- 0:25Speaker 1: It is time believe your worries outside and laugh with
- 0:30Speaker 1: us inside the treehouse. I'm Daniel Malley along with Trade Trenthome.
- 0:35Speaker 1: Roger is still out taking care of some family stuff.
- 0:40Speaker 1: We will power on inside our cute little treehouse of fun.
- 0:47Speaker 1: And honestly, sometimes we in order to find the fun,
- 0:53Speaker 1: we have to learn something, and by learning something, we
- 0:55Speaker 1: have to really that means just figure something out. So
- 0:58Speaker 1: I guess it was around I don't know, a few
- 1:02Speaker 1: weeks ago, started seeing places online, various people all of
- 1:07Speaker 1: a sudden using the word demurre and one, and like,
- 1:09Speaker 1: where did this come from? Why is all of a
- 1:13Speaker 1: sudden everyone's saying, well, that's not very demure. I need
- 1:16Speaker 1: to be demure. I need to be at the demur
- 1:19Speaker 1: and something else. What the hell is that?
- 1:22Speaker 2: Then?
- 1:22Speaker 1: That's so I just ignored it for a little while
- 1:25Speaker 1: until I saw that parents are naming their kids demure.
- 1:33Speaker 1: And that's when I realized, Okay, I need to figure
- 1:36Speaker 1: out the origin of this. So I don't I just
- 1:40Speaker 1: an ignorant idiot.
- 1:41Speaker 3: I just figured gen Z found addiction.
- 1:44Speaker 1: There is actually a demure trend that took over social media.
- 1:47Speaker 1: That was the one where I was kind of in
- 1:49Speaker 1: the dark about, but now it's taken on a new
- 1:52Speaker 1: life because people have allegedly started naming their newborns demure.
- 1:59Speaker 1: One new mom posted a TikTok featuring her baby girl
- 2:03Speaker 1: earlier this month, revealing that she had been named Demure Rain.
- 2:10Speaker 1: The mom wrote in the caption, meet demure d capital
- 2:14Speaker 1: D little e capital m u r e. Yeah. Uh,
- 2:19Speaker 1: some mom says, meet demure. See how she not crying?
- 2:22Speaker 1: Very sweet, very cute, see very demure trade You know
- 2:27Speaker 1: the origins of this demure fiasco? No, I mean, I mean,
- 2:33Speaker 1: I know the word. I mean, it's I'm sorry say
- 2:36Speaker 1: that again. I had to meet it on my end,
- 2:39Speaker 1: not very demure on my part.
- 2:41Speaker 3: I mean, I mean, i've I've used the word for decades,
- 2:45Speaker 3: but I don't know, I didn't.
- 2:49Speaker 1: When was the last time you used the word demure
- 2:53Speaker 1: besides like seven seconds ago. Oh, I mean, I've.
- 3:00Speaker 3: Just whenever it mainly, I mean it was something we're
- 3:03Speaker 3: talking about females, but you know they're shy KOI whatever, demure.
- 3:11Speaker 1: I've I assume that if you use the word demure
- 3:16Speaker 1: in recent times, not this showwithstanding that it would have
- 3:21Speaker 1: been you know, involving your Chihuahwa daisy. She is quite demure,
- 3:25Speaker 1: very cute. See now she's just a whore. Okay, yeah,
- 3:31Speaker 1: that's not very demure. So I went on a little
- 3:34Speaker 1: internet hunt and tried to find out, okay, what is
- 3:40Speaker 1: the origin of this demure thing? And I found it
- 3:46Speaker 1: because like most things that start online, it's actually not
- 3:50Speaker 1: hard to find it. You just got to type in
- 3:52Speaker 1: and oh, okay, well there it is. So parents are
- 3:56Speaker 1: now naming their children demure after the initial viral trend,
- 4:00Speaker 1: and thanks to a person named Jules Lebron on TikTok,
- 4:05Speaker 1: who posted a video about her getting ready for work
- 4:14Speaker 1: regimen as she's in the car before going into work,
- 4:18Speaker 1: something along those lines. That's what I know. Are you ready, Tray? Sure? Okay,
- 4:23Speaker 1: here we go. We are now going to be uh
- 4:29Speaker 1: we are now going to demure orientation. There we go.
- 4:34Speaker 4: See how I come to work very demure. I do
- 4:37Speaker 4: my makeup, I lay my wig, I do a little braid,
- 4:40Speaker 4: I flattern my hair, I do chee cheese out, I
- 4:43Speaker 4: do viral vanilla. Very demure, very mindful, and not forget
- 4:49Speaker 4: to be demure? Diva?
- 4:51Speaker 1: Is you got that, Tray? Don't forget to be demure diva.
- 4:56Speaker 1: She's not even using it right, how do you you know?
- 5:01Speaker 3: Because it's demure, was like, uh, another word that would
- 5:05Speaker 3: come to mind with modest.
- 5:08Speaker 1: So if your che cheese are out, you are not demure,
- 5:13Speaker 1: don't you chee chee shame her? You can have you can.
