- 0:01Speaker 1: Jerry, Katy and Josh one hundred.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Katie, you had a pretty epic weekend, sep.
- 0:08Speaker 1: I'm so tired, so I am rolling off two hours
- 0:12Speaker 1: of sleep less. Well I did, I know I did, But.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Man, so how is the Western Slope?
- 0:18Speaker 1: The Western Slope's great. I miss it so much every
- 0:21Speaker 1: time I go back. I'm just like thrown into nostalgia.
- 0:25Speaker 1: I love it over there, and I especially love it
- 0:27Speaker 1: when it's peach season. Right. The Peach Fest was this
- 0:31Speaker 1: past weekend, and it really was a lot of fun. Like, uh,
- 0:34Speaker 1: they take over like Palisade is where it's at if
- 0:36Speaker 1: you're not familiar, the famous Palisade Peach that's where it's
- 0:40Speaker 1: come comes from. But they're big parks there. They turn
- 0:43Speaker 1: it into a big like farmer's market on steroids. Like
- 0:47Speaker 1: they have everything you can imagine, everything, truck everything, peach.
- 0:51Speaker 1: They're selling clothing that's peach themed. They've got like animals
- 0:56Speaker 1: out there who are dressed as peaches.
- 0:58Speaker 2: I saw you dress as Princess Peach.
- 1:01Speaker 1: No, but there is a Peach princess not to be
- 1:04Speaker 1: confused with the video game character, and a Peach queen.
- 1:09Speaker 1: So there's a lot of Peach themed stuff. Going on.
- 1:11Speaker 1: I saw a peach eating contest, which is kind of gross.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, and one guy ate six peaches in
- 1:23Speaker 1: a minute. If you could imagine what that looks like.
- 1:27Speaker 2: Difficult.
- 1:28Speaker 1: I feel like he ate a pit somewhere going down.
- 1:31Speaker 1: How did you eat all that so quick?
- 1:33Speaker 3: Some old guys out there, He's like, you know, and
- 1:35Speaker 3: you shwallow a peach pit, You're gonna grow a peach tree.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Exactly exactly. But one of the funny so this year
- 1:41Speaker 1: for peaches, I mean, if you can think back, like,
- 1:43Speaker 1: our winter was a little out of the ordinary, right,
- 1:47Speaker 1: we didn't necessarily get the typical Colorado snow filled winter
- 1:52Speaker 1: that we normally get, and that really affected the produce
- 1:55Speaker 1: over there on the Western Slope. So part of it
- 1:58Speaker 1: was that they had so many hot days. I mean
- 2:01Speaker 1: I was talking to one of the peach farmers and
- 2:03Speaker 1: he said they had a string of like twenty straight
- 2:06Speaker 1: days of over one hundred and that is not good
- 2:10Speaker 1: for the produce over there. So from what I understand,
- 2:12Speaker 1: it was a bad year for the produce over on
- 2:15Speaker 1: the Western Slope, and there were a lot of people
- 2:17Speaker 1: who weren't able to, you know, provide the peaches that
- 2:22Speaker 1: you expect, yeah, to.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Get your peach of five.
- 2:25Speaker 1: I mean, because when you think about the peaches, it's
- 2:27Speaker 1: the big, fat peaches and when you take them there iconic,
- 2:30Speaker 1: they're so juicy that it drips down your arm. This
- 2:33Speaker 1: is how people describe Palisade peaches.
- 2:36Speaker 2: It's true.
- 2:36Speaker 3: Yeah, No, it has to have the Palisade marketing lady
- 2:40Speaker 3: come into the radio station each and every year with
- 2:42Speaker 3: a bushel. Ye, she'd bring us a bushel and we'd
- 2:44Speaker 3: have some on the air, and it was our engineer
- 2:46Speaker 3: hated it because we'd have peach juice all over the equipment.
- 2:49Speaker 2: Here, sure, what you doing peaches in the studio?
