- 0:00Speaker 1: This test is a joke.
- 0:02Speaker 2: H Skinner.
- 0:04Speaker 1: Today I received an education and how children really learn
- 0:08Speaker 1: by seeing their principal run around on top of a
- 0:11Speaker 1: shipping container. So children, put down your answer sheet and
- 0:15Speaker 1: drop that number two. And yes, I know what that means.
- 0:19Speaker 1: I've learned so much today. This is my school and
- 0:22Speaker 1: I'm throwing out the test.
- 0:27Speaker 3: From a brainy dust god.
- 0:31Speaker 4: Four Finger discount Ude.
- 0:48Speaker 2: Welcome to four Finger Discount, the podcast where we review
- 0:52Speaker 2: season twenty of The Simpsons.
- 0:53Speaker 3: Oh down season twenty.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Everyone's down on season twenty. Everything's down. No, No one
- 1:00Speaker 2: likes Season twenty the Simpsons. It seems it just feels
- 1:02Speaker 2: like this is the point where people. I was saying
- 1:04Speaker 2: to you this to you off the air before I'm
- 1:06Speaker 2: down it. By the way, Oh I'm guy. Yes, I
- 1:08Speaker 2: was saying to you that. It feels like season twenty
- 1:10Speaker 2: is when it felt like people really genuinely stopped not
- 1:14Speaker 2: caring about the Simpsons. But just maybe you're caring as
- 1:16Speaker 2: the word.
- 1:17Speaker 3: Well, you're talking about people, we're talking about us. Yeah,
- 1:20Speaker 3: we're going to be here shouldering the burden for all
- 1:23Speaker 3: us sinners. We're going to be looking through season twenty.
- 1:25Speaker 2: Each and every episode digging in.
- 1:28Speaker 3: The dirt looking for those gold nuggets of entertainment and
- 1:31Speaker 3: humor and whatever, and I don't know did we find any,
- 1:34Speaker 3: and how the test was one?
- 1:36Speaker 2: Let's find out. We're talking about how the test was one,
- 1:38Speaker 2: by the way, how the test was one? Indeed, Now,
- 1:40Speaker 2: before we get into this review, though, yesterday was April
- 1:43Speaker 2: Fool's Day, I want to throw an apology out of
- 1:45Speaker 2: everyone who follows our page. And I felt very bad
- 1:48Speaker 2: when I wrote it. I felt even worse when I
- 1:51Speaker 2: clicked post. But essentially I wrote an April Fools stroke
- 1:54Speaker 2: that said the Simpsons Hit and Run is finally getting
- 1:57Speaker 2: a sequel. Now, if you're a Simpsons fan, that's the
- 1:58Speaker 2: one thing you don't really joke about. But I thought,
- 2:00Speaker 2: you know what, screw it, I'm going to do it anyway.
- 2:03Speaker 2: You went there, I did. I went there and people
- 2:05Speaker 2: weren't impressed. We didn't lose followers, which is good. That
- 2:09Speaker 2: is good. We don't want to be losing anything. We
- 2:11Speaker 2: don't want to be losing any indeed. But the thing
- 2:13Speaker 2: is that I just wanted to throw an apology at
- 2:15Speaker 2: to everyone who was fooled by it, because you know,
- 2:18Speaker 2: I felt bad. But it is April Fool's Day, and
- 2:21Speaker 2: the purpose of April Fol's Day is to make fools
- 2:23Speaker 2: of people. Were you April fooled at all by the
- 2:26Speaker 2: by anybody? No? Not really, I think I did it
- 2:30Speaker 2: was it's a funny story for continuing. No, I don't
- 2:33Speaker 2: have it.
- 2:33Speaker 3: I don't have an ending funny to say, as you know,
- 2:37Speaker 3: So tell us your funny story. You you fooled someone
- 2:40Speaker 3: or you got full I got fooled. Yeah, so this
- 2:42Speaker 3: will be extra in a place that I never thought
- 2:45Speaker 3: I'd be fooled.
- 2:46Speaker 2: Right. Oh, So I took Elliott to school. He goes
- 2:49Speaker 2: to a primary school, local primary school, and he always
- 2:51Speaker 2: wants to do is play footy. That kid all he
- 2:52Speaker 2: wanted to do was be outside in the over playing footy.
- 2:54Speaker 2: He's great at school. I shipped it to Elliot. By
- 2:56Speaker 2: the way, so his expected range of reading is to
- 3:00Speaker 2: be between one hundred and eighteen hundred and twenty four
- 3:02Speaker 2: or something two hundred and seventy gosh, maths range was
- 3:06Speaker 2: like between one hundred and twenty one hundred and forty
- 3:08Speaker 2: three hundred and thirteen. That's like, well, not Elliott.
- 3:11Speaker 3: I don't understand any of those numbers, but they sound
- 3:13Speaker 3: like his numbers are higher than expect your brain.
- 3:16Speaker 2: Yeah, so he's doing well in the classroom and he's
- 3:18Speaker 2: smashing it in sport as well. The pe teacher was like,
- 3:20Speaker 2: this kid unbelievable. Anyway, if you love early so much
- 3:23Speaker 2: when you're marrying, I mean that's his son. A little
- 3:27Speaker 2: bit weird, but anyway, Yeah, so he's doing all he
- 3:29Speaker 2: wants to do ab outside kicking the footy, right, so
- 3:31Speaker 2: then I'd rather be doing this run. I dropped him off.
- 3:34Speaker 2: He's walking into his classroom as I'm walking out with
- 3:36Speaker 2: the parent with the parents, the teacher. So the principal
- 3:39Speaker 2: of the primary school shout out to mister Holloway, fantastic. Principle,
- 3:43Speaker 2: could not think any more highly of him. He's just
- 3:44Speaker 2: he's great at what he does, right, he has known
- 3:46Speaker 2: how as we're saying tension, kids don't forget, as we
- 3:49Speaker 2: discussed in the newsletter this week, which kids don't read
- 3:53Speaker 2: the newsletters. Obviously, as we discussed the newsletter this week, today,
- 3:55Speaker 2: there will be no playtime on the oval. Oval is
- 3:59Speaker 2: out of hounds and be no outside play. As we discussed,
- 4:02Speaker 2: we're going to be practicing homework club during recess and
- 4:05Speaker 2: lunch break. Parents all look at each other going, wait,
- 4:08Speaker 2: what what what? What? What was? What? What? What newsletter?
- 4:11Speaker 2: When was this said? Some parents start storming to the
- 4:14Speaker 2: to the So even I was annoyed as well. So
- 4:17Speaker 2: I caught Nick on the phone going did I let
- 4:19Speaker 2: the kids outside? Can you believe this? What's going on here?
- 4:22Speaker 2: That's outrageous? How are we supposed to make Ali want
- 4:25Speaker 2: to do homework when the homework is sort of joined
- 4:27Speaker 2: with not being able to go outside and play. So
- 4:29Speaker 2: I go home and I didn't find it that the
- 4:31Speaker 2: parents going there TI later on. So I go home angry, right,
- 4:34Speaker 2: and I'm sitting and thinking, oh, well, he'll be fine.
- 4:36Speaker 2: All the other kids will be outside either. I pick
- 4:37Speaker 2: him up and I'm like, so did you to stay inside? Old?
- 4:40Speaker 2: He goes no, it was mister Holloway. On April four.
- 4:42Speaker 2: He got me.
- 4:43Speaker 1: He got me.
- 4:46Speaker 2: Good. April four though, that's pretty good. I've never known
- 4:49Speaker 2: a teacher principal to do that.
- 4:50Speaker 3: Well, you're right, because you don't expect it from that
- 4:53Speaker 3: particular framework. I trusted you with my child's education and
- 4:58Speaker 3: my own sense of you, and.
- 4:59Speaker 2: He got me as well. I was like, what a joke,
- 5:01Speaker 2: Well done, mate, Well done, sir.
- 5:03Speaker 3: We don't do it too often, or maybe you do
- 5:05Speaker 3: it too often, but Principal Holloway, what a lord.
- 5:09Speaker 2: So we're here today. But actually one more thing. We've
- 5:12Speaker 2: got Jet here. Jet has returned. So I actually think
- 5:14Speaker 2: I mentioned the podcast that Jet was put to sleep
- 5:17Speaker 2: just past aw ways ago. So there's been a tough
- 5:19Speaker 2: time here at Fourthing a Discount, which is why things
- 5:21Speaker 2: have been late and whatnot. So I apologize for that.
- 5:23Speaker 2: But Jet, you can see you on the camera about
- 5:24Speaker 2: him cremated. He's only in his little cardboardox at the moment.
- 5:26Speaker 2: He's proper cremation boxes on its way. But yeah, shirt
- 5:29Speaker 2: to Jetty, he's here with us.
- 5:32Speaker 3: I'm wonder if I should make a joke that is
- 5:34Speaker 3: in semi bad taste. You know how much I love
- 5:35Speaker 3: Jet Way for it. It's like my dog's a box.
- 5:38Speaker 2: A box anyway, but Ali and I'd love it. Takes
- 5:42Speaker 2: the box to put it next to his bed at night,
- 5:44Speaker 2: and I should hope. So, So Jet's been here since
- 5:47Speaker 2: the beginning of Fourthing a Discount and it wouldn't be
- 5:49Speaker 2: the same without him. Last week had to record a
- 5:50Speaker 2: show without him and just felt weird. So he'll be
- 5:52Speaker 2: here with us every single episode on the table here.
- 5:54Speaker 2: That's true.
- 5:54Speaker 3: I had to do a bunch of farting in the
- 5:56Speaker 3: in the studio to sort of make up for the
- 5:58Speaker 3: absence of Jet. I have my former cats, Jackson and
- 6:02Speaker 3: Charlie in little boxes like this, little containers.
- 6:06Speaker 2: It's good to have our pals around it is. Indeed. Yeah,
- 6:09Speaker 2: good boy Jet, Yes, good boy Jet. Indeed. So how
- 6:12Speaker 2: the test was one? This was an episode that I
- 6:14Speaker 2: actually didn't mind actually to all that much. I thought
- 6:17Speaker 2: the Homer story was actually quite obvious, but still quite entertaining.
- 6:23Speaker 2: I would have preferred. So the basic just of the
- 6:24Speaker 2: episode is what happens. What happens in the episode is
- 6:26Speaker 2: Homer forgets to mail the insurance claim. Is it life insurance,
- 6:30Speaker 2: home insurance? What? I think it's home and contents? But look,
- 6:33Speaker 2: why would that impact him off viability or liability insurance? Maybe? Yeah,
- 6:37Speaker 2: he forgets to post it. Matt Marge asking to post it,
- 6:39Speaker 2: he doesn't do it, and he must go a day
- 6:41Speaker 2: without hurting himself because he's now financially liable for his
- 6:43Speaker 2: own injuries. Meanwhile, the school has organized the I think
- 6:46Speaker 2: it's the Vice president Academic test or something along those lines,
- 6:50Speaker 2: and they send all Enough he's out with Skinner to
- 6:52Speaker 2: Capital City to prevent them from bringing down them the
- 6:55Speaker 2: average the scores average because it dictates how much money,
- 6:57Speaker 2: how much school funding they get. Unfortunately, Lisa is even
- 7:01Speaker 2: struggling with the test, so we see Lisa struggling with
- 7:03Speaker 2: the test as well. So the Homer story, as I
- 7:05Speaker 2: mentioned here, was not posting in life insurance. I actually
- 7:07Speaker 2: quite enjoyed this. I would have preferred if it was
- 7:11Speaker 2: more focused on him not injuring himself, but I think
- 7:13Speaker 2: they kind of got the out of the way early.
- 7:15Speaker 2: And actually it wasn't terrible him trying to prevent other
- 7:18Speaker 2: people from getting hurt in his house. I was all
- 7:19Speaker 2: for that.
- 7:20Speaker 3: I thought that was, actually, yeah, a better element of
- 7:22Speaker 3: the story, did you ak? I thought they actually did
- 7:24Speaker 3: that really well, and it wasn't something that I expected.
- 7:28Speaker 3: And it's always good to be surprised, except, you know,
- 7:31Speaker 3: when you're taking your kid to school and they're told.
- 7:32Speaker 2: They've got homework club rather than playtime. I heard homework Coluver.
- 7:36Speaker 2: I was like, what is going on here? Mather Bridge
- 7:39Speaker 2: is going to share? Yes, so yeah, but I hear
- 7:43Speaker 2: what you're saying too. And it also kind of makes
- 7:45Speaker 2: sense that Homer would want to lay low. He wouldn't
- 7:48Speaker 2: want to be out living a normal day, you know,
- 7:51Speaker 2: potentially potentially hurting himself. That he realizes he's made it
- 7:55Speaker 2: to work, Oh I missed this, So he doesn't go
- 7:58Speaker 2: to where he goes home? Well, yeah, but that's pretty
- 8:02Speaker 2: much part of the course. Does he actually still work?
