- 2:18Speaker 8: morning and welcome to the show.
- 2:19Speaker 4: And happy Friday, hey hey, Happy Friday. And happy Father's
- 2:23Speaker 4: Day too, hey.
- 2:25Speaker 10: Yeah, Happy Father's Day to all the fathers.
- 2:27Speaker 8: Not to you necessarily, but happy Father's Day all day,
- 2:31Speaker 8: all right. So I am proud to say that, for
- 2:34Speaker 8: the first time in at least several weeks, I actually
- 2:37Speaker 8: know what the name of the pet references this week,
- 2:41Speaker 8: because you guys have gotten in and then, you know,
- 2:44Speaker 8: from when Ryan Nicholson produces the show. I always have
- 2:47Speaker 8: to ask him what does this name mean? Because you
- 2:49Speaker 8: guys are all about this nineties video Harry Potter stuff,
- 2:52Speaker 8: and I have no idea what you're talking about. I
- 2:54Speaker 8: know I know what Danny California is, all right. That's
- 2:57Speaker 8: a song by the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
- 2:59Speaker 10: I know that, Thank you because I picked that one out.
- 3:04Speaker 8: I'm glad you know, yes, yes, and d For the
- 3:06Speaker 8: first time in several weeks, Danny California is this week's
- 3:09Speaker 8: adopt Me. Please put her the week A great looking dog.
- 3:11Speaker 8: I've got the picture posted over on Dave Island Radio,
- 3:14Speaker 8: on Facebook and at Dave A seventy one X.
- 3:17Speaker 4: Tell us about Danny California.
- 3:20Speaker 10: I would love to talk about Danny California at this point,
- 3:23Speaker 10: She's probably my favorite shelter pet we have. She is
- 3:27Speaker 10: the most gentle natured, sweet dog that I have come
- 3:30Speaker 10: across working at the shelter. She's fade up to date
- 3:34Speaker 10: on her vaccines. She's really good with kids. We actually
- 3:38Speaker 10: went to Camp virgil Tate for a four age assembly
- 3:42Speaker 10: to speak to you kids of all ages, and she
- 3:44Speaker 10: was literally pulling me to go say hello to all
- 3:47Speaker 10: these kids. She greeted all the kids with like wagging tail.
- 3:51Speaker 10: She was given out kisses. So she's very sweet and
- 3:55Speaker 10: extremely friendly with other dogs. The only setback Danny has
- 3:59Speaker 10: is she does not like cat. But you know, it's
- 4:03Speaker 10: totally possible to find a home out there that also
- 4:05Speaker 10: does not like cats. But like I said, she is
- 4:09Speaker 10: literally the perfect dog.
- 4:11Speaker 4: What kind of dog is issue? Do we have any idea?
- 4:15Speaker 10: I would say she's probably like a pity mix of sorts.
- 4:19Speaker 10: I don't have documentation that says that, so I just
- 4:22Speaker 10: go with a large mixed breed. But pity is probably
- 4:26Speaker 10: in the lineage. She just has that head shape for it.
- 4:29Speaker 8: I kind of saw that in the picture, Angie that
- 4:32Speaker 8: you sent me last night. I thought there may be
- 4:33Speaker 8: a little pit in this dog somewhere, which look. You know,
- 4:38Speaker 8: and you know you deal with animals all the time,
- 4:41Speaker 8: as that is your job. But people give pit bulls
- 4:45Speaker 8: and other dogs a bad name. But I also know
- 4:49Speaker 8: people that have had pure bread pit bulls and they'll
- 4:51Speaker 8: tell you that they are some of the most loving, gentle,
- 4:54Speaker 8: and sometimes timid dogs that there are out there.
- 4:57Speaker 4: They're not there.
- 4:58Speaker 8: It's not in their nature for most of these dogs
- 5:01Speaker 8: to be aggressive. Normally people make them aggressive.
- 5:05Speaker 10: Yeah, I would agree with that, And if you like,
- 5:08Speaker 10: I've found that people either really love pit bulls and
- 5:10Speaker 10: that's their favorite, or they do not like them at all,
- 5:13Speaker 10: which is fine. Everyone has preferences. I'm not a big
- 5:16Speaker 10: fan of chiuawas, but so if you are somebody that
- 5:20Speaker 10: just doesn't really like pit bulls or haven't met the
- 5:23Speaker 10: right one yet, please come to the shelter and meet Danny.
- 5:25Speaker 10: I promise she will change your entire opinion on titties.
- 5:28Speaker 4: And any idea on age, any idea.
- 5:32Speaker 10: I would say, like around two three, that's kind of
- 5:35Speaker 10: what I thought, puppy. But she's not old either.
- 5:38Speaker 4: So about two or three and she is. She's already
- 5:42Speaker 4: ready to go. She's fixed and faxed and ready to
- 5:44Speaker 4: go right.
- 5:45Speaker 10: Correct, as soon as you adopt her, she's ready to
- 5:47Speaker 10: go home with you.
- 5:48Speaker 9: All right.
- 5:49Speaker 8: We'll get back to Danny, California a little bit later on.
- 5:51Speaker 8: I do want to remind you that the Day Violance

- 6:08Speaker 8: towards better health Today. We had a text about this,
- 6:10Speaker 8: and I was going to get to this, but I
- 6:12Speaker 8: do appreciate the texture for texting this. And you had
- 6:15Speaker 8: a little incident with the dryer at the shelter.
- 6:18Speaker 10: I understand we did yesterday when we all arrived at
- 6:23Speaker 10: the shelter. We were like, it smells in here and
- 6:26Speaker 10: not like it normally does different kind of smell, thinks,
- 6:29Speaker 10: but not the normals tink, and so we were walking
- 6:33Speaker 10: around and turns out the dryer was actually on fire.
- 6:36Speaker 10: We were able to put the fire out ourselves, and
- 6:39Speaker 10: then later on in the day we noticed that it
- 6:42Speaker 10: was still smoldering, that they were embers in the dryer. So,
- 6:45Speaker 10: of course, like we are all asked to leave the
- 6:48Speaker 10: shelter as the fire department is checking the situation out.
- 6:52Speaker 10: And we are super thankful for the Charleston Fire Department
- 6:54Speaker 10: and anyone that responded to that that got our animals
- 6:58Speaker 10: to safety, got us safety. But for the time being,
- 7:02Speaker 10: we usually have two industrial dryers for our kennels. We're
- 7:06Speaker 10: down to one right now, but we are super blessed
- 7:10Speaker 10: and thankful because we have a lot of our volunteers
- 7:12Speaker 10: coming and taking laundry into their personal homes to help
- 7:15Speaker 10: us keep up with it. So everyone is safe, but
- 7:19Speaker 10: we are working on getting a new dryer.
- 7:21Speaker 4: Well, what can people do to help?
- 7:23Speaker 8: I mean, are you accepting donations or I know I
- 7:27Speaker 8: saw on your Facebook page that you were asking if
- 7:28Speaker 8: anybody even had an old dryer that they would be
- 7:30Speaker 8: willing to let you borrow until you can get yours
- 7:34Speaker 8: fixed or get a new one or whatever.
- 7:36Speaker 4: What can people do to help?
- 7:38Speaker 10: So we actually have somebody that donated an old dryer,
- 7:42Speaker 10: and we unfortunately oldly have room for one in the shelter.
