- 0:00Speaker 1: Here are your hosts from Inside the Birds, Adam Kaplan
- 0:03Speaker 1: and Andrew did check. Oh, I am Adam Kaplan.
- 0:06Speaker 2: He and Andrew d Czecko from Inside the Birds and
- 0:08Speaker 2: we're Chicken PiZZ on Roosevelt Boulevard. Andrew in the heart
- 0:11Speaker 2: of Northeast Philly. I grew up in Cheltham, about twenty
- 0:15Speaker 2: twenty five minutes from this location of Chicken Pizza.
- 0:18Speaker 1: We're glad to be here. How are you doing.
- 0:20Speaker 3: I'm doing great. Thanks for asking, Adam, and it's great
- 0:22Speaker 3: to be with you. And we have a lot to
- 0:24Speaker 3: discuss coming off that thirty one to twenty five Eagles win.
- 0:27Speaker 1: An odd score by the way, and I know you
- 0:28Speaker 1: were there. We're going to get into that.
- 0:29Speaker 2: And it's good to see Pete Rocky from Chicken Peach
- 0:32Speaker 2: last week in Malvern, their Malvern location for an event
- 0:36Speaker 2: from seventy six Caplin on our friends who have now
- 0:39Speaker 2: events at Chicken Peas all around the country. But yeah,
- 0:42Speaker 2: so Andrew, before we get to your experience at Tampa
- 0:44Speaker 2: Bay and the game obviously, which we're going to get
- 0:46Speaker 2: deep into, and later in the show we'll preview the
- 0:49Speaker 2: game the Eagles have at home against the Broncos this Sunday,
- 0:52Speaker 2: some transactions.
- 0:54Speaker 1: This is a weird one.
- 0:55Speaker 2: So when a long staffer goes on IR, that means
- 0:58Speaker 2: he's probably not gonna be coming back for a while.
- 1:00Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:00Speaker 3: So the Eagles placed long snapper Charlie Hewlett on injury
- 1:03Speaker 3: reserve and they signed cal Adamanas. I believe I said
- 1:06Speaker 3: that guy Ada Midas out of he went to Pittsburgh
- 1:09Speaker 3: and he spent his first three years with the Bengals,
- 1:11Speaker 3: didn't make the team coming out of camp last summer,
- 1:14Speaker 3: and he's with the Eagles right now, twenty seven years old.
- 1:16Speaker 3: And you rarely see a long snapper on the injury reserve,
- 1:19Speaker 3: And we don't quite know what the injury is at
- 1:21Speaker 3: this time, but we'll have to see. Because that operation
- 1:25Speaker 3: with Jake Elliott, Charlie Hewlett and Braden Mann was really
- 1:28Speaker 3: die phenomenal.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Yeah, it's been phenomenal. Wow.
- 1:31Speaker 2: So now they had one other one which we knew about,
- 1:34Speaker 2: was calling Obo Conkroll is done for the season with
- 1:36Speaker 2: the triceps. So they're down on what five edges. But
- 1:39Speaker 2: here's the question, will this be the week that is
- 1:43Speaker 2: he's Ojelari plays.
- 1:44Speaker 1: I know you talked to Vic fan here today.
- 1:46Speaker 3: Yeah, well it has to be I guess by process
- 1:49Speaker 3: of elimination, it has to be as he's o Jelari
- 1:51Speaker 3: and Vic Vangao mentioned that he's been practicing good.
- 1:54Speaker 4: Those are the words that he gave me when.
- 1:56Speaker 3: I asked him what has he seen from him in
- 1:57Speaker 3: practice to date and the reason why he has been
- 2:01Speaker 3: playing And we know this, We've talked about this, but
- 2:04Speaker 3: it's due to special teams. He's played under one hundred
- 2:06Speaker 3: special team snaps in his career. And if you're going
- 2:08Speaker 3: to be the fifth or even sixth edge rusher active
- 2:10Speaker 3: on game day, you have to be able to contribute.
- 2:12Speaker 4: To the third phase, which Patrick Johnson does.
- 2:15Speaker 3: But this is his opportunity right now to really state
- 2:18Speaker 3: his case because otherwise the Eagles have four weeks until
- 2:20Speaker 3: the deadline to potentially have to have to make some decisions.
- 2:24Speaker 2: So we'll talk more injuries in segment two. But Andrew, okay,
- 2:26Speaker 2: so let's let's let's get started. Eagles want to Tampa first.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Here's my first question. Did you like in our pregame
- 2:32Speaker 2: show with myself and Jeff Motion Greg co sel I
- 2:35Speaker 2: did pick the Eagles to win. I thought the Mike
- 2:37Speaker 2: Evans factor would be big. It was, let's talk about
- 2:40Speaker 2: your week. So you got to Tampa on Saturday. Take
- 2:43Speaker 2: us through kind of you know, you get there. Do
- 2:47Speaker 2: you get by the way, do you get the games early?
- 2:48Speaker 3: Like maybe, oh yeah, I really get there like three
- 2:50Speaker 3: four hours early. What do you I like to get situated?
- 2:53Speaker 4: I don't.
- 2:53Speaker 3: I don't like having to deal with traffic very much
- 2:55Speaker 3: like me. I'm a creature of habit. I think you
- 2:57Speaker 3: know that by me. I know that about me by now.
- 3:00Speaker 3: But I like to, you know, one, get your spot,
- 3:02Speaker 3: get your computer set up, get everything again. I like
- 3:05Speaker 3: to really fixate on pregame warm up. So I wanted
- 3:08Speaker 3: to see what kiey Ringo was doing. I wanted to
- 3:10Speaker 3: see what a Dori Jackson, who I talked to him
- 3:12Speaker 3: in the locker room on Friday about his status for
- 3:15Speaker 3: the game, and he pretty much said that it was
- 3:17Speaker 3: going to be probably a day of situation.
- 3:19Speaker 4: He was out there jogging.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Di did Dory Jackson work out for the game? He did?
- 3:23Speaker 1: And was he jogging?
- 3:24Speaker 4: He was jogging.
- 3:26Speaker 3: But but that's like things like that, things like that
- 3:29Speaker 3: or what I what I'm trying to keep an eye on.
- 3:32Speaker 2: So so you get there, here's the first question, so
- 3:35Speaker 2: we knew it was going to be the low nineties.
- 3:37Speaker 2: You've been to training camps, you know how humanity gets.
- 3:40Speaker 2: How was the weather there?
- 3:42Speaker 4: It was soupy, That's the word I like to use.
- 3:44Speaker 3: And maybe I'm maybe I'm a little nuts, but I
- 3:46Speaker 3: was wearing a blazer for that game, and I can
- 3:49Speaker 3: only imagine I was just going from the parking lot
- 3:53Speaker 3: to the press box. I can only imagine what the
- 3:56Speaker 3: feeling was like on the field. But you could see
- 3:58Speaker 3: the Eagles doing implementing different tactics like trying to shield
- 4:01Speaker 3: the players from the sun. Yes, And I mean you
- 4:04Speaker 3: really when you look at this and you see there's
- 4:06Speaker 3: five defensive players who played all seventy two defensive snaps.
- 4:10Speaker 3: I mean you have to. You have to tip your
- 4:11Speaker 3: hat to them because it was extremely humid.
- 4:14Speaker 1: So that game was interesting. So this is a team.
- 4:16Speaker 2: We know the Eagles have struggled there in recent years
- 4:18Speaker 2: in Tampa, but this is a game they also found
- 4:21Speaker 2: a way to win. And in fact, I don't know
- 4:23Speaker 2: about you in the press boxes, that's where you're watching
- 4:25Speaker 2: the game. So I'm watching the game at home, and
- 4:28Speaker 2: then you know they get the block pun I'm like, wow,
- 4:31Speaker 2: this is a momentum booster for me because you're not
- 4:33Speaker 2: expecting it being there. What can you say? Do you
- 4:36Speaker 2: watch the sidelines? What are you watching as the game progresses?
- 4:40Speaker 3: Well, I try to watch the substitutions on the sideline,
- 4:42Speaker 3: and and you know, if a player is coming off
- 4:44Speaker 3: going into the medical tent, you know, these are things.
- 4:46Speaker 3: These are certain you know, intric and intricacies that you
- 4:49Speaker 3: have to be mindful of. But I like the the
- 4:51Speaker 3: all twenty two of view that we get from the
- 4:53Speaker 3: press box. You're able to get that full scope of
- 4:55Speaker 3: what the defense is taking away from the offense and
- 4:58Speaker 3: vice versa. But talk about that punt block by Cam Latu,
- 5:01Speaker 3: who's been a really, really strong addition for the special
- 5:04Speaker 3: teams units over the past three games. I talked to
- 5:08Speaker 3: him after the game and he just he credited Michael
- 5:10Speaker 3: Clay for drawing it up, and he was extremely physical
- 5:13Speaker 3: and shot through and got his hands on there, and
- 5:15Speaker 3: then the ball bounced right into the waiting arms of
- 5:16Speaker 3: Sidney Brown who scoots thirty six yards for the touchdown.
- 5:19Speaker 2: So you talk about how Michael Clay drew it up.
- 5:22Speaker 2: Did he give you an idea of what they were
- 5:23Speaker 2: looking for?
- 5:24Speaker 3: So I asked Sidney Brown about that, and he smiled
- 5:27Speaker 3: and he goes, yeah, Michael Clay definitely dialed up a
- 5:30Speaker 3: little bit of a blitz there, and the way that
- 5:32Speaker 3: it was a freed up cam lattu, the way that
- 5:34Speaker 3: they had it mapped out and he was able to
- 5:37Speaker 3: come through. Now, I should also mention that a lot too.
- 5:39Speaker 3: Seems to have a knack for that, because if you
- 5:41Speaker 3: go back to the Chiefs game, there were about two
- 5:44Speaker 3: instances where he came really close to blocking a punt.
- 5:47Speaker 3: So he seems to have a really natural feel. You
- 5:49Speaker 3: see the physicality, the hand usage. That's been a really
- 5:52Speaker 3: good addition in the absence of Ben Van Sumer.
