker 2: of like that was that.
- 1:33:41Speaker 3: Was always my personality was like if we're going to
- 1:33:44Speaker 3: we're gonna win. If I have the ball, that's like
- 1:33:46Speaker 3: if I'm getting the ball, we are going to win.
- 1:33:48Speaker 3: That's like that was always by my personality.
- 1:33:50Speaker 2: That's like a standard textbook personality trait of a skill
- 1:33:54Speaker 2: position guy that you need probably so you need that
- 1:33:57Speaker 2: like aj Brown playing with him with the Titans, like
- 1:33:59Speaker 2: he was a guy that like he's not getting a
- 1:34:00Speaker 2: lot of catches. He's like, do you all want to
- 1:34:02Speaker 2: win or not? Like you need to give me the football.
- 1:34:04Speaker 2: And a lot of guys can look at that as
- 1:34:05Speaker 2: like selfish guys not think about the team, but like
- 1:34:07Speaker 2: you want dudes to have that kind of confidence and
- 1:34:10Speaker 2: that kind of like that have that edge of being
- 1:34:12Speaker 2: like I can truly make a difference any point in
- 1:34:15Speaker 2: the game at any time.
- 1:34:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I went about it a little different because I mean,
- 1:34:20Speaker 3: should I play with ice Bruce Tory Holt? So I
- 1:34:23Speaker 3: was always like Mike, look, no problem, Like we start
- 1:34:25Speaker 3: the game, you throw it, no problem. But when it
- 1:34:28Speaker 3: get real, when it get real, like hey where to go?
- 1:34:33Speaker 1: Hey?
- 1:34:34Speaker 3: Yeah, like like you know when I started looking at
- 1:34:38Speaker 3: him like hey.
- 1:34:38Speaker 1: Yeah, like let's get going.
- 1:34:40Speaker 3: Score a little too close?
- 1:34:41Speaker 1: Yeah, what was it like playing with the Peyton just
- 1:34:46Speaker 1: coming into it was.
- 1:34:46Speaker 3: Fun, man, it was fun. It was fun like watching
- 1:34:49Speaker 3: him learn the game because he had all the attributes,
- 1:34:54Speaker 3: but the speed of the game was just a little different,
- 1:34:56Speaker 3: like your first year for a quarterback. It's moving fast,
- 1:34:59Speaker 3: like fast thing you ever thought. And he threw a
- 1:35:02Speaker 3: bunch of interceptions, and I mean I used to we
- 1:35:04Speaker 3: used to walk off and he used to. I just
- 1:35:06Speaker 3: didn't think the guy could get there. I didn't think
- 1:35:08Speaker 3: the guy could get there. And then one time I
- 1:35:10Speaker 3: was just like, hey, Peyton, it's the NFL. Everybody can
- 1:35:12Speaker 3: get there. Yeah, Like it's a little different, man. All
- 1:35:17Speaker 3: these dudes, the dudes, man, they were at some point
- 1:35:19Speaker 3: in time, they were the best person on a team,
- 1:35:22Speaker 3: All of these dudes in the league.
- 1:35:23Speaker 2: Like the dudes with obviously that rookie year throwing all
- 1:35:27Speaker 2: those interceptions, did you expect him to have the career.
- 1:35:29Speaker 1: That he ended up having.
- 1:35:29Speaker 3: Oh yeah, oh yeah, you can see it, you know
- 1:35:31Speaker 3: what I mean, Because it was all like every mistake
- 1:35:35Speaker 3: was a new mistake, and he didn't make the same
- 1:35:37Speaker 3: mistake twice. Once he made that mistake he fouled it away,
- 1:35:40Speaker 3: never made the mistake again.
- 1:35:43Speaker 1: Let's dive into the greatest show on turf. Talk about
- 1:35:47Speaker 1: that year. We have a Tennessee titan Na Nashville native.
- 1:35:53Speaker 1: You want to hug yard and a half. You want
- 1:35:55Speaker 1: to hug he hugg It's okay, that newspaper shot reaching.
- 1:36:02Speaker 3: I'll give you a hug.
- 1:36:04Speaker 1: No talk about talk about that year. Man in the
- 1:36:06Speaker 1: in the Rise of the Saint Louis Rams.
- 1:36:09Speaker 3: It was literally I remember being in that locker room,
- 1:36:13Speaker 3: you know, from the start of the season, and I
- 1:36:16Speaker 3: think it was like I think it was Keith Lolla
- 1:36:18Speaker 3: Todd Light. They say why not us? Like why not us?
- 1:36:22Speaker 3: Literally like why not us? Why? Why why can't we
- 1:36:25Speaker 3: dominate the league? And everybody was like huh And like
- 1:36:32Speaker 3: that literally started. You could see, guys, because the Rams
- 1:36:37Speaker 3: had a lot of good draft picks, but they just
- 1:36:40Speaker 3: couldn't put the pieces together. And it was because they
- 1:36:44Speaker 3: had drapped with Orlando Pace, gwyn Renstrom, Isaac Bruce, Todd Light,
- 1:36:50Speaker 3: like all of these dudes the first rounds. Like they
- 1:36:52Speaker 3: they had guys that was still on the team, that
- 1:36:55Speaker 3: that that could play, and you know, it just it
- 1:37:00Speaker 3: just hadn't happened for them, but the the willingness to
- 1:37:05Speaker 3: just buy in and and and we started this. We
- 1:37:09Speaker 3: started this thing with celebrating as a team. Like it
- 1:37:12Speaker 3: started in practice. It didn't matter who caught the touchdown,
- 1:37:15Speaker 3: we were going to celebrate as a team. It didn't
- 1:37:17Speaker 3: matter who got the sack where they were gonna we
- 1:37:19Speaker 3: were gonna celebrate as a team. And and that started
- 1:37:22Speaker 3: to feed into the identity. And then we had this
- 1:37:25Speaker 3: special teams coach that was like, he was the best
- 1:37:29Speaker 3: I had ever heard get people ready to play. I mean,
- 1:37:33Speaker 3: and he used to use a lot of war analogies
- 1:37:36Speaker 3: and and and and ask guys to go and and
- 1:37:40Speaker 3: and tell them what to do. And it used to
- 1:37:43Speaker 3: get people so fired up. I mean, I didn't even
- 1:37:45Speaker 3: play Special Teams. I sat in the Special teams meetings
- 1:37:48Speaker 3: just to hear him talk shit. And and he man,
- 1:37:53Speaker 3: Frank Ganz was like he was he was one of
- 1:37:55Speaker 3: the best Special teams coaches ever played. And in that
- 1:37:58Speaker 3: mantra of us, everybody was like, we gotta go to
- 1:38:04Speaker 3: work if we want to do this, and that became
- 1:38:06Speaker 3: our whole thing. Gotta go to work, Gotta go to work,
- 1:38:09Speaker 3: Gotta go to work. Gotta go to work when.
- 1:38:11Speaker 2: You guys, So you guys are feeling the juice your
- 1:38:13Speaker 2: celeb yeah team and everything, like when did that? Like,
- 1:38:16Speaker 2: all right, the momentum is in our favor right now,
- 1:38:19Speaker 2: when did it turn into O legit we could win
- 1:38:22Speaker 2: a super Bowl this year?
- 1:38:26Speaker 3: After after we lost to Tennessee, the next week of practice,
- 1:38:34Speaker 3: how we showed up. I had been a part of
- 1:38:40Speaker 3: teams that lost games and showed up like it was nothing.
- 1:38:45Speaker 3: Guys showed up, hissed mad, like working hard. You could
- 1:38:50Speaker 3: see that the linemen like O line, D line, they
- 1:38:52Speaker 3: were in fights with each other. It wasn't the it
- 1:38:55Speaker 3: wasn't the i'm i'm I'm I'm doing defensive scout team
- 1:38:58Speaker 3: a offensive scout team and I'm just getting in your weight.
- 1:39:01Speaker 3: It was like they were trying to kick each other's
- 1:39:03Speaker 3: butt and and I was like, man, these dudes, these
- 1:39:09Speaker 3: dudes hungry man, and you could you could start to
- 1:39:12Speaker 3: see it. And we I think right after that, we
- 1:39:15Speaker 3: played the Niners and the Rams hadn't beat the Niners
- 1:39:17Speaker 3: in like eleven times, and we blew them out, like
- 1:39:20Speaker 3: literally blew them out. And that's when it was like
- 1:39:25Speaker 3: there's something here. There's literally something here.
