- 0:00How is it not a penalty? It was worse than the one that
- 0:02McGuire gave away. OK, it's just a bottle job.
- 0:06I'm having a little run. I saw like Arsenal fans leaving
- 0:09after 85 minutes and that makes no sense.
- 0:12I'm planning to hopefully win this.
- 0:13I'm going to stay in the stadium for the celebration.
- 0:15I'm going to have some bad afterwards.
- 0:17How are we, fellow Reds? And welcome to this latest match
- 0:20review of the game against Bournemouth on Friday with
- 0:23myself, Span and Chaz. As always, if you subscribed,
- 0:27thank you very much. If not, please subscribe or
- 0:30follow on whatever platform you're watching or listing on,
- 0:33whether that's YouTube, Spotify, Apple, and now we're on all the
- 0:37socials as well. So please, please follow us as a
- 0:40fellow red to make sure that you don't miss a thing.
- 0:44Jazz. We've waited a few days since
- 0:47since the game for different reasons.
- 0:50I think we're a little bit disappointed about the result,
- 0:52but now we've kind of seen the weekend.
- 0:54Not too bad is my overriding feeling.
- 0:57How about you? Yeah.
- 0:58So obviously we'll get into the game itself, but very frustrated
- 1:02after that game on on Friday, missed opportunity.
- 1:05And I was worried that, yeah, our rivals are going to close in
- 1:08on us, but they're sitting here now, like, pretty positive.
- 1:12Like we gain points on most of our rivals.
- 1:14So yeah, like, it's definitely changed my perspective on the
- 1:19result and how I'm feeling going to this gigantic break.
- 1:22I don't feel quite as depressed as I would have done if we'd got
- 1:27the draw and everyone else in one.
- 1:28And they did all close the gap. So yeah, I'm feeling better
- 1:30about it. I'll get into why I'm still
- 1:32frustrated because, again, I thought we did pretty well.
- 1:34So yeah, I think you'll probably agree as well.
- 1:37Big time, big time. I think we're recording this on
- 1:40on the Monday, but if we'd have recorded this on the Friday
- 1:43straight after the game, I think, yeah, from our messages
- 1:46to each other, we were both a little bit like, you know,
- 1:49missed opportunity and a shame. But then, yeah, obviously
- 1:53fantastically Liverpool lose 2 on at Brighton and Chelsea.
- 1:59Yeah, Danny Welbeck. Well, let me just touch on that
- 2:02as well. So I did some fantasy football
- 2:05sabotage, which you should be grateful for, Chaz, because I
- 2:08basically chucked 3 Liverpool players in.
- 2:10I chucked in Virgil Frimpong and Swazilai.
- 2:14I did the same. Did you?
- 2:17Yeah, I had Virgil. I can never say his name.
- 2:19Slobber's Lie. And I can't say his name either.
- 2:29I got him in and they all did a rubbish so ideal.
- 2:32Yeah, yeah. And guess who I took out of my
- 2:35team? Danny Welbeck.
- 2:38I did. Yes, I did.
- 2:39Yes, I did. So absolute sabotage for me for
- 2:43fantasy Premier League but very happy.
- 2:45United fans appreciate your efforts.
- 2:48Thank you. Thank you very much, fellow
- 2:49Reds. You are welcome.
- 2:50You're welcome. And then Chelsea got a funk.
- 2:53Three nil. Everton.
- 2:55Yeah. That's like I thought that,
- 2:57well, I think we said on the last pod that's that's a tricky
- 2:59game for Chelsea, especially after whatever's going to happen
- 3:02in the midweek when they got absolutely batted.
- 3:05Yeah. And you thought they'd have a
- 3:06response. But like teams like Everton can
- 3:10be a top team, top team. And but normally it's like a
- 3:13scrape, like a one nil or A-21 or like they did against this,
- 3:16that one nil. But like they battered them like
- 3:193 nil. Like David, Brent is probably
- 3:22going to be in trouble soon, isn't he?
- 3:25I think, yeah, you nailed. I think the pressure is really
- 3:27going to pile on him now, particularly after, you know,
- 3:29the Champions League stuff against PSG and you know how
- 3:32much they got thumped there. I think they're going to be in a
- 3:35little bit of bother. So good to see that.
- 3:38And then I hope this doesn't come.
- 3:40Yeah, I hope this doesn't come back to bite me.
- 3:42But obviously Villa did win 2 nil at home to West Ham, which
- 3:45is a bit of a shame, but again, going to tentatively say it is.
- 3:50But I just feel a little bit less worried about then than the
- 3:52likes of Liverpool and maybe even Chelsea.
- 3:54Is that fair? Yeah, yeah, I agree.
- 3:56Like you kind of expect them to beat West Ham at home.
- 4:02And I just think, I think obviously we said it last week,
- 4:05I think we'd happy for them to finish 5th or 4th and kick one
- 4:08of the other ones out. Yeah, But I'm not too worried
- 4:11about them going past us. I think, I think if they get
- 4:17kind of Champions League football, I think they'll just
- 4:19nip in. I don't think they'll be kind of
- 4:21coming third. I think we'll keep seeing like
- 4:23the drop off and that we have been seeing.
- 4:25So I just don't think they're quite as good of us.
- 4:28But I guess we said it the other day like they got McGinn back
- 4:31starting. He obviously scored, so he does
- 4:35make an impact. So maybe when they get more
- 4:36players back from injury they can put a run together and
- 4:39hopefully they will kind of come for for 5th and we keep that
- 4:43third spot. Yeah, no, I agree.
- 4:47I agree. You know, as long as Ollie
- 4:50Watkins doesn't just decide to start scoring again like she did
- 4:53against West Ham. I was, if I, if you had to ask
- 4:57me, you know, before the weekend to pick some team to lose and
- 5:00one of them had to win, I probably would have done it this
- 5:02way around. Yeah, exactly.
- 5:04I. Think fingers crossed, it looks
- 5:06like a decent decent point in the end.
- 5:08Doesn't keep some, keeps some distance.
- 5:09But diving, diving into the match, I'm not, I'm not sure
- 5:14how. We didn't really, really win it
- 5:15to be honest. Then I'm trying.
- 5:16Not to go I'm. Going to.
- 5:21Be that I am going to be that guy I am blaming.
- 5:23I know you want to be like, oh, I don't want to blame referees
- 5:26of AI and IA 100% want to blame the AI referees because like
- 5:31that was a joke, absolute joke. Like I'm fine with the Maguire
- 5:37being a penalty if the Ahmad one's a penalty.
- 5:41If anything, the Ahmad one was worse because there was two.
- 5:43He pulled him, then he pushed him with two hands.
- 5:46Like it doesn't matter that they've obviously done it
- 5:50because they've already given United a penalty.
- 5:52So just bottled it's complete bottle job from the referee in
- 5:55VAR. And it's all more so that they
- 5:57didn't want to cancel out Bournemouth skull.
- 6:01So even more reason why they didn't look at it and give it
- 6:05penalty to overturn a goal and give a penalty, it's just a
- 6:08pretty bottle job. But you can't look at the rules
- 6:10of football like that. The rules of football should be
- 6:12this is the rule. Nothing should infer to
- 6:14interfere with that. OK, that's the rule.
- 6:16It's a foul or it's a penalty or it's a card.
- 6:18It's not. But yeah, I'm still getting
- 6:22rowed by it because I thought we actually played pretty well for
- 6:27most of that kind of point before, before the red card and
- 6:31we played some nice football and we weren't amazing, but we were
- 6:33we were pretty decent. I thought we desert, we created
- 6:36the better chances. I think they had all their shots
- 6:39pretty much after the red cards where we kind of when we were
- 6:43holding on. And so, yeah, in my head, it's
- 6:45the AR to United to I. Love it just straight in
- 6:51straight in. No, to be fair, yeah, I I
- 6:55thought we played really well as well.
- 6:57Obviously we're getting to the moments in a in a little bit,
- 6:59but I've seen like, I mean, you cannot see this guy.
- 7:02Can you go Goldbridge as well? Just like slamming how we
- 7:04performed. I think Gary Neville had some
- 7:07questionable comments earlier on as well.