- 8:04Speaker 2: Does he actually have a job yet? So for him
- 8:07Speaker 2: to make.
- 8:08Speaker 3: His way back from the plant to because where he's
- 8:11Speaker 3: trying to drop it off at the actual office, and
- 8:13Speaker 3: they're saying.
- 8:14Speaker 2: So that's one of my trivia questions. Why was the
- 8:16Speaker 2: guy out back at three pm? Oh no, he's back
- 8:19Speaker 2: at three pm. No idea, stopping his daughter's wedding. That's
- 8:23Speaker 2: actually pretty funny.
- 8:25Speaker 3: Shame on me for not remembering that or paying as
- 8:27Speaker 3: much as close attention as I should have. Yeah, but
- 8:30Speaker 3: for him to have to be yeah, not just in
- 8:33Speaker 3: a controlled environment, actually out in the world where bad
- 8:36Speaker 3: stuff could.
- 8:36Speaker 2: Happen to you.
- 8:37Speaker 3: But then even making it home is like, oh my god,
- 8:39Speaker 3: it's even worse in here, or I'm seeing danger everywhere.
- 8:43Speaker 3: That was something I really enjoyed about the episode. I mean,
- 8:44Speaker 3: I'm kind of jumping on my favorite moments here. But no,
- 8:48Speaker 3: I like the I like the A story with the
- 8:51Speaker 3: whole testing thing, even the A one story or a
- 8:57Speaker 3: minor story what with Lisa sort of having her rice,
- 9:00Speaker 3: and that's part of the test, part of the test story,
- 9:02Speaker 3: but it's also its own little ad dout.
- 9:04Speaker 2: The Skinner story was quite fun as well. I thought,
- 9:06Speaker 2: oh yeah, yeah, I like you know what, I like
- 9:08Speaker 2: he In this episode, Skinner finally earned some respect back
- 9:12Speaker 2: that I feel like he's been lacking for maybe five
- 9:13Speaker 2: six seasons now. I'm so sick of him being the simp.
- 9:17Speaker 3: Oh yeah, it's very much that he's just the whipping
- 9:19Speaker 3: boy for charmers, yeah, or you know, sort of being
- 9:24Speaker 3: made fun of.
- 9:24Speaker 2: Buy Well Barton particular. No one fears him anymore, and
- 9:28Speaker 2: I don't think they ever really feared him, but now
- 9:31Speaker 2: they just see him as a joke where they didn't
- 9:33Speaker 2: seem as a joke in the first goal in the
- 9:35Speaker 2: Golden Ear, he was seen as, you know, the guy
- 9:37Speaker 2: that can get one over, but he still could outsmart them.
- 9:40Speaker 3: Well, it's also yeah, back in the back in those
- 9:42Speaker 3: early stages, he's an authority figure that you're making fun of,
- 9:45Speaker 3: and there are.
- 9:46Speaker 2: Risks with that, or there are stakes with that. Yeah,
- 9:48Speaker 2: you know, but Wood pull his pranks or whatever doing graffiti,
- 9:51Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, there's still a possibility like he's going to
- 9:53Speaker 2: get detention or he's going to get punished or whatever
- 9:55Speaker 2: as a result, whereas now just yeah, we just make
- 9:57Speaker 2: fun of this guy and nothing happens, like Okay, well,
- 10:01Speaker 2: if the pranks you're pulling, all the gags you're telling
- 10:04Speaker 2: aren't super funny for us as viewers, that's the point.
- 10:08Speaker 2: And I don't trust them to continue that onto the
- 10:10Speaker 2: next episode. And even throughout the majority of this episode,
- 10:13Speaker 2: they were still treating him the way they have been
- 10:14Speaker 2: treating for the last previous seasons. But by the end,
- 10:17Speaker 2: it's like our skin is using smarts and using stuff
- 10:20Speaker 2: that you can learn at school in a cool way.
- 10:22Speaker 2: It's almost like Skinner fail. It was almost like he
- 10:24Speaker 2: felt cool again by the end of the episode.
- 10:26Speaker 3: Well, it did, and it also tied into the underlying
- 10:28Speaker 3: I guess theme of this of this plot line, of
- 10:31Speaker 3: this test. Plot lines like this, not that these tests
- 10:35Speaker 3: don't mean shit, but you know, if you're going to
- 10:37Speaker 3: educate people, educate them properly and educate them in ways
- 10:41Speaker 3: that are going to benefit them in all ways, And.
- 10:43Speaker 2: Don't base your self worth on what you get on
- 10:45Speaker 2: a test. How many people fail we call it, they
- 10:50Speaker 2: call it high st they call hig school, they call
- 10:51Speaker 2: highchool America. Yeah, fail high school, don't even complete high school.
- 10:55Speaker 2: They're still gone to succeed. Of course, you've got to
- 10:57Speaker 2: have the drive in yourself. You've got to also have
- 10:59Speaker 2: a bit of a billy and a bit of it's
- 11:00Speaker 2: well to succeed. But the thing is, if you don't
- 11:02Speaker 2: do well at school, it doesn't mean you're going to
- 11:04Speaker 2: fail in life.
- 11:05Speaker 3: No, no, And it's incumbent and maybe upon the school
- 11:08Speaker 3: system as well or the people that you have around
- 11:11Speaker 3: you are sort of guiding your future. It's like, okay,
- 11:13Speaker 3: well maybe book learn is not your thing, you know,
- 11:15Speaker 3: let's find something else for you to do. What are
- 11:17Speaker 3: you good at. Let's try and identify that early, and
- 11:21Speaker 3: let's put you on a path where it's a wonderful,
- 11:24Speaker 3: magical land where you know you can do what you
- 11:26Speaker 3: love for a living or do something that you enjoy
- 11:29Speaker 3: doing every day. What's that old saying is like find
- 11:32Speaker 3: a job you love.
- 11:33Speaker 2: And you'll never work at the right day. Yeah, all
- 11:34Speaker 2: that kind of stuff.
- 11:36Speaker 3: But yeah, I mean I've always been a remind It's like, yeah,
- 11:39Speaker 3: try and identify early what you might like doing and what.
- 11:41Speaker 2: You might have an aptitude for, and let's steer you
- 11:43Speaker 2: in the direction. We're going to make a little scratch
- 11:45Speaker 2: doing that. One thing I also always try to instill
- 11:47Speaker 2: an Alley, even as early as now, is the teachers
- 11:50Speaker 2: are your friend. Don't look at the teachers they're teaching.
- 11:52Speaker 2: You might be boring, it might seem they're being mean,
- 11:55Speaker 2: but they are doing it because they want you to succeed.
- 11:57Speaker 2: They want you to learn. Their goal in life is
- 11:59Speaker 2: to help you achieve goals in life. That's they go
- 12:02Speaker 2: to school so they can teach you things. So Elliott,
- 12:04Speaker 2: he always respects a teacher, even more so in high school.
- 12:07Speaker 2: I think we're in high school. Yeah, I know everything.
- 12:10Speaker 2: I'm a teenager. By the time we get to year
- 12:13Speaker 2: twelve here in a stride, we get to year twelve.
- 12:14Speaker 2: By time you get year even year twelve, you realize
- 12:16Speaker 2: those teachers that we hated, they're actually really great and
- 12:20Speaker 2: they just want us to succeed and they want the
- 12:22Speaker 2: best for us. How it would just be nice to them?
- 12:25Speaker 2: I remember in year twelve. We're friends of all the teachers.
- 12:28Speaker 2: You realize, Oh fuck, without these guys, we're nothing, you know,
- 12:30Speaker 2: we need these people. Yeah, so always look, always respect
- 12:34Speaker 2: your teachers. That's what I try to say to Elliott.
- 12:36Speaker 2: Teachers are there for a reason. They want you to succeed.
- 12:38Speaker 2: That's their goal in life. It should be yours to
- 12:40Speaker 2: make their life easier as a result. It's a good philosophy.
- 12:43Speaker 5: Yeah, my favorite.
- 12:46Speaker 2: What were your favorite moments from the episode. I had
- 12:48Speaker 2: a few lines that I really enjoyed. I really liked
- 12:50Speaker 2: Helen love Joy Forever, the gossiper right talking about Kleidus.
- 12:54Speaker 2: I just love that she's feeding his slop to another
- 12:56Speaker 2: woman's pick. It's like there's double meetings there. But I
- 13:01Speaker 2: liked it.
- 13:02Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I mean that whole book club meeting turning
- 13:06Speaker 3: into a Final Destination sequel.
- 13:08Speaker 2: I thought was pretty good. Yeah. Oh I didn't even
- 13:11Speaker 2: pick up on that as well. Yeah, every sort of
- 13:13Speaker 2: mask I saw your post about Final Destination six. Is
- 13:15Speaker 2: it five or six? Yeah? It's five films, I think,
- 13:17Speaker 2: isn't there now.
- 13:18Speaker 3: They've made five films and now they're doing it's not
- 13:21Speaker 3: been a number. It's called Final Destination Bloodlines.
- 13:24Speaker 2: I am going to have a marathon of these movies.
- 13:25Speaker 2: I'm gonna sit there mondaychoose, and I'm going to watch
- 13:27Speaker 2: them all because I remember loving the first one. The
- 13:30Speaker 2: second one still haunts me, haunts everybody. No, everyone always says,
- 13:33Speaker 2: you can't drive down the highway behind a truck. Just
- 13:35Speaker 2: can't be done anymore. Don't do it whenever someone is
- 13:37Speaker 2: mowing the lawn. Always, I'm gonna get a thing in
- 13:39Speaker 2: my eye. Like Final Destination films, they're great, they grew
- 13:43Speaker 2: up and down in quality, but the premise is so
- 13:46Speaker 2: it's ludicrous but also so ingenious genius as well. Yeah,
- 13:49Speaker 2: I really like FUD Destinations, so I'm excited for the
- 13:51Speaker 2: new one. But i'd even pick up on the well.
- 13:54Speaker 2: I don't think it was a parody, but it had
- 13:55Speaker 2: elements of it. Yeah, it's certainly. Yeah.
- 13:57Speaker 3: I mean, I think I think they're sort of paying
- 13:59Speaker 3: tribute to Finalist Nation. They're not being too explicit about it,
- 14:01Speaker 3: but that whole everything around here could kill you at
- 14:05Speaker 3: any moment that you know, that light thing could explode
- 14:08Speaker 3: all over and no not just explode, but it's a
- 14:11Speaker 3: big circle. You get land around my neck, and I'd
- 14:13Speaker 3: just be right. So I love that and also the
- 14:19Speaker 3: fact that, yeah, but it's all Homer's fantasy, Yeah, all
- 14:22Speaker 3: Homer's prediction or whatever, except then Homer being Homer, it
- 14:25Speaker 3: turns turns into a margin.
- 14:27Speaker 2: Who's margin? Yeah kind of hot. I reckon that that
- 14:31Speaker 2: would have been used in the commercial. You don't make
- 14:34Speaker 2: those kind of joke unless you're going to be using
- 14:35Speaker 2: them to the full amount. And I think that you
- 14:37Speaker 2: would have just put that in a bubble in the commercial,
- 14:40Speaker 2: gone margins making that Linds Nagle what tune in this
- 14:44Speaker 2: Sunday to find out why.
- 14:45Speaker 3: If we if we had social media back then, I
- 14:47Speaker 3: have no doubt it would be gift or memed or whatever. Yes,
- 14:50Speaker 3: I enjoyed that very much. You're right when it comes
- 14:53Speaker 3: to lines more than anything else. I mean, I did
- 14:55Speaker 3: enjoy at the very starts.
- 14:57Speaker 2: Uh.
- 14:58Speaker 3: I believe it Skins that you're like, no, no, sorry, Tomer.
- 15:01Speaker 3: I think holidays are over. They're sending the kids back
- 15:03Speaker 3: to school or whatever. It's like you're a government's problem.
- 15:06Speaker 2: Now. I thought I thought that was uh and uh.
- 15:10Speaker 3: Yeah, the nice ruse that the school plays when they yeah,
- 15:14Speaker 3: you think you're sending these kids off to what do
- 15:17Speaker 3: they call it? A genius copts genius copter, there's conn air. Yes,
- 15:21Speaker 3: all these are what shall we say, disadvantage you did indeed,
- 15:26Speaker 3: I'm not going to do that. If I was going
- 15:29Speaker 3: to use my analog of that word, well, we'd be
- 15:31Speaker 3: in a whole lot of trouble. Yeah, because we're able
- 15:33Speaker 3: to use that word when oldier kid.