- 7:45Speaker 10: So we're super thankful for that that that problem has
- 7:48Speaker 10: already been taken care of. And if you still have
- 7:50Speaker 10: an old dryer, keep us on the line because who
- 7:53Speaker 10: knows when that other one will go out. But in
- 7:57Speaker 10: the meantime, if you want to donate in any type
- 8:00Speaker 10: of lemons that are already washed so we can immediately
- 8:03Speaker 10: start using them, that would be super helpful.
- 8:05Speaker 4: Yeah, that's a great idea if you.
- 8:08Speaker 10: Want to, which I know it's a big ass because
- 8:10Speaker 10: you know, our laundry is pretty dirty. If you want
- 8:13Speaker 10: to grab a bag, take it home and bring it back,
- 8:15Speaker 10: we'd also be thankful for that.
- 8:17Speaker 8: Indeed, we're talking to Angie gill and Water from the
- 8:19Speaker 8: Canal Charleston Humane Association about the little minor inconvenience that
- 8:23Speaker 8: they had up there yesterday.
- 8:25Speaker 4: I do understand.
- 8:26Speaker 8: I saw where a group of volunteers are going to
- 8:30Speaker 8: be having a yard sale, and we could talk about this,
- 8:32Speaker 8: but it is going to be next Saturday, Next Saturday,
- 8:35Speaker 8: one week from tomorrow, eight am till three pm, twelve
- 8:37Speaker 8: forty eight Green Briar Street. So one good kind of
- 8:40Speaker 8: put that on everybody's radar.
- 8:43Speaker 10: Yes, so, our group of our dedicated volunteers have gathered
- 8:47Speaker 10: supplies around the shelter, supplies from their homes, etc. They
- 8:53Speaker 10: are having that yard sale. It's at the shelter, twelve
- 8:56Speaker 10: forty eight Green Briar Street, and they would love a
- 8:59Speaker 10: big turnout, Becau. They have been working so hard on
- 9:01Speaker 10: this and all proceeds made from this yard tale go
- 9:06Speaker 10: directly back to KHA, so is another plus and why
- 9:10Speaker 10: you should stop by.
- 9:11Speaker 8: And again that's next Saturday. We'll remind people about it
- 9:13Speaker 8: next week on the show, But next Saturday at the
- 9:15Speaker 8: shelter eight am up until three pm. Are you guys
- 9:19Speaker 8: out at about anywhere this weekend?
- 9:21Speaker 10: We are not because I will actually be on vacation
- 9:23Speaker 10: this weekend. We are getting back into it next week.
- 9:26Speaker 4: Well, are you going to be back for the segment
- 9:29Speaker 4: next Friday?
- 9:30Speaker 10: Yes, so for sure I wouldn't miss it.
- 9:33Speaker 4: She said, tongue in cheek.
- 9:34Speaker 8: All right, So we had a question here for you
- 9:38Speaker 8: about pitts. And somebody said, it seems that the pities
- 9:41Speaker 8: are the most common breed that the shelter gets in.
- 9:44Speaker 4: Is that true and why they are so sweet? Says
- 9:47Speaker 4: the texter.
- 9:49Speaker 10: Yeah, so, at least for our shelter, it seems that
- 9:51Speaker 10: we get a lot of pity mixes. But looking at
- 9:54Speaker 10: shelters across the nation, like if you compare us to
- 9:57Speaker 10: a shelter in Texas, the that you'll see in the
- 10:01Speaker 10: shelters kind of vary. So I know, Texas is kind
- 10:03Speaker 10: of jam packed with like husky shepherds things of that
- 10:07Speaker 10: nature right now. But for us, definitely, it does seem
- 10:10Speaker 10: that it's more so like the pity mixes and the
- 10:12Speaker 10: West Virginia brown dogs. I wish I had an answer.
- 10:16Speaker 10: I wish I had an answer for that. I would
- 10:18Speaker 10: love to, you know, find the reason why we're seeing
- 10:22Speaker 10: so many of this particular dog in our shelter. That
- 10:25Speaker 10: way I can stop this particular dog having to spend
- 10:28Speaker 10: so much time there. But I just I would think
- 10:31Speaker 10: that it's people, you know, not staying and uttering their
- 10:34Speaker 10: pets and then they end up just multiplying and there
- 10:37Speaker 10: are too many of these pity breeds and pity mixes,
- 10:40Speaker 10: and not enough homes for these city breeds and pity mixes.
- 10:44Speaker 10: But that would be my guess. That's why we're seeing
- 10:46Speaker 10: so many specifically in our area.
- 10:48Speaker 8: All Right, hey, Angie, I appreciate you being here. Enjoy
- 10:52Speaker 8: your short vacation. We'll talk again next Friday.
- 10:55Speaker 9: Okay, alrighty sounds good, Angie, get on.
- 10:58Speaker 4: Water can all Charlesty Main Association.
- 11:00Speaker 8: Yeah, they had that dryer issue up there yesterday, So
- 11:02Speaker 8: if you can help them out with that, even if
- 11:05Speaker 8: you could just take in some some of their linens
- 11:07Speaker 8: or you've got some fresh linens that you could donate,
- 11:10Speaker 8: they certainly would appreciate it. And again that big yard
- 11:13Speaker 8: sale that they're having at the shelter, that'll be next Saturday.
- 11:16Speaker 4: We'll give you the details. We'll get a little closer.
- 11:18Speaker 8: But again, this week's adopt me, please spend it the
- 11:20Speaker 8: week Danny California. And again, I'm proud of myself because
- 11:23Speaker 8: I actually knew this week what the name referenced. It
- 11:27Speaker 8: saw him by the red hot chili peppers. So Danny
- 11:30Speaker 8: California is our dog. A little bit of pity mixed
- 11:33Speaker 8: in there. She said, about two years old, sweet girl already.
- 11:37Speaker 8: She's already been spade, she's already been vaccinated. She is
- 11:40Speaker 8: ready to go out the door. A very very sweet dog.
- 11:43Speaker 8: Love people, love kids. Just no cats, all right, That's
- 11:46Speaker 8: the only thing. Just no cats. If you want to
- 11:48Speaker 8: see Danny California's picture, I've got it posted on Dave

- 16:03Speaker 8: talk line guys will go up there and broadcast live
- 16:06Speaker 8: and just to talk to.
- 16:07Speaker 4: These young men and women that get get that full scholarship.
- 16:10Speaker 13: You to get a great you're going to get a
- 16:13Speaker 13: great liberal arts, You're going to get great education. And
- 16:16Speaker 13: our president there right now James Moore is just I
- 16:19Speaker 13: think he's crushing it. He's doing really well.
- 16:22Speaker 3: I love him.
- 16:22Speaker 13: You've talked to him, you interviewed him, We talked about
- 16:25Speaker 13: him before. I think I was with him a couple
- 16:27Speaker 13: of weeks ago. But now yes on to season twenty one,
- 16:30Speaker 13: week number three of the Moses Art Group Live on
- 16:33Speaker 13: the Levee. I think I circled this one when we
- 16:35Speaker 13: announced that I love this. So first of all, at
- 16:38Speaker 13: six o'clock. Please note the time, folks, six o'clock. I
- 16:41Speaker 13: keep emphasizing the time this year because we're starting just
- 16:44Speaker 13: a little earlier than six thirty. So at six o'clock
- 16:48Speaker 13: for sixty minutes, taking center stage down at had that
- 16:51Speaker 13: river front Park on the show and bomb stage. We
- 16:54Speaker 13: all know him and love him. You can't get.