- 2:52Speaker 1: Well, and I had friends who had never been to
- 2:55Speaker 1: the peach festival, and so they were looking forward to it.
- 2:57Speaker 1: But we got there and one of my friends had
- 3:00Speaker 1: a peach and it was not good. It was hard.
- 3:04Speaker 1: It was not the typical Palisade peach that you would expect.
- 3:08Speaker 1: And we were talking to people who said because of
- 3:10Speaker 1: the weird weather, because it got so hot, the peach
- 3:13Speaker 1: trees blossomed like two to three weeks early, and then
- 3:17Speaker 1: we had a crazy freeze, so it wiped out a
- 3:20Speaker 1: good chunk of a lot of the produce, but.
- 3:22Speaker 2: The stuff you don't want too well, and the stuff.
- 3:25Speaker 1: That wasn't wiped out, it was so small. So that's
- 3:27Speaker 1: the thing. If you get Palisade peaches this year, you'll
- 3:30Speaker 1: notice number one, they are way smaller than they typically are,
- 3:35Speaker 1: and that is because they weren't able to you know,
- 3:37Speaker 1: the weather parabort.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Full maturity.
- 3:40Speaker 1: They didn't reach that big, big stage. But what it
- 3:43Speaker 1: did is like, so it's because it's small. The sugars
- 3:46Speaker 1: are concentrated for some of them. So if you found
- 3:49Speaker 1: someone who is able to keep their peaches in order,
- 3:52Speaker 1: you were able to get the small peaches. But they
- 3:54Speaker 1: were full of sugar, so they were super super sweet.
- 3:56Speaker 1: If you were able to find something now good enough
- 3:59Speaker 1: for me, I know a peach guy, Like I lived
- 4:02Speaker 1: on a peach orchard. You guys know this. So I
- 4:04Speaker 1: went out to my peach guy. I got some really
- 4:06Speaker 1: good peach you know, produce, got some good peach options.
- 4:11Speaker 3: Somebody to take a shot. Every time you hear the
- 4:13Speaker 3: word peach during this conversation.
- 4:18Speaker 2: Shot peach.
- 4:19Speaker 1: It was peachest.
- 4:20Speaker 2: Okay, that's awesome.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Yeah, well I didn't okay, So I was sitting at
- 4:27Speaker 1: the chef demos out there at the peach fest that
- 4:29Speaker 1: they were talking about. You know, people brag about that,
- 4:32Speaker 1: like all the time I lived over there, And that's
- 4:34Speaker 1: one of the things you can brag about the food
- 4:37Speaker 1: because it is superior to the food over here on
- 4:39Speaker 1: the Western Slope, and it just is. I'm sorry to
- 4:41Speaker 1: tell you this, but the peaches are better over there
- 4:44Speaker 1: because because it gets so hot during the day and
- 4:46Speaker 1: so cool at night, it stresses the produce. It's not
- 4:51Speaker 1: only that, but it stresses them out, which makes them
- 4:53Speaker 1: work harder, which makes them create more nutrients.
- 4:56Speaker 4: Which makes it a better peach. It's a stressed it's
- 5:00Speaker 4: science better.
- 5:02Speaker 2: And this sounds like this.
- 5:04Speaker 1: So the grass also super stressed, right, Grass even needs
- 5:09Speaker 1: to stress out to grow, so it has extreme nutrient
- 5:13Speaker 1: volume in it as well. So then when you have
- 5:15Speaker 1: the cows and the pigs and all the animals that
- 5:17Speaker 1: eat the grass, it has the more nutrients. Then their
- 5:20Speaker 1: meat is super tasty too. So now we got tasty cows,
- 5:23Speaker 1: we got tasty picks. It sounds like you're on grass,
- 5:26Speaker 1: tasty grass.
- 5:27Speaker 2: I've been saying it all morning. Don't shook him. Now
- 5:31Speaker 2: where the cattle was. The cattle smaller this year too.
- 5:34Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know.