- 1:39:28Speaker 1: And having that pissed off team after losing the Titans,
- 1:39:32Speaker 1: how hungry were you guys to play them again in
- 1:39:33Speaker 1: the in the super Bowl.
- 1:39:38Speaker 3: We couldn't have had a better opponent. Literally, could not
- 1:39:40Speaker 3: have had a better opponent.
- 1:39:42Speaker 1: Came down to the last place, could.
- 1:39:43Speaker 3: Not have had a better opponent.
- 1:39:44Speaker 7: Man.
- 1:39:44Speaker 3: It was like, if you go back and watch the
- 1:39:47Speaker 3: game that we played them in Tennessee, like that game
- 1:39:51Speaker 3: was hard, was just as hard fought as the Super Bowl.
- 1:39:55Speaker 3: And and to watch the effort of it, George and
- 1:40:01Speaker 3: the late Steve McNair, like the effort, Like I watch
- 1:40:04Speaker 3: the last drive, Steve McNair is leaving it all out there.
- 1:40:07Speaker 3: I'm talking dog tired, and this dude is finding a
- 1:40:11Speaker 3: way to stay up, fight guys off complete passes.
- 1:40:16Speaker 1: And you know what was your vibe like on the
- 1:40:19Speaker 1: sideline seeing him drive down.
- 1:40:22Speaker 3: I'm gonna be honest, man, I was like I was
- 1:40:24Speaker 3: so calm because I just didn't think this is I
- 1:40:28Speaker 3: was like I knew a little bit about Fisher. I
- 1:40:32Speaker 3: was like, there's no way he goes for two because
- 1:40:34Speaker 3: if they scored, they were tied. But there was no
- 1:40:39Speaker 3: way he was going for two.
- 1:40:40Speaker 2: You know, that route was ran wrong. That route at
- 1:40:44Speaker 2: that depth was just a little bit more.
- 1:40:47Speaker 6: But that that's it.
- 1:40:48Speaker 1: Though.
- 1:40:49Speaker 3: The discipline of the game is sometimes what caused all
- 1:40:53Speaker 3: the times is when you while you win or lose
- 1:40:56Speaker 3: the discipline and how you do stuff.
- 1:40:58Speaker 1: Mike Jones, Yeah, Held had that final tackle. You also
- 1:41:02Speaker 1: played with I got to play with him.
- 1:41:04Speaker 2: Oh I stay in the super Bowl. Stay in the
- 1:41:05Speaker 2: super Bowl because I was so toy. I played for
- 1:41:08Speaker 2: the Titans twenty nineteen, were two quarters away from going
- 1:41:10Speaker 2: to a Super Bowl. Tell me that feeling of running
- 1:41:14Speaker 2: out of the tunnel for a Super Bowl to literally
- 1:41:16Speaker 2: achieve a world championship, that that moment is it because
- 1:41:19Speaker 2: you like obviously extremely successful, like you've literally done everything
- 1:41:23Speaker 2: you can possibly do as a football player, but like
- 1:41:25Speaker 2: the opportunity to achieve like the holy grail of a
- 1:41:29Speaker 2: team sport?
- 1:41:30Speaker 1: Like what is that? Was it moment? Massive?
- 1:41:32Speaker 2: Or was it?
- 1:41:32Speaker 1: Like?
- 1:41:33Speaker 2: How hard was it to stay like kind of composed
- 1:41:35Speaker 2: just running out of the tunnel knowing win or loose
- 1:41:38Speaker 2: is the last game of the year and this is
- 1:41:40Speaker 2: a legacy deal.
- 1:41:41Speaker 3: I didn't even try to stay composed smart, Like what
- 1:41:45Speaker 3: I did was I I allow whatever was going to
- 1:41:48Speaker 3: happen to happen, and that you know, I was going
- 1:41:51Speaker 3: to be able to gather myself and play the game.
- 1:41:53Speaker 3: That's literally when I ran out of that out of
- 1:41:56Speaker 3: the tunnel, I was so hyped, like I started a
- 1:41:59Speaker 3: hyper villain lady. I had to go to the sideline
- 1:42:01Speaker 3: and get some oxygen. I was like so excited because
- 1:42:05Speaker 3: as a kid, like my friends and I'm I'm I'm
- 1:42:09Speaker 3: from New Orleans. We're playing in Atlanta. I got so
- 1:42:11Speaker 3: many people at the game, like people that spent their
- 1:42:13Speaker 3: last to get there because they grew up, you know,
- 1:42:18Speaker 3: And I'm thinking about my boys when we you know,
- 1:42:20Speaker 3: as kids, every time, it didn't matter what the score was.
- 1:42:24Speaker 3: Oh ship, the street lights coming on. We got to
- 1:42:26Speaker 3: get home. This play is to win the Super Bowl.
- 1:42:28Speaker 3: I'm like, I get a chance. Man, You're crazy, Like
- 1:42:32Speaker 3: I was not gonna hold anything back. And you know,
- 1:42:35Speaker 3: by the time when I ran out, I'm I'm like,
- 1:42:37Speaker 3: I'm amped, and I time I wore myself out, I'm
- 1:42:42Speaker 3: sitting on the bench, I'm.
- 1:42:43Speaker 1: Like, I gotta catch my bread yeah, fague.
- 1:42:48Speaker 3: Literally I started the game off tired, and it took
- 1:42:51Speaker 3: like I had to catch my second win just to
- 1:42:54Speaker 3: go out and play. That's that's how much adrenaline is
- 1:42:57Speaker 3: going through your body to play that game.
- 1:43:00Speaker 2: What a moment that would be.
- 1:43:01Speaker 1: They're the MVP that year too, Right, No, that was
- 1:43:04Speaker 1: Kurt's that was Kurt. You were second to Kurt? Right,
- 1:43:08Speaker 1: that's wild, Like Kurt was Kurt Warner's number one.
- 1:43:11Speaker 3: So three years in a row, two So Kurt one
- 1:43:14Speaker 3: I was second. I won, he was second. Kurt one
- 1:43:17Speaker 3: I was second three years in a row.
- 1:43:19Speaker 1: To a guy who was filling grocery bags.
- 1:43:21Speaker 3: Man, the best grocery bagger in the business.
- 1:43:24Speaker 1: Question detail.
- 1:43:26Speaker 2: Bags were never on the bottom, Like he knew what
- 1:43:28Speaker 2: the hell he was doing.
- 1:43:29Speaker 1: Yeah, what was he like? Playing with him?
- 1:43:31Speaker 6: Hey?
- 1:43:31Speaker 3: Best man?
- 1:43:32Speaker 1: I know?
- 1:43:32Speaker 3: Man, I tell people all the time, like I'm talking
- 1:43:35Speaker 3: not just football player, but like person you meet him
- 1:43:39Speaker 3: like so authentic, so authentic, uh, and just just enjoyed
- 1:43:45Speaker 3: playing with him. He only got upset with himself. It
- 1:43:51Speaker 3: didn't matter who was yelling at him. He's he maintained
- 1:43:55Speaker 3: who he was, and he always stayed in his person
- 1:43:58Speaker 3: and who he wanted to be, like a man of fan, always.
- 1:44:03Speaker 1: Not going back to back Spygate, Patriots taking it from
- 1:44:09Speaker 1: from us from the Rams from US Rams.
- 1:44:12Speaker 2: You were a Cowboys fan.
- 1:44:13Speaker 1: I was a Cowboys fan. But you're still like, you know,
- 1:44:15Speaker 1: when the when the city team wins. As a kid,
- 1:44:18Speaker 1: you're on that bandwagon, you know what I mean. Like
- 1:44:21Speaker 1: Marshall Falk was on the cover of Madden. You pretended
- 1:44:24Speaker 1: to be guys like Marshall Falk, Trail Davis, Eddie, George
- 1:44:27Speaker 1: out in the front yard. But back to the question
- 1:44:30Speaker 1: of not getting that back to back Super Bowl against
- 1:44:33Speaker 1: the Patriots, talk about that.
- 1:44:35Speaker 3: Yeah, that was a tough one, man. You know, for
- 1:44:39Speaker 3: for a while, I hung on that loss more than
- 1:44:42Speaker 3: I did the win, you know, And and and you
- 1:44:47Speaker 3: just you just, you know, you gotta let it go.
- 1:44:49Speaker 3: You literally let it go. And and that's that's easy
- 1:44:53Speaker 3: to do when you play sports. You know, you you
- 1:44:55Speaker 3: don't you don't really know how to really maintain what
- 1:45:03Speaker 3: you need in order to enjoy the win. It's so
- 1:45:06Speaker 3: much easier to go down and be pissed off about
- 1:45:08Speaker 3: the losses. So much easier, you know, because it it
- 1:45:12Speaker 3: becomes few to your fire. You know, you use it
- 1:45:14Speaker 3: to like get stuff done.