- 5:17Speaker 1: It's the twenty first century. You can have your chee
- 5:19Speaker 1: cheese out and still be considered demure. No, no, it can't.
- 5:25Speaker 3: It's this is where lie. This is. This is why
- 5:29Speaker 3: how we have gotten to this point in our society
- 5:31Speaker 3: is that attitude of well, you know you could still
- 5:34Speaker 3: do that and be this.
- 5:36Speaker 1: No, no, you can't.
- 5:37Speaker 3: So no, listen, I'm all for chee cheese being out.
- 5:42Speaker 5: Hang it.
- 5:43Speaker 3: You got them flowing them, press them up, press them out,
- 5:45Speaker 3: be proud, be loud, be proud. But that's not mirror.
- 5:51Speaker 1: The problem is is when she says, che cheese, I'm
- 5:52Speaker 1: actually waiting for a couple of chihuahas to pop their
- 5:55Speaker 1: heads out of her chest.
- 5:56Speaker 3: I was waiting for seventy has seventies Golfer to come
- 5:59Speaker 3: out with a hat.
- 6:00Speaker 1: He might also be in there, and he's just you know,
- 6:03Speaker 1: he's doing a sword thing after after sinking a putt.
- 6:08Speaker 1: I kind of get it though, after seeing the video,
- 6:11Speaker 1: seeing seeing the origin of the demure thing, It's like, Okay,
- 6:14Speaker 1: I get it. But here's the thing. It's demure in
- 6:16Speaker 1: her mind. We don't know where Jewles works. Here it's
- 6:20Speaker 1: Juls by the way. So the bastardization of the English language,
- 6:26Speaker 1: as you're pointing out Trey, by taking the word demure
- 6:30Speaker 1: and making it change definition into something else, is also
- 6:34Speaker 1: happening with just spelling in general. So I'm kind of
- 6:39Speaker 1: with you on that. But tastes change, fashion changes, all
- 6:45Speaker 1: things change in time, things evolve. So now again I
- 6:48Speaker 1: go back to I don't we don't know where Jewels works.
- 6:51Speaker 1: The way she looks and with chee cheese out and
- 6:53Speaker 1: her makeup and her wig laying flat just right might
- 6:57Speaker 1: be demure for her particular position.
- 7:03Speaker 3: I've you know, Jules clearly need some makeup lessons and
- 7:14Speaker 3: to a dictionary.
- 7:16Speaker 1: Yeah, well, here's the thing. So it even says underneath
- 7:19Speaker 1: her name. You can kind of see it if you
- 7:21Speaker 1: look closely here under the screen, you see your name
- 7:23Speaker 1: it says Jules Lebron. Then it's got a couple of
- 7:25Speaker 1: hashtags like the four you page demure tagging a couple
- 7:29Speaker 1: of people I don't know. Then underneath it, she has
- 7:32Speaker 1: claimed herself to be a fragrance influencer. So maybe that's
- 7:37Speaker 1: what we need to do. We need to watch the
- 7:38Speaker 1: video again about how to be demure tray from the
- 7:42Speaker 1: expertise of a fragrance influencer. Okay, see how I come
- 7:47Speaker 1: to work very demure.
- 7:49Speaker 4: I do my makeup, I lay my wig, I do
- 7:51Speaker 4: a little braid, I flattern my hair, I do chee
- 7:55Speaker 4: cheese out, I do viral vanilla, very demure, very mindful.
- 8:01Speaker 1: I'd like to point out that when you squirt the
- 8:03Speaker 1: viral vanilla fragrance four times directly on you, that is
- 8:08Speaker 1: not demure. No, that is not mindful. That is an
- 8:11Speaker 1: assault on my senses, especially my nose. If I was,
- 8:15Speaker 1: you know, in front of her. Are you okay?
- 8:19Speaker 3: Yeah? No, I just I looked up the just the
- 8:22Speaker 3: actual dictionary meaning of demure and what did you find? Reserved,
- 8:28Speaker 3: modest and shy, typically used of a woman, A demure
- 8:32Speaker 3: young lady of clothing giving a modest appearance, a demure
- 8:37Speaker 3: kneelink skirt.
- 8:40Speaker 1: Hmmm, nothing about chee cheese out.
- 8:43Speaker 6: No, No, it's again, that's uh that's just another one
- 8:51Speaker 6: of those things where uh, we're just taking a word
- 8:54Speaker 6: and just use it however they want.
- 8:58Speaker 1: Look, we've done that, you're like, I mean, we we
- 9:00Speaker 1: turn uh you know, we've turned words on on their
- 9:04Speaker 1: head before.
- 9:09Speaker 3: I mean yeah, like you could say, you know, bad
- 9:13Speaker 3: took on a new meaning exactly.
- 9:16Speaker 1: But I mean I think that was a whole like.
- 9:21Speaker 3: Started on the you know, slang, and then it became commonplace.
- 9:27Speaker 1: Uh.
- 9:28Speaker 3: I think this is just they don't know how to
- 9:30Speaker 3: use a word.