- 15:35Speaker 2: I do think that this is a bit of a
- 15:37Speaker 2: retread on a previous story where Skinner wants the bullies
- 15:42Speaker 2: out of the school when charmers arrive. Yeah, and they're
- 15:43Speaker 2: all put down in the in the basement or something.
- 15:46Speaker 2: I believe it's Duffless. Anyways, the episode when Skinner locks
- 15:50Speaker 2: the boys the bullies in the room, Yes, and because
- 15:53Speaker 2: he promises the promises mountain bikes. Yeah, at the end,
- 15:56Speaker 2: what if they're dead, sir? We ride these bikes to Mexico. Really,
- 16:01Speaker 2: but the bullies having like a little encounter group at
- 16:04Speaker 2: the end of like or is that whacking day? Is
- 16:07Speaker 2: it whacking day? It's where Barke get sent to the school.
- 16:10Speaker 2: It can't be Dufle's because Dufless ends with them singing
- 16:12Speaker 2: what is it? I'm gonna look it up? Look continue,
- 16:14Speaker 2: look at.
- 16:17Speaker 3: Yeah, I was like, there's a no genius coptic, there's
- 16:19Speaker 3: a conn air because who's on the it's the bullies.
- 16:23Speaker 2: And Ralph and Bart essentially on the Yeah, it was
- 16:26Speaker 2: the same kids as the previous episode, except've added Ralph
- 16:28Speaker 2: in there as well for comedic.
- 16:29Speaker 3: Effects, of course, well for comedic effect.
- 16:32Speaker 2: I do think that Michael Price, though, my man Michael
- 16:35Speaker 2: Price knows how to write Ralph. I think Ralph was
- 16:37Speaker 2: nowhere near as dumb down in this one. This felt
- 16:40Speaker 2: very much more based on earlier era Ralph, where you know,
- 16:46Speaker 2: he's singing the spice skills. Whatever, are you done yet?
- 16:48Speaker 2: I was done before I came in that kind of ject.
- 16:49Speaker 2: I didn't mind that. I thought, I just don't think
- 16:52Speaker 2: he was as our words.
- 16:57Speaker 3: Yeah, there's a tendency to make Ralph, yes, completely ignorant,
- 17:03Speaker 3: ignorant on a grand thermonuclear scale, where it's just like, no,
- 17:07Speaker 3: he's just kind of naive and silly.
- 17:11Speaker 2: It is waking day, by the way, it's waking day.
- 17:13Speaker 2: I'm like, it can't be waking day now, it is
- 17:15Speaker 2: waking day. So the entire waking day, the kids are
- 17:16Speaker 2: locked in the room.
- 17:18Speaker 3: Don't second hress yourself, man, So I enjoyed those all
- 17:22Speaker 3: those things very much from how the test was.
- 17:23Speaker 2: One and I also enjoyed it's just a couple of lines,
- 17:26Speaker 2: and the last one here I've got is several. That's
- 17:28Speaker 2: more than a few, and almost a bunch, just little
- 17:31Speaker 2: lines like that. I don't mind.
- 17:32Speaker 1: Next question you there eating the beast.
- 17:35Speaker 2: Trivia time here on a four figure discount. My first
- 17:38Speaker 2: question for you is what did the banner say at
- 17:40Speaker 2: the school the first time we get to the school
- 17:43Speaker 2: the assembly to announce the test, but as a banner
- 17:45Speaker 2: out the front first day of school?
- 17:47Speaker 3: Well this might be mine as well, if we're talking
- 17:49Speaker 3: about the same thing. But is it about that super teacher,
- 17:53Speaker 3: Miss Caldocott is now mister Newberry. That's correct, yeah, indeed,
- 17:56Speaker 3: well yes, what was the new idea for Miss Caldicott?
- 17:58Speaker 3: And it is mister Newber. My next question, Your next
- 18:02Speaker 3: question is what flower did the library group remain? So
- 18:05Speaker 3: I think it's mister Becker said, O deal oal for
- 18:08Speaker 3: the dills A little sidebar. I had to fix a chance.
- 18:11Speaker 3: So Elliott's in a house at school. Greenhouse is in
- 18:14Speaker 3: they call the Devon Cross because it's the streets around
- 18:16Speaker 3: the school. Yes, so Devon Street is near the school,
- 18:18Speaker 3: they're Devon crops and kids put up I added, like
- 18:22Speaker 3: an assembly on Monday afternoon. Parents can go few parents
- 18:24Speaker 3: with that, and kids can put a chance in to
- 18:27Speaker 3: having a sports day soon and one and the guy
- 18:29Speaker 3: up there, the teacher, he's just like reading out the
- 18:31Speaker 3: chance and he's that fun teacher, you know, he's like
- 18:33Speaker 3: he's enthusiastic, blah blah blah. And at the start it
- 18:36Speaker 3: said so c r O C S that the letter
- 18:39Speaker 3: letters for CROCS right, and said our team is the
- 18:41Speaker 3: best of the best. And he's like, I can't quite
- 18:44Speaker 3: work out how do we do this? So cr o
- 18:46Speaker 3: CS our team is. I can't quite work o how
- 18:48Speaker 3: to do those letters in the chant. I'm sitting there,
- 18:50Speaker 3: I'm seeing I'm going it's right there in front of oh,
- 18:53Speaker 3: like I'm sitting now on just like cant say nothing
- 18:54Speaker 3: that mister Halloway, my man, mister Hallway rocks up and
- 18:58Speaker 3: he quite right. He's a reason why he's great.
- 19:01Speaker 2: Right. So he goes to all the assemblies and he
- 19:03Speaker 2: was just making sure all the chances that were chosen
- 19:05Speaker 2: were the right ones. Right. One of the chants at
- 19:08Speaker 2: the last chance was basically putting down the other color,
- 19:10Speaker 2: saying Red's too slow and red meant stopped. Blah bla blah.
- 19:13Speaker 2: It was the whole ways, like no nix and that
- 19:14Speaker 2: because you know what we do. We don't put down
- 19:16Speaker 2: the other ones. We just say how great we are,
- 19:17Speaker 2: and you can say how great you are, but we
- 19:19Speaker 2: don't need to put down the other house. And I'm
- 19:20Speaker 2: like that's a fair point, right, But the cr O
- 19:23Speaker 2: c S and sitting there and he goes, what the
- 19:25Speaker 2: workshop on this one? And I was like, excuse me,
- 19:28Speaker 2: end can tell you how to do this perdently. It's
- 19:31Speaker 2: it's Brittandana Internet creative replace. I'm we are the best
- 19:36Speaker 2: of the best with this. So the c O c
- 19:38Speaker 2: s you couldn't work out had to say c r
- 19:40Speaker 2: o c s in a chant. I'm like, it's c
- 19:43Speaker 2: r o cs. And it was originally written as our team,
- 19:47Speaker 2: our team is the best of the best. I'm like,
- 19:49Speaker 2: there's too many syllables. It just needs to be c
- 19:52Speaker 2: r o cs. Our team simply is the best. The
- 19:55Speaker 2: hole it looks at me and he was like wink,
- 19:57Speaker 2: And I'm like, and the teacher get the feeling. The
- 20:00Speaker 2: teacher didn't like me correcting him, because he was just
- 20:02Speaker 2: like yeah, yeah, and then miss is always like, yep,
- 20:05Speaker 2: so just replace best there and replace it was simply,
- 20:08Speaker 2: and he's like, I'll be showing a back here.
- 20:11Speaker 3: You spent a lot of time on this episode justifiably
- 20:15Speaker 3: praising teachers for all the good work they do. We
- 20:17Speaker 3: also have to recognize that they are human beings, occasionally flawed,
- 20:22Speaker 3: and they might take.
- 20:24Speaker 2: Issue with I'm coming in and doing their job for
- 20:26Speaker 2: him like you did. And he's reading back, that's a
- 20:29Speaker 2: good chart. He's reading back through it and there's more
- 20:32Speaker 2: to the champ but that was just the start of it.
- 20:33Speaker 2: And he's reading back through it, and he goes so,
- 20:34Speaker 2: I've changed this too, simply, and Miss Hollway goes in
- 20:38Speaker 2: points to me, and I think the teacher was like.
- 20:42Speaker 3: I think we all like mister Holloway, but don't be
- 20:45Speaker 3: throwing your employees at the bus like that.
- 20:47Speaker 2: Even the praise dander But yeah, so I was like,
- 20:50Speaker 2: it's see, yes, it's obvious, it's right there. Well yeah,
- 20:53Speaker 2: I let him get up. After the third time, I
- 20:55Speaker 2: was like, I have to have to fix this. And
- 20:58Speaker 2: after school, Alliet was like, was a way better one
- 21:00Speaker 2: that you did. I was like, I know, son, I know,
- 21:03Speaker 2: but that what we're doing that chance? What are we
- 21:05Speaker 2: talking about? Chance for daffidils? Daffidils? Yes, the daffodil chant. Yeah,
- 21:08Speaker 2: of course it does reminded me of that moment. I
- 21:10Speaker 2: was like, I have to get that out there. I
- 21:11Speaker 2: just thought it's hilarious. Well, your next question for me.
- 21:14Speaker 2: My next question for you? What is the Blue Umbrella
- 21:18Speaker 2: Insurance Company's mailing address? Oh, that's a good question. I'm
- 21:21Speaker 2: not going to be able to answer that one.
- 21:23Speaker 3: I had to do a bit of freeze framing. But
- 21:24Speaker 3: it is one hundred balloon payment, boulevard b.
- 21:27Speaker 2: Loo payment, balloon payment, balloon payment toa loon payment.
- 21:30Speaker 1: All right.
- 21:31Speaker 2: My final question for you is what color was the
- 21:34Speaker 2: shipping container that Skinner used where he was running on.
- 21:37Speaker 2: Just turn the momentum around. I want to say orange. No,
- 21:40Speaker 2: you said it before. It's blue.
- 21:42Speaker 3: Oh oh well okay, then blue it is?
- 21:48Speaker 2: It is? Yes, it was. I think it was like brown.
- 21:53Speaker 2: Maybe you are right now you now you've got me
- 21:55Speaker 2: second guessing myself again.
- 21:57Speaker 3: Well that's the thing. You second guess each is nice,
- 21:59Speaker 3: second guess you. It all works out. You're probably right.
- 22:02Speaker 2: There's no video of it. I could go on Disney Plus.
- 22:06Speaker 2: How about we just leave it and we just have it?
- 22:08Speaker 2: The listeners like right in, this is right.
- 22:10Speaker 3: This could be like that wonderful mean thing where it's like,
- 22:13Speaker 3: what color is this dress? I think it's blue and yellow? No,
- 22:16Speaker 3: you're kidding, that's gray and red? What are you talking about?
- 22:17Speaker 2: It turns out it's yellow. Turns out it's the box
- 22:19Speaker 2: is yellow? Even a dress? All right? So one more question?
- 22:23Speaker 2: Can hit me? One more question? Okay?
- 22:25Speaker 3: And they are doing the test in the classroom. What
- 22:28Speaker 3: time is it on the clock when the test actually starts.
- 22:31Speaker 3: Lisa looks up at.
- 22:32Speaker 2: It would be three oh four because I form intes
- 22:34Speaker 2: behind I thought it was ten oh four. I was
- 22:36Speaker 2: it ten? What? I think? Three? Three? Three oh one?
- 22:40Speaker 2: When Homer had hit Burns it was yeah, it was
- 22:44Speaker 2: four whatever it was? Did you even watch this episode?

- 25:44Speaker 2: Guyan Dando here at the four Finger Discount Network. But
- 25:47Speaker 2: now it is time we get into our review, Miss
- 25:49Speaker 2: Davis of how the test was won. So the original
- 25:52Speaker 2: air date was March first, two thousand and nine. Production
- 25:56Speaker 2: code LABF zero two written by my man Michael Price
- 25:59Speaker 2: and direct by the Lance Kramer. We haven't discussed. There's
- 26:03Speaker 2: one more thing I want to disuss we'll discussed it
- 26:05Speaker 2: in a second. So chotball gag, March madness is not
- 26:07Speaker 2: an excuse for missing school. The couch gags, the Simpsons
- 26:10Speaker 2: travel through iconic sitcom families and scenarios, behalf that the Honeymoons.
- 26:13Speaker 2: I think it is the first one.
- 26:14Speaker 3: Let's name those b Big Van Dyke Show, Bick Van
- 26:17Speaker 3: Dyke Show, Brady Bunch, and Cheers.
- 26:19Speaker 2: I really liked this. This was good, This was fun.
- 26:22Speaker 2: It was a fun couch gag, having such a chase
- 26:24Speaker 2: them throughout the different years and they being the nineties
- 26:27Speaker 2: one sure.