- 7:08I literally was watching like some of that first half and and
- 7:12into the second-half as well, thinking we'll play some great
- 7:15stuff here, like how we were. Moving the ball, We're going to
- 7:17score here, yeah. Yeah, we were on the front for
- 7:20like passing between us. It was some of the best I've
- 7:22seen us play. So, so many people say in the
- 7:24opposite. I was like, what am I just
- 7:26roasting? Yeah, I think they just.
- 7:30Like there was so, so many kind of near misses.
- 7:34Like there was that one ball where Ahmad was basically
- 7:36through, but he had an awful first touch and then there was
- 7:40some good stays from the keeper, some really good blocks.
- 7:45I don't because they didn't get become like shots from Tigers
- 7:47and I don't know if they're people getting kind of dissuaded
- 7:52by the stats wasn't like that, but we were playing good
- 7:55football and and looked like good attacking football.
- 7:58I didn't think they were really creating much either and they
- 8:01had the odd spell here and there, but lemons made some
- 8:04decent saves but nothing like there was not like a barrage of
- 8:07one on ones and crazy world class sages happened to make.
- 8:12So yeah, I don't really get where the negativity was coming
- 8:14from in terms of our performance.
- 8:16I didn't see it like that. Right.
- 8:19Yeah. I thought we I think I think we
- 8:21would have won the game even if they had say it was 22 and
- 8:26McGuire stayed on. But I don't disagree that that
- 8:29was a red card because it was last man.
- 8:30But if that did happen, I think we still would have gone on to
- 8:34win. So I think we were playing the
- 8:36better football, but I think we just got kind of, yeah,
- 8:39completely shafted by the refs essentially because it just,
- 8:42it's basically a three goal swing right from the Amazon
- 8:45where we should have scored and then we should have been tuned a
- 8:49lot and that one got cancelled out.
- 8:50It's yeah. Yeah, I was having a little
- 8:55think about over the weekend as well, trying to digest our
- 8:57result and then when I saw Liverpool's come through in
- 8:59Chelsea as well, I was thinking Premier League's hard, isn't it?
- 9:03Is I think part of it because obviously we've been United fans
- 9:06for a while as well and we remember a time when we just win
- 9:09every week, you know what I mean?
- 9:10And obviously not, we've not been that team for a long time.
- 9:13But even if you look at the top of the table now as well with
- 9:15like Arsenal and City battling it out, it's it's a point away
- 9:20at Bournemouth who are not getting beat like actually a
- 9:23decent point when you look around the Premier League.
- 9:27I think sometimes now we've just got to change our thinking
- 9:30around A, the Premier League is totally different to what it
- 9:33used to be. So there were some teams that
- 9:35were just there for the taking. Weren't in most weeks.
- 9:38Yeah, yeah. And then B, we just win all the
- 9:40time. And so I still go into games now
- 9:43with that mentality thinking when Man United, anything other
- 9:46than a win is bad. And don't you still want to keep
- 9:50that And you want to keep that focus on wins and look at the
- 9:52record that Carrick's had. No, since he started it's been
- 9:55very good. But Premier League's tough and I
- 9:58think we're finding it and you all get into the moment.
- 10:00So we'll definitely like pick out some of this VAR stuff
- 10:02because I'm with you, Jazz. But just an overriding feeling
- 10:05around this weekend a little bit, just a bit of a the Premier
- 10:09League stuff. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 10:11Well, look at but that's I think born for unbeaten and I don't
- 10:14know if that was 10 or 11 now, but it shows.
- 10:18And then what I think that pretty much bang on the middle
- 10:20mid table. So like there's so many good
- 10:25players in the league now. It's only like the Burnley's and
- 10:27then the Wolves and even they've had a bit of research.
- 10:29They're the teams you kind of get beaten every week, but
- 10:31everyone else can kind of you're full of Mr. Brentford's everyone
- 10:34Everton, like Forest can turn up.
- 10:38There's there's no real easy games within the odd like the
- 10:42Burnley's. And even then they they kind of
- 10:44battled. So yeah, I agree completely.
- 10:47Like, yeah, reframing it particularly retrospectively,
- 10:50like, yeah, a decent point, especially with the way things
- 10:53have panned out over the weekend.
- 10:56With the context, yeah, yeah, but not our predictions of our
- 11:00our bets went just so the first time this this round we made
- 11:05some predictions and we also put just a couple of quid behind it
- 11:08just for a bit of fun. So you said to one win Cesco
- 11:12Cunha, Evan Nielsen, obviously you're nearly right and you have
- 11:15an Easel Nielsen thing as he as he went through on goal and I
- 11:19said two nil Sesko and I suggested a Harry McGuire
- 11:24moment. And now I feel bad because he
- 11:26definitely has a moment, just not the moment I hoped for.
- 11:31Well, I think, I think most people on TV, when I was
- 11:33watching on TV in the stadium, I think thought Harry did get the
- 11:36goal because he celebrated like he scored but obviously didn't
- 11:40touch it. So fair play to me.
- 11:44And then, yeah, you jinxed them into a red card.
- 11:45So nice one. I did jinx him.
- 11:48Yeah. We had a little moment, then we
- 11:49went when I thought it's God, there's a lot of.
- 11:50I get it. And I was like, no way.
- 11:53I'm like that. What was it, that World Cup
- 11:55octopus? So you can just, like, predict
- 11:57stuff. What was.
- 11:58Yeah. Yeah.
- 12:01So was it? Was it Paul?
- 12:03Then I thought I might be dreaming.
- 12:04Put in the comments, Put it in the comments.
- 12:07If you remember, the octopus was even an octopus.
- 12:08I can't even remember anymore. How was an octopus was that?
- 12:12I thought I was that guy and turns out I was the absolute
- 12:14grim Reaper instead. And it's not not getting the
- 12:18goal and a red card. So my sabotage worked on
- 12:22Liverpool and slightly sabotaged the Guire.
- 12:24So this is a public apology from from me, which is a shame, which
- 12:29is a shame. And then yeah, we'll get into
- 12:31the lineup. So I feel like I'm holding you
- 12:32back like an aggressive dog itch as like getting you into the AR.
- 12:35But we'll get to it, I promise. But thoughts on thoughts on the
- 12:38lineup so Unchained from United? Any surprises?
- 12:43Yeah, I just, I just don't think in Brema has been playing well
- 12:46enough to keep getting the stats, especially when Cesco has
- 12:50been scoring. So that was the one again, I
- 12:52think Cesco should have started. I think he should have come on
- 13:00sooner as well. So yeah, I just think, I think
- 13:06Steven Harrison, he mentioned it, if there's like he keeps
- 13:10producing his analogies, he keeps producing the same
- 13:13homework for the say for different tests and you need to
- 13:17change like for English tests you need to do different to a
- 13:19maths test. Now I feel like I kind of agree.
- 13:21It's like obviously you can't make a lot of changes because we
- 13:23don't have the squad depth, but you've got to.
- 13:27I just think, I just don't think I'm form wise.
- 13:30Cesco has been playing great and Boma hasn't.
- 13:31So make change and I don't see really why this game required.
- 13:38It's not like Cesco's a lump and can't run and doesn't make runs
- 13:42in behind. It's not like he complete
- 13:43changes the way we play. He makes us slightly more
- 13:46direct, but I think again, we're putting crosses into no one.
- 13:49So yeah, that's that was my main frustration with it.
- 13:51Everything else kind of as expected.
- 13:53But I think I think Cesco should have started.
- 13:55I think he should start against Leeds as well.
- 13:58In 2029, when we play our next game off, that's how it.
- 14:02Yeah, yeah, if he's, if he's still alive.
- 14:07But I, I totally agree with you, actually.
- 14:09The thing with Cesco is you can do it all.
- 14:11So it's not, it's like you say, it's not like you've got some
- 14:13big, you know, slow forward up that you have to kind of use
- 14:16sparingly as well. So yeah, it's let's get into
- 14:19that a little bit. But I also felt the same.
- 14:21And again, it's that Harry Hindsight come in to come in to
- 14:25play. But yeah, it's an interesting
- 14:27one. And now I will unleash the Hound
- 14:30of Chaz and let you get in some of the moments.
