- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to Bill Handle on demand from KFI AM
- 0:04Speaker 1: six forty.
- 0:09Speaker 2: I know, I am out of here, young keeper, which
- 0:15Speaker 2: I have never worked my entire life. So I'm taking
- 0:19Speaker 2: off the day and Neil, of course it's in for me.
- 0:21Speaker 2: And then on Friday I'm back again where we do
- 0:25Speaker 2: the show and nothing changes.
- 0:28Speaker 1: And now Handle on the news. Ladies and gentlemen, here's
- 0:32Speaker 1: not Bill Handle.
- 0:34Speaker 3: Wow.
- 0:34Speaker 4: He is a captain of fluency. Eloquent that comes to mind, and.
- 0:41Speaker 5: I stand when I pay sometimes. Today is a day
- 0:49Speaker 5: I'm Bill Hayden KFI AM six forty live everywhere on
- 0:53Speaker 5: the iHeartRadio app.
- 0:55Speaker 3: Good Morning.
- 0:58Speaker 4: It's yom kipper day of a tonement and where practicing
- 1:04Speaker 4: and nonpracticing Jews all over the world spend time atoning.
- 1:10Speaker 4: I think they're supposed to fast as well, I remember correctly.
- 1:15Speaker 4: I don't know if Handle's doing that, but he took
- 1:19Speaker 4: the day off, and I thought Anne was joking yesterday
- 1:21Speaker 4: when she was taking and she's off today too.
- 1:25Speaker 6: I did too.
- 1:26Speaker 7: I didn't find out about it until yesterday afternoon I
- 1:29Speaker 7: started doing show prep.
- 1:29Speaker 6: I'm like, oh, he too. Anne is off well.
- 1:33Speaker 4: I sent her some stories and she said I wasn't joking.
- 1:38Speaker 4: So we're happy to have Matthew here with us. I
- 1:41Speaker 4: adore the man. He's very fun to work with.
- 1:45Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 1:46Speaker 4: Just a hard working kid does his job. I think
- 1:50Speaker 4: Cono can learn something from him. And it's weird to
- 1:53Speaker 4: see someone with work ethic.
- 1:55Speaker 3: I know it freaks and look it.
- 1:57Speaker 4: No cap nothing, no cap about his cap is what
- 2:02Speaker 4: I'm saying for the kids. Uh, Cono flashing gang signs.
- 2:07Speaker 4: I don't listen to. I don't live in San Borduna.
- 2:09Speaker 4: I don't know what that means.
- 2:11Speaker 6: But at six am, Neil six six and five. Yeah,
- 2:15Speaker 6: let's not start that way.
- 2:17Speaker 8: Good morning, mom, but good morning, I warm up. You're
- 2:19Speaker 8: a great host and a great human.
- 2:23Speaker 3: I swear you're like my little brother. I love it.
- 2:26Speaker 3: I'm gonna give you noogies, give you noogies. No, who's
- 2:30Speaker 3: going to get a niggie? Not that guy. Let's not
- 2:33Speaker 3: be a Cono. Let's be a co yes today, Okay,
- 2:36Speaker 3: let's do it. I haven't heard that one before.
- 2:38Speaker 6: No, I haven't heard that one before.
- 2:42Speaker 3: Well, you know that Kno is a Mexican. Not a Mexican.
- 2:47Speaker 3: That's true.
- 2:48Speaker 4: Yeah, that's true. Together, we make a whole Mexican. That's true.
- 2:54Speaker 4: We make one Mexican. Growing up, we were part of
- 2:57Speaker 4: the half breed crew, because yeah, which is which is?
- 3:00Speaker 3: Let me tell you.
- 3:01Speaker 6: What's your other half? Kna Uh Well I never did
- 3:04Speaker 6: the twenty three and me.
- 3:05Speaker 3: But just I think just like.
- 3:07Speaker 8: A white, like generic, generic white guy. I have no clue,
- 3:11Speaker 8: no European stuff. I mean, my dad thought he was
- 3:15Speaker 8: Mexican until he was like twenty years old. So and
- 3:18Speaker 8: then he realized he's not.
- 3:21Speaker 6: Hmm, I'm not going to make it.
- 3:24Speaker 3: So area.
- 3:27Speaker 6: Oh, and all of a sudden, we can't hear Neil.
- 3:30Speaker 3: Oh that's me. Wasn't he a cop? Yeah?
- 3:33Speaker 4: He was thirty years Pomona. Wow, Pomona, Wow, Pomona. That's
- 3:39Speaker 4: the real deal.
- 3:40Speaker 8: Yeah, especially in the eighties, it was very light. He
- 3:45Speaker 8: lived a long life.
- 3:47Speaker 4: Thank you for your service, sir. And the good thing
- 3:50Speaker 4: is he's also team Neil. That's the word on the street.
- 3:54Speaker 4: He is like most cops.
- 3:56Speaker 8: Yeah, most cops do choose Team Neil over team for.
- 4:00Speaker 4: Sure, which is good on pro law enforcement. So that's good.
- 4:03Speaker 4: It does good to my heart.
- 4:05Speaker 3: All right. I know it's a holiday and all of
- 4:07Speaker 3: that for many.