- 5:54Speaker 2: So and you mentioned Van sumer and I know you've
- 5:56Speaker 2: got to know who was a pretty good athlete, but
- 5:57Speaker 2: unfortunately he had another add knee injury. However, Michael Clay's units,
- 6:03Speaker 2: if you remember Andrew fans Win and.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Michael Clay fired several times. I do.
- 6:07Speaker 2: Yeah, you know the punning issue. They brought Brett Curdin
- 6:11Speaker 2: who was kind of finished. They had a punting problem
- 6:13Speaker 2: for They got braid Man, who's phenomenal. Jake Elliott, you know,
- 6:16Speaker 2: was great that he wasn't so great.
- 6:20Speaker 1: How the special we don't talk about that much, but
- 6:23Speaker 1: how have they kind of evolved in the recent years,
- 6:25Speaker 1: especially this year.
- 6:26Speaker 3: Michael Clay and I think he's done a really exceptional job.
- 6:29Speaker 3: And the reason why I say that Adam is every
- 6:31Speaker 3: year he has to deal and every special teams coach
- 6:34Speaker 3: does as well.
- 6:34Speaker 4: You have to deal with a different group of players.
- 6:36Speaker 4: It's unlike offense or defense.
- 6:38Speaker 3: But to see the collective buy in where you see
- 6:40Speaker 3: starters playing on special teams. Jordan Davis even last season,
- 6:44Speaker 3: played over one hundred snaps on special teams. Jay looks
- 6:46Speaker 3: on Cooper Dejeen plays on kickoff. You don't often see that.
- 6:50Speaker 3: It's not I should say it's not a commonplace around
- 6:53Speaker 3: the NFL. But he has a really good feel for
- 6:56Speaker 3: what teams are looking to do. So on Friday they'll
- 6:58Speaker 3: try to break down tenants about the other team. They
- 7:02Speaker 3: have someone there like Britain Covey who can help, someone
- 7:04Speaker 3: like Johan Dottson. Britain Covey will take the gunners aside.
- 7:07Speaker 3: This is what they look to do. This is how
- 7:08Speaker 3: I want it blocked up. This is how the ball
- 7:11Speaker 3: is you know, comes off their foot and this is
- 7:13Speaker 3: what I need you guys to do. So the Eagles
- 7:15Speaker 3: take it to another level in terms of their preparation
- 7:17Speaker 3: and detail with the third phase.
- 7:20Speaker 2: So Andrew, this game was fascinating. So they go up
- 7:24Speaker 2: seven to nothing, they go up fourteen to nothing. Because
- 7:28Speaker 2: again you get to watch the overview. Did it look
- 7:31Speaker 2: like they were dominating?
- 7:32Speaker 1: Like? What did it look like to you in that
- 7:34Speaker 1: first quarter? It did?
- 7:35Speaker 3: It looked like they had Tampa Bay on the ropes.
- 7:38Speaker 3: I was really taken aback by the aggressiveness and the
- 7:41Speaker 3: flow of the game with Kevin Battulo. I thought he
- 7:44Speaker 3: was pressing all the right buttons, getting creative and finding
- 7:47Speaker 3: ways to exploit what Tampa Bay was doing their aggressiveness.
- 7:51Speaker 4: But then you saw a little bit of a shift.
- 7:53Speaker 3: But to answer your question, I did it did look
- 7:56Speaker 3: like pure domination.
- 7:58Speaker 2: I mean, they're up twenty four to six and they
- 8:00Speaker 2: got the ball first in the second half, I'm thinking
- 8:02Speaker 2: there's no way without Mike Evanster coming back. And I'm
- 8:06Speaker 2: like when it looked a little hairy when they the
- 8:10Speaker 2: league got down to eight and Tampa had the ball
- 8:14Speaker 2: and they think actually tied here with a touchdown of
- 8:17Speaker 2: two point conversion I'm like, wow, this could be an
- 8:19Speaker 2: all time loss. What were your thoughts as the game
- 8:22Speaker 2: progressed of the second half, where they're going to keep
- 8:24Speaker 2: it or not?
- 8:24Speaker 3: Well, really to rewind it back just before the break,
- 8:27Speaker 3: Chase McLaughlin kicking that sixty five yard or it seemed
- 8:30Speaker 3: like coming out of the break that injected a little
- 8:32Speaker 3: bit of life into Tampa Bay. They put up seventeen
- 8:34Speaker 3: points in the second half, and then it was the
- 8:37Speaker 3: tail of tail of two has because they had the
- 8:41Speaker 3: Eagles on the ropes, but they got inspired efforts from
- 8:44Speaker 3: linebacker rookie linebacker Johae Campbell forcing two turnovers. He had
- 8:48Speaker 3: the force fumble, he teamed with jay loox Hunt. Then
- 8:51Speaker 3: he has the interception. And I thought that Zach Bond
- 8:55Speaker 3: had a really good game, Cooper Degene and Quinya Mitchell.
- 8:57Speaker 3: It took all three phases the Eagles to be able
- 9:00Speaker 3: to pull this out. But I thought that the defense
- 9:02Speaker 3: really rose to the occasion in difficult circumstances.
- 9:05Speaker 2: And you mentioned Quinnon Mitchell. Other than some holds which
- 9:08Speaker 2: were obvious which were not called vic Fanger said it
- 9:11Speaker 2: was his best game as a professional.
- 9:13Speaker 3: Why, well, I would say the physicality that he played with.
- 9:17Speaker 3: He made a nice open field tackle on Bucky Irving.
- 9:20Speaker 3: He didn't shy away from great tackle, right, he didn't,
- 9:23Speaker 3: And that was just one of several that he made
- 9:25Speaker 3: in that game. But he's playing more like he was
- 9:29Speaker 3: always a confident player. But he rises to the occasion.
- 9:32Speaker 3: Isn't back down from anybody, and whether or not it's
- 9:35Speaker 3: a it's a tough play or or a positive play,
- 9:38Speaker 3: he bounces back. He has that short mindset which to
- 9:41Speaker 3: be a high level cornerback at the end the at
- 9:42Speaker 3: the NFL level, you have to have. But you can
- 9:45Speaker 3: even look at this a little further. His attitude. He
- 9:47Speaker 3: seemed to come into this game really juiced up. And
- 9:50Speaker 3: there was a time earlier in the game where Cooper
- 9:52Speaker 3: Degene appeared to have an interception, he returns it and
- 9:55Speaker 3: then Tristan Wurf's is little he tackles him a little
- 9:58Speaker 3: roughly there, and Quinna Mitchell took exception to that. So
- 10:02Speaker 3: he's sort of growing into more of a young leadership
- 10:05Speaker 3: type of role. So I think if you look at
- 10:07Speaker 3: everything that he was able to do, it was certainly
- 10:10Speaker 3: strides in the right direction.
- 10:11Speaker 2: And the thing is about Mitchell is you know they
- 10:13Speaker 2: didn't play. They barely played man coverage last season bottom
- 10:16Speaker 2: five and zone coverage.
- 10:17Speaker 1: Their man coverages up. VIC has been more aggressive now.
- 10:20Speaker 2: I think Andrew part of it is because they just
- 10:23Speaker 2: cannot get the passer on their own. He's having to
- 10:25Speaker 2: blitz more, which is not what he wants to do.
- 10:27Speaker 2: But you got to do what you have to do.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Give me some Give me some thoughts on the off
- 10:32Speaker 2: of the defensive line because O Joe Moo's pressure rate
- 10:35Speaker 2: is pretty good and if he got his first sack,
- 10:37Speaker 2: but the run defense has surprised me.
- 10:41Speaker 1: It's kind of falling off. What are your thoughts in
- 10:43Speaker 1: the defensive line so far?
- 10:44Speaker 3: Yeah, and to your point, I believe Vic Fanjo had
- 10:47Speaker 3: the blitz Tampa Bay about forty three percent.
- 10:49Speaker 1: Of that that number time, but really it was just.
- 10:51Speaker 4: Shy of fifty percent.
- 10:52Speaker 3: And when you're not able to get home, traditionally those
- 10:55Speaker 3: are the measures that you have to take.
- 10:57Speaker 4: But I think interior pressure.
- 10:59Speaker 3: Is look at the defense this year Adham and I
- 11:01Speaker 3: said that that was going to have to be their
- 11:03Speaker 3: hallmark interior pressure and dynamic second level play. So Jomo,
- 11:07Speaker 3: you talk about his pressure rate, I thought he was
- 11:09Speaker 3: pretty disruptive, didn't necessarily get home all the time, yes,
- 11:12Speaker 3: but but collapse the pocket. Jalen Carter for most of
- 11:16Speaker 3: the game, he was in and out. Later with the shoulder,
- 11:17Speaker 3: I thought he had a nice showing as well. But
- 11:20Speaker 3: it's the edge rushers that I think it's fair to
- 11:22Speaker 3: have some concern, especially now that we're four games in
- 11:25Speaker 3: and no one's really surfaced or been able to really
- 11:28Speaker 3: cement their status as being that dominant pass rusher off
- 11:31Speaker 3: the edge. And that's why you're seeing the the I
- 11:34Speaker 3: guess the accelerated blitz blitzing from Fangio.
- 11:37Speaker 2: There's no question with the run defense. When you look
- 11:39Speaker 2: at Carter's shoulder. Okay, well, Jomo is long, but he's
- 11:42Speaker 2: not wide and strong like Milt Williams. You knew there
- 11:46Speaker 2: could be some issues, and there are. It's not like
- 11:48Speaker 2: they're giving with choining yards a game, but you saw
- 11:50Speaker 2: Bucky irving. They're getting they're going to hit a misdirection.
- 11:53Speaker 1: A little bit.
- 11:53Speaker 2: Yes, well that's been a little a little bit surprising.
- 11:56Speaker 2: But the thing about Fanjo and the staff is Andrew Tip,
- 12:00Speaker 2: they see what happens. They're talking, you know, they get
- 12:04Speaker 2: to see the Microsoft surface and they adjust, but eventually
- 12:07Speaker 2: in game they seem to get the job done.