- 1:45:15Speaker 10: You know.
- 1:45:16Speaker 3: Really, when you're the best, you're like, oh, I'm gonna
- 1:45:19Speaker 3: work out harder. You know, it's like it's harder to
- 1:45:22Speaker 3: work out harder when you're the best. It's easier to
- 1:45:24Speaker 3: work out harder when when there's some adversity or something's
- 1:45:28Speaker 3: up against you. And so you know, I had to
- 1:45:30Speaker 3: I really had to like work on like, man, I
- 1:45:34Speaker 3: gotta let this go. Like I enjoyed winning the super
- 1:45:37Speaker 3: Bowl more than I did losing the Super Bowl. Why
- 1:45:40Speaker 3: am I not talking about this as much?
- 1:45:42Speaker 1: Yeah? Do you feel there's any truth to the spy gate?
- 1:45:49Speaker 3: And man, look, I mean let's let's just let's just
- 1:45:54Speaker 3: say this. It's it's it's not one spy gate, its
- 1:45:59Speaker 3: two spike gates. There's all kinds of stuff that you
- 1:46:02Speaker 3: know it's but but in this, in this, in this
- 1:46:05Speaker 3: business of professional sports, you know, Al Davis used to said,
- 1:46:10Speaker 3: if you ain't cheating, you ain't trying.
- 1:46:11Speaker 6: Man.
- 1:46:12Speaker 3: And some people, some people, you know, you you find it,
- 1:46:16Speaker 3: You find a way to get it done. And in
- 1:46:19Speaker 3: the game, in between the lines, it ain't holding it.
- 1:46:22Speaker 3: They don't call it, Yeah, but spying if they don't,
- 1:46:27Speaker 3: if they don't call it, they gotta call it. The
- 1:46:30Speaker 3: league has to throw the challenge flag on itself. Yeah,
- 1:46:34Speaker 3: And they ain't never doing that. We're not gonna be baseball.
- 1:46:37Speaker 3: Remember that baseball got some taint it. He ain't doing that.
- 1:46:42Speaker 3: You're not gonna see no asterisk buying any super Bowl?
- 1:46:44Speaker 4: YEA?
- 1:46:44Speaker 3: Trust that?
- 1:46:45Speaker 2: When do you when you come back to obviously you
- 1:46:47Speaker 2: didn't play in Las Vegas for a Super Bowl, but
- 1:46:49Speaker 2: you're during super Bowl Week? Like is there a piece
- 1:46:52Speaker 2: of nostalgia every time you come back and do all
- 1:46:54Speaker 2: this stuff?
- 1:46:55Speaker 3: Always always always just just the memory, the memories of
- 1:46:59Speaker 3: because because when you're actually when you're like so when
- 1:47:02Speaker 3: I was in the league, I would not come to
- 1:47:04Speaker 3: a super Bowl until I played one or until I
- 1:47:06Speaker 3: won one. So I never came until until until then
- 1:47:10Speaker 3: I came to ninety four, and then I didn't come
- 1:47:12Speaker 3: again until until after ninety nine, until after the two
- 1:47:17Speaker 3: thousand season. So you're always wondering when you're playing, like
- 1:47:21Speaker 3: what's happening? What's going on out there?
- 1:47:23Speaker 1: What? What's what?
- 1:47:24Speaker 11: What?
- 1:47:24Speaker 1: Like?
- 1:47:24Speaker 3: What what's what's what's happening?
- 1:47:26Speaker 1: Yeah, And.
- 1:47:28Speaker 3: Now being on this side of it, I'm always thinking about, like, man,
- 1:47:33Speaker 3: what are they talking about? Like what are they what
- 1:47:35Speaker 3: are they game planning? What's the scheme?
- 1:47:37Speaker 1: Like, like the guys what what?
- 1:47:39Speaker 11: What?
- 1:47:39Speaker 1: What are? What are they planning on?
- 1:47:41Speaker 3: Because you talk about how much you're going to man
- 1:47:45Speaker 3: after we win this, after we win this, here's what
- 1:47:48Speaker 3: we're gonna do after we win. Oh, I can't wait.
- 1:47:50Speaker 3: I can't Like you're you're manifesting your destiny and so
- 1:47:54Speaker 3: you're talking about it. You can see it, and that's
- 1:47:57Speaker 3: why when you lose it hurts so much.
- 1:47:59Speaker 2: There's obviously a lot of passion in your voice, Like
- 1:48:01Speaker 2: where did you get this championship mindset? Has it always
- 1:48:04Speaker 2: been since you were a young child or did it
- 1:48:06Speaker 2: have to develop over process of elimination of trying new
- 1:48:09Speaker 2: things and kind of having to pivot if it okay,
- 1:48:11Speaker 2: this mindset, this way, this body of work is not
- 1:48:14Speaker 2: working for me right now, Like where did you get
- 1:48:15Speaker 2: to where? What we're seeing right now?
- 1:48:17Speaker 3: When you're the youngest and because of age, size or whatever,
- 1:48:23Speaker 3: you don't get to win, it burns in you. Like
- 1:48:26Speaker 3: I I So basketball is my first sport, and my
- 1:48:31Speaker 3: brothers they all played basketball, and my two brothers that
- 1:48:34Speaker 3: were really good. When I got big enough, they wouldn't
- 1:48:37Speaker 3: play me, so they didn't want to lose to me.
- 1:48:40Speaker 3: So it's it's literally just it's just competitive at me. Yeah,
- 1:48:43Speaker 3: you know, I compete at everything everything that I do,
- 1:48:46Speaker 3: I compete and I'm always competing against myself. I'm just
- 1:48:48Speaker 3: trying to get better, just trying to get better. I'm
- 1:48:50Speaker 3: trying to live life better, trying to be a better
- 1:48:52Speaker 3: human every day.
- 1:48:52Speaker 2: There's got to be like a with football players or
- 1:48:54Speaker 2: anybody who plays a sport in general, there's got to
- 1:48:56Speaker 2: be like this insane competitiveness like about you every fast,
- 1:49:00Speaker 2: Like I feel, it doesn't leave any part of your life,
- 1:49:02Speaker 2: Like what about it?
- 1:49:03Speaker 1: What now?
- 1:49:03Speaker 2: Are you like the most competitive in.
- 1:49:09Speaker 3: Probably golf?
- 1:49:10Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, big golfer.
- 1:49:13Speaker 3: I love golf. I love golf. It's it's the most
- 1:49:15Speaker 3: mentally challenging thing that I've ever done in my life.
- 1:49:19Speaker 1: Like it's.
- 1:49:21Speaker 3: You know, I've never been so mad and disappointed in
- 1:49:24Speaker 3: myself for not being able to mentally focus at something
- 1:49:28Speaker 3: that doesn't hit back.
- 1:49:30Speaker 12: You know.
- 1:49:30Speaker 3: It's like it's crazy.
- 1:49:33Speaker 2: If you could play somebody want a celebrity in golf
- 1:49:37Speaker 2: just to know that you could beat them. Who to
- 1:49:38Speaker 2: be to know that I can be, not know that
- 1:49:41Speaker 2: you could beat that, But if you want to prove yourself,
- 1:49:42Speaker 2: like a guy like Michael Jordan.
- 1:49:44Speaker 3: We know he plays all the time Tiger, Like I
- 1:49:45Speaker 3: would like to play Tiger in the match.
- 1:49:47Speaker 2: And you think you'd beat Tiger.
- 1:49:48Speaker 3: I'm saying I would like to play Tiger. Come on, man, like, really,
- 1:49:54Speaker 3: have you seen the clip?
- 1:49:56Speaker 2: There's a there's a barstool podcast called Foreplay and they
- 1:49:58Speaker 2: did a long drive company with Tiger. Have you seen
- 1:50:00Speaker 2: that clip? Yeah, he's on his knees. Yeah, incredible. Out
- 1:50:04Speaker 2: drives him, out drives him.
- 1:50:05Speaker 1: That is just crazy. Do you got any good uh?
- 1:50:08Speaker 1: I got to play with London Fletcher, like his last year.
- 1:50:11Speaker 1: Do you have any good London Fletcher stories? Because you
- 1:50:13Speaker 1: was used with him when he was young, like undrafted,
- 1:50:16Speaker 1: like he always had this look at his eye he
- 1:50:18Speaker 1: kept at the end his entire career. But do you
- 1:50:20Speaker 1: have any good London Fletcher stories?