- 14:33I think one of the first ones that kind of stood out for me
- 14:35was Hamas. Love again, lovely, better play
- 14:39goal bridge again, some nice football.
- 14:41I don't know if you saw it, but and then Kunia put Ahmad
- 14:44basically through on goal. Why is he taking it on his left
- 14:47foot? Such a bad touch.
- 14:49And yeah, I don't know, he didn't need to either.
- 14:52He had quite a lot of space and to take it on to his right and
- 14:56still have a good angle to take the shot.
- 14:58And yeah, it's really frustrating because that was a
- 15:01really good play as well. It wasn't just like a there's
- 15:03quite a bit of good interplay before that in the counter.
- 15:09So yeah, really, really annoying.
- 15:12But I think I'm at again, as the game overall showed a lot more
- 15:16than Brian did. He's just not quite getting the
- 15:19finish at the moment. He's just maybe it's just one
- 15:23goal or one assistant will unleash him for the rest of the
- 15:25season. But I think his application and
- 15:29his kind of wing play has been much better.
- 15:32So yeah, frustrating that he didn't obviously convert and it
- 15:37was a bad touch, but I think overall he played pretty well.
- 15:41I'd. Agree yeah, he's close
- 15:44controlled as well as amazing. So when you just get control
- 15:46like that, you just think, wow, that's complete wrong foot you
- 15:49choosing. But always a lovely, lovely bit
- 15:52of play. And then there was there was
- 15:53some more actually not long after and there was that
- 15:56interchange. Then he sent download down the
- 15:57line. He did a nice cross back, yeah
- 16:00Bruno with obviously a great controlled finish and to be fair
- 16:03keeper, which he doesn't you and saves your feet on the line.
- 16:08Yeah, yeah. Charlie's fish.
- 16:10Yeah. Did you respect that one?
- 16:13Always respect to save a defeat, which is why I love the hair.
- 16:16The hair so much. Yeah, like a chance.
- 16:19OK. You can't really expect Bruno to
- 16:21do much different. There it was.
- 16:23It was a good save. Like, I guess more power or some
- 16:26more that maybe would have scored.
- 16:28But it can't really argue with Bruno's finish.
- 16:34Agreed and to bring the fellow Reds up to speed.
- 16:36Charles and I used to play in a 5A side team in Manchester and
- 16:41Charles Rosau our number one, and he just refused to use his
- 16:45hands basically the whole time. You can't.
- 16:48Use your hands when you got 2 feet.
- 16:52And it didn't start too well, but then it actually got really
- 16:55good and he just was saving all sorts with his feet.
- 16:58Yeah, for the record, I wasn't a goalkeeper to begin with.
- 17:01I just did it because I wasn't one of the better players, but
- 17:05the other person who is worse than me would be even worse than
- 17:09what? Is it going to be even worse
- 17:10than reading gold? So.
- 17:12But there was an evolution. I got much better.
- 17:15Yeah, but on this? Podcast Chaz will be the
- 17:18goalkeeping expert, so just get ready for that.
- 17:22Get ready for that. And then yeah, I think most of
- 17:25the the bigger moments came in the second-half.
- 17:28But like we said, just generally I felt that United were the
- 17:31better team. You know, Bournemouth definitely
- 17:33had a spell and in the last 10 particularly, but I thought it
- 17:38was all right. I actually quite enjoyed enjoyed
- 17:40the first half and I think. I messaged you saying we
- 17:42started. I think I'm actually saying that
- 17:44we started with pace and energy and we're playing good football.
- 17:47And I think even, I mean, I think I mentioned even Kobe was
- 17:52we saw some of those turns again in tight spaces that created
- 17:54space and I think you maybe even stabilized counter attacks.
- 17:59So I was like really happy with that as well.
- 18:00So I, yeah, I don't really get where all the negativity was
- 18:03coming from. And so I thought we'd started
- 18:06better than we had done in most of the other recent games.
- 18:10So. Totally agree, totally agree.
- 18:13I really like him watching junior juice bits as well and
- 18:15then second-half he's better magic that jazz.
- 18:19That is wonderful. I literally yeah, down the left
- 18:23and that little cutting into the box and you know, the defenders
- 18:26just absolutely been done and as no, she's just literally
- 18:29dragging him back by sure. He's so I think Junior was
- 18:34probably our best player and probably has been, other than
- 18:37Bruno, our best player of the last few games as well.
- 18:40Like when since Brian's kind of dropped off, Kunis really kind
- 18:43of stepped in and said, OK, I'll take pick up the mantle.
- 18:46And yeah. And yeah, he was doing that all
- 18:50game. I think maybe I don't know if
- 18:51he's that slight tweak from Carrick, but it's like he's
- 18:55starting wider then he comes in and before I think he was
- 18:59starting too narrow and getting kind of caught in the mid, but
- 19:02now he's kind of out on the wing.
- 19:03And then they still find it's creating because obviously he's
- 19:06creating scoring goals and winning penalties.
- 19:09But I think maybe that's a slight tactical tweak that he's
- 19:12getting used to and it's working now.
- 19:13And I think, yeah, he didn't, he was great again yesterday.
- 19:16He did quite a lot of runs. He was actually terrorizing that
- 19:20human has like, I think he was just like, Oh my God, just leave
- 19:23me alone. Because there was one that
- 19:24obviously got the one for the the penalty and then there was
- 19:26another one maybe like 5 minutes after that.
- 19:29I think he was another one where he basically terrorized him and
- 19:33us again. So yeah, I think he's been
- 19:36really good and he'd probably deserve to get the win on on
- 19:39Friday. Yeah, he had him on toast in he
- 19:41and I just think, I think we've mentioned it on a previous pod,
- 19:45but just feels like Bruno has found a kindred spirit in Kunya
- 19:49and did it. There was 1 moment they did down
- 19:51a lot down the line together kind of a little interchange
- 19:54just went past and I thought that is so good to watch.
- 19:58So just to. Great players who just full of
- 20:01confidence and full of ability. Just going at it.
- 20:04I just love to see it, love to see it and then we take it for
- 20:07granted, mate. But Bruno slighted the penalty,
- 20:09as per Yeah. Yeah, yeah, he's missed.
- 20:13Has he missed 2 this season? Something like that.
- 20:16I think yeah. But yeah, like who's wise?
- 20:21That was Step 3 ones and they're kind of the one step which
- 20:24always scares me a little bit, those penalties.
- 20:26But obviously I'm not a world class footballer.
- 20:27So I could I could have been a world class footballer if I was
- 20:33really good at football, but I wasn't.
- 20:36So that's the only reason I'm not professional footballer.
- 20:42Yeah. Like I never really doubt him
- 20:44when it comes to pens, especially at the moment in the
- 20:46confidence, in the form he's in. So yeah, I'm very confident of
- 20:49him sticking up. I agree.
- 20:52Yeah, I was happy to get the goal, but right, go at it, Jazz.
- 20:56Then 67 minutes, Ahmad brought down in the box.
- 21:00You've mentioned it briefly, but.
- 21:02Yeah, like how? Genuinely, how is it not a
- 21:05penalty? Like he was worse than the one
- 21:09that McGuire gave away? OK, she does a bottle job from
- 21:13the ref slash the the referee was right in front of it as
- 21:16well. She had a great view of it and
- 21:18then I don't know how they are didn't give it.
- 21:20I think it literally is because of the penalty he gave just
- 21:24before. But it is a penalty.
- 21:25Like, oh, it's not a penalty, fine, it's not a penalty.
- 21:29And then the Maguire ones not a penalty.
- 21:30If we see the way you do, it doesn't matter which way, If
- 21:34there's consistency within that game, then it's either a penalty
- 21:38for Ahmed and McGuire or for almost one or McGuire or is a no
- 21:44penalty griever. Either way, there's no
- 21:46consistency there. So they've just interpreted the
- 21:48interpreted the rules differently when like a 10
- 21:52minute difference. Yeah.