- 5:36Speaker 2: I was little cows you can ride around on.
- 5:38Speaker 1: I don't know if you want me going off on
- 5:40Speaker 1: a cow ran.
- 5:40Speaker 2: It's okay.
- 5:41Speaker 1: We made it this far. On the peaches. I think
- 5:44Speaker 1: you probably just want me to curb it here.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Honestly, you brought peach donuts and they look really good,
- 5:48Speaker 2: really good. I'm excited to try one.
- 5:50Speaker 1: I also bought a peach cobbler.
- 5:53Speaker 2: Peach cobbler, which is the one that you said had
- 5:55Speaker 2: the hole in it. I know, uh dots, Okay.
- 5:59Speaker 1: That's all right, chrisking of the peach cobbler. I got
- 6:01Speaker 1: it from the Marching Band, and I just felt bad
- 6:03Speaker 1: because I wanted to help send them to State.
- 6:05Speaker 3: I don't know about that beach poisoning. We were talking
- 6:12Speaker 3: about you last week because this is the event where
- 6:15Speaker 3: you were going to go stay at the Airbnb. It
- 6:17Speaker 3: was two couples and then Katie truly like the fifth Wheel,
- 6:21Speaker 3: I know, and they were we were talking about like
- 6:24Speaker 3: how you were going to pay and all that. How
- 6:25Speaker 3: did it play out?
- 6:26Speaker 1: It was we split it between the five of us,
- 6:29Speaker 1: so that was nice.
- 6:31Speaker 2: They hear the show.
- 6:31Speaker 1: I didn't. I think one of them might have actually
- 6:36Speaker 1: good and so yeah, that was kind of brought to
- 6:39Speaker 1: my attention that they were going to do that. So
- 6:42Speaker 1: I kind of figured that maybe somebody did hear it.
- 6:44Speaker 1: That's fantasic, kind of a big deal about but you know, again,
- 6:48Speaker 1: save you some cash. It did save me some cash.
- 6:50Speaker 2: How did the gas work?
- 6:51Speaker 1: The gas was fine. I rode over with them, so
- 6:54Speaker 1: we were, you know, tag team in that as well
- 6:56Speaker 1: as far as who would pay for what because gas
- 6:58Speaker 1: be expensive right now, and even driving like we were
- 7:02Speaker 1: helping driving, I was driving a lot. Well, we were
- 7:04Speaker 1: in town since I was familiar with everything and knew
- 7:07Speaker 1: where to go. So yeah, I think everything worked out
- 7:09Speaker 1: pretty well. But I was anticipating it because two of
- 7:14Speaker 1: the people who were showing up I'd never met. So
- 7:17Speaker 1: Julia and Matt what up, my new homies. I'd never
- 7:21Speaker 1: met them, so coming in that was gonna be something
- 7:25Speaker 1: I was anticipating. But my friend Amy was telling me
- 7:28Speaker 1: that Julia specifically, now you know, she's Matt and Brendan
- 7:32Speaker 1: were the two guys who were there, and so they
- 7:34Speaker 1: were kind of hanging out. But Julia, I was told specifically,
- 7:37Speaker 1: is like one of the nicest people you'll ever meet.
- 7:41Speaker 1: So I was really excited to meet Julia because from
- 7:43Speaker 1: what I understood, she was like a ray of sunshine. Right,
- 7:46Speaker 1: And so Julia and Matt show up, and they couldn't
- 7:49Speaker 1: have had a better description for Julia. I mean, she
- 7:51Speaker 1: was just such a nice person, easy to get along to,
- 7:54Speaker 1: super funny, very very likable. And her fiance Matt, also
- 7:59Speaker 1: the same. Right. So we did all this fun stuff.
- 8:01Speaker 1: We went to Peachfest, we went to all the restaurants together.