- 1:50:21Speaker 3: So the best, this is my best. I don't know
- 1:50:24Speaker 3: if we named him dot com dot com Fletcher dot com,
- 1:50:29Speaker 3: so we started calling him dot com. But here's how
- 1:50:32Speaker 3: I met London. I was on the coats and we
- 1:50:35Speaker 3: had a joint practice because Jim Moore, he he and
- 1:50:40Speaker 3: Dick Vermill they coached together at U c l A.
- 1:50:42Speaker 3: So we meet at Champagne Illinois and we have a
- 1:50:44Speaker 3: joint practice, all right, and we get ready to do
- 1:50:50Speaker 3: one on ones and uh like, the starting linebacker comes up.
- 1:50:55Speaker 3: I don't I don't remember who it was. And I
- 1:50:57Speaker 3: came up and I come out the backfield on the route,
- 1:51:01Speaker 3: catch the ball. Then we moved to the other side.
- 1:51:04Speaker 3: I come up. The other starting linebacker came up, caught
- 1:51:07Speaker 3: the ball on him, and then it's time for me
- 1:51:10Speaker 3: to go again. And the linebacker that's up is like
- 1:51:14Speaker 3: wearing number sixty six. And I turned around. I'm like,
- 1:51:18Speaker 3: can y'all get somebody else in here?
- 1:51:23Speaker 1: And it was London.
- 1:51:24Speaker 3: It was London because it was his rookie year, and
- 1:51:27Speaker 3: he was like, he was like, you don't want to
- 1:51:30Speaker 3: go against me. You don't want to go against me.
- 1:51:32Speaker 3: I'm like, look, man, I ain't trying to get hurt
- 1:51:33Speaker 3: messing with no rookie, right all right? And two years later,
- 1:51:38Speaker 3: I'm playing with him and we line up and he
- 1:51:42Speaker 3: reminded me. He was like, hey, I know you don't notice,
- 1:51:45Speaker 3: but I was number sixty six when we were in camp.
- 1:51:50Speaker 1: I said, okay, did he ever do have your strap
- 1:51:53Speaker 1: you one on ones?
- 1:51:54Speaker 7: Oh?
- 1:51:55Speaker 3: No, not never, No, he couldn't not no. But you
- 1:51:58Speaker 3: know Pat linebacker pass right past pro, you know, pass pro,
- 1:52:04Speaker 3: meet him in the ag gap, catching him off the edge.
- 1:52:06Speaker 3: He he won his battles there. You know, I put
- 1:52:09Speaker 3: up a good fight and I'm supposed to lose that.
- 1:52:11Speaker 3: I'm just supposed to occupy your time, right, I supposed
- 1:52:15Speaker 3: to win. I'm just supposed to get in your way death.
- 1:52:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:52:18Speaker 3: Yeah, but but one on one he no chance. I
- 1:52:21Speaker 3: told him. I said, listen, here's the reality. Ain't whether
- 1:52:23Speaker 3: I'm going to catch the ball. The reality is you're
- 1:52:26Speaker 3: not gonna touch me. Like in this drill me, winning
- 1:52:31Speaker 3: is whether you touch me or not.
- 1:52:33Speaker 5: Has there been a linebacker to strap you, whether it's
- 1:52:36Speaker 5: in a game.
- 1:52:36Speaker 3: Oh yeah, oh yeah, it's it's listen, it's going to happen, right,
- 1:52:41Speaker 3: I mean it's yeah, It's happened many a times. But
- 1:52:44Speaker 3: but like we're talking situation, you know what I'm saying.
- 1:52:48Speaker 3: If it's if it's third and I gotta win, whatever
- 1:52:50Speaker 3: that is, it ain't happening.
- 1:52:52Speaker 1: Now.
- 1:52:52Speaker 3: You can catch me on second down. You can probably
- 1:52:54Speaker 3: catch me, you know. But if if if we're calling
- 1:52:57Speaker 3: the play and this play is it's third in this
- 1:53:01Speaker 3: and we're going to they're calling they're calling my route
- 1:53:04Speaker 3: or a play to me. Unless they double team me,
- 1:53:09Speaker 3: like and take me out and make the quarterback not
- 1:53:11Speaker 3: throw it to me. I'm winning. That's that's just that
- 1:53:14Speaker 3: was like guarantee.
- 1:53:14Speaker 1: I mean you essentially, I mean you were like known
- 1:53:17Speaker 1: for the folk route coming out of the backfield running vertical.
- 1:53:20Speaker 1: I know that was absolute hell for any linebacker to
- 1:53:23Speaker 1: have to do.
- 1:53:24Speaker 3: Just cover Marshall out of the Listen, what are you
- 1:53:26Speaker 3: thinking about? You're like, Okay, it's gonna break in. You're
- 1:53:27Speaker 3: gonna break out right and amenity runs boy.
- 1:53:31Speaker 1: You You're like, oh, are you strapping down Marshall? Yeah?
- 1:53:37Speaker 1: I mean, you know I'll get him every now and then,
- 1:53:39Speaker 1: do you think?
- 1:53:39Speaker 12: So?
- 1:53:40Speaker 1: Yeah, Man, I'm gonna get I'm gonna have my day.
- 1:53:41Speaker 1: I'm gonna have that.
- 1:53:42Speaker 3: Out of ten times, I'm gonna win.
- 1:53:44Speaker 1: I'm gonna guess right at some point.
- 1:53:45Speaker 3: I'm the other time I fell down, I'm gonna.
- 1:53:50Speaker 1: Get I'll have to guess, but I'll guess right at
- 1:53:53Speaker 1: some point, and then that's when I'll stop playing, you
- 1:53:55Speaker 1: know what I mean. Now, I'm shall, you know, get
- 1:53:57Speaker 1: somebody else here. I'm not trying to get hurt. Against
- 1:53:59Speaker 1: somebody like you, dude, you were talking earlier about always
- 1:54:04Speaker 1: wanting to be the running back, like never leave the field,
- 1:54:07Speaker 1: be that guy at all times. Talk about like when
- 1:54:09Speaker 1: Steven Jackson was coming in and you start splitting characters
- 1:54:12Speaker 1: and splitting reps in the later part of your career,
- 1:54:15Speaker 1: Like how was that for you?
- 1:54:17Speaker 3: So the story is different than that. When they drafted,
- 1:54:22Speaker 3: Steve and I had a conversation be cause Stephen and
- 1:54:23Speaker 3: I we had the same agent. And I said to
- 1:54:26Speaker 3: Steve and I say, look, here's the reality. And I
- 1:54:28Speaker 3: told Mike, I said, here's the reality. If you want
- 1:54:31Speaker 3: the job, you got to beat me out. I'm not
- 1:54:33Speaker 3: giving it to you, like I'm not. You have to
- 1:54:36Speaker 3: take this job. And I told him, I said, the
- 1:54:40Speaker 3: only reason why that's the case is in this huddle,
- 1:54:45Speaker 3: the best guy gonna be here for these dudes. And
- 1:54:48Speaker 3: so if you beat me up, you're the best guy.
- 1:54:50Speaker 3: That's it. But I knew I was, you know, I was.
- 1:54:53Speaker 3: I think I was like thirty two, you know, and
- 1:54:56Speaker 3: I was like I couldn't play whole games anymore. I needed,
- 1:55:00Speaker 3: you know, I needed to kind of split time a
- 1:55:03Speaker 3: little bit, you know. I just I wasn't the back
- 1:55:08Speaker 3: I was. I once was, so.
- 1:55:12Speaker 1: It was. It was good.
- 1:55:13Speaker 3: He he learned a lot.
- 1:55:15Speaker 1: You know.
- 1:55:15Speaker 3: I sat down with him and went over film and
- 1:55:19Speaker 3: talked about here's what I see, Here's what I'm thinking,
- 1:55:22Speaker 3: this is my prestat read, you know whatever. Whatever I
- 1:55:26Speaker 3: could teach him, I taught him, you know, just just
- 1:55:28Speaker 3: in not like taking him under my wing. Just I
- 1:55:32Speaker 3: want when he's in there, I want.
- 1:55:34Speaker 4: Him to have.