- 12:10Speaker 3: Yeah, and I guess I should also say that not
- 12:12Speaker 3: having Noan Smith, you can see the impact there.
- 12:14Speaker 4: He's a very impactful.
- 12:16Speaker 3: Run defeeder, physical at the point of attack and really
- 12:19Speaker 3: will just throw his body around and blow things up
- 12:21Speaker 3: off the edge. I think that also contributed to it
- 12:24Speaker 3: a little bit, But maybe you chalk it up to
- 12:26Speaker 3: maybe the excessive temperatures factoring in, because it did to
- 12:30Speaker 3: me from where I was sitting, looked like they were
- 12:32Speaker 3: getting a little bit gas in the third and fourth quarter.
- 12:35Speaker 5: Hey, you know that one guy in the group chat
- 12:37Speaker 5: who hit a five leg parlay week one and he
- 12:40Speaker 5: wouldn't shut up about it for the rest of the season.
- 12:42Speaker 5: Sounds like kaplan, right, Yeah, Yeah, it could be him,
- 12:45Speaker 5: It could be you, and we would all want to
- 12:49Speaker 5: be you. My bookie makes it stupid easy to get
- 12:53Speaker 5: in on the action, whether it's college ball, NFL Super
- 12:57Speaker 5: Contest and Survivor pools, all the spread, it's player props
- 13:01Speaker 5: and in game lines that you could want, all under
- 13:05Speaker 5: one roof.
- 13:06Speaker 4: What more could you want than that?
- 13:08Speaker 6: If you're new to my Bookie, use our code The
- 13:13Speaker 6: birds THG b i rds. The Birds use the code
- 13:19Speaker 6: and any bet you choose up to five hundred dollars
- 13:22Speaker 6: is fully covered. Make your play and if it doesn't hit,
- 13:26Speaker 6: you get it right back when you opt in using.
- 13:28Speaker 5: Your bet back bonus token. There is no better time
- 13:33Speaker 5: to jump in right now, no better place to play
- 13:36Speaker 5: football is back. Let's make some money with my bookie.
- 13:40Speaker 2: Oh Andrew, it's time now for this week's injury of you.
- 13:44Speaker 2: Lane Johnson the shoulder stinger it acted up again and.
- 13:50Speaker 1: Fred Johnson Johnny in the spot. But this is a concern.
- 13:53Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, Lane's been banged up this season, He's
- 13:56Speaker 3: been battling through some things. And you have to wonder, Adam,
- 13:59Speaker 3: if and I know it would be to the Eagles detriment,
- 14:02Speaker 3: but if maybe sitting someone like a Landon Dickerson or
- 14:05Speaker 3: Elane Johnson for a game or two would would serve
- 14:08Speaker 3: them well for the for the you know, for the
- 14:10Speaker 3: foreseeable future, rather than keep plugging them in and they're
- 14:13Speaker 3: battling through some things. Clearly that that's well, that will
- 14:17Speaker 3: be one thing that I'm keeping an eye on Wednesday
- 14:19Speaker 3: when I'm out there on the practice field. What what's
- 14:23Speaker 3: Lane Johnson's designation. Is he out there, is he working
- 14:25Speaker 3: and things like that, but it seems like if not
- 14:28Speaker 3: properly taking care of it, it could linger.
- 14:32Speaker 2: Yeah, and you notice if he was sitting on the
- 14:35Speaker 2: bench just staring and trying, because when you have a
- 14:38Speaker 2: stinger and just sometimes you lose feeling and you get
- 14:42Speaker 2: massaged out.
- 14:44Speaker 1: But you know he's an older player. You worry about that.
- 14:46Speaker 2: You mentioned Landon Dickerson who have multiple surgeries before the season,
- 14:50Speaker 2: one right after the Super Bowl, then r one the
- 14:52Speaker 2: meniscus trim right before the season started, So you worry
- 14:55Speaker 2: about that. And this is where not having a guy
- 14:59Speaker 2: like jacktros Skull who's versatile, could play multiple positions. They
- 15:02Speaker 2: missed on Trevor Keegan who they cut, They don't Andrew
- 15:05Speaker 2: who is that guy who Brett Toafe?
- 15:08Speaker 4: Brett Toaf.
- 15:09Speaker 3: It would be the logical logical fit at guard in
- 15:12Speaker 3: the absence of Landon. He's been around, He's in a
- 15:14Speaker 3: seventh season right now. They trust him, Jeff Statlin's work
- 15:17Speaker 3: with him over the years. You're not gonna be able
- 15:19Speaker 3: to replicate tech production or come close to it, but
- 15:22Speaker 3: that would be the option. And then and then I
- 15:23Speaker 3: think you have to look at Matt Pryor, who can
- 15:25Speaker 3: play He's really he can play either guard spot, but
- 15:27Speaker 3: he's really a right guard.
- 15:28Speaker 4: Can played right tackle.
- 15:29Speaker 3: You saw that a couple of weeks ago, and Fred
- 15:32Speaker 3: Johnson saw the jack of all trades the game day
- 15:34Speaker 3: swing tackle. But that's why they brought him in because
- 15:37Speaker 3: as we're sort of outlining this year, you can see
- 15:39Speaker 3: that there's a lack of depth there, or experience depth.
- 15:42Speaker 2: Now you mentioned Dickerson, He's just got to play better.
- 15:46Speaker 2: The hope is at some point he's gonna get himself
- 15:49Speaker 2: into game shape and he gets back to where he was.
- 15:50Speaker 2: And then Tyler Stein gets clipped his left knee. It
- 15:55Speaker 2: looked really bad. I don't know if you see from
- 15:57Speaker 2: the press box Exactually he didn't as much time he
- 15:59Speaker 2: came back, but.
- 16:00Speaker 4: Well, it looks bad.
- 16:00Speaker 3: I talked to Tyler after the game call briefly and
- 16:02Speaker 3: he said he hyper extended it, put a brace on,
- 16:04Speaker 3: went back in there and he said, whether it was
- 16:07Speaker 3: adrenaline or what. He goes, I just you know, I
- 16:09Speaker 3: wanted to be out there, and I said, how do
- 16:11Speaker 3: you feel? Because I feel good?
- 16:12Speaker 4: He goes. He said, we got to win.
- 16:14Speaker 1: We'll see on Wednesday. If they listed.
- 16:15Speaker 4: Wednesday, said he's another name. I'll be keeping an eye on.
- 16:18Speaker 1: Let's go to defense. Jalen Carter.
- 16:19Speaker 2: We talked about this early and we'll give him a
- 16:21Speaker 2: little bit more detail. So and now it inside the Birds.
- 16:25Speaker 2: We put it out there that when they drafted him,
- 16:27Speaker 2: the one concern for him from an interry standpoint was
- 16:29Speaker 2: he had chronic shoulder issues. Now I don't know if
- 16:31Speaker 2: it's the same shoulder, but Andrew, it's interesting he started
- 16:35Speaker 2: training camp and Eagles are one of the few teams
- 16:36Speaker 2: that do this with an injury report. Most teams will
- 16:39Speaker 2: not give you one. It's as shoulder and he's still
- 16:42Speaker 2: almost every week on with his shoulder. You concerned about.
- 16:45Speaker 3: This with with Jayalen Carter, I think you have to be,
- 16:49Speaker 3: because it's it was a problem where it flared up
- 16:52Speaker 3: enough where it was reported in July and he had
- 16:56Speaker 3: He's had to deal with that for a number of
- 16:59Speaker 3: months now and then it's surfaced again.
- 17:01Speaker 4: So he said, I had to go back out there.
- 17:03Speaker 3: I wanted to finish the game and be out there
- 17:05Speaker 3: with my guys, But you have to look at everything
- 17:08Speaker 3: long term, and he's so vital to what the Eagles
- 17:11Speaker 3: do defensively, the centerpiece of that defensive line that we
- 17:16Speaker 3: talked about, the offensive line and some of those key players.
- 17:18Speaker 3: You have to wonder if being a little bit more
- 17:20Speaker 3: cautious with someone like a Jay when Carter is going
- 17:23Speaker 3: to serve the Eagles, well, you know for crunch time.
- 17:26Speaker 1: And remember Byron Young for a fourth.
- 17:28Speaker 2: Tackles playing a lot, playing a lot. Yeah, a little
- 17:30Speaker 2: bit more than I expected. So let's also look at
- 17:33Speaker 2: Nacoby Dean and this is interesting. We know that Nacoby
- 17:36Speaker 2: had said weeks ago he'll be ready to get on
- 17:39Speaker 2: the field to practice in week five. And what did
- 17:42Speaker 2: Vic Fancier say about this?
- 17:44Speaker 3: He said his window is twenty one day practice window
- 17:46Speaker 3: for those who don't know, will be opened either this
- 17:48Speaker 3: week or next. If you remember when Nakobe was initially
- 17:52Speaker 3: put on pup, he said he put out something on
- 17:54Speaker 3: social media that said see week five.
- 17:56Speaker 4: Obviously there's a ramp up period that's required.
- 17:59Speaker 3: You can be in as good as shape as you
- 18:00Speaker 3: can be, but there's nothing that replaces being in football shape.
- 18:04Speaker 3: But what I will say is he's been around a
- 18:06Speaker 3: lot more of the past couple of weeks. He was
- 18:08Speaker 3: working early before every training camp practice. He really seems
- 18:12Speaker 3: to have attacked the rehab process as he said he
- 18:15Speaker 3: would when I spoke to him during clean out, and
- 18:17Speaker 3: he's gonna be Now the question becomes, how would he
- 18:19Speaker 3: fit into the equation because they don't traditionally rotate their linebackers.
- 18:23Speaker 3: Right and Zach Bonaja Hot Campbell are playing so well
- 18:25Speaker 3: right now that comes out the field. So I think
- 18:27Speaker 3: if you look at what Nakobe Dean can bring from
- 18:29Speaker 3: a run game perspective, he is very good coming downhill
- 18:32Speaker 3: and he's also effective as a blitzer. So maybe situationally
- 18:37Speaker 3: down the line, when he's able to go, you could
- 18:39Speaker 3: see him carving out a role.