- 16:56Speaker 3: Enough of them.
- 16:57Speaker 13: The Esquires are back and they were formed in nineteen
- 17:00Speaker 13: sixty four, but they're great cover, they're great dance, and
- 17:04Speaker 13: they play all that amazing music, a lot of motown,
- 17:07Speaker 13: a lot of music from the sixties. So if you're
- 17:10Speaker 13: my age year older, you love that stuff, and young
- 17:12Speaker 13: people still love It's timeless that that ear was timeless,
- 17:15Speaker 13: absolutely timeless, and so the Esquires are playing. I can't
- 17:19Speaker 13: wait to see those guys, and they do a great job.
- 17:22Speaker 13: So yeah, put your dance and shoes on. You can't
- 17:24Speaker 13: help yourself. It's really some feel good energy and some
- 17:27Speaker 13: timeless tunes. As I mentioned, we take a little break.
- 17:30Speaker 13: At seven o'clock, we get our T shirt tosses in
- 17:33Speaker 13: thanks to.
- 17:33Speaker 3: The East Coast Ts. You know East Coast T's right boy,
- 17:36Speaker 3: Steve does these coasts.
- 17:37Speaker 4: I'm familiar.
- 17:38Speaker 13: He does the T shirts for us, brought to you
- 17:40Speaker 13: by the City of Charleston Parks and Recreation. So we'll
- 17:42Speaker 13: toss some T shirts up into the audience. We'll say
- 17:45Speaker 13: I have a few announcements, talk about the charity, and
- 17:47Speaker 13: then at seven point thirty, so excited to hear this band.
- 17:51Speaker 13: They're called the Chicago Rewired. Of course, it's the premiere
- 17:55Speaker 13: tribute band for one of America's greatest acts of all time.
- 18:00Speaker 13: I'm Chicago, Chicago Dave.
- 18:02Speaker 3: I looked it up.
- 18:03Speaker 13: One hundred million records, so one one hundred million, twenty
- 18:08Speaker 13: one top ten singles, five consecutive number one albums, eleven
- 18:12Speaker 13: number one singles. I mean, we're going to know every song.
- 18:15Speaker 13: You're going to know every song. Yeah, and there's like
- 18:17Speaker 13: eight or nine members. They hail from the Charlotte, North
- 18:20Speaker 13: Carolina area, but they'll have your trombones and trumpets and drums,
- 18:25Speaker 13: and you know they sound good. It just close your
- 18:28Speaker 13: eyes and there you are listening to Chicago again, just
- 18:31Speaker 13: like it's nineteen seventy eight or eighty two. And I
- 18:34Speaker 13: just think it's going to be a really neat night,
- 18:37Speaker 13: the soundtrack to some great memories for many of us.
- 18:40Speaker 13: So come down, it's been a difficult week, Get a
- 18:43Speaker 13: bite to eat in the beverage of your choice. They're
- 18:46Speaker 13: going to play for ninety minutes until nine o'clock. Then
- 18:49Speaker 13: we'll do the fifty to fifty drawing, where we help
- 18:52Speaker 13: those charities every Friday, the Great Fun for a great cause.
- 18:57Speaker 13: We help our CCR, the Covenant House, Sojourners, Shelter, Manner,
- 19:00Speaker 13: Meal and KVC Collective. We've raised one hundred and twenty
- 19:05Speaker 13: five thousand dollars since we started doing this and it's
- 19:08Speaker 13: just really neat.
- 19:09Speaker 3: So support the fifty to fifty.
- 19:10Speaker 13: Buy a fifty to fifty ticket or twenty or fifty,
- 19:13Speaker 13: and then we'll do the drawing at nine o'clock and
- 19:16Speaker 13: then we'll call it call it a night. But I
- 19:18Speaker 13: think it's supposed to be pretty I think it's supposed
- 19:21Speaker 13: to be in the eighties, about eighty eight at six
- 19:23Speaker 13: and then dropped to about eighty or seventy nine by
- 19:26Speaker 13: eight or nine o'clock that evening. I think the humidity
- 19:28Speaker 13: is going to be low, and I think everything's lining
- 19:31Speaker 13: up for us to have a pretty entertaining evening. Again,
- 19:36Speaker 13: tough week, Come down, hug your friends, hug your neighbors,
- 19:40Speaker 13: get a bite, and just kind of escape for a
- 19:43Speaker 13: couple hours if you can.
- 19:45Speaker 8: Nine twenty six for Day Onland showing five eighty line
- 19:47Speaker 8: brought to you a part by Morgan and Morgan America's
- 19:49Speaker 8: largest injury a law firm. And thing about Chicago is
- 19:52Speaker 8: Jimbo in Chicago's really in a lot of people's eyes.
- 19:55Speaker 8: Is basically two different groups, because in the nineteen late sixties,
- 19:59Speaker 8: early seven, he's twenty five or six to four? Does
- 20:01Speaker 8: anybody know what time it is? Beginnings and all that stuff.
- 20:05Speaker 8: And then in when Peter Seta joined, they became almost
- 20:09Speaker 8: a softer adult contemporary group with songs like You're the
- 20:13Speaker 8: Inspiration and Stay the Night and several other hits that
- 20:18Speaker 8: they had in the nineteen eighties. But I don't know
- 20:21Speaker 8: what these folks do. But generally speaking, these type bands,
- 20:24Speaker 8: they try to cover it all.
- 20:25Speaker 13: They cover it all. And I mentioned some of the numbers.
- 20:29Speaker 13: There's probably not going to be a song in ninety
- 20:31Speaker 13: minutes that they play that you absolutely don't know. They
- 20:35Speaker 13: so a little sidebar. My dad was a roadie. He
- 20:38Speaker 13: hauled concerts for a living, all the big names. So
- 20:42Speaker 13: he calls me ten twelve years ago, I can't remember,
- 20:45Speaker 13: and he said, Jimmy, you want to come see me
- 20:47Speaker 13: in Cincinnati. I said, Dad, I'd love to see you
- 20:49Speaker 13: in Cincinnati. He said, he said, I'm hauling the Doobie
- 20:52Speaker 13: Brothers in Chicago. And it was a little amphitheater in
- 20:55Speaker 13: Cincinnati on the river over there, probably not as big
- 20:59Speaker 13: as our levee, not as big as a hat at
- 21:01Speaker 13: Riverfront Park, so it was quaint.
- 21:03Speaker 3: Six to eight thousand people. I don't even think that
- 21:05Speaker 3: was probably four or five thousand people.
- 21:07Speaker 13: I go, yeah, Dad, I said, I Likedobie, I like
- 21:09Speaker 13: the Doobie Brothers, and I like Chicago, but I'm coming
- 21:11Speaker 13: to see you. So my wife and I go over there.