- 1:55:36Speaker 3: What I have and how I see things for the
- 1:55:38Speaker 3: other ten guys in there. So and he was, he was,
- 1:55:43Speaker 3: he was awesome, and he he never I mean, you're
- 1:55:46Speaker 3: you're your early pick. You know, you're you're playing behind
- 1:55:50Speaker 3: you know, guys in his eleven twelfth year, you know,
- 1:55:54Speaker 3: and it's like ship. You can't win the job. That
- 1:55:58Speaker 3: could mess what you're confident, you know started, Yeah, that
- 1:56:02Speaker 3: started the best with your confidence. And the only thing
- 1:56:06Speaker 3: that kept me in the game was because you know,
- 1:56:09Speaker 3: like the mental side of the game, you know, mentally mentally,
- 1:56:13Speaker 3: I just I didn't make many mistakes. And when you can,
- 1:56:18Speaker 3: when you can, when your mind is sharp and you
- 1:56:21Speaker 3: cannot make mistakes, and you could be efficient with carries,
- 1:56:24Speaker 3: always get positive yards. Although you don't hit the home
- 1:56:26Speaker 3: run the way you used to and you're not. You
- 1:56:28Speaker 3: can't do all the things that you used to do.
- 1:56:30Speaker 3: You can still be effective.
- 1:56:33Speaker 2: How was how was that process when you start to
- 1:56:35Speaker 2: figure out, okay, I can't hit the home run, I
- 1:56:37Speaker 2: am losing a step like father time and starting.
- 1:56:39Speaker 3: To catch up with you. Right, oh, yeah, you're in.
- 1:56:43Speaker 2: When did the denial turn into acceptance?
- 1:56:49Speaker 3: Maybe the season before my last So my the twelfth year,
- 1:56:54Speaker 3: I had a series of games that I mean like
- 1:56:58Speaker 3: I never got tackled by the first guy, and and
- 1:57:01Speaker 3: so it happened probably three or four games where single
- 1:57:06Speaker 3: guy ran up on me, I put a move on him,
- 1:57:08Speaker 3: and he got me. And I was and I was like,
- 1:57:12Speaker 3: and I was like, man, you know, hmm, you just
- 1:57:17Speaker 3: you're thinking like, oh, oh that was a good tag.
- 1:57:19Speaker 3: He barely got my leg. Oh he barely. Oh he
- 1:57:22Speaker 3: hit my leg and it hit my other foot. And
- 1:57:25Speaker 3: those are things that that first guy wouldn't even touch
- 1:57:28Speaker 3: me right now and now yeah, and now I'm getting
- 1:57:34Speaker 3: tackled by the first guy. To me, that was like,
- 1:57:37Speaker 3: you know, that's like a wounded animal out there. I'm like, listen,
- 1:57:39Speaker 3: there's blood in the water. There's no way I talk
- 1:57:41Speaker 3: too much smack when I play like, there's no way
- 1:57:44Speaker 3: I'm gonna be out here and I can't. I got
- 1:57:46Speaker 3: I can't make the first guy miss I'm in trouble.
- 1:57:49Speaker 1: You who some of the best ship talkers you went against.
- 1:57:55Speaker 3: Johnny Randall, Rodney Harrison straight hand talked all day. Oh sap,
- 1:58:04Speaker 3: Oh my god. Sad wouldn't shut up, would not shut up.
- 1:58:09Speaker 2: It's impressive to see a big guy that doesn't shut up.
- 1:58:11Speaker 2: You know, you can kind of motor around that much
- 1:58:13Speaker 2: and keep the john Sets going the whole time.
- 1:58:15Speaker 3: Sad was was was the one, and he had an
- 1:58:18Speaker 3: issue with this guard that we had, uh, Frankie Garcia,
- 1:58:23Speaker 3: and he talks back to him the whole game, called
- 1:58:27Speaker 3: his name out the whole every time. He was Frankie,
- 1:58:29Speaker 3: I'm coming to get you, Frankie, look.
- 1:58:32Speaker 11: At me.
- 1:58:34Speaker 1: Anything you're saying to Frankie.
- 1:58:36Speaker 2: Hey, Frankie's okay, brother, We're here for you.
- 1:58:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:58:38Speaker 3: Oh well the first the first time it happened, he
- 1:58:40Speaker 3: was like, Frankie, Frankie and Frankie Frankie and and I'm
- 1:58:44Speaker 3: looking this way, Frankie's back as the Sad and I say,
- 1:58:48Speaker 3: Frankie talking to you.
- 1:58:51Speaker 5: Frank You gotta do something, frank stand up for yourself, Frankie.
- 1:58:56Speaker 2: And Off it's the lineman. And so a lot of
- 1:58:57Speaker 2: those dudes are South spoken cats. But he was he
- 1:59:00Speaker 2: a talker, was Frankie talker. He kind of keep nothing
- 1:59:03Speaker 2: to say, frank killing with kindness kind of guy.
- 1:59:05Speaker 3: Something happened Frankie was playing somewhere else in him and SAP.
- 1:59:09Speaker 3: Something something happened and they had issues. And when that's
- 1:59:13Speaker 3: when anytime SAP played him, regardless of he was playing
- 1:59:16Speaker 3: on it, he got after him.
- 1:59:18Speaker 1: Damn. How it's a bad guy to have on your back.
- 1:59:20Speaker 1: How do you, uh, how do you feel like the
- 1:59:23Speaker 1: game has gotten softer since you since your guys' era.
- 1:59:25Speaker 3: I wouldn't say softer, They just they're they're they're playing
- 1:59:29Speaker 3: smarter now. In playing smarter, what they've done is unfair
- 1:59:34Speaker 3: to defense. You know, guys are running across the middle
- 1:59:37Speaker 3: like their Bambi. They can't be touched. They trying to
- 1:59:40Speaker 3: play brave like like you know what I'm saying, Like, dude,
- 1:59:43Speaker 3: stop running across the middle and you're gonna get up
- 1:59:45Speaker 3: talking smack to somebody because they can't hit you unless
- 1:59:48Speaker 3: you look at them like if if if, if I IF,
- 1:59:52Speaker 3: I always say if I duck, that means I saw you. Yeah,
- 1:59:56Speaker 3: so that creates heilme with the helmet more helm with
- 1:59:58Speaker 3: the hillman. Contact happens when the guy ducks your linebacker.
- 2:00:02Speaker 3: You're going in he duck. Bam, help with the helmet
- 2:00:04Speaker 3: flag on you. They've put they put too much of
- 2:00:07Speaker 3: his responsibility on the defensive guy. The quarterback throwing the ball,
- 2:00:11Speaker 3: not protecting his receiver, the offensive coordinator calling these plays,
- 2:00:15Speaker 3: putting these guys in these kamakazi situations, none of them
- 2:00:19Speaker 3: are responsible.
- 2:00:20Speaker 2: And giving a lot of interpretation up to the referee. Yeah,
- 2:00:23Speaker 2: putting them in a difficult position.
- 2:00:25Speaker 3: And listen, any any hit that looks bad, they got
- 2:00:29Speaker 3: to throw a flag, got to they have to.
- 2:00:31Speaker 1: Yeah, what were your guys' off seasons? Like I'm trying
- 2:00:34Speaker 1: to remember because we had all start on and he
- 2:00:37Speaker 1: was talking about you know, how the union, how it shifted.
- 2:00:40Speaker 1: We asked for all this off time and stuff like that,
- 2:00:42Speaker 1: Like what were your guys? How long were your guys
- 2:00:44Speaker 1: off seasons? Like when did you have to report? So
- 2:00:48Speaker 1: your last game is in January?
- 2:00:49Speaker 3: Yeah, so last game in January, let's say February we
- 2:00:55Speaker 3: started off season conditioning and right after the draft. Off
- 2:01:01Speaker 3: season conditioning would be from February until the beginning of April,
- 2:01:06Speaker 3: and then you would leave after April. You come back
- 2:01:08Speaker 3: right after the draft and do the first mini camp.
- 2:01:11Speaker 3: They'd have a you know, if you were first or second,
- 2:01:13Speaker 3: your guy with the rookies, you do that mini camp,
- 2:01:16Speaker 3: and then the next week they'd have the bets would
- 2:01:20Speaker 3: come and you do another mini camp with the Vets
- 2:01:22Speaker 3: and the rooks. Yeah, and and camp was six weeks long.
- 2:01:29Speaker 1: Damn man, we do that?
- 2:01:30Speaker 6: I mean.
- 2:01:32Speaker 2: And not even talking about two days. Oh yeah, I
- 2:01:34Speaker 2: had to practice two.
- 2:01:35Speaker 3: Days, not for real, real days, not like not like home.
- 2:01:38Speaker 1: It's only too like my rookie yar.