- 4:10Speaker 4: But how about we dip our toe in a little
- 4:12Speaker 4: bit of that handle on the news lead story.
- 4:15Speaker 3: I came too shut it down, shut it down down.
- 4:19Speaker 3: I came to shut it day dose.
- 4:22Speaker 4: Bipartisan talks on reopening the government.
- 4:27Speaker 3: Maybe are materializing.
- 4:30Speaker 4: Keep in mind, and we'll talk about this a little
- 4:31Speaker 4: bit later coming up. But the middle ground really and
- 4:36Speaker 4: Amy jump in if I'm speaking incorrectly here, but it's
- 4:41Speaker 4: really about Obamacare and tax credits, right, that's the stickler
- 4:45Speaker 4: in the middle of it.
- 4:46Speaker 7: Yeah, So the Republicans passed a continuing resolution. They say
- 4:50Speaker 7: what they want to keep talking although nobody's been talking,
- 4:54Speaker 7: but they want to extend it for like seven more weeks.
- 4:56Speaker 7: And this is the same one that was passed back
- 4:58Speaker 7: in March. And now the Democrats are saying, no, we
- 5:03Speaker 7: want to add, we want to extend this, want we
- 5:07Speaker 7: want to reverse some cuts to Medicare and Medicaid, and
- 5:09Speaker 7: it also has to do with Obamacare and subsidies.
- 5:15Speaker 3: So true.
- 5:16Speaker 4: Yeah, So they're saying they saw just a tiny bit
- 5:21Speaker 4: of hope. I mean, nobody's everybody digs their heels, and
- 5:24Speaker 4: that's kind of what happens, especially now and especially with Trump.
- 5:28Speaker 4: This happened last time he was president, and you can say, oh, well,
- 5:32Speaker 4: he's just a big bully and a lughead and all
- 5:35Speaker 4: those things. But the reality is you could also say
- 5:38Speaker 4: that he knows what he wants and he doesn't want
- 5:41Speaker 4: to bend. So who knows how that's going to be.
- 5:44Speaker 4: But the glimmer of hope was that they saw some
- 5:47Speaker 4: folks on the floor, about a dozen senators huddled on
- 5:50Speaker 4: the floor, and that was the first thing they saw
- 5:54Speaker 4: by partisan kind of engagement. We'll see if that turns anything. Today,
- 5:59Speaker 4: of course, is day two, and we'll get into a
- 6:02Speaker 4: little bit of what to expect because we hear these
- 6:05Speaker 4: things and we've heard them many times. A government shut down.
- 6:08Speaker 4: What does that mean. Well, there's some real people affected.
- 6:11Speaker 4: There's a lot of TSA agents and the like that
- 6:13Speaker 4: are working without pay right now. You know, there's a
- 6:17Speaker 4: lot of jobs out there that you can't just drop
- 6:21Speaker 4: and say okay bye.
- 6:23Speaker 6: And they they will get paid.
- 6:25Speaker 7: Well, of course, they're just working without a paycheck now,
- 6:28Speaker 7: which you know, I think that's it's a huge thing,
- 6:31Speaker 7: especially because there's so many people because that are living
- 6:34Speaker 7: kind of paycheck to paycheck right now. So if you
- 6:36Speaker 7: don't get the paycheck what do you do and hopefully
- 6:40Speaker 7: that hopefully it's not going to.
- 6:42Speaker 4: Last outside that that that will throw off your flow
- 6:46Speaker 4: and if you you know, everybody likes balance in those things,
- 6:50Speaker 4: but you know, you want you want to rhythm in life.
- 6:54Speaker 4: So we'll see how this continues to go. But we'll
- 6:57Speaker 4: break down a little bit more coming up later on
- 7:00Speaker 4: what the government shut down is all about and how
- 7:03Speaker 4: it's going to be affecting us here at all.
- 7:08Speaker 7: Oh, it's my turn, yeah, okay, yeah, I hate this.
- 7:11Speaker 7: The crazies are not only in the US.
- 7:14Speaker 6: There was.
- 7:17Speaker 7: A car ramming and a stabbing today in Manchester outside
- 7:22Speaker 7: a synagogue, of course, comes on yam Kapur. Two people
- 7:26Speaker 7: have been killed and three others were seriously wounded. Police
- 7:31Speaker 7: are saying that a guy tried to plow into a
- 7:35Speaker 7: crowd outside a synagogue in Manchester at about nine thirty
- 7:40Speaker 7: this morning local time and then got out and stabbed somebody.
- 7:44Speaker 7: Apparently he was trying to get into the building but
- 7:46Speaker 7: wasn't able to get into the synagogue and was shot
- 7:50Speaker 7: and killed by police.
- 7:53Speaker 4: Yeah, that's it brings me back to the core of concern.
- 7:59Speaker 4: Everybody's worried about the weapon at hand and I get it.
- 8:03Speaker 4: Guns are dangerous and you can take out more people
- 8:05Speaker 4: with a gun, but the reality is we need to
- 8:07Speaker 4: find out why people want to kill others. That's the
- 8:12Speaker 4: big problem, because if I got stabbed to death, or
- 8:16Speaker 4: if I got ran over by a car, I wouldn't
- 8:18Speaker 4: go Thank god it wasn't from a gun.
- 8:22Speaker 3: It's just not how life works.