- 21:13Speaker 13: My dad's a big deal, and I didn't know. He
- 21:16Speaker 13: was the lead driver for all these concerts, so he
- 21:18Speaker 13: knew all these musicians. He got me right on the
- 21:21Speaker 13: front row, he got me backstage, introduced to me to
- 21:25Speaker 13: all these Now, I'm not much of a music guy
- 21:28Speaker 13: like you got like you are. I just like him,
- 21:30Speaker 13: and I introduced them, and I think it's neat. I
- 21:32Speaker 13: like the smiles that I see. I like the feel
- 21:34Speaker 13: goodness of music. But sitting there with the Doobie Brothers
- 21:37Speaker 13: and then Chicago came on, I mean those Chicago not
- 21:39Speaker 13: I mean not that the Chicago Rewires is not going
- 21:41Speaker 13: to be.
- 21:41Speaker 3: Great, but it was Chicago.
- 21:42Speaker 13: Yeah, absolutely, And it was one of the greatest nights
- 21:45Speaker 13: of my life, just going backstage and being with my father,
- 21:48Speaker 13: being with my bride, listening to some timeless tunes.
- 21:51Speaker 3: It was. It was a good memory.
- 21:53Speaker 13: I'll probably go back to that Cincinnati night a couple
- 21:57Speaker 13: of times this evening listening to.
- 21:58Speaker 4: Chicago Yeah and sin his Father's Day weekend.
- 22:01Speaker 3: It is Father's Day weekend. Why way to put a
- 22:03Speaker 3: bow on that?
- 22:03Speaker 4: One's big, big, big shout out to all the dads
- 22:06Speaker 4: out there.
- 22:07Speaker 3: Absolutely, brother, how is the weather looking?
- 22:09Speaker 4: Because you gotta you gotta mention I mean.
- 22:11Speaker 3: It looks like the humidity is going to be low.
- 22:13Speaker 3: It's going to be warm.
- 22:14Speaker 4: I think I know there are expected to be some showers.
- 22:17Speaker 4: It's going to be gone.
- 22:17Speaker 13: That's why I think. That's why I think the humidity
- 22:19Speaker 13: might drop. I think the shower might come in. There's
- 22:22Speaker 13: whether people are saying, who are these weather people? You know,
- 22:25Speaker 13: we know these weather people. I want to be a
- 22:26Speaker 13: weather man when I grow up. But it doesn't matter
- 22:28Speaker 13: what you say. Just say it with flamboyant s. No,
- 22:30Speaker 13: I'm kidding all my weather guys. I love you guys.
- 22:32Speaker 3: But I think.
- 22:32Speaker 13: It's like eighty eight at six o'clock and then go
- 22:35Speaker 13: down to like eighty one eighty seventy nine by the
- 22:38Speaker 13: end of the evening. I don't think we're going to
- 22:40Speaker 13: have rain during the show tonight. I really think it's
- 22:43Speaker 13: going to be nice.
- 22:44Speaker 4: I think you're right.
- 22:44Speaker 13: I think the sun's coming out. We need we need
- 22:47Speaker 13: a normal levee night.
- 22:48Speaker 3: We haven't.
- 22:49Speaker 13: You know, we had fun with the cycling, but it
- 22:50Speaker 13: was modified schedule. I mean the monsoon last week, good
- 22:54Speaker 13: call not to have that. It was cold and rainy.
- 22:56Speaker 13: I was looking for flurries quite frankly, I was.
- 22:59Speaker 4: I was that too.
- 23:00Speaker 13: I was freezing and I'm going, boy, I'm glad we're
- 23:02Speaker 13: not down there. So I think we're going to reschedule
- 23:04Speaker 13: that one. By the way, Dave, that's what the city's saying.
- 23:06Speaker 13: So that'll be that'll be nice if we can get
- 23:09Speaker 13: that one in.
- 23:09Speaker 16: Well.
- 23:09Speaker 8: One of the great things I love about this town, Jim,
- 23:12Speaker 8: is that is that you know the group uh that
- 23:14Speaker 8: that was scheduled to play and of course they call.
- 23:16Speaker 4: Oh that's right.
- 23:17Speaker 8: They ended up over at five Street playing anyway impromptu concert.
- 23:22Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 23:22Speaker 13: I mean, people that went to that didn't make it over,
- 23:24Speaker 13: but they said that was phenomena.
- 23:26Speaker 4: That was that night.
- 23:27Speaker 8: I'm just sitting sitting on the like of scrolling social
- 23:29Speaker 8: media and I see pictures that they're over at five Street.
- 23:32Speaker 4: And yeah, the show.
- 23:34Speaker 3: It just came back to me the Nobs Brass band.
- 23:36Speaker 4: Yes, no, I mean, and I guess they figured, well,
- 23:39Speaker 4: we're already in town.
- 23:41Speaker 13: Where's your closest brewery where people will have fun listening
- 23:43Speaker 13: to us?
- 23:43Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 23:44Speaker 13: That that is a we are. We are a great town.
- 23:46Speaker 13: I appreciate this town. I love you guys. Come down
- 23:48Speaker 13: see me tonight, Come down and enjoy yourself. And have
- 23:51Speaker 13: a great time down at hat Ederver Front Park. Tonight
- 23:54Speaker 13: music at six with the Esquires, music at seven thirty
- 23:57Speaker 13: with Chicago Reward.
- 23:58Speaker 3: We'll see you downtown.
- 24:00Speaker 8: Before we let you go. And of course you were
- 24:02Speaker 8: one of the ones who took part in the show
- 24:04Speaker 8: the other day. You can do this, Jim. You're and
- 24:06Speaker 8: I appreciate you and everybody.
- 24:08Speaker 3: I'm better now than I was Wednesday.
- 24:10Speaker 8: I have never seen you, know, You're this big ball
- 24:13Speaker 8: of energy and always positive. I mean I always said
- 24:15Speaker 8: if it was raining hammers, you'd be out there going. Well,
- 24:18Speaker 8: at least it's not sledgehammers, right.
- 24:21Speaker 4: But you you know, you were obviously you.
- 24:24Speaker 8: And when I had you in here with the Mayor
- 24:25Speaker 8: and I had all these people, everybody was visibly upset
- 24:29Speaker 8: about the loss of dugscar.
- 24:30Speaker 13: Let me start with, I didn't know what I was
- 24:32Speaker 13: going to do. The morning after I late, I thought, well,
- 24:35Speaker 13: do I need to get out of bed? And then
- 24:39Speaker 13: after that ten or fifteen minutes, I thought, I absolutely
- 24:43Speaker 13: need to get out of bed. I absolutely need to
- 24:46Speaker 13: stay strong for one of my best friends. And then
- 24:49Speaker 13: you texted me, but I was already thinking I might
- 24:53Speaker 13: go in. So I heard you were going to do that,
- 24:56Speaker 13: and so I just might stop by, and then you
- 24:57Speaker 13: texted me, so then I'm thinking, all right, I'm gonna
- 25:01Speaker 13: go do this. And I walked in this studio and
- 25:04Speaker 13: when Hollis was sitting here and the mayor, and I
- 25:06Speaker 13: didn't expect to see I don't know who what I expected.
- 25:10Speaker 3: I cracked. You saw me cracked.
- 25:13Speaker 13: And I went over into the corner of the studio
- 25:16Speaker 13: here like I was wearing a Duncet cap, and I
- 25:19Speaker 13: turned my face to the corner, did I not? And
- 25:22Speaker 13: I mean, no one cries pretty, so I'm a pretty boy.
- 25:28Speaker 13: And I wasn't about to let people. It was hard, Dave,
- 25:31Speaker 13: and I sat down beside you, and I listened to
- 25:34Speaker 13: the mayor and I didn't look over at them, and
- 25:37Speaker 13: I hardly looked at you, Like I'm an eye contact guy.