- 18:40Speaker 1: All right.
- 18:40Speaker 2: More injuries, Obo conkerall was put on eyerday with the
- 18:43Speaker 2: toin triceps. That'll do it for him for the season.
- 18:46Speaker 2: It's a tough injury man.
- 18:49Speaker 3: That's tough man. I mean he played just four snaps.
- 18:51Speaker 3: I've had some really good conversation with him. He really
- 18:54Speaker 3: has embraced the culture and said that he noticed right
- 18:57Speaker 3: away that this culture was unlike.
- 18:59Speaker 1: Anything He's not used to it.
- 19:00Speaker 4: Well, he said, when you.
- 19:01Speaker 3: See someone like Jordan Davis smiling ear to ear and
- 19:04Speaker 3: he's talking to receivers and things like that. He said,
- 19:07Speaker 3: the culture here is just different, and he seemed to
- 19:09Speaker 3: really appreciate being here. He got his opportunity to be active,
- 19:12Speaker 3: and then he played just four snaps until he was
- 19:15Speaker 3: immediately rolled out with the triceps and that was obviously
- 19:18Speaker 3: never a good sign.
- 19:19Speaker 2: So let's let's talk before we get to George Jackson.
- 19:22Speaker 2: What does the depth look like now at edge for
- 19:24Speaker 2: the Eagles.
- 19:26Speaker 3: At edge, well, you have jay loox Hunt, Zadarius Smith,
- 19:30Speaker 3: josh Usha Patrick Johnson, and as he's.
- 19:33Speaker 1: O Jaalari now yet to play the season.
- 19:36Speaker 3: Yeah right, So, as you always say, Adam, depth is
- 19:38Speaker 3: not about the amount of players that you have, it's
- 19:40Speaker 3: about the quality of those players. So we're gonna learn
- 19:42Speaker 3: a lot about the depth in the coming weeks. And look,
- 19:46Speaker 3: as he's Oje his twenty two career sacks and he
- 19:49Speaker 3: has youth, and there was a lot of optimism about
- 19:51Speaker 3: what he could potentially bring in a rotational role. We're
- 19:54Speaker 3: gonna find out he should be active. He has to
- 19:56Speaker 3: be active on Sunday.
- 19:57Speaker 1: Andrew other than that Chests game, we had a sack.
- 20:00Speaker 2: He did not look explosive when training came out and
- 20:02Speaker 2: I'm not surprised that he's an he has been inactive,
- 20:05Speaker 2: but and A Vic's right, Yes, when it comes down
- 20:07Speaker 2: to bottom of the roster guys, it's special teams comes
- 20:11Speaker 2: into play.
- 20:11Speaker 1: But until how heros and makes a trade.
- 20:14Speaker 2: If he does for an edge player, he's gonna have
- 20:17Speaker 2: to play because I mean, I know that they're using
- 20:20Speaker 2: Campbell now a little bit more on the edge, but
- 20:23Speaker 2: the fact of the matter is they need edge rushers.
- 20:26Speaker 1: Man, They're not.
- 20:26Speaker 2: Get That's why Vic is doing what he doesn't like
- 20:29Speaker 2: to do. That's on that Blitcherate crazy number you gave.
- 20:31Speaker 1: Yeah, you gotta do what you gotta do to get
- 20:32Speaker 1: to the passer.
- 20:33Speaker 4: Yeah, exactly.
- 20:34Speaker 3: And one of the five is Patrick Johnson, who is
- 20:37Speaker 3: a core special teamer. He played a decent amount of
- 20:40Speaker 3: snaps against the Bucks because when you lose Okuronquo, you know,
- 20:43Speaker 3: we have four edge rushers that are going so they're
- 20:46Speaker 3: they're really light there and the numbers are dwindling and
- 20:48Speaker 3: they need production from that unit because now we're a
- 20:52Speaker 3: quarter of the way through the season and we have
- 20:54Speaker 3: yet to see anyone really emerge or make a dent.
- 20:57Speaker 3: So Darius Smith had a nice showing against the Chiefs
- 20:59Speaker 3: and his first game. I think today Vic Vangel even
- 21:02Speaker 3: said that he thought that the game against the Bucks
- 21:04Speaker 3: was a Darius Smith's best game, even though it didn't
- 21:07Speaker 3: produce a sack.
- 21:09Speaker 4: Well, we'll have to see. They have questions, there, no doubt.
- 21:11Speaker 3: And this is something that you and I have talked
- 21:12Speaker 3: about throughout training camp and it's something that it's surfaced
- 21:15Speaker 3: and it's persisting right now.
- 21:17Speaker 2: Andrew, when you look at this defense, Okay, to me,
- 21:21Speaker 2: there have been most consistent on either side of the football.
- 21:24Speaker 2: We're only for four games, but how good could this
- 21:26Speaker 2: defense be?
- 21:27Speaker 3: I think they're gonna continue to get better at him
- 21:29Speaker 3: and the reason why I say that it's a very
- 21:30Speaker 3: young defense. Someone like Jahad Campbell and Drew mccuba, the
- 21:34Speaker 3: first and second round picks of this year. They're going
- 21:36Speaker 3: to continue to get better. Yeah, they're gonna make their mistakes,
- 21:39Speaker 3: but they're coachable. They have a very sharp football IQ
- 21:43Speaker 3: and the more reps that they get, you can see
- 21:44Speaker 3: them becoming more and more comfortable within the defense. They
- 21:48Speaker 3: also have someone like Cooper dejen who you can make
- 21:50Speaker 3: an argument it's one of the best tackling defensive backs
- 21:52Speaker 3: in the NFL. Quinna Mitchell playing with a lot of confidence.
- 21:56Speaker 3: The question that I have in that group I go
- 21:58Speaker 3: back to the edge rushers. Unless that area is fortified,
- 22:01Speaker 3: there's going to be questions. But I think there's enough
- 22:03Speaker 3: talent there to move that forward.
- 22:06Speaker 2: So people have asked us about ty Robinson. I thought
- 22:08Speaker 2: he was a little bit wrong training camp. I'm not
- 22:11Speaker 2: surprised that he's really only if he's active, he's playing
- 22:14Speaker 2: on special teams.
- 22:15Speaker 1: What are your thoughts on him?
- 22:17Speaker 4: I expected to see more from him in training camp.
- 22:19Speaker 3: He never really flash and you could clearly see that
- 22:21Speaker 3: he was going through some growing pains, which is kind
- 22:24Speaker 3: of odd because he played five years in college.
- 22:26Speaker 4: He's twenty four years old.
- 22:27Speaker 3: But every young player progresses at different rates, and that's
- 22:29Speaker 3: what I often tell folks when they're tougher on some
- 22:33Speaker 3: younger players. But you have to be able to play
- 22:35Speaker 3: with how they want you to play, the hand usage,
- 22:38Speaker 3: and be able to with the fundamentals and the assignment
- 22:41Speaker 3: sound nature that the Eagles require. And if you're if
- 22:44Speaker 3: there's any reluctance there, they're not going to put you
- 22:46Speaker 3: out there. But he has to be active because they
- 22:48Speaker 3: have five he's the fifth defensive tackle, and especially in
- 22:50Speaker 3: that kind of weather, you can't just go into it
- 22:52Speaker 3: with four defensive tackles. But I was very I was
- 22:55Speaker 3: under the impression that he wasn't going to factor in
- 22:57Speaker 3: much in terms of playing time, and the snap share
- 23:00Speaker 3: really reflects.
- 23:00Speaker 2: That linebacker wise. I did want to touch on them briefly.
- 23:04Speaker 2: So you mentioned Zach Bond earlier, who's been phenomenal joh
- 23:07Speaker 2: Hod Campbell. To me, he's a little bit ahead of schedule.
- 23:11Speaker 2: Campbell's role in the future. We know Deans on the
- 23:13Speaker 2: funny Vers deal. He's coming off a major knee injury.
- 23:16Speaker 2: Give me Campbell's projection for the next couple of years.
- 23:20Speaker 3: I don't think it's hyperbole to suggest that he could
- 23:22Speaker 3: be one of the best players at his position. And
- 23:25Speaker 3: I think Zach Bond said it best in the locker
- 23:27Speaker 3: room after the game.
- 23:28Speaker 4: He doesn't even know.
- 23:28Speaker 3: What he's doing yet, really, he said, he's still figuring
- 23:32Speaker 3: it out. He's still new to the position, and you're
- 23:34Speaker 3: seeing the impact that he's having on the field, And
- 23:37Speaker 3: I think I go back to something else, Zach Baond said.
- 23:40Speaker 4: When joh Hot Campbell gave.
- 23:42Speaker 3: Up that seventy two yard wheel route off the left
- 23:44Speaker 3: sideline where he was matching and carrying Bucky Irving for
- 23:47Speaker 3: about seven seconds because there was no pressure.
- 23:50Speaker 4: Zach Bond told him on the sideline.
- 23:52Speaker 3: He goaes, Okay, you got twenty seconds to think about
- 23:54Speaker 3: that and be mad at yourself, and then you got
- 23:56Speaker 3: to let it go. Because Bond said that if that
- 23:58Speaker 3: happened to him and his rookie year, he said, that
- 24:00Speaker 3: would have ruined me for the rest of the game.
- 24:03Speaker 3: But for Jahad Kam would have come back in that
- 24:04Speaker 3: game and later make an interception that was key, and
- 24:07Speaker 3: that win I think tells you about his mental resolve.
- 24:10Speaker 2: Secondary wise, Andrew, because we've it's we all know about
- 24:15Speaker 2: Cooper Dejine who you mentioned. Okay, Jeorgy Jackson did not
- 24:18Speaker 2: play well before that, But to me and people could
- 24:21Speaker 2: say whatever they want about Khey Ringo, We've been very
- 24:23Speaker 2: critical of Ringo's play since he was drafted, and we
- 24:27Speaker 2: know what happened in training camp, but I give him
- 24:29Speaker 2: credit for this. This it's I I know Mike Evans
- 24:32Speaker 2: was out, but this is a start where he needed
- 24:34Speaker 2: he got. They had nobody else. Parry Nicholson round up playing,
- 24:37Speaker 2: but he's not nice. You can't use some as a starter.
