- 0:11Hello friends, it's Sean here. It's a Tuesday, it's the 10th of
- 0:16March, and it's great to have your company.
- 0:18Thank you for inviting me in because today is the day that we
- 0:22are going to finish reading this fascinating and wonderful and
- 0:25insightful little book of prophecy called Hosea.
- 0:30And the last part of Hosea really is this chapter of hope.
- 0:34It's a brief chapter. There's only 9 verses long, but
- 0:37it is God calling his people back to him and saying how he
- 0:42will love them and how they will flourish when they choose to
- 0:46return, repent and be his people once more.
- 0:50Oh, this is beautiful. This this poetry of restoration.
- 0:55So let's enjoy it together. Show we're friends.
- 0:57Let's read together Hosea chapter 14.
- 1:11Return, O Israel, to the Lord your God, for your sins have
- 1:16brought you down, but your confessions and return to the
- 1:20Lord. Say to him, forgive all our sins
- 1:23and graciously receive us so that we may offer you our
- 1:28praises. Assyria cannot save us, nor can
- 1:32our war horses. Never again will we say to the
- 1:35idols we have made. You are our gods.
- 1:39No, in you alone do the orphans find mercy.
- 1:44The Lord says, Then I will heal you of your faithlessness.
- 1:49My love will know no bounds, for my anger will be gone forever.
- 1:56I will be to Israel like a refreshing dew from heaven.
- 2:01Israel will blossom like the Lily.
- 2:04It will send roots deep into the soil like the Cedars in Lebanon.
- 2:09Its branches will spread out like beautiful olive trees, as
- 2:14fragrant as the Cedars of Lebanon.
- 2:17My people will again live under my shade.
- 2:21They will flourish like grain and blossom like grapevines.
- 2:26They will be as fragrant as the wines of Lebanon.
- 2:31O Israel, stay away from idols. I am the one who answers your
- 2:37prayers and cares for you. I am like a tree that is always
- 2:41green. All your fruit comes from me.
- 2:46Let those who are wise understand these things.
- 2:50Let those with discernment listen carefully.
- 2:53The paths of the Lord are true and right, and righteous people
- 2:58live by walking in them. But in those paths, sinners
- 3:03stumble and fall. Our Lord, let us always
- 3:16remember. Let us always know, just as you
- 3:20said through your prophet Hosea, that it's you and you alone who
- 3:25answers our prayers. It's you and you alone who cares
- 3:29for us. And all of our fruit comes from
- 3:33you. All of the good things in our
- 3:36life are gifts from you. All of the blessings we enjoy
- 3:40are blessings that you pour on us.
- 3:45You are our wonderful providing God.
- 3:49Thank you for providing all these things for us.
- 3:53Thank you for blessing us so lavishly, and thank you for
- 3:59giving us your Son. Thank you for Jesus who taught
- 4:03us about your heart of kindness and compassion and love and
- 4:08mercy to make you relatable, to make you a God.
- 4:13We can truly know and know you. We do and love you.
- 4:18We do our wonderful God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
- 4:25Amen.