- 21:55So it's just, and also I guess from if we want to be critical
- 22:00of United, then we obviously were pissed off that we weren't
- 22:04given the penalty. And I think we didn't kind of, I
- 22:07don't know what it was like 4 seconds later or 14 seconds
- 22:09later they scored and we probably weren't defending well
- 22:14enough and gave Christie too much space on on the edge of the
- 22:18box. And I think that's probably
- 22:19because they were still because as soon as the goal went in,
- 22:21they weren't like annoyed at each other for the goal gain.
- 22:24They were basically like looking at the ref, like where's the
- 22:25pen? Yeah, BAR.
- 22:27And now obviously actually frustrating thing.
- 22:29It's obviously cliche play to the whistle but it should have
- 22:34been a penalty, like oh it shouldn't have been a penalty
- 22:37and they want to either way, no consistency and it's an
- 22:39absolute. I think we've only made an
- 22:40official complaint but you know what PGMOL will say they'll just
- 22:45be like Oh no, it's it's fair and they're never going to admit
- 22:48they're wrong or sometimes they have done in the season but I
- 22:50don't think they will for our case.
- 22:53So yeah, it's just OK. I don't think it's like a bias
- 22:56against United or just a bottle job because they don't want to
- 23:00give a team away from home 2 penalties in. 10 minutes, Yeah,
- 23:05Carrick was livid as well, which is which is rare.
- 23:07And I think you touched them. There's a few things that go
- 23:10into it and I think they all have an impact.
- 23:11So it's we'd already had a penalty and for some reason it
- 23:15feels like refs don't like to give multiple penalties, which
- 23:18is nonsense because if it's a penalty, it's a penalty and I
- 23:22just don't understand that. Yeah, as you say, extending the
- 23:25commentary, it went from that penalty through straight to
- 23:28Bournemouth scoring. So then VAR, I've got to
- 23:31probably look at it and think, oh, so we're kind of overturning
- 23:34a goal and given a penalty. Have we got the cojones to to do
- 23:39that? And they didn't.
- 23:41No, then they didn't and they didn't.
- 23:42So it's it's it's a mad one. It's a mad one to think it's but
- 23:45it's just I still trying to get my head around this consistency
- 23:50with foul outside the area and inside the area as well.
- 23:53It's like it shouldn't be this this big thing is and I falls
- 23:57like she backwards onto the ball like it's some dive.
- 24:01If he's diving, to be fair, yeah, he's he's passed him.
- 24:04He's literally passed him to shoot.
- 24:06Yeah, I think I got challenged by a mate who is not a
- 24:09Manchester United fan, I might add, to say was it a clear and
- 24:13obvious error from the referee? So is it the referee's fault or
- 24:17is it their as fault that they should have basically said it's
- 24:19a clear and obvious error, you've missed it again.
- 24:22I might have my tinted glasses on, but I do, I think it isn't.
- 24:25He's missed it. It's a It's a pen.
- 24:26Yeah, yeah, it's it's a pen or it's not all again, alright or I
- 24:31will go or he's not a pen and then the hammer guy.
- 24:33So whatever way around it is, the preferring is is horrendous
- 24:38in it. And it's, I think in my head is
- 24:42a pen. And then Harry Goyer wants a pen
- 24:44as well. And that's kind of what I'd be
- 24:47happy with. But to not give it it's yeah,
- 24:50it's a joke. And yeah, the goal they scored
- 24:53was it was a good goal, like really good finish, a good
- 24:55counter attack. But yeah, I was fuming with with
- 25:01with that. And obviously I've calmed down
- 25:03possibly now. Sounds like it.
- 25:07But to be fair, before we even really get to them right, we
- 25:10didn't really know the McGuire red card and pen was coming.
- 25:13But we obviously then score, which I thought was my my Harry
- 25:18Maguire goal. But obviously it was an own
- 25:21goal, Hill Hill header and I was, I was so happy.
- 25:24I thought, I thought we'd respond.
- 25:26We've got a bit I was going to mention it later, but I'll
- 25:27mention it now. We were.
- 25:28We've got a nice habit of kind of responding to adversity with
- 25:32a goal at the minute, which instead of.
- 25:34Conceding 2 more. Yeah, instead of crumbling.
- 25:38So, you know, I was gutted by that, that goal and obviously
- 25:41felt a grieved like you did to not get a penalty.
- 25:43But then for us to score and get a goal upon.
- 25:45Great. OK.
- 25:46And then I thought we were going to go to go on to go on to, I
- 25:49mean, in between as well, there was that strike from Scott,
- 25:52which was a great on to the bar. But we kind of we avoided that
- 25:56and we a little bit of luck there, to be fair.
- 25:58The fact that he comes off the bar on to Lammons and then yeah,
- 26:04Al for a corner. But I was feeling one thing.
- 26:07I must. Say about the, the the own goal
- 26:11is technically that's an assist for Bruno because it was Bruno's
- 26:15cross. So they didn't get the assist,
- 26:18which I think he should still get the assist because it's the
- 26:20other team who score it. He's still passed it.
- 26:22Yeah, but he doesn't get the assist, annoyingly, because that
- 26:25would have been #17 I think. Oh, yeah, yeah, that's a killer,
- 26:29isn't it? Because he still, he still made
- 26:30it. He still made it, yeah.
- 26:32He's still, yeah, he's still the last connection before it went
- 26:34in the net. But yeah, I checked.
- 26:38He didn't get it. But yeah, all right, let's focus
- 26:41on the actual the red card then, because we've mentioned it and,
- 26:44you know, in conjunction with the Ahmad one.
- 26:46But yeah, so a better flight from Bournemouth and then a.
- 26:50Nice, nice bit of football repair.
- 26:53Yeah, Creepy puts Evan Nielsen through and he's kind of passed
- 26:56McGuire and there's an arm out from McGuire.
- 26:58And as you said, we're not, we're not saying it's not a
- 27:01penalty and not a red card. It's just very tough when we
- 27:05just had one not given. Yeah, this spell of similar
- 27:08amount of contact. My noise for it is that the
- 27:12other, the, the Bournemouth one had two hands on Ahmad and
- 27:15that's not a penalty. And then that McGuire has one
- 27:18hand on him and he's obviously gone down very easily.
- 27:21About Evan Nielsen's like a bit of a lump and like there's no,
- 27:25he goes down very easily. And like, I guess maybe I'm I
- 27:28did as well. But yeah, there was like, I'm
- 27:31kind of happy. Like I'm fine.
- 27:32It's a penalty. Like if I was in isolation, fine
- 27:36penalty. Annoyingly, yeah.
- 27:38Red characters last man. But yeah, because you didn't get
- 27:41the other one. It's horseshit, Yeah.
- 27:47Andy Cole made a good play on Sky though, so in hindsight now
- 27:51obviously Evan Neilson's gone down, they've got a penalty,
- 27:54they've scored it, so it's fine. But why is Evan Neilson going
- 27:57down? He's literally passed McGuire
- 27:58like, and there's no way that that cut, there's no way that
- 28:01contacts bringing him down are enough to bring him down.
- 28:04So just go past him and score the goal yourself.
- 28:07Yeah, yeah, I think that's that's obviously an old school
- 28:12striker talking, right? That's yeah.
- 28:14Like he wants to score proper goals, especially if you're a
- 28:16goal scorer who didn't take penalties, which is like Andy
- 28:18Cole. He's like, well, isn't my chance
- 28:21to score. But obviously I don't think most
- 28:23strikers have that mentality these days.
- 28:26Again, I saw, I don't know if you saw the Harry Kane worldy
- 28:29from the week, kind of he could have gone down about three
- 28:32times, but he's one of the strikers.
- 28:34He wants to score score goals himself.
- 28:37But I think that's why he's a world class striker.
- 28:40And Evan Nielsen plays for former.
- 28:43And, you know, Andy Cole said it.
- 28:44He said he wouldn't even probably thought about it
- 28:46because you'd be so focused on I'm through, you know, so bang,
- 28:50because there's there's no way that McGuire has done enough
- 28:54there to actually bring him down.
- 28:56Like, say it's a penalty in today's game.
- 28:58And then, yeah, the red card just has to follow.
- 29:00Super annoying after kind of what happened and then creepy
- 29:05with a good pen. To be fair, he looks super
- 29:07nervous like I thought I would thought hello.