- 24:40Speaker 2: Ringo's got good size. We know it could run. There
- 24:42Speaker 2: are issues with stiffness. We've talked about this now for
- 24:44Speaker 2: three years, but he held up. Okay, Vic talk, I
- 24:47Speaker 2: know they didn't throw it to him. But what you
- 24:49Speaker 2: were at the game, what did Ringo look like to you?
- 24:52Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 24:52Speaker 3: I think Keey Ringo deserves some credit here because going
- 24:54Speaker 3: into this game it was widely expected. I think we
- 24:57Speaker 3: were all a little surprised that Baker Mayfield didn't challenging
- 25:00Speaker 3: more in coverage, and Keithley Ringo was even surprised that
- 25:04Speaker 3: he wasn't throwing up. Yeah, but you know, Vic Vanjo
- 25:08Speaker 3: said he was sticky in coverage, but the tackling has
- 25:11Speaker 3: to be better because that was there.
- 25:12Speaker 4: There was two or three times where he failed to.
- 25:14Speaker 3: Wrap up a ball carrier, and you may ask yourself,
- 25:17Speaker 3: well he's so proficient in doing so on special teams,
- 25:20Speaker 3: there's not always that correlation. And I think the more
- 25:22Speaker 3: that he plays, he'll be better at that. He's big,
- 25:24Speaker 3: he's about six two, two hundred pounds, but look, the
- 25:28Speaker 3: teams are eventually going to start the challenge him. And
- 25:29Speaker 3: I thought it was very telling that today, when asked
- 25:32Speaker 3: about is there a potential that Kiey Ringo could usurp
- 25:36Speaker 3: Dori Jackson at that second corner opposite queiy On Mitchell
- 25:38Speaker 3: and Vic Vanjo said, it's possible.
- 25:41Speaker 2: You know, you know, it's interesting about that that whole thing,
- 25:43Speaker 2: Andrew when you look at if Fangio and how he
- 25:47Speaker 2: thinks you can't you can't, like if you if you
- 25:53Speaker 2: put together Okay, what's what do I want Accordner to
- 25:55Speaker 2: look like? It looks like Ringo, Like if you drop
- 25:58Speaker 2: a shorter six one and a half two hundred pounds
- 26:02Speaker 2: long could run. But he's got issues. So there's a
- 26:05Speaker 2: reason why he dropped to the fourth right, But I
- 26:08Speaker 2: think you see there's something in him as a fourth corner.
- 26:10Speaker 2: There's some upside and quite frankly at this point, Denver's
- 26:14Speaker 2: coming in. We'll talk about them later in the show.
- 26:17Speaker 2: Denver is very They're one of the deepest teams at receiver.
- 26:20Speaker 2: They've got Courtland Sutton who can play, Marvin ms Mims
- 26:23Speaker 2: who could run, Troy Franklin who play with Bonus at
- 26:26Speaker 2: Argon who could run that matchup. We'd actually worry me more,
- 26:29Speaker 2: to be honest with you.
- 26:30Speaker 3: Yeah, and I think and you and I have and
- 26:32Speaker 3: Jeff have outlined this for three years now. He struggles
- 26:35Speaker 3: in transition with the fluidity and that's where if you
- 26:37Speaker 3: look at what a Dori Jackson brings there, Keiley doesn't.
- 26:40Speaker 4: It's simply just the fluid. The fluidity.
- 26:43Speaker 3: He's a fluid mover and he has good change of
- 26:45Speaker 3: direction in short area of quickness. But but Keieley has
- 26:47Speaker 3: the physicality and I think the more that he plays
- 26:50Speaker 3: he can potentially be serviceable. But he's gonna face a
- 26:53Speaker 3: stiff challenge this week against the Broncos for the reason
- 26:55Speaker 3: which you outline.
- 26:55Speaker 1: All right, right after this break, we're gonna take an
- 26:57Speaker 1: inside look at the Eagles next opponent on the Denver
- 27:01Speaker 1: Broncos blowing out the Bengals on Monday night.
- 27:04Speaker 7: Sky Motor Cars in West gest there's a different Ulden dealers.

- 27:23Speaker 7: spend more than death Journey Becausit Skymotorcarns dot com today
- 27:27Speaker 7: are called six ten, nine to one eighty seventh two times.
- 27:34Speaker 2: And thankfully it's gonna be one Eastern game on Sunday.
- 27:37Speaker 2: The weather report will be nice. For why that it's
- 27:39Speaker 2: actually gonna be nice. I'm I'm mister long range forecast.
- 27:42Speaker 2: Barring a change in and of course it's that'd be
- 27:43Speaker 2: one Eastern game. The Broncos who just won. They blew
- 27:47Speaker 2: out the Bengals at home. They lost to in a row,
- 27:50Speaker 2: but they are a deep team. What are your thoughts
- 27:52Speaker 2: on this matchup? Initially here this was.
- 27:55Speaker 3: The game when the schedule came out at him, I
- 27:57Speaker 3: circled Week five really as a game that I believe
- 28:00Speaker 3: that that's that was where they're going to find their identity.
- 28:03Speaker 3: Who the Eagles are, what direction they're headed, because as
- 28:06Speaker 3: he's as a talent, calendar turns to October. That's where
- 28:09Speaker 3: you get a better sense. And I thought that this
- 28:11Speaker 3: matchup presents a unique challenge for the Eagles. You talk
- 28:14Speaker 3: about them being deep at wide receiver. Bo Knicks hasn't
- 28:17Speaker 3: necessarily played particularly well, but he vic Fango today sort
- 28:22Speaker 3: of compared him to Baker Mayfield. He said, I wouldn't
- 28:25Speaker 3: be surprised if that's Baker Mayfield's brother and compared him stylistically.
- 28:31Speaker 3: So that's a player that you have to account for,
- 28:33Speaker 3: especially his ability to create yards with his legs. And
- 28:36Speaker 3: their defense is solid. Look, Patsertan, the corner is among
- 28:41Speaker 3: the best in the NFL. And I mean for an
- 28:43Speaker 3: offense that's struggling, especially in the passing game, that's something
- 28:46Speaker 3: I'm certainly going to be keeping an eye on.
- 28:49Speaker 2: From a matchup standpoint. With Denver coming in here. You
- 28:52Speaker 2: know Sean Payton, we know they're kind of a balanced team.
- 28:54Speaker 2: They will run the ball. They actually run the best
- 28:56Speaker 2: they have in three years. Peyton has been there against Cincinnati.
- 29:01Speaker 2: But you know the receiver corps there, we know the
- 29:05Speaker 2: Eagles have a problem Cord opposite Mitchell. They shockingly other
- 29:08Speaker 2: than the bust whatever you want to call it. When
- 29:10Speaker 2: mccuba's when a Booka scored the seventy seven yard touchdown,
- 29:14Speaker 2: it's kind of fluky because it wasn't really designed. It
- 29:17Speaker 2: was just scrambled drill, yeah, play broke down. How do
- 29:20Speaker 2: you think the match up against the Broncos receiver group?
- 29:23Speaker 4: Well, I mean we talked about kie Ringo.
- 29:25Speaker 3: That's that's somebody that I'm expecting bow Knicks and Sean Payton,
- 29:28Speaker 3: who by the way, is a really good offensive mind.
- 29:31Speaker 4: They're gonna they're gonna target him.
- 29:32Speaker 3: And I don't think you worry so much about Quinna
- 29:35Speaker 3: Mitchell and Cooper Degen. But there's also the youth movement
- 29:40Speaker 3: that you have to take into account. Drew mccuba very
- 29:42Speaker 3: high football IQ, but you saw he was partially victimized
- 29:47Speaker 3: on that egg Buka play.
- 29:49Speaker 4: Someone like Sean Payton who.
- 29:50Speaker 3: Does have that you know, advanced offensive mind, they're going
- 29:53Speaker 3: to target someone like a mccuba or a Kielee Ringo
- 29:57Speaker 3: or try to maybe isolate.
- 29:58Speaker 4: You Hot Campbell in space.
- 30:00Speaker 3: But you know, you know, big picture, I do like
- 30:03Speaker 3: that matchup for Philadelphia.
- 30:04Speaker 1: Let's talk true mccuba.
- 30:06Speaker 2: Drewe mccooba was a guy that was drafted to replaced
- 30:09Speaker 2: Garder Johnson CJ.
- 30:10Speaker 1: Garder Johnson, who was released, by the way by the
- 30:13Speaker 1: Texans last week. It's crazy how things work out.
- 30:16Speaker 2: But Drew mccuba, your thoughts on his play so far,
- 30:20Speaker 2: what did you see in the offseason program and overall,
- 30:22Speaker 2: what kind of player could this be?
- 30:24Speaker 1: For the Eagles, for the future.
- 30:25Speaker 3: He keeps getting better at him confident player, one who
- 30:28Speaker 3: has accepted coaching. Vic Vangio hasn't minced words, as he
- 30:32Speaker 3: never does, but he didn't mince words even dating back
- 30:36Speaker 3: to Week one about mccouba.
- 30:37Speaker 4: You know, he played okay.
- 30:38Speaker 3: He said, there's a couple of busting coverage and what
- 30:41Speaker 3: did mccuba do the second the next week against the Chiefs,
- 30:43Speaker 3: he has a big interception and he played a lot better.
- 30:46Speaker 3: I mean, coming out of Texas, I had him graded
- 30:49Speaker 3: very highly. He was my third rated safety in the
- 30:51Speaker 3: class because of the football intellect, the versatility, the ball skills,
- 30:55Speaker 3: and to me, that was the quintessential vicvangioe safety if
- 30:58Speaker 3: you look back on the history of what he traditionally
- 31:01Speaker 3: looks for there. But in training camp he didn't play
- 31:04Speaker 3: a lot. He didn't have a lot of opportunities with
- 31:06Speaker 3: the first team because he had the shoulder injury that
- 31:09Speaker 3: sidelined him for a while. He had the hamstring But
- 31:12Speaker 3: I think that it really speaks to how confident vic
- 31:15Speaker 3: Vangio was because he deployed him as the Week one
- 31:17Speaker 3: starter and hasn't looked back, and then coming off the
- 31:21Speaker 3: Bucks game, it was all Drew mccoubat safety. There was
- 31:24Speaker 3: no longer a rotation. I think Sidney Brown played one
- 31:26Speaker 3: defensive snap. So that that tells you even if Facvangio
- 31:30Speaker 3: himself well.