- 8:24Speaker 4: The fact that we're wanting to take each other's life
- 8:28Speaker 4: is the problem.
- 8:29Speaker 3: And we have a major.
- 8:31Speaker 4: Mental health problem, not only in the United States apparently,
- 8:34Speaker 4: but also there in the UK. So White House federal
- 8:38Speaker 4: government will soon begin layoffs. We heard about this. We
- 8:42Speaker 4: are just talking about the government shutdown. We're on day two.
- 8:47Speaker 4: The likelihood to me is probably tomorrow. If it extends
- 8:52Speaker 4: into tomorrow, I think Friday is when you're going to
- 8:55Speaker 4: start hearing about layoffs.
- 8:56Speaker 3: That's my guess.
- 8:57Speaker 4: Well it was.
- 8:58Speaker 7: Interesting too because I was talking to Karen Travers with
- 9:01Speaker 7: ABC earlier and they had Vice President Vance came out
- 9:06Speaker 7: and he said, hey, we're looking at it. Probably not
- 9:09Speaker 7: nothing imminent, right, it's going to be a couple of
- 9:11Speaker 7: weeks away. And then Press Secretary of Caroline love It
- 9:15Speaker 7: comes out and says, yeah, they're imminent.
- 9:18Speaker 6: Like, dude, got to get on the same page on
- 9:20Speaker 6: this one. Again. It's going to affect so many people.
- 9:24Speaker 4: Isn't it kind of like good cop, dumb cop?
- 9:27Speaker 3: Yeah? What are we doing?
- 9:29Speaker 4: I don't know. Yeah, but this is an interesting administration
- 9:33Speaker 4: when it comes to the fact that oftentimes there's at
- 9:37Speaker 4: least two, sometimes three different point of views coming out
- 9:40Speaker 4: from the same mouth. I mean, as far as being
- 9:44Speaker 4: communicative that way, I think it's.
- 9:45Speaker 7: Because things change that fast, and I think Trump changes
- 9:51Speaker 7: his mind a lot.
- 9:52Speaker 3: Oh, I agree. I agree.
- 9:54Speaker 4: He's by the seat of his pants and he may
- 9:58Speaker 4: say one thing and then when he's in front of him,
- 10:00Speaker 4: I say another. I think that's absolutely legitimate. But it
- 10:04Speaker 4: still is happening and makes it look like it's it's
- 10:07Speaker 4: hard to follow.
- 10:08Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, he's hard to follow.
- 10:12Speaker 6: How about those boys in blue? Made me crack my voice?
- 10:19Speaker 7: The Dodgers one last night they beat the Cincinnati Reds
- 10:23Speaker 7: eight to four. Mookie went four for five, drove in
- 10:27Speaker 7: four runs. I think you had three doubles. So they
- 10:29Speaker 7: didn't have a ton of home runs last night like
- 10:32Speaker 7: they did the night before, but they still were able
- 10:34Speaker 7: to rack up the score and beat Cincinnati. And now
- 10:38Speaker 7: they're off to Philadelphia. National League Division Series starts Saturday.
- 10:45Speaker 7: You got nothing to say about that, Neil. You've turned
- 10:47Speaker 7: off your microphone again, haven't you. Yeah?
- 10:49Speaker 4: Sorry, I fidget. I fidget. I've always done that since
- 10:52Speaker 4: I'm going.
- 10:52Speaker 6: To get you fidget one of those fidgets.
- 10:54Speaker 3: Then I play with my on and off button that
- 10:57Speaker 3: came it does.
- 10:59Speaker 6: Oh it came out wrong.
- 11:00Speaker 4: Sorry. AnyWho do you watch every game?
- 11:05Speaker 2: Do you?
- 11:06Speaker 1: Well?
- 11:06Speaker 7: I listen to every game. I listen on the iHeartRadio
- 11:09Speaker 7: app because the game last night, Yes sports that's the one,
- 11:15Speaker 7: and it's it's a fabulous way to participate in a game,
- 11:20Speaker 7: especially when you don't have ESPN and that's the only
- 11:23Speaker 7: place that was airing last night.
- 11:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:25Speaker 4: I like listening to games too. I just think it's
- 11:27Speaker 4: really good for your brain. Yeah, picture everything that's going on.
- 11:31Speaker 4: But yeah, I don't watch every game. Well, not a
- 11:35Speaker 4: big sports ball guy.
- 11:37Speaker 7: Well, it's the Dodgers and you can watch on Saturday
- 11:39Speaker 7: afternoon when they're in Philadelphia.
- 11:42Speaker 4: I kind of have a thing, kind of a thing
- 11:44Speaker 4: I do every Saturday afternoon.
- 11:46Speaker 6: Oh there's a show or something.
- 11:48Speaker 4: Yep, KFI AM six forty live everywhere on the iHeartRadio.