- 29:10And I keep saying it's been a couple of pens now and I've said
- 29:14I'd love to see lemons. Add this to his game where he
- 29:17becomes a bit of a panel. He's saving beast.
- 29:19We've not really. He's big in the goal, right?
- 29:21I thought he looked when I saw it and I saw Creepy looking a
- 29:24bit nervous. And then yeah, lemons like I
- 29:26was. Oh, he looks big.
- 29:27And then I'll see Spanks in. So yeah, I'm sure the saves
- 29:32will. The saves will come for lemons.
- 29:34Yeah, hope so. Hope so.
- 29:36And yeah, like you mentioned it before, but Cesco was brought on
- 29:39and on the 70 minute mark a little bit late and then we had
- 29:42to make some changes obviously because the red card.
- 29:43So Agate came on with Heaven as well and I did the 9 minutes
- 29:49divided time and Mount came on for Ahmad.
- 29:51But it was kind of at that point he just felt like.
- 29:55Yeah, yeah, I think you did. Like one of our friends message
- 30:00this Denise saying like, why aren't we doing what Newcastle
- 30:03didn't going to try and win the game with with Tim.
- 30:06But I think it's a bit different because the momentum has shifted
- 30:09so much and we didn't really have the players on the bench, I
- 30:16guess to to try and do that. I think there's also probably
- 30:20the issue and like, I don't think I think there was at one
- 30:23point where there was a potential counter attack from
- 30:26us, but the ball fallen to ugate.
- 30:28It was like maybe just inside that half and there's a cap,
- 30:32he's a ball, easy ball through to Cesco.
- 30:34Maybe we just didn't play it. And I think maybe if you'd
- 30:38brought someone on who could make that pass and maybe we
- 30:40could have nicked it or if that was Bruno's in possession at a
- 30:43time. But it was just that's the kind
- 30:45of this, this squad depth issue is like you bring him on and he
- 30:48again, didn't. I keep saying he didn't make any
- 30:50mistakes, didn't do anything terribly wrong, but he just
- 30:52doesn't have the skills needed to potentially turn that drawer
- 30:56into a 10 man victory. But I think there was like this
- 31:00one chance where he could have played the ball free, but he
- 31:02did. He even tried it and he got
- 31:04intercepted or he just passed it same way which way around it
- 31:07was. But I think that just shows the
- 31:09squad depth, particularly in midfield.
- 31:11As soon as Casimiro goes off, you just like, I think he goes
- 31:17off and you're like, OK, well, we're playing for a draw,
- 31:20basically, yeah. Yeah, I agree.
- 31:22I agree. Yeah, I'm dude bang on on Agate.
- 31:25I think he's just not that, you know, good player.
- 31:27He'll have a good career at some of the club.
- 31:29I think we just not that level that we needed.
- 31:31He's to challenge him for the title in terms of squad depth or
- 31:35impact when he kind of comes on. So yeah, so 22, like I said, you
- 31:41know, at the time it was more annoying in the wider context.
- 31:46You know, actually that point looks decent and like we say,
- 31:49Premier League's tough, Premier League's tough.
- 31:51So we'll take it in terms of individuals and player ratings
- 31:55who kind of stood out to each other.
- 31:58Kunya was probably my man of the match.
- 32:02I thought he played really well, look really dangerous.
- 32:04And so I don't think anyone really like massively Sean.
- 32:08Like no, there's no like 9 or 10s out of 10 or anything like
- 32:11that. Everyone, Well, I think Kobe
- 32:13showed some more flashes of what we were wanting from him and
- 32:16particularly on the well before all that kind of nonsense.
- 32:21I opened his body up, putting some passes in, kind of going
- 32:24past some players. I think he was looking good.
- 32:27So they're probably my 2 main kind of standouts from the game.
- 32:32Everyone else is probably like a bit like the other week,
- 32:35probably 6 sevens. Gosh, I don't think anyone had a
- 32:38howler. Even McGuire didn't have
- 32:39obviously the penalty. Super soft.
- 32:41I don't think anyone was awful. So that's probably my yeah, key
- 32:45key take out. Yeah, I agree.
- 32:48Yeah, I'd agree with that. Yeah.
- 32:49I loved, I loved watching Kunia. I thought it was really good,
- 32:53too far. I really enjoyed watching Scott
- 32:54as well, even though he's on the opposition side.
- 32:56I think he's a player, obviously I.
- 32:58Think have we been linked to him?
- 32:59I think we have. Yeah, a few times.
- 33:01A few times, yeah. And more recently as well.
- 33:03I just liked his attitude as well because obviously he just
- 33:06missed out on the England squad and there's a lot of chat about
- 33:09him getting in it and it was just a good sponsoring.
- 33:11So he's AI like I like that mentality and I liked him as a
- 33:15as a player. I think on the flip side you
- 33:18mentioned, I wouldn't say how, but I thought Castamero was a
- 33:21little bit quieter than he usually usually is.
- 33:25I think that's because of the yellow quite early on.
- 33:28I think as soon as he gets a yellow early in the I think he
- 33:30got it is in the first half we got that yellow.
- 33:31I think from then on he just, he loses that by an aggression
- 33:36because he probably knows he'll get that off.
- 33:37So I think maybe that if he gets the yellow card early, I think
- 33:42he always kind of goes into a shell a bit because he's just
- 33:44too scared to to to ruin it. And again, I think if we had a
- 33:49deeper squad, you'd probably just take him off because yeah,
- 33:53he does. He can't affect the game as
- 33:54much. And he and he, he's a red
- 33:56cardress. But then you've got you got it
- 33:59coming on. He's you're still better having
- 34:01a timid Casimiro versus a Ugati, I'd say.
- 34:06That's fair, that's fair, and you wish I want to give is just
- 34:09lamons. I just don't want to take this
- 34:12guy for granted and just the bits and pieces that he does.
- 34:15I really like the punch. He did as well during the game.
- 34:17Just really came out and took the player out and then just his
- 34:21feet. I swear that guy could play in
- 34:23midfield, but he was he had a couple of rogue long passes sent
- 34:27his way during the game and he just deals with it so well.
- 34:30So I thought he to me was a bit of a weird and a Tutu, but it
- 34:35was a contender for me as one of our best players.
- 34:38But again, in a great way. We are taking it for granted a
- 34:41little bit because he's just doing that job and how he is
- 34:45only 23, I have no idea. I think we've got an absolute
- 34:49gem there. I think I'm so excited for his
- 34:53future and he's just, it's brilliant.
- 34:55We've got a 23 year old angle, biggest club in the world, just
- 34:59doing it, looking composed with his feet, with everything.
- 35:01Of course you can add things and I hope you will in time, but
- 35:04loving, loving. But yeah, he was claiming.
- 35:08Again, I still kind of take note when he catches a cross or a
- 35:12corner because I'm just like, and that should be the standard.
- 35:15But he's. So he did that multiple times,
- 35:17particularly when it was towards the end where they were
- 35:20pressuring, pressuring and injury time.
- 35:24He caught a few crosses then as well.
- 35:26And he just like, yeah, I just think back and think Anan is
- 35:29flapping that or Bind is kind of flipping into the goal or
- 35:33something like that. And they just I just don't feel
- 35:34like that's ever going to. I'm sure he's going to make
- 35:36mistakes at some point. He will cost us a goal.
- 35:37But he is he's building. He's building it so much kind of
- 35:40good grace because he's just been so solid.
- 35:42And does that save in the first half coming?
- 35:44It's from like down to his near post really good save got
- 35:49downloads is near post and again, I just thought that's
- 35:53going in against an honor or binder.
- 35:56So yeah, really. Yeah, yes, like you said, solid.
- 35:59Yeah, but I'm agreed with you on one of the match.
- 36:02I thought you had a great game. You just like loads of moments,
- 36:05loads of creativity. Obviously that bit of magic to
- 36:09to win the penalty as well. So absolutely agree with you
- 36:12that on Cunyure is man of the match for this one.
- 36:17Quick thoughts on Bournemouth just generally.
- 36:20I think they're like a decent team really.
- 36:24Like I don't think they'll have very early next year because
- 36:29then you'll move to a bigger club probably.