- 2:01:40Speaker 2: Two day would be like practice in the morning with pads,
- 2:01:43Speaker 2: a little jogged through in the afternoon.
- 2:01:44Speaker 1: Yeah. No, we we were.
- 2:01:46Speaker 3: We were full strap ten days, full tackle too. Oh yeah,
- 2:01:51Speaker 3: tackle to the ground and goal line like live now.
- 2:01:58Speaker 1: When you when you were Marshall Fulk m v P.
- 2:02:02Speaker 1: Marshall Fulk, were you having to participate in on the
- 2:02:04Speaker 1: two days?
- 2:02:04Speaker 3: I still did it. Yeah, I still did it, Yeah,
- 2:02:08Speaker 3: because like that was I always my conditioning was how
- 2:02:15Speaker 3: I beat people. I was like you when we got
- 2:02:18Speaker 3: to the fourth quarter. I know you didn't work as
- 2:02:21Speaker 3: hard as me.
- 2:02:21Speaker 1: I knew it.
- 2:02:22Speaker 3: There's no way you worked as hard as me, No way.
- 2:02:26Speaker 1: What was what was it like you had you know,
- 2:02:29Speaker 1: you had to scale positions like yourself. You mentioned Torry Holt,
- 2:02:32Speaker 1: Isaac Bruce was all your guys' work ethics just sickening,
- 2:02:36Speaker 1: Like you're explaining.
- 2:02:37Speaker 3: Yeah, we we pushed each other like in conditioning, like
- 2:02:41Speaker 3: we were all we raced, we pushed each other. Like
- 2:02:47Speaker 3: some of the stuff you saw in games wasn't even
- 2:02:49Speaker 3: close to what we did in practice. Like if you
- 2:02:53Speaker 3: if you thought the greatest show on Turfin, if you
- 2:02:55Speaker 3: watch some of the practices, unbelievable, just unbelievable.
- 2:02:59Speaker 2: The joint practic it is today like the worst. It's
- 2:03:02Speaker 2: let's like a war. I can't imagine what they were
- 2:03:03Speaker 2: like when you play.
- 2:03:05Speaker 3: Well now in today's in today's game, that's all they
- 2:03:08Speaker 3: have to They understand that they getting to fight practice over.
- 2:03:12Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, but it's also there's not a whole hour
- 2:03:15Speaker 2: at the same time, like there's not you know, if
- 2:03:17Speaker 2: you get like a little scuffle like there's not you
- 2:03:19Speaker 2: don't have to worry about penalties. Guys are playing a
- 2:03:21Speaker 2: lot harder and a lot dirty. I feel like joint
- 2:03:23Speaker 2: practices are actually more difficult than games.
- 2:03:26Speaker 1: To an extent.
- 2:03:27Speaker 3: Yeah, I I I don't know, Like for for us,
- 2:03:31Speaker 3: a joint practice was easier than our practice solo. Yeah,
- 2:03:36Speaker 3: because a joint practice, I'm going against somebody who don't
- 2:03:38Speaker 3: know me. When you're going against somebody, when you practice
- 2:03:41Speaker 3: against somebody who know what you do every damn day,
- 2:03:43Speaker 3: you know how hard that is to defeat him every day.
- 2:03:46Speaker 2: It's like to learn everything.
- 2:03:47Speaker 3: When the team you got to play in your division,
- 2:03:49Speaker 3: you gotta play him twice. That second time you play him,
- 2:03:51Speaker 3: it's hard. If you play him a third time, you're like,
- 2:03:54Speaker 3: we beat him twice, can we beat him again? It's hard.
- 2:03:58Speaker 3: But now you get to go up against another team
- 2:04:01Speaker 3: that's like, oh man, this, this is cake, this this
- 2:04:04Speaker 3: guy don't know my tricks?
- 2:04:05Speaker 1: Right? Looking for an assist with your credit card but

- 2:04:38Speaker 2: is give me your top three teammates of all time?
- 2:04:40Speaker 2: Doesn't have to be best players, just the boys like
- 2:04:42Speaker 2: hanging out with the most.
- 2:04:45Speaker 3: Todd light, Uh, Tory hot.
- 2:04:52Speaker 1: And who else?
- 2:04:57Speaker 3: Oh a guy that so so this is funny. So
- 2:05:00Speaker 3: my backup in college was my backup in the pros
- 2:05:04Speaker 3: for real? Yeah, a guy named Justin Watson.
- 2:05:06Speaker 2: How to get to the NFL? Playing behind you if
- 2:05:08Speaker 2: you said, never come off the field.
- 2:05:10Speaker 3: Literally it just happened.
- 2:05:12Speaker 1: Was younger than you, like you leave, he has a
- 2:05:14Speaker 1: year he's doing it.
- 2:05:15Speaker 3: Uh huh Yeah, I left, So he was my backup.
- 2:05:20Speaker 3: I left. He had two years. He was in camp
- 2:05:23Speaker 3: with the Chargers. He was in camp with the Chargers,
- 2:05:28Speaker 3: was was was was on their practice squad for two
- 2:05:30Speaker 3: years and then got picked up when I got traded
- 2:05:32Speaker 3: to the Rams.
- 2:05:33Speaker 1: You got any good uh? Your best post Super Bowl
- 2:05:37Speaker 1: memory in that next week two span after you guys
- 2:05:41Speaker 1: win the title.
- 2:05:41Speaker 3: Oh man, just every every everywhere I went, I think
- 2:05:47Speaker 3: I spent I spent the week down in Miami South Beach,
- 2:05:51Speaker 3: rented a yacht like just just yeah, I mean I was.
- 2:05:56Speaker 3: I mean you gotta remember I never won anything in football, like,
- 2:05:59Speaker 3: I never wanting I never wanted to pay football.
- 2:06:02Speaker 7: Man.
- 2:06:03Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying.
- 2:06:03Speaker 3: You never like I never I won a championship in basketball, baseball,
- 2:06:07Speaker 3: I won state running track. I never won a championship
- 2:06:11Speaker 3: in football. And my the first championship I went in
- 2:06:14Speaker 3: football is in the NFL. I lost my damn mind.
- 2:06:19Speaker 1: Crazy to most money you spent in the night. So
- 2:06:24Speaker 1: I was.
- 2:06:24Speaker 3: I was a smart party.
- 2:06:25Speaker 1: You know.
- 2:06:26Speaker 3: I didn't always take it on. I always had teammates
- 2:06:28Speaker 3: with me, so we split the bill. So we always
- 2:06:32Speaker 3: split the bill, credit card roulette and nothing like that.
- 2:06:35Speaker 3: I mean that happened a couple of times.
- 2:06:36Speaker 2: But you have sure you didn't get gone.
- 2:06:38Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, you don't make sure you know I've
- 2:06:40Speaker 3: I've uh yeah, I mean it's happened. It's happened.
- 2:06:44Speaker 1: What's the heaviest bill you've seen?
- 2:06:53Speaker 3: One of the trips we took to Vegas?
- 2:07:04Speaker 1: What, man, I have to come to you man, Yeah,
- 2:07:07Speaker 1: what Flavor Flave man have done? Because we saw you?
- 2:07:13Speaker 2: So I'm in Michigan, right yeah, Michigan, Michigan, Verst, Nebraska.
- 2:07:16Speaker 1: A couple of years ago. I had to come.
- 2:07:19Speaker 3: I had to come in here and call my own
- 2:07:20Speaker 3: version of.
- 2:07:22Speaker 1: Right here.
- 2:07:24Speaker 6: How you doing, my brother?
- 2:07:25Speaker 3: I'm good, man, I'm good. No complaints, I mean, I mean,
- 2:07:29Speaker 3: no complaints, no interruption.
- 2:07:31Speaker 12: I gotta break out, man, I just want to come
- 2:07:33Speaker 12: Special Love man, probably see you probably tonight.
- 2:07:37Speaker 3: Let's do that, okay, my man, my man, Uh, excuse.
- 2:07:44Speaker 1: You're good. Welcome to busting with the boys. Many take care,
- 2:07:48Speaker 1: God bless yeah marshalls right on, man.
- 2:07:51Speaker 2: Hey, I did see him back that.
- 2:07:53Speaker 1: I saw that chain. I was like, is that he did? Yeah?
- 2:07:55Speaker 10: Yeah?
- 2:07:57Speaker 1: Slave just jumping in.
- 2:07:59Speaker 2: Hey, what a wait in the show.
- 2:08:01Speaker 1: Yeah, how do you know Flavor flav Oh?