- 31:30Speaker 1: Wow, that's wow, tells you.
- 31:33Speaker 4: That tells you he's going to help hum.
- 31:35Speaker 3: Yeah, and that they're they're getting more confidence with what
- 31:37Speaker 3: he's been able to do and what he can handle.
- 31:39Speaker 2: All right, So one thing I do want to talk
- 31:41Speaker 2: about with with this with this Seagles defense is when
- 31:48Speaker 2: you look at this matchup and we know that that
- 31:50Speaker 2: Denman will get the defense, We'll switch the other side
- 31:52Speaker 2: of the ball in a minute. When you look at
- 31:55Speaker 2: the skill level. You mentioned Jihad Campbell, right, we know
- 31:58Speaker 2: about Jalen Carter being a great player, but I look
- 32:00Speaker 2: at Denver's skill positions. Okay, we mentioned receivers Evan Ingram,
- 32:05Speaker 2: is there a pass catch at tenant? Who's a really
- 32:07Speaker 2: good athlete, pretty good offensive line? This this team, and
- 32:12Speaker 2: you were talking about this might be a litmus test
- 32:14Speaker 2: or see with the Eagles identities where they're at.
- 32:17Speaker 1: I feel like this is a game and I know
- 32:18Speaker 1: it's home. This is a game where the Eagles defense
- 32:21Speaker 1: might have it. They might have a little bit of
- 32:22Speaker 1: a problem.
- 32:24Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean this is gonna be I look at
- 32:26Speaker 3: this as a measuring stick because it's a pretty balanced team.
- 32:30Speaker 3: And Josh Grizzard, the offensive coordinator for the Buccaneers. He's
- 32:34Speaker 3: young and I guess he's inexperienced, but Sean Payton isn't.
- 32:39Speaker 3: And they're gonna know how to how to exploit what
- 32:41Speaker 3: the Eagles are looking to do defensively. And he knows
- 32:44Speaker 3: mcvangoe very well by the way, Sean Payton, So this
- 32:48Speaker 3: is a This is a big time matchup. I have
- 32:51Speaker 3: questions about the Eagles offensive line in this one as well,
- 32:54Speaker 3: because they're they're banged up, especially along the interior.
- 32:56Speaker 4: So I'm not quite sure that this is going to
- 32:58Speaker 4: be the week.
- 32:59Speaker 3: Where Sakuon Barkle is would to get going, which puts
- 33:01Speaker 3: the onus on the passing game to get going in
- 33:03Speaker 3: a hurry, and they haven't shown through four games that
- 33:06Speaker 3: they can be consistent from quarter one through quarter four.
- 33:10Speaker 2: Let's switch the other side of football, Andrew. Let's let's
- 33:13Speaker 2: talk about the Eagles offense and the Broncos defense.
- 33:17Speaker 1: Unido Nick Benito, who's their star edge rusher.
- 33:21Speaker 2: He just got a big extension, But there's so much
- 33:23Speaker 2: going on with that football team. What do you think
- 33:24Speaker 2: about Denver's defense matching up against the Eagles offense.
- 33:27Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 33:28Speaker 3: I like Denver's defense. They're tough, they're hard nose, they
- 33:30Speaker 3: fly to the football. The Eagles offense, I'm not exactly
- 33:34Speaker 3: sure what they're looking to accomplish offensively in terms of
- 33:37Speaker 3: their personality, their identity. They We've seen signs of life
- 33:43Speaker 3: in the Rams game.
- 33:43Speaker 4: Late in that one.
- 33:45Speaker 3: In the first half of that Buccaneers game, Kevin Potulo
- 33:48Speaker 3: in the Eagles offense.
- 33:48Speaker 4: Was extremely aggressive. They were creative.
- 33:51Speaker 3: They had plays off of the push play that I
- 33:53Speaker 3: thought caught the an aggressive Bucks defense napping. But this
- 33:58Speaker 3: is this is a game where they can't afford to
- 34:01Speaker 3: get conservative, because I do believe that that's where you
- 34:04Speaker 3: can fall behind it against a team like this who
- 34:06Speaker 3: is equipped to score and make plays defensively. So it
- 34:09Speaker 3: behooves the Eagles to get off to a fast start,
- 34:12Speaker 3: but not only get off to a fast start, but
- 34:14Speaker 3: maintain that.
- 34:15Speaker 2: All Right, we got to talk about the running game.
- 34:17Speaker 2: It's been dreadful. I we knew there was no way
- 34:20Speaker 2: Barker would be as good as last year. It's impossible virtually,
- 34:23Speaker 2: But Mike, I cannot believe how bad the running game is.
- 34:25Speaker 1: What give us your thoughts? Why isn't better?
- 34:27Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean Sakuon Barker is averaging three point one
- 34:30Speaker 3: yards per carry, fifteen to fifty nine point three yards
- 34:32Speaker 3: per game. I look at it from a number of
- 34:36Speaker 3: different perspectives here, because there's whenever you see some area,
- 34:42Speaker 3: whether it's the receiving element or the running games, there's
- 34:45Speaker 3: always multiple factors.
- 34:46Speaker 4: That are contributing to it.
- 34:48Speaker 3: The offensive line, the interior, Landon Dickerson, banged up, Cam
- 34:52Speaker 3: Jurgens he had back surgery in the offseason, and I
- 34:56Speaker 3: didn't get a ton of work throughout training camp. Sure,
- 34:59Speaker 3: then you look at Tyler, he was bagged up in
- 35:01Speaker 3: the game, playing through something. Lane Johnson has been, you know,
- 35:04Speaker 3: dealing with things the past few weeks.
- 35:07Speaker 4: I mean they're banged up there.
- 35:08Speaker 3: For one, they're not generating the same push that they
- 35:10Speaker 3: normally do from the interior. Saquon Barkway to me, watching
- 35:14Speaker 3: the games over the past really two or three weeks,
- 35:17Speaker 3: I think it's fair to wonder whether or not he's
- 35:19Speaker 3: pressing at times. And Kevin Patoula kind of elluded, so
- 35:22Speaker 3: making sure you're not forcing things and when things aren't there.
- 35:25Speaker 3: And remember there's truck sized holes that he had last season,
- 35:28Speaker 3: and he's used to sort of finding the crease and
- 35:30Speaker 3: accelerating for big chunks and they're not there. So I
- 35:33Speaker 3: think sometimes maybe you can see a little frustration kick in.
- 35:36Speaker 2: Speaking of that, Andrew, think about this. This is an
- 35:39Speaker 2: unbelievable number so yards before contact, which basically means, just
- 35:43Speaker 2: like it sounds, what his yards before contact was four
- 35:47Speaker 2: yards per four yards, Okay, that means he's not getting
- 35:49Speaker 2: touched until it hits four yards. Okay, this year it's
- 35:53Speaker 2: about one seven. Oh, that's really bad. Now that I'm sorry,
- 35:56Speaker 2: I'm not blaming Jeff Staltlin, but that's a kneemic like.
- 36:00Speaker 4: That, and for somebody of that caliber.
- 36:02Speaker 3: Yeah, and I don't I'm not one who looks at
- 36:06Speaker 3: the workload that he got last year as a byproduct
- 36:10Speaker 3: of why he's not necessarily being able to find the
- 36:12Speaker 3: same success. I think that's not correct. You can look
- 36:16Speaker 3: at the offensive line play. I also think schematically there's
- 36:19Speaker 3: things that the Eagles can do differently. They run a
- 36:22Speaker 3: lot of twelve personnel, but I think maybe going more
- 36:24Speaker 3: eleven personnel, getting another passing option on the field, but
- 36:27Speaker 3: also spreading the team.
- 36:29Speaker 4: Spreading the defense.
- 36:30Speaker 3: Out and giving him more space to work with could
- 36:32Speaker 3: serve them well. When the offensive line is not playing
- 36:34Speaker 3: particularly well and it's not there, you have to try
- 36:37Speaker 3: something different to be able to spring Saquon. I also,
- 36:40Speaker 3: and you and I have talked about this, I wonder
- 36:42Speaker 3: if the Eagles would consider utilizing Cameron Lattu when they
- 36:46Speaker 3: do go to twelve personnel, who is very physical at
- 36:48Speaker 3: the point of attack, to maybe add another dimension to
- 36:52Speaker 3: that run game because he can drive players off the
- 36:55Speaker 3: ball and maybe that helps with creating some space too.
- 36:58Speaker 2: You mentioned something to me about Kim Watts's probably the
- 37:01Speaker 2: first time we talked about it man three four weeks ago.
- 37:03Speaker 1: Didn't you say he stoned somebody in.
- 37:04Speaker 4: Turning to Joe Hot Campbell? How he stone like Joehi Campbell.
- 37:08Speaker 3: He was beating tight ends, whether it was Calkatara, Nick Muse.
- 37:12Speaker 3: He got Calcatarra multiple times, but he was just attacking downhill,
- 37:17Speaker 3: throwing his launching his body in there and really blowing
- 37:20Speaker 3: up plays. But they put in Latso and Lot two
- 37:23Speaker 3: didn't get a ton of reps in practice, he was
- 37:26Speaker 3: the fifth or sixth tight end. To put things into perspective,
- 37:29Speaker 3: but they plugged him in. Campbell tried the same thing
- 37:31Speaker 3: and lots of stone them and it was at a standstill.
- 37:35Speaker 4: So that made my notebook clearly.