- 25:39Speaker 13: I couldn't look at people. The numbness has worn has
- 25:43Speaker 13: worn off. I hope people could understand my message Wednesday morning,
- 25:47Speaker 13: because I know it was cracking a lot. I did
- 25:51Speaker 13: a few more interviews that day, and the more I
- 25:53Speaker 13: do discuss it, the more therapeutic it is for me,
- 25:57Speaker 13: and the stronger I get. My message is I'm staying strong,
- 26:02Speaker 13: and I encourage all of us to stay strong. I
- 26:05Speaker 13: encourage all of us to see what brother Doud was
- 26:08Speaker 13: and did, and I encourage us to do an h
- 26:13Speaker 13: of the good that he did. Remember that infectious smile,
- 26:18Speaker 13: Remember that charisma. Remember his ability to make our place better.
- 26:25Speaker 13: Remember his way to unify us. Remember what a great
- 26:31Speaker 13: father he was and a brother and a friend and
- 26:33Speaker 13: a son and am Remember what he did, Remember how
- 26:38Speaker 13: he did it. Remember all the good that he did,
- 26:41Speaker 13: and stay strong. And we need to honor his legacy
- 26:46Speaker 13: by doing more good. We need to be, you know,
- 26:50Speaker 13: more more more like him. And the fact that he
- 26:53Speaker 13: did so many things. Dave, I didn't say this on
- 26:56Speaker 13: a Wednesday, and maybe I did. Quite frankly, I don't
- 26:57Speaker 13: remember what I said. I didn't remember talking to you.
- 27:00Speaker 13: I said, hey, I'm coming in this morning.
- 27:02Speaker 1: You go.
- 27:02Speaker 3: I know we talked about it ago we did.
- 27:03Speaker 4: Yeah, we did.
- 27:04Speaker 13: And You're like, you gave me the out. You're like, Jimmy,
- 27:06Speaker 13: we're not thinking, well, this.
- 27:07Speaker 4: What he is the last couple of days.
- 27:09Speaker 13: So but he just he just grind it and made
- 27:12Speaker 13: sausage behind the scenes that no one saw, with no
- 27:16Speaker 13: cameras and no microphones around, and he worked just endlessly
- 27:20Speaker 13: and tirelessly, seemingly nineteen twenty twenty one hours a day
- 27:24Speaker 13: and took a cat nap at night. So just let's
- 27:29Speaker 13: just let's just remember him and do more good to
- 27:33Speaker 13: honor his legacy. And I'm going to lift him up
- 27:37Speaker 13: as long as I'm alive.
- 27:39Speaker 3: I'm want to lift him up.
- 27:40Speaker 8: I do want to mention and you provided us with
- 27:42Speaker 8: some information because a lot of people have been asking
- 27:44Speaker 8: about it. Visitation for Doug Scamp will be on Monday
- 27:48Speaker 8: at the State Culture Center from four until eight pm.
- 27:52Speaker 8: I'll be honest with you, and you and I were talking,
- 27:54Speaker 8: You're going to break there. I don't think the Culture
- 27:56Speaker 8: Center is big enough to be however, however, did it
- 27:59Speaker 8: how because I said it to be at the Collis
- 28:00Speaker 8: Sam But but but I do think and I really
- 28:03Speaker 8: hadn't thought about this. I mean, where else would you
- 28:05Speaker 8: have a bon culture set under the dome or or
- 28:07Speaker 8: at least across from the dome where he spent so much.
- 28:10Speaker 13: You're looking the dome is looking down exactly. That's it's appropriate,
- 28:14Speaker 13: at the family and at him.
- 28:15Speaker 8: Yes, And and that's that's the public visitation. There'll be
- 28:18Speaker 8: some private things for family members later, but four until
- 28:21Speaker 8: eight that will be the visitation for Doug scaff at
- 28:23Speaker 8: the State Culture Center on Monday. Hey, we had a
- 28:26Speaker 8: text here about video coverage of the concerts alive in
- 28:29Speaker 8: the level.
- 28:29Speaker 4: We don't, I don't.
- 28:31Speaker 3: We haven't done that. Yeah, we have not.
- 28:33Speaker 4: Well, you certainly can't put it online. We know that
- 28:35Speaker 4: because there's a copyright issues.
- 28:37Speaker 3: Is that that is a real thing.
- 28:38Speaker 13: Occasionally what we do and we haven't, we haven't videotaped it.
- 28:42Speaker 3: Occasionally.
- 28:42Speaker 13: What we do we put a screen in the back
- 28:45Speaker 13: of the stage and I love that. We kind of
- 28:46Speaker 13: reverse project the concert that's on the stage for the voters. Yeah,
- 28:50Speaker 13: that's kind of neat. But we don't have we never
- 28:52Speaker 13: record or never have a stream.
- 28:54Speaker 8: Yeah, I mean, and that's and and I can tell
- 28:55Speaker 8: you that's that's copyright reasons. You start putting things on
- 28:59Speaker 8: on faceboo book or whatever with music and you get
- 29:01Speaker 8: a cease and desist really really quick.
- 29:03Speaker 9: I played a.
- 29:03Speaker 13: Video from the Trick or Beat, a Halloween thing from
- 29:06Speaker 13: the ballpark. It might have been five or six years ago,
- 29:09Speaker 13: and it was just a snippet of one of my vendors.
- 29:11Speaker 13: I was working with and Michael Jackson was playing in
- 29:15Speaker 13: the Goment Ballpark. They took that thing down with the
- 29:18Speaker 13: sixty seconds you have the right to play Michael Jackins
- 29:20Speaker 13: music quite frankly effort.
- 29:22Speaker 3: I didn't know that was on. It was just music.
- 29:24Speaker 8: If one of our stations is at a concert and
- 29:27Speaker 8: we show a clip like thirty seconds, we always put
- 29:30Speaker 8: we do not own the rights to this.
- 29:32Speaker 4: And I'll tell you a quick story.
- 29:33Speaker 8: I was working at another radio station and we did
- 29:35Speaker 8: we recorded something for social media, and it was like
- 29:39Speaker 8: it was like when there's thirty seconds left in the song,
- 29:42Speaker 8: and so the song was starting to fade down and
- 29:44Speaker 8: we hit record and we got We got the X
- 29:49Speaker 8: you know from from Facebook.
- 29:51Speaker 4: Got the system because we had the last.
- 29:53Speaker 8: Thirty seconds of a song before we went into like
- 29:55Speaker 8: a two minute bit we were doing on the on

- 32:45Speaker 8: You had a text for Angie at the Humane Association
- 32:49Speaker 8: earlier and it was after we'd already hung up, but
- 32:51Speaker 8: they were asking if the shelter was taking in any animals.
- 32:55Speaker 8: So I sent a text to Angie and here is
- 32:56Speaker 8: her response. They're trying to stick to sick and injured.
- 33:00Speaker 8: Only if you have a stray, they can bring it
- 33:03Speaker 8: in and we can evaluate the situation. Can't promise we'll
- 33:06Speaker 8: take it right then, but there, but then we'll try
- 33:08Speaker 8: to work out something. They have supplies they can give
- 33:11Speaker 8: and also rescues to try if they're able to take it.