- 11:53Speaker 4: App Good Thursday morning to you. Neil Savada in the
- 11:57Speaker 4: morning crew here handles taking his Jewish hall Day off
- 12:00Speaker 4: even though he's secular as hell and married to a
- 12:04Speaker 4: Shiksa and he's just uh, I don't know, he's just
- 12:08Speaker 4: one of the boys in my eyes, but he is out. Oh, Amy,
- 12:16Speaker 4: you and your puns. My goodness, Amy K. King and
- 12:21Speaker 4: I with the handle on the news this morning. Amy says,
- 12:25Speaker 4: things that go bump in the night, in this case,
- 12:31Speaker 4: two airplanes, if it happened at night. You got two
- 12:34Speaker 4: Delta Airline planes that collided. And this is when they're
- 12:38Speaker 4: taxing there in New York's La Guardia. Yeah, I know,
- 12:42Speaker 4: it's uh, this happened last night. So it did happen
- 12:46Speaker 4: at night, leaving one flight attendant injured and forcing dozens
- 12:50Speaker 4: of passengers to plane. You had two flights. One was
- 12:55Speaker 4: departing for Roanoke, Virginia, and it got struck or it
- 13:01Speaker 4: struck the nose of another flight that just arrived from Charlotte,
- 13:05Speaker 4: North Carolina. They call it a low speed collision, thank god.
- 13:09Speaker 4: But you know, I remember in high school I took
- 13:13Speaker 4: a bus to you know, to and Fro and the
- 13:18Speaker 4: woman who drove the bus was hilarious. She was constantly talking,
- 13:21Speaker 4: yelling at other drivers and stuff, and she would say
- 13:25Speaker 4: if somebody cut her off, she's like, oh, sorry, sorry,
- 13:28Speaker 4: that's my fault. You probably didn't see the huge yellow bus.
- 13:34Speaker 4: And that's all I can think about. When I hear
- 13:36Speaker 4: like two planes getting close, it's like, really, how do you? Yeah, massive,
- 13:43Speaker 4: massive vehicles, And I get it, they're a limited view.
- 13:47Speaker 4: They're not made for driving. They're made for flying where
- 13:50Speaker 4: there should be some distance. But you always go like,
- 13:53Speaker 4: how do you not see another plane?
- 13:58Speaker 3: I don't know. I'm not a pie. You'd have to
- 14:00Speaker 3: ask Gary Hoffman.
- 14:02Speaker 7: But yeah, she's moving out and she is. Hurricane Amelda
- 14:11Speaker 7: weakening after rolling through Bermuda. It brought a lot of
- 14:18Speaker 7: rain and powerful winds to the islands as a Category
- 14:22Speaker 7: two storm, and now she's passed over the top of
- 14:26Speaker 7: Bermuda and has weakened to a Category one hurricane as
- 14:31Speaker 7: it continues.
- 14:32Speaker 6: To move out into the Atlantic.
- 14:33Speaker 7: Amelda is the ninth named storm of the twenty twenty
- 14:37Speaker 7: five Atlantic hurricane season.
- 14:40Speaker 3: Already number nine. What is that.
- 14:42Speaker 6: Already it's October?
- 14:45Speaker 3: I guess you're right, But when.
- 14:47Speaker 7: Is Hurricane se you know, we were just talking a
- 14:48Speaker 7: couple of weeks ago that it was like there.
- 14:52Speaker 6: Hadn't been any, there hadn't been many, and then all of.
- 14:55Speaker 7: A sudden, we've had five or six in the last
- 14:58Speaker 7: just very short period of time.
- 15:00Speaker 4: It seems like you can put all the disasters in
- 15:04Speaker 4: the middle of the room, and I will natural disasters
- 15:08Speaker 4: and I'll pick earthquakes every time.
- 15:11Speaker 7: Yeah, Hurricane season runs actually from June first to November thirtieth.
- 15:17Speaker 3: All right, Jane goodall sad news.
- 15:19Speaker 4: I mean, lived a wonderful life, for sure, but you
- 15:22Speaker 4: hate when the good ones go. She was a renowned
- 15:25Speaker 4: conservative at conservationist. Rather died at ninety one. It seems,
- 15:30Speaker 4: you know, the good old message of peacefully natural causes,
- 15:34Speaker 4: peacefully in your sleep. She was here in California to
- 15:38Speaker 4: do a speaking engagement in Pasadena.
- 15:40Speaker 3: I believe m M. But uh.
- 15:45Speaker 4: She is just an amazing human being. And I have
- 15:50Speaker 4: some thoughts on that. We'll break down a little bit
- 15:52Speaker 4: about her life coming up in the next hour, and
- 15:56Speaker 4: some thoughts on what makes people like that stand out?
- 15:59Speaker 4: What is about them where they can pretty much be
- 16:05Speaker 4: across the board. People see and appreciate them for what
- 16:10Speaker 4: they do. They're not a political figure, although I'm sure
- 16:13Speaker 4: they have to deal with political issues with their causes
- 16:16Speaker 4: or focus. But there's just something about them makes them
- 16:20Speaker 4: stand or feel like they stand taller than the rest
- 16:22Speaker 4: of us. And we'll talk about that coming up in
- 16:24Speaker 4: just a little bit.
- 16:27Speaker 6: What's worth taking all your clothes off for in public?
- 16:30Speaker 3: Anything?
- 16:32Speaker 6: Pena eminem For this fifty five year old. It was.
- 16:39Speaker 7: In protest of the district's policies on transgender students' restroom
- 16:43Speaker 7: and locker room access. She's an lgbt LGBTQ plus activist.
- 16:50Speaker 6: Took off most of her clothes during a school board meeting.