- 9:34Speaker 1: I have a question, okay, and it is not of
- 9:36Speaker 1: a demure nature. So I am disclosing that outright before
- 9:40Speaker 1: I ask this very non demure question, is is Jules
- 9:45Speaker 1: a dude? You said what I was?
- 9:52Speaker 3: You said what I was thinking.
- 9:54Speaker 1: Look, you know what if h.
- 10:01Speaker 3: If that was if that was a drag show, then
- 10:03Speaker 3: yes she was plaited demuir.
- 10:06Speaker 1: See there you go. We don't know where she works, yeah,
- 10:10Speaker 1: I mean at a drag brunch. She looks very demure,
- 10:13Speaker 1: very mindful, very cutesye, and and the chee cheese are
- 10:17Speaker 1: actually you know, pretty uh suppressed for that environment. Okay,
- 10:24Speaker 1: let's uh let's go not be demure. How about that?
- 10:26Speaker 7: All right, You're in the tree house.
- 10:31Speaker 8: Visit us online at freehouseonair dot com.
- 10:44Speaker 1: Let's get Jacqueline from Brooks Plumbing into the treehouse now
- 10:46Speaker 1: for any and all of your plumbing once and needs.
- 10:49Speaker 1: Give her a call two one, four, three six eight
- 10:51Speaker 1: thirty eight thirty eight the website Brooks Plumbing Texas dot
- 10:54Speaker 1: com Jacqueline. I know it varies depending on the situation
- 10:57Speaker 1: and the crisis at hand, but when some some one
- 11:00Speaker 1: calls you at Brooks Plumbing, usually about how long is
- 11:03Speaker 1: it before you are able to get someone out to
- 11:05Speaker 1: give them a hand?
- 11:06Speaker 5: This is my favorite question. So we're same or next
- 11:09Speaker 5: day at the latest. However, for most people, the real emergency,
- 11:15Speaker 5: in my opinion, is when there's water act not like
- 11:18Speaker 5: sewer water, but like clean potable water in the house,
- 11:22Speaker 5: leaking from up to down, or from down to up,
- 11:25Speaker 5: if it's a slab, like pushing in, if it is
- 11:28Speaker 5: like a massive I mean, let's say it's even a
- 11:30Speaker 5: freeze break. I love for people to know where their
- 11:34Speaker 5: homeowner valve boxes so they can shut the water on
- 11:37Speaker 5: and off by themselves. I always tell people go kick
- 11:41Speaker 5: around the mulch in your flower bed and see if
- 11:42Speaker 5: you have one you're not guaranteed to have one, depending
- 11:45Speaker 5: on how old your house is. But go to home
- 11:47Speaker 5: depot and buy that eight to twelve dollars meter key
- 11:50Speaker 5: that takes the meter lid off. And I don't tell
- 11:54Speaker 5: anyone I told you to do it. But in an emergency,
- 11:56Speaker 5: shut the water off at the meter. Worst case scenario.
- 11:59Speaker 5: Hang up with me, and I'll tell you all the time. Literally,
- 12:02Speaker 5: dull nine one one, ask for the fire department. Say
- 12:04Speaker 5: my house is flooding. Send the fire department turn this
- 12:07Speaker 5: crap off, and they'll get their way faster than we are.
- 12:10Speaker 5: And it's not that I don't want to be the
- 12:11Speaker 5: one to come turn off your water, but I don't
- 12:12Speaker 5: want to make you wait an hour and a half
- 12:14Speaker 5: for me to send you somebody. If the fire department
- 12:17Speaker 5: has a station two streets over, and that's kind of
- 12:20Speaker 5: their job to serve the public. And so for me,
- 12:23Speaker 5: water is like an emergent, urgent issue. Now sewer, if
- 12:27Speaker 5: you're sewer's clogged, that's emergent. That's an issue. If you're
- 12:30Speaker 5: a whole home stoppage, we're going to come same day
- 12:32Speaker 5: because we want you to stay in your house. I
- 12:35Speaker 5: can't necessarily guarantee a fixed same day if there's a break,
- 12:39Speaker 5: true emergency service always same or next day. We we
- 12:43Speaker 5: prioritize keeping people in their houses is the easiest way
- 12:46Speaker 5: to say it.
- 12:46Speaker 1: For those plumbing wants and obviously needs, you give Jacqueline
- 12:49Speaker 1: a call two one four three six eight thirty eight
- 12:52Speaker 1: thirty eight two one four three six eight thirty eight
- 12:54Speaker 1: thirty eight and again that website Brooks Plumbing Texas dot com.
- 13:03Speaker 8: You're in the treehouse, visit us online at Treehouse on

- 13:36Speaker 1: to fair leash. I know that now I know the
- 13:41Speaker 1: origins of the demeur thing. It's going to be stuck
- 13:44Speaker 1: in my head and it's going to be a word
- 13:46Speaker 1: now that I'm going to use frequently I just hope that,
- 13:50Speaker 1: according to the dictionary definition you read trade, that I
- 13:53Speaker 1: use it properly, because if I don't use the definition
- 13:57Speaker 1: properly of the word demure, that would in itself not
- 14:00Speaker 1: be very demure.