- 2:08:03Speaker 2: Man, he's super Bowl when you can see. Yeah, he
- 2:08:11Speaker 2: was on the yacht.
- 2:08:13Speaker 3: Hey man, me and Flavor we go back by. That
- 2:08:17Speaker 3: dude's a pioneer, man. Yeah, you gotta love some flavor.
- 2:08:21Speaker 1: Who's the first dude you were starstruck by him?
- 2:08:26Speaker 2: Flavor of Love?
- 2:08:30Speaker 3: Probably I was in college. I just like bursted onto
- 2:08:38Speaker 3: the scene. My freshman year the next year, and I
- 2:08:41Speaker 3: went up to LA to watch, uh, to watch Martin
- 2:08:46Speaker 3: and to get to get to meet Martin Lawrence, you know,
- 2:08:49Speaker 3: like in the time when he was doing Martin.
- 2:08:52Speaker 1: Oh Man.
- 2:08:53Speaker 3: I was just like, you know, I wasn't into the
- 2:08:55Speaker 3: whole Hollywood thing, but to see like, you know, most
- 2:08:59Speaker 3: actors play somebody else, but Martin is Martin. Like Martin
- 2:09:02Speaker 3: is Martin Lawrence, so like you're getting to see the
- 2:09:05Speaker 3: dude be himself. It was just like, damn, this is
- 2:09:09Speaker 3: this dude, this this Martin. Man, he was like the
- 2:09:12Speaker 3: first star star that I met.
- 2:09:14Speaker 1: How about a flippant who was the first dude who
- 2:09:19Speaker 1: you weren't necessarily star stroked by, but you're surprised that
- 2:09:22Speaker 1: they were super like knew who you were or star
- 2:09:24Speaker 1: or were starstruked by you. I'm trying to feel like,
- 2:09:29Speaker 1: oh man, this dude, he knows who I am.
- 2:09:31Speaker 2: Someone comes up there, I'm a big fan of you, Like, bro,
- 2:09:33Speaker 2: you're you right?
- 2:09:34Speaker 1: Yeah, Like Charles Woodson in here early, He's like, oh yeah,
- 2:09:36Speaker 1: busting with the boys on night. Charles.
- 2:09:40Speaker 3: I'm trying to like, we got a call. I'm trying
- 2:09:54Speaker 3: to think I think it was I think it was
- 2:10:00Speaker 3: we got a call because he wanted a jersey. He
- 2:10:02Speaker 3: wore it in the video. He's in a he's in
- 2:10:05Speaker 3: there like he's wearing a bunch of videos. This was like,
- 2:10:08Speaker 3: you know, late nineties Jay, maybe early two thousand and
- 2:10:13Speaker 3: j one of my one of one of my jerseys
- 2:10:16Speaker 3: is in his video.
- 2:10:18Speaker 2: That's a good one.
- 2:10:19Speaker 3: Like I was like me, like my jersey. You know cats,
- 2:10:24Speaker 3: cats from New York don't want to Yeah, they don't
- 2:10:26Speaker 3: went to outside of Jersey. When you're from New York,
- 2:10:29Speaker 3: you're wearing all New York and stuff.
- 2:10:31Speaker 1: That is sick anything. Should we ask him anything before
- 2:10:34Speaker 1: we leave, before we head out? Is he still in there?
- 2:10:37Speaker 14: Oh yeah, question absolutely, mm hmm. Like so many of
- 2:10:48Speaker 14: these texts, Uh.
- 2:10:56Speaker 1: Okay, all right, we have before we let you go
- 2:11:01Speaker 1: talk about a drug free world.
- 2:11:04Speaker 3: Yeah, man, I know we've been having some good times here,
- 2:11:06Speaker 3: but as you guys see, like uh, I literally I
- 2:11:10Speaker 3: went to talk to some high schoolers and these kids, man,
- 2:11:13Speaker 3: there they have no idea, they have no idea fitting
- 2:11:18Speaker 3: all in drugs, what's going on, and they're curious and
- 2:11:21Speaker 3: a lot of the times, as you know, we were
- 2:11:24Speaker 3: kids the minute the manuye. Your parents or somebody said say,
- 2:11:27Speaker 3: don't do what do you do?
- 2:11:29Speaker 11: You do?
- 2:11:30Speaker 1: Curious?
- 2:11:31Speaker 3: And we've just taken a different approach. I tell people
- 2:11:35Speaker 3: go to drug freeworld dot org. We're not gonna tell
- 2:11:37Speaker 3: you to say. We're not gonna We're not gonna tell
- 2:11:39Speaker 3: you no, We're not gonna tell you that don't do.
- 2:11:40Speaker 3: We're gonna tell you educate yourself, like just like you
- 2:11:43Speaker 3: use Google, go to our site, get the information. Don't
- 2:11:47Speaker 3: let your friend tell you this drug made me feel
- 2:11:50Speaker 3: like this and then you try it and you die
- 2:11:53Speaker 3: or something crazy happens. Literally, we have educator kids information,
- 2:12:00Speaker 3: anything and everything under the sun that you would need
- 2:12:02Speaker 3: just to understand before you try it. What's out there
- 2:12:07Speaker 3: for you?
- 2:12:08Speaker 1: What?
- 2:12:08Speaker 11: What?
- 2:12:08Speaker 1: Uh? What got you into that?
- 2:12:10Speaker 3: I just I grew up around drugs, and listen, I
- 2:12:14Speaker 3: made it to the Hall of Fame. And I wasn't
- 2:12:16Speaker 3: the best player on my team in high school. There's
- 2:12:19Speaker 3: I wasn't the best player at my community.
- 2:12:21Speaker 1: I mean, you seem like you played every position. I
- 2:12:22Speaker 1: would almost assume that you were probably the best player.
- 2:12:25Speaker 1: I wasn't. I wasn't.
- 2:12:26Speaker 2: Here's six games you play.
- 2:12:29Speaker 3: The best, the best guy sometimes didn't show up. You know,
- 2:12:34Speaker 3: he was cool, he was smoking weed, he was cool,
- 2:12:35Speaker 3: he was you know, and then eventually you know, that
- 2:12:38Speaker 3: guy was the guy. You know, after my rookie year,
- 2:12:42Speaker 3: I go back home, he's the guy on drugs.
- 2:12:45Speaker 1: You know.
- 2:12:45Speaker 3: It's like, so you know, what do you do? What
- 2:12:49Speaker 3: do you do? How you let people know? I believe
- 2:12:51Speaker 3: the best way to let people know is by educating
- 2:12:53Speaker 3: him and giving him the opportunities to, like, hey, at
- 2:12:56Speaker 3: your own liberties. Go to the site drug freeworld dot org.
- 2:12:59Speaker 3: Get them make the right decision.
- 2:13:02Speaker 1: Was it just like an area that just touched you
- 2:13:04Speaker 1: to be like, I want to like get into space
- 2:13:06Speaker 1: or was there anything?
- 2:13:07Speaker 3: I was always in the space. I grew up around it.
- 2:13:09Speaker 3: I grew up around it.
- 2:13:10Speaker 1: You know it it it.
- 2:13:12Speaker 3: It has touched me deeply. You know, I've lost many
- 2:13:14Speaker 3: of friends. I've had family members partake and have issues,
- 2:13:20Speaker 3: you know, and and recover, you know, yeah, to live
- 2:13:25Speaker 3: a better life. But everybody don't make it right.
- 2:13:27Speaker 1: Everybody don't How you know in your experience, do you
- 2:13:31Speaker 1: approach conversations like that with somebody close to you that
- 2:13:36Speaker 1: you would you know, it's like you want to immerse
- 2:13:39Speaker 1: yourself into their world and try to help them out,
- 2:13:42Speaker 1: but you struggle like bridging that gap for people that
- 2:13:46Speaker 1: are like watching right now. I know, I think of
- 2:13:48Speaker 1: a couple of situations in my circles where you like,
- 2:13:51Speaker 1: you're just trying to find the lane of like getting
- 2:13:54Speaker 1: them the help they getting them the help they need,
- 2:13:57Speaker 1: I guess without like being like forcing yourself one of them,
- 2:14:01Speaker 1: like in your experience, like what advice would you have
- 2:14:03Speaker 1: with that?
- 2:14:04Speaker 3: What I what I what I say is and what
- 2:14:06Speaker 3: I'm always trying to do is anything anything that we
- 2:14:13Speaker 3: we find ourselves needing in life. You gotta find out why,
- 2:14:19Speaker 3: like well why do I like that? Why why do
- 2:14:22Speaker 3: I need to do this?