- 26:28Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I think it's a good acknowledgment that
- 26:31Speaker 3: the Simpsons actually does belong in that tradition of classic
- 26:34Speaker 3: family sitcom, classic sitcom hundred percent does.
- 26:37Speaker 2: Yeah. Now, the thing I was going to mention before
- 26:39Speaker 2: we discussed all this, because this start of this episode,
- 26:42Speaker 2: I feel this episode was the definition in a way
- 26:45Speaker 2: of padding out a story. Oh god, yes. So there
- 26:48Speaker 2: was a lot of montages, in particular coming from a
- 26:51Speaker 2: few moments Homer's injury montage that went forever I looked
- 26:55Speaker 2: at it. After that was all said and done, it
- 26:57Speaker 2: was like three and a half minutes into the episode. Yeah,
- 26:59Speaker 2: and we had an extended couch gag, and that extended
- 27:02Speaker 2: montage of Homer injured himself. I thought, you guys are
- 27:04Speaker 2: really patting this one out.
- 27:06Speaker 3: Yeah, my note here running along on material guys. Yeah, yeah,
- 27:09Speaker 3: that went way too long. Did culminate in not a
- 27:14Speaker 3: bad punchline, however, which was what a week? Yes, that
- 27:17Speaker 3: wasn't bad. Yeah, But at the same time, it's like,
- 27:20Speaker 3: I don't know if it's worth it. I don't know
- 27:22Speaker 3: if that punchline is worth a gag that long. If
- 27:25Speaker 3: we're noticing it, and we both noticed it independently, it's
- 27:27Speaker 3: kind of like I don't know.
- 27:29Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I'm watching this going normally for a montage
- 27:31Speaker 2: and might go for you know, ten seconds or so,
- 27:33Speaker 2: or ten to twenty seconds. This felt like it went
- 27:35Speaker 2: for a minute. It just kept going. I'm waiting for
- 27:37Speaker 2: it to Andrews kept going and kept going, and kept
- 27:38Speaker 2: going and kept going. I thought, whoa. To the point
- 27:40Speaker 2: where you know, we had the thing in his eye
- 27:43Speaker 2: from lart of the dance, they showed the entire bit
- 27:45Speaker 2: where he's struggling as well, I'm going, yeah, what the
- 27:48Speaker 2: hell's going on here? Now?
- 27:49Speaker 3: You know, comedy of Fiicieronados may say that's the joke,
- 27:52Speaker 3: but I don't know, Man, it just felt like it
- 27:56Speaker 3: was stretched out way too much.
- 27:59Speaker 2: I would have actually a pred what would you if
- 28:01Speaker 2: they had the balls that just do an entire episode
- 28:03Speaker 2: of just from that moment on the entire episode it's
- 28:06Speaker 2: just injury montage. Yeah, how long would you sit there
- 28:09Speaker 2: and watch that? Do you think that's a tough one?
- 28:12Speaker 2: Because I mean that's sort of that's ball, that's a
- 28:14Speaker 2: South Parks kind.
- 28:15Speaker 3: Of that's going from comedy to anti comedy, back to comedy,
- 28:18Speaker 3: back to anti comedy, back to Oh it comes like
- 28:20Speaker 3: a not the not the snake swallowing its own tail.
- 28:23Speaker 3: But yeah, some weird quantum physics deal when it comes
- 28:26Speaker 3: to comedy.
- 28:27Speaker 2: No, no, don't do it. I feel like modern audiences
- 28:30Speaker 2: would actually appreciate it, do you. I don't know. I
- 28:34Speaker 2: don't know.
- 28:35Speaker 3: I think it's one of those things that's really good
- 28:36Speaker 3: in theory. I think it's good to discuss on podcasts.
- 28:39Speaker 3: I think if the people at Simpsons Q actually did it,
- 28:43Speaker 3: we'd be probably lighting our torches and storming the build
- 28:46Speaker 3: and going why.
- 28:47Speaker 2: But do you think if South Park did it and say,
- 28:49Speaker 2: season five or whatever season four where it's just clips
- 28:53Speaker 2: the entire time. There's no new material until the end.
- 28:58Speaker 2: Maybe Yeah, I'm very torn. As I said, I love it.
- 29:05Speaker 2: Someone do it and then we can see what happened
- 29:06Speaker 2: I and then.
- 29:08Speaker 3: We see it like, oh, this is not what I wanted.
- 29:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I try it once. You can't lose any more
- 29:14Speaker 2: the viewers anyway, can they Simpsons? At this point? Can they?
- 29:16Speaker 2: Probably not? Right, So the episode kicks off with the
- 29:23Speaker 2: happy New Year of school, not happy New Year, happy
- 29:25Speaker 2: new year of school, and I get this now after
- 29:27Speaker 2: school holidays. Last year was the first Christmas holidays where
- 29:30Speaker 2: Elliott was home from genuine school, right, yes, And so
- 29:33Speaker 2: it was like sick because I used to go to
- 29:35Speaker 2: daycare over the break. So Holly still goes to daycare
- 29:37Speaker 2: over the Christmas break couples like a week or so
- 29:39Speaker 2: where she can't go, but Elliott was home for like
- 29:41Speaker 2: six weeks and after the third week kind of going.
- 29:44Speaker 2: I mean, I love spending time with Alliott, but it's
- 29:46Speaker 2: like I need to get work done.
- 29:48Speaker 3: Now you reach the event horizon, you're actually at the
- 29:50Speaker 3: real halfway mark of like, I've had so much fun,
- 29:53Speaker 3: but now I've got an equal amount of time. Yeah,
- 29:55Speaker 3: I need to make money now and send you back
- 29:58Speaker 3: to school. That's why I'm going to bring your daddy
- 30:00Speaker 3: back and turn that into a job. So we can
- 30:02Speaker 3: just make more money out of the school holidays.
- 30:03Speaker 2: That'll be nice. Find ways to make money. Tough thing
- 30:06Speaker 2: to do in this It is a tough twenty twenty
- 30:08Speaker 2: five is indeed a very tough thing to do. But
- 30:10Speaker 2: as you were saying earlier, you're the government's problem now.
- 30:12Speaker 2: And Bart mentions here that your refers to school as
- 30:16Speaker 2: a suckshack and he learnt that word from someone at school. Now,
- 30:19Speaker 2: I like that they paid it off later, which we'll
- 30:21Speaker 2: get to. Yes, So the insurance bill is June, and
- 30:24Speaker 2: March asked Homer to mail it out, And I thought,
- 30:27Speaker 2: how two thousand and seven of this? Seven? Two and
- 30:30Speaker 2: seven and nine even I've even I thought two thousand
- 30:33Speaker 2: and nine? Are we emailing at this point?
- 30:35Speaker 3: You would think so. But yesterday I went over to
- 30:39Speaker 3: see the beloved Margaret Mary, my mother almost ninety five,
- 30:43Speaker 3: almost ninety five, running some errands for her, Like, guy,
- 30:46Speaker 3: would you mind posting.
- 30:47Speaker 2: This letter for me? I'm like, wow, gosh, I feel
- 30:50Speaker 2: like one of those old cowboys.
- 30:52Speaker 3: You know, it's like we've got a sack full of
- 30:53Speaker 3: letters writing from a coast to coast. I've actually got
- 30:56Speaker 3: to put something physical in a mailbox.
- 30:58Speaker 2: Ye, guess what. I haven't done it yet. It's in
- 31:00Speaker 2: the pantry. Pantries refer to it. I think you put
- 31:03Speaker 2: in the glove in the pantry.
- 31:06Speaker 3: Yeah, what do we still call?
- 31:09Speaker 2: Do you still call them the glove compartment? I caught
- 31:11Speaker 2: the glove box. Yeah, glove box. Yeah. Does anyone actually
- 31:14Speaker 2: open their glove box anymore? Does anyone actually put gloves
- 31:16Speaker 2: in it? Why is it called a glove box? Is
- 31:18Speaker 2: that where it originated from? Do people used to keep
- 31:20Speaker 2: their gloves in it? Well? I imagine that was the case.
- 31:23Speaker 2: Did horse and carriacters have glove boxes? So it was
- 31:25Speaker 2: like maybe gloves to Well.
- 31:26Speaker 3: You're probably if you're holding the rain, say, if you're
- 31:28Speaker 3: on a stage.
- 31:29Speaker 2: Yeah, so was there a glove box? I guess? So? Yeah,
- 31:33Speaker 2: should we look this? I'm going to google this.
- 31:37Speaker 3: This is the kind of quality information you would tune
- 31:39Speaker 3: into four finger discount for Impress your friend.
- 31:42Speaker 2: Just google where did the term glove box originate? So
- 31:44Speaker 2: the term glovebox or glove compartment? As telling you this
- 31:48Speaker 2: originated from the early nineteen hundreds when car starting featuring
- 31:52Speaker 2: a storage compartment initially intended for storing driving gloves. So
- 31:56Speaker 2: I didn't realize people had driving gloves. Well, they were
- 31:59Speaker 2: very back in the day. It's like, oh my hands. Yeah,
- 32:03Speaker 2: the steering apparently everyone needs to use driving gloves and
- 32:05Speaker 2: needs to store them in their glove compartment.
- 32:07Speaker 3: Well, the steering wheel, I imagine, is just an evolution
- 32:10Speaker 3: of the reins that you were holding when you were
- 32:12Speaker 3: either horse and buggy or even just on a horse drinking.
- 32:15Speaker 2: Horses panicked when wheels were invented, like fun, I don't
- 32:17Speaker 2: need us anymore. No, we're gonna be glue.
- 32:24Speaker 3: That's when they had to start doing tricks, diving up
- 32:28Speaker 3: high platforms like shit, gotta upskill. This is not relevant
- 32:35Speaker 3: at all to any of us oil in the twenty
- 32:36Speaker 3: first century now, But isn't that interesting? I mean, I
- 32:41Speaker 3: think we probably could have gone the rest of our
- 32:43Speaker 3: lives not knowing why that compartment in your car was
- 32:45Speaker 3: called the glove box.
- 32:46Speaker 2: And now we know that's a beauty of having kids
- 32:48Speaker 2: as well, because they ask questions, For example, what.
- 32:50Speaker 3: Although you're about to say that's the beauty of having
- 32:51Speaker 3: a co host who would ask.
- 32:52Speaker 2: You there, Oh yeah, kids so much different. But they
- 32:57Speaker 2: ask you questions like where does the wind come from?
- 32:59Speaker 2: And I'm like, I said to Elliott, I should actually
- 33:02Speaker 2: know this, but I don't know this, and I still
- 33:04Speaker 2: haven't looked at ups. Why I don't have kids. This
- 33:06Speaker 2: is where he just makes it up. What where do
- 33:08Speaker 2: clouds come from? And I'm like, I should know this.
- 33:11Speaker 2: Where does the rain come from? I'm like, why know
- 33:13Speaker 2: it comes from the clouds, But I'm pretty sure it's
- 33:15Speaker 2: because it's condensation. Condensation and the clouds get too heavy
- 33:19Speaker 2: and that's why it comes out. He's always lightning come from, Like,
- 33:21Speaker 2: I don't know, stop asking questions. It would be great
- 33:24Speaker 2: if I was like, where does the wind come from?
- 33:26Speaker 3: When you just go here and you let one rid,
- 33:28Speaker 3: you just do a huge part and he would just
- 33:30Speaker 3: think you're the best dad ever.
- 33:31Speaker 2: So the kids love Nicholas scratching the back in bed
- 33:34Speaker 2: right at bed time? Can you scratch my back? Mum?
- 33:35Speaker 2: Mum scratches it? But we all love that. And the
- 33:37Speaker 2: other day Holly dropped one whilst Nicholas reaching over to
- 33:39Speaker 2: scratch Elliot's essentially in her face. They thought that was
- 33:42Speaker 2: the peak of comedy. Comedy, couldn't get any funny out
- 33:45Speaker 2: they They were laughing for about half an hour. Nicola, not
- 33:47Speaker 2: so much. I understand, because you know, you know when
- 33:51Speaker 2: someone fasts. But have you had a funt where someone
- 33:53Speaker 2: farts and you can feel it like it's touched you.
- 33:56Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that is the worst of the worst when
- 33:58Speaker 2: it when you feel it. Not smelling, no, but you
- 34:01Speaker 2: know what's in it. Feeling a fart is worse than
- 34:03Speaker 2: smelling it in my opinion.
- 34:04Speaker 3: Oh yeah, absolutely, there's microscopic. Yeah, but bits and pieces
- 34:10Speaker 3: of stuff.