- 16:54Speaker 6: Didn't like that. Whatever their policies are, and what was that?
- 16:58Speaker 3: What were we learning there?
- 17:00Speaker 6: I'm not sure she's held up.
- 17:04Speaker 7: Oh, she held up a gym uniform, suggested that middle
- 17:07Speaker 7: school students are uncomfortable in locker rooms where they have
- 17:10Speaker 7: to change in front of their transgender classmates.
- 17:16Speaker 3: And so she changed in front of everybody.
- 17:20Speaker 7: I guess, and she removed her top, revealing a sportspra
- 17:23Speaker 7: in forming the board that she wanted to give them
- 17:25Speaker 7: an idea of what it looks like.
- 17:29Speaker 3: Huh m.
- 17:34Speaker 4: Okay, fair enough, We uh I think we're a little
- 17:39Speaker 4: weak on the protesting in this country. The whole sitting
- 17:43Speaker 4: in front of cars, blocking freeways, taking your clothes.
- 17:47Speaker 6: Off, singing songs.
- 17:49Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't. I don't know. It's like we need
- 17:52Speaker 3: a class on protesting. Probably.
- 17:55Speaker 7: Well, I'd rather have that than you know what happened
- 17:57Speaker 7: after George Floyd when they were burning down cities.
- 18:01Speaker 4: Yeah, but I was that really part of the protest
- 18:04Speaker 4: or was that just wing nuts and and Antifa and
- 18:09Speaker 4: all of that business. I don't know, Amy, you had
- 18:15Speaker 4: a quick correction.
- 18:16Speaker 7: So the woman who strips down at the school board meeting,
- 18:20Speaker 7: she was actually an anti LGBTQ plus activist, and so
- 18:24Speaker 7: she took her clothes off. She started stripping down and
- 18:27Speaker 7: said it makes people uncomfortable, and so that she started
- 18:30Speaker 7: taking her clothes off and basically said, see this is
- 18:32Speaker 7: what you would be exposed to. That's something to that effect. Yes, okay,
- 18:37Speaker 7: So I just wanted to clarify I made it worse,
- 18:39Speaker 7: Amy K.
- 18:40Speaker 3: King, I should have caught that.
- 18:43Speaker 6: You should have.
- 18:44Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm a son of a bitch. We need fact checkers, Yeah,
- 18:48Speaker 4: and ask me. But yeah, that makes more sense. I
- 18:52Speaker 4: don't know, you know, I get it if you as
- 18:54Speaker 4: a parent. I have an eight year old and and
- 18:59Speaker 4: I'm obviously concerned as to what he's exposed to. But
- 19:04Speaker 4: LGBTQ writes, I think get complex when you get into
- 19:12Speaker 4: trans discussions and the whole anti LGBTQ stuff. As an
- 19:20Speaker 4: American does is I would hate to be called that,
- 19:24Speaker 4: by the way, an anti lgbt It just seems an American,
- 19:30Speaker 4: all Righty, David the singer with the four in his name,
- 19:35Speaker 4: his manager brings silence. And this is a horrible story story.
- 19:39Speaker 4: Celeste Reevas, if you remember, is the name of the
- 19:43Speaker 4: young girl fifteen years old, at the center of the
- 19:49Speaker 4: death investigation as to why she was found in the
- 19:54Speaker 4: trunk of the tesla that's owned by David the singer.
- 20:01Speaker 4: And there's a lot of questions here. I mean, it
- 20:04Speaker 4: does seem obvious, but often that's why you have good
- 20:08Speaker 4: law enforcement, because it's not always as obvious.
- 20:11Speaker 3: But now his.
- 20:14Speaker 4: Manager is coming out, John Marshall. He's publicly denied any
- 20:18Speaker 4: involvement in the death of the fifteen year old girl,
- 20:20Speaker 4: Celeste Revs Hernandez. Her teenage body was ruled a homicide.
- 20:27Speaker 4: And it's crazy because it's gross, but it was so
- 20:32Speaker 4: decomposed and she was dismembered that it was very hard
- 20:37Speaker 4: for them to even find a cause of death. And
- 20:40Speaker 4: so they're still doing the investigation. But Marshall, who owns
- 20:44Speaker 4: a record label and media company called Mogul Vision, went
- 20:49Speaker 4: on TikTok to address the comments that he was involved.
- 20:52Speaker 3: He says he was not.
- 20:59Speaker 6: No, nobody needs we're.
- 21:01Speaker 3: So judging this morning.
- 21:02Speaker 4: We keep pausing and going h ah.
- 21:06Speaker 7: I just think it's gonna be interesting to see how
- 21:08Speaker 7: this all plays out, because, like you said, on the
- 21:10Speaker 7: face of it, it looks very obvious, like there are
- 21:14Speaker 7: so many indicators, like but it's all circumstantial stuff like
- 21:18Speaker 7: that he wrote this David Guy wrote a murder anime
- 21:22Speaker 7: song or something like that.
- 21:24Speaker 4: The weird thing is, we're so used to, you know,
- 21:27Speaker 4: television procedurals, the cop shows and stuff, and we hear
- 21:32Speaker 4: terms like circumstantial evidence. The vast majority, the vast majority
- 21:38Speaker 4: of cases that are tried in the United States are circumstantial.