- 14:04Speaker 3: Yep.
- 14:05Speaker 1: Yeah. Speaking of things that are not very demure, the
- 14:10Speaker 1: old Titan sub oh yeah, remember that old sack of
- 14:14Speaker 1: balt that's now at the bottom of the Atlantic, Uh speaking,
- 14:17Speaker 1: which did you see the video of that? I think
- 14:19Speaker 1: it was it was last week. They actually sent another
- 14:21Speaker 1: submersible down, hopefully a better one, uh to the ocean
- 14:24Speaker 1: floor and saw the wreckage of the Titan sub Yeah.
- 14:28Speaker 3: And unmanned submersible I believe.
- 14:32Speaker 1: Yeah, they learned, I guess yeah. Yeah. Uh. The there
- 14:41Speaker 1: there are many troubling things about the whole ocean Gate
- 14:46Speaker 1: and that's yeah, ocean gate. I'm not doing like the
- 14:48Speaker 1: water Gate thing. That's that's overplayed. Uh No, it's actually
- 14:51Speaker 1: ocean gate. The Titan submersible that went to the bottom
- 14:54Speaker 1: of the ocean last year, over a year ago and implode,
- 15:00Speaker 1: killing everyone on board, which, by the way, when they
- 15:04Speaker 1: you know, went down to the wreckage with the unmanned
- 15:06Speaker 1: submersible that stayed intact, obviously there were no bodies, because
- 15:09Speaker 1: when you depressurize at that depth, there ain't nothing left.
- 15:13Speaker 8: You just on.
- 15:15Speaker 3: I was actually surprised that. I guess it was like
- 15:18Speaker 3: the tail cone was still intact.
- 15:22Speaker 1: It is. It is kind of mind boggling when you
- 15:24Speaker 1: think about how you can see videos on YouTube and
- 15:27Speaker 1: stuff about when you see something get depressurized and they'll
- 15:31Speaker 1: reenact it, you know, not in the ocean two miles
- 15:35Speaker 1: down so you can see it better. When they do
- 15:38Speaker 1: that implosion thing, you'll see the metal submersible submarine thing
- 15:44Speaker 1: type deal buckle, and you know, kind of like like
- 15:49Speaker 1: when you squeeze a bag of popcorn or something, but
- 15:52Speaker 1: it doesn't completely like go into like a nugget of
- 15:55Speaker 1: metal or anything. The human body though, basically just gets
- 16:00Speaker 1: squashed in the blink of an eye to nothingness, which
- 16:03Speaker 1: is truly terrifying if you think about it. So anyway,
- 16:10Speaker 1: there's been some new information that has come out about
- 16:14Speaker 1: the Titan Sub and the disaster that happened last year.
- 16:19Speaker 1: A contractor for Ocean Gates ill fated titaned sub says
- 16:23Speaker 1: that the team tracked the vessel's position using a system
- 16:27Speaker 1: that involved a notebook and an Excel spreadsheet. Are you surprised?
- 16:40Speaker 1: I shouldn't be, because I mean, you're talking about a
- 16:43Speaker 1: submersible that was piloted by an Xbox controller. Yeah, but yeah.
- 16:48Speaker 1: A contractor says ocean Gate tracked the Titan sub using
- 16:51Speaker 1: an idiotic navigation method that involved pen, paper and Excel spreadsheet.
- 17:00Speaker 1: And Tanella will Be, a former Oceangate contractor, said on
- 17:04Speaker 1: Friday the Titan subs and plosion implosion that the team
- 17:09Speaker 1: would manually update the vessel's coordinate data. According to the testimony,
- 17:13Speaker 1: Oceangate's team would first transcribe the details into a notebook
- 17:16Speaker 1: and then transfer the numbers to Microsoft Excel. She said
- 17:19Speaker 1: the data was then imported into a mapping software to
- 17:21Speaker 1: tract the submerciple's position. She said there were delays because
- 17:24Speaker 1: there was this manual process of first writing down the
- 17:28Speaker 1: lat long coordinates and then typing the men. We tried
- 17:30Speaker 1: to do that every five minutes, but it was a
- 17:32Speaker 1: lot to do. She said that she made a comment
- 17:36Speaker 1: to the team about the system, during which she told
- 17:38Speaker 1: Oceangate what she thought was an idiotic way to do
- 17:41Speaker 1: your navigation, and she said she recognized calling the method
- 17:45Speaker 1: idiotic wasn't the most tactful way to communicate your concerns,
- 17:48Speaker 1: but she says she stands by it. Yeah, technology.
- 17:58Speaker 3: Got compass and a sex stem and you're good.