- 8:04Speaker 1: We just had the best time. And they're a little
- 8:06Speaker 1: younger than me, so I was trying to not really
- 8:09Speaker 1: impress them, but I was just trying to hang right,
- 8:12Speaker 1: be one of the crew, and I really thought I
- 8:15Speaker 1: was doing it. I was like, oh my gosh, I'm
- 8:17Speaker 1: making friends. This is great, We're having a great time.
- 8:20Speaker 1: And then the last day, okay, the last day, we're
- 8:24Speaker 1: all packing everything up and Julia comes into my bedroom
- 8:28Speaker 1: and she was just like, this is so much fun.
- 8:29Speaker 1: This was really just like a really good vacation. I'm
- 8:32Speaker 1: glad that we all got to hang out.
- 8:33Speaker 2: And da da da da da.
- 8:34Speaker 1: She's like, hey, did you happen to see may my
- 8:39Speaker 1: pink toothbrush. I was just like, no, I don't know
- 8:44Speaker 1: what you mean, and she's like, yeah, I had a pink,
- 8:46Speaker 1: pink toothbrush. I left it in the bathroom and she's like,
- 8:49Speaker 1: I went for it last night and I couldn't find it.
- 8:51Speaker 1: And I was just wondering if maybe somebody knocked it
- 8:53Speaker 1: off the counter one and I was just like, huh,
- 8:58Speaker 1: I haven't seen. But it's funny. I also have a
- 9:01Speaker 1: pink toothbrush, because you know, you.
- 9:04Speaker 4: Don't have your regular toothbrush, you have the travel toothbrush,
- 9:07Speaker 4: so I'm not familiar with even I'm not used to
- 9:10Speaker 4: my toothbrush, right. So I was doing so good, and
- 9:19Speaker 4: then I found out that the last night I went
- 9:24Speaker 4: to bed before everybody because I go, I wake up
- 9:26Speaker 4: early and I'm just in the cycle, right, So I
- 9:28Speaker 4: say good night to everybody Saturday night, and I must
- 9:32Speaker 4: have just grabbed her toothbrush off the counter toothbrushes somebody
- 9:37Speaker 4: I just met.
- 9:38Speaker 1: I used her toothbrush, and I mean I went because
- 9:42Speaker 1: I ate a lot of peaches. Really brush my teeth
- 9:47Speaker 1: is basically kids.
- 9:50Speaker 2: Kids.
- 9:50Speaker 1: I ate a lot of peach based stuff. The funniest
- 9:53Speaker 1: part was trying to because I was like completely convinced
- 9:56Speaker 1: I had not stolen. This disgusted and so then I
- 10:01Speaker 1: had to like really collect my stuff, like collect myself,
- 10:06Speaker 1: and I was like, Julia, I'm so sorry. I don't
- 10:10Speaker 1: know if I took your toothbrush. All I know is
- 10:12Speaker 1: I also have a pink toothbrush. So then I I
- 10:15Speaker 1: tugged through my stuff.
- 10:16Speaker 2: I was gonna say where was Yours was.
- 10:19Speaker 1: In the very bottom of my makeup bag, in a
- 10:23Speaker 1: bag underneath everything. So I didn't I didn't see. I
- 10:28Speaker 1: did not notice that I had used somebody else's toothbrush.
- 10:31Speaker 3: I can't a bottle of CoA.
- 10:38Speaker 1: So not only did I use it that night, I
- 10:41Speaker 1: woke up the next morning.
- 10:42Speaker 2: And brush my teeth again.
- 10:44Speaker 4: So twice I used her too, And then once I figured.
- 10:48Speaker 1: It out, I gave it back, like she's gonna use
- 10:51Speaker 1: that tooths? Right?
- 10:53Speaker 2: Did she take it?
- 10:54Speaker 1: She did, but I think she just did it to
- 10:55Speaker 1: be nice.
- 10:56Speaker 2: I think she was.
- 10:58Speaker 1: We all had a really laugh about it. But I mean,
- 11:01Speaker 1: you know, she went home and told her fiance.