- 34:11Speaker 2: Not only is it going to be in you when
- 34:13Speaker 2: you smell it, it's now on you. Oh yeah, yeah,
- 34:15Speaker 2: take a shower. No good anyway, moving along, please please
- 34:19Speaker 2: move on. But we're getting back to so she's asking
- 34:21Speaker 2: him to post the bill and the montages work, he says,
- 34:25Speaker 2: for when I get hurt, and man, do I get
- 34:27Speaker 2: hurt and we get what feels like at least a
- 34:28Speaker 2: one minute montage of various grips of him getting injured.
- 34:31Speaker 2: It went forever, It did go forever, indeed. But now
- 34:33Speaker 2: it's the school assembly, first day of school. The library
- 34:36Speaker 2: groups are no longer named after flowers named after the
- 34:38Speaker 2: barnyard animals except for the daffodils, because mister Becker really
- 34:41Speaker 2: loves his daffodils apparently really, And then they've got the
- 34:44Speaker 2: Vice President's Assessment Assessment Test, not academics assessment test, No
- 34:48Speaker 2: Children from the No Children Left Alone Act or whatever
- 34:51Speaker 2: it's called. Basically, it's just I think there was a.
- 34:54Speaker 3: I think under the Bush administration maybe there was something
- 34:56Speaker 3: called No Child Left Behind Behind AKAY, which was an
- 34:59Speaker 3: educational where it's like said, maybe you said left behind,
- 35:01Speaker 3: I said left alone here, Who knows. I think the
- 35:03Speaker 3: seems probably would have taken.
- 35:04Speaker 2: It slightly ripped it, yesh. I could be wrong, though,
- 35:07Speaker 2: but Charmer says, the results will determine how much money
- 35:09Speaker 2: this suck shack gets. So I was like, oh, what
- 35:11Speaker 2: you paid off? And they didn't bring attention to it. It
- 35:13Speaker 2: was just it was just there. If you're listening, you
- 35:15Speaker 2: heard it. And they start they said, for the next
- 35:17Speaker 2: couple of weeks are going to be drilling into you
- 35:19Speaker 2: guys or the facts all the answers for these questions.
- 35:22Speaker 2: So you get it. So we another little mini montage
- 35:24Speaker 2: of them learning. So in the classroom, so missus k
- 35:28Speaker 2: is like we're gonna be reading a Kaka car. This
- 35:32Speaker 2: just kept going like this is just padding right, Yeah,
- 35:34Speaker 2: I'm not sure exactly what that meant. Yeah, the dodgeball guy,
- 35:37Speaker 2: who seems to be a recurring character, now the dodgeball teacher.
- 35:40Speaker 2: They get the answer wrong, you throw the dodgeball at them.
- 35:42Speaker 1: Take your number two pencil?
- 35:44Speaker 3: And what kind of pencil do we take again?
- 35:46Speaker 1: Number two? Take a number two?
- 35:50Speaker 5: Looks like you took a big number two.
- 35:54Speaker 1: Yeah, that's quite so. Is you can see I'm holding
- 35:56Speaker 1: a big number two in my hands, enjoying the weed
- 35:59Speaker 1: and feel of it.
- 36:06Speaker 2: I know this seems childish, right, but this would slay
- 36:09Speaker 2: in primary school. The teacher are saying we're holding a
- 36:11Speaker 2: number two. I think kids would find that funny.
- 36:13Speaker 3: Well, yes, is there something we really use in Australia
- 36:16Speaker 3: the whole bathroom code thing number one and number two sometimes.
- 36:19Speaker 2: I know I've used it definitely in the past, so
- 36:21Speaker 2: it's not something we say all the time. Aliot, holy
- 36:23Speaker 2: is just either doing a wee or a poop.
- 36:24Speaker 3: It feels like a very American thing, like so number
- 36:26Speaker 3: one or number two. Actually it makes a whole lot
- 36:28Speaker 3: of sense. Yeah, I mean, you may have kids are
- 36:30Speaker 3: a bit shy. That's saying no, I need to go
- 36:32Speaker 3: take a massive dump.
- 36:34Speaker 2: It's weird. I feel like in life you evolve from
- 36:36Speaker 2: when you're a kid. You nominate and you announce what
- 36:39Speaker 2: you're about to do. If Holly says I'm going to
- 36:40Speaker 2: do it, I have to do awi, or she just
- 36:42Speaker 2: to do better. I have to do a weez and
- 36:44Speaker 2: poos or whatever she's like to do a pooh, she
- 36:45Speaker 2: announces it to the room. She leaves. Elliott. Now, since
- 36:49Speaker 2: starting school, I think he just now says I have
- 36:52Speaker 2: to go to the toilet and he leaves. Right. But
- 36:54Speaker 2: I think as you get older, I now say I
- 36:57Speaker 2: don't say I'm going to doing a poop, but if
- 36:58Speaker 2: I have to just take a leak, we say do
- 37:00Speaker 2: number one. We will say it's going to take a leak.
- 37:02Speaker 2: I think that's our way of saying I won't be long. Yes,
- 37:05Speaker 2: if you say I'm going to the toilet, then you
- 37:07Speaker 2: say I'm back in twenty Keep it rolling, keep the
- 37:11Speaker 2: show going. It might be a while. You watch your
- 37:16Speaker 2: stories for a while. Yes, we'll come back to this
- 37:18Speaker 2: one in a minute. Freeze roam, put it on. Have
- 37:20Speaker 2: a look at some tiktoks. Yeah, so going for a
- 37:22Speaker 2: Wii back in a minute, leave it on. I still
- 37:24Speaker 2: hear it. Going to the toilet, push bores, watch something else.
- 37:27Speaker 1: For a while.
- 37:28Speaker 2: Yeah, it makes a whole lot of sense. The other day,
- 37:31Speaker 2: I haven't going to the toilet. I couldn't find my phone.
- 37:33Speaker 2: Nicholas like, what do you did your phone for? I'm like,
- 37:35Speaker 2: I need my phone on the toilet. Do you take
- 37:39Speaker 2: your phone to the toilet? I do? Yeah, you can't
- 37:42Speaker 2: even recall the last one you went to the tour
- 37:43Speaker 2: without using your phone.
- 37:45Speaker 3: Well, if we're using the phraseology that we've just talked
- 37:48Speaker 3: about about in terms of again, I mean I won't
- 37:50Speaker 3: be having a Wii and sort of looking down. No,
- 37:52Speaker 3: got other things to do with your hand.
- 37:53Speaker 2: So it's a modern Because did you ever take a
- 37:55Speaker 2: newspaper or magazine to the Oh yeah absolutely, I rem
- 37:57Speaker 2: my uncle Daries have a magazines and I was like
- 38:00Speaker 2: it was the best. Oh absolutely, I'd get long, I'd
- 38:01Speaker 2: sit there for an hour. Oh yeah, god knows, I
- 38:05Speaker 2: certainly did that. You look back and you realize, oh
- 38:07Speaker 2: my god, there's so unsanitary. Even still the phone. You
- 38:10Speaker 2: think the phone's right, we have the phones in our hand.
- 38:12Speaker 2: Then we wipe our ass, and then we go out
- 38:14Speaker 2: and wash our hands. We don't wash the phone. No,
- 38:16Speaker 2: so our phone is just constantly when's last time you
- 38:19Speaker 2: washed your phone? Our phone has toilet hand on it
- 38:22Speaker 2: every day, not toilet hands. Oh no, because the hand.
- 38:27Speaker 2: How many how many times have we said that?
- 38:28Speaker 3: I mean, if you thought about everything that could just
- 38:32Speaker 3: make you sick, make you sick, or just go wrong
- 38:35Speaker 3: in this life, in this world, you wouldn't do anything.
- 38:38Speaker 2: I'm gonna out myself here. It's been years since I
- 38:41Speaker 2: have directly with my hand touched a toilet door handle.
- 38:45Speaker 2: I don't do it. Oh really, yeah, just it's gross. Mate.
- 38:48Speaker 2: If I'm at home, it's okay, right whatever, so be it.
- 38:50Speaker 2: But if I'm out somewhere, you know little latches, we
- 38:54Speaker 2: I get pissed paper, and i'd do it the paper. No,
- 38:56Speaker 2: I'm still use my bare hands from that. I don't know.
- 38:59Speaker 2: Even taps in public toilets, I don't. I use my
- 39:02Speaker 2: hand my arm here and knock it up. I won't
- 39:03Speaker 2: touch on my hands. It's just a weird thing for me.
- 39:05Speaker 2: I can't touch door handles or the taps in public toilets.
- 39:08Speaker 3: I think I'm taking it on a case by case basis.
- 39:11Speaker 3: If you go into a certain bathroom it's kind of like,
- 39:14Speaker 3: it's kind of gross. Yeah, I think I'm gonna have
- 39:16Speaker 3: to be using the elbow here, or as you said,
- 39:19Speaker 3: just grabbing a water toilet paper, and yeah, I don't
- 39:22Speaker 3: want my bare flesh touching anything in this particular establishment.
- 39:25Speaker 2: I can't recall many times when I've gone to a
- 39:27Speaker 2: public toilet and it's been terribly gross. But I have
- 39:30Speaker 2: to throw a local business under the bus here. Right,
- 39:34Speaker 2: Adventure Park in Geelong. We love going to the Venture Park,
- 39:37Speaker 2: but Holy needed to go to the toilet the other day, right,
- 39:40Speaker 2: and the girl's torlets were being clean, so I was
- 39:41Speaker 2: taken it to the men She's still young enough, she
- 39:42Speaker 2: can come to the men's she's a cubicle anyway. And
- 39:45Speaker 2: I walked in and this you're not just holding her
- 39:48Speaker 2: up over a urinal. Have fun, good lick everybody. So
- 39:53Speaker 2: I walked in and this smell was so overwhelming. I'm
- 39:57Speaker 2: not joking. It felt like I've been punched in the
- 39:59Speaker 2: face and I nearly projected I've vomited from the smell.
- 40:03Speaker 2: Like you know how sometimes you get smells where it
- 40:04Speaker 2: just instantly makes you want to throw up. Oh yeah,
- 40:06Speaker 2: absolutely this. I have not ever in my life smelled
- 40:09Speaker 2: anything like and I've later found out that it was
- 40:11Speaker 2: the sewerage leak, but like this smell, I can almost smell.
- 40:15Speaker 2: It makes me feel sick in my throat. Now I
- 40:17Speaker 2: nearly vomited, Like my body nearly just announced it vomiting.
- 40:21Speaker 2: It was horrific. It's terrible when that happened.
- 40:24Speaker 3: Lou had this the other day, and I lovely Luis
- 40:25Speaker 3: had this not long ago where she was talking about, oh,
- 40:29Speaker 3: there was some event that happened. I can think about it,
- 40:33Speaker 3: but if I start to tell you about it, it's
- 40:35Speaker 3: actually going to try it might make me physically Yeah,
- 40:38Speaker 3: I said, well, don't tell me.
- 40:39Speaker 2: Yeah. The two months for me with this one, I
- 40:41Speaker 2: have not experienced anything like this where it just my
- 40:44Speaker 2: body just tried to just vomit as a result. When
- 40:47Speaker 2: it was called Eureka Nightclub, oh, I think it's called
- 40:50Speaker 2: Eureka again, but it's now a fancy establishment. It's gone
- 40:55Speaker 2: through a lot of change. It was a dirty nightclub
- 40:57Speaker 2: when I was a teenager, right, I never forget walking
- 40:59Speaker 2: in and the floor was just I'm talking maybe an
- 41:02Speaker 2: inch deep in who knows what it was, right, and
- 41:06Speaker 2: guys are just walking through it to get to the
- 41:08Speaker 2: urinal gross and I remember there was like a section
- 41:11Speaker 2: where it wasn't like flattered, so I sort of walked around,
- 41:13Speaker 2: went to us a cubicle and the cubicle was overflowing
- 41:17Speaker 2: and just this was the Eureka. This was the Eureka.
- 41:21Speaker 2: I have a vivid memory and remember tell this story.
- 41:22Speaker 2: It just makes me ill.
- 41:24Speaker 3: Because again, sorry not to throw a local establishment under
- 41:27Speaker 3: the bus, but noted Geelong night spot.
- 41:31Speaker 2: Lammis lambies Lambi's some call it.
- 41:34Speaker 3: Yes, oh after the senators. It's a below ground establishment
- 41:43Speaker 3: and you walk down those stairs to get into.
- 41:45Speaker 2: This place and hazard one o one. Yeah.
- 41:48Speaker 3: The last time I went there, I just felt this kind.
- 41:50Speaker 2: Of coming out to us, like, ah, this this just reeks. Yeah,
- 41:54Speaker 2: this ain't great like the Eureka. Maybe where the name
- 41:57Speaker 2: comes from, maybe the.