- 33:14Speaker 8: So that is the answer from Angie at the KNA
- 33:17Speaker 8: Charleston Remaine Association. Texter said, would the performers be legally
- 33:21Speaker 8: allowed to live stream since it's a free show that
- 33:24Speaker 8: has nothing to do with it, and we're talking about
- 33:26Speaker 8: somebody had asked if they could live stream live on
- 33:28Speaker 8: the levee and answers no, it all you got to
- 33:31Speaker 8: have permission from the songwriters and a lot of times
- 33:34Speaker 8: and when we have the groups that come to live
- 33:36Speaker 8: in the levee, although they're fantastic, they're normally not the
- 33:38Speaker 8: ones that wrote the song. So without we used to say,
- 33:41Speaker 8: without express written consent of Major League Baseball, but without
- 33:44Speaker 8: express written consent from the holders, the writers of the
- 33:47Speaker 8: songs and the publishers, No, you cannot, you cannot, all right.
- 33:52Speaker 8: Doctor Craig Glover Family Family Care Health Centers joins us
- 33:55Speaker 8: to talk about their Big Kids Basht's coming up. Welcome
- 33:57Speaker 8: to the show, sir, thanks for being here, Thanks for
- 33:59Speaker 8: having me. So this is what the third I believe.
- 34:02Speaker 5: This is our fourth an event.
- 34:04Speaker 4: Yes, okay, all right, So what goes on with these
- 34:06Speaker 4: kids bashes?
- 34:07Speaker 5: Well, it's an opportunity for the community to come out
- 34:09Speaker 5: so we can educate and engage them about making healthy choices,
- 34:14Speaker 5: healthy lifestyle choices. We have a big, family friendly, free
- 34:19Speaker 5: event for people to come out, Lots of activities for
- 34:22Speaker 5: the kids, bouncy houses, face painting, carnival games, lots of
- 34:27Speaker 5: vendors there so people can find out different things of
- 34:29Speaker 5: how to.
- 34:30Speaker 4: Take care of their health and when and where.
- 34:32Speaker 5: It is This coming Saturday Tomorrow, June fourteenth, from eleven
- 34:38Speaker 5: am until three pm at our Patrick Street location on
- 34:41Speaker 5: the West Side. Most people know it best because it's
- 34:43Speaker 5: next door to big Lots.
- 34:45Speaker 4: Okay, and so how many kids you normally get at
- 34:48Speaker 4: these things? Do you ever put a ballpark? Figure in?
- 34:50Speaker 5: Last year we had about fifteen hundred people come out
- 34:54Speaker 5: to celebrate with us.
- 34:56Speaker 4: And what kind of education do you do there for parents?
- 34:58Speaker 8: I know it's about fun, but you know, you got
- 35:00Speaker 8: them all there, you may as well try to teach
- 35:01Speaker 8: them something, right.
- 35:02Speaker 5: Yeah, it's about making positive health choices, how to take
- 35:08Speaker 5: care of yourself. We have motivational speakers that'll be there,
- 35:13Speaker 5: lots of different things. We really just want to make
- 35:15Speaker 5: sure that we're educating people about how to be healthy
- 35:20Speaker 5: in a fun and engaging way. We want kids to
- 35:22Speaker 5: associate health care with fun and that's a.
- 35:26Speaker 4: Very important part of it.
- 35:27Speaker 8: Because you know, automatically when you're a kid and you know,
- 35:30Speaker 8: I used to be a kid, believe it or not,
- 35:31Speaker 8: and you think about things like that, you think you
- 35:34Speaker 8: associate going to the doctor, medical care whatever, with a
- 35:37Speaker 8: shot or with bad times or with pain or whatever,
- 35:40Speaker 8: and it's not always that.
- 35:42Speaker 5: It's not always that My kids do that when they
- 35:44Speaker 5: hear they have to go to the doctor. That's hues
- 35:46Speaker 5: the first question, do I have to get a shot?
- 35:47Speaker 5: It's not always having to get a shot. It can
- 35:50Speaker 5: be a very positive interaction and you learn information about
- 35:54Speaker 5: how to take care of yourself, how to stay healthy,
- 35:57Speaker 5: how to live a long healthy life.
- 35:59Speaker 8: Doctor again with doctor Greig Lover about this big kids

- 36:11Speaker 8: e D. You takes a lot of people to pull
- 36:13Speaker 8: this thing off tomorrow, Doctor right.
- 36:15Speaker 9: It does.
- 36:15Speaker 5: We have a lot of our staff, we have a
- 36:17Speaker 5: lot of volunteers that are coming out to help us.
- 36:19Speaker 5: It's a really big event.
- 36:21Speaker 8: And it seems, as you said, this is the fourth
- 36:24Speaker 8: annual event, it seems like he gets bigger and better
- 36:26Speaker 8: every year. I have to ask this because I asked
- 36:28Speaker 8: Jim Strawn early about Live on the Levey. Do we
- 36:30Speaker 8: have a plan if there may be a shower or
- 36:32Speaker 8: two tomorrow?
- 36:33Speaker 5: Well, first of all, we're hoping that there is not
- 36:36Speaker 5: a shower doing our event, but if it is, watch
- 36:39Speaker 5: our Facebook page and we'll post information there if we
- 36:42Speaker 5: have to reschedule.
- 36:42Speaker 8: Okay, And for those who don't know the concept of
- 36:47Speaker 8: and I've had people on the show before about with
- 36:49Speaker 8: Family Care, explain the whole concept of this organization.
- 36:52Speaker 4: Sure.
- 36:53Speaker 5: So, our primary goal is to make sure that healthcare
- 36:56Speaker 5: is accessible to everyone, regardless of social economic status. So
- 37:00Speaker 5: we don't let a lack of financial resources be a
- 37:03Speaker 5: barrier to healthcare. We provide lots of different services from pediatrics,
- 37:08Speaker 5: adult care, behavior health, dentistry, vision services, lots and if
- 37:16Speaker 5: there's a service that you need that we can't provide,
- 37:18Speaker 5: we have relationships that we can get you there, Like
- 37:20Speaker 5: if you need to see a specialist, we can make
- 37:22Speaker 5: those referrals for you. Our goal is if you need
- 37:25Speaker 5: health services, come and see us and we will figure
- 37:28Speaker 5: out how to work with you to get.
- 37:30Speaker 8: That and talk again about some of the services that
- 37:32Speaker 8: you're able to offer two different places.
- 37:34Speaker 5: Yeah, So, as I mentioned in our office, we do pediatric,
- 37:38Speaker 5: we do adult medicine, geriatric care, behavior health, psychiatry, dentistry, vision.
- 37:45Speaker 5: We have relationships with most of the specialties. So if
- 37:49Speaker 5: you need to see the cardiologists or rheumatologists or whatever,
- 37:52Speaker 5: we can get you to those folks.
- 37:54Speaker 4: And I'm sure there tomorrow. As you said, you have
- 37:56Speaker 4: a lot of information.
- 37:57Speaker 5: Absolutely well, we'll have information about all of our services
- 38:01Speaker 5: that we provide. The other thing I'll mentioned is we
- 38:03Speaker 5: do have a birth center. We have the only freestanding
- 38:06Speaker 5: birth center in the state of West Virginia where women
- 38:08Speaker 5: can come into our location to give birth as an
- 38:12Speaker 5: alternative to an hospital setting. That's really the root of
- 38:15Speaker 5: our organization. That's how we started thirty six years ago,
- 38:18Speaker 5: and we continue to offer that service.