- 21:42Speaker 4: It's not it doesn't mean that it's weak evidence. It
- 21:46Speaker 4: is just a different type of evidence. Yeah, and in
- 21:49Speaker 4: this particular case, it does look weird unless the guy's
- 21:52Speaker 4: being framed that it all points to Hims.
- 21:55Speaker 3: The tattoo on her finger that's the same as.
- 21:58Speaker 4: His, anybody in the back of his cards. But there's
- 22:02Speaker 4: also a reason that that the cops haven't locked this
- 22:06Speaker 4: guy up.
- 22:06Speaker 6: Yet either, have not even detained him.
- 22:10Speaker 3: Yeah, so you know, people have more information.
- 22:14Speaker 6: Okay, I'll move on again. Nope, don't need to see these.
- 22:19Speaker 7: A judge in Idaho has blocked the release of some
- 22:24Speaker 7: of the graphic photos taken by investigators after Brian Coberger
- 22:28Speaker 7: killed those four Universities of Idaho's students.
- 22:32Speaker 6: They The judge.
- 22:33Speaker 7: Ruled that the release would cause extreme emotional distress for
- 22:36Speaker 7: the victims' families and that it outweighs the public's interest
- 22:40Speaker 7: in how the investigation was conducted or the scrutiny on
- 22:44Speaker 7: how the government acted. She ordered the city of Moscow
- 22:48Speaker 7: to black out portions of the images that show any
- 22:51Speaker 7: part of the victim's bodies or the blood immediately surrounding them.
- 22:54Speaker 7: Apparently it was very gruesome and grizzly. The judge of
- 22:58Speaker 7: the public does have an interest in seeing an investigation records,
- 23:01Speaker 7: so other photos and videos and documents connected to the
- 23:04Speaker 7: case can be released.
- 23:07Speaker 4: You know, the thought of that there's some things you
- 23:10Speaker 4: can't unsee, and there's been many times. I mean, I've
- 23:14Speaker 4: worked in KFI for thirty years plus, and trust me,
- 23:19Speaker 4: there were times where we saw stuff that was not
- 23:24Speaker 4: given to the public and you can't unsee that stuff.
- 23:28Speaker 4: And it's pretty heinous, and I don't want to get
- 23:31Speaker 4: too graphic, but I want you to understand something about
- 23:34Speaker 4: how our bodies work. After we saw Charlie Kirk shot
- 23:38Speaker 4: in the neck and everybody's like, holy hell, our bodies
- 23:43Speaker 4: roughly have about a gallon or so of blood in them.
- 23:47Speaker 4: And when you think about that, you think us, that
- 23:48Speaker 4: doesn't sound like a lot. Drop a full gallon of
- 23:52Speaker 4: milk on the floor, and imagine just how bloody murder
- 23:58Speaker 4: scenes can get, especially with multiple people. And the thought
- 24:02Speaker 4: of seeing all of that is completely unnecessary, I would
- 24:08Speaker 4: imagine at this point, because that's just it's decided.
- 24:11Speaker 6: He admitted he did it.
- 24:13Speaker 4: Yeah, there's no there's nothing that can be gained by that.
- 24:17Speaker 4: And I think we continue to get a little desensitized
- 24:23Speaker 4: for some of those things because everybody's on a hunt
- 24:26Speaker 4: and now you can get it on your your cell
- 24:27Speaker 4: phone to see all kinds of things happening. Anybody remember
- 24:32Speaker 4: back in the day VHS days, the movie Faces of Death.
- 24:40Speaker 3: Co noo gets a nod on that one at tracks.
- 24:44Speaker 4: Didn't they show that in drive ins in sand Burdu
- 24:47Speaker 4: wasn't that?
- 24:48Speaker 3: Like?
- 24:48Speaker 2: So?
- 24:49Speaker 8: Yeah, it was that, And then the early internet was
- 24:52Speaker 8: the pain Olympics was another one.
- 24:55Speaker 3: Oh, it was horrific the things that you saw. And
- 24:57Speaker 3: I remember that.
- 24:58Speaker 4: I you know, I was pretty kid when someone popped
- 25:01Speaker 4: that in and I watched very little of it, and
- 25:04Speaker 4: I'm like, no, I'm out. I don't need to somewhere
- 25:07Speaker 4: like police shootings, you know, where there's an obvious bad guy,
- 25:11Speaker 4: and so you're like, uh, you can. But some of
- 25:14Speaker 4: it was just like no, I don't need to watch
- 25:17Speaker 4: somebody off themselves or anything like that. All right, So
- 25:22Speaker 4: we all remember nine to eleven the attacks kind of
- 25:27Speaker 4: a big deal here. Seems like sometimes we get so
- 25:31Speaker 4: distant from things we forget about them. But you have
- 25:35Speaker 4: a US judge just yesterday blocking the federal government from
- 25:38Speaker 4: diverting or withdrawing thirty four million dollars in funding to
- 25:43Speaker 4: protect New York's transportation system from terrorist attacks. I don't know,
- 25:49Speaker 4: I mean cuts or cuts. I get it, but I
- 25:51Speaker 4: don't know why you would want to take money away
- 25:56Speaker 4: from this particular cause in that particular city that has
- 26:00Speaker 4: had it's more than its share of terrorist attacks. Seems
- 26:07Speaker 4: strange for a strange place to cut.