- 36:31Spurs is my guest if they stay in the Premier League, which is
- 36:34probably going to go to. So yeah, I think they're a
- 36:38decent club. They play nice football.
- 36:41It's always quite fast plays like that.
- 36:43I guess that character shows it and they're quite direct and
- 36:45it's quite, quite a nice team to watch.
- 36:48I guess it's always just how can they hang on to their their
- 36:52better players like that creepy. He only joined the season.
- 36:57He's 19, but he's scored a decent amount of goals.
- 36:59And like we mentioned, Alex Scott like kind of held on to
- 37:03these people, but they're bit like Bermford.
- 37:05They seem to just always manage to replace anyone decent.
- 37:09They save sales, sorry. So yeah, I think a decent club
- 37:14and then everyone you worry about relegation, they're always
- 37:171. You think, could they push for
- 37:19Europa League qualification or Commerce League?
- 37:23Yeah, agreed, agreed. Well, yeah, we don't normally do
- 37:26trivia in the review, you normally use the preview, but
- 37:29I've got one for you. And as famously as rubbish
- 37:33music. But I'm going to call
- 37:34Bournemouth the hard FI of the Premier League.
- 37:38Why would that? Be the hard 5 because they had
- 37:40to bait. And the music one from you, very
- 37:47impressive, yeah, solid team mentioned a couple of players
- 37:50and just they premium with a record that you just had to beat
- 37:53them. And yeah, I think you've got to
- 37:55look at that point and just yeah, be a bit gutted and
- 37:57definitely robbed by VAR as you mentioned, but take it and move
- 38:01on. And I saw the sound sky from
- 38:04creepy. There's a teenager.
- 38:05So I've had nine goals and the next nearest teenager to him
- 38:08would was was 2 so much about yeah, I'm not heard a lot from
- 38:13him, but obviously take that penalty and that team as well.
- 38:17Maybe, maybe one to watch. Yeah, yeah.
- 38:22Positive for me. I mentioned one.
- 38:24I think it's a good point. It's probably what I'll say now.
- 38:27As we've mentioned, I really like this responding to, you
- 38:31know, conceding the goal thing. So I hope we can keep that, keep
- 38:34that going. How about you?
- 38:36Any other kind of positives that stood out for you?
- 38:39Yeah, I'd probably agree with the ones you said.
- 38:44And I think Kunia, basically what I'm hoping for is that you
- 38:50can get Brian and Cuna both playing well at the same time
- 38:53because so far they've and women's played really well and
- 38:56then Kun has been quiet and now Kuna's playing really well.
- 38:59We're very quiet like. But yeah, if those two can start
- 39:03playing well together, then attack gets even more kind of
- 39:07scary and effective. So yeah, CUNY was probably my
- 39:10main kind of positive from that game and he's kind of continued
- 39:13that ever less 3-4 games now. Yeah.
- 39:19On the flip side, in terms of improvements are negatives.
- 39:23It's we mentioned this, I think I mentioned this in the last
- 39:26part part around is our recruitment becoming a bit more
- 39:30obvious that it was kind of three, you know, that 352 system
- 39:33and the Brian thing not really working.
- 39:35It's just something that's given me a bit of a headache.
- 39:38I had a fault that crept in the other day, which I didn't like,
- 39:41and it was a little bit like, would I have preferred Semenyo
- 39:44over and Bueno? And that's not me discounting
- 39:47anything he's done for so far. And I hope this comes to buyers
- 39:49on the ass a little bit, But I just want to see how this works,
- 39:54like where Brian places in the team, because obviously we think
- 39:57Ahmad is a is a good player, right, and very good player.
- 39:59He's had some great moments united and he seems to offer a
- 40:02bit more down that right. And so just that's one thing
- 40:06that's concerning me around this.
- 40:07You know, where does emblem already fit?
- 40:09And you know, can he can he step up because Kunis stepped up, I
- 40:12think, because I had some over him, didn't I?
- 40:14So hopefully Brian answers my call and shoots me up.
- 40:19Yeah, yeah, same. Like he's my only real I I've
- 40:24been able to pick out massively negatively in the last kind of
- 40:28consistency over the last few games.
- 40:31So yeah, just one more of the Brian that was there before the
- 40:35African Cup of Nations basically where he was kind of banging in
- 40:37goals and they said it's a different system.
- 40:40And yeah, hindsight maybe a proper kind of right winger or
- 40:47left winger in would have been a better choice.
- 40:50So I just think, obviously I'm a massive Cesco fan, so I just
- 40:54want him to be starting. So I think he deserves it, and I
- 40:57don't currently think Brian deserves to be starring in front
- 41:01of him. Yeah.
- 41:02So that's why I'm really hoping that Kirk maybe starts mixing it
- 41:07up a little bit more. We sort of play one or two games
- 41:10and yeah, I think we need to see it more often.
- 41:13Yeah, agreed, Agreed. So hopefully it proves us wrong.
- 41:16And yeah, I really liked him as a guy, as a character from what
- 41:19I've seen. And he's obviously got loads of
- 41:21ability and he's not really doing anything wrong.
- 41:23He just hasn't been doing enough.
- 41:26Yeah, exactly in the position that he's been playing.
- 41:29And I guess the other negative is McGuire missed his that one
- 41:32game against Leeds in 2029, wherever it is.
- 41:35Yeah. But I think Martinez, I think he
- 41:39might be back for that is what I'm hoping.
- 41:41Hopefully. It just sounds like he was.
- 41:43I think he's back training again.
- 41:45So in kind of two years time, he should be there for the.
- 41:50Game hopefully there's enough time to enough time to recover
- 41:54in the in between but yeah he's obviously he'll miss a game
- 41:58unless some madness comes through this appeal or whatever
- 42:01or this complaint I. Don't think so.
- 42:03I can't see, I can't see, I can't see it.
- 42:07Well, yeah, that was us. That was I think let's look at
- 42:10the some other fixtures. There's only really one to talk
- 42:13about before we talk about League Cup final and Spurs lost
- 42:16three nil at home to Forest. After you see all the stuff of
- 42:19them coming out around the bus and cheering about to win the
- 42:23lead stuff. Yes.
- 42:25I didn't want to listen to it, listen to it on the radio.
- 42:30And by our first half they were like battering them basically
- 42:37forests were like on the back foot that premised the whole
- 42:39first half. And then they just couldn't
- 42:41convert their their opportunities.
- 42:43And then forest did. And then beside one of these
- 42:45things where they got that goal right before half time, which is
- 42:47a nightmare. And then you just their heads
- 42:51was just gone. Like, yeah, it's they're so, so
- 42:55fragile, aren't they? So that was massive to lose at
- 42:58home. I don't know if I've not looked
- 42:59at the if he's been sacked yet, but surely he's on his way out?
- 43:07I haven't seen, I haven't seen. Yeah, it's a horrendous result
- 43:10for Spurs, a really good result for Forest and three nil at
- 43:14home. You know, after all that as well
- 43:16and knowing what's on the Lion is that, you know, there's an
- 43:20optic wasn't as well because they've had some decent results
- 43:22of weight and Liverpool and then athletic calls that he ended up
- 43:25winning that game in isolation and so things were looking up.
- 43:28Well, that just really sets them back, doesn't it?
- 43:31Yeah, I feel like generally a suicide crazy, but I genuinely
- 43:35think they should get like Harry Redknapp in like just he would
- 43:39like, but he'd like he's obviously like a tactician, mass
- 43:42technician, but he'll get everyone buzzing.
- 43:44The crowd would be buzzing because they weren't they.
- 43:47I just imagine the atmosphere next home game if Harry
- 43:49Redknapp's back in charge or it's what's why we're having
- 43:54games last night 7 or something like that.
- 43:56Like he probably just got the aura that could help, the kind
- 44:00of spares aura that could help turn it around and keep them up.
- 44:03But like, I'm pretty sure they've got some pretty tough
- 44:07pictures still. And even the teams that are in
- 44:11around them are kind of on more of an upturn than they are.
- 44:14So we called it whether it was now a month, 5 weeks ago that
- 44:17they might go down and it's looking, yeah, it's looking
- 44:20pretty, pretty likely now. Think Harry Kane and fancy an
- 44:24emergency loan to come back and just score a lot of goals to try
- 44:27and keep him up. I know he's he's on for
- 44:31Lewandowski's record if he scores.