- 2:14:23Speaker 11: What?
- 2:14:23Speaker 3: What is this masking? Because it's masking something, And if
- 2:14:27Speaker 3: you can get down to the core, then you can
- 2:14:29Speaker 3: solve the problem. And the reality is they might not
- 2:14:34Speaker 3: want to. They might not want the problem solve. They
- 2:14:36Speaker 3: might like how they live, how they live their life.
- 2:14:39Speaker 3: And when that's when that's the case, then you you
- 2:14:41Speaker 3: got to back off because until they are ready, it's
- 2:14:44Speaker 3: not gonna happen. You can't make it happen for them.
- 2:14:46Speaker 3: I can't make it happen for them. They have to
- 2:14:48Speaker 3: be ready.
- 2:14:50Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like the hardest part, right it is, Yeah,
- 2:14:52Speaker 2: just trying to get somebody to get ant of their
- 2:14:54Speaker 2: own way and.
- 2:14:55Speaker 1: Like backing up when you're just like, you know, you
- 2:14:57Speaker 1: care about somebody and you're you.
- 2:14:58Speaker 2: Know, yeah, time that type of situation where you're dealing
- 2:15:01Speaker 2: with somebody that's using or abusing, it's like you want
- 2:15:04Speaker 2: to help them. But usually with people that are abusing something,
- 2:15:08Speaker 2: when you go into approach them with that situation, yeah,
- 2:15:10Speaker 2: it's usually met with the resistance and it ends up
- 2:15:13Speaker 2: and it killed the messenger type of situation.
- 2:15:14Speaker 1: Yeah, do you go around and speak a lot?
- 2:15:16Speaker 3: Oh yeah, And you know, the the idea is that
- 2:15:19Speaker 3: it's it's just street drugs. It's not just street drugs.
- 2:15:23Speaker 3: You know, there's there's some prescription drugs that's that's out here.
- 2:15:26Speaker 2: I mean, prescription drugs are a whole another ballgame, like
- 2:15:29Speaker 2: they're i mean playing. Obviously, you get in there, they
- 2:15:32Speaker 2: give you a couple of pills. Hey, this is make
- 2:15:34Speaker 2: it feel a hold better. You take it and you're like, oh,
- 2:15:35Speaker 2: I get it. I understand why people get addicted to
- 2:15:38Speaker 2: these things and their lives end up getting ruined because
- 2:15:41Speaker 2: it is I mean, it's a deal.
- 2:15:45Speaker 3: It's a bit of a deal.
- 2:15:46Speaker 1: It's awesome that you go and do that too, Like
- 2:15:48Speaker 1: you were obviously pivotal and influential on the field, first
- 2:15:51Speaker 1: bout Hall of Famer and so you have influence beyond that.
- 2:15:54Speaker 1: And it's really cool to hear that you go around
- 2:15:56Speaker 1: and speak and and try to you know, advise and
- 2:15:59Speaker 1: mentor and speak to kids because you're you know, you're
- 2:16:03Speaker 1: Marshall Fulk, bro, you are Marshall Fulk.
- 2:16:05Speaker 3: Got to use the platform for you know, others, just
- 2:16:07Speaker 3: other than just making money. Yeah, you gotta make a
- 2:16:11Speaker 3: difference to.
- 2:16:11Speaker 1: In this world.
- 2:16:12Speaker 7: Man.
- 2:16:12Speaker 1: Question last one, hang on, hang on, right before he
- 2:16:14Speaker 1: goes first ballot Hall of Famer, What was it like
- 2:16:19Speaker 1: that knock on your door? However it happened. Were you
- 2:16:22Speaker 1: expecting or in your head or you like, I am
- 2:16:24Speaker 1: a first ballot Hall of Famer. So let's see how
- 2:16:26Speaker 1: this shakes up.
- 2:16:27Speaker 3: So I'm gonna tell you the story, all right, It's
- 2:16:29Speaker 3: just a true story. But this was before the knock.
- 2:16:34Speaker 3: This is like you gather with your with your family
- 2:16:37Speaker 3: and friends. They announced it, they brought you to the
- 2:16:40Speaker 3: super Bowl and then you would you would go meet
- 2:16:43Speaker 3: somewhere and they would do like a press conference wherever
- 2:16:46Speaker 3: that wherever that was for the people that was that
- 2:16:49Speaker 3: decided to come. And I was like, I was so sure,
- 2:16:57Speaker 3: Like I was like, there's no way that I'm not
- 2:17:00Speaker 3: getting in, no way, you know. That's all I kept thinking.
- 2:17:05Speaker 3: And my my agent did a deal with Anheuser Bush
- 2:17:11Speaker 3: being out. It was in Saint Louis at the time,
- 2:17:13Speaker 3: the headquarters and at the butt Light Hotel when the
- 2:17:17Speaker 3: butt Light when when when bud used to be when
- 2:17:20Speaker 3: an bush was the when butt was the beer, but
- 2:17:22Speaker 3: light was the beer. At the NFL, they had a
- 2:17:25Speaker 3: hotel like the bottom floor. I mean, we packed it
- 2:17:29Speaker 3: with two three hundred people that's there, you know, and
- 2:17:33Speaker 3: we're watching and I'm and I'm standing and as they
- 2:17:36Speaker 3: come on and they're getting ready to call the names
- 2:17:40Speaker 3: the first time ever, I thought, what if they don't
- 2:17:43Speaker 3: call my name. I'm sitting there, like, what if they
- 2:17:47Speaker 3: don't call my name?
- 2:17:49Speaker 1: Like we just got all these people here at the
- 2:17:51Speaker 1: people here.
- 2:17:53Speaker 3: I mean, and when I think back, I'm like, man,
- 2:17:55Speaker 3: that's like somebody saying no running away at the altar.
- 2:18:00Speaker 12: You know.
- 2:18:00Speaker 3: I'm like I'm thinking to myself, oh my god, what
- 2:18:03Speaker 3: if they don't call my name.
- 2:18:05Speaker 2: You start living tactically like on all the exits, like
- 2:18:07Speaker 2: where's the easiest way out of here if they don't
- 2:18:08Speaker 2: call my name?
- 2:18:09Speaker 3: Yeah, try to figure out yeah. And then man, like
- 2:18:12Speaker 3: three names in they said my name, I was like.
- 2:18:17Speaker 1: Oh my god, Yeah, I got in your head too much.
- 2:18:19Speaker 1: Ooh man.
- 2:18:20Speaker 3: And from there, from there, literally they wherever you're at
- 2:18:26Speaker 3: because you tell you got to tell them where you're
- 2:18:27Speaker 3: gonna be. Car pulled up, takes me to the place,
- 2:18:31Speaker 3: take me to the place where they're doing the interview,
- 2:18:33Speaker 3: and on the ride, like your football life is literally
- 2:18:37Speaker 3: playing in your head from your literally coach, your high
- 2:18:41Speaker 3: school coach. Things that people taught you, things like how
- 2:18:45Speaker 3: many people had been on this journey with you to
- 2:18:48Speaker 3: end up, you know, in this place, like like hold
- 2:18:53Speaker 3: on wait, like there's at the time, like there's only
- 2:18:57Speaker 3: two hundred and like six, like two hundred and seventy
- 2:19:01Speaker 3: five of these got and I'm one of them, Like
- 2:19:04Speaker 3: are you kidding me?
- 2:19:05Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 2:19:06Speaker 3: Man, like that that like it starts to dawn on
- 2:19:08Speaker 3: you regardless of how confident you are, you look at it,
- 2:19:12Speaker 3: like damn right, that's you know that, that's that's pretty
- 2:19:16Speaker 3: damn neat.
- 2:19:17Speaker 1: It's forever, I mean.
- 2:19:18Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, you know, and that's it, like in reality,
- 2:19:23Speaker 3: that's all we want to do is be remembered, like
- 2:19:25Speaker 3: right and now to know that, now, to know forever
- 2:19:31Speaker 3: generations can go identify with me as their relative or
- 2:19:35Speaker 3: you know like like that's and there's a place.
- 2:19:39Speaker 1: Yeah, Ohio, man, thank you so much.
- 2:19:42Speaker 3: It's all good fellowship.
- 2:19:43Speaker 1: Yeah, it's all good man.
- 2:19:44Speaker 2: Sometimes appreciate you making the time.
- 2:19:45Speaker 1: Man.
- 2:19:46Speaker 6: This is right on.
- 2:19:49Speaker 4: Man.
- 2:19:49Speaker 1: That was awesome. Any at