- 26:13Speaker 7: Ooh, look what's getting a makeover? Your driver license? The
- 26:18Speaker 7: California it serves.
- 26:19Speaker 3: A new.
- 26:21Speaker 7: California Department of Motor Vehicles has revealed a new design
- 26:24Speaker 7: for its driver licenses and ID cards. It will include
- 26:29Speaker 7: images of California's iconic redwoods poppies and the coastline poppy Puppy.
- 26:36Speaker 7: Also has enhanced security measures, like a digital security signature
- 26:41Speaker 7: on one of the two barcodes on the back of
- 26:42Speaker 7: the card won't have a magnetic strip anymore. The fee
- 26:46Speaker 7: for the driver license is going to remain at forty
- 26:48Speaker 7: five dollars, and ID card costs to thirty nine dollars.
- 26:52Speaker 7: The last time the card was made available with the
- 26:54Speaker 7: new design and security features was in twenty ten, and
- 26:58Speaker 7: then also got a bit of an upgrade in twenty
- 27:00Speaker 7: eighteen when they implemented real ID.
- 27:03Speaker 4: You know, the real ID thing was hitting during COVID
- 27:06Speaker 4: if you remember.
- 27:07Speaker 6: Oh yeah, the original deadlines right yeah, between.
- 27:09Speaker 4: Originals, original original deadline. So I've got a tiny little boy,
- 27:16Speaker 4: my wife's working and I have to go drag his
- 27:20Speaker 4: poor butt too into the DMV to get my photo,
- 27:26Speaker 4: and all of that stuff. You could only go in
- 27:29Speaker 4: one at a time. You had all this distance between
- 27:32Speaker 4: you standing outside of the DMV. I it was just
- 27:39Speaker 4: post surgery.
- 27:40Speaker 3: Maybe for me. I can't remember. I'm puffy.
- 27:46Speaker 4: I mean, i'm puffy now, but I was puffy and
- 27:49Speaker 4: it is and you had to wear a mask. So
- 27:52Speaker 4: my goatee is like shifted to the left or something,
- 27:56Speaker 4: and I'm bloated, and it's the worst picture in the
- 27:59Speaker 4: whole wide world ever. And I usually don't care about
- 28:03Speaker 4: such things, but every time I look at it, and
- 28:06Speaker 4: I think about how they kept pushing that date back
- 28:09Speaker 4: like somem bitch, you know, could have at least maybe
- 28:15Speaker 4: put on some my shadow, take the shine off the
- 28:19Speaker 4: top of my forehead.
- 28:20Speaker 3: Something. But anyway, all right.
- 28:24Speaker 4: Pope Leo in the news says those against abortion but
- 28:28Speaker 4: in favor of the death penalty are not really pro life.
- 28:33Speaker 4: I disagree in the sentiment. I guess I would be
- 28:35Speaker 4: pro innocent life. I'm not sure why you want to
- 28:38Speaker 4: compare a child, an unborn child, to a murderous human being.
- 28:46Speaker 4: I find them to be different. But Pope says no.
- 28:50Speaker 4: He says, you know, because it's in the news right now,
- 28:53Speaker 4: because you've got a woman who will get into maybe
- 28:57Speaker 4: a little bit later, who is about a year out
- 29:01Speaker 4: from getting off horrible, horrible crime scene.
- 29:08Speaker 3: If you read that.
- 29:09Speaker 4: So, I'm like, I think it's inhumane personally to look
- 29:13Speaker 4: at human in the face that has the ability to
- 29:16Speaker 4: think and say we're going to treat you like an
- 29:19Speaker 4: animal and put you in a cage for what you did.
- 29:22Speaker 4: I think it's more humane to say, there is nothing
- 29:27Speaker 4: you will bring to this planet anymore, and we're not
- 29:30Speaker 4: going to put you in a cage.
- 29:32Speaker 3: Go meet your maker. It's meaning personally, I just.
- 29:37Speaker 4: The whole thought about how it's better to put someone
- 29:40Speaker 4: in a cage who knew very well what they were
- 29:42Speaker 4: doing and wouldn't want it done to them, to just say,
- 29:47Speaker 4: all right, well, all in all things, you throw out
- 29:50Speaker 4: the trash and you're no longer beneficial here. God God
- 29:55Speaker 4: can sort out the details.
- 29:58Speaker 7: Wouldn't it be interesting if the appeals process was streamlined
- 30:02Speaker 7: and that kind of stuff, Like everybody who's been convicted
- 30:04Speaker 7: and sentenced to death, like they didn't have.
- 30:08Speaker 6: Thirty years or something.
- 30:10Speaker 7: They just they just did executed somebody in Florida, I
- 30:15Speaker 7: believe earlier this week had been on death row for
- 30:17Speaker 7: more than thirty years.
- 30:19Speaker 4: Yeah, that's ridiculous. I think on the longest end, you
- 30:22Speaker 4: should have ten years for appeals. If people can't prove
- 30:26Speaker 4: you innocent within that time, you know, thirty years, it's ridiculous.
- 30:32Speaker 7: And I think they can do it more because of
- 30:34Speaker 7: like DNA, which they didn't have a long time ago.