- 44:34Yeah, he's on 50. Would he get 55?
- 44:36I think I'm guess we did. He's already on like 49 and done
- 44:39it in that 10 less games. So yeah, I think he's probably
- 44:42pretty happy drinking steins in Munich.
- 44:46Yeah, yeah, beautiful beer, beautiful beer.
- 44:49But already in times for Spurs and then the League Cup final
- 44:52yesterday, did you? Did you watch yet?
- 44:55I didn't again, I had it on the radio because I was doing stuff.
- 44:58So I listened to the game. The first half it felt like
- 45:03Arsenal were kind of more on top, not weren't creating much
- 45:08because it was kind of pretty even.
- 45:10But then second-half like, as you guess, just shows the was it
- 45:15like the master versus The Apprentice with Pep and Arteta?
- 45:19And he kind of basically shows I'm still the boss here.
- 45:21And he they just did him in the second-half, helped obviously by
- 45:28Arteta's stupidity and put in Keppa and Sederea.
- 45:32And he just kind of fumble with that goal.
- 45:35I saw that, saw the highlight to that goal.
- 45:38I mean, yeah, it's I only caught the second-half, but it was not
- 45:43a good look for Arsenal that second-half at risk and getting
- 45:45trolled by more hassle funds. Again, it's I understand.
- 45:50I understand this thing of like trying to give goalkeepers, you
- 45:54know, that an opportunity that the second place goalkeeper, the
- 45:57opportunity in the final if he's played through the tournament,
- 45:59but also like they haven't won anything.
- 46:02And so like and Ray is obviously a very, very good goalkeeper.
- 46:06And so sometimes you have to what is it to make an omelette?
- 46:10Some difficult decisions as a manager and obviously, you know,
- 46:13hindsight again. So Trafford playing looks all
- 46:16right, because city have won, but city have won a lot recently
- 46:19and you can take more of them Gamble's, but it just looks mad
- 46:22now. And what I saw a Kepler was
- 46:24awful. Yeah, on that goal that he's
- 46:25obviously spilled, but just generally as well, just anti
- 46:28football, just rolling the ball and his foot in the box, just
- 46:32like literally inviting city on. They just look like they were
- 46:34just I'm scared of City basically trying to trying to
- 46:38lose. And you know, obviously I don't
- 46:39want to see to win anything. I don't want Arsenal to win
- 46:42anything either. But it was just you couldn't
- 46:45help but just almost back City a little bit and just think, well,
- 46:48at least they're going, you know what I mean?
- 46:49Because it was horrible to watch from an ass.
- 46:51I'll be honest, I I wanted to, I can, I never want to see to win.
- 46:56And I said to you, obviously both teams could lose.
- 46:58That'd be great. But I just think the Arsenal
- 47:01fans just again are going to troll me again.
- 47:03But like always chat about quadruples and I all this stuff.
- 47:08Best team ever. I've seen some of these videos
- 47:10are like comparing play like I saw mom saying would Pele get
- 47:15into this current Arsenal team? And they said no.
- 47:17I'm like, it's buddy Pele won three World Cups.
- 47:21He scored like 1000 goals. And they're like, Nah, he's
- 47:24Gabrielle Martinelli's. I know it's click Bay and I fall
- 47:26for it but. It's like.
- 47:30But I feel like they believe that kind of stuff as well.
- 47:32That's the thing. So I was kind of, but yeah,
- 47:34obviously did not want to back City.
- 47:36But I just find myself wanting to back City in that situation
- 47:41because I was. They weren't so many League Cups
- 47:43anyway. What's another one?
- 47:44Where's Arsenal winning it? It's just interesting to see how
- 47:48they react basically to this. I think it's big.
- 47:54I think it's big. Like like you said, I don't want
- 47:56to say to win anything and they're going to get them all
- 47:58taken off on at some point anyway.
- 47:59So let's just let's just wait for that.
- 48:03We don't want to ask the fans winning and they didn't deserve
- 48:05to win yesterday at all. That's their false consecutive
- 48:09final that they've lost as well. But apparently which is
- 48:12excellent, which is brilliant, and I'm having a little run,
- 48:16right. I understand people, you know,
- 48:19going to games is a big thing and getting tickets to finals is
- 48:22a big thing. But I saw like Arsenal fans
- 48:24leaving after 85 minutes. And that makes no sense because,
- 48:27all right, sometimes people have got far to travel.
- 48:30But surely when you, you know, when you go to finals, when
- 48:33we've been to finals, you're planning the day and you're
- 48:35thinking, right, I'm planning to hopefully win this.
- 48:37I'm going to stay in the stadium for the celebration.
- 48:39Yeah, I'm going to have some bad afterwards.
- 48:41And it was only two nil. It wasn't like they'd been
- 48:43absolutely. Yeah, one goal.
- 48:45Right as well, yeah. One goal, I just made a note to
- 48:50have a run with you because I was like, you can't believe in a
- 48:52final. But you know, and it's not the
- 48:54Arsenal of I said they're not not used to winning.
- 48:57So it did round me up that on 85,000,000.
- 49:02I don't care where you're going, where you're traveling to.
- 49:04You must have planned for them to win it.
- 49:06So stick around. Yeah.
- 49:09Yeah, I agree. Got off my chest in this therapy
- 49:11call. Thanks, Jess.
- 49:12Thanks. But yeah, so City win the League
- 49:15Cup and I do think it sets up an interesting time now because
- 49:20what's going to happen that game for them to just become even
- 49:23bigger because what is it? There's nine points, but City
- 49:26I've got a game in and which takes it to six if it be.
- 49:30City win every 3 is. Three points I still.
- 49:33Think I still think Arsenal are going to win the league like
- 49:37because I just don't think City have been good enough and that's
- 49:39this performance that's that's a new battle.
- 49:43The second-half performance sets a new bar.
- 49:46But actually it has been like drop points to West Ham and
- 49:50Forest recently. So yeah, can they get it?
- 49:53They can get it going to the Arsenal work and they have to
- 49:56get it going for. I'm not sure actually, I don't
- 49:59know what their their respective fixtures look like other than
- 50:02than playing each other. But I would love to see it be
- 50:06more tight kind of going into if we go to the last game or
- 50:09something like that where I still probably again, it's a
- 50:13thing because the Arsenal fans like almost makes me not want
- 50:17them to win it. And then City win.
- 50:18It was like, now I don't obviously don't want City to win
- 50:20it. But if Arsenal just win the
- 50:24league and then go out the Champions League soon and pick
- 50:29up and yeah, I'll take that. It's literally math like that.
- 50:34We're literally almost want our city rivals to win it more than
- 50:39them. Just shows how annoying.
- 50:41But there's no chance that they would ever want Spurs to win it
- 50:44over us to win it. You know what I mean?
- 50:45But that's what exactly That's what that's all your fault,
- 50:52Arsenal. It's all your fault.
- 50:54And then, yeah, a few other things to wrap up.
- 50:56So England squad was announced as we know that you're Scottish,
- 51:00but I know you also follow the Premier League and United and
- 51:03you've got a little eye on it. We may even do I think we will
- 51:06do some kind of World Cup content.
- 51:07So keep it, make sure you're subscribed for that.
- 51:10But the notes that I got out of this were McGuire and Menu in No
- 51:16loop. Shaw were the first.
- 51:18What do you think? Yeah, I think I kind of see why.
- 51:24Also, you can see why the guy I'm hearing Luke Shaw, he's
- 51:29played well and you kind of think, oh, for his experience,
- 51:34at least check him in this gigantic squad you created just
- 51:37to see. But yeah, I think maybe it's
- 51:39just he didn't offer enough going forward for too cool is
- 51:42probably why he's not getting it, is my thought.
- 51:45And you can't just bring a load of people who are good for their
- 51:48squad for the sake of that where you could actually have people
- 51:51who can make a proper impact. Like bringing Luxure on at 70
- 51:56minutes, probably not going to change the game anymore where
- 51:59you can't make those overlapping runs like he used to be able to.
- 52:02So I think that's probably why he's not not made it.