- 38:20Speaker 4: Talk about the kids.
- 38:23Speaker 8: You've been doing this for four years now when you
- 38:25Speaker 8: see the kids come in, About the expression on their faces.
- 38:27Speaker 8: They're there for the fun automatically, But just talk about
- 38:33Speaker 8: the kids.
- 38:34Speaker 5: Yeah, the kids come out and they have a great time.
- 38:36Speaker 5: And as we talked about before. It's a way for
- 38:39Speaker 5: them to engage in healthcare services and not be in
- 38:43Speaker 5: a stressful situation. We can have conversations about making healthy
- 38:47Speaker 5: food choices, maybe having water over sugary drinks and some
- 38:52Speaker 5: of the benefits of doing that, and we can do
- 38:55Speaker 5: that in a way that's not stressing them out and
- 38:57Speaker 5: they're not worried that somebody is going to give them
- 38:59Speaker 5: a shot. And also I mentioned for the kids who
- 39:02Speaker 5: are school age that may be involved in sports, we
- 39:04Speaker 5: will be offering free sports physical at our event on
- 39:07Speaker 5: Saturday as well.
- 39:08Speaker 8: That's very important because I know the kids just got
- 39:10Speaker 8: out of school, but a lot of you you got
- 39:12Speaker 8: to think ahead.
- 39:12Speaker 5: That's preparing for upcoming season.
- 39:15Speaker 8: Yeah, we had a text here speaking to the shots that
- 39:17Speaker 8: says Dave, when I was a kid, I loved my doctor,
- 39:19Speaker 8: but couldn't stand his nurse. He never gave me the shots.
- 39:22Speaker 8: He made his nurse do it. So the doctor goes
- 39:25Speaker 8: away as the as the as the good guy, right,
- 39:27Speaker 8: the nurses the bad person.
- 39:28Speaker 5: Sometimes that had And if that works, if that's how
- 39:30Speaker 5: we have to do it to make sure we keep
- 39:32Speaker 5: our kids healthy, then we'll we'll do.
- 39:34Speaker 8: That whatever it takes. A Dave Allen Show and five

- 43:02Speaker 9: Good morning, David.
- 43:03Speaker 4: I get the title right, Trojan Landing Marine to power Sports.
- 43:05Speaker 9: That is it now? Yes?
- 43:06Speaker 4: So, yeah, we.
- 43:07Speaker 8: Had you on the show when you guys made the
- 43:09Speaker 8: not the transition, but you added power sports and the
- 43:13Speaker 8: mountain was there. I guess last month doing a live
- 43:16Speaker 8: broadcast and I stopped by mainly because the boat bite
- 43:20Speaker 8: truck was there.
- 43:21Speaker 4: It's just same.
- 43:22Speaker 8: And I may have helped with some equipment so too,
- 43:24Speaker 8: but I guess I just wasn't prepared for how much
- 43:28Speaker 8: power sports equipment you actually have there.
- 43:30Speaker 20: We have a lot in stock. I mean, you know,
- 43:32Speaker 20: we carry right now about four brands. We've got another
- 43:36Speaker 20: one that just arrived this week. Maybe it's we have
- 43:40Speaker 20: over sixty about sixty seventy items sitting there right now,
- 43:45Speaker 20: most of us built showroom or sitting out front.
- 43:48Speaker 8: And it's it's not necessarily names. I mean, it is
- 43:53Speaker 8: names that people don't earn of, but but there's something
- 43:55Speaker 8: that may be a little bit unique.
- 43:56Speaker 4: To this area.
- 43:57Speaker 9: That way, Yeah, there's some unique names.
- 43:59Speaker 20: I mean, roll Infield right now is the one of
- 44:01Speaker 20: the larger items that we have in stock, and a
- 44:04Speaker 20: lot of people will know them from their days when
- 44:06Speaker 20: they were mixed with Triumph. But they are the country's
- 44:09Speaker 20: oldest motorcycle well the world's oldest motorcycle dealer, being nineteen
- 44:14Speaker 20: oh one.
- 44:15Speaker 9: But you know, Segue is another one.
- 44:17Speaker 20: You think of the mall cop Paul Bart and all that,
- 44:20Speaker 20: and they make one heck of a side by side.
- 44:23Speaker 20: You know, I would ask people to get out there
- 44:24Speaker 20: look at them and what you get for the money.
- 44:29Speaker 9: That's that's where it really kicks in.
- 44:31Speaker 8: And it's amazing to me as somebody who grew up
- 44:35Speaker 8: in the nineteen seventies when everybody had many bikes and
- 44:38Speaker 8: things like that, and then we saw the three wheelers
- 44:41Speaker 8: you know that came out and then which they totally
- 44:43Speaker 8: did away with I guess for the most part, at
- 44:44Speaker 8: least the kind I grew up with, and then the
- 44:46Speaker 8: four wheeler. These things are are practically like cadillacs. I
- 44:50Speaker 8: mean what's out there now as far as side by
- 44:53Speaker 8: sides and.
- 44:53Speaker 4: Things like that.
- 44:53Speaker 20: Oh, you can get them with heaters, air conditioner, you know,
- 44:56Speaker 20: they can become yournswer right, yeah, as a glamp. Yes,
- 45:01Speaker 20: now that's the same side on the side by side world. Yeah,
- 45:06Speaker 20: you know the three wheelers with the Honda three wheeler
- 45:09Speaker 20: that nearly killed everybody while they wrote it. I grew
- 45:12Speaker 20: up on that. But we have Suzuki coming. So you
- 45:16Speaker 20: were talking about the brands we carried, name brands and stuff.
- 45:19Speaker 20: I mean, we have Suzuki, so that is the big
- 45:22Speaker 20: name brand. But even in a world Italian bike in Benelli,
- 45:27Speaker 20: you know, and they have these little pit bikes of
- 45:30Speaker 20: TNTs and they're super fun to get on scooters. We've
- 45:34Speaker 20: got all kinds of stuff over there right now.
- 45:35Speaker 4: And tomorrow you're having an open house.
- 45:37Speaker 20: We are, so tomorrow boat Bikes will be open, but
- 45:39Speaker 20: it's going to be a limited menu because we're giving
- 45:42Speaker 20: away hot dogs, food things of that nature. But we
- 45:45Speaker 20: do have an open house, so, I mean, we've got
- 45:47Speaker 20: a lot of great specials going on for zero percent
- 45:50Speaker 20: financing or you can get three thousand dollars off of
- 45:53Speaker 20: several items in the store.
- 45:55Speaker 9: We're doing giveaways, door prizes.
- 45:59Speaker 20: Just it's going to be a hopefully a happening place
- 46:02Speaker 20: tomorrow because we've we've gotten all this stuff in stock
- 46:05Speaker 20: for our spring open house and hoping to see a
- 46:07Speaker 20: lot of people out.
- 46:09Speaker 4: What was it that made you guys go into that.
- 46:12Speaker 8: You explained it last time you were on the show,
- 46:13Speaker 8: But what was it that made you guys decide to
- 46:15Speaker 8: you know, we're going to try this this power sports thing.
- 46:18Speaker 9: Well, it's really just the state of the economy.
- 46:21Speaker 1: Uh.