- 18:00Speaker 1: Yeah. I think even saw the other day that I
- 18:03Speaker 1: guess all this new information is coming up because they're
- 18:05Speaker 1: having these hearings now. And the other day I saw
- 18:07Speaker 1: another headline that said someone on the communications team with
- 18:11Speaker 1: the sub said the last thing they heard from inside
- 18:14Speaker 1: the sub was we're all good down here. Look when
- 18:19Speaker 1: you when you get when you get imploaded like that
- 18:22Speaker 1: and on a deep pressurization thing, you know, you don't know,
- 18:27Speaker 1: you don't know what's happening. Yeah, don't even think we
- 18:28Speaker 1: talked about this before, when we first talked about when
- 18:31Speaker 1: this happened. It happened so fast that your brain can
- 18:35Speaker 1: even register something happening. The best you might get is
- 18:38Speaker 1: you might remember that you blinked. That's it.
- 18:42Speaker 3: Yeah, No, it's they said, milliseconds, You're you're gone. I
- 18:45Speaker 3: mean it's I guess. If there's one bonus is that
- 18:50Speaker 3: no one suffered. I mean it was instantaneous.
- 18:52Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, it really is a hell of a
- 18:54Speaker 1: way to go. It does remind me, though, kind of
- 18:56Speaker 1: like in the cartoons when something happens and someone goes
- 18:59Speaker 1: into like a little meat nugget and then you see
- 19:01Speaker 1: like one I go blink, link, blink, blink, Like if
- 19:05Speaker 1: it was me, that's how I feel, like my last
- 19:07Speaker 1: that that would be my remains just a quick blink
- 19:09Speaker 1: blink and then nothing.
- 19:12Speaker 3: I just I the one, you know thing and you
- 19:15Speaker 3: expected to see anytime you have a hearing like that,
- 19:17Speaker 3: you know on some disasters, Yeah, there's always a person
- 19:22Speaker 3: going yeah, No, I knew. I told him it was
- 19:24Speaker 3: a bad idea.
- 19:27Speaker 1: Well, you're right, there is always Yeah, there's always that
- 19:30Speaker 1: one that's going on. I said, don't do it. I said,
- 19:32Speaker 1: don't go. I said, you should have used a PlayStation
- 19:35Speaker 1: controller instead of an Xbox, according to uh will Be.
- 19:40Speaker 1: According to her LinkedIn profile, she's worked on several projects
- 19:45Speaker 1: involving underwater remotely operated vehicles. She worked as a robotics
- 19:49Speaker 1: engineer for a maritime exploration company. She was also an
- 19:52Speaker 1: exploration roboticist and conservation technologist for a national geographic program.
- 19:57Speaker 1: And again this is according to her LinkedIn bio. My
- 20:01Speaker 1: question is if you were part of the team that
- 20:04Speaker 1: worked on the Titan sub with ocean Gate. Do you
- 20:07Speaker 1: put that on your resume or you just kind of
- 20:09Speaker 1: casually just leave that off.
- 20:12Speaker 3: I think that's one of those gaps in your resume
- 20:14Speaker 3: are like I was taking some time, you know, I
- 20:17Speaker 3: was burned out.
- 20:22Speaker 1: It does make for an interesting time, like for your
- 20:24Speaker 1: next interview when the hiring manager says, so, can you
- 20:27Speaker 1: explain this gap in your employment? I'd rather not. I
- 20:32Speaker 1: was taking some time for me.
- 20:34Speaker 3: I was decompressing.
- 20:35Speaker 1: Oh no, I'm so proud of you.
- 20:45Speaker 7: Right now, you're listening to the Treehouse.
- 21:00Speaker 9: Visit us online that Treehouse on air dot com.
- 21:10Speaker 1: Let's talk to Daniel Cook from COOKDFW Roofing and Restoration.
- 21:14Speaker 1: The phone number to contact him and Carrie Cook, very
- 21:17Speaker 1: talented duo in the roofing and remodeling and registration business.
- 21:24Speaker 1: Hat tip to U Steve from Offbeat The Lightside of
- 21:26Speaker 1: Law Enforcement. Restoration is the word you give them a
- 21:29Speaker 1: call eight three three Cookie DFW the website cookdfw dot com. Daniel,
- 21:33Speaker 1: how long is a roof? Supposed to last?
- 21:36Speaker 2: Manufacturers stopped using a terminology as far as an age
- 21:41Speaker 2: of a roof shingle because they used to have the
- 21:43Speaker 2: typical twenty twenty five thirty year even fifty year shingles,
- 21:48Speaker 2: and that's how they would advertise them.
- 21:49Speaker 1: And how long did they actually last.
- 21:51Speaker 2: Well, if you're in Texas, you know about the weather here,
- 21:53Speaker 2: So we go from zero to one hundred and fifteen.
- 21:56Speaker 2: We also have traumatic wins hell and all kinds of
- 21:58Speaker 2: other things beaten the craft out of your roof.
- 22:00Speaker 1: So the possibility exists you could buy a fifty year
- 22:04Speaker 1: roof and fifty days later you may need a new roof.