- 11:05Speaker 2: Is an idiot us B. She really it is damn funny.
- 11:11Speaker 2: That's so good teeth helly, like that's.
- 11:20Speaker 1: All right, and so yeah, it was. It was fun
- 11:22Speaker 1: to hug her goodbye and say I'm sorry I used
- 11:25Speaker 1: your tooth breather you breath breath smell exactly.
- 11:30Speaker 3: We pretty much so since you had two couples with
- 11:34Speaker 3: you at the airbnb, who a side note off the
- 11:36Speaker 3: air you were talking about how madly in love.
- 11:38Speaker 2: They all are. Oh yeah, did you like they all are?
- 11:41Speaker 2: Because the out of town? Did you hear anything?
- 11:45Speaker 1: Hear anything? But no, there was a lot of PDA though.
- 11:50Speaker 1: But I was happy for them, you know what I mean,
- 11:52Speaker 1: because it's like they like each other that much that
- 11:55Speaker 1: they can't keep their hands off each other even watching
- 11:59Speaker 1: it doesn't a fan of the I don't like it either,
- 12:03Speaker 1: and I get it though, but I I'm just happy
- 12:06Speaker 1: for them and it doesn't bother me because like I
- 12:10Speaker 1: can walk away, right, Like That's what I always think, Like,
- 12:13Speaker 1: if something like that bothers me, I can just walk
- 12:15Speaker 1: away from it.
- 12:16Speaker 3: But what if you're like sitting in an applebee, isn't
- 12:17Speaker 3: there directly across from me at the booth and you
- 12:19Speaker 3: get to watch it the whole time a little more
- 12:21Speaker 3: cooth than that it When you're out and about you
- 12:24Speaker 3: see the people just going to town on each other,
- 12:26Speaker 3: and you're like, although you know, I've been married forever,
- 12:29Speaker 3: so I don't know.
- 12:30Speaker 2: Maybe if I had new love, i'd be like that too.
- 12:32Speaker 1: This new couple who couldn't keep their hands off each other.
- 12:35Speaker 1: They were both kind of in relationships previously where things
- 12:38Speaker 1: had fizzled out, and yeah, they're back at it exactly
- 12:42Speaker 1: a new thing for them.
- 12:43Speaker 2: They're brushing each other's teeth with the.
- 12:46Speaker 1: Yes, exactly so. But it was a fun weekend. It
- 12:49Speaker 1: was definitely a good weekend. I made some new friends
- 12:52Speaker 1: and I really made a new friend and Julia.
- 12:55Speaker 2: That's fantastic. All right. So speaking of music, Katie.
- 13:02Speaker 1: It's a mistake.
- 13:04Speaker 2: Is so happy. It's made me so happy this morning.
- 13:08Speaker 3: So funny because you rushed back from Palisade, right, yeah,
- 13:13Speaker 3: like you zipped in yesterday.
- 13:15Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, just because you want to go to a concert, right.
- 13:18Speaker 1: Oh, I've been looking forward to that Good Charlotte concert. Yeah. Yeah,
- 13:22Speaker 1: it was Avenged Sevenfold and Good Charlotte. But I was
- 13:25Speaker 1: really just looking forward to seeing Good Charlotte. I mean
- 13:28Speaker 1: I listened to that self titled album multiple times a week.
- 13:32Speaker 1: I mean that's the ones I listened to on my
- 13:34Speaker 1: run and walks, and so I am just consumed with
- 13:37Speaker 1: their music. So they were at Ball Arena. And I've
- 13:39Speaker 1: been looking forward to this show pretty much since I
- 13:42Speaker 1: heard it announced. So yeah, my plan was to make
- 13:46Speaker 1: it back from the Western Slope in time to see
- 13:48Speaker 1: this show. It was supposed to start at seven o'clock
- 13:50Speaker 1: at Ball Arena, right, and again it had an opening act,
- 13:54Speaker 1: so I thought, opening act starts at seven o'clock. Right,
- 13:59Speaker 1: they're gonna go for an hour and some change. Sure,
- 14:01Speaker 1: that's usually how it goes. And the terns, everybody's out
- 14:06Speaker 1: getting their drinks, and I'm thinking, by nine o'clock, Good
- 14:09Speaker 1: Charlotte's gonna take the stage. They'll be on till ten
- 14:12Speaker 1: thirty eleven, and it'll be the best show ever and
- 14:14Speaker 1: I'm gonna have the time of my life. And I'm
- 14:16Speaker 1: gonna be tired today, but it'll be fine because I
- 14:19Speaker 1: got to see Good Charlotte. Well that is not what happened.
