Transcript
- Lucas: Luna, ready for another episode of Learn Telugu with Fexingo? We've been buying so many things at the market lately — onions, tomatoes, rice. Luna: I know! My kitchen is stocked. But today I want something different. Something pretty. Lucas: Oh, what would that be? Maybe flowers? పూలు? Luna: Yes! పూలు. I love fresh flowers. How do I tell the vendor I want flowers? Lucas: Simple. You say: పూలు కావాలి. That means 'I want flowers.' Say it with me: పూలు కావాలి. Luna: పూలు కావాలి. పూలు కావాలి. That feels nice. Lucas: Good. Now, you see some beautiful jasmine flowers. You want to ask the price. Say: ఈ పూలు ఎంత? — How much are these flowers? Luna: ఈ పూలు ఎంత? ఈ పూలు ఎంత? Got it. But what if I specifically want jasmine? Lucas: Then you say: మల్లెపూలు ఇవ్వండి. 'Give me jasmine flowers.' మల్లెపూలు is jasmine flowers. Try it. Luna: మల్లెపూలు ఇవ్వండి. మల్లెపూలు ఇవ్వండి. That's a mouthful but I like it. Lucas: Perfect. And when the vendor asks if you need anything else, you can say: అంతే. 'That's all.' Let's practice the whole scene. Luna: Okay, I'm at the market. I see flowers. I say: పూలు కావాలి. Lucas: The vendor shows you jasmine. You ask: ఈ పూలు ఎంత? Luna: He tells you the price. You say: మల్లెపూలు ఇవ్వండి. Lucas: He bundles them. You say: అంతే. Perfect! Luna: This is so practical.