- 22:08Speaker 2: Absolutely, it does happen. I've heard horror stories. Personally in
- 22:12Speaker 2: our company, we have replaced a roof on two different
- 22:16Speaker 2: customers back to back years, So back to back years
- 22:19Speaker 2: they've had the roof for replace. Now I do know
- 22:21Speaker 2: some other owners of some companies though they've actually replaced
- 22:24Speaker 2: the roof in back to back months. So it does happen,
- 22:28Speaker 2: and unfortunately, the average life by insurance experts at seven
- 22:32Speaker 2: and a half years.
- 22:33Speaker 1: What would happen if you did a roof made out
- 22:36Speaker 1: of flubber?
- 22:38Speaker 2: Wow? Yeah, I mean that could be an idea. I
- 22:40Speaker 2: mean there are some roofs that are made of rubberized
- 22:43Speaker 2: material and different different items that there's so much experimentation
- 22:48Speaker 2: right now and roofing. They're trying to figure out how
- 22:50Speaker 2: to make it more durable, how can they last? But
- 22:52Speaker 2: then you're you're competing against not just one element, you're
- 22:54Speaker 2: competing against a multitude development. It'd be different. You know,
- 22:56Speaker 2: when you're in hurricane prone see areas, you make roofs
- 22:59Speaker 2: that blew away easy, right, But that's just not that's
- 23:03Speaker 2: just one of our issues here. So you gotta be
- 23:05Speaker 2: and you want them to be cosmetically nice looking.
- 23:07Speaker 1: Yep, they can't be hideous. And when you need a
- 23:10Speaker 1: new roof or you think that they might be in
- 23:12Speaker 1: need of some repair, you make sure and call Daniel Cook,
- 23:15Speaker 1: the expert that we trust. Inside the Treehouse eight three
- 23:18Speaker 1: three Cook DFW eight three three Cook DFW the website,
- 23:21Speaker 1: cookdfw dot com.
- 23:35Speaker 8: You're in the Treehouse, visit us online at the Treehouse
- 23:39Speaker 8: on air dot com.
- 23:42Speaker 1: It's taking time to decompress. I'm gonna be laughing about that.
- 23:46Speaker 1: Hell damn day she has to say that though right
- 23:53Speaker 1: in an interview. I mean, look and and and I
- 23:56Speaker 1: want this said if I was to die in that fashion,
- 23:58Speaker 1: because I know someone some going to hear that, because
- 24:01Speaker 1: I'm gonna put that on Instagram someone's going to say, well,
- 24:05Speaker 1: people died, it's not funny. Yes it is. And here's why.
- 24:10Speaker 1: If you die doing something that stupid, I'm gonna make
- 24:12Speaker 1: fun of it. If I die doing something that stupid,
- 24:16Speaker 1: I expect you to make fun of it. I'm okay
- 24:18Speaker 1: with it. If I had gotten into that sub and
- 24:23Speaker 1: saw that they were navigating it with pen, paper and
- 24:26Speaker 1: Excel spreadsheet and piloting it with an Xbox controller, I
- 24:32Speaker 1: would then start questioning things, and I would tell myself,
- 24:35Speaker 1: if I die, I deserve it because I'm doing something
- 24:40Speaker 1: that is inherently dangerous and humans are not meant to
- 24:43Speaker 1: go two miles below the surface of the earth, right,
- 24:50Speaker 1: So there's a you know, there's an element of expectation
- 24:52Speaker 1: that I may not come back. And if I don't,
- 24:54Speaker 1: and I get squished into a Looney Tunes meat nugget
- 24:57Speaker 1: and I go blink blink before I actually, you know,
- 24:59Speaker 1: fade to black, I want you to make fun of
- 25:01Speaker 1: me for it.
- 25:03Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely, I mean there was no one, no one
- 25:07Speaker 3: on that sub. That actually the one I feel sorry for.
- 25:10Speaker 3: There was a kid that was doing it like just
- 25:12Speaker 3: to make his his dad happy. It was like a
- 25:14Speaker 3: father's day gift other than that they were all They
- 25:17Speaker 3: paid like over two hundred and fifty thousand dollars to
- 25:20Speaker 3: be on that thing. And you know, again, yeah, inherently
- 25:25Speaker 3: risky going that deep you are in something that is
- 25:28Speaker 3: guided by an Xbox controller. And might I add, and
- 25:31Speaker 3: this is the thing that will always absolutely haunt me
- 25:34Speaker 3: about that whole thing is when it was going on,
- 25:37Speaker 3: they were talking about they there's no SKA patch like it.
- 25:42Speaker 3: You have to be unbolted from top side. So even
- 25:45Speaker 3: if they didn't decompress and they were floating in the ocean,
- 25:50Speaker 3: they could die, run out of oxygen, and there's nothing
- 25:52Speaker 3: they could do about it.
- 25:54Speaker 1: That's a whole lot of trust to put in your
- 25:55Speaker 1: fellow man. I don't trust people driving on six thirty five.
- 25:59Speaker 1: I'm sure is hell not gonna trust people trying to
- 26:01Speaker 1: take me to the bottom of the ocean and then
- 26:04Speaker 1: and then bust me out. If I were to make.