- 42:00Speaker 3: Yeah Urica Dando here mister creative, whether he's coming up
- 42:05Speaker 3: with a new chance or you know, sort of urine
- 42:08Speaker 3: based what do you call it? Variations on the on
- 42:11Speaker 3: nightspot names.
- 42:12Speaker 2: I have not been to. Nick and I went out
- 42:14Speaker 2: for a drink. We got probably drunk about three weeks
- 42:17Speaker 2: ago and we consider going to Lamby's, but it was
- 42:19Speaker 2: it wasn't the right night for it. You have to
- 42:20Speaker 2: go on the right nights for Lamby's. I think it
- 42:22Speaker 2: was Saturday, and Saturday is no good for Lambia. It's
- 42:23Speaker 2: either Friday or Sunday. I think for lamb It's not
- 42:25Speaker 2: too sure. Maybe maybe went out on a Friday. I
- 42:27Speaker 2: can't remember, but your Lambias is the place I used
- 42:29Speaker 2: to really enjoy it. We look back now and think, man,
- 42:32Speaker 2: one fire and you're done for that post. It's a
- 42:35Speaker 2: it's a it's a enjoy your death thrap, ladies. That's
- 42:38Speaker 2: really is it really is only one fire? No no
- 42:41Speaker 2: fire exit, no fire exit. That joke not to the
- 42:43Speaker 2: best of my Oh maybe maybe I think there is one.

- 43:06Speaker 2: exclusive Facebook and Discord communities. So go ahead and support
- 43:10Speaker 2: the show today for as little as just one dollar
- 43:12Speaker 2: at patreon dot com slash fourthing a discount. But we
- 43:15Speaker 2: cut to two weeks later and Lisa is excited because
- 43:18Speaker 2: I was really confused with the timeline here. So she
- 43:21Speaker 2: goes test day and then they get to the school
- 43:25Speaker 2: and so did they take a practice test or something?
- 43:28Speaker 2: Is that what she's gonna be saying? Because Bart I
- 43:31Speaker 2: filled out my answers with this, and he says, You've
- 43:33Speaker 2: got a perfect score, and Lisa's like, what did I get?
- 43:36Speaker 2: What do I get? She's like freaking out over the
- 43:37Speaker 2: score result, and I'm like, wait, wait, they're doing the
- 43:40Speaker 2: test today. Did they take a practice test? And she
- 43:44Speaker 2: wanted to get good on the practice test? Maybe that's
- 43:46Speaker 2: what it was.
- 43:47Speaker 3: Well, she's a bit of a bit of an overachiever,
- 43:49Speaker 3: Yeah she is. Yeah, Dad, black Juise future, who.
- 43:53Speaker 5: You know who will sell oranges on you? Off rand.
- 44:00Speaker 2: Home and wwocking him saying who's going to sell oranges
- 44:01Speaker 2: on the freeway now whatever? I'm like, yeah, it felt
- 44:04Speaker 2: cruel when Lisa was saying the other day. But Homer
- 44:07Speaker 2: and Bart can I kind of acknowledge this kid's gone.
- 44:09Speaker 2: No way. I've set this level, You're probably going to
- 44:13Speaker 2: reach this level. Yeah, and we can both accept that.
- 44:15Speaker 2: But Homan then checks the pantry. As he calls it,
- 44:17Speaker 2: there's a pack of chips, snarees eating some food and
- 44:18Speaker 2: we can see the insurance are still sitting in there.
- 44:20Speaker 2: They do the rule of threes. So he goes weed
- 44:23Speaker 2: a minute, opens it up, gets a napkin, close it again,
- 44:26Speaker 2: Weed a minute. There's something else he does, but he
- 44:28Speaker 2: doesn't touch the insurance envelope. Skinner greets Bart and Lisa
- 44:32Speaker 2: as they get dropped off and says Bart got a
- 44:33Speaker 2: perfect score and I was about to write my notes.
- 44:36Speaker 2: Oh fuck off, this is so lame, it's so stupid.
- 44:39Speaker 2: Can we not go down that route? And Lisa only
- 44:41Speaker 2: got ninety six percent correct because, as she says, she
- 44:44Speaker 2: got ninety six and ninety eight ninety six of it,
- 44:47Speaker 2: ninety six could be ninety eight. Let us know be blue?
- 44:51Speaker 2: Who could be orange? Should we? What did you watch
- 44:52Speaker 2: this episode? Did you watch several? More than a few.
- 44:56Speaker 2: It's more than a few, but almost a bunch. And
- 44:58Speaker 2: he says, because you've got such a good score, I
- 44:59Speaker 2: guess on the at this test, but you exempt from
- 45:01Speaker 2: the test and you're going to be riding the helicopter.
- 45:04Speaker 2: And he takes them to the helicopter and I just.
- 45:06Speaker 3: Got wait a minute, what's going on here?
- 45:08Speaker 2: What's going on here?
- 45:09Speaker 3: I must admit though, I mean, is it? This is
- 45:12Speaker 3: where he's walking to the helicopter and the school band
- 45:16Speaker 3: is playing like the Rocky theme or something? Did wouldn't
- 45:19Speaker 3: you like to once in your life enter a place.
- 45:23Speaker 2: And the theme song to.
- 45:25Speaker 3: Introduce to introduce dando, We're going to play the Rocky theme.
- 45:27Speaker 2: It's like, well, you need to get married, that's how
- 45:29Speaker 2: you do it. What did you interview your wedding? I
- 45:31Speaker 2: don't think we actually had music really. We entered to
- 45:35Speaker 2: You're My Best Friend Queen? Like cool theme is? I
- 45:38Speaker 2: know what you're trying to say? Though, usually like guys
- 45:40Speaker 2: when they walk down the eye with the Greensman, it's like,
- 45:42Speaker 2: what are they walking down to?
- 45:44Speaker 3: Or yeah, I say I decided to I don't know,
- 45:47Speaker 3: make it late career pivot and going to m m ah.
- 45:50Speaker 2: What would be my theme music is? Can we Max?
- 45:56Speaker 2: I entered to my wedding with my Greensman to the
- 45:59Speaker 2: Degeneration an X theme song. Wrestling fands that they will
- 46:02Speaker 2: know what it is. It's like, are you ready they know?
- 46:04Speaker 2: But DX is a faction, a group, and we did
- 46:08Speaker 2: the DX pos and we got to the front. Yeah,
- 46:10Speaker 2: wrestling fans will know that. One fantastic. Uh listening to
- 46:15Speaker 2: something I think it was, I've forgot it was Eddie Murphy,
- 46:17Speaker 2: but he was talking about Mark Tyson. I think I
- 46:19Speaker 2: was watching some YouTube video game up with or Eddie
- 46:23Speaker 2: Murphy's impressions of various people. He was saying that Mark
- 46:26Speaker 2: Tyson used to end of the ring and he never sung.
- 46:28Speaker 2: He just had like one note, like a bass note.
- 46:30Speaker 2: Just that's terrifying. Yeah, there's a wrestler in aw who
- 46:35Speaker 2: comes out and it's just literally just and it's like,
- 46:38Speaker 2: that's scarer than anything. Oh. Absolutely, I don't need cool
- 46:42Speaker 2: fucking music. It's just the sound about. It's just doom.
- 46:44Speaker 2: It's impeded, it's impending doom. I love it.
- 46:48Speaker 3: I love it anyway. But yes, but they get on
- 46:51Speaker 3: the get on the helicopter.
- 46:52Speaker 2: Yes, they do get on the helicopter, which turns out
- 46:54Speaker 2: to be Conna Air as you mentioned earlier, and Charmers
- 46:56Speaker 2: also send skin out there as well. Because I don't
- 46:58Speaker 2: know why thinks very little Skinner, they would have needed
- 47:02Speaker 2: someone to look after them.
- 47:03Speaker 3: I think so yeah, and yeah, Charmers, that's probably thinking, ah, well,
- 47:07Speaker 3: another opportunity to get one over on this shomp.
- 47:10Speaker 2: So they leave Springfield, which is referred to as the
- 47:13Speaker 2: armpit of America's butt crack on the sign and Bart
- 47:15Speaker 2: explains to the other kids, go the other bulls. They
- 47:17Speaker 2: think they're actually going Tottle City. That's where they are going.
- 47:21Speaker 2: They think they're going somewhere different though, Oh what was it?
- 47:24Speaker 2: I can't quite did you watch this episode? Did you
- 47:26Speaker 2: watch this episode? That could be a new running fit?
- 47:29Speaker 2: So that he said they're going to be going somewhere
- 47:32Speaker 2: and they don't realize this is all a scan, but
- 47:34Speaker 2: explains it skinners circus. Maybe I don't know, but he says,
- 47:38Speaker 2: they're actually going to watch the episode, so we're going
- 47:40Speaker 2: to be hiding you all in Capital City. Meanwhile, Homer
- 47:42Speaker 2: arrives at work, finds his ID and then in the
- 47:45Speaker 2: glove box in the pantry, and then realize, oh shit,
- 47:48Speaker 2: the insurance form still in here as well, so he
- 47:50Speaker 2: realizes he's now financially responsible for his own actions. And
- 47:53Speaker 2: then things start going wrong. I think lightning strikes right
- 47:55Speaker 2: next to him, he starts panicking up. This is a
- 47:57Speaker 2: fun story, but it would have got old by the
- 47:59Speaker 2: end of it. I'm assuming him trying to avoid danger.
- 48:01Speaker 2: But I think Homer doing a Final Destination parody throughout.
- 48:05Speaker 2: I think that's that's a perfect They may have already
- 48:07Speaker 2: done it, forgive me because I haven't seen them all,
- 48:08Speaker 2: but a trios of horror on Final Destination would be cool.
- 48:12Speaker 3: Oh sure, yeah, I mean I'm wondering what sort of
- 48:15Speaker 3: comedic spin you could put on it. What's the premise
- 48:17Speaker 3: for it. I mean, I think this is a good
- 48:19Speaker 3: premise to sort of have that. But yeah, I love
- 48:22Speaker 3: the idea of him just trying to avoid trouble or
- 48:25Speaker 3: trying to avoid catastrophe.
- 48:26Speaker 2: In the simplest of scenarios. Oh yeah, we wouldn't normally
- 48:29Speaker 2: not think anything could possibly go wrong.
- 48:32Speaker 3: Well, when we talk about those Final Destination movies and it,
- 48:34Speaker 3: you know, just the real joy of them is, like
- 48:37Speaker 3: you can just tell the glee that the storytellers have
- 48:40Speaker 3: got into. Okay, this looks like the most innocent of situations.
- 48:44Speaker 3: We're sitting here in Dando's podcast studio. But that light,
- 48:48Speaker 3: what's the holy shit, crash bandicoot up there. He looks
- 48:51Speaker 3: like he's help some spiky shit that could end up
- 48:53Speaker 3: in my skull, all that kind of business, and just
- 48:55Speaker 3: take that and you run.
- 48:57Speaker 2: We want to get to hear? How do we get there? Yeah? Yeah,
- 49:00Speaker 2: it's like putting together mouse trap, very much, very much.
- 49:04Speaker 2: Those cool videos you see on YouTube where it's like
- 49:05Speaker 2: all these different contraptions to get a basketball to go
- 49:07Speaker 2: into a hoop. It's like, are they cool videos on YouTube?
- 49:10Speaker 2: There's many cool videos on YouTube? Are they like like six?
- 49:14Speaker 2: And it depends on you subscribe to? Okay, you want
- 49:17Speaker 2: to get into the dark corners of YouTube, you know
- 49:19Speaker 2: when it's like two am and in a dark corner,
- 49:21Speaker 2: like how did I get to hear? And you're like
- 49:22Speaker 2: backtrack from that video to that video. I'm like, how
- 49:24Speaker 2: did this video suggestions lead to this? Because I watched this,
- 49:29Speaker 2: all my suggestions is going to be about this.
- 49:31Speaker 3: I watched one video saying the doomers are right, and
- 49:35Speaker 3: now all of a sudden, there's just dooms growing all
- 49:37Speaker 3: the time.
- 49:39Speaker 2: Have fun or not?
- 49:41Speaker 5: Dear stupid insurance company. I meant to mail this on time.
- 49:49Speaker 5: What do you mean? Too bad? Screw you eh, yeah.
- 49:55Speaker 2: He tries to drop it off, but he's going to
- 49:57Speaker 2: be back in three hours or back at three pm.
- 49:58Speaker 2: Maybe back I think it's back three pm, like a
- 50:01Speaker 2: three pm, Yeah, definitely three Did you can watch this episode?
- 50:03Speaker 2: Because he's stopping his daughter's wedding is the reason he's
- 50:05Speaker 2: not there anywhere?
- 50:06Speaker 3: Yes, we've got three pm in our heads, but it
- 50:09Speaker 3: could well have been.