- 46:22Speaker 9: You know, we were the.
- 46:23Speaker 20: State's second largest boat dealer for many years, but you know,
- 46:28Speaker 20: we go from selling eighty ninety boats a year to
- 46:31Speaker 20: thirty just because boat pricing has gotten so really really
- 46:37Speaker 20: out of control.
- 46:38Speaker 4: That's and that's no fault of you. No more other
- 46:41Speaker 4: dealers like you. That's not.
- 46:42Speaker 9: That's not We're all falling through it. Everybody's going through it.
- 46:45Speaker 20: And until the boating world takes a big reset and
- 46:48Speaker 20: starts coming back out with newer, more affordable models, it's
- 46:53Speaker 20: made it really hard on us.
- 46:54Speaker 9: So we we did.
- 46:55Speaker 20: We more or less had to pivot and we kind
- 46:57Speaker 20: of looked at who were the brand out there that's
- 47:00Speaker 20: not in the area, who's value driven because rural endfield
- 47:04Speaker 20: there's like I said, we have sixty bikes in stock,
- 47:08Speaker 20: and there's not one of them over eight thousand dollars.
- 47:10Speaker 20: We have our Bonelli group, they have their brand new
- 47:14Speaker 20: seven O two's, So the seven hundred c C bike,
- 47:17Speaker 20: it's the first, you know, it's the first one that's
- 47:19Speaker 20: over eight thousand in our showroom. So these are very
- 47:23Speaker 20: value driven products and that's what we were hoping to
- 47:26Speaker 20: bring to the valley.
- 47:28Speaker 4: It's it's a it's a great, great business model. You
- 47:31Speaker 4: got over there.
- 47:31Speaker 8: As I said, I stopped by when the Mountain was
- 47:33Speaker 8: when Steve was over there doing the live broadcast in
- 47:35Speaker 8: Shockley and hung out for a little bit. Mainly that
- 47:37Speaker 8: day I was helping him hold onto the tents because
- 47:40Speaker 8: it was.
- 47:40Speaker 9: Extremely it was extremely windy.
- 47:42Speaker 4: At one point.
- 47:43Speaker 8: It was interesting because you know, we couldn't even it
- 47:46Speaker 8: was so windy on that day, we couldn't even take
- 47:48Speaker 8: the tents down. So you got myself and you got
- 47:51Speaker 8: Sean Sales from Sales Weasel, Sean, Yes, and you got
- 47:55Speaker 8: Animal and Shockley and myself like that new Ford I body, Yes,
- 48:00Speaker 8: love show's new truck that I that I helped pay for.
- 48:02Speaker 4: But that's a that's another story.
- 48:03Speaker 8: But we're all we're all holding on that. It was like, well,
- 48:06Speaker 8: let's take it down the tent. We can't because it
- 48:09Speaker 8: was going And of course, uh, Heather, your wife is
- 48:12Speaker 8: there just making fun of us.
- 48:13Speaker 4: She was, So that's well.
- 48:14Speaker 20: I think Steve went through three drinks because the wind
- 48:17Speaker 20: kept blowing the drinks off the table and they were
- 48:19Speaker 20: not alcoholic.
- 48:21Speaker 4: If you know Steve Animal, that's that's a rare of himself.
- 48:24Speaker 20: He'd got a dui in the parking lot just because
- 48:26Speaker 20: he was so sloppy that they were Dike cokes, but
- 48:29Speaker 20: they were all Dikes. But yeah, and it was like,
- 48:31Speaker 20: when are you gonna hold onto this Dick Coke because
- 48:32Speaker 20: there's the third one on the ground.
- 48:34Speaker 8: And uh again that your boat Bite truck is going
- 48:37Speaker 8: to be there tomorrow. I know you had a limited
- 48:38Speaker 8: menu on that.
- 48:39Speaker 20: Yeah, but it is there today. She'll be open again today.
- 48:42Speaker 13: Uh.
- 48:42Speaker 4: And the food is fantastic.
- 48:44Speaker 20: She had a lot of people stop off the street
- 48:45Speaker 20: yesterday that had never been there. Yeah, and she gets
- 48:49Speaker 20: she gets a lot of good reviews and she just
- 48:50Speaker 20: recently signed up she's going to be in the Pepperoni
- 48:53Speaker 20: contest Pepperoni ball contests.
- 48:55Speaker 4: So all right, good stuff there, all right.
- 48:57Speaker 8: So and I will mention our one of our another
- 48:59Speaker 8: one of her station's ninety six to one KWS is
- 49:01Speaker 8: gonna be broadcasting live. Rob Reel will be there tomorrow.
- 49:05Speaker 8: I think he's there from noon to two and he'll
- 49:08Speaker 8: have some giveaways. But your open house hours again are.
- 49:10Speaker 20: We it's going to be protect pretty much our whole day.
- 49:14Speaker 20: But it's I mean the nine to five, I mean
- 49:17Speaker 20: we're and if I have to stay late, I will.
- 49:19Speaker 20: I was there atill eight thirty last Saturday, So whatever
- 49:21Speaker 20: it takes, whatever it takes.

- 50:01Speaker 8: plate issue. We're going to talk to Willie about that.

- 50:05Speaker 8: it restored. Emmitt Pepper's here from Energy Efficient West Virginia.

- 50:41Speaker 8: I keep waiting for an adult big wheel like we
- 50:44Speaker 8: had in the nineteen seventies. I think those have actually
- 50:47Speaker 8: been manufactured. I think they have been on the Juneteenth
- 50:53Speaker 8: THINGK Texas to your Dave, Governor Borisse cutting Juneteenth. I
- 50:57Speaker 8: had this one early sticking to the boot liquor score ripped.
- 51:00Speaker 4: That's a text, that's a texture saying that not meet.
- 51:02Speaker 3: TJ.
- 51:02Speaker 4: Meadows is here. How you doing, man good? How are you?
- 51:05Speaker 8: A news came down yesterday during the show and we
- 51:09Speaker 8: gave it out to the people that Juneteenth is a
- 51:12Speaker 8: federal holiday. However, Governor Morrissey, making the announcement yesterday, state
- 51:16Speaker 8: employees would not get the day off. They do get
- 51:18Speaker 8: West Virginia day off on Friday of next week and
- 51:21Speaker 8: his rationale was is that state workers and taxpayers should
- 51:26Speaker 8: not be on the hook for two straight days off.
- 51:29Speaker 9: Okay, here we fix this for you.
- 51:31Speaker 4: Fix it for ten seconds. Now, I'll give you I'll
- 51:34Speaker 4: give you twenty There's twelve state holidays in code.
- 51:39Speaker 16: Take one of them away, such as Columbus Day or
- 51:42Speaker 16: President's Day designated a floating holiday that employees can take
- 51:47Speaker 16: and pick. If you want good Friday, take it, if
- 51:49Speaker 16: you want Juneteenth, take it. You get no additional holidays.
- 51:53Speaker 16: The state's not out any more money. People have their
- 51:55Speaker 16: flexibility done and done. That's how you do it.
- 51:57Speaker 4: So a lot of private companies have done than it
- 51:59Speaker 4: that way.
- 52:00Speaker 16: Imagine that we can learn something from the private sector.
- 52:02Speaker 4: Imagine that I fixed that in twenty five seconds. What
- 52:06Speaker 4: do you got for me next?