- 30:36Speaker 6: And I think they did make mistakes.
- 30:38Speaker 7: No, I don't think they can find the mistakes now,
- 30:40Speaker 7: at least I'm hopeful for that. Remember the woman who
- 30:47Speaker 7: had the crap beaten out of her at a Rose
- 30:50Speaker 7: Bowl game.
- 30:50Speaker 6: At a concert?
- 30:52Speaker 7: Oh yeah, yeah, so she is now suing the Rose Bowl.
- 30:58Speaker 7: So as you'll look, there was a concert Rufus Dussoul.
- 31:03Speaker 7: This was back in August, and she and her fiance
- 31:07Speaker 7: and some friends drove over from Phoenix and they were
- 31:11Speaker 7: at the venue and she spilled a drink on a
- 31:15Speaker 7: guy in front of her, and she said, you know,
- 31:17Speaker 7: it was an accident, She wasn't intentional. She apologized. He
- 31:21Speaker 7: got mad, yelled and walked off, and then he came
- 31:24Speaker 7: back and then they got into an argument. It escalated
- 31:29Speaker 7: and she got punched in the face and was knocked unconscious.
- 31:32Speaker 7: So now the lawsuit is against the Rose Bowl operating Company,
- 31:39Speaker 7: and it alleges that the venue negligently managed, administered, and
- 31:44Speaker 7: provided security services at the Rose Bowl and so negligently
- 31:48Speaker 7: treated patrons such that Zavala, the guy who apparently hit
- 31:53Speaker 7: the woman, was permitted to violently assault plaintiffs for several
- 31:57Speaker 7: minutes without any security guards intervening to protect plaintiffs from
- 32:01Speaker 7: fur their harm.
- 32:03Speaker 3: Well, you got to find the deepest pockets.
- 32:06Speaker 7: I suppose how many security guard are there and how
- 32:09Speaker 7: many people are there?
- 32:11Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, I don't know if you're covering a
- 32:15Speaker 4: it does seem weird that you couldn't get a security
- 32:17Speaker 4: guard over to certain areas quickly enough. And if you can't,
- 32:22Speaker 4: then maybe you're under staff security wise. But I don't
- 32:26Speaker 4: know if they're at fault. I mean, I don't know.
- 32:30Speaker 4: You go somewhere and they have security for a reason.
- 32:32Speaker 4: Who are they protecting? They're protecting the space or we
- 32:37Speaker 4: use security? Are they protecting me? Are they protecting the broadcast?
- 32:42Speaker 4: Are they protecting everyone that works for the station?
- 32:46Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 32:47Speaker 3: We should test that out.
- 32:48Speaker 4: You should put a hood on or something like a
- 32:50Speaker 4: mask cono and rush and we'll see what they do next.
- 32:56Speaker 3: Time we have our live bruck.
- 32:57Speaker 4: No ease, No, you've probably got all the gear right,
- 33:05Speaker 4: all the cla la clova and okay, uh, hey, a
- 33:10Speaker 4: python was found in an out burger animal style. Yeah yeah,
- 33:16Speaker 4: so uh this is really weird. So cow in and
- 33:19Speaker 4: out burger customers surprised. Of course, employees, I would imagine,
- 33:23Speaker 4: we're surprised. The snake has been reunited with the owner,
- 33:28Speaker 4: but it was taken into the care of the Pastena
- 33:30Speaker 4: Humane Society. But how how creepy is that? I mean,
- 33:34Speaker 4: gorgeous animal.
- 33:36Speaker 7: Well, what's even weirder is this snake is was found
- 33:40Speaker 7: about like thirty five or forty miles away from home.
- 33:43Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know about that.
- 33:48Speaker 4: Like that. That's a little fishy that it. You know,
- 33:51Speaker 4: It's like.
- 33:54Speaker 6: The python had been missing for two months, you.
- 33:57Speaker 3: Have, but nobody saw it anywhere.
- 33:59Speaker 7: I don't know, And it disappeared from its home in
- 34:03Speaker 7: San Bernardino, and initially they thought that it had escaped.
- 34:07Speaker 4: But yeah, that tracks okay, all right, well that's fine,
- 34:11Speaker 4: But going back to the owner and.
- 34:16Speaker 3: People were freaked out.
- 34:18Speaker 7: You know, you think of incredible journey. You know where
- 34:20Speaker 7: dog runs across country. You don't think of a snake.
- 34:24Speaker 4: I just think that you know, a dog, you can go, oh,
- 34:26Speaker 4: that dog just running around. But a snake you'd go, hey,
- 34:29Speaker 4: that probably shouldn't be out, especially a big o' python.
- 34:32Speaker 6: Yeah. No, I want in and out, though I know
- 34:37Speaker 6: a double double with a snake.
- 34:40Speaker 4: We got a little while before it opens, all right,
- 34:42Speaker 4: Neil Servader in the morning crew with you. Stick around,
- 34:44Speaker 4: much more to come. This is kf I heard everywhere
- 34:47Speaker 4: on the iHeartRadio app.

- 34:51Speaker 2: Catch my show Monday through Friday, six am to nine am,
- 34:54Speaker 2: and anytime on demand on the iHeartRadio app.