- 50:10Speaker 2: Well, definitely three pm, because it's that three oh one.
- 50:11Speaker 2: When Burns gets hurt.
- 50:12Speaker 3: He's like, oh yeah, absolutely, but yeah, the sign could
- 50:15Speaker 3: have said back in three hours, and we were doing
- 50:17Speaker 3: the matter.
- 50:18Speaker 2: It was back at three pm. Yeah, that makes more sense,
- 50:19Speaker 2: doesn't That's why it has to get two three pm? Yeah?
- 50:21Speaker 2: Did you even watch this episode? I try to, But
- 50:24Speaker 2: then the pop plant drops on Homer's arm and he
- 50:26Speaker 2: just basically tells the bruise to go away. So whatever,
- 50:28Speaker 2: It's now time for the test, the actual test in
- 50:30Speaker 2: the cafeteria, and Skinner Charmers tries to use some motivation
- 50:34Speaker 2: by saying, imagine each question is a baby chicken. If
- 50:36Speaker 2: you get it wrong, the baby chick dies. I would
- 50:38Speaker 2: have died anyway. That's unfortunately the how did he reach
- 50:41Speaker 2: this position? That's terrible, terrible advice. Yeah, I know that's
- 50:45Speaker 2: what with Alliott with his goal Kynoe. I always say
- 50:47Speaker 2: to him, treat every kick for goal like you're trying
- 50:50Speaker 2: to win the Grand Final. And there's a lot of
- 50:53Speaker 2: pressure in a kid. But it works for me because
- 50:54Speaker 2: now he kicks and he's just like he keeps goals mate,
- 50:56Speaker 2: Like he's just good at it. He's like, I try
- 50:58Speaker 2: to pretend like I'm this goal. It might just be
- 51:01Speaker 2: a practice shot after school, but I'm like, this has
- 51:03Speaker 2: to go through.
- 51:04Speaker 3: Okay, that's good that you were indoctrinating him from an
- 51:06Speaker 3: early I.
- 51:07Speaker 2: Might tugger Wood his dad and like the dad David
- 51:09Speaker 2: Beckham's dad was just the prick because I didn't realize
- 51:13Speaker 2: all these famous like MJ. Beckham, Tiger Woods, all these
- 51:17Speaker 2: number one stars of all time, they all had harsh
- 51:20Speaker 2: upbrings like their dads were pricks. Yeah. Absolutely, I don't
- 51:23Speaker 2: want to be that. But like I just tried to
- 51:25Speaker 2: say to Elliott, you have talent here, Let's not waste it.
- 51:28Speaker 2: You know.
- 51:28Speaker 3: Well, to quote Chris Rock, pressure creeds, dumbs not hugs.
- 51:35Speaker 2: A lot of people quoting Chris Rock lately, and Chris
- 51:37Speaker 2: Rock says this Chris Rocks, like, can we stop taking
- 51:41Speaker 2: advice from Chris Rock please? No?
- 51:43Speaker 3: No, that is full of good, good tips about some things.
- 51:47Speaker 2: Certainly about some things. Yes, he knows how to take
- 51:49Speaker 2: a hit, that's for sure.
- 51:51Speaker 3: Apparently Willis Smith referenced the slap in some songs related
- 51:55Speaker 3: or released just recently, and everyone's kind.
- 51:57Speaker 2: Of like, yeah, you should be really embarrassed, but you
- 52:00Speaker 2: kind of suck as a result of that. Don't release
- 52:02Speaker 2: songs anymore, will just.
- 52:03Speaker 3: Be or maybe just go enjoy your untold millions place
- 52:08Speaker 3: of an arts island.
- 52:09Speaker 2: But they're four minutes late to start. Is like, go go, go,
- 52:11Speaker 2: go go, And Lisa is just hearing all various sounds,
- 52:14Speaker 2: and I thought they really captured the vibe of what
- 52:16Speaker 2: you're doing a test when you sit in there and yeah,
- 52:18Speaker 2: you're nervous, you don't quite understand one of the questions,
- 52:21Speaker 2: and you're looking around the room and everything just seems
- 52:23Speaker 2: to be like amplified or who sounds everything, It's it's
- 52:25Speaker 2: nerve wracking. Oh yeah, absolutely, lot of pressure you put
- 52:28Speaker 2: on yourself doing these tests. And you look back here
- 52:29Speaker 2: and you think none of those tests mattered, none of them.
- 52:32Speaker 2: Oh no, absolutely not. That. I mean, they mattered, but
- 52:37Speaker 2: I would still be here if I didn't do that test,
- 52:38Speaker 2: you know what I mean? Oh yeah, Why did I
- 52:40Speaker 2: spend so many hours stressing about how I'm going to go?
- 52:42Speaker 2: It didn't matter. Yeah.
- 52:43Speaker 3: I have an incredibly vivid memory of when I was
- 52:46Speaker 3: in like fifth form or something and doing like.
- 52:47Speaker 2: A history yeah exam, and yeah it was typicult. Seventeen
- 52:53Speaker 2: year old wasn't paying attention to history. It didn't give
- 52:55Speaker 2: a shit, and I was looking at this I don't
- 52:58Speaker 2: know why. I remember this specific question was with like
- 53:00Speaker 2: some historical figure in England in the seventeenth century or whatever.
- 53:04Speaker 2: It's like, I don't know this at all. I don't know.
- 53:08Speaker 2: I've heard this guy's name, but I don't remember a
- 53:12Speaker 2: damn thing. And I was like, but I've gone George Washington.
- 53:15Speaker 3: I've got to write something down. I can't remember, like me,
- 53:18Speaker 3: what I wrote, but it was just not what was required.
- 53:21Speaker 2: Well, they were rewarded for guessing apparently. Oh yeah, apparently
- 53:24Speaker 2: I'm still here, so you know. So they're doing the
- 53:27Speaker 2: test and Lisa I liked that they referenced Millhouse's eyebrows here.
- 53:31Speaker 2: This is the first time his eyebrows I swear as
- 53:33Speaker 2: appeared in a previous episode the eyebrows, But maybe it's
- 53:35Speaker 2: not because I use this gift all the time with
- 53:38Speaker 2: Millhouse's eyebrows. This must have been the episode that featured it,
- 53:41Speaker 2: because I now that I look back, I'm thinking I
- 53:43Speaker 2: thought this was a back reference. But no, Maybe it's
- 53:45Speaker 2: just been such a part of my life that I
- 53:47Speaker 2: assumed we'd reviewed an episode that had the eyebrows already.
- 53:50Speaker 2: Could we had that feeling we had the Millhouse lower
- 53:52Speaker 2: those eyebrows. But the a bit there, that's a gift
- 53:55Speaker 2: that I use all the time. It feels like it
- 53:57Speaker 2: was before this. It does, doesn't it. But maybe it's not.
- 54:00Speaker 2: It's just gonna use it all the time. Who knows.
- 54:02Speaker 2: But she struggles with the first question. She's not having
- 54:04Speaker 2: a good time. They arrive at Capital City, which is
- 54:06Speaker 2: the birthplace of Capital Punishment.
- 54:08Speaker 3: That gig yeah, I think this might be the same.
- 54:11Speaker 3: I've written a note here. They're lingering a little long on.
- 54:14Speaker 2: The visual gags, okay, and that may be one of
- 54:16Speaker 2: the ones where the sign gig yeah, you've stayed on
- 54:20Speaker 2: this maybe two seconds too long. I should be able
- 54:23Speaker 2: to see it. Wait what yeah? Yeah? As opposed it
- 54:27Speaker 2: should be I blinkingly miss it. Yeah, as opposed to
- 54:30Speaker 2: Look how funny we are.
- 54:31Speaker 3: You're getting this right? Yeah, you guard it, you guard it.
- 54:34Speaker 2: The kids are still all mocking Skinner, Ralph needs potty
- 54:37Speaker 2: and Otto he's just dancing, and Odo is mesmerized by
- 54:40Speaker 2: his dance. As we said, oo very expendable at this
- 54:42Speaker 2: point anymore. You tell you what I want, what.
- 54:46Speaker 5: I really really want?
- 54:47Speaker 3: So tell me what you want?
- 54:48Speaker 4: What do you really really want?
- 54:49Speaker 1: I'll tell you what I want when.
- 54:50Speaker 3: I really really want, So tell me what you want.
- 54:52Speaker 5: What do you really really want?
- 54:54Speaker 1: Ralph? Are you almost finished?
- 54:55Speaker 2: I finished before we came in. They get back in.
- 54:59Speaker 2: The bus has been stripped and stripped. Yeah, I thought
- 55:03Speaker 2: Capital City was like the nice place. Apparently it's now
- 55:06Speaker 2: the ship place.
- 55:06Speaker 3: Well, every city's got the rocks. Wrong side of the
- 55:09Speaker 3: track has indeed.
- 55:09Speaker 2: Yeah, Skinner's worried Tho because they get to the corner
- 55:12Speaker 2: of Martin Luther King Boulevard and oars as.
- 55:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 55:17Speaker 2: Way, but that's it. There's no that's that's into the gag.
- 55:21Speaker 2: Is there a joke there that I'm missing? I would
- 55:24Speaker 2: speculate that we've got a whole bunch of white people here,
- 55:28Speaker 2: and they are at the corner of a whole bunch
- 55:29Speaker 2: of whe people right in the show as well, but
- 55:31Speaker 2: that is.
- 55:31Speaker 3: Correct, yes, And they are at a corner of an
- 55:34Speaker 3: Hispanic and an African American part of town. They might
- 55:38Speaker 3: be like, oh, now we're in trouble.
- 55:40Speaker 2: They can't be the joke, right, Is it a joke.
- 55:43Speaker 2: If it's a joke, it's not a good joke. Yeah,
- 55:45Speaker 2: I don't know, just unfounded white panic. Yeah, it just
- 55:48Speaker 2: goes nowhere. Homer is sneaking in the front door at home.
- 55:51Speaker 2: You just want to hurt himself, and he tells margin
- 55:53Speaker 2: needs to be safe or they're going to go to
- 55:54Speaker 2: the poor house or back to the poor house, as
- 55:56Speaker 2: March says. So she invites me to his book club,
- 55:58Speaker 2: and he says, that's the most boring thing ever, Thank
- 55:59Speaker 2: you so much. That's going to be I'm gonna be
- 56:01Speaker 2: safe here, or so he thought. He walks in and
- 56:04Speaker 2: he sees all he sees is danger. Yeah, and that's
- 56:07Speaker 2: the thing. If you are trying to avoid danger, you
- 56:10Speaker 2: see danger in everything. I can imagine living the life
- 56:12Speaker 2: of someone who find us the nation, everything would be
- 56:14Speaker 2: a worry to you. Like I can't walk anywhere. Everything's
- 56:17Speaker 2: going to have an impact. But if you lived your
- 56:18Speaker 2: life like that, like genuine, this is genuine life. Like
- 56:20Speaker 2: that's why I find us the nation works because everything
- 56:23Speaker 2: could kill you. Yeah, but if you lived your life
- 56:25Speaker 2: worrying about it, you wouldn't live a life like getting
- 56:27Speaker 2: into a car. They are a killing machine. How many
- 56:29Speaker 2: times have we said this?
- 56:30Speaker 3: Yeah, so many variables in the way you drive, so
- 56:33Speaker 3: many variables in the way other people do in the car,
- 56:36Speaker 3: in the road, other people's cars, mother nature.
- 56:39Speaker 2: Yeah, all it takes us a branch to fall in
- 56:41Speaker 2: front of a car. They swerve off, and then that's it.
- 56:43Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, I mean lucky you're with Amy, but sure, yeah, friend.
- 56:46Speaker 2: Of the pod. But Homer sees Haling her hair catches
- 56:50Speaker 2: on fire, which and then shoes get thrown to Cookie
- 56:53Speaker 2: Kwan's eyes, and Agnes gets cleaved, and a Nagel starts
- 56:56Speaker 2: kissing March and that's when you go, oh watch this
- 56:59Speaker 2: go fuck. This escalated real fast. But Homer's just imagining
- 57:05Speaker 2: Nagel kissing Marge. And yes, I said that kiss totally
- 57:08Speaker 2: would have been using a commercial. Lisa is still struggling
- 57:11Speaker 2: with the question so she skips the question too, did
- 57:14Speaker 2: like this use what you're learning question one? That happens
- 57:17Speaker 2: so often you're like, oh, but I couldn't do a
- 57:18Speaker 2: question one. But this is where Charmer says, you know,
- 57:23Speaker 2: you can guess. You get points for guessing. Oh you can't.
- 57:25Speaker 2: You don't do it, nobody guess. Just be right, get
- 57:28Speaker 2: on your knees and prayer to guy that you're going
- 57:29Speaker 2: to be correct. Do just just pray to anybody skinning.