- 37:37Speaker 3: And then he did it later on in practice with
- 37:38Speaker 3: I think another linebacker. And I started to go back
- 37:41Speaker 3: and go through my notes from the draft that year,
- 37:43Speaker 3: and I had physicality as underlined as one of his
- 37:47Speaker 3: predominant traits. And you see, he was new to the
- 37:50Speaker 3: position because he entered Alabama's an outside linebacker, transitioned to
- 37:53Speaker 3: tight end, had some trouble being off sides and things
- 37:56Speaker 3: like that, eventually earn the trust of Nick Saban. So
- 37:58Speaker 3: he's sort of growing into that role a little bit.
- 38:00Speaker 3: And now he's doubling as a fallback as well.
- 38:03Speaker 2: And look he's you see him offset. But what they've
- 38:07Speaker 2: got to do, Andrew, Let's get Calcultar.
- 38:09Speaker 1: Out of playing in the line. He can't block anyone
- 38:12Speaker 1: in line.
- 38:13Speaker 4: He can't do he can't do it. And a lot too.
- 38:15Speaker 3: I should also mention played more snaps this week than
- 38:18Speaker 3: Kylin Granson, which is interesting, which is for the first
- 38:21Speaker 3: time this season. So I think that that's something also
- 38:23Speaker 3: to keep an eye on.
- 38:24Speaker 2: All right when we come back, Andrew, it was coordinator
- 38:27Speaker 2: day at Novacare.
- 38:29Speaker 1: All three of them spoke.
- 38:31Speaker 2: There's some interesting stuff that you metro Vic fangerw will
- 38:34Speaker 2: get in his stuff.
- 38:35Speaker 1: And you knew that Kevin Batula was.
- 38:37Speaker 2: Going to be on the grill, that he was gonna
- 38:39Speaker 2: get asked about what happened in the second half. And
- 38:41Speaker 2: Michael Clay he's not. He's not the scapegoat anymore. It's
- 38:43Speaker 2: been a couple of years, man, he and what could
- 38:45Speaker 2: you say right now? Standing they've got one of the

- 41:24Speaker 2: We talked about It's den for week an AFC opponent
- 41:27Speaker 2: non conference game, but still counts as a Major League
- 41:30Speaker 2: baseball Yep, it's only one of seventeen, not one of
- 41:32Speaker 2: one sixty two. It was coordinator to day so Eagles
- 41:36Speaker 2: for decades under the coordinators speak on Tuesdays. All right,
- 41:41Speaker 2: Vic Fangio, he's the best. I love Vic Man really
- 41:45Speaker 2: hides on anything. Give us a Cliffton's version of what
- 41:48Speaker 2: he said today.
- 41:49Speaker 3: Well, he was asked about the busted coverage play the
- 41:51Speaker 3: Igbuka seventy seven yard touchdown, and his answer was bad play.
- 41:56Speaker 3: He didn't really elaborate on that, but he did mention
- 41:59Speaker 3: that there it's possible that those were his words, that
- 42:02Speaker 3: Keeley Ringo could potentially unseat Adorri Jackson as the second
- 42:06Speaker 3: corner opposite Queenyon Mitchell. In terms of Azzo Jalari, he
- 42:10Speaker 3: mentioned that him being inactive for the first four games
- 42:15Speaker 3: was directly attributed to his inability to play special teams
- 42:18Speaker 3: or I guess the fact that he hasn't played it
- 42:21Speaker 3: throughout his career, but there was. He mentioned Quanyon Mitchell
- 42:25Speaker 3: as well, that he thought that that was the best
- 42:27Speaker 3: game that he's played as a pro. And I think
- 42:29Speaker 3: we should talk a little bit about Quinnon Mitchell and
- 42:32Speaker 3: how he continues to grow within that defense and really
- 42:35Speaker 3: starting to creep up towards the NFL's top players at
- 42:39Speaker 3: his position. But when you get that kind of praise
- 42:41Speaker 3: from someone like Vic Vangio. I mean that that's certainly
- 42:44Speaker 3: not something that he that should be taken lightly.
- 42:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 42:47Speaker 2: In fact, I say with Vic Fangil, he throws around
- 42:49Speaker 2: complients like I don't know, manhole covers.
- 42:52Speaker 1: I mean, he's just he's he's a funny guy.
- 42:55Speaker 2: He's reminds me of Jim Johnson, a little bit more crusty,
- 42:57Speaker 2: the late great Jim Johnson. But the thing is, I
- 43:00Speaker 2: would he gives out so much good information. You know,
- 43:03Speaker 2: it's rare in today's NFL er. This is my twenty
- 43:05Speaker 2: seventh year of cover the NFL. It's very rare now
- 43:08Speaker 2: that coaches give you anything, even.
- 43:09Speaker 1: Assistance like get some give you a couple of tibets.
- 43:12Speaker 3: This guy's look the best I've seen and sometimes, I
- 43:15Speaker 3: mean he doesn't usually give overly expansive answers, but there's
- 43:18Speaker 3: a lot in those answers that are extremely telling. And
- 43:21Speaker 3: I guess over the last year and some change, you
- 43:23Speaker 3: learn how to speak Vic and see what he's trying
- 43:26Speaker 3: to say.
- 43:27Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I got it.
- 43:27Speaker 3: But other times he's more blunt, and I think that
- 43:30Speaker 3: that is certainly a useful tool for what we do.
- 43:33Speaker 4: And I'm much appreciated.
- 43:35Speaker 3: But I what I've noticed from this from this defense,
- 43:38Speaker 3: to take this even a step further, is the collective
- 43:42Speaker 3: development that you see from all three levels. They have
- 43:45Speaker 3: a really exceptional group of assistant coaches. Bobby King, linebacker's coach,
- 43:49Speaker 3: Christian Parker, who I believe will be a future defensive
- 43:52Speaker 3: coordinator coaching the defensive.
- 43:54Speaker 4: Backs right now. And the list goes on and on.
- 43:56Speaker 3: But there's no it should be no surprise that when
- 43:59Speaker 3: you look at the defense in which Fanjoe presides over,
- 44:02Speaker 3: that they continue to make strides each week.
- 44:04Speaker 1: All right, let's get to Kevin Patulo. You knew what
- 44:07Speaker 1: was coming, and they should. You should ask them the
- 44:10Speaker 1: first questions about what happened in the second half. Kevin
- 44:13Speaker 1: his answer, give us your pinion. I don't think he
- 44:15Speaker 1: said much.
- 44:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, I transcribed it on my ex account
- 44:18Speaker 3: and I went back and read it and reread it again,
- 44:20Speaker 3: and I couldn't exactly glean much from that. It seemed like,
- 44:25Speaker 3: you know, he definitely tipped the hat to some of
- 44:28Speaker 3: the tough defenses that they played over the first four
- 44:30Speaker 3: weeks and said that it's good to experience that early
- 44:33Speaker 3: in the season and mentioned that it's sort of a
- 44:36Speaker 3: learning process, but that sometimes if they look at their approach,
- 44:40Speaker 3: whether it's you know, being more creative in the second
- 44:42Speaker 3: half or making making adjustments on the fly in the
- 44:46Speaker 3: first half to counter what the defenses are doing. But
- 44:49Speaker 3: he also talked about AJ Brown and his communication. He
- 44:52Speaker 3: said they're in constant communication and just that they have
- 44:56Speaker 3: a good relationship and that's not really a surprise. Aj
- 44:58Speaker 3: has been very vocal in his support of Batulo since
- 45:01Speaker 3: he was appointed as the offensive coordinator. So, yeah, I
- 45:04Speaker 3: mean there's we talked about the running game. We talked
- 45:07Speaker 3: a lot about that, and he he mentioned a lot
- 45:10Speaker 3: of what he talked about last week about trying to
- 45:11Speaker 3: see what they can do as a coaching staff to
- 45:13Speaker 3: create more space and have things blocked up a little
- 45:15Speaker 3: bit better and try to really expand that. But other
- 45:19Speaker 3: than that, not not a ton to dissect from what
- 45:21Speaker 3: he had to say.
- 45:22Speaker 2: All right, let's get into that before we get to
- 45:24Speaker 2: Michael Klay. So their offense has been wildly inconsistent.
- 45:28Speaker 1: You see some stuff like the first week you were
- 45:31Speaker 1: there for the Tampa Bay game.
- 45:32Speaker 3: Oh, by the way, I should also say sure that
- 45:34Speaker 3: play those plays to goddards had been.
- 45:37Speaker 4: You know something that they've been sitting on for their
- 45:39Speaker 4: old years.
- 45:40Speaker 1: There the shovel pass.
- 45:41Speaker 2: I think every team has it in their in their
- 45:44Speaker 2: arsenal and their playbook, but sometimes you have to bring
- 45:46Speaker 2: it out. Let's take an overview of Batullo. You've covered
- 45:49Speaker 2: him now for a number of years. He's moved up
- 45:52Speaker 2: now he's the coordinator. He's also calling the plays. Some
- 45:54Speaker 2: coordinators don't call the place, but he is. What are
- 45:56Speaker 2: your thoughts on this guy?
- 45:58Speaker 4: I like KP.
- 46:00Speaker 3: I think he's a sharp offensive mind. He's I mean,
- 46:04Speaker 3: folks have to remember he just called this fourth game. Ever,
- 46:09Speaker 3: at the pro level, there's going to be growing pains
- 46:11Speaker 3: despite the star study cast that they have offensively. And
- 46:15Speaker 3: I think you've seen, whether it's the Cowboys game where
- 46:18Speaker 3: they score three consecutive drives, whether it's the Chiefs game
- 46:21Speaker 3: where there were opportunities for an explosive play had it
- 46:24Speaker 3: been blocked up better on the initial play the head
- 46:25Speaker 3: aj Brown streaking down the field, that thirteen yard touchdown
- 46:29Speaker 3: run that Saquon Barkley had had it been further back,
- 46:31Speaker 3: that's a fifty yard run. They had it really well
- 46:33Speaker 3: blocked up, and there's nothing but green grass in front
- 46:35Speaker 3: of them, so you see the ability for him to
- 46:37Speaker 3: be able to do this and conjure up plays. Now
- 46:40Speaker 3: it's just about being more consistent, being more aggressive. But
- 46:43Speaker 3: the Eagles philosophical approach, as you know Adam, is to
- 46:46Speaker 3: be protect the football, play things a little close to
- 46:50Speaker 3: the best one necessary. And I mean I think that
- 46:53Speaker 3: you learn a little bit about yourself the first four
- 46:55Speaker 3: weeks of the season and knowing that you can't afford
- 46:58Speaker 3: to take your foot off the guest. Kevin's learning just
- 47:00Speaker 3: as everyone else on that unit's learning, and whether or
- 47:04Speaker 3: not you want to acknowledge it or not, September is
- 47:06Speaker 3: an extension of the preseason. I do believe that they're
- 47:08Speaker 3: going to find their way. This is two talents of
- 47:10Speaker 3: an offense and they'll they'll they'll get better and learn
- 47:13Speaker 3: from it.