- 26:06Speaker 3: It back the bottom of the ocean to see something
- 26:09Speaker 3: that killed a bunch of people one hundred and ten
- 26:10Speaker 3: years earlier.
- 26:13Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, I mean again, if it happened to me,
- 26:17Speaker 1: I expect you to make fun of me, and I
- 26:19Speaker 1: offer my thumbs up and stamp of approval. Don't you worry.
- 26:26Speaker 1: You'll be right there with the decompression JOKESA. That's okay,
- 26:30Speaker 1: you know he was. Dan was looking for some me
- 26:33Speaker 1: time because he'd been under a lot of pressure. He
- 26:38Speaker 1: just needed to get away for a little bit, all right,
- 26:41Speaker 1: Speaking of people wanting to get away for a little bit, Trey,
- 26:45Speaker 1: do you know about purple apples? I do not. I'm
- 26:49Speaker 1: glad because I'm gonna tell you about purple apples. Some
- 26:52Speaker 1: people think purple apples exist, and I know you're going
- 26:56Speaker 1: to be stunned when I tell you that. The reason
- 26:58Speaker 1: people think purple apples exacts is because of the Internet.
- 27:03Speaker 1: There are no such thing as purple apples. But in
- 27:05Speaker 1: the age of artificial intelligence, people can be fooled. Specifically,
- 27:11Speaker 1: there is a message from Saskatchewan horticulturists. That's how specific
- 27:15Speaker 1: this is. Getting a message from Saskatchewan horticulturists after customers
- 27:21Speaker 1: have come into their stores hoping to buy purple apples
- 27:24Speaker 1: and purple apple trees, they said, We've had lots of
- 27:28Speaker 1: apples that have been developed in Saskatchewan, but none of
- 27:31Speaker 1: them are purple. They all have white flesh and red skin.
- 27:34Speaker 1: Thanks to a viral image that shows purple apples said
- 27:37Speaker 1: to originate from Saskatchewan. Some social media users are asking
- 27:42Speaker 1: the questions do purple apples exist? And where can we
- 27:44Speaker 1: get them? The image, posted to social media earlier this
- 27:48Speaker 1: month shows vibrant purple apples on a cutting board with
- 27:51Speaker 1: one cut in half that reveals the violet flesh of
- 27:54Speaker 1: the apple. The important thing to know here is that
- 27:57Speaker 1: purple apples are not real. Do not take a road
- 28:00Speaker 1: trip or fly to Saskatchewan and go into a store
- 28:04Speaker 1: and say, where can I get your purple apples?
- 28:13Speaker 3: I don't want to spoil the bit, so I'm just
- 28:14Speaker 3: gonna watch because I I is there a video here?
- 28:21Speaker 1: I guess I could show you.
- 28:22Speaker 3: No, no, I thought you were about to show a video,
- 28:24Speaker 3: because all I'm thinking is, please don't tell me. People
- 28:27Speaker 3: are like eating purple onions and red onions and.
- 28:32Speaker 1: That would actually be a funny prank to pull on
- 28:34Speaker 1: somebody that serves you, right, That's what I would do
- 28:38Speaker 1: if I was one of those Saskatchewan horticulturists, I would
- 28:41Speaker 1: hand them a red on your here you go, purple apple.
- 28:43Speaker 1: Yeah you enjoy you tell me how that tastes. Now,
- 28:48Speaker 1: this is one of the AI images of a quote
- 28:50Speaker 1: unquote purple apple. And I will say it's a very
- 28:55Speaker 1: realistic looking image of an apple of a perl color.
- 29:01Speaker 1: I get it, and we ultimately know who. We ultimately
- 29:07Speaker 1: know who's to blame, don't we. Aggie's yeah, and as
- 29:13Speaker 1: as a staunch ut alum, I'm sure you're going to
- 29:17Speaker 1: agree with that statement because look, Texas A and M
- 29:21Speaker 1: years ago turned a carrot maroon and now we have
- 29:25Speaker 1: different colored items, you know, all over the place. We
- 29:29Speaker 1: got purple apples now, and people are confused because a
- 29:32Speaker 1: maroon carrot exists. Multi colored carrots do exist because everyone
- 29:36Speaker 1: thought it was just orange. But you can, you know,
- 29:39Speaker 1: engineer certain things to look differently. But I guess no
- 29:43Speaker 1: one's actually done the purple apple. And why would you,
- 29:49Speaker 1: novelty sake? Maybe maybe TCUs looking for something to make
- 29:54Speaker 1: him feel better after getting blown out against SMU. It's
- 30:02Speaker 1: amazing that you know in.
- 30:05Speaker 3: And probably the same people you know would A lot
- 30:08Speaker 3: of people that are looking for purple ap apples don't
- 30:10Speaker 3: like GMOs.
- 30:14Speaker 1: That's an excellent point. I'm really into the purple apple trend.
- 30:19Speaker 1: You don't like genetically modified things? Oh yeah, there's a
- 30:25Speaker 1: little bit of a hypocrisy going on there and there.