- 52:06There there and then one. Even though he's an ex Liverpool
- 52:09player and a Scouser, I couldn't help but feel a bit sorry for
- 52:12Trent missing out and Jed Spence in a relegation Spurs team is is
- 52:18in a little bit that's a bit mad.
- 52:20Yeah, that's surprising. Yeah, I didn't really get that,
- 52:25Especially when you know what Frank could do from an attacking
- 52:28perspective. I think he's pants defensively,
- 52:30but going forward where which when you think of most games and
- 52:35you'll probably have the majority of the ball, at least
- 52:39in those early games. So you think there's a yeah,
- 52:41basically I think he's better than Spence.
- 52:42So Spencer was good last season. He's been kind of because he's
- 52:48all those means of him having defenders in his pocket and that
- 52:51kind of stuff, but he's not had anyone his pocket for a long
- 52:53time so. No, Spurs have been having the
- 52:57pockets pinced every week. Yeah.
- 52:58And then, yeah, this weirdness about 11 players arriving later
- 53:02as well. Kind of.
- 53:04They just know that in the in the squad, right.
- 53:07So I guess it's like how many Pammy spots are actually up for
- 53:11grabs or not? I don't know.
- 53:13Yeah, I saw like who didn't make it, who I thought should made it
- 53:19give us white. He's not in the squad and you
- 53:24get people like Henderson's in it, right?
- 53:28Yeah, yeah, it's yeah. Like why?
- 53:33It's ridiculous. Like, yeah, it's absolutely mad
- 53:36that he's in the squad because what?
- 53:39Because he's a good lab tower around and he's he doesn't even
- 53:42start for Bret, He doesn't start for Brentford, but he's getting
- 53:44an England squad. Yeah, yeah, I think I'm pretty
- 53:47sure he was in this one. Yeah, but he's been in years of
- 53:49the camp. Yeah, Yeah, yeah.
- 53:53Weird. But yeah, obviously looking
- 53:55forward to the World Cup. It's crazy how quickly it's
- 53:57coming, coming around as well. So watch this space for a bit of
- 54:00World Cup content. I'm sure you're excited Jazz, as
- 54:03a Scotsman as well. It's annoying what time the
- 54:06games are. I think our first games are like
- 54:072:00 AM. Yeah, what's going to say open?
- 54:12Yeah, yeah. So.
- 54:14Brilliant, brilliant. And then just back to United
- 54:17quickly as well. So couple of couple of transfer
- 54:19rumours that the Bruno gamer Ash gamer Ash one is picking up
- 54:24Paige randomly and Eddie Howe is not happy about the links, but
- 54:29another Bruno to United. What do you think?
- 54:32I think, yeah, I think he's ideal kind of replacement.
- 54:37Like, obviously I don't mind signing a 28 year old, it's just
- 54:43not what any OSHA told us they're going to do anymore.
- 54:46But as far as a player, you can like he's probably got what, 4/4
- 54:53at least four years in him kind of yeah, that's just taking 232
- 54:56and lots of years can play beyond that night.
- 54:59So you think, yeah, I think it'd be a great signing, like ideal
- 55:03replacement for Casimiros. And I think from I think it was
- 55:07it Reuters who broke it and it was like some guy who originally
- 55:11broke his transfer before. So he has some sort of
- 55:14connection to him. So apparently it sounds like
- 55:16it's it's not just like some football random site from Malta.
- 55:21It's like a proper journalist. So sounds like it might actually
- 55:26be true. But also I have heard that real
- 55:29might be sniffing about. And these days we can't compete
- 55:32too well with them. Obviously we did be Euro, but we
- 55:36have to see. Yeah, and if it's probably this,
- 55:41hopefully a friend, Champions League, well, this is the most
- 55:44strength we've had in the transfer window for a long time.
- 55:46And if it's the report, the report is 60 million.
- 55:49I'd take that because that's finally would be a decent price.
- 55:53But I think the Geordies would be devastated because they love
- 55:56him don't as well. Yeah.
- 55:59A big loss for them, but we'll see.
- 56:01And then obviously there's still chats around Anderson as well.
- 56:05We both rate and. Again, I think it's really city
- 56:09I had but. Yeah, I keep saying that, but I
- 56:12do feel that this is a time where surely you look at us and
- 56:15think I'll come in there, slide into that midfield and do bits,
- 56:19obviously. I saw according to the athletic
- 56:21there, right that we obviously aren't going to be breaking our
- 56:26wage structure. It's a crazy amounts.
- 56:28I think Simeno, yeah, he's on 300 or 350 as well a week and
- 56:34then we just don't won't pay those wages anymore.
- 56:35So I think maybe like he might, we would join us, but then he's
- 56:41like, well, I could still join city and potentially win
- 56:43trophies and I get paid next to 150 grand type thing.
- 56:45I think that's where we might actually, which is why maybe we
- 56:49need to start doing our business in those.
- 56:51Yeah. Well, it's not like second tier
- 56:53players, but like maybe one it's got more potential is less fully
- 56:57developed yet unless you can do it for like 60 million when it's
- 57:00like Bruno or something like that.
- 57:02But I think I'm guessing he's going to be like 100 million is
- 57:06my guess. I don't know.
- 57:08That's you as a good World Cup, yeah.
- 57:11That's right, it probably has to be done the business done before
- 57:13the world for that reason. Doesn't know.
- 57:15I keep saying though, you know, obviously he's a very good
- 57:18player and would like to see me united, but let's try and steal
- 57:21the the Brighton copy of Football Manager and trying to
- 57:24get that level and find the next one.
- 57:26I know because, yeah, I don't. You know, this should be experts
- 57:30at the club who just have the finger on the pulse of all these
- 57:32top players. And I don't want me and you
- 57:34picking the players. And it just still is still
- 57:37Bruno, Gamerash and Anderson and all these players that we know
- 57:39in the league that we know and. This whole world out there of
- 57:43players Spanish like DM, like Rhodri the next Rhodri, he's out
- 57:50there somewhere in Spain thinking about it.
- 57:53Why aren't we finding game law? The next I like French version
- 57:58or so I saw there's always I know if you've seen the
- 58:00Kamadhinga rumors as well from from reality, that's only like
- 58:0540 million. I think it is, which is pretty
- 58:07good. But then you also go, well, why
- 58:10are you all good selling him and selling him 40 million?
- 58:13So I know apparently he's been injured quite a lot.
- 58:15So maybe that's why they're trying to get rid of him.
- 58:18But again, he was one we we definitely wanted why we was 3-4
- 58:21years ago when he was like 19 because he looks clash.
- 58:25I think he'd be a good player if there isn't some underlying
- 58:30injury by always wary of rounded selling players, right?
- 58:34Same, same. If he's that good, then yeah,
- 58:39yeah. But yeah, some transfer content
- 58:42coming from us at some point as well, no doubt as we get that
- 58:45close to that time. But Jasmine, sad to say it, but
- 58:49that's kind of it for us and a 23 day break, which I'm not
- 58:53looking forward to. Obviously it's nice to have some
- 58:55internationals, but I always miss United.
- 58:59But we didn't end on the high that we hoped.
- 59:01But as we said in the context, everything a decent point.
- 59:05We're still in that third position.
- 59:07Champions League is looking good.
- 59:08I think I read today that we just need 10 more points from
- 59:12our remaining fixtures. So that's really focus, focus on
- 59:16them to try and get that Champions, Champions League
- 59:18spot. But what do you guys think?
- 59:21As always, let us know in the comments.
- 59:23What do you think about the result?
- 59:25Have we missed anything? Do you agree with our analysis?
- 59:28Are Arsenal going to bottle the league?
- 59:30Any trolls out there want to have some fun over the next 20-3
- 59:33days? Let us know as well because we
- 59:35love to hear from you all. Fellow Reds and others are all
- 59:38all welcome, but please let us know.
- 59:41And as always, like and subscribe, follow on all the
- 59:45platforms you're watching or listing on it.
- 59:47We really, really appreciate it. Make sure you don't miss a
- 59:50thing, but thank you very much for watching.
- 59:53Enjoy the break, enjoy the internationals.
- 59:56We may catch you in between and we will see you in the next one.