- 57:32Speaker 2: The boys meanwhile still in Capital City, just running around.
- 57:36Speaker 2: What was were they just going to Capital City? Was
- 57:38Speaker 2: that just just go to Capital City for the Why
- 57:39Speaker 2: does go to some of the park whatever? Who cares?
- 57:44Speaker 2: So Ralph is now meanwhile missing, but he turns up
- 57:47Speaker 2: on a I think just a garbage barge. I guess
- 57:49Speaker 2: you call it? Yeah, yeah, barge. So they're called barges, right,
- 57:52Speaker 2: sounds about run. Did you watch this episode? I watched
- 57:54Speaker 2: her Just not know what barges are. I've always called
- 57:56Speaker 2: it a barge. Whether that's correct or I don't know,
- 57:57Speaker 2: I think it is. Maybe Homer needs to keep say
- 58:00Speaker 2: for ten more seconds he's watching Agnes. She drops the
- 58:03Speaker 2: cheese knife, like what are you doing? Women? So he
- 58:04Speaker 2: picks it up. Then Nagel's scarf is caught in the
- 58:07Speaker 2: nearly caught the fan, so he cuts that. Then he
- 58:09Speaker 2: gets caught in the fan, which calls him to fall
- 58:11Speaker 2: on the table. Picks from the cheese fall over, going
- 58:15Speaker 2: towards Lwan. He throws all the cheeses and stops the
- 58:17Speaker 2: more very matrixx Matrix X. Yes, and I did see
- 58:21Speaker 2: a funny clip from the Matrix recently yesterday. Actually it
- 58:23Speaker 2: was the news report to announce that The Matrix was
- 58:25Speaker 2: being filmed in Australia, like a new film starting count
- 58:29Speaker 2: Reads is now filming in Sydney. I want to say,
- 58:31Speaker 2: the Gold Coast. Whatever it's called, it's called the Matrix.
- 58:37Speaker 2: But so he saves the day there and Maggie shoots
- 58:40Speaker 2: the knife out of I don't know how the knife
- 58:41Speaker 2: gets into her cannon, but she shoots a knife out
- 58:43Speaker 2: the window or something and it hits Burns in the head.
- 58:46Speaker 2: And this whole next minute I just went this is gross.
- 58:49Speaker 2: This is just modern day Simpsons at its worst. Basically,
- 58:52Speaker 2: so Burns is bleeding everywhere, so lifts the knife out
- 58:54Speaker 2: of his head and the blood comes out. So he
- 58:56Speaker 2: then comes out of his nose. So Homer sucks on
- 58:59Speaker 2: his nose and the blood come out of home? Is it?
- 59:00Speaker 2: And I went, ah, we've done a noping out of
- 59:03Speaker 2: that state. We need to really get away from that
- 59:05Speaker 2: stupid comedy that the Simpsons does not need that at all.
- 59:09Speaker 2: March March forgiving him. It was almost at the point
- 59:14Speaker 2: where they wrote this line as if it was meant
- 59:16Speaker 2: to be ridiculous.
- 59:18Speaker 5: Are you mad I forgot to send into payment?
- 59:21Speaker 1: No, sweetie.
- 59:22Speaker 2: At this point in a marriage, a wife should know
- 59:24Speaker 2: what her husband can do and what he can't.
- 59:26Speaker 3: Was I to think you can nail and an envelope?
- 59:29Speaker 2: It's such a cop out ending to this. Yeah, but
- 59:33Speaker 2: the thing is they're just trying to basically establish at
- 59:35Speaker 2: this point that we know it's real. Nothing really matters.
- 59:37Speaker 2: It doesn't matter anymore. Yeah, nothing really metrics. Yeah, not
- 59:41Speaker 2: really metrics. But then I did like the follow up though,
- 59:44Speaker 2: is there snuggle insurance? Because if some I'm about to
- 59:46Speaker 2: file a claim And I'm like, okay, at least it's sweet. Yeah,
- 59:49Speaker 2: the word snuggle always gets me. Skinner then takes the
- 59:52Speaker 2: bart slingshot and he writes a note they used crane
- 59:55Speaker 2: to save the boy because the cranes are about to
- 59:57Speaker 2: be I think the pianos are falling. No, no, swe
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: something's gonna happen. Basically is gonna I think they were
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: dumping stuff onto that barge. They I'm not too sure,
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: but anyway, he basically wants the crane driver with the
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: storage unit to save Ralph. He sends the sling shot
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: hits the guy, which calls him to knock out, and
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: then he crashes. And then the pianos are falling out
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: the side of the shipping container and they're about to
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: fall on Ralph. So then he skinner than does something
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: that he hasn't done as a principal ever to this day.
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: Something runs on top of the shipping container whilst is
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: in the air. He uses centrifugal force, uses the momentum
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: to make it go away, and it ends up tipping
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: pianos into the orphanage for the musically Gifted. It all
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: worked out. Yeah, a nice little ridiculous moment. But that
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: felt like vintage Simpsons. Yeah. I was just about to
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: say that feels like season eight even earlier. I feel
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: like that feels like a Conra o' brian gag. Yeah,
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: just of course, the piano ha'sall into a gift that
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: the Ophage for the musically gifted. They're right back at
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: school just before that, though, he's reading The Muckleberry Finn.
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: So they're good book. Yeah, so they've learned shit. Now
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: they think he's cool. He's reading them an actual book
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: and they're enjoying that as well. Really greets and blah
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: blah blah, calls more names. Not really that important. Lisa
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: still doesn't know any answers though she can't do anything.
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: Millhouse apparently finished it and it's slows two minutes to spare. Yeah,
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: but rut it on his shirt to n't he or
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: I don't know, you've got stray marks and he's wiping off.
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: It didn't really go anywhere the Millhouse bit. No, really,
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: the pass should have been that he wasn't answering them
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: correctly or something. It was just sort of payoff there.
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: But Skinner enters and says, this test is a joke.
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: We're not going to be doing this. I now know
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: how kids really learn, and he's schooling me. Throwing it
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: at this test and basically just stopped in the test
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: isn't important. What's important is how we teach these kids.
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: I know how to teach kids now, which is a
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: very valid lesson. He learned something today, sure, yes, and
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: skin Lisa says, here, oh yeah, am my brain the
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: outcast again, and he also then lifts the band on
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: this is another padding lifts the band of dancing and
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: they dance the footloot for what feels like thirty plus
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: seconds if not more. Yeah.
- 1:01:47Speaker 3: Well, I mean it's really just the finale of yeah footloots, Yeah,
- 1:01:53Speaker 3: right down to all the dance moves and everything like that.
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: It's almost like a pitch perfect rendition of it. And
- 1:01:57Speaker 3: there's like, uh, another musical outro. I'm not sure about that,
- 1:02:02Speaker 3: but no, Footloose.
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: Is kind of a jam. So I've never really liked Footloose.
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: The song that's just one of those ones where I've
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: just gone run to Paradise is another one for me.
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: There there's some there's songs that songs that I don't
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: enjoy that. What's the bon Jovi song that I don't
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: really like? It's not is it Living on a Prayer?
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: Living on a Prayer? It's just those songs where I've
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: heard themselves and I go, it's just not for me.
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: I don't know, just I know I'm not saying it's bad,
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: but it's not for you. Yeah, Footloose? So I just
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: go Did you even listen to the song? Yeah? I
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: get people listen and enjoy Footloose. I've personally never seen
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: the movie, so I didn't realize it was a direct
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: reference to the end of the film. Ah, I think
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: cause I've never liked the song. I just never bother
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: watching the movie.
- 1:02:40Speaker 3: The original foot Loose is kind of fun. It's very
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: eighties Bacon, right, yeah, Bacon.
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: And then they did a remake like in the two
- 1:02:48Speaker 3: thousands or the twenty tens or something. Did they really
- 1:02:50Speaker 3: yeah with Was there a TV show foot Loose?
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: I don't think so. Okay, yeah, I'll take that back.
- 1:02:57Speaker 3: The remake was fine. Actually one of the first pearances
- 1:03:00Speaker 3: of Myles Teller. Okay, yeah, he was really goodn't it?
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: Kid?
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: Can dance Footloose? TV show? Is there anything? Is it?
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: Was there a Roadhouse TV show?
- 1:03:10Speaker 3: No, but there was a Roadhouse remake that was on
- 1:03:11Speaker 3: Amazon Prime.
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: Assumed it was a show maybe, Yeah, So when it's
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: on the streaming service, I was always assume it's a show.
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: I get where you're coming from, but your Footloose was
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: twenty eleven. Wow, that long ago. Kenny Warman, there's Ren McCormack.
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: A city. A city kid moves to a small town
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: where dancing is banned.
- 1:03:30Speaker 3: Apparently apparently it's based on a true story.
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the story of Footloos.
- 1:03:35Speaker 3: You would have these towns in say like Middle America
- 1:03:38Speaker 3: that were sort of like in the buckle of the
- 1:03:39Speaker 3: Bible belt or whatever, and they were.
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: Like no dancing at all.
- 1:03:44Speaker 3: Yeah, they had their reasons, and I'm sure the makers
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: of Footloots just sort of said you can't dance. Wait
- 1:03:50Speaker 3: what Yeah, it was probably part of some other overall
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: statute or something like, you know, you can only dance
- 1:03:55Speaker 3: in say it's certain authorized gatherings or something like that
- 1:04:00Speaker 3: or whatever. It's like, what, you can't dance?
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: Watch this? Wait a minute, and that's.
- 1:04:07Speaker 3: What would happen. It's been a long time since I saw.
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: Footloot, But well, it makes the ending makes a little
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: bit more sense. They're knowing that's a direct reference. I'm
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: just going, why is charmers just dancing for like thirty
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: seconds here? Oh yeah, that makes more sense now. But
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: still padding, Oh, definitely padding, Yeah, more padding in the Paddington.
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: I think if there was less padding throughout the episode,
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: this one wouldn't have felt so.
- 1:04:28Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: I mean they they've done this in the past with
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: the end to the Mister Burns Larry Burns episode anywhere
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: you one, what's that that? That's from Caddyshack, caddy Shack. Yes,
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: so it's worked, but it's.
- 1:04:41Speaker 3: Also a shout out to Rodney Dangerfield as well.
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, because there's no really reference too loose throughout
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: the episode at all? Is it not at all? No,
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: not at all. If Kevin Bacon was a guest, start
- 1:04:50Speaker 2: would have made more sense. Makers of the show. Did
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: you even watch this episode? Yeah? Who knows? Anyway, overall,
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: I don't think it was a terrible episode. I thought
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: it was a lot to enjoy.
- 1:04:58Speaker 3: Actually, yeah, well we certainly found a lot talk about. Yeah,
- 1:05:00Speaker 3: I mean, even if neither of us watched it.
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: And I think we just need to accept that every
- 1:05:03Speaker 2: episode is going to have moments that make us annoyed.
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: Nothing's going to be fantastic anymore. But just try and
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: find some positives. But we will point out when things
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: are ridiculous as well. Oh yeah, we have to. It's
- 1:05:14Speaker 2: our sacred duty. It is our sacred duty to make
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: you realize what's good and what's bad. In Season twenty

- 1:05:56Speaker 2: what a glovebox was used for.
- 1:05:57Speaker 3: I'm very glad that we actually did a little dive
- 1:06:00Speaker 3: into history and found out what a glove box and

- 1:06:07Speaker 3: While I would never take place I will never take
- 1:06:09Speaker 3: part in any actual Olympics, I would probably get a

- 1:06:48Speaker 2: Oh that is clever Kyle. That puts him on eight points,
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: which means he's atright third now eight points, but on clever.
- 1:06:55Speaker 3: Carle continuing to bring the cleverness. Well done, Kyle is Indeed,
- 1:07:00Speaker 3: two points goes to Schoolhouse Kroc. Schoolhouse Croc would be
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: Brian Hughes.
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: Hu's he Mian Hughes. That puts him on two puts
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: him back into third position on nine points. Wow.
- 1:07:14Speaker 3: It's like watching over wacky races or something, you know,
- 1:07:17Speaker 3: at the end of the wacky races, coming up on
- 1:07:19Speaker 3: third a second or basically any race, not just the
- 1:07:24Speaker 3: wacky races. But one point, no.
- 1:07:28Speaker 2: Sorry, three points, two points?
- 1:07:30Speaker 3: Yeah, what am I talking about three points goes to
- 1:07:35Speaker 3: save the last dunce?
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: Said the last dunce that would be Philip J. Hawkins.
- 1:07:41Speaker 2: I say that because he's now first physician, got that jack,
- 1:07:43Speaker 2: He's got the javak. He is now on fifteen points
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: in first position. Can you believe it? His name is Jared?