- 14:23Speaker 2: What happened.
- 14:24Speaker 1: I show up to Paul Arena at like eight forty five,
- 14:28Speaker 1: and I'm like, I'm early, this is perfect, And I
- 14:32Speaker 1: park and I go into the building and I see
- 14:35Speaker 1: all these people in the concourse and they have the
- 14:38Speaker 1: Avenge sevenfold shirts on. So I'm like Oh, well, they're
- 14:41Speaker 1: not staying there, They're gonna dip whatever. It's fine. I'm
- 14:45Speaker 1: here for Good Charlotte. That just means I could maybe
- 14:48Speaker 1: move down even further into the concert and be even
- 14:50Speaker 1: closer to one of my favorite acts. So I get
- 14:54Speaker 1: up to where I'm supposed to be and I'm actually
- 14:57Speaker 1: in a suite, right And so I get in there
- 14:59Speaker 1: and I will open the door and there's nobody in
- 15:01Speaker 1: there and everywhere. Well, no, I'm excited because I'm like,
- 15:06Speaker 1: I get the whole suite to myself.
- 15:08Speaker 2: That's a good feeling. This is the best.
- 15:10Speaker 3: We get those tickets and we are in there early
- 15:13Speaker 3: and get to enjoy it for like, you know, half
- 15:15Speaker 3: an hour before anyone else.
- 15:16Speaker 2: It's a good feeling.
- 15:17Speaker 1: That's when you do all your videos, you take pictures
- 15:20Speaker 1: your loving life. But it's funny because as I'm rolling
- 15:23Speaker 1: into the suite, I noticed that Good Charlotte has already
- 15:26Speaker 1: taken the stage, and I was like, oh, I'm glad
- 15:28Speaker 1: I didn't miss so much. And they're playing Lifestyles of
- 15:31Speaker 1: the Rich and the Famous, which is one of their
- 15:33Speaker 1: the biggest song, yeah, biggest song, arguably their biggest song.
- 15:36Speaker 1: And I'm like, oh, they opened with it, Well, that's
- 15:39Speaker 1: a nice little twist, isn't. It's not.
- 15:44Speaker 4: They're like, good night everybody, and their big good Charlotte
- 15:49Speaker 4: brand goes up on the screen.
- 15:52Speaker 1: All the lights come on, and I was like, hey,
- 15:55Speaker 1: wait what hap? I could not be it. The show
- 16:01Speaker 1: was done at nine o'clock and I still don't know
- 16:05Speaker 1: how that happened.
- 16:07Speaker 3: First of all, that's hilarious, it's not. You didn't notice
- 16:10Speaker 3: that the parking lot was like full. No people were leaving,
- 16:13Speaker 3: nobody was in line, people were walking in the other direction,
- 16:16Speaker 3: and you're like.
- 16:17Speaker 1: Dude, do do do? When they scanned my ticket, they
- 16:20Speaker 1: were like, Hi, what.
- 16:23Speaker 2: You didn't notice any none of it?
- 16:25Speaker 1: None of it. I at nine o'clock at night, I
- 16:27Speaker 1: am so in my own zone. It's eight forty five.
- 16:30Speaker 1: Let's get up to that. I'm going to be like,
- 16:32Speaker 1: you know, let's get maybe some popcorn before I take