- 30:29Speaker 1: I will say this, I know things happen these days
- 30:33Speaker 1: with artificial intelligence and photoshop, and things look very convincing.
- 30:38Speaker 1: A maroon carrot, that's a real thing. A purple apple
- 30:42Speaker 1: not a real thing. When you go to waffle house
- 30:44Speaker 1: at any time of day, like I've done, and you
- 30:47Speaker 1: ask for a blue waffle, don't be shocked if you
- 30:50Speaker 1: get one, but it's not the waffle you're thinking. If
- 31:01Speaker 1: you ask for the blue waffle. Yeah, if you ask
- 31:03Speaker 1: for the blue waffle at Leo's brunch House, they're not
- 31:05Speaker 1: going to know what you're talking about. You asked for
- 31:07Speaker 1: the waffle house, you go and get it, and you're
- 31:12Speaker 1: gonna be full of regress.
- 31:13Speaker 3: Yeah, and your life will never be the same.
- 31:21Speaker 7: You're in the tree House.
- 31:23Speaker 8: Visit us online at Treehouse on air dot com.
- 31:40Speaker 7: You're listening to the Treehouse.
- 31:42Speaker 9: Visit us online at Treehouse on air dot com.
- 31:51Speaker 1: The previous segment of the tree House is brought to
- 31:53Speaker 1: you by Brooks Plumbing for all your plumbing wants in it.
- 31:56Speaker 1: It's called Brooks Plumbing at two, one, four, three, eight
- 32:00Speaker 1: thirty eight thirty eight. That's two one four, three six,
- 32:02Speaker 1: eight thirty eight thirty eight. Again for any and all
- 32:05Speaker 1: of those plumbing wants and needs called Jacqueline at Brooks
- 32:07Speaker 1: Plumbing two one four three six eight thirty eight thirty
- 32:09Speaker 1: eight the website Brooks Plumbingtexas dot com. Speaking of plumbing, Trey,
- 32:14Speaker 1: you uh, you sent me an interesting video from Instagram.
- 32:18Speaker 1: You want to try to describe this video for the
- 32:20Speaker 1: for the good people, no fining. You make me do it? Okayeh,
- 32:28Speaker 1: all right, I will since I haven't had a chance
- 32:30Speaker 1: to upload this to then do the share screen thing.
- 32:33Speaker 1: Is going to do this on the fly, even though
- 32:35Speaker 1: it's underwater. That uh, I know what this is? Okay,
- 32:46Speaker 1: This is a BBM. This is a big beautiful mermaid.
- 32:54Speaker 1: There is a lady who appears to be uh in
- 32:59Speaker 1: a human size fish tank. I think she's doing a
- 33:03Speaker 1: photo shoot. She's got a silver skinned mermaid suit on
- 33:10Speaker 1: at the waist and a brown bra with gold seashells
- 33:18Speaker 1: on the bosom, and she seems to be enjoying herself
- 33:25Speaker 1: lightly drowning inside this human fish tank. And again I
- 33:28Speaker 1: think she's doing this for a photo shoot. Maybe this
- 33:30Speaker 1: is for like, I don't know, engagement photos. Or some
- 33:35Speaker 1: type of weird roleplay I'm not aware of yet. I
- 33:39Speaker 1: will say this, it doesn't seem to be something that
- 33:43Speaker 1: someone does on a daily basis. I will say though,
- 33:46Speaker 1: that this larger lady in the mermaid outfit looks very
- 33:52Speaker 1: demure for a mermaid, for a mermaid. Okay, yeah, she
- 33:58Speaker 1: makes the tank look small, does he does? But here's
- 34:01Speaker 1: the other thing I just noticed. Also, the tank is
- 34:05Speaker 1: is on a trailer. You see the wheels, Ah, there's
- 34:09Speaker 1: wheels underneath. So this is a lovely lady dressed as
- 34:15Speaker 1: a mermaid and a human sized water tank on a trailer.
- 34:18Speaker 1: So she's going places. Maybe she's going to the park,
- 34:25Speaker 1: maybe maybe get some time in with the kids. Friday, man,
- 34:31Speaker 1: I tell you what, they got tickets for just about everything.
- 34:35Speaker 1: I just hope that there's not a deep fried Mermaid
- 34:37Speaker 1: on the menu somewhere, because I don't I don't think
- 34:44Speaker 1: the judges of the Big Text Choice Awards would have
- 34:46Speaker 1: been prepared for deep fried mermaid. You know this or
- 34:50Speaker 1: in this case, I mean, it looks pretty fresh. It
- 34:52Speaker 1: could have been you know, mermaid sushi sashimi. How'd you
- 34:57Speaker 1: know her name.
- 35:03Speaker 3: Was that? In the caption, did you read the Captionshimi Wabi.
- 35:13Speaker 1: Well, I can easily say I feel like I've seen
- 35:15Speaker 1: it all today. Thank you Trey for sending me that
- 35:18Speaker 1: I appreciate. You're enjoy all things Treehouse at Treehouse on