- 47:13Speaker 1: Why do you think it is an extension of the preseason.
- 47:17Speaker 3: Because I think getting practice time is a lot different
- 47:21Speaker 3: than getting getting reps in a game setting where you
- 47:25Speaker 3: have to deal with the communication, You have to deal
- 47:27Speaker 3: with getting in and out of the huddle and the operation,
- 47:30Speaker 3: and there are certain things you can't replicate from a
- 47:33Speaker 3: coordinator from a play cars perspective, crowd noise, the intensity,
- 47:37Speaker 3: the environment, and the flow of the game. In practice,
- 47:41Speaker 3: you dictate what you're doing, but in the game you
- 47:44Speaker 3: have to be able to counter what defenses are doing.
- 47:46Speaker 3: And I think for a first time coordinator, it's fair
- 47:48Speaker 3: to expect some.
- 47:50Speaker 4: Of those are early growing pains.
- 47:51Speaker 3: And I know that's not what everybody wants to hear,
- 47:53Speaker 3: but that's the fact that I don't that.
- 47:55Speaker 4: That's the facts of the matter exactly.
- 47:56Speaker 2: Social media that they want to a fired, banned from
- 48:00Speaker 2: the building, you.
- 48:01Speaker 1: Turn to drift. Yeah, yeah, it's just it's vicious.
- 48:05Speaker 2: But Andrew, one of the things you do for us
- 48:07Speaker 2: at inside inside of the Birds is you do to check
- 48:11Speaker 2: O daily, Yeah, where you kind of summarize kind of
- 48:13Speaker 2: where your thoughts are and transactions, injuries lineup, changes upon it.
- 48:17Speaker 1: Whatever. What do we got coming from you.
- 48:20Speaker 3: Next on this, Well, I'll be doing one tonight based
- 48:23Speaker 3: off of my perspective of the temperature check for the offense.
- 48:28Speaker 3: What did I hear from the locker room and their
- 48:31Speaker 3: understanding of what maybe some of the issues are and
- 48:34Speaker 3: how they can rectify that and try to get add
- 48:36Speaker 3: a different perspective to that.
- 48:38Speaker 2: And by the way, Andrew and I have food. I
- 48:40Speaker 2: got to give a shout out to Chicky Pizza's Pizza.
- 48:42Speaker 2: They have the most underrated pizza I've ever had, easily,
- 48:45Speaker 2: and the craft fives are incredible.
- 48:46Speaker 1: Because I see your dip there, I know you're dying
- 48:48Speaker 1: to have it.
- 48:49Speaker 4: I've been, I've I've been eyeing it up.
- 48:51Speaker 3: Yeah, but uh, I think that the sauce on the
- 48:53Speaker 3: pizza is really really good, adds a nice touch to it.
- 48:57Speaker 2: And I don't mind that it's if it gets called
- 48:59Speaker 2: I love to call pizza, so there's nothing wrong with it.
- 49:01Speaker 2: So let's get to Michael Clay, right, Michael Clay like
- 49:04Speaker 2: coming into the season, Andrew, let me ask you this
- 49:06Speaker 2: question if you could, it's only been five weeks. What
- 49:10Speaker 2: were your thoughts coming into the season, and let's reflect
- 49:12Speaker 2: on what it looks.
- 49:13Speaker 1: Like to you now.
- 49:14Speaker 3: Yeah, with Michael Clay, and I've had a chance to
- 49:16Speaker 3: talk to him obviously over the years and watch him
- 49:19Speaker 3: grow and of alve as a coach, I think very
- 49:22Speaker 3: highly of him. I think that his leadership ability, his innovation,
- 49:28Speaker 3: the way that he approaches that job and tries to
- 49:30Speaker 3: find ways to exploit his ability to get starters to
- 49:35Speaker 3: collect to buy in to what they're doing and contribute
- 49:38Speaker 3: to the third phase. There's always I mean, I can't
- 49:42Speaker 3: say enough good things about what I've seen from him.
- 49:44Speaker 3: And this is a coach who just a few years ago,
- 49:46Speaker 3: everybody wanted him gone. They didn't you know that, they
- 49:50Speaker 3: couldn't fathom him returning forever season. And I was not
- 49:54Speaker 3: of that belief, I said, because talking to players talking
- 49:59Speaker 3: about how.
- 49:59Speaker 4: His vowaye resonates with them. Okay, And so I.
- 50:03Speaker 3: Think there's the outside perception they see what happens for
- 50:06Speaker 3: three hours, but they don't see what happens the day
- 50:09Speaker 3: to day, the preparation, the detail that Michael Clay really
- 50:14Speaker 3: commands of his unit.
- 50:15Speaker 4: You see them that they're very crisp.
- 50:17Speaker 3: There's not a lot of penalties, and they play with
- 50:19Speaker 3: a lot of energy each and every week.
- 50:21Speaker 1: Two block kicks and a block punt's ridiculous. So you're
- 50:23Speaker 1: looking to get that in five years, they got it
- 50:25Speaker 1: so far over four games.
- 50:26Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 50:26Speaker 3: Sidney Brown had a really good line about why it's
- 50:30Speaker 3: different here. He said, special teams are different here because
- 50:33Speaker 3: everybody that's on special teams has a role. So you're
- 50:38Speaker 3: you're working towards something and when you see somebody else
- 50:41Speaker 3: make a play, you want to go out there and
- 50:43Speaker 3: make a play too. And they know how critical the
- 50:46Speaker 3: third phase is and that's not something that in Philadelphia
- 50:49Speaker 3: they take for granted.
- 50:50Speaker 2: No, it's not hyperbole. And I give Nick Sirianni credit.
- 50:53Speaker 2: He's stuck with him because he fired Brian Johnson. Okay,
- 50:57Speaker 2: and you know time will tell if his friend Kevin
- 51:00Speaker 2: Batulo works out. But yeah, it's it's interesting because this
- 51:03Speaker 2: team is four and oh they're only two unfitted teams.
- 51:06Speaker 2: And he goes play the Bills at Buffalo late in
- 51:09Speaker 2: the season in December.
- 51:10Speaker 5: Hey, Philly fans, game day is stressful enough. Parking, traffic,
- 51:14Speaker 5: long lines, We've all been there. But when it comes
- 51:17Speaker 5: to your cannabis, Camden Apothecary makes it easy. This is
- 51:21Speaker 5: the dispensary for sports fans, just minutes outside of Philly,

- 51:56Speaker 5: the community with specials for fans, students, service members, and

- 52:06Speaker 5: an experience made for Philly fans twenty one and up.
- 52:09Speaker 2: As we turn our attention to week six, now where
- 52:12Speaker 2: do you do they play that they play the Vikings?
- 52:14Speaker 4: Is the Giants of the Vikings Thursday night football football?
- 52:17Speaker 1: Yeah? Wow?
- 52:17Speaker 4: And then the Vike Uh.
- 52:19Speaker 3: Then it should be a home game because it's like
- 52:20Speaker 3: it's away home, away home.
- 52:22Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 52:22Speaker 1: They don't play back to back home games. Is that
- 52:24Speaker 1: the most ridiculous thing? What is that? It's absurd?
- 52:27Speaker 4: I don't like it. I'm not a fan of it.
- 52:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 52:30Speaker 2: Yeah, So next week we'll be a chicken pizza Marlton,
- 52:33Speaker 2: New Jersey.
- 52:34Speaker 1: You and Jeff Mosher, you had Tray, You had Trey
- 52:37Speaker 1: Thomas on a couple weeks with you.
- 52:38Speaker 4: Right last week he was outstanding.
- 52:40Speaker 1: What do you guys talk about?
- 52:41Speaker 3: We broke down a lot of offensive line play, particularly
- 52:43Speaker 3: Fred Johnson. We talked about Tyler Steen and it really
- 52:47Speaker 3: aligned with my what I was able to gain a
- 52:50Speaker 3: glean from from watching him play and talking to people
- 52:52Speaker 3: that he's been he's been fine.
- 52:54Speaker 4: He's been fine at right guard. So I think Trey's perspective.
- 52:58Speaker 3: And you you know, he played the played the position
- 53:01Speaker 3: at a high level left tackle for the Eagles for
- 53:03Speaker 3: many years.
- 53:05Speaker 4: It's sort of I guess reiterated what we're seeing.
- 53:09Speaker 3: And he broke down the running play, the thirteen yard
- 53:11Speaker 3: run the Saquon Barkley had, and how Cam Jurgens was
- 53:14Speaker 3: exceptional getting the second level blocking up Chiefs linebacker Drew
- 53:17Speaker 3: Tranquo and Tyler Steen covering up the Chamari I can't
- 53:21Speaker 3: remember Honhamari Connor.
- 53:23Speaker 4: So they have it in them.
- 53:25Speaker 3: They just need to be more consistent in that area.
- 53:26Speaker 3: But he broke down the offensive line like no one
- 53:28Speaker 3: else but Trey can.
- 53:30Speaker 2: He is amazing. He taught us the catching technique that
- 53:33Speaker 2: Jeff Stallin has.
- 53:34Speaker 1: Trey was an assistant offensive line coach, uh for what
- 53:38Speaker 1: maybe like what what I forget?
- 53:40Speaker 4: He would he worked with the Chiefs too, Yeah.
- 53:42Speaker 2: Dennis, first summer, that's right, That's right, all right, guys,
