- 0:23chickens. Hey everybody.
- 0:29Good morning from the When's the last time that you use the
- 0:34phrase? Well, I'll do that.
- 0:36When whatever that may be. You know, we are constant.
- 0:41We can substitute any word in there.
- 0:42But we're constantly saying, well I'll get to that when or
- 0:45I'll do that when and we put things off and we wait, it's
- 0:49like, oh, I'll get a puppy when we do this or I will, you know,
- 0:55sit down and take the time to read a book when I finished it
- 0:58at a de whatever you to slot in there.
- 1:02I think it's become too commonplace for us to constantly
- 1:07be saying to ourselves. Well, I'm going to just put it
- 1:10till here or I'll do it there. I'll take the vacation when this
- 1:14happens. Now, sometimes you have to do
- 1:16that jokingly, I say this because my son just said, oh, he
- 1:19wants to go on this trip and he and my son is not a
- 1:22fantastically well, versed eater.
- 1:25He very much likes. His simple food, not that I feed
- 1:29him like Add food at all. But he is one of these kids that
- 1:33likes cheese and meat. He just does not love
- 1:36vegetables. I mean, me getting a banana into
- 1:38him as a big deal and I have to push for it every day.
- 1:42He's just never been that guy. And I know he'll eventually be
- 1:45that guy. So, I'm patient because
- 1:48everybody turns around at some point.
- 1:50I've only met one person in my life who was still a, grown
- 1:53adult man and could only eat, you know, macaroni and cheese
- 1:57with hot dogs in it. And that was interesting.
- 2:00But that's another story. So he asked me if we could go on
- 2:05vacation and I said, well, I can't take you to that
- 2:08particular place that you want to go on vacation because you
- 2:11don't eat a variety of foods. And when we get over there,
- 2:15they're going to have foods that you don't recognize.
- 2:17So you're going to have to eat other Foods.
- 2:20So we can go on that vacation when and then you know, you
- 2:24decide to eat. And I heard myself saying it and
- 2:26I was like, wow, how many times do we do that?
- 2:29And it's legitimate and Many times do we do it that?
- 2:31It's just completely, you know, ridiculous way to hold ourselves
- 2:36off. We have to realize that when we
- 2:38pull that card and we start to talk about it, we have to be
- 2:41careful because most of the time it's not a legitimate excuse.
- 2:47It's not something that's real. It's a made-up excuse that just
- 2:51says well you know I've put myself into this box that is
- 2:58holding me back for instance. I think it's like, I'll be happy
- 3:02when I get this done. That phrase.
- 3:04Oh my God. I can't tell you how much I hear
- 3:06that come out of people's mouths.
- 3:08I hear when I'm not even coaching, I can hear it.
- 3:12When I heard it the other day, was I'm in the store.
- 3:14I was shopping with for stuff from my son for him to go
- 3:18camping and all of a sudden I heard this woman say, well I'll
- 3:21be happy when you're done Dada to the her husband partner,
- 3:25whatever he was. And I thought to myself, well
- 3:28this is such a chronic problem. It's everywhere.
- 3:32We tell ourselves that we tell other people that and there's no
- 3:35way to win around those comments.
- 3:37If you're if you're saying I'm going to delay my happiness
- 3:41until this takes place or I'm going to delay this trip or
- 3:46whatever it might be until this. So you have to decide.
- 3:50First of all is it legitimate in my case?
- 3:53I stand by, it was legitimate. But I've done it myself a
- 3:56million times where it's not legitimate.
- 3:58I'll be happy when I get this Garden.
- 4:00I shall be happy when these grow this way.
- 4:02I'll be happy when I have this, you know, thing done in my
- 4:06chicken coop that I want to do, but the truth is, I can be happy
- 4:10anyway. The truth is I don't have to
- 4:12wait for any of that to happen. I can just choose happiness and
- 4:16I say this often and I want to drill this into you guys.
- 4:20You don't have to be happy when you can be happy anyway.
- 4:26Despite everything that's going on, you can be happy, I have
- 4:30met. Many, many, many, many people in
- 4:32my life, very blessed through all my work at Tony Robbins to
- 4:36meet many people who had challenges that some of us will
- 4:39never ever face. Most of us will never ever faced
- 4:42and those people were happy anyway.
- 4:45They just chose Joy, they chose happiness, they chose love, they
- 4:49chose all these awesome ways to be and they certainly had no
- 4:53reason to. They could have just stayed the
- 4:55way that they were. They could have stayed the way
- 4:57that they were miserable. And You know down on themselves
- 5:02down on life but you know what, they didn't what they did was
- 5:05they said I'm just going to be happy and I'll deal with all
- 5:08this crap. Anyway and for me it was such a
- 5:12great lesson and reminder that we have to choose it.
- 5:16We must choose it. We must choose to find the joy.
- 5:20We must choose to do the things that are difficult to do which
- 5:25is choosing that in spite of everything else and not saying
- 5:28I'm going to delay it. Till this happens, why would we
- 5:33delay happiness? Why would we delay Joy?
- 5:35Why would we put a delay on anything wonderful in our life?
- 5:38Why not just go ahead and say, you know what, I'm just going to
- 5:42do it. I'm just going to have it.
- 5:43I'm going to put it out there for myself because I know how
- 5:46important it is. I think it's a worthwhile
- 5:50Endeavor to push yourself and say no I'm not going to postpone
- 5:55anything anymore. That causes me to not find what
- 6:00I'm looking. Looking for, I'm going to go out
- 6:02there and I'm going to push myself whether it's happiness or
- 6:04Joy, or, you know, love or saying, hey, I've always wanted
- 6:09to jump in and do this. I've always wanted to try it.
- 6:11If there's something that you've always wanted to try to do like
- 6:13play the guitar, oh, I'll do that.
- 6:14When I retire, trust me, you don't want to wait because you
- 6:17don't know. If you'll ever have the gift of
- 6:19retirement, you don't know if you'll ever have the gift of the
- 6:22next phase because life is full of uncertainties.
- 6:25So why, wait, why postpone things?
- 6:27Why not just push yourself to the place of saying.
- 6:31You know whether it's the small things or the big things going
- 6:34to ask myself why am I postponing this?
- 6:37Is it legitimate or not? Stop postponing and find it.
- 6:41Put yourself out there because I promise you you don't want to be
- 6:44the person who says, at the end of their life.
- 6:46I wish I had because that sucks. All right, my friends.
- 6:50I will see you tomorrow. Take care and have a very
- 6:53blessed day. Bye.
